Transcript
- 0:05Welcome everybody to Mom St. USA.
- 0:07My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama, and on this first episode
- 0:11of 2026, we are bringing you a topic that I don't think we've
- 0:14ever talked about on Mom St. before, and that is taking
- 0:18animals to Disney. So today we're going to be
- 0:21talking about two different aspects of taking your animals
- 0:24with you to Disney. The 1st is if you've got a pet
- 0:28going with you, what kind of some options are that you have
- 0:32if that's something that you'd like to explore?
- 0:34And the second one is going to talk just briefly about service
- 0:37animals because I feel like there are service animals that
- 0:40are such a big part of our just population now, especially at
- 0:44the Disney park. So I wanted to just take a brief
- 0:47moment to touch on what service animals are able to do and
- 0:52unable to do in the parks for anybody that's going because I
- 0:55think that we could all stand to be a little further educated on
- 0:59things like that. So that is the goal for today as
- 1:03we kind of kick off 2026 with our podcast here.
- 1:06Thank you guys all so much for being here for this first
- 1:08episode. Thank you for continuing to
- 1:11support us as we kind of shift away from our partnership with
- 1:15Chipping Co and go to our kind of fully self-contained feed now
- 1:20for Mom Street. But we've got a lot of really
- 1:22great topics coming this year that we've already started to
- 1:25plan for in the first coming week.
- 1:27So we're really excited to continue this journey with you
- 1:30guys. So all that being said, let's go
- 1:32ahead and jump in. So like I said today we are
- 1:35going to discuss two different aspects when taking animals to
- 1:39Disney. 1 is again taking pets and the second is going to be
- 1:42service animals. So we're going to talk about
- 1:45taking pets to Disney 1st. And there are kind of some
- 1:51different things to to know that I feel like not a lot of the
- 1:54general public knows when they're visiting the Disney
- 1:56parks. And that is that Disney has 4
- 2:01pet friendly resorts. So there are actually four of
- 2:04the resorts on Disney property that you are able to have your
- 2:08pets with you when you travel. Now, this episode is not really
- 2:12going to touch on any of the surrounding resorts or hotels or
- 2:17good neighbor hotels or anything like that because that gets
- 2:20really in the weeds and kind of to be almost too much
- 2:23information when it comes to thinking about taking your
- 2:27animals with you. So we're just going to focus on
- 2:29the actual Disney resorts today. So the first of that is that,
- 2:34like I said, Disney's got four of them.
- 2:36So Art of Animation, Port Orleans, Riverside, the Yacht
- 2:40Club, and then the cabins at Fort Wilderness with also the
- 2:44campsites at Fort Wilderness being an option as well.
- 2:46So kind of A2 for one if you're attending or if you're planning
- 2:49to visit Fort Wilderness. So the nice thing about this is
- 2:53that there's one in each price range category at least.
- 2:57So Art of Animation hits your value resort category, Port
- 3:02Orleans Riverside is a moderate, and then Yacht Club is your
- 3:06deluxe. So I like that they kind of have
- 3:09at least one at every level, so that way you have some options
- 3:13whenever you're visiting. Do note that at the moment dogs
- 3:18are the only pets that are actually allowed in the resort
- 3:21rooms, so if you are someone that is planning to travel with
- 3:25another type of animal, we'll get to that in just a moment.
- 3:28Here. They are not actually allowed.
- 3:31So cats or other small animals are not allowed it at those
- 3:34Disney resorts. So they are just dog friendly
- 3:37resorts. There is a maximum when you're
- 3:40visiting Disney with dogs of two dogs per room.
- 3:44So if you're someone that's got a whole herd, you keep in mind
- 3:48that you're only allowed to have two per room.
