Transcript
- 0:00Welcome back to the Four Freedom Podcast.
- 0:02This is a special episode that friend of mine, Bryson Davis at
- 0:07WAME Radio here in Statesville, NC.
- 0:12He's one of the news anchors there and radio host there.
- 0:16Me and him actually started a podcast years and years ago
- 0:20during COVID. It was before COVID, actually I
- 0:23think it was. And before the Four Freedom
- 0:25Podcast, it was a little podcast called the Christian Politics
- 0:28Podcast. And we interviewed lots of
- 0:30different people and we went our own ways.
- 0:32He was he was one of my teenagers and I came here to
- 0:36Rhonda and he he began in that work and done some internships
- 0:40at Jr. Motorsports, Dell Juniors
- 0:41Motorsports and done a lot of coverage of races, NASCAR races,
- 0:47not races of people, but NASCAR races.
- 0:50And he came across my book and said, hey man, how about you
- 0:55come on and do a 30 minute segment, 25 minute segment on
- 0:58air live and talk about your book and all that good things.
- 1:03And so I went in, I sat down with him and had a wonderful
- 1:05conversation with him. And so this is going to be that,
- 1:09that area of that. He sent me the recording of it.
- 1:12And I hope you enjoy this. But we talked through a variety
- 1:15of topics from the book, the podcast, me and him and going to
- 1:22up to Washington for the inauguration, me and Brett going
- 1:27to Israel and what that was like.
- 1:29And we just had just a wonderful time of talking and just hanging
- 1:32out. I hope you enjoy this as much as
- 1:35I enjoyed recording it with him live in the studio there.
- 1:38And so this is a release of that and I hope you enjoy today's
- 1:43content. Just talking through and
- 1:45catching up with an old friend, talking through the podcast and
- 1:48the future of the podcast and what Lord's been doing through
- 1:51it. And so we hope you enjoy this
- 1:53today. And I want to always remind you

- 2:59our intro and the interview that me and Bryson Davis had just a
- 3:03couple of weeks ago. For freedom, He set me free.
- 3:07Not for change, not for guilt, not for Pharisee.
- 3:10Grace lit the flame. Now I'm puffing peace, cigars
- 3:13and victory. Justified.
- 3:15Released. Welcome to the For Freedom
- 3:18podcast. This podcast exists to bring the
- 3:22freedom of the gospel for everyday Christians with
- 3:25everyday issues. I ain't.
- 3:27Saved by dress codes, not by what I eat.
- 3:29I'm covered in the righteousness, washed from head
- 3:31to feet. No tally of tradition.
- 3:33No man made code. Blood bought my freedom.
- 3:36Now I ride that road. They clutch pearls when they see
- 3:38smoke rings rise. But my prey still ascends past
- 3:42the legalist cries. Christ plus nothing.
- 3:44That's the real math. So miss me with your fence laws
- 3:47and your extra path. He sat with sinners.
- 3:50I'm sitting with Saints, sipping grace from the bottle.
- 3:52No room for face. I like one for liberty.
- 3:55Toast to the king. Every ash of sermon.
- 3:58Death has lost its sting. For freedom He set me free, Not
- 4:02for change, not for guilt, not for Pharisee.
- 4:05Grace slit the flame now puffing, peace, cigars and
- 4:08victory justified released. For freedom, He set me free.
- 4:12Not for change, not for guilt, not for Pharisee.
- 4:15Grace slit the flame now puffing peace, cigars and victory
- 4:19justified, released. Let Grace begin.
- 4:32It is real country. 92.9 and 550 wame here on a beautiful
- 4:38afternoon, couple of minutes after 3 o'clock.
- 4:40Today is Tuesday March 31st and today we are joined by a living
- 4:44legend. James Safer is in the studio.
- 4:47James, how are you, man? I'm living, but I don't know
- 4:49about a legend. You're on the way.
