- 1:02Speaker 1: six quarterbacks. There weren't a lot to choose from, to
- 1:04Speaker 1: be completely honest with you, but we are gonna go
- 1:06Speaker 1: number six. Number six is Kyla Murray. That's right, Minnesota Vikings,
- 1:10Speaker 1: 2-0 as a starter, 4-0 total. Can you believe that
- 1:14Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings are 4-0? They had Carson Wentz for two games,
- 1:18Speaker 1: they had Kyla Murray for two games. We broke down
- 1:21Speaker 1: Kyler last week, and the video that we did on
- 1:24Speaker 1: him had over 100,000 views. Thank you guys so much.
- 1:25Speaker 1: If you're a Vikings fan, I appreciate it. We're not
- 1:27Speaker 1: going to break him down this week, even though I
- 1:28Speaker 1: thought his game was much better this week. Look, a
- 1:33Speaker 1: lot of field goals, no touchdowns. They beat Miami 15-10
- 1:36Speaker 1: at home. Sometimes you just got to win games like that.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I think Minnesota defensively is really good. But if you
- 1:43Speaker 1: watch the first half of this game, it was sort
- 1:45Speaker 1: of like last week's game. It was up and down.
- 1:49Speaker 1: There were some misses. There were some sort of you know,
- 1:51Speaker 1: miscommunication with receivers. But if you watch the second half
- 1:55Speaker 1: of this game, if the Vikings get Kyler Murray the
- 2:00Speaker 1: second half of this Miami game, they can be really dangerous.
- 2:04Speaker 1: They got all the offensive weapons they need. The defense
- 2:07Speaker 1: obviously is great, but he went 27 to 37, 247 yards, 73%
- 2:12Speaker 1: completion percentage, no touchdowns, no interceptions. I got that. Six carries,
- 2:16Speaker 1: 16 yards. Thought he could, um, Thought he could run
- 2:19Speaker 1: the football a little bit better. And here's what's interesting
- 2:21Speaker 1: about this whole thing is as a quarterback, you don't
- 2:24Speaker 1: have to make every single play. You just have to
- 2:28Speaker 1: sometimes have a zero play, which means, hey, it's not bad.
- 2:31Speaker 1: It's not good. It's in between. Don't have the negative plays.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I don't think Kyler Murray had many negative plays. They
- 2:35Speaker 1: won without an offensive touchdown, but he completed 73% of
- 2:38Speaker 1: his passes. They protected it. They weren't very good in
- 2:41Speaker 1: the red zone. They got to get better at it.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I just think Kyler Murray kept Minnesota on schedule, avoided
- 2:46Speaker 1: the turnover. That could have flipped a low-scoring game. In
- 2:48Speaker 1: a game like that, when you know it's a low-scoring game,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you just got to figure it out. Don't do too much.
- 2:54Speaker 1: TJ Hawkinson, to me, balled out. Miami's playing a bunch
- 2:57Speaker 1: of zone. Quarterback, sometimes when you're throwing, dude, it's a
- 3:01Speaker 1: tight end is your best friend. Like, find him. TJ
- 3:03Speaker 1: Hawkinson had 13 passes, 13 catches, excuse me, for 119 yards.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Kyler worked the middle of the field. That's what you
- 3:09Speaker 1: sort of get versus two-eye safety. Look, and man, if
- 3:12Speaker 1: you have a good matchup, if it's two-eye safeties, work
- 3:14Speaker 1: the middle. If it's an outside game, receiver game, Throw
- 3:17Speaker 1: it in the outside. Also, like, I just think in general,
- 3:24Speaker 1: the Vikings are 4-0. Like, let's celebrate it. The passing
- 3:26Speaker 1: game still has another level to get to, and that's
- 3:29Speaker 1: what I'm most excited about. Minnesota won without reaching the
- 3:34Speaker 1: end zone. Like, what are we doing? It's awesome. All right,
- 3:37Speaker 1: quarterback number five, Patrick Mahomes. Probably could have been a
- 3:40Speaker 1: little bit higher on this list if I just graded
- 3:43Speaker 1: his fourth quarter. Patrick Mahomes' fourth quarter completely took over
- 3:47Speaker 1: a lot of under center, a lot of play action.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And a lot of people are like, well, they barely
- 3:51Speaker 1: beat the Raiders. The Raiders are for real. You need
- 3:55Speaker 1: to stop sleeping on the Las Vegas Raiders. They beat
- 3:59Speaker 1: them 30 to 27 on the road in week four.
- 4:02Speaker 1: KC's 4-0. So you got Kyler Murray 4-0 with the Vikings. AFC,
- 4:07Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs 4-0. This is a different
- 4:11Speaker 1: Chiefs team. I think losing Taequann Thornton is a huge,
- 4:14Speaker 1: massive deal. He has been their deep threat all year long.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Dislocated his ankle. Will Tyree Kill? We're filming this on
- 4:23Speaker 1: a Monday. It comes out Tuesday. Will Tyree Kill go
- 4:25Speaker 1: to the Chiefs? I think it would be awesome if
- 4:27Speaker 1: he did. I think that would give him a different
- 4:30Speaker 1: level down the field. If you look at the stats, though,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you're like, oh, Mahomes, 15 to 30, 225 yards, 50%
- 4:34Speaker 1: completion percentage. Two major touchdowns, no interceptions, still 98 rating.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Don't like the completion percentage, but if you watch this game,
- 4:45Speaker 1: there were some drops, and he was trying to fit
- 4:47Speaker 1: the ball in tight windows. Mainly, I noticed that this
- 4:49Speaker 1: offensive line, which I think they benched their left guard
- 4:51Speaker 1: or right guard, it was not good at all. They
- 4:54Speaker 1: did not give him enough time, even the under center
- 4:57Speaker 1: play action. I mean, Kenneth Walker completely took over this game.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I just think Casey's founding ways to win close games.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Didn't turn the football over. The completion percentage was low.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Chiefs generated nothing. Explosive offense. Tyquan Thornton, two massive plays
- 5:16Speaker 1: down the field. Like I said, who's going to step
- 5:18Speaker 1: up for that? Rasheed Rice, hope he's all right. The
- 5:22Speaker 1: explosive throws. When you go into a game like this,
- 5:24Speaker 1: those explosive throws, they matter more than completion percentage. I
- 5:27Speaker 1: would like him to get his completion percentage up. We
- 5:29Speaker 1: get so caught up on completion percentage, but if things
- 5:32Speaker 1: are open down the field, Take it. It is totally
- 5:36Speaker 1: fine to do that. This isn't a dink and dunk game.
- 5:38Speaker 1: They were trying to go play action, under center, throw shots,
- 5:41Speaker 1: and still ultimately the Chiefs remain unbeaten. So Mahomes is
- 5:44Speaker 1: going to continue on this list. All right, let's go
- 5:46Speaker 1: to a guy who is making his debut on this list.
- 5:49Speaker 1: It's Bryce Young. We need to put some respect on
- 5:51Speaker 1: Bryce Young's name. Did you watch him in the Monday
- 5:54Speaker 1: night football game versus the Detroit Lions? Look, the Lions
- 5:56Speaker 1: offense isn't good. Bryce Young, first of all, he's doing
- 6:00Speaker 1: this with a really bad offensive line. I'm just going
- 6:02Speaker 1: to be completely honest with you. Tech McMillan balled out
- 6:05Speaker 1: a ton of catches, 14 for 192. T-Mac, it's great,
- 6:10Speaker 1: but the fact of the matter is when you watch
- 6:13Speaker 1: Bryce Young play football, it's gotten considerably better year in
- 6:19Speaker 1: and year out. Canales is doing a heck of a
- 6:21Speaker 1: job calling plays. They beat Detroit 32-26 at home. Carolina,
- 6:26Speaker 1: big time to get the 2-2, much better than 1-3.
- 6:28Speaker 1: He was 29-41, almost 30 yards. 70% completion percentage, two touchdowns,
- 6:35Speaker 1: no interceptions. The throw to TMAC on that third down
- 6:40Speaker 1: to ice the game, I don't think you understand how
- 6:43Speaker 1: difficult that throw is. It is unbelievable. And the fact is,
- 6:48Speaker 1: they found something with him. My question is, like, what's
- 6:51Speaker 1: going to happen when they take away TMAC? When they
- 6:55Speaker 1: take away TMAC, how are you going to handle this?
- 6:56Speaker 1: How are you going to continue to evolve? But, dude,
- 6:58Speaker 1: we got to figure out, like, He played really efficient,
- 7:01Speaker 1: Bryce Young. Like, it's missed multiple receivers. The defense knows
- 7:05Speaker 1: T-Mac is a primary target. He still completed 70% of
- 7:08Speaker 1: his passes. Like, you watch his growth in the pocket,
- 7:11Speaker 1: his pocket movement, him understanding where rushes are coming from
- 7:16Speaker 1: and where they're not coming from. And then also being
- 7:19Speaker 1: able to escape the pocket. And that is next level.
- 7:23Speaker 1: But the biggest thing with Bryce Young, before we move on,
- 7:27Speaker 1: the confidence level is there. Like when you're continually doing
- 7:33Speaker 1: these type of things and your confidence level can get
- 7:35Speaker 1: to a point where you're just feeling yourself, you're almost cocky.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Like he just looks like that. They need to fix
- 7:41Speaker 1: the offensive line. They need to get another receiver to
- 7:43Speaker 1: step up. But man, it's a storyline that a lot
- 7:46Speaker 1: of people are not talking about. All right, let's get
- 7:49Speaker 1: into my number three quarterback, Brock Purdy. Could have been
- 7:51Speaker 1: number one, could have been number two. I decided to
- 7:53Speaker 1: put Brock Purdy at number three. How about this? You
- 7:55Speaker 1: have a bad game. Not really. You have a game
- 7:59Speaker 1: where it's not your best of the year and you
- 8:03Speaker 1: still have 107 rating. Like there were some misses for sure,
- 8:07Speaker 1: but when you beat Denver 24 to 14 at home
- 8:10Speaker 1: in week four, San Francisco also is 4-0. You see
- 8:13Speaker 1: these winners right here, Kyler, Patrick, Mahomes, Brock Purdy, all
- 8:17Speaker 1: their teams are 4-0. Passing 19 of 30, 218 yards, 63%,
- 8:23Speaker 1: two touchdowns. One was on the screen to George Kittle.
- 8:26Speaker 1: First of all, how fast did George Kittle look on that? Like,
- 8:28Speaker 1: the dude completely took off. They're sort of turning back
- 8:31Speaker 1: father time. No sacks, no fumbles, though. That's the biggest thing.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You're staying ahead of the sticks. This is a really
- 8:38Speaker 1: good defense, too. This Vance Joseph defense is coming after you.
