Latest / 25 Whistles with Bobby Bones (A Football Podcast) / 25W: Bobby Alone From Home with special guest Stanley
Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five whist stuck in fun
- 0:08Speaker 1: Ball and they are wir a whistle, So yeah, it's
- 0:10Speaker 1: too bad, But what did you expect? It's a podcast
- 0:15Speaker 1: called twenty five Whistles twinning wine wheels.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I don't have luxury of the sounds, the songs, the
- 0:25Speaker 2: theme songs that we normally have, uh and when we
- 0:29Speaker 2: do this show, so there's none of that. It is
- 0:32Speaker 2: me home again alone twenty five whistles here. If you're
- 0:37Speaker 2: a bulldog snoring, that is because Stanley is back in
- 0:40Speaker 2: the studio with me, and he is currently wandering around
- 0:44Speaker 2: smelling everything. He does smell bad as well, which I
- 0:46Speaker 2: do not know why he smells bad. My wife and
- 0:48Speaker 2: I were watching the show called Bodies, which we just
- 0:51Speaker 2: finished eight episodes, and I love time travel and it's awesome.
- 0:57Speaker 2: At the end, they give you those three thumbs up,
- 1:01Speaker 2: nothing thumbs down, and like, I couldn't have thumbed up
- 1:04Speaker 2: bid enough. So I loved Bodies. I think my wife
- 1:08Speaker 2: liked Bodies. But I'm always weary when I recommend a
- 1:13Speaker 2: show to somebody, especially when it's so niched me because
- 1:18Speaker 2: if there are time travel or aliens, I like superheroes
- 1:25Speaker 2: and I never really consider myself a science fiction guy.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But we're watching bodies and she goes, what does that smell?
- 1:31Speaker 2: And it wasn't me and it was Stanley. And we
- 1:34Speaker 2: can't figure out why he stinks. We can't figure out
- 1:37Speaker 2: why you stink, buddy, Want you go lay down? Go on,
- 1:41Speaker 2: go lay down? Over there, go on, go lay down.
- 1:44Speaker 2: He doesn't really have a bed in this place where
- 1:46Speaker 2: we are, so he's kind of confused as to where
- 1:48Speaker 2: to go. But it's also weird. The bulldogs sleep so much,
- 1:51Speaker 2: Like I start to wonder, is Stanley depressed? But then
- 1:58Speaker 2: I get on on I Google and this is bulldog's
- 2:00Speaker 2: sleep for like fourteen fifteen hours a day, So he's
- 2:03Speaker 2: not depressed, he's just normal. How much do bulldogs sleep?
- 2:13Speaker 2: Experts aren't sure exactly why bulldogs knew so much, but
- 2:17Speaker 2: the average about twelve to fourteen hours of shut eye
- 2:20Speaker 2: a day, which, by the way, I could sleep twelve
- 2:22Speaker 2: to fourteen hours a day. Now that I'm not working,
- 2:26Speaker 2: I've slowly gotten back onto what I think is my
- 2:28Speaker 2: more natural body clock, which is I will go to
- 2:32Speaker 2: bed at about one am, two am, maybe even more if
- 2:37Speaker 2: I knew I didn't have work coming back to me soon,
- 2:40Speaker 2: and then I would wake up at ten thirty eleven
- 2:45Speaker 2: eleven thirty am, like that would be my natural body
- 2:47Speaker 2: clock sleep. And I'm always tired. And I was talking
- 2:53Speaker 2: to my wife about how I'm always just I'm not
- 2:57Speaker 2: gonna say tired. Isn't tired from work, but it's like
- 3:00Speaker 2: a tired sleepy hybrid. And I say, I'm always gonna slired.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And she's big on sunlight, and she reads all these
- 3:11Speaker 2: books about the body, and you know, she's been dealing
- 3:15Speaker 2: with health stuff pretty seriously for a couple of years now.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And she's a freaking fighter and trooper and so much
- 3:21Speaker 2: stronger than I am. But in the midst of all that,
- 3:25Speaker 2: you know, she says what helps her she goes out
- 3:29Speaker 2: into the sun early in the morning, and it lets
- 3:32Speaker 2: her body know it's time for the day to start.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Something like that. I'm gonna say this wrong, for sure,
- 3:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna say this wrong, but so forgive me. And
- 3:42Speaker 2: kind of her theory to me is I go into
- 3:45Speaker 2: work when it's dark, I wake up when it's dark,
- 3:47Speaker 2: I go to work when it's dark. I'm in that
- 3:49Speaker 2: building while it's dark, and I don't come out until
- 3:56Speaker 2: noon one. I never see the light of day until
- 4:00Speaker 2: noon one. It's like Las Vegas in that place, except
- 4:02Speaker 2: we do have clocks and less cigarette smoke. But because
- 4:07Speaker 2: my body never gets on that clock, maybe it's not
- 4:10Speaker 2: till noon or one that it kind of feels like, oh, sunlight,
- 4:13Speaker 2: it's now time to be natural caveman awake, so but
- 4:19Speaker 2: always sleepy, always tired. My natural body clock, though has
- 4:25Speaker 2: I've been waking up around seven thirty or eight. But
- 4:29Speaker 2: don't be fooled. I go right back to sleep. I'll
- 4:32Speaker 2: get up, I will feed the dogs. I might have
- 4:39Speaker 2: a little bit of breakfast, depending on what it is.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I'm doing a little bit of intermittent fasting right now,
- 4:45Speaker 2: and then I will go back to sleep for another
- 4:46Speaker 2: two hours. Easy, no prop bob. I mean it's no
- 4:49Speaker 2: prob bob. I go right back to sleep now. If
- 4:54Speaker 2: I talk about innimint fasting, it's not really for any
- 4:59Speaker 2: of these scientific reasons they say and are meant. Fasting
- 5:01Speaker 2: is good for the body. And you can read a
- 5:03Speaker 2: lot of research on soccer teams, Premier League soccer teams
- 5:07Speaker 2: and athletes who who will eat inside of an eight
- 5:10Speaker 2: hour window only and that leaves sixteen hours for the
- 5:13Speaker 2: body to digest and not only digest, but produce, but
- 5:16Speaker 2: get ready to talk that I'm telling you, I have
- 5:18Speaker 2: to do it just so I don't eat all kinds
- 5:21Speaker 2: of crazy stuff all night long. Like to me intermit
- 5:24Speaker 2: fasting that it's only taking the trough out from in
- 5:30Speaker 2: front of the horse. So I'm not doing any sort
- 5:34Speaker 2: of fasting because I'm like, I shall be the great
- 5:38Speaker 2: poomba and I shall fast and show you all these
- 5:42Speaker 2: scientific and molecular benefits. No, I just do it because
- 5:45Speaker 2: I don't have the willpower to not eat if there's
- 5:48Speaker 2: food in front of me. I think sometimes I get
- 5:51Speaker 2: I get celebrated because look at how how strong will
- 5:53Speaker 2: do you are? Look at how disciplined you are. No, no, no,
- 5:58Speaker 2: here's the thing. I'm not even that strong, wild or
- 6:00Speaker 2: disciplined at the actual thing. I'm strong, willed and disciplined
- 6:04Speaker 2: at keeping the actual thing in front of me because
- 6:06Speaker 2: I'm not strong, wild, or disciplined enough to not do it.
