- 0:24Speaker 2: only yet your Christmas shopping done?
- 0:40Speaker 3: All right?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to No Dribble. This is very exciting
- 0:43Speaker 2: for us because it's the last time we'll be in
- 0:45Speaker 2: studio together in the year, isn't it Boooo? But oh,
- 0:51Speaker 2: I should introduce us. I'm Carolyn Swindell.
- 0:53Speaker 3: And now I'm Sad.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm Katherlin Cox, Sad Katherine Cox, and and I'm Liz Ellis. Hello,
- 0:58Speaker 2: Liz Ellis. Yes, we've been busy Dribblers banking some episodes
- 1:02Speaker 2: that are going to be coming out special episodes this
- 1:04Speaker 2: summer season that will come out starting next week or
- 1:08Speaker 2: soon starting on the twenty eighth. But this is the
- 1:11Speaker 2: last time that we're doing something where we're really responding
- 1:13Speaker 2: to stuff that's happening in the moment. And stuff's been
- 1:15Speaker 2: happening in the moment, hasn't it.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Oh, it sure has lately.
- 1:18Speaker 4: We won't talk about the election, but we'll talk about
- 1:20Speaker 4: some other stuff backing.
- 1:21Speaker 2: You know, I'm going to be cheered up.
- 1:23Speaker 5: No, but you know, we do have a couple of
- 1:25Speaker 5: extra trophies in the Trophy Captain we during the weekend,
- 1:27Speaker 5: so that's a good thing.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I was wondering how you two felt with the Fast
- 1:32Speaker 2: five that it now seems that a coordinated dance is
- 1:35Speaker 2: a core competency for a professional netballer now, and I
- 1:38Speaker 2: wondered how you guys would have gone with that.
- 1:41Speaker 4: We were talking about this on the weekend because we're
- 1:43Speaker 4: in Brisbane for Meghan Anderson's fiftieth birthday.
- 1:45Speaker 3: A lot of netballers up there.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Happy birthday, Meagan. I know it was good welcome to
- 1:49Speaker 2: true wisdom.
- 1:51Speaker 4: It was good fun. But yourself and there was Megan
- 1:56Speaker 4: and Nat Sloan all said thank god that that wasn't
- 2:02Speaker 4: a big thing because we did start fast five, didn't
- 2:05Speaker 4: we When you had a few years of actually playing
- 2:07Speaker 4: it but it wasn't Did you miss it all together?
- 2:09Speaker 5: I missed it all together about the year after I
- 2:11Speaker 5: retired the Fast five. You speak on something else. It
- 2:15Speaker 5: started in England, didn't it.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:16Speaker 4: I feel like you and I be touched at the
- 2:18Speaker 4: hit the whole time through our careers. But clearly you
- 2:21Speaker 4: broke away way earlier than I recollect.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Clearly you could go on without me.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yes, well no, not if I had to dance on
- 2:28Speaker 4: a court by myself.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But it's such a cool thing that they do, isn't it.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And it does.
- 2:33Speaker 4: It takes over a little bit from from the games
- 2:36Speaker 4: of netball.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Well so one of our dribblers, Darryl Milton, who did
- 2:39Speaker 2: use the word moist once on the Facebook page and
- 2:42Speaker 2: which I think is a very aggressive thing to do.
- 2:46Speaker 2: But he's written, Look, I love the Fast five concept,
- 2:48Speaker 2: but doesn't it kind of feel like summer indoor netball
- 2:50Speaker 2: where you and your winter teammates all sign up and
- 2:53Speaker 2: say they'll definitely play, but on the night only five
- 2:55Speaker 2: people turn up.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Oh god, I love that. Yes, some good weren't they?
- 3:02Speaker 4: Like the men The Australian Men's boy Band to NZ
- 3:06Speaker 4: was great, haven't seen it? The Aussie Girls though, have
- 3:09Speaker 4: not seen a clip of anything that the Australian Girls did,
- 3:12Speaker 4: So if anyone's got one of those, if you can
- 3:14Speaker 4: share it with us please.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I don't love it. It's kind of nice, but it's
- 3:18Speaker 2: also like just shut up and plain apple.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Oh you're such a greitch.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Yeah that's right.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Just because Trump won the election doesn't mean you have
- 3:25Speaker 5: to hate on dancing.
- 3:26Speaker 6: I know.
- 3:28Speaker 2: But would you have done it?
- 3:30Speaker 1: Of course I wouldn't have done it.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Can I remember how much it remind you how much
- 3:34Speaker 2: stick I got for not doing the entire Macarina in
- 3:37Speaker 2: the game that I was sent to in the Ridiculous Hat.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Oh yeah you did, that's true. Yeah, but that's different.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Like the only dance that I got up and danced
- 3:44Speaker 4: at Megan's too was the Nutbush because it's a join
- 3:48Speaker 4: a song it is, so you've got to do the
- 3:50Speaker 4: macarena if you had a massive event, but it's quite long. No, Yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 4: I get your point. Okay, Like get those.
- 3:56Speaker 2: If you're at a party and you're doing something that's different,
- 3:59Speaker 2: and so I think that nutbush is just a different
- 4:02Speaker 2: It is called the Madison, you know.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I don't know that we've had it, have we had
- 4:07Speaker 2: it on the pod.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I feel we're in this room?
- 4:10Speaker 1: Was it not?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Forget what's been recalled talking about the Madison or nutbush
- 4:14Speaker 2: and how it is the national dance of this country.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Why is it called the Madison? That was originally what.
- 4:19Speaker 2: It was called, and now it's just that it has
- 4:21Speaker 2: become called nutbush because that is the song that is
- 4:24Speaker 2: it is danced to.
- 4:26Speaker 4: I didn't know that it was an Australian thing because
- 4:29Speaker 4: there were a stack of kiwis at Meghan's party on
- 4:31Speaker 4: the weekend and when it came on, they were all
- 4:33Speaker 4: just looking at us like what is this?
- 4:34Speaker 3: They even started filming it. Oh what are you doing?
- 4:38Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Early?
- 4:40Speaker 1: I was sure, yeah, well they did. I mean, let's
- 4:43Speaker 1: be fair.
- 4:43Speaker 5: They did get up and sing a beautiful song and
- 4:46Speaker 5: we all went, now we can't sing and then what
- 4:48Speaker 5: we handsome with.
- 4:49Speaker 1: The nut.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I'll see your song and raise you a fairly simple
- 4:56Speaker 2: and repetitive dance.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Godd you never bra And I couldn't wear one with
- 5:01Speaker 3: my top.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It was a great top that was really nice.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Except it couldn't so it was doing the nut bush
- 5:07Speaker 4: was problematic.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Get that take on one.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I don't done much there anyway, So I just kind
- 5:13Speaker 3: of held them for a bit.
- 5:14Speaker 2: They're not they're not pleasure. They do get a sweat up,
- 5:16Speaker 2: but it's better than flopping her out. One of the
- 5:22Speaker 2: greatest moments of my life was when in year five
- 5:25Speaker 2: and we were learning the learning the Madison at school
- 5:28Speaker 2: and I was picked out to stand up on the
- 5:30Speaker 2: barbecue and show everyone how to do it properly.