- 8:41Speaker 1: They put him in a position where they couldn't score
- 8:44Speaker 1: a bunch of points. I mean, it was 17-14 for
- 8:46Speaker 1: a while to that George Kittle thing. I thought that
- 8:51Speaker 1: he played really well. How much of pretty success do
- 8:53Speaker 1: you think right now comes knowing exactly where the answers
- 8:56Speaker 1: are before the pressure gets on them? Let me tell you,
- 8:58Speaker 1: all of them. Because when you have a pressure like
- 9:01Speaker 1: that and you have a team facing like that, you're
- 9:03Speaker 1: probably not going to get these big shots down the field.
- 9:05Speaker 1: They keep everything in front of them, but you have
- 9:06Speaker 1: to move in the pocket. I thought his command of
- 9:10Speaker 1: the offense was great. Mike Evans, once again, making plays.
- 9:15Speaker 1: The fact of the matter is the game was tight early.
- 9:18Speaker 1: San Francisco created plays after halftime. I thought the halftime
- 9:24Speaker 1: adjustment by Kyle Shanahan was really good. You needed to
- 9:29Speaker 1: pull away in the second half versus a good team.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I mean, you feel like in a game like this,
- 9:34Speaker 1: when you're playing an offense like the Broncos, you need
- 9:37Speaker 1: to score 20 to 24, just the way the defense
- 9:40Speaker 1: is playing, right? Dre Greenlaw, Fred Warner, their beast. It
- 9:45Speaker 1: was awesome. Ultimately, the MVP of the National Football League
- 9:49Speaker 1: right now through four weeks, it's Brock Purdy. You just
- 9:52Speaker 1: look at them. We stack them up. Stack, stack, stack, stack,
- 9:55Speaker 1: stack from the Rams game to this Denver game. It's efficient.
- 10:00Speaker 1: He's ball security. He's got explosive production. He has play
- 10:05Speaker 1: action production. He's using his legs like all these things.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Brock Purdy to me, top quarterback in the league for
- 10:11Speaker 1: sure right now. All right, let's go to number two.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Drake May, New England Patriots. They beat previously unbeaten Buffalo
- 10:20Speaker 1: 29-26 on the road. New England moves to 2-2. But
- 10:24Speaker 1: for all the talk about how bad the footwork of
- 10:29Speaker 1: Drake May is or how bad this is or how
- 10:31Speaker 1: bad that, like he shut everyone up. Mike Braybill shut
- 10:34Speaker 1: everyone up just for a week. The Bills are really good.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I mean, this is their first loss. They're really good defensively.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And you're going up against Josh Allen. I know it's
- 10:40Speaker 1: an interdivision rival. But every time these guys play, it
- 10:46Speaker 1: seems like it's a one score game. I just like
- 10:50Speaker 1: the fact that, well, I don't like the fact, but
- 10:53Speaker 1: I do like the fact that he's eight carries 54 yards.
- 10:55Speaker 1: He's one of the leading rushers of the game. Like
- 10:58Speaker 1: he had 323 combined yards, only one sack. He had
- 11:01Speaker 1: one interception, but he continually stayed away from the bad play.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And when you make a play like outside the pocket,
- 11:09Speaker 1: like he made to Efton Chisholm on that like third
- 11:12Speaker 1: and five with a minute 50 remaining, You scream out
- 11:15Speaker 1: and you, and he has, you have a white boy receiver.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I mean, they have all those in New England. It's unbelievable,
- 11:20Speaker 1: but you have a white boy receiver, one handed catch. Dude,
- 11:22Speaker 1: it's unbelievable. All the discourse around him, every single person
- 11:26Speaker 1: in the national media will let's break down his mechanics.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Let's do this. Let's do that. Drake may say to
- 11:31Speaker 1: hold up like this. Let me just figure it out. Um,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I think the biggest thing he did though, his legs
- 11:38Speaker 1: changed the math for Buffalo and I really do believe
- 11:41Speaker 1: when you have a quarterback that can run and put
- 11:44Speaker 1: pressure on defense, stuff opens up. You were able to
- 11:46Speaker 1: see that. His production went to another level when he
- 11:49Speaker 1: was using his legs. He's much more athletic than a
- 11:50Speaker 1: lot of people think. I was saying that even when
- 11:53Speaker 1: he came out of North Carolina, and like I mentioned,
- 11:55Speaker 1: the late touchdown was a defining moment. You could have
- 11:58Speaker 1: this entire really good game, but unless you can actually
- 12:01Speaker 1: follow through and you can actually do it, man, I'm
- 12:04Speaker 1: just so proud of Drake May. I think the receiving core,
- 12:07Speaker 1: a little bit banged up. Need A.J. Brown. Mike Hollins
- 12:11Speaker 1: even went down like all these guys. You got to
- 12:13Speaker 1: get some more guys. I thought this was the deepest
- 12:15Speaker 1: receiver core coming into the year. Hurts not having AJ Brown.
- 12:19Speaker 1: All right, let's get to the number one quarterback. You
- 12:24Speaker 1: guessed it, Dak Prescott. Dak Prescott playing the position just
- 12:29Speaker 1: as good or better than anyone in the league. Like
- 12:31Speaker 1: I know Brock Purdy's playing well. You got Josh Allen
- 12:33Speaker 1: playing well. CJ Stroud even is playing really well. All
- 12:35Speaker 1: these guys are playing well. But if you watch Like
- 12:38Speaker 1: no team needed their quarterback more this week than the
- 12:40Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. Huge win against the 0-4 Texans in-state rivalry.
- 12:47Speaker 1: But Dallas improved to 2-2. Could you imagine if they
- 12:49Speaker 1: were 1-3? Everything, what's going on? Look, their defense is
- 12:51Speaker 1: not great. But this is not about the defense. This
- 12:54Speaker 1: is about Dak Prescott. They beat Houston 34-30. They trailed
- 12:57Speaker 1: by 10 at halftime. Dak Prescott's numbers, when you throw
- 13:01Speaker 1: it 45 times, you know it's going to be a
- 13:04Speaker 1: long day. Usually you're not winning. But he was 32-45.
- 13:06Speaker 1: 335 yards. More importantly, when you're throwing that many times
- 13:12Speaker 1: to have a 71% completion percentage, you throw that one
- 13:15Speaker 1: game-winning touchdown, 100 rating. And how about CeeDee Lamb? Like
- 13:20Speaker 1: that game-winning touchdown. What in the world are Houston Texans
- 13:23Speaker 1: doing with outside leverage? You get like a double post
- 13:25Speaker 1: or a through route and you lean on his shoulders
- 13:28Speaker 1: and then take it there. CeeDee Lamb, I mean, that
- 13:30Speaker 1: ball was right in his chest. 21 targets for CeeDee Lamb.
- 13:35Speaker 1: 21 targets, 17 catches, 189 yards. When your number one
- 13:40Speaker 1: receiver is winning like that, it is just let's feed
- 13:43Speaker 1: the beast. George Pickens had a good catch down the field,
- 13:45Speaker 1: but like continually just feed CeeDee Lamb. I think Dak
- 13:49Speaker 1: and CeeDee both said, hey, and I hit on it
- 13:51Speaker 1: last night on the first read. You need to go
- 13:52Speaker 1: check that out. I did a whole game breakdown of
- 13:55Speaker 1: the Texans on my channel, but it's just, it's unbelievable
- 14:01Speaker 1: to see CeeDee Lamb just completely take over. And then
- 14:04Speaker 1: also Dak Prescott, like You drove 74 yards for the
- 14:07Speaker 1: winning score, CD catching the game winner with 40 seconds left.
- 14:10Speaker 1: The versatility he showed to be able to do all
- 14:15Speaker 1: these different things, Dak Prescott, up at the line of scrimmage,
- 14:19Speaker 1: handling two-minute drill, figuring out where pressure's coming from, handling protections,
- 14:23Speaker 1: understanding the time on the clock, all these things, man,
- 14:26Speaker 1: that matters. And that's why Dak Prescott's number one, because
- 14:30Speaker 1: he is just on another level. I hope you liked
- 14:34Speaker 1: my list. My list is not cumulative. It is all-encompassing
- 14:40Speaker 1: just for that week. So it's not cumulative just to
- 14:44Speaker 1: the week. We are going to get into the quarterback
- 14:47Speaker 1: breakdowns next. All right, I hope you enjoyed the top
- 14:50Speaker 1: six quarterbacks. It was awesome. This is the quarterback breakdown
- 14:53Speaker 1: section of the show, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. We're
- 14:57Speaker 1: going to get into Dak Prescott first, Brock Purdy second,
- 15:00Speaker 1: and then Patrick Mahomes. And when you look at Dak,
- 15:03Speaker 1: like I was saying, Dak played some of the best
- 15:05Speaker 1: ball he's played. I can say one thing about the
- 15:08Speaker 1: top six quarterbacks and I can tell you everything they did.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Why don't we show you just how impressive Dak Prescott is?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Let's get into it right now. All right, let's get
- 15:17Speaker 1: into Dak Prescott. Dak, man, played a heck of a game.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It looked really bleak for the Cowboys in the first
- 15:25Speaker 1: half because they were not playing very well until... Our
- 15:29Speaker 1: guy CD Lamb got involved, man. 21 targets, 17 catches.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I just, I love, I love watching CD play. All right,
- 15:37Speaker 1: so here's what we got. I love Dak, watching Dak play.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You got a one by three formation. You're gonna end
- 15:43Speaker 1: up moving this running back all the way over there.
- 15:48Speaker 1: By the way, Javante Williams, three freaking touchdowns. What you're
- 15:51Speaker 1: gonna do, all right, you're gonna bring short and then
- 15:53Speaker 1: you're gonna have a post over top and maybe a
- 15:56Speaker 1: dagger right here. So it's man to man. That's the thing.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So everyone's got a man across the board. Dak has
- 16:03Speaker 1: to understand, hey, where do we want to go versus this?
- 16:06Speaker 1: They're doubling pretty much CD. And the fact of the
- 16:12Speaker 1: matter is, even when they double them, you're able to
- 16:15Speaker 1: get home. So both these guys doubling CD right there.
- 16:18Speaker 1: CD's going across. I would have loved for Dak, and
- 16:21Speaker 1: I like the two chips right here. Watch this on
- 16:24Speaker 1: Jalen Petrie. I think that's Jalen Petrie on the defensive
- 16:26Speaker 1: side of things. Like if he hits this right here,
- 16:29Speaker 1: I think that's the next step in Dak's progression and growth, right?
