- 0:00Speaker 1: When we're on this like hold that close to your
- 0:01Speaker 1: lips what.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Freestyling yeah unfortunately like he's more of the you know.
- 0:10Speaker 3: I got it i got i got you i got
- 0:11Speaker 3: the first time with me on it though yeah and
- 0:13Speaker 3: so i do just to open it up yeah 2011
- 0:17Speaker 3: yeah 2011 like hey we got to block this guy
- 0:20Speaker 3: you remember wearing number four before yeah we got to
- 0:22Speaker 3: block this guy 27 tackles. You were the only guy
- 0:27Speaker 3: that made a tackle the whole day.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Because we donkied y'all. Yeah, true.
- 0:30Speaker 3: And you guys went crazy.
- 0:33Speaker 4: I do remember the meeting.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Levante was the only one talked about because even though
- 0:36Speaker 2: he had 27 tackles, I think in the books it
- 0:39Speaker 2: was like.
- 0:40Speaker 4: 17 or something like that.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And literally Bo was like, if we had more people
- 0:44Speaker 2: in here that had half the heart of Levante David,
- 0:47Speaker 2: he was a fucking warrior on the field.
- 0:49Speaker 1: And the rest of you just pissed on your leg.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Bro, and the way he had to be sitting there,
- 0:52Speaker 3: he couldn't be smiling or nothing. He had to be like.
- 0:54Speaker 4: I felt so bad. I felt so bad because it
- 0:55Speaker 4: was a blowout. Yeah. I felt so bad. I remember, like,
- 0:58Speaker 4: it was everything. It was just like... It was an
- 1:01Speaker 4: asshole thing. The only one who showed up to basically play.
- 1:04Speaker 4: It was, dude. It really was an ass-beating. We beat
- 1:07Speaker 4: the shit out of y'all. Yeah, but the next year? Yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 4: the next year. Denard got hurt.
- 1:11Speaker 2: We already got that. People can click on whatever... We
- 1:15Speaker 2: had Denard on. We did a spring tour thing, and
- 1:18Speaker 2: we had Denard on. We talked about that game because
- 1:20Speaker 2: they had, like, I think they averaged, like, two yards
- 1:23Speaker 2: a carry.
- 1:24Speaker 4: The next year? The next year. Yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 5: You're saying Denard didn't?
- 1:27Speaker 1: You know how the Blackshirt game worked.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I think that game. Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 4: We earned our Blackshirts that game.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Fonte gave us the juice we needed.
- 1:33Speaker 3: There's a nice little clip of me taking Will to
- 1:34Speaker 3: the sideline.
- 1:36Speaker 4: In the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter. Just trying
- 1:38Speaker 4: to show the scouts your boys are going to go. Yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 4: you guys were winning by what, 21?
- 1:43Speaker 2: I mean, it was like a two-score game, but you
- 1:44Speaker 2: guys were running late in the fourth. You guys were
- 1:47Speaker 2: trying to get out of there.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Yeah, our quarterback threw three interceptions. Yeah, immediately. For a
- 1:50Speaker 4: negative yard. Immediately threw three interceptions. It was awful. Did
- 1:53Speaker 4: Stanley catch a pick that game, I believe?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the first one when Denard got hurt and they
- 1:56Speaker 2: threw that first one, that's when Stanley got in.
- 1:58Speaker 4: That's what I remember. Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Let's get the word count up. So we're at practice yesterday.
- 2:02Speaker 3: And your big ass lines up at a five technique.
- 2:05Speaker 3: And what I tell you yesterday, the day before.
- 2:07Speaker 4: You did say something. What'd I say?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Don't fucking line up over here. Bro, I got to
- 2:12Speaker 3: cut you.
- 2:14Speaker 5: I got to shoot. I just got to do what
- 2:16Speaker 5: I'm told.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Like out on a tackle. Are you like excited about
- 2:21Speaker 2: that game plan? Or would you rather be inside? You know,
- 2:24Speaker 2: it just depends. I know most tackles. They're going to
- 2:26Speaker 2: jump set me.
- 2:27Speaker 5: Yes. Just because they know I'm going to come with power.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 5: So they try to jump set me to stop my momentum. So.
- 2:34Speaker 5: My move, I can't give away my move.
- 2:37Speaker 3: You swiping inside.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I'm doing something. Hey, I'm telling you, if this.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Man's ever, like last year when we practiced against them,
- 2:46Speaker 3: we were watching the film and we're like going back
- 2:48Speaker 3: over the film, like, hey, this is what these guys run,
- 2:49Speaker 3: 42 double A, blah, blah, blah. And so, but there
- 2:52Speaker 3: was one It was like third and nine or whatever.
- 2:54Speaker 3: And there was a tight end. You lined up at
- 2:56Speaker 3: a nine technique.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 3: And I said, I looked at the coach and said, hey,
- 2:59Speaker 3: this big motherfucker's out there. Like, don't expect me to
- 3:02Speaker 3: do my job. I'm getting, I got to block that guy.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You got to act like you're trying to get the
- 3:05Speaker 1: call from Tannehill and then just call timeout.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I couldn't fucking.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Bro, and then we were playing y'all, what was it? 20...
- 3:14Speaker 3: It was at our place, 2019. We're in the red zone, dude.
- 3:17Speaker 3: And JPP drops into coverage. So I went to slam
- 3:21Speaker 3: it back because there's probably pressure or something. And this
- 3:24Speaker 3: man catches his arm under mine. And it was basically
- 3:27Speaker 3: one of those, take me where you want. You're going
- 3:31Speaker 3: to take me wherever you want to go right now.
- 3:33Speaker 3: We threw a touchdown, but damn, I was in the
- 3:35Speaker 3: lap of the quarterback.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah. No chance.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Boogie, what should we get into with Vito about? You know, Boogie,
- 3:43Speaker 2: he gave you the record. He gave the recommendation of
- 3:44Speaker 2: you to come on the bus. Part of me was thinking, like,
- 3:47Speaker 2: should we get you and Devin on? Have you guys
- 3:50Speaker 2: said you're the two best, the best tandem in the league?
- 3:53Speaker 6: Devin said he'd been on before already.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Via Zoom, via Zoom, though.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 4: You asking me that? No, no, no, no.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I'm saying, because I asked you, who do you think
- 4:01Speaker 1: we should get on the bus?
- 4:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 6: I mentioned Cam Brick, and I said possibly Vida Bear,
- 4:05Speaker 6: because I was giving him shit. He was like, why
- 4:08Speaker 6: would you recommend Cam? I said, he was interviewing tight ends.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I know. I looked him up. I was like, oh,
- 4:13Speaker 2: he's just some big white tight end. And you're like, oh,
- 4:15Speaker 2: we've been interviewing tight ends, which is true.
- 4:17Speaker 4: We kind of need to get away with it. Okay.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Get away from it. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, we can't
- 4:22Speaker 4: be boxed in. I don't know. Heritage? What you like
- 4:27Speaker 4: to do? Boogie's got a huge... Talk about the.
- 4:30Speaker 5: What's the nickname behind Boogie?
- 4:34Speaker 4: Don't tell him that shit. I can... It's long enough.
- 4:36Speaker 4: It's been long enough. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 2: It's been long enough. This is a fun story, actually. So, Levante,
- 4:42Speaker 2: like any young college male, horny. Yeah. And so, we
- 4:50Speaker 2: would always joke with Boogie because, you know, he'd get...
- 4:54Speaker 2: he'd get himself into some situations. And Zo would always say, hey, Boogie,
- 5:00Speaker 2: you're like a.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Pit bull with the pink thing hanging out.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And we would laugh about it. And I told Boogie, like,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm going to name my first dog.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I'm going to get a pit bull, and I'm going
- 5:06Speaker 2: to name him Boogie.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Which happened. Little Red Rocket. What's up? Little Red Rocket. Yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 4: which happened.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I got my first dog, and I named him Boogie.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I remember texting Boogie and sending him a photo, like, hey,
- 5:15Speaker 2: I named my first pit boogie after you. Just, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 2: just joking. But that's how I got the nickname. That's
- 5:20Speaker 2: how I kind of elevated. Because Zo always called you
- 5:22Speaker 2: Boogie to begin with.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Zo was I. Our third running mate, basically, was in college. Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 1: But so, yeah, being horny, that's where he got the nickname.
- 5:31Speaker 4: You were like that in Nebraska? Like what? You know
- 5:34Speaker 4: what I'm saying, horny.
- 5:37Speaker 2: You know when your fellas get into some situations, you're like, man,
- 5:41Speaker 2: how'd you get yourself in that situation?
- 5:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And so, you know, that would be the inside joke.
- 5:46Speaker 6: I came from Juco, going to Nebraska, and it was
- 5:48Speaker 6: more open.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I could be more freely. So, shit. You said more open,
- 5:52Speaker 4: like it's the plains. Like, we're just running free in
- 5:53Speaker 4: the plains. Yeah, like, fuck. Kansas, it was shit. I mean... Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Kansas is a fucking not a... I mean, but Nebraska's
- 6:00Speaker 3: the exact same.
- 6:02Speaker 4: No, it was way bigger and better than Fort Scott, Kansas.
- 6:06Speaker 4: They talked about it being... I heard about Kansas. Pretty slummy. Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 6: It was pretty... I don't want to bash the town.
- 6:13Speaker 6: I mean, they showed a lot of love when I
- 6:14Speaker 6: was there, but, like, it was really nothing there. It
- 6:16Speaker 6: was just a Walmart there, basically.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but besides, like, the college... I've been to Nebraska.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but you come from Miami.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that too.
- 6:28Speaker 3: That had to be a huge transition going from Miami
- 6:30Speaker 3: to Kansas.
- 6:30Speaker 4: It was. It definitely was.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Everybody pretty much shit on.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 2: If you came from a big city or a big area,
- 6:35Speaker 2: everybody pretty much shit on Lincoln, Nebraska. Where I came from,
- 6:38Speaker 2: I thought Lincoln was like, oh, fuck.
- 6:40Speaker 4: This is a city. Everybody's like, this isn't shit. You
- 6:43Speaker 4: can do everything here. I mean, Lincoln wasn't bad.
- 6:46Speaker 6: I guess coming from Fort Scott, going to Lincoln, I
- 6:49Speaker 6: was like, oh, yeah, happy, but Obviously, I don't compare
- 6:52Speaker 6: nothing to Miami because, you know, Miami is Miami. So
- 6:55Speaker 6: I'm not going to this city thinking, oh, I get
- 6:58Speaker 6: the same thing I get down in Miami.
- 6:59Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Where'd you grow up?
- 7:02Speaker 4: I grew up in California, Northern California. What part? The
- 7:05Speaker 4: Bay Area. I was born in Sacramento. Look at the boys, huh?
- 7:09Speaker 4: Look at us. Find a little ground.
- 7:11Speaker 3: We're going to break through those walls eventually.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I know, right? Yeah. I love it. Soft-spoken. Stud. Soft-spoken.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Hard worker, too. What's that? What made you want to
- 7:19Speaker 4: go to Michigan?
- 7:20Speaker 3: I was a punk kid, dude, that wore the dicky
- 7:22Speaker 3: pants halfway down his ass and, like, the Bam Margera t-shirt.
- 7:25Speaker 3: What was that guy doing going to Michigan? Well, I
- 7:27Speaker 3: was going to get there. And so I was, like,
- 7:29Speaker 3: I was in this, like, fuck where I'm from type vibe.
- 7:31Speaker 3: And I was like, I need to go see Four Seasons.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I'm going to go somewhere else. Plus, Jake Long was, like,
- 7:35Speaker 3: the number one overall pick.
- 7:36Speaker 4: True.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So I was like, I'm going to go to Michigan.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Okay. Not offered by Nebraska. I know.
- 7:41Speaker 1: We got into that because we had Bo on.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Bo talked about how he recruited Taylor.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Oh, yeah?
- 7:46Speaker 2: He was like dumbfounded at why Taylor flew over all
- 7:49Speaker 2: these states and colleges to go to Nebraska.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Yeah. Michigan. Michigan. Oh, yeah. My fault. Yeah. Where'd you
- 7:54Speaker 4: go to school? Washington. University of Washington. Why didn't you
- 7:57Speaker 4: stay in California?
- 7:58Speaker 5: I had grades the other year. I didn't have grades
- 8:02Speaker 5: coming out of high school.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 5: And then it's like grades the other year. And then
- 8:07Speaker 5: I had a couple offers. And then after that, something happened.
- 8:11Speaker 5: And then UW was the only team that stuck with me.
- 8:13Speaker 5: And that was the only visit I took. And when
- 8:15Speaker 5: I went there, I was like, damn, this is a
- 8:16Speaker 5: nice place.
- 8:18Speaker 1: How do you not have the grades coming out of
- 8:20Speaker 1: high school?
- 8:22Speaker 5: It was just, I think it was just how I
- 8:23Speaker 5: grew up. It was my parents from the islands. So
- 8:26Speaker 5: it was just like, when I grew up in school,
- 8:29Speaker 5: it was just, I learned everything.