- 5:33Speaker 3: So, wow, barbecue barbecue at school. Yeah, God, that's cool. Okay,
- 5:38Speaker 3: like it.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So it's elevated primary school, ye. Well, and then not
- 5:42Speaker 2: long after there was some podiums, no doubt probably, but
- 5:45Speaker 2: I never got up on top of the oh those
- 5:48Speaker 2: yeah sure a right, yeah, but yeah, that was a
- 5:50Speaker 2: big moment for me in primary school and maybe that's
- 5:52Speaker 2: where my life is peaked. And everything after that has
- 5:54Speaker 2: been trying to he'll recreate that that glory.
- 5:58Speaker 3: They have a fairly good table right here if you
- 6:00Speaker 3: want to get.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Nice nice I am wearing a short skirt today, so
- 6:03Speaker 2: that would be fun.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Let's film it and let dubbilers have a look at you.
- 6:06Speaker 2: What song would you guys have done something to like
- 6:08Speaker 2: if it was like, okay, you're up now, diamonds, you
- 6:11Speaker 2: have to do a dance. What would you have done?
- 6:13Speaker 3: So the macarena? I would definitely join in.
- 6:15Speaker 4: I know they do their own kind of original things,
- 6:18Speaker 4: but if someone put Gagman style on, definitely give.
- 6:21Speaker 2: But that wasn't out when you were so I'm talking
- 6:23Speaker 2: about you. They were playing together back then.
- 6:26Speaker 1: What was this?
- 6:26Speaker 2: There must have been something you were singing on buses
- 6:28Speaker 2: or something that was a really a song that brought
- 6:31Speaker 2: you all together. Probably the one who wants to be
- 6:36Speaker 2: with you.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I don't know that that's necessarily one you can dance to.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I know that's too hard.
- 6:43Speaker 2: It must have been something, so it would have been
- 6:45Speaker 2: some class back to that.
- 6:47Speaker 1: We will It'll wake.
- 6:49Speaker 5: What was that great Robbie Williams song that we love.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Let Me entertain You.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that would have been a good one.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Actually, it would have so smartly zealous, but.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I still wouldn't dan at least would have been at
- 7:01Speaker 1: the back.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I've seen a few of the you know, the dance structures,
- 7:04Speaker 4: so they've obviously got the best dances at.
- 7:06Speaker 3: The front, and so what I do when I see those,
- 7:09Speaker 3: I always watch the person at the back who's trying
- 7:12Speaker 3: to hide that.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Well, they all looked like they were having a lot
- 7:18Speaker 2: of fun, so that was good.
- 7:19Speaker 4: And Australia both won as you say, but they beat
- 7:23Speaker 4: mews Ouland in both games as well, so that always
- 7:27Speaker 4: makes it feel good, doesn't it. So the girls made
- 7:29Speaker 4: it three in a row and the boys with a
- 7:32Speaker 4: buzzer beater to win the game beat the defending champs
- 7:36Speaker 4: at weren'ty Zealand.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So that's that interesting because how convincingly the Kelpies have
- 7:41Speaker 2: just won their test series that it came down to
- 7:43Speaker 2: quite a tight one.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yes and fast, well that's the way of fast high right.
- 7:47Speaker 5: It actually does reward the teams who take a risk,
- 7:50Speaker 5: and I think like it is the potential for upsets
- 7:53Speaker 5: in that form of the game.
- 7:54Speaker 1: It's exciting.
- 7:55Speaker 2: It's like the T twenty concept, isn't it. It's like
- 7:57Speaker 2: it's the same game, but it is actually it through
- 8:00Speaker 2: all different strategies and different styles of play.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Liz, I think it has up the ante a little
- 8:04Speaker 4: bit though, because when it was in Australia last and
- 8:07Speaker 4: we worked on it was in Melbourne, I believe, and
- 8:10Speaker 4: I think we had the dances and stuff, but I
- 8:12Speaker 4: don't know it was as much of the party thing
- 8:14Speaker 4: as it seems to be. Now, I do remember Sue
- 8:17Speaker 4: Gordion doing a shoey fantastic at the Fast five in Melbourne.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Remember she got some punter's shoe from the crowd and
- 8:24Speaker 4: drank beer out of it. No, no, while she was
- 8:28Speaker 4: doing the crowd entertainment stuff like I think she was
- 8:30Speaker 4: on court doing some kind of hosting duties that way,
- 8:34Speaker 4: and she did it.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Should I have a sense so that we filmed it.
- 8:38Speaker 1: It got put to air at some point. Yeah, I
- 8:40Speaker 1: would like that maybe all.
- 8:41Speaker 4: This stuff from anyone, if you've got that, send that
- 8:44Speaker 4: into Limb and surely and.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Limb could find it for us. But on Darryl Milton's point,
- 8:50Speaker 2: I had a bit of a dilemma on the weekend.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Now I'm not coaching some on it bull as you know,
- 8:54Speaker 2: so I'm trying to be a supportive parent sitting on
- 8:58Speaker 2: the sideline. And we arrived a bit late. Dot was
- 9:00Speaker 2: there on time, but Pete and I are uped a
- 9:01Speaker 2: bit like she was at a sleepover. But the other
- 9:04Speaker 2: team didn't have seven, they only had six and we
- 9:07Speaker 2: had eight, so we gave them a player and then
- 9:11Speaker 2: they beat us. Yeah, and We've said to the girls
- 9:14Speaker 2: because We've got this big squad. There's eleven of them.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Nine of them play any week, so it's a different
- 9:18Speaker 2: team every week. It's going to be like, look, it's
- 9:20Speaker 2: hard to get this team humming. Summer netball is about fun,
- 9:23Speaker 2: and this way, everybody got a full game. No one
- 9:26Speaker 2: was sitting on the sidelines at all. But it was
- 9:28Speaker 2: a dilemma because it's like, well, we don't have to
- 9:29Speaker 2: do this. They've got enough to field a team, and
- 9:33Speaker 2: we managed to get our act together to have everybody
- 9:36Speaker 2: there plus a sub. But it just didn't really feel
- 9:39Speaker 2: in the spirit of things to go, well, no, we're
- 9:41Speaker 2: going to play you with six and we're going to
- 9:43Speaker 2: have eight. But they got the competition points and we did.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I don't like the jocky one, isn't it.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I feel like if I was the other team, I
- 9:51Speaker 4: would say have the points.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Well yeah, yeah, I probably wouldn't have asked for the
- 9:56Speaker 2: player in the first place. And they like, they had
- 9:59Speaker 2: a shooter who's like the size of you, and her
- 10:01Speaker 2: shooting accuracy was the same, so it's like there wasn't
- 10:03Speaker 2: really much that we could do against that. She was
- 10:05Speaker 2: buddy good, but it was just it was an interesting one,
- 10:07Speaker 2: and as parents we were reflecting on it. And we've
- 10:10Speaker 2: got a young high schooler who is the coach of
- 10:12Speaker 2: the team and she makes the decisions. And I did
- 10:15Speaker 2: say to her at one stage, I said, you don't
- 10:17Speaker 2: have to give them that we could have hold. But
- 10:20Speaker 2: as parents were sitting there going what's the right thing
- 10:23Speaker 2: to do? And in the annoym at peace that It's
- 10:25Speaker 2: like we have been saying to the girls, this is
- 10:26Speaker 2: about just playing netball regularly. This is not the winter
- 10:30Speaker 2: comp it's not the serious one. You'll be playing out
- 10:32Speaker 2: a position. Let's stay chill and relaxed about it. And
- 10:35Speaker 2: I think this was a very good underlining of that
- 10:37Speaker 2: message for them. But it was tricky and we're sort
- 10:39Speaker 2: of we're down at halftime and it's like, well, should
- 10:42Speaker 2: we take out?
