- 0:07Speaker 3: Chemist Warehouse, helping you spoil Dad This Father's Day.
- 0:10Speaker 4: Hello, good morning Mikey. Nat here for Chemist Warehouse.
- 0:14Speaker 5: It is.
- 0:16Speaker 6: Friday.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Sean Fraser in our newsroom. Good morning, mate.
- 0:19Speaker 7: Morning.
- 0:20Speaker 5: Good.
- 0:20Speaker 8: Still a lot going around today and some sad stuff.
- 0:24Speaker 8: Did anyone see those images of what happened in Nepal?
- 0:27Speaker 7: I saw some videos.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It is nuts.
- 0:29Speaker 7: It looks like AI.
- 0:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 0:30Speaker 4: A wall of water.
- 0:31Speaker 5: That's what a lot of people are saying.
- 0:34Speaker 10: It's so unbelievable to look at that it almost can't
- 0:38Speaker 10: be real, but it is.
- 0:39Speaker 8: That one, the car park one, it's like this big,
- 0:41Speaker 8: you know, like four-story car park.
- 0:44Speaker 9: Gone.
- 0:45Speaker 8: The water just demolished it all. So what is the
- 0:48Speaker 8: update overnight, mate?
- 0:49Speaker 5: Well, 35 Aussies are still missing.
- 0:52Speaker 10: 1,500 people worldwide.
- 0:56Speaker 5: They sort of go to this place. A lot of
- 0:58Speaker 5: tourists go there.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Because it's near where you do the climbing.
- 1:01Speaker 9: Stuff, yeah?
- 1:01Speaker 10: Yeah, and a lot of people go there for peaceful stuff,
- 1:04Speaker 10: pilgrimages and whatnot.
- 1:05Speaker 5: So 1,500 people are missing. 390 people have been confirmed dead.
- 1:07Speaker 11: Oh.
- 1:11Speaker 10: And there's 35 Aussies that they know that are there
- 1:14Speaker 10: that they can't get in contact with.
- 1:16Speaker 7: None of them.
- 1:16Speaker 4: We haven't found any of them.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I know that some are young kids as well.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:21Speaker 7: Which is really, really sad.
- 1:22Speaker 8: I mean, a bit of hope could be that obviously
- 1:24Speaker 8: all the telecommunications has been knocked out, right? So we
- 1:28Speaker 8: might not be able to find them, but they might
- 1:30Speaker 8: be alive.
- 1:30Speaker 2: But it's just the large number that's already been confirmed
- 1:32Speaker 2: dead is scary.
- 1:33Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:33Speaker 4: And when you look at those images, you're like, how
- 1:35Speaker 4: could you survive that?
- 1:36Speaker 7: I was going to say, with the images, it's... do
- 1:38Speaker 7: you watch them and go, why are you filming?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Like in some of the videos I saw, the guy's
- 1:43Speaker 2: filming and it gets so, like the landslide's getting closer
- 1:46Speaker 2: and closer and closer to him. And it's not until
- 1:48Speaker 2: it is so dangerously close that he starts then running away.
- 1:52Speaker 7: And I'm like, I wouldn't care for the footage. I'd
- 1:54Speaker 7: be out of there.
- 1:55Speaker 8: No, and a lot of it was like CCTV anyway.
- 1:57Speaker 8: You don't need to get your phone out.
- 1:59Speaker 7: No, it's nuts.
- 2:00Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, we can only hope for the
- 2:02Speaker 2: best for the Aussies that are over there.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 2:04Speaker 10: Incredible story out of the Gold Coast, this one. A woman,
- 2:08Speaker 10: she's given birth to biologically unrelated twins. So DNA testing
- 2:14Speaker 10: has revealed that the boy is biologically hers, but the
- 2:19Speaker 10: girl was genetically the daughter of another couple she was
- 2:23Speaker 10: a surrogate for. So basically, she was going through the
- 2:26Speaker 10: surrogacy for another couple, has had sex.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Oh, and then got pregnant herself.
- 2:32Speaker 13: Yes. Wow.
- 2:33Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I didn't even realise that was possible.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Neither did I.
- 2:36Speaker 8: So they're going to come out at the same time
- 2:39Speaker 8: but not be related.
- 2:40Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Are you sure now? You're pregnant. You sure it's not you?
- 2:43Speaker 7: I'm sure that it's mine.
- 2:44Speaker 4: It's not twins.