- 16:33Speaker 1: Here's number one. There's two. There's three. I mean, all
- 16:37Speaker 1: three of these guys are open, but he's still under
- 16:39Speaker 1: the double cover guy because C.D. is his guy. Got
- 16:43Speaker 1: to love it. Let's play three of the game. Play one.
- 16:45Speaker 1: They try to take a shot down the field, but
- 16:46Speaker 1: I love the fact that Ferguson and Williams are chipping
- 16:50Speaker 1: to the flat, and then you're going to bring C.D.
- 16:52Speaker 1: all the way over there. 18 to 22 yards. You
- 16:55Speaker 1: have an inside post, which I thought he should have throw.
- 16:58Speaker 1: And then you have a dagger on the outside. So
- 17:00Speaker 1: it's one, two, right there. And then three to the dagger.
- 17:05Speaker 1: But overall, man, Dak played really well. And we'll show
- 17:10Speaker 1: the two-minute drive and everything in between. But like this
- 17:13Speaker 1: throw too, you got to be like right on. He's
- 17:16Speaker 1: going like 10 to 12 yards. You got to be
- 17:18Speaker 1: right on before this guy gets there. So you got
- 17:19Speaker 1: to put it on him and you have to get
- 17:22Speaker 1: him down. Awesome throw to start the game. Truly. Oh,
- 17:25Speaker 1: spin that thing. He's in his bag. Look at that.
- 17:28Speaker 1: That's sweet. Let's see it from this view. His footwork's
- 17:32Speaker 1: really good. I mean, they got some guys over there
- 17:36Speaker 1: defensively for Houston, but their defense has struggled, man. Big time.
- 17:40Speaker 1: All right, so he's pointing there. Hey, Mike it there.
- 17:43Speaker 1: That means they're going three for three. Over there. I
- 17:47Speaker 1: like that you're making the best pass rusher get all
- 17:49Speaker 1: the way out. Okay, don't let him take over the game. Quick,
- 17:54Speaker 1: he gets his front foot down. Sweet, man. Really good. Really,
- 17:59Speaker 1: really good. Awesome throw. All right, third and seven right here.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Three by one formation. All right, always got to look
- 18:07Speaker 1: in this offense. Where is CeeDee Lamb? Right, inside leverage,
- 18:10Speaker 1: which means that, hey, it's too high. So I know
- 18:13Speaker 1: that I have zone. That's where I want to attack.
- 18:14Speaker 1: That's where I want to attack. That's where I want
- 18:16Speaker 1: to attack or underneath. If we want to go deep
- 18:19Speaker 1: down the sideline between the numbers. Or in between the
- 18:22Speaker 1: numbers and the hash. That's where you want to go.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Let's watch this play. See what happens. Watch his CD.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And this is the one. So this is play 36.
- 18:33Speaker 1: This is the one where he wants back. A couple
- 18:37Speaker 1: things happen here. Number one, they get a really good
- 18:39Speaker 1: pass rush. Number two, it's a pretty simple route. All
- 18:44Speaker 1: you're going to do. And the Cowboys run the heck
- 18:47Speaker 1: out of this. You have a shallow cross. Four to six.
- 18:50Speaker 1: You can sit versus zone. You have a wide route.
- 18:54Speaker 1: You have a go by Pickens and a go outside.
- 18:57Speaker 1: CD is the option guy. You can cross face or
- 19:01Speaker 1: come out. This is number one. You might want to
- 19:03Speaker 1: peak this versus pressure, and that would be three. So
- 19:06Speaker 1: you want to start with CD lamb. This is a miss,
- 19:09Speaker 1: in my opinion, by Dak. Look, Dak thinks it's going
- 19:13Speaker 1: to be too high, so maybe cross face. But in reality,
- 19:16Speaker 1: if you're this option route runner, and I think it's
- 19:18Speaker 1: an option route, you've got to run to green grass.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Watch this corner get out of here. Out. He's already
- 19:25Speaker 1: off him. I'm not quite sure. That's the play. They
- 19:30Speaker 1: kept hitting him in the slot right there. Let's watch
- 19:33Speaker 1: his eyes. He gets off him early. Everyone makes mistakes, right?
- 19:39Speaker 1: Just going through the game. You'll watch the film. One
- 19:42Speaker 1: of the few missed reads or missed throws in a sack. Also,
- 19:45Speaker 1: it's before half. He can't take a sack. Like if
- 19:48Speaker 1: you do this, you get points at least, even if
- 19:50Speaker 1: he doesn't get the first down, you see it's third
- 19:51Speaker 1: down right there. Can't take a sack like that. So yeah,
- 19:57Speaker 1: it happens. I mean, these guys are ferocious. I just
- 20:00Speaker 1: think he gets off this way too early. Let's see it.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Even before he gets to his third step, I just
- 20:06Speaker 1: feel like you need to stay with that a little
- 20:08Speaker 1: bit longer. I know you can't be late there, so
- 20:10Speaker 1: that's number two. They are reading it outside in. One, two, three.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Everyone's covered. Nowhere to go with the football. That's why
- 20:16Speaker 1: the first read CD has to go. Would have had
- 20:19Speaker 1: 22 targets and 18 catches. Left guard getting pushed back
- 20:24Speaker 1: a little bit. Will Anderson's a freaking beast, dude. It's impressive. Truly. Truly.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Let's watch it from this view. Just watch his eyes.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I would love to see him hit that back step. Boom.
- 20:38Speaker 1: He's already getting off, though. He's already, see, and he's good.
- 20:42Speaker 1: That happens. I think Dak maybe thought cross face, but
- 20:46Speaker 1: with outside leverage, he know he should break out. Doesn't
- 20:49Speaker 1: do it. Maybe he wasn't supposed to break out. I
- 20:51Speaker 1: don't know. All right, here we go. Three by one
- 20:54Speaker 1: under center. Love this. Love this trip sponge formation. Tight
- 20:57Speaker 1: split on the numbers. It just tells you what they're
- 21:00Speaker 1: doing defensively rather than spreading it out when they can disguise.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Look at this pocket movement by Dak. Wide open. That's
- 21:08Speaker 1: so good. It seems like such an easy play, but
- 21:11Speaker 1: there's so much that goes into this play, especially with
- 21:15Speaker 1: the motion right there. The motion needs to get going,
- 21:17Speaker 1: first of all. Tripp's bunch. This motion gets through. He's
- 21:20Speaker 1: the check down. He's the post. George Pickens makes this play.
- 21:24Speaker 1: George Pickens has to use speed to not only get
- 21:26Speaker 1: this guy, but this guy as well. So it's a
- 21:29Speaker 1: post clear out, and then it's just a deep cross.
- 21:32Speaker 1: There's nothing special about it. 18 to 22 yards, 18
- 21:36Speaker 1: versus zone. Sorry, 18 versus man. You want to cut
- 21:39Speaker 1: it down 22 versus zone. But I want you to watch.
- 21:43Speaker 1: These dudes are like cheetahs, man. They get off the football.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Got to go. Got to get through it. But like
- 21:51Speaker 1: the play action, because you're play actioning to the jet sweep.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And you have the back going this way because he
- 21:56Speaker 1: has pressure, nickel pressure. Nice job. Nice pickup. This is
- 22:00Speaker 1: the only thing that can happen, right? And mess up it.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But great job seeing that. I mean, all this stuff matters.
- 22:08Speaker 1: All this stuff works in concert with one another. And
- 22:10Speaker 1: then you step up, right? And then you step up
- 22:13Speaker 1: to the pocket. Run those guys all by. There's three
- 22:15Speaker 1: Texans right there. Look at this pocket. That's where you
- 22:17Speaker 1: want to be. And when you are, he's just reading
- 22:20Speaker 1: the safety. And when this safety goes back with Pickens,
- 22:24Speaker 1: there ain't no one there because look at the underneath coverage.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Three deep, three under. It's the best defense to throw against,
- 22:31Speaker 1: in my opinion, because there's a lot of holes. You
- 22:33Speaker 1: can't man up, right? So you're just literally, once you
- 22:36Speaker 1: fake there, Dak's eyes go straight there. Yep, QB vision
- 22:40Speaker 1: cone straight at this dude right here. Steps up. Look
- 22:45Speaker 1: at him step up with the football, with the carry.
- 22:49Speaker 1: As you're stepping up, wide open. Taking candy from a baby. CD,
- 22:55Speaker 1: get in. I just want to watch the eyes on
- 22:58Speaker 1: this view. All right, play action. See his eyes snap
- 23:02Speaker 1: around quarterbacks. He's not even on step five of his
- 23:05Speaker 1: seven-step drop. Eyes are on the safety. Let him be
- 23:11Speaker 1: handled by this guy. He's a jet sweep. He has
- 23:14Speaker 1: to be here because Petrie's blitzing, and then you have
- 23:17Speaker 1: one guy underneath. Good luck. Perfect play call at a
- 23:19Speaker 1: perfect time. Stepping up in the pocket helps tremendously. Firing
- 23:25Speaker 1: that pigskin. Let's go. It's just a Dak and CD show, honestly.
- 23:29Speaker 1: CD Lamb in motion again. A little fake to him.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Look familiar. This time it's over this side. Oh my gosh,
- 23:36Speaker 1: this is sick. George Pickens, get up. Get you some, man.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Fighting it off. People want to be like, oh, he
- 23:43Speaker 1: doesn't do this. He doesn't do that. George Pickens is
- 23:45Speaker 1: an absolute beast. Let's break this play down. So remember,
- 23:48Speaker 1: We have the trips bunch formation. So now there's only
- 23:50Speaker 1: two by two. So now you're having CD. So all
- 23:52Speaker 1: these eyes are over here. So what you're doing also
- 23:55Speaker 1: is you're just giving Dak a half field read. You're
- 23:57Speaker 1: reading this half of the field. All right. And then
- 24:00Speaker 1: what you're doing is you're going to sloppy corner. They
- 24:02Speaker 1: literally call it that in a post. And then he's
- 24:05Speaker 1: your check down. He's over the ball. So you're literally
- 24:08Speaker 1: reading post is the alert. This is one. This is two.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And you want to read this safety right here for
- 24:16Speaker 1: the read. So watch Dak go through this. Take that.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Eyes around. See the eyes snap? Right here. I think
- 24:25Speaker 1: that's Ferguson. You can beat this linebacker one-on-one, but you've
- 24:29Speaker 1: got to throw the post off this guy and make
- 24:32Speaker 1: sure this guy, by the way, doesn't drop kick down.
