Transcript
- 0:02OK, welcome back ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:05We are in episode 4 of the Take Two pod with Mum and Dad.
- 0:11I'm Dad. And I'm mom.
- 0:13The kids are down for the night and we are ready to do this
- 0:18podcast. Yeah, it's a little bit of a
- 0:20crazy night. I went and picked up our
- 0:23three-year old from daycare and I took him straight to the
- 0:26indoor playground. Why you asked?
- 0:29Because we're potty training and he likes to withhold poop
- 0:35instead of just going in his pants.
- 0:37To the point of Constipation. To the point of Constipation.
- 0:39It's been 3 days. So I took him to the indoor
- 0:42playground, which always gets him going.
- 0:44It did, yeah. We had some success, but it's
- 0:48really annoying and bad habit that he has, right?
- 0:50Now I got a picture of confirmation that he took a
- 0:53crap. It was graphic to say the least
- 0:58and the caption said the eagle has landed.
- 1:02Thank you very much for that. I'm just.
- 1:04Saying while next to me, one of my colleagues at work may have
- 1:08seen the photo and it was like, wow, this guy's into some weird
- 1:12shit. Pro tip, if you have a
- 1:14constipated kid, take them to an indoor playground because they
- 1:17will run and play and they will get things moving.
- 1:21Agreed. So I stand by it.
- 1:24Alright Mum, do you want to introduce the movie for episode
- 1:274? Drum roll, please.
- 1:32The most romantic disaster movie of all time, Titanic, released
- 1:37in 1997, directed of course by James Cameron and starring Kate
- 1:42Winslet, Leonardo Di Caprio and Billy Zane.
- 1:45Billy Insane, if I do say so myself.
- 1:49Yeah, we'll talk about him. All right, so the synopsis for
- 1:53Titanic, an epic romance disaster film detailing the 1912
- 1:59maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic.
- 2:03It follows 17 year old aristocrat Rose DeWitt Bukater,
- 2:08who falls in love with penniless artist Jack Dawson, defying her
- 2:12social class and fiance. Their romance turned to survival
- 2:17when the ship hits an iceberg and sinks, leading to Jax
- 2:21sacrifice. OK, that's a do it Picador.
- 2:26How about you do it later? You applicator do it because
- 2:29you're supposed to say like what?
- 2:30Like what? It sounds like a machine that
- 2:32does something that it's very. Strange, Jack jokes about.
- 2:35He's like, I have to write that one down.
- 2:37Yeah, do it. Because it's long.
- 2:38I gotta order a duplicator. The electricity is not working
- 2:44OK, box office uh, this movie in its initial run, it made 1.84
- 2:51billion with a B billion dollars and it was released about 20
- 2:59years later for January and it made another, I don't know,
- 3:03almost half a billion dollars. So now we're looking at 2.26
- 3:07billion as of 2024 and this movie held the number one spot
- 3:11for highest grossing movie of all time until James Cameron
- 3:16broke his own record with Avatar, the first Avatar.
- 3:20Yeah, which is another epic, epic romance.
- 3:23This movie came out in 1997. If you were around for that
- 3:26time, you know what craziness and hype this.
- 3:30Movie had around it everywhere. It was everywhere.
- 3:34It was in theatres forever. I mean, let's get into it.
- 3:38Yeah, let's do it. OK, so first date, when was the
- 3:42first time you watched this? Again, dad, you remember seeing
- 3:46movies for the first time. I, I was a kid, OK.
- 3:49I was pretty young kid. I do know that the first time I
- 3:53saw it was on VHS. It was on that, that double VHS
- 3:57that was so infamous with the light blue background and the
- 4:01two tapes. We owned that and that's how I
- 4:05saw it for the first time. And my best friend used to watch
- 4:08it. We we, we watched it several
- 4:10times together, me and my best friend.
- 4:11And we used to act out scenes after and she would be Rose and
- 4:14I always had to be Jack for some reason.
- 4:16OK, but I don't remember the first time I saw it.
- 4:19I just remember seeing it as a child way too young and acting
- 4:22out scenes that were very inappropriate for a child that
- 4:25young to be acting out. What?
- 4:28OK what? This got dark really quick.
- 4:30What scenes are you reenacting? Well, no, like it wasn't
- 4:33anything crazy sexual or anything.
- 4:35It's just we were saying dialogue from the.
- 4:38Movie. And we were like 6.
- 4:41Did you reenact the drawing scene?
- 4:44Probably. I don't remember specifically
- 4:46that I I remember specifically the spitting scene we.
- 4:49Do we're like 5 minutes in and it's already taken a turn?
- 4:53OK, so mom doesn't have a memory of any time she watched a movie
- 4:58for the first time. I guess as a kid I don't.
- 5:01I have ones as you would have. Been five years old 56.
- 5:04Yeah, I saw it. We got the VHS.
- 5:07We ordered. It actually came in the mail and
- 5:09I watched it. But we watched it so many times
- 5:12and me and my best friend watched it so many times.
- 5:13I I can't say what was the first time.
- 5:16OK, well, alright. My first time I remember it
- 5:21distinctly because I was about 8 years old.
- 5:23So this movie came out in 97 December of 97, and I went to
- 5:28the movie theatre with my mom and my two sisters because my
- 5:34sisters wanted to see it really badly.
- 5:36And they just dragged my mom along and I'm like, whatever.
- 5:39I'll because they would have been teenagers.
- 5:40Yeah, and I was a kid, so I'm like, oh, movies.
- 5:42Yeah, sure. So we went to the movie theatre.
- 5:45I remember which theatre we went to to this day and we went in
- 5:52and I'm a kid so I'm just like, oh, Titanic, the ship is going
- 5:55to sink, you know, disaster movie.
- 5:57And I remember watching it and I'm like this movie for an 8
- 6:02year old, was it boring? Because you see the Titanic on
- 6:04the screen. You're like, this is, you know,
- 6:07it's epic. It's a big ship, it's a big
- 6:10deal. You're just waiting for that
- 6:11moment in the movie where shit's about to go down you.
- 6:14Know it takes a turn. Yeah, man, there's a moment in
- 6:18the movie where Jack is sitting in a chair and Rose is basically
- 6:24getting naked, and I'm eight years old and she's about to
- 6:30drop her little. Little robe.
- 6:33Little robe onto the ground and I just see an adult sized hand
- 6:38come over my eyesight. Clamp over your eye.
- 6:42Clamp over my eyes so I don't see what is about to go down.
- 6:46And maybe I can. I mean, I think I tried to peek
- 6:50a little bit, but those hands were on there pretty tight.
- 6:53You didn't see any boobies? I I don't think I saw anything.
- 6:56So once it was over, the hand came off.
- 6:59And then later on in the movie, there's a scene in the car.
- 7:02And that scene as well, because it happened so abruptly, they
- 7:06didn't kind of ease into it like the drawing scene.
- 7:08Yeah, because they give you all the warnings.
- 7:11Like she literally says I want you to draw me like one of your
- 7:14French girls. Yeah, but anyway, it was, you
- 7:19know, those scenes, I was like, whoa, you're 8 years old and
- 7:23you're just like, what the hell is this?
- 7:24And then once it's over, the the fun can begin.
- 7:28The iceberg hits and then like, you know, shit starts to go
- 7:31down. So as an 8 year old, I remember
- 7:34it being epic. We didn't own it on VHS, but I
- 7:38remember the hype around this movie.
- 7:40Like people were losing their mind.
- 7:42I still remember watching on TV. When the VHS came out, it had a
- 7:47midnight release and people were lined up outside stores at
- 7:51midnight to get this movie, to get a copy of Titanic.
- 7:55Yeah, that's why my mom had to order it.
- 7:57Like, that's why I came in the mail for us.
- 7:59You couldn't get it anywhere. It was sold out everywhere.
- 8:01Wow, like in 9798 she just knew to order it in the mail.
- 8:06Like that was the thing. I don't it might have been like
- 8:08by the time I actually we actually had, it might have been
- 8:10like 1999. OK, so this movie was in
- 8:14theatres for a long time, but we'll get into that later.
- 8:16So yeah, that was my first time watching it long time ago, but I
- 8:20remember it like it was yesterday.
- 8:22So Mom, why do you like this movie or why do you not like
- 8:25this movie? I love this movie.
- 8:28This is another one that I deeply love, deeply entrenched
- 8:32in my childhood and my life, and I've seen it throughout so many
- 8:36different phases of my life. And it's a different movie every
- 8:39time. It's a different experience
- 8:40every time. You notice different things
- 8:41every time, depending on what era you're living.
- 8:46So it's very unique in that way. It's very well done and it's
- 8:51very iconic for the 90s, so I just, I have a love for it for
- 8:56those reasons. I'm going to be really cheesy
- 8:58here, but it's not a movie, it's an experience.
- 9:02If you've never seen Titanic from start to finish without
- 9:05interruption, but don't watch it on your phone, you know, on a
- 9:08laptop, sit down, watch it on a 50 inch TV, at least you know.
- 9:13Put your phone down. Don't put.
- 9:14Your phone down don't be scrolling and like looking at
- 9:17the TV and looking at your phone.
- 9:18This movie requires all your attention for three hours and 4,
- 9:228 minutes and it keeps every bit of it because, like I said, it's
- 9:27an experience. And every time you watch it,
- 9:31even though you've seen it a bunch of times, which I have,
- 9:33you hope you still like you're watching and you're like, I hope
- 9:37they make it off the ship. I hope they make it off the ship
- 9:40safely. And you know, and then halfway
- 9:43through, sometimes there's a flash forward and it takes you
- 9:46back to reality. It's almost like the stuff that
- 9:50happens in 1912. It's like a dream sequence when
- 9:54Old Lady Rose is telling her story.
- 9:56It seems like it's made-up. It's almost like a fairy tale.
- 9:59And then it cuts back to her being old and you're like, oh,
- 10:03it brings you back to Earth. It's really, it's a weird
- 10:06feeling. And I think it's just the
- 10:08pinnacle of James Cameron's work, even though I think
- 10:11Terminator 2 is like his peak. Don't worry, we'll we'll do an
- 10:14episode on that. But.
- 10:15But yeah, even with we know Rose survives because she's the one
- 10:19sharing the story with us. But the stakes are still so
- 10:22high. Everything we see her going
- 10:24through. Yeah, it doesn't.
- 10:26It doesn't take away her mortality knowing that she's
- 10:28telling the story. You're still fear for her life
- 10:32throughout the disaster. I jump, you jump, right, Jack
- 10:35Yes. So that's what our take.
- 10:37We both love this movie very much, as most people do.
- 10:41I don't know a lot of people that don't like it, and those
- 10:45people that don't make it can all fuck off.
- 10:47So that let's let's jump together into the segments.
- 10:51Wow, Well played. Well played.
- 10:54OK, go ahead. You wanna do cringiest moment or
- 10:56you want me to? Go first.
- 10:57I'd like to go first. OK, ladies first.
- 11:00The spitting scene, it's gross. I don't like when people spit in
- 11:04regular life. It offends me and the Hawking
- 11:10and the spitting. There's people around them
- 11:12looking. It doesn't really add much to
- 11:15the movie. I get that it's trying to like,
- 11:17add in some levity and some playfulness into their
- 11:19relationship. It's gross.
- 11:22Keep your spit in your mouth. It's cringy.
- 11:24OK. So for me that I picked the same
- 11:26scene. Yeah.
- 11:28Yeah. And for a couple of reasons.
- 11:29The spit is not even the cringiest part for me.
- 11:32It's Jack. Jack.
- 11:33Teacher ride like. No Jack, no bacco like a Maine.
- 11:38And spit like a man. What didn't teach you that in
- 11:41finishing? School No.
- 11:44Come on, I'll show you. Let's do it.
- 11:47I'll show you. How come?
- 11:48On Jack come. On quick Jack, possibly Jack,
- 11:53Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack. Like if there was a drinking
- 11:56game for how many times she says Jack or how many times Jack says
- 11:59Rose in this movie, you would be in the hospital.
- 12:03No, you would literally be deceased.
- 12:05Yeah, like you would be having food alcohol poisoning.
- 12:08Sorry, not food poisoning. You would have alcohol poisoning
- 12:10because this shit is crazy. They say Jack and Rose so many
- 12:14times. You're almost like, am I hearing
- 12:17this right? Well it's like some movies
- 12:19you're not at. You kind of forget what the main
- 12:21characters names are. You will never forget it.
- 12:24So I don't know why the James Cameron wrote this.
- 12:28I don't know why he did that, but this movie is a masterpiece.
- 12:31But there's some parts like what is he trying to accomplish here?