- 2:45Speaker 7: It's not twins.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Not biologically unrelated.
- 2:47Speaker 2: It has been confirmed that there's only one baby in
- 2:49Speaker 2: there and that baby is definitely mine and definitely.
- 2:52Speaker 7: My partner's too.
- 2:52Speaker 4: And the gender is?
- 2:54Speaker 7: Not telling you yet.
- 2:55Speaker 8: I'm going to get up before the end of the week.
- 2:57Speaker 8: I've got one day to go.
- 2:59Speaker 5: You know, this thing is possible with IVF as well.
- 3:02Speaker 10: When you go through the IVF process, they say, you know,
- 3:05Speaker 10: don't have sex for a while.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That is insane.
- 3:08Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 8: Hey, man, I also heard you talking about ciggies. It's
- 3:11Speaker 8: always a story. What's going on?
- 3:12Speaker 10: Okay, so a warning to those people who are buying
- 3:15Speaker 10: the cheaper legal ciggies.
- 3:17Speaker 4: 80% of Australia.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 7: No, 80% of smokers, not 80% of Australia. Come on, mate.
- 3:20Speaker 2: That would be a big trouble there.
- 3:23Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 7: Yeah, what's the latest?
- 3:25Speaker 10: Well, researchers in New Zealand, now they claim they've found
- 3:28Speaker 10: traces of arsenic and radioactive uranium in the Chinese brand
- 3:32Speaker 10: Double Happiness.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Now, that's one of our biggest sellers here.
- 3:34Speaker 4: You see them everywhere.
- 3:35Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 7: Right.
- 3:37Speaker 8: So there's, like, obviously tobacco kills you, but uranium ain't great.
- 3:41Speaker 13: No.
- 3:41Speaker 5: No, it's not. It's not good. Arsenic is also, what,
- 3:44Speaker 5: a rat poison or something?
- 3:45Speaker 7: Yeah, is it?
- 3:45Speaker 5: Not good.
- 3:46Speaker 4: And people are smoking them.
- 3:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 2: A huge story you missed in your bulletin this morning, Sean.
- 3:53Speaker 2: 400,000 oysters have been stolen from a New South Wales farm.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And I want to check the boot of Mikey's car
- 3:58Speaker 2: because they do.
- 4:00Speaker 7: Not know where these oysters are.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I do love an oyster.
- 4:02Speaker 7: It was 320 bags worth.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah, almost $ 400, 000, $ 350, 000 went missing from a mid-north coast
- 4:10Speaker 2: oyster farm.
- 4:12Speaker 7: But it was only discovered this week that they were missing.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And now police are actually urging the public to look
- 4:17Speaker 2: out for anyone with a suspiciously large number of cocktail
- 4:20Speaker 2: or bistro-sized oysters. So if your mate this weekend is going, hey,
- 4:24Speaker 2: come over for an oyster party, and there's just 400,000
- 4:28Speaker 2: oysters everywhere, you might need to call the cops. How's
- 4:30Speaker 2: that even going to the extent of some farmers, oyster farmers... are, like,
- 4:34Speaker 2: planting fake oysters with trackers in them.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Oh, that'd get me.
- 4:37Speaker 2: to try and see if they can get the thief
- 4:40Speaker 2: and find out who it is.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Well, they are worth a lot. That's one of the
- 4:43Speaker 4: things about oysters. I was at a bar on Monday.
- 4:45Speaker 7: But it's a stinky thing to steal.
- 4:46Speaker 5: I know, right?
- 4:47Speaker 8: Monday night, they had a special. I think it was
- 4:50Speaker 8: $ 2 per oyster.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Because usually.
- 4:52Speaker 8: You're spending about $ 30 if you're.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Getting them for a dozen, but at a restaurant it can.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Be way more. Mostly I say like $ 7, $ 6 an
- 4:59Speaker 2: oyster if they're fresh and they're good.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Monday night I got them too.
- 5:02Speaker 7: $ 2 though is the quality is good.
- 5:05Speaker 4: No, they weren't as good.
- 5:06Speaker 2: There's no way they can charge that little for a
- 5:09Speaker 2: quality fresh oyster.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Well, I didn't need them anyway. I got 400,000 sitting
- 5:12Speaker 4: in my car boots. Watch out my girlfriend Alana after
- 5:16Speaker 4: I ate them.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yuck.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah, you're on kiss.
