- 0:00It's the last round, guys, off the Moto GP 2025 season, the
- 0:05season you know, back. Nice words, Per Lewis keeps
- 0:12reminding us throughout the whole season.
- 0:15So he finished fifth overall. He didn't come there for that.
- 0:18Does he get a pass this round? Is, is Bizecki the closest rider
- 0:23in the VR46 Academy to Rossi? Alex Marquez, you know, where
- 0:28would you rank his overall performance?
- 0:31If there was an award to be given for what Pedro did this
- 0:36season on the KTM, what would you call that award?
- 0:39We have to talk about, you know, Frankie, is this the icing on
- 0:43the cake for this guy to not be Moto GP 2027?
- 0:46I love the guy, I love the guy, but is this the icing on the
- 0:49cake? I can't see what he did.
- 0:51So is it fair? Was it a fear penalty to you
- 0:53guys or unfair penalty for what Jack Miller got because it
- 0:57looked like his rear tired nudge ferminal the gears arm?
- 1:15You're listening to the Be Forever Cool podcast.
- 1:17My name is Rex 45 Moto GP. As 2025 has come to an end, we
- 1:23have a lot to cover about 2025, how it ended, all that fun
- 1:27stuff, all the craziness. Who gets the pass?
- 1:30Who should keep a contract for 2027 because they're all signed
- 1:34for 26. Before we get into all that, let
- 1:38me just bring in the guys tonight.
- 1:41TJ Mann, welcome to the show. How are you doing tonight?
- 1:48It's still cold up here, getting colder, but I'm I'm doing great.
- 1:52It was a a fun, fun season, I must say.
- 1:56I mean, there's a lot of controversy, ups and downs.
- 1:59I mean, overall, this is a good 2025 season.
- 2:03Can't wait for the 2026. But do you want me to tell you
- 2:07about the Patriots? We're still winning.
- 2:09Well, you know, I was going to say you, I have to talk about it
- 2:13because the fact that I'm talking about it, they're still
- 2:15winning, you know what I'm saying?
- 2:17I, you know, I'm. Not waiting for them to fall off
- 2:19but they just making the rest of the league look like why?
- 2:23Why are they getting paid? And now everyone's saying we
- 2:26have an easy schedule, but you know, you still got to go out
- 2:28there before, but you know, you just hold your breath until the
- 2:32playoffs basically, because that's what things really
- 2:35matter. Right.
- 2:36They they, they didn't say we had a hard schedule.
- 2:39You notice? I'm saying we now when, when,
- 2:43when they were losing last year, they didn't say it was a hot
- 2:45schedule. Yeah.
- 2:47I know, right? So you know it is what it is.
- 2:51Lewis man, welcome to the show. How you doing?
- 2:53You're back on the mainland so all must be well.
- 2:58Are you still looking for your cappuccino espresso?
- 3:01I to be honest with you, man, I do not drink, I do not drink
- 3:04coffee, I don't drink a cappuccino, I don't drink
- 3:07espresso, any of that, which makes traveling overseas even
- 3:10harder because you just got to go on pure energy there's.
- 3:13No. There's no artificial boost from
- 3:16the the caffeine when I go there, but it was a good trip
- 3:20and I saw some really cool stuff, talked to some
- 3:22interesting people. So it was overall very positive.
- 3:26But I'm I'm glad to be back on this side and in the right time
- 3:29zone again. Yeah, like we like having you
- 3:34back as you get to come on the show and, and, and and lend your
- 3:37thoughts on A lot has been happening.
- 3:39It's the last round, guys off the Moto GP 2025 season.
- 3:46And, you know, I'm going to try to do it a little bit different.
- 3:49We'll start with this. We'll start with, you know, in
- 3:52your own words. Each of you will start with TJ.
- 3:55Give a recap of the weekend before we dive into the whole
- 3:58season and stuff like that. That's the question.
- 4:01Just give a recap on what you recap on what you thought of the
- 4:05weekend and you know the the floor is yours.
- 4:08We'll start with TJ. I mean, let's see, like, how can
- 4:13I say it? I mean it's the grand finale.
- 4:16I mean, you know, we start with all the young, young guns, you
- 4:21know, the the mini Moto and and and stuff like that.
- 4:24So it's, it's, it's the grand finale.
- 4:27It's kind of like the race you want to end on, you know, it's
- 4:32kind of bittersweet. Just have it end the season.
- 4:35But like, like I said, it's like, you know, you have the
- 4:37kids there, like all, all the, the, the, the, the levels.
- 4:43So I would say it's just the grand finale.
- 4:48It's a good weekend all. Right.
- 4:49That's what's up. That's what's up Lewis man, you
- 4:52know the floor is yours and make it short and sweet like like TJ,
- 4:55but you might not. What are your thoughts for the
- 4:58weekend? Any of your words?
- 5:00I mean Spain is always a good place to finish off the season.
- 5:03I mean they've been doing it now they're pretty much with the 1
- 5:06little hiccup the COVID year. I think they've finished.
- 5:09Spain is the the capper of the season almost every year for the
- 5:13last like 20 something years. It's always a great turn out.
- 5:16It's always a great crowd. I enjoyed every single race, the
- 5:19practices. I mean, you kind of get that
- 5:21little bit of an extra enjoyment out of it knowing that now we're
- 5:25going to go into like the winter months and we're not going to
- 5:27see motorcycle racing for three or four months.
- 5:30So it's it's a bittersweet ending to the season, but it was
- 5:34a good, good event, man. The turn out was amazing.
- 5:37Like it's been in a lot of other events.
- 5:39The racing was fun, like it was tight.
- 5:41It was good. There was a lot of things that
- 5:44happened, so even though like some of the bigger names maybe
- 5:46weren't racing Marquez and so forth, it's still a great
- 5:49weekend, man. You know, I was surprised at the
- 5:55turn out the attendance. I mean it was packed, but it
- 5:58sounded like it was in a hundred 100,000, not like the 250 close
- 6:02to 300 of these other tracks, is it?
- 6:05I mean, does does that area of Spain need to, you know,
- 6:09commandeer some more land? No, I don't know if it's, I
- 6:13don't know if it's so much the, I mean, the one thing with that
- 6:17track is that track is kind of built like a stadium because the
- 6:21tracks in the middle and there's grandstands around it.
- 6:23Whereas other tracks kind of like the infield will go out to
- 6:27an outfield and come back to the infield.
- 6:29It's all like in a stadium there.
- 6:31So it's a very unique layout for a, for a race track.
- 6:34Cause anywhere you sit, you can kind of see the entire track.
- 6:37It's it's so it is a little bit smaller a venue, but it's also,
- 6:42you know, it's the end of the year.
- 6:43I think it makes it special to have that like arena type feel.
- 6:48Right, Yeah, No, I I agree with the with the grandstand.
- 6:51It does. I I saw that over the weekend as
- 6:54when they were pan in the crowd and stuff like that.
- 6:56And and I didn't know the complete layout as as you
- 7:00explained it, but I thought I was like, oh wow, there's a
- 7:03whole row of stands in that one section where at other tracks
- 7:06you don't see that. And I'll say this, I mean it is
- 7:10and you know, I don't know about TJ.
- 7:11It is one of my favorite tracks on ride game and it's one of the
- 7:14few tracks like I know all the turns.
- 7:16It's like like you know, Mojelo and these other places.
- 7:20I know some of the turns and stuff like that.
- 7:22But it's one of the few tracks because it's a smaller track,
- 7:25one of the reasons I believe. But it's also a fun track to go
- 7:29around on and it is tight. So I can see why Yamaha was
- 7:32quick at at that track. What are your thoughts on on on
- 7:36the layout of the track and and TJ, do you agree with, you know,
- 7:39is that one of your favorite tracks as well now?
- 7:41So like it on a Moto GP game? I mean, yeah, I consider it's
- 7:45one of my a favorite track of mine.
- 7:48You know, everyone likes Majello and all those faster tracks
- 7:53where you can really get on the gas, but it's more technical
- 7:56track, small layout, and I think it's pretty smooth that I like
- 8:02Valencia. You know, it's just like you
- 8:04said, the stands is really nice where wherever you sit, like
- 8:07when they pan it out, you can see different turns from afar
- 8:11and don't have to be like, you know, for instance, let's say
- 8:14Coda where it's like you don't hear the bikes for a couple
- 8:17minutes because they're so far away.
- 8:21And you know, I just, I just think the layout's pretty,
- 8:24pretty neat. It's pretty unique and it's cool
- 8:27try because it takes what, a minute and a half roughly to get
- 8:30around. And so you see the the
- 8:33entertainment, you know, pass by like, you know, fastest.
- 8:37Yeah, it's the NJMP of the. I, I, I agree it is, it is
- 8:45definitely that, that kind of track.
- 8:48So you know, it's it's it's I don't even I'm I'm going to be
- 8:52jumping all over the place probably a little bit tonight
- 8:57because but we'll talk about the race first, the Sprint race, the
- 9:02qualifying, you know, I guess let's let's let's talk about bag
- 9:06night before Reese get on. So that way we can say we're
- 9:09we're already done, you know, the beginning of the season, you
- 9:14know, Bagnay's words, per Lewis keeps reminding us throughout
- 9:21the whole season. So he finished fifth overall.
- 9:25He didn't come there for that. Does he get a pass this round?
- 9:30Running out of gas can't be his fault, right?
- 9:34Getting punted off the the track can't be his fault out of out of
- 9:3722 rounds this round does the man get a pass and just you
- 9:41know, he was he standing too close to Oliveira?
- 9:44What are your thoughts, TJ? He don't get a pass.
- 9:50You know what this is, this is the cherry on top, you know, So
- 9:57for all the problems that he had, like it's just sucks the
- 10:01way it ended. Like it's just it just makes
- 10:04sense. It's just he had a terrible
- 10:06year. And this is just the cherry on
- 10:08top. You can't mess around in the
- 10:10back if you're a faster writer, you know, like, obviously you
- 10:13can't control what Zarko did either, you know, But you know,
- 10:18it's just a cherry on top. I, I, I don't, I don't think he
- 10:22gets a pass. It's just he ran out.