- 3:51So that may adjust what you're trying to do or adjust to your
- 3:55plan. So just keep those things in
- 3:57mind as you are planning. Disney does note that dogs are
- 4:01quote, expected to be well behaved, leashed in public areas
- 4:05and properly vaccinated. So again, something else to keep
- 4:08in mind. Upon arrival, your dog will
- 4:12actually be greeted with their own little welcome kit from
- 4:16Pluto. They call it Pluto's welcome kit
- 4:18that you'll receive and it's like a little drawstring bag
- 4:21with some goodies inside of it. So what you get included inside
- 4:25is a room occupied dog sign, so that kind of lets like mouse
- 4:31keeping or maintenance or anybody else know that you've
- 4:33got a dog in your room with you. They give you a singular food
- 4:38slash water bowl that you can use and then a little like bone
- 4:42shaped mat to go underneath it, which is super cute.
- 4:45They give you a little clip on carrier of potty bags.
- 4:49If you have happened to run out or have forgotten to bring
- 4:53yours. They do give you a little one of
- 4:54those and please be courteous and clean up after to your pets
- 4:57if you're taking them anywhere on Disney property.
- 5:00And then also a little Disney tag dog tag that has a little, I
- 5:05think it's got a little Pluto on it.
- 5:07So all of those things you actually receive upon check in,
- 5:10which is a fun little bag of goodies for you and your doggy
- 5:14friends that are visiting the Disney parks.
- 5:17And just a quick note, we'll talk a little bit about the
- 5:19parks here momentarily with what animals are allowed to do and
- 5:23not allowed to do. But just note that pets are not
- 5:27permitted in the theme parks or water parks.
- 5:29So service animals are a different story.
- 5:32And again, we'll talk about that in the second-half of today's
- 5:34episode. But do keep in mind that pets
- 5:37are not permitted to go to the theme parks or water parks with
- 5:41you. So just some things to note.
- 5:44Now along with those four dog friendly resorts on property,
- 5:49Disney also has what is called the best Friend's pet care.
- 5:53So this is a location that is on Disney property and think of it
- 5:58like you would kind of think of like a, a traditional boarding
- 6:02facility or like a doggy daycare type facility.
- 6:05So it is called Best Friends Pet Care and they're actually a a
- 6:09national company that's got several locations across the
- 6:12country. So it's not just for Disney, but
- 6:16they partner with Disney to have one on property.
- 6:20They can take dogs, cats and other small pets.
- 6:25So if you are someone that is going to be traveling to the
- 6:28parks and you've got a cat with you or another small animal,
- 6:33this is a great option for you. So this hotel includes, so they
- 6:39call it a hotel for your your animals. 17,000 square feet of
- 6:44air conditioning indoor space. 10,000 square feet of covered
- 6:47outdoor runs and play areas. A 25,000 square foot dog park.
- 6:52The nice thing is that on their website they actually have some
- 6:56virtual tours available, so you're able to kind of look at
- 6:59the facility before you get there.
- 7:02Do keep in mind that you have to have a reservation and a deposit
- 7:06required for your stay. And we'll talk about the details
- 7:09of what they kind of offer here in just a moment.
- 7:12But keep in mind that reservations and a deposit are
- 7:15required and a lot of that is actually done straight through
- 7:18their website. They do have a phone number you
- 7:19can call if you've got like questions or want to chat with
- 7:21somebody about your needs or concerns.
- 7:24They have that available as well.
- 7:27As far as the hours go, there's a couple different options that
- 7:31they have and we'll talk about that here momentarily and I'll
- 7:34give you some kind of starting ranges for prices.
- 7:38But they do have just daily boarding or daily visiting and
- 7:42then they also have overnight. If you are doing the daily
- 7:46option, their hours are one hour prior to park open until one
- 7:53hour after parks close. So it really just depends on
- 7:57what park you're visiting for the day, but they are at least
- 7:59going to be open an hour before that park opens and closed.
- 8:03They won't close until an hour after the last park closes.
- 8:07Those hours do include special events that are happening at the
- 8:11parks. So if you are someone that's
- 8:13visiting during like Not so Scary Halloween party or Very
- 8:16Merry Christmas Party and they have those extended hours for
- 8:19that, those are included in the hours that they plan for.
