- There we go. I'm controlling this nox. Yes. Huh. It's time of time. Hey, I'm welcome to cross politics. Thank you for joining us on the fight lap. This network is good to be with you. I hope as we're slowly starting you back into maybe you want to show a week. Once a show a week. Once a show week. Once upon a time. A show week. That's not an English. No, but they all knew what I said. That's not the point. That is not. I don't know what they did know what you said. You don't. You know, I think they did. Hey guys, make sure you come to the fight lap. Feast network conference in October. First or the conference kicks off the pre business conference. One to five o'clock. If you guys know Troy Miller is going to be speaking at the business conference at the pre-conference. Troy. Yeah, Troy in our B from NRB. And then a couple of other guys that can't announce yet, but they're really cool and fun for the pre business conference. And if you can't, if you can't announce yet, Gabe, then people don't want to buy tickets yet. Man, just one of their names rhyme with Arnold. Um. It took me a second to figure that one out. No, no Donald Trump. No John Trump Jr. What what are the names rhyme with Gabe? I, yeah, I'm not a good Rimer. I know that's why I want you to try. Rander snacks. I want you to try it just a little bit. This is good. Um. And then the conference kicks off Thursday night, of course, with the Bearing Psalms, big event there. And that's free to the public. The Bearing Psalms fellowship. You can just come. Yeah, you can just come Thursday night. Sing a song is free. What? We might charge you for the beer. Yeah. I'm not gonna lie. Thursday nights are usually like the best nights. They really are like some of the the funnest nights at Thursday nights. They really are. They're they're blessed and. Aaron's just Aaron snow coming. Uh, yeah, yeah. Aaron's also easily. I mean, Baron. Aaron's. Aaron's. Mel. So leave the singing. You said smell. And it doesn't like. Yeah, Ryan. Uh, and then, uh, Friday, of course, typical kickoff. Actually, Doug Pastor Wilson's going first this year. We reord the lineup because really Doug's going to be a C.R.C. Council all weeks. Pastor Wilson can do whatever he wants. He is the only one besides Toby. I know. Yeah. And so Toby is going Friday night. Yeah. Excited about that. And then hopefully, it's another surprises in the live show coming for you. Are we going to change your topic? Because usually we open up the conference on something and repentance every time you come to church. I think he still needs to clean up. We'll see. We'll see. We've got Joe boot. Yeah. We've got George Grance. Um, um, so Joe Rigney. Nox, I just texted you. Seth. We were wanting to get in talk and then touch. Seth Grover's moving to Franklin. He's going to go into George Grance church. And really, don't you say that? Pardon me? Can you check it? I guess you said in that. He's literally moving this week to, wow. I'm going to send him a message. So I texted you and the thread with Seth because he want to get in touch. He's going to be out in Phoenix in a couple of weeks. Are we announcing the talk titles yet? Yes, we absolutely. I got him all approved from all the speakers. Because I mean, I, I feel like, I mean, you've been dragging your feet. I mean, like we, we worked on them. They're amazing. Mm hmm. And, and I haven't seen them publicly yet. And I feel like you're a little bit better. There's something like, you know, you don't want to be too like combative. Here we go. Here we go. Doug Paster Wilson. I gave him his talk title in a text. Yes, or it was a yesterday. Okay. But I just kind of described here's the, here's the description of the conference of kind of what Raymond for because they gave him part, you know, and he's like, I don't see the talk title. Yeah. And because there's all a blend of text and he's saying, it's probably because you probably communicated in gave is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, Doug read my text more carefully. And it's me. You had a, you had a web in moment, huh? No, whatever that means. And his Doug's talk title is unholy wars, slavery, Jews in your mouth. So that was, that's Doug's title. Unholy wars. Ben Merkel, the king Alfred option. Yes. So good. Yes. You wrote a book on King Alfred and the king Alfred option. We got the Benedict option. We got the bonaface option. What's the king Alfred option, Toby? You know, I don't. That's why I assigned it to him. So I want to know what it is. So I can sign up for it. Yes. I know what it is. I can blow his whole speech right now. Kill bad guys. Kill bad guys. Kill bad guys. The law. And start schools. Well, yes. And get the girl. Joe Rigny's talk title. This one's hilarious. I'm laughing already. Keller's warrior children. Yes. Keller's warrior children. Who's Kelly? He's a great warrior. I'm not going to have something super controversial every year. That's going to be long. I know. Yeah. We gave that to the Joe. We're trying to get him in trouble because he really tries to avoid it. Kind of bothers me a little. We're trying to get him to be a little bit more empathetic. Jared. Jared Longshore's talk title is Hands for War. And it's a sketch of a holy warrior based on King David. Yeah. He's been working on King David. He's been to the show on King David series. Not just the show series. Yeah. And then a past W we still haven't really come up talks out with you yet. Always say as songs and all we say is songs and swords and repentance. All right. George Grant, the next crusade lessons from the crusades for today. What can we learn? Yeah. I like that. Joe boot because this topic in the news, everything that's going on. Social justice warriors on the right. Woo. His job boots topic. So you don't want to be one of those fight. You know, we have a fight left feast in the me in the conference with a manifesto in our live show. And we still have an announcement. Who's going to be on the live show yet? We got to. We have to do that. Do we have I think there might be one more slot. There might be one more. Well, what we've been talking about is either you fill that slot and get because we usually have Doug go twice. But he's only going once this year. So we've been talking about maybe you or we can invite another speaker and I gave a suggestion in our lineup today. And our text right now. Last up. So. I think you have someone like. Fabid. Shnamin. I never liked that guy. I don't like that guy. I don't like that guy. I don't like that guy. I'm not paying to come see that guy. He's not selling tickets. So we'll all be out there. And so I hope to see you guys a beautiful weather in