- 12:35I don't know. Maybe there's like some kind of
- 12:36method to his madness. But that whole sequence and then
- 12:39the following up with the spitting, it seems cringy and
- 12:44kind of unnecessary. And this bit when it drips on
- 12:46his chin, Yeah, you. It's not funny.
- 12:49It's like when she says what it is like to teach you how to ride
- 12:52like a man. And spit like a man.
- 12:55That's what starts it. I mean, it's supposed to be
- 12:58cute. It's kind of, it's not cute,
- 13:01It's cute, it's cringy, it is crazy.
- 13:02I love this movie but that scene.
- 13:05I have. I have something else that I put
- 13:07in this category. I don't think cringy is a strong
- 13:10enough word for it. OK, no, I'm serious.
- 13:14This is a serious thing in this movie.
- 13:18I didn't realize before this watching of it that she is 17
- 13:23years old. I always thought she was like 19
- 13:26or 20, but they said it in the movie this time and I heard it
- 13:30and I watched the movie knowing that, having that in my mind
- 13:32that she's 17. She is a 17 year old girl and
- 13:37Cal her fiance. How old do you think he is in
- 13:40this movie? I don't know 20. 530 years old.
- 13:44How do you know that? Because I looked it up.
- 13:47He's 30. He's 30 and Jack is 20.
- 13:51Both of them are fucking predators.
- 13:53She's a child. He's not a predator.
- 13:56He his no jacks more reasonable. No, she is a child.
- 14:01He's not afraid. You know why?
- 14:03I'll tell you why he goes for her, but she's engaged.
- 14:07This is off topic completely, but she's engaged and he goes
- 14:12for her. She's already locked in with
- 14:14Cow, even if she's unhappy. You've made this commitment to
- 14:18Cal, but you decide to go with Piscopo Joe over here.
- 14:25All right, calling Jack was a predator is a little
- 14:26heavy-handed, but she she is, she's a kid.
- 14:28She's literally three years older than one of our nieces.
- 14:31That's a kid. And that really changes the, IT
- 14:34changes the, the, the way I view the movie as a mother, OK,
- 14:39because she's a child. So that that sounds like
- 14:41something that belongs and cancelled or classic, but
- 14:44anyway. For for me, I just like I said,
- 14:47cringe is not a strong enough word for it, but it is
- 14:49distasteful. In the movie, Kate Winslet was
- 14:52actually 20 and she turned 21 on set, and Leo was actually 22, so
- 14:56they were both playing a few years younger than their true
- 14:58selves. But yeah, she was supposed to
- 15:02only be 17, very young. OK, but you have to look that up
- 15:06in the age of this movie came out there's no information of
- 15:08that and they. Say she's.
- 15:10Seven, I know, but you don't know how old, Cal.
- 15:12Is. I didn't know how old exactly
- 15:14so. You don't, you don't feel that
- 15:16like they don't look too far in age.
- 15:17So there's no like there's no predatorial vibe going.
- 15:21On no, there is, there always is, because he's obviously more
- 15:24of an adult than her and he was always a little bit creepy.
- 15:27Really. She doesn't look 17.
- 15:28She looks older. That's the thing I like.
- 15:30She seems like an adult in the movie but yeah if you watch. 197
- 15:34you don't have that outlook because there's no Internet for
- 15:36you to look this. Up right.
- 15:37But if you look closely, yeah, there there are things that are
- 15:41hinting that she's still a kid, and I'll go into that.
- 15:44Later. OK, for me, I would say so.
- 15:48The Jack, Jack, Jack. No Jack.
- 15:49Cringiest moment. Dinner scene is very cringey for
- 15:54me because Cal and Rose's mom are like really going after him
- 15:59trying to. Embarrass him?
- 16:00Uncomfortable. It's not supposed to be.
- 16:01Cringey. Yeah.
- 16:02It's, it's uncomfortable for me. And I would say like, it's a
- 16:04little cringy that you would do that to a dinner guest.
- 16:07Good humor and how is it you have means to.
- 16:10Travel, I work my way from place to place, you know tramp
- 16:14steamers and such. But I want my ticket on Titanic
- 16:17here and a lucky handed poker. A very lucky.
- 16:20Hand all life is a game of luck. Real man makes his own luck.
- 16:26Gotcha. Right, Dawson?
- 16:29And you find that sort of rootless existence appealing to
- 16:32you? Oh yes, ma'am, I do.
- 16:37It's really shitty like that. You are some fucking shitty.
- 16:41People are doing. That it's obvious.
- 16:42Yeah, they're really rude. And this guy drives through that
- 16:45inappropriate bullshit like a hot knife through butter.
- 16:48Like he just fucking. He makes you like him even more.
- 16:51Yeah, he is. He'll get into that later.
- 16:54OK, most iconic moment or quote giver.
- 16:57So I have a few. OK, you go first cause I have
- 17:01like a laundry list here. Go ahead.
- 17:03So for an iconic moment, the the hand smear on the back window of
- 17:07the car is very iconic, has been parodied many times.
- 17:12OK. But honestly, it's a little bit
- 17:14gross. Which what they're sweating.
- 17:16Yeah, it's sweaty and greasy and you smear your hand and then
- 17:19when they when they when they're looking for them and they go to
- 17:22the car and they flash the flashlight, they're still like
- 17:24this sweaty, greasy ass hand smear.
- 17:27That's kind of gross. It's a passionate.
- 17:29Scene, I know, but it's. Just it's 100% passion.
- 17:33No adulterants, no filters, no substitute, just 100% passion.
- 17:39Yeah, but it's like a sexual Sophie.
- 17:41I, I, I don't know it's what, as an adult, it gives me the egg a
- 17:44little bit. Oh my God.
- 17:47The first time Jack sees Rose and his friend Tommy is like,
- 17:52you might as well have angels flying out of your arse if you
- 17:54think you're getting next to the likes of her.
- 17:56That's a really good scene because you see how beautiful
- 17:58Rose is and she immediately notices Jack.
- 18:00It's he's more her age. She obviously has an instant
- 18:04attraction as well because she kind of glances at him a few
- 18:06times. So I like that.
- 18:07There's like a lot of electricity in that scene.
- 18:11Should I go into quotes or do you want to share your moments?
- 18:13And then I'll go. Quote My favorite moment is the
- 18:15Irish dance party. I love that fucking whole
- 18:18sequence. Yeah, that's a great.
- 18:20It's, yeah, I'll get into it later.
- 18:22But that whole sequence, it's it literally, it looks like a real
- 18:26party. It looks like the cast got a
- 18:27little drunk and a couple of the guys like, you know, I know how
- 18:31to play this, I know how to play that.
- 18:33And then they started playing these instruments and they just
- 18:37had a wicked party. Yeah.
- 18:38It's lively, it's fun, it's full of life.
- 18:40Yeah. Go ahead with quotes.
- 18:43So a few, yeah. So when Jack and Fabrizio are
- 18:48getting onto the Titanic for the first time and he says, have you
- 18:51been through the the lice checks?
- 18:53He's like, besides, we don't have any lice.
- 18:54We're Americans, both of us. As if Americans can't have
- 18:57likes. Yeah, I think, he says.
- 19:01That yes, he does. He.
- 19:02Says lice checks. He, well, he says, did.
- 19:04Did. Security check.
- 19:05Did you go through all your checks?
- 19:06And he's like, yeah, of course, but we don't have any life.
- 19:08We're Americans, both of us. I don't think he says that, but
- 19:13anyway, we'll have to look that up because I think you've
- 19:15misheard. He does.
- 19:17I don't think he says we have like, I think either way, we're
- 19:20Americans, I think. That's what he said.
- 19:22We don't have any life for Americans.
- 19:24He says that, OK. And then him and Fabrizio go to
- 19:28the front of the ship, and the ship set sail.
- 19:31And Fabrizio says, I can see the Statue of Liberty already.
- 19:34It's very small, of course. It's like so cute and hopeful.
- 19:37The king of the world moment. Yeah, that's, that's the next
- 19:40one. I'm the king of the world.
- 19:41But that whole scene is like, so a lot of people say that that's
- 19:44the most iconic scene, even though it's super cheesy.
- 19:47I'm the king of the world in the.
- 19:49Commercials, it's cheesy, but it also like he's a young guy and
- 19:53he just got to go on this life changing trip.
- 19:56Like it's exciting and you feel you feel his excitement.
- 19:59My next quote is after Rose's suicide attempt.
- 20:04They're talking about it and this old guy who he says some
- 20:08funny things in the movie later, but this old guy goes, it's like
- 20:10I always say, women and machinery don't mix because she
- 20:13said that she was leaning over to see the propellers.
- 20:16Fucking best. Yeah, she has some great lines
- 20:18in this movie. Yes, cause she said she was
- 20:20leaning over to see the propellers.
- 20:21So he said women and machinery don't mix.
- 20:23And I thought that was funny. When Rose chugs the beer at the
- 20:28party, Yeah, it says, what do you think of first class girl
- 20:32can't drink? And then my last iconic quote is
- 20:37but this ship can't sink. She's made of iron, Sir.
- 20:40I assure you she can and she will.
- 20:43No, no, no. It's a mathematical certainty.
- 20:45I'm sorry to interrupt. I will do Jumanji dad's line and
- 20:49then you do the. Rest OK.
- 20:51Ready. Yeah, put this ship.
- 20:53Can't sink. She's made of iron, Sir.
- 20:56I assure you she can. And she will.
- 20:58The pumps, if we open the pumps by your time, but minutes only.
- 21:03From this moment, no matter what we do, Titanic will founder.
- 21:11But the ship can't see. She's made of iron, Sir.
- 21:14I assure you she can and she will.
- 21:17It's a mathematical certainty, Mr. Andrews.
- 21:21So iconic. Oh my God, that that.
- 21:23I remember you quoted that line years ago and I laughed so hard.
- 21:27She's made of iron, Sir. I can't even like it's, it's so
- 21:33hilarious. The first time I quoted to you
- 21:35died laughing and you said like later.
- 21:38If you can, if you can quote obscure lines like that like,
- 21:41you can hang basically. Yeah, and.
- 21:43Make me feel good. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:46OK, anymore. No, those are that's.
- 21:48It. Oh man, I got a bunch here.
- 21:51OK, You ready? Yeah.
- 21:52Look at me you filth. He's such a Dick.
- 21:57When, when, when when Jack saves Rose from jumping off the
- 22:02friggin ship and then the security guys fine Jack like on
- 22:06top of her and it looks. Like gonna let him take the
- 22:08fall. She almost let him take the fall
- 22:10for that. So this is another thing that
- 22:13makes Rose look really bad in this movie and we can talk about
- 22:16this. Later, no, she, she comes to his
- 22:18rescue after she after she. Comes down, she she does some
- 22:20questionable shit and yeah, it's like, OK, she's 17, blah, blah,
- 22:23blah. But it's like, OK.
- 22:25But yeah, basically Jack looks like he's basically raping her
- 22:29and, you know, but he actually saved her life.
- 22:31And this guy is in cuffs already and Cal grabs him and he's
- 22:35talking shit at the jackets. Like look at me, you filth.
- 22:39Fucking iconic line it is. And then the same Monopoly man.
- 22:43I call him Monopoly Man. He does look like the monopoly
- 22:46man all. Life is a game of luck.
- 22:49Have the dinner table. Yeah.
- 22:50And so Jack says like, you know, seize the day.
- 22:52He basically says it's a great line.
- 22:54Actually he says make each day count, which is a great quote.
- 22:58And they lift their glasses to making it.
- 22:59Count and to making it count and they go yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:05It's so buggy and like, you have to own a lot of land and like,
- 23:12you have to have people under your thumb to have a voice in
- 23:15like, some confidence to be like, here at dinner.
- 23:19Normal people just can't be like, yeah, yeah.
- 23:21No, you can't. When they win the card game and
- 23:26Fabrizio is like I go to America whatever and then the bartenders
- 23:32like no man Titanic go to America in 5 minutes and then
- 23:38and then they just like grab all their change and the tickets of
- 23:41the Titanic and run out of the bar.
- 23:43Wicked wicked part. That guy had one line in the
- 23:46movie and it's iconic. I always remember him too.
- 23:49Tannic go to America in 5 minutes.
- 23:53He points at the clock. You're like, oh, shit, Beach.
- 23:58Oh, yeah. When they're loading up the
- 24:00lifeboats near the end of the movie and people are fucking
- 24:03panicking and the guys working on the ship are freaking out and
- 24:08the like, the passengers are getting violent.
- 24:10So some of them have a gun or carrying a pistol.
- 24:13And the guy goes, get back. Get back, I say, or I'll shoot
- 24:19you all like dogs. Keep order cap order here, I
- 24:24say. And then he turns right and
- 24:26loads it. It wasn't even loaded.
- 24:28That's Keep all That is not supposed to be a funny scene.
