- 0:42Speaker 1: recap episodes will follow Buddy, Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 1:01Speaker 1: a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy, and today
- 1:05Speaker 1: we're recapping The Way Home episode eight, Love Fool, which
- 1:10Speaker 1: by the way, is a nineteen einety six song from
- 1:13Speaker 1: The Cardigans. If you'd like to connect with us outside
- 1:16Speaker 1: of the podcast, we'd love for you to follow us
- 1:18Speaker 1: on Instagram. We are both at Megan and Wendy and
- 1:21Speaker 1: at Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You can also jump into our private Facebook group called
- 1:27Speaker 2: Girls Gone Hallmark. Nice community of people over there who
- 1:31Speaker 2: really enjoy Homemark.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yes, we've had some new members recently and welcome. Welcome.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Quick bit of Girls Gone Hallmark housekeeping. Yeah, we had
- 1:44Speaker 1: briefly debated the idea of not recapping Hamemark's new series Ride,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and then Fomo got us. I feel like I want
- 1:51Speaker 1: to be a part of that movement. I think the
- 1:56Speaker 1: Fomo got me.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think you were down for it the whole time,
- 2:00Speaker 2: but I was like, I'm just it's a very busy
- 2:03Speaker 2: time of year for me right now, so like adding
- 2:05Speaker 2: another show is like a lot.
- 2:08Speaker 1: But I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it. The
- 2:11Speaker 1: previews look real good. I'm excited about it. It is
- 2:15Speaker 1: like the Girl's Gone Hallmark review. Recap turnarounds are tight,
- 2:19Speaker 1: which which doesn't help. Like we don't have a lot
- 2:21Speaker 1: of time, we can't spread them out, we can't record
- 2:24Speaker 1: them in advance. Although how is it be at Hamemark?
- 2:26Speaker 1: If you'd love to send us a screener, Yes, send
- 2:28Speaker 1: a girl a screener. Jeez, Louise would change my life.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I'm sure some of our other podcast counterparts get screeners,
- 2:36Speaker 2: so got to why not us?
- 2:39Speaker 1: Why not us? Yeah? Do you have a synopsis for
- 2:43Speaker 1: Love Fool? I sure do.
- 2:45Speaker 2: When an old friend returns, Alice realizes her relationship has
- 2:48Speaker 2: no future, and Kat is shocked by family secrets, Delle
- 2:52Speaker 2: tries to take a chance with Byron.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Okay, that's it, does she? Okay? Yeah, I think she
- 2:58Speaker 1: shut that shit down.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:02Speaker 1: We open on a foggy scene. Cat's running through the woods.
- 3:05Speaker 1: She's at the farmhouse, and it's not quite clear what
- 3:06Speaker 1: time period we're in yet, but uh, it appears that
- 3:10Speaker 1: why do I have no One's home written down? Because
- 3:14Speaker 1: no one? She must say it, she'd have it in
- 3:18Speaker 1: quotation marks. She does. She peeks in the window, she
- 3:22Speaker 1: opens the door. At this point, I'm like, oh, we're
- 3:25Speaker 1: in the past and she's just goldilocksing her way into
- 3:28Speaker 1: this house. She takes a jacket off the hook and
- 3:31Speaker 1: sniffs it, which leads me to believe it's Colton's jacket.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Can I stop you there?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, she sniffs a lot of stuff.
- 3:38Speaker 1: She does.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I mean, I can understand if she misses her dad
- 3:42Speaker 2: and whatever, and like she gets the essence of him,
- 3:45Speaker 2: but it's happened a.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Lot in the last couple episodes. This one makes more
- 3:50Speaker 1: sense to me than the one we got previously with
- 3:52Speaker 1: his twenty three year old floel shirt that is not
- 3:54Speaker 1: going to retain the Colton essence any longer. Exactly exactly,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you know, she's just kind of exploring. She sees a backpack,
- 4:03Speaker 1: and then she sees the missing Child posters on the
- 4:05Speaker 1: table and has a flashback of looking at those posters
- 4:07Speaker 1: with her father, who is having a hard time with them.
- 4:11Speaker 1: She had upstairs into her room again, we get another
- 4:14Speaker 1: flashback of her listening to Alanis with Alice. She heads
- 4:18Speaker 1: into Jacob's room, another flashback of Jacob talking about saving
- 4:22Speaker 1: up his coins for the carnival, and downstairs we hear
- 4:26Speaker 1: Dell and Colton enter the house. And this is the
- 4:27Speaker 1: one I would be freaking out, seriously. I having nightmares
- 4:30Speaker 1: about like being in people's houses and them coming home, right,
- 4:34Speaker 1: So this is not a big house exactly, she hides,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and you know they're arguing in dell Is. It's clear
- 4:43Speaker 1: that Delle kind of wants Colton to let go a
- 4:45Speaker 1: little bit. She wants them to be able to move
- 4:47Speaker 1: on Colton is clearly not ready, and we see cat
- 4:49Speaker 1: hiding in the basement. I w don't know how she
- 4:51Speaker 1: got there. And here's what's interesting. We hear Colton head
- 4:54Speaker 1: downstairs and Dell Yell's catt'll be home soon. Are you
- 4:56Speaker 1: gonna tell her what you're doing down there? What is
- 4:58Speaker 1: he doing down there?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:00Speaker 1: You didn't see? No? Okay?
- 5:02Speaker 2: Well first I thought like, does he have his own
- 5:05Speaker 2: murder board down there? But no, he had a cot
- 5:08Speaker 2: down there in the basement.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Oh I didn't even see.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay, So it appears to me that he's been sleeping
- 5:12Speaker 2: in the basement.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And if Kat was unaware, got it? Good job, good getch. Thanks.
- 5:19Speaker 1: The argument continues. Colton heads back upstairs, ask that they're
- 5:23Speaker 1: just supposed to pretend like everything's fine, and Colton bounces
- 5:26Speaker 1: and we get the line that we see in the preview.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Go ahead and leave. You both know you'd rather be
- 5:32Speaker 1: anywhere with here, And off goes Colton in his truck. Now,
- 5:36Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. Yeah, it feels.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Unfair of Dell to tell her husband that he needs
- 5:43Speaker 2: to give up or let it go, or stop looking
- 5:49Speaker 2: for his child who's been missing.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Don't you think yes?
