- 1:13Join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim continues to
- 1:17walk us through the scriptures, displaying the power of the presence of God in any situation.
- 1:24Hello and welcome to this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as we continue
- 1:28on with the most wonderful, comforting thought, but God.
- 1:34No matter what situation we're in, no matter where we are, no matter what seems
- 1:39to be facing us, as a child of God, we can proclaim with authority and true confidence, but God.
- 1:50And we know in our heart of hearts that he
- 1:53hears us he listens to us he
- 1:56knows what's best for us he has plans for
- 1:59us to prosper us to give us a hope he knows
- 2:03the need we have before we even ask and he prays for us so when we begin to
- 2:10think about but god you can't help
- 2:14but have this overwhelming sensation of absolute joy and peace Thank you.
- 2:21Because I feel, as David felt, the battle's not mine. It belongs to the Lord. Shall we pray?
- 2:28Our kind and most gracious, dear Heavenly Father, Lord, we just thank you for
- 2:31this and another opportunity to come before you. We thank you for your love
- 2:34and your mercy and your grace.
- 2:36We thank you that you care about us and that you're mindful of us.
- 2:39And we thank you, dear Heavenly Father, that wherever our feet may take us,
- 2:43that we know that you are there.
- 2:44We thank you, dear Heavenly Father, that you have the way and that you are the
- 2:47way and that you planned a way for us. and that if we but follow you,
- 2:51Lord, we will stay in the way and in the center of your will.
- 2:54And Lord, we pray that you would just help us to realize that we are never alone
- 2:58and that we can do all things through you which strengthen us.
- 3:01And dear God, we pray that you would just continue to speak to our hearts and
- 3:05help us to realize that the place we're in, you said to be content in whatever state we're in.
- 3:10And Lord, that where we're at is the place that you have chosen for us.
- 3:13Therefore, you have picked out all that we need in order to be more than conquerors
- 3:18through you, Jesus Christ.
- 3:20Lord, just speak to our hearts over these next few moments as we pray and as
- 3:24we speak and as we study and meditate upon your word.
- 3:27Lord, just bring all of our hearts together in one accord, sitting at your throne,
- 3:32hearing the words that you would have us to speak and hearing you speak to our hearts.
- 3:37And all these things we ask in thy most precious and holy name we pray and all
- 3:41of God's people said, amen.
- 3:44I'll tell you, I believe one of the things that I love so much about being able
- 3:49to teach on the subject of, but God, is being able to just flip through his
- 3:54scriptures and watch him just jump out.
- 3:58And I hope that if you are able, that you'll just sort of go through the scriptures
- 4:02with us, maybe jot down where we are, because I believe as you begin to see
- 4:06page after page in verse after verse, in book after book.
- 4:13Of his blessed book when you begin to
- 4:15just see all these places that god just
- 4:18shows up on the scene and his intervention not
- 4:22only makes a difference it is the difference that you can just wave your little
- 4:26white hankies of victory and know that jesus christ is victorious and you are
- 4:32more than conquerors through him and you can see a place after place after place
- 4:36that it will begin to strengthen your heart,
- 4:39begin to allow you to just begin to trust him the way that he would have you to trust him.
- 4:44You see, we are strengthened in Jesus Christ because he is our hope.
- 4:49And we're not in despair and we're not struggling when we focus on Jesus because
- 4:55we have a hope and that hope is found in Jesus Christ.
- 4:59And we're not like the people who don't have a relationship with him.
- 5:03I don't understand how in the world people can take a step who don't have a
- 5:11relationship with Jesus Christ I don't understand how they make it through adversity
- 5:15I don't understand how they.
- 5:17Go through the troubles and trials that just beset us
- 5:20on this earth and I say that and
- 5:23at the same token I have to wonder why it is so
- 5:26many times I try going on and through all those
- 5:29things by myself i have the blessed hope
- 5:31of jesus christ i have the promises that he's given me i
- 5:35can come to him with all of the things that are on my
- 5:37heart because he said to cast all your care upon him because he cares for you
- 5:41he told me in hebrews 4 to come before the throne of god and i would obtain
- 5:45help and mercy in time of need repeatedly through the scriptures he said if
- 5:49i had a question i could ask him if i was looking for an answer i could seek
- 5:53and find he says that if I would just knock on his heart's door, he would open up.