- 10:43Speaker 4: But it also gives your player the chance to play
- 10:46Speaker 4: exactly exactly I think right decision to make.
- 10:49Speaker 3: But I don't know about the other team taking the points.
- 10:51Speaker 3: That's a bit cheeky.
- 10:52Speaker 5: I think it's all like it's interesting, isn't it. Like
- 10:54Speaker 5: it's easy to say this competition doesn't mean anything. You're
- 10:57Speaker 5: going to play at a position. The real test is
- 10:59Speaker 5: actually when you might lose or you have to actually
- 11:01Speaker 5: live with the consequences of that relaxed attitude. And I
- 11:05Speaker 5: think you did the right thing. You know, let that
- 11:07Speaker 5: coach do a due and like there's as you know,
- 11:11Speaker 5: like the last thing you want to do to a
- 11:13Speaker 5: kid who's in high school who's volunteered to coach is
- 11:16Speaker 5: to have her thinking that the parents are second guessing.
- 11:18Speaker 5: So you did the right thing, right, you just sit
- 11:20Speaker 5: there and you let it go. It's her choice. The
- 11:22Speaker 5: kids don't care to a degree, like as long as
- 11:24Speaker 5: they all play, they.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Don't And that was the thing. They didn't care.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Exactly right, So if they don't care and the coach
- 11:31Speaker 5: is just doing what she wants to do, then when
- 11:33Speaker 5: you're a parent, you just have to sometimes if But
- 11:35Speaker 5: I will say it's interesting this year my husband was
- 11:37Speaker 5: coaching my son's under eights rugby team, and like they
- 11:42Speaker 5: had fifteen kids and zon' supposed to be eight on
- 11:44Speaker 5: the field at any one time, and a few times
- 11:46Speaker 5: they'd turn up and the opposition didn't have enough to
- 11:49Speaker 5: get eight players on the field, and so Matthew gave
- 11:53Speaker 5: the kids the option of saying, well, a couple of
- 11:56Speaker 5: you guys can play for them, which means that we
- 11:58Speaker 5: can have all laid on the field rather than going
- 11:59Speaker 5: sit some six or seven and seven, and that way
- 12:02Speaker 5: everyone gets more game time. And the kids on our
- 12:04Speaker 5: team are like, nah, we're not playing against each other.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Oh really, you think they would jump at it?
- 12:09Speaker 1: No.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I thought it was fascinating so eight year old boys,
- 12:11Speaker 5: I just want to run around.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely not.
- 12:14Speaker 5: They were just like, nah, we're not We're down to
- 12:16Speaker 5: play against each other.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Oh that's interesting.
- 12:18Speaker 2: As I said, I arrived late, so I don't know
- 12:20Speaker 2: what the decision making process was before. The parents of
- 12:23Speaker 2: the other team were cheering every goal like it was
- 12:25Speaker 2: a Grand Final, though, and I sort of thought, actually,
- 12:28Speaker 2: maybe you could dial that down a bit, because anyway,
- 12:32Speaker 2: it's not everybody's chill part of the year is no,
- 12:35Speaker 2: And I think this team has had a tough time
- 12:37Speaker 2: in the mist I don't think they're a team that
- 12:40Speaker 2: has had an enormous number of wins and things, so yep,
- 12:42Speaker 2: let's celebrate it. But I just thought it was a
- 12:44Speaker 2: really interesting one. I wasn't sure what the right answer was,
- 12:47Speaker 2: but I guess the right answer is the girls are happy.
- 12:50Speaker 4: We rocked up to Twilight netball last week and I
- 12:53Speaker 4: saw on the draw that we were playing a team
- 12:55Speaker 4: called the Future Giants, and I thought, oh, yeah, interesting
- 12:59Speaker 4: because I guess in South Wales you just assume more
- 13:01Speaker 4: people would go for the Swifts or whatever, and they'd
- 13:03Speaker 4: call themselves Swifts, and I thought this is really interesting,
- 13:05Speaker 4: like I wonder why they followed the Giants blah blah blah.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Anyway, we get down to the.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Court and I see the coach of this particular side
- 13:13Speaker 4: and it's a guy called Tim Underwood, who is the
- 13:16Speaker 4: EGM of the Giant.
- 13:19Speaker 3: So I walked over to him and I said, ahha,
- 13:21Speaker 3: the team name makes perfect sense to me now.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Recruitment strategy also in that game though, so we were
- 13:27Speaker 4: winning by about five in the first quarter, I think,
- 13:31Speaker 4: and I heard my goal shooter saying to her goalkeeper,
- 13:35Speaker 4: we just got another one. Now it's four to one,
- 13:38Speaker 4: or now it's five to two or so. She was
- 13:40Speaker 4: really in a face about the score. And I went
- 13:43Speaker 4: over to her and said, what did you just say then,
- 13:45Speaker 4: and she told me. I said, yeah, we're good winners
- 13:47Speaker 4: and we're good losers. We don't want to hear that
- 13:50Speaker 4: sort of stuff again. We do not rub that sort
- 13:52Speaker 4: of stuff into people's faces and we just move on.
- 13:55Speaker 3: It's good that you've got a score. But yeah, I thought, oh,
- 13:59Speaker 3: I reckon.
- 13:59Speaker 2: That's amongst the most important stuff for them to learn
- 14:01Speaker 2: at that age, because it is like the I think
- 14:05Speaker 2: that is the age where you're most likely to hear that.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I think it might get thought at other ages, but
- 14:09Speaker 2: they're smart enough to know not to not to say
- 14:11Speaker 2: it out loud, but that can just spoil a game
- 14:14Speaker 2: so fast when you feel that type of just bitchiness.
- 14:18Speaker 2: And so they're little, so they don't really understand. It's
- 14:20Speaker 2: like I'm celebrating a win. Yeah, yeah, yeah, good winners, good,
- 14:25Speaker 2: well done, coach.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyway, we lost to Tim, damn it.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And you didn't and you had to play because when
- 14:33Speaker 2: I left you on Monday, there was a bit of
- 14:35Speaker 2: rain and new fingers and toes crossed. Yeah, and then
- 14:38Speaker 2: the sun came out and we're the first time slot
- 14:41Speaker 2: at four point thirty, so we have to put the
- 14:42Speaker 2: postpads up. Yeah, of course my kids are in the
- 14:45Speaker 2: park playing, so I put the post pads up. So
- 14:47Speaker 2: if anyone wants to nominate me for a win, beneath
- 14:50Speaker 2: my wings.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Open to it, I'd.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Rather put them up than put them away, though, Yes,
- 14:57Speaker 2: everyone disappears real fast and pack anyway, So you flew
- 15:05Speaker 2: into state, I did in the way I kend.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse,
- 15:10Speaker 4: I had a new plane.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Low excellent. Yeah no, well maybe you should set up
- 15:14Speaker 2: an Instagram account for this.
- 15:15Speaker 4: It wasn't excellent, But I think I should start to
- 15:17Speaker 4: diaise them because there's a book of something in there.
- 15:20Speaker 4: So I had gone on because now on quantits, I
- 15:23Speaker 4: don't know if it's the same with every airline. You're
- 15:24Speaker 4: in a boarding category yep, and so I've.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Been doing that in the US for years.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's a free for all once you get
- 15:32Speaker 3: on the plane, though, isn't it.