- 6:08Speaker 2: And that goes with sugar in the house, because if
- 6:11Speaker 2: there are cookies, I'm going to eat all the cookies.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And if there's food for me to eat at night,
- 6:17Speaker 2: and I don't have a strict regimen of I can't
- 6:20Speaker 2: eat after this hour, then I'm going to eat all
- 6:24Speaker 2: night long. So I'm in the middle of intermittent fasting.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So we had dinner tonight and I was excited to
- 6:33Speaker 2: watch really only one game I watched, Kentucky Bowl. That
- 6:36Speaker 2: game is Clemson. Who cares? And this is not going
- 6:39Speaker 2: to be a hole met talked about scores because again,
- 6:42Speaker 2: who cares? But I was looking forward to the Ohio
- 6:45Speaker 2: State Missouri game. I like drink at Missouri. I think
- 6:50Speaker 2: coach Dreg Whitz is awesome. I mean, the guy came
- 6:55Speaker 2: up high school, Arkansas State, Appalachian State for a year Missouri.
- 7:01Speaker 2: He's a quirky dude. Never played college football? Is I
- 7:05Speaker 2: don't think he did. I don't have a team here
- 7:07Speaker 2: to google for me. Did Eli drink Witz played college football?
- 7:16Speaker 2: Let's see Eli Drinkwitz staff directory A winner at every
- 7:25Speaker 2: stage of his career. Eli Drinkwitz, consider one of the
- 7:27Speaker 2: college football's offensive top minds, was introduced as Missouri's thirty
- 7:31Speaker 2: third head football coach. He just wanted SEC Coach of
- 7:35Speaker 2: the Year. By the way, although oh, do you hear
- 7:40Speaker 2: the bulldog? I think you can hear the bulldog I
- 7:46Speaker 2: think you can hear the bulldog two seasons of Boise
- 7:50Speaker 2: State offensive coordinator. Okay, here's his experience. Because I don't
- 7:57Speaker 2: think he played. I would have said he didn't play,
- 7:59Speaker 2: but I'm by myself now and I have been here
- 8:00Speaker 2: to check me. So if I'm wrong, you guys can
- 8:07Speaker 2: let me know. But I do not think he did.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I do like coach Nick Winsoe because he is a
- 8:13Speaker 2: He's a quirky dude. He does things differently. He's kind
- 8:19Speaker 2: of quirky, nerdy, odd, and maybe I like him because
- 8:25Speaker 2: that's kind of how I feel about myself most of
- 8:27Speaker 2: the time. He's not like the rest. He's not like
- 8:29Speaker 2: the cool guy. He's not like the Jim Harbaugh who
- 8:31Speaker 2: played in the NFL, who played in college, who had
- 8:37Speaker 2: a stored career, who was football guy who would beat
- 8:39Speaker 2: up the nerds. He's not that dude. He's the dude
- 8:45Speaker 2: that's like all of us now. People at Arkansas right
- 8:49Speaker 2: now do not like Missouri and ELI drink, which mostly
- 8:51Speaker 2: because they're kind of kicking our butts in football every
- 8:55Speaker 2: year basically basically and in recruiting this year, and I
- 9:01Speaker 2: mean they embarrassed this last year. But he's an Arkansas guy.
- 9:04Speaker 2: My darkisa Al Tech. I believe in went Tarksaw Tech,
- 9:08Speaker 2: so I root for him because he's different. He's almost
- 9:12Speaker 2: like the muss Eric Musselman. If I'm just staying Arkansas
- 9:16Speaker 2: centric for one second. Basketball people don't like mus sometimes
- 9:18Speaker 2: because Mustters goes crazy and does nutty things, takes a
- 9:21Speaker 2: shirt off after camps. Yeah, but that's because you don't
- 9:24Speaker 2: have him. If he was your guy, that would be
- 9:26Speaker 2: your guy. So my point is, I was gonna watch
- 9:31Speaker 2: the Missouri Ohio State game, which I did because I
- 9:33Speaker 2: came down in halftime and I think they had at
- 9:36Speaker 2: when I walked out of the house, they had completed
- 9:40Speaker 2: maybe one of eighteen third down conversions. It was awful.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It was unwatchable. This has to be what people feel
- 9:52Speaker 2: like if they're a die hard NBA fan and they're
- 9:55Speaker 2: forced to watch college basketball. If they only watched the
- 9:58Speaker 2: NBA and they're forced to watch college basketball, this has
- 10:03Speaker 2: to be what they feel like. Now. I don't take
- 10:04Speaker 2: that as a slight towards college basketball because it's my favorite.
- 10:07Speaker 2: But my friends that are diehard NBA freaks and fans,
- 10:10Speaker 2: they don't like to watch college basketball because it's just slower,
- 10:15Speaker 2: not as much isolation, not as much athleticism. But that's
- 10:19Speaker 2: what these bowl games are in general. And I'll complain
- 10:22Speaker 2: about this game for a second. They started a quarterback
- 10:24Speaker 2: at Ohio State who was their second string guy this
- 10:27Speaker 2: whole year because they're starting quarterback transferred to Syracuse, went
- 10:31Speaker 2: to Portal. So he plays number thirty three, by the way,
- 10:33Speaker 2: which is odd. It's like something I would do in Madden.
- 10:36Speaker 2: And he hurts his ankle and like the second series,
- 10:39Speaker 2: so they got the third string quarterback in. He apparently
- 10:42Speaker 2: can't throw. I think he's just a body with no arms.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So Missouri is just stack in the box. I did
- 10:51Speaker 2: leave right before the half was over, so they may
- 10:53Speaker 2: have scored. I do not know, but the score was
- 10:56Speaker 2: three to nothing. When I left three to nothing Ohio State.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I did think that Missouri, who has pretty much most
- 11:05Speaker 2: of their team, I thought they'd score some points. I
- 11:09Speaker 2: thought they'd want the game more, because that matters these
- 11:13Speaker 2: bowl games. It's three zero at halftime and I bet
- 11:17Speaker 2: the over. So I'm watching and I'm going this is
- 11:20Speaker 2: gonna be a good one finally, but bowl games suck.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It's gotta be what NBA fans feel like when they're
- 11:27Speaker 2: watching college basketball because it's slow, it's the second string quarterback,
- 11:34Speaker 2: it's none of the or it's very few of the
- 11:39Speaker 2: NFL prospects, and you're just going this bad. It's real
- 11:48Speaker 2: bad because nobody wants to play in a bowl game
- 11:54Speaker 2: because if you're real good, you're probably going to the NFL.
- 11:58Speaker 2: You're gonna opt out. I mean, as long as you're
- 12:00Speaker 2: not a freshman, you gotta play. You have two years,
- 12:05Speaker 2: three years and out of high school, or you're transferring.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I mean, this is why the playoff, though, needs to
- 12:14Speaker 2: be bigger, and that's why I'm excited that it is
- 12:17Speaker 2: next year, because it sucks because nobody wants to play
- 12:19Speaker 2: in it or people are leaving. The two things that
- 12:21Speaker 2: aren't happening to the teams right now for the most part,
- 12:24Speaker 2: that are in the playoff is that everybody wants to
- 12:27Speaker 2: play in it, and nobody's leaving yet until it's over.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So when it's sixteen teams, well, twelve next year, but
- 12:36Speaker 2: it will be sixteen eventually. Obviously, when it's twelve teams,
- 12:41Speaker 2: When it's sixteen teams, please God, let it be thirty
- 12:44Speaker 2: two teams, you're gonna have players playing players, caring games
- 12:52Speaker 2: more realistic, like the NFL playoffs. You're gonna have more
- 12:56Speaker 2: teams in it near the end of the season, which
- 12:57Speaker 2: is gonna be so exciting. Loss isn't gonna ruin a team.