Tennessee in October. Yeah, yeah, Franklin Tennessee is going to be a lot of. We're not going up. Oh f network dot com or phyla feast, don't. Yeah register. We love to tell your friends again spread the word. So just in no excuse. You want to say something? I was going to say you know if I wasn't going to give a talk. I think I know what I give a talk about. Maybe a likeness. The least valued. Christian. Virtue of our time. He's been hanging out David Ristandler. I've been hanging out with Matthew Henry for the last year and a half two years. Oh. And I'm telling you that's you know, it's so valuable like it's so this doesn't want to show my family But yeah, if we're gonna do something it would probably be on maintenance. Yeah, I don't I don't read an AI I don't read the Bobo versus on meekness. Let's skip over them The meek are going to inherit the earth. Amen So don't skip over those versus Yeah, that's probably what's probably was wrong Game past all advice don't skip over the meekness versus any of verses. No It's been hilarious as we've been going through it one of the things that Yeah, there's a book called From Matthew Henry its meekness. There's a couple different copies, but if you look on Amazon They're named it different names, but ones just on meekness and in the earth, but One of the things is growing up as a charismatic and Always looking for the blessings of God. It was like you we I was We man I spent so much money on hanker chips and Holy oil and Trying to get blessings from the guy almost like a Catholic. Let's care as Maddox They're almost like Catholic Yeah, and so like I remember being at churches and it's like there if somebody will come up here right now And give us a love offer to $200 God is going to bless them with the desires of their heart Literally have have went up and give thousands of dollars to get a hanker chip that says new car, right? Like this is not I've lived that and Going through this book on meekness is like if you wanted to inherit the earth if you wanted God's full blessing on you Why don't you be meek because that's where he's placed his blessing it Nobody is running to that though. There's no line set up for that. There's no Find the people that are standing in line to inherit meekness, right? Like I want to be meek because you get in here the earth God gave that blessing I'm gonna run towards that that's not in our our psyche at all It's like you know if you want to inherit the earth you got to do dot dot dot dot and dot and it's like no the meek will inherit God has explicitly give that blessing for the meek and that's exactly the thing that we run from The blessing me in my life every once in a while will see You know observe in public or whatever's observing people and or you got you know Friends that you've known for a long time and and they'll have you know some personality flaws And I'm which we you know maybe I don't think I have but maybe maybe maybe I do But the the thing is we point out and when we talk with each other is like you know the hardest thing to Repent of is personality issues because that's who you are You know and and you need to and the hardest thing to identify is Where your person so I think one of the challenges with meekness is actually challenging you as a person and who you are and And what you become accustomed to and any you talk about is like oh this is my personality You know I mean, that's why you know, that's why sanctification is a matter of the crucifixion of the flex Yeah, like that's like that's what you're called to do is like Jesus has take up across Follow me and that's not just for decorations Mm-hmm, you know that that's for actually being crucified and Paul says I have been crucified with Christ I no longer live but Christ lives in me right Colossians 3 says put to death The works of the flesh like execute them chop off their heads But but meekness of course is like it's actually like very very similar to self-control It's it's a it's a kind of it's like power I mean the example I always give is you know that the you know when you actually are training a horse you it's the verb is you meek a horse you And so you got this this strength and energy and a horse that has to be brought under control and then governed to do good rather than do harm and and I think I think a lot of times people just think that meek sounds like weak like roll over and and and so meek means something like like Mousey or shy or Interverted and like to your point. I was like no, it just it means actually being holy in everything Being righteous in everything governing all of your powers by the power of the spirit so that they are they're they're doing exactly what Christ Once them to do it's like it's a kind of intensity actually that's governed That's that's exactly right Matthew Henry defines it in two ways a person who was fully and holy committed to God's word in Every aspect and is also committed to his Providence so we have a lot of Christians that will easily say they're committed to God's word But then as soon as the providence of God is exercised on them. They complain Yeah, and like you got to remember like those two things are connected God's word Full of beets will accept but then the thing that's going on is no different the circumstances in life the flat tire The challenges the trials the blessings the taking away all that is God's sovereign work in your life And so for you to have an attitude towards the situation that isn't full with a grateful heart or a thankful spirit But yet murmurs and complains about it is to disregard God's word in the same manner And so like you got people who have been brought out of the land of Egypt out of the house of bondage and have been brought and then God brings them into a desert and they're like Yo, thank you, but did you bring us here to die? Like the same God that set you free from Pharaoh has given you sand to put underneath your feet And the same God that has delivered you out of that mouth and out the bondage of that Horrible leader also knows that you're thirsty So why wouldn't you trust him in these things like you trusted him to save you and so like Well, God is so kind to save us from sin And then we think that God's gonna leave us in the turmoil of our lives that we're in like but if you can have a joyful demeanor and Say the God that has rescued my soul will also provide for me in this time the God who is risking my soul and place me in America Will also save our country like Whatever the situation circumstances are you understand that God has placed you in there So you give thanks for those I'm gonna pass the Toby when my son was going through his Situation