- 15:33Speaker 2: No, this is this is with seats.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, all right, so Ryanair.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Out of Ireland has a has the boarding categories and
- 15:41Speaker 2: then the.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Free for all. That's just unruly.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Remember that when they used to have like the lamant
- 15:46Speaker 2: stat though, and people running across the tar bag to
- 15:48Speaker 2: get seats, and like you, because most.
- 15:52Speaker 4: People would want an aisle, so do they all then
- 15:54Speaker 4: rush to get on first, But then they've just got
- 15:56Speaker 4: to constantly get up and move when people have to
- 15:58Speaker 4: shuffle that.
- 15:58Speaker 5: I maybe I know I did it once ife Ryan
- 16:02Speaker 5: Air with Allison Broadband and Jane Olshwagen Agrease after a
- 16:05Speaker 5: tour when Catherine's coach made her go home and keep
- 16:08Speaker 5: training for pre season.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I still don't talk about it.
- 16:13Speaker 5: Whereas we went to Oh god, what's the name it?
- 16:20Speaker 2: It's clearer in Catherine's mind than in yours.
- 16:24Speaker 5: It is, it is, And yeah, we're talking about dancing
- 16:27Speaker 5: on the bar. Actually on Saturday night we're talking about
- 16:29Speaker 5: the time we went to Sanerini and Jane Olschwagen was
- 16:31Speaker 5: dancing on the bar and we're like it was a
- 16:33Speaker 5: really high roof because she's six ft one hundred.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Anyway, that's the whole She was also on the donkey
- 16:37Speaker 4: going up the hill with the feet dragon on the ground.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Wasn't she.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Yes, she was, but yeah, well you did the whole
- 16:44Speaker 5: sprint across and we didn't go for that, Like the
- 16:46Speaker 5: three of us weren't looking for the aisle seats. But
- 16:48Speaker 5: it was an absolute debarkle that whole process of getting
- 16:52Speaker 5: on the plane and fighting for your seats and trying
- 16:54Speaker 5: to find three seats next to each other. And yeah,
- 16:57Speaker 5: it wasn't great anyhow, Catherine.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Anyway, you keep going back to mine, see that a
- 17:00Speaker 2: terrible time.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it was awful us.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Sure you should be glad you weren't there.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Dodged a bullet?
- 17:06Speaker 1: Did I?
- 17:07Speaker 3: Right away?
- 17:08Speaker 4: So with the whole boarding, because I'm a gold member,
- 17:12Speaker 4: just lost my platinum. Don't even talk to me about
- 17:14Speaker 4: that either.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Very fragile at the BOT.
- 17:17Speaker 4: But I always get on first, like I'm one of
- 17:18Speaker 4: those nuffies that's lining out getting on first because I've
- 17:21Speaker 4: got carry on, and I hate when you get on
- 17:22Speaker 4: at the end there's nowhere to put your stink and
- 17:24Speaker 4: carry on and you end up having to put it,
- 17:26Speaker 4: you know, way to other.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Back around the front, doow w and need you anyway?
- 17:29Speaker 4: So I get on, but I always request an aisle
- 17:31Speaker 4: seat as well, So I'm one of those people that
- 17:33Speaker 4: ultimately has to get up to let people on. So
- 17:35Speaker 4: this man comes over and he's obviously in our aisle
- 17:39Speaker 4: and goes to put his bag up the top deliberately
- 17:44Speaker 4: because I reckon, you would know put his penis on
- 17:49Speaker 4: my shoulder?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Ew did he have pants on?
- 17:53Speaker 3: I would yes, he did have pants on.
- 17:55Speaker 2: That's an excellent first question. Let's get clarity it was
- 18:00Speaker 2: so like, you know, right, I know.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Where you're putting it.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I've never had a penis, but I would assume that
- 18:07Speaker 2: you know pretty much where it is at all times.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's generally in the same place.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Yes, So he's putting his bag up, and very obviously
- 18:18Speaker 4: just like, well, this is where I'm standing, so this
- 18:21Speaker 4: lady can have it on a shoulder. And so I'm
- 18:23Speaker 4: not even paying attention. I was doing something else and
- 18:25Speaker 4: then looked and realized and thought I was going to
- 18:28Speaker 4: form it. And then he said, oh, I'm sitting over there,
- 18:30Speaker 4: but I'm happy to sit on the aisle if you want.
- 18:32Speaker 4: I just looked at him and gave him the death
- 18:33Speaker 4: stare from her and said, not a chance.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I know.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I just crossed over to crazy Cat.
- 18:39Speaker 4: That's the alter ego on the plane that's coming out
- 18:41Speaker 4: more and more these days. But yeah, I felt like
- 18:44Speaker 4: I needed to sanitize all sorts of parts.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Ew.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Yeah, has that ever happened to you.
- 18:50Speaker 2: All the time? If I had a dollar for every
- 18:53Speaker 2: time someone put their penis on my shoulder, damn it,
- 19:00Speaker 2: I walked.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Straight into that swinging or And it doesn't happen when.
- 19:07Speaker 5: You're over six foot. So often but I don't know,
- 19:11Speaker 5: like that's a bit creepy.
- 19:12Speaker 3: It was very creepy.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Very I've got the stuff you have to put up
- 19:16Speaker 5: with when you're sitting on a flight.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Look, our audience are highly evolved men, I'm sure. But
- 19:23Speaker 2: just for clarity, guys, we don't like that. That's not good.
- 19:27Speaker 2: So don't don't do that, no matter what the new
- 19:31Speaker 2: government of the United States starts saying next year, that's
- 19:34Speaker 2: bad or it starts doing yeah. Man, yeah, but.
- 19:38Speaker 5: It's always that moment of awkwardness on a plane, isn't it.
- 19:40Speaker 5: When you're trying to get up and down the aisle
- 19:42Speaker 5: to and from the toilets, and you've got to sort
- 19:43Speaker 5: of brush past people, and you've got to put your
- 19:47Speaker 5: body in like the person who's sitting down, you got
- 19:50Speaker 5: to It's well, nothing about this is good. It's just
- 19:52Speaker 5: made for awkwardness. Too many people in too small a place.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Anyway, I think that was the highlight. Well
- 19:58Speaker 4: it's not the highlight, but it is the worst of
- 20:01Speaker 4: my plane trips this year.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Well, the year's not over.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I don't say that. Let's just hope that's where it's
- 20:07Speaker 3: going to cap.
- 20:07Speaker 2: You've got more flights to take, so I like you
- 20:11Speaker 2: might have to give us an update on Facebook if
- 20:13Speaker 2: there is something else that happens after we get off
- 20:15Speaker 2: that live mark here. Okay, we've been getting a bit
- 20:18Speaker 2: of Facebook spam actually, and I just want to address that.
- 20:21Speaker 2: So thank you to everyone who's reporting these spam posts.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Report them, I delete them, and I ban the person
- 20:27Speaker 2: and their future accounts. So, but let me tell you
- 20:29Speaker 2: a lot of them. Are these really sensational headlines about
- 20:33Speaker 2: No Dribble podcast sign multimillion dollar deal?
- 20:37Speaker 6: If that happens, you're bloody about it.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Any news about the podcast will come from the account
- 20:44Speaker 2: of one of us, so that we're not going to
- 20:46Speaker 2: have just some rando putting up news up there. There
- 20:49Speaker 2: was one the other day that mentioned that you had
- 20:52Speaker 2: died in tragic circumstances cap Yes, so can you?