- 13:02Speaker 2: That means they can schedule non conference games that actually matter,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and everybody's not playing Louisiana Trudeau State University. So I'm
- 13:13Speaker 2: excited about the longer playoff. I think it's exciting. I'm excited,
- 13:19Speaker 2: so it's exciting. But the ball game sucked. The highlight
- 13:25Speaker 2: of all the ball games so far has been the
- 13:27Speaker 2: pop Tart going down into the machine in his costume,
- 13:32Speaker 2: in him coming out the bottom, and then the player's
- 13:34Speaker 2: eating him. Maybe that was Kansas State. I don't even remember.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I know Kansas State won because I bet some money
- 13:43Speaker 2: on that game. I know Oklahoma lost because I bet
- 13:46Speaker 2: some money on that game. And I watched the Arizona
- 13:49Speaker 2: quarterback just run wild and shout out to the Arizona quarterback,
- 13:52Speaker 2: the second string quarterback who lost his job to the
- 13:55Speaker 2: starting quarterback, but still was like that dude, like pumping
- 13:58Speaker 2: him up. For sure, he's getting into the if he
- 14:00Speaker 2: hasn't already. I don't follow Arizona football enough, but their
- 14:04Speaker 2: quarterback is awesome, and their backup quarterback like that's like
- 14:09Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts type stuff as far as like character because
- 14:12Speaker 2: he was on the sideline going crazy like in a
- 14:14Speaker 2: great way. So ballgames sucked, So we need these ball
- 14:22Speaker 2: games to all be sort of playoff games or nobody's
- 14:26Speaker 2: gonna play in them. To me, ball games are starting
- 14:29Speaker 2: to feel like I felt with baseball about eight or
- 14:31Speaker 2: nine years ago. Freaking love baseball. It's my favorite sport.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Well for my life. If I were to pick a
- 14:38Speaker 2: sport that my life, If I were to go most
- 14:41Speaker 2: of my life, what was my favorite sport, It's probably baseball.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I was probably the best at it. High school accolades
- 14:47Speaker 2: are fake, who cares? But I was a pretty good
- 14:51Speaker 2: high school player, played travel teams. I was just a
- 14:57Speaker 2: I wasn't good enough to be anything in college or anything.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Probably could have walked on and then got cut. But
- 15:04Speaker 2: I always loved baseball. It was left handed as first basement,
- 15:07Speaker 2: had no power, so my career was not going to
- 15:10Speaker 2: be long. But eight or nine years ago baseball started
- 15:15Speaker 2: to suck. And I don't know if it was a
- 15:19Speaker 2: mixture of after steroids, years, games staying long get in longer,
- 15:31Speaker 2: or baseball staying the same, and everything else sped up
- 15:34Speaker 2: a bit, meaning our at tensions. Fans got shorter shows
- 15:36Speaker 2: with shorter Netflix. We need it now, it's on demand,
- 15:38Speaker 2: TikTok fifteen seconds, and it's yeah that either way. Baseball
- 15:46Speaker 2: started to get boring. And I can still watch it
- 15:49Speaker 2: if the Cubs were playing, unless it was there a
- 15:53Speaker 2: fifth man in rotation. And I can still watch it
- 15:57Speaker 2: if it were the playoffs. But baseball was getting boring
- 16:00Speaker 2: and I was catching myself just not caring as much more.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And that's how I feel about ball games. And if
- 16:08Speaker 2: they don't catch themselves, which I do think eventually, it'll
- 16:13Speaker 2: catch itself. The great thing about having a market that
- 16:20Speaker 2: gets to set itself up for success is that it
- 16:22Speaker 2: gets to have ratings and revenue, and as soon as
- 16:26Speaker 2: it starts to trickle down, you know things will change.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I haven't seen the ratings. Football still rates wonderfully. NFL
- 16:31Speaker 2: is the highest rating thing in the whole world. We're
- 16:33Speaker 2: not talking about the NFL right now, but the ballgame
- 16:38Speaker 2: suck like I don't even care until it gets to
- 16:40Speaker 2: the final four. Can you imagine how exciting it's going
- 16:43Speaker 2: to be next year when there are twelve teams playing
- 16:45Speaker 2: in this thing. It's freaking awesome. And don't give me
- 16:53Speaker 2: the I like the tradition of it, that's all gone
- 16:56Speaker 2: because tradition is boring. For the sacred tradition in Il's
- 17:01Speaker 2: running football. Yeah, but these establishments are making billions of
- 17:06Speaker 2: dollars and the people that are working aren't getting Oh sorry,
- 17:10Speaker 2: the coaches are millions of dollar, sure, but the student
- 17:14Speaker 2: athletes are not getting paid, which they absolutely should be.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Or or let's say you're a traditionalist, you're a big
- 17:23Speaker 2: fan of Harvard forty seven their football team, and forty
- 17:26Speaker 2: seven other helmets. I got it. Then they shouldn't have
- 17:31Speaker 2: rules on the kids not being able to go play
- 17:35Speaker 2: pro ball, because that's essentially what's happening. If you're really
- 17:40Speaker 2: good at football and you're nineteen years old, you're not
- 17:44Speaker 2: allowed to play in the NFL, So you can't make
- 17:48Speaker 2: money playing football something you're really good at. If you're
- 17:50Speaker 2: nineteen and you want to play basketball, go do a
- 17:54Speaker 2: year in college, go to the NBA, Go do a
- 17:59Speaker 2: year a two year g league, Go to the NBA.
- 18:04Speaker 2: How about baseball? How about soccer? Every other sport. You
- 18:07Speaker 2: can go pro when you're eighteen, nineteen seventeen tennis, sixteen golf.
- 18:15Speaker 2: But everybody's all bud hurt because these athletes are now
- 18:18Speaker 2: getting paid. They should get paid. They're making a business
- 18:22Speaker 2: money and if these football players could, some of them
- 18:26Speaker 2: would go play in the NFL. But the system is broken.
- 18:31Speaker 2: But here's the thing, and here's why I love it
- 18:32Speaker 2: so much right now, because it's got to really break
- 18:35Speaker 2: itself before somebody comes in to fix it. There needs
- 18:38Speaker 2: to be regulation. Absolutely, there's a regulation in the NFL.
- 18:44Speaker 2: We know how much people are making. There's regulation with
- 18:47Speaker 2: the NFL, and who when Roger Goodell he's the commissioner.
- 18:50Speaker 2: There's no head of college football, which is great. So
- 18:55Speaker 2: we need root for this thing to get as absolutely
- 18:57Speaker 2: as wild west as possible because it's I'm not gonna
- 19:00Speaker 2: fix itself and get to a place where at least
- 19:03Speaker 2: there are some parameters there, at least there are some rules,
- 19:05Speaker 2: at least there's some understanding of the rails that we're on.
- 19:10Speaker 2: It's not gonna fix itself until it just totally runs
- 19:12Speaker 2: off the rails and crashes, and that's what I root for.
- 19:19Speaker 2: But there's a type of person that we'll hear music
- 19:22Speaker 2: and go that ain't that ain't country music When they
- 19:26Speaker 2: hear a song, if the song's got like some sort
- 19:29Speaker 2: of some sort of beat, that ain't country music, or
- 19:33Speaker 2: electric that ain't country music. There's that person, right which
- 19:38Speaker 2: who is the most annoying person in the history of Earth,
- 19:40Speaker 2: because every great country artist, their music has been not
- 19:46Speaker 2: country music at one point by the same exact type
- 19:49Speaker 2: of person. Like, the only thing that has not changed
- 19:52Speaker 2: is that idiots keep going on with that ain't country music.
