- 0:00Speaker 1: You posted something vulnerable, something real, something that took courage,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and now you wait, you refresh, you check, You need
- 0:09Speaker 1: to know it mattered that you matter. Hours pass, maybe
- 0:14Speaker 1: you get a few likes, maybe you don't. Either way,
- 0:18Speaker 1: it's not enough. It's never enough, because what you're really
- 0:23Speaker 1: waiting for isn't a notification. It's proof that you exist,
- 0:28Speaker 1: that you're seen, that your pain, your effort, your existence
- 0:33Speaker 1: registers in someone else's world. But that notification will never come,
- 0:39Speaker 1: not because you're not enough, but because you're asking the
- 0:42Speaker 1: world to give you something. It was never designed to
- 0:45Speaker 1: provide a reason to believe in yourself. If you're ready
- 0:50Speaker 1: to stop waiting for proof and start knowing your worth,
- 0:53Speaker 1: type I exist right now, this is where it begins.
- 0:58Speaker 1: This is the trap most of us live in. We perform,
- 1:02Speaker 1: we curate, we edit ourselves into something we think the
- 1:05Speaker 1: world wants to see, and then we wait. We wait
- 1:09Speaker 1: for validation, for approval, for someone to tell us were enough.
- 1:13Speaker 1: And the cruelest part, it never comes in the way
- 1:16Speaker 1: we need it to, because no matter how many people applaud,
- 1:20Speaker 1: there's always a voice inside whispering that it's not real,
- 1:24Speaker 1: that they don't truly see you that if they knew
- 1:26Speaker 1: the whole truth, they'd turn away. So you work harder,
- 1:32Speaker 1: you chase more. You shape yourself into someone more palatable,
- 1:37Speaker 1: more impressive, more likable. You say yes when you want
- 1:41Speaker 1: to say no. You hide the parts of yourself that
- 1:44Speaker 1: feel too raw, too strange, too much. You become a
- 1:48Speaker 1: performer in your own life, and the stage is everywhere.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Every conversation is a test, every interaction is a chance
- 1:57Speaker 1: to be rejected or accepted, and your exhausted, because living
- 2:01Speaker 1: for the approval of others is like trying to fill
- 2:04Speaker 1: a bucket with a hole in the bottom. No matter
- 2:07Speaker 1: how much you pour in, it's never enough. The Stoics
- 2:11Speaker 1: had a word for this. They called it living in
- 2:14Speaker 1: accordance with external goods. You place your peace, your happiness,
- 2:19Speaker 1: your sense of self in things you cannot control, in
- 2:23Speaker 1: the opinions of others, in the reactions of people who
- 2:27Speaker 1: have their own struggles, their own distractions, their own indifference.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Marcus Aurelius wrote, it never ceases to amaze me. We
- 2:38Speaker 1: all love ourselves more than other people, but care more
- 2:41Speaker 1: about their opinion than our own. He saw it two
- 2:46Speaker 1: thousand years ago, and it's still true today. We betray
- 2:50Speaker 1: ourselves daily in service of ghosts, people who aren't even
- 2:55Speaker 1: thinking about us. Because here's the truth you already know
- 3:00Speaker 1: but haven't wanted to face. Most people aren't thinking about
- 3:04Speaker 1: you at all, not because they're cruel, not because you're unworthy,
- 3:10Speaker 1: but because they're busy. They're trapped in their own heads,
- 3:14Speaker 1: worried about their own performance, scanning for their own validation.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You think they're judging you, but they're barely noticing. You.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Think your mistake will haunt you in their minds, but
- 3:25Speaker 1: they've already forgotten. The spotlight you feel on you, it's
- 3:29Speaker 1: an illusion. You're standing on an empty stage performing for
- 3:33Speaker 1: an audience that isn't watching, and that's devastating because if
- 3:38Speaker 1: you've built your entire sense of self on being seen,
- 3:42Speaker 1: on being valued by others, then this truth feels like annihilation.
- 3:47Speaker 1: If no one cares, then what's the point. If the
- 3:51Speaker 1: world is indifferent to your pain, your effort, your existence,
- 3:55Speaker 1: then what do you have left. This is where most
- 3:59Speaker 1: people stay stuck in the cycle, performing harder, chasing louder,
- 4:05Speaker 1: hoping that if they just do enough, say enough, become enough,
- 4:09Speaker 1: someone will finally care in the way they need them to.