- 8:30Speaker 4: On my own.
- 8:31Speaker 5: Or not on my own, but like, cousins and relatives, like,
- 8:34Speaker 5: we learned from each other. But it was never a
- 8:37Speaker 5: big thing to, like, your grades in school were going
- 8:41Speaker 5: to get you to college. It was like, if you're
- 8:42Speaker 5: good at, it was always, if you're good in football,
- 8:44Speaker 5: you're going to go to college. And then I realized
- 8:47Speaker 5: it late, like, junior year, and I was behind, like,
- 8:49Speaker 5: credits in certain classes. I didn't have a language. I
- 8:53Speaker 5: never took a language. And then when I graded a year,
- 8:57Speaker 5: that's the only thing I needed. So I did uphold
- 9:00Speaker 5: my senior year after the football season I did a
- 9:03Speaker 5: whole bunch of, like, night school classes just to get
- 9:06Speaker 5: into college. And the only thing I was missing was
- 9:10Speaker 5: a language. And I bypassed it because I told them
- 9:13Speaker 5: I was fluent in Tongan, my heritage.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 5: And then, like, I had to do, like, a test with, like,
- 9:19Speaker 5: this Tongan lady. And, like, I had to do, like,
- 9:21Speaker 5: on a computer and stuff, just speaking Tongan. They spoke
- 9:26Speaker 5: to me in Tongan. I had to, like, translate it.
- 9:28Speaker 5: And then I passed it.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And then at that point, you only had the one
- 9:32Speaker 1: offer from Washington.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yep.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Washington's a loud spot to play at.
- 9:36Speaker 4: I lied, though. I lied.
- 9:38Speaker 5: I lied just to get more, try to get more offers.
- 9:41Speaker 5: When I did an interview or something, they'd always ask me,
- 9:44Speaker 5: like Max Preps or something. They're like, what offers you got?
- 9:47Speaker 5: And I was like, yeah, I got one from Tennessee.
- 9:48Speaker 4: No, you didn't have them? I didn't have them. I
- 9:52Speaker 4: was just saying them. Where did you boost that rating?
- 9:54Speaker 4: Get that rating up.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Where did you want to go? I grew up a
- 9:58Speaker 4: Stanford fan. Really? Yeah.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I don't know about Stanford. I was down the street.
- 10:02Speaker 2: No shot at getting a Stanford fan.
- 10:04Speaker 4: No, no shot.
- 10:05Speaker 5: No shot, but the crazy thing is my senior year,
- 10:08Speaker 5: we played against Stanford, and then their head coach came
- 10:11Speaker 5: up to me after the game and was like, he
- 10:13Speaker 5: was like, you're my favorite player in the Pac-12 right now.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And I was like, I was down the street four
- 10:18Speaker 4: years ago. You could have came and got me.
- 10:20Speaker 1: He's probably fired up to hear that.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I was.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Hey, Washington is where you kind of had your coming
- 10:24Speaker 1: out party.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Washington was. Yeah. First year, junior year. Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 5: 2010.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Yeah, because I broke my foot. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: First game, Levante comes out, has like 15 tackles. He's
- 10:35Speaker 2: like throwing up the bones, kills somebody over the middle.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And then whenever I come back, there's no job to
- 10:40Speaker 2: be had anymore. It was just all Levante.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Oh, my God. What a feeling. We are state friends.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I went to some... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 6: I mean, when I first got there, when I first
- 10:49Speaker 6: got there, Will, Zo, and all those boys, they was cool.
- 10:51Speaker 4: You know, they were cool. Like, kind of took... Will
- 10:53Speaker 4: was the.
- 10:54Speaker 6: The main one kind of like helped me, you know,
- 10:56Speaker 6: study and stuff like that, learn defense and stuff like that.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Pass it, Will Compton. Pass it, Will Compton. Literally, he
- 11:00Speaker 4: knew I was going to come in. He'd take everything.
- 11:03Speaker 3: He basically took everything.
- 11:07Speaker 4: He took everything from you.
- 11:08Speaker 2: But it was more of like frustration because we would
- 11:10Speaker 2: only run like dime packets to 11 personnel, like stuff
- 11:13Speaker 2: where you would have two linebacker sets. We would run
- 11:16Speaker 2: dime to fucking everything.
- 11:17Speaker 4: And I hated it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: He was like the lone linebacker.
- 11:19Speaker 4: I hated it. Why'd you hate it? I didn't want
- 11:21Speaker 4: to be the only backer out there. They were on
- 11:22Speaker 4: it with DBs and shit. I ain't like that. Like,
- 11:25Speaker 4: we playing the Big 12 playing against spread teams. You
- 11:27Speaker 4: know how that go.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:28Speaker 6: So, like, they don't want, you know, they want more speed,
- 11:30Speaker 6: I guess, out there on the field. And then the
- 11:32Speaker 6: next year, when we end up going to Big 10,
- 11:33Speaker 6: I basically told them, like, I don't want to be
- 11:35Speaker 6: out there by myself. I'll play the dime position and
- 11:38Speaker 6: then we'll play the mic.
- 11:39Speaker 4: And that's what happened. He gave me a job.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Legit he gave you a job yeah that's tough so
- 11:47Speaker 3: when you that for that whatever that year that you
- 11:49Speaker 3: guys are you know he stole everything from you there
- 11:52Speaker 3: was no animosity.
- 11:53Speaker 2: No way he came back not to him it was
- 11:55Speaker 2: more of like one of those situations to where you
- 11:58Speaker 2: thought you still had the spot because he was balling
- 12:01Speaker 2: and like I'm watching the film after the game because
- 12:03Speaker 2: I broke my foot yeah and I was like rushing
- 12:05Speaker 2: to come back type of thing because you're kind of
- 12:07Speaker 2: like witnessing like oh this motherfucker is he's a baller
- 12:10Speaker 2: and uh you would think that i was thinking that
- 12:13Speaker 2: he would move over to the to the diamond i'd
- 12:15Speaker 2: be the middle yeah when there was like no communication
- 12:18Speaker 2: it was more of like you know you were kind
- 12:20Speaker 2: of like shunned based off like damn nobody's like keeping
- 12:22Speaker 2: me in the loop we're talking to me about it
- 12:24Speaker 2: yeah type of thing yeah i'm honestly with him like
- 12:27Speaker 2: he's like i mean he's he's levante david.
- 12:30Speaker 3: You know he wasn't levante david then but you knew
- 12:33Speaker 3: he was coming like the first game he had 13 or.
- 12:36Speaker 4: 15 tackles 13 tackles.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah 13 tackles and then like playing against Washington he
- 12:41Speaker 2: was like the way he was like slipping blocks and
- 12:43Speaker 2: squeezing into certain just squeezing into certain tackles it's like
- 12:47Speaker 2: you knew he was gonna be a fucking dude and
- 12:50Speaker 2: sure enough like you you're in the top tackles list
- 12:53Speaker 2: playing two years at Nebraska.
- 12:55Speaker 5: Yeah who was that Washington remember what was the what
- 12:59Speaker 5: players were like the key players oh it was Jake
- 13:01Speaker 5: Locker Chris Polk yup Jake Locker 10 times Jermaine Kearse
- 13:07Speaker 5: The receiver?
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, he was there. They had another guy, too. Mason. Oh,
- 13:11Speaker 4: Mason Foster. Daniel T. and the Sheen.
- 13:14Speaker 5: RIP to Daniel. Oh, yep. I know the other receiver
- 13:17Speaker 5: you're talking about. I can't remember his name. It was
- 13:19Speaker 5: loud playing there, though.
- 13:20Speaker 4: It was loud. It was loud.
- 13:22Speaker 5: It was louder now. It was louder now because they re.
- 13:25Speaker 1: They built it up more? Because you guys should go
- 13:27Speaker 1: straight up.
- 13:27Speaker 3: They got the aluminum seats, too, so everything vibrates.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. It's literally straight up.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Like, you know how your guys' is surprisingly not that loud,
- 13:34Speaker 2: but it's because it's a bowl?
- 13:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Well, I'm just saying, like, you guys obviously have the capacity,
- 13:38Speaker 2: but their shit's.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Built, like, fucking straight up. They say the designer of
- 13:42Speaker 5: the Seahawks Stadium designed ours.
- 13:44Speaker 4: It's kind of the same. It's kind of the same.
- 13:45Speaker 5: So they dropped the field down more, and then the
- 13:49Speaker 5: way it's built, it's like it echoes off the... Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 13:53Speaker 5: You guys have all the boats.
- 13:55Speaker 4: On the water. I like that. I like that. Yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 4: it was, that was dope.
- 13:59Speaker 2: So getting drafted, do you have any, do you have a,
- 14:01Speaker 2: I was just going to move to him. Like you're
- 14:04Speaker 2: drafted in the first round. Um, talk to us about
- 14:07Speaker 2: like getting picked up by Tampa. You go from California,
- 14:10Speaker 2: you go from the West coast all the way to Florida. Like,
- 14:12Speaker 2: what was that transition?
- 14:13Speaker 5: Like, it was crazy. I knew nothing about Florida. I
- 14:16Speaker 5: was just, I was always on the West coast, California kid,
- 14:20Speaker 5: never really like got out of California. And then I
- 14:23Speaker 5: went to Washington. I was only like a two-hour flight away.
- 14:26Speaker 5: And then going from that cold to the heat, it
- 14:28Speaker 5: was just, it was crazy. I knew nobody, nothing about Florida.
- 14:32Speaker 5: And I came, got drafted. And my first year, it
- 14:36Speaker 5: was kind of hard.
- 14:36Speaker 4: It was rough.
- 14:37Speaker 5: I was like, I knew no one. I'd say he
- 14:39Speaker 5: was being mean.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Nah.
- 14:44Speaker 5: He wasn't that type of guy. I just wasn't used
- 14:46Speaker 5: to it. And it was hard for me to acclimate.
- 14:48Speaker 5: But then right now, transition to now, I love it there.
- 14:53Speaker 5: And it's crazy because when I first got there, I
- 14:56Speaker 5: was like, I was a fish out of water.
- 14:58Speaker 4: You got, Monte, they was over there. Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 5: They threw the whole playbook at me and I was like, damn.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 5: In college, like, we didn't, it got to a point,
- 15:08Speaker 5: it got to a point when we were in college
- 15:09Speaker 5: that we were so good up front that they gave us, like,
- 15:14Speaker 5: free range, kind of. And it was just like, we
- 15:16Speaker 5: didn't have any, like, blitzes, like, barely blitzes. We had,
- 15:20Speaker 5: a good enough D line that we rushed like basically
- 15:23Speaker 5: three every time on third down.
- 15:27Speaker 1: So you basically lined up and just played high.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Yeah, we just lined up wherever we wanted.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Just played backyard football with the boys. Yeah, that's basically
- 15:32Speaker 5: what happened. Not to a T, but that's basically how
- 15:36Speaker 5: it went down, how I felt about it. And then
- 15:38Speaker 5: when I came to NFL, they were throwing me all
- 15:41Speaker 5: these plays. It was like, what's this? I was like,
- 15:44Speaker 5: what they got in the fire zone? I was like,
- 15:46Speaker 5: I don't know. What the hell's a fire zone?
- 15:49Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 15:49Speaker 5: I was like, I don't know what the hell's a
- 15:51Speaker 5: fire zone.
- 15:54Speaker 3: How do you feel about it now? You're all dialed
- 15:55Speaker 3: in now?
- 15:56Speaker 5: I'm all dialed in. Well, our D-line coach used to
- 15:58Speaker 5: be a D-coordinator. So when he came in my second year,
- 16:02Speaker 5: it was just, we'd be in the meeting. He, like,
- 16:04Speaker 5: tells everybody's fucked up. He messed up right here. So
- 16:08Speaker 5: now it's just, like, we're in meetings. Like, you know
- 16:11Speaker 5: who fucked up already. And, like, you know all the plays.
- 16:14Speaker 5: You guys say, like, normally when the D linemen wait,
- 16:19Speaker 5: normally D linemen wait for the linebackers to give the call.
- 16:21Speaker 5: When we're out there, like, we're giving the calls, too.
- 16:24Speaker 5: We know it's just like.
- 16:26Speaker 4: What the front's supposed to be set at. You play
- 16:28Speaker 4: in the back like Derrick Henry. Tupac, Biggie.
- 16:33Speaker 5: You play a running back against, like, Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara,
- 16:38Speaker 5: and they got to cover him. They're not worried about
- 16:41Speaker 5: giving us the call, so he's like, My first year,
- 16:43Speaker 5: our first year, that's how it was, like, because we
- 16:45Speaker 5: knew nothing. And we'd just be out there, like, what's
- 16:47Speaker 5: it called, what's it called, what's it called? But now
- 16:50Speaker 5: they just give us the play, and then we'll be
- 16:52Speaker 5: able to line each other up.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Like, his rookie year, our coach at the time, he
- 16:55Speaker 6: made everybody, like, try to learn every, like, we had
- 16:58Speaker 6: some shit called Kahoot, right?