- 19:54Speaker 2: But you can talk to any of them that are
- 19:56Speaker 2: still alive. Now you're gonna go out to Garth, you
- 20:02Speaker 2: wanna go talk to Kenny Luke. I mean, you may
- 20:07Speaker 2: not think some of the stuff's country music, and I
- 20:10Speaker 2: don't care if you don't think it's for you and
- 20:12Speaker 2: your type of country music. But if you're like, that's
- 20:15Speaker 2: not country music, you're wrong because everybody's been wrong for
- 20:20Speaker 2: the history of time for saying that. For example, I
- 20:23Speaker 2: could go Garth Brooks. Sure, I've talked to Garth about
- 20:26Speaker 2: it many times. He's constantly told he wasn't country music.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Kenny Rogers, but you understand, Kenny Rodgers was like he
- 20:32Speaker 2: was in a pop like a rock band, right, Kenny Rogers,
- 20:35Speaker 2: How about Dolly that's not country music? No, she does
- 20:38Speaker 2: pop music too, and acting, And do you want to
- 20:42Speaker 2: do like all the outlaw country? Do you want to
- 20:46Speaker 2: go back to Bob Wills? And the first time they
- 20:50Speaker 2: put an amplifier on a steal guitar, people wanted to
- 20:54Speaker 2: burn the place down because they're like, that's not country
- 20:57Speaker 2: because they wanted to amplify a steel guitar. But there's
- 21:01Speaker 2: always been that that's not country person, and now the
- 21:04Speaker 2: person is out. Like college football, it is not for me.
- 21:06Speaker 2: This ain't college football. They shouldn't get paid. This ain't
- 21:09Speaker 2: college football. Well, if we do like country music and
- 21:15Speaker 2: look back at what's happened over time, a very similar outrage,
- 21:20Speaker 2: except there was no social media, there was no Internet,
- 21:27Speaker 2: but to scale, a very similar outrage happened when they
- 21:29Speaker 2: started giving scholarships to players who are playing on teams.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Because they should just play for the love of the game.
- 21:39Speaker 2: They're playing for their school. We can't believe they're actually
- 21:41Speaker 2: getting a financial benefit for playing sports. We like our
- 21:44Speaker 2: college athletics. How it used to be where they didn't
- 21:46Speaker 2: get scholarships. That's how it used to be too. It
- 21:50Speaker 2: is a cycle. And you can't tell me that you're
- 21:56Speaker 2: a capitalist at all if you think that people working
- 22:00Speaker 2: shouldn't be able to get paid something near the value
- 22:08Speaker 2: that they are showing their worth for of the und
- 22:11Speaker 2: and I forgot. That's where I was ended with a preposition.
- 22:17Speaker 2: If I'm able to show you that I'm this good
- 22:19Speaker 2: and work in your organization that is this good and
- 22:22Speaker 2: make you this much money, I shouldn't make thirty thousand
- 22:25Speaker 2: dollars a year. Let's say Walmart in Michigan are the
- 22:31Speaker 2: same thing. If I'm able to go and work as
- 22:34Speaker 2: an executive in Walmart second or third I don't even
- 22:39Speaker 2: know what the command is c WO chief Walmart officer
- 22:43Speaker 2: right below the CEO, I prove that I am so
- 22:46Speaker 2: valuable to Walmart. Well, they're not going to give me
- 22:49Speaker 2: the same amount of money they're going to give someone
- 22:51Speaker 2: that well did what I used to do, which is
- 22:53Speaker 2: work at the register. No, they're going to give you
- 22:57Speaker 2: based on the value of the job that you're doing
- 22:59Speaker 2: in the position that you're filling. Are you successful at it? Okay,
- 23:06Speaker 2: you're making the company a lot of money. They're forty
- 23:07Speaker 2: three paid this percentage. Well, how come a nineteen year
- 23:09Speaker 2: old playing football does it get to have that same luxury?
- 23:11Speaker 2: But because in nineteen forty one somebody said the scholarships only?
- 23:15Speaker 2: Is that why? NFL fans It is time to unwrap

- 24:20Speaker 2: lot of us hang on tradition because we're used to it,
- 24:23Speaker 2: and what we're used to is comfortable, and we don't
- 24:25Speaker 2: like things that make us uncomfortable. But let's say Michigan.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Let's say you're a starting running back from Michigan, one
- 24:34Speaker 2: of the top recruits, and Michigan goes they're twelve and one.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You shouldn't make the same amount that they're running back
- 24:49Speaker 2: at Louisiana Alcatraz University makes, should you? I mean, the
- 24:55Speaker 2: programs have such disparity and the amount of money they're
- 24:59Speaker 2: bringing again based on the success of the coach, who
- 25:01Speaker 2: gets the players, who get the wins, who create the
- 25:08Speaker 2: value altogether. But it'll fix itself. Bowl games are terrible,
- 25:16Speaker 2: but it'll fix itself. The playoffs going to be awesome,
- 25:19Speaker 2: and that could fix a lot of the bowl game issues.
- 25:21Speaker 2: At least some of them. We'll go from what three
- 25:24Speaker 2: because it's two and then one. That's three total. But
- 25:27Speaker 2: I don't think the National Championship game is actually a
- 25:29Speaker 2: ball game. The two are bowl games, then a National championship,
- 25:34Speaker 2: but then we turn that into five or then you
- 25:36Speaker 2: have a semi. Let's go pretty cool. I'm excited. I
- 25:43Speaker 2: think we're in a good place because I love mayhem,
- 25:47Speaker 2: which is happening right now with the portal with nil.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Love it because it has to get extremely mayhem and
- 25:57Speaker 2: eggs for anybody to fix it, and that's gonna be
- 26:04Speaker 2: what happens eventually. But I still love it. Anyway. The
- 26:06Speaker 2: game is terribly boring. That's why I came down to
- 26:08Speaker 2: do this podcast. Talk about that. Now I want to
- 26:10Speaker 2: do this commercial. Okay, So something else I wanted to
- 26:15Speaker 2: mention here the Pistons, and I don't know if they
- 26:18Speaker 2: won tonight. Last night they played Boston and they almost
- 26:22Speaker 2: beat Boston, but they have the longest losing streak ever
- 26:25Speaker 2: in the NBA, which is crazy because there is such
- 26:29Speaker 2: a fine line like that, the difference in athletes. It's
- 26:35Speaker 2: so fine that it's crazy a professional team can lose
- 26:39Speaker 2: that many times in a row, especially when the NBA,
- 26:42Speaker 2: where not everybody plays the hardest all the time. So
- 26:47Speaker 2: the Pistons are terrible, right, so they've lost more. They
- 26:54Speaker 2: beat the streak of I think it's a seventy six
- 26:59Speaker 2: ers from like fourteen fifteen. I may have my years wrong,
- 27:03Speaker 2: but what I think happened was that streak, which was
- 27:06Speaker 2: the longest, was split over two years, so it didn't
- 27:10Speaker 2: actually feel like the longest. It felt like there's a
- 27:12Speaker 2: pretty long one, and then you go home, you go
- 27:16Speaker 2: for a lunch break, you come back, finish your day.
- 27:18Speaker 2: But that's the next year. Some players are new, some aren't.
- 27:24Speaker 2: That's a bad one. Twenty eight or twenty not, whatever
- 27:27Speaker 2: it is. Now, man, that is a bad that's a bad, bad,
- 27:30Speaker 2: bad streak. Kind of hilarious in modern day because you
- 27:34Speaker 2: just think a pro athlete, again, they're not that different.