- 5:55Speaker 2: I mean, people grieve all sorts of different ways, so
- 6:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna say that, but I just felt like, man,
- 6:04Speaker 2: let the man. He needs some closure. Come on, Dell.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, And they're clearly not in this together. This isn't
- 6:12Speaker 1: a moment that is connecting them. They're not bonding together
- 6:15Speaker 1: over the search for their son. This is tearing them apart.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And Dell wants to accept what the town seems to
- 6:22Speaker 1: believe is that he fell off the cliff and was
- 6:23Speaker 1: swept out to see and Colton is not ready to
- 6:27Speaker 1: accept that because there's no actual evidence that that is
- 6:29Speaker 1: what happened. Yeah.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, I've never been in this position before,
- 6:33Speaker 2: and I'm sure like a missing child or an ill
- 6:37Speaker 2: child or.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Whatever scenario is very hard on a marriage, for sure.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And I do think there is a point at which
- 6:45Speaker 1: you need to perhaps live your life. I'm not sure
- 6:48Speaker 1: that point is three months after your child, but I agree. Agree.
- 6:53Speaker 2: So we get opening title, and then it's present day.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Alice is on the porch and arrives home. Alice asks,
- 7:01Speaker 2: what are you doing? You said you were done with
- 7:03Speaker 2: the pond. Kat's clearly struggling, and she says she just
- 7:07Speaker 2: doesn't want to talk about her right now and heads inside,
- 7:09Speaker 2: and Kat has a memory about Dell and Colton talking
- 7:14Speaker 2: about Jacob's disappearance.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yes, and downstairs Dell and Byron into the kitchen. Byron
- 7:19Speaker 1: is apparently going to stay with Dell to recuperate after
- 7:22Speaker 1: his bookshelf falling incident. Delle ask Kat to keep Byron company,
- 7:27Speaker 1: but Kat says, not gonna do that, and she bounces, Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I think she's a little salty still from getting me
- 7:35Speaker 2: shit can from her job.
- 7:36Speaker 1: So yeah, and she's dealing with like in her mind
- 7:40Speaker 1: she's so focused on Dell and Colton. I think Byron
- 7:43Speaker 1: in her home is perhaps throwing that on top of it. Yeah, exactly.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Kat goes outside and she's talking to Elliott about how
- 7:50Speaker 2: she went to the house back in ninety nine, which
- 7:54Speaker 2: is really two thousand. Now all my notes say ninety nine,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but I guess it is two thousand. Ellie's reaction is
- 8:01Speaker 2: pretty normal, like that's a terrible idea.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yes, they broke and entered, don't go in the house.
- 8:08Speaker 2: She tells him how she overheard dal and Cole arguing,
- 8:12Speaker 2: and he says that, you know, grief probably had a
- 8:14Speaker 2: lot to do with their problems in the relationship, and
- 8:19Speaker 2: she's just really confused because she thought they were a
- 8:21Speaker 2: solid front and had this fairy tale romance and like
- 8:24Speaker 2: if they couldn't get through it, who who can?
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah? And I take issue with that statement because this
- 8:31Speaker 1: is not just the normal course of a marriage, right,
- 8:34Speaker 1: It's not like the normal bumps that a relationship has,
- 8:39Speaker 1: like they lost a child. It seems completely unremarkable to
- 8:43Speaker 1: me that their marriage would fall apart in the wake
- 8:45Speaker 1: of that. I agree. I agree, And to your point
- 8:48Speaker 1: about it being not nineteen ninety nine anymore. Elliott does
- 8:50Speaker 1: say you could have gone to two thousand to jail
- 8:53Speaker 1: like jail in two thousands? Did he really, Sannah? I
- 8:59Speaker 1: did not catch at all. That's funny. I just love
- 9:02Speaker 1: He's like just the I just loved him. He's like,
- 9:05Speaker 1: you are a strange woman in their house. You're not
- 9:07Speaker 1: their daughter. I just I really loved Elliot in that scene. Yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: that's funny. Back at the farmhouse in present day, Rita
- 9:13Speaker 1: drops by and Dell has this oh no reaction that
- 9:16Speaker 1: just makes me laugh out loud. And Rita is with
- 9:20Speaker 1: the Roxy ladies. I think their names are Joyce in June,
- 9:22Speaker 1: but they never say them in this I cannot remember.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I was like, the Roxy friends, Yeah, I canot remember
- 9:30Speaker 2: their names.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And they got word that Dell has a house guest
- 9:33Speaker 1: and they're there to spy like fifteen year old girls.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Rita jokes that they're shocking up and she offers them
- 9:40Speaker 1: tea and they're like, I'm out a cocktail, and apparently
- 9:43Speaker 1: we cut to they're sipping some drink. Byron says it's
- 9:46Speaker 1: something he used to make in Cobble. It's totally unclear
- 9:48Speaker 1: to me what the drink is. They're drinking out of
- 9:50Speaker 1: Mason Jars.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I had to rewind that scene because I thought he
- 9:54Speaker 2: said Cobo c abo and I was like, that's a
- 9:57Speaker 2: weird drink from Mexico, and the I saw I watched
- 10:01Speaker 2: with the you know, the captions, and I was like, oh,
- 10:05Speaker 2: not cobo very much. Not.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Alice comes downstairs and Dell tries to get Alice to
- 10:13Speaker 1: join them, and Alice doesn't want to, and the old
- 10:16Speaker 1: ladies immediately assume boy trouble, like Alice has not said
- 10:18Speaker 1: three words, and they start meddling in her love life,
- 10:22Speaker 1: and they get her to sit down and join them
- 10:24Speaker 1: for a game of poker.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And the next time we have cat walking through the
- 10:28Speaker 2: woods forest. I don't know what to call this area
- 10:32Speaker 2: of land, and she's having memories of Colton and Dell
- 10:35Speaker 2: being happy together, and we see her gazing into the pond, like,
- 10:39Speaker 2: is she gonna go back?