- 17:00Speaker 4: Kahoot. Kahoot.
- 17:01Speaker 6: So, like, D-Line had to say what everybody had, like,
- 17:04Speaker 6: what this guy had in the drop, what coverage this
- 17:07Speaker 6: is and everything. Like, I'm like, come on, man. D-line
- 17:09Speaker 6: don't need to know all that. What they need to know,
- 17:11Speaker 6: the coverage is on the back end and shit like that.
- 17:13Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 17:13Speaker 6: Just get them boys to front and let them just
- 17:15Speaker 6: go play football. So when Casey came in, Casey... Casey
- 17:19Speaker 6: changed the whole game. Now it's like we hear the
- 17:21Speaker 6: whole call.
- 17:22Speaker 5: You hear 51, and they only playing one high, and
- 17:26Speaker 5: they playing man. They can't cover forever, so the rush
- 17:29Speaker 5: got to get there. You know what I'm saying? When
- 17:31Speaker 5: they play, you think about it, and man, bad shit
- 17:34Speaker 5: happen when it's like not all corners are good. I'm
- 17:38Speaker 5: not saying... Talking bad about our corner, but bad shit
- 17:41Speaker 5: happens when we're a man. It's just like something general.
- 17:44Speaker 6: It's the NFL, right?
- 17:45Speaker 5: It's the NFL. Their receivers, they're in the NFL too,
- 17:48Speaker 5: so it's like.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah. And you don't.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Want to be in cover one against like the Saints
- 17:53Speaker 2: and Kamara.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Yeah. You can't cover guys like that all day. Yeah. Yeah, basically.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Basically, like when we be giving the front, like we'll
- 18:02Speaker 6: get a coverage call and they like We'll get a
- 18:04Speaker 6: coverage call and they basically already know the front. So
- 18:06Speaker 6: it's kind of like easier for everybody to get the
- 18:08Speaker 6: call quick. And like when we're in a situation like
- 18:11Speaker 6: two men and shit like that, we just worry about
- 18:13Speaker 6: the coverage and they take.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Care of the front. Basically shit like that.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Seems like y'all run intricate ass games though. Like you
- 18:19Speaker 3: guys have, like you have a nine and all of
- 18:22Speaker 3: a sudden he'll just go spike to the A gap.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Like randomly in a whole, like you guys do some
- 18:26Speaker 3: wild shit.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Just in practice.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Just crazy stuff. Like I said, we started this whole
- 18:31Speaker 3: thing out. You line up on the outside randomly and.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Stuff like that. Yeah, it's just... It's just crazy. Nah.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Nah, hey, listen.
- 18:38Speaker 4: They too big.
- 18:40Speaker 3: And the thing about you too, dude, as a nose, like,
- 18:41Speaker 3: a lot of noses don't play hard. Like, you play hard.
- 18:45Speaker 3: That's got to be love for you.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Yeah, very love. Yeah. Like, I seen it from the get-go.
- 18:48Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Like, I played with Jerry McCoy, and I seen how
- 18:52Speaker 6: hard he used to play. I used to turn and
- 18:53Speaker 6: run to the ball. Like, there's been times where, like,
- 18:56Speaker 6: you know, if he, like we run into the ball
- 18:58Speaker 6: and he passed me up, I'm like, what the fuck?
- 18:59Speaker 6: I'm pissed, like it's pissing me off. And then I
- 19:01Speaker 6: started to see him do it and I'm like, okay,
- 19:03Speaker 6: we getting somewhere. You know, we got something. And Vita, like,
- 19:06Speaker 6: that's all that matters. If you play hard, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 6: all that other stuff gonna come about. You know, as
- 19:09Speaker 6: a rookie, he coming in, just, you know, big guy,
- 19:13Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying? You know, you know, they
- 19:15Speaker 6: don't own them by the way and stuff like that.
- 19:16Speaker 6: And then he out there trying to run into the
- 19:18Speaker 6: football and I'm like, okay, you.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Know, we can. Big as you want, you run like that.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Big thing. So, and then shit, It just go from there.
- 19:26Speaker 4: That's the main thing, too, though.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Like, we always were about, you know, just playing hard
- 19:29Speaker 6: no matter what, you know, on the defense.
- 19:31Speaker 5: That's the thing. I never played nose before until I
- 19:34Speaker 5: got to college. So, in high school, I played running back,
- 19:37Speaker 5: no linebacker.
- 19:38Speaker 4: I wasn't this big. How big were you?
- 19:42Speaker 5: I was, like, 250. And when I gray shirted, I...
- 19:45Speaker 5: 250 as a running back? I carried the weight well,
- 19:51Speaker 5: so I didn't really look that big.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Look at this man out here. Bro, you're massive. Imagine
- 20:00Speaker 3: trying to tackle you there.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Imagine feeling that stiff arm, dude.
- 20:03Speaker 3: That kid's in a wheelchair now.
- 20:05Speaker 4: His vertebrae's getting compressed.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Are you kidding me? Like, you got CT from that
- 20:09Speaker 5: one play. My senior year, I didn't play no D-line.
- 20:12Speaker 5: All I played was running back and no linebacker. And
- 20:15Speaker 5: that was the funny thing when I played.
- 20:17Speaker 4: When I played.
- 20:17Speaker 5: Linebacker, all I did was blitz every single play. That's
- 20:21Speaker 5: all I did. I was like, I didn't know.
- 20:23Speaker 3: You really didn't have to learn ball until you got
- 20:25Speaker 3: to the NFL.
- 20:25Speaker 4: I didn't know.
- 20:26Speaker 5: Even when I was on offense, like the quarterback, I
- 20:29Speaker 5: was like, which way am I running?
- 20:30Speaker 4: Just go this way. He said just go this way.
- 20:33Speaker 3: He'd point for you, and you just.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Ripped that way. On defense, I was just... Blitz every
- 20:38Speaker 5: single play. There was only one time I ever dropped
- 20:41Speaker 5: back in coverage and it was like to win the game.
- 20:43Speaker 5: It was like last play situation. I dropped back into
- 20:46Speaker 5: coverage and it was my first time I got PBU
- 20:49Speaker 5: and we won the game. I just seen some dude
- 20:52Speaker 5: running like a deep over and I just started chasing him.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Seeing the ball out, I dove and batted the ball
- 20:56Speaker 5: down and we won and I was like, no one
- 20:59Speaker 5: noticed it. In my mind, Inside, I was like, damn,
- 21:03Speaker 5: that was like the biggest play ever to me. No
- 21:05Speaker 5: one noticed me.
- 21:06Speaker 4: I got up.
- 21:07Speaker 5: I thought everyone was going to come jump on me
- 21:08Speaker 5: and make it a play. And they were just like, no.
- 21:11Speaker 2: We weren't going to score anyway. His coaches are definitely
- 21:14Speaker 2: just like, how did we just put him in the right?
- 21:15Speaker 2: How did we just let him?
- 21:17Speaker 4: It makes sense why he didn't get a lot of offers.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Running back and middle linebacker.
- 21:21Speaker 4: That's true, too. You know what I'm saying?
- 21:24Speaker 5: When I got to UW, I didn't know I was
- 21:26Speaker 5: going to play nose because I gray-shirted. You got to think,
- 21:29Speaker 5: I gray-shirted a year. And I gained 100 pounds. Let's
- 21:33Speaker 5: put a timeout real quick. How did you gain 100
- 21:35Speaker 5: pounds in a year? I don't know. All I did
- 21:40Speaker 5: was go to Juco and did classes for me to
- 21:47Speaker 5: be able to go to UW. And then outside of that,
- 21:51Speaker 5: how I got strong was I did construction work, like
- 21:55Speaker 5: landscaping stuff. And like, I just went and I did
- 21:58Speaker 5: all the hard, I did all like the hard, like
- 21:59Speaker 5: the hard labor stuff.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Bring concrete and stuff, stuff like that. And just like,
- 22:05Speaker 5: I did it with my uncles and stuff, but like,
- 22:07Speaker 5: and their payment to me was like feeding me.
- 22:09Speaker 4: I didn't get paid cash.
- 22:11Speaker 5: They just, they just fed me to wake up, go
- 22:13Speaker 5: to work, do the class, go do like break concrete
- 22:17Speaker 5: and then get fed. And that's all we did was
- 22:19Speaker 5: just like eat, eat, do construction work.
- 22:22Speaker 2: There's no moment of this gaining of 100 pounds you're like,
- 22:25Speaker 2: maybe I shouldn't.
- 22:26Speaker 4: You think around 20 and go, hmm. I need to
- 22:28Speaker 4: stay a little slender. I felt it.
- 22:30Speaker 5: I definitely felt it because I knew once I broke 300,
- 22:34Speaker 5: my back started hurting like walking around. I was like, golly.
- 22:37Speaker 5: That's why I always told everyone. That's why I always
- 22:41Speaker 5: told everyone. Once you go over 300, you'll feel it.
- 22:45Speaker 5: Your back starts hurting, but then you get used to
- 22:47Speaker 5: the weight. It was just like when I went to UW,
- 22:50Speaker 5: The funny thing was I thought I was going to
- 22:52Speaker 5: play outside linebacker.
- 22:53Speaker 4: At 300 pounds?
- 22:54Speaker 5: And I was like 370 when I got to UW.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Were the coaches checking in with you at all?
- 23:01Speaker 4: Here's the thing.
- 23:03Speaker 3: The coach was like, hey, let me come see you
- 23:04Speaker 3: real quick.
- 23:05Speaker 4: And they'd be like. Here's the thing, though. Here's the thing.
- 23:07Speaker 4: He just walks in 370.
- 23:09Speaker 5: You know how you take a visit?
- 23:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:12Speaker 5: They take you to the weight room. You step on
- 23:13Speaker 5: a scale. They measure you out and stuff.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 5: I didn't think they cared because I stepped on a scale.
- 23:17Speaker 5: That was the first time I ever weighed myself in
- 23:19Speaker 5: that year. And I was like, 373. And I was just,
- 23:22Speaker 5: I was like, oh, shoot. My heart kind of dropped.
- 23:25Speaker 5: I thought, like, damn, they're about to drop my offer,
- 23:28Speaker 5: this and that. And then, what's it called? After that,
- 23:31Speaker 5: they started taking me to all these restaurants and, like,
- 23:33Speaker 5: feeding me, like, normally what they do on a visit.
- 23:35Speaker 5: So I was like, oh, they probably don't care. They
- 23:37Speaker 5: feed me all this damn food. And I came back.
- 23:41Speaker 5: I was out of shape. They got me into shape, whatever.
- 23:43Speaker 5: I thought I was coming in playing outside linebacker. You
- 23:46Speaker 5: still thought that even at 370. Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 23:49Speaker 4: And no one said anything to you? No.
- 23:51Speaker 3: You're probably going to play nose.
- 23:53Speaker 4: They didn't say anything.
- 23:53Speaker 5: I came in thinking I was going to play outside linebacker.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Because that's all I played in high school. When I
- 23:59Speaker 5: came in, they were like, you play nose.
- 24:01Speaker 4: I didn't. That was like a whole new world. How
- 24:04Speaker 4: mad were you?
- 24:04Speaker 5: Huh?
- 24:05Speaker 4: How mad were you?
- 24:06Speaker 5: I wasn't mad. I was just like, I was more scared.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Because I was just like, the thing is, the closer
- 24:13Speaker 5: you are to the bar, the faster things happen. I
- 24:16Speaker 5: was like playing nose. I started getting like knocked out
- 24:18Speaker 5: the ball. And then the good thing is I had
- 24:21Speaker 5: Danny Shelton when he was there. He was like a
- 24:24Speaker 5: true nose guard. And I learned from him. And basically
- 24:28Speaker 5: that's what really helped me because I watched him, studied him,
- 24:30Speaker 5: him playing college. And then that was, that's really the
- 24:34Speaker 5: reason why I feel like I'm the nose that I
- 24:37Speaker 5: am today.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Is it Danny? Is it Danny? What's Danny doing now?
- 24:40Speaker 4: Where's he at?
- 24:40Speaker 5: He's with the Chiefs right now. He was balling, though,
- 24:42Speaker 5: his senior at UW. I think the first two games,
- 24:45Speaker 5: he had like seven sacks. Oh, but he was like that.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yeah. He went to Cleveland first?
- 24:52Speaker 5: He got drafted to Cleveland, went to the Patriots, Detroit,
- 24:55Speaker 5: now he's at the Chiefs.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Bro, that story's funny, man. You listen to him, and
- 24:59Speaker 2: it seems like he's just like an innocent kid who just.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Had no clue.
- 25:02Speaker 3: No idea, but we all kind of work.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I weighed 373.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Legit, when you're in high school, though, the things you
- 25:06Speaker 3: think about that they don't matter at all. But you think, hey,
- 25:10Speaker 3: these coaches probably think X, Y, and Z, and you're
- 25:12Speaker 3: just totally off.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Our head coach in high school, he didn't care. He
- 25:15Speaker 5: was like, he wanted us to be heavy. And it
- 25:19Speaker 5: was like, there was like one time, my senior year
- 25:23Speaker 5: in high school, the whole line was just tongans. They
- 25:28Speaker 5: were like 340 pounds, my size. And they were just
- 25:31Speaker 5: across the board. That was the funniest thing.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Fantastic ass.