- 24:33But it's not funny, no, but intense, The accent and the
- 24:36delivery of the line. It's comical a little bit,
- 24:39keyboarder eyes say anyway. And then near the end of the
- 24:45movie, when that one lifeboat goes back, it's a fucking dark
- 24:49scene. Like it's really sad.
- 24:51But this guy, he's in the lifeboat.
- 24:54He's like, is there anyone alive out there?
- 24:59Can anyone hear me? Keep going, keep checking them.
- 25:04His accent is just like, it's crazy.
- 25:07It's it's crazy when you code it makes me laugh because that
- 25:10scene is so fucking upset. I know, I know.
- 25:13And then he's just like, it's the ours.
- 25:16He's rolling the R like he's fucking rolling up the rim.
- 25:18He's like, is there anyone alive out there you wanna hear me?
- 25:23No, it's not like you're making it one.
- 25:26And then when Kathy Bates is on the lifeboat, it's another quote
- 25:30and it's all the Irish guys, Kathy Bates, like, we gotta go
- 25:33back. We gotta go.
- 25:34There's your men out there. And he's like, there'll be 1
- 25:38less on his boat if you don't shut that hole in your face.
- 25:43I was like, whoa, bro, chill. But it's, it's, it's still
- 25:47funny. I'm laughing.
- 25:48Crew takes a beating during the disaster like they they're fed
- 25:52up. They're not prepared.
- 25:54Because it's stressful. Yeah, they're not prepared.
- 25:56Yeah, there's a lot of amazing quotes.
- 25:58I mean, we can't even name all of the amazing quotes because
- 26:00we'd be here all night, but it's.
- 26:03Those are my favorite. We quote this movie to each
- 26:05other at random times. There's a bunch, but these are
- 26:08the ones that I like. Like there's when Cal tells Jack
- 26:11he's like, oh, Dawson, you could almost pass for a gentleman.
- 26:16Like that's such a backhanded compliment.
- 26:18Like fuck off bro. Anyway, is this movie classic or
- 26:25cancelled in 2026? Alright, strapping everybody.
- 26:29Oht boy. So this movie is obviously a
- 26:32classic to me and many others, but Rose has been cancelled in
- 26:38recent years and even back in the 90s for several different
- 26:41reasons. Everyone has talked about the
- 26:44fact that Jack could have fit on the door.
- 26:47That has been a point of contention for years.
- 26:51They should have made room for him.
- 26:53Hot take. They could not both fit on the
- 26:56door. They fucking tried in the movie.
- 26:58And the door started flipping over and sinking into the water.
- 27:02And like, you see Jack accept death in that moment and he's
- 27:05like, I'm going to let her get on this door because I love her.
- 27:07I'm going to let her survive and I'm going to stay with her in
- 27:10this water dying for as long as I can.
- 27:12You see him? You see the look in his face, He
- 27:14accepts it. Stop saying he could fit on the
- 27:17door because it's simply not true.
- 27:18He could have maybe left her and went and found another piece of
- 27:21debris to hold on to. He could not have fit on the
- 27:23door. So everybody used to stop with
- 27:25that, but that's one thing she's been cancelled for.
- 27:30But more recently, there's been a lot of contention around Rose
- 27:34specifically for meeting Jack in heaven instead of her husband,
- 27:38who she had children with. And a lot of people are offended
- 27:44by that. But it's it's for the movie.
- 27:47It's for the dramatic outcome at the end of the movie.
- 27:50We want to see her reunited with Jack, not some random husband
- 27:54that we've never even met. I have a thing about that.
- 27:56Later, even when they show her in her.
- 27:58Pictures fix that whole part, but I mean they never.
- 28:02Well, even when even when they show all of those pictures she
- 28:05has, it's only her because we don't wanna see her with a
- 28:08random guy in those pictures. Her husband, because we don't
- 28:11know him. We didn't hear a love sorry
- 28:13about him. We heard about Jack and then
- 28:17lastly she's been cancelled for lying to Bill Paxton and the
- 28:20crew because she really does waste their time and tells them
- 28:25her fucking long ass 3 hour story.
- 28:28Yeah, but she hasn't. Well, she had the heart of the
- 28:32ocean the whole time. They're listening to you because
- 28:33they want to know what this. Version that's class is there,
- 28:36that's classic old people vibes. That's what they do True.
- 28:39I mean, no shades old people, but they like to chill and talk
- 28:42and you're just like bro, I gotta go to work and they're
- 28:45like, well, I have nothing to do so can you listen?
- 28:48Yeah, which is kind of sad. It is kind of sad, but she did
- 28:51have an epic story to tell. Yeah.
- 28:53And then people are also were very upset that she decided to
- 28:57throw it over at the end. You could have given it to Bill
- 29:01Paxton character and made his life.
- 29:03You could have given it to your granddaughter and she would have
- 29:07a generational wealth for years. Yeah.
- 29:10And and another thing that I, I do find, it's a little bit of a
- 29:14plot hole. She supposedly gets off of the
- 29:20second ship that saves them from the Titanic.
- 29:23She has nothing. She's starting from nothing in
- 29:25New York. But she has the song.
- 29:27She has this huge ass. Really expensive.
- 29:29Basically an Infinity song. Basically, you're telling me she
- 29:33didn't pawn that? No.
- 29:35Because she wanted. Her own steam.
- 29:37And that was her memory of Jack that night because she's she
- 29:41lost the drawing. That was her only piece of Jack.
- 29:45It's not a piece of Jack though. It's.
- 29:47A piece of That's her memory of. That's a.
- 29:49She shares a memory with Jack with that item.
- 29:52I guess it it's just it's kind of.
- 29:54That's my explanation. For it, it's kind of surprising.
- 29:57And making some hot points here, woman.
- 29:59Yeah, it's kind of surprising that she keeps it.
- 30:02And that I'm not surprised. And that she doesn't.
- 30:04At the end she that's himself. I'm surprised at what she did at
- 30:07the end. That's controversial as hell,
- 30:09but I mean. So yeah, So.
- 30:11So Rose specifically has been canceled, Yeah.
- 30:14But the movie itself has always held up as a classic.
- 30:19Yeah, you make some really good points.
- 30:20I'm not gonna argue with the the roles being cancelled thing.
- 30:24Like there's a few points there that you like, really solid
- 30:27points. I have something later that
- 30:31might have fixed some of the parts about her going to heaven
- 30:34and all that and seeing Jack or whatever, but OK.
- 30:39So for me, um, I know it's certain situations that this
- 30:44movie would get cancelled, but I don't think you can, you know,
- 30:48it's gonna be, I think it's gonna be like, unfortunately,
- 30:51it's gonna be like Gone with the Wind where it's a classic and
- 30:56then but and 100 years people are going to be like, this is so
- 30:59problematic. Gone with the Wind is far more
- 31:01problematic. Now.
- 31:03Now it is, but 30-40 years ago it was still problematic.
- 31:07But now take Titanic. Problematic when it came.
- 31:10Out take Titanic in a year. I'm not a year, sorry.
- 31:13In 100 years, the the movie, I think it would be even more
- 31:17because there's there's some shit here.
- 31:18She. OK, so here we go.
- 31:20Rose calls the Titanic a slave ship.
- 31:23You guy. Oh yeah, it's.
- 31:25She calls it a slave ship. Let me finish.
- 31:28Yeah, she shouldn't have done that.
- 31:29Not. Even close, but you just got in
- 31:31with your little purple fucking hat out of your little jalopy
- 31:36and then she's. Like she's because slaves went
- 31:38over in chains and she felt enslaved to call it wasn't
- 31:41specifically about but yeah, it's it's a bad taste.
- 31:44It's not a slave for a white person to say that.
- 31:46I agree. No, anybody like it's not a
- 31:48slave ship, It's it's electric. It's a luxury cruise.
- 31:51Yeah, and you're in the fucking like top, top tier of it.
- 31:55You're in the A deck, not EDEC, bro.
- 31:58So that's kind of like that. She gets cancelled for that.
- 32:03But yeah, Jack, just drawing random girls breastfeeding their
- 32:07babies in public. Excuse me, can I fucking help
- 32:10you? Can you imagine, Can you fucking
- 32:13imagine being at a park or whatever and you cover it up
- 32:17like you're wearing a, a breastfeeding cover and you're
- 32:20breastfeeding your kid and there's this fucking random dude
- 32:24across the park in 2026. So he's not drawing you now.
- 32:29He's got his fucking phone out or he's wearing like those
- 32:32sunglasses that record, and he's just fucking taking pictures.
- 32:36Of you we we have to imagine that he spoke to her and that
- 32:39she wanted. Can you?
- 32:40OK, but Can you imagine approaching a woman in 2026
- 32:44asking can I draw you breastfeeding your child, I'm an
- 32:47artist, blah blah blah. They'd be like get the fuck out
- 32:49of here you creep. You made a good point that it's
- 32:52France and France was a lot more a lot more liberal and people
- 32:57were willing to like people were less puritanical about so so
- 33:01maybe she was breastfeeding her child that he he said, listen,
- 33:03like this is beautiful. Can I please sketch?
- 33:05You if I'm Jack and I'm not, but if I'm Jack and I'm trying to
- 33:10get with this hot item who's a rich girl, I'm going to say
- 33:14whatever I can to get into those pants.
- 33:17And I'm going to tell her that I got permission to draw these
- 33:22random women who are naked. And she's gonna be like, oht,
- 33:27you're very good. It's like maybe he didn't.
- 33:30Maybe he was chilling with a little hood on and you know, he
- 33:36was just like Incognito in the distance and he's fucking
- 33:38drawing these women, which is super creepy.
- 33:41I'm just saying I'm not trying to shit on Jack, but it's a
- 33:45little bit. Suspect you're reading a little
- 33:47bit too much subtext into that, because that's, well, it's not
- 33:49cancelled. Like I said, go to a random
- 33:51woman in the street and be like, I'm an artist, here's my
- 33:53drawings. I want to draw you feeding your
- 33:55baby from your tit. They're going to get the fuck
- 33:57out of here. They're going to call the police
- 34:00like right away. Anyways, I have more.
- 34:02I'm not done now this is the cake.
- 34:05This is my hottest cancelled or classic.
- 34:09Imagine Rose had armpit hair and he drew the armpit hair into the
- 34:16drawing because some of his drawings the girls had armpit
- 34:22hair. Yeah, cause I think that was a
- 34:23thing in France. I know, but.
- 34:26It was the norm. No Imagine though, that Rose had
- 34:28it in the movie. She didn't, but imagine she did.
- 34:31Would have. Would Jack have drawn it too?
- 34:33Because maybe that was a conversation with James Cameron.
- 34:36He's like, should we give her armpit hair?
- 34:38Should we not? Because it's going to be really
- 34:40fucking distracting when they find the painting or the drawing
- 34:43in the water and they clean it up in the opening of the movie.
- 34:46And she just got this fucking hairy Bush under her bed.
- 34:49No one's gonna be looking at her or the stove.
- 34:51Be like what is that? She's a redhead too, so it would
- 34:54have been like. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 34:56They're gonna. It would be way too distracting,
- 34:59like it would have fucked up the movie.
- 35:01So James comes like, yeah, she shaves, it's all good.
- 35:04Or she doesn't have any. Well, like I said, she's only
- 35:0717, so maybe she doesn't have that much.
- 35:12Oh my baby. False alarm.
- 35:18I don't know. Let's see.
- 35:25No, no, she's up. We'll be right back.
- 35:29We'll be back. OK, babies, back down.
- 35:34She OK, she was fine, she needed her pussy and she needed me to
- 35:38stroke her hair for her for a couple minutes to calm her down
- 35:41and then she ripped a couple of huge farts and fell right back.
- 35:46Asleep. Yeah, it's usually the gas that
- 35:48wakes her. Up.
- 35:49Do you imagine the waking up and the passkey being knocked out of
- 35:52her mouth because she drops the pass out of her mouth when she
- 35:55falls asleep a lot so she needs it?
- 35:56She rips ass sometimes and she sleeps.
- 35:59I mean it's a fact of life, OK? Can you watch this with your
- 36:04parents? I'd like to start this.
- 36:08OK. To quote To quote Tony Montana,
- 36:13no, fuck no. But it depends on the parents.
- 36:18I mean the naked drawing scene and the sex scene would be
- 36:23uncomfortable to watch with parents.
- 36:26Um it's not that bad, but her boobies are out for a while in
- 36:30the drawing scene and most parents are probably Fast
- 36:32forward through it. Mine would.
- 36:34Yeah, like I said, when I went and saw it in theatres, my my
- 36:37eyes were covered. Yeah, well, there's a lot of,
- 36:39there's a full out, full frontal shot of her.