- 5:58Yet so many times, I walk around.
- 6:02As if I have no hope. That ought not be, friends, for you, and it ought not be for me.
- 6:09Because what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
- 6:12that he hath called us the sons of God.
- 6:15And as sons, we are join heirs with Jesus Christ, and he loves us.
- 6:20Did you hear me? He loves us. And oh, how he loves us.
- 6:26So much that he prepared the way, and God gave his son Jesus Christ,
- 6:31that we might have life and have it more abundantly.
- 6:34Did you hear me? More abundantly.
- 6:37We're not supposed to live around as people without a hope. He came and he died
- 6:41and he bought our salvation and he lives evermore that we might have an abundant life.
- 6:46Please don't mistake abundant life with worldly abundance.
- 6:51I found in my life and in my experience, the less of the world I have,
- 6:56the more abundance of Jesus I have.
- 6:57I found that the more joy and peace in my heart is reflected by how much time
- 7:02I am spiritually with Jesus and how much my focus is upon the things of above
- 7:06and not of things of earth, as he told us in Colossians to set our affections.
- 7:11Because worldly things sort of keep us down.
- 7:14I have to share this with you because it just crossed my heart and my mind.
- 7:20I recently lost my mother. I didn't lose her. I know exactly where she is.
- 7:25She's deposited in heaven and she's in the wonder care of my heavenly father.
- 7:29And she's there with my earthly father.
- 7:31But as I began to go through all the things that you have to go through when
- 7:35people die and had all these people that were talking to me about all the estate
- 7:40and all the affairs and all the things, and I thought in my heart,
- 7:43my mother left this world,
- 7:46with very few earthly attachments.
- 7:50Did you hear me? She left with very few earthly attachments.
- 7:56She didn't leave with many things that you would call possessions on this earth.
- 8:04She had what she needed and God blessed her and she had a wonderful life.
- 8:07But if you were looking at her so-called estate, she left without very many earthly possessions.
- 8:14And my mother always referred to them as attachments.
- 8:18But when my mother left this world and opened up her eyes in glory.
- 8:24What possessions she must have had what amazing things must have been in her mansion,
- 8:33jesus christ said lay not your treasures up here on earth where rust and moth the corrupt,
- 8:39but you lay them up in heaven where neither thieves nor
- 8:41steals can get neither thieves nor moth
- 8:45or anything can get to them she she had
- 8:48attachments but just like they were
- 8:51if you looked in the book of hebrews and they were beginning to chat and
- 8:54chat and it talks about abraham and they were beginning to move
- 8:57out he said i'm looking for a city whose builder
- 9:01and maker is god i'm just a pilgrim on a journey and the attachments that my
- 9:07mother have are all in heaven the things that were important to her were in
- 9:13heaven and she left this world building treasures in heaven,
- 9:18even her very last days were days that were spent lifting God up and glorifying him.
- 9:25And when it came time to go through her possessions, let me tell you,
- 9:29probably the absolute most valuable thing my mother held was a Bible.
- 9:35And let me tell you, the treasures in that word, her attachments were few here and great over there.
- 9:46And as we began to look at this lesson on but God, I want to ask you,
- 9:54where are your attachments?
- 9:57What's weighing you down here? Remember in Romans 12, getting rid of the weight
- 10:02which so easily doth beset us?
- 10:05Remember how he told us to put off the old thing and put on the new?
- 10:11And how it will be transformed daily. Do you remember any of those things that
- 10:17the word of God preached to us and spoke to our hearts?
- 10:21You see, it's all about heaven.
- 10:24It's all about Jesus. It's all about God.
- 10:28And as we begin to spend time with him, and we begin to focus on God,
- 10:35the things of this earth begin to grow strangely dim.
- 10:38And let me tell you, that's when you've got some possessions.
- 10:41That's when you've got some hope.
- 10:43You see, because your hope isn't built on something here that will fail.
- 10:46It's not built on an individual who can't sustain whatever reputation you may
- 10:52have or confidence you've placed in him.
