- 0:18Speaker 2: here's Bill handle silloween.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Good morning everybody, Yes it is. It is Halloween Friday,
- 0:27Speaker 1: October thirty first and the Hunts are with us? All right, Now,
- 0:34Speaker 1: let's see who actually dressed in costume. To two of
- 0:36Speaker 1: us dressed in costume. First of all, Heather, Heather, you
- 0:41Speaker 1: are Marcel Marceau.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I am mime. Hello, yeah, white gloves.
- 0:46Speaker 1: But great for radio, yeah right, perfect for radio. Yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: good morning, you're with us? I know today obviously. Are
- 0:53Speaker 1: you here on Monday too?
- 0:54Speaker 3: I'm here?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yes, okay, and so Amy comes back on Tuesday if
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Yes. Are you ready to get rid of me? Oh yeah?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Dareo Kono surprisingly is dressed up as Ted
- 1:09Speaker 1: Kasinski with his uh sweatshirt, hoodie and his baseball cap,
- 1:14Speaker 1: which he never dresses that way.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Yes, thank you, Yeah, you're welcome. Yeah, in an Empire uniform.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I guess it is. And Neil, you're dressed.
- 1:24Speaker 4: I get lazy and every year I dresses George Clooney.
- 1:27Speaker 4: I just at the last minute, I go, okay, just
- 1:29Speaker 4: throwing a T shirt, and.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Uh it works, Yeah, it works.
- 1:33Speaker 5: It's just it's easy.
- 1:35Speaker 4: I know it's late, but it's just uh, you know,
- 1:37Speaker 4: you roll out of bed, you throw on a T shirt.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean exactly that sweat shirt. Well, yeah, that's
- 1:42Speaker 1: what I'm going to do today is T shirt. But
- 1:44Speaker 1: it's going to be one of those colorful T shirts.
- 1:46Speaker 1: There's a block party at my house and with in
- 1:49Speaker 1: the neighborhood in front of our house, so I'm putting
- 1:52Speaker 1: on throwing on one of them. Coming as a pirate,
- 1:54Speaker 1: you know those T shirts that are printed with the
- 1:56Speaker 1: pirate stuff on it. Nice. Yeah, just that. And and
- 2:00Speaker 1: Dana Will is dressing up as he always does, a
- 2:04Speaker 1: weather guy in the morning and a T shirt and
- 2:06Speaker 1: nothing else Tourney Will. The camera doesn't go down that hand,
- 2:11Speaker 1: I can't tell. I'll tell you one thing. I know.
- 2:13Speaker 1: The camera doesn't go that far because during the summer,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I look down, I go, well, there they are, you know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: the bell ringers are in action.
- 2:21Speaker 4: And Will does traffic now not weather, but oh yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 4: Will does traffic.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah I know. And there's Ann good morning, Anne good Man.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And that's everybody now moving over to head. There are
- 2:34Speaker 1: a couple of things. First of all, I went as
- 2:37Speaker 1: you went, leaving the morning at the five o'clock hour
- 2:41Speaker 1: and into our show. I notice you said that you
- 2:45Speaker 1: dress up, even by yourself, you dress up. Yes, that
- 2:49Speaker 1: when you are by yourself, you dress up.
- 2:52Speaker 3: No, I mean, did I say I dress up?
- 2:55Speaker 1: You did? You said, yeah, you did. You talked about
- 2:57Speaker 1: how you know I do that too, I mean I
- 2:59Speaker 1: dress up by myself. Down in the room, I said,
- 3:02Speaker 1: I like to broadcast a lot of heels. I like
- 3:05Speaker 1: to have sex alone. I mean it's.
- 3:09Speaker 6: Yeah, listen, it's Halloween. We don't need to scare people
- 3:11Speaker 6: quite so early though.
- 3:12Speaker 1: All right, and how was the show last night? I know,
- 3:15Speaker 1: what did your stand up?
- 3:16Speaker 6: I mean literally, after you guys talked about it on
- 3:19Speaker 6: the bill Handles show, we started selling tickets left and right.
- 3:23Speaker 6: It was almost a sold out show, just as a
- 3:25Speaker 6: fantastic just a couple of seats left. So thank you
- 3:27Speaker 6: so much for mentioning. I really appreciate it.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It was fun. It was fun. We had a great crowd.