still is going through his his concussion had a double concussion one on the left side one on the right side And it's it was challenging still is challenging for us by my repassal Toby told us one of the things to pray is Lord Thank you for this situation. Would you please take it away? And I thought that was like the best prayer because it's saying Lord We know this is from you and we know that you've given this to us and we know that you mean good for us now Lord help us to learn what we need to learn from it And take it away and please take it away and take it away from us, right? I'm just thinking about meatiness here as it relates to where our country's at You know, it's one thing I think to be challenged Be challenged in meatness when things are good But when things aren't good or when there's you know, I mean, I just saw up this week that apparently Gavin Newsom's basically made marketing sex prostitution in the public legal so walking out of the street women can just Legally prostitute themselves openly like pornography, you know, yeah, like Like it was already going on on the screens You can now do that in real life But you know, so you start kind of seeing it used and we know that America's not acting like a Christian nation right now and So it seems to me like part of that means meatness Into your point about meekness not like just like rolling over weak limbraced it kind of disposition, but it Meekness there's a real obedience and strength to it and Taking back our nation, right. It's very it's actually it's very closely related to contentment and and Knox was noting this earlier so it's like you know, it has both this extreme commitment to obeying scripture and And an extreme commitment to submitting to providence and And that and that element of it is the contentment element is this is the submission to providence which doesn't mean you're not Intense and active in obedience But it's the kind of spirit you have when you're when you're addressing it And I remember I think I said this on the show before but I actually posted an old article about it today on on the cross-paltic subject but the In the middle of I was reading Jeremiah Burrow's book the secret How does it go the jewel Man, just went out of my head the jewel that secret. I'm talking like Gabe the the schmoole of boy Continent dual containment I was idle Knox My Puritan boy Blankin it's yeah, I look for it you keep talking yeah, you tell me what the title something has jewel secret contentment something like that It's it's a it's very pure tin anyways Reading along and it's a collection of sermons that he gave rare jewel of Christian There go that's also good that's very good. I was only bothering me. Rare jewel of Christian Continent. Not everybody knows I never really remember it's the rare jewel of Christian Continent He's he's it's a collection of his sermons that he's giving and and in the rat and I was reading through it And he randomly mentions he's like as happened as we saw recently at Nazby and I was like as B And I and in the old banner of truth version of the book There's a helpful footnote and you look down the footnote and says the battle of Nazby occurred right in the middle of the English Civil War when these sermons are being preached And it was all like just hit me in the face like what pastor thinks you're in the middle of a civil war I know it to preach on what we need is a sermon series on Real you back right and but it but it makes absolute sense because when you when you look at the text that that he uses It's it's the it's a famous famous text. I'm I got to get it Where you know it has has the align in there from the It's one of those famous Christian calendar verses, you know I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me Well It's the verse is right before that it says That I have learned in what's Weber State I am in there to be content. Yes Okay, I know both how to be a based and I know how to be how to bound everywhere in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry both to a bound and a suffer need I can do all things through Christ Which strengthen with me in other words Keys all those things connected together and said okay If we want the strength of Christ If we want the power of Christ then we have to have contentment In whatever situation we're in so that we will be strengthened by Christ Empowered by Christ to do whatever it is that we need to do and if we don't have that contentment Then we don't have the strength of Christ and I think to your point like Why is the American church? I mean so we we far outnumber yeah the militant Muslims The militant atheists. I mean the LGBT make up the The militant LGBT we run two percent professing evangelical Christians far outnumber them and and I think it's important to say talking in America Yeah, they have they have actually I mean we are by God's grace. There is still a Presence that is holding back the tide. Yeah The fact that we have a fight going on over abortion. Yeah, the fact that we have a fight going on over Prince legalization of prostitution and we have people actually saying pornography should be illegal and And no fault divorce should be illegal and homosexuality should be illegal the fact that we have people actually saying that out loud Um, that's that's because we have so many Bible believing even jellicristened so there's a fight being had but The fact that we've lost so much ground and we are getting our hines handed to us So often is means we do not have the strength of Christ And and I think one of the fundamental reasons is because we are not a we are not a content people We are not a meek people yeah, and um and and and a lot of that's due to we really bad teaching Thankfully, I think God is raising up more faithful Bible teaching pastors that are just preaching the text and applying it to the to the to the to the lives of Christians But we've had a lot of merely Mouthed pastors Uh, who don't want to fight that don't don't the the try to their compromise full of compromise And um and so we don't have the strength of Christ. Yeah, that's right and what when you guys talk when we're talking about meekness and talking about this topic You know, I this guy was on Joe Rogan recently um talking about Lebanon used to be a Thirley Christian country yeah, and um any roll roll the clip because his comments about Uh Islam Uh, it's still I'm still sorting through it still it struck me go ahead In bayon 11 and got its got its independence in in 1948 Uh, they were Christian And they were very confident country that they were a you know, uh, they had the best universities. They had a very open society I never