- 27:40Speaker 2: It's a very very slim margin from a great player
- 27:44Speaker 2: to a really good player to a good player. I
- 27:48Speaker 2: was with Jerry Jones and he was telling me how
- 27:50Speaker 2: in the NFL, how these really bad teams sometimes will
- 27:52Speaker 2: creep up and beat the good teams in the NFL. NFL,
- 27:54Speaker 2: and because the parody is because there's just such a
- 27:56Speaker 2: fine line, like you could be a great player and
- 27:59Speaker 2: be a little off and you're just a fine player,
- 28:01Speaker 2: and they're fine players on every team. I looked up
- 28:06Speaker 2: what was the longest winning streak in sporting history. I
- 28:12Speaker 2: don't know anything about this sport. I'm gonna pronounce the
- 28:16Speaker 2: name wrong, but I'm gonna try. Jahangir Khan, his five
- 28:22Speaker 2: hundred and fifty five match record, is officially recognized as
- 28:25Speaker 2: the longest sporting win streak of all time. Widely regarded
- 28:28Speaker 2: as the greatest squash player ever, he won the first
- 28:31Speaker 2: of the five hundred and fifty five games when he
- 28:34Speaker 2: was seventeen in nineteen eighty one. I have no idea
- 28:38Speaker 2: how to even understand that streak because I do not know.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I think it's I think it's racketball. I think squash
- 28:50Speaker 2: is racketball basically, and five hundred and fifty five. But
- 28:55Speaker 2: who's he playing? Who else in this league? Is it?
- 28:59Speaker 2: John Henri and me and Eddie? Of course he's gonna
- 29:03Speaker 2: win all the games, And I'm probably so wrong about this.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I'm sure squash is like at this massive sport, but
- 29:10Speaker 2: I can't really understand. I wish it were an American streak,
- 29:13Speaker 2: so at least I can understand it. Like the cal
- 29:14Speaker 2: Ripken consecutive games. I understand that streak. That's cool because
- 29:19Speaker 2: I got to watch that one. He just showed up.
- 29:24Speaker 2: He beat lou Garry the Iron Horse, just showed up
- 29:28Speaker 2: game after game. Some of the other most entertaining, most
- 29:34Speaker 2: interesting streaks. And I'll talk about American sports only because
- 29:39Speaker 2: I'm sure I could get you with some sort of lacrosse.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I think that might be American though. Squash mm hmm.
- 29:51Speaker 2: What's the one where they take the ball and they
- 29:54Speaker 2: like it looks like fast pitched softball, and they take
- 29:56Speaker 2: the stick and they swing and the ball can hit
- 29:59Speaker 2: the ground. Then it's got to hit the stick behind it. Stanley,
- 30:04Speaker 2: do you know what it is? Game with stick and balls?
- 30:11Speaker 2: It's not cur plunk, it's not lacrosse, it's not croquet.
- 30:24Speaker 2: And I know a lot of people are yelling at
- 30:26Speaker 2: me because I think I it's not hurling. It's not
- 30:34Speaker 2: stickball outdoor game. Okay, game with sticks and balls. Let's
- 30:43Speaker 2: try this. Let's just Google search popular sport in Australia. Okay, soccer, Okay,
- 30:57Speaker 2: here are the most popular sports in Australia. Walking, swimming
- 31:00Speaker 2: in Jim, cricket. It's cricket, Stanley. It's cricket, buddy. We
- 31:07Speaker 2: got it, we got it. It's cricket, buddy. I found
- 31:12Speaker 2: Stanley's spot. I call it his b spot. He's a bulldog.
- 31:17Speaker 2: He's got the spot like inside of his tail. And
- 31:19Speaker 2: if I grab it and like pinch it, it's his
- 31:21Speaker 2: favorite thing. I'm gonna do that. He does that, right, buddy, Yeah? Yeah?
- 31:32Speaker 2: Can you speak? Can you speak and let him hear you?
- 31:36Speaker 2: Can you speak? No, you want to speak? You speak?
- 31:42Speaker 2: Can you speak, buddy speak? I hear you. I don't
- 31:47Speaker 2: know he does that like one out of three times. Cricket.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Cricket's a sport. But I found American sports that we
- 31:57Speaker 2: would know. Clemson basketballs oh and fifty seven record at
- 32:02Speaker 2: North Carolina that sucks. And some of these may be
- 32:10Speaker 2: uh not streaks anymore, if or not, I don't know. Congratulations.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I don't really want to hear the messages. Correct to me.
- 32:19Speaker 2: You can, I'm just not gonna beat like hurt by it.
- 32:22Speaker 2: I'll go thank oh, thank you for that. But most
- 32:24Speaker 2: times when people want to correct someone, it's to actually
- 32:26Speaker 2: show superiority. But I'd be like, oh, thank you for that,
- 32:28Speaker 2: because I googled a few things, which was streaks, funny streaks,
- 32:32Speaker 2: American streaks, interesting streaks, and sports. D LASL High School
- 32:37Speaker 2: holds the nation record one hundred and fifty one high
- 32:40Speaker 2: school football games one hundred and fifty one game winning
- 32:43Speaker 2: streak from nineteen ninety two to two thousand and four.
- 32:46Speaker 2: The streak occurred unto the leadership of Bob lade Cure,
- 32:50Speaker 2: who began coaching at the high school in nineteen seventy nine.
- 32:53Speaker 2: It ended when they were defeated on September fourth, two
- 32:55Speaker 2: thousand and four by Bellevue High School. Outside of Seattle,
- 33:00Speaker 2: we lets Ol High School is in Concord, California. Shout
- 33:03Speaker 2: out ninety two to two thousand and four. I wonder
- 33:11Speaker 2: what pros they put in the league or if there
- 33:14Speaker 2: were any. Chris Dudley had thirteen straight miss free throws. Hilarious.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Played in the NBA sixteen years. He's a center, obviously
- 33:27Speaker 2: well not a good free throw shooter, but wasn't dreadful
- 33:30Speaker 2: in that he should miss sixteen or excuse me, thirteen
- 33:32Speaker 2: in a row. He shot forty six percent from the line,
- 33:36Speaker 2: so that's basically a fifty percent but he missed thirteen
- 33:40Speaker 2: straight free throws. I think if you put a blindfold
- 33:44Speaker 2: on me. Now I'm not comparing myself to Chris Dudley
- 33:48Speaker 2: or being an arena with fans, or but I think
- 33:50Speaker 2: if you put a blindfold on me and pointed me
- 33:54Speaker 2: in the direction and let me shoot one, I don't
- 33:58Speaker 2: have to make it, but let me shoot one without
- 34:00Speaker 2: the blindfold, I think I can make one of the thirteen.
- 34:06Speaker 2: But that's pretty funny. Cal Tech men's basketball losing streak
- 34:11Speaker 2: was two hundred and seven straight games ninety six and
- 34:20Speaker 2: two thousand and seven. What it's like Division nine. That
- 34:29Speaker 2: is wild. Anthony Young had twenty seven consecutive losing decisions
- 34:34Speaker 2: in baseball. And I do believe that Anthony Young was
- 34:37Speaker 2: a cup for a while, is why I know him.
- 34:39Speaker 2: But this happened when he was with the Mets. Twenty
- 34:44Speaker 2: seven consecutive losing decisions, and there was a one point
- 34:48Speaker 2: where he was like he had like thirteen or fourteen
- 34:51Speaker 2: like shutout innings in a row. Obviously it didn't go
- 34:55Speaker 2: like nine and four, like nine innings and four innings
- 34:58Speaker 2: and nine ings fins. But and he's still lost those games.
- 35:03Speaker 2: So Pistons start your engines. That thing just checking back
- 35:11Speaker 2: in Ohio state up three zero on Missouri. Oh so stupid.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Say if the Pistons A we've been playing they are
- 35:24Speaker 2: not all right? A couple other things, and then I
- 35:30Speaker 2: can wrap this up. I just had a lot. I
- 35:31Speaker 2: had a lot of notes that I wanted to get through,
- 35:34Speaker 2: so I could just take them off my sheet. Have
- 35:35Speaker 2: a sheet of notes, and they stay on my note
- 35:39Speaker 2: of a to do list, a sheet of notes, a
- 35:41Speaker 2: check sheet, and until I get it done, it stays there.