- 3:32Speaker 6: I tried to limit the swears as best I could,
- 3:35Speaker 6: but you know, it is.
- 3:36Speaker 3: What it is.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you that was telling Anne there was no problem pitching.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Whenever you're on, We'll be moarn happy to pitch it.
- 3:43Speaker 1: What we do on the show.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Thank you. I appreciate it. It was a fun show.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 3:46Speaker 6: And I also had I think there were some bill
- 3:48Speaker 6: handlefans shows people that came out.
- 3:50Speaker 3: They were like, hey fu, so it was cool.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Oh okay, Well there are some people still alive that
- 3:58Speaker 1: yelled at not very old. How many of them here's
- 4:00Speaker 1: the question, how many of those they fight? We're we're
- 4:04Speaker 1: using walkers, quite a.
- 4:06Speaker 6: Few, none, none of them. They are all, I would say,
- 4:09Speaker 6: middle aged.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Middle age. That's very generous of you, middle age. If
- 4:14Speaker 1: you look at our demographics, our demographics have gotten older
- 4:18Speaker 1: with us, and so now we used to be and
- 4:21Speaker 1: this is inside baseball, our demographics that used to be
- 4:26Speaker 1: thirty five to fifty four was our suitet spot where
- 4:29Speaker 1: this was where we wanted to broadcast, and that's where
- 4:32Speaker 1: we wanted listeners. Traditionally is twenty five fifty four. These
- 4:36Speaker 1: are the age brackets. Ours was thirty five to fifty four.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Now we're sixty five to death on your show on KFI.
- 4:46Speaker 1: In general, I think I think we do I think
- 4:49Speaker 1: we do skew the oldest.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Well, I think we do radio, and well it's a
- 4:52Speaker 3: given too.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But I'm talking. I'm talking about on a KFI. I
- 4:55Speaker 1: think we skewed the oldest.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I know.
- 4:59Speaker 6: I talked about last time I'm a stand up show
- 5:00Speaker 6: about AM radio and I was like, does everyone know
- 5:02Speaker 6: what AM radio was?
- 5:03Speaker 1: And it was like nobody, Yeah, two people. So Neil
- 5:09Speaker 1: used to be in management, and you have to have
- 5:11Speaker 1: noticed that our audience is old. Your audience.
- 5:18Speaker 6: No, when I'm cleaning through the talkbacks, they're not as
- 5:22Speaker 6: old as I think you think they are. There are
- 5:24Speaker 6: a lot of young quipper snappers that are still listening
- 5:27Speaker 6: to this show.
- 5:27Speaker 1: They you know, people used to come up to me,
- 5:30Speaker 1: people used to come up to me. Well, they always
- 5:32Speaker 1: still they still do to some extent. And that is
- 5:34Speaker 1: Hey Bill, I've been listening for ten years, Hey, thanks
- 5:37Speaker 1: very much. And then it was like, hey, I've been
- 5:39Speaker 1: listening to you for fifteen years ago, Wow, thank you.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And then it was the twenty year mark and say
- 5:44Speaker 1: that's great. By twenty five years, I'm telling them shut up.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Now it's hey Bill, I've been listening to you too,
- 5:51Speaker 1: four and I don't let them get beyond that. Shut up.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I don't want to hear it. The other thing I get,
- 5:56Speaker 1: which I really enjoy, is someone in their twenties and thirties. Hey,
- 6:00Speaker 1: my mom and dad love you. What do you mean
- 6:03Speaker 1: my mom? Your mom and dad love you, listen to
- 6:06Speaker 1: you all the time. How about your grandparents? Oh, they
- 6:08Speaker 1: love you even more. My favorite exactly is smiling.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Oh we keep you on at the home.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And oh she full born in Handle we call now.
- 6:23Speaker 1: There's there's a couple of times that this has happened,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and this is actually very moving. Uh, this is no
- 6:29Speaker 1: bs is Uh. I have been on a couple of occasions,
- 6:32Speaker 1: two or three occasions, people have come up to me
- 6:35Speaker 1: and said, my uncle or my dad or mom, Uh
- 6:39Speaker 1: were they just passed away and they were having the
- 6:42Speaker 1: last six months of their life was horrible? And you,
- 6:45Speaker 1: that is you on the morning team made uh their
- 6:50Speaker 1: their last few months uh livable And then every morning
- 6:53Speaker 1: they would listen to you. That was kind of moving.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And then you want to hear a couple of real
- 6:56Speaker 1: sick ones. Uh. There was one in particular, I remember
- 7:00Speaker 1: that a listener was buried with a radio in the
- 7:04Speaker 1: coffin that was on to KFI.
