- 0:41a criminal history he might be planning wrong
- 0:45with the third party and the third party can
- 0:48kill your ass if they're crazy enough so pay
- 0:52attention and listen to part two it might save
- 0:57you some chaos in your life And the texts keep
- 1:08coming You are fucking whore Liz and then the
- 1:13man says he felt like Liz was being harassed
- 1:18because he dated this other woman Remember Liz
- 1:23is the first one he met and He told her he was
- 1:31not looking for anything serious and then came
- 1:34along this other woman who told him she was not
- 1:39looking for anything serious and this other woman
- 1:43started harassing Liz doing all this crazy shit
- 1:48if you're lost go back to part one honey you
- 1:54won't regret this so this other woman was telling
- 2:01Liz she's a homewrecker and She's a whore This
- 2:09is the same woman who told the man that she didn't
- 2:13want anything serious and they were only dating
- 2:16for two weeks Are you listening? Are you listening?
- 2:22Listen after Dave broke up with Liz After the
- 2:29second woman starts harassing Liz Liz went to
- 2:33Dave for comfort And because she was scared,
- 2:38Dave said he felt like he needed to protect Liz.
- 2:43And they rekindled their relationship. Begin
- 2:49putting the parts together. Connect the dots,
- 2:52people. By the way, they're kissing in front
- 3:02of the big window. With the blinds open and no
- 3:06curtains. I Don't know what some of y 'all do
- 3:10this I Used to do it when I was young 21 have
- 3:18my first apartment. I used to have sheer curtains
- 3:20I never left my blinds open, but I didn't realize
- 3:23you can actually see through sheer curtains.
- 3:28I Put some sheets up there and the next week
- 3:31I couldn't afford to go buy anything the next
- 3:34day the next week I wouldn't bought some blackout
- 3:37curtains so they're kissing in front of the window
- 3:43where everybody can see like come on now and
- 3:48they know this person is stalking them so Amy
- 3:56is Day's ex -partner like I mentioned before
- 4:00They have a few kids and the kids go over Dave's
- 4:04house on the weekends. Now at this point Liz
- 4:08and Dave are living together. Are you confused
- 4:12enough? I sure was until I had to like listen
- 4:17to it again and sort back and you know do the
- 4:20pegs and all that crap. So the kids are aware
- 4:26of what was going on. kudos to Amy because after
- 4:32the kids told her about the vandalization vandalization
- 4:37vandalizing whatever in the text message and
- 4:40the harassment Amy put her foot down and said
- 4:43no if you want to see the kids come to my house
- 4:45damn it you won't have my kids going through
- 4:48all that shitty chaos I don't know if Dave even
- 4:53told her the kids had to tell her like what a
- 4:58dumbass Anyway... This bitch is crazy. Anyway,
- 5:07Dave gets a call from Liz while he is at work.
- 5:10He comes home and he sees a window smashed out.
- 5:14With the message on the wall or something, go
- 5:17away whore. I have nothing else to say after
- 5:25that. Let's continue. so the message was written
- 5:33in red lipstick and on his bed he saw a lot of
- 5:37Liz's clothes had been slashed up and coming
- 5:42from his quote they've been slashed up in a murdering
- 5:45ring style like a lot of her clothes has been
- 5:49slashed he's showing pictures like hmm so he's
- 5:58protecting Liz The woman he met briefly Before
- 6:04he met Carrie but candy whatever her name But
- 6:08he he's protecting Liz While his kids are in
- 6:13like involved But he's so worried about protecting
- 6:18Liz that He's not even thinking about how is
- 6:26it affecting his kids Put Liz's ass out and allow
- 6:31your kids to come over. Like, come on. Liz was
- 7:00there when Carrie broke in. Would Liz have actually
- 7:03gotten stabbed? Now, Liz is looking out the window.
- 7:07This is a real threat. This isn't bullshit. With
- 7:10no curtains, and she's that damn scared of Carrie.
- 7:14Now Carrie is sending messages. She will die.
