- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to Reality We've Got Thoughts.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: I'm Susan.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: And I'm Debbie.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And we have got a great episode for you today talking about the latest episode of Dancing with the Stars.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: It has been a dramatic, dramatic week overall for Dancing with the Stars.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: A lot to cover.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: And so we will get into that.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: But first, we have to talk about this past weekend because for any of you college football fans, this was like an epic, epic weekend in college food.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Crazy football college football weekend.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: So many upsets, so many just fun, really good games to watch.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: It was crazy.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I was so excited because there were so many good games on, and it seems like a lot of our teams won.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: You were at the West Virginia game this weekend.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: West Virginia game, and they pulled it out in the last little bit to win.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: That was so exciting up until the end, and they got a field goal to win the game.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: So they're having a great season.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: So that was good.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: But then later in the day, we got into all of these games.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: We had Florida, of course.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about Florida first.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: I'm a Florida grad.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Florida was playing Texas, which was insane.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Florida, if you have been following them or have not been following them, they've had a tumultuous season.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: John Summerall, the new coach, started off doing great.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: They had a big win against Auburn, which I was at that game.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: And then they came back the next week and beat Ole Miss, who had just beat LSU the week before.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: So all of us Gator fans were like, we're back, we're back.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And then they had two very disappointing back to back.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Um one that hurt me bad was when South Carolina went into the swamp and the Game Cox beat the Gators pretty bad there.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Um living in South Carolina, I'm surrounded, we are surrounded by Gamecock fans.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: And I have to give them credit.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: They've got some really good players.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: They do.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: But um, and they were actually off this weekend.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: They had a bye because they were on break, but they had beat the Gators.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: So going into this game against Texas, people were definitely not expecting the Gators to win.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: Well, and Texas was highly favored to win.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: So that was exciting.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: I was dying.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: I was so excited about that game.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: And then Auburn, as we've talked about before, is near and dear to our heart because our daughters are there, and I have two daughters there, and you've got a daughter there.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: So there they were in Athens playing number one Georgia.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And Auburn, you know, going into the, I guess going into it, they were just three and two.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: They had had the loss against Florida, which we both witnessed.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: They had had a loss to Tennessee.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Um, but then they went in and beat Georgia.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: At Georgia.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: At Georgia, beat number one Georgia at Georgia.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: On a last second play of a field goal.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: And if you know the story of Auburn's kicker, it makes it even more unbelievable.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: He um had to take a year, maybe two years off.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Um, because he had some health issues and lost a ton of weight and has just made this incredible comeback and won the game for him.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: So that was really fun to watch.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Just amazing, amazing.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So we were so excited.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: And if you don't know, Auburn has the most amazing tradition of going and toilet papering on Tumor's Corner.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: So that was insane.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: If you um will share something like that on our Instagram, but if not, Google it.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: That's really cool.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I think it was one of the biggest roles they've ever had.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: It was crazy, and at the same time, I was watching on dual screen the UNC Duke game, which obviously isn't as big a name as these, but in this region, obviously that's a big game for us, and my husband is grew up a Tar Heels fan.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So again, they pulled that out kind of at the last minute.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Um, and then we were up late into the night for the BYU Notre Dame game.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Holy cow, what a game.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: That was I mean, even if you don't like either team, it was such a fun game to watch.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So BYU ended up beating Notre Dame, so now they are number two.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Florida is ranked 20.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Auburn is still out of the top 25, but in the coach's poll, they do have them 29th, so they're knocking on the door of that, and just outside of the rankings in the AP.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Which Auburn's been so up and down for so long that it's fun to kind of watch them in the running now.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and they also have a new coach, um Goalish.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Who I love.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Did you see the end with his son?
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: I'm just amazed.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Like I already love this guy.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: I was already so excited about him, but that was really and then his his daughter had something that the wife couldn't wife and daughter.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: And so his son, if you didn't watch it, his son says, Dad, can I come down on the field when oh my gosh, I'm gonna get I know Terry.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Can I come down on the field when we win?
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And so he's standing on the field, he gets really emotional and he puts his arm around his son and he goes, We're on the field, buddy.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: It was so it was so amazing.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Like the fact that his son went into it with such a positive attitude and that he was there.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: And then there is his speech that's out on the internet, um, the speech from the locker room, which is also just so inspiring.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: I just think he's amazing.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: So I'm so excited to watch these programs that are near and dear to our heart.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: And it was just an epic college football weekend.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: So there's gonna be a lot of good stuff coming up um in the future for all of these teams and um and all the changes going on in college football.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, did I miss anything?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: No.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: That was good.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: So now we got all sorts of drama to talk about with dancing with the stars.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: So catch everybody up.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Let's first talk about um Val and what happened leading up to when we found out that Val was not gonna be on here this week.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: So catch everybody up in case they don't know.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Carrie Ann last week made just kind of called Jenna out.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Jenna and Harry out, and called Jenna out and really was just, I thought, just flat out rude.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: And you don't you're not d you shouldn't be demeaning to a pro like that in front of everybody.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: If you have an issue, pull them aside after.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: It's just like adults.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Carrie's really getting getting a pass because she was super hard on them, which led to a post, a TikTok, um, that Val deleted, right, where he made the records.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: It's saying You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night in reaction to her critique.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Um and so this is the first time in history that a dancer has been suspended on the show.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: It's not the first time someone has contradicted Carrie Ann though.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: So but it is the first time that they've nixed him.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of it was just the social media backlash because Val made the post, he took the post down, but Carrie Ann just blew the post up by putting a picture of Will Smith and putting a picture of Val, and then the comment that Val made and said, So this is where we are.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, honey, you've known Val for how long?