- 25:36Speaker 4: That was the funniest thing.
- 25:37Speaker 1: If you're like an all-white team, you're lining up like, fuck.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Yeah, dude. That's badass, though.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I mean, where I'm from, because you would go to
- 25:44Speaker 1: the city and play like an all-black team, and you're like, oh, fuck.
- 25:49Speaker 4: For real, dude.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I feel like Tong and guys are just like denser cats.
- 25:53Speaker 3: You guys are just built different, man. I mean, 250
- 25:56Speaker 3: are running back.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, terrifying.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Middle linebacker.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Terrifying.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Blitzing every play.
- 26:00Speaker 3: And what school is this that's just all Tongans playing?
- 26:03Speaker 3: I've never heard of that demographic.
- 26:06Speaker 5: It was a school called Milpitas High School.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:08Speaker 5: In California, there's a lot of Pacific Islanders. So it
- 26:12Speaker 5: was just, that was a thing. There was sometimes, you like,
- 26:14Speaker 5: you face schools that had the same thing. So you're like, dang.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Who's the better... Who's, like, the better Polynesian? Me or you?
- 26:23Speaker 2: How's... When you first got to the league, like, what
- 26:25Speaker 2: was it like being under Levante David over here?
- 26:29Speaker 1: Him as a leader. Him being a vocal guy. Because
- 26:31Speaker 1: I hear he's a vocal guy now.
- 26:33Speaker 4: He wasn't... He was.
- 26:34Speaker 5: When I got in, he was more, like, led by example.
- 26:37Speaker 5: That's how he led. And we had Quan. He was
- 26:41Speaker 5: the vocal guy in the linebacker room or on our defense. So...
- 26:46Speaker 5: Quan was the vocal guy, and Tay was the, he
- 26:50Speaker 5: was like the Ali by example. So it was just like,
- 26:53Speaker 5: when I'd mess up, it was just like, damn, I
- 26:56Speaker 5: felt like I let Tay down. And there was one game,
- 26:59Speaker 5: it was just, because I was new, and like, I
- 27:02Speaker 5: came in, I went 3-4 nose, and they drafted me
- 27:04Speaker 5: into a 4-3 defense. So it was like a way
- 27:07Speaker 5: different style of play for me. And I was just
- 27:10Speaker 5: like trying to learn it. It was all different. And
- 27:13Speaker 5: the technique that they wanted us to play, I kept
- 27:15Speaker 5: getting a reach. I remember it. It was a Cincinnati game.
- 27:20Speaker 5: What did they run?
- 27:23Speaker 4: They ran like.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Press open or press. And what's it called? It was
- 27:27Speaker 5: like they were zoning. I was a shade every single play.
- 27:31Speaker 5: And for like four plays straight, I got reached by
- 27:34Speaker 5: the nose. And they were running through my A-gap, running
- 27:36Speaker 5: through my A-gap. And I was like, I was just like,
- 27:39Speaker 5: I didn't know what the hell was going on. I
- 27:40Speaker 5: was like, what the hell is going on? We got
- 27:44Speaker 5: to the sideline and Tay came up to our bench.
- 27:47Speaker 5: He said, if you don't know what the fuck you're doing,
- 27:49Speaker 5: get the fuck out. I was like, oh, shoot. After that,
- 27:53Speaker 5: that's when I was like, damn, I got to lock
- 27:55Speaker 5: it in. That was the funniest thing ever.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Just a soft-spoken cat, man. He's like, damn, I got
- 28:00Speaker 3: to lock it in. Because some dudes get yelled at
- 28:02Speaker 3: like that. You're like, no, fuck you.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Not you, dude.
- 28:04Speaker 3: You're like, I got to lock it in. So what
- 28:05Speaker 3: happened after?
- 28:07Speaker 4: It changed ever since. Shit, he got better.
- 28:09Speaker 5: It changed ever since. But I think when we got
- 28:11Speaker 5: these new coaches.
- 28:12Speaker 4: They don't fucking know how to get the fuck out.
- 28:14Speaker 5: When we got these new coaches, it was more my
- 28:16Speaker 5: style of play because I'm more like a two gap
- 28:19Speaker 5: type of nose. I can play both, but I rather
- 28:23Speaker 5: prefer like two gapping and just like, I'd hold the double,
- 28:26Speaker 5: let the linebackers run. I get the center, let Tay
- 28:29Speaker 5: run free. And I feel like that's where I thrive
- 28:33Speaker 5: at as a nose tackle. And I feel like.
- 28:36Speaker 1: And that was in the last, this has been in
- 28:38Speaker 1: the last couple years, right?
- 28:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:40Speaker 5: But that's how it was in college. And it was
- 28:43Speaker 5: just like, my job was to eat double teams, plays
- 28:47Speaker 5: come to me, make the play. Let the linebackers run.
- 28:50Speaker 2: And then like, because a couple years ago, you got
- 28:54Speaker 2: put on IR, right?
- 28:55Speaker 4: Yeah. You got injured.
- 28:56Speaker 1: What was that like?
- 28:57Speaker 2: Because you go from being injured, then last year you
- 28:59Speaker 2: obviously become, you know, you get your first Pro Bowl.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Were there times with that new staff to where you're
- 29:03Speaker 2: kind of like, fuck, man.
- 29:05Speaker 5: That was crazy, because that was our second year with them.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Second year with the new regime.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 5: And I felt like... You was having a good ass year, too.
- 29:14Speaker 5: I felt like I was picking up to have the
- 29:16Speaker 5: best year of my life.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 5: And it was like the game was finally slowing down.
- 29:20Speaker 5: And I remember at meetings, we were playing Chicago. This
- 29:22Speaker 5: is your year three?
- 29:23Speaker 4: Who? That was your second year. Year three. Second year
- 29:26Speaker 4: with the VA. Yeah. Or with the new coach. This
- 29:28Speaker 4: is your fourth year right now? Fifth year. Fifth year.
- 29:31Speaker 4: You signed a new deal? Yep. He did. It was like, what,
- 29:34Speaker 4: four years, 70s? Something?
- 29:36Speaker 1: What was it?
- 29:37Speaker 4: We can look it up.
- 29:38Speaker 3: We'll Google it right now if you don't want to
- 29:39Speaker 3: send it.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Say. Four years, like, 71, I want to say.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Man, I hope you're not living in California still.
- 29:49Speaker 2: No.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah, the taxes, huh? The taxes get crazy now.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Florida.
- 29:54Speaker 3: So you won't ever forget you're playing Chicago and what happened?
- 29:56Speaker 5: You were having the, yeah, you were fixing the best
- 29:58Speaker 5: year of your career. I felt like I was having
- 29:59Speaker 5: the best year of my life. Game was slowing down.
- 30:00Speaker 5: I remember, like, that Chicago game, I was probably having, like,
- 30:04Speaker 5: the best game of my career in the NFL so far.
- 30:07Speaker 5: And the game was, like, slowing down. Like, everything we
- 30:09Speaker 5: watched in film, everything I studied, like, I saw. Like,
- 30:13Speaker 5: one of the plays was, like, I know, I remember, was, like,
- 30:16Speaker 5: our coach told us, like, when the receiver motions into
- 30:18Speaker 5: a cut split, you'll be on the back side. And
- 30:22Speaker 5: I was on the back side of the lineup at
- 30:23Speaker 5: a two-eye. They said, that guard will cut you. I
- 30:26Speaker 5: seen it. I was in my stance, seeing the receiver
- 30:29Speaker 5: motion in, cut split. I was like, all right, I'm
- 30:31Speaker 5: on the backside. This guard's about to cut me. Sure enough,
- 30:35Speaker 5: normally when those tendencies pop up, you're like, I know
- 30:39Speaker 5: it's going to happen, but I still got to play honest.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 5: It might not happen. There's a chance it might not happen.
- 30:46Speaker 5: And I went, and he took like a little bucket step,
- 30:50Speaker 5: and I knew he was going to cut me. I
- 30:51Speaker 5: played the cut block and ran down the line and
- 30:53Speaker 5: got a TFL. And I was just like, sitting there,
- 30:56Speaker 5: I was like, that's crazy. That just happened. I got
- 30:59Speaker 5: a sack, got a couple TFLs. And then at the end,
- 31:01Speaker 5: it was like in the two minute, like the last minute,
- 31:05Speaker 5: minute and a half, they had to go down and
- 31:08Speaker 5: score three, kick the field and win the game.
- 31:11Speaker 4: And it was crazy.
- 31:12Speaker 5: It was like a hustle play. Like they ran like
- 31:14Speaker 5: a screen. I was running out. Running back was like
- 31:17Speaker 5: dancing behind the tackle. And I finally got to him.
- 31:20Speaker 5: And me and Devin got to him at the same time.
- 31:23Speaker 5: And then Devin, like, crashed into my ankle. And it
- 31:26Speaker 5: was just, it wasn't Devin's fault. It was just, like,
- 31:28Speaker 5: one of those freak accidents.
- 31:29Speaker 1: And what was the injury?
- 31:31Speaker 5: Broke my ankle, tore my deltoid.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Fuck.
- 31:34Speaker 5: And it was just, it was crazy. But then after that,
- 31:38Speaker 5: it was just, I was like, damn, the season's over
- 31:41Speaker 5: for me. It was crazy. But when we got onto
- 31:43Speaker 5: the bus right after the game, we lost. It was
- 31:46Speaker 5: the funniest thing ever because I was just like, I
- 31:49Speaker 5: thought we were going to win. I was like, we
- 31:50Speaker 5: got Brady. He's about to do some magic. That's got
- 31:54Speaker 5: to be, like, Brady, too.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Like, damn this court. All right, Brady. We got Brady.
- 32:00Speaker 4: I was over there.
- 32:00Speaker 5: I was like, they pulled me straight into, like, the x-ray.
- 32:03Speaker 5: And it was, like, right into the tunnel. Put me
- 32:06Speaker 5: straight into the x-ray. And I was like, it's probably, like,
- 32:08Speaker 5: an ankle sprain or something. They told me he broke
- 32:10Speaker 5: the news to me right there. And they were like, oh,
- 32:12Speaker 5: he broke your ankle.
- 32:13Speaker 4: And I was like, damn.
- 32:14Speaker 5: I was on the crutches. Like, you want to go
- 32:16Speaker 5: to the locker room? I was over there standing in
- 32:18Speaker 5: the hallway thinking I was, like, in the movie or something. Like,
- 32:22Speaker 5: they probably won the game. I was like, I was,
- 32:25Speaker 5: I was in my head. I was like, they probably
- 32:26Speaker 5: won the game. I'm going to go stay in the hallway.
- 32:28Speaker 5: They're going to come down.
- 32:28Speaker 4: They're going to be like, it's a movie shit. And
- 32:31Speaker 4: I was like, they're going to get me on the video.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Look at Vito. He's hurt. We're cheering his team from
- 32:35Speaker 4: the tunnel.
- 32:36Speaker 3: That's fucking awesome, dude.
- 32:39Speaker 5: That was the funniest shit ever. I came out and
- 32:41Speaker 5: I was like, what happened? It's like, they lost.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Coach, you're not stuck in the locker room.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Like, I got to get out of here.
- 32:47Speaker 5: He's holding him up. I felt like, I was like,
- 32:50Speaker 5: I was mad that we lost. The car came up.
- 32:52Speaker 5: He was like, you want to ride? I was like,
- 32:54Speaker 5: get the fuck out of my face. I was mad
- 32:56Speaker 5: as hell. But then when we got onto the bus
- 32:58Speaker 5: right after the game, after everybody showered and got onto
- 33:01Speaker 5: the bus, Sue was like, what happened?
- 33:03Speaker 4: He looked at me. He was like, what happened? I
- 33:05Speaker 4: told him.
- 33:05Speaker 5: He was like, they said I broke my ankle. And
- 33:07Speaker 5: he was like, he's the one who put it in
- 33:09Speaker 5: my head, put it in my brain. I was like,
- 33:11Speaker 5: you can make it back if we go to the playoffs.
- 33:15Speaker 5: I was like, what the hell? He told me the
- 33:18Speaker 5: year when he played. I was like, what the hell?
- 33:20Speaker 5: How do you know this? He started telling me. He
- 33:22Speaker 5: was like, yeah, when we played, I played for the Rams.