- 36:41Yeah, the sex scene actually is not that graphic.
- 36:47Yeah, it's not. It shows them quaking after but
- 36:50it doesn't like show like. Quaking.
- 36:52It doesn't show him like actually having sex with her
- 36:55cause that would be kind of weird.
- 36:57Clicking. Yeah, cause we're like shaking
- 37:00ohe in this way. So yeah, it's it would be
- 37:04uncomfortable to watch with the Yeah, it would be uncomfortable
- 37:07to watch the parents. But I did just wanna know.
- 37:10You told me this in the naked drawing scene.
- 37:12That's James Cameron drawing the picture.
- 37:15Yeah, those are his hands. Talk about God giving with both
- 37:19hands. He is an amazing director.
- 37:21He wrote this movie, so he's an amazing writer and he is an
- 37:25artist. Yeah, fuck off.
- 37:28But he can't keep, he can't keep a woman he's like married four
- 37:31times, divorced four times. Ohf for real.
- 37:33Yeah, I think it's four. Yeah, he's.
- 37:35Oht he's really good at writing. Professional, professional
- 37:37divorcer, Yeah, but he's a fucking amazing, amazing brain.
- 37:42Amazing. Talent.
- 37:42Oh my gosh, I I want to lick his brain.
- 37:44It's so can you watch this with your parents?
- 37:47I say no, fuck no, but depends on the parents.
- 37:50I mean, it's it's funny. This movie, it didn't really you
- 37:55didn't need the nudity like you could have easily had her like a
- 38:00a back shot to Jack. She lays down, it cuts to her
- 38:04face like it just crops into her face because there's a lot of
- 38:06cropping in on Jack's face. It's.
- 38:08Tastefully done though, I think. I mean, depends who you talk to.
- 38:12I mean, it's a love story. There's gonna be some nudity and
- 38:16love stories and. Lies, and it's artistically
- 38:19valid. Sure it's not.
- 38:20I'm just saying like if you want to avoid that whole thing, it
- 38:22could have been cut out completely.
- 38:25I I think it adds something yeah but yeah with with even with
- 38:29more liberal chill parents yeah it's still uncomfortable to see
- 38:33sexual things sitting with your parents.
- 38:35So no, you can't really watch this with your parents.
- 38:38Maybe as an adult it's a little bit less weird, but definitely
- 38:41if you're. A kid, I mean, I watched it with
- 38:42my mom and you just cover your eyes or someone covers your eyes
- 38:45during that seeing your Fast forward.
- 38:47So yeah, you could. Yeah, you can't watch.
- 38:48It yeah, it's still a good movie.
- 38:50Yeah, it depends on the favorite and least favorite supporting
- 38:53character. You go ahead.
- 38:55Alright so this is actually funny.
- 38:58This is the first time I'm picking a woman because the
- 39:00first 3 movies we did were very male heavy.
- 39:03OK so my favorite supporting character in the Titanic is the
- 39:06unsinkable Molly Brown. OK she's so iconic.
- 39:11She carries her own bags onto the ship and drops them and
- 39:16she's like see it wasn't that hard boys.
- 39:18Like she carries her own bags on Cal is ordering that lamb for
- 39:23Rose that she doesn't want and she smiles from across the
- 39:25table. She goes.
- 39:26You gotta you gotta cut her meat for her to there Cal.
- 39:30When they play the trumpets at dinner she says why do they
- 39:33always announce dinner like a damn cavalry charge?
- 39:36She's just like she's a teddy bear among Grizzlies and she's
- 39:39the only one willing to help Jack and the only one that has
- 39:43any empathy towards him. Like she takes him to her room,
- 39:46she lets him borrow her sons clothing because she knows he's
- 39:50going to feel more comfortable if he looks the part.
- 39:54She sits with him at dinner and he he leans over to her and he's
- 39:57like says what's with all these forces?
- 39:58She's like just start from the outside and work your way in.
- 40:00Like she's very chill. Yeah, because she is.
- 40:03She likely because she remembers being poor herself.
- 40:06They talk about the fact that she's new money and that she
- 40:10used to like, I think her husband her had a farm, I think,
- 40:13or something because they struck oil, I believe so their oil
- 40:16tycoons. Yeah.
- 40:17So she's she's also the only one with the decency to want to go
- 40:22back and save some people. Like you said, she says those
- 40:25are our men out there. Like come on ladies, grab an
- 40:27orange. She gets absolutely told to just
- 40:29STFU by the people on the boat and nobody agrees with her.
- 40:34Yeah, she's, I wrote this down here.
- 40:36I just like Kathy Bates is a G. She's a GG.
- 40:39She's a great actress, and she's like hers.
- 40:41Her small part in this movie is very memorable.
- 40:44She's not in every scene. She's not a huge part of the
- 40:46movie, but every time she's on screen, she's captivating.
- 40:49Yeah. And I just wanted to throw.
- 40:52Sorry. I'll send it to you in a minute,
- 40:53but I just want to throw one on April Munchen to Mr. Andrews and
- 40:57Tommy. Truly our IP to both of those
- 41:00characters because they're both. Mr. Andrews is so kind and sweet
- 41:04and like open and just like a genuine person.
- 41:08And Tommy's just a badass who just wants to help people.
- 41:11So our IP goes 22 gems. It was a tough one for me.
- 41:14I was going to put Kathy Bates character.
- 41:16Oh, really? Yeah, but I actually went with
- 41:18Mr. Andrews. Like, you know what, Every scene
- 41:22this guy's in, he seems like a genuine person who is just there
- 41:27to like he's just trying to build a ship to make people feel
- 41:30safe, to get people from point A to point B is always like, you
- 41:35know, he keeps it real. He keeps it 100 with everybody
- 41:39with rows about the lifeboats, you know about, you know, get
- 41:43off the ship. The ship's about to sink.
- 41:45It's gonna take two hours. Like he doesn't pussy foot
- 41:47around anything. And he doesn't even try to save
- 41:49himself. He doesn't even think of.
- 41:50It Yeah, he just keeps it 100% every time.
- 41:54And of all the people in the ship, like there's a bunch of
- 41:58bullshitters on the ship, you got Rose.
- 42:01She lies, you know, she lies to Cow.
- 42:04Cow is a shithead. His assistant guy is a shithead.
- 42:09Jack, he's a good guy, but he makes stuff up.
- 42:12He lies. You know he you know he doesn't
- 42:14sorry. He doesn't lie.
- 42:14He just like. He steals.
- 42:17Was he still? He stole that jacket.
- 42:19Ohe yeah, he stole the coat. So, you know, the mom is an
- 42:23asshole. Kathy Bates is a gem.
- 42:26But Mr. Andrews, like he, he, you know, he keeps it real.
- 42:29He stands out in the. Movie.
- 42:30I really like him. Yeah, he's very.
- 42:32He seems like a pure guy. And then at the end of the
- 42:34movie, when everything's gone to shit, the ship's about to sink.
- 42:38Like he's leaning up against the fireplace in like the, I guess
- 42:42the lounge area, and there's a whiskey glass that just slides
- 42:48off of the mantle because the ship is tilting.
- 42:52And he's like, I'm not even gonna try to save myself.
- 42:55And he just, he reaches up and he sets the clock for the time
- 42:58that it was about to sing. Yeah, yeah, I like Mr. Andrews.
- 43:01Who's your least favorite? So this was a toss up for me,
- 43:06and I know that Cal is technically one of the main
- 43:08characters, but it's a toss up between Cal and Rose's mother.
- 43:13Yeah, they're like friends and they're both terrible.
- 43:16Like they always have their arms linked and they're like
- 43:19conspiring together to ruin Rose's life.
- 43:21They're terrible. Cal is is terrifying. 2 rows.
- 43:26She's afraid of him. He's pestering a 17 year old for
- 43:30sex before they're married. And he's he's having violent
- 43:34outbursts. He throws the tea table.
- 43:37He slaps the shit out of her when she comes back after
- 43:41cheating on him with Jack. And yeah, he's just, he's just a
- 43:47shitty guy. He's he's too rough.
- 43:49He's he's too mean. I don't like him.
- 43:52I mean, she didn't just go out and fuck around, she went out
- 43:56and fucked anybody and she's engaged.
- 43:59So I said she cheated on him. No, I know, I'm saying like the
- 44:01slap part. It wasn't warranted.
- 44:04That was he thought it was too hard.
- 44:05I mean that's fucked up bro. That's next level.
- 44:10Like hanging out with the guy, dancing OK but you don't bang
- 44:13them and then let him dry you naked.
- 44:15That's next. She let him draw her naked, and
- 44:18then she begged. Him.
- 44:19OK, whatever. Doesn't matter what order it's
- 44:21in. No, I'm just OK but.
- 44:23Sure, sure. Cal sucks, I think we can all
- 44:26agree with that. And then the mother, she's very
- 44:29stuck up. She talks down to people.
- 44:31She's lazy cause she just wants Rose to to marry someone rich
- 44:36and she wants to ride on her daughter's coattails.
- 44:39She's very selfish. She expects her daughter to pay
- 44:43for her mistakes. It was her mistake to marry
- 44:46DeWitt Bukater who left her destitute.
- 44:49That was her mistake. If she has to go work as a
- 44:52seamstress to make up for it or go marry a rich husband herself,
- 44:56she can do that. But no, she's forcing her young
- 44:59daughter into this life that she doesn't want, and she's so
- 45:03unhappy to the point where she wants to kill herself.
- 45:05And the mother knows that she sucks.
- 45:09Yeah, the mom sucks. She's the worst.
- 45:11Yeah. That's Yeah, that's a tough one,
- 45:13man. I I got two people that like
- 45:16it's it's neck and neck. I'm gonna go callous assistant.
- 45:21Yeah, he's like that. I don't know if there's a
- 45:24saying, but the only thing worse than a person that's shitty is
- 45:27the person that works with the shitty person.
- 45:30You know what I mean? Maybe that's just something I
- 45:32just made-up, but like, this guy knows how devious and, like,
- 45:37shitty Cal is, and he's just like, yeah, he's just relishes
- 45:41in it. I'll do that for you.
- 45:42I'll take care of that. I'm gonna tie up a little kid to
- 45:46a fucking basement room in a sinking ship and just leave them
- 45:52there. Yeah, and he knows the ship
- 45:54singing cause he's rolling around with the bullet.
- 45:57The bullets is like rolling off the table.
- 45:59He's just chilling and he just gets up and leaves like he's
- 46:02like you're gonna die here no problem.
- 46:04And then he's shitty at his job on top of that cause Jack just
- 46:10shows up later with Rose because Rose gets him out and Cal looks
- 46:14at him like how the fuck did he get?
- 46:16Out plus they evaded him when he was trying.
- 46:18When they went off to have sex in the car, they completely
- 46:20escaped it. Yeah, like this guy not only is
- 46:22a shitty person, but he's really bad at his job, you know what I
- 46:26mean? Like, and the fact is, yeah,
- 46:30Rose is a fucking miserable person and she trying to kill
- 46:34herself. I mean, the writings on the wall
- 46:37and Jack saved her and this guy's like all this is like
- 46:40worried about is funny how you had time to take off your boots,
- 46:45you know, if she slips so suddenly.
- 46:47That's just showing that he's a detective and that he sees.
- 46:49Detective Smectite, he's through the he's a deck.
- 46:52It's a close race between him and Jumanji dad, Jumanji dad.
- 46:57This fucking guy, Mr. Ismay, all he cares about, all he cares
- 47:02about is his headlines. And every time I saw him, all I
- 47:06could think of was you must not get on the boot, you must not
- 47:10get off the ship or whatever. Like he was just like all I
- 47:14thought about it was him in a fez in The Mummy.
- 47:17And he's shitty in Jumanji too. He's he's the worst dad in
- 47:21Jumanji. And he it, it shows that he
- 47:25really understands what he did wrong.
- 47:27He gets on a life boat. The captain shares a look.
- 47:30Fucking escapes. He should go down with the ship
- 47:33with Mr. Andrews, but he's secretly gets on the ship and
- 47:36one of the cap, one of the like, I don't know what you call it,
- 47:39assistant captains on the ship. He sees him and gives him his
- 47:42dirty look. Like you piece of shit like you
- 47:44should be going down with. This OK, but it's the captain's
- 47:47fault because he No, no, no, yes it.
- 47:49Is this guy bullied him into fucking going?
- 47:51Fast, he said. Imagine the headlines.
- 47:53Imagine ending your retirement. The captain is the one who is
- 47:57responsible, for sure, for everyone on the ship, for sure.
- 48:00And he chose to go full steam. Ahead like they told this guy
- 48:03this ship is made of basically like it's impossible.