- 7:09Speaker 5: What that's not sick. That's kind of sweet. It is sweet.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I think it's kind of sick.
- 7:14Speaker 3: But uh, what show was on?
- 7:18Speaker 1: I think I think it was the entire KFI one. Yeah,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and I'm assuming. Yeah. Can you imagine you're burying someone
- 7:24Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, you're going past and there's
- 7:25Speaker 1: a graveyard and you're hearing KFI on it. That's when
- 7:28Speaker 1: you really get frightened.
- 7:29Speaker 4: When you kick it, I'm gonna put, you know, a
- 7:34Speaker 4: streaming device in with you and it's just going to
- 7:36Speaker 4: be doing podcasts from the John Cobelt Show.
- 7:39Speaker 1: That's perfect, over and.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Over and over.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Okay, guys, that's enough. Uh yeah, we'll end it at
- 7:44Speaker 1: that point. We still have a whole lot to cover,
- 7:48Speaker 1: and so let's do it. It's time for Handle on
- 7:51Speaker 1: the News with Heather Brooker in for Amy Today. Neil
- 7:54Speaker 1: and me lead story. Yeah, this story is that now
- 8:02Speaker 1: it's getting some serious legs because the property owners and
- 8:08Speaker 1: the renters and the owners of businesses and the Palisades
- 8:13Speaker 1: fire who lost everything all of a sudden. I think
- 8:17Speaker 1: they're suing the city and actually getting a case for
- 8:21Speaker 1: it in the city. I think this isn't to make
- 8:23Speaker 1: go bankrupt on this one because it turned out that
- 8:26Speaker 1: that fire was originally a small fire in the Palisades
- 8:34Speaker 1: and it was taken it. I was only eight acres
- 8:36Speaker 1: and it was put out, and there was still smoldering
- 8:39Speaker 1: debris there, hot rocks, and the firefighter said, we have
- 8:43Speaker 1: to take these out. We have to stay here, make
- 8:45Speaker 1: sure everything is out and extinguished. And the battalion chief said, no,
- 8:50Speaker 1: get out. Now.
- 8:51Speaker 5: They're not naming the battalion chief.
- 8:53Speaker 1: No, they won't at this point. I mean, it'll happen
- 8:56Speaker 1: because he's going to be sued or she is going
- 8:58Speaker 1: to be sued personally. But if it turns out that
- 9:01Speaker 1: they can connect the Palisades fire to that fire, and
- 9:06Speaker 1: there seems to be the connection because that's where it ignited,
- 9:10Speaker 1: then you have pure negligence. Why did you in light
- 9:14Speaker 1: of the fact that you were told that they have
- 9:18Speaker 1: to stay and put out the smouldering fires, the hawks,
- 9:21Speaker 1: the rocks were even still very hot and you pulled
- 9:24Speaker 1: them out.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Why And they have the technology obviously to be able
- 9:28Speaker 4: to look and see where the hotspots are, and from
- 9:31Speaker 4: what they're saying, they didn't even bring that out.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, how about putting your hand? Yeah, it was just
- 9:35Speaker 1: crazy and so now the city, if the city is
- 9:39Speaker 1: going to be held responsible, the city's bankrupt. It's that simple.
- 9:43Speaker 1: The city is bankrupt. How do you pay off sixteen
- 9:45Speaker 1: thousand homeowners? How do you pay off homes in along
- 9:50Speaker 1: Malibu along the sea, you know, Malibu on the seaside
- 9:56Speaker 1: of Malibu, that are twelve million dollars apiece? How do
- 10:01Speaker 1: you pay those off? And there's hundreds of those? All right?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Moving on? All right?
- 10:12Speaker 6: So President Trump has called for an end of the
- 10:14Speaker 6: filibuster to break the stalemate that's going on right now.