- 8:23So that's a really nice perk. Same thing would go for things
- 8:26like the after hours ticketed events or a Moonlight Magic
- 8:29events or any of those types of things.
- 8:33They do take that into consideration.
- 8:35So the hours do fluctuate. It's not just a set, you know,
- 8:397:00 AM to 10:00 PM type of thing.
- 8:42So you really need to make sure you're looking at park hours for
- 8:46your visit. And then just confirming with
- 8:48the employees at the the best friend's pet location what their
- 8:53hours are for the day to make sure that you are, are being
- 8:56considerate of those with your, your animal that you're dropping
- 8:59off. This starts for the daily
- 9:05boarding at $59 per day. Again, that's your starting cost
- 9:10and there's lots of other things that you can include in that
- 9:13what that will allow your cost to vary.
- 9:15So it's hard for me to say like, Yep, you're going to pay $60.00
- 9:18a day. Because if you want extra play
- 9:20time or extra treats or indoor play time or like group play
- 9:24time, there's so many different little, like a la carte things
- 9:27that you can add to that that really will make your amount
- 9:31that you're paying completely vary.
- 9:33So it really just depends when it comes to that.
- 9:36Couple things to note that you are able to bring from home.
- 9:40So they provide all of the bedding, the food dishes, things
- 9:45like that. They they, they will provide for
- 9:47you, but they do suggest bringing food and treats from
- 9:50home for your pets. You can bring up to two toys for
- 9:54your pet from home. And they do also suggest like AT
- 9:56shirt or something that smells like home just to help comfort
- 9:59your animal because they will be, you know, in a new place
- 10:02away from you. So those are all things that
- 10:04they do allow for you to bring in for drop off for boarding.
- 10:09So let's talk about overnight boarding and this kind, some of
- 10:15this kind of will also transfer to daytime when I talk about the
- 10:18different extras and things that you can you can book for your
- 10:22stay. So for overnight prices start
- 10:25for dogs, sorry, I'm going to go into three different categories
- 10:28here, dogs, cats and then other small animals.
- 10:30So for dogs, prices start at $67 per night and they have several
- 10:35different package options, but they all include obviously like
- 10:38potty breaks and walks, bedding and bowls.
- 10:41So that's the minimum of what you can expect from them if you
- 10:45decide to take your dog there. There are lots of extras that
- 10:48I'll talk about here in just a second.
- 10:50Higher level packages will include things like access to
- 10:53outdoor patios, webcams where you can like log in and see what
- 10:57your animal is doing, TV's that they can watch.
- 11:01So the prices for some of these higher level packages range
- 11:04anywhere from 120 per day up to $325 per day.
- 11:09Again, it really just depends on what it is that you want for
- 11:13your animal when they're visiting there.
- 11:15Some of the extras that you can have added on to your package
- 11:21include things like, and I mentioned some of these already,
- 11:23but I'm going to go run down this list to make sure that I
- 11:26didn't forget anything. A play group time, play time
- 11:29one-on-one with the staff member, extra cuddle time, a
- 11:32walk and explore time. So like extra long walk times
- 11:36and outdoor times. Fancy bottled water if you have
- 11:41a a dog that prefers that, a bedtime story, an ice cream
- 11:46treat break, a special holiday meal and then a premium bedding
- 11:50option. So again, all of those are
- 11:52different, like add-ons that you can add on to your time and they
- 11:56range in prices as you can imagine.
- 11:58So it's really tailored to what it is that you want for your
- 12:02animal, which is kind of nice. So that's kind of the general
- 12:06rundown of your dog options. For cats, they have two
- 12:12different base level packages that you can do and it really
- 12:16just has to do with how much space you want for your animal
- 12:19to have when they're when they're staying there.
- 12:22So they have what they call A2 level condo for cats and that is
- 12:28the price for that is 36 per day or starts at 38 for overnight.
- 12:33And then they also have a four level, what they call a town
- 12:36home, so 4 levels for them to explore.