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Pick up the phone and call him, tell him you feel totally disrespected by him, and then work it out behind the scenes.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: You don't have to make a complete Yeah.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: It really it really took it to a whole other level.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: And then it calls into question like how is this fair to Jenna DeWan?
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Because she had nothing to do with this, and now she is put in with Alan, um, which we'll talk about later.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: They did do a beautiful job, but is that fair to her?
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's fair to I don't think it's fair to her at all.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: I understand why producers did what they did because I don't think Val had the intent of throwing violence out there with his comment.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: I think he was standing up for his wife and have at it, buddy.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: That's your wife.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: He should be standing up for his wife.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: But he just went about it, he just made a poor decision and went about it the wrong way.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: So I understand why producers made the decision they made.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: They responded to the backlash online, but I think that empowers Carrie Ann to do it again.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: So here's the question Do we think that Val will be back?
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Or do we think there's a chance he's done that he's done for the season?
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And maybe they'd bring him back in a for in a future season, but what will happen now?
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Will he be back or will Alan stay in with Jenna for the rest of the season?
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: If I th I my prediction is if Val's gone for the season, neither Jenna nor Val will be back next season.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: I think they'll both be gone and find something else.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: It would be very sad.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: It would be very sad because I I definitely like the two.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: They're both so talented.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: This really got bl it shows how something can get blown up and how um and you know Or maybe Carrie Ann will be gone next season.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: I I I don't know.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: We had a guest judge this week, and I Kim Kim and Kim Johnson, who is a former pro, and I think she was a phenomenal judge.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's definitely other people out there that could do it.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, Carrie Ann, she'd been on since the beginning, right?
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: And so it's like, you know, here and there that'll be really interesting to watch going forward.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: But while they were competing, the thought crossed my mind that they just will not bring Val back.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Julianne could be judge.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: She could move into being a judge.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: What about um did you see that Gleb also like it's like this thing went on and on.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Gleb made a joke, like Yes.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: So Gleb made made some comment about Alan dancing with Jenna.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: And in fact, Tatum sent me a screenshot of it and said, What is going on with the show?
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: My daughter said, What is going on with the show?
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: And really, Gleb has issues with everybody.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Gleb has always kind of been known to have issues with everybody, but it just created this chaotic storm that was completely unnecessary.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: But it's the drama, it gets people talking about the show, and maybe that's what producers want.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: It definitely went on and on, but it was definitely like the drama that was that would not end.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: So it had us going into dedication night with a lot of expectations and curiosity about how it was going to turn out.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and Alfonso addressed it at the very beginning of the show.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Did you catch what he said?
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, what yeah, remind me.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: He all he said was that Jenna will be dancing with Alan because Val will not be with us tonight.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's right.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: I thought it was very light.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: It was very just like straight to the point.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: And then just preemptively, didn't you think that Carrie Ann was on her best behavior?
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: She like almost nauseatingly.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: It was like way to the other extreme.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: And we'll get into that more when we talk about how so obvious her comments on all the different dances.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Yes, because she did at one point make some comment about a lift again or something.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, there were a couple times that I rolled my eye at that.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: I was just like, oh come on.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: So that's the thing, is now are we gonna feel like she, you know, did this?
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: It's just gonna be really interesting to see how this all plays out.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: So um I will say dedication night, what an inspiring episode, right?
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Always.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: It's always a great episode.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Um Julianne's outfit, she nailed it this week.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Yes, nailed it the whole look.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: She looked so elegant and glamorous, and she nailed it.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: I just have nothing you give or say about it.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Nope, I agree.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Beautiful dress, very appropriate for dedication night.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: This was definitely my favorite look of her so far for the entire season.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: It was Scaparelli, which of course is just, I mean stunning.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Absolutely stunning.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: I there's not I I love everything that they do.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: So her hair, her makeup, everything hands down, best look.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And even she got her pep back with the thanks, Alfonso.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Did you notice?
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Yes, I agree.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: She was great.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: So that started us off.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: And then what about what about Kim Johnson?