- 10:41Speaker 1: She gotta go back? We cut again. Yeah, we cut
- 10:45Speaker 1: back to poker and Alice plays a royal flush and
- 10:47Speaker 1: a few seconds later she's like, I didn't say I
- 10:49Speaker 1: wasn't good. I just said I wasn't into it. Byron
- 10:51Speaker 1: asks Alice some questions about her music, and Rita wants
- 10:55Speaker 1: Alice to play at the grand opening of the Roxy,
- 10:58Speaker 1: which apparently is re opening as those sort of music joint,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and the ladies want to hear Alex play and we
- 11:06Speaker 1: get a knock at the door. Wait.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I want to hold on because this scene had me
- 11:14Speaker 2: interested in a few details.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:17Speaker 2: First of all, they talk about new owners at the Roxy,
- 11:21Speaker 2: and you hear Dell say like, oh, I don't know
- 11:23Speaker 2: if we were even gonna support that.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And I was like, that's weird.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Why wouldn't they're a small business struggling for you know, consumerism.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you support a new local business.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I thought that was weird.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Second, it was really cute because the old Roxy owners
- 11:39Speaker 2: they didn't care if they were having a new owner,
- 11:42Speaker 2: and then they smooched and I was like, yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I did like that too. Yeah, and dell like
- 11:48Speaker 1: they didn't shut down because they went out of business,
- 11:51Speaker 1: like they voluntarily retired and sold the Roxy to new owners,
- 11:54Speaker 1: like you want your town to have a thriving business.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I just thought it was so bizarre. I'm like, well,
- 12:01Speaker 2: is Zach gonna are we gonna? Are we laying the
- 12:03Speaker 2: foundation for something else in the future. But we'll see,
- 12:08Speaker 2: we'll see. Like you said, somebody was at the door.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Alice opens it. There's a man with his back turned
- 12:15Speaker 2: to her, but with a familiar jacket. I guess who
- 12:17Speaker 2: turns around is Nick? And Alice is stunned.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I wrote Alice's flabber casted. She's like, oh, you
- 12:27Speaker 1: got old. What do you think about adult nick casting?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Spot on? Yeah, me too, Yeah, spot on, pretty spot on.
- 12:38Speaker 1: We cut to Alice talking to Cat about Nick, and
- 12:42Speaker 1: Kat is a little relieved that Nick didn't remember her,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but Alice is broken hearted that he didn't remember her,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and she talks about how unfair it is that she
- 12:52Speaker 1: and Nick were doomed from the start and she mentions
- 12:57Speaker 1: her first love and Kat says she'll take care of
- 13:01Speaker 1: it and mentions like, you know, Alice's like, I think
- 13:05Speaker 1: I need to go, and Kat goes be with your
- 13:07Speaker 1: best friend, and Kat goes back to nineteen ninety nine.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Ali al Yeah, Like Kat gives her the okay, go ahead,
- 13:14Speaker 2: go time travel.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'll see you later on girl. So such so weird storyline.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Okay, anyway, Kat comes into the house and Nick greets Cat.
- 13:26Speaker 2: She wants to know how long he's in town for
- 13:28Speaker 2: and if Elliott knows he's in town, and he says, hey, yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 2: we're all going out, and Kat's clearly concerned because she's
- 13:36Speaker 2: worried that he's gonna put the Alices together, you know,
- 13:41Speaker 2: like he's going to figure it out.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Back in the year two thousand, Alice arrives at
- 13:45Speaker 1: Kat's house. Dellan Colton are opposite ends of the table
- 13:48Speaker 1: and not talking, although they are lovely to Alice. They
- 13:52Speaker 1: offer her dinner so it's nice to see her, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: upstairs Kat apologizes for her parents' behavior. Alanis Morsa is
- 14:01Speaker 1: playing in the background. We're a few years late on this,
- 14:05Speaker 1: Like this is like a nineteen ninety six album, but
- 14:08Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. And Kat says she can't wait to
- 14:10Speaker 1: get out of the Port Haven. Things are not good here.
- 14:13Speaker 1: She's gonna apply to college to be closer to Brady.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And this is the weirdest. It's not. The scene itself
- 14:19Speaker 1: is not weird, but when you start thinking about it,
- 14:21Speaker 1: it gets really weird because Kat, they say, like, I'd
- 14:24Speaker 1: love to be able to talk to you when you're
- 14:26Speaker 1: not here. And Kat asked us, did your dad let
- 14:28Speaker 1: you get the internet yet? And Alice says no, but y'all,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you have landlines the existed in two thousand. We still
- 14:35Speaker 1: called people on the phone. Yeah, I had a corded
- 14:38Speaker 1: phone in my dorm room in college and people left
- 14:41Speaker 1: voicemails like we called people.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't understand why Kat isn't like, why can't
- 14:46Speaker 2: I have your phone number.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Like like your mom's house and your dad's house and
- 14:50Speaker 1: I can.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Talk to you or spoiler alert, here's my page, your
- 14:54Speaker 2: number page me and maybe whatever.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Anyway, yes, and then Kat says you're the only person
- 15:02Speaker 1: I know who's.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Not on ICQ and whoa blast from the past y'all. Yeah, see,
- 15:08Speaker 2: I have no idea what that is. I thought while watching,
- 15:12Speaker 2: I was like, oh, they can't say AOL, but what
- 15:16Speaker 2: is ICQ.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Oh, so it was a similar messaging service, and it's
- 15:21Speaker 1: the letters I c Q meant to mean I, S, E,
- 15:26Speaker 1: E K y ou get it? And it the alert
- 15:33Speaker 1: sound when you would get a message was oh, oh interesting.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I have to say that I was in the in
- 15:43Speaker 1: two thousand and I was in college. We had ICQ.
- 15:46Speaker 1: It was, but I was much more of an AOL
- 15:48Speaker 1: instant messenger user. Anybody who had ICQ vividly remembers that sound.
- 15:53Speaker 1: It's like Pavlovian. Yeah, I have no idea. That's that's wild.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Kat wats go out and asks Alice about Nick, and
- 16:03Speaker 2: Alice says she thinks.