- 33:25Speaker 5: That's what Aqib Tlaib did. He was on IR all
- 33:28Speaker 5: year and came back for the playoffs. He put it
- 33:31Speaker 5: on my mind. That's what I always told everybody in
- 33:35Speaker 5: the building. I showed up. I still came to meetings
- 33:37Speaker 5: every day. I was coming to meetings. I came to
- 33:41Speaker 5: meetings that next day. They were like, damn, are you
- 33:42Speaker 5: still here? I was like, yeah, I'm about to make
- 33:44Speaker 5: it back. And no one believed me. They're like, nah,
- 33:47Speaker 5: you're not coming back. The training room, they're like, nah,
- 33:49Speaker 5: you're not coming back. Then they noticed, like, how fast
- 33:51Speaker 5: I was healing. Then it got to a point they
- 33:53Speaker 5: were like, everybody was on board. And it was like,
- 33:58Speaker 5: it was crazy because, like, we knew we were going
- 34:00Speaker 5: to the Super Bowl. It was just like, it was
- 34:02Speaker 5: like a thing. It was like, we're going to the
- 34:03Speaker 5: Super Bowl. And I was like, my biggest, we called it, like,
- 34:07Speaker 5: this is my fight camp. You know how fighters, they have, like,
- 34:09Speaker 5: a boxing camp, like, three-month boxing camp? I was, like,
- 34:11Speaker 5: two months out. And it was like, this is your
- 34:13Speaker 5: fight camp, like, I was still in the cast and
- 34:16Speaker 5: I like, I had to go work out. But like,
- 34:19Speaker 5: I was like, I would wet my cast on purpose,
- 34:22Speaker 5: on purpose. Just so every time I go change it
- 34:25Speaker 5: like twice a week, they get pissed. But my, my,
- 34:28Speaker 5: my thought behind it was like, when they change my
- 34:30Speaker 5: cast and they take it off, I'm gonna move my
- 34:32Speaker 5: ankle around. So that's more, I'm working on my mobility.
- 34:35Speaker 5: And that would be hella funny. Cause they were like,
- 34:37Speaker 5: what happened? I was like, I gotta use the shower.
- 34:40Speaker 5: And every time I shower, like the trash bag, not
- 34:42Speaker 5: holding it. The water is not keeping the water out.
- 34:44Speaker 5: And I'll just be pouring a water bottle down. The
- 34:49Speaker 5: doctor will, like, take my cast off and leave the
- 34:51Speaker 5: room and get the supplies. And I'll be in there, like,
- 34:53Speaker 5: moving my ankle around.
- 34:55Speaker 4: Yo, that's pretty fucking cool. That's kind of genius. Yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 4: That is genius. Bro, that is genius.
- 34:59Speaker 3: You get in there and cast for a little bit.
- 35:00Speaker 3: You don't think it's stiff.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Isn't that dope that, like, that was your mindset about it?
- 35:06Speaker 5: That was wild fucking insane. And that was the thing.
- 35:10Speaker 5: We knew the Super Bowl was going to be in
- 35:12Speaker 5: our stadium. And I was like, it's right here. It's like,
- 35:17Speaker 5: it's already written. We're going to be there.
- 35:18Speaker 2: What made you guys feel so confident about it? Because
- 35:21Speaker 2: you guys didn't even win your division that year.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Well, and up to that point, there's never been a,
- 35:25Speaker 3: wherever the Super Bowl was hosted, no teams ever won
- 35:29Speaker 3: it in their own stadium.
- 35:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 35:30Speaker 5: But then it was just, we got to a point
- 35:34Speaker 5: where we couldn't lose. Like, our last eight games, we
- 35:37Speaker 5: couldn't lose. Like, if we lost a game, we wouldn't
- 35:39Speaker 5: make the playoffs. Yeah.
- 35:41Speaker 4: And we won, like, eight straight. Right, because I.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Remember the Saints beating y'all pretty easily.
- 35:46Speaker 6: So, like, we had, like, a playoff mentality, like, around
- 35:48Speaker 6: week 13, week 14. Like, every game, we must win. Like,
- 35:52Speaker 6: that's the mentality we had. So, like, we came back
- 35:55Speaker 6: from the bye week. So, like, after the bye week,
- 35:57Speaker 6: it was like, oh, shit. Because we lost to the Chiefs.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Chiefs, and then we had a bye week. Yeah, and
- 36:01Speaker 4: then we had the bye week. And, like, after that,
- 36:04Speaker 4: it was just, like, you know, every game here on out.
- 36:06Speaker 6: We were 7-5. So, like, every game here on out, like,
- 36:09Speaker 6: we have to win to make the playoffs. And, like,
- 36:11Speaker 6: that just was our mindset. And, like, as it got
- 36:13Speaker 6: closer and closer towards the end of the season, we
- 36:15Speaker 6: kept telling him, like, we're going to make it for you.
- 36:16Speaker 6: We're going to make it for you. Because we knew
- 36:18Speaker 6: his plan, what his plan was to try to come back.
- 36:21Speaker 5: And it was crazy because, like, the first, our first,
- 36:23Speaker 5: the wild card game, we played against the Redskins. And
- 36:27Speaker 5: we won that. We beat them. And we had the Commanders.
- 36:30Speaker 5: It was a close game, too.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Commanders, my bad. Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 5: And then we had, we played the Saints. And, like,
- 36:36Speaker 5: since I've been here, we, like, never beat the Saints.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 5: And that was, like, They killed us twice that year.
- 36:43Speaker 5: And it was just like, if we get past them,
- 36:45Speaker 5: we're gonna win. And that's how we knew. We beat them.
- 36:48Speaker 5: And that was like the only team in our division
- 36:51Speaker 5: we couldn't get over.
- 36:52Speaker 4: That was the hump.
- 36:53Speaker 5: And we beat them. And it was like, right then
- 36:55Speaker 5: and there, we were like, we're gonna win. And that
- 36:58Speaker 5: was like the next week was the NFC Championship in
- 37:00Speaker 5: Green Bay. That was like my first week back. First
- 37:03Speaker 5: week back.
- 37:03Speaker 4: You played a majority of snaps.
- 37:05Speaker 5: I was supposed to be on snap count. And then
- 37:07Speaker 5: next thing you know, I'm... in there for, like, the
- 37:09Speaker 5: whole series.
- 37:11Speaker 4: I was looking, and I was like.
- 37:13Speaker 5: You'd think, like, I was working out, running, doing cardio, but, like,
- 37:16Speaker 5: all that stuff doesn't prepare you for, like, your football cardio. Like,
- 37:20Speaker 5: nothing you could do could get you in football shape.
- 37:23Speaker 5: And I was just out there, I was like, it
- 37:24Speaker 5: was cold as hell out there. It was freezing, it was, like,
- 37:27Speaker 5: little snow out there. So, like, when that cold air
- 37:29Speaker 5: hits your lungs, I was like, bro, I can't breathe.
- 37:32Speaker 5: It was like, as much as I wanted to stay
- 37:34Speaker 5: out there, like, and play the whole series, I kept
- 37:37Speaker 5: subbing myself out. And I was like, I'm not in
- 37:39Speaker 5: good enough shape. Cause I only ran for like, I
- 37:41Speaker 5: was only running for like two weeks leading up to it.
- 37:44Speaker 5: So I was just like, I can't.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Yeah, man. They were making fun of me.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Like the strength staff were making fun of me. It
- 37:51Speaker 5: was like the first time I ran, I was like,
- 37:54Speaker 5: I couldn't breathe. Cause you got to think about in Tampa,
- 37:56Speaker 5: the humidity, all this, this and that and the heat.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Like the first time they made me run on the field,
- 38:01Speaker 5: like I couldn't breathe for nothing. They kept making fun
- 38:03Speaker 5: of me. They go, stop smoking Newport. That was a joke.
- 38:06Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, I'm about to go smoke a Newport.
- 38:08Speaker 4: This and that.
- 38:08Speaker 5: But, That was a crazy year. But then when we
- 38:12Speaker 5: got to, when we beat Green Bay, we went to
- 38:16Speaker 5: the Kansas City week, and it was just two weeks. Yeah,
- 38:19Speaker 5: two weeks before Super Bowl. And then, like, we practiced.
- 38:22Speaker 5: From our practice facility, you could see the stadium. So
- 38:25Speaker 5: that was, like, built up motivation because you could see
- 38:28Speaker 5: them setting everything up. Every time you're driving in, you're seeing, like,
- 38:31Speaker 5: Super Bowl stuff being built. A fire, fire practice facility.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Bears. Bears.
- 38:38Speaker 5: And that's all you see two weeks leading up to it.
- 38:40Speaker 5: And we finally got the game plan. It was just like,
- 38:44Speaker 5: this was like nothing we ever seen before. And it
- 38:48Speaker 5: was just crazy. Like nobody questioned anything. It was just like,
- 38:51Speaker 5: once we seen the game plan, it was just like
- 38:54Speaker 5: that boosted our confidence to like a next level.
- 38:56Speaker 4: What about the game plan? It boosted your confidence so much.
- 38:58Speaker 4: It's basically, we knew everything they was doing. Yeah. Like
- 39:01Speaker 4: we basically.
- 39:02Speaker 5: So if you look back to the first time we
- 39:03Speaker 5: played them in the first, during the regular season.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Right before your bye.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 5: When we played them, they beat us in the first quarter.
- 39:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:12Speaker 5: They scored like 21 points in the first quarter. And
- 39:14Speaker 5: that was like the only time they scored.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:16Speaker 5: And then for this whole second half, they didn't score
- 39:18Speaker 5: any points. And we almost came back and won.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Yeah. The final score was 27-24. Yeah. And we was
- 39:24Speaker 4: getting actually like 21 zip. Yeah.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Tariq had like three touchdowns, like back to back to back.
- 39:28Speaker 5: And they were just... after that we corrected it and
- 39:31Speaker 5: so when we came back to Super Bowl we knew
- 39:34Speaker 5: what they were going to do and like the coverage they.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Came out with.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 6: It was just like a different lot of like a
- 39:40Speaker 6: lot of different looks. Like there had been this formation,
- 39:43Speaker 6: we would check this coverage, and when they motioned over
- 39:45Speaker 6: and stuff, we would check another coverage.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Like, it was just, they.
- 39:48Speaker 6: Didn't know we was in zone, we was in man,
- 39:50Speaker 6: we was in quarter, quarter, half. Like, it was a
- 39:52Speaker 6: whole bunch of stuff. But, like, everybody was confident in it.
- 39:55Speaker 6: And then, like, it was one of those games where, like,
- 39:57Speaker 6: we came in and he basically said, like, he said, like, D-line,
- 40:01Speaker 6: y'all got the run game, basically. Like, y'all take care
- 40:03Speaker 6: of the run game, and then we going to win
- 40:05Speaker 6: the game. And, like, the confidence Bo had kind of, like,
- 40:09Speaker 6: Bulls had kind of, like, instilled the confidence in us.
- 40:11Speaker 4: And, like, when we looked at the thing, like, this
- 40:14Speaker 4: type of football, we like to play right now.
- 40:15Speaker 5: That was our biggest thing because, like, our biggest thing
- 40:17Speaker 5: is our run defense and, like, stopping the run. That's, like,
- 40:21Speaker 5: what our D-line is known for. And that's, like, what
- 40:25Speaker 5: we try to hang our hat on, like, stopping the run.
- 40:27Speaker 5: And that was, like, the thing. It was, like, they're
- 40:31Speaker 5: not going to beat us on the ground, so we're
- 40:33Speaker 5: going to take that away early. We're going to make
- 40:36Speaker 5: Patrick Mahomes beat us. That was the biggest thing.
- 40:38Speaker 3: It was just, like, That's a big statement saying we're
- 40:40Speaker 3: going to make Patrick Mahomes beat us.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Yeah, like the pass rush was on fire that night.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I remember watching that game, but he had a few
- 40:48Speaker 3: tackles out too, right? Eric Fisher tore his Achilles in
- 40:51Speaker 3: the AFC Championship game.
- 40:52Speaker 4: He's trying to make a lot of those wild throws.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Wild throws, which he low-key almost made. Yeah, he did. Those....
- 40:59Speaker 5: Don't get me wrong, those throws that he was making
- 41:01Speaker 5: was crazy.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Insane.
- 41:03Speaker 5: There's even memes right after, there's people trying to recreate it.
- 41:07Speaker 4: It was like, how the hell he do this? Yeah,
- 41:09Speaker 4: it was insane.
- 41:10Speaker 2: It is massive when guys like yourself can take out
- 41:14Speaker 2: Travis Kelsey.
- 41:16Speaker 4: It was massive. I mean, it was just, like I said, yeah, yeah.
- 41:20Speaker 4: I'm obviously complimenting you.
- 41:23Speaker 2: I know it's hard, but I'm saying that that was
- 41:27Speaker 2: like massive.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Like you were in there, like you were being highlighted.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Like you were, when you can cover somebody like a
- 41:32Speaker 2: Travis Kelsey one-on-one, um, that's, it's big.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Cause it freaks people up to, you know, take care
- 41:38Speaker 1: of the deep.
- 41:39Speaker 2: End with Tyreek Hill and all the backyard plays that
- 41:41Speaker 2: are happening.
- 41:42Speaker 4: I remember leading up to the game.