- 35:44Speaker 2: And it stays until I talk about it or go
- 35:46Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about it stays up, or
- 35:48Speaker 2: until I complete the list from the to do list,
- 35:52Speaker 2: or I decide I'm never going to do it, it stays up.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I wrote this from the break nd season Tournament championship.
- 36:00Speaker 2: So we watched the NC tournament. That was fun. Go Lakers,
- 36:04Speaker 2: it's fine whatever. But I watched them like hang the banner,
- 36:09Speaker 2: which is fine whatever. I don't care. I'm not going
- 36:13Speaker 2: to be angry at you celebrating something that's cool. A
- 36:15Speaker 2: lot of the players that don't make a bunch of
- 36:16Speaker 2: well everybody makes a good amount of money relatively speaking,
- 36:19Speaker 2: but they got an extra five hundred thousand bucks. It's
- 36:21Speaker 2: pretty cool. Second place got two hundred thousand. I think
- 36:23Speaker 2: each each player on the team. But I did think
- 36:27Speaker 2: that the banner maybe wasn't the best way to do
- 36:30Speaker 2: it because people were just gonna be hating a whole
- 36:34Speaker 2: lot because it was up there next to the championship
- 36:36Speaker 2: banners like the real ones. So I would propose, if
- 36:41Speaker 2: I were the commissioner, that we don't hang banners for
- 36:44Speaker 2: the midseason tournament. We give the team a championship belt,
- 36:49Speaker 2: and you get to put the championship belt somewhere in
- 36:53Speaker 2: the arena, and then like every home game on a set,
- 36:57Speaker 2: every Saturday home game, you come out with it or something.
- 37:02Speaker 2: We need to get into the championship belt here. It's
- 37:03Speaker 2: not big enough to have a banner in my opinion,
- 37:06Speaker 2: if it's up next to the championship banners, because haters
- 37:08Speaker 2: are gonna hate. But I think a championship belt would
- 37:14Speaker 2: be so legit for that tournament, both novel everybody taking
- 37:19Speaker 2: pictures of the championship belt in the trophy. That'd be
- 37:23Speaker 2: pretty cool. I've been spending the last couple of weeks
- 37:27Speaker 2: editing my comedy special, which has been a bit of
- 37:33Speaker 2: a nightmare for me because I just hate myself of
- 37:39Speaker 2: a really good director producer. Luckily I respect her. I
- 37:46Speaker 2: got a lot of people asking me, what are you
- 37:47Speaker 2: gonna do? When's it coming out? What's the deal? There
- 37:51Speaker 2: is no answer right now, because I'm not done with
- 37:57Speaker 2: it yet. We're done touring, we're done shooting it. Just
- 38:00Speaker 2: full disclosure. Probably, I'm gonna say probably because we didn't
- 38:10Speaker 2: get any long conversations with any of the streamers. I
- 38:14Speaker 2: probably could have sold the special and let one of
- 38:18Speaker 2: the streamers have it, and they would have paid me
- 38:27Speaker 2: one hundred thousand dollars. But they'd owned it right and
- 38:32Speaker 2: they could do whatever they wanted to do with it.
- 38:33Speaker 2: They could put it out, they could not put it out,
- 38:35Speaker 2: they could shelve it, they could cut some stuff if whatever.
- 38:40Speaker 2: It's not like I'm that funny anyway. I'm pretty funny,
- 38:43Speaker 2: but I don't try to do all funny, right. It's
- 38:45Speaker 2: called comedically inspirational. So I thought, well, my whole career,
- 38:51Speaker 2: I've kind of had to figure crap out myself and
- 38:53Speaker 2: do it differently because I'm not that good, but I'm
- 38:57Speaker 2: really good at doing me. So instead of take what
- 39:03Speaker 2: was probably the easy but not good for my creative
- 39:09Speaker 2: soul money. I just financed the whole thing myself, and
- 39:14Speaker 2: I think I paid like eighty or ninety thousand dollars,
- 39:16Speaker 2: and we shot a few different shows, and I didn't
- 39:18Speaker 2: try to act like it was one show. A lot
- 39:19Speaker 2: of comedians and I would do the same thing if
- 39:21Speaker 2: I were a real comedian, because you made the audience
- 39:23Speaker 2: could even screw up a joke. You wear the same
- 39:25Speaker 2: clothes for a couple of shows. Sometimes you doing back
- 39:27Speaker 2: to back, and you take the best of those two
- 39:29Speaker 2: and you make it look like one show. I didn't
- 39:30Speaker 2: do that. I went to a bunch different cities, did
- 39:31Speaker 2: a bunch of different kinds of jokes, and we're just
- 39:34Speaker 2: kind of making a special out of it. And hopefully
- 39:36Speaker 2: what I think can happen is if I spend let's
- 39:39Speaker 2: just say I spent eighty thousand on it, because of
- 39:41Speaker 2: what the production would have been to shoot the special
- 39:44Speaker 2: for the streamers, let's say it we're just going to
- 39:46Speaker 2: be three hundred thousand. Hopefully I can shoot it for
- 39:49Speaker 2: eighty and make three hundred and get them to pay
- 39:52Speaker 2: me three hundred and fifty thousand. Therefore me taking a risk,
- 39:56Speaker 2: but making more money on the what the process, and
- 40:01Speaker 2: also giving more money to my team because not only they,
- 40:05Speaker 2: I let them have ownership, the people that I brought
- 40:07Speaker 2: along with me have some ownership of the show, at
- 40:10Speaker 2: least that my my director does, my director producer. So
- 40:17Speaker 2: been doing that. I got a weird call from and
- 40:24Speaker 2: I say weird because it doesn't really happen like this,
- 40:25Speaker 2: from a TV network saying, hey, we like you to
- 40:27Speaker 2: host a certain show. Never heard of the show. It's
- 40:33Speaker 2: kind of like a special thing, but not a comedy
- 40:36Speaker 2: special so network. I can't say much else about it.
- 40:40Speaker 2: But usually I have to, like know somebody have developed
- 40:43Speaker 2: a relationship in some way, worked with them in another capacity,
- 40:47Speaker 2: They've seen me. It's always something. But I got a
- 40:52Speaker 2: call out of the blue going hey, we would love
- 40:56Speaker 2: and there's a specific person who said that they would
- 40:58Speaker 2: love to work with me. And I was like, what now.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I do not know if this is gonna come to fruition.
- 41:05Speaker 2: But when I got the call, I was like, are
- 41:06Speaker 2: you serious? Because it never it never happens like that.