- 16:04Speaker 1: She should break up with Nick. We cut to Carrie
- 16:07Speaker 1: present day, Yeah, present day, and we've got Kat and
- 16:11Speaker 1: Nick and Elliott all together in a in a bar
- 16:15Speaker 1: in a karaoke bar, and Elliott and Kat talk about
- 16:22Speaker 1: Nick recognizing Alice while Nick is off getting drinks, and
- 16:25Speaker 1: Kat points out it's twenty three years in the future.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Twenty three years in the past for Alice is happening
- 16:30Speaker 1: right now. So it's like the emotions are really strong
- 16:34Speaker 1: for Alice. I want to say right now, I did
- 16:39Speaker 1: not believe that Nick didn't recognize Alice. I just want
- 16:42Speaker 1: to put that, Oh did you I have a note?
- 16:45Speaker 1: It's not there yet. I will tell you when we
- 16:47Speaker 1: get there. Why I think that? And Elliot asked about Kat.
- 16:50Speaker 1: She says she's not doing great, mentions the affair, and
- 16:54Speaker 1: Nick comes back and it's like, who Who's having an affair?
- 16:57Speaker 1: And Kat's like jeerus to love being a total shit.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, this is so this The whole scene was like
- 17:05Speaker 2: so weird to me because I don't I don't get
- 17:11Speaker 2: that the three of them were that close when they
- 17:13Speaker 2: were in high school.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah, like Nick only seemed be part of the group
- 17:17Speaker 1: because of Alice exactly.
- 17:19Speaker 2: And then you know, but it's fine whatever. Do I
- 17:23Speaker 2: believe he even has a karaoke bar?
- 17:25Speaker 1: I don't think so, right, It's got to be like
- 17:28Speaker 1: one of their bars has a random karaoke night, like
- 17:30Speaker 1: the one bar in town. But we do know that
- 17:32Speaker 1: Nick was in Elliott's wedding, so they were friendly. Yes, okay, Yeah.
- 17:38Speaker 2: We're back in two thousand and Alison Cat met up
- 17:41Speaker 2: with Nick and Elliott at the point, and Alice wants
- 17:44Speaker 2: to talk to Nick alone.
- 17:48Speaker 1: You know what that means? Can we talk back in
- 17:52Speaker 1: present day? Dylan Byron are in the kitchen and Byron
- 17:55Speaker 1: jokes that Rita is nicer when she's drinking, which she
- 17:57Speaker 1: also makes me laugh. And Dell asked Byron about the
- 18:00Speaker 1: head injuries he alluded to earlier, and he says that
- 18:03Speaker 1: they were the casualties of reporting from the front line
- 18:05Speaker 1: in Cobble, not Cobbo, and that is also how his
- 18:10Speaker 1: wife died, which is news to Dell. She did not
- 18:13Speaker 1: know that a he was married and b he is
- 18:16Speaker 1: a widower. Well, hold up a second.
- 18:18Speaker 2: This man has lived there for eight years and they've
- 18:20Speaker 2: never had a conversation with him about like, oh, why
- 18:23Speaker 2: are you single?
- 18:24Speaker 1: What brought you here? Like what's your deal? So there's
- 18:28Speaker 1: so many moments throughout this show, especially in the past
- 18:32Speaker 1: couple of episodes, where it's like, have these people been
- 18:35Speaker 1: frozen in time? Right up until the moment that Kat
- 18:38Speaker 1: and Alice showed up rights. I agree, And then Byron
- 18:42Speaker 1: says it didn't feel right to wear a ring after
- 18:45Speaker 1: her death. But we cut we see Dell, you know,
- 18:48Speaker 1: twisting her wedding ring around her finger. That was it
- 18:52Speaker 1: was in shade.
- 18:53Speaker 2: He was telling it from like his point of view,
- 18:56Speaker 2: you know, which is I don't think it, but she
- 18:58Speaker 2: took it personally for sure.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think he was trying to like offend her. No, no, no,
- 19:03Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 19:04Speaker 2: We are back in two thousand at the point and
- 19:06Speaker 2: Alis and Nick are talking and she breaks things off
- 19:08Speaker 2: of them. He's not totally surprised because he said given
- 19:13Speaker 2: her like infrequent visits. She gives him the hook bracelet
- 19:18Speaker 2: back and says she wishes things could be different. Kat
- 19:23Speaker 2: and Elliott err at the.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Counter, and.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Cat's looking at the new pager that Brady got her.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I had like a secret code that he misses her,
- 19:33Speaker 2: and I was trying to remember back in the day
- 19:35Speaker 2: of pagers. I never had one, but I knew that
- 19:38Speaker 2: there was codes. Why are you I didn't have a pager.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I'm surprised. I had a cell phone. I'm a lot
- 19:47Speaker 1: older than you. I had a cell phone too, but
- 19:50Speaker 1: it costs like ninety dollars a month for ten minutes.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I mean, it was not a regular use situation. I
- 19:57Speaker 1: just didn't have a need for a pager.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Apparently nobody you know, paging me secret love codes, so
- 20:04Speaker 2: didn't wasn't necessary, and I don't even remember like the
- 20:09Speaker 2: codes only nine to one one being an emergency.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I don't remember anything else beyond that, so I don't
- 20:15Speaker 1: one four three is I Love you. But I do
- 20:17Speaker 1: not remember any of the other codes. But I do
- 20:19Speaker 1: have a vivid memory of texting in code. I couldn't
- 20:23Speaker 1: tell you what they were, but like paging people in code.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Back in present day, they're at the bar and Kat
- 20:27Speaker 2: is talking about how great Nick's job is and how
- 20:31Speaker 2: wonderful it must be, and he says that, you know,
- 20:33Speaker 2: keeping relationships is hard, and she goes on to ask
- 20:36Speaker 2: if he remembers their childhood friend named Alice. Nick says
- 20:39Speaker 2: he doesn't remember her, but that there's been so many
- 20:42Speaker 2: women in his past she doesn't stand out. Kat gets
- 20:47Speaker 2: called up to the stage for karaoke one of the
- 20:50Speaker 2: I guess it was Nick who signed her up.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Apparently.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah, she gets up and she sings Alanis's Jagged Little Pill,
- 20:56Speaker 2: and I say, shout out, she has a great voice.
- 20:59Speaker 1: She sounded great. I was a little bit worried. She
- 21:02Speaker 1: sounded fantastic. Yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 2: During this time where like now, they're not watching their
- 21:07Speaker 2: friend on stage, Nick tells Elliott he's gotten engaged and
- 21:12Speaker 2: they talk about Kat a little bit and Nick asks
- 21:15Speaker 2: when Elliott is finally going to make a move on Cat.