went to Bayrute. I don't know if you you went to Bayrute but Bayrute in the 60s was meant to be the best place on earth to be great wine Freedom Very and very enlightened It was a great lots of people with a the minute that the Muslim population went over about 15% you started to get a Problem with a civil war you got the Druze and Maronite Christians in a in a civil war with with the Muslims Uh, and now Lebanon is is a Muslim country Uh, and hezbollah backed by Iran is effectively running the show Wow It was a Christian country in the 60s Uh, I should um, I want to let me google the date when it when it really changed And 15% He says was kind of the that's when the fight started yeah When the presence was so well in the apparently it's like he's referencing a real physical violence It wasn't a cultural battle. Yeah, yeah, right. There's a civil war going on between Um, he said Christians yeah And Muslims and ultimately the Muslims have won and and hezbollah is this sort of this you know particular strain of Islam that's running the show now Well, and I was thinking you know, we we've talked about we've quoted this on before where Stalin says just give me 5% of the population. Yeah, I just looked that up and you didn't really say that but I wasn't Stalin. He's commonly it's commonly an apocryphal thing that he said. Yeah, yeah, but he but he but he's definitely um He he did say probably things like yeah um a dedicated group of people. Yeah. Yeah, right to get anything done Yeah, well the true it's the truth is amazing. I mean it's absolutely absolutely whether Stalin said or not and um uh but apparently like um What this is this is dangerous. I don't know if you guys even saw this but are um a city in Arkansas just gave Um the rubber stamp zoning for a Muslim neighborhood to build And it was a I think a private Muslim neighborhood on something like eight to nacre or something like that and you had to sign That you would be under serratory law if you were participating in this neighborhood development airborne Yeah, yeah, just just like that and now it's starting to get attention because apparently you got You got approved. You got approved in in the start to build. Wow. And this is an Arkansas. Yeah, I mean them hillbillies I mean this is that's 15% I mean, I don't know if it is or not but like talk about The physical 15% Of Muslims is what it's gonna take to start getting physical and violent in this nation I don't know doubt that that's probably a truce them in some sense to Any them especially with the Muslim ideology Um, but that was kind of my question earlier when I said well, you know, we talk about meekness You know, what does it mean to take back America as as we're starting to deal with real threats of Muslim violence and real threat, you know, what does meek this look like on this side Like when things are good what does meekness look like and when things are bad What does meekness look like okay? There's a couple things here because one of the things in first part of the book that Matthew Henry deals with why it's so important to have meekness is because meekness helps you think clearly What when you have an anger that is not fueled by righteousness what it tends to do He says is it mucky smucks up the water so that you can't see and it's designed to do this So that you can't see what's going on where the attacks are coming from what's happening It's just a cloud of smoke That doesn't allow any clarity so then you don't know what to do And so it just stirs a breath With no direction no focus and it's just made to make everybody not have any clarity and so When you're meek You are able to look at the situation and see everything for what it actually is And so you say okay, here's a plan. Here's the process When we See something like this and say oh man, we got we're getting overrun I think a meek person who is submitted to God's word and to his provenance has to look at it and say This is we talked about this the last time we did our show if if we got 15% let's just use the homosexual community 3% What something like that? We're not even getting chased by the 15% yeah like we're getting chased by three That's right. If it's an LGBT crew that's getting you know trans bathrooms past Like hey, they got a whole month They got a whole month. That's right. You know, it's like how do they get that is because The enemies know that your God is not with you Right like that's one of the things that do the anatomy talks about is not that just you won't you'll know that your Guys not with you. No, no your enemies will say oh look their God is not with them anymore Let's now make the move because one of us was putting a couple of thousand of them to flight Obviously their God isn't with and I thought of such a radical thought that these guys Who are pagans have a clear understanding that their God is not giving them a victory? Let's pounce on them not oh, let's repent and turn to the true God. It's like there's not there This is not anywhere in their foresight. It's just like we got our opportunity to cross the crushed God's people Right like this is always radical that the way the enemy thinks But they know that we are weak right now like our hillbillies don't have any power Yeah Right and that's and that's because our God's not with us And so it should be one of those moments where it's like and this is where I agree somewhat With my conservative friends is like shut down the border for a minute like let's this is let's do the things that we need to do to Insulate ourselves for a moment because we need God right like we we need God And so I'm not like hey shut down the border that Let's not have anybody ever enter again. I'm a totally opposed to that my problem with the issue of being overrun is that we don't have a conversion process Right like we have no we have no power to convert When you have the power to convert and God is on your side That 15% might come in 50% and it dwindles down to maybe maybe a half percent because the gospels in effect transforming hearts and minds and people Like there's a process that in which it washes them and it cleanses them and it purifies So that now your your nation still has Christian culture Christian everything Well, you don't have that you don't have that process you do got to put some breaks on things and say wait a second There is no and there's no Immune system in our society to Christianize the people that come in Something's broken and how we function as a nation because You know Because we have no immune system. There's no process for bringing up our kids and nurture admission all the word in the church And then so if you try and make