- 41:09Speaker 2: But I kind of just dgaf anymore. I mean, for
- 41:12Speaker 2: the first time in my life, I am actually just
- 41:15Speaker 2: doing the things that I want to do. Like, my
- 41:17Speaker 2: favorite thing in the whole world to do is the
- 41:18Speaker 2: radio show. Still. I just wish it wasn't in the morning.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I can go back to the body clock talk earlier,
- 41:22Speaker 2: but it's still my favorite thing to do. And so
- 41:25Speaker 2: as long as I can keep that being successful, which
- 41:28Speaker 2: right now, knock on wood, it's more successful than it's
- 41:33Speaker 2: ever been in the history of the show, and I
- 41:35Speaker 2: know that's not always gonna last, right, So I'm saving
- 41:37Speaker 2: up my walnuts till winter comes. I've been trying. I've
- 41:39Speaker 2: been doing that forever. But I'm also not taking every
- 41:42Speaker 2: single job anymore. Like I would get offered, Hey, come over,
- 41:45Speaker 2: we're gonna do rate my pet dating contest. I'd be like, okay,
- 41:49Speaker 2: I'll audition for that. So I'm flying all over the
- 41:52Speaker 2: country audition of a crap not getting it. Or I'm
- 41:56Speaker 2: doing these one offs that I have no interest because like,
- 41:59Speaker 2: if you do this one and off and you go
- 42:01Speaker 2: do this then someone and then it never turns in anything,
- 42:05Speaker 2: or let's develop this. So twenty twenty three, I just
- 42:09Speaker 2: stopped doing that if it wasn't fun for me. At
- 42:16Speaker 2: this point, when I've run myself completely raw, I'm just
- 42:20Speaker 2: like you know, I'm gonna see what I like here.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I'm just gonna do things I like. So I made
- 42:25Speaker 2: up the too Much Access thing literally as just as
- 42:28Speaker 2: just a a fantasy like camp, adult fantasy camp to
- 42:37Speaker 2: where it's like, I think any of us there are
- 42:39Speaker 2: sports fans. You always want to know what it was
- 42:41Speaker 2: like to play sports, or to go to your favorite
- 42:43Speaker 2: college go to, or to hang out with the coach
- 42:45Speaker 2: or to. And so we were and we're doing this,
- 42:48Speaker 2: you know, twenty five Whistles show for DraftKings, and I
- 42:54Speaker 2: was like, well, we can just go do interviews and
- 42:56Speaker 2: we'll just shoot some video and we'll see if we
- 42:57Speaker 2: can make that a show. And god dang, we did.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I think we've done thirteen or fourteen episodes. Now we've
- 43:04Speaker 2: got four that we haven't even put out yet. And
- 43:09Speaker 2: I'd like to thank Super Coffee They've been a great
- 43:12Speaker 2: sponsor all of twenty twenty three for helping us get
- 43:17Speaker 2: that thing going, and Charlie Hustle for sending us the
- 43:21Speaker 2: clothes and helping us too, because that again, I funded
- 43:24Speaker 2: that whole thing by myself and then paid all the
- 43:26Speaker 2: guys separately. But to me, that risk is worth it
- 43:30Speaker 2: because like that's something I wanted to do. Now. Twice
- 43:36Speaker 2: two different entities have offered to buy the show, but
- 43:40Speaker 2: not for much as in it. We're like, hey, we
- 43:44Speaker 2: will take it, and you will put it on so
- 43:46Speaker 2: and so Plus Network, not Disney Plus, because you better
- 43:50Speaker 2: believe they're going to offer me that. I'll be doing
- 43:52Speaker 2: that tomorrow. But there we go to this, but then
- 43:56Speaker 2: I don't have any control over it at all, and
- 44:00Speaker 2: I'm only doing it because I love it, and so
- 44:02Speaker 2: I don't want to not love it. So because if
- 44:04Speaker 2: I don't love it, I don't I'll still work as hard,
- 44:07Speaker 2: but I'm not gonna work as happy. And if I'm
- 44:09Speaker 2: not working hard and happy, this is not gonna be
- 44:13Speaker 2: as good because the passion's not there. And that's what
- 44:17Speaker 2: I advise people a lot. It's like fine, and it's
- 44:21Speaker 2: such a cliche thing to say because you can't always
- 44:23Speaker 2: do it exactly, but find something you love to do,
- 44:27Speaker 2: even if it's a side hustle, even if it's a
- 44:30Speaker 2: third side hustle, because if you love to do it,
- 44:33Speaker 2: you're going to do it so much more passionate, or
- 44:37Speaker 2: you're going to put real time and effort into it
- 44:39Speaker 2: because you love it. So much for no other reason
- 44:41Speaker 2: that could just that you love it. I would have
- 44:44Speaker 2: done radio, which when I started radio, which is really radio,
- 44:48Speaker 2: although we were podcasting way early. I would have done
- 44:52Speaker 2: that for ever, for no money, because I already had
- 44:55Speaker 2: no money. And then I would have been like a
- 44:58Speaker 2: teacher or something. But that had been like my side
- 45:01Speaker 2: hustle because I just loved it so much. But because
- 45:03Speaker 2: I loved it so much, I think I got good
- 45:06Speaker 2: at it and I believed in myself. So that's what
- 45:12Speaker 2: I'm doing now in my career here, even with this show.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I don't have to do this show, but I love sports,
- 45:19Speaker 2: have a history of doing sports talk. Have a bulldog
- 45:22Speaker 2: that's snoring. Thank you. I don't know if you guys
- 45:27Speaker 2: can hear it. If you can't hear the bulldog, please
- 45:29Speaker 2: let me know. Just send me a DM or a tweet. Now,
- 45:35Speaker 2: there's still some stuff I have to do that I
- 45:36Speaker 2: don't like to do. We all have to do that.
- 45:38Speaker 2: But I'm advising you all to find something that you
- 45:40Speaker 2: love to do that you could turn at some point
- 45:45Speaker 2: into something that you can monetize. Doesn't he have to
- 45:48Speaker 2: be right now? That's me syndicating in my show. I
- 45:55Speaker 2: was broke. I spent all my money on stupid equipment
- 45:57Speaker 2: that I didn't really know if it would work, and
- 45:59Speaker 2: it didn't for a while, and then shout out which
- 46:00Speaker 2: talk Kansas, God, dang. I'm telling you. My advice is,
- 46:04Speaker 2: find something you love to do, even if it's something
- 46:06Speaker 2: that you're doing an hour a week, even if it's
- 46:08Speaker 2: a your You want to be an influencer that's not
- 46:12Speaker 2: an Instagram influencing or TikTok influencing or social media influencing
- 46:19Speaker 2: is not as lame as it used to be, meaning
- 46:23Speaker 2: the acceptance of it. I would compare it to dating
- 46:25Speaker 2: on apps, because there was a point when you date
- 46:27Speaker 2: on an app or eHarmony or whatever you be like,
- 46:30Speaker 2: oh we met on a dating app. Now everybody'd be
- 46:32Speaker 2: talk dating app. Well, now a lot of people are influencing,
- 46:35Speaker 2: and it's just that term. The word influencer just feels
- 46:38Speaker 2: lame YouTuber. It's not, though, it's just content freaking creator, Like,
- 46:45Speaker 2: find that thing, find that thing that you can do well,
- 46:48Speaker 2: you'll never make a penny off of it, but you'll
- 46:52Speaker 2: do it to the best of your ability because you
- 46:53Speaker 2: love it so much. And if you do that, ah,
- 46:56Speaker 2: I think you can find a way to supplement your
- 47:00Speaker 2: income to the point where you have to make a
- 47:02Speaker 2: difficult decision, and that difficult decision is don't want to
- 47:04Speaker 2: do this full time. And that's the greatest decision you
- 47:05Speaker 2: ever get to make in your life because it's sacrifice
- 47:07Speaker 2: and it's risky, but it's a reward. But that's what
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'm doing in my career now. I just do stuff
- 47:16Speaker 2: I wanted to do macro. There's still a lot of
- 47:20Speaker 2: bull crap I have to do as part of my
- 47:21Speaker 2: job micro, but macro, my favorite thing is the radio show.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I've been very fortunate to be able to do it
- 47:29Speaker 2: with people that I picked and to do it my way,
- 47:34Speaker 2: and not because my way was better, but I think
- 47:37Speaker 2: nobody cared for long enough that nobody watched or monitored.