- 21:18Speaker 2: And during this time, there's a montage we see Alice
- 21:22Speaker 2: come home post breakup and she, you know, posts breakup
- 21:26Speaker 2: with Nick in two thousand and she lays on her
- 21:29Speaker 2: bed like all teenagers do, and then Dell is in
- 21:32Speaker 2: her bedroom taking off her wedding ring?
- 21:35Speaker 1: Does she take it off? I watched it and she
- 21:37Speaker 1: twisting it around her finger, and I was like, did
- 21:39Speaker 1: she take it off? It's that's a good question. I
- 21:42Speaker 1: don't know. It just looks like having some thoughts about
- 21:44Speaker 1: her wedding conduring. Yeah, exactly, Yeah, Okay. This past scene
- 21:48Speaker 1: where you know, Nick says like Alice didn't stand out,
- 21:52Speaker 1: This is jux sapposed right after the previous scene where
- 21:55Speaker 1: Alice breaks up with him, and when Alice leaves, Nick
- 21:59Speaker 1: looks heartbroken at that table. And my thought in this
- 22:01Speaker 1: moment where Nick's like, Eh, she just didn't stand out,
- 22:04Speaker 1: we didn't know until thirty seconds before that Alice is
- 22:07Speaker 1: the one to officially end their relationship. And I was like,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I wonder if it's sour grapes like Nick's like, screw
- 22:13Speaker 1: this chick. She broke up with me right anyway, So
- 22:17Speaker 1: he's like, I'm not gonna act like I remember her, Like, oh,
- 22:21Speaker 1: she didn't affect me. That was my thought. Anyway.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Is that your clue that you were talking about earlier,
- 22:26Speaker 2: That's that's what I felt.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, okay. Anyway. After the commercial break, Nick drops
- 22:31Speaker 1: off Elliott and Cat and Kat's worried about having to
- 22:34Speaker 1: break the news to Alice that Nick is engaged, and
- 22:37Speaker 1: they joke about their not being a handbook for this
- 22:39Speaker 1: sort of thing, and Elliott has a great line. He's like, yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: it's kind of a niche market. And again, this episode's
- 22:44Speaker 1: pretty funny. Kat's holding a giant pizza. Elliott asked if
- 22:47Speaker 1: she's gonna share. She says, of course not. They share
- 22:50Speaker 1: a bit of a moment. Elliott starts walking away and
- 22:52Speaker 1: Kat yells at him, would you just kiss me already?
- 22:55Speaker 1: And Ellie goes right now and Kat's like, well, let's
- 22:59Speaker 1: do it before it gets we and it's a little
- 23:00Speaker 1: too late for that, and then Kat gets mean.
- 23:03Speaker 2: She is self sabotaging so hard in the scene, like
- 23:07Speaker 2: what are you doing? Just shut up and go inside?
- 23:10Speaker 1: God lady, and Elliott says, well, I'm not going to
- 23:13Speaker 1: do it while you're yelling at me, and great point, Elliott,
- 23:16Speaker 1: and then she just tries to implode the entire thing
- 23:18Speaker 1: and yells, why whisk our friendship or something that's gonna
- 23:21Speaker 1: end badly and Elliott looks heartbroken and says, I know
- 23:24Speaker 1: you don't mean that and end the scene.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah, she was a real bitch, and this scene, I
- 23:29Speaker 2: gotta say. Next morning, Alice comes into the bedroom and
- 23:33Speaker 2: Kat is brushing her hair, and she tells Alice that
- 23:38Speaker 2: Nick is engaged, and Alice is real upset. Alice tells
- 23:42Speaker 2: Kat she broke up with her Nick the night before.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Kat says she remembers, And this is when my head
- 23:50Speaker 2: cannot understand this time travel stuff, because how does Kat
- 23:53Speaker 2: remember that Alice broke up with Nick? But Kat doesn't
- 23:57Speaker 2: remember anything else prior to this. Yeah, remember Alice was
- 24:00Speaker 2: just a foggy memory.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Uh huh. That's a great point. So what, like, what
- 24:05Speaker 1: am I supposed to just ignore that stuff? I don't
- 24:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Alice is hurt that adult Nick doesn't remember her, and
- 24:13Speaker 2: Kat consoles her and tells her that those feelings were special,
- 24:16Speaker 2: and Kat goes on to tell Alice that she's going
- 24:19Speaker 2: back to nineteen ninety nine, but doesn't want to give
- 24:21Speaker 2: her any details on why, and just to trust her.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I think these two needs she needs to be communicated. Well,
- 24:29Speaker 1: you know what, I take it back, Well, I'm not
- 24:31Speaker 1: sure that I would be telling Alice like, oh, I
- 24:33Speaker 1: think your grandfather was having an affair, but I gotta
- 24:35Speaker 1: go prove that wrong. So yeah, come on, let's go
- 24:37Speaker 1: be buddies on this. You know, look, I'll get arrested together.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Back in two thousand, Dell is passive, aggressively chopping wood. Clearly,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you know, this is one of those like, oh, I
- 24:48Speaker 1: said I would do it. She's like, I'm gonna do
- 24:50Speaker 1: it myself, and you know, she and Colton exchange words,
- 24:55Speaker 1: and off goes Colton once again. And Kat's peering around
- 24:58Speaker 1: the corner, and how she has not been caught, Like
- 25:01Speaker 1: it's a farm. There's nobody else around. You don't notice
- 25:03Speaker 1: as other human.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Like he gets over the truck from behind the.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Trash cans or something. Yeah, she hops in the back
- 25:11Speaker 1: of the truck. You're telling me she did that noiselessly,
- 25:12Speaker 1: like she's got to get under the tarp in the truck. Anyway,
- 25:15Speaker 1: she hops in the truck and off goes Colton, and.
- 25:18Speaker 2: We then have almost an identical scene present day Dell's
- 25:23Speaker 2: chopping wood. Byron comes out and he asks if she
- 25:26Speaker 2: ever slows down, and they have a little nice moment.