- 10:54No, hope is built on Jesus Christ and nothing less than his righteousness.
- 10:59And that hope will never fail.
- 11:02It's important that we look at the scriptures and figure out where our hope is.
- 11:08In psalms chapter 33 and verse
- 11:1122 he says let thy mercy o lord
- 11:14be upon us according as we
- 11:17hope in thee if you
- 11:20just scoot forward just a few more chapters in psalms 38 and verse 15 he says
- 11:27for in thee o lord do i hope thou wilt hear me o lord my god see he's not hoping god will hear him.
- 11:39He has a hope in God, knowing that he will hear him.
- 11:45Just a couple pages, a couple of chapters more. Psalms 39, 7.
- 11:50And now, Lord, what wait I for?
- 11:55My hope is in thee. What are you waiting for, people?
- 11:59What more does God have to do to show you who he is?
- 12:03What more does God have to do for you to place your faith in him and you to
- 12:07be confident that he's going to carry you through this world and that he's going to take care of you.
- 12:13Psalm 78, 7, that they might set their hope in God and not forget the works
- 12:20of God that keep his commandments.
- 12:23Your strength going through this world is found in God. You see,
- 12:28but God changes everything.
- 12:31But God is our hope will take us through.
- 12:35He's never going to leave us nor forsake us. If you remember what he's done
- 12:40and what he's done for others, he'll do for you.
- 12:43He will deliver you he has delivered you
- 12:46remember all the times that he's taken you through the trial all the times that
- 12:52just in time he showed up on the scene all the times that you thought you were
- 12:57in your last moments of despair and suddenly god was there yes but god changes everything.
- 13:06In Psalm 119, verse 114, he says, Thou art my hiding place and my shield.
- 13:15I hope in thy word.
- 13:19Are you listening as we just read the scriptures, strengthening our faith in
- 13:26knowing that he is our hope?
- 13:28Regardless of what your situation, God is there and he's your shield.
- 13:35Nothing will happen to you that hasn't
- 13:38already passed through his nail-scarred hands those hands that prove his love
- 13:43for you are sifting out the things that come into your life and he has promised
- 13:49that through him you can make it through let's move now to the book of jeremiah.
- 13:57Jeremiah 17, 7 says, blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is.
- 14:06Jeremiah 33, 3 says, call unto me and I will answer thee. Did you hear me?
- 14:11Jeremiah 33, 3 says, call unto me and I will answer thee.
- 14:16And show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.
- 14:22See, we're not hoping in something that'll fail.
- 14:26And we're not hoping that he'll hang on through
- 14:29this life and get me to the next i have a hope i
- 14:32can get up tomorrow with joy unspeakable and full of glory i can have a peace
- 14:37that passes understanding i can know who god is because from genesis to revelations
- 14:43he reveals himself to me that i might have a personal relationship with him
- 14:47you see there's a but god in every situation,
- 14:52In Romans 15, 13, he says, Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
- 15:01that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.
- 15:05See, I just don't think the devil wanted that verse read, so we're going to read it one more time.
- 15:09Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may
- 15:17abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.
- 15:22Fill you with all joy do you
- 15:25have joy he said that he come to give you life and that you might have it more
- 15:30abundantly and then he says the god of hope fills you with all joy if you don't
- 15:37have hope and joy and faith then your relationship with jesus christ is out
- 15:42of kilter because he wants to fill you.
- 15:46Perhaps one of my favorite verses in all of Scripture, Titus 2.13.
- 15:52Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and
- 15:57our Savior, Jesus Christ.
- 15:59Regardless of what your situation is, you need to be looking for God on the scene.
- 16:03You need to be looking for how God is actually intervening. You need to be looking
- 16:08for God's direction on how he's sending you through.
- 16:11You need to stay in his light that it may guide your footsteps.
- 16:15Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and
- 16:21our Savior, Jesus Christ.
- 16:23When you're all alone, there's a but God.
- 16:28When you're all alone, there is definitely a but God.
- 16:34He said in Hebrews 13, 5, that he would never leave you nor forsake you.