- 20:56Speaker 3: Was it because I got slapped by a penis on
- 20:58Speaker 3: the shoulder?
- 21:01Speaker 1: She died of pis shuder. Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 2: But anything you see on the Facebook page that is
- 21:07Speaker 2: looks particularly alarming or even wildly interesting, it's probably a
- 21:13Speaker 2: spam link, and we're trying to do our best to
- 21:15Speaker 2: stay on top of it. But do please keep reporting
- 21:17Speaker 2: these posts and don't click on any links that look
- 21:22Speaker 2: like it might be something wild. I know, it's terrible,
- 21:26Speaker 2: bloody Internet. Remember it used to be fantastic when when
- 21:31Speaker 2: it was just cat videos, cat videos, good times. Remember
- 21:35Speaker 2: how with the potential that the internet had. Anyway, have
- 21:38Speaker 2: you looked at.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Your algorithms recently? Like when you open your phone out
- 21:41Speaker 4: what comes up?
- 21:43Speaker 2: So I get a lot of CrossFit stuff now, also
- 21:47Speaker 2: getting a lot of things for mature ladies in their necks,
- 21:50Speaker 2: their next and face creams.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And the like.
- 21:53Speaker 3: You schoogling the little what I don't know.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I don't know where it came from, but somehow they
- 21:58Speaker 2: know the year of my birth though I've never put
- 22:00Speaker 2: that on on Facebook or Instagram either, but it's just yeah, So.
- 22:04Speaker 3: I'm getting lots of pimple popping.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I love that.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I do too, and I've obviously clicked on one and
- 22:09Speaker 4: now I'm in dand so it's a good thing.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Summer series is coming up. I'm very busy these days.
- 22:17Speaker 1: What popping pimples?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Watching someone else do it? Now?
- 22:20Speaker 1: I reckon those.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Videos are a law of diminishing returns, So aren't they?
- 22:23Speaker 5: Like you know, the first time you watch it, you're like, oh,
- 22:25Speaker 5: that's so satisfying and then not after the twentieth video,
- 22:28Speaker 5: You're like, I've seen it all before. There is so
- 22:30Speaker 5: many ways you can watch a pimple pop That's true.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I don't know. I feel like I'm endlessly entertained by
- 22:38Speaker 2: the relief. Yeah yeah, yeah, And I really want to
- 22:41Speaker 2: know how did you let it get that way? How
- 22:44Speaker 2: are you not? Because if something comes on my face,
- 22:46Speaker 2: I'm picking it, like, yeah, I'm on TV the next day.
- 22:49Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. I've got to pick this thing on
- 22:50Speaker 2: my face and then make up.
- 22:51Speaker 3: We'll deal with them. But so, have you watched Doctor
- 22:53Speaker 3: Pimple popp Up?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 22:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't like the TV show as much because
- 22:57Speaker 2: they blur out the really good bit. So on Doctor
- 22:59Speaker 2: Popera on YouTube is much better. Oh yeah, some of
- 23:03Speaker 2: those a huge discussion.
- 23:05Speaker 5: You know, at what point do they go be under
- 23:08Speaker 5: pimple and into like a tumor?
- 23:11Speaker 2: It's not a toolbo Two exciting things this week. We
- 23:14Speaker 2: have merch dropping this week, yeah, and we'll talk about
- 23:19Speaker 2: that shortly, but also the Suncorp to Super Netball drawer
- 23:23Speaker 2: for twenty twenty five, which one to talk about.
- 23:26Speaker 3: First, do we get the merch? Do we get the merch.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Do I have to pay for it?
- 23:32Speaker 1: Well?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Someone should?
- 23:33Speaker 3: It would be better, right God, surely the some perks.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Well okay, so what we've got is we've got no
- 23:39Speaker 2: dribble t shirts with netballers. Do it without dribbling, and
- 23:41Speaker 2: we have a cap for netball dads.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Do we tell them what it is yet?
- 23:46Speaker 2: No, let's just say wait till it goes online. And
- 23:48Speaker 2: we have a fantastic kitchen item. So excellent Christmas presents
- 23:53Speaker 2: all round. It's a very small ordering window though, the
- 23:57Speaker 2: thirteenth to the twentieth of November. Midnight on the twentieth
- 24:00Speaker 2: of November, the ordering will close off. There's a website.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I don't know what it is. We'll put it in
- 24:05Speaker 2: the shop sights.
- 24:06Speaker 3: The whole family's Christmas presents though pretty much.
- 24:08Speaker 4: You buy Grandma or whoever, a tea, towel you've got Dad,
- 24:12Speaker 4: the heart, you bet yourself, a T shirt, nice tea.
- 24:14Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Everyone will be delivered before Christmas.
- 24:17Speaker 3: So this is Christmas Eve by Sandy.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Nice Sandy, you're such a Queensland.
- 24:23Speaker 3: I'm putting the tree up this week. I'm so jack
- 24:25Speaker 3: of it.
- 24:25Speaker 4: There's too much stuff around now for me not to
- 24:27Speaker 4: be able to put mine up.
- 24:30Speaker 3: With that, it's no look if it's in the shops.
- 24:34Speaker 4: I bought Christmas kate the other day and I've been
- 24:36Speaker 4: eating it and I'm putting my tree up this week.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Have you bought presents yet? Yes? You have you finished
- 24:44Speaker 1: your Christmas shopping?
- 24:45Speaker 2: No, because I'm merch hasn't dropped yet, So how could
- 24:49Speaker 2: she possibly have? Yeah, I don't know. I feel quite
- 24:52Speaker 2: strongly that the tree doesn't go up until December. However,
- 24:55Speaker 2: I will also eat hot Cross buns the moment they
- 24:59Speaker 2: hit the shops, and I will not stop eating them
- 25:01Speaker 2: until after Easter. So I don't think that I'm necessarily
- 25:04Speaker 2: able to throw stones in this incident.
- 25:06Speaker 3: And they're out in January.
- 25:07Speaker 2: By the way, I know.
- 25:08Speaker 3: That's so good.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I love it.
- 25:10Speaker 3: It said lunchboxes. It's just something to stick in the
- 25:13Speaker 3: lunch box.
- 25:13Speaker 2: It hasn't occurred to me.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I keep them all.
- 25:16Speaker 2: And it's all about the butter. So it lives. Christmas tree.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Talk to me about this.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I'm a late Christmas tree.
- 25:22Speaker 5: We go for a real tree, and if you go
- 25:25Speaker 5: too early they die before Christmas.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Well that makes sense, So how.
- 25:29Speaker 1: We're like the week before ten days.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Before I'll put your presence before then.
- 25:37Speaker 6: In the shelf, the shelf for the shops behind her,
- 25:44Speaker 6: on the desk where all the aesos returns sit for months,
- 25:47Speaker 6: she can hide the presence under that no one will
- 25:49Speaker 6: ever find them.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Do you know what?
- 25:51Speaker 5: I hide my kids presence in really obvious places and
- 25:54Speaker 5: they never see them because they're in obvious places, right, So,
- 25:58Speaker 5: and I know that Evelyn goes looking like in all
- 26:01Speaker 5: the Heidi holes, So I don't hide them in the heart,
- 26:04Speaker 5: just put them on shelves and stuff, and she never
- 26:05Speaker 5: finds them. They're not very smart, my kids.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Do you have a big.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Are they going to be listening to this? Have you
- 26:12Speaker 2: just done yourself in the eye?