- 41:43Speaker 6: Like I kind of like had a little hamstring injury, like,
- 41:46Speaker 6: and it was kind of like holding me out of
- 41:47Speaker 6: practice that first week. And like, I just remember like, Obviously,
- 41:50Speaker 6: hearing the media saying, oh, Levante got a hamstring injury,
- 41:53Speaker 6: I think he going to be able to, you know,
- 41:55Speaker 6: match up with this guy or whatever.
- 41:56Speaker 4: But, like, in my mind, I'm like, I'm good. You know, like,
- 41:59Speaker 4: it's a challenge. You know what I'm saying?
- 42:00Speaker 6: It's basically, like, best on best. You know, I got
- 42:02Speaker 6: a lot of respect for Travis Kelsey. Great football player, obviously. But, like,
- 42:06Speaker 6: in the Super Bowl, when you get challenged like that
- 42:08Speaker 6: by your coaches, and your coaches believe in you, and, like,
- 42:10Speaker 6: I'm the older guy on the team, a lot of people,
- 42:12Speaker 6: you know, look up to me and stuff like that.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Like, I got to answer the challenge. You know what
- 42:15Speaker 4: I'm saying?
- 42:16Speaker 6: So, whenever my number was called to guard him one-on-one, man-to-man,
- 42:19Speaker 6: I was like, I'm going to go in here and
- 42:21Speaker 6: I'm going to study everything he do and, like, wherever
- 42:24Speaker 6: he line up at, figure out his routes and stuff
- 42:26Speaker 6: like that and just try to, you know, take him
- 42:28Speaker 6: out of the game as much as I can whenever
- 42:30Speaker 6: I'm lined up against him.
- 42:31Speaker 4: And, you know, it worked out to my benefit. How
- 42:34Speaker 4: many times in that game were you one-on-one with him? Man-to-man,
- 42:39Speaker 4: probably about seven, eight times, maybe. Enough times to make
- 42:43Speaker 4: you sweat? For sure.
- 42:44Speaker 5: No doubt.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I mean, when you're covering someone, because he's got so
- 42:46Speaker 2: much length. Sometimes it's not even about, like, you can
- 42:49Speaker 2: be locked up on him and he's able to just
- 42:50Speaker 2: make a play because he's so long.
- 42:51Speaker 5: And on top of that, they had Tariq and McCall Harmon.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Oh, bro. Crazy. He's studs, bro.
- 42:57Speaker 3: And look, you gotta say one thing, people in football,
- 42:59Speaker 3: people in the outside world don't understand it as much as, like,
- 43:02Speaker 3: people inside the football world do. It's like, there's so
- 43:05Speaker 3: many one-on-one mashups. And it's just like, there's times, there's
- 43:09Speaker 3: a call, man, you're like, oh, I'm chilling on this play.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I know, like, I just got this area and I'm
- 43:13Speaker 3: gonna be fine. But there's other times you're like, like
- 43:15Speaker 3: there's times in the game when we go and it's like,
- 43:16Speaker 3: I know everyone's sliding away from me and it's just
- 43:19Speaker 3: me and this dude.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Yeah. And I have zero help. Zero help.
- 43:22Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:23Speaker 4: Zero help. In your head, you're just like, I just
- 43:24Speaker 4: got to win this one-on-one. You got to win.
- 43:26Speaker 3: You just got to win this one-on-one, dude.
- 43:27Speaker 4: Yeah. It's like, it's like a whole different, triggered, clicking
- 43:31Speaker 4: in your mind. It really is. It's like, oh shit,
- 43:33Speaker 4: this is my real right. There's no insurance policy.
- 43:35Speaker 3: There's no one there to protect you.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Everyone's watching this matchup.
- 43:38Speaker 6: That's literally how I feel. If it's man to man,
- 43:41Speaker 6: I got this guy. Damn, everybody watching us because they
- 43:43Speaker 6: might think this is the mismatch right here so I
- 43:45Speaker 6: got to do my best at.
- 43:49Speaker 4: It.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Do you think about how do you ever think about
- 43:53Speaker 2: how slept on you are throughout your career?
- 43:55Speaker 4: I do. I do. I mean, but It don't bother
- 43:59Speaker 4: me or nothing like that. Is that what you're saying?
- 44:01Speaker 6: Like, it don't bother me or nothing because, you know,
- 44:03Speaker 6: like around the league, you know, I hear people, you know,
- 44:06Speaker 6: they give me, some people give me my respect.
- 44:08Speaker 4: It's just the big media stuff.
- 44:10Speaker 6: Don't give me my respect, but like my peers, that's
- 44:12Speaker 6: all I care about.
- 44:13Speaker 4: Just my peers know that I go out there.
- 44:15Speaker 6: And I, you know, you know, put my heart out
- 44:18Speaker 6: there and then my teammates and stuff like that, you know,
- 44:19Speaker 6: they could try to count on me.
- 44:20Speaker 4: They know, trust me and stuff like that.
- 44:22Speaker 6: But, you know, at the end of the day, I still,
- 44:24Speaker 6: I'm always going to feel like I'm, still a top five.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Linebacker in this league, even in year 11. Yeah, I mean,
- 44:31Speaker 4: it definitely helps, too.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Like, when TB12 comes to town, and you got somebody
- 44:35Speaker 2: else being vocal, and you guys are winning games, too,
- 44:37Speaker 2: because that was probably the shitty part, is, like, being
- 44:39Speaker 2: in a certain market.
- 44:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:40Speaker 2: But the last couple years, like, it's been nice seeing
- 44:44Speaker 2: from friend to friend, like, seeing you get more.
- 44:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 44:46Speaker 4: You know I see you always shouting me out. Bro,
- 44:48Speaker 4: he's always. Yeah, yeah. He's always. Yeah. He's on the
- 44:52Speaker 4: Levante train always, dude. Yeah. Appreciate it, bro. She knows.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 44:56Speaker 3: With everything changing, like bowls taking over and stuff like that,
- 44:59Speaker 3: did you guys do two joint.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Practice last year? No, I think we just did it. Yeah,
- 45:05Speaker 4: just us. What is with us doing this every year?
- 45:08Speaker 6: Y'all get some good work, bro.
- 45:10Speaker 4: It's some good work. Hold on. We get good work? Yeah,
- 45:14Speaker 4: going against each other is great work. That's what I'm saying.
- 45:16Speaker 4: It's two physical teams. He's got the Miami stuff going on.
- 45:20Speaker 4: He goes, y'all get some good work. Hold on. It
- 45:22Speaker 4: was even worse in college.
- 45:24Speaker 1: You couldn't really like it.
- 45:25Speaker 4: What'd you say, LeVontae? It's not like two physical teams.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Y'all are physical for sure.
- 45:30Speaker 6: With a mindset like, it's basically a mindset like, best
- 45:34Speaker 6: man win type shit.
- 45:35Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? Like, you like that. You
- 45:37Speaker 4: know what I'm saying? Like, best on best, let's go
- 45:39Speaker 4: see who gonna win and stuff like that.
- 45:40Speaker 6: And like, the past couple years it has been, you know,
- 45:42Speaker 6: great work even though this year went better than last year.
- 45:44Speaker 6: You know how last year went a bunch of Fucking
- 45:46Speaker 6: brawls every day. Every period. Every period.
- 45:51Speaker 3: But it's also like that heat makes everybody like way
- 45:54Speaker 3: more mad. Like we were blessed by weather this week.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Because usually, like June and July was in the hundreds.
- 46:00Speaker 3: And then all of a sudden it was like mid-80s
- 46:02Speaker 3: this week. It was a nice deal.
- 46:04Speaker 6: When we was coming up, one of the staff was like,
- 46:06Speaker 6: it's going to be 65 at night, one of these
- 46:08Speaker 6: nights or something.
- 46:09Speaker 3: I'm like, damn, that's awesome. Yeah, it's a crazy change
- 46:13Speaker 3: for sure. How do you guys think you did this week?
- 46:16Speaker 3: I think it was the first day.
- 46:17Speaker 4: I ain't going to lie. I'm going to be honest.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Y'all kicked the ass the first day. Okay. For real,
- 46:20Speaker 4: for real. And then the next day it was. Respect. Yeah.
- 46:23Speaker 6: And then the next day we kind of like got
- 46:24Speaker 6: back to where we was. Got back to our norm
- 46:27Speaker 6: and kind of executed better.
- 46:28Speaker 4: So who won on day two? There was good boys
- 46:32Speaker 4: on day two. Yeah. It was great work on day two.
- 46:35Speaker 4: We were definitely better on the second day. We was better.
- 46:36Speaker 3: That's all that matters.
- 46:37Speaker 5: The funny thing is the same thing happened last year.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 5: Exactly. The same exact thing. They beat us on the
- 46:43Speaker 5: first day. Yeah.
- 46:44Speaker 4: And we showed up on the second day. Second day.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Like the first period. of practice or whatever. And also, like,
- 46:50Speaker 3: you guys showed up two minutes before practice started. Like,
- 46:53Speaker 3: we legit went into this, but their buses were late.
- 46:55Speaker 4: So they all low-key came in and weren't even, like,
- 46:57Speaker 4: warmed up.
- 46:58Speaker 3: And so the first team period, legit, like, I think
- 47:00Speaker 3: it was bombs over Baghdad. We were ripping the ball
- 47:05Speaker 3: deep and, like, had big holes and it was solid.
- 47:07Speaker 4: And then the next, but we knew.
- 47:09Speaker 3: The minute that practice ended, we're like, they're coming out tomorrow.
- 47:13Speaker 3: And so the first team period of the next day,
- 47:16Speaker 3: it's like, PBU, probably a sack.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Like, just run stuff. It's like, oh, fuck. Like, it
- 47:24Speaker 4: is good work. And it's good, too, because I.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Don't know if it's because of the second year, but
- 47:30Speaker 3: it felt like tensions weren't that high this year.
- 47:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:32Speaker 3: It didn't feel like, it was almost like you guys
- 47:34Speaker 3: were familiar.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Like, when I saw y'all, like, I remember seeing you
- 47:38Speaker 3: in Tampa, and I wasn't really practicing because I was
- 47:39Speaker 3: coming off the ACL. I saw you in the weight room.
- 47:41Speaker 3: And I said something like, what's up, Oos? And you, like,
- 47:43Speaker 3: just looked at me and walked past me.
- 47:45Speaker 4: I'm like, oh.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Oh, they're about to be like that today. It's going
- 47:48Speaker 3: to be wild. And then this year, I was kind
- 47:50Speaker 3: of talking, or a couple days ago, yesterday, I'm like
- 47:52Speaker 3: talking to you. You got like a smile on your face.
- 47:53Speaker 3: It just seems like there's more of a familiarity.
- 47:55Speaker 4: That we're just going to go and do this.
- 47:57Speaker 6: Yeah, because like I said, man, I feel like both
- 47:59Speaker 6: teams kind of like got that mindset like that. You're
- 48:02Speaker 6: going to be the physical, tough team today type mindset.
- 48:04Speaker 6: And when you got two teams going like that, all
- 48:06Speaker 6: it does is make each other better. So that's why
- 48:09Speaker 6: I like, you know, kind of like joint pressing.
- 48:11Speaker 4: Against you guys. Yeah, it's solid. Going against fucking Derrick
- 48:14Speaker 4: Herring and the Padra shit, so.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, they had you out. They had you out on
- 48:17Speaker 1: fucking social media yesterday.
- 48:19Speaker 4: I saw it. You know I saw it. What happened?
- 48:20Speaker 4: You know I saw it. It was actually Buck Rising.
- 48:23Speaker 2: But Buck had like Levante David against Derrick Henry in
- 48:26Speaker 2: pass rush blitz period or whatever. Everybody was tagging me like, oh,
- 48:30Speaker 2: Will's conflicted.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Doesn't know what to say.
- 48:32Speaker 4: He got me yesterday, but I got him Wednesday. Yeah.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:35Speaker 4: So that kind of like was....
- 48:40Speaker 1: But it's all about what you can put out there
- 48:41Speaker 1: on social media. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:43Speaker 4: 100%.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Just film that iPad, send.
- 48:45Speaker 4: It to me. I'll do the rest. Nah, I'm not
- 48:47Speaker 4: going to do that. You know, I don't care about that.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:52Speaker 4: But y'all are so fast. You and Dev. Yeah. So fast.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Would you say y'all are the best tandem? Y'all are
- 49:00Speaker 1: the best duo in the league?
- 49:01Speaker 4: For sure. Best tandem.
- 49:02Speaker 6: Like, we can do, I feel like we can, we're
- 49:04Speaker 6: the only group that can probably do it all.
- 49:07Speaker 4: We can do it all.
- 49:08Speaker 6: You can miss the quarterbacks. Run, stop, and cover receiving
- 49:13Speaker 6: the backside of the backfield. Who do you think's behind y'all?