- 12:40And that price for that starts at 45 per day and $50.00 for
- 12:45overnight. And again, they've got lots of
- 12:47extras. I love that.
- 12:48So in their extras, they have play time, but then they also
- 12:51have a cookies and milk option if that's something that your
- 12:54cat would enjoy. They have what they call tuna on
- 12:56a Ritz, which is literally just like tuna fish on a Ritz
- 13:00cracker, special activity toys, and then a deluxe Kitty bed.
- 13:04So again, lots of options that you can add for your Kitty to
- 13:08enjoy their time while you are enjoying your time in the parks.
- 13:13The other thing that they do offer is small pet boarding.
- 13:18So this was really interesting to me when I went to research
- 13:20because I would not have guessed that this is something that they
- 13:24offer because you don't really think about boarding or you
- 13:30know, sending to daycare some of these smaller animals, but they
- 13:34do offer this for small pets. The guest who is bringing the
- 13:39animal must provide their own enclosure for small pets.
- 13:43This does include things like birds, reptiles, and rodents.
- 13:46Please note that despite them allowing smaller pets, they do
- 13:52not accommodate anything that is venomous.
- 13:54So, you know, for obvious reasons, they've got to kind of
- 13:58protect their themselves, their staff and the other animals and
- 14:01no primates. So if you happen to be somebody
- 14:05out there listening that has a primate for a pet, they are
- 14:08unfortunately unable to go to this location, but they do offer
- 14:13for other small pets. And the rates for these are
- 14:17actually based on the size of the enclosure.
- 14:19So this will be determined when you like go to check in and they
- 14:23will kind of see what kind of space it is that they're looking
- 14:27at allowing you to utilize for the day.
- 14:31So they just basically put it in four different size categories,
- 14:34small, medium, large, extra large.
- 14:37So small starts at $19.00 per day, medium starts at $23 per
- 14:42day, large is 28 and extra large is 32.
- 14:46So lots of options for whatever type of animal despite or except
- 14:51for if they are venomous or a primate that you may need to
- 14:54house at this location while you are traveling.
- 14:58Now, again, keep in mind, you have to be really aware of the
- 15:02fact that Disney resorts only offer the abilities for dogs to
- 15:07stay in the rooms. So anything else other than
- 15:11that, keep that in mind, right? And make sure that you are, if
- 15:15you're looking to make a reservation, make sure that your
- 15:17reservation is accommodating so that those animals don't have to
- 15:21travel to the resort with you because that would not be what
- 15:24Disney allows for their policies.
- 15:26So again, a little bit of coordinating and figuring all of
- 15:31that out. Now a couple other things that
- 15:33they do offer there. They do also have a full service
- 15:37grooming space at this location. So while your animal is there,
- 15:42if they are in need of any or wanting to get any sort of
- 15:45pampering done, they do have a full grooming salon there.
- 15:50So they offer basic things just like a shampoo and a cut.
- 15:53They offer flea treatments, pedicures, skin treatments, all
- 15:56sorts of stuff, basically anything you can imagine that a
- 15:58normal grooming salon would offer, they also have that.
- 16:01So the price breakdown for that again is going to vary based on
- 16:06the packages that you choose. Because it's just like any other
- 16:09grooming salon where they've got the add-ons with, you know,
- 16:12teeth or nails or special kinds of shampoo and conditioner and
- 16:17all that kind of thing. So they just break down the
- 16:20price based on size and they give you a starting value.
- 16:23So a small dog that's less than 25 lbs is going to start at $51
- 16:27for a grooming treatment or grooming session.
- 16:31Medium dogs would be 25 to 50 lbs starts at 61.
- 16:35Large dogs, which would be 50 to 75, starts at $86 and an extra
- 16:40large dog, which would be 75 or more pounds, starts at 1:31.
- 16:46They do also offer grooming for cats, but there's no like price
- 16:52breakdown for that available on their website.
- 16:54So the prices vary for for cats. If you are someone looking to
- 16:59take a cat to get groomed at this location.