- 24:34Speaker 1: A lot of stuff going on. It also helps when
- 24:37Speaker 1: you don't have anyone within seven yards of you. I
- 24:41Speaker 1: think that helps. As soon as Dak sees this safety go,
- 24:45Speaker 1: he just has to throw this skinny. It's one-on-one. It's
- 24:48Speaker 1: like one-on-none. He launches this from the 30, 10, 20, 30, 40,
- 24:50Speaker 1: I mean 55 yards in the air. Huge. This play
- 24:58Speaker 1: is designed for Ferguson to come in, go out. It's
- 25:01Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey special. But I want you to watch Dak
- 25:03Speaker 1: looking right at this safety. It's a good route by Ferguson, right? Boom, boom.
- 25:09Speaker 1: That is double team, double team, single, double team. Dallas
- 25:15Speaker 1: Cowboys offensive line. That is how you do it. Right?
- 25:20Speaker 1: He's about to throw this, but he sees these legs
- 25:22Speaker 1: right here going down. Launchola. Let's go. He throws this thing. 10, 23, 56.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Heck of a catch. See from this view. Yeah, we're
- 25:32Speaker 1: getting all three views this time. Let's go. Good fake.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Good step up. Slow motion. Watch this concentration, too, by
- 25:42Speaker 1: our guy. You can't throw it any better. You see
- 25:47Speaker 1: how he also threw it? Just a small note. A
- 25:50Speaker 1: lot of guys want to throw it over here. If
- 25:51Speaker 1: he throws it over here, it's getting picked off. You've
- 25:53Speaker 1: got to keep it skinny. They talk about throwing it
- 25:55Speaker 1: at this upright even better, even skinnier. Alright, fourth and three.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Big play in the game. Going for it. Play 48
- 26:05Speaker 1: of the game. Nothing's open. Got to get all the
- 26:10Speaker 1: way here. Ends up Think they have a massive stop.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Not so fast. Look at this penalty right here. All right.
- 26:19Speaker 1: We'll go through the reading progression. That's a little ticky tacky.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I think, I don't know. I don't know. You guys
- 26:24Speaker 1: tell me, uh, but let's talk about the play. So
- 26:27Speaker 1: you're going to end up boom, boom. That's going to
- 26:29Speaker 1: be number one, Ferguson. You're going to come in, go
- 26:32Speaker 1: to the corner. You have a stop here. I think, uh,
- 26:35Speaker 1: Pickens has a chance to go in line or reverse it.
- 26:38Speaker 1: It's called a whirl route. You can whirl out of
- 26:41Speaker 1: that thing. Um, And when that happens, boom. You have it.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Got to get to this guy right here. Boom. Quicker.
- 26:52Speaker 1: But it's just hard. He gets to him. Not there.
- 26:55Speaker 1: They get sort of a lucky thing right here. Lucky penalty.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Right there. All right. He's there. Watch him go through
- 27:02Speaker 1: the read. Progression. He's looking right here to make sure.
- 27:06Speaker 1: And TD wins so bad on the inside, he can't
- 27:09Speaker 1: get back outside. Getting hit. Not great by the left tackle.
- 27:15Speaker 1: You have one, two, three guys going through. Watch the
- 27:18Speaker 1: left tackle right here. Oh, man, you can't do that.
- 27:23Speaker 1: That's so hard and so difficult. That gets pummeled not
- 27:27Speaker 1: so fast. All right, third and one right here. Big
- 27:29Speaker 1: play in the game. All right, second half. Everything's going. Oh,
- 27:35Speaker 1: there we go. They're throwing the football down the field
- 27:40Speaker 1: on third and one. How about that? Play action pass.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Watch this suck up. You get all eight guys. I mean,
- 27:46Speaker 1: this is one-on-one. It's a post and it's a deep cross,
- 27:49Speaker 1: 18 to 22 yards. That's exactly what we're doing. But
- 27:52Speaker 1: how about the aggressive play call? Like look where the
- 27:54Speaker 1: backers are right here. You go up and I don't
- 27:57Speaker 1: care if it's against him or nothing. Get up there. Boom.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Look how much he comes downhill on this too. Like
- 28:09Speaker 1: the route and the throw. Because this thing, they're just
- 28:12Speaker 1: double teaming him at this point. I think he's got
- 28:14Speaker 1: like 15 or 16 targets at this point. Forget about
- 28:17Speaker 1: this guy picking over here. Let's just go CD. This
- 28:20Speaker 1: is a big throw in the game. And the fact
- 28:22Speaker 1: that he steps up and does it too, really aggressive.
- 28:25Speaker 1: He's killing it, thinking they're going to get there. You
- 28:27Speaker 1: just need to get this safety out of the way.
- 28:30Speaker 1: CD's over there. I mean, this is crazy to me.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Look at him stepping up like that and then throwing
- 28:36Speaker 1: the ball. It's a perfectly thrown football on the most
- 28:40Speaker 1: money down. It's awesome. Really cool. So good. See from
- 28:49Speaker 1: this view. I like the step up. I like everything
- 28:51Speaker 1: about this. Feels really nice. Feels good. Right. Step it up. Boom.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Big time throw. All right. Third and seven. A lot
- 29:00Speaker 1: of guys up. Right. Look at Dak at the line
- 29:03Speaker 1: of scrimmage trying to figure out who they're going to.
- 29:05Speaker 1: What's the plan? Who's everything? They got a fixed protection.
- 29:08Speaker 1: They're bringing it all. They were showing over here. Now
- 29:11Speaker 1: they're bringing here. Got to be hot. Got to have
- 29:14Speaker 1: a plan for action. They do. Huge third down conversion.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Huge third down conversion. This just talks about everything about Dak.
- 29:23Speaker 1: First of all, so here it is right here. You
- 29:26Speaker 1: move the back up, got a pressure. You got double A.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Then you move the tight end over here, trying to
- 29:30Speaker 1: get a tell. The whole time, they ended up bringing
- 29:34Speaker 1: over here. Then he moves everything over there. He ends
- 29:38Speaker 1: up saying, hey, you're hot. you're hot like all this
- 29:43Speaker 1: makes so much sense and they still have two dudes
- 29:48Speaker 1: coming off the edge and that's just high level quarterbacking
- 29:51Speaker 1: play like they're trying to go to three deep two
- 29:55Speaker 1: under someone's messed up Someone should be coming over here.
- 29:59Speaker 1: He's not making pay like this. These are the type
- 30:02Speaker 1: of things that make Dak Prescott this week, my number
- 30:05Speaker 1: one quarterback on the top six. They just constant like
- 30:08Speaker 1: the here's down, down, down, down linebacker, linebacker, safety, white
- 30:15Speaker 1: safety alert. He ends up moving it, checking it, and
- 30:18Speaker 1: they end up bringing nickel on this side. It's just hard, man,
- 30:22Speaker 1: as a quarterback. You're trying to figure out which way
- 30:24Speaker 1: we go, which way we not. They're checking. Now we're
- 30:27Speaker 1: switching because they got it. He thought it was coming
- 30:29Speaker 1: this way. They end up checking. Not so fast. You
- 30:31Speaker 1: don't have time to recheck again. Just beat it with
- 30:35Speaker 1: a throw. Be a jump throw. And then throw it
- 30:37Speaker 1: in a place where you can run. Texans, man. Not good.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Another third down. Third down and eight. Here's to the
- 30:45Speaker 1: line to gain. All right, you're playing this two-eye safety look.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Are you going to stay in it? They pressured last time,
- 30:50Speaker 1: didn't work. This time, you're not. Oh, they had it too.
- 30:55Speaker 1: This is a massive play in the game. It ends
- 30:57Speaker 1: up being called incomplete, I think. It's a massive play
- 30:59Speaker 1: in the game, though. I want you to watch what
- 31:03Speaker 1: they're doing. They're just running go balls. So inside release, go.
- 31:06Speaker 1: You're double teamed because you're not getting out. This is X'd.
- 31:10Speaker 1: You have a middle read where you can take the safety.
- 31:13Speaker 1: You can take the post if the safety's outside. If
- 31:16Speaker 1: the safety's inside, cross face. But here's the one. It's
- 31:20Speaker 1: the double move go. He's playing all the way inside.
- 31:23Speaker 1: They've been setting this up all game. If they can
- 31:25Speaker 1: get this thrown a little bit earlier, this is a massive,
- 31:30Speaker 1: massive play. Look at that. He's wide open. Got to protect, though.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Got to protect. Well, Anderson's a beast, man. Like, look
- 31:43Speaker 1: at this. You're trying to chip right there. You got
- 31:45Speaker 1: to get a better chip. You've got to get a
- 31:47Speaker 1: better chip on him. That's the biggest thing. Your route
- 31:49Speaker 1: does not matter in this. That's not good enough. Stop
- 31:53Speaker 1: his rush. He's getting chipped, and now you leave one-on-one.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Look at all four offense of Lyman plus him. Why
- 31:58Speaker 1: are we leaving one-on-one over there after the chip? You've
- 32:00Speaker 1: got to do a better job on the chip. If
- 32:02Speaker 1: he gets this, though, oh, man, it hits right up
- 32:04Speaker 1: in this, and then you catch it. Crazy. But just
- 32:07Speaker 1: a wild play because this was wide open. All right,
- 32:10Speaker 1: a couple more right here. Second and 10, two-minute drill.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Let's go win the game. Guess what? We're CD. Watch
- 32:16Speaker 1: this throw. My favorite throw of the game other than
- 32:18Speaker 1: the touchdown by Dak. Over top, the nickel. What? And
- 32:27Speaker 1: they're just running deep out routes, right? They're running deep cuts.
- 32:31Speaker 1: It's called circus routes. Chip flat, middle read. We just
- 32:35Speaker 1: talked about it. Cross face, or you can run a
- 32:38Speaker 1: basic cross at Burzone. And he's just like, I need
- 32:41Speaker 1: to play. I'm an empty. I feel good about these chips.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Let's just throw it here. You got to get out
- 32:47Speaker 1: under in the flat. Let's watch what happens. He gets out.
- 32:52Speaker 1: He doesn't affect the here though, but timing and rhythm.
- 32:55Speaker 1: The nickel's already going. Look at this throw. It's already
- 32:59Speaker 1: being thrown. He's not even outside of the break yet. Boom. Man,
- 33:06Speaker 1: come on, Dak. Let's go. That's a dime. This view's
- 33:11Speaker 1: even better. I mean, just how he gets this ball
- 33:14Speaker 1: up and down over five. One, two, three, four, five.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Hitch ball. I think he tipped it. I think he
- 33:22Speaker 1: did tip it. Here's what's cool about this drop by Dak.