- 10:18Speaker 6: He's telling the Republicans to shut down the shutdown basically
- 10:23Speaker 6: to play the quote Trump card. This is what he
- 10:25Speaker 6: posted on social media, and he called it the nuclear
- 10:29Speaker 6: option to get rid of the filibuster, and get rid
- 10:32Speaker 6: of it now.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Now, the filibuster, it is the nuclear option. They did
- 10:36Speaker 1: that with the Supreme Court justices, and that is the filibuster,
- 10:40Speaker 1: which you then need sixty votes in the Senate to
- 10:43Speaker 1: override the filibuster, which effectively means that senators from the
- 10:47Speaker 1: opposite party can just shut down any bill that's going
- 10:49Speaker 1: through that you can filibuster through, and so it gives
- 10:52Speaker 1: the opposing party some ammunition when you get rid of
- 10:56Speaker 1: the filibuster, it's a straight majority. You have one more
- 10:58Speaker 1: than the majority, and you've got it. They did that
- 11:02Speaker 1: with the Supreme Court justices get rid of the filibuster.
- 11:05Speaker 1: But that makes sense because Supreme Court justices lasts for
- 11:09Speaker 1: thirty thirty five years. Now this does not. So what's
- 11:13Speaker 1: happening is if they go So I see where I
- 11:17Speaker 1: conflated it, because we're talking about snap funding and this
- 11:20Speaker 1: is just another one. Okay, the school system is going
- 11:23Speaker 1: to do snap funding, Okay, fair enough, I say it's yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 1: And the kids are all going to write thank you
- 11:30Speaker 1: cards and unfortunately, because it's LAUSD, they're gonna misspell thank you. Okay.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So now I went to la USD and now everybody
- 11:40Speaker 1: graduates with a certificate of illiteracy. The school system isn't
- 11:45Speaker 1: so good anymore.
- 11:46Speaker 3: And look at you now, big time radio hosts.
- 11:48Speaker 4: We have the former president of the company, Greg Ashlock,
- 11:53Speaker 4: who I dore, who would sign his emails th X,
- 12:00Speaker 4: And I'm like, thinks that's what thinks.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Like just putting a couple of letters in there was
- 12:04Speaker 5: going to be too much.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I've never understood, Uh, okay, I've never understood this.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The only thing I do understand is a WTF. That
- 12:12Speaker 1: one I get, But everything else I do not understand.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Blue Literally you got fifteen people were taken to a
- 12:22Speaker 4: hospital after a drop in altitude. I've never experienced that
- 12:26Speaker 4: on a Planet's fun.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It's fun. You know, when they tell you to buckle
- 12:30Speaker 1: your seat belt while you're sitting down, that's a good idea.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I don't know why they don't make it. Why don't
- 12:35Speaker 1: they make it mandatory. I don't get why they don't
- 12:38Speaker 1: say you have to on takeoff and landing you have
- 12:40Speaker 1: to buckle your seat belt. You can't go to the
- 12:44Speaker 1: restroom when that little light is on. Well, I don't
- 12:48Speaker 1: get why it isn't absolutely necessary because you get these
- 12:51Speaker 1: drops in uh in altitude and they go thousands of feet.
- 12:55Speaker 5: Man, this then you're help.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like an elevator, a very very fast elevator.
- 13:02Speaker 4: So they were traveling to Cancun, Mexico. From cantcuon, Mexico
- 13:06Speaker 4: to Newark, New Jersey. That sounds like a horrible decision.
- 13:10Speaker 1: If they are coming back.
- 13:11Speaker 4: They experienced this drop in altitude and they had to
- 13:15Speaker 4: turn things around and people were hospitalized.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I'm assuming they bumped their heads somewhere and.
- 13:19Speaker 1: It was okay, I'm assuming they did if they weren't
- 13:22Speaker 1: buckled in. Yeah. Now, thank god it wasn't coming back
- 13:25Speaker 1: from CanCon from Mexico because there'd been vomit all over
- 13:28Speaker 1: the inside of that airplane. Value judgment. Okay, moving on.
- 13:32Speaker 6: That happened to me and from New Orleans on a
- 13:34Speaker 6: floor to throw up, from New Orleans to Tulsa, will
- 13:38Speaker 6: I have never had so many regrets?
- 13:41Speaker 3: All right, Ice says there was a man who was
- 13:44Speaker 3: shot hardon me. I am excuse me one second.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Well, mins aren't supposed to use their voice, so it's
- 13:51Speaker 4: it's totally okay.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, my voice just completely get out of me.