- 10:25In Q in Q2, he ran out of gas in Q2, So he was on A possibly
- 10:30going to make it to, I'm sorry, Q1 he was possibly going to make
- 10:33it to Q2 but ran out of gas with three minutes.
- 10:37So maybe his engineers was like, I don't know how the hell are we
- 10:41going to make Peg go faster? Maybe just lighten his back up,
- 10:44give him some less gas, like see if he can get a faster lap and
- 10:47then he know he just probably continued and ran out of gas.
- 10:51It just I don't know, they probably try to help him out of
- 10:53the way. So I don't, I don't think he
- 10:54gets passed, but it's just interesting how it laid out, you
- 10:59know, with him running out of gas and then even in in the GP
- 11:03race, he hit three corners and, and it's just, it's just sad.
- 11:09I know he's glad for this season to be over.
- 11:12Man, I, I think his fans are and I think he is, although, you
- 11:18know, what are you going to talk about this offseason, Lewis?
- 11:21How do you what do you thought I'm.
- 11:24Actually sad the season is over because now it's three months
- 11:27where I don't get to bang on him all the time.
- 11:29For me. I mean, I'll start again next
- 11:33year. I'm sure he'll pick up when he
- 11:35left off. But we we we can complain about
- 11:37him not walking his dog enough. Yeah, yeah, we can find
- 11:40something. There's always some the the the
- 11:43fuel thing. Anybody will tell you when
- 11:46they're going out for qualifying.
- 11:47They only put so much fuel for so many laps because they're
- 11:50going to not going to fill the tank because they don't want to
- 11:52add the extra weight and they set the bike up for the weight
- 11:57of the bike with that type of fuel capacity.
- 12:00Now, did they send him out and he stayed out for an extra lap
- 12:04that he shouldn't have? Did he burn some gas on the
- 12:08first lap that he shouldn't have?
- 12:09You know, like there's a lot of dynamics there.
- 12:11I mean you just have to be that half a liter short and now you
- 12:16don't get a row 3. Minutes 3 minutes left. 3
- 12:19minutes left. 3 minutes left is. 'Cause he did it, he he did pit.
- 12:23I mean, if you think about it, I mean, they should have, they
- 12:27should have put a little big ass in, but then, but then again,
- 12:30for a tire change, a tire change is fast.
- 12:33And remember, these guys don't pit.
- 12:35So it's not like they have speed cams where they just pump it and
- 12:38go. It's a different dynamic.
- 12:40If you're a endurance racer, you've got an endurance tank.
- 12:43If you're a regular racer, you know, you get the little funnel
- 12:46out, you measure out exactly the amount.
- 12:48Like it's a different dynamic than that.
- 12:50And I don't know what the fueling procedure is or what the
- 12:53rules are, but I think in GP to fuel your bike has to be in your
- 12:58garage. You can't fuel outside your
- 13:00garage. So he would have to bought the
- 13:01bike into the garage, added fuel, turn it around, get it
- 13:04back. Like, so again, somebody
- 13:07somewhere screwed up and their measurement was off by like, you
- 13:10know, maybe 20% of a liter or something.
- 13:14And that's why he ran out of gas.
- 13:16But for me, this is just the culmination of what might be the
- 13:19worst season of his career to this point.
- 13:22I mean, I don't think it can get any worse than this.
- 13:24So this weekend was just exactly what you know what man said.
- 13:28It was the cherry on top of a shit sandwich.
- 13:31Like this was as bad as this was as bad as the season could get.
- 13:35And it's like, think there's your cherry.
- 13:37But the one thing I say, though, that has always been a knock on
- 13:42him and will always be a knock on him.
- 13:44I hate the fact that he goes down and he just walks away from
- 13:49the bike. He does not.
- 13:51I don't ever see him making an attempt to pick the bike up and
- 13:54even get one point. And I'm sorry, but if I it could
- 13:57be the last race of the season, you could be out of the points.
- 14:00I still expect you to go back to that bike, pick that bike up and
- 14:04try to finish and get that one point.
- 14:06Right. And that, that, that.
- 14:09Shows me he's got no dog in him. Like there's no dog in that
- 14:12fight. Like if you bike, if you bike
- 14:16crashes, if your bike goes down, it's a low side.
- 14:18It's not tumbling and doing a Cirque du Soleil and the swing
- 14:21arm doesn't come flying off. I want you to at least make an
- 14:24attempt to run back to the bike and look to see if you can get
- 14:26on and finish. I don't care if you finish last,
- 14:28man. I paid for the gas, I paid for
- 14:30the tires. I paid for you to ride that
- 14:31bike, pick that bike up and finish.
- 14:33Right. Well, you know, he, he got to
- 14:36keep himself right for he wasn't going to gain any points and
- 14:39they got testing coming up. Yeah, but he doesn't just do
- 14:42this now, man. He's done it during the whole
- 14:44season. We can go back and like the
- 14:46first time he DNF, Ed, I guarantee you he didn't even try
- 14:50to look at the bike. And you look at Marquez, he's
- 14:55ahead in the points, my man crashes, holds it on to the
- 14:58handlebars, tries to get the bike up and giggle.
- 15:00And he's the one that really doesn't need to do it.
- 15:02He's 100 points ahead of everybody else.
- 15:04But he does it. Why?
- 15:05Because he doesn't know any other way to ride.
- 15:10Maybe husband dies and he look at the bike and he can see all
- 15:13right, something's broken. You don't.
- 15:14Even look back, he stands up and walks away before he looks at
- 15:17the. Bike he did.
- 15:18He did, he did look, he did look back because the marshals had
- 15:21the bike up and he and then he, he turned, he walked away from
- 15:24the bike. He did walk away from the bike.
- 15:25He didn't pick the bike up though.
- 15:26He didn't. Pick the bike up.
- 15:27He didn't. Pick the bike up, but he.
- 15:28Did I felt like he he could have rode through that, that Kitty,
- 15:32but after if he was in first place or if it was the
- 15:34championship year and he messed up like that, he would have
- 15:37found a way to save and not just fall it.
- 15:39I know the Kitty lit his deep, but he would have found a way to
- 15:43stay up somehow like like Lewis said to at least get one point.
- 15:47Like he just kind of just gave it up.
- 15:50And I didn't really look at it that way where when he crashes,
- 15:52kind of just says whatever. Like there's a lot of riders who
- 15:56crash and still, still jump back in the race.
- 16:00Jawan Meer's done it. Zarko's done it.
- 16:02Like so many riders have just crashed in and you think they're
- 16:06out and they finish what last throws?
- 16:09They're going to last it. Yeah, yeah.
- 16:11Or or even they'll jump, continue, and then they'll pit
- 16:14later in the race because it's like.
- 16:16You know you. Know they crashed.
- 16:17You know, crashed and came in 13th place and got a couple
- 16:20points. Mark Marquez, man, did he need
- 16:22three or more points to win by 100 and something points this
- 16:24season? No, but that's just the dog in
- 16:27him. He's going to get up and he's
- 16:28going to fight. A lot of riders do that, man.
- 16:30If you're in this level, I expect you to at least like make
- 16:34the attempt to go to the bike. Don't just walk away from the
- 16:37bike like that. Fuck, I'm done.
- 16:40You know what? I should have been like that and
- 16:42done and not ask about Pekko at all 'cause you shouldn't.
- 16:46At least, at least at least, say, here.
- 16:49Man this would be a 2 hour conversation just on that.
- 16:52I'm pretty I'm pretty sure he'll he'll slide something when he
- 16:54when he comes. But here's a stat, just so you
- 16:57know, since Marquez won the championship across all
- 17:02platforms. Zuccotti scored two points in
- 17:06Moto GP. Marquez has scored zero points
- 17:11since he won the championship because he got hurt.
- 17:14Petco has scored zero points since Marquez won the
- 17:17championship. You know what?
- 17:19Who scored the two points? Bulaga.
- 17:24Oh, you mean I'm talking about? Factory Ducati Factory Ducati
- 17:28Bulaga is the only guy to score a point in the last four races.
- 17:33Well, yeah, that's because he then I have this written down.
- 17:37Petco has had five DNFS. So that's that's.
- 17:41That's not all everybody else's fault.
- 17:42That's that's easy enough. He had five DNFS and won no
- 17:46points. Yeah.
- 17:47So I mean it, it is, it is unfortunate for the situation,
- 17:52but we'll find out more. Just I won't talk about Bagnaya
- 17:55in in 2025 season since it's over.
- 17:58So I guess today's 2026. Agnia sucks the 26 also by the
- 18:04way. No, let me ask this guys.
- 18:07OK, so is is is Bizecki the closest rider in the VR46
- 18:13Academy to Rossi? Reason why I said that besides
- 18:18Mark Marquez, Bez is the only other rider in modern times to
- 18:23jump on a new bike, new factory team, new team, new factory team
- 18:27and finished third in the championship.
- 18:29Mark did it last year with Grassini for that.
- 18:32I, I it's been a while. I think Rossi was the first, did
- 18:36it and won on the Yamaha way back when.
- 18:39Is he the closest thing to to a Rossi?
- 18:43Or in the making I should say. Yeah, and I'll possibly say in
- 18:48the making, you know, there's still a lot of milestones to be
- 18:53completed, but the Zeki is no slouch.
- 18:57He has proven himself and this year definitely you got to tip
- 19:04the hat off to him because you've had no real like teammate
- 19:09to lean on to get data from is basically you and your
- 19:13engineering and it trickled down to, you know, the other riders
- 19:17on a period. So and what he did was he he,
- 19:21you know, got a couple poles and a lot of wins.
- 19:24He'd seen his struggles in the end of the year, but he's
- 19:28definitely the closest I would say in the making to to Rossi.
- 19:35OK, OK. What are your thoughts, Lewis,
- 19:38on that, what Bez is doing? You're probably checking my
- 19:41numbers just to make sure. What I'm saying is I'm fine.
- 19:46No, no, I'm not. I, I believe you.
- 19:49I think, I think there's a lot of talent in the VR46 Academy
- 19:54overall. Like if you look at all the guys
- 19:55that are part of that program, there's a lot of talent there.
- 19:59I think this year Bizecki has shown that next step in the
- 20:05progression of a really good rider from a really good rider
- 20:09to possibly a great rider. You know, he went from a
- 20:12competitive, super competitive bike from Ducati.