- 17:02And do just note for all pets that are visiting the best
- 17:06friend's pet hotel in any capacity, whether it's daytime
- 17:10boarding, overnight boarding, grooming, all of that, they must
- 17:13be up to date with their vaccines.
- 17:15So written proof is required from your veterinarian.
- 17:19So you definitely need to plan accordingly ahead of time to
- 17:22make sure that you have that. You will have to either present
- 17:25a copy upon check in or you can always ask your vet's office to
- 17:29fax it and they've got their their information on their
- 17:31website readily available for you.
- 17:33So you definitely want to make sure that you would plan ahead
- 17:35for that, just like you would plan ahead for making sure you
- 17:39have, you know your real ID to fly or you have all of your
- 17:43reservation information ready. You got to make sure that your
- 17:46documentation for your animal is there as well.
- 17:49So all of that is kind of the the basic fast and furious
- 17:54rundown of what it's like to take pets with you.
- 17:58So it again, there are four resorts that you want to
- 18:02consider and staying at one of those is going to be the only
- 18:05way to keep your dog with you for the entire time.
- 18:08Now, you could obviously have your dog go to this, the pet
- 18:16friendly resort or the the best friend's pet care when you go to
- 18:21the parks, you know, so that way you, you have that Peace of Mind
- 18:24of not having, if you're, if you're worried about
- 18:26coordinating, taking like an afternoon break to go, you know,
- 18:29let them out. You obviously don't want to
- 18:30leave your dog go in your room for longer than, you know, the
- 18:34hours that they're typically used to being left alone.
- 18:37So just lots of coordinating to kind of consider and and keep in
- 18:41mind when it comes to that. And also keeping in mind the
- 18:45fact that especially at places like Art of Animation, and I
- 18:52mean really, honestly, any of these resorts, chances are good
- 18:55that, you know, people are coming and going in their rooms
- 18:58around you at all times of day. So if you've got a doggo that
- 19:01has a really hard time being alone and maybe they're a little
- 19:05more vocal when they're alone, things to consider when you are
- 19:08taking your dog with you, you don't want them barking and
- 19:10waking up a kiddo that's trying to nap next to you.
- 19:13You don't want them stressing themselves out because they're
- 19:15missing you while you're gone. So just lots of things to
- 19:18consider. You know, you consider this
- 19:19anyway when you leave your pet, you know, if you've got a house
- 19:22sitter or you leave them in a boarding facility, you know, by
- 19:25your house in your hometown. So just lots of things to be
- 19:30able to consider when it comes to that.
- 19:32And also considering the fact that you're, you want your
- 19:36animal to be OK with the fact that people may need to be
- 19:40coming in and out of your room. So, you know, mouse keeping or
- 19:43if there's a maintenance concern or request that you have to
- 19:46make, you know, you want to make sure that your dog is going to
- 19:48be fine with people coming in and out that aren't you.
- 19:52So again, lots of things to consider when you're taking your
- 19:56animals to Disney. But I just wanted to give you
- 19:58kind of that rundown of information regarding kind of
- 20:03what Disney allows and what they offer when it comes to taking
- 20:06pets. So I do before, like I said,
- 20:09before we hop or before we wrap up.
- 20:12I do just want to talk briefly about service animals like I
- 20:15touched on at the beginning of this episode.
- 20:18I think we all could stand to have some education on service
- 20:21animals. You know, they are such an
- 20:23integral part for so many people across the country and the
- 20:27world. And you will run into them at
- 20:30the Disney parks, whether it's at the resorts, at Disney
- 20:32Springs, inside the parks. Chances are good that on your
- 20:36trip you're going to see at least one service animal.
- 20:39So we're going to talk just briefly about kind of what what
- 20:43they're allowed to do, what they're not allowed to do.
- 20:45This is not meant to be like a full encompassing section on if
- 20:50you are trying to bring a service animal, but I've got
- 20:53some good information for kind of all involved.