- 4:13Speaker 1: But it doesn't work. It can't work because the validation
- 4:17Speaker 1: you're seeking doesn't exist outside of you. It never did.
- 4:22Speaker 1: If you're tired of this cycle and ready to break free,
- 4:26Speaker 1: type I'm ready in the comments, this is where your
- 4:30Speaker 1: transformation begins. You've been taught that mattering means being noticed,
- 4:36Speaker 1: that significance comes from applause, that your worth is determined
- 4:41Speaker 1: by how much space you take up in other people's minds.
- 4:44Speaker 1: And so you've spent years, maybe your whole life, trying
- 4:48Speaker 1: to earn something that was never for sale. You've been
- 4:51Speaker 1: knocking on a door that was never going to open,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and the exhaustion you feel, that's the cost of living
- 4:57Speaker 1: a lie. But what if the I wasn't that no
- 5:00Speaker 1: one cares? What if the lie was that you ever
- 5:04Speaker 1: needed them to. Let's sit with it for a moment,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Really sit with it. No one is staying up at
- 5:12Speaker 1: night thinking about you, not your failures, not your successes,
- 5:17Speaker 1: not your fears or your dreams. The world is not
- 5:20Speaker 1: conspiring against you, but it's also not rooting for you.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It's simply indifferent. And that word indifferent lands like a punch.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You want to resist it. You want to argue that
- 5:35Speaker 1: some people care, your family, your friends, the people close
- 5:38Speaker 1: to you. And sure maybe they do, but even they
- 5:43Speaker 1: have limits. Even they are living their own lives, fighting
- 5:48Speaker 1: their own battles, carrying their own weight. They cannot be
- 5:52Speaker 1: the foundation of your worth. They cannot be the reason
- 5:55Speaker 1: you get out of bed. Because people are human and Hue.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Humans are unreliable. They forget, they get distracted, they drift,
- 6:06Speaker 1: and if your entire sense of self is balanced on
- 6:09Speaker 1: their attention, you will fall. Seneca knew this. He wrote,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we suffer more often in imagination than in reality. The
- 6:19Speaker 1: pain you feel when you think someone is judging you.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Most of the time it's fiction. The shame you carry
- 6:28Speaker 1: from a moment you think defined you in someone else's eyes.
- 6:32Speaker 1: They don't even remember it. You've been torturing yourself over
- 6:36Speaker 1: things that only exist in your head. The world moved on,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but you stayed stuck, waiting for a reckoning that will
- 6:45Speaker 1: never come. This is the breaking point, the moment where
- 6:49Speaker 1: the illusion cracks wide open and you see it for
- 6:53Speaker 1: what it is. You've been living for people who aren't watching.
- 6:56Speaker 1: You've been performing for an audience that doesn't exist. And
- 7:00Speaker 1: all the effort, all the anxiety, all the shape, shifting
- 7:03Speaker 1: you've done to try to matter to them. It was
- 7:06Speaker 1: for nothing, not because you're worthless, but because the game
- 7:10Speaker 1: was rigged from the start. You were never going to
- 7:13Speaker 1: win external validation, because external validation is a mirage. The
- 7:19Speaker 1: closer you get, the further it moves. And here's where
- 7:24Speaker 1: it gets painful, because if you've built your identity on
- 7:27Speaker 1: being seen, on being valued, on being important to others,
- 7:32Speaker 1: then this realization feels like death. Who are you if
- 7:36Speaker 1: no one is watching, what's the point of trying? If
- 7:39Speaker 1: no one notices, If the world doesn't care whether you
- 7:42Speaker 1: succeed or fail, why do anything at all? This is
- 7:47Speaker 1: ego death. The part of you that needed to be admired,
- 7:51Speaker 1: to be praised, to be validated. It's dying and it hurts.
- 7:57Speaker 1: It feels like loss, like for falling through the floor
- 8:01Speaker 1: into darkness because you thought that part of you was you.