- 4:52I'm doing well, man, Glad to be here.
- 4:54Thanks for letting me come on whammy and talk a little bit
- 4:57today, but man, excited to be here with you back in the
- 5:00saddle. Me and Bryson Davis, we go back
- 5:02a long time. Yes, we do.
- 5:05That's exciting. It was.
- 5:06We were just talking about this just a little bit ago.
- 5:08We were the first, I guess, radio style thing that I ever
- 5:14did. We had a podcast back in the day
- 5:15a couple of years ago and I couldn't even drive so.
- 5:20That was during the time where we were messed up and COVID and
- 5:23school wasn't in session and you would come up and hang out at
- 5:25the church with me and we would record a podcast together and
- 5:29man, what a great time that was. Dude, it was awesome because you
- 5:32know, I I didn't want to do my school work, which actually
- 5:34there for a little while I didn't have any.
- 5:36You know, we quit, we left school and got out of that.
- 5:38And so we, we kind of had this idea of say, hey, let's start a
- 5:42podcast. There's a lot of crazy things
- 5:44happening in the world. So let's see what's what we can
- 5:46say about it. And surprisingly, people
- 5:48actually cared what we had to say.
- 5:49So we we had some really good guests over the years.
- 5:52Man, we had some big We had Virginia Fox.
- 5:55Yeah, she came on. We had Mark Robinson came on.
- 5:58Donald Trump was supposed to be on, but he never did come.
- 6:00No, we never. We never could get our schedules
- 6:03to align with his. It just didn't work.
- 6:04He wanted to be on. He actually called us.
- 6:06Yeah, he was trying to get on with us and we just couldn't get
- 6:08our schedule aligned with his. That's right.
- 6:10So you've so you're doing a lot now.
- 6:12You're the pastor, senior pastor at Pleasant.
- 6:14Grove, Yeah, Pleasant Grove in Rhonda North.
- 6:16Carolina. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:17And a lot of history at that church.
- 6:19We were talking about Junior Johnson.
- 6:20Yeah, big time. Is buried up there.
- 6:22Yeah, was a member of the church, right?
- 6:25Member of the church his his wife Flossie was a long time
- 6:28member of the church. Big time giver to our women's
- 6:31ministry, did a lot, a lot of stuff.
- 6:33Many of her cookbooks and items that she made was in different
- 6:37cookbooks there. Yeah.
- 6:38He's buried just right by my, my office there.
- 6:40If you go on YouTube, some guy took a video of, of how to find
- 6:44it and where it's at. And so people come in almost
- 6:47daily. This past Sunday, we had a guy
- 6:49come in from like Walkertown, NC, an hour away.
- 6:53And he's like, I'm looking for Junior's grave.
- 6:55And I said right out here, come. So we talked for like 20
- 6:58minutes. Yeah, that's cool.
- 6:59You got and, and that's a good way to get people into the
- 7:01church, too. You're like, hey, man.
- 7:03Yeah, wow, That's awesome. So you're doing that, obviously.
- 7:07And I see your videos on Facebook all the time.
- 7:09So you, you guys and we actually got to play bluegrass up there
- 7:12last year, which was really cool.
- 7:14Took a trip to Washington with some you and some folks from
- 7:17your church. So you, you, you're in a great
- 7:19spot it seems like. Yeah, it's been good.
- 7:21Yeah, man. So tell me about you.
- 7:23You've, you've, you're still in the podcast world and still
- 7:26doing some things with that, but you've also written this book
- 7:30and that's what I want to talk about you, You've got this book
- 7:33is called from Brokenness to freedom, a journey of healing
- 7:36and renewal. You've written this with John,
- 7:38your friend who I've gotten to know through the years a little
- 7:42bit through our podcasts and things that we done.
- 7:44So tell me like, where did this idea?