- 25:30Speaker 2: He ends up getting a splinter, which will lead to
- 25:34Speaker 2: something else a little.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Bit later on. Yeah, cut back to the year two thousand.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Colton pulls up in his truck to the motel and
- 25:42Speaker 1: he gets out and he joins a man whose name
- 25:44Speaker 1: is Morgan, who appears to be a PI, who tells
- 25:47Speaker 1: Colton he has no new leads, and Colton is arguing
- 25:51Speaker 1: he does not want to accept that there's no information.
- 25:54Speaker 1: He offers him more money. This becomes very clear that
- 25:56Speaker 1: this is where all the money has gone and the
- 25:59Speaker 1: PI will take it. He says, I can't in good
- 26:01Speaker 1: faith do that. There's the it's a dead end and
- 26:04Speaker 1: he leaves.
- 26:05Speaker 2: So which here at this point again you have to
- 26:10Speaker 2: wonder where the hell is Jacob. Yeah, right, because I
- 26:16Speaker 2: think after the Carnival episode we kind of thought like, oh,
- 26:19Speaker 2: maybe this is the end of the story, like he's
- 26:22Speaker 2: just gone, right, But this is still bringing up more questions,
- 26:26Speaker 2: like now you have a Pi who had looked, and
- 26:29Speaker 2: Colton's correct. He's like, if he would have went over
- 26:31Speaker 2: the cliff, the ocean.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Would have brought his body back to shore.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a hard line to hear him say, I
- 26:39Speaker 2: know totally. So I have to now wonder, like, where
- 26:43Speaker 2: is Jacob? Who knows where is Jacob?
- 26:47Speaker 1: You?
- 26:47Speaker 2: And I think this is the story is just going
- 26:50Speaker 2: to continue into season two of Looking for Jacob. And
- 26:54Speaker 2: this next thing, we're back in present day and Dell
- 26:56Speaker 2: is taking that splinter out of Byron's hand. They're sitting
- 26:59Speaker 2: in the kitchen at the kitchen table, and he says
- 27:01Speaker 2: nicely that he would like to kiss her, and she
- 27:05Speaker 2: ends up dropping like the needle or whatever she was
- 27:08Speaker 2: using to get the splinter out, and they like bump
- 27:11Speaker 2: heads and they have like this weird, super awkward interaction
- 27:14Speaker 2: and he wants to try again, and she tells him,
- 27:17Speaker 2: you're sitting in Colton's chair, and I was like, way
- 27:21Speaker 2: to kill the mood.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Dell, like, what are you doing? I mean, I mean, well.
- 27:28Speaker 2: We finally get some closure around her and Byron a
- 27:30Speaker 2: little bit later in this episode, but I thought she
- 27:34Speaker 2: has been flirting with Byron for since episode one truthfully,
- 27:41Speaker 2: and now she's decided she's like not into it.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Yeah, she invited him to stay in her home. He's
- 27:46Speaker 1: clearly not incapable of caring for himself, so she had
- 27:51Speaker 1: to have done that out of some sort of affection
- 27:53Speaker 1: for him. But this is another one of those how's
- 27:57Speaker 1: time stood still? Because it's twenty three years later. This
- 28:01Speaker 1: seems like an outsized reaction to someone wanting to kiss
- 28:04Speaker 1: you apps freaking lutely, Like six months later, sure, a
- 28:07Speaker 1: year later, sure, twenty three years later, you maybe have accepted, like,
- 28:11Speaker 1: it's okay to kiss another person. Yeah, it's okay to.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Move on, especially she's she's mad at Colton, right, so
- 28:21Speaker 2: not that that's any excuse to but still it's okay.
- 28:25Speaker 1: To move on. M hmm. This scene cuts to Alice
- 28:29Speaker 1: at the point with Zoe and Spencer and they're holding hands.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Told you we did get a message on Instagram and
- 28:37Speaker 1: someone says that in episode one they introduce each other.
- 28:40Speaker 1: They're at like Zoe is his girlfriend, Okay.
- 28:44Speaker 2: As I thought, but Spencer has not been.
- 28:49Speaker 1: He made Alice dinner in the last episode or something,
- 28:52Speaker 1: so yes, it is Zobe on another show. Is that
- 28:55Speaker 1: why she's not in every episode with Spencer is Zoe
- 28:59Speaker 1: time travel. Yeah, Alice gets up from the table to
- 29:04Speaker 1: get something and she bumps into old Nick congratulates him
- 29:08Speaker 1: on his engagement. They have a bit of an awkward encounter,
- 29:11Speaker 1: and back at the table, Zoe asks about the hot
- 29:15Speaker 1: older guy. Yeah, that was weird, and she couldn't be,
- 29:19Speaker 1: like she had just been telling them that she broke
- 29:21Speaker 1: up with Nick, this guy who lived out of town.
- 29:24Speaker 1: She couldn't be like, that's my mom's friend Nick. Yeah. Yeah,
- 29:27Speaker 1: they're like, what is that the dude you've been seeing?
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Back in two thousand, Colton's reading the PI dossier
- 29:36Speaker 2: on his boat and he's crying. He gets up and
- 29:38Speaker 2: puts the paperwork, tucks it away in the boat, and
- 29:42Speaker 2: Dell comes out to talk to Colton.
- 29:44Speaker 1: It's cold.
- 29:44Speaker 2: She gives him a jacket to put on, and you know,
- 29:47Speaker 2: she's telling him at this time, like it's close to
- 29:50Speaker 2: dinner or whatever. And she walks away and he yells out,
- 29:53Speaker 2: I love you, Delilah. And this scene breaks my heart
- 29:56Speaker 2: because she pauses and then keeps walking like never turns
- 30:00Speaker 2: around back to look at him.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Yeah, this is such a misconnection because she came out
- 30:04Speaker 1: with the jacket, like she was doing a loving thing
- 30:08Speaker 1: for him. He returns that emotion, but they're not able
- 30:13Speaker 1: to really receive those things. Yeah, that was hard. Present
- 30:19Speaker 1: day Cat approaches Elliott, who's outside raking, and what I
- 30:23Speaker 1: really like is the last scene they had together is
- 30:25Speaker 1: her yelling at him. He's kind of upset by her words.