- 5:21Speaker 9: Good morning.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Could you not? You had to sneeze
- 5:26Speaker 4: right then.
- 5:27Speaker 5: Straight then.
- 5:29Speaker 7: I tried to hold it in.
- 5:31Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 7: Bless me.
- 5:32Speaker 5: How was it?
- 5:33Speaker 9: Bless you, yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 7: Because I tried to hold it in. I feel I
- 5:36Speaker 7: didn't get it all out.
- 5:37Speaker 11: Right.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Do you need to do it again?
- 5:38Speaker 11: No.
- 5:39Speaker 7: I'm just going to have to wait.
- 5:40Speaker 9: A few hours.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Well, that's Nat over there filling in for Amy. I'm Mikey.
- 5:43Speaker 4: All right. If you can continue sneezing.
- 5:46Speaker 11: I'm fine.
- 5:46Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 5:46Speaker 4: I've got a question for you.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Yeah. What do women want?
- 5:49Speaker 4: Just in general. We don't even know.
- 5:51Speaker 8: Okay, so apparently you don't want, I want to run
- 5:54Speaker 8: this past you, Natalie. Apparently you don't want bold romantic gestures.
- 5:59Speaker 8: You want something else. I'm going to give you what
- 6:01Speaker 8: this something else is and see if you agree. So
- 6:03Speaker 8: according to influencer Bethany Dobson, this is what you should
- 6:08Speaker 8: be doing instead, men.
- 6:10Speaker 4: This is what women want. Finally, the answer.
- 6:12Speaker 3: There is nothing more attractive than a man who takes
- 6:15Speaker 3: the load off of you. I couldn't give a flying
- 6:19Speaker 3: f * * * about flowers, about you buying me
- 6:21Speaker 3: a new bag, about you posting pretty things about me.
- 6:24Speaker 6: No.
- 6:26Speaker 3: All I care about is your mature ability to reach
- 6:30Speaker 3: me like a book and think, this.
- 6:32Speaker 6: Girl is stressed.
- 6:33Speaker 3: This girl needs loads taken off of her. So men,
- 6:37Speaker 3: if you're watching this and your lady ain't liking you,
- 6:39Speaker 3: take responsibility off of her.
- 6:42Speaker 4: So take the load off her, which I do. Is
- 6:46Speaker 4: that what we're talking about?
- 6:47Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, you should always take the load off.
- 6:51Speaker 4: That's all I heard, sorry. But what is she really
- 6:54Speaker 4: saying apart from that?
- 6:55Speaker 2: So what she's saying is don't worry about the flowers,
- 6:58Speaker 2: don't worry about spending money. If you actually want to
- 7:03Speaker 2: do something impactful, which your girlfriend will appreciate, you should
- 7:07Speaker 2: be trying to do things like around the house. For example,
- 7:11Speaker 2: you can see she's cleaning on the weekend. Instead of
- 7:13Speaker 2: sitting on the lounge doing, watching the footy how about
- 7:16Speaker 2: you go babe do you need help with anything or
- 7:17Speaker 2: even better don't ask just get up and start helping right.
- 7:21Speaker 8: I remember once with an ex-girlfriend she was just like
- 7:24Speaker 8: frantically mopping and i was watching tv and i said
- 7:27Speaker 8: can i help she goes no it's fine it wasn't fine.
- 7:30Speaker 2: No it definitely yes whenever we say it's fine it's
- 7:33Speaker 2: not fine okay but yeah no it's the helping without
- 7:37Speaker 2: needing to ask for it or even without you saying,
- 7:40Speaker 2: do you need help?
- 7:40Speaker 7: We clearly would love help. We don't enjoy mopping.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I just went back to watch the footy. I was like, oh, well,
- 7:45Speaker 4: she's fine.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I think it was the other day when I was
- 7:47Speaker 2: vacuuming and I said to Kane, I'm like, can you
- 7:49Speaker 2: move your shoes? And he goes, yep, and just lifted
- 7:51Speaker 2: them and then put them back down. And I'm like,
- 7:52Speaker 2: that was my subtle way actually of saying.
- 7:54Speaker 4: He should have noticed the shoes needed moving.
- 7:56Speaker 12: Yes.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 8: So we need to do all that. But then you
- 8:00Speaker 8: get in trouble if you don't buy flowers and stuff.