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about her.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: You mentioned her Australian former pro, former pro.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: One two mirror balls, I believe.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: And a phenomenal dancer.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: She is a beautiful dancer and choreographer.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: And if you don't know, what's interesting is she met her husband.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: You know that, right?
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: He was one, she was he was her partner on the show.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And they fell in love and got married.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: And they've been married for how long now?
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: Um, I think 15 years.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: They um yeah, they met on the show.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: There is an age difference between them, but only 14 years.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: He is um the a Canadian businessman and investor.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: A lot of you guys know him from Shark Tank, Robert Herkivik.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: I Hercchevik.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Herchevik.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: I think I'm saying that right.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: I can never say his last name, but you guys, if you watch the season, they were partners on season 20 of Dancing with the Stars in 2015.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: They got engaged in 2016 and married later that year.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: So 10 years, they've been married 10 years, and they have twins that were born in 2018.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Um, so that was pretty cool.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: I didn't notice he did, I don't think he was necessarily there last night.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I don't think he was.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Um, which is fine.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: He uh they did not show him.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Um, I did meet him actually in May.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: He was here in Myrtle Beach as a celebrity at the PGA tournament that we have.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: And I will say he was the nicest guy of all the celebrities.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: He was very friendly, talked to everybody, um, was very personable.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Um, but that was kind of neat to have her back.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Um, but like you said, that she could be somebody who could potentially potentially take over.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Somebody else was there that's near and dear to our heart.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: Um, some of you guys may follow Hannah Young on Instagram, and if you don't, you need to check out her um her account, if I could speak.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: If you're watching us on YouTube, I'm gonna hold it up here.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: She's Hannah Young under Uh-Ha Hannah, and she is hilarious.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: She gives her takes on everything from Justin Timberlake to Mahjong to marriage to parenting to anything you can think of in her own unique way.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: And she was invited to be a guest and sit behind the judges.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: And she was right there, front and center, behind the judges.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: It was so cool to see her there.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: So, um, so please check her out on Instagram and we will um we'll share it on our Instagram too.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: So if you're not already following us on Instagram, please check us out at reality we've got thoughts um for all the fun stuff we do there.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: But I guess we can get into the competition now.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Now, again, I'm so confused how they decide the order on who goes when.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: I just don't get it.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: I tried and tried to figure it out.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna tell on myself and say that I made a note to look it up and see if we could find out any information.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: So if somebody knows, please go to our Instagram and tell us.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Because it's weird.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: It's not based on the leaderboard from last week exactly.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: It is just a little bit so I do think there is something to it, but we don't know what.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: So, first off, we had Ezra and Danielle, and Ezra dedicated it to his mom.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Dedication week is my favorite when they do the montages beforehand because you really get to know them and why they want to dedicate it to whatever, whoever, um, and just why it's special to them.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: So I that's one of my favorite parts.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: Um, he dedicated it to his mom and gave a nod to the book, I love you forever, I'll love you for always, in it because his mom used to read it to him all the time when he was little.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: But I I just love his story and his mom, she was an actress and quit quit working to help him when he was born with you know some disabilities and just worked with him, so he never once felt different.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I love how he said that she always told him, I want you to walk into a room and be confident and not, you know, not hide.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: She didn't hide his leg or his hand.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: And I mean, what a cool lady.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: It was they did the tango.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Is that right?
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: No, they did a contemporary.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: They did contemporary contemporary.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: I don't know why I had tango now.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: And oh my god, at the beginning, when she stood on his prosthetic and they did that move, it was so beautiful.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: And he was just flowing along the dance floor and those lifts, like it was perfection.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: I I loved it.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: And I don't know if you noticed this, but where he was barefoot and not wearing a shoe, he was uneven the whole time.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: So one leg with that prosthetic was longer than his regular leg, so he had to balance himself out.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: It's just amazing.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: He's just amazing.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Um I I just thought it was so emotional and beautiful.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: And like you said, that lift with the prosthetic was just the choreography, Daniela nailed it again.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and Bruno said so inspiring, life affirming, your attitude, um, you know, all the the opportunity that what he has shown us, the lessons and the character has just been amazing.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: And Carrie Ann told said the impact you had on your son has spread to all of us.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Um, and he talks about the way that you know he Ezra went off into the solo to tell the story, and it was just it was great.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: It was, it was absolutely beautiful.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Every every one of the judges loved it.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Um, the physicality that that took was amazing.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: And he got his first 10 of the season.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say the scores reflected how good, and Kim came right out of the gate with that 10, and I think it was very well deserved, don't you?