- 20:55So that way we can all be a little more educated about
- 20:58service animals in the parks. So let's talk about service
- 21:01animals. I do think that this is helpful
- 21:04information so that we can all be informed and aware of service
- 21:07animals that we are. Like I said, basically it's a
- 21:10guarantee that you're going to encounter something like that
- 21:12while you're visiting the Disney parks.
- 21:15Just a quick reminder from me as a mom and a person and an annual
- 21:20pass holder that visits the Disney parks, no matter when you
- 21:23see an animal in public, whether you think it's a service animal
- 21:26or not, you always and teach your kids to always ask the
- 21:30owner and handler before approaching any animal in
- 21:33public, especially working animals, if they've got a vest
- 21:36on, if they've got, you know, notices on their leash or their
- 21:40collar that they are working. And you always want to be
- 21:42respectful of that and give them their space and make sure that
- 21:45you are asking before you do anything around that.
- 21:49That dog, not trying to distract it, not trying to pet it, not
- 21:53trying to get its attention. Let it do what it needs to do.
- 21:55And feel free to ask the owner and handler and they may say yes
- 21:58or no. So just be prepared for that.
- 22:00And definitely coach your kids to be prepared for that as well.
- 22:02Because I know it can be hard when you see a fluffy dog in, in
- 22:09public, you want to just go up and and pet it and interact with
- 22:12it. But always be mindful of that
- 22:14and make sure your kiddos are mindful of that too.
- 22:17So Disney allows service dogs or miniature horses to come to the
- 22:23parks. That is right.
- 22:24That is what I said. That is Disney policy.
- 22:28Service dogs and miniature horses.
- 22:32That is what they allow for service animals into the parks.
- 22:38That being said, each attraction in the parks will have a
- 22:41different plan for service animals.
- 22:43So we're going to talk about attractions.
- 22:44We're going to talk about just some other general information
- 22:47for service animals here. But each attraction has a
- 22:50different plan. It really just depends.
- 22:52So you always want to make sure if you are traveling with a
- 22:55service animal that you're asking the cast member at the
- 22:57entrance to each attraction what their procedure is for that.
- 23:02So some will permit the animal to ride with you.
- 23:08Some attractions will have kennels that the service animal
- 23:12can go to while you ride. And if that is the case, a cast
- 23:15member will stay with the animal until you have completed your
- 23:19ride and you come back. You know around to fetch them at
- 23:23the end. Sometimes, depending on your
- 23:27party size, who's in your group, the attraction, sometimes a cast
- 23:32member may have you utilize like a rider switch option so that a
- 23:36member of your party is always with the service animal.
- 23:40So if they are a location that just doesn't have the ability to
- 23:44have a kennel or and the animals not able to ride with you, that
- 23:49is an option that you may see as well.
- 23:50So kind of one of those threes are three options are typically
- 23:54what you're going to find at these attractions.
- 23:59Just a quick rundown of the attractions for what your what
- 24:05your animal is able to ride or not ride with you at each park.
- 24:09So at Magic Kingdom, service animals can ride everything
- 24:12except for basically the coasters, Barnstormer, Big
- 24:15Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarf Space Mountain, Tron, but also
- 24:20Tiana's Bayou and Peter Pan's flight.
- 24:23Now Peter Pan, you might be like, well, that's just a slow
- 24:25dark ride. It's the height, right?
- 24:27Those ships are open on the side so that it's not a safely
- 24:32enclosed area for the animal to be.
- 24:34So all except for Barnstormer, Big Center Mountain, Peter Pan
- 24:377, Dwarf Space Mountain, Tiana's, and Tron at Epcot the
- 24:42ones they can ride are Frozen, Grand Fiesta with the Three
- 24:47Caballeros, journey into the Imagination with Pigment, living
- 24:49with the land, Remy's Gratitude Adventure, the Seas with Nemo
- 24:52and friends, and Spaceship Earth.
- 24:53So a huge list at Epcot that your service animal can can ride
- 24:57with you at Animal Kingdom. The only attraction currently.