- 13:55Speaker 1: No, you have to well, you know what you have
- 13:56Speaker 1: to do. You have to broadcast out of the box.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Think, hold on, nobody can see this comedy that's happening
- 14:04Speaker 6: right now.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Sometimes in life you're just going against the wind there.
- 14:09Speaker 6: All right, moving on, all right, Ice Operation Ontario turned
- 14:12Speaker 6: violent after a man was shot by ICE agents and
- 14:14Speaker 6: then fled the scene.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Just let them do their job for now and vote
- 14:21Speaker 5: with your votes. Yeah, you can protest. You're getting hurt
- 14:25Speaker 5: for no reason.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but don't get involved. You're hurting your own you're
- 14:29Speaker 1: hurting your own argument. You're hurting your side by getting
- 14:32Speaker 1: involved in shooting or throwing rocks or bottles at ICE agents.
- 14:37Speaker 6: Well, I said, this man wasn't their original target. They
- 14:40Speaker 6: were conducting a traffic stop and this driver drove up
- 14:43Speaker 6: and then drove up into his car reverse and trying.
- 14:47Speaker 1: The case though, when you see the protesters are surrounding
- 14:49Speaker 1: ICE agents that are picking people up, that's usually the case.
- 14:55Speaker 1: All right, here's an nan or naner for Neil. Why
- 14:59Speaker 1: don't you you do this one.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I'm not doing it as a popularity contest bub and
- 15:04Speaker 4: it exactly what this is, buddy, and on it you
- 15:07Speaker 4: wing not Yeah, this is a popularity.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Californians so smart.
- 15:11Speaker 4: The same ones that voted for a high speed Trained
- 15:15Speaker 4: to Nowhere bell H seemed to be overwhelmingly leaning to
- 15:20Speaker 4: Prop fifty, going against their very constitution.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Go figure.
- 15:25Speaker 4: So two new polls coming out and it's not about
- 15:28Speaker 4: whether this was going to pass. I think anything that
- 15:30Speaker 4: has a D behind it California pass.
- 15:33Speaker 1: It's not necessarily true, by the way, going against their constitution.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I don't think there is an election cycle that doesn't
- 15:39Speaker 1: change the Constitution of California. We do that all of
- 15:43Speaker 1: the time. The California Constitution is over five hundred pages.
- 15:46Speaker 1: No one has any idea what's in it. Well, that
- 15:48Speaker 1: argument doesn't. So that argument doesn't hold water. Bub does it?
- 15:53Speaker 4: No bub, then it means that our the California Constitution
- 15:57Speaker 4: is crap.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Well that may be, but for example, the input, the
- 16:01Speaker 1: implot the implementation of that, that independent council that was
- 16:07Speaker 1: put up that people say we have to keep on
- 16:10Speaker 1: doing that, that was put up to change the constitution.
- 16:13Speaker 1: So this, of course Prop. Fifty is about allowing the
- 16:16Speaker 1: state legislature to redistrict and taking it away from the
- 16:19Speaker 1: independent constitution, the independent commission to fight Texas and North
- 16:24Speaker 1: Carolina who are doing that?
- 16:26Speaker 4: Who was fighting Illinois in twenty twenty and New Mexico
- 16:30Speaker 4: in twenty twenty one.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's it has become political. And that's exactly
- 16:34Speaker 1: what happens if you don't have independent commissions all over
- 16:37Speaker 1: the country. All right, moving on, can go there, all
- 16:40Speaker 1: old people, Okay, we're going to go there and yeah, yeah, okay,
- 16:42Speaker 1: you and I are on opposite side of that one.
- 16:44Speaker 6: Okay, all right, Prince Andrew has been stripped of his
- 16:47Speaker 6: titles and forced out of his royal mansion after the
- 16:50Speaker 6: ongoing fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. He will now
- 16:54Speaker 6: be known as Andrew Mountain Batton Windsor, and apparently he
- 16:59Speaker 6: will moved to a property on the Sandringham State. The
- 17:02Speaker 6: family of the late Virginia Jeffrey, who accused him of
- 17:06Speaker 6: sexually assaulting her when she was seventeen, set in a
- 17:08Speaker 6: statement to the BBC that she brought down a British
- 17:12Speaker 6: prince with her truth, an extraordinary courage.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, he kept on saying he had almost nothing to
- 17:17Speaker 1: do with Epstein, and then that picture of him with Epstein,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and then that ridiculous interview. Oh, I never remember being
- 17:24Speaker 1: anywhere near Epstein. And there is all the testimony and
- 17:27Speaker 1: the pictures, and now we're finding out, right, and now
- 17:31Speaker 1: we're finding out that Epstein and Prince Andrew, Andrew was
- 17:35Speaker 1: basically sloppy seconds with virtually everything that that Epstein was
- 17:40Speaker 1: involved with. And so he is no longer Prince Andrew.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He's done. He is now just going to be a
- 17:47Speaker 1: regular guy, Andrew mount Benton Windsor in the Andrew Silly
- 17:52Speaker 1: Dirty Yrvy pack.