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: I think it was very well deserved.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: And then nines from everyone else.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: So pretty much close as close to perfect as you can get.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he was great.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Loved it.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: All right, Tatiana and Jan.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: She dedicated it to her dad from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: James Avery.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: James Avery, who is no longer with us, died in 2013.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: And they did the Viennese waltz.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Um, I thought it was so cool how they brought Alfonso into the dance because they were on Fresh Prince of Bel Air together.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: And um he kind of stepped in in the role of dad.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: It was really sweet and really special, and I think it meant just as much to Alfonso to be able to be part of it.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was it was really nice that Alfonso, I I made note that he said James was the most lovable, charismatic, intelligent person, and a very important part of our lives, and this is to be part of this is a blessing for all of our lives.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Super cool.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: And I I felt that way too because I watched probably every episode of that show multiple times, and I and feel like for those of us that grew up in that time period, we could feel like that was somebody that we would want to be our dad.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Like he played that character so well.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I had chills when Alfonso came out because like after being the champion, I think it was season 19, right?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: And having been on the show with, you know, um, and for her to be here now and for them to honor James in this way, I just loved it.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the judges loved it.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Said she was glowing Bruno said she was glowing tonight.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: It was wonderful, the ease of flow on the wings of her guardian angel.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I thought that was really beautiful.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Uh it was like old an old Hollywood film come to life, is what Carrie Ann had to say.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: And Derek said it was one of her most improved, which I thought is great.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Bandit.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Hi, Bandit.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Bandit's trying to join us.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: The dog, my my young dog is trying to get in on the podcast.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: Anyway, um I it was her best score of the season.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: I didn't feel like it was her best dance of the season, but it was her best score of the season.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I did think that she looked absolutely gorgeous.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: I know that the singing, you know, she was singing the song.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: She recorded the song to.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't think I even realized that she could sing.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: I didn't survive it until after the fact.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I know that shouldn't count towards the scoring or anything, but I did think that was cool.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Um, and I love how they put the photo of him up at the end um and all of that.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: But I agree with you, maybe, you know, they all um, you know, they they definitely loved it.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: Moving on to Mora and Mark.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Maura dedicated, she's Irish and she dedicated her dance to Ireland, to the country of Ireland.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: And they did the Pasa Doble.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: They were also joined by Lucky Howard, who's from Lord of the Dance, uh, which I thought was super cool that they would pull in that Irish um dance into it.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: I thought I loved it.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: I thought it was very fierce, very powerful.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: You could tell she was just in her element out there.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: The costumes were amazing.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: The costumes with the color was beautiful on stage.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, loved it.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: It it was great.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: It was interesting.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Um, do you know if that's the first time that someone has literally done like a place, like a whole people, like it was such a broad thing.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: But I thought in her case it was so appropriate because, like she said, coming from Ireland, and there are so many parts of Ireland where people are just really fighting, like she said, we're fighting for everything and to get somewhere and do something.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: And she said, even though they really couldn't legally watch the, you know, legitimately watch the show or vote for her, she felt their passion.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: So I thought that was cool.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: That was cool.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: And she also got very high scores, 35 out of 40, with um three nines and an eight.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Judges loved it.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: They did comment that her shoulder she needed to watch her shoulders and the frame of her shoulders.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: She needed to straighten up a little bit.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Like we all need to, probably.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Who do you have next?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Jackson and Emma.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Our little savannah banana boy.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: He dedicated it to his mom and they did a quick step.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: I thought it was really energetic and fun.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: And you could tell Jackson was having fun out there.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: I think we've got Jackson back.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I do think so.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: He um he did said himself in the package that he thought he had a break through bl breakthrough last week, and I would have to agree with that.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Um he said his mom was the strongest, most patient person, said she was a special ed teacher for 40 years.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: I think we can all agree that you would have to be a very special person to do that.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: So that was cool.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, telling this story of a woman full of love is what he said he wanted to achieve with the quick step.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: He looked more confident.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: He was definitely more confident.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: He he was just more comfortable.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, looked like he was having fun.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Um I thought it was great.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: I thought it was one of his best dances yet.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: It was very energetic, very fun.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: The only um criticism he had was from Kim, and she said his frame needed to be a little bit more locked in.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And I could see that, and hopefully, if he listens to that, I think that will be really good advice for him because he definitely seemed to be moving much more effortlessly around the dance floor and covered the dance floor.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think that he improved greatly, and they did and they did the judges did say that.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: So I think it was good that Kim told him that.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: Because if he listens to that, that could make a huge improvement right there.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: And the crowd response seemed good.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Um, and actually, I thought it was cute that Alfonso, because sometimes I'm like, should Alfonso make some of the comments he makes?
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Because he will make comments that are a little skewed.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: But he said, You rocked that one, bud, you rocked it, great job.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: So Alfonso liked it.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Um, but they did tell him Derek and Kim told him about the shell, the the elbows, the shoulders, the frame.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Derek said, Great quick step, but maintain the frame.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: So um 32 out of 40, all eights, very, you know, good score.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: His best score yet, too.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: I think everybody got their best score yet.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: The scores are going up.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: The scores are definitely going up.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: And the performances are getting better.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: They're getting better.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: We're getting further in the season, so they should be getting better.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: So, all right.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Amber and Pasha.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: She dedicated this to her sister Brooke, and they did a contemporary.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: I love contemporary dance because I feel like they can be a lot more expressive with the contemporary dance, and they're not so focused on you know, structure and frame and all that.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: They can be a lot more expressive.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: So I love contemporary style for that purpose.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: And especially for this, right?