- 26:14Speaker 5: Probably?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Don't listen to this, kids, it's bad.
- 26:17Speaker 2: But we're talking about another revelin another.
- 26:21Speaker 1: And another Liz.
- 26:22Speaker 2: We put our Christmas tree up usually around about the
- 26:24Speaker 2: first Sunday in December usually, and it's one of my
- 26:26Speaker 2: favorite nights of the year. So I have all four
- 26:29Speaker 2: kids there, although one is in London at the moment,
- 26:31Speaker 2: so we won't this year, but she'll come back at
- 26:33Speaker 2: some stage and we'll let her back into the family.
- 26:35Speaker 2: But yeah, it's just we do it together. It's just
- 26:38Speaker 2: a really nice, joyful occasion.
- 26:41Speaker 3: I love it. What do you do do you have
- 26:43Speaker 3: like tunes on?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Christmas the tunes on? We have some champagne and
- 26:47Speaker 2: then we always order ribs and it's the one night
- 26:50Speaker 2: of the year that we'll order ribs and it's really good.
- 26:54Speaker 2: It's a very wholesome thing, I'll tell you what. Though,
- 26:56Speaker 2: no bastards around when it's time to take the Christmas
- 26:58Speaker 2: treck down. It's just tumble pressing.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I hate it, Yeah, I hate it.
- 27:03Speaker 5: I hate it when like only we do only put
- 27:06Speaker 5: our Christmas trap late, but then all the presents go
- 27:08Speaker 5: under it and for ten days there's this whole level
- 27:11Speaker 5: of excitement, and then there's always two or like two
- 27:15Speaker 5: little presents that sit there really sad and lonely the
- 27:17Speaker 5: day after because the people who are therefore you haven't
- 27:19Speaker 5: caught them yet. And then you get rid of those,
- 27:21Speaker 5: and then the tree sits there and it's always like
- 27:24Speaker 5: it's such a depressing.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Moment calling it down.
- 27:26Speaker 5: You're like, oh, all that planning, it's all over.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Well.
- 27:28Speaker 3: The good thing with a real tree, though, is it
- 27:30Speaker 3: you just chuck it.
- 27:31Speaker 2: In the bush?
- 27:32Speaker 1: What do you do with it?
- 27:33Speaker 5: He just put in a paddic and it breaks down
- 27:36Speaker 5: and becomes a home for mitchels.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Apart and take it back to storage.
- 27:41Speaker 5: And this is true, and I do, but I do think, Catherine,
- 27:45Speaker 5: I've said this year before, I reckon, there's a business
- 27:47Speaker 5: for you in actually charging people in your neighborhood an
- 27:51Speaker 5: absolute poultice to put their tree up, because you do
- 27:53Speaker 5: do a great job with your Christmas tree. I get
- 27:55Speaker 5: to your house at Christmas and I get Christmas tree.
- 27:58Speaker 5: I don't know that it's envy. It's more that I
- 28:00Speaker 5: feel really not good enough because your Christmas tree is amazing.
- 28:04Speaker 5: So you should like have a business where you actually
- 28:06Speaker 5: put people's Christmas trees up and then you come back
- 28:08Speaker 5: after Christmas and pull them down and put them away,
- 28:10Speaker 5: and then you make lots of money and you only
- 28:12Speaker 5: work four weeks a year.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, my ICD does kick in around see Mamma men hanging.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Now it feels like a real podcast. Now we're talking
- 28:19Speaker 2: about Liza's shame about her Christmas tree.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Cors does look great when you get there.
- 28:24Speaker 4: But the first time I had to put mine up
- 28:26Speaker 4: with Harper, I had a dead set tick at the
- 28:29Speaker 4: end of it because she was just putting ornaments anywhere,
- 28:32Speaker 4: like they weren't spaced out. There was two that were
- 28:34Speaker 4: similar in the same spot, and I was not coping.
- 28:38Speaker 3: So she's a.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Little bit better now, and then I'll just turn the
- 28:40Speaker 4: tree around anyway and put my good stuff at the
- 28:42Speaker 4: front of her crap.
- 28:43Speaker 5: At the bat.
- 28:43Speaker 2: When my son was little, when he was about to
- 28:45Speaker 2: we had to put a fence around the Christmas tree
- 28:47Speaker 2: because he just he wouldn't leave it alone. He was
- 28:50Speaker 2: just at it all the time. So we had to
- 28:51Speaker 2: build this little fence that went around the tree.
- 28:54Speaker 4: So one of my girlfriends actually with two boys, designed
- 28:58Speaker 4: one that is literally naked at the bottom and the
- 29:01Speaker 4: tree starts at the time, there's nothing to grab.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I was like, what about this the whole polem all
- 29:06Speaker 3: it over? But no, that's a good idea, isn't it.
- 29:09Speaker 2: He was just obsessed with it, and we had to
- 29:11Speaker 2: build this little tiny pic at fence home.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Oh so funny.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I am putting the tree up earlier this year though,
- 29:16Speaker 2: because we're filming a film clip because I'm putting out
- 29:18Speaker 2: a Christmas single with some musos, So I know, ridiculous, but.
- 29:22Speaker 3: So you're not singing or you are singing, so.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I've written it, I have a speaking role, and we
- 29:29Speaker 2: have an amazing singer named Alice Terry. So we're trying
- 29:32Speaker 2: to take Mariah down. I'm done with it. I'm done
- 29:35Speaker 2: with hearing that all the time.
- 29:36Speaker 1: So where do we.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Get this and when do we get it?
- 29:38Speaker 2: Well, it will drop's music industry beers if you mean,
- 29:43Speaker 2: let me know if you've got any questions on the
- 29:45Speaker 2: first of December. We do it for love. It's so
- 29:48Speaker 2: much fun.
- 29:48Speaker 3: No, So where do we get it?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Spotify, Spotify, all of the other Spotify equivalents?
- 29:54Speaker 1: What's it all?
- 29:55Speaker 3: One more time? Everyone? Just get a pen, everyone, run,
- 29:57Speaker 3: get a pen. Come back. I know you can just
- 29:59Speaker 3: record this, wind it and go back. But what is
- 30:01Speaker 3: it called?
- 30:01Speaker 2: We do it for love? We do it for love
- 30:04Speaker 2: it and it's about how everybody has a perfect vision
- 30:08Speaker 2: for Christmas. And this is absolutely this conversation. But who
- 30:10Speaker 2: does all the work?
- 30:12Speaker 3: The mothers.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It's like this is that there's so much work to
- 30:15Speaker 2: make everybody's Christmas perfect and wonderful, and we all love
- 30:19Speaker 2: it and we do it every year, but it is
- 30:22Speaker 2: so much work and most of that falls to the mothers.
- 30:24Speaker 2: So this is about about that. Go to sister this anyway,
- 30:29Speaker 2: let's talk to you, super.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Did you contemplate singing at any point?
- 30:33Speaker 2: We have a proper vocalist, Like I can carry a tune,
- 30:37Speaker 2: but this Alice Terry is a proper She's got piped.
- 30:41Speaker 2: So it's like, no, I shouldn't be singing this, but
- 30:43Speaker 2: I have some lines in it more spoken. So I'm
- 30:47Speaker 2: like the William Shatner of this, of this single, now,
- 30:53Speaker 2: the guy from Starting.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Where Now.