- 48:06Like how many times they say in the movie Gordon solve could not
- 48:09sink the ship. It's like, OK bro, a little bit
- 48:13asking for it, you know what I mean?
- 48:15Like chill rolling, coming out. It's the, it's the maiden
- 48:17voyage. It's not like you're 20th round
- 48:20across the Atlantic. Like, calm down.
- 48:22Alright, I see your point. That's true.
- 48:24It's me and the cows assistant. I just they're both the the
- 48:31worst, worst levels of people. They, they, they, they, they're
- 48:35not as bad as Rose's mom. Rose's mom is the ultimate.
- 48:38Yeah, she's a she's a succubus. Yeah, she even at that one
- 48:42scene, she's like, oh, Kathy Bates characters coming in the
- 48:45room. She's like, hurry up, let's
- 48:46leave so don't have to fucking drink tea with her.
- 48:48Yeah, that's fucked up. She wouldn't enjoy someone as
- 48:50epic as Kathy. Back and Kathy was like, I gotta
- 48:52catch up on my gossip because she knows these bitches talking
- 48:54about her. All right, all right, let's move
- 48:56on. Let's move on to cultural
- 48:58impact. Do you want to go or should I
- 48:59go? I'll go first.
- 49:01All right, cultural impact. OK, this movie, it was all over
- 49:07the place. We talked about it in the
- 49:08beginning of the pod and I cannot stress how long this
- 49:12movie was in theatres. This movie came out in December
- 49:15of 97. It was in theatres for 10
- 49:19months. Ten months, Yeah.
- 49:22Nowadays, a movie if it, if you're lucky, if you're lucky,
- 49:26like a movie like, for example, a big moneymaker.
- 49:29Let's go, let's say an Avengers End Game or an Avengers Infinity
- 49:32War. That movie will be in theatres
- 49:35for. Well that was like 2 months ago
- 49:38babe. No, I'm just saying like I'm
- 49:40talking about level of popularity where every weekend
- 49:44it's still making money. There's no.
- 49:45Big drop off Blake, can you miss that some?
- 49:47Movies, Avengers Infinity War, like those movies and End Game,
- 49:51they were in theatres for like 8 months.
- 49:53Sorry, eight months, two months, That's like huge.
- 49:56Nowadays, 2 months is a stretch. This movie is in theatres for
- 50:00eight months, and back in the day between theatres and home
- 50:04video, because there was no streaming, it took so long to
- 50:09transfer all the footage to home video because they had to
- 50:12generate all the tapes because all analog.
- 50:15Yeah, before DVD. It would be like a Gator.
- 50:18Yeah, there was a huge gap between theatres and home video,
- 50:21so when it came back on home video, it was like a new life
- 50:24for the movie. Yeah, it was like a second
- 50:26release because everybody released Buster or whatever.
- 50:30Runs it like 10 months. I know people that went to this
- 50:33movie like 6 times, you know like and it was mostly girls
- 50:37because they were all. Trying.
- 50:38I was too young to know anybody that song in theatres.
- 50:40Like, people went over and over and over to see this movie, and
- 50:44then if you weren't watching the movie, the fucking song by
- 50:48Céline Dion. My heart will go on.
- 50:52Every single word. This song was everywhere it.
- 50:55Was good song. Too.
- 50:57It was on much music, MTV, TRL, it was on everything all the
- 51:02time and then every radio station you put on it was on
- 51:05there. It was on there My heart will go
- 51:07on by Celine. This song like this is probably
- 51:11the first time in history where the song connected to the movie
- 51:17almost overshadowed the movie, almost like it was a very close.
- 51:24Yeah, but the movie, The movie still stands for.
- 51:26Itself soundtrack of the movie was almost as good as the movie.
- 51:30It's fucking insane cultural impact.
- 51:33A lot of spoofs. They spoofed it in Scary Movie,
- 51:37you know with the Amistad 2 because one of the Waynes
- 51:41brothers like I'm the king of the world and then he gets
- 51:43whipped because he's on Amistad too.
- 51:46Like a lot of different spoofs about this movie, mostly by the
- 51:49king of the world thing and drying Rose naked.
- 51:52Yeah. Go ahead.
- 51:53Those were. That's all I got.
- 51:55Yeah, those were in a lot of things.
- 51:57I just know it definitely made Kate and Leo big stars.
- 52:01They got a lot of attention following the movie and
- 52:04unfortunately, like women just seem to get the shit end of the
- 52:08stick a lot of the times. Kate Winslet got a lot of
- 52:10negative comments about her body following the film.
- 52:13There's actually a new an e-news clip from 1998 Golden Globes red
- 52:18carpet where an on air host could be heard saying the
- 52:21actress looked a little melted and poured into her dress and
- 52:26that she needed it 2 sizes larger and she'd be OK.
- 52:30Like she was a little thick. Thick.
- 52:31She's a little thick. Yeah, but.
- 52:33She had boobs and her. Yeah, nowadays that's that's
- 52:36that's a healthy woman. Yeah.
- 52:38She's in the 90s. Perfectly healthy and honestly
- 52:41slim. Yeah, because the 90s, it was
- 52:42all about the sticks, like Courtney Cox.
- 52:44And she got shit for having boobs in an ass.
- 52:47Like, yeah, I know she was. She wasn't even.
- 52:49She wasn't even pushing on. Overweight.
- 52:50No, I know, I know. We see her bare naked in
- 52:53Titanic. She has a wonderful physique,
- 52:55but yeah, she got some shit after the movie.
- 52:59About her physique. It put Titanic, the disaster on
- 53:07the map, which I think is kind of unique.
- 53:09Like not everyone would know about this ship sinking without
- 53:12this film bringing the history to the forefront.
- 53:15So seeing the period piece and seeing, I mean, there were some
- 53:19historical inaccuracies, but. Go ahead.
- 53:22But it really brought the disaster to the forefront, so
- 53:26everybody knows about it. Another thing about the cultural
- 53:29impact. So the Internet wasn't a huge
- 53:31thing in 9798. So when people watch this movie,
- 53:36there was this blurred line between, oh, it's a true story
- 53:40because the Titanic sunk, and this how many people died?
- 53:43But also people thought that Rose and Jack were real people
- 53:48on the ship. That was a real thing.
- 53:50There were real people though. Molly Brown was a real person
- 53:52for sure. The captain was a real person.
- 53:54The line was blurred. So people literally like, people
- 53:57saw this movie and that's another reason why it had the
- 54:01Blair Witch effect where people were so overwhelmed and like,
- 54:07you know, infatuated with this idea that two people fell in
- 54:11love and it was tragic and kind of like a Romeo and Juliet
- 54:14situation. They thought it was real and it
- 54:17was that's that's part of the marketing.
- 54:19Like people really thought this happened.
- 54:22Yeah, they took, they took a real disaster that happened and
- 54:25they implanted A fictional love story.
- 54:29But they can't do that anymore. The Internet ruins.
- 54:31Everything they did some things in the movie that people were
- 54:34upset about, like, you know, the the officer that shoots himself
- 54:37in the head. Yeah, he, he, he never shot
- 54:40himself in the head. He was very heroic when the
- 54:42Titanic went down and he did die with the ship.
- 54:45So his family was upset that he was portrayed that way as.
- 54:48They used his name in the. Movie, yeah, he's a real person
- 54:50and they showed him killing two people and then killing himself,
- 54:52which is not accurate. That didn't happen.
- 54:55So there were some things people got upset about.
- 54:58While praised for its spectacle, it faced critiques for
- 55:01historical accuracies and melodrama.
- 55:03Yet it is recognized for creating an emotional connection
- 55:06to history. Yeah, that's what I just read,
- 55:08an article by CBC. Soundtrack, like I said earlier,
- 55:15probably the greatest song for any movie ever made.
- 55:18I gotta do it, babe. Doo Doo Doo.
- 55:22Hulu. Every night in my.
- 55:34Dream OK, her accent is OK. Stop.
- 55:37How dare you, she's French. Canadian.
- 55:42Yeah, I know, Sally. Her accent is not that big.
- 55:45Chili's the goat man. Yeah, it's yeah, the soundtrack.
- 55:49James Horner you fucking magician.
- 55:51RIP. OK, this guy composed all the
- 55:55music and the main theme he did and they turned the main theme
- 55:59into her song. Yeah, it's it's absolutely
- 56:02iconic. All it takes is hearing a few
- 56:04notes and it takes you to to Titanic.
- 56:06You've played it on your keyboard before.
- 56:08Yeah, it's, it's, it's the best fucking TuneIn like in ages.
- 56:12It's it's, it's memorable. You know exactly what it's from,
- 56:16you know, and it's just it gets you right in the fields every.
- 56:20Time recognizable and so familiar for people that grew up
- 56:24during that time as well. From the theme to the music of
- 56:27the third class party to the original song by Céline Dion,
- 56:30every piece of music attached to this movie truly adds something.
- 56:36Yeah, we we sat there and quietly watched the credits and
- 56:39listened to My Heart will go On after watching this.
- 56:41We just finished it last night. Ohe yeah.
- 56:44And it this song pulls you in. Oh yeah, the movie ends.
- 56:47It's a somber ending and then the music plays and it really
- 56:52just you really absorb the movie.
- 56:56With the credits, so it's a perfect.
- 56:58Theme fucking James Cameron magician just melding everything
- 57:02together. The sky is something else, man.
- 57:04I agree. OK, who gets the spin-off, if
- 57:08anyone? I have 3.
- 57:10OHS fart I have I go ahead. So I wanna Molly brown prequel
- 57:16to see her before she's rich and see how she gets rich and
- 57:19becomes a part of high society because that would be cool.
- 57:22I think you could almost be a comedy like show her like kind
- 57:25of bumbling and stumbling through high society and finding
- 57:27her way. A Jack prequel from his time in
- 57:30France drawing naked ladies and being an.
- 57:32Artist. I like that I'm all for Jack
- 57:34prequel. Anna Rose sequel of making it on
- 57:39her own in New York and going on all the adventures she and Jack
- 57:43talked about horseback riding on the beach, riding roller
- 57:45coasters, meeting her husband and finding love again.
- 57:48It could be like a very like a a redemption story for her after
- 57:53everything that happened. Yeah, that's a good point.
- 57:56I was thinking maybe like a sequel but based on a few
- 58:01characters that we meet across the ship, but after, so like
- 58:07right after they they they survive.
- 58:10You do like a five part miniseries and each character
- 58:14would have one episode. Yeah, you follow them.
- 58:16Yeah, and it would be like, it wouldn't be a movie.
- 58:18It would. Characters.
- 58:20Though, so I was thinking some of the little like the some of
- 58:24the little kids that survive, like the one that Cal saves,
- 58:30like she obviously doesn't have her parents.
- 58:32She find her parents. Like I want to know what happens
- 58:34to her because he's not gonna fucking take care of her.
- 58:36He's a piece of shit. So like what happens to her?
- 58:39What happens to Mr. Ismay? Cause he know everybody knows
- 58:45he's responsible for that chip and he somehow survives as he go
- 58:48like hide, does he change his name?
- 58:50Does anything? What is his repercussion?
- 58:52Like what? What happens to him?
- 58:53Yeah, you know what I mean? Like I want to know what happens
- 58:55to this asshole. I want to know what happens to
- 58:58cow. Like I don't need to see a
- 58:59movie. I want to.
- 59:00See what they say. He got hit really bad with the
- 59:02Great Depression and kills. Himself.
- 59:04I wanna see that. I wanna see the cause you know,
- 59:07some of the, the, the one thing about this movie, you don't see
- 59:09it a lot in movies. The bad characters, the, the,
- 59:13the bad people don't get their comeuppance in this movie.
- 59:19And some of the bad people do. Some of the good people don't
- 59:24get, you know, they're, you know, they don't catch their
- 59:28break, like Jack doesn't really catch his break, you know?
- 59:33Well, he died. Roses.
- 59:34I know, that's what I mean. Like Fabrizio doesn't catch his
- 59:37break, Cal survives, Roses Mom survives.
- 59:42You know what I mean? Like the shitty people.
- 59:43I wanna see what happens to these assholes.
- 59:46So that that's my spinoff. I can't really give it a movie
- 59:49sequel because it's we. We know so much about these
- 59:53characters, and for a lot of them, it seems like this is the
- 59:57most epic and most interesting part of their lives.
- 1:00:00I don't think, like, Rose probably had a really nice life
- 1:00:03after, but I don't think it's worth to watch in the movie, you
- 1:00:06know what I mean? She did all the things that she
- 1:00:08wanted to do that Jack was like, oh, I'm gonna take horse backing
- 1:00:10riding and. Riding, yeah, just saying we
- 1:00:12could go on that adventure with. Her sure.
- 1:00:14I don't know if it's a movie, maybe like a mini series, but.