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: And especially for this to tell a story.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: Um, it was very emotional.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Amber um growing up really struggled when she started to get into the limelight with skating, and there was so much pressure on her, and she got depressed and had an eating disorder and had mental health issues, and her sister was the one that came to her rescue.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: And so she wanted to dedicate this to her sister just to show her how much it meant to her that she saved her, basically.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: And I thought it was so interesting and poignant that she said, you know, she and her sister had been so different because her sister was living more of a normal childhood with friends in regular school, and she was on this other path.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Yet it was so cool how her sister immediately came and she said she integrated her into her friend groups and made her feel good about herself.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: It's just, I mean, like she made how are you not?
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: The story was unbelievable.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: And I thought Pasha's ability to turn that, bring that story to life with his choreography was unbelievable.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: It was beautiful.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: It was absolutely beautiful.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: There were so many good ones, but from a choreography and storytelling standpoint, this may have bit won the night for me.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and and they're both just amazing.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Like, and again, the athleticism in the routines with the lifts and the motions and the and uh it was just I mean, I think it's clear at this point that Amber and Ezra are our two athletes because it really is starting to show even more in their dances how athletic they are.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And when you think about the fact that Amber and Pasha are doing so well together now, because remember, was it week two?
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, they literally had like a fight.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: Like struggle.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: They we were thinking She was in tears.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: They this is gonna be a tough matchup because we were thinking that they No, I think our chemistry has finally found found its spot.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Sorry, the dogs.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we got dogs.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: We got dogs doing something.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: It's like take your child to work today over here.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: Bandit, bandit, come here.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Um anyway.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Anyway, she got a 10.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: She got two tens.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: Carrie Ann and Kim gave her tens, Bruno and Derek gave her nines.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: It was just, it was, it was crazy, crazy good.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: It was great.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, and then we can't forget about Pasha.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Pasha wins Sexiest Dancing with the Stars Pro.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: From People Mag People Magazine.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: People Magazine.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: For People Magazine, yes.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: That was so cool that they announced that.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: That was really, that was really fun.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: And um, and who was in the back?
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: Wait, one of them was in the back.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Oh god, I can't remember now.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Somebody listening is gonna yell the name out.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Standing right behind him.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: One of the other pros that was right behind him gave like that was in the running because he was in the running for it, too.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, and he kind of gave him a look like.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: I can't we think of who?
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Oh gosh.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Brandon was it?
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: No.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: But anyway, that was funny.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Anyway, that was very funny.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Anyway, it was great.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Go, Pasha.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: But how embarrassing is that to be standing on national television and have him announce that you're the sexiest pro.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: So that must mean that um we I have to look it up.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: It must mean that Jackson didn't win like sexiest TikTok, or wasn't he up for like sexiest TikTok or something?
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: We'll to Google that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Google that.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: I didn't even think of that.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: So the one we were waiting for Jenna and Alan.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: So Jenna was paired up with Alan this week because, like we said, Val was not there.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: She dedicated to her mom, the Viennese Waltz.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: What did you think of it?
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: It was good.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: I I don't know.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: You missed Val.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: I missed Val.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: Maybe I was too focused on that, um, you know, uh I don't know.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: I thought it was beautiful, and I almost kind of feel like Jenna was paired with the wrong pro.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: That's why I kept thinking I think they were beautiful together.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: At first I wondered if Val was gonna choreograph it, and then she would just do it with Alan.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: But Al Alan did the choreography and it was absolutely beautiful.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: I predict that Val is out.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: I predict that she will be continuing on with Alan.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: I think it'll be announced within 24 or 48 hours from now.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: I think they'll bring Val back.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: It'll be interesting.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Unless Val puts digs in his heels and doesn't want to come back, but I feel like Jenna and Alan had better chemistry.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: There's something between Val and Jenna that's just not clicking.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: And it clicked last night.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: I I thought the scores were a little high, but I'm no professional judge.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Um, so this is what I was here for was to see the drama and see it.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, she's good.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: We know she's good.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: I know she wasn't a ballroom dancer, but she's a dancer.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: It's true what Kim said.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: There was very high expectations for her, but I think she's met the expectations.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: See, with Val and Jenna, I feel like Jenna is always fighting for Val for who's in charge.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: With Jenna and Alan, she let Alan lead the whole thing.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: It's interesting.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: I just I thought it was beautiful.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: I I thought she deserved deserved the score she got.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: I thought it was very beautiful.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Her mom looked stunning.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, her mom's beautiful.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: That was cool.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it was good.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: So she got a 10 and three nines for a total of 37.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: All right, let's move on to Harry and Jenna.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: Harry dedicated this to his wife, Shelby, and they did the foxtrot.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: And at the very beginning of the dance, they brought his parents out, which I thought was so cool.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: This was my favorite of the night.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: From a dedication standpoint, this was probably my favorite of the night.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm saying.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: I I have to agree.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: The the way that they told the story, he and Shelby have been together for 20 years.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: He said she taught me how to live and find the funny and everything.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: It's such a sweet story.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: I just like felt almost like she brought him to life.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: And John Mayer, what a beautiful song, with you know, and what a good idea.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Like Jenna did such an amazing job with the choreography and the storytelling.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Jenna's choreography was phenomenal.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: And did you notice Carrie Ann commented her on her choreography?