- 20:15The big risk to go to a prelate, even though it had shown some
- 20:18brass flashes of brilliance, it had never been a consistent race
- 20:24over race front runner, you know.
- 20:29Asparagus had shown some flashes of brilliance here and there,
- 20:33but it wasn't ever a consistent thing.
- 20:36And the Zeki is somehow taking a bike at the beginning of the
- 20:39year wasn't really working for him, adapted his riding style,
- 20:43worked with the team to make some changes to the bike.
- 20:46And at that certain point of the midway part of the season, like
- 20:51he really started coming out right before the midway part and
- 20:54just started building on building on build on that.
- 20:56And I think if he stays with Aprilia and they continue to
- 21:02evolve this package, I think he going into next year, he's
- 21:05definitely got to be considered one of the favorites to win the
- 21:09championship, more so than, you know, more so than I would say
- 21:13Martine right now, because Martine next year is starting
- 21:16like Bazecki started this year at the beginning of the year.
- 21:19Like next year is really his first year on the bike.
- 21:21Bazecki is his second year on the bike.
- 21:24I I, I, I completely agree, Reese, man.
- 21:28Welcome to the show, man. What's, what's that?
- 21:31What's good, man? What's going on, man?
- 21:34No. I thought I'd be parked by now,
- 21:35but traffic, but I'm all good. What's going on?
- 21:39I can't complain, man. I don't know how much of that
- 21:42you you've heard is, but I repeat it.
- 21:46Is Bez the closest thing to a Rossi coming out of the VR46
- 21:49Academy being able to put jumping on a bike for the first
- 21:54year, be able to finish third in the championship.
- 21:57Marquez was the only other rider in modern time that was able to
- 22:01do that, switching manufacturers and and finishing third in the
- 22:04championship. Although Lewis, I think he can
- 22:08hear me. Mark had more points last year
- 22:12than Bez did this year. But what are your thoughts,
- 22:14Reese? I mean, the part I heard from
- 22:17Lewis, I did, I do agree with that.
- 22:19I do think that him jumping on that bike and he came, he kind
- 22:23of came into his own after they started, you know, gelling
- 22:26together and and kind of matching up in the second-half
- 22:28of the season because he really came came on in the second-half
- 22:31of the season real strong. So I think that was a good
- 22:35marriage right there. And I think if he stays with
- 22:37that package and he and he really goes forward with it, I
- 22:41really think that he can be a top contender next year being as
- 22:45far as with the VR46, I think he is one of the strongest coming
- 22:50out the way he has come come along.
- 22:54Do I so as far as like a Rossi, I mean, he's he's close.
- 23:00He's not going to lie, he's damn near close.
- 23:02He's right there. I mean, we still got a good way
- 23:05to go, but he has shown some talent on that bike.
- 23:09And just like you know what Lewis said with Jorge, I mean,
- 23:12Jorge is pretty much starting from scratch.
- 23:14So he's got a long way to go to to develop that bike for him and
- 23:17match it to his style of riding. Yeah, I, I, I agree with that.
- 23:22Nice. That's what's up.
- 23:26Alex Marquez, you know, where would you rank his overall
- 23:30performance this weekend and also all season, right?
- 23:34Because I mean, it's pretty impressive.
- 23:37Where would you rank Alex and what he's been doing this year?
- 23:42And you know, after the injury, we saw him fall off a little bit
- 23:47as one wounded from injuries. But he's he finished out the
- 23:52year as strong as one can come. If you look at all these other
- 23:55guys that's been injured this year and where they are and in
- 23:57the standings. What are your thoughts, TJ?
- 24:02I mean, like I've been saying all year, I never expected Alex
- 24:06to do what he did. I mean, like, obviously riders
- 24:11should be improving year by year, But from the year he had
- 24:15last year, I mean, I know it's the the type of bike, but he had
- 24:19a hell of a year this year. I'll rate, I'll rate his
- 24:21performance this year pretty much 10 out of 10.
- 24:26I mean, I just remember last year when he had that incident
- 24:29with Petco at Aragon, you know, it was a it was a little battle
- 24:34of like whose fault it was and Alex would being in the way and
- 24:39should have let him by. And you know, I feel like he,
- 24:43you know, he he mentally knew that he was just a stronger
- 24:46rider and a strong rider. He didn't have to back down to
- 24:49any other one. So this year I think he really
- 24:51improved it. I think he's a 10 out of 10
- 24:54performance going into this weekend.
- 24:57I mean, he did qualify 2nd on the grid, but he got the Sprint.
- 25:02Think he chose probably the wrong tire package or something
- 25:05like that on the GP because you know, his pace dropped off or he
- 25:09just maybe had no energy. But 10 out of 10, I'll say for
- 25:13Alex. You know, Alex did mention in
- 25:17the the win in the Sprint saying that you know, he know he could
- 25:21be faster on Sunday. He didn't back up his words.
- 25:24TJ, you know you, you're going to blame it on tires.
- 25:30I mean, I mean, you know, he he should know better, like how to
- 25:34manage a Sprint to AGP racing. I'm sure they all been to
- 25:39Valencia before. But you know, I don't know, it's
- 25:43it's 2244 races. Like, you know, he's he's a no,
- 25:47he already did what he had to do and all the conferences we've
- 25:51met and at the end he just probably just wanted to get to
- 25:55that testament on on Tuesday. So just probably took it easy.
- 26:00I mean, like even his own teammate overtook him in the
- 26:02last corner. I know.
- 26:05So, you know, for him to let let it slip like that, like, you
- 26:09know, you don't really see that from Alex.
- 26:11So I think it's the tires. It's nice.
- 26:13So you know, Lewis, I, I didn't add this when I talked about
- 26:16Bazecki, because to me, Bazecki's, even though he
- 26:19finished third in the championship, he's really #2
- 26:22because he, he kind of just started out slow and just kind
- 26:26of made an upward progression where Alex finished second in
- 26:29the championship, but he's slipping and sliding.
- 26:33What are your thoughts on, on, on Alex's performance overall?
- 26:37And, and this this weekend, you think like TJ said, like like I
- 26:41said, he, he did. They just made the wrong choice
- 26:42on, on, on Sunday with tires. Or maybe he's, you know, the,
- 26:47the, was it the, the, the silver?
- 26:49What is it? The silver bullet, not bullet
- 26:51slip. What is that I had today?
- 26:55I'll, I'll get it. What are your thoughts?
- 26:57No, I think Bazecki and and Marquez are, I mean Alex
- 27:01Marquez, obviously. I think they are different sides
- 27:05of the same coin. Whereas Marquez started the
- 27:08season very, very strong and Bazecki struggled.
- 27:12Just as Marquez started or Alex started to struggle, Bazecki
- 27:16started to come on. So it's almost like at the end
- 27:19of the year, they balance each other out.
- 27:22If Bizek had started just a little bit better, he'd probably
- 27:25be second in the championship, not third.
- 27:30But I think on Saturday that the teams, Nah, they're not going.
- 27:35But I think the team just made a really bad decision on the
- 27:39tires. You know, you, there was a, you
- 27:41could see with like 6 or 7 laps left, he was already starting to
- 27:45have some problems when the camera would focus on him.
- 27:48And I think it probably just got progressively worse.
- 27:50And he probably got to a point where he's like, look, I just
- 27:52got to manage the time I have. I'm not going to catch the three
- 27:55guys or four guys in the front. And then, you know, we know for
- 27:59a fact that Al Daguerre is super strong when the tires drop, Like
- 28:03he's one of the fastest riders as the tires get worse.
- 28:07And so when, you know, when Al Daguerre was there within like a
- 28:11second and a half, two seconds, I was like, yeah, he this is
- 28:14going to, this isn't going to end well for Alex because that
- 28:18kids got that kids got nothing but pissing vinegar running
- 28:22through his veins, man. He just wants to do whatever he
- 28:24can do. So good for him, man.
- 28:27I, I'm super stoked for him. But Alex did what he needed to
- 28:30do, brought it home. They're going to start testing
- 28:33and from there, you know, we'll see what happens next year.
- 28:36I, you know, I hear so many different things of what
- 28:40Ducati's doing for next year or what their new bike is going to
- 28:42be. So we'll see.
- 28:44Hopefully they can do something because I, I know outside of the
- 28:47Grisini team, I mean the Grisini team has outperformed the
- 28:50factory team a lot more in the second-half of the year than
- 28:54anybody would have expected. What if we're going to we're
- 28:56going to talk about that. So definitely hold on to that.
- 29:01Silver Surfer is what they were going for with Alex Marquez and
- 29:06the and the. That's funny because in the, in
- 29:10the in the post race little chat the three riders have they were
- 29:15they were asking each other why is he in silver?
- 29:18And they speculate always because you get silver for being
- 29:20in second place. And they told Bazecki, Oh, maybe
- 29:23you, you should be in bronze. Yeah, see, I got to.
- 29:28I got to learn Spanish and Italian you get.
- 29:32You get all the scoop. You get all the scoop when you
- 29:34know the language, man. So that's what that's what
- 29:37Acosta had told. Like Bazeki had asked why he's
- 29:41in silver. And Acosta said, oh, I think
- 29:43it's because silver is what you get for the medal in second
- 29:46place. And then Acosta told them all,
- 29:49you know, Bazeki, you should have had a bronze suit.
- 29:53And he was like, Nah, Nah, Nah. I just got engaged.
- 29:57I'm good. No bronze suits.
- 30:01What's going on, Reese, what are your thoughts on Alex Marquez?
- 30:05Maybe it was the outfit slowed him down how he did this season
- 30:12despite the injuries and everything, I mean, and despite
- 30:15the 6th place on on Sunday, because at the end of the day,
- 30:18he still solidified second in the overall championship.
- 30:21So he gets a nice check. Right.
- 30:23I mean, he still solidified second overall.
- 30:25He still gets, as you know, we saying all the time, you can
- 30:28still get a a big check. There's a big difference from
- 30:302nd to 3rd. So I mean, he still gets a nice
- 30:33check. I mean, in the second-half of
- 30:35the season you you could see that he was kind of more spotty.
- 30:39He was on, off, on off. And you know, like everyone else
- 30:43said, I mean, I disagree with everybody.