- 8:06Speaker 1: You thought the approval you sought was proof of your existence,
- 8:09Speaker 1: but it wasn't. It was just armor, a costume you
- 8:14Speaker 1: wore to protect yourself from the terrifying possibility that you
- 8:18Speaker 1: might have to stand alone. But here's the twist that
- 8:23Speaker 1: darkness you're falling into it's not the end it's the beginning,
- 8:28Speaker 1: because on the other side of this breaking point is
- 8:30Speaker 1: something you've never had before. Freedom, real freedom, the kind
- 8:36Speaker 1: that doesn't depend on anyone else, the kind that doesn't
- 8:39Speaker 1: crumble when someone walks away, the kind that makes you unshakable.
- 8:45Speaker 1: The Stoics called this amor fati, the love of fate.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Not just acceptance, but embrace. The world is indifferent. That's
- 8:56Speaker 1: the truth. And you can let that truth destroy you
- 9:00Speaker 1: or you can let it liberate you. So what's it
- 9:04Speaker 1: going to be? Here's what the Stoics understood that most
- 9:09Speaker 1: people never will. The world's indifference is not a curse.
- 9:13Speaker 1: It's a gift. Because when you stop expecting the world
- 9:17Speaker 1: to care, you stop giving it power over you. You
- 9:21Speaker 1: stop waiting for permission to live, You stop checking over
- 9:25Speaker 1: your shoulder for approval, You stop shrinking yourself to fit
- 9:28Speaker 1: into someone else's idea of who you should be. And
- 9:32Speaker 1: in that space, the space where you finally let go,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you find yourself. Epictetus said, if you want to improve,
- 9:41Speaker 1: be content to be thought foolish and stupid. Think about that.
- 9:46Speaker 1: He's not saying you are foolish. He's saying you have
- 9:49Speaker 1: to stop caring whether people think you are, because the
- 9:53Speaker 1: moment you release the need to control their perception, you
- 9:57Speaker 1: become free to actually live, to expect, experiment, to fail,
- 10:02Speaker 1: to grow, to be human without the crushing weight of
- 10:05Speaker 1: constant judgment. This is the shift, the pivot point. Indifference
- 10:12Speaker 1: stops being something that happens to you and becomes something
- 10:16Speaker 1: that happens for you. Because if no one cares, then
- 10:20Speaker 1: no one is stopping you. If no one is watching,
- 10:24Speaker 1: then you can't fail in their eyes. If no one
- 10:27Speaker 1: is keeping score, then the only measure that matters is
- 10:30Speaker 1: your own. You're not performing anymore. You're becoming. Marcus Aurelius,
- 10:37Speaker 1: the most powerful man in the ancient world, wrote in
- 10:40Speaker 1: his private journals, you have power over your mind, not
- 10:44Speaker 1: outside events. Realize this and you will find strength. He
- 10:50Speaker 1: wasn't writing that for publication. He was reminding himself. Even
- 10:56Speaker 1: emperors need to remember that the only dominion worth had
- 11:00Speaker 1: is over your own thoughts, your own reactions, your own
- 11:04Speaker 1: inner world. Everything else is outside your control. And if
- 11:09Speaker 1: it's outside your control, why let it control you. This
- 11:13Speaker 1: is where philosophy stops being abstract and starts being practical.
- 11:19Speaker 1: When you accept that the world is indifferent, you stop
- 11:23Speaker 1: outsourcing your peace. You stop letting other people's moods dictate
- 11:28Speaker 1: your day. You stop spiraling because someone didn't text back,
- 11:33Speaker 1: or didn't laugh at your joke, or didn't acknowledge your effort.
- 11:37Speaker 1: You understand that their response is about them, not you,
- 11:42Speaker 1: And more importantly, you understand that your worth doesn't depend
- 11:46Speaker 1: on their response at all. Let me tell you about Diogenies.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He was a philosopher who lived in a barrel in
- 11:54Speaker 1: ancient Greece. He owned nothing, He rejected every social convention,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and one day Alexander the Great, the most powerful man
- 12:04Speaker 1: in the known world, came to visit him. Alexander stood
- 12:08Speaker 1: over Diogenes and said, I am Alexander the Great. Ask
- 12:13Speaker 1: me for anything, and it shall be yours. And Diogenes
- 12:17Speaker 1: looked up at him and said, stand out of my sunlight.