and you go and try and say let's make all the laws You're missing it. It's like you're missing the point like it's you can make all the laws you want you can make all the walls you want Your problem is that God has left you so and I think the fact that we aren't meek we can't see this because Meek people are strong like that's part of the the thing that's missed about this I think it's proverbs 1632 that talks about a man that is able to control his anger is strong and him that is able to control his I came in with the action. What is it? Oh, it's what's the verse 1632 past you got your Bible. Do you have it there? It's something like the person who slowed anger is better than the strong and he that is Rules his spirit is mightier than him who takes over a city or something like that But the whole idea there is that I'm my memories not as good as it used to be New international knocks version there we go The David Yannin version 16 what 32 I think it's 32 or 35 I think try 32 first But but when I was talking to the kids about this And either to slow to anger is better than the mighty and he that rule with his spirit than he that take of the city Think about that for just a minute like a guy who takes a city like Come on, you know, you know how strong you have to be with your people to take a city. Yeah And the Bible is saying the guy who is able to control his apur be anger and be meek in this He's stronger than the guy is able to take a city So then it's our strength is coming because we are not make people We're not inheriting the earth because we're not trusting God it is where or is providence And so we can't think clearly and when we are and there's no question that we have angry people We have angry people, but we don't have people who are meek and angry And so that they can do the right thing And there's and there's a lot yeah, it's and it's that's the thing is notice that it says Slow to anger right, so it doesn't say no Yes, right, but it says slow to anger And and it's your point earlier. It's it's like the the wrath of man does not work the righteous Of God the wrath of man clouds your vision clouds your thoughts and really all you're doing is making things worse You you're not actually helping When you're just given over to wrath, but the man who is slow and says okay This is evil I need to consider this carefully so that I can fight it righteously and faithfully That's that's a strong man Because because initially what he's what he's being strong is is ruling his emotions. He's ruling his own Spirit of course the flip side is is proverbs 25 28 he that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls Right, yeah, that is America. That's us and and and and and you know the the opposite of meekness is not only is it giving just free range to your angry feelings, but it's basically giving free range to any of your feelings And so that's why things like you know the the plague of prostitution and pornography is so rampant in our country Like I mean Christian men are propping up pornography industry that's right that's right right? I mean Christians Are are are are going to strip clubs Christian professing Christians are are propping this up because They do not rule their own spirits and they're like broken down cities without walls. We are a nation That has broken down walls because we are a people that have no walls and we have no walls because we do not have Uh the self control and the self-government of the Holy Spirit Toby you want to read read to mad and then I want to get to I don't really want to Yeah, I will I will Business owners your company struggling to grow What if I told you that the right employee could grow your business by 510 or even 25% You'd be crazy not to take that deal right? I'm gonna bring up Texas. I'm gonna bring up forward Texas where my dad was born My grandpa's born. This is where our roots go go back And recently in Texas there's a gay pride parade because of what what was it? June, I pray a a homoprade gay parade. Oh, they still do those huh. They still do them and in Fort Worth, Texas Which used to be You guys you guys remember when I took when into Texas for our conference. Yeah, you remember driving I think I told Show you you get down downtown Fort Worth where it's like literally the stockyards. They called the stockyard Where Texas was known for its cowboys in cattle and Fort Worth. Yeah, especially Fort Worth. Yeah cowboys in cattle And anyways, uh, the cops aren't really that much cowboy no more and they don't really know much about the constitution But this this pastor was preaching Them at the gay parade as people are walking by and the cops confronted him over free speech issues and so roll the clip But no, I want to say I'm being dead serious If a biologist from me who says he's a really I call him I say sir and he gets offended is that a sightable offense I call a biologist for male a male And he says I'm offended. I'm gonna whatever is that is that it? Is that a sightable offense if he's offended by that speech man? We're talking gray area right now when I talked about earlier when I said that's a vague Conversation vague charge I'm genuinely curious. I don't believe I would cite that for a better language offensive language be is calling somebody and what are inward Curse words we don't curse for pre-trucks sure. I agree But it's more like across the way to know I don't necessarily find that offensive unless they come up you know But if they do that's what I'm saying. They come up and say hey, I'm offended by that you can continue to do that Well then that's just becoming offensive Right here's the question. It's always the hey warning. I'm feeling offended by that Didn't we're moving into the potential? But so so what if I'm offended by what they said like they come up tell me this and then the other swear and I mean what they get cited I'm offended by it. Oh, I'm offended by all of this. What's good for the good for the game? I'm offended by seeing half naked men running on with children. I'm a fat. I am deeply offended by that Press abortion. There's not much on our side to do Unfortunately, we can't do anything about the half-necking men But if a past you know, you know the real offensive stuff Yeah, the real offensive stuff. We we don't have any authority over there Wow Yeah, that's in that's not for word that's in floor, Texas. So you know, we can't do anything about the naked men They're offended by you Then yeah, at some point that's probably gonna be some causing some problems Yeah, we might think about citations, but if you're offended by them We can't do anything about it. Yeah, which tells you that yeah, we're