- 8:02Speaker 7: Oh, no, I disagree with that. We want that too. Oh,
- 8:04Speaker 7: you just want everything. I think we want that too.
- 8:06Speaker 2: But what she's saying is if it's one or the
- 8:08Speaker 2: other or like don't think I'm going to do something
- 8:10Speaker 2: really nice for my girlfriend, this will be the winner,
- 8:13Speaker 2: I'm going to get her flowers. If you're going to
- 8:15Speaker 2: pick something that will have the most impact, I think
- 8:17Speaker 2: it would be her coming home after a day of
- 8:18Speaker 2: work or something she's been doing all day and you've
- 8:21Speaker 2: just unloaded the dishwasher.
- 8:23Speaker 8: Yeah, or lifted your shoes while she's vacuuming. I like
- 8:25Speaker 8: that you're still vacuuming though.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Just lift the shoes. The least you could do.
- 8:29Speaker 7: The least you could do is move your freaking shoes.
- 8:32Speaker 8: You might have a comment on that. 131065. It is
- 8:36Speaker 8: time for the birthday wheel.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 8: What is it today? 28th of August. Happy birthday to
- 8:42Speaker 8: you if it's your birthday. If it is, you're going
- 8:45Speaker 8: to call in. You're going to win an amazing prize.
- 8:47Speaker 8: And everyone has got the chance, if you get on
- 8:49Speaker 8: air for the birthday wheel, to.
- 8:50Speaker 7: Win a car. Yeah, a brand new Chiggo 4.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Chiggo.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I combined two words. A Cherry Tiggo 4 Urban SUV.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Everyone who spins the wheel has a chance to win.
- 9:03Speaker 2: School runs, coffee runs and weekend fun. Discover the Cherry
- 9:06Speaker 2: Tiggo 4 with a test drive at Cherry Ride.
- 9:09Speaker 9: You want to win?
- 9:09Speaker 4: Call us.
- 9:10Speaker 8: 131065. It's got to be your birthday, though. All right,
- 9:14Speaker 8: so get on the birthday wheel. If it is your
- 9:16Speaker 8: birthday today, we will play up next here on Kiss.
- 9:19Speaker 8: Your number one hit music station.
- 9:21Speaker 4: You're on Kiss.
- 9:22Speaker 8: You got Mikey. You got Nat here for Amy. And you,
- 9:26Speaker 8: for first calls, call us up.
- 9:29Speaker 11: 131065.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Let's have a chat. Why not? Okay.
- 9:31Speaker 7: Let's talk to Victoria. Good morning.
- 9:33Speaker 16: Good morning.
- 9:34Speaker 14: How are you?
- 9:35Speaker 13: Good.
- 9:35Speaker 4: What's up?
- 9:36Speaker 16: I just wanted to talk about the influencer before that
- 9:39Speaker 16: you guys had on air.
- 9:40Speaker 8: Ah, the take a load off influencer. She tells you, men,
- 9:44Speaker 8: you want to keep your woman happy, take a load
- 9:47Speaker 8: off her.
- 9:48Speaker 3: There is nothing more attractive than a man who takes
- 9:50Speaker 3: the load off of you. I couldn't give a flying
- 9:54Speaker 3: and f * * * about flowers, about you buying
- 9:56Speaker 3: me a new bag, about you posting pretty things about me.
- 10:00Speaker 11: No.
- 10:01Speaker 3: All I care about is your mature ability to reach
- 10:05Speaker 3: me like a book and think, this girl is stressed.
- 10:08Speaker 3: This girl needs loads taken off of her. So men,
- 10:11Speaker 3: if you're watching this and your lady ain't liking you,
- 10:14Speaker 3: take responsibility.
- 10:16Speaker 8: Off of her sick no flowers no nice treats.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Well I said I think both but yeah what do
- 10:23Speaker 2: you think Victoria I think I.
- 10:25Speaker 16: Think I'm on the ladies side because ladies here we're
- 10:28Speaker 16: hard working hard working women and then men just need
- 10:31Speaker 16: to take off a lot of hand load off our
- 10:33Speaker 16: hands like what give.
- 10:34Speaker 8: Me an example what do you want your man to
- 10:36Speaker 8: do for you Like the little.
- 10:39Speaker 16: Things, like washing dishes, maybe the laundry sometimes.
- 10:42Speaker 13: What else?
- 10:43Speaker 4: Instead of just being a lazy kid.