- 7:46Where did you, where did you get the idea of, Hey, we need to
- 7:49we've got this podcast. It's kind of in a similar genre
- 7:53I guess, or idea space as your podcast, but where did the idea
- 7:57for the book come about? Yes, about six years ago, John
- 8:01started the podcast called for Freedom podcast and it deals
- 8:05with church hurt people that have been hurt in specifically
- 8:09the independent fundamental Baptist world of ministry.
- 8:12And as we got to going through that, we began just developing
- 8:17some thoughts and this idea of stages of leaving legalism, but
- 8:22stages of that you go through hurt, anger, resentment when
- 8:26when those things come out, what happens when bitterness begins
- 8:30to come into your life? And and this could happen with
- 8:32the death of someone. This doesn't just have to be in
- 8:34church hurt. And so a couple of years ago,
- 8:38John came up with these 8 stages of leaving legal, leaving
- 8:41legalism. And so I took them and I was
- 8:44like, man, I really like this. Lord really began laying on my
- 8:46heart to write this book. And I said, John, can I take
- 8:48your idea of eight stages and write a book with it?
- 8:52He said, sure. I'm not a writer if you want to
- 8:54do that. So I spent 6-8 months writing,
- 8:57putting some stuff together, and I sent it to him and he was
- 9:00like, well, now there's some edits that I need to make.
- 9:03So he went in and added like 20 more pages.
- 9:05Really. That's cool.
- 9:06So it's like 80 pages. It's just a really short, easy
- 9:09read. Each chapter can be a standoff
- 9:12chapter just to help with a specific thing.
- 9:15If you're dealing with anger, bitterness, hurt, how to help
- 9:17others, how to get through bitterness.
- 9:20And so we began walking through that.
- 9:22So last year I published the book and we sold several 100
- 9:26copies and it's on Amazon. You can go there and and type it
- 9:29in From brokenness to freedom. My name James Safer, one of the
- 9:33ways it'll come up and purchase that.
- 9:36And it's just been a blessing to help out and to be give these
- 9:40these books away and then help out and, and selling them.
- 9:42So yeah. Yeah, for sure.
- 9:44What's your, your, your process been like you said it took 6 to
- 9:478 months to write this. I'm not, I'm not somebody you
- 9:50can ask my former English teachers.
- 9:52I'm not the best when it comes to to writing something
- 9:55together. ChatGPT is a very good friend of
- 9:58mine when it comes to that. So what's that process like?
- 10:00Because I imagine like if I sat down and tried to put a book
- 10:05together, like you mentioned, this is not a super long book.
- 10:08It's not a huge read. It's not Harry Potter series and
- 10:10it's like 4 million pages, but, and that's a good thing because
- 10:13for, for me, when it comes to reading, I don't want a book
- 10:16that's going to take me 10 years to read it.
- 10:17I'm a slow reader and I I can't write anything.
- 10:20So explain that. What's the process like?
- 10:22What for me, I imagine it's difficult to just start.
- 10:25Like starting for me seems like it would be the hardest part.
- 10:29Yeah. So for us the the starting part
- 10:31was easy because me and John had actually done two or three
- 10:35episodes on these actual thought we had expanded them out.
- 10:39With the podcast. With the podcast, yeah.
- 10:41And so I took the, the transcripts from the podcast and
- 10:44began taking that and format it into a book.
- 10:48My wife, she's a grammar major. She, she went to school.
- 10:50She knows all the grammar stuff. So I put it all together in a
- 10:54cohesive format, added some things, took some things away.
- 10:57Because when you go from speaking to writing, it's
- 11:00completely different. And so we begin walking through
- 11:03all of that, gave it to her, a lot of other people to edit it,
- 11:06walk through that. And then of course, John, he
- 11:08took it and had to add more to his flair of edit as well.
- 11:12So but yeah, as far as getting going and getting started, I
- 11:16already have the framework. I already have the 8 chapters
- 11:19that that we walk through, the 8 stages there at the beginning.