- 47:43Speaker 2: And then I had a bit of a success story
- 47:45Speaker 2: and they're like, well, we don't really agree or understand
- 47:49Speaker 2: why it's successful, but it is. So let's just let's
- 47:54Speaker 2: just let it go till it fails. And then when
- 47:56Speaker 2: it doesn't fail, you get to keep going. And that's
- 48:02Speaker 2: what happened. I just didn't fail. I read a book
- 48:06Speaker 2: crazy called fail until you don't. But it has really
- 48:10Speaker 2: been fantastic, and I appreciate all of you guys that
- 48:11Speaker 2: listened to this. I don't know if Aymay's listened to
- 48:13Speaker 2: this forty seven minutes in and me talking to just
- 48:15Speaker 2: myself and a snoring bulldog in the background. Again, if
- 48:18Speaker 2: you are, if you're listening at forty seven minutes in,
- 48:20Speaker 2: well they may have put some commercials in so it
- 48:21Speaker 2: could be a little longer than that. Please send me
- 48:23Speaker 2: a message saying I'm listening at forty seven minutes in,
- 48:26Speaker 2: you're a forty seven minute or al Stanley can sleep
- 48:29Speaker 2: with me yelling. I don't know, but I've been doing that.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I encourage you to do the same. I'm doing the
- 48:35Speaker 2: show too much. Access. We got four episodes basketball episodes
- 48:37Speaker 2: we haven't put out yet. We put out one Kansas
- 48:39Speaker 2: State basketball episode. But we have TCU, which is fun.
- 48:45Speaker 2: We have which tall state Arkansas? Or because a woman,
- 48:52Speaker 2: my wife's calling me, hold on hello, I'm recording right
- 48:55Speaker 2: this second. Jimmy, are you do you need me right now?
- 49:01Speaker 2: There's just this thing that keeps going. I heard that.
- 49:04Speaker 2: I think it's the alarm. I'll come up there. It
- 49:07Speaker 2: is the alarm. It says fire trouble, but I've gone
- 49:10Speaker 2: to every single fireplace and they're all turned off. Yeah
- 49:12Speaker 2: it's on a fireplace thing. I'll come up there. Okay,
- 49:16Speaker 2: all right bye, good you guys. I being the man
- 49:20Speaker 2: of the house. Sorry about that. Got some man stuff
- 49:22Speaker 2: to do. So anyway, I got a call for a
- 49:25Speaker 2: TV show and they were like, I want you to
- 49:27Speaker 2: come do it. And I don't know if it'll come
- 49:29Speaker 2: to fruition, like I said earlier, but if it does,
- 49:30Speaker 2: random because it never happens like that, but it's weird
- 49:33Speaker 2: that happens like that. When I finally stop caring about
- 49:34Speaker 2: it happening, but I still care, but I just like,
- 49:36Speaker 2: don't focus on I just I'm like, all my days
- 49:39Speaker 2: and nights are not me going. Oh I sure hope
- 49:41Speaker 2: somebody likes me and hires me because I did that forever,
- 49:44Speaker 2: and I did it forever and I don't read things
- 49:48Speaker 2: ninety nine percent of them. I used to only on
- 49:50Speaker 2: Tuesdays go look at like the Facebook message board of
- 49:53Speaker 2: the show, or go to any sort of message only
- 49:56Speaker 2: on Tuesdays. I used to get on there all the time.
- 49:58Speaker 2: It wasn't good for my mental health. It's only on Tuesdays.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Let's tell my wife about it. She was like, what
- 50:05Speaker 2: might even go on Tuesdays? I'm like, well, I like
- 50:06Speaker 2: to keep up, like keep up with what those places
- 50:08Speaker 2: are only meant for negativity, Like you have to dig
- 50:14Speaker 2: for positivity in the places that you go, which is true,
- 50:18Speaker 2: Which is true. So I do stay on my instream
- 50:21Speaker 2: comments now a little more because it's a little more positive.
- 50:23Speaker 2: But I say, I haven't looked at a single thing
- 50:25Speaker 2: in like a month and a Half's a streak, like
- 50:27Speaker 2: a month and a half to maybe two months. We're
- 50:31Speaker 2: pretty proud of that streak. There's the pistons and there's
- 50:33Speaker 2: me two months. I love signing Day, we just had it.
- 50:37Speaker 2: College athletes hilarious. Now they make the videos I think
- 50:43Speaker 2: Georgia fans. These are notes I have written down. I
- 50:45Speaker 2: think Georgia Bulldog fans are pretty cool. I'm not saying
- 50:48Speaker 2: they're not pretentious, but I think they're pretty cool because
- 50:53Speaker 2: they're not near as pretentious as they should be. They
- 50:57Speaker 2: should be awful to deal with. They should be Alabama.
- 51:01Speaker 2: I love every Alabama fan individually as a unit. Pass
- 51:10Speaker 2: Georgia fan, shout out to you because you are not
- 51:11Speaker 2: near as obnoxies as you could be and should be
- 51:14Speaker 2: and if I were winning national championships like you guys
- 51:16Speaker 2: were two in a row this year, you got screwed
- 51:19Speaker 2: out of be out of the playoff, you wouldn't be
- 51:24Speaker 2: able to deal with me. So shout out to them.
- 51:32Speaker 2: The Pro Bowl is gonna do a whole bunch of
- 51:33Speaker 2: stuff that's like balloon fight, and everybody hates on it.
- 51:38Speaker 2: But here's the thing. Everybody hated on the Pro Bowl anyway,
- 51:42Speaker 2: at least like there was a show like in the
- 51:44Speaker 2: nineties where you do, like the all the quarterback show
- 51:50Speaker 2: up and throw a skills challenge. That's fun. That's super fun.
- 51:52Speaker 2: I like that. I don't care much about the tug
- 51:54Speaker 2: of war. But people only want to say negative things anyway.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Nobody love the Pro Bowl. Nobody's losing out because the
- 52:02Speaker 2: Pro bowls changing. People just want to say something else's land,
- 52:04Speaker 2: which is what they're doing. I think the Pro Bowl.
- 52:06Speaker 2: I like what they're doing. Went to an analogy test.
- 52:12Speaker 2: I don't know if I talked about that, but got
- 52:15Speaker 2: to the front counter and the one recognized me from
- 52:18Speaker 2: the show, which is always a lot for me at
- 52:19Speaker 2: the doctor and her response to me was, I thought
- 52:24Speaker 2: you'd be goofier because she's just looking at me, and
- 52:27Speaker 2: I don't ever know what to do, so I don't
- 52:29Speaker 2: do anything. But then if I don't do anything, people
- 52:32Speaker 2: will go like, oh, he just wasn't that nice. But
- 52:34Speaker 2: I don't know how to act when I know that
- 52:36Speaker 2: somebody knows me from something but won't talk about it
- 52:41Speaker 2: but will still look at me weird. It's like I
- 52:43Speaker 2: got the biggest booger on my cheek or Molly mo
- 52:46Speaker 2: mo mo mo mo moo, Molly mo mo mo mo.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Hello is that thunder go Lee? So she said I
- 52:59Speaker 2: know you, and I said, oh, yeah, from what she said,
- 53:02Speaker 2: oh American Idol radio or something. She goes, I just
- 53:07Speaker 2: thought you'd be a lot goofier than you are, and
- 53:10Speaker 2: I did not know if that was a compliment or not. Okay,
- 53:18Speaker 2: I think that's it. That's all my notes that I
- 53:21Speaker 2: have for now. I'm gonna go do some manly stuff
- 53:27Speaker 2: and fix mama alarm, my home alarm. Thank you all,
- 53:36Speaker 2: And that's all. Twenty five whistles, No, thank's close to
- 53:40Speaker 2: an hour by myself. Hey you forty seven minute or
- 53:42Speaker 2: shout out thanks for being here the whole time. Stanley
- 53:45Speaker 2: been a great guest. Thank you, buddy, I love y'all.
- 53:48Speaker 2: Scratch your tail, let's head back up to the house.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Thanks to DraftKings if there was ever anything edited in here,
- 53:55Speaker 2: for a minute, it was like Draft King sports Book.
- 53:58Speaker 2: But that means Mike had to insert a couple of
- 54:01Speaker 2: things and for like spot reasons. Otherwise, Let's go baby,
- 54:07Speaker 2: all right, See you guys.