- 33:25Speaker 1: He knows exactly where he's going. He's trying to look
- 33:28Speaker 1: down the field just to hold this guy. Forget about
- 33:31Speaker 1: the safety. He's just trying to hold the nickel. That's
- 33:33Speaker 1: next level. It doesn't work. He finally gets his... He's
- 33:39Speaker 1: almost non-looking. As he's hitching, he's still looking here. Come on.
- 33:46Speaker 1: And then the dime. Dime of the day. See here.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Watch Dak's eyes. He hits his fifth and he hitches
- 33:54Speaker 1: up and his eyes are still there knowing he's going
- 33:56Speaker 1: to throw the out route to the right. Are you
- 33:58Speaker 1: kidding me? Look at this. This is next level quarterback play, dude.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Look at him off. Oh my gosh. Dime. So good.
- 34:08Speaker 1: CeeDee Lamb, game winner. Here it is, Dak Prescott, man.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Two-minute drive. There's no better quarterback in the league in
- 34:14Speaker 1: two-minute drives. Awful coverage, first of all. Second of all,
- 34:19Speaker 1: I love the play. The play call's sweet. You're going
- 34:23Speaker 1: to have a... Ferguson does a heck of a job
- 34:26Speaker 1: right here of taking two. That's your only job. It's
- 34:28Speaker 1: called for the love of the game route. And then
- 34:30Speaker 1: you have outside leverage, which they've been killing him on
- 34:33Speaker 1: out routes all game long. So Ferguson on the love
- 34:36Speaker 1: of the game. CD on a post and is literally
- 34:40Speaker 1: like taking candy from a baby. Dak delivers. I mean,
- 34:43Speaker 1: this is next level. Truly, really, really good stuff right here.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Ends up putting it on a line. You can't throw
- 34:50Speaker 1: this football any better. Look how quickly Dak in the
- 34:55Speaker 1: pocket gets this out. He's like, oh my gosh, this
- 34:57Speaker 1: is too real. It's already getting thrown, right? It's already
- 35:00Speaker 1: getting thrown. He's already on the break. It's like a
- 35:02Speaker 1: seven step bang eight. Watch it from this view. You
- 35:06Speaker 1: just got to hold this safety. In 87, you've got
- 35:10Speaker 1: to hold this guy. He takes three. He takes three.
- 35:13Speaker 1: You've got to just beat this guy with the throw.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That's easy money. Come on. You can't place this any better.
- 35:20Speaker 1: That's like a 30-yard handoff, 20-yard handoff. Dak's super pumped
- 35:25Speaker 1: about it. The Cowboys, man, look, defensively not great. But
- 35:29Speaker 1: the way Dak is playing, next level, man. Really, really
- 35:33Speaker 1: good stuff. Dying. All right, see what I'm saying? When
- 35:37Speaker 1: the film shows for Dak Prescott, it is next level.
- 35:40Speaker 1: He is one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch. Another
- 35:43Speaker 1: favorite quarterback to watch of mine is Brock Purdy. Brock
- 35:45Speaker 1: Purdy playing at an extremely high level. I said it
- 35:48Speaker 1: in the top six quarterbacks. He is my MVP this year.
- 35:52Speaker 1: He had his worst game. Oh, guess what? 107 rating.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Let's see how Denver was able to get beat by
- 36:01Speaker 1: Brock Purdy and the 49ers put on an absolute show.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Let's get into it. All right, Brock Purdy, dude, is
- 36:08Speaker 1: playing at an extremely high level. I don't think you understand. Continually,
- 36:14Speaker 1: like it just keeps getting better. He had his worst game,
- 36:16Speaker 1: and his worst game was 107 rating. I say the
- 36:19Speaker 1: worst game. We're going to go through it. Just done
- 36:20Speaker 1: a lot of stuff down the field, and this is
- 36:22Speaker 1: a very good Broncos team. Big alert right here, Debo Samuel.
- 36:26Speaker 1: I think he's playing excellent in the backfield. Just wanted
- 36:30Speaker 1: to start with this because I love the play call.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It has nothing to do with Brock Purdy. It has
- 36:33Speaker 1: everything to do with Debo Samuel. Like, Why in the
- 36:35Speaker 1: world did they let him go in the first place?
- 36:37Speaker 1: I get it. But here's Juice. Boom, boom. You're going
- 36:39Speaker 1: to end up crushing right there. They do this offset
- 36:42Speaker 1: stuff because a lot of it's drop back. And then
- 36:46Speaker 1: just Scott free right there. The use of personnel groupings.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I mean, look where everyone is. Debo's in the backfield.
- 36:53Speaker 1: This is play nine. CMC's here. Tight end here. Receiver there.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Fullback there. So you have... I mean, it's crazy. Like
- 37:05Speaker 1: two backs, 21 personnel, and you're doing that. Really nice
- 37:09Speaker 1: job blocking. 17, look at this. It's awesome. Just love
- 37:13Speaker 1: this play call. So one, you just have a little
- 37:15Speaker 1: bit of motion, right? Just right there. And then he's
- 37:18Speaker 1: back here and then going to go boom, boom. This
- 37:20Speaker 1: is a good defense too. It's a 3-4 team. It's
- 37:23Speaker 1: an under front team, right? Trent Williams. Thought he played
- 37:27Speaker 1: pretty good this week. Pushing them down. It's awesome. It's
- 37:35Speaker 1: just really hard to tackle. I mean, that's Hufunga too.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Hufunga had two interceptions last week. Hufunga. All right, now
- 37:40Speaker 1: let's get into Brock Purdy play. Under center versus two-eye
- 37:45Speaker 1: safety look. Vance Joseph, a lot of pressure. Five man,
- 37:49Speaker 1: who's dropping? Is it rush eight? What is it? Right?
- 37:52Speaker 1: Let's just get back here. Let's just run Mike Evans
- 37:56Speaker 1: on a deep end route versus safety. I mean, and
- 37:59Speaker 1: just get completely wide open. It's a post route right there.
- 38:06Speaker 1: like that you're really reading this guy if this guy
- 38:08Speaker 1: stays you want to throw here but there's two safeties
- 38:11Speaker 1: right there taking it and then you have underneath right
- 38:14Speaker 1: there so that's an alert i would call it mike
- 38:17Speaker 1: evans is one that's number two and you're all doing
- 38:19Speaker 1: it from under center he gets a he does a
- 38:23Speaker 1: nice job of getting back and just the spacing i
- 38:26Speaker 1: think this is what i want like the spacing of
- 38:29Speaker 1: it receiver here okay good spacing receiver here good spacing
- 38:33Speaker 1: receiver there good spacing It's a triangle versus a square, right?
- 38:39Speaker 1: So let's just see if he jumps down, right? I'm
- 38:42Speaker 1: going to hit CMC, right? And it's almost like, hey,
- 38:45Speaker 1: you're here and then a return, but it's just enough.
- 38:48Speaker 1: These are longer developing plays. Mike Evans, excellent job. And
- 38:54Speaker 1: he was able to throw this. You know, this is
- 38:57Speaker 1: a very difficult one-on-one. I think that's Zach Allen right
- 38:59Speaker 1: there with the left guard. He's able to throw this
- 39:02Speaker 1: and him and Mike are on the same page. Nice
- 39:04Speaker 1: catch right there. Just one-on-one. This is a very difficult
- 39:08Speaker 1: down of blocking versus these interior guys. But you just
- 39:13Speaker 1: go back there. As you're getting hit, you can't step
- 39:15Speaker 1: into it. You can't even step into it, right? Look,
- 39:17Speaker 1: watch this. One-on-one battle. Seven-step drop. Got to get enough
- 39:21Speaker 1: to read this guy. Most people do it out of
- 39:23Speaker 1: the gun. Most mere morals do it out of the gun.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Look at him. He's throwing this back. And he just,
- 39:28Speaker 1: I mean, a heck of a catch not the best
- 39:30Speaker 1: throw but a really good throw for being under pressure
- 39:36Speaker 1: and you can't really step anywhere right you got white
- 39:39Speaker 1: jersey right in your face boom take a step back
- 39:43Speaker 1: really good like this view too all right Let's play 17,
- 39:48Speaker 1: one of the best throws that I have of this game.
- 39:53Speaker 1: He's working. 99's a beast, though, right? One-on-one. You can't really.
- 39:59Speaker 1: This is what they get you. They get you into
- 40:00Speaker 1: one-on-one situations because they put a guy over everybody, so
- 40:04Speaker 1: your O-line has to have a really good game. Don't
- 40:07Speaker 1: think he would sack this game, though. Nice job just
- 40:09Speaker 1: looking at the safety, right? You want to peek. He's
- 40:12Speaker 1: looking here, so he knows that I'm going to now
- 40:14Speaker 1: high-low off this guy. If he stays low, I go high.
- 40:18Speaker 1: If he stays high, I go low. Low, I go high. Whatever.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Nice throw. Perfect job. All right. Quarter to minute 55 left.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Little motion. Little do this. Little this. Play action. Love this.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I mean, he threw this thing so freaking hard. There's
- 40:38Speaker 1: a lot of stuff that I just don't get. This isn't,
- 40:43Speaker 1: this is not an RPO and it's not a bad
- 40:46Speaker 1: thing that I don't get. I just think it's like
- 40:47Speaker 1: next level stuff. They didn't have this around when I
- 40:50Speaker 1: was playing. So you're going to have Devo here. You're
- 40:51Speaker 1: going to go in orbit motion. Then you have a
- 40:54Speaker 1: three step slant and then you have a five step
- 40:56Speaker 1: slant with that. So you're going to read inside out
- 40:58Speaker 1: one to two to three to me. And it's a
- 41:02Speaker 1: play fake to me. It looks like it's covered. It
- 41:06Speaker 1: looks like it's covered, but it's almost like you're sort of,
- 41:09Speaker 1: are you stuck? You're sort of like stock block in.
- 41:12Speaker 1: To think they're going to throw this. He's there. He
- 41:15Speaker 1: doesn't really pump, but he looks there. And he gets
- 41:18Speaker 1: enough of this guy to go here. And he crosses
- 41:22Speaker 1: his face. So that's what I think it is. I
- 41:23Speaker 1: think it's like a fake pump of sorts. Boom. Boom.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Stock blocking this guy when you go across. Yeah, that's
- 41:31Speaker 1: what it is. I like this play a lot. It's
- 41:33Speaker 1: a cool play call. How about the hands by Juice2
- 41:36Speaker 1: and The Sun? So play fake. You don't really need
- 41:40Speaker 1: a pump here. As much as you do is like, hey,
- 41:43Speaker 1: let's just get it going. Watch them. Just enough. Just enough, right?