- 17:53Speaker 6: Well, actually the regular guy who lives in the Standringham estate,
- 17:56Speaker 6: which is a.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Well not anymore, not anymore, not anymore. Look at look that.
- 18:00Speaker 3: He's moving to it though, that's what it says.
- 18:02Speaker 1: He's moving to sandring Him.
- 18:04Speaker 6: Yes, they're moving him out of his Royal Lodge mansion
- 18:06Speaker 6: in Windsor to the.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Windsor Is on the grounds of Windsor property. Yeah. Yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 1: but he's gonna have to pay regular rent because it
- 18:14Speaker 1: was given to him on Windsor I believe or he
- 18:16Speaker 1: paid nominal rent. Also as King Charles and Royalty, the
- 18:21Speaker 1: royal family Charles and Camilla said he is no longer
- 18:25Speaker 1: prince and he's no longer Duke of York. He will
- 18:28Speaker 1: now be known as Andy Baby.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Imagine having to imagine having to do that to your brother.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Oh, I'm sure he has no problem with that. Imagine
- 18:36Speaker 4: you're having to find out about your brother.
- 18:38Speaker 3: And Andrew.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Andrews an interesting guy. You know. During the Falklands War, Uh,
- 18:43Speaker 1: he was a helicopter pilot and was rescuing people that
- 18:48Speaker 1: was ressing British soldiers and he was in combat, I
- 18:51Speaker 1: mean real combat flying a helicopter. So uh, you know,
- 18:55Speaker 1: he had a great reputation in Epstein and went into
- 18:58Speaker 1: the toilet.
- 18:58Speaker 4: All right, I think they were Steve. He was excited
- 19:00Speaker 4: when they said, hey, you're getting stripped today.
- 19:03Speaker 1: That's very strong, except when you found out what it
- 19:06Speaker 1: really meant. Okay, all right, one massive tech block.
- 19:10Speaker 4: You've got more than fourteen hundred nurses going on strike
- 19:13Speaker 4: at USC's Kech Hospital and they've walked off jobs onto
- 19:19Speaker 4: this picket lines just yesterday.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Contract talks are going on.
- 19:24Speaker 4: But you know this great, great center, you know, the fantastic,
- 19:30Speaker 4: fantastic hospital USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, high.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Very high end. Yeah, we were talking about, you know,
- 19:40Speaker 1: the hospital and good for them, you know. For a
- 19:42Speaker 1: PR move went up to one of the patients who
- 19:46Speaker 1: needed the care for nurses and said, what do you think?
- 19:50Speaker 4: Well, you know what I got to tell you. As
- 19:54Speaker 4: horrible as it is, you know, we're talking about the
- 19:56Speaker 4: SNAP program. How is it any different when you go
- 20:00Speaker 4: on strike in medicine?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Because there are enough management to take over for one day,
- 20:06Speaker 1: that's not a problem. So if they're to two days,
- 20:08Speaker 1: it's bad. You know, if it can go three day weeks,
- 20:10Speaker 1: it can go for weeks. This is not to shut
- 20:12Speaker 1: down the hospital. This is simply a statement, that's what
- 20:15Speaker 1: this is. One day strikes, or simply pay attention to us.
- 20:18Speaker 1: We've got an issue going on. That's one day strike.
- 20:21Speaker 1: So if it goes on and on, you're right, then
- 20:23Speaker 1: people really do suffer.