- 1:00:18Maybe, yeah. OK, what's your double feature?
- 1:00:21So the movies runtime is 3 hours and 14 minutes.
- 1:00:25You can't watch another movie after this.
- 1:00:27You wanna go to bed and cry yourself to sleep after this
- 1:00:30movie because you've just been emotionally rocked.
- 1:00:32That being said, I did note a couple movies that I think could
- 1:00:37could kind of pair with it, though it would be hard to watch
- 1:00:39them in a row. So if watching the Titanic is
- 1:00:43put you in a little bit of a disaster movie mood, you can
- 1:00:47watch The Day After Tomorrow following Panic.
- 1:00:50OK, If you're in a romantic mood after the movie, you can watch
- 1:00:54The Notebook. And if you just want to watch a
- 1:00:57Titanic RIP off, OK, you can watch Pearl Harbor.
- 1:01:02So it's the same. Movie.
- 1:01:05Pearl Harbor, I guess. Yeah, they were trying to make
- 1:01:07that. Pizza, the same.
- 1:01:08Yeah, yeah, I would. For me I said no need this is 2
- 1:01:14full movies. The first half is an awesome
- 1:01:17love story and the second-half is a horror slash disaster
- 1:01:21movie. You kill two birds with one
- 1:01:23stone and it's like it literally flips like a switch.
- 1:01:28The movie as soon as the iceberg hits the whole vibe changes and
- 1:01:32I have a few notes about it later that I noticed for the
- 1:01:35first time this time watching it.
- 1:01:39OK leave a pen, you take a penny.
- 1:01:41What scene are you taking out? What scene do you want to put
- 1:01:43in? So I didn't want to take
- 1:01:46anything out except I we talked about we could take this fitting
- 1:01:49scene. Out.
- 1:01:50Yeah, I wanna take that out too. The spitting scene, yeah, but
- 1:01:54it's such a perfect movie. I don't really want to take
- 1:01:56anything else out. I've I really thought about
- 1:01:58what's a bad scene in this movie.
- 1:01:59There isn't 1. All of the scenes build up the
- 1:02:02characters, all of the scenes add to their arcs.
- 1:02:05But something that I don't think that we see necessarily enough
- 1:02:08of is the accommodations in 3rd class.
- 1:02:13No, it never shows them eating. It never shows it doesn't.
- 1:02:17It doesn't. Show, but nobody wants to see
- 1:02:19that. Yeah, but it's still a luxury
- 1:02:20five star cruise that they paid for tickets to.
- 1:02:23So they're they're still being served by for sure.
- 1:02:25So I wanna see what that looks like.
- 1:02:27The whole point of the movie. It's a step down, but there's
- 1:02:30still passengers. Yeah, they're still being.
- 1:02:32Worked on like it's about the excess, the the ship is bigger
- 1:02:36than it needs to be. It's got things that you don't
- 1:02:38need. That's the whole point.
- 1:02:41And you see the the, the grand ballroom and all these things
- 1:02:43like nobody wants it. Like we see when he gets a room,
- 1:02:46it's basically like, you know, a modern day cruise.
- 1:02:50Ship just for the compare and contrast like they should have
- 1:02:53showed them in their dining room at least a couple times.
- 1:02:55So we know what that looked like.
- 1:02:56We don't know. We have no idea what.
- 1:02:57It looked like I see it wasn't in the movie and I don't see a
- 1:03:00need for it, but you do. I just wanted to know because
- 1:03:03it's a period piece. Like just out of historical
- 1:03:05curiosity, what is a third class ticket by you?
- 1:03:08How different is it? That's probably shitty.
- 1:03:10I'd like a little, you know, I'd like a little camera contrast
- 1:03:13here, but that's just me. What about you?
- 1:03:16I would take away the spitting scene.
- 1:03:19I would put, well, I would remix it.
- 1:03:21I would have them talking and then they run into the mom and
- 1:03:26Molly Brown before dinner. Yeah, they.
- 1:03:28Don't they? Spinning needs to go.
- 1:03:29Yeah, the. Spinning the whole sequence of
- 1:03:31spitting. I agree needs to fuck off.
- 1:03:34Add a scene. I would put.
- 1:03:36Actually, I want to see Jack and Fabrizio a little bit earlier,
- 1:03:44before they were playing cards. I just.
- 1:03:47Wanna how they became friends? Yeah, just like a couple of
- 1:03:49scenes. Doesn't have to be like maybe 1
- 1:03:51scene, like maybe a Jack could be telling a funny story or
- 1:03:54something like that and then you know, something just to show
- 1:03:57their friendship because they really gloss over that really.
- 1:04:00Fast, he said he like, made money working in a steel mill or
- 1:04:02something. That's probably where he met for
- 1:04:04Brizio. Yeah, but I didn't really like
- 1:04:06Fabricio gets killed in a really horrible way.
- 1:04:08And I was like, yeah, I felt worse for the Irish.
- 1:04:11Guy know? Him, Tommy.
- 1:04:12I felt worse for him. Yeah.
- 1:04:14You know, like when you get shot.
- 1:04:16I felt worse for him than for Vizio.
- 1:04:19No offensive Fabrizio RP. But anyway, it's pretty perfect
- 1:04:23movie. So it's hard to find a spot
- 1:04:25where you're like, oh, this needs to.
- 1:04:26Go yeah, I don't really want to take anything out.
- 1:04:28So good lazy Sunday vibes. So only the first half is Lazy
- 1:04:33Sunday Vice read the first tape. Like if you had the two VHS
- 1:04:36tapes, the first tape is the love story.
- 1:04:38The second tape was the disaster movie.
- 1:04:40If it randomly comes on TV and it's mid disaster, I'm not going
- 1:04:44to sit there and watch it. I have to turn it off because
- 1:04:46you have to emotionally prepare yourself for the absolute
- 1:04:49turmoil you're going to go through during the disaster
- 1:04:52scene. Whereas if I turn it on, it's
- 1:04:54mid romance. Yeah, yeah, I'll watch this for
- 1:04:56a little bit. Like you can casually watch it.
- 1:04:58A Lazy Sunday movie has to be something you can casually
- 1:05:00watch. The second-half of the movie
- 1:05:03puts you through the emotional trigger, so you cannot casually
- 1:05:06watch that. Yeah, you have to turn it off.
- 1:05:08So it's not a lazy Sunday movie. So this movie, I'll give it lazy
- 1:05:13Sunday approval, but like you said, it's it gets very
- 1:05:18treacherous near the end of the movie.
- 1:05:21But it's a lazy Sunday if you have time because it's three
- 1:05:24hours long. So you could get a lot done
- 1:05:27while this movie is just playing in the background.
- 1:05:30Moving in the background, babe. You can, yeah, but if you if you
- 1:05:34can't just sit and watch that, it's gonna burn your whole.
- 1:05:36After you said at the beginning of this podcast, you need just
- 1:05:38sit there, put your phone down. And you've never seen it.
- 1:05:41I said if you never seen it for the first time, for the first
- 1:05:44time, you need to give it your undivided attention.
- 1:05:46If you've seen it, you know the beats.
- 1:05:48It's just another walk. In the passively watch this
- 1:05:50movie, that's at least not the disaster part.
- 1:05:53Because you can't multitask. So the.
- 1:05:56Movie alias, go ahead. As I have a few, I don't think
- 1:06:01anything touches Titanic. It's a perfect title.
- 1:06:05It's it doesn't give too much away.
- 1:06:07OK, so I just threw a few out there that could possibly work.
- 1:06:12Unsinkable ship is one OK Jack and Rose give a little bit of a
- 1:06:20like frozen Jack like flirty Harry met Sally vibe.
- 1:06:22Yeah, Rosen Jacks sounds a little prettier.
- 1:06:26Yeah, either way Iceberg, but that kind of gives away.
- 1:06:30Iceberg. And maiden voyage.
- 1:06:34Maiden voyage isn't bad. None of them touched Titanic.
- 1:06:37Yeah, Titanic. So I got some.
- 1:06:39I couldn't think of anything serious.
- 1:06:40I mean, they're close. This most serious one I have is
- 1:06:43The Ship of Dreams. Oh, that would work.
- 1:06:46Like that one. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:06:48You know, it's like she walks into a dream and meets the guy
- 1:06:51ever dreams, you know, and then it becomes a nightmare.
- 1:06:54But I got a couple of funny ones just because because it's huge
- 1:06:59Trojan Excel. Yeah, but tighten already, Titan
- 1:07:04Titanic. I know Trojan XL it's a general
- 1:07:07no thick tanic because she big because you see, because the ass
- 1:07:13goes up right and he's describing how it like starts to
- 1:07:15sink. Yeah, right.
- 1:07:16So the front goes down and then the the the the back goes up.
- 1:07:20She's got her whole ass in here. Whole ass in the air.
- 1:07:22She got a big ass, right? So thick Tanic.
- 1:07:27But yeah, that's all I got. OK, shower thoughts?
- 1:07:30What are we doing here? So I have a few we we touched on
- 1:07:32a few. So I'll just go through some of
- 1:07:34the ones that we didn't bring up.
- 1:07:36Um, what the fuck right Does Bill Paxton have to the diamond?
- 1:07:40Does Cal not have errors like errors that could claim it if it
- 1:07:43was found? They claim it on insurance as a
- 1:07:46loss. So what does that mean?
- 1:07:47It's bouncy now for pirates. It's loss.
- 1:07:50I mean, yeah, I think it's fair game.
- 1:07:52It's in the ocean. You can just find it.
- 1:07:55So you can they just take it. Yeah, it's Finders Keepers.
- 1:07:59I don't know. I feel like that, like as soon
- 1:08:00as he gets it up there, there's gonna be lawsuits getting
- 1:08:02slapping like that does not belong.
- 1:08:04To Paxton RIP. He's getting paid by these rich
- 1:08:07people that know about it probably like diamond investors
- 1:08:11like like big companies that are paying for him to find it
- 1:08:14because it's worth like they're saying it's priceless, which
- 1:08:18makes it even worse that you fucking throws in the ocean.
- 1:08:20But. Anyway, yeah, it's pretty fucked
- 1:08:22up that she does that. Not having enough lifeboats and
- 1:08:27boasting the God himself could not sink this ship is really
- 1:08:30asking for it. Yeah, you, you pushing it, man,
- 1:08:32You're pushing. It we said that before.
- 1:08:33Yeah. I absolutely love the wardrobe
- 1:08:37in this movie. Good call.
- 1:08:38It's always interesting to see how people dress in period
- 1:08:41pieces like this. The Cruise uniforms are so crisp
- 1:08:45and white and even that guy working under deck is in like a
- 1:08:48full suit when he's working on. Like, it's just, it's so proper
- 1:08:52and classic. Rose has some absolutely
- 1:08:57stunning looks. She wears some gorgeous dresses.
- 1:09:00The beaded dress she wears when she's gonna jump off the back of
- 1:09:02the boat is it's a piece of art. Not my favorite.
- 1:09:06The ethereal flowing dress she wears at the sex scene is
- 1:09:10beautiful when it's flowing behind her when they're running
- 1:09:12through the cold together. Oh yeah, the pinstripe suit with
- 1:09:16the purple hat she wears while boarding the ship.
- 1:09:18That's my favorite. Her wardrobe.
- 1:09:21Is an entrance to the. Movie her wardrobe is.
- 1:09:23Impossible. It's impeccable, it's memorable,
- 1:09:25and it made me wanna beat her as a little girl.
- 1:09:28Just seeing the amazing, the amazing outfits that she wore.
- 1:09:32It's, it's, it's great. Um, I really liked when during
- 1:09:38the dance scene, the, the party scene in the third class, yeah,
- 1:09:43Fabrizio's dancing with a girl and he asks consent before
- 1:09:46putting his hands on her to dance.
- 1:09:48Oh, he does. Yeah, he says.
- 1:09:49It's OK if I put my hand right. Here he said that.
- 1:09:52Oh. Yeah, which is very sweet and
- 1:09:55especially for that time being considerate of a woman's private
- 1:09:59like personal space. It's it's very sweet and I
- 1:10:01really liked that Rose is 17 and we see her naked.
- 1:10:08Oh yeah? Well.
- 1:10:09It feels a bit seedy. Well, another reason to cut it
- 1:10:12out. But or don't show the titties.
- 1:10:15Just give us a back view of Jack.
- 1:10:17Jack's face and her, the back of her head and her back you don't
- 1:10:21see. Anything else feels feels a bit
- 1:10:23seedy, feels a bit like we're seeing a kid.
- 1:10:26Don't, don't love that When Rose spits in Cal's face when she's
- 1:10:32running away from the lifeboat. Fucking amazing.
- 1:10:34The actor Billy Zane did not know she was going to do that.