- 11:23And so for me, it's just simply it was adding the context to all
- 11:27of what we were doing. Yeah.
- 11:28How do you find a, a someone to print this?
- 11:31Someone to publish it? What?
- 11:32What is that product? Look, I'm not an author, so I
- 11:35don't know how this process look like.
- 11:36Is this a pretty simple deal? Like how how has.
- 11:39That been Amazon makes it really easy.
- 11:41So Amazon's my publisher and so I self published through them
- 11:45through their website. And so I submitted the book, I
- 11:49created the graphics and my graphics design stuff, put it
- 11:52all through their selling their, their portal that they have.
- 11:57And so it's on Kindle, It's on hardback and paperback.
- 12:00You got the paperback copy there.
- 12:02And so you can go on there. The Kindle's $5, the paperback's
- 12:05$10 and the hardback's $15. They handle all the printing.
- 12:09And so they handle, if you click it, it'll be in your door in
- 12:13three days. And it prints from here from
- 12:15South Carolina at a printer and ships right to your house.
- 12:18I think on the very back of their last page there it says On
- 12:21the very back back page it shows where it's printed from the.
- 12:24The bottom Columbia South. Carolina, South Carolina,
- 12:26they've got a printer there in South Carolina.
- 12:28They print it immediately, glue it together, ship it here.
- 12:31It's crazy how well Amazon has made this process of publishing
- 12:36things really easy. I do have another publisher Bona
- 12:40Fides Media that is looking at picking up the book and
- 12:42publishing as well, putting it on their catalog.
- 12:45And so been talking to a couple of different organizations like
- 12:49that. So I've got about a minute or
- 12:51two here. Do do you, when you finish this
- 12:54after the process, does Alison, your wife, do you give this to
- 12:58her and say, hey, read this and make sure there's no mistakes or
- 13:00just she's an expert with that, right?
- 13:02So how do you do that? Because again, I'm thinking
- 13:06through myself and what I would experience this like, do you
- 13:09like I would be handing it off to several people and saying,
- 13:11hey, please proofread this before I send it out to the
- 13:14world. Did did you do that?
- 13:15Did. Did that she read it?
- 13:17I've been asked to write a second book called Freedom from
- 13:20Depression. A lot of people deal with
- 13:22depression and what that looks like.
- 13:24And so I've been working through that.
- 13:25So I just ordered the publisher copy.
- 13:27I can order my own publisher copy.
- 13:29And so she's been editing through that.
- 13:30And then that helps me see the the spacing, the lining that I
- 13:33get this part wrong when it's actually printed to go back in
- 13:36and fix that. That's awesome.
- 13:38Alright, we're going to talk a little more about this coming
- 13:40up. We'll switch to a little bit of
- 13:41music coming up here with one from Glen Campbell called
- 13:44Galveston. James Seifert, author of
- 13:45Brokenness to Freedom in the Studio Up here on the Hill W AM
- 13:50E it is real country 92.9 and 550 wame hanging out with James
- 13:55Seifrit in the studio. James, this is this is kind of
- 13:58fun, man. We're having a good time in
- 14:00here. I've missed hanging out with
- 14:01you, man. It's been.
- 14:01Great. Felt like I hadn't seen you in a
- 14:03while. We did take a trip back when the
- 14:07president was inaugurated. We went up to Washington.
- 14:10That was fun. Yeah.
- 14:11Great time there I'm. I'm a big history person.
- 14:15I love history. We were just talking about some
- 14:17things we've watched on Netflix and things like that about
- 14:22historical documentaries. I love that stuff.
- 14:24But it was cool because anytime, no matter who the president is,
- 14:28you get to see a president inaugurated.
- 14:30You get to see what that process is like.
- 14:32And that was a little unique. We got to be closer than most
- 14:34people because the parade and everything like that was all
- 14:38indoors. And so it was just a little bit
- 14:40different, very historical. So that was a lot of fun.