- 25:02Now we know there's lots of construction going on over
- 25:04there, but the only attraction they currently are able to ride
- 25:08is Navi River Journey. Also be aware if you are taking
- 25:12a service animal to Animal Kingdom, several of The Walking
- 25:16paths have areas that service animals are not permitted,
- 25:21unfortunately. So things like aviaries, those
- 25:24service animals are not permitted to to be in those
- 25:26locations. So again, if you're taking a
- 25:29service animal to animal Kingdom, I would highly suggest
- 25:31just stopping at guest services and just having a quick
- 25:34conversation with them about like, OK, where are we?
- 25:36Good. Where are we not, you know, want
- 25:39to make sure that all of the animals involved, your service
- 25:42animal and the animals that live in Animal Kingdom are all being
- 25:45taken care of in that situation at Hollywood Studios.
- 25:50The ones that they can ride are just Mickey, Minnie's, Runaway
- 25:53Railway and Toy Story Mania. They obviously could also attend
- 25:57the shows and things. There's lots of those at
- 25:59Hollywood Studios as well. So things to consider with that.
- 26:04Just briefly going to talk about Disneyland here for a second.
- 26:08We haven't touched much on Disneyland on this podcast
- 26:11lately. I've been, I want to get back
- 26:12more into that, but just a quick note that Disneyland does have a
- 26:17lot of the same stipulations that Disney World does.
- 26:20Disneyland does not have any pet friendly like resorts like we
- 26:24talked about with with Disney World or the like hotel boarding
- 26:29option, but they do obviously allow the service animals in.
- 26:33So if you're visiting Disneyland, very similar to what
- 26:37we heard at Magic Kingdom, they can ride everything except for
- 26:39most of the coaster. So they cannot ride Big Thunder
- 26:42Mountain, the Gadgets Go coaster, they cannot do Indiana
- 26:45Jones, the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Star Tours and Tiana's
- 26:48there and then California Adventure.
- 26:51They can ride the Golden Zephyr, the Inside Out, Whirlwind,
- 26:54Critter Carousel, Little Mermaid, Monsters Inc, the Pixar
- 26:57pal around Toy Story Mania and Web Slingers.
- 26:59So different options there if you're looking West Coast.
- 27:04Just briefly wanted to mention that as I was doing my research.
- 27:07Just a couple other things to note in this kind of fast and
- 27:10furious surface animal chat here is that service animals are not
- 27:14permitted at in any bodies of water on property.
- 27:19So that includes things like water features, splash pads,
- 27:23fountains, obviously pools, things like that.
- 27:28And also keep in mind that they are not permitted to be within 4
- 27:32feet of the water on wet decks. So if you are somewhere where
- 27:37there are boat launches or boat docks, just be aware that you
- 27:41want to make sure that you're giving plenty of space between
- 27:43your service animal and the water, mostly for your your
- 27:47animal safety, especially down in Florida.
- 27:49You never know what you may find in those waters across property
- 27:53when it comes to lakes, lagoons, things like that.
- 27:57You want to make sure you're giving plenty of space for for
- 28:01that. And just a quick note about
- 28:04service animal relief areas. This, I feel like, is something
- 28:07that we could all use a little bit more information on, and
- 28:12that is that Disney's policy is that service animals are welcome
- 28:18to use any outdoor space area for relief as long as the owner
- 28:21is cleaning up after the animal and leaving the area clean.
- 28:25So yes, there are designated relief areas, which we'll talk
- 28:28about just in a moment here. But keep in mind that Disney's
- 28:33policy does allow them to use any open outdoor area for relief
- 28:37as long as it is cleaned up after.
- 28:40So those designated relief areas do exist all across property if
- 28:44that is something that you prefer to do just to keep it
- 28:47simple. But you know, sometimes things
- 28:49happen. So at all of the resorts, at
- 28:52Disney Springs, at all of the parks, you are going to find
- 28:55these designated service animal relief areas.