- 30:45I agree with everyone. It's just they just made a bad
- 30:47tired choice coming up here in the in the GP.
- 30:50Like you could just see he was struggling and just trying to
- 30:53pretty much limp at home and just trying to do the best he
- 30:55can. But I, I think if, but it's like
- 30:59it's, you know, if Izecki would have had the same amount of
- 31:02success as he did in the second-half all the way through,
- 31:06we would have a different conversation right about now in
- 31:09second place. So overall, I think Mark Alex
- 31:15did a great job. It's just to see if he can
- 31:18actually continue that success with the new GP with the 26th
- 31:24that he's going to get since he will now be on a factory bike.
- 31:28And he also said, you know, with the factory bike, he does have
- 31:30to show that he's worth it. So I mean, he's got a lot of
- 31:34work to prove and a lot of stuff to deal with.
- 31:36So we'll see what he can he can continue that success next year.
- 31:41Yeah, I agree. He does have a lot to show and
- 31:44you know, he he he got by in 24, but he definitely earned his
- 31:49keep in 25. So that's that's pretty
- 31:51impressive. The awards ship banquet was last
- 31:56night. If there was an award to be
- 31:59given for what Pedro did this season on the KTM, with all
- 32:04their woes and all the in house stuff and external stuff, on
- 32:08track stuff, what would you call that award?
- 32:12Let's start with DJ. Yeah.
- 32:17I mean shit, I mean, I don't even know.
- 32:27I don't even know what I would call that award like.
- 32:30But what? What, what?
- 32:31He might not have a name for it, but how would you describe what
- 32:35he did this year? I mean, like, I mean, he, he,
- 32:40he, he put in a lot of work he did, he put in a lot of effort.
- 32:44But when things went wrong, his, his, the way he responded to
- 32:49that. It's just that it wasn't equal.
- 32:51So gotcha. OK, I mean.
- 32:54Like, go ahead. I, I, I mean, I, I, like I said,
- 32:58I'm picking up a word to call the award, but I don't know.
- 33:02I I kind of want to hear what Lou's got to say.
- 33:05All right, man, they're throwing it to you.
- 33:06Lewis got like 10 of them already.
- 33:08He's like finally what? What kind of award would you
- 33:14give him? Because see, I was think I I,
- 33:16you know, T JS holding some, you know, couple of bad things that
- 33:20that Acosta did, but overall. To.
- 33:23Me, I would think, you know, I was thinking like 6 man of the
- 33:27year if the kind of award because you know that KTM, he
- 33:30made that KTM what finished fourth in the championship.
- 33:40Am I? Am I leading the witness?
- 33:43Your mute is on? Did I do?
- 33:45That I said really, it's a he should be 5th if Petco didn't
- 33:49completely fall apart. Just one more dig at Petco 2025.
- 33:54OK. All right.
- 33:55And he wouldn't have even finished that far up.
- 33:58I think Vanyalas would have finished in front of him had
- 34:02Vanyalas not gotten hurt. So all things given.
- 34:06I mean he's still in the top 6 let's say, which is really good
- 34:10considering where some other people on the same bike are.
- 34:13I mean, I don't know, angry little Spanish guy complaining
- 34:18until he gets what he wants award.
- 34:20I don't know what to do something like that.
- 34:22Like complain to the Austrians, give an award all.
- 34:33Right. OK.
- 34:34I, I mean, you know, let's, let's see.
- 34:36Let's see what Reese got. I mean.
- 34:39I don't even know. I can't even say.
- 34:42I'm like just I don't even know how you want to call that award
- 34:45Spanish award. I don't freaking know.
- 34:48I'm lost some. I'm with DJ on that one.
- 34:51I. Mean, you know, he finished.
- 34:53I'm with DJA. Lot of podiums these last four
- 34:56rounds. Right in the Coattails Award.
- 34:59There you go, he wrote vignettes.
- 35:01Yeah, that, that might be I I agree.
- 35:04Riding the Coattails Award. OK.
- 35:07I can agree. All right, all right, riding the
- 35:10Coattail Awards is what he what he's going to get.
- 35:13All right, here we go. I I I looked up some, let's say
- 35:16the Angry Bird award. That that, that that could work
- 35:23too. So, OK, all right, well, let's
- 35:26let's say the same question, but we're going to pose it to Fabio
- 35:29Cuatararo, cause, you know, he, he did some amazing things in
- 35:34one lap for that Yamaha. I'm sure he helps some people
- 35:39keep their Yamaha and probably buy a, a Yamaha if there's an
- 35:45award for Fabio. What, what, what just is it
- 35:48Braveheart? I don't know what, what are your
- 35:50thoughts, TJ? Yeah, Yamaha.
- 35:53Yeah, you. Said I heard that when Reese
- 35:58said Reese did something I mean, you got to give it to Fabio,
- 36:03like Fabio really tries hard, but he's demanding, you know, so
- 36:09like I would say like, you know, I'm not good off top of here
- 36:14with like award days, but you know, like you got to give him
- 36:16to like, you know, little beast or something like that, like Mr.
- 36:23Mr. aggressive you. Just missed the beast, Mr.
- 36:27Beast. I mean, he got the he got the
- 36:30devil on his on his helmet. So like he has that, like you
- 36:33tell, he has that like aggression.
- 36:36So all. Right, so he he may need some
- 36:37holy water. Yeah, maybe.
- 36:40The devil isn't working all right.
- 36:43You know, I think you're batting up.
- 36:44You got one for one right now, Lewis.
- 36:46We're giving out awards, so there's going to be 1 for Fabio.
- 36:50He's on a Yamaha, so that might be tough for you, but you know.
- 36:58Fastest guy in the slowest bike award.
- 37:03FS. Yeah, fastest bike, slowest
- 37:07fastest guy in the slowest bike award.
- 37:10FBSG. Yeah, the Looking Good and
- 37:15Pearls Award. Yeah, the Pearl Nexus Award,
- 37:26String of Pearls Award. Oh, man, but I but you know,
- 37:34this guy, his his his performance this year and is it
- 37:38a big deal? I mean, is it something that's
- 37:40kind of like, it's cool but it's only, you know, just to talk,
- 37:45talk, talk about, but it doesn't mean much overall or it it's
- 37:49good for Yamaha that they can still get 6 poles this year and
- 37:52be one of the slowest spikes. It is, but I mean it just you
- 37:56know, it's another year of it sucks to be Fabio Cuatraro, you
- 38:01know, like the the most one of the most talented riders that
- 38:05can't show his talent because he doesn't have the package to be
- 38:08competitive. You know, if if you told me to
- 38:11swap him with Pedro Acosta, I think he would have done better
- 38:18than Pedro Acosta. If you told me to swap him with
- 38:21Bagnaya, Ducati factory team would finish one and two.
- 38:25You know on any other bike this this guy would be winning races
- 38:29or be be racing for the wind every every single round.
- 38:34Not racing for the wind once in a blue moon.
- 38:38So. That's, that's, that's, that's
- 38:40where I feel, you know, that's where I kind of feel a little
- 38:43bit of a pity for, for Quadararo that, you know, it you, it's,
- 38:48it's, it sucks to be on a bike that, you know, you can't do
- 38:53more with. I mean, at least money being sad
- 38:58and rich is better than being sad and poor.
- 39:00And he gets paid well to be sad. But I'm sure he would happily
- 39:06take the money and some wins and not just the money.
- 39:10I agree. What are your thoughts, Reese?
- 39:13Yeah, Yamaha. So you can't say anything
- 39:15negative about Yamaha? So is that the the 7th man of
- 39:21the year award he's getting? No, listen, I'm a Yamaha man,
- 39:27but I can call bullshit. On that side, I don't know, on
- 39:35our side, you know, that'd be different.
- 39:37But all right, that side, man, I'm going to call bullshit.
- 39:39That was a bullshit award. You know, for the most, like, I
- 39:43think that's one of them trophies you get, you know, back
- 39:46in the day when you just do participation award, that was
- 39:49that award for him. Like he's shit.
- 39:53That's the award I'm going to give him because I mean, yeah,
- 39:56he got podiums and and you know, it's great, but it's just like
- 40:00it was just. You you pretty much riding over
- 40:04your head, like you're riding over your head luck of the draw.
- 40:07And it's just like, it's that was just bad, you know, And then
- 40:10they're like, what D tier? I think I look there and like
- 40:13the D tier level for consistence.
- 40:16Like, that's just ridiculous. Right.
- 40:19Yeah, let's talk about. Well, well, I'll say this when
- 40:22we talk about Ducati because I know Lewis have some things to
- 40:26say. So you know, in 2025, Ducati
- 40:30finished 8th overall with six bikes, right?
- 40:35In the top eight overall. In 2524, I think they were like
- 40:4011th overall with eight riders in 23.
- 40:44I think they were like 12th overall with eight riders or
- 40:46something like that. So this is the best season
- 40:48they've had, you know, in the last three years, probably the
- 40:53whole since they've been in Moto GP period.
- 40:56So how do you guys rate Ducati and what they're doing?
- 40:59Even though we see the struggles, Peko finishing in
- 41:015th, but there's only two bikes that finished in the top eight.
- 41:05One was the KTM, one was in Aprilia.
- 41:09Is this something for Ducati to celebrate or should they should,
- 41:16or should they look to improve even more?
- 41:20Obviously they're going to look to improve.
- 41:22But they, you know, there's six bikes and only one can be one,
- 41:26right? And so they, they're, they're,
- 41:27they're taking the 1st 8 spots. What are your thoughts, TJ?
- 41:31Oh, I got something for that bullshit.
- 41:32Got you. Well, let's let's let's get into
- 41:34Reese and let let's let Reese sounds like he's he's ready to
- 41:37go. So sorry to cut you off, TJ, but
- 41:40you know, he, he, he, he's also just came on the show.
- 41:44No y'all good I mean I listen on that note it's a damn Ducati
- 41:48show like to look to improve what you going to improve on
- 41:51like you know 66 bikes that's just insane.
- 41:56You know in the top ten you know come on so there's nothing top
- 41:59eight sorry oh sorry top 8 that's even worse.
- 42:02So there's nothing really to improve.
- 42:04You're at the top of the game. Didn't.