- 14:43I'm glad that we got to do that. Yeah.
- 14:45You know, one of the things is I was just not thinking about
- 14:47that. You said that, yeah, there were
- 14:49some things that happened at the inauguration.
- 14:52One, we didn't think we're going to get in because it moved to
- 14:55the indoors. I was cold.
- 14:57I remember my son, he's bundled up with all the different things
- 15:00and the hand warmers and but, but when we got to the
- 15:04inauguration hall and and we got to see it, Trump comes in with
- 15:07the family, the fanfare, all that fun stuff.
- 15:10As we were leaving, I don't even know if you know this or not,
- 15:13but as we were leaving, I got a, a friend, a text from a friend
- 15:16of mine who I'm a cigar guy. I have my cigar company as well.
- 15:20I think you know that, Bryson, but it's called the Four Freedom
- 15:23Cigar Company. And so he messaged me and said,
- 15:27hey, I just got an invite and a + 1 if you can make it.
- 15:32Charlie Kirk is going to be at this cigar lounge and he wants
- 15:35to have a cigar with us to talk through some things.
- 15:38Yeah. I'm like, man, I wish I could
- 15:39go. We all rode together and I
- 15:41wasn't going to we we have to be back the next day.
- 15:43We didn't have refill room or anything.
- 15:44So I just said, man, I can't make it, whatever.
- 15:47But that would have been, I mean, that was like 3-6 months
- 15:50before he was assassinated. So I had that opportunity and
- 15:54and passed up on it, but. Yeah, lots of historical moments
- 15:57that day that was it was just unique to see the process.
- 16:01And as I said, you know, anytime if you've got a chance, you
- 16:05know, you don't even have to support the guy.
- 16:06Like to see a presidential inauguration is a historic thing
- 16:10for I. Get to go back, I'll go back for
- 16:12another one. Absolutely.
- 16:13And and I would too. It was it.
- 16:14Was maybe women can send us. Yeah.
- 16:16Hey, there you go. Hey, give a plug to the big guy
- 16:18in there. A lot of remote from the
- 16:20inauguration. There you go.
- 16:22So yeah, that that was that was a lot of fun.
- 16:24So we've we've got to do a lot of cool stuff.
- 16:26We really have over the last eight or nine years or so.
- 16:29So we were talking off the air a little bit about what's next for
- 16:34you. And since you're now an author,
- 16:36which is really cool, you've got some some other ideas and some
- 16:39things that have affected your area and you have a personal
- 16:43connection to to certain things and recent things that have
- 16:46happened. And your next idea of for a
- 16:49book, you've mentioned freedom from depression.
- 16:51So this is kind of a Part 2 or or in connection with the first
- 16:55book? Or is this a completely separate
- 16:56project? Completely separate project,
- 16:59again with the name of the four freedom podcast.
- 17:01We we want to do things in the idea of freedom.
- 17:03So the four Freedom cigar Company, freedom from
- 17:06brokenness, from brokenness to freedom, what that looks like,
- 17:09but then freedom from depression.
- 17:11Depression is one of those things that people deal with,
- 17:14they struggle with on a daily basis, but some, some people
- 17:17never get over that. So how can we work through from
- 17:20a biblical worldview as a biblical counselor and a pastor,
- 17:23how do we work through how to set ourselves free from that
- 17:26depression? That state of depression is
- 17:28depression is talking about all the time throughout Scripture.
- 17:31There's antidotes about Scripture, there's helps that
- 17:34can be done. We know that the disciples
- 17:36suffered with some form of depression and anxiety when they
- 17:40went and hid after Jesus was crucified and was buried.
- 17:43I mean, they thought they were going to be next.
- 17:46And so you can see the angst and the depression that happened
- 17:49there. You can imagine what they would
- 17:50have went through. And so having them use some of
- 17:55those examples and, and walk through some scriptural things
- 17:57there is what we want to use to look at, to give help and and
- 18:01hope through scripture, through the gospel.