- 28:59The easiest way to find them is actually just using your My
- 29:03Disney Experience app. So it is an option that you can
- 29:07search on the map feature there. You can also find them on like
- 29:10the paper maps you pick up at the entrance to any park that
- 29:14you're visiting for the day. But if you're looking to find
- 29:17them on your My Disney Experience app, you are going to
- 29:20click on the map option on your app.
- 29:23So open your app and then down along the bottom, you're going
- 29:25to hit that little pin to get the map to pop up.
- 29:28Then across the top there's going to be a bunch of options
- 29:31that populate. You're going to select the guest
- 29:33services option from the top. And then I suggest the easiest
- 29:38way to do it is to click the show list function, then in the
- 29:42bottom right corner, and that's going to populate a whole list
- 29:45of all of the guest service type things you may be looking for in
- 29:49the parks. You're going to Scroll down to
- 29:51where it says service animals and you're going to click that
- 29:55selection. It's going to bring up just a
- 29:56little description of, you know, what that feature shows on the
- 30:00map. And then you're going to click
- 30:02find on map. That will then repopulate the
- 30:05map that you can zoom in and scroll around on to locate the
- 30:10closest designated area. Now you do want to be kind of
- 30:14aware of where you are on the map because it doesn't.
- 30:17The one thing that I don't love about this map is it doesn't do
- 30:20a great job of like showing your pin of where you are once you
- 30:24get to that service animal map. So you want to make sure you
- 30:28kind of look at where you are in in general vicinity on the map
- 30:32before you start zooming because otherwise you may end up across
- 30:36property not where you're trying to view that.
- 30:39So again, like I said, all parks and resorts have several
- 30:41designated spaces to utilize for that for anybody who may need
- 30:45it. And just a quick note that some
- 30:48people here on our live chat as we're recording, as we're
- 30:51mentioning, just a quick reminder to anybody that is
- 30:54bringing any sort of an animal to Florida, especially a little
- 30:59bit in Disneyland also, but primarily in Florida.
- 31:02It gets extremely warm in Florida.
- 31:06That also translates to parking lot surfaces, walking past
- 31:12services, sidewalks, all of that.
- 31:14So just please be aware of that, especially if you're somebody
- 31:18that's coming from the north that maybe you don't have to
- 31:22worry about that or maybe you have a giant backyard that your
- 31:26dog typically gets their exercise and then you're not
- 31:28used to taking them on walks as often or things like that.
- 31:31Just just be aware of that when you're thinking about your pet
- 31:33and traveling with them to the Florida theme parks, protecting
- 31:38their little toes from that hot pavement with booties or they
- 31:43make little, you know, Crocs. They make little like almost
- 31:47like sticker pads that you can put on their paw pads to protect
- 31:51them. Lots of options, little socks,
- 31:53you know, whatever it is that works best for you and your
- 31:56situation in your particular animal or animals that you're
- 31:59bringing with you, you want to make sure that you are taking
- 32:03that into account to best protect their their toes,
- 32:07because not only will you be doing a lot of walking and
- 32:11exploring in the parks, but they will be too.
- 32:13So you want to make sure you're taking care of them.
- 32:16And also do note that not only for yourself to stay hydrated,
- 32:21but also for your animals. You can always ask at quick
- 32:25service locations for water, whether that's just a small
- 32:28water cup to, you know, pour into a bowl for your for your
- 32:31dog while you're while you're out and about.
- 32:34And that goes for resorts too. So if you've got, you know, a
- 32:37pet that you need to, you're out walking and they, they need some
- 32:41water and you're by the, the pool bar, ask them for a quick
- 32:43cup of water to help your, your animal out, to make sure that
- 32:47you're taking care of them. Because you want to make sure
- 32:49that they have just as much fun as you have when you are
- 32:52visiting the, the Disney theme parks.
- 32:54So like I said, kind of a fast and furious little quick rundown
- 32:58on taking animals to Disney coming up on Mom St.