- 42:07If. Watch them go down the front
- 42:09straight away. They're blitzing everybody.
- 42:10They're just just destroying bikes.
- 42:14So it's at the point on what can you really improve, You know, I
- 42:17mean, maybe you can improve a little bit more on on tire wear,
- 42:21but as far as performance, I mean, you're already there.
- 42:24Is it like top racks? That is a damn Ducati cup.
- 42:28You know, if it wasn't for KTM or even Aprilia, Like I can't
- 42:33even count the Yamaha boys on that side.
- 42:35But it's just in the middle. Ducati cup all the way.
- 42:38It's literally that's all it is. Like, yeah, TJ, what are your
- 42:45thoughts? I'm not complaining.
- 42:46I like Ducatis. Yeah, we know.
- 42:49Yamaha I like to ATMs. I have two weeks.
- 42:53I mean, no, I mean I agree with Reese.
- 42:56Like what? What can they prove on?
- 42:58I felt like last year when they had eight bikes, I thought it
- 43:00was a little ridiculous and I wanted, it was a little
- 43:03interesting to see like you expected all Ducatis to win.
- 43:07There was a lot of races where it was just one through 5 Ducati
- 43:10and then you know, the Ducati lovers won't see it as being
- 43:15boring. But I'm just like, I want to see
- 43:17another manufacturer, you know, be more competitive.
- 43:20And for them having this year being their best year, I can't
- 43:24really, you can give it to them, but like at the end of the day,
- 43:28they have a superstar rider that you see Boo.
- 43:31Everyone will wave a points. So if Mark wasn't there, you
- 43:36know, it'll be a different story.
- 43:37I think they need to worry about how to get their rider riders to
- 43:41improve better like TECO, you know, going through tough times
- 43:46to to stay on top like like reset.
- 43:48They have to, you know, the best machine where you know, they can
- 43:52go down the straightaway and just beat everybody and, and
- 43:55they've been improving every year, coming up with new
- 43:59aerodynamics before anyone else has it and and stuff like that.
- 44:02So they've always been at the top of the game.
- 44:04So I don't see the bike needs to improve much, but they can keep
- 44:09their riders on the same level, that's all.
- 44:12The only thing I disagree with you is is, you know, only Ducati
- 44:15guys like like the, the, the dominance that's happening.
- 44:19You know, the Patriots and the Celtics, man, come on, man.
- 44:21I mean, you know, like how you. Weren't sick for the. 1st after
- 44:25the first 3. No, yeah, no, I feel you on
- 44:30that. You know, like, you know, you
- 44:33want to see your, your, your brand win and continue.
- 44:36Like everyone likes dominance, but I was more sane with having
- 44:42eight bikes, you know, so like or 6 bikes and, and saying
- 44:47you're dominant, it's, it's like, yeah, you have all the
- 44:50bikes where you can, you have the better advantage, but you
- 44:53still got to go out there and do it instead of racing at the end
- 44:55of the day. And I was just saying this year
- 44:58a lot of BS happened with a championship writer.
- 45:03Didn't look like a championship champion.
- 45:06Yeah, no doubt. Louis, what are your thoughts,
- 45:08man? On on Ducati and, and and what
- 45:10they're doing. And you know, Ducati should be
- 45:14in, should be everywhere, right? I mean, I give them, I give them
- 45:19credit for this. And I've said this before, it's
- 45:22not the first time. They are the only manufacturer
- 45:25or one of the few manufacturers that's still actively investing
- 45:28in the sport bike market in a big way.
- 45:32You know, we've spoken about it before where the Japanese
- 45:34manufacturers don't have their foot, if I'm the gas at all,
- 45:40barely on the gas. Whereas Ducati and BMW, you
- 45:43know, they have their foot 100% on the gas.
- 45:46I mean, they're investing heavily.
- 45:47They want to do big things. They want to take that mentality
- 45:50of when on Sunday and buy on Monday.
- 45:53And that's kind of been their better bread and butter for
- 45:55years in this industry. They had a little bit of a rough
- 45:59patch there when they first introduced the Panigale.
- 46:03They didn't win championship for a long time anywhere.
- 46:06They evolved the GP bike, they evolved the Penegale, they went
- 46:09to the V4, you know, they changed things and and they've
- 46:12turned it around in the last. Realistically, this is only the
- 46:16last 6-7 years. The Ducati has turned things
- 46:20around so much. Not that long.
- 46:22Yeah, because from 2012, when the previous 1199 or 1198 went
- 46:32away and then the Penegale came into existence, you know, when
- 46:36the Pentagon came into existence, it came in on the
- 46:39shoulders of like a bike that had previously won a lot.
- 46:43And it did Jack shit because it was, you know, it was built more
- 46:48for AI. Think it was more of an ego trip
- 46:53to build that bike than the idea of winning championships with
- 46:56it. Because they took what they were
- 46:58doing in Moto GP that wasn't working and they built it into a
- 47:02street bike that wasn't working. And then after a few years of
- 47:06swallowing a lot of crow for building a bike that nobody can
- 47:08seem to win on, they went back and they redesigned the bike.
- 47:13They went to the V4. They did this, they did that.
- 47:15They changed all the things. They took the ego out of it and
- 47:18went back to actually building a true world class championship
- 47:21bike, both in Moto GP and a world super bike.
- 47:25And now, you know, in the last seven years, they've gone back
- 47:28to dominate and these, you know, at least World Super Bike, they
- 47:32always were really competitive World Super Bike.
- 47:34But now, for the first time ever, they're really dominating
- 47:37in Moto GP. Right.
- 47:38I would say they they replace ego with electronics.
- 47:42No, no, they. It's the electronics is what
- 47:44makes that bike rideable. They raise ego with engineering
- 47:48that works, you know, because remember the previous Moto GP
- 47:53bike, what did they do? They connected the swing arm
- 47:56directly to the motor and said this is a great stress member.
- 47:59No, it's not A motor is a motor. It's not designed to hold the
- 48:02swing arm that could put 230 horsepower on the ground.
- 48:06The bike, the kinds of weird things.
- 48:08You know, one of the first things, I think one of the best
- 48:10things that they did is they stole Gigi Delegia from Aprilia.
- 48:17He probably sitting handily turned that not just their
- 48:20racing department around, but that entire company around
- 48:23because was designing or leading them in the design of their
- 48:28bikes before him. It should get fired.
- 48:32Right, right. Well, they did.
- 48:34I remember the person that was before Gigi came in and then
- 48:38they were having trouble when they said when Gigi came in he
- 48:40scrapped the whole project and redid it from the ground up and
- 48:45when he redid it he saved Ducati.
- 48:48Yeah, if like honestly, that hire, nobody thinks that hiring
- 48:53some guy to manage a race team is going to change your entire
- 48:57company's fortunes and whatever they're paying him, it ain't
- 49:01enough it. Ain't enough.
- 49:03No, it ain't enough. Because every single win that
- 49:06comes across any checkered line anywhere in the world, Anna
- 49:09Ducati, they can thank that guy for it and his vis and
- 49:14everything else all. Right.
- 49:15We're pretty impressive. Before we move, let's move.
- 49:18We're going to move off of Ducati, but we got to talk
- 49:21about, you know, Frankie, is this the icing on the cake for
- 49:25this guy to not be Moto GP 2027? I love the guy, I love the guy,
- 49:29but is this the icing on the cake?
- 49:33Look. He cannot have that much right?
- 49:36He can't have that much more pressure than Pekka.
- 49:38Like both of them are frustrated but Jesus fucking Christ I both
- 49:42of them need to icing on the cake and just be like all right,
- 49:44time to move on. I've I've never, I've never seen
- 49:48a rider that has problems in other places like like, you
- 49:54know, been racing. I mean, I know this was racing,
- 49:56but like, like how you need to answer the grid and stuff like
- 50:00that. Like you, you don't even give
- 50:02yourself a chance sometimes, you know, like he does certain
- 50:04things where he just just cause himself to get a penalty or he
- 50:09gets himself in trouble. And yeah, it's just I didn't
- 50:12understand what happened. Like you, you think that
- 50:14happened in lower class? Like, like he fell asleep.
- 50:19I mean, I don't know. I'll.
- 50:21Say this, he did not expect whatchamacallit to do what he
- 50:25did, how he engaged the the the the ride height device for the
- 50:29stairs. Because you can see like once he
- 50:33once he once he did the endo, you can see Frankie try to avoid
- 50:37him like instantly, but it was already too late.
- 50:40And if he and if he didn't, if the bike didn't come off the
- 50:43ground, he would have cleared them if the bike was on the
- 50:45ground. But I know that when all the
- 50:48bikes get on the grid, they have to do it in building to engage
- 50:51their right hand device. They usually do they.
- 50:53Usually do it before I think oh hey Martinez is one of the only
- 50:56guy that kind of does what what Elise did.
- 50:59Yeah. I mean, yeah, they were like
- 51:01literally legit in their positions.
- 51:03So like, I don't know, it was kind of, it was kind of
- 51:06unfortunate for him. It sucked.
- 51:07I mean, yeah, it's a freak accident, but it's just it only
- 51:11matches up to Frankie like it happens to have.
- 51:14So do you, do you, do you think he, he, he, he lost his seat in
- 51:1720? Well, there's no seat because
- 51:19there's no contract. But is this the thing that kind
- 51:21of say? All right man, let's find
- 51:22someone else. Yeah, man.
- 51:25Well, he's on the training block.
- 51:26That's what you call it. Like he's like there's a rider
- 51:29that can show some talent and show some light.
- 51:33Like, all right, we got a spot that can fill over Jelly
- 51:36already. No, I yeah, I feel your Reese.
- 51:39What are your thoughts, man? I, I, I feel like this is the
- 51:41thing that like, for me, like, I mean, I love the guy and I've
- 51:44been rooting for him for forever, but it's just like, you
- 51:48know, like stop shooting yourself in the foot.
- 51:54I mean, you're on the chopping blocks, man.
- 51:58That that's we're, we're at a professional level, at a high
- 52:03end level and you come into the grid and you do some dumb shit
- 52:06like that, You know, I mean, it's like, what, what were you
- 52:09thinking? Like it's like that was like the
- 52:11most rookiest mistake I've ever seen.