- 7:16No one can stop me. You can see Liz, big as day,
- 7:25looking out the windows. With no curtains. Alright
- 7:31people, are you putting this together? Are you
- 7:36putting this together? So the investigator, he
- 7:46had probable cause to arrest Carrie. He had a
- 7:53warrant, but he could not serve her because he
- 7:55couldn't find her. So, according to Dave, this
- 7:59has been going on for over a year. He's been
- 8:03going out to dinner with his kids and he would
- 8:06get random messages while he was out with his
- 8:09kids saying, I know where you are. I know what
- 8:16restaurant you're at. Is the food good? Not only
- 9:04is the stalker stalking Liz, but she's fucking
- 9:10with Dave and his kids. These people are very
- 9:20dangerous. They don't care who it affects. They
- 9:25would go after your whole family if need be.
- 9:32So Carrie sends a message to Dave. I can get
- 9:35in the door. I mean, I can get in the building.
- 9:39I put my ear up against the door and I hear what
- 9:43you're saying at all times. And the police...
- 9:47still can't find her even though she lives a
- 9:52couple blocks from day's work no trace nothing
- 9:59so if you send a message I am watching you and
- 10:06the way they are doing this in this show is so
- 10:09creepy they show a person in all black with a
- 10:14black hoodie on Standing in front of his peephole
- 10:17and then walking off So Dave is stressing out
- 10:22now He spends more and more time at the bar.
- 10:25He had a drink just to take the edge off But
- 10:29he is losing it, baby He is losing it Hmm But
- 10:38I tell you about those threesomes those secret
- 10:40threesomes he let somebody into his life, but
- 10:49not knowing if the other chick is crazy and if
- 10:52people are going to be harmed around this action.
- 11:18somebody pouring gasoline all over a house and
- 11:21lighting on fire with a match. So Carrie sent
- 11:45a message to Dave and said, I set that fucking
- 11:49whore's house on fire. I hope the whore and her
- 11:52kids die in it. Now how crazy is that? So Dave
- 12:03leaves the bar, rushes over to Liz's house, and
- 12:07is engulfed. Like... It's engulfed. Hopefully,
- 12:19there was no kids in that house. They pullin'
- 12:23out Dernie's, the ambulance. Now Liz is lookin'
- 12:30at her house on fire. Now Dave's comfortin' her.
- 12:41She put her head on his... on his chest okay
- 12:51all of Liz's pets died she had this adorable
- 12:55German Shepherd the kind of dog I have they're
- 12:58so loving she had a snake and I think two cats
- 13:02so whoever Liz's house was on fire house on fire
- 13:07is beyond crazy I hope y 'all paying close attention
- 13:17to this. The ending is gonna be shocking. These
- 13:37have lost everything she owns. Now she's homeless.
- 14:28Now Liz is talking to a defiant investigator,
- 14:31right? And he's asking what causes this and she's
- 14:34telling him that Carrie, the woman who's been
- 14:37dating for two weeks, has been threatening and
- 14:41talking to her, right? Now she says, what about
- 14:47my animals? I know they're all dead. Then the
- 14:54investigator says, The Humane Society is going
- 14:57to take care of the animals. Sorry. The Humane
- 15:09Society is going to take care of the animals.
- 15:14Sorry. I just wish we could go back. So after
- 16:24the fire Liz took what belongs she had and moved.
- 16:27She didn't tell Dave where she moved because
- 16:31obviously she didn't want Carrie to come after
- 16:34her. blame her one bit. She did not want Terry
- 16:55to come along after her. At that point, I felt
- 17:02alone. I didn't know whether to be mad or sad
- 17:07or cry. I had lost my partner or the one person
- 17:12who understood what I was going through. Yeah,
- 17:44he said she was still out there. Is she alive
- 17:47or dead? And Carrie is the one who's supposedly
- 17:51been stalking Liz, setting Liz's house on fire,
- 17:56threatening to kill Liz and her kids. But the
- 18:00police can't find her anywhere. So all of a sudden
- 18:03Liz packs up a move. Hmm, okay. agency. So two
- 18:26years earlier, I'd heard that there's another
- 18:29couple of detectives looking into somebody named
- 18:32Perry Farmer as a missing person. I'd heard that
- 18:35she was a single mom that kind of just vanished.