- 20:25Speaker 6: The NBA Board of Governors has unanimously approved Mark Walter's
- 20:29Speaker 6: bid to buy the Lakers, So it is official. Mark
- 20:33Speaker 6: Walters owns the Lakers. The Lakers were in the Bus
- 20:37Speaker 6: family since nineteen seventy nine, and Jenie Bus will be
- 20:42Speaker 6: on the team. She'll be the team's governor for at
- 20:44Speaker 6: least the next five years.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:47Speaker 1: So the Bus family has owned it for years and years.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Doctor Jerry Buss bought the Lakers originally for six dollars
- 20:52Speaker 1: or something. And look what he did to build it up.
- 20:55Speaker 1: What is he a doctor of By the way, I
- 20:57Speaker 1: know he has a doctorate, but any love? Right, he's
- 21:02Speaker 1: the doctor of love.
- 21:04Speaker 6: So watch that series about him and about him buying
- 21:07Speaker 6: the Lakers story, Oh it was so good.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Uh, Okay, don't sell drugs to rich famous people's children.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Five alleged drug dealers facing felony charges right now. This
- 21:20Speaker 4: all centers around the involvement in the death of Leonardo
- 21:25Speaker 4: de Niro Rodriguez. That's the grandson of, of course, Robert
- 21:29Speaker 4: de Niro acting legend. And now a federal grand jury
- 21:33Speaker 4: in New York indicted the quintet quintet just on Tuesday,
- 21:39Speaker 4: so each had a single felony count of conspiracy to
- 21:42Speaker 4: distribute controlled substances that resulted in death.
- 21:48Speaker 6: All right, say, okay, LA plans to recycle enough water
- 21:54Speaker 6: to meet the needs of five hundred to thousand people.
- 21:57Speaker 6: They are going to double the size of a project
- 21:59Speaker 6: that would transform wastewater into purified drinking water. Their cycled
- 22:04Speaker 6: water is going to allow the city to stop taking
- 22:06Speaker 6: water from creeks that feed Mono Lake, and hopefully they're
- 22:10Speaker 6: saying that they're hoping this will resolve the long running
- 22:14Speaker 6: environmental conflicts that we have here with water issues.
- 22:19Speaker 3: All right, so.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Pretty soon we're going to be using toilet water, which
- 22:23Speaker 1: incidentally they use at this on the space station and
- 22:27Speaker 1: they take your urination product and filtered and it's actually
- 22:33Speaker 1: the technology is there by the way where wastewater across
- 22:36Speaker 1: the board can be used. But people think it's not
- 22:39Speaker 1: particularly palatable, and.
- 22:42Speaker 6: If you don't know where it's been before exactly that
- 22:45Speaker 6: it's all a mental thing.
- 22:46Speaker 1: It is just don't drink lemonade that I would stay
- 22:52Speaker 1: away from.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Okay, I worked with kids from Africa before, and one
- 22:56Speaker 4: of the first questions they asked me, is it true
- 22:58Speaker 4: that you guys use clean water for your toilets. It's
- 23:03Speaker 4: an odd concept to people.
- 23:04Speaker 1: They didn't know. You're right, No, you're right.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Huh real quickly, last story, the biggest pile of BS
- 23:12Speaker 4: we could find this morning was Amazon chief executive Andy
- 23:16Speaker 4: Jasse's explanation for why they cut fourteen thousand people. It
- 23:21Speaker 4: wasn't really about money, not even AI but culture.
- 23:25Speaker 5: But culture.
- 23:26Speaker 1: It's a culture of money. Yeah, I just I'm missing
- 23:31Speaker 1: something here.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Well, they said the Amazon's quarterly sales grew thirteen percent
- 23:36Speaker 4: year on year to one hundred and eighty billion dollars.
- 23:40Speaker 4: But he explained that Amazon added they added head count
- 23:43Speaker 4: and locations and certain things like that.
- 23:45Speaker 5: But they're they're changing the culture. I guess.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they're changing the culture by hiring fewer people and
- 23:54Speaker 1: firing people. That one I don't understand, but you know,
- 23:57Speaker 1: so be it as opposed to, hey, we're saving money.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 24:01Speaker 4: The Frosty story didn't come out about that. It was AI,
- 24:04Speaker 4: that AI was more efficient in certain jobs.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And no I did. That's why they cut all those jobs,
- 24:09Speaker 1: and unfortunately entry level jobs. And the technology that Amazon
- 24:12Speaker 1: is implementing is insane, all of the technology. All right, guys,
- 24:16Speaker 1: we are done. KFI. It's true. KFI Am sixty. You've