- 30:29Speaker 1: But when she rushes up soaking wet, he's like, what
- 30:31Speaker 1: are you doing? It's freezing you nut Like he's kind
- 30:34Speaker 1: of sweet to her still in this moment, and she
- 30:37Speaker 1: says she knew it wasn't another woman in the past,
- 30:39Speaker 1: it was a PI and he gives wet Cat his
- 30:43Speaker 1: jacket and Cat kisses Elliott. She's not waiting anymore, and
- 30:48Speaker 1: it's a great kiss.
- 30:49Speaker 2: It's like I wrote down, this ain't irregular Hallmark kiss.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Wow. Elliot's glasses get knocked all over his face. I mean,
- 30:58Speaker 1: it's just a gorgeous scene.
- 31:00Speaker 2: There's gold gorgeous, like golden hour with the sun, and
- 31:04Speaker 2: it's like a pretty intense kiss. Kat says, I don't
- 31:09Speaker 2: care about perfect I just didn't want us to miss
- 31:11Speaker 2: our moment, and then.
- 31:13Speaker 1: She says he has to go, and Elliot's like what, Yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 1: throws his hands up in a bit of a victory celebration.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Great scene. What was he expecting?
- 31:21Speaker 2: He wanted her to stay and make out some more
- 31:24Speaker 2: maybe and maybe.
- 31:25Speaker 1: More like what is what it was?
- 31:29Speaker 2: It was a funny scene that his reaction at the
- 31:31Speaker 2: end there was great. I thought we cut to a commercial,
- 31:34Speaker 2: and then when we come back, we're in present day.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Kat's looking through the boat for the dossier that I'm sorry,
- 31:39Speaker 2: the dossier that Colton had stashed. Of course it's still
- 31:43Speaker 2: there twenty three years freaking later.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Nobody's gone through the boat and all this time again
- 31:48Speaker 1: time has stood still, right, she opens it.
- 31:50Speaker 2: In the next scene, she's showing Dell and Delle's asking like,
- 31:56Speaker 2: where did you find this Catherine? She's clearly upset with her.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Kat explains that Coltman wasn't having an affair, that he
- 32:04Speaker 2: was just hurting and he'd spent all their money on
- 32:06Speaker 2: a PI and Dell just shut it down. She stands
- 32:09Speaker 2: firm that there was another woman, and she says, because
- 32:12Speaker 2: the woman showed up at Colton's funeral and she saw
- 32:15Speaker 2: her with her own eyes.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is where your theory I one hundred
- 32:20Speaker 1: percent believe is true that it was Kat at the funeral.
- 32:22Speaker 2: But how does Dell not realize that that woman was
- 32:27Speaker 2: her daughter?
- 32:30Speaker 1: I do think she has a strong vision of what
- 32:33Speaker 1: that woman looked like. Yeah, her own daughter, I know,
- 32:37Speaker 1: but it wasn't her. It was her daughter twenty three
- 32:40Speaker 1: years in the future.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Okay, then, how is Nick supposed to remember a girl
- 32:44Speaker 2: from twenty three years ago in the past.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Well, but here's the difference. Alice is the exact same
- 32:52Speaker 1: person that Nick knew in the past, right, Like they're identical.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Dell had never so when Nick sees Alice in the future,
- 33:02Speaker 1: he has seen her before. I understandes Cat in the past.
- 33:06Speaker 1: She's never seen her before. So it's just this woman
- 33:09Speaker 1: that she doesn't have any frame of reference. And I
- 33:11Speaker 1: don't think here's that some sort of mother's intuition. I
- 33:15Speaker 1: don't know. Cat never asks Alice for her phone number.
- 33:18Speaker 2: So yeah, so you know, we're picking up heart little
- 33:25Speaker 2: things here. But okay, and present day Nick and Elliott,
- 33:29Speaker 2: they are saying goodbye. Nick's leaving town back off to
- 33:33Speaker 2: his fiance, and Alice is lurking in the bushes like mother,
- 33:38Speaker 2: like daughter. Nick explains to Elliott that he actually lied
- 33:43Speaker 2: to Cat the other night about remembering Alice. He tells
- 33:45Speaker 2: Elliott that Kat's Alice reminds him of old Alice, but
- 33:50Speaker 2: thinks it's creepy and didn't want to say anything to Kat.
- 33:54Speaker 2: And Alice, who is obviously at earshot, seems very pleased
- 33:58Speaker 2: with this new information.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah, because he says, you never forget your first love.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And I think that's all she needed to know that
- 34:06Speaker 1: it was mutual. He loved her too, And yeah, it'd
- 34:09Speaker 1: be super creepy to be like, as a forty year
- 34:11Speaker 1: old man, your fifteen year old daughter reminds me of
- 34:13Speaker 1: a girl I loved in high school. Yeah, he's not wrong.
- 34:16Speaker 2: I'd be like, you're leaving now, thank you. So now
- 34:22Speaker 2: I wonder if this is going to open the door
- 34:24Speaker 2: to Spencer. Now Kat has now had closure on Nick,
- 34:28Speaker 2: So perhaps now we're going.
- 34:30Speaker 1: To explore the Spencer situation. Home wrecker Alice yikes, that's fired. Well,
- 34:37Speaker 1: I mean he has a girlfriend, although Spencer is really
- 34:40Speaker 1: the one who needs to be received. Yes. At the farmhouse,
- 34:44Speaker 1: Del finds Byron packing. He says she doesn't have a
- 34:47Speaker 1: room for him, and clearly he means in her heart,
- 34:49Speaker 1: not in her home. He says, you need to heal
- 34:52Speaker 1: and accept things, and Delle thanks him for man's plaining
- 34:57Speaker 1: grief to her. But come on, Delle, he's not wrong, right,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you have not fully healed. And Delle says you shouldn't
- 35:05Speaker 1: have to try so hard if it's the right person
- 35:07Speaker 1: and out I really wanted it to be Byron.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Yeah, me too. But Delle's just all wrong in this situation.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It makes it makes me not like her in this episode.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah. This and her reaction to Kat with the PI dossier,
- 35:23Speaker 1: both those really bumped her down for me. I agree.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Alice and Kat are on the porch and they're talking
- 35:30Speaker 2: and Kat's looking at the dossier and Alice wants to
- 35:33Speaker 2: know if Kat got more answers, but she tells her
- 35:37Speaker 2: it's led to more questions. We see Byron come outside.