I mean I mean number one like that's just a illiteracy problem. Yeah, constitutional literacy problem. No No, I mean English literacy problem. Yeah Like that's a product of public school education. Yeah And Because you just use that same word and like you keep using that word And I don't think you know what that word means. Yeah, like you like there's like that's not logical. Yeah It's a basic literacy problem and I think that's one of the reasons that's one of the things that people Still don't I mean I'll read the classical conversations that again, but like I don't think people realize What we have done to our nation Through the destruction of schools. Yeah, and I'm not talking about You know drag queens in kindergarten. It's like yeah, that's bad. It's the fruit of it I'm not talking about you know the bad sex education I'm talking way before that. I'm talking about failure to teach basic English right failure to teach Basic logic and basic reasoning skills right so that you can have that kind of conversation on a street And an actual cop an actual cop with the gun from his hip and a bad journalist's chest is not making any kind of logical sense He's not and it's Yeah, that's that's the fruit of Of letting the government run schools Yeah, there's a Sorry, gay. What you gonna say something? I just can say I remember sitting down with our chief of police About the whole COVID arrest and all that stuff and he told me he's like I was taught I think like one constitutional class in my police academy. Yeah, in all the years. I'm gonna cut The police chief said that yeah the police Yeah, yeah, and and I can't remember um He might have even said that like in college I'm even getting in the academy But that's the thing is that's that's the thing is why that's why classical Christian education is actually so important Because the whole point of classical Christian education going back to the seven liberal arts Is that Christians Realize this is this is something that developed through the middle ages and and into the modern world Which was the most the most important thing is to teach our children How to think and communicate clearly yeah, those are the basic tools that you need But God made this massive world and some people are gonna apply those tools in the sciences And some people are gonna apply those tools in the in technology and some of them are gonna apply those tools in Christian ministry and evangelism and some people are gonna apply them in law enforcement and military um service and but and so that those other trainings are important But the fundamental thing is the ability to think clearly and communicate clearly Logically reasonably, but if you lose that center Like Frankly, if you can't think clearly it doesn't matter if you took a hundred classes on the constitution. Yeah, let me give you Example a um Katanji brown Jackson right right who doesn't know what a woman is and she's been taking constitutional classes her entire life She's been a judge before she's on scotist. Yeah, if you yeah, there's things like you like we have we have judges Who cannot think in a straight line? Yeah, like the problem is not constitution classes right the problem is people who cannot think Like a Christian cannot think in a straight line cannot think like a human right that wasn't accident either that was the strategy Of the of so reformers knew that in order to have a society that would Turn out to be a fruitful free society They first had to be free man under the gospel of Jesus Christ and then they had to be taught How to think and read and speak to maintain that right like in society like that was something they did So then they they planted churches in schools like you were talking about that was huge And so there was a strategy that they had and that's one of the things that I think a lot of people we we've We're gotten strategy Like we we don't think about strategy at all. We just think about doing things and I'm bringing that up because What what cova did Especially when Gabe got arrested it was really interesting I really praise Moscow for this and the leadership there is that We think about strategy. We think about what's the move? Where's the leverage point at where where can I put this Fulcrum at to get the most leverage to move the thing because we don't have a lot of people strategy works When God's on your side for one you don't need a whole lot of man You know, but you can put them in the right place and you get a lot of leverage and it moves something And the left has done that With their 3% their 15% whatever they've used education for 50 60 100 years You know to get a whole society to move towards a very small minority's thought pattern and the bypass all the law I mean to be very honest with you it the God's mercy in letting our laws be so Christian Has been the thing that's kept this nation from completely fallen apart. Yeah, that's right While we have forgotten a lot the law is still in place functioning Which is why when Gabe was arrested he was able to win his case even though we didn't have people Who were smart enough not to arrest them in the first place right and I bring And bring all this up because when you see The cova made us say oh this is where we need to put Gabe got arrested we need to come back out here again and sing now again And this has become a normal habit because Christianity in the public square is becoming easier and easier to persecute into suppress So how about we don't allow that to happen and we sing the praises of our lord and king Right here and come here as come save us in this place lord When you have a police officer that is willing to do what we just saw Every church in that town to come there and continue to open their preach on every corner They had the same thing you it is the strategy to say oh Guess what we found where the enemy wants to suppress the gospel everybody dog pile on it So up there Let's go out and preach the gospel and say let's go out and sing songs and hymns and spiritual songs there on it Because That is where the battle is can be won. It's like oh, we found it. We found the place to battle We've profound a place to fight you don't have to wait until COVID comes and be like where do we fight at? We just found the spot Yeah, and the good strategy would be like hey guys Some brothers who are preaching out here Found a place where the battle is hot. Let's go take this ground That is a mountain that we need to fight on and one that gives us a lot of leverage because You started doing that if the police officer willing to save We're gonna arrest 70 people for preaching Christianity on the corner Do you think they're gonna