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Which all kind of made me mad.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: I wrote down Carrie Ann was over the top nice.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: Over the top of the nice.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: It was like, you know.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: And like she said, you know, Jenna, way to embrace the quality of the foxtrot.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: It's too little too late.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: You humiliated Jenna's husband.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: I don't want her messing up this experience.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: I love this dance.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: I don't need Carrie Ann's overly nice fakeness messing up.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: No, just let him dance.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: It was amazing.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: The parents at the train station and sitting with their daughter.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: His wife did great.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: And then this daughter, Zia, at the end.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: And even Kim commented.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: She said, You are known as a hip-hop dancer.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: And what I saw tonight was not a hip-hop dancer doing balling.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: It was a ballroom dancer doing the foxtrot.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: So I thought that was great feedback.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: So good.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: I loved it.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: And they I'm surprised he didn't get a 10.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: I was surprised that there was a lot of things.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: The tens that were going out, I'm surprised they didn't give him a 10.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: But he got straight nines, but his biggest score of the season as well.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: Which is maybe why they scaled back on the 10 so he could still move up.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: But it was great.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: All right, let's move on to Connor and Riley.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: Connor dedicated this to his dad, the Viennese Waltz.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: And see, this is where I love the storytelling beforehand because you get to know them.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: Nobody would really would have known that his dad's been struggling with cancer for since he was little, since Connor was little.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: And um I loved his dad.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: I thought it kind of made me see why Connor is the way he is.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: And I look a lot like his dad.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: And I his dad just seemed to just have like he was, you could tell he was so proud of him.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: And I loved what his dad said about we're lucky if we're distressed about dancing, right?
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: What a lesson for everyone.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: That's so true.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: And that he went through that, and that Connor said that when he was little and his dad was going through all that with cancer, he always, you know, still kept positive.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Um, I love Billy Joel.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: I'm a huge Billy Joel fan, so I loved Piano Man.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: I loved the outfits, the colors, loved, loved, loved everything.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Um I I I don't even I almost didn't even want to say this, but I have to say it.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: It was a little weird to me that they didn't find a way to incorporate him into the dance more.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: I think his dad was probably really uncomfortable dancing.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: That's has it ever have you ever noticed that in the past?
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: Because you've I haven't watched as many seasons.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: It was fine.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was fine.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't, yeah, I mean, he's still got the highest.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: And maybe Riley just couldn't figure out how to work him.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Connor is not the strongest dancer.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's apparent.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: Connor is not the strongest dancer, so I think Riley had a lot of work to do just to get Connor up to speed.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: So instead of wasting instead of putting too much time into that.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: And maybe, maybe dad just did not feel comfortable.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: And again, I don't even want to say it because it was amazing.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: And I and I I mean I can't imagine going out there with zero dance experience and going on national TV on a live show and having to dance.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Heck no.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: No, you won't sorry, Tatum, you won't catch me up.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: No, I I mean they're never gonna ask me to be on Dancing with the Stars anyway, but I am so uncoordinated.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: There's no way I would be able to do it.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: You could probably do it.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: I'm signing you up for Dancing with the Stars here locally.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: No, it's not gonna happen.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: It's not gonna happen.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: All right, he got all eights, which was his best scores of the season, too.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: So he was happy with it.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: All right, Tyler and Sharna.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Tyler dedicated to his mom that died of a sudden brain aneurysm, and they danced a contemporary dance.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: So again, I feel like they have the opportunity to be super expressive with this contemporary.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: And it was sweet how he said not only to his mom but to moms everywhere.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: I thought that was sweet.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: And he pulled in his fiance Tate to dance with them.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, I was not prepared for the letter that he had written to his mom that he started reading at the beginning of the dance.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: I was literally sobbing through the dance.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: It was so sad because I was already emotional when he was saying that when he goes to weddings and he sees the moms dancing with their sons.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: And it's just like, yeah, that I mean Which totally got me because right before he had gone on, I have a nephew that's getting married next month, and he had texted my sister, my older sister and I, and said, Hey, I want to do a mother's son dance with my mom.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: What's a good song?