- 1:10:37She was originally supposed to stab him with a hairpin.
- 1:10:39I love it. She improvised it.
- 1:10:41So the shock and disgust that you see on his face and that
- 1:10:44moment is, is genuine. Yeah, but that when she spit,
- 1:10:48that's obviously like back to the spitting scene, but you
- 1:10:52didn't need that spitting scene to have her spit on Billy Zane.
- 1:10:56But man, that there's some force behind that shit.
- 1:10:59Like she almost. Like she really didn't need the
- 1:11:01things in cause Jack teaches her spit like.
- 1:11:04That you don't. If you really everybody can spit
- 1:11:07in someone's face, you don't need to Hock it in there.
- 1:11:09It's really fucking disgusting. Yeah, even if you give a little
- 1:11:12spit in someone's face, it's really offensive.
- 1:11:14That's that's a it's, you know, it's time to fight.
- 1:11:17Um, let me, let me, let me get someone.
- 1:11:19Hang on, I I just have 111 more. One more, and then I'll pass it
- 1:11:22over to you. So when Rose goes to save Jack
- 1:11:26and she has the axe. Yeah.
- 1:11:27And he tells her to do a couple practice swings.
- 1:11:29I when we were watching it, I was like, she misses the second
- 1:11:32time. Yeah.
- 1:11:33I said to you I would do the exact same thing.
- 1:11:35So if it were me, would you trust me?
- 1:11:38Well, first of all, I am. The more I watch that scene, the
- 1:11:40more I'm like, why? Like obviously they're in a rush
- 1:11:42and they're probably tired and fatigued, but I'm like, just
- 1:11:46take the axe, hold it up against the chain of the handcuff, like
- 1:11:50put it right up against and just do small hits.
- 1:11:54Axes are really strong and sharp.
- 1:11:58It will break that little. OK, but answer the question.
- 1:12:00Would you let me do like she did a huge swing to free you?
- 1:12:03Would you trust me? You wouldn't trust me.
- 1:12:06You're gonna die. That I would tell you to do it
- 1:12:07my way. No, you're going to die down
- 1:12:10there. You can insult.
- 1:12:13Me, I'm not insulting. You.
- 1:12:15She fucking closes her. You asking me would you trust me
- 1:12:18just tells me that you can't do it.
- 1:12:21She, no, she closes her eyes and she still does it.
- 1:12:23She doesn't even look. She closes her eyes, goes whack.
- 1:12:26Yeah, it's a movie. And guess what happens?
- 1:12:30He ends up dying because she can't fucking move aside on the
- 1:12:33on the on the door, OK? Anyway.
- 1:12:37My shower thoughts? I got a few here.
- 1:12:39This is the modern Romeo and Juliet story when I think about
- 1:12:43it. It's not that modern, no.
- 1:12:45Come on, it's not Shakespeare bro.
- 1:12:47It's still modern. It's the modern era.
- 1:12:49RJ has a movie because it's love that, you know, it triumphs over
- 1:12:57everything. You know, family gets in the way
- 1:13:00and it's forbidden love and you know, it's it's very passionate
- 1:13:06and like everybody can kind of like connect with it because
- 1:13:09there's always been there. You know, most people have had a
- 1:13:11scenario where you know, they, they, they feel, have feelings
- 1:13:16for somebody and then it's, you know, it's not, you know, it's
- 1:13:19not supposed to be that way or whatever the too young or this
- 1:13:22or whatever. I don't know.
- 1:13:24You know, they shouldn't be dating.
- 1:13:25There's always some kind of speed bump or there with
- 1:13:28somebody else. So I think it's a modern Romeo
- 1:13:31and Juliet story. Funny part though, Leo was in
- 1:13:35the remake of Romeo and Juliet which came out like the year
- 1:13:38before. Yeah, which was amazing.
- 1:13:40I think it was fucking garbage. I like it.
- 1:13:43Well, anyway, just kind of interesting that he made 2R and
- 1:13:47Juliet movies. If you think about it two years
- 1:13:50apart. Kathy Bates fucking G in this
- 1:13:54movie, one of my favorite scenes.
- 1:13:58I don't think it's the most iconic, but it's one of my
- 1:14:00favorite when she takes Jack and says come with me because like
- 1:14:05you look like shit and you were going to dinner because she's
- 1:14:07like he is that what you're wearing?
- 1:14:09And he's just kind of shrugs and she fucking gives him to borrow
- 1:14:13her sons tuxedo and it fits him so sharp and his hair is all
- 1:14:18done up. So he obviously like got
- 1:14:20showered up. She probably let him use the
- 1:14:22bathroom, like the fucking first class bathroom to get all dolled
- 1:14:25up. And the guy was looking sharp as
- 1:14:27hell, you know? Um, I got a laundry list here,
- 1:14:32so we're gonna be here for a while.
- 1:14:33Jumanji, Dad, he's fucking back in this movie.
- 1:14:36I mentioned him earlier. This guy, what's his name again?
- 1:14:40Jonathan High. Jonathan Hyde, amazing.
- 1:14:42Character actor. Amazing, but he's always an
- 1:14:47uppity douche in the movies. Uh, OK, I gotta question for
- 1:14:51you. This is an interesting one
- 1:14:53because I'm gonna get a little sappy here because this movie,
- 1:14:56it gives you emotional. Damage.
- 1:14:57Oh my God, it's emotional damage.
- 1:14:59I'm talking about that. In the next segment, when is the
- 1:15:02moment your opinion where she falls for Jack?
- 1:15:05I think it's a little bit, it's a little bit of him sitting at
- 1:15:10that table and then him also taking her to the party.
- 1:15:15OK. I think it's twofold because she
- 1:15:16falls in love with him a little bit like, wow, he fits into my
- 1:15:19world. And then he takes her down to
- 1:15:21the to the basement basically for the party.
- 1:15:24And she's like, wow, I fit into his world.
- 1:15:26OK. So it's her like kind of opening
- 1:15:28up and realizing that this is what love is supposed to feel
- 1:15:31like and not what she's experiencing with Cal.
- 1:15:34That's that's a good call because I'm pretty close.
- 1:15:36So I have a distinct moment in the movie where I notice
- 1:15:40something for the first time because I'm watching it and I'm
- 1:15:43like, when is the moment where she decides that I'm not going
- 1:15:49with Cal anymore? This is the guy.
- 1:15:52Um, so I'm like the second where he gets.
- 1:15:57She looks up at the clock at the top of the stairs and Jack is
- 1:16:00waiting for her. No, it was the other way, sorry.
- 1:16:02She's at the top of the stairs. She's getting ready for the
- 1:16:04dinner party. And Jack is at the bottom and
- 1:16:07he's pretending to shake hands and be like, formal.
- 1:16:10And she goes to the bottom of the stairs, sees him.
- 1:16:13He greets her. He kisses her hand and says, I
- 1:16:16saw that in a Nickelodeon once, and I always wanted to do that.
- 1:16:19And she chuckles. And then they both turn towards
- 1:16:24Col. and her mom. As they turn, his focus is on
- 1:16:28them. And if you look at her face, she
- 1:16:31has this look on her face like the, I think that's the moment
- 1:16:37that she falls for him. It's this distinct look.
- 1:16:40She gives him this look like, Oh my God, like this is the moment.
- 1:16:45I swear. If you watch it again, we'll
- 1:16:47replay that clip. And if you guys are watching the
- 1:16:50listeners, when you watch it again, wait for that moment.
- 1:16:53You're going to know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 1:16:55She has this look on her face. You're like, that's the fucking
- 1:16:58look of someone falling in love. It's really.
- 1:17:01And I'm like, did James Cameron tell him to?
- 1:17:03Do this. She doesn't actually tell him
- 1:17:05she's getting off the boat with him or give fully given to it
- 1:17:07until he I'm flying scene. I said she falls for him.
- 1:17:11Yeah, you can fall for someone and still have reservations.
- 1:17:14You just don't realize you're falling for them.
- 1:17:17When the as a viewer, I'm watching it, I'm like, this is
- 1:17:21the moment that she falls for him, whether she knows it or
- 1:17:23not. You know, sometimes people fall
- 1:17:26for people and they don't realize.
- 1:17:29It yeah, it's a really good performance.
- 1:17:30Power and I'm like did is this James Cameron telling her to do
- 1:17:34this or is this because. They did.
- 1:17:36They did have really good chemistry.
- 1:17:38They did. And like a lot of people thought
- 1:17:41that they had a little thing off screen because they did another
- 1:17:44movie together years later, Revolutionary Rd. because the
- 1:17:47chemistry was so. Good, that's about a fucked up
- 1:17:49marriage. Ohno I know but I'm saying like
- 1:17:51their chemistry is so good it seems real.
- 1:17:53Yeah, they do have chemistry in real life.
- 1:17:55So that's that's one thing. And the look she gives them is
- 1:17:58one of pure adoration. The Irish dance party is pure
- 1:18:03fire. Basically that whole sequence to
- 1:18:06me was a snapshot of their lives.
- 1:18:09If she was free, if she was free to make the decisions she
- 1:18:14wanted, that was a snapshot of their lives to me.
- 1:18:17Just, you know, she's smoking a cig at a party, she's showing
- 1:18:21off her ballet moves. They're dancing, they're they're
- 1:18:24doing a little dance off. OK, you.
- 1:18:26Know that to me is the moment where they're like free, because
- 1:18:31even at the end of the dance, before fucking Cal's assistant
- 1:18:34shows up, they're doing a little circle dance, right?
- 1:18:38They're holding hands, they're running around in a circle and
- 1:18:40it slows down and it shows like this, almost like a dreamlike
- 1:18:45scenario where they're having a blast.
- 1:18:47Yes, but this could really be a little bit of beer goggles.
- 1:18:52In her case, she's seeing him when he's on vacation.
- 1:18:56He's still on a luxury cruise, too.
- 1:18:59Yeah, she's seeing him in this light that lines up with her
- 1:19:02life a lot more recently on Instagram, I saw an AI of what
- 1:19:07would happen if Jack lived and they got off the boat together.
- 1:19:11And they're poor shit, living in a fucking shanty.
- 1:19:15They have a bunch of kids. He works in like a steel mill.
- 1:19:18He's dirty, She gets fat. They're so poor.
- 1:19:23And then Cal comes to visit them and he's like all clean and nice
- 1:19:26looking with like a nice young wife, like, yeah, but it kind
- 1:19:29of, it kind of is. It's like vacation.
- 1:19:31Love money. Money doesn't buy happiness.
- 1:19:33It doesn't. It doesn't, it doesn't.
- 1:19:35But when she when you're growing up in the lap of luxury.
- 1:19:39Yeah. It's really hard.
- 1:19:40She wasn't happy, she wasn't, but miserable she.
- 1:19:43Wanted to kill herself. She was ready to jump in a
- 1:19:45fucking ocean, the Atlantic Ocean.
- 1:19:48You know what I mean? Yeah, this guy saw her.
- 1:19:51He he treated her like a human, like cow was like you like, what
- 1:19:56was he offer? You like lamb, Right.
- 1:19:58Right. Sweetpea.
- 1:19:59She fucking hated being called Sweet Pea.
- 1:20:01Well, she also shook her head. She's like, no, I don't like
- 1:20:02lamb. And you just fucking ordered me
- 1:20:04lamb. Yeah, exactly how you like it.
- 1:20:06Yeah, anyway, I think that was like a snapshot of them, their
- 1:20:12life after also the first half of this movie, right up until
- 1:20:17when the iceberg actually maybe the sex scene.
- 1:20:21The whole movie is colourful, it's bright, the sky is blue
- 1:20:27hair, the sunsets, the facial features, everything is warm.
- 1:20:34Everything is colourful. The rooms, the inside of the
- 1:20:37ship, everything is warm tones and colourful.
- 1:20:43The second-half, once the ship hits the iceberg, the colour of
- 1:20:46the movie fades away. Everything.
- 1:20:49Is blue. And Gray and dark.
- 1:20:52And that's why I think it's like 2 different movies and it's such
- 1:20:56a flip. It's such a distinct like flip
- 1:21:00of a switch. It's crazy.
- 1:21:01It's seamless. Like you, you, I know the first
- 1:21:03half of the movie we fall in love with the characters.
- 1:21:05In the second-half of the movie, we watched them their lives.
- 1:21:07Just watch everything. Parish, Yeah, Hot take here.
- 1:21:13So Jack's locked downstairs by Mr. Ismay and he.
- 1:21:19Not Mysterious Man by Cal. Cal's assistant watching him
- 1:21:23with a gun. This jacket sodomized by this
- 1:21:26guy. No, I mean, we don't know.
- 1:21:29Why we don't know this guy, he doesn't have, you know,
- 1:21:32obviously he doesn't have a partner.