- 18:03So that's sort of where our mindset is looking through that.
- 18:06We discussed the forms of depression, what that looks
- 18:09like. Some depression is self-serve,
- 18:11right? You, you put yourself in that
- 18:13depression. Some are brought upon by other
- 18:15things by the outside world. And so we want to walk through
- 18:19that in that project. So yeah.
- 18:21Yeah, I like the idea. And, you know, I think that's
- 18:25something that more people go through than than you think
- 18:29because, you know, not everybody's openly talking about
- 18:31it, but I think everybody at some point in their life goes
- 18:34through a time that could, could lead to some, some depression.
- 18:38Maybe it's not severe. Some, you know, every,
- 18:40everybody's deal is different. But I think having a a unique
- 18:44way or a straightforward biblical way to look at that is
- 18:47something very important. So that's an interesting,
- 18:49interesting project that you've got in mind.
- 18:52So when you're writing these books, you know, you talked a
- 18:55little bit about the idea of the first one, but do you feel after
- 18:59writing the first one and and seeing it have a little bit of
- 19:01success, do you feel like this is something you're outside of
- 19:04this next thing that you have in mind?
- 19:06Is this something you want to do moving forward?
- 19:08Did you enjoy this? Do you do you like to to write
- 19:11now? I wouldn't say I enjoy writing,
- 19:14but I enjoy helping people and that's where the drive is.
- 19:18How can I help more people? You know, with the podcast
- 19:21platform that helps people, but, you know, being able to sit down
- 19:25and sometimes put that thing together.
- 19:28I think we're going to talk about going to Israel.
- 19:30When I on my way back from Israel, I had a 14 hour flight.
- 19:34And so part of that writing was I had 14 hours.
- 19:37Do I write a little bit? Do I watch a movie?
- 19:39So part of that was done on a plane.
- 19:41And so that's cool using some of that time wisely with what we've
- 19:45got instead of just doom scroll on my phone or watching the
- 19:48movie in front of me. You know, I'm trying to be good
- 19:51stewards of what I've got there. So had some of that framework
- 19:54there, had some of the things taken care of and was able to
- 19:57really begin to that writing process and, and pretty much
- 19:59finished it up on that plane ride on the way back with my
- 20:03computer and pen and paper out and just working through that.
- 20:05So, you know, if if the ideas come, the Lord lays it on my
- 20:10heart to continue another book, by all means.
- 20:13What happened? This one again came out of some
- 20:16circumstances that happened in Wilkes County.
- 20:19And so I began working through that.
- 20:22In a good world view mindset, so yeah.
- 20:24Yeah, I love that you you mentioned your trip to Israel.
- 20:27You've been there twice now. And I, I really want to go back
- 20:31with you the third time because I know you're going to go back
- 20:33because I know you love it. Talk a little bit about that
- 20:37experience. And obviously there's a ton
- 20:40going on over there right now at the moment as as you and I are
- 20:43speaking. But but you went, this was a
- 20:46couple of months ago, but when did you go?
- 20:47This was back when. Yeah, I went in the end of
- 20:49January, beginning of February. So 3060 days ago is when we
- 20:54went. I went in 20, 2013, 2023, and
- 20:59then have the opportunity to lead a group this time in
- 21:01202620252026 And so we are looking at the end of 2027 into
- 21:092028 over the New year, celebrating the new Year in
- 21:11Israel. So about 20 months away to maybe
- 21:14take another group back. I've got maybe 10 or 12 signed
- 21:17up at the church already right now.
- 21:19But man, the, the experience was fantastic.
- 21:22Fly into Jerusalem there in Tel Aviv.
- 21:26We spent the first day just as we landed.
- 21:29We did a site there in Joppa and then went down to the Sea of
- 21:33Galilee. We spent three days in the Sea
- 21:34of Galilee and then three days in Jerusalem in the Old City.