- 10:46Speaker 16: Yeah, lazy little bum bum.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Lazy little bum bum. I think helping anything cleaning-wise we'd appreciate.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Yeah, but isn't it like, oh, he doesn't do it right?
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, look, when you said laundry and dishes, I kind
- 10:59Speaker 2: of started twitching because I was like, stay out of
- 11:02Speaker 2: the laundry. But yeah, I mean, doing the floors and
- 11:05Speaker 2: the toilets, no one wants to do the toilets.
- 11:07Speaker 7: That would be a huge help.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Kaylee's on. Hi, Kaylee.
- 11:11Speaker 17: Good morning.
- 11:11Speaker 18: How are you guys?
- 11:12Speaker 9: Good.
- 11:12Speaker 4: What do you want to talk about?
- 11:13Speaker 18: So with Bruno Mars announcing his new tour yesterday, what
- 11:17Speaker 18: I was going to ask was, what's your favorite Bruno
- 11:20Speaker 18: Mars song?
- 11:21Speaker 4: Oh, what's yours, first of all?
- 11:23Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 18: Well, I've received some disappointment about this, but Versace.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 11:27Speaker 7: Me too. Versace on the floor.
- 11:28Speaker 19: Oh, you're kidding.
- 11:29Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 4: I like the David Guetta version.
- 11:31Speaker 7: No, this is the remix.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Is it? No, that's the original.
- 11:36Speaker 13: Okay. Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 4: The David Guetta one's much more upbeat. It's a bit faster.
- 11:39Speaker 13: Yeah. Yeah. No.
- 11:41Speaker 4: No, you can sing.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 11:43Speaker 4: It's one comment. Get it out of your head. How
- 11:47Speaker 4: to get to that. You know mine. It's better than that.
- 11:53Speaker 7: It's... Oh, yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Grenade.
- 11:57Speaker 7: God, you're such a fairy. I am a big fairy.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Like, I would have thought for you, like, 24 Karat
- 12:02Speaker 2: Magic or one of those ones.
- 12:03Speaker 13: Too happy.
- 12:04Speaker 4: You know, I like a sad song.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Oh, you do like a sad song.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Some sad, depressed piece of shit. Hey, on Monday.
- 12:10Speaker 7: Oh, yes, huge on Monday.
- 12:12Speaker 5: We are giving you.
- 12:14Speaker 4: One of us say it.
- 12:15Speaker 7: Which one?
- 12:17Speaker 4: Anyone want to say it? Thing, what are we doing
- 12:19Speaker 4: on Monday?
- 12:19Speaker 7: It's big.
- 12:21Speaker 4: The Bruno Mars You Getter?
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 4: We're throwing to producers to talk about the thing. Like what?
- 12:26Speaker 7: Because both of us just went, oh, Monday, it's big.
- 12:29Speaker 4: All right, all right, I'll do it.
- 12:30Speaker 8: Every caller that gets on air is going to win
- 12:32Speaker 8: Bruno Mars tickets.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Every single caller.
- 12:36Speaker 2: It is our next You Getter. So make sure you
- 12:39Speaker 2: are listening from 6 a.m. to get your hands on tickets,
- 12:42Speaker 2: especially you, Kayleigh, if you're a big fan.
- 12:44Speaker 7: You need to be listening Monday morning. I'm begging.
- 12:47Speaker 8: Make sure you call in from 6 a.m., all right?
- 12:50Speaker 4: Good luck.
- 12:51Speaker 7: All right, I've been covering this story all week.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It is the Lockie Neal Brisbane Lions player cheating on
- 12:56Speaker 2: his now ex-wife, Jules Neal, with her best.
- 12:59Speaker 7: Friend, Tess Crosley.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Yeah, big one, big scandal.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so this happened earlier this year, but the reason
- 13:04Speaker 2: it's being brought back up now is because Jules has
- 13:07Speaker 2: done a podcast where she told her side of the story,
- 13:11Speaker 2: and she basically said that it wasn't the first time
- 13:13Speaker 2: Lockie had cheated on her, And she also clarified, just
- 13:17Speaker 2: in case anyone was wondering, that they're definitely not swingers
- 13:20Speaker 2: or in an open relationship.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Definitely not in an open relationship and definitely not swinging.
- 13:27Speaker 2: If we were swinging, I wouldn't have packed up my
- 13:29Speaker 2: life and packed up the kids and left.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Because obviously it's not cheating if you're swinging, right?