- 18:39Nobody had physically seen her, but she was still
- 18:41communicating, getting emails and text messages.
- 18:46At the same time, the detective from Omaha Police
- 18:48Department had been investigating arson and harassment.
- 18:52and vandalism, but after a long time the case
- 18:57had kind of gone cold for the investigators that
- 18:58were looking into it. This is Carrie's mother,
- 19:11Nancy. So after the case had gone cold, two detectives
- 19:33went to their boss and asked if they can take
- 19:35the case over because it intrigued them a bit
- 19:40much. The boss said, yeah. So they went and talked
- 19:45to Carrie Farber's mother, Nancy, and this is
- 19:49what you hear. Nancy Tell, the new detective.
- 20:17Grandma, there's probably some things she didn't
- 20:19tell me, but I had some things that I didn't
- 20:22tell my mother, but she'd always call home. I
- 20:29couldn't make sense of it, and that's when we
- 20:32reported her missing. I first got involved in
- 20:55the case. I got involved because it sounded interesting.
- 20:58Once I met Nancy, it turned for me. I wanted
- 21:03to get her answers. Because it sounded interesting.
- 21:12Once I met Nancy, it turned for me. I wanted
- 21:16to get her answers. Looking through the case
- 21:23file, The original reports noted that Carrie
- 21:28had a history of bipolar disorder. So get this.
- 22:11Dave met Carrie at his mechanic shop, right?
- 22:16They didn't hit it off then, but when he was
- 22:20online on his profile, he saw her picture. He
- 22:23sent her message and said hey, I know you she
- 22:26said yeah you do Then that's when they start
- 22:30going out She lived to help two blocks away from
- 22:35his work and she starts spending night at his
- 22:37house Not knowing she had this bipolar order.
- 22:41I mean bipolar Symptom And she wasn't taking
- 22:51her medication is an example of why you should
- 22:59look people up and or get to know them before
- 23:03you start sleeping with them, before you let
- 23:06them at your house, around your kids. Man, I
- 23:13believe most of us have done that and we're lucky
- 23:18to be still living and breathing but take the
- 23:24time to investigate and take your time inviting
- 23:33people over your house so after Dave moved to
- 23:38Nebraska Liz was on a picture so he says and
- 23:44he wanted to start dating again so he hops on
- 23:47Nebraska dead insights here we go again here
- 23:52we go again Dave Hold your horses and take some
- 23:58time out. So he moved away from his kids That's
- 24:04just that just dawned on me He moved away from
- 24:08his kids at first. He was trying to protect Liz
- 24:10a person he known for a hot minute from Carrie
- 24:16a person He'd been sleeping with for two weeks
- 24:20after he's known her for a hot minute And you
- 24:25move away from your kids after you put them in
- 24:27danger. Okay. Punk rocker chick The person who
- 25:05he messages punk rocker chick, I think she was
- 25:0829 So he set up a date He went to the restaurant
- 25:17waiting for her listening this get the message
- 25:35punk rocker chick says I'm coming I'm running
- 25:39a little late so he sat there longer than an
- 25:42hour more sit there sit there now it's raining
- 25:47and thundering you sit there and sit there is
- 25:52he desperate about the time He decides that she's
- 26:01not coming. Maybe two hours he's been sitting
- 26:05there. She sends another message and guess what
- 26:09the message said. This is Carrie. Mmm, baby.
