Latest / Brandon Fogal Evolution / #164 - Nietzsche’s Superman vs. The True God-Man—Who Will Win?
Transcript
- 0:00So, Friedrich Nietzsche had set up the Superman that was going to run its course
- 0:06and human history was going towards the Uberman.
- 0:10As we get closer and closer to probably the pinnacle of history,
- 0:14what's going to happen is there going to be a showdown between the Uberman versus Jesus Christ.
- 0:21All right, let's dive into this. I want to look at this and it's fitting because
- 0:24the movie Superman was just released today.
- 0:28So you should go check that out. But I want to actually take a look at a conference
- 0:31that kind of a like kind of podcast sit down that Timothy Albarino had with Joe Allen.
- 0:37And they discussed transhumanism and a lot of different things.
- 0:40I want to first take a look at this clip by Timothy Albarino.
- 0:43And he discusses that the goal of Nietzsche and what he kind of set front and
- 0:49center was evolution was one thing and Darwinism was one thing.
- 0:54But Friedrich Nietzsche, he saw how meaningless and pointless that is,
- 1:00and it leads to nothingness.
- 1:02And he was the one who kind of postulated that we need to have directed course
- 1:08of action to draw the human species to a goal, that this superhuman being is
- 1:15what we should be going towards,
- 1:17and that humans actually are just a bridge.
- 1:19They're not the final destination, and we need to get somewhere.
- 1:23But let's actually take a look at what Timothy Albirino said is pretty eye-popping.
- 1:28He was beginning to craft a vision, a destination, that now evolution in his mind had a destination.
- 1:34And Nietzsche critiqued, he believed in the theory of evolution,
- 1:39but he wasn't a Darwinist.
- 1:41Because the theory of evolution by natural selection, natural selection is blind,
- 1:46it's purposeless, it's random.
- 1:48But Nietzsche saw purpose in evolution, and he believed that the purpose,
- 1:53the very purpose of human evolution was to bring forth the ubermensch,
- 1:58the superman, the overman on planet Earth.
- 2:01That was the drive, the impetus of evolution.
- 2:07And that's really what's behind all of this, as I said before,
- 2:10to bring forth the godman, to bring forth the ubermensch, the overman on planet Earth.
- 2:18Okay, so Friedrich Nietzsche, there's a lot there. He was a 19th century philosopher.
- 2:23If you've read anything about philosophy, you've definitely run across this guy.
- 2:28And he was, I think he was the one that had the best realization of what his
- 2:35ideology and worldview meant.
- 2:37He was real about it. He wasn't going to just put it on the back burner.
- 2:43Oh, let's just go through regular day, but let's get to the heart of the issue.
- 2:47If, if everything is just nihilism and nothing means anything,
- 2:50then nothing means anything. There's no point to anything.
- 2:54So I think it was maybe the desire within him that like, we got to like,
- 2:59not just go with whatever comes our way, but we need to actually make change.
- 3:04We need to do something about it. We need to fight to the death to make something
- 3:09greater than just this pointless universe has to offer.
- 3:13But this sets us up against the worldview of Christianity because Christianity
- 3:19says there is a purpose. There is meaning to life.
- 3:22We aren't just here. We aren't just evolved species.
- 3:25We aren't just cosmic accidents, but rather God is directing everything.
- 3:30And it's the difference between us putting ourselves in the driver's seat as
- 3:34opposed to knowing God's the one in the driver's seat.
- 3:37But in this conference, they talked about a number of different things,
- 3:40and they also went on to, like, discussing the topic of what CERN,
- 3:44if you've heard of them, what they are doing in this world, and the God particle
- 3:49and all that, it was pretty cool.
- 3:50All right, so this is where they get into Joe Allen.
- 3:53He brings up the point that what people at CERN are doing, they might not understand
- 3:59that they're doing something very religious and guiding the God particle and
- 4:04trying to create something out of nothing.
- 4:07And trying to get back to the singularity, they're actually maybe doing something
- 4:12more religious than they might not know they're doing.
- 4:14These people don't necessarily have a self-conscious sense that what they're doing is religious.
- 4:19Some do, many don't, but what they are doing is fundamentally religious.
- 4:24That despair you're talking about, the evolutionary or atheistic point of view, it's crushing.
- 4:30The big zero is the most depressing idea anyone could ever have,
- 4:33that everything that we're doing right now ends in zero. in nothing.
- 4:38You may be Alexander the Great.
- 4:41You may be Elon Musk, but in 200 years, you, your consciousness will be zero.
- 4:48It will be as if you never existed.
- 4:50Maybe you take comfort in the continuation of your legacy. In a billion years.
- 4:56Sun explodes, blah, blah, blah, blah, zero.
- 4:59Let's say you've got probes going out into space that have your upload and you're
- 5:03spreading it across the entire universe.
- 5:05Well, you still have, at least according to the kind of scientific models,
- 5:09either a dissolution into a flat, almost zero Kelvin, everything turns to mush as the big bang just.
- 5:16Or you have the big crunch when everything becomes again, a singularity and
- 5:22you are back to zero, nothing.
- 5:25Okay. So that's, those are like, those are the options. And I think.
- 5:28I think this is this almost becomes
- 5:31the the pie in the sky for the atheist that
- 5:35this is you you know that there's nothing you're
- 5:37heading towards nothing so we can just live how we want and that's
- 5:40the way we can pacify the conscience that we have or that when we deep down
- 5:46know that God has set eternity in our hearts he we know that we're gonna live
- 5:51past death we we realize that we I think everybody fundamentally understands
- 5:56that. We just try to suppress it.
- 5:59We want to believe that our actions don't have, you know, we're not going to
- 6:04be judged about them, you know?
- 6:05And I think that's the only way that we can kind of have peace in that sense.
- 6:11Because what the story of Christ shows us is that there is a point to everything.
- 6:19It's not just you're getting up and every day you're just living for nothing,
- 6:23but rather you are living ultimately either for God or not for God, you know?
- 6:29And it's a stark contrast, but I think that a lot of times atheists just,
- 6:34they, and I myself was an atheist.
- 6:37I myself did not believe in God at one point, you know? For most of my life,
- 6:41I didn't believe in God, but it's just being confronted with the reality where
- 6:45we deep down know that there is something out there.
- 6:48We know there's something out there and we have this fire to be religious and
- 6:53we're going to guide this religion that's in our heart towards something.
- 6:58We're fundamentally religious. Everybody is.
- 7:01And Nietzsche, he was religious and he wanted to turn it towards the Superman,
- 7:06the Superman, whereas the real superman is
- 7:09jesus christ he's the he's the true superman
- 7:13and he's the one that will ultimately be proven
- 7:16right and ultimately will slay the dragon slay
- 7:19the devil slay you know the false prophet the antichrist and all that with the
- 7:23breath of his mouth but it's like it seems like everything is culminating into
- 7:26something to some final final verses showdown and i think we're getting closer
- 7:31and closer by the day but this this whole video this whole conference was pretty.
- 7:37Intriguing because when they delve into transhumanism, you can tell that it
- 7:42just, it feels like that.
- 7:43So many things are happening in this world. So many things are just coalescing
- 7:47into the God man of, of us trying to create something.
- 7:51We were going towards that. You can feel it in the air.
- 7:54All right. We'll leave it at that. So if you've enjoyed this video,
- 7:57hit this video over here and I'll see you on the other side.