- 41:49Speaker 1: Those are things hard, dude. Nice catch by Juice, right?
- 41:54Speaker 1: It's like everyone's just sort of looking like what's happening.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Like no one's really reacting. Losing Patrick Sertan didn't help
- 42:00Speaker 1: the Broncos either. Nice throw. That's hard to stop, man.
- 42:05Speaker 1: You get a fullback to catch like that? What are
- 42:07Speaker 1: you supposed to do about that? It's crazy. Love the
- 42:11Speaker 1: play call, though. All right, there we go. Boom, boom, boom.
- 42:17Speaker 1: He got that so easy. Impressive. All right, next play,
- 42:20Speaker 1: 38 seconds left in the half. Got to maybe take
- 42:24Speaker 1: a chunk. Do they trust him to throw it? Yes,
- 42:27Speaker 1: they do. He hit Mike Evans. Come on now. Might
- 42:32Speaker 1: be one of my favorite throws of the game. You
- 42:34Speaker 1: have to go down the field. All right, so you're
- 42:37Speaker 1: going to have this outside release post-route. go ball you're
- 42:41Speaker 1: just trying to two on one and you have right
- 42:43Speaker 1: here to hold this safety this route is just to
- 42:46Speaker 1: hold this safety right here you're really reading up top
- 42:50Speaker 1: one to two you got to hold it just a
- 42:51Speaker 1: little bit you're going to get out run an option
- 42:53Speaker 1: route see how this plays out looks to me like
- 42:57Speaker 1: they're going quarter quarter half so this is a quarter
- 43:00Speaker 1: side this is the half side up here So that's
- 43:06Speaker 1: where you want to attack versus defense as long as
- 43:08Speaker 1: this guy can hold here. A lot of stuff going
- 43:10Speaker 1: on in this play. Takes a three-step drop. Nice job
- 43:15Speaker 1: by Mike Evans. Sort of, ta-da, tapping outside. Bends it in.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Guy in his face as Brock's going down. Such a
- 43:24Speaker 1: good throw. Mike Evans brings such a different dynamic to
- 43:30Speaker 1: this offense. It's unbelievable. One, two, three. As he's getting
- 43:34Speaker 1: hit in the face, too. Boom. Nice throw. I mean, dude,
- 43:39Speaker 1: that is a dime. Ooh, tight window throw. Let's go.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Let's go then, Brock. And this is straight drop back.
- 43:50Speaker 1: People are like, oh, he can't do it off just
- 43:51Speaker 1: straight drop back. Yeah, right. Watch it. Look at him.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I don't think he meant to do this to jump,
- 43:58Speaker 1: but watch what he does when he just, because he
- 43:59Speaker 1: was going to throw it and then he saw him
- 44:01Speaker 1: held up. Watch what he does. Just gets him out
- 44:04Speaker 1: of the pocket, push him down. Left guard's battling right there.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Look at that throw. And for Mike to stay up too.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Mike's loving this guy. Unbelievable. All right, still 3-3 for
- 44:18Speaker 1: how well Brock played. Still 3-3 in this game. This
- 44:21Speaker 1: is third quarter. Bring Mike Evans over. Okay, here you go.
- 44:26Speaker 1: You're in 21 personnel. Everything's covered. What do you got
- 44:30Speaker 1: to do? Take off with the football. Use your legs.
- 44:34Speaker 1: It's such an underutilized part of of your game. So
- 44:37Speaker 1: I like that, right? They were in slot formation with
- 44:39Speaker 1: Debo and Mike. This is their best personnel grouping, by
- 44:42Speaker 1: the way. I think this is their best personnel grouping.
- 44:44Speaker 1: 21 personnel, Kittle, CMC, Juice, Debo, Mike Evans. This is
- 44:51Speaker 1: where they make their money. So what you're trying to
- 44:54Speaker 1: do here, you're trying to just, for the love of
- 44:57Speaker 1: the game route, take this guy out. You're trying to
- 44:59Speaker 1: come up, grab Hufunga with a stop route. It's called
- 45:03Speaker 1: a hunt route. You hunt up around 12 yards. and
- 45:06Speaker 1: then try to post right here and throw this post
- 45:08Speaker 1: over top. Doesn't really work out like that because guess what?
- 45:10Speaker 1: They're NFL guys too, right? He's there, not so fast.
- 45:15Speaker 1: He's not getting out. Maybe if he was right there,
- 45:17Speaker 1: but it's not. See, already back up. That's the thing
- 45:20Speaker 1: too about, I feel like the time's up better out
- 45:25Speaker 1: of under center because look, he's at the top of
- 45:27Speaker 1: his drop. Not looking, not looking, not looking, not looking,
- 45:34Speaker 1: not looking. So let's go make something miss. Let's go
- 45:39Speaker 1: make somebody miss and go up there. One-on-one with the safety.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Really nice run. But watch, he takes sort of a
- 45:47Speaker 1: quicker three right here. Surprised that he did this. Needs
- 45:50Speaker 1: to be a little bit... No one's looking. You see
- 45:55Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Needs to be a little bit longer.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Maybe this is a five-step drop. Ufunga not taking the cheese.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Nine's not taking the cheese. Oh, look. Sort of pump
- 46:07Speaker 1: fakes him. Just enough. He gets him. It's crazy. Gave
- 46:13Speaker 1: him the first, I think. So bring him over in
- 46:18Speaker 1: slot formation. Now we're here. Pretty simple route concept. Doesn't
- 46:21Speaker 1: work out. Got to move. Got to move. Can you
- 46:24Speaker 1: keep your eyes down the field? This little move right
- 46:26Speaker 1: here coming up. Really good. Right there. Slows him. Thought
- 46:30Speaker 1: he might have seen this guy. That would have been sweet.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Juice really wants the football because it's a touchdown. That'd
- 46:35Speaker 1: be a difficult throw like pitch like that? No shot.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Third and one. What are you going to do? You
- 46:41Speaker 1: going to run it? Throw it? Where are we at?
- 46:44Speaker 1: Pitch fake. Man, nothing's there. Oh, man. We used to
- 46:48Speaker 1: run this play in New Orleans. It's a pop pass.
- 46:53Speaker 1: How about you get back to read four right here?
- 46:55Speaker 1: All right. So you have 12 personnel with a running
- 46:59Speaker 1: back in. I think it's black. Two best receivers. Right?
- 47:02Speaker 1: So you're going to go here. You're going to fake
- 47:04Speaker 1: the jet sweep. You're going to fake the pitch, and
- 47:08Speaker 1: you're going to try to pop, and then you're going
- 47:11Speaker 1: to come back over here on a whirl route. So
- 47:13Speaker 1: it's really one to two to three. Sorry, I put
- 47:18Speaker 1: three there. And then four here. Get back to your
- 47:21Speaker 1: fourth progression. Talk about good offensive line play. Thought he
- 47:27Speaker 1: might have thrown this right there. Maybe he should have
- 47:30Speaker 1: let it go. Didn't like it. Let's pop back here.
- 47:34Speaker 1: He's so good at getting through progressions. I think that's
- 47:37Speaker 1: what's impressive about him. And then he just almost overthrows it.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Easy touchdown for Debo. So good. Okay. Boom, boom, boom.
- 47:51Speaker 1: There we go. Not so fast. Oh, everyone missing. And
- 47:55Speaker 1: this is what happens when you can create as a quarterback.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Easy touchdowns happen. I like this play call, though. Fake. Fake.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Get these guys to move, which you did. I'm surprised
- 48:10Speaker 1: he didn't throw this. That's open. Should have thrown it.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Doesn't matter, though. Debo Samuel got it. Receiver room got it.
- 48:20Speaker 1: As long as it wasn't the tight end room or
- 48:22Speaker 1: running back room that got it, we're good. All right,
- 48:24Speaker 1: fourth quarter. 10-0-3 left. Play 50 in the game. Debo's in.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Playing a lot more too. I like it. Debo and
- 48:31Speaker 1: Mike on the same side. 21 personnel. That's my favorite
- 48:33Speaker 1: personnel grouping that they do. Got to make a miss. Oh,
- 48:38Speaker 1: you make him look silly right here. How about this?
- 48:40Speaker 1: Juice staying alive. Boom. Hope he's all right. Got jacked
- 48:43Speaker 1: up on that one. But how about this? How many
- 48:44Speaker 1: times do you see him going to his left and
- 48:47Speaker 1: just doing something special like this? Like Juice is all
- 48:50Speaker 1: the way over here. Come on now. So it's a
- 48:56Speaker 1: corner route. It's an option route and it's a whip route,
- 49:01Speaker 1: corner route. I think maybe supposed to hit Debo as
- 49:04Speaker 1: the number one down to this whip all the way
- 49:07Speaker 1: over here to this number three. Some of these route
- 49:10Speaker 1: concepts are interesting to me. You want to get the
- 49:13Speaker 1: mic to go this way? I'm like literally figuring them
- 49:16Speaker 1: out in full time, but watch this in real time.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Watch this. Really good. Really good. Oh, not so fast.
- 49:24Speaker 1: He's done this so many times. Most people just throw
- 49:26Speaker 1: that football away. Hope Juice is all right, though. This
- 49:30Speaker 1: is a good view from it. Bring Devo over. He's
- 49:34Speaker 1: going to go here. Mike's going to clear it out. One, two, three, four, five.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Don't set an edge right there. It'd be nice if
- 49:46Speaker 1: you just would have broke out like that. Maybe it
- 49:49Speaker 1: was an option. A lot of times you do give
- 49:53Speaker 1: them a two-way go right here. Well, whatever. It's gonna
- 49:56Speaker 1: make someone miss. Oh man, look at Sean Payton too.
- 50:01Speaker 1: What are we doing? Oh man, that's brutal. Hope he's alright.
- 50:12Speaker 1: That's crazy though. He's a good player for him too.
- 50:22Speaker 1: That view's sick. Look at this. Ouch. That hurts. Alright,
- 50:28Speaker 1: still a 10-6 game. Under center again. Couple more plays
- 50:31Speaker 1: right here. Five men front. Russian five. Stuff's open underneath.
- 50:39Speaker 1: It's up, up, up, down the field. If you can
- 50:40Speaker 1: go three deep, three under, man, there's a lot of
- 50:45Speaker 1: open space. Right here, it's like this route. They're going
- 50:50Speaker 1: double corner stops. Look at this. So corner, stop. Corner, stop.
- 50:55Speaker 1: You got to come right back down your stem. That's
- 50:58Speaker 1: the thing on these corner stops. Chip, chip, seven-step drop.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Work away from safety rotation. Safety's going there. Easy money.
