- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:42Hi, it's Adam here. And in today's episode of The
- 0:45Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:48that is designed to breakthrough this feeling of limitations or
- 0:54frustrations. And I was working with a client
- 0:57that because of certain confinements that they felt in a
- 1:02previous relationship, but also in a previous workspace, they
- 1:07were very vigilant about coercion and control and
- 1:12anything that felt restrictive, that actually created a feeling
- 1:17of wanting to get away from that.
- 1:20And there were certain situations that weren't that
- 1:23restrictive, but they focused on the restrictions and the feeling
- 1:28of being trapped or having a lack of options rather than all
- 1:33of the options within that thing.
- 1:35And a lot of people feel this desire to want to do things when
- 1:40they want to do it and when they need to do it.
- 1:43But actually, not everything needs a huge level of desire.
- 1:47Do you need 100% motivation to do your laundry or to brush your
- 1:54teeth? Like sometimes just doing it,
- 1:58even if you're not motivated is just a better way of doing it
- 2:02because it's it's more efficient.
- 2:04You just do the thing. So there's two key components to
- 2:07this. One is this feeling of being
- 2:10able to do what's necessary. But with discernment, just
- 2:13because something can be done doesn't mean it needs to be
- 2:16done. So it's really important that,
- 2:18you know, discipline is dovetailed with the discernment.
- 2:23That's the right word. I was going to say
- 2:25determination, but discipline with discernment and at the same
- 2:30time feeling that there is infinite possibilities even
- 2:34within a restriction. And there's two key metaphors,
- 2:37actually three key metaphors that I use here, but one of them
- 2:40is this idea of musical notes. There are only so many musical
- 2:43notes and yet infinite different music can be created.
- 2:47And there's a couple of other ones, but I won't spoil that for
- 2:49you. But if you like metaphorical
- 2:51hypnotherapy sessions, I think you'll get a lot of value from
- 2:54this. And it encourages people to
- 2:56explore beyond their limitations into new possibilities and to
- 3:01make the most of whatever limitations there are.
- 3:04I make a reference, for example, to the fact that you know,
- 3:0810,000 years from now it might be possible for humans to live
- 3:11on multiple different planets. Right now the only planet is
- 3:15possible to live on is Earth. But most people don't feel
- 3:18trapped on Earth. We just make the most of
- 3:20everything we can do on Earth and go back a few 100 years
- 3:24where it was rare or unusual for people to, you know, sail to a
- 3:29different part of the world. Most people made the most of
- 3:32their town, their village, their country.
- 3:35So there's always lots of choices and possibilities even
- 3:39with an even within a perceived restriction.
- 3:42So it's designed to be very empowering and for you to make
- 3:44the most of what you have, but also to venture beyond and
- 3:48explore new possibilities and opportunities.
- 3:50I think you'll like this one to find a quiet, comfortable place
- 3:53where you won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:12Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:22slow, long, relaxing breath and as you exhale, feel a wonderful
- 4:29sense of release as you start to let go of anything that is
- 4:38getting in the way of you going deeper, relaxed, maybe tension,
- 4:43thoughts, stress or worries. Just allow it to leave your body
- 4:48in the outward breath, breathing in relaxation and exhaling
- 5:00tension. Do you feel a wonderful sense of
- 5:07letting go? And use the power of your
- 5:13imagination to imagine how good it would be if you were
- 5:20exploring a secret garden. And maybe think of that secret
- 5:29garden with flowers and trees, all different plants, and maybe
- 5:42things to do in that garden. As you imagine that garden,
- 5:50imagine it on a sunny day, blue skies.
- 5:56Imagine the warmth of the sun on your skin.
- 6:01I want you to get a sense that this is a walled garden.
- 6:09And in this walled garden, there's so much that you can do.
- 6:17You could lie in the sun, smell the flowers, plant some new
- 6:23flowers, could relax and meditate.
- 6:31You could climb a tree or pick some fruit from a tree.
- 6:38I want you to get a sense that the walls of this garden are the
- 6:45restrictions, but there are endless possibilities of what
- 6:50you could do within the walls of those gardens 10,000 years from
- 7:03now. Maybe it's possible for humans
- 7:07to live on different planets, different parts of the Galaxy,
- 7:15but nobody feels trapped on planet Earth.
- 7:19We focus on the infinite possibilities within the
- 7:23restriction. As you explore this garden you
- 7:30realise there's so much you can do, but also that the walls may
- 7:39not be the end of what's possible.
- 7:47I want you to imagine exploring the garden and finding a hidden
- 7:50door behind some plant or Ivy. The door was always there, but
- 8:01you weren't looking for it or just didn't realise.
- 8:08So imagine standing in front of that hidden door that means you
- 8:14get to explore beyond the limitations.
- 8:19I will countdown from 5:00 to 1:00 and you will imagine
- 8:24opening this secret door and leaving the walled garden to new
- 8:32possibilities, knowing that you can always return to the garden.
- 8:39A garden of safety, security, and predictability whenever you
- 8:42choose. But the door represents a portal
- 8:47to possibilities. All those things you haven't
- 8:51done, haven't tried, don't know if you like, are good at all of
- 8:59those possibilities exist beyond.