- 13:34Speaker 6: Yes.
- 13:34Speaker 2: So in case anyone had any doubts, because it is,
- 13:36Speaker 2: you know, Tess, the other woman, was also married. So
- 13:39Speaker 2: it kind of looks like, hang on, was there an arrangement?
- 13:41Speaker 2: But no, according to Jules, definitely not an arrangement. Now
- 13:45Speaker 2: the other woman, Tess, has done her own podcast in
- 13:48Speaker 2: a bit of a tit-for-tat thing. Look, I'll just say
- 13:52Speaker 2: that her podcast to me sounds like a lot of
- 13:54Speaker 2: victim mentality, a bit of pick-me behavior. But she did say...
- 13:59Speaker 2: She knows she made a mistake. I mean, she can't
- 14:01Speaker 2: deny that. She did sleep with someone else's husband. They
- 14:03Speaker 2: also have a child, so you're kind of a homewrecker
- 14:06Speaker 2: in my opinion.
- 14:07Speaker 4: We should play Samba Homewrecker.
- 14:09Speaker 2: No, we could just play a bit of her podcast
- 14:12Speaker 2: where she was asked the same question about if they
- 14:14Speaker 2: were swinging, and this is how she decided to answer.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I think, like I said, there was a lot of
- 14:20Speaker 1: context that people don't know, but I think due to
- 14:24Speaker 1: respect of the other people involved, I obviously can't talk
- 14:28Speaker 1: about their past, private lives.
- 14:30Speaker 4: She doesn't give much.
- 14:32Speaker 2: She just keeps dancing around it, doesn't she? And like
- 14:35Speaker 2: out of respect at other people. And she keeps talking
- 14:36Speaker 2: about this alleged context. In what context or situation is
- 14:40Speaker 2: it okay to sleep with a married man?
- 14:42Speaker 4: I don't know if she explained herself properly.
- 14:44Speaker 5: We'd know.
- 14:44Speaker 4: What about swinging butt? Well, let's say they were. Hypothetically,
- 14:48Speaker 4: they were all swinging.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Okay.
- 14:50Speaker 4: You and Kane get.
- 14:50Speaker 9: A bit bored.
- 14:51Speaker 2: No way.
- 14:53Speaker 15: Never?
- 14:54Speaker 7: Never.
- 14:54Speaker 15: Sean?
- 14:54Speaker 2: Never.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Would you get into it?
- 14:57Speaker 7: I'm far too jealous.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 2: And also the idea, the thought of me being with
- 15:02Speaker 2: someone else is gross to me.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Oh, wow. You're that in love with him. The thought
- 15:06Speaker 4: of you being with someone else.
- 15:07Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I don't want to ever sleep with anyone else again.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Oh, that is sweet.
- 15:11Speaker 7: Oh, why do you guys not have that feeling?
- 15:13Speaker 5: Not me. You wait.
- 15:14Speaker 7: Wait, which one?
- 15:15Speaker 5: No, I've found my person.
- 15:17Speaker 7: So does the thought of sleeping with someone else make
- 15:19Speaker 7: you sick?
- 15:20Speaker 5: It doesn't make me sick.
- 15:22Speaker 7: Not sick, but like feel gross.
- 15:23Speaker 15: I don't know.
- 15:27Speaker 7: That's a no.
- 15:28Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 15:29Speaker 5: Like, I'm not going to, like, I don't know. Oh, no.
- 15:33Speaker 7: Oh, Mike E., what about you?
- 15:34Speaker 8: The sheer thought of bedding another woman makes me violently ill.
- 15:41Speaker 8: Explosive diarrhea and vomit.
- 15:44Speaker 15: I am.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I need to be hospitalised.
- 15:46Speaker 7: You're that ill at the thought.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Just the thought of it.
- 15:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 15:51Speaker 8: Thousands up for grabs with our pop queers every morning
- 15:54Speaker 8: at seven and eight.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Let's do one now.
- 15:56Speaker 7: Ellie is going to be playing. Ellie out of Melbourne.
- 15:58Speaker 7: Good morning.
- 15:59Speaker 19: Morning, honey.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Good.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Good.
- 16:01Speaker 7: Now, what do you want the money for, Ellie?
- 16:03Speaker 20: I want to go see my sisters.
- 16:05Speaker 11: They're in Perth with my nieces.