- 26:19This is Carrie. Fuck you. That's what the message
- 26:23said. Told you. Now, Carrie is targeting Dave's
- 27:01ex, Amy, with the two kids that he moved away
- 27:05from. Now he's in Nebraska. I think she still
- 27:10lives in Iowa. Now Carrie is targeting her. Is
- 27:15it Carrie? Is it Liz? Is it Dave? Is it somebody
- 27:20else? Stay tuned to find out. So Common Sense
- 27:27will tell you that it may not be Carrie because
- 27:32the detectives can't find her. She lived two
- 27:36blocks away from Day's work. She hasn't gone
- 27:39to work. Her mother hasn't heard from her. Now
- 27:43the stalker says, I'm going to cut Amy's throat.
- 27:51Wait till I slit her throat. And Amy... is a
- 27:55mother of his two kids. If I can get rid of you,
- 28:30I would. So how the hell did she get Amy's number?
- 28:43Like... I know phone numbers are easy to get,
- 28:46but how she know Amy's name, Amy's full like...
- 28:52This bitch is crazy. Off she has time. For is
- 28:59a stock people But then the text messages started
- 29:11involving my children They're playing at the
- 29:24park Somebody's watching her and her kids play
- 29:28at the park and I bet you she's gonna start getting
- 29:32text messages But then the text messages started
- 29:46involving my children the park to play for a
- 30:02while. Yep, she got a text message that says
- 30:17Ryan's on the slide. And you're pushing Lexi
- 30:29on the swing. Naturally, she lives with her kids.
- 31:17I'm sleeping on the couch with a baseball bat.
- 31:21I woke him up to tell him to go into his own
- 31:22room. And when I asked him why he was sleeping
- 31:24on the couch, he said that he was going to protect
- 31:28us. Poor baby. It was heartbreaking. We're kind
- 31:37of sick monster. What would do that? Like, wow.
- 31:46So Dave finally went and bought a pistol. Because
- 31:49he needs to protect his kids. Okay, he bought
- 31:53a pistol. 9mm Smith & Wesson. He's dead. He's
- 31:59not a gunslinger so he won't have it hanging
- 32:01off his head. And he puts it in the case and
- 32:04puts it on top of the shelf in his room. So his
- 32:08kids can't reach it. He's kind of slow. After
- 32:16all this he decides just now to go get a gun
- 32:19and not have it on his body So it's been two
- 32:23years since they heard from since they anybody
- 32:26seen Carrie Carrie hasn't gone to work But remember
- 32:33Carrie lives two blocks from day's work days
- 32:36old work and Carrie is Stalking people Send in
- 32:45text messages to Dave Liz now Amy But she's using
- 32:55burner phones She has all these burner phones
- 33:01with all these different numbers So where's she
- 33:05getting the money from if she's not working She's
- 33:10not working nobody's seen her She hasn't used
- 33:15her credit card for gas or for anything else.
- 33:21She's obviously not staying at her apartment
- 33:24or house. How's she getting the money? And how's
- 33:30she avoiding all these people seeing her? for
- 33:49two years at this point. The emails and the messages
- 33:53and the social media alone were not proof that
- 33:56Carrie Barber was alive. In those messages, Carrie
- 34:01said she was quitting her job, moving to Kansas,
- 34:04and just needed some space. But when we looked
- 34:09at the original investigator's photographs of
- 34:11Carrie's home, we found that her closet was still
- 34:14full of clothes. All of her belongings are still
- 34:17in that house. It was just like she was coming
- 34:20back tomorrow. She was coming back this afternoon.
- 34:23Nothing was changed. The bed was made. The coat
- 34:28was still hanging on a chair. Nothing there suggested
- 34:32that she had packed up and moved to a different
- 34:34city. We got Carrie's bank records, and what
- 34:39we saw then was two transactions that had happened
- 34:42just a couple days after she went missing. And
- 34:45after that, there's nothing. It's hard to exist
- 34:49without money. So the last transaction was made
- 34:54in Omaha, Nebraska at a family dollar. I believe
- 34:59in 2012. So this ends the second session of this
- 35:11podcast. Stay tuned. for the third and final
- 35:22session. It will absolutely knock your socks
- 35:28off. Until then, remember to stay safe, stay
- 35:41vigilant and keep on investigating people.