- 12:21Speaker 1: That's it. That's the embodiment of internal sovereignty. He needed
- 12:25Speaker 1: nothing from the most powerful man alive. His peace wasn't
- 12:29Speaker 1: for sale. You don't have to live in a barrel
- 12:33Speaker 1: to embody this, but you do have to stop believing
- 12:36Speaker 1: that your happiness, your purpose, your sense of self can
- 12:40Speaker 1: come from any one other than you. The world will
- 12:43Speaker 1: not save you. Your parents won't, your partner won't, your
- 12:47Speaker 1: friends won't, not because they don't love you, but because
- 12:51Speaker 1: they can't. No one can give you what you refuse
- 12:55Speaker 1: to give yourself. And here's the paradox. The moment you
- 13:00Speaker 1: stop needing people to care is the moment you actually
- 13:03Speaker 1: start connecting with them, because you're no longer performing, you're
- 13:08Speaker 1: no longer trying to extract validation from every interaction. You're
- 13:13Speaker 1: just there, present, honest, real, and that's magnetic. People feel it.
- 13:20Speaker 1: They don't know why, but they're drawn to people who
- 13:24Speaker 1: don't need anything from them, who aren't performing, who aren't
- 13:28Speaker 1: afraid of silence or rejection or indifference. Because those people
- 13:33Speaker 1: have something rare. They're free. Seneca wrote, a gem cannot
- 13:39Speaker 1: be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.
- 13:43Speaker 1: The indifference of the world is the friction. It's the trial,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and it will either break you or forge you if
- 13:50Speaker 1: you resist it. If you keep fighting for the world
- 13:53Speaker 1: to care, you'll stay brittle, fragile, dependent. But if you
- 13:58Speaker 1: accept it, if you lean into it, you'll become something else,
- 14:03Speaker 1: something harder to shake, something that doesn't crumble when the
- 14:07Speaker 1: applause stops. This is the awakening the realization that you
- 14:13Speaker 1: were never broken. You were just lost, lost in the
- 14:17Speaker 1: belief that you needed to be someone else to be enough,
- 14:21Speaker 1: lost in the performance, lost in the endless, exhausting chase
- 14:26Speaker 1: for external proof of internal worth. But you're not lost
- 14:30Speaker 1: anymore because you've found the one thing that can never
- 14:33Speaker 1: be taken from you, yourself. Marcus Aurelius said it best
- 14:39Speaker 1: dig within. Within is the well spring of good, and
- 14:43Speaker 1: it is always ready to bubble up if you just dig.
- 14:47Speaker 1: You've been looking outside for so long that you forgot
- 14:50Speaker 1: to look within. But it's all there, the strength, the clarity,
- 14:56Speaker 1: the peace. You don't need the world to give it
- 14:59Speaker 1: to you. You just need to stop waiting for permission
- 15:03Speaker 1: to claim it. So stop waiting. The world isn't going
- 15:08Speaker 1: to notice, and that's exactly why you're free. So what
- 15:15Speaker 1: does life look like on the other side of this?
- 15:18Speaker 1: What happens when you finally accept that no one cares
- 15:22Speaker 1: and let that truth set you free. You wake up
- 15:26Speaker 1: and you don't check your phone, not because you're trying
- 15:29Speaker 1: to prove something, but because the urgency is gone, the
- 15:34Speaker 1: need to know what people think of you, whether they
- 15:37Speaker 1: saw you, whether you mattered to them overnight. It evaporates.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You matter to you, and that's enough. You start making
- 15:47Speaker 1: decisions differently, not based on how they'll look, but on
- 15:51Speaker 1: how they'll feel. You say no without guilt, you say
- 15:55Speaker 1: yes without fear. You stop editing yourself in conversation, stop
- 15:59Speaker 1: calculating every word for maximum likability. You just speak, and
- 16:04Speaker 1: sometimes you're awkward, sometimes you're misunderstood. Sometimes people don't like
- 16:09Speaker 1: what you have to say, and it doesn't break you
- 16:12Speaker 1: because their reaction is about them, not you, and you're
- 16:16Speaker 1: no longer in the business of managing other people's perceptions.
- 16:21Speaker 1: You stop curating your life for an audience. You stop
- 16:25Speaker 1: posting for validation and start sharing because you want to,
- 16:29Speaker 1: or you stop sharing altogether. Either way, it's your choice,
- 16:34Speaker 1: not a performance, not a plea for attention, just an
- 16:38Speaker 1: expression of who you are. Take it or leave it,
- 16:41Speaker 1: and most people will leave it. They'll scroll past, they'll forget,
- 16:45Speaker 1: and that's fine because you weren't doing it for them anyway.