- 49:16Speaker 6: Who I think's behind us? I like those guys in
- 49:18Speaker 6: San Fran. Those dudes, all three of them. Z's, obviously Fred,
- 49:26Speaker 6: and then what's 57 there? I forgot his name, but
- 49:29Speaker 6: he's Greenlock. Those dudes, beasts. I remember, like, last year,
- 49:34Speaker 6: we was watching, like, we was watching them play, and we, like,
- 49:36Speaker 6: looking at the way they played, like, looking at the
- 49:38Speaker 6: linebackers playing, like, these dudes flying to the football league, physical,
- 49:42Speaker 6: they're aggressive.
- 49:43Speaker 1: 57 is like a dog.
- 49:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You can tell by the
- 49:46Speaker 4: way you watch him on film too. Exactly, exactly.
- 49:48Speaker 1: He's got like that crazy, kind of like a screw
- 49:50Speaker 1: loose type of.
- 49:51Speaker 6: Yeah, and I know Aziz already. When Aziz was coming out,
- 49:56Speaker 6: he went to FAU and I was down there training.
- 49:58Speaker 6: I used to train at XPE in Boca and FAU
- 50:00Speaker 6: was in Boca and then I kind of like met him.
- 50:02Speaker 6: He was fresh off ACL and like, you know, the
- 50:05Speaker 6: trainer was like, you know, just work with Vontae, you know,
- 50:07Speaker 6: just kind of like piggyback off him and stuff like that.
- 50:10Speaker 4: And then that's when I got to know him. Great kid.
- 50:12Speaker 4: He's from Tampa.
- 50:13Speaker 6: So he already knew me. So it was a great kid.
- 50:16Speaker 6: And he was a free agent. And then playing football
- 50:19Speaker 6: for San Fran.
- 50:21Speaker 4: And obviously Fred Warner's a dog. Yeah, Fred's a dog.
- 50:23Speaker 4: He's a really good dog. Yeah. They're studs. The defense
- 50:28Speaker 4: is unreal. Yeah. Yeah, they got it now.
- 50:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:31Speaker 4: Their front seven is good. I just like the way
- 50:33Speaker 4: they play. Like, they're relentless. You know, I like that
- 50:35Speaker 4: relentless attitude as a defense.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Don't sleep on the boys in Tennessee now. Oh, we
- 50:39Speaker 1: got a Cunningham. David Long's at Cunningham.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously. Because David's smaller. Like, he's fucking. Bro, did
- 50:45Speaker 4: you see? Did y'all? Yeah. We saw. We saw. Yeah. Oh,
- 50:49Speaker 4: my God. I've never seen that. Yeah. I've never seen
- 50:52Speaker 4: nothing like that either.
- 50:53Speaker 5: The last time I seen something like that is when
- 50:59Speaker 5: Cam Chancellor took Mikey Potti out.
- 51:01Speaker 4: Oh, you remember that?
- 51:02Speaker 6: Yes.
- 51:03Speaker 4: That was crazy. That was crazy.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Yeah, when I saw that play, I was like, oh,
- 51:07Speaker 1: my God. You're talking about when.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I don't want to blast the boy. Yeah, I mean,
- 51:13Speaker 2: he's a boy, and he's a fan of the boys, too.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Titans didn't put it on Twitter, but the Bucs wanted
- 51:17Speaker 3: to put me on Twitter.
- 51:18Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying, yeah. We'll figure that out. Yeah,
- 51:20Speaker 4: it's wild.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Hey, Nate, I don't know who runs the social for Titans,
- 51:24Speaker 2: but I'm just speaking to... To Nate Bain, who was
- 51:26Speaker 2: part of the team, he was like, hey, funnel me
- 51:28Speaker 2: some stuff now.
- 51:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Like, let me be the vessel.
- 51:31Speaker 4: Let me be that guy.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll be that guy.
- 51:33Speaker 3: When I saw that play, I was like, woof.
- 51:35Speaker 4: That was a physical play. That was a physical. And
- 51:37Speaker 4: it was just weirdly physical, too. Yeah, it was like,
- 51:41Speaker 4: that was a classic, like, what do you call it?
- 51:46Speaker 3: Damn.
- 51:47Speaker 6: From your lead with your shoulder and your same foot.
- 51:49Speaker 6: Same foot, same shoulder. Same foot, same shoulder. had a
- 51:52Speaker 6: brain fart I get it.
- 51:53Speaker 4: I wouldn't have been.
- 51:54Speaker 3: There I'm glad Will was here to navigate that for
- 51:56Speaker 3: us yeah Hammond dude Zach too Zach can Zach's super
- 52:00Speaker 3: fast and twitchy but dude he lays he lays dudes
- 52:05Speaker 3: out yeah he lays dudes out when he was in
- 52:07Speaker 3: Houston I mean even last year with the Titans he
- 52:09Speaker 3: just I think he's got like a vendetta against offensive
- 52:12Speaker 3: linemen he literally just fucks them up it's wild wild
- 52:14Speaker 3: is the way he takes.
- 52:15Speaker 6: Them out I think that's most linebackers have that vendetta
- 52:18Speaker 6: against O-linemen I don't understand it.
- 52:21Speaker 4: You just think to yourself, so we were talking on.
- 52:23Speaker 2: The phone the other day, like, knowing, like, if I
- 52:25Speaker 2: had to see Taylor in certain situations, like, based on
- 52:28Speaker 2: game plan, like, you literally think to yourself, I have
- 52:30Speaker 2: to fucking try and get him before he gets me.
- 52:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Because for the most part, they're, not for the most part, like,
- 52:36Speaker 1: all the part.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Like, all the.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Part, like, they're way bigger than you. So it's like,
- 52:41Speaker 1: you have.
- 52:41Speaker 2: To fucking, like, think. I got to take this motherfucker
- 52:43Speaker 2: out before they look at me.
- 52:44Speaker 4: You know who comes to mind when I think about
- 52:46Speaker 4: stuff like that? Yoshi. Going against Yoshi. Yeah, yeah. Highway 51. Yeah.
- 52:51Speaker 4: It was Yoshi.
- 52:53Speaker 6: He went to Fort Scott with Tay. We came to
- 52:56Speaker 6: Nebraska together. He's one of those guys, like, you got
- 52:59Speaker 6: to get him before he gets you. Because if he
- 53:01Speaker 6: gets you, he's going to try to embarrass you. Yeah, like,
- 53:03Speaker 6: he was very extra. Like, somebody you're like, all right, bro,
- 53:05Speaker 6: we're fucking. The play's over with.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Like, lay on you and be, like, just really extra.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Hold you a lot.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Do whatever he can to, like.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Pancake you. Yeah, do whatever he can. Love that.
- 53:16Speaker 6: I always tell him, like, he will never get me. Like,
- 53:19Speaker 6: he'll try to grab you. He'll be twisting and turning me.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Yeah. And if he gets you, he's going to lay
- 53:22Speaker 4: on you and just, like, belly flop on you, basically. Right.
- 53:25Speaker 4: Way after the whistle's over, too. Yeah. Like, really try to.
- 53:28Speaker 4: That's not like Jensen. everybody hates Jensen huh dude everyone
- 53:33Speaker 4: I hate Jensen I fucking hate Jensen I.
- 53:35Speaker 3: Fuck with Jensen I've really never really talked to him
- 53:37Speaker 3: but I mess with him he's one of those dudes
- 53:38Speaker 3: you like when he's on your team and he's on
- 53:40Speaker 3: your side but like against him it's like bro get
- 53:42Speaker 3: the fuck and then as a person he's a great
- 53:44Speaker 3: dude too is he yeah real cool dude you.
- 53:48Speaker 6: Know what I'm saying is his knee good uh there's
- 53:51Speaker 6: no really final report on it that's the crazy part
- 53:54Speaker 6: about it so we don't really know what's exactly going on.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Uh Got to piss everybody off if somebody like that
- 54:00Speaker 2: gets hurt early in camp.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Yeah. Me too.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Probably a scuffle around the, it's like, what the, you know.
- 54:05Speaker 6: It was just like an unfortunate situation, though. Like, it
- 54:08Speaker 6: wasn't meant, it wasn't personal. We was just in a
- 54:11Speaker 6: team drill, competitive drill, and it just happened. But, you know,
- 54:14Speaker 6: Jensen obviously a leader of the whole line. He's going
- 54:16Speaker 6: to be definitely missed if he missed some games. But
- 54:21Speaker 6: he's in good spirits, though. That's the best thing about it. Yeah,
- 54:25Speaker 6: he seems like a dude.
- 54:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Should we do our tear talk? I think it's time
- 54:28Speaker 2: for Tear Talk. What's Tear Talk this week? You guys
- 54:30Speaker 2: probably heard some of the pod, right? Did you listen
- 54:33Speaker 2: to this when Lenny.
- 54:34Speaker 4: Was on the bus? I wasn't.
- 54:36Speaker 5: I was trying to beat the high score on Pac-Man.
- 54:40Speaker 4: Oh, over there?
- 54:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Have you played Galaga? I didn't. I was playing Galaga.
- 54:44Speaker 3: That's the game now.
- 54:45Speaker 4: That's the game. I lost like three minutes.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Did we come to what we wanted to do for
- 54:50Speaker 3: the Tear Talk? Let's do best jerseys. Best NFL uniforms.
- 54:53Speaker 3: Let's just lock that in.
- 54:55Speaker 4: I'm down with that.
- 54:55Speaker 5: All right.
- 54:56Speaker 4: Best NFL uniforms.
- 54:57Speaker 3: You want to go first, or do you want the
- 54:58Speaker 3: boys to go first and give you guys some time?
- 54:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll go first.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Will, you're up. Man, that's tough, bro. Yeah, throw up
- 55:04Speaker 2: the 32 teams for me, please. Just NFL. Best NFL jerseys.
- 55:09Speaker 5: Does it have to be, like, right now? Like, present
- 55:12Speaker 5: day or past?
- 55:14Speaker 4: Present day. Okay. You can? You can? So you would go.
- 55:22Speaker 2: You got to like actually like since we're throwing this
- 55:25Speaker 2: off the cuff, I feel like it's easier just to
- 55:26Speaker 2: do present because if it's like you throwing retro, like
- 55:29Speaker 2: I feel like I got to.
- 55:30Speaker 3: So we'll do two categories at a later date. We'll
- 55:32Speaker 3: do just present right now. That make you feel better?
- 55:34Speaker 4: Yeah, man. Thank you. I got you. I appreciate that.
- 55:37Speaker 4: Look at Sue. Big girl.
- 55:39Speaker 6: Damn.
- 55:40Speaker 2: I'm going to take my time first.
- 55:44Speaker 4: My hands are sweating a little bit. I just want to.
- 55:50Speaker 4: A little rattled. Slightly rattled. You got here?
- 55:54Speaker 1: If we could just throw up the logos of the team.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I think I got my number one.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 56:10Speaker 4: Hey. Oh, man. That was hard because I played.
- 56:15Speaker 1: I'm telling you.
- 56:17Speaker 4: I saw it. I was like, damn.
- 56:18Speaker 1: You said it's kind of hard because what?
- 56:19Speaker 5: I play a lot of Madden, and then you know
- 56:21Speaker 5: how you can change the uniform? You mix and match
- 56:24Speaker 5: what you think is the best.
- 56:25Speaker 4: You play a lot of Madden? Yeah. Man, I can't
- 56:27Speaker 4: get into it.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Got the new Madden codes?
- 56:29Speaker 4: I don't have the new Madden yet. Oh, you should.
- 56:31Speaker 4: NFLPS should have sent it to you. Yeah, I got
- 56:34Speaker 4: to check. I sent that off the other day to
- 56:35Speaker 4: a buddy. Go ahead. This is tough. I think I
- 56:40Speaker 4: got one. I have two. I have two.
- 56:45Speaker 1: I just got to find number three.
- 56:51Speaker 5: I think if they would have let us have the
- 56:53Speaker 5: creamsicles this year, our throwback creamsicles, we probably would have.
- 56:58Speaker 1: You guys just throw back orange?
- 56:59Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh, bro, yes.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Incredible.
- 57:01Speaker 5: It's supposed to be this year, but I don't know.
- 57:02Speaker 4: But a lot of retros are tough, like the Oilers.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Oilers go hard. Oilers go hard.
- 57:14Speaker 3: All right, I'm having a hard time here, so let
- 57:15Speaker 3: me ask a question. If I wanted to go with, like,
- 57:20Speaker 3: If I just said, like, the Browns, and I'm not
- 57:22Speaker 3: going the Browns, but I'm saying, like, if it was, like,
- 57:24Speaker 3: they're all Brown jerseys, like, that is a tier to me.
- 57:27Speaker 4: Is that okay to say? Yeah. Okay, then I have
- 57:30Speaker 4: my whole list. You want me to go first? Yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 4: you go ahead and go first. I know, it's tough, man.
- 57:38Speaker 3: I know, and I hate going first, too, because you
- 57:40Speaker 3: guys are going to say a couple, and I'm like, damn,
- 57:41Speaker 3: I should have picked that.
- 57:42Speaker 4: No doubt. My tier three....
- 57:46Speaker 3: Is it's going to be an alternate jersey for the
- 57:51Speaker 3: Arizona Cardinals.
- 57:52Speaker 4: I think they're all blacks. All black, yeah.