- 35:41Speaker 2: He tells the girls to be good to Dell and
- 35:44Speaker 2: he gets into a cab.
- 35:47Speaker 1: We're in a.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Small freaking town. No one can drive this man home.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Rita can't come over and get him. He has no
- 35:53Speaker 2: other friends. What is happening? He drives away in the
- 35:56Speaker 2: cab and Delle's out on the porch. She's watching the
- 36:00Speaker 2: cab drive away and then has a flashback memory seen to.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Colton's truck driving away. Yeah, And my first reaction to
- 36:09Speaker 1: those comparisons are like, that's not fair, right, But she
- 36:14Speaker 1: drove them both away. She was pushing them both away
- 36:17Speaker 1: cause I felt like it wasn't fair to compare Byron
- 36:19Speaker 1: to Colton. But I think it is fair to compare
- 36:21Speaker 1: them in that those were a direct result of her actions.
- 36:26Speaker 1: They both care for her and she just pushes them away. Yeah.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Question when Dell tells Cat that there was another woman
- 36:36Speaker 1: at the funeral, why doesn't Cat assume that it's her?
- 36:40Speaker 1: Like Cat still seems to be really grappling with what
- 36:43Speaker 1: it means to be a time traveler, like when she
- 36:46Speaker 1: arrives at the carnival and drops a bike on the
- 36:48Speaker 1: ground and turns around and she's like, whoa, it was me.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I was here all the time. Okay, now that we
- 36:53Speaker 1: have that realization, m h, why isn't it occurring to
- 36:56Speaker 1: you that you're also in these future moments anyway?
- 37:00Speaker 2: Right?
- 37:00Speaker 1: No, you're right.
- 37:02Speaker 2: This is where I'm like, I can't I don't understand.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Get a little bit of a preview of some rough
- 37:13Speaker 1: moments coming and Alice having to live through the loss
- 37:18Speaker 1: of her grandfather, Kat having to relive that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yes, And there's a scene where Colton opens the door
- 37:25Speaker 2: and Kat is standing there and I told you two episodes.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Ago she's going to be the quote unquote other woman. Yeah.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I mean I think that's her at the funeral too,
- 37:34Speaker 1: based on that. But let's talk about homie of the week. Yeah,
- 37:38Speaker 1: go for it.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I think it is adult Cat Landry.
- 37:46Speaker 1: That's her two time two timer first two time the.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Week, just because you know, she's trying to clear Colton's name,
- 37:55Speaker 2: and she's also what I'll so well, she's a great mom.
- 38:02Speaker 2: She really shows up for Alice here. You're right, she's
- 38:04Speaker 2: really connecting with Alice here. Finally, finally those two had
- 38:08Speaker 2: been really missing each other, you know, finally they're on
- 38:11Speaker 2: the same page.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah. That conversation they have while she's brushing Alice's hair
- 38:15Speaker 1: is really sweet and really hard as the mom to
- 38:17Speaker 1: have to be like I'm going to say this to
- 38:18Speaker 1: you and it's gonna suck, but it's information that you
- 38:20Speaker 1: need and I'm here for you. And I just really
- 38:24Speaker 1: like mom Kat as mom in this show.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I agree, And I'm finally glad that like she went
- 38:30Speaker 2: for it with Elliott.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yes, yes, an excellent another excellent point for Homie of
- 38:35Speaker 1: the Week. Notice in the nineties, I mean.
- 38:40Speaker 2: We got the pager and the ots observed in the ats.
- 38:48Speaker 1: YEP pager, we got ICQ. Yeah, anything else we got
- 38:53Speaker 1: alanis Yeah, not that many this week? Not that many enough.
- 38:59Speaker 1: The creators of this show clearly like music, like they've
- 39:05Speaker 1: made both the titles of the episodes and the music
- 39:07Speaker 1: within the episodes really key to the show, which I
- 39:11Speaker 1: am enjoying. Yeah, if they're getting the rights to these
- 39:13Speaker 1: actual songs, yes, me too. All Right, two more episodes
- 39:17Speaker 1: of The Way Home. I think you're right, we're gonna
- 39:19Speaker 1: have more questions than answers about Jacob, specifically at the
- 39:22Speaker 1: end of this I mean they can't they can't answer
- 39:25Speaker 1: it by the end of the season. No, we were
- 39:27Speaker 1: so focused on like the ride up to Colton's death,
- 39:33Speaker 1: that I think there's gonna be a lot left unsaid.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I do want to say that what I think about
- 39:37Speaker 1: this episode is cat all Along had felt like her
- 39:41Speaker 1: parents were blaming her for the loss of Jacob and
- 39:43Speaker 1: they were shutting her out. And what I feel like
- 39:46Speaker 1: it seems clear is happening to me is they're not
- 39:49Speaker 1: so much blaming her as they're so stuck in their
- 39:52Speaker 1: own muck that they cannot see that their daughter still
- 39:56Speaker 1: needs them as well. Like, they're so tied up in
- 39:59Speaker 1: the mess does their relationship and trying to figure out
- 40:01Speaker 1: how to navigate that moving forward, and Cat's just kind
- 40:04Speaker 1: of getting lost in the shuffle. That's what I think,
- 40:06Speaker 1: you know what I'm kind of afraid of.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I hope they don't start time traveling to different eras.
- 40:12Speaker 1: In the future.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Like I don't want them to go back, like,
- 40:16Speaker 2: you know, back to the future when they go to
- 40:17Speaker 2: the Western Days or whatever.
- 40:21Speaker 1: You know what Alice and Kat like, as far as
- 40:24Speaker 1: we know, Alice was Kat's high school best friend. Like,
- 40:27Speaker 1: they don't go to college together. Yeah, right, what is
- 40:31Speaker 1: going to happen? I don't know. Lots of questions, so
- 40:34Speaker 1: many questions. Make sure to come back next week for
- 40:36Speaker 1: a brand new recap. Thanks for listening. We'd love to
- 40:38Speaker 1: have you in our Facebook group. We will be back
- 40:41Speaker 1: on Friday with the brand new Girls Gone Hallmark Bonus review.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Let's see you then, Bye bye.