- 52:13It's like you almost fell asleep behind the bars.
- 52:16You know, I'm just like, what? What were you thinking?
- 52:18So I mean, unless, unless he can actually turn, you know, next
- 52:23year around because he's already signed his contract for next
- 52:25year. So he's already on the seat, you
- 52:27know, unless he turns it completely around And just I
- 52:32mean, I want to say top three dominated, just being the top
- 52:35three all the time. I mean, he's going to get
- 52:37chopped. There's just too many penalties,
- 52:39man. There's too many, There's too
- 52:41many simple mistakes that you make, like the penalties, the
- 52:45points and the the ride throughs or the the double long lap
- 52:50penalty, the long lap penalty, however you want, whatever it
- 52:52is, you know, it's just too much of it for, you know, it's like
- 52:56at the end of the day, yeah, you're a great right.
- 52:59You know, you're 1 of Rossi's boys and you know, you come from
- 53:02VR46 camp. But at the end of the day,
- 53:05Rossi's running a business. He's running a business and he's
- 53:08not here for, you know, as some people would say, they're not
- 53:11here for charity. They're, you know, we're here to
- 53:13win or try to do something and, you know, not doing anything.
- 53:17And that's just hurting the team.
- 53:19And, and he finished, you know, 7th in the championship with all
- 53:23the antics and stuff that happened with him.
- 53:25I mean, imagine if this guy just had a clean season, he could
- 53:29have possibly been maybe third or fourth in the championship
- 53:32because he had some races or some opportunities to to finish
- 53:36strong and races where he just did bonehead stuff or had a lot
- 53:39of long life penalties and stuff like that.
- 53:41We get thoughts, Lewis. I mean, we tearing up the
- 53:43contract early. No, man, I mean I if anything,
- 53:47you know, so he's got next year to to to clear his head and get
- 53:52his head out of out of his ass and prove himself because I from
- 53:57my understanding him and the Jan Antonio are both only on a one
- 54:01year contract. Yeah.
- 54:02Next year, yeah. So it's really going to be a
- 54:05fight between those two. Who stays in the seat and he
- 54:09needs to just, you know, put his head down, focus and just out
- 54:14ride his teammate 1st and then try to do the best he can after
- 54:18that. You know, I know that, you know,
- 54:21within the team, people really like him.
- 54:23You know, he's a, he's a nice guy to be around and everything
- 54:26else. He's not as much of A of a issue
- 54:29inside the garage. He's not somebody that, you
- 54:31know, rants and raves and throws stuff and yells and screams.
- 54:34So, you know, so teams tend to take that into consideration
- 54:39too, because I mean, there's a lot of riders that don't have
- 54:41rides and a lot of that has to do with their attitude.
- 54:45So if he has the right attitude, if he comes in, he's he, you
- 54:47know, comes in in the best shape of his life, super focused and
- 54:51does what he can do, he'll probably salvage that.
- 54:53But if he is not riding at a potential that they think that
- 54:57him and the bike should be at, if his teammate out rides him,
- 55:00then he's going to be out of a ride, man.
- 55:02He's going to be looking for someplace else to, you know, to
- 55:05hang his hat. Unfortunately.
- 55:07I like him a lot too, man. I, you know, I think he's a,
- 55:09he's a good character to have. He's that, you know, that one
- 55:15character. I mean, he's the only one in the
- 55:17entire grid other than the Asians that doesn't come from
- 55:21Europe. You know, now we have another
- 55:24Brazilian. So he definitely got to beat
- 55:26that other Brazilian. Although although these these
- 55:29Moto GP guys were saying the first Brazilian to win because
- 55:34Frankie won the Moto 2 title. Yep.
- 55:37And I mean, I know he's a half, but like, I mean, what are we
- 55:40saying? He got to be 100% now because
- 55:43they were, they were should really give, you know, long
- 55:46spokes. English guys, man, those English
- 55:48guys don't know nothing. They you know what they think
- 55:51because they talk in an English accent that they sound so
- 55:54smarter. They ain't that smart.
- 55:56Just that English accent makes them sound smart.
- 55:59That's that, that's that is good to know, yeah.
- 56:02Everybody in games with throne had English accents.
- 56:05They were dumb as shit. Yeah, they were.
- 56:09I'm messing with my own anyway, but he's he's he's out through
- 56:13testing because of his hand. So it's not just that he just,
- 56:17you know, fell on on on a grid, but you know, now he doesn't get
- 56:21the part to test to tomorrow and or and you know that that's huge
- 56:27for and I was going to say last year at the beginning of the
- 56:30season, he was hurt on the Pentagon and preseason right, or
- 56:33before the season. So he couldn't do a lot of the
- 56:35preseason testing last year. Earlier this year, I should say,
- 56:38because he was on Primark last year.
- 56:40From what I understand, I mean, Ducati's not rolling out a ton
- 56:43of new changes to the banks. So it's not going to be like,
- 56:47you know, they're, they're bringing anything new to the
- 56:49table because it, you know, what's the purpose of putting
- 56:53millions and millions of dollars into a bike that's only going to
- 56:55be good for one year? So I don't, I don't think
- 56:58outside of Honda, which is might be testing parts that are going
- 57:04to go to the new bike. That's really most of the
- 57:07testing that's probably going to happen is is on packages that
- 57:10will eventually end up on the 27 bike.
- 57:12I'm pretty sure if you look through the grid next year, a
- 57:15lot of the bikes that are on the grid are going to be the 25
- 57:18bikes with small modifications for 26.
- 57:21Nobody's dumping a ton of money to try to win the title in 26
- 57:25knowing that they have to develop an entirely new bike in
- 57:2827. That's my feeling.
- 57:32All right, from moving from Frankie to to Jack Miller, he
- 57:38got a double double long lap penalty.
- 57:45It was so dropped three position and then he got along like
- 57:47penalty because he didn't drop the three position.
- 57:49Now I didn't see the incident in real time and he got a lot of
- 57:55blame in real time. But after watching it, I I can't
- 58:00see what he did. So is it fair?
- 58:02Was it a fair penalty to you guys or unfair penalty for what
- 58:05Jack Miller got? Because it looked like his rear
- 58:07tired, nudge firm and all the gear's arm and not like he
- 58:11pushed them off, you know. But he didn't do what Zarko did
- 58:15to Bagnaya. I mean, I think it was any other
- 58:21type of recent incident that where someone's trying to pass
- 58:24someone in the corner. From what I saw, Jack Miller
- 58:29just dive bombs, you know, to pass, you know, in a corner and
- 58:33have to be two bites. And Altiger was one of them.
- 58:38And basically when he died, bombed them, he kind of nicked
- 58:42Altiger a little bit where it causes Harry to fall off and
- 58:47stuff like that. But you know, Jack Miller was
- 58:50told to drop 2 positions or three positions and he didn't.
- 58:55And I, I mean, I don't know, I don't know if some riders just
- 58:58say F it and I'm just just take the penalty at the end because
- 59:01they probably know, you know, like the insurance and outs
- 59:05where like just a long lap penalty is better than just
- 59:09slowing down and dropping three positions where you really can't
- 59:12look back. So.
- 59:13Well, I mean, he did he, he it's the same position he would have
- 59:17lost when he took the. I think he only lost three
- 59:19positions when he did the long lap.
- 59:21So yeah, I mean, I don't know the benefit in all honesty.
- 59:25I mean, he should have just let the the virus go by.
- 59:28I mean, it was just been that easy and he he just didn't do
- 59:32it. So I think that was just the the
- 59:35argument there was, you know, he didn't do it in time where and
- 59:40then the laps that he's supposed to drop the position.
- 59:42So you know the the stewards had to get involved.
- 59:47You. Know you think.
- 59:49It was fear. Yeah, I mean, yeah, he should've
- 59:53like, what are you? It was kind of wild.
- 59:55The passive baby was kind of wild, but you know, it's yeah,
- 1:00:00it was fair. Man, you starting to sound like
- 1:00:03a politician. I was wondering when you were
- 1:00:04going to say yes, no. You know, sometimes, sometimes
- 1:00:10they've been making decisions. You'd be like, what?
- 1:00:13Like, you know, sometimes they choose to do it like the the
- 1:00:16next race or you know, it's just not the the right type of
- 1:00:20penalty or double long lap or it shouldn't have been like I don't
- 1:00:24know, I guess. Yeah, like, you know, like, like
- 1:00:26Martine, for instance. What?
- 1:00:27But what are your thoughts, Reese, on, on Jack Miller's
- 1:00:30penalty? Is it something that you think
- 1:00:33was fair or unfair? I, you know, I, I think it was
- 1:00:35kind of unfair personally, but that's me.
- 1:00:39I mean, the past was kind of hard.
- 1:00:41I mean, it almost looked like he kind of dove in there a little
- 1:00:44tight and then they kind of bumped real hard.
- 1:00:47It's almost like a dive bomb, but it.
- 1:00:49How many times does Aldigia does that, though?
- 1:00:51This whole season? How many times, 10 times has he
- 1:00:54done that to people? He has, I mean, he has done it.
- 1:00:59I mean, but it was just so that was a little aggressive.
- 1:01:01I thought that was something coming.
- 1:01:03When I saw it, I was like, there's something coming down
- 1:01:05the pipeline. So I mean it, it's like a 5050.
- 1:01:08I mean, I it's something you could say, yeah, it's kind of
- 1:01:10stupid. And then you could kind of say,
- 1:01:12yeah, it was kind of harsh. It shouldn't have been done all.
- 1:01:15Right. 5050 Louis, are you? I know you saw it clear as day.
- 1:01:19You. Know Louis is going to have some
- 1:01:21harsh shit to say. No, I'm not going to.
- 1:01:23I mean, personally, I think to be honest with you, I personally
- 1:01:29think that it was right on the razor's edge of a racing
- 1:01:33incident and a little more than you should do.
- 1:01:38So that it's a decision that would have, could have gone
- 1:01:41either way. It's really just how the track
- 1:01:43Marshall interpreted it at that moment.
- 1:01:46Because if you look at it like, yeah, the IT was a pass and it
- 1:01:50was a, a, a hard pass, but it wasn't like he completely took
- 1:01:55out the gear out. But on the flip side is if
- 1:02:00you've got that much pace to pass him and you got to do
- 1:02:04something that that sketchy where you are almost sure to
- 1:02:08make contact with the rider, are you better off just setting them
- 1:02:12up at the next corner and passing them clean?