- 30:56Speaker 5: I was actually just doing all the calculations in my
- 30:58Speaker 5: head because you know how Spotify pays artists a massive
- 31:01Speaker 5: amount of money per play. Oh, absolutely all the dribblers listen,
- 31:05Speaker 5: you sound to make about two dollars twenty out of this.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Thank you. It's going to be exciting. And that is
- 31:10Speaker 2: more than I've made an entire six months of the
- 31:13Speaker 2: Not Dribble podcast. So I feel like I'm my earning
- 31:16Speaker 2: is on a trajectory that like, within several years, I
- 31:20Speaker 2: might have enough money to cover these lunches that we
- 31:24Speaker 2: have sometimes.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Yeah, so as far as the merch goes, people, it's
- 31:27Speaker 4: not just for your Christmas presents, but it's for us
- 31:29Speaker 4: to put food on the table.
- 31:30Speaker 7: So if you don't mind for our children, do it
- 31:33Speaker 7: for the children, all right?
- 31:41Speaker 2: Netball Netball, Netball, Netball, Sun Corp Super Netball twenty twenty
- 31:45Speaker 2: five fixture cat.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Talk through it.
- 31:49Speaker 3: I'm excited.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I'm the round one game one, Yeah, grand final exciting?
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, God, how good is that?
- 31:56Speaker 4: But I also can't wait till the last game of
- 31:58Speaker 4: round one because it is in the West Coast, it's
- 32:01Speaker 4: in Perth, and it's against the Swifts. The first time
- 32:03Speaker 4: we're going to see Grace and a wiki here. Yes,
- 32:05Speaker 4: and then if we had to highlight a round for me,
- 32:08Speaker 4: I'm going straight to Round three Swifts and the Tea
- 32:10Speaker 4: Birds in Awiki versus Sterling.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Oh, it'd be great, won't so good? So Grace is
- 32:17Speaker 2: in country now. She started training with the Swifts, hasn't she.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 4: I don't know if she's here for good, but she's
- 32:21Speaker 4: made a cameo, she's done all the promos, socials and
- 32:25Speaker 4: all that sort of stuff, and it's got everybody's whistles
- 32:28Speaker 4: wet and that's very, very exciting.
- 32:31Speaker 2: So Round three is actually a split Round two because
- 32:33Speaker 2: there's Easter in there. So there's the two games on
- 32:36Speaker 2: the Sunday, the twentieth of April, and then the next
- 32:38Speaker 2: two games get played on the following weekend, the twenty
- 32:40Speaker 2: sixth and the twenty seventh of April, so that's good too, it'd.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Be very good.
- 32:45Speaker 4: I can't wait to see Cholock too, so we'll see
- 32:47Speaker 4: her for the first time in the Firebirds Giants game
- 32:49Speaker 4: Round one. So many international superstars.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it is very exciting. I haven't yet worked out
- 32:57Speaker 2: which game I'm going to go into State four, So
- 33:00Speaker 2: I guess I need your work schedule because I need
- 33:02Speaker 2: to go where you are and you watch a game
- 33:05Speaker 2: that is not a Swifts game, because I remember that
- 33:08Speaker 2: was my netball New Year's resolution to watch more games
- 33:12Speaker 2: live that I don't have a team in that I'm
- 33:15Speaker 2: just watching because it's really good netball.
- 33:18Speaker 4: I'm going to put this out there, Liz. I think
- 33:20Speaker 4: if she does do that, she has to wear the
- 33:21Speaker 4: Propeller hat.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I don't have to wear the Propeller hat. Ever, again,
- 33:25Speaker 2: I think you do.
- 33:26Speaker 3: You've got to set the tone.
- 33:27Speaker 5: I don't know, no, I think the tradition is that
- 33:29Speaker 5: we just give her something shameful to it.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Oh Propeller. We've got on feel about chats.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Wear pants underneath them. That seems like it might be
- 33:42Speaker 2: a bit hot. I've got to say not without pants underneath. Okay,
- 33:46Speaker 2: all right, that's little breeze. So fourteen rounds of sun
- 33:49Speaker 2: Corps super netbul split over fifteen weeks. Then we have finals.
- 33:52Speaker 2: That's exciting. So the first Nations round is in round seven,
- 33:57Speaker 2: which is or there's two weeks of first Nation Rounds
- 34:00Speaker 2: seven and round thirteen, so those are always a highlight obviously,
- 34:04Speaker 2: so I'm getting very excited.
- 34:08Speaker 5: It's so good to finish like the calendar, knowing what
- 34:11Speaker 5: we're doing next year.
- 34:13Speaker 3: No, it isn't.
- 34:15Speaker 2: And I'm cross referencing this against the warreta schedule because
- 34:19Speaker 2: that's important in our household, although not to me, but anyway,
- 34:23Speaker 2: when you're in a partnership, you're supportive of one another's endeavors,
- 34:26Speaker 2: aren't you so? But anyway are That's.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Why I'm staying single anyway, So you don't have to.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Go to the wark don all right, Kath, Yes, we've
- 34:38Speaker 2: got to do win beneath that wings. I have to
- 34:39Speaker 2: tell you girls something though. I got an amazing message
- 34:41Speaker 2: during the week. You will love this. So this is
- 34:44Speaker 2: from a good friend of the podcast, Jane. Hi, Carolyn,
- 34:47Speaker 2: sorry to stalk you on socials. That's all right. I
- 34:48Speaker 2: think it's terrific. Jane, thank you very much. Posted a
- 34:51Speaker 2: comment about gay Teed last week and have and now
- 34:54Speaker 2: I have her in it tis. She really wanted to
- 34:56Speaker 2: try and message the pod, and I even went to
- 34:58Speaker 2: her house to help her with her Facebook. They only
- 35:00Speaker 2: have an account in her husband, Trevor's name, but I'm
- 35:02Speaker 2: yet to see her post appear. Now we're getting to
- 35:05Speaker 2: the guts of it. This is really interesting. She really
- 35:07Speaker 2: wanted to get a message to kath and Liz as
- 35:09Speaker 2: she got such a giggle out of the fact that
- 35:10Speaker 2: they have rooms for all their old netballs, and Liz
- 35:13Speaker 2: had mentioned in Gay's day they had to give them
- 35:15Speaker 2: back for the next team to use. She wanted the
- 35:17Speaker 2: girls to know that not only did they have to
- 35:19Speaker 2: give them back, but they had to pay twenty dollars
- 35:21Speaker 2: to hire them for the time that I no, oh my.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Back in the day.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Been a fortune A substantial amount of money, isn't it.
- 35:36Speaker 2: How yay women's sport? Like my god, incredible?
- 35:40Speaker 4: Well funny that that's come from Gayteed Liz, because we
- 35:43Speaker 4: were talking just minutes ago about me missing the trip
- 35:45Speaker 4: to Santorini because my coach made me come back.
- 35:48Speaker 3: It was gay teed.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Hi gay ye get over it eventually.
- 35:56Speaker 2: That was a great message I got during the week.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Do you have anything you know? Our social media manager?
- 36:02Speaker 3: I have a wind beneath our wings? All right, what
- 36:03Speaker 3: I'm doing?
- 36:04Speaker 1: Yes?
- 36:04Speaker 2: Please?
- 36:05Speaker 1: Okay, hang on before we get to that.