- 9:03So standing in front of that secret door, 5 just putting your
- 9:08hand on the hand or four turning the hand or three opening the
- 9:11door, two walking through the door and one closing the door
- 9:17behind you and you've left The Secret Garden.
- 9:26I want you to imagine you are now in a grand open hall.
- 9:34It confuses you. How could you be outside and
- 9:36then inside? But this is just your
- 9:38imagination and this open hall is a place of creation, of
- 9:47infinite potential. And this hall is filled with
- 9:53musical instruments. I want you to get a sense that
- 10:01it also has blank canvases and vibrant colours.
- 10:06This hall is a hall of creativity, the elements of art,
- 10:12music and creation. And here perhaps you realise
- 10:18something profound. All the music that has ever been
- 10:24composed and ever will be composed has come from just a
- 10:28handful of notes. And yet from these notes
- 10:33infinite symphonies have been created.
- 10:38Entire lifetimes of expression have emerged, and all the
- 10:45greatest paintings, every masterpiece, every breathtaking
- 10:51work of art have been formed using a finite palette of
- 10:56colours. Yet No2 works are ever truly the
- 11:01same. Imagine reflecting on the
- 11:07meaning you give this, and perhaps the conclusion is that
- 11:13even within limitation and restrictions, there are infinite
- 11:19possibilities. Whatever the confines, the
- 11:26rules, there are always choices. And just as artists and
- 11:33composers are not bound by their tools, you 2 are never bound by
- 11:40your circumstances. I wonder if we can plant a seed
- 11:49of an idea in the garden that is your mind.
- 11:53That no matter where you are, no matter what the situation, you
- 11:58always have choices. Even in moments where it feels
- 12:04like your options are few. Your mind is vast.
- 12:10And even when the world presents obstacles, you carry within you
- 12:16the ability to navigate, to pivot, and to create new
- 12:21directions and pathways. You get a sense that you always
- 12:27have the power to say yes when you choose and know when it
- 12:31serves you. And not out of fear, not out of
- 12:37reaction or obligation, but out of discernment.
- 12:46Feel this seed being planted deeply in your mind, starting to
- 12:51sprout and grow like a new plant in your secret garden.
- 12:57And with it comes a new sense of clarity.
- 13:01And knowing that you do not need to react impulsively will be
- 13:07swept away by external forces. You are the author of your life.
- 13:16You are the composer of your music.
- 13:21You are the artist creating your masterpiece.
- 13:34When it feels the seed of an idea is forming a belief, A
- 13:40belief that the more you think about it, the truer it becomes.
- 13:43Let me know by nodding your head.
- 13:51Somewhere in this hall is another door.
- 13:53Not the door you entered, but a different door.
- 13:59A solid door. And perhaps you felt frustration
- 14:06before. Maybe it's a feeling of being
- 14:10stuck, as though the door would not open or it was locked and
- 14:16you didn't have the key. But perhaps you realise
- 14:22something new, something different.
- 14:25What if frustration is not a wall, but a clue, a sign that
- 14:31you are close to a breakthrough? Think of a musician struggling
- 14:44with a melody. Sometimes the struggle leads to
- 14:54an insight, a breakthrough that leads to a masterpiece.
- 15:02Writer's block is only frustrating if the block doesn't
- 15:06lead to a breakthrough. Every great writer experienced
- 15:12the block. The door was locked until it
- 15:16wasn't. And maybe it isn't desire that's
- 15:28the resource that you need. Maybe it's discipline,
- 15:33determination, or persistence. The willingness to do what needs
- 15:38to be done, whether you feel like it or not.
- 15:44Find within you the discipline to move forward, to either
- 15:51accept that the door is locked and find another door, or find
- 15:55the keys to the door so the door now opens.
- 16:05I want you to get a sense that from now on, frustration will
- 16:09make you smile, letting you know you're so close to a
- 16:13breakthrough. And the excitement, perhaps, is
- 16:20the very key you're looking for to give a new perspective, a new
- 16:25way of doing something in a different way.
- 16:27That means you're doing it on your terms.
- 16:33Your choices are the additional ingredient to make it work for
- 16:39you rather than against you. To do what you need to do when
- 16:45you need to do it. To act with precision, with
- 16:49wisdom, with intent, and to respond not from habit, from
- 16:55this deep, unshakable clarity. And what if that door in front
- 17:01of you is no longer an obstacle, but an invitation?
- 17:13So place your hand on the handle, and the door that was
- 17:19locked now opens easily. But what's interesting is when
- 17:26you walk through that locked door, it takes you back to your
- 17:30secret garden, back to where you already started, but back with
- 17:41more wisdom and back on your terms, still in the walled
- 17:46garden, this time of your choosing.
- 17:52I want you to get a sense then. Beliefs and thoughts are
- 17:57changing now. Things may stay as they were,
- 18:03but your perception of them will evolve, will change.
- 18:07New meanings, new associations opening up endless doors From
- 18:16the walled garden within your mind.
- 18:23Scan your body for what feels different, perhaps a lightness,
- 18:30an energy, a shift, additional clarity, and hold on to those
- 18:39feelings as we return to the present.
- 18:43Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 18:47nose. Swiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 18:52your toes. Connect fully with the here and
- 18:54now as I count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 19:00Starting to count 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7-8.
- 19:07Open your eyes. Open your eyes, 910.
- 19:10Wide awake, Wide awake, wide awake.