- 51:06Speaker 1: There's nothing special about this. I just like it. Because
- 51:08Speaker 1: he's getting Mike Evans involved. Throws it right back to him.
- 51:13Speaker 1: He's not the tallest guy ever, right? That's sweet, though.
- 51:19Speaker 1: It's just pinpoint accurate, too. Look at this throw. Between
- 51:22Speaker 1: all that, defenders, pinpoint accurate. Just throw the football right
- 51:26Speaker 1: on his chest. Make it easy for Mike Evans to
- 51:28Speaker 1: catch it. Like the eyes, too. Watch the eyes. He
- 51:32Speaker 1: knows exactly where he's going. Hold the eyes down the field.
- 51:35Speaker 1: This is such good quarterback play. And then he also
- 51:40Speaker 1: looks to the flat, too, knowing that he's going to
- 51:42Speaker 1: throw here. Almost gets tipped. All right, two more plays.
- 51:50Speaker 1: All right, here we go. Bringing Debo in motion. Kittle there. Oh, man,
- 51:56Speaker 1: this is sweet. Get in, Mike Evans. Oh, what are
- 52:00Speaker 1: we doing? No. I mean, this is just hard for anyone.
- 52:09Speaker 1: because you have heavy play action this way, you're gonna
- 52:13Speaker 1: end up booting this way, tight split corner, take two corner,
- 52:17Speaker 1: then you're gonna insert Mike this way. A lot of
- 52:20Speaker 1: teams just go down flat, he inserts this way, and
- 52:24Speaker 1: then you have an over route that way. So you
- 52:26Speaker 1: read one to two, really don't ever throw the corner
- 52:29Speaker 1: on this. I just think the little bitty, hey, let's
- 52:32Speaker 1: insert inside to make it different and maybe get these
- 52:36Speaker 1: guys to think run this way, and it works. As
- 52:39Speaker 1: soon as you insert this way, look at this guy.
- 52:41Speaker 1: He can't see anything. He should be on Mike Evans.
- 52:44Speaker 1: That little bitty subtle detail gets stuff open. Sean Payton
- 52:50Speaker 1: hates it on the sideline. Look at him right there.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Not good. But yeah, from this back view, insert Mike
- 52:57Speaker 1: Evans there. Watch what happens to 29's eyes when they insert.
- 53:01Speaker 1: I've never seen this insert naked before. Interesting fake. I'm
- 53:11Speaker 1: just looking at this fake. He changed his hands twice?
- 53:15Speaker 1: Not quite sure. Nice throw, though. That's so much more
- 53:18Speaker 1: difficult than you think. So many people don't put this
- 53:22Speaker 1: on him. You got three guys. Open, open, open. Can run.
- 53:31Speaker 1: You got him on a blender, man. It's tough. All right,
- 53:35Speaker 1: last play right here. George Kittle. Where is he at?
- 53:37Speaker 1: Right here. Touchdown or almost touchdown screen. Look at this
- 53:42Speaker 1: So sweet. I think this is a touchdown. Yeah, look
- 53:44Speaker 1: how fast he is He catches this Let's get the
- 53:52Speaker 1: big fellas some love center right guard getting out getting flat.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Oh That's a rat kill. Everyone knows knows who that is.
- 54:01Speaker 1: You kill the rat make one guy miss you're off
- 54:03Speaker 1: the 49ers to me, man. They're They're rolling Especially with Kittle, man.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Look at that. That's sweet. Like, they're rolling right now.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Kittle's right there. They're blitzing. You can't call it at
- 54:14Speaker 1: a better time. They're going to be hard to beat.
- 54:17Speaker 1: They're going to be hard to beat. I mean, they're
- 54:19Speaker 1: not unbeatable, but their offense and defense is rolling right now.
- 54:23Speaker 1: All right, see, so Brock Purdy made a lot of
- 54:26Speaker 1: plays at the end of the game, which led to massive,
- 54:30Speaker 1: massive win for the 49ers and to get 4-0. And
- 54:33Speaker 1: then another sneaky good performance, specifically in the fourth quarter.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Let's get to this Patrick Mahomes tape against the Raiders.
- 54:38Speaker 1: The Raiders defensively are really good. Patrick Mahomes got beat
- 54:40Speaker 1: up behind the offensive line. Tyquan Thornton got hurt. All
- 54:44Speaker 1: this stuff. Kenneth Walker. All this stuff. At the end
- 54:48Speaker 1: of the day, Patrick Mahomes is still Patrick Mahomes. Let's
- 54:51Speaker 1: break it down. All right. Patrick Mahomes. Play six of
- 54:54Speaker 1: the game. Third and two. Just had to put this
- 54:55Speaker 1: on there. This has nothing to do with Mahomes. Look
- 54:56Speaker 1: at this big boy. Right here. Getting that. Dude. Get
- 55:00Speaker 1: the first. Let's go. Almost had like a. double option
- 55:05Speaker 1: almost boom boom you got it i love it though
- 55:09Speaker 1: like the the offense man is noah gray you got
- 55:13Speaker 1: 11 new extra offensive linemen 92 this is their version
- 55:18Speaker 1: of quarterback sneak you gotta get across you gotta get
- 55:22Speaker 1: across that's the way right there that's the wedge blocking
- 55:25Speaker 1: it's their version of quarterback sneak ever since he got
- 55:27Speaker 1: hurt in the broncos but yeah i just love seeing
- 55:30Speaker 1: him A big boy, like an offensive lineman catch the ball,
- 55:33Speaker 1: an offensive lineman carry the ball. Didn't get it though.
- 55:39Speaker 1: And they got stopped on fourth down. All right, now
- 55:40Speaker 1: let's get into the real thing. Patrick Mahomes here played
- 55:43Speaker 1: really well. Thought the offensive line struggled. Really good run
- 55:46Speaker 1: game blocking, pass game blocking. My gosh, they are. It is,
- 55:51Speaker 1: he got his butt whooped. I'm just showing, I got
- 55:54Speaker 1: some bad plays to show, but I'm showing some of
- 55:56Speaker 1: the good ones. First of all, offsides. Second of all,
- 56:01Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker effect, man. All right, a lot of stuff.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Nothing special about this play other than, man, I hope
- 56:07Speaker 1: he's all right. Like, this is a big deal. You
- 56:09Speaker 1: can't lose four and two in the same game. Ah, man,
- 56:15Speaker 1: you hate to see it. I like the play call, though.
- 56:18Speaker 1: I think that's the one thing I want to focus
- 56:20Speaker 1: on is because you have Kenneth Walker, he's offsides. You're
- 56:25Speaker 1: going to end up just faking the left, going right,
- 56:30Speaker 1: You have speed here with Worthy, who's going to have
- 56:32Speaker 1: to step up. You're going through, right? And then just
- 56:36Speaker 1: sort of like a down flat. So you can read
- 56:38Speaker 1: it low to high, one to two. The fake is
- 56:42Speaker 1: really good. Watch him get this. They're bringing one, two, three, four, five, six.
- 56:47Speaker 1: They're bringing Sawdog, which is Sam and Will. There's the mic.
- 56:52Speaker 1: There's a safety. A lot of different things they're bringing.
- 56:54Speaker 1: But they're bringing double-edged pressure. Don't love it. It's really, actually,
- 57:00Speaker 1: it's not. Well, it's a corner. They're bringing double corner pressure. Oh, man.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Double cat, double cat, double cat. Tight formation. How do
- 57:09Speaker 1: you stop the run game of the Chiefs? You bring
- 57:12Speaker 1: double cat. Not so fast. We're on the outside. I
- 57:15Speaker 1: love double cat. Corner cat. And then you just, like,
- 57:19Speaker 1: hit it with that. Like, this should have easily been
- 57:21Speaker 1: a first down. I hope he's all right, though. Look
- 57:26Speaker 1: at this tight technique. Quarter. Quarter. We're blitzing, boys. So
- 57:34Speaker 1: everyone just whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. How do
- 57:38Speaker 1: you beat that? Fake. Throw a hot. Boom. Nice job
- 57:42Speaker 1: by Rasheed Rice, too. Understanding to speed it up. Like,
- 57:45Speaker 1: he's told right here, you want to get in here,
- 57:48Speaker 1: but if they end up bringing pressure right here, eyes quick.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Eyes quick. Now. That's good. That's not good. All right,
- 57:58Speaker 1: next play right here. Full house backfield. Two tight ends
- 58:02Speaker 1: on that side. Play fake and away. I love that
- 58:04Speaker 1: so much. Catch the ball. Honestly, catch the ball. There
- 58:09Speaker 1: were a couple of these, but I like it. There's
- 58:12Speaker 1: tight end, tight end, back. Fake this way. Watch the
- 58:15Speaker 1: suck up on here, first of all. And then we'll
- 58:17Speaker 1: go over the play. They got it. Just enough. Just enough.
- 58:22Speaker 1: And I like that you can go there and back across.
- 58:25Speaker 1: This is when he usually has his best pocket. Let's
- 58:27Speaker 1: look at the pocket. I'd say that's a good pocket.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Look at that. It's got to stay on the blocks,
- 58:35Speaker 1: which it is. And when he has a full pocket
- 58:38Speaker 1: to protect, man, you've got to catch the football. So
- 58:41Speaker 1: let's talk about the route. Inside release, take two. You
- 58:44Speaker 1: have a pylon. 40 yards to go to the back pylon. Pylon. Pylon.
- 58:49Speaker 1: You have a deep cross right here. 18 to 22 yards.
- 58:53Speaker 1: Still run this same play. 18 versus man. 22 versus zone.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Let's get to 22. Most importantly, catch the ball. Can't
- 59:02Speaker 1: throw this ball any better. Maybe a little high. Look
- 59:07Speaker 1: at this, though. You haven't seen a lot of this.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Two tight ends together. on the same side one two
- 59:13Speaker 1: three four five six seven eight man protection pocket you
- 59:20Speaker 1: love that beat him I just got to beat the
- 59:23Speaker 1: corner with the throw which he does that's in his
- 59:27Speaker 1: hands boys You got to catch that. What are we doing?
- 59:32Speaker 1: Let's go. Moms can't catch it too. I just love that.
- 59:40Speaker 1: This is the one. I said they didn't play well.