- 1:02:15Rubbing is racing, Lewis. Rubbing.
- 1:02:17Is rubbing is racing. But if you rub too much,
- 1:02:20somebody's going to come and meet you in the garage and
- 1:02:23introduce you to the shadow realm and put you put make you
- 1:02:28look like Kamar Osman in that one UFC bout.
- 1:02:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that is true there.
- 1:02:34That is true. It's, it's, it's a little tough,
- 1:02:36but Aldiger does of all the writers out there, he's one of
- 1:02:40those writers that, you know, he, he, he goes for everything,
- 1:02:43even when there's nothing there sometimes.
- 1:02:46I mean, that's that's it is racing you, you do have to go
- 1:02:49for I mean you do have to go for those gaps when you find them.
- 1:02:54And especially I blame this and this is just, I blame a lot of
- 1:02:58these hard passes that are happening in the last 2-3 years
- 1:03:02or these sketch as on Spanish people and Europeans, mainly
- 1:03:06because they're 99% of the of the grid.
- 1:03:11You know, the Aussie is the only one that's not on, you know, one
- 1:03:13of the few people that's not from England.
- 1:03:15So, you know, I got to give him a little pass.
- 1:03:17It's it's on the aerodynamics, man.
- 1:03:20You know, the aerodynamics have made it just so difficult to
- 1:03:23draft past people cleanly that you have to do these crazy
- 1:03:27sketchy passes because you can't just out aerodynamics somebody.
- 1:03:31You can't just outbreak somebody.
- 1:03:33You got to outdrive them. You know, between the
- 1:03:36aerodynamics and the right height devices and everything
- 1:03:39else, they've taken the ability for riders to pass in a
- 1:03:43controlled manner away for the most part.
- 1:03:46So now riders out of desperation are making more and more of
- 1:03:49these like lunges from way back and like, you know, right at the
- 1:03:54apex, just meet each other. Or, you know, it's I can't wait
- 1:03:58for like these arrow packages to go away, especially the arrow
- 1:04:00packages that damage the air behind their bike.
- 1:04:04And even, you know, listening to Bulaga this past weekend, it's
- 1:04:09his second weekend in GP, coming from World Super Black where
- 1:04:12they don't have all these aerodynamics and all these
- 1:04:14packages. You know, even he has mentioned
- 1:04:17in the Italian media that he didn't realize how bad it is to
- 1:04:22pass in Moto GP because. It's so hard.
- 1:04:26His last experience in the champ in the World Championship on
- 1:04:29Moto 2, it wasn't like that. You know, it's more or less a
- 1:04:33production bike. You don't have dirty air in
- 1:04:35front of you. You can get up behind somebody,
- 1:04:37draft them, catch a little bit of draft.
- 1:04:39He said when he would get stuck behind other bikes, he felt no
- 1:04:43breeze. He felt like there was no air in
- 1:04:46front of him, like he didn't feel that he was actually
- 1:04:50gaining on the gas because there was.
- 1:04:52It felt like all the air that was in front of him was like a
- 1:04:55void. And it's so you couldn't get
- 1:04:58really close because as soon as you get close, you start to feel
- 1:05:00a lot of turbulence coming from the bike in front of you.
- 1:05:03And if you stay far enough of back where you don't have that
- 1:05:06turbulence, now you have to make up that distance again in the
- 1:05:10break to try to pass. So as soon as these aerodynamics
- 1:05:13go away and these stupid right heights devices go away and a
- 1:05:16little bit more, the control is back on the riders to make
- 1:05:18passes. We'll probably see less of these
- 1:05:21bonehead. I mean, we're still going to see
- 1:05:22bonehead passes. That's part of racing for as
- 1:05:25long as they've been racing. But you'll see less bonehead
- 1:05:28passes when that happens and with a when a couple of guys are
- 1:05:32no longer in the grid that just like making these bonehead
- 1:05:34passes. Anyway, it's just it's racing,
- 1:05:40man. It was a good weekend.
- 1:05:41I got to say Honda, you know, Mayor unfortunately cleaned out
- 1:05:46his teammate in the Sprint. That's teamwork, baby.
- 1:05:53Exactly. That's teamwork, man.
- 1:05:55They want those concessions still.
- 1:05:57That's what it. Is I mean.
- 1:06:00I needed to take out both races, not just one.
- 1:06:03Right, that's what I'm saying. They they, they don't want to
- 1:06:06make it look obvious. You know you're just doing a.
- 1:06:08Spread well, you know, they're they're moving up to C from D,
- 1:06:11which is good for Honda. I wasn't sure if Luka was going
- 1:06:15to make it. They were very happy.
- 1:06:17It's I, I, I, it seemed like the factory guys are going to be
- 1:06:22doing less testing and that's a good thing 'cause they move up
- 1:06:24to sea. Is that is that a good thing to
- 1:06:28be testing less? I mean, I feel like you should
- 1:06:35just be on a bike regardless just to keep your your skill
- 1:06:37level up. I mean, as far as like going
- 1:06:40party testing, I, I, I brought it up before.
- 1:06:43It's like, I don't you know why they have like the the top right
- 1:06:47is testing. Well, I don't know how hard they
- 1:06:49go on testing, but you know, just risking yourself to get
- 1:06:52hurt before the season starts. So like, I know you want to test
- 1:06:55just to feel things out, but like, how hard?
- 1:06:57How far do you go with it? But yeah, I think they should
- 1:07:01still be involved. But like how much?
- 1:07:03Got you all right, Lewis, what's your thought on that?
- 1:07:07You know, ride is not going hard in in in testing.
- 1:07:10Is is the is the mechanics not going hard in Brent testing
- 1:07:14either? What's what's what's the deal?
- 1:07:16What are you thinking of Honda and their concession getting
- 1:07:19moving to see And also is it is it a benefit when ride when the
- 1:07:23factory guys can't get on the has to spend less time on the
- 1:07:26bike? No, I mean as a rider I want to
- 1:07:29spend as much time on the bike as possible.
- 1:07:31I want to keep constantly trying to make advances because I'd
- 1:07:34rather do it myself than have a test rider try to make changes
- 1:07:38to a bike that they're actually not going to race in.
- 1:07:41As the actual guy racing, I want to be the one working on the
- 1:07:45bike, testing and everything. So for me, moving from D to C or
- 1:07:50C to B makes no sense because you get more to do as AD ranked
- 1:07:57concession. You get more tires, you get more
- 1:07:59events, you get more actual riders racing on certain tracks.
- 1:08:06They can actually race on any GP track.
- 1:08:09So you can actually go to a track that maybe you struggle
- 1:08:12with and try to find something at that track.
- 1:08:17There's there's other things you can do and moving from D to C,
- 1:08:20like the biggest thing you lose is that private testing is
- 1:08:23allowed on any track by the racers.
- 1:08:27So you're losing. For me, I think it's you're
- 1:08:29losing. One of the best concessions that
- 1:08:31the D rank has is your actual riders can actually go and do
- 1:08:35actual testing on tracks that maybe they struggle and give
- 1:08:39actual feedback as to what they need for the bike versus your
- 1:08:43test rider goes out there, thinks they're putting together
- 1:08:47whatever they have to put together.
- 1:08:48And then when it comes to the actual GP riders, they're like,
- 1:08:51oh, this doesn't work for me anyway.
- 1:08:54You know, I, I think, I think Honda should have had the guy
- 1:08:59who put the gas in Bagnaya's bike come over and be like, hey,
- 1:09:02how much gas goes in these bike and let him fill the tank up for
- 1:09:06Luca. There you go recently your
- 1:09:09thoughts, man, I don't know what concessions are like in the in
- 1:09:12in the US and motor America and stuff like that.
- 1:09:14But it would seem like, you know, as you hear Louis, Louis
- 1:09:18suspension, it would probably make sense for Honda to want to
- 1:09:20stay with that deconcession so they can get more a testing
- 1:09:25happening or be more productive with testing.
- 1:09:29I mean, yeah, of course you want to get as much production as you
- 1:09:31can. I mean on the D, on the D side
- 1:09:33of it, if you're AD level, I mean you get the free spec, you
- 1:09:36get free engines, you get as much testing as you want, you
- 1:09:39get to use any GP track as much as you want that you ride on.
- 1:09:45The riders still get to test, but they only can test on
- 1:09:49sanctioned test days, not private test days as at any
- 1:09:54time. So that sucks instead of being
- 1:09:58where I can test at any time and put more like Lewis said, give
- 1:10:02more feedback and set the bike up to where it's rideable and
- 1:10:07ready for me versus using a test rider and I'm kind of going off
- 1:10:11of his nose instead of my own. So as far as you know, what
- 1:10:16Honda, I mean, I did just like a football basketball team I'd
- 1:10:20have I'd have tanked just to get to the D level to stay there and
- 1:10:26not move up. I mean, now you can't hear you
- 1:10:28have an engine freeze. You only get, I think it was
- 1:10:33instead of 260 test tires, you get 200 tires.
- 1:10:38You know, you only get from them instead of it's man, it's, it's
- 1:10:41enough out of the state at the D level just to get the
- 1:10:45concessions. The American is it's not, it's
- 1:10:49not as integer, not as technical as that.
- 1:10:52I mean, we do have concessions, but not nearly what the GP guys
- 1:10:56go through. Got you.
- 1:10:58OK. So what's up before we get out
- 1:11:02of here? Who's going to be Rookie of the
- 1:11:05Year next year, Top Rock or Diego?
- 1:11:07Top rack. That's kind of the silliest
- 1:11:10question. No, man.
- 1:11:12Come on man, not silly at all. You didn't hear, You didn't
- 1:11:17hear. You didn't hear what about them
- 1:11:18yet, did you? What?
- 1:11:21Who had? Ones on the Honda, ones on in
- 1:11:24your mind so. I mean.
- 1:11:26I've I've got notes already. I've got notes they said.
- 1:11:32They said he's took to the bike and taken to how to ride because
- 1:11:39you can't. He was like you can't give as
- 1:11:41much front brake pressure as he does on the world super bike
- 1:11:45stage. You can't do it.