- 1:21:35I don't know if he's a sicko. He's got a gun.
- 1:21:38There's nobody around. I'm like, he's obviously
- 1:21:43unhinged because you know he's rolling a bullet off table.
- 1:21:47It's not bad enough that he leaves him chained to a fucking
- 1:21:50wall to drown. Well, that's what it means.
- 1:21:51He sodomized to make him like that was ever gonna see him
- 1:21:54again. No, he doesn't.
- 1:21:55He doesn't write them. I mean, you don't know.
- 1:21:59Was there, I know. OK bro Cal is a psycho bastard
- 1:22:05he shoots a Jack and rose like 7 times then look sad and shouts I
- 1:22:12hope you have a nice time together.
- 1:22:15Like what the fuck is wrong with you?
- 1:22:17This guy is fucked up. He's not a he's messed up.
- 1:22:21He's a messed up. Person because he lost.
- 1:22:23He's not used to not having control over people on losing
- 1:22:26something because he learns in that half of the movie that his
- 1:22:30money is now useless. You have to rely on your wit and
- 1:22:34your survival instinct alone to get out of this.
- 1:22:36But all he does get out, yeah. But it's so he, he snatches a
- 1:22:40little girl who's crying cause her parents obviously gone are
- 1:22:43missing. And you're like, oh, that's a
- 1:22:46little bit of a redemption for him because he saves the life.
- 1:22:49I'm like, but his intention was to save his own.
- 1:22:52And then you're like, no, no, he redeemed himself.
- 1:22:53He saved the little girl. And then later we see this
- 1:22:56fucking asshole on the same lifeboat hitting people with
- 1:22:59oars to get the fuck off the lifeboat.
- 1:23:03She's throwing people off the lifeboat.
- 1:23:05Well, his lifeboat like almost capsized.
- 1:23:07Like we don't even know if that little girl survived.
- 1:23:09I'm sure she survived but like he's throwing people off.
- 1:23:12The boat was pretty much empty from what I.
- 1:23:15Saw it was pretty empty because they couldn't let people near it
- 1:23:18cause they were swamped. It does this movie hit different
- 1:23:21as a parent ready. We we got to unpack some shit
- 1:23:25here because it absolutely does hit different.
- 1:23:28As a parent, the first time we both saw this, we were kids.
- 1:23:31Yeah. And I have several parts of the
- 1:23:34movie that it's hard to fucking watch.
- 1:23:37Yeah. Do you wanna?
- 1:23:38Do you wanna? Start or do you want?
- 1:23:39No, no, go ahead. So like I said earlier, I was
- 1:23:43really thinking about the fact that Rose was 17 the whole time
- 1:23:46I was watching this movie for the first time and it makes it
- 1:23:49hit different. I always thought of her as an
- 1:23:52adult during past watchings, but she really is basically a kid
- 1:23:58and it explains a lot about her personality.
- 1:24:02Like she's a little bit naive, she's a little bit starry eyed
- 1:24:05and it could explain also why she's so playful and fun loving.
- 1:24:09This spitting scene with Jack is something that a couple of kids
- 1:24:12would do. This spinning while they're
- 1:24:14dancing is a childish thing to do.
- 1:24:17That's true. She giggles while she's naked in
- 1:24:20front of him for the drawing, flipping off Cal's henchman in
- 1:24:25the elevator. Like it's all very teenage kid
- 1:24:28stuff that she's doing. And if you're viewing the the
- 1:24:31movie through, watching her as a 17 year old, watching a girl so
- 1:24:36young makes me feel protective of her as a mother and so sad
- 1:24:40for her that she feels trapped when her life is really just
- 1:24:43beginning. Yeah.
- 1:24:45So that hits different as a parent for me.
- 1:24:48I never thought of that cause I always just pictured it as like
- 1:24:51a 1920 year old but 17. Yeah, but we have a daughter now
- 1:24:55and like just. No that's fine.
- 1:24:56It's just a 17 year old part. Like she's being 17 is really a
- 1:24:59game changer. Yeah, it really is for me
- 1:25:01because I didn't know she was that young.
- 1:25:03In previous watches, I thought she was maybe 19 or 20, but she
- 1:25:05was. She was a kid watching the
- 1:25:08people say goodbye to their dads and husbands and get on the
- 1:25:11lifeboats. Fucked me up.
- 1:25:13This one dad says this boat is for the mommies and children.
- 1:25:16There's gonna be another boat for the daddies that I'm going
- 1:25:19to go on. And he's trying to comfort his
- 1:25:21daughters, knowing he's very likely going to die on that
- 1:25:24ship. Yeah.
- 1:25:26And that's really hard to watch. And I, I said to you, I said I I
- 1:25:29would just die with you. I would leave you.
- 1:25:31There was a few moments where you're like, I can't watch this
- 1:25:33anymore and I'm like, yo, power through bro.
- 1:25:35Another scene that as a parent just will absolutely fucking
- 1:25:39destroy you is the mother in 3rd class putting her babies to
- 1:25:41sleep on a sinking ship and telling them a story knowing she
- 1:25:45can't save them. She she tells them a story in
- 1:25:49hopes that they'll fall asleep so they can have a more peaceful
- 1:25:52death just because like she wants to do one last act as
- 1:25:56their mother of comforting her children.
- 1:25:58Let's fucking do it. They lived happily together for
- 1:26:02300 years in the land of Tear, Nanog, Band of Eternal Youth
- 1:26:09and. He's really sad, it's really
- 1:26:11fucked up. It's a very sad scene because
- 1:26:13she's trying to get them to fall asleep so that the water comes
- 1:26:16in. They don't realize, like they
- 1:26:18just drown. They'll they'll drown more
- 1:26:20quickly. But yo, it was women and
- 1:26:23children first. Not not for the third class
- 1:26:26people. I know, but.
- 1:26:27They didn't let them. They didn't let them out.
- 1:26:29They did there was women like I mean they were late to the
- 1:26:32thing, but fuck, man, like that. When I see that scene, I'm like,
- 1:26:35he did you like I don't know, I would, you know, that's it's
- 1:26:40unfair quitter mentality, you know?
- 1:26:42Well, babe, she gives up because she's like, are we gonna stand
- 1:26:44here and wait to escape? And what, it's ever gonna come,
- 1:26:46or can I put my kids down and let them have one last peaceful
- 1:26:49moment before they die? Yeah, it's horrible.
- 1:26:51Dark Times. And then one thing, I never
- 1:26:54noticed this scene before and you pointed it out to me and.
- 1:26:57Get in the hallway. No, the mother frozen to death
- 1:27:00with her baby in her arms. Oh yeah.
- 1:27:03There's a small baby in her arms.
- 1:27:05Yeah, I gotta tell you right now.
- 1:27:06Viewer discretion is advised if you have a baby or small child.
- 1:27:10I got very upset by some of the scenes involving children.
- 1:27:14Yeah, this was PG13. Yeah, you almost turned it off
- 1:27:17because I was getting so upset. We had trouble finishing this
- 1:27:20movie this time because of the amount of death and because of
- 1:27:24the amount of children drowning and freezing to death.
- 1:27:28You don't think of it, but there's a mother she approached.
- 1:27:30I think it's the same mother. She approaches the captain, the
- 1:27:32captain, where can I go? And she's holding like a three
- 1:27:35month old. Yeah, and he just ignores her.
- 1:27:37No, he he's, he's shell shocked. He walks away cause he can't
- 1:27:39help her. But it's it's like as as a
- 1:27:42parent, all you can think of is how helpless and you'd feel and
- 1:27:46how you'd want to do anything to save your children.
- 1:27:48And it literally shows cases where people.
- 1:27:50When? When Rose?
- 1:27:51So I wrote the little sisters crying for their dad when Rose
- 1:27:56and Jack like she saves him from the she breaks the handcuffs and
- 1:27:59then they're walking down this hall and it's flooding.
- 1:28:03I think it's D deck and there's this little boy and he's just
- 1:28:06crying in the hallway by himself.
- 1:28:08And Jack, like we can't leave. Jack grabs him and says we can't
- 1:28:11leave him. So he picks him up.
- 1:28:12He's running, he's going in the right direction.
- 1:28:15And the dad of the boy runs into them, doesn't speak English,
- 1:28:19takes the son and runs in the wrong direction and the door
- 1:28:24blows open. And then they just drown.
- 1:28:27Like that scene. I've seen it a dozen times.
- 1:28:30It never registered. But that little kid is gone, and
- 1:28:36so is the dad. Yeah.
- 1:28:37It's really fucking sad. And, you know, I the amount of
- 1:28:45kids that get like basically the killed in this movie is, is
- 1:28:50insane. I mean, there's people that die
- 1:28:52obviously, but the like adults, but the kids, it's really,
- 1:28:55really sad. It's really sad.
- 1:28:57Yeah, that that mother with the with the frozen baby in her
- 1:29:00arms. Even mentioned the Middle
- 1:29:01Eastern family, yeah, because they couldn't read the signs
- 1:29:03right. So he's gotta he's got a.
- 1:29:05Book really sad. That's addiction.
- 1:29:06The dad's trying to read the translation and the dictionary,
- 1:29:10and it's a mom with, I think, two kids and the husband, and
- 1:29:13nobody's helping them because nobody speaks their language.
- 1:29:16Nobody can help them. It's really.
- 1:29:17Sad, really, really sad. So, But there was 2423 hundred
- 1:29:23people on that ship and 1500 people. 1500 people died, only
- 1:29:2870, only 700. Service fucking crazy.
- 1:29:32Yeah, the the drownings, the the the kids.
- 1:29:35It's just, it's really sad this movie hits you in the feels like
- 1:29:41like as a parent, it just demolishes you.
- 1:29:44Like you're watching it and all you can think is what would you
- 1:29:47do? And that's one question that I'm
- 1:29:51going to ask you now. If you were on this ship with
- 1:29:55your family and the ships going down, what would you do?
- 1:30:00Well, I would. What do you think you would do?
- 1:30:02Obviously get the four of us to a lifeboat as quickly as
- 1:30:06possible and hope that it's one of the ones that was letting on
- 1:30:08men because some of them were letting on men.
- 1:30:10So hopefully all four of us were getting a life and be able to
- 1:30:12escape. Obviously hindsight is 2020, so
- 1:30:15if I was in this situation I would do everything in my power
- 1:30:20to get you 3 onto a life boat and then given the
- 1:30:26circumstances, I would try to get on one myself.
- 1:30:30But if there's a kid that's crying somewhere, I'm going to
- 1:30:36try to help them like Cal did. But I'm not going to just, you
- 1:30:41know, I'm gonna try to help the kid because I want to help the
- 1:30:43kid. But if you can get my ass saved
- 1:30:47and to my family again, I'm going to do it.
- 1:30:49And if this kid is an orphan and the parents are gone, that kid's
- 1:30:53going to be under our wing. Yeah, we'll take the.
- 1:30:56Kids, you know what I mean? That's hindsight, 2020,
- 1:30:58obviously. But yeah, in the chaos of that
- 1:31:00movie, like who the. Fuck.
- 1:31:01Well at the beginning people were being leisurely about it.
- 1:31:03Like if we had been smart about it and got into the lifeboats as
- 1:31:06quickly as possible and they were saying some of them were
- 1:31:09letting on men, maybe all four of us could have just gotten a
- 1:31:11life boat. Yeah, that movie, it's like it
- 1:31:14hits you in so many different levels emotionally, you know, it
- 1:31:19gets you in the fields. There's emotional damage.
- 1:31:23There's all kinds of like, there's some anger, there's some
- 1:31:25disappointment. Like holy shit, James Cameron,
- 1:31:28what are you doing to? Us you'll hit the full range of
- 1:31:30emotions. There's not a single emotion you
- 1:31:31don't feel throughout the movie. Exactly.
- 1:31:34OK, for the rating of the movie, how many lifeboats out of 10 are
- 1:31:39you gonna rate this movie? 10 lifeboats out of 10. 10
- 1:31:42lifeboats out of 10. OK, I'm going to rate this movie
- 1:31:4710 lifeboats out of 10 as well because it is a fucking banger.
- 1:31:52And everybody don't think that we do these ratings lightly
- 1:31:55because this is the second movie that we've given 10 out of 10.
- 1:31:58We just have only done movies that absolutely slap.
- 1:32:02Yeah, there will be movies that coming that will not get as high
- 1:32:06of a rating. We are critical of the work that
- 1:32:09we watch. Yeah, and we like to watch
- 1:32:12movies that we like to. So.
- 1:32:14OK, so that was the Titanic pod with a Titanic runtime.
- 1:32:19We're well over an hour and a half.
- 1:32:21Thank you for listening. We hope you like that episode.