- 59:42Speaker 1: This is the one somewhat clean pocket they had. Come on.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Third and 10. Got to have it. Cut quickly there
- 59:49Speaker 1: to the line of scrimmage. No one's set. They're getting
- 59:54Speaker 1: to the line of scrimmage quickly. They muddle hutter. They
- 59:57Speaker 1: do whatever they want. So many different things can win
- 59:59Speaker 1: the ballgame other than just scheme. How do you get
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: out of the huddle? How do you do this? The players,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: all that stuff. Get up, get set. Snap on the ball.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: No one's moved on this side. Love that. So good.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Sort of underthrew this, but how about Xavier Worthy going
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: up and playing above the rim? That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I don't think he was supposed to throw this. What
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I think is supposed to happen is like out, up, stop, stop, there.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: And I think he just said, hey, everyone's blitzing. Let's
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: throw this thing to Xavier Worthy. Going to have to
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: step up big time. Nice job by Kelsey too. The
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: fall away leads to inaccurate throws. Let's get it this way.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: How about Kelsey getting them on the edge though? Right there.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Nice job. Most people would set their feet and maybe
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: throw this over there. Would love to see him to
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: set his feet. This is Dime. Look at him. Dime
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: falling to your left. You know how hard of a
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: throw that is? Also, DB, get your head around. Nice
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: job by Xavier Worthy going up, though, and getting it. Boom.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: It's pretty Dime. It's pretty close. Good job. He's pumped, too.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: He's going to have to step up. Nice job by
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Kelsey right here. Getting on the edge to the left.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: We got it right here. Look at this throw. Look
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: at this throw. It's like this sort of fadeaway J, dude.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: If he leads him over here, it's a touchdown. But
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: way to go up and get it, dog. All right,
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: third and two. Big down right here. All right, big
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: down here in the red zone. Raiders are like, we're
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: not doing anything. When they're on the same level, it's lock,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: which means it's man to man. Kelsey getting out there.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: So good. 11 did it perfectly. So the rule is
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: if they're within a yard, you can block them. You
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: can just block them and he goes right there. They
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: don't switch either. It's a lot that goes into it
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: on why they don't switch. I think the biggest issue
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: is that you have two tight ends over here, and
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: they're so locked in. A lot of people used to
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: run this Q8 pick. That's what it is. Q8, you're
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: sprinting to your right. Right here, Q8 solid. Everything right there.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Not so fast. That's so easy. And how about the throw, too? Boom,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: right in his hands. That might be the easiest touchdown
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes has had. But I like the concept. Just easy,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: 12 personnel. Back is chowed. The defense called it chowed,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: so they should know a pass is coming. If not,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: he should be right here. Right here. Not so fast.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Go out there. Let's see how many steps it takes. One, two, three, four, five.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Fifth step, ball out. Perfect throw. Perfect timing. This is
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: sort of the Chiefs' red zone offense. They love sprinting
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: out right here. They love doing funky things. Most importantly,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: look how many guys are in the box. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker effect. Telling you. All right, second and 15.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Anytime they're out there, you're going to motion in. Trying
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: to figure out who's who. You get to an easy
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: two-by-two formation, two tight ends. Kelsey could have got going.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: I like this play, though, a lot. I like this
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: play from Travis Kelsey. He ends up, hey, I know
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I'm the looky slant. It's just Lyon. They call it Lyon.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Double slant. A lot of people call it line. Double slant.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: But it's a looky inside slant. Take two. Your job
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: is to hit him, go there, and just clear up
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: the path for Xavier. And I think this is where
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Worthy can get a lot better at, too. Everyone wants
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: to say, oh, you're these deep post routes, these go balls,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: these deep outs, these deep daggers. Dude, get better on
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: these intermediate throws. And when you do... Catch the ball
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: and roll. It don't have to just be a one-trick
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: pony going back. It'd be interesting to see if Cheetah's back,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill's back, where he fits in. But how about Kelsey?
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Running the rock like he's getting the ball, holding here,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Mahomes sees it, goes outside to Worthy, puts it on
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: his chest. You're going to hit one of these, I
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: promise you, and they're going to hit, and they're just
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: going to split it. That's the type of speed you have,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: but I love the fact where Mahomes puts his football.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Let's watch his mechanics right here. Understanding what you're doing. Saying, hey,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: here's the mic, which means I'm going here. I got
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: everybody else. It's what's happening. Got a little tight, short motion.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Eyes here to make sure this guy doesn't fly out.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Then your eyes have to go here all while getting
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: the ball and also throwing it to the outside guy.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: So there's a lot going on in his head on
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: this easy throw. Okay. Decent mechanics right there. Crosby doesn't
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: get the hands up. It's good to win. That's the
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: worst thing in the world when you have, you know,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: a rush that you're going, you're trying to set it up,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and the ball's already spit. Watch him. Look how fast
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: he's going. Puts his head down, head up, ball's gone.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Can't even see the ball. Crazy. It's like, ah, man.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Mechanics sort of like hops out of it a little
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: bit right there. Watch the hop with Mahomes. See that?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Gets his feet in the ground quickly, puts it on him.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Nice throw. All right, 10-7, tight game. Play 32 of
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: the game. Oh, I love this so much. Let's go.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Major loss. Best throw of the game for Mahomes. They
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: end up double moving. Double out and up. So it's
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: double out and up. Circus pumps, whatever you want to
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: call it. Travis Kelsey has a middle read. Sit versus zone.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Run versus man. You can cross face into the post
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: area if it's too high. Only cover two. But you're
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: always going to end up working this side right here. Mahomes'
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: eyes are on this safety just to perfectly throw him football. One, two, three, four, five.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Doesn't even have to. He just looks. Doesn't even have to.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Eyes are in the backfield because this safety should have
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: top over top. Or over top, excuse me. Horrible technique
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: by the corner. I mean, look at Xavier run down here, too.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Just through bracket coverage right here. But the throw to
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: tackle on Thorpe, man, he's going to be missed. Like,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: that dislocated ankle is no joke. Hope he's all right.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: This is a dime, though. Can't throw it any better.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: And you put it in a position where he can
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: catch after, run after the catch, too, on a line.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: A lot of Chiefs fans in Las Vegas, huh? It's
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: pretty cool to see. One, two, three, four, five. Boom, boom. Dime.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Look at that. Boom. Kelsey doing the love of the
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: game route, taking these two through it. When he gets
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: a good pocket and they double move and they're aggressive
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: down the field, doesn't all have to come off play action.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Their game plan changes from week to week. See how
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: quickly that ball gets. Sweet. All right, here we go. One, two, three, four, five. Hitch, hitch.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: He puts some zip on that and it barely gets
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: above like 20 feet in the air too. Look how
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: easily he does this. Almost playing at a high level, man.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Don't be counting him out. New play right here. Checking
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: it out. Got a lot of 13 personnel in this game.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Oh no, I want this one back because they were
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: setting this up all game long. Kelsey could have had
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: a nice play right here. Stinks. So you got speed
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: right here. Take two pylon. And you got this over
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: route by Kelsey. Fake it. Go to the flat. Stop
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: route right here. Read it. High to low. One to
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: two to three. Good pocket. You got people going around.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Gets tipped though from that sidearm release. Oh, Kelsey's mad too.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Could have helped with his receiving yards, but I love
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: how they're scheming this up, though. I think that's the
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: biggest thing. You're just consistently scheming it up. You're sequencing
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: play calls correctly. You have guys taking it out. out.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: That's a space you want to hit. You know, only 50%
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: completion percentage by Mahomes. I think the Raiders defense is
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: a lot better than people think. But all the way
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: over here. Going to get right here. Fake here. Try
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: to get this backer up. What you do, he has
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: to go over there. Oh, man. Come on, 65. Sort
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: of got in the blender right here. Don't overset it. Shoot.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: So Kelsey's doing a really nice job right here. He
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: didn't go window one, window two. He's got to get
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: over there window three. Looks a lot faster. Play action
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: fake right there. I mean, what are the chances? Crazy.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: They get paid too. All right, couple more. 3x1 formation
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: in the red zone. Play 47. Gotta have it. Bring
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker 4x1. Come on, dude. What? He pumps this
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: to Kenneth Walker to then throw a dime to Thornton.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: And a back shoulder corner route. Come on now. This
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: is a dime. A couple things what they're doing here
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: is corner route. Taking this through. Okay, Kelsey's just sort
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: of a sit and you have a flat route. So
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: you definitely want to throw it here. They're hoping to
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: get this two-eye safety look and have this guy taken
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: out by Xavier Worthy on this route. Doesn't quite happen
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: like it. And so he ends up just throwing. This
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: is a, not a lot of people in the NFL
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: can make this throw. Between these two defenders, look at
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: the ball. It has to be perfect. He's going back.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: He's going there. He throws it back shoulder. On purpose.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I mean, the back shoulder corner route to me is
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: like undefeated. Undefeated. This dude, a couple of these throws
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: in this game, remind people who you are. Look at this.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Watch the pump. What? Come on now. So good in
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: so many different ways. But, yeah, so he pumps the
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: corner down on the flat to throw the corner, but
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: then has the ability to throw the corner. That's dirty.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: That's a quarterback who knows exactly what he wants to
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: do and then fires it. Do your dance. All right,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: love this play right here. All three of these major
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: plays down the field have come to Thornton. Understanding it's
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: cover zero. Understanding you have a job to do. Okay,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: understanding that and throwing this deep ball down the field.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: I love it so many ways in so many different ways.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: It is so good, right? You're bringing them over. Cover zero.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: You can tell too, just on that little motion, right?
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: That's everyone's got a man. That means you're bringing seven guys.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: And you have six to block. Got to beat it
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: with a throw. So he's just saying, hey, you're just
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: going to come scout free. He looks hot, not so fast. Boom, boom.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Look when he throws this. It's like the two and
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: a half ball. So one ball is on the money.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Two balls over. Three balls like a fate. It's like
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: in between. But look when he throws this. One, two, three, four, five.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: He's starting to throw it. And he knows he needs
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: to throw it high. Because somehow, some way he can
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: see that, hey, he's sort of a little bit higher.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: And he's not driving. So he throws this thing high.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Into like a walk away. Can't get any better than this,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: boys and girls. Call the protection. Slide the line left
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: because he wants the hot thrower in his face. Number one.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: So we're going left. We're going all the way out.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: knowing you stay here, you have here, I have the blitzer.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Just the thought process on that. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: all the way out, slide it over. Dude, let's go.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: That's not a fun feeling. That's a lonely feeling. And
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: guess what? He called for it exactly like that. Let's
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: do Throw this thing deep, and then I'm not going
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: to show the ending of this because it's bad, but
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: this was an unbelievable throw, unbelievable play. Your Chiefs are 4-0.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: All right, guys, so that is going to be it
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: for week four of the breakdown. I hope you enjoyed Dak,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Brock Purdy, and Patrick Mahomes and my top six quarterback list.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Make sure you like and subscribe. See you next week.