- 1:11:47You got to be more a lot smoother.
- 1:11:50But he's taken to a very well and he's far more advanced than
- 1:11:54any rookie has come on the GP stage.
- 1:11:57It's it's, it's like a 27 year old going to high school.
- 1:11:59I mean, I'm just saying. It's like a 7 foot tall guy
- 1:12:03playing junior high school kids in basketball.
- 1:12:06They're 5 feet tall. I don't know why he's
- 1:12:10dominating. 21 so he does have that age difference experience
- 1:12:17that you know, it doesn't help. It ain't my fault they took me
- 1:12:22late. That's their fault.
- 1:12:25Don't, don't kill the messenger. You were ready at 21.
- 1:12:30It ain't my. Fault.
- 1:12:32Even if, I mean, I think he'll be the the rookie of the year,
- 1:12:36but even if he's not the rookie of the year, I think I'm 27,
- 1:12:40he'll be the most significant rider in 27 just because he's
- 1:12:45got so much more history with the tires and with the way the
- 1:12:48bike works with those tires. I think that's, you know, people
- 1:12:52keep underestimating how significant that change is.
- 1:12:56You know, when, when they when they went from, you know,
- 1:12:58Bridgestone to Michelin, it wasn't that significant a change
- 1:13:02because both tires are almost equally as shitty.
- 1:13:05I was going to say, but you know.
- 1:13:08Yeah, but but, you know, you went from like a really shitty
- 1:13:12tire to a somewhat kind of really shitty tire. 2008 man
- 1:13:16Rossi loved them. Bridgestone.
- 1:13:18So what are you talking? About Yeah, because he was
- 1:13:19getting a special. Set right, Right.
- 1:13:23He's getting a special set for that motherfucker.
- 1:13:26He's getting that yellow band. But you know, I think, I think
- 1:13:32considering, I think the guys that are going to do very
- 1:13:37quickly, the guys that are easily adaptable riders that
- 1:13:40know how to adapt riding styles, guys that are hard Breakers are
- 1:13:44going to benefit more from the Pirelli tires.
- 1:13:47So your Marc Marquez's, even your Peklebag 9 is like the guys
- 1:13:52that are like super hard on the brakes, they're going to benefit
- 1:13:55from the Pirelli's. All the guys that are coming
- 1:13:59from Moto 2 are going to benefit from Peparelli's because they've
- 1:14:02already been racing in the Pirellis.
- 1:14:04But all these other guys that have only ever known either
- 1:14:08Dunlop or Bridgestone, Michelin, those guys are going to have a
- 1:14:12little bit of a learning curve to get used to the change there.
- 1:14:16So even if he's not the rookie of the year next year, which I
- 1:14:19do think he's going to be the rookie of the next year, I think
- 1:14:21he will do very, very well in 2027.
- 1:14:23I think he'll be a writer to watch in 2027.
- 1:14:26And I don't think he'll stay on that satellite team much longer
- 1:14:29because if things don't change, I think there's going to be
- 1:14:32spots available at the factory level with Yamaha, right?
- 1:14:36Right with quarter hour going to Aprilia.
- 1:14:39And and Sideshow Bob. Oh yeah, that's true.
- 1:14:43What are your thoughts, P PJ on on who's going to be a rookie of
- 1:14:47the year? I mean, you know, Diego does
- 1:14:49know all the GP tracks. So that is a bus where Top Rock
- 1:14:56is going to have a learning curve there.
- 1:14:58But what do you you don't? You're saying Top Rock?
- 1:15:01I mean, I'm not going to say that top rack being on a BMW for
- 1:15:05the first time at Koda is still putting down the time that, you
- 1:15:09know, a lot of people can't do So yeah, I would say.
- 1:15:15Yeah. I would say yeah, Top Rock, You
- 1:15:19know, he's obviously the the icon right now going into the
- 1:15:25season for like everyone wants to see what he would do.
- 1:15:28I mean, like, I think that shit is going to be such a good year
- 1:15:30with him being a rookie and and the rest of the season with mark
- 1:15:36kind of repeat. So it's going to be a good year.
- 1:15:38But I think, you know, over him and Diego, they've got to be
- 1:15:43tough for us. You know, I mean, obviously
- 1:15:45Diego is, you know, Moto 2 winning now and going into Moto
- 1:15:53GP, but I feel like he would be learning the bike more than what
- 1:15:58Tom Brock has to learn to start off.
- 1:16:00So Tom Brock has an advantage, but who knows what testing they
- 1:16:05got going on. Yeah, we've had some rookies
- 1:16:07this year coming from Moto 2, been on a podium and even won
- 1:16:11races, man. Yeah, so.
- 1:16:16Got to believe the height. Got to believe the height for
- 1:16:18what I see now so. Yeah, that's where it starts.
- 1:16:21It always starts with the height.
- 1:16:22What do you think? There's only, there's only one
- 1:16:24rookie that's that that's won this year.
- 1:16:27It's only been Aldiger. Aldiger.
- 1:16:29Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and he's just happens to
- 1:16:31be on the best bike. You know, Igura came close, but
- 1:16:35he didn't he didn't win in the beginning of the season all.
- 1:16:40Right, we're ready to get that in the system.
- 1:16:44Yeah, so at least one. What are your thoughts, Theresa?
- 1:16:46You're saying top rack all the way.
- 1:16:49I mean, I'm going to give it the top rack over it, you know, the
- 1:16:52next, because just as you said, you got a 27 year old coming in,
- 1:16:59you know, the top that he's been there for a while.
- 1:17:02And then you know, he's he's one that's the rarest breed that's
- 1:17:07kind of took coming from stunt riding as his dad.
- 1:17:11And you know, he's had so much learning curve from Sir Foglu
- 1:17:15and everyone else. So I mean, he's kind of blended
- 1:17:19the lines together and he's as you know, as my uncle would say,
- 1:17:23he's like an anomaly. He's one of the rarest people
- 1:17:25you can bring up. He's like one of the back in the
- 1:17:28days you call an alien. So I'm I got to give it to the
- 1:17:31guy. I got to give it to the top rack
- 1:17:33man. He's the wimpy of Moto GP.
- 1:17:37Pretty much A7 foot 7 wingspan and seven foot guy.
- 1:17:43Yeah, that's him. It's.
- 1:17:45Not it's not even fun to watch. That's to say it's not fun to
- 1:17:47watch Wimby play, but he it is like, you know, the the seven
- 1:17:51foot kid on the playground. It is.
- 1:17:54It's not. It's like, it's not fun.
- 1:17:58So I got to give it to him, man. Hi, no doubt.
- 1:18:02Well, we have some things plans for the.
- 1:18:04You have something to say? No, no.
- 1:18:06Just just one last thing about like the ECMA show, because I
- 1:18:10was able to go to ECMA, there wasn't actually a lot of new
- 1:18:16stuff. Like there were a couple of
- 1:18:17innovations. The one thing that everybody
- 1:18:20seemed to be talking about was the CF Moto V4SR RRRI.
- 1:18:25Think it's got like 30 Rs after the S I got to see the bike up
- 1:18:31close. It is hideously wide like those
- 1:18:36that that aero package in front is not pretty.
- 1:18:38When you see it in person it is. That is a big wide wing in the
- 1:18:44front. They did keep us about, I want
- 1:18:48to say 4-5 feet away from it, like it was stanchioned off.
- 1:18:53But just from the distance you can see that where it's not 100%
- 1:18:59where the European bikes are at in some places it's really,
- 1:19:03really close, man. And this is, this bodes well for
- 1:19:08two things. You know, China, everybody
- 1:19:11thinks that everything that comes out of China is cheap.
- 1:19:13Not everything, a large majority is made out of Chineseium and
- 1:19:17the ship falls apart. But when they do want to make
- 1:19:20something good, they have great engineers, they know how to make
- 1:19:24stuff, they have the manufacturing capacity to make
- 1:19:28really, really great items. And if this is kind of a glimpse
- 1:19:33into what they can do as time goes on, I think you're going to
- 1:19:37end up seeing more and more CF Moto dealerships or dealers
- 1:19:41bringing CF Moto on as a brand because they're able to bring
- 1:19:46bikes to the market that aren't just cool and have like great
- 1:19:50technology and everything else. But their price point are is
- 1:19:54very competitive. Yeah, it seems like they're
- 1:19:57doing what Ducati's doing, but the low end version.
- 1:20:01They're doing the category. They're doing the Walmart
- 1:20:03Ducati. Yeah.
- 1:20:05Like they're, that's pretty much what they're doing.
- 1:20:07Like, we're not Mercedes-Benz, we're Kia.
- 1:20:10Yeah. But we're going to make, we're
- 1:20:12going to make a really, really good Kia.
- 1:20:14It's not a Mercedes. But.
- 1:20:17I test rode. I test rode the 675 R at at at
- 1:20:22CF motor. Works.
- 1:20:24Yeah, and when I went to Jersey, I test rode.
- 1:20:26Yeah, it's a quick shifter. And it was pretty.
- 1:20:30It was pretty nice. I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:20:32I mean, like, it's not like what you would really expect, but
- 1:20:35like, it was solid. I can't lie.
- 1:20:38It's not refined yet, but again, this is another little kind of
- 1:20:42like shot across the bow of the Japanese manufacturers that, you
- 1:20:48know, you've got another player in the market.
- 1:20:51We're going to make a push to try to get into these because CF
- 1:20:53Moto has been expanding in third world countries in like the
- 1:20:58larger developing nations because that's bring their bread
- 1:21:00and butter under 150CC moped scooters and everything.
- 1:21:05But if this is kind of, again, a glimpse into what they're
- 1:21:08thinking of developing as they go forward, I think it's
- 1:21:11significant. One, because we need more
- 1:21:14affordable motorcycles that have a little bit more punch.
- 1:21:18You know, if I have a choice between buying a $13,000 R 9 or
- 1:21:22$13,000 CF Moto that's going to outperform an R9, I'm going to
- 1:21:27buy ACF Moto. Or if ACF Moto V4 ends up being
- 1:21:31$13,000 and my choice is that or an R9, like you know, I'm going
- 1:21:35to buy the CF Moto like I'm going to give it the chance.