- 36:06Speaker 5: Can I just you did forward something from Nicole Bervill
- 36:10Speaker 5: who I met her in the toilets at the Southwest
- 36:14Speaker 5: Dairy Ladies luncheon in Warnabull but a few months ago,
- 36:17Speaker 5: which was of fun. I had a road trip to
- 36:19Speaker 5: Warnable and that was fantastic. Look Nicks just asked me
- 36:24Speaker 5: if I would be interested in coaching the tim Boone
- 36:27Speaker 5: Devil's Demon sorry a grade netball coach in twenty twenty
- 36:30Speaker 5: five and look as tempting as that is, and tim
- 36:33Speaker 5: Boone actually has one of the nicest ice creamries in Australia,
- 36:36Speaker 5: because we did check. It's a real you know, it's
- 36:39Speaker 5: a bit of a battle between the gelato shop at
- 36:41Speaker 5: Lenox Head near my house and the tim Boone ice creamery.
- 36:44Speaker 5: And as tempting as that is, and as tempting as
- 36:47Speaker 5: is to say I'll travel every week to tim Boon
- 36:50Speaker 5: to be paid in ice cream, Nick, thank you so
- 36:53Speaker 5: much for the offer, but I'm going to politely decline.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Oh tempting. Yeah, so but are you open?
- 36:59Speaker 2: Would you like all of the dribblers from around Australia
- 37:01Speaker 2: and internationally to be offering you coaching unpaid coaching positions.
- 37:05Speaker 1: No, I've got one here, Okay, I'm very very polite.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Oh I see.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:09Speaker 4: When I saw that message, I was about to write
- 37:12Speaker 4: back and say I'm not even going to pass this
- 37:13Speaker 4: on because I.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Know the answer. But you were very polite.
- 37:18Speaker 1: So that is polite. List later the ladies.
- 37:20Speaker 5: Yeah, look, the ladies from warneraball were great. I had
- 37:22Speaker 5: a really nice day.
- 37:23Speaker 3: So you get a cost it in the toilets a lot,
- 37:25Speaker 3: don't you.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Maybe I spend too much time in the toilet Yeah,
- 37:30Speaker 5: where I make friends.
- 37:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 37:35Speaker 2: This will be our last win beneath our Wings of
- 37:37Speaker 2: twenty twenty four, so yeah, because over the summer season
- 37:40Speaker 2: we're not doing wind beneath our Wings. We will we
- 37:42Speaker 2: will be back in the new year four wind beneath
- 37:44Speaker 2: our Wings. So these are this is the last of
- 37:47Speaker 2: the og win beneath our wingers. The twenty twenty four
- 37:52Speaker 2: class of twenty twenty four win beneath our wings, and
- 37:55Speaker 2: I'm really hoping it's not an overseas one because I'm
- 37:58Speaker 2: not scheduled to go to the post office again for
- 38:00Speaker 2: a few weeks. But Kath when beneath our wings very
- 38:03Speaker 2: important where we acknowledge those people keeping our game alive
- 38:06Speaker 2: at the community level. I believe you have a nomination
- 38:09Speaker 2: for us.
- 38:09Speaker 4: I have one from soap and it is for her
- 38:12Speaker 4: mum actually, and her mum's name is Kirsten and she
- 38:15Speaker 4: says her mum lives and breathes netball so much so
- 38:19Speaker 4: that she's just flown out for christ Church and the
- 38:22Speaker 4: Fast five Nice. She swears all that she does is netball.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Mum is the chair of the Sunshine Coast Thunder, a
- 38:29Speaker 4: feeder team for the Lightning, has been the president of
- 38:32Speaker 4: Sunshine Coast Netball Association, a school netbook coordinator, a netseet
- 38:36Speaker 4: go helping hand, a supportive netball mum through her knee surgeries,
- 38:40Speaker 4: and most importantly a coach to both her sister and herself,
- 38:44Speaker 4: all whilst juggling a full time job. Mum dedicates so
- 38:47Speaker 4: much time to netball, and without her efforts behind the scenes,
- 38:51Speaker 4: some of the clubs we know today may not exist.
- 38:54Speaker 4: She inspires me so much, putting in so much hard
- 38:57Speaker 4: work to grow grass roots netball, and I just think
- 39:00Speaker 4: that's so worthy of a wind beneath our wing. So
- 39:03Speaker 4: there is a scrunchy coming to you, Kirsten, So a
- 39:07Speaker 4: printhy wine voucher to you, but keeping it in the
- 39:10Speaker 4: family very smart.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Well, we don't know if Safe's old enough to drink wine.
- 39:14Speaker 2: She might need to pass that directly to her mother
- 39:16Speaker 2: as well. So this does not let you off the
- 39:18Speaker 2: hook for Mother's Day, by the way, So good job
- 39:21Speaker 2: on the nomination. And Kirstin, you sound like a very
- 39:24Speaker 2: worthy recipient of Wind beneath our the last wind beneath
- 39:27Speaker 2: our Wings for twenty twenty four.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Yeah, well done.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Yeah, good job, And yeah I think that's really that
- 39:33Speaker 2: brings us to the end of our inaugural season of
- 39:37Speaker 2: No Dribble.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Thanks everyone for having us. We've had an absolute ball.
- 39:41Speaker 4: We're going to try and click up a few little
- 39:43Speaker 4: highlights from the year and we'll get that on our socials. Okay,
- 39:47Speaker 4: I've spoken to our producer.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Em Yeah, it's not something that I'm across.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Okay with that, yesure with some highlights. Absolute don't forget
- 39:56Speaker 4: your merch. Everyone dates again.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Please buy the merch. So the merch window for ordering
- 40:01Speaker 2: is from today Wednesday, the thirteenth of November, for one
- 40:05Speaker 2: week only, and we can't extend it. There's people with
- 40:09Speaker 2: machines and men telling us things can't be done because
- 40:14Speaker 2: of Christmas and other things. So just do us a
- 40:16Speaker 2: favor and order between the thirteenth and the twentieth of
- 40:19Speaker 2: November up till midnight on the twentieth of November. And
- 40:22Speaker 2: you know, let's get some No Dribble merch out on
- 40:24Speaker 2: the streets and you know.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Spread the word.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yeah it's GluN but yes, and tune in for summer series.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Which week the netball summer What are we talking about?
- 40:36Speaker 2: The No Dribble Summer Series, which we have been really
- 40:39Speaker 2: enjoying recording with very very very very special guests over
- 40:43Speaker 2: the past few.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Weeks from the netball community and one particular one from outside.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right again, I wasn't sure what you
- 40:52Speaker 2: were talking about. Then I'm a bit slow today obviously
- 40:54Speaker 2: another copy. Anyway, that is the end of the twenty
- 40:56Speaker 2: twenty four season of No Dribble. Come back next week
- 40:59Speaker 2: for the summer series. But I'm Carolyn Swindell.
- 41:01Speaker 3: I'm Cathcock's going to miss you guys.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm lizz Ellis and I'll miss everybody as well.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And so I've still got a month befo. I've got
- 41:08Speaker 1: to put up a Christmas tree.
- 41:09Speaker 4: So I'm like, oh no, you don't do it this week,
- 41:11Speaker 4: do it this week with me. Let's FaceTime and do
- 41:13Speaker 4: it together.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Anyway. Thanks guys, We've had a great time with you
- 41:17Speaker 2: this year, so hang in there and we'll see you
- 41:19Speaker 2: back in twenty twenty five.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Love you long time.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Bye bye,