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: So I had already been going through looking for songs, and so when Tyler brought that up, I was just like so sweet.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: Stabbed to the heart.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: Right here I am trying to find songs for a mother's son dance, and he can't even have that opportunity.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that was That was very That was touching.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: Um again, this had beautiful storytelling.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: Um, Sharna was said she was representing his mother's spirit and her presence.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: Phenomenal too, right?
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: There was a little too much smoke, and I wondered if that was on purpose to mask his dancing.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: Because we we still agree he's getting better, but he's not the best dancer.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: There was a ton of smoke, and I always think that that is strategic to help mask the dance work.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Um but then they turned it into a celebration of new life and announced their pregnancy.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: They I was like, they are so smart, which granted it is fun.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: They're on this show.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: This is happening to them in real time in their real life while they're on this dancing with the stars journey.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: But there was part of me that thought, how strategic to get people on your side that you're announcing you're having a baby.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: You were at the bottom of the total pole last week.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: You've been on the bottom, and you've pulled at everyone's heartstrings now.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: And now you're having a gender reveal.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: How can you cut me if I'm having a baby?
- 37:09SPEAKER_00: How can you, yes, how can you cut me if I'm going through all this?
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: I was like, all the drama that the judges were crying, everyone's crying.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: Because first they say they're pregnant, and then Alfonso says, Oh, and you've also you don't know yet what you're having, and you've agreed to find out with all of us here.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, I was so happy for them, but the cynic in me was definitely like, is this to get you off the bottom?
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: The bottom and save you from elimination.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: I was just a cynical.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: Um and I did love it.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I went into this episode not expecting to love Tyler's dance, and I did love it.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: Yes, and you get and you gotta give Sharna a lot of credit for that, like we have already said, because she is an amazing storyteller, and the choreography was a 10 out of 10.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: Um Kim said that she could relate because she never got to meet her husband's mom.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Um, Bruno, of course, started out by saying, You know, I like you, because we know Bruno definitely um, you know, has the thing for him.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: He loves loves him.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: Um so so that's good.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: Um what else?
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: Uh Derek said it was the perfect combination of poise, fun, and emotion.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: So I did.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: I loved it.
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: I did not love the way it ended.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: I thought, like you said, I think it was too much fanfare.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was a little much.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: But he also got all eights, 32 out of 40, so big, big day for them.
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: So last I'm down to get everyone?
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: No, Julian Ezra.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: Oh, Julian Ezra.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, so Julian Ezra, um, this was also very, very heartfelt.
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: I loved that she chose Heath Ledger.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: They were in a movie together called Ten Things I Hate About You.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: Um, and she said, I learned so much from him.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: He was so authentic.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: So she also did contemporary dance, which, like we said, really um lends itself to this episode and doing the dedications.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: They the dance was to Can't Take My Eyes Off of You.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: What a beautiful song.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: I was like, love this song.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: Um, she said, Life is too short, and we should enjoy every minute that we have on this planet.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: Um it was it was so powerful.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: It was very powerful.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: It's sad for his life to have ended um so suddenly so suddenly.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: And at such a young age, too.
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: And I thought it was nice at the end of the dance, they brought out other cast members.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: From the movie.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, from the And I misspoke.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: My comments about Derek saying it was a perfect combination of poise fan and emotion was on Julian Ezra's dance.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: Because she did.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: She came out with some emotion and then it kind of turned into this fun little jazzy bit.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was fun.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: And that's what Bruno said.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: Wonderful, wonderful tribute to an outstanding talent.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: Um, Carrie Ann was gushing again, said contemporaries about expression of the soul, and tonight watching you makes me want to open my heart, and that was so healing.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: And um, something I thought was really poignant is Carrie Ann said to her, I know you came in shy and scared, but you are no longer that at all.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: And I'd have to agree, wouldn't you?
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: I'd have to agree too.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Overall, I did not love the dance.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: I I thought it was okay.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: But I didn't it didn't draw me in like Carrie Ann was drawn in.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: As much as I love her story and I like her, she has not, her dances have not been my favorite throughout the season so far.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: So far.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: So then they go into the elimination and they're getting ready to say the following couples are safe from elimination, and they were already playing the credits on the bottom.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: So I was like, what is going on?
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: And I should have realized they're like, everyone's safe.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: Which how do you eliminate someone with a dedicating eye?
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: I we'll have to go back and double check, but I don't think they've ever eliminated couples on the dedicated night.
- 41:16SPEAKER_00: Which is fine.
- 41:17SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: And I guess it's fine.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: Because now it sets them up that next week is horror movie night and Shirley Belaz Belaz, am I saying her name?
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: Shirley.
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: So Mark's mom.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, duh.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 41:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, wow.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: And she is hardcore.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: Hardcore, hardcore.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: So as someone who's at not, now I get it.
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: And Julianne says, um, they said she's a dancer's worst nightmare, and Julianne said, I can attest to that, but then they've said, Oh, we love her.