like the egg that comes in their face when 80 f comes after them Right Do you think like I mean like that's where you you want those kind of moments that are like that are small like that to build up into something So that you like you squash it Not again, you know what is it a you know a lot of Christians send their kids public school On the public school system educate and really basically raises most of our kids easily And so it's no wonder When something like COVID happens and the government tells you to stand six feet apart You aren't arguing with them You're you're you're obeying them because you were raised by the government A lot of our Christian kids were raised by you know, I mean how many of our friends even in the reformed Christian in the world did my friends you know go to public school a lot You know the we're talking about classical Christian education. That's just beginning Such a small movement homeschooling is still small movement I also yeah, I also think too. I mean there's government schools are the are the epicenter of this cancer And all the Christians need to get all the kids out of the public schools and and you need to have them get a Christian education I'm not but I'm not sure that back to your point about like strategy knocks. I'm not sure that Christians understand just how strategic The education is Like it's this is not just something we do like it is one of the central things I'm speaking at the called conference this week and next week for new sanandris colleges called conference I'm doing five American heroes and It's really remarkable. I didn't think about this ahead of time As I just I just picked these five men that I Parsley's sort of selfish as I just really wanted to read more about all five of them. I want to learn more about them And it's remarkable that the one of the things that like very very different very many many respects all five were devout Christians But but next to that the thing that links them all up is they were all voracious learners And readers like just voracious and and And they didn't come from like like they didn't they didn't all have like high education Like they didn't all have like a they were all like this high high IQ like they were You know orphans and self-taught and tutors and you know some of them had some privileges, but it was like In none of the cases Was just handed to them as silver platter all five of the men Were they were just voracious they were just determined to read read read learn learn learn they believe that god made the world The world made sense because god made it and they all love scripture supremely at the center And I look at that I think you know that's why education matters like if we if we need an army of great men and women again And we we we're only going to get that as we raise Men and women who love to learn that that and that believe in truth and it's not just facts It's not just ideas because the thing is is even if there's there's a way of like Even having a Christian education where it's just like just like facts and ideas And it's but it's not rooted in the idea of the coherence of it all It's not it's not rooted in the idea that crisis at the center of it all It's not rooted in the idea that like and this is actually how you You build the kingdom through the truth um And and I think that's actually I think that's that's affected us significantly and and I think wow god is Again god's been kind and god is merciful and that he's allowed for many Christian kids to rise up and to embrace the faith and there have been you know the the the Millions of homeschoolers and Christian scores. I think is holding back the The dam so to speak, but I think at the same time um We've got to do it like even like double down triple down and think I mean, I've I've been saying I'm the last number of years Um that if I'm not planning to go anywhere, but if if god had ever ever called me to somewhere else and was like You know go to this Tim but to start over start something new And I right after the church that got off the ground as soon as the church is established I would start a classic Christian school right away um because um And I think they work kind of like a synergy Um and and there's you know Side of the styles that could be done all rest but like just just a kind of synergy of of raising the kids and worshipping god And working together as a covenant community builds a kind of cultural momentum Um that is that is uh I think has been massively potent here in Moscow and I think in a number of other places in the country Um, which is why we have a number of these small colonies yeah established of a Lord willing yeah, um a new uh christendom a new america on it and here one of our listeners and chat group uh in in the live chat said I'm thinking about meekness is meekness also about staying measured in our assessment of the spiritual state of the nation I'm so tempted to despair completely about the state of my own nation of Scotland When I see specific items in the news or the latest depressing stuff in the social in social media feed But I also know that god is has his people here And I know the unstoppable power that resides in the invisible church. I think meekness is partly not being tempted to judge by appearance Yeah Absolutely not like that's another one of the emotions that you can let go free is despair Mm-hmm You know, so like you can't let rage run rampant you can't let lust run rampant You can't let your other appetites rule you that's right. You can't let fear or anxiety or despair Um rule you you have to rule all those things and That's how you have a city, you know in your heart with walls And then you begin to and you model that and you embody that in your family and you are raising up a generation Of of of of of of families that then model that and they are a city with walls. Yeah, and that's the only way you end up with the nation with walls A christian nation with walls is when you have Christian people who are governing those feelings absolutely There You know, it's called on you Um We cannot forget this is why education is important too. We cannot forget our forefathers Who spilt their blood so that we be where we currently are Because you you got to remember meekness makes you the kind of person that understands that your enemies can only kill you Yep, that's right. That's it And so it gives you a level of boldness that no one else has And it gives you a level of trust that no one else has either because you know While they might be able to kill you You also know that God uses the blood of the martyrs To see the ground for the next generation And so you know your