- 16:50Speaker 1: You become someone who moves through the world with a
- 16:53Speaker 1: quiet kind of power, not loud, not aggressive, not demanding
- 16:58Speaker 1: to be seen, just eddy, grounded, unshakable. Because when you
- 17:03Speaker 1: stop needing the world to validate you. The world can't
- 17:07Speaker 1: destabilize you. Rejection doesn't sting the way it used to,
- 17:12Speaker 1: Criticism doesn't cut as deep. Silence doesn't feel like abandonment.
- 17:17Speaker 1: It's just silence, and you're comfortable in it. People notice.
- 17:23Speaker 1: They don't always understand why, but they feel it. There's
- 17:27Speaker 1: something different about you. You're not trying so hard, you're
- 17:31Speaker 1: not performing, You're not fragile in the way most people are,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and that makes you magnetic, not because you're trying to be,
- 17:41Speaker 1: but because you're not trying. You've stopped chasing, and paradoxically,
- 17:47Speaker 1: that's when things start coming to you. Opportunities, relationships, clarity,
- 17:54Speaker 1: They show up because you've made space for them. You're
- 17:57Speaker 1: no longer cluttered with the noise of what everyone one
- 18:00Speaker 1: else thinks. This is what the Stoics meant by living
- 18:04Speaker 1: in accordance with nature, not the nature of trees and rivers,
- 18:09Speaker 1: but your nature, your true self, the one that exists
- 18:13Speaker 1: when you strip away the performance, the fear, the desperate
- 18:17Speaker 1: need to be seen, the one that was always there,
- 18:21Speaker 1: buried under layers of conditioning and anxiety and the exhausting
- 18:26Speaker 1: work of trying to be enough for everyone else. You
- 18:29Speaker 1: stop trying to be enough for them. You just are,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and that's revolutionary. You'll still have hard days, you'll still
- 18:38Speaker 1: feel lonely. Sometimes, you'll still wonder if you're on the
- 18:41Speaker 1: right path. But the difference is you won't look outside
- 18:46Speaker 1: for the answer. You'll sit with the discomfort. You'll dig within,
- 18:50Speaker 1: like Marcus Aurelius said, and you'll find that the strength
- 18:54Speaker 1: you were looking for was never out there. It was
- 18:58Speaker 1: always inside you, waiting for you to stop running long
- 19:01Speaker 1: enough to notice it. This is the life you get
- 19:05Speaker 1: when you accept that no one cares. Not a cold life,
- 19:09Speaker 1: not a lonely life, but a free one. A life
- 19:13Speaker 1: where you're no longer a prisoner to other people's opinions,
- 19:17Speaker 1: a life where you're worth isn't up for debate, A
- 19:20Speaker 1: life where you can fail, fall, stumble, and get back
- 19:24Speaker 1: up without needing permission or applause. You become impossible to shake,
- 19:30Speaker 1: not because nothing touches you, but because nothing breaks you.
- 19:34Speaker 1: You bend, you adapt, you move, but you don't shatter
- 19:38Speaker 1: because your foundation isn't built on sand anymore. It's built
- 19:41Speaker 1: on you. And here's the final truth, the one the
- 19:45Speaker 1: stoics knew and the one you're learning now. The world
- 19:48Speaker 1: was never cold, it was never cruel. It was just indifferent.
- 19:53Speaker 1: And indifference is the greatest gift you could have been
- 19:56Speaker 1: given because it forced you to stop waiting, you to
- 20:00Speaker 1: stop performing. It forced you to become the person you
- 20:03Speaker 1: were always meant to be. So accept it, embrace it.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Let the world be indifferent, and in that space find yourself,
- 20:14Speaker 1: build yourself, become unshakable. That's the power waiting for you
- 20:20Speaker 1: on the other side. If you're ready to stop waiting
- 20:24Speaker 1: for the world's permission and start building something unshakable within yourself,
- 20:29Speaker 1: leave a comment below saying I am enough, and make
- 20:34Speaker 1: sure to subscribe to the stoic mode and turn on notifications.
- 20:39Speaker 1: This is just the beginning of your freedom. Thank you
- 20:43Speaker 1: for being here. Stand unshaken.