- 57:54Speaker 3: I think those things go fucking hard, dude.
- 57:56Speaker 4: You see out there, I think it looks really good.
- 57:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:58Speaker 3: I think usually, like even in high school, like if
- 58:03Speaker 3: a team has their main color being black, it's usually
- 58:06Speaker 3: a good look.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:07Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 58:08Speaker 3: So I'm going to go with my tier three being
- 58:10Speaker 3: the Arizona Cardinals black jerseys.
- 58:14Speaker 4: My tier two... I'm not sure why.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I love the combination with the red tops and the
- 58:20Speaker 3: gold bottoms.
- 58:21Speaker 4: I think the 49ers uniforms are just classic and fire.
- 58:26Speaker 4: And I think a lot of.
- 58:28Speaker 3: People lose the beauty in a uniform by doing too much.
- 58:36Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? Seahawks alternate?
- 58:37Speaker 3: Well, no, I think the Seahawks are like right on
- 58:40Speaker 3: that cusp, but even some like newer college stuff. Like
- 58:42Speaker 3: you go, you look at Penn State, like they're as
- 58:44Speaker 3: basic as can be, but they look fire. You know, Michigan,
- 58:47Speaker 3: Maize and Blue, they look fire.
- 58:48Speaker 4: I think Chargers. My tier one. My hands are sweating.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Is one of our best fan base. And it's going
- 59:00Speaker 3: to be the Las Vegas Raiders. That silver and black, dude,
- 59:05Speaker 3: I think is the hardest combo in the NFL.
- 59:09Speaker 4: And obviously, I'm excluding that. the Titans. That's my choice.
- 59:13Speaker 2: If Titans were in there, though, do you have your
- 59:14Speaker 2: jerseys in there? Like, I don't think if somebody heard
- 59:17Speaker 2: that they weren't in your top three, that it would be.
- 59:19Speaker 4: Like a shot. The Oilers would be.
- 59:21Speaker 3: If we win all, I think Oilers would.
- 59:22Speaker 4: Be my tier one. Oilers would be my tier one.
- 59:25Speaker 1: But like, I just don't... To me, my favorite of
- 59:28Speaker 1: the Titans is the All-Navies.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the All-Navies goes hard.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the All-Navies are sick. We're wearing tomorrow. All-Navies.
- 59:34Speaker 4: You can swag out. Swag out on that one. Go ahead, Willie.
- 59:41Speaker 4: Get loose.
- 59:43Speaker 2: So, throwing in an alternate, you rattled my brain, especially
- 59:46Speaker 2: when you said Madden. My tier three, and hey, we
- 59:51Speaker 2: see eye to eye on the majority of this list.
- 59:53Speaker 4: And we've had these conversations before. I knew it would
- 59:55Speaker 4: happen like this.
- 59:56Speaker 1: But my tier three isn't going to be, what was
- 59:59Speaker 1: your tier three?
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Cardinals, all black.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: It wasn't the Cardinals.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: I love the Cowboys alternate where they have the star
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: on the shoulder pad.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: That's a great shoulder.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: I think those are fire with the white helmet, the
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Navy star. I think those are electric. My tier two,
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I 1000% agree with Taylor.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I love the 49ers. I love the red and gold. Yeah. Classic.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: I love how the gold just pops on the Niners helmet.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: And my tier one, like you said all the right things.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: There's something about the silver and black and dude wearing it.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: You just feel, you feel invincible.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: You feel fucking dope.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Like, even if you're carrying a little extra on the
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: bottom tire and you're wearing that black, like, you just
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: feel sick. When the black shooter, you got the... Matter
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: of fact, these are like the cleats that they have.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: You get to rock the Jordans.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: Do you really? Yeah, bro. The Jordans. Yeah, the ones. Yeah,
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: those go hard.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: It's just... Oh, it's got an excluder.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Yo, hang on now. I'm not in the league.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I'm not in the league.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: I'm not in the league.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: I'm not in the league.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's your most recent team.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: But I'm not in the league.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Hey, the old Redskins jerseys are fire, too.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: Good question.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: They are, but what I didn't like about the Redskins is, like,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: the bottoms. Now they're different, but he had to wear, like,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: the yellow bottoms. I just wasn't a fan of those.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: You know what was fire but now is garbage?
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: The Falcons.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Yeah, because they're alternate on that, and I think it's fire. Yeah,
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: in the red helmet, the all blacks. Yes.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Atlanta used to be.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: And they did that fucking wash, where it washes from
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: black to red or red to black.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: That's garbage.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: And I think your guys' shit's cool, too, but I
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: like it doesn't.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: The family member vibe there is the Niners, and I don't.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Think you guys touched the Niners. Nah.
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: You got me first? So my tier three, I'm going
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: to go with the Dolphins. That's a great pick.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: I look at them, too. You just want the home jersey?
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: It's just something about the white face, man, with the visor.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: The teal, you know, the white. It's sweet.
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: Then they throw back so you can mix in a
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: little black with it with the swag. So that's kind
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: of like my dope pick. That's a good first pick.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: And the white face mask part because I always thought
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Texas was dope because they had the white face mask.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: The white face mask, yeah.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Texas is up there for best college uniforms.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: Texas is up there.
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: My tier two, I'm going to go with the Raiders.
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: The Raiders is my tier two. They're just the classic
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: black and silver. Just goes with anything.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: They're like, yeah.
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: And then my tier one, you know, basically everybody got
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: the San Francisco 49ers.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Yeah. Like, the all-black alternate. When they came out with
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: that one. I didn't even think about that, dude.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: And that's what's going to make your pick unique is, like,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: it's the all-black.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Because we put up, like, it won't just be the
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Niners logo.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Yeah. You don't get to pick the all-black. Oh, so dope.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: You should be excited. Yeah.
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: It's kind of hard. It's kind of hard. I think
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: my tier three would have to be the Steelers.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: That's a good pick. That is a good pick.
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: I think that classic black and yellow.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: I know, it is good.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: Because it usually doesn't go like this.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: A lot of times there's arguments.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Hey, that's garbage.
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: That classic black and yellow, I think, is nice.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, the logo on one side.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: I was going to say Niners, but since y'all said it,
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: I'm going to change it. I was going to say
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: Niners because I grew up a Niners fan. Born and
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: raised in California.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. It kind of happens. Well, you can choose them, brother.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: If you want them, you can have them. Here's what
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: you can do.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: You can throw in a sneak and honorable mention in there.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: Honorable mention, Niners. Then I'll go with the Panthers all-black uniform.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: It was only because when I found out the history
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: behind them, when we had my rookie, our D-line coach,
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: he played for the Panthers, and he said when you
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: play at their house and they were all black, that means.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: They're trying to disrespect you.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: Oh, really? Wait, what?
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: Say that again? The funeral.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: That's dope.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: I wasn't 100% fired up on that pick. And then
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: by you saying that, that fired me up more.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: It was because of the history behind it. And then
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: I think my tier one, I couldn't pick between Green
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: Bay and the Seahawks. But I have to go with
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: the Seahawks. They're like lime green.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: Yeah. Color rush. Yeah. Color rush.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: You don't like it? I think I say that because
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: I always use the Seahawks and Madden, and I always
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: use that color way.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: I think that's the reason why.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I feel like Green Bay kind of got shunned out
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: of here. I know.
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: I was thinking that towards the end.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: The way you were.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Bouncing them as your tier one, it's like one could
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: have just been tier two, and they just moved down
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: the ladder.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: I get it. Everybody get on a mission?
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: You want to throw in an honorable mention?
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: Go ahead. I don't know. Something about that.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: I think the all-black Saints is dope, too. Dude, I
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: was going to want to change mine.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I think an honorable mention. Throw them in there for
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: my honorable mention.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree with that. You want to put them
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: in there.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: I'd like to, but I've already, and we can't. I've
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: already put mine down.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: I do like the Saints.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Florida Lee is dope.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: I didn't want to say it because I didn't want
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: to turn on me because it was like, there's like
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: a rivalry.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Well, do you pick the Panthers? I ain't going to
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: say nothing. You don't see them as a rival?
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: No, I feel like our real rival is the Saints.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: But I didn't want them to turn on me and
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: they were like, hey, we're about to play the Saints.
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: You over there focused on their jerseys.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: That is tough when you're playing ball and you got
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: to worry about me.
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: Yeah. What was your honorable mention? I was going to
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: go with the Jets. Really? Yeah. Okay.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: You want to defend that?
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: What do you mean by that? Yeah.
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: I like the old, not the new ones, but the
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: older ones. It's just like, you know me, I'm simple.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: Now we're doing retro. Yeah, the retro ones, whatever. But
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: the simple green and white, all white, and the green
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: on green, like, it just.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: I.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: Don't know, it just pops to me.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Is that the jersey they were wearing when you cheap-sided
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Geno Smith out of bounds and lost the game?
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: They actually were in all white, for real. You lost
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: that game. I didn't lose that game.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: I'm not going to lie. The Bengals' new uniforms are
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: coming forward.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: I don't know. The Orange doesn't do it for me.
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: Bad decision. No. Hope will call by the ref. No, bro.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: He was out of bounds.
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: They changed the rule the next year.
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: What are the three words?
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: All you had to do, he was going out of bounds.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: All you had to do was just touch him to
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: go out of bounds.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: They get a personal foul penalty. They get in field
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: goal range. They kick the field goal to win the game.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: That's one of Boogie's first years. I remember thinking, what
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: the fuck?
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: The next year, they changed the rule.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: All I'm saying was you didn't have to do what
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: you did. Yeah, we don't got to do this. You're right,
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: you're right, you're right.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: The three worst are kind of like, they kind of,
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: it's kind.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: Of, yeah.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel you on that.
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: Team kind of makes the jersey. Raven's a sleeper too, though. Yeah,
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: you're right. The all black Ravens. Are we talking about
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: the worst? You talking about the worst Giants? No, no, no,
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: I like the Giants. Yeah, in like 2007.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? When they were in the
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Super Bowl and stuff. Yeah. Yeah, Giants is kind of weak.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: The three worst ones are, and listen, this is not true,
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: but Houston, Jacksonville.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: I think the new, I think. Round it up.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: No, I think the new Rams uniform, I don't really
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: like it.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: You don't like them?
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: I like the gray, like the gray white, the off-white
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: they have is cool.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Chargers, I don't like their uniform. I don't like them either.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: The powder blue? Yeah. Them either. I don't like the
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: Bucs uniform. That's what I was just playing. Hey, write
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: that up. Put that in there.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: He just says, I don't like the Bucs. Man, I
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: don't know.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: Already did it.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: My question is for you, and it's how much longer
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: do we get to see Levante David play, and what
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: else do you have to accomplish? Outside of fucking, obviously,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: what everybody says, and that's win a Super Bowl for
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: the team.
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: How much you going to see from me?
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: Honestly, I'm actually kind of going like year to year
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: right now. You know, this is my last year in
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: my contract right now. And I'm feeling good. I'm feeling great.
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: I'm healthy.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: I'm happy. But, you know, right now, just year to year.
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: And as far as much more I got to accomplish,
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: I feel like I got some more stuff to accomplish.
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: I'm just trying to solidify myself as one of the
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: best linebackers that played the game. Obviously, I want to
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: make the Hall of Fame, so I'm kind of like,
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: you know, patting those numbers a little bit. It's kind
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: of like, you know, like what goal of mine was
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: to obviously, you know, reach the 40-20 club with the
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: 40 sets, 20 interceptions thing.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: But I don't know how much longer I got to
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: play to do that.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Where are you at right now?
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: I'm at 26 and 12. Got a little bit of work. Yeah,
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: I got a little bit of work. So you never know.
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: But, you know, it just goes, it's just how my body,
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: how far my body takes me and how my mental is,
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: you know.
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: I have obviously a family man now. So congratulations on
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: being a new dad. Appreciate it. So don't go from now.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: That was an outstandingly buttoned up answer. That was good.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: That was pro.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: You can see when he gets in the, he's got it.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Dude, when we were in Nebraska, he literally said like,
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: we talk about the NFL and stuff.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: I was like, how long you want to play? He's like, oh,
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: I probably want to get like 10 years.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: I'm just thinking like the fact that you can just
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: talk like that and say that.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: But here we are. You're on year 11. You know
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: what I mean? You're in college.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: You're like, I want to get 10 years in the league. Like,
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: probably play 10 and then see where I'm at. So, yeah,
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: you got the juice for real.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: When I actually got here, I didn't think I was
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: going to make 10. You happy to have one? No,
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: I'm good. I'm set. Boys, I appreciate it. It's been
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: a fucking awesome time. It started off. I felt like
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: we were kind of feeling it out.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: You're like the stereotypical, like big guy who's like soft spoken.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: It doesn't say a whole lot, but we got into
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: your stories and killed it.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: You had 10 minutes of just running. I was just
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: like a child sitting at the edge of my seat,
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: enjoying myself.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: Yes, bro.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: But thank y'all, man. Subscribe to Bust With The Boys.