death is an in vain when you give your life to God and you know that God loves to bring things back from the dead And so when you know that this is why meekness is so important because you know the kind of God that you serve so you can serve him fully Thankfully not losing heart like passatug was saying not Being in despair because you know how God writes the stories. He does this constantly over and over again. I mean John Husse like come on you kidding me like he talked about The Luther was gonna come after him right the morning star of the reformation We forget the stories and education helps you remember how God has worked in providence and time and space over and over and over again And so the story that God likes to tell is that holy men of God go out in his power They give their lives and God transforms nations because of that Right And so when you know that you don't fear death you don't feel whatever is being played on the news You don't fear the gay pride parade or the police officer or the 15% Muslim account You say oh look at all gods bought all the enemies right here for us to destroy right. Oh look can you know John I wonder if God won't give us this battle. I wonder if I mean that's how our heart should be placed And then we do like we talked about last time with neomaya we we go to God in prayer We go to God in fast and we go to God with a broken and contrite heart and we ask for his power So that while we might spend 46 weeks Um or 52 weeks in or 46 weeks in in in prayer he gives us 42 days in battle for victory Right, but you can only do that when you really are meek and you really do understand the story and the narrative that God has It's like all right lord I love the way Jason Farley says it when you understand God and you know how he works when he puts you in a casket And you start to hear the nails go down each side of the wall You say wow, I wonder what guys gonna do with this one. How is he gonna get me out of here? Right because you know that he loves to tell stories like that And so with with with something like that you're just waiting for God to do something amazing and I I don't it's not accident that we have um Have in the last six years it seems how you know It shouldn't be but we shouldn't be as far advanced as we are we should have been gone and crushed You know, you think about Lebanon it what was that what um 60 years ago 70 years ago? Is a Christian nation or something like that? Look at America 250 years Right like It's bad, but I mean we should have been way gone We should have been gone way before now right and gotten his mercy has not done that And so we have we should take advantage of this moment. Don't wait to the big blow-ups fight the small battles now Fight them first in your heart fight them in your home fight them where you're dead locally with your church fight them in your job Fight them in your city spite them in your state fight them in your nation Right, but start local first fight those battles and see if God won't bless that The very beginning of the passage in Philippians 4 where the contentment passages Paul leads it all off with that that famous command rejoicing the Lord always again. I say rejoice. Yeah Um like that's like that's a that's a sign of meekness is that despite all the things You're rejoicing in the Lord always so in everything so he's he's learned to be content in everything But a big part of that is it's like okay Lord. What are you doing? That's that spirit of you know Wonder what guy's gonna do with this? I wonder what guy's gonna do with it. Yes And rejoicing in God giving thanks like this is from him and and like you know like Knox was saying earlier Maybe it's a hardship and so you thank God for it and then you also ask him to take it away Um, but it's rejoicing in the Lord rejoicing in the Lord and then asking God for the strength the strength of Christ To do what you need to do now Um in your family in your job your church in your community in your nation That's how God does it and he's the one that's telling the story and it's about it's it's all gonna be Told so that everybody gives glory to Christ. It's always gonna be about the glory of God and so it's God's gonna raise up heroes, but they're gonna be unlikely heroes God's gonna raise up people but like we don't know our place in it But we what we want to do is be ready for our place in it and the way we're ready for our place in it is by meekness Contentment rejoicing when you're rejoicing when your heart is clean Then you're ready for your part to play and you know, maybe maybe your part is a bit part I mean, there's so many millions of people who's you know their part was you're gonna get sick and die Yeah, he was read it. Yeah, that's right and like you know, and it's like and then but then maybe God's gonna use your brother or your sister or your son Your daughter who grew up without you and and they saw you for a few years And then that made them a particular kind of person that was tougher and stronger me That's again one of the marks of these these people that I'm studying this week is like So many of them like lost their mom or their dad or both of their parents in childhood and God does something with that It's like man like You feel sorry that like you know, Stonewall Jackson's dad dies when he's two And he has to be raised by an uncle that's not a believer and kind of a wild man and you know And but it's like that made Stonewall Jackson a kind of person. Yeah, you know, a kind of man and You know, and then it's like neighbors that are These Baptist neighbors that are sharing the gospel with them and inviting him to read the Bible with them and go to church with them And that's like how he probably was initially converted and it's like are you inviting neighbors over to church and dinner and like like you don't know who you're entertaining like you don't know who you're feeding dinner to and maybe you know You're just gonna be an ordinary family that you know God you know and no one remembers But maybe that kid that you had over for dinner and and you encourage is going on and and that person's gonna be a great general A great president a great scientist So you don't like God is sovereign. He's telling a glorious story our job is to rejoice our job is to be meek Our job is to trust our heavenly father. He knows what he's doing and we just need to be ready to obey Maybe sound nox I don't like that music But if you're single get married if you married having some kids if you have kids go baptize them until next time Love God with all your heart so my and strength love your neighbor as yourself go fight laugh and feast this is cross-polite