- 16:41In john 14 16 he says
- 16:44and i will pray the father and he shall
- 16:47give you another comforter that he may abide with
- 16:51you forever my friends
- 16:54sometimes you lose people you love and
- 16:58sometimes it makes you feel like that you just can't
- 17:01go on but you see god knows what it's
- 17:03like to lose and see someone die you see
- 17:07god watched his son die on the cross of calvary so
- 17:10he knows what it's like to lose someone he loves he
- 17:14knows the pain that you're feeling he knows exactly what you're going through
- 17:18and he has said i will send the comforter to comfort you he has said i'll never
- 17:24leave you nor forsake you he understands what you're feeling there's a but god
- 17:30even in that horrible situation.
- 17:33He says and israel said unto joseph behold i die but god shall be with you and
- 17:39bring you again into the land of your fathers and that's in genesis 48 21 maybe.
- 17:47Trial you're facing is one where
- 17:50you feel alone because that one that you loved has gone on before you.
- 17:55But he said, but God shall be with you.
- 18:00And he says, and he'll bring you again unto the land.
- 18:06Sad days are upon you. But he said, let not your heart be troubled.
- 18:10And he said, I'll bring you again.
- 18:12And he told us that he was our hope and that by so he could fill us with joy.
- 18:17Oh my friend there's a but god in every situation maybe
- 18:21your situation is that your friends have forsaken you
- 18:24and that's how come you are feeling all
- 18:28alone my friends it's a very scary place to be when you feel like you're alone
- 18:35but you don't ever have to feel alone because the lord says in proverbs 18 24
- 18:41a man that hath friends must show himself friendly and there is a friend that
- 18:46stick a closer than a brother.
- 18:47There's a friend who can go with you when no one else can or will.
- 18:52There's a friend who can pass through the operating room with you.
- 18:55There's a friend that can walk up that lonely road to the cemetery and be in
- 19:02your heart and comfort you.
- 19:04There's a friend who can be with you in the middle of the night and still your
- 19:09heart and say, peace be still.
- 19:11There's a friend who will stick closer than a brother in john chapter 15 and
- 19:17verses 13 and 14 he says greater love hath no man than this than a man lay down his life for his friends,
- 19:23you are my friends if you do whatsoever i command you old people like to drop
- 19:27names of who their friends are you can say i'm a friend of jesus christ but
- 19:33your life needs to reflect it.
- 19:35Need to be able to see a change in you they need you to be to be able to see you glorifying him,
- 19:41when you don't know your way there's a
- 19:43book god in nehemiah chapter 9 verses 12 and 19 he says moreover thou lettest
- 19:49them in the day by a cloudy pillar and in the night by a pillar of fire to give
- 19:54them light in the way wherein they should go yet thou in thy manifold mercies
- 19:59or suck us them not in the wilderness.
- 20:02The pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day to lead them in the way,
- 20:07neither the pillar of fire by night to show them light and the way wherein they should go.
- 20:14You don't know your way. You're lost, confused.
- 20:19Jesus said, I am the way, and he will show you the way.
- 20:25In Psalms 119 and verse 105, he says, thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
- 20:34He leads you in the way that you should go.
- 20:38And when you're in need, there's a but God.
- 20:42When you are in need, there is a but God, and he loves you.
- 20:47In Isaiah 58 11 he says and the Lord shall guide thee continually and satisfy thy soul in drought,
- 20:55and make fat thy bones that thou shalt be like a water garden and like a spring
- 21:00of water whose waters fail not I don't know what your need is but I know the
- 21:06answer because Jesus is always,
- 21:10the answer and I leave you with this thought.
- 21:15That God is always faithful. So you can count on the but God in your life because he's faithful.
- 21:21In 1 Corinthians 10, 13, he says, there hath no temptation taking you,
- 21:26but such as is common to man.
- 21:29But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are
- 21:33able, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it.
- 21:39In 1 Corinthians 1, 9, he said, God is faithful by whom you were called into
- 21:44the fellowship of his son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
- 21:48You have fellowship with the God of the universe and his son, Jesus Christ.
- 21:53And regardless of your situation, there is a but God, and you need to but call upon his name.