- 41:51SPEAKER_00: She's one of the most respected ballroom dancers, but she is so strict.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, very strict.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: So that'll be really fun.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: And there's gonna be two eliminations.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: So they're gonna catch up.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: So I think that it makes a lot of sense, like you said, not not to do that.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: And then in two weeks, they're gonna have Disney on Broadway.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which is gonna be fun.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of excitement coming up.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, who would you have who would you have eliminated this week?
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: Would you?
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: Well, like you said, that's the problem.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: How do you eliminate someone?
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: I appear you just dedicated to this mother, but you got axed.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: If I was in a pool, I would pick Tyler to be eliminated next.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: Um, but they're not gonna eliminate how was he gonna be eliminated with that?
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, so should we try to predict let's predict out of everybody left, um Who's going home next?
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: It depends on how they're holding.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, who was in the bottom?
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: It it depends on how their dances are next week.
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: And let's see, there were four people tied in the bottom this week.
- 42:58SPEAKER_00: The four tied in the bottom this week were Connor, Jackson, Tatiana, and Tyler.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: And see, I think Tatiana has improved so much that I can't, but she may be so those are the four in the bottom.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: Mora was actually, she was number six.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: She only got 35.
- 43:17SPEAKER_00: Julia got um Julia Styles got 36, Harry 36, and then Jenna and Ezra were tied at 37, and Amber and Pasha.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: And it's funny because I was thinking when Amber and Pasha ended up on the top, remember Tatum, your daughter, and and Blake, my daughter, they were saying that they thought that she could win, but they were worried early on that she wouldn't be liked enough.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: But I think she has been combating that.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: I think her whole story with her dedication dance, people are seeing a whole different side of her that they did not realize was there.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: I think her fan base is a very good thing.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: There's so many fans that can relate to that.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: So I think she is moving to a full.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: She's moved herself up on the totem pole because of that.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: So so I don't know.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: I think our two weakest dancers at this point are probably Tyler and Jackson, are probably the two weakest dancers.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Now, does either one deserve to go full?
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: So do you think Connor between Connor and Jackson?
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: I think Jackson's improved.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: Like one of the judges said he was the most important.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: Jackson's probably actually Jackson's probably a stronger dancer than Connor, but I think Connor has a bigger fan base.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Jackson's got that Savannah Bananas fan base.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: How many followers does Jackson have on Instagram?
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: Connor has like 700 something thousand.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: And TikTok.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: And look up his TikTok.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: What is um Jackson has 1.2 million on Instagram, and Connor, I think, only has so he has almost um twice as many.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: But what about TikTok?
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: So Jackson on TikTok has 2.3 million followers and Connor.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, Connor has 801 on Instagram.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: I swear he had seven something.
- 45:04SPEAKER_00: He must be increasing.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: And Connor has 1.3 million followers on TikTok.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: So Jackson Jackson has how many on TikTok?
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: 2.3 million.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: Jackson has a lot of people.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: So Jackson's got a bigger following.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 45:16SPEAKER_01: It'll be interesting.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, if you had to bet money for next week for two to be eliminated, who do you think?
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: Let's let's let's I think I think the chemistry with Riley and Connor is better than the chemistry with Jackson and Emma.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: I think Jackson's also better now that the banana ball season's over and that he's able to focus more.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: So I think we could see even more.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: Of course, I of course I've admitted from the beginning I'm biased.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: Speaking of full circle moment here with college football, did you see Riley made after dancing with the stars and everything?
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: She went out to Utah because her boyfriend plays for BYU.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: And her boyfriend is the one that made that last touchdown catch for BYU.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: Talk about six degrees of separation.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: So she was out there at the game.
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: She was out there at the game.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Alright, so who were you two pick?
- 46:06SPEAKER_00: If I had to, if I made you pick, pick.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: If you made me pick.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: Let me who's mine gonna be?
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: Two to be eliminated.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: Maybe I I don't know.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Tatiana's on my list to be eliminated too.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: I love her story and I love her.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: I just don't think she's gonna be the strong enough dancer to make it all the way.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: So Tatiana.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: If you had to pick two for next week, Tyler.
- 46:35SPEAKER_00: You're picking Tyler and Tatiana.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go out on a limb and I'm gonna say Julia and Tyler.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: I just don't think Julia is gonna have the following, but maybe I'm wrong.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: I need more pep from her.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: She's she's very serious.
- 46:52SPEAKER_01: Or at least she comes across as very serious.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: So I need more pep from her.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: I just think there's gonna be more momentum against other people that are left in the because wait, we're down to we're getting close here.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: We have we're down to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, ten, two, four, six.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, we're down to ten.
- 47:13SPEAKER_00: Then we're gonna be down to eight.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna be exciting.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: All right, I can't wait for next week now.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: So if you guys are not please go to YouTube, follow, subscribe, all that stuff.