- 21:39I got to experience, I think 40 or 45 different sites that are
- 21:43mentioned in the Bible. Some of those sites are overlap
- 21:46a little bit and an Old Testament, New Testament.
- 21:48But man, what an experience. It was the second time for me
- 21:52because I, you know, I've been the first time and my mind was
- 21:55just overwhelmed. But I told people, I said the
- 21:58first time I went, I sort of lived behind three different
- 22:00screens. I had my phone out, I had a
- 22:03GoPro from Joseph Smithy. I had the the Nikon camera that
- 22:07I had. So I'm like got three different
- 22:09phone cameras are going. I'm trying to record everything.
- 22:11I didn't want to miss anything. Had an audio recorder out.
- 22:15So I lived every experience behind some form of screen.
- 22:18You were there, but you you were also not.
- 22:20I wanted to bring all that stuff back to, to share with people.
- 22:23So this time I said, you know, I'm going to go take the
- 22:25pictures, but then just sort of with my mind's eye, see it all
- 22:29in person. And man, I just, I got to see so
- 22:31much more, experience so much more, see things that I missed
- 22:35that I thought I would not miss. And so, but then also seeing the
- 22:39people that went with us their first time, their eyes light up
- 22:42when they see all this is where Jesus made that statement.
- 22:45This is where this happened. These are the things that, yeah.
- 22:48So man, it's a great time to go. Not right now.
- 22:51Right now the, the, the wars going on, most of the area is,
- 22:57is contained North and South. Now every once in a while
- 23:01they're getting bombs in the old city that are just, you know,
- 23:04deflected bombs. Nothing's going off.
- 23:06I've got a couple of guys that are there that I talk to
- 23:08regularly. One of our guides, he, she lives
- 23:11in the Sea of Galilee. Nothing is going on there.
- 23:14So just different portions are happening as always so.
- 23:19I have heard there there was a teacher that said you made me
- 23:24think of this when you talked about living through a phone
- 23:26screen. He's, he told us he was like, I
- 23:28challenge you next time you go to a concert or a ball game or
- 23:31something, just don't get your phone out.
- 23:33So I have started this habit of, you know, I'm a big Carolina
- 23:37fan, went to a couple of Carolina basketball games this
- 23:39year, which probably wasted some of my money, but we still still
- 23:42went and had a great time. But I look back and I'm, you
- 23:45know, I'm like, man, I kind of wish I'd have had a few more
- 23:47pictures, but at the same time, I can relive the experience
- 23:50better in my head. So I imagine that's the same
- 23:53effect that you had on the second time around.
- 23:54And I've always heard that being able to to put things you, these
- 24:00biblical stories that you hear about when you're a kid and all
- 24:02of these things into a first hand, first person perspective
- 24:06where you're seeing it and you're touching it, you're there
- 24:08standing on the ground. I've always heard that is an
- 24:11incredible experience. Yeah, it very much isn't a great
- 24:14experience. It's eye opening to say the
- 24:17least when you get to do that. And it really it's it's a
- 24:22cliche, but cliches are true because it's real.
- 24:26But the Bible goes from black and white to full color when you
- 24:30begin to see that. And there's not a day I read my
- 24:32Bible or preach that I'm not giving some illustration from
- 24:36the Holy lands because, you know, I've been there.
- 24:37I've been able to see this is what it looks like.
- 24:40Even this past Sunday I talked about we are the Vine or we are
- 24:42the branches, Jesus of the Vine and and how Jesus would have
- 24:46gave that illustration as he was teaching.
- 24:48Yeah, well, I love it. All right, so that's James
- 24:50Seifert. James, thanks for coming in and
- 24:52hanging out. This has been really cool.
- 24:54It's good. It feels like the old days when
- 24:56we had the podcast and we were, I had not one clue what I was
- 25:00doing, but but we learned a lot. So thanks for that.