- 16:06Speaker 7: I've never been to Perth, but I've heard it's beautiful.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 20: It is very pretty.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Pretty beaches.
- 16:11Speaker 13: Oh, yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Huge beaches as well.
- 16:13Speaker 2: It's just like so far, because we're obviously on the
- 16:16Speaker 2: East Coast, that I'm like, by the time I go
- 16:18Speaker 2: to Perth, I may as well just go.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Well, you might as well go to Bali.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Which is not far from.
- 16:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Or do both.
- 16:24Speaker 13: All right.
- 16:25Speaker 7: Well, let's hope we can get you some cash this morning.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Best of luck, Ellie. Question number one. Which brand makes
- 16:30Speaker 2: the Samsung Galaxy phone? Who's older, Bindi Irwin or Robert Irwin?
- 16:36Speaker 3: Bindi.
- 16:37Speaker 2: According to Sabrina Carpenter's hit House Tour, how many floors.
- 16:40Speaker 7: Does she have?
- 16:41Speaker 17: Three.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Who's the current host of A Current Affair?
- 16:48Speaker 5: Pass.
- 16:49Speaker 7: Finish these Drake lyrics.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You used to call me on my cell phone late
- 16:52Speaker 2: night when you need my.
- 16:53Speaker 7: Love.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Dope is a famous catchphrase from which Simpsons character?
- 17:00Speaker 20: Homer Simpson.
- 17:01Speaker 7: Dolly Parton was the godmother to which celebrity?
- 17:04Speaker 20: Miley Cyrus.
- 17:05Speaker 2: What is Taylor Lautner's wife's name?
- 17:08Speaker 20: Tay Lautner.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Which major sporting grand final takes place in September?
- 17:13Speaker 20: AFL grand final.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Who released the album Wild Child today?
- 17:17Speaker 16: I don't know.
- 17:21Speaker 9: Pass.
- 17:21Speaker 2: All right, let's go back to who's the current host
- 17:23Speaker 2: of A Current Affair?
- 17:24Speaker 21: Um.
- 17:28Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 17:29Speaker 20: Tracy Grimshaw.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Tracy Grimshaw.
- 17:32Speaker 7: And who released the album? Oh, my God. You were
- 17:34Speaker 7: so close. I really wanted you to get there. You
- 17:37Speaker 7: got eight out of ten.
- 17:38Speaker 8: And, you know, the funny thing is two of those answers.
- 17:41Speaker 8: that she couldn't get are appearing on the show today. Well,
- 17:44Speaker 8: not Ali Langdon, but Tracy Grimshaw is what you said,
- 17:47Speaker 8: but it's Ali Langdon. Well, that's a different show, so
- 17:50Speaker 8: it's not really.
- 17:50Speaker 4: But Tracy used to host A Current Affair.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Oh, yes, okay, tenuous link. But yes, no, the current
- 17:55Speaker 2: host of A Current Affair is Ali Langdon and the
- 17:58Speaker 2: album Wildchild is Alex Warren.
- 18:00Speaker 8: Who is on the show after eight in the country
- 18:03Speaker 8: right now. And yeah, Tracy Grimshaw coming up as well.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I'm sorry, you were so bloody close.
- 18:08Speaker 13: Oh, thanks, guys.
- 18:09Speaker 12: I know.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Oh, well, no Perth for you.
- 18:12Speaker 7: No, she can still go. She has to pay.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Mikey, have you ever heard of something called a flirting coach?
- 18:18Speaker 8: Oh, is that you flirting with me right now?
- 18:20Speaker 9: No.
- 18:21Speaker 7: So maybe you need to see one.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Oh, we're about to chat to Lizzie Lang. So she's
- 18:24Speaker 2: a flirting coach out of the UK. And how she
- 18:27Speaker 2: got into this is basically she saw a flirting coach
- 18:30Speaker 2: herself and then after success with that decided to be one.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I didn't realise there were so many. Lizzie, welcome along,
- 18:37Speaker 4: you big flirt.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Hello.
- 18:40Speaker 14: Hi, thank you so much for having me on the show.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So tell us about when you started seeing a flirting coach.
- 18:46Speaker 2: What made you think, I need to up my game
- 18:49Speaker 2: here and get better flirting skills?
- 18:51Speaker 14: Well, I had been on the dating apps for so long.
- 18:57Speaker 14: And I just wasn't getting any results. It was exhausting.
- 19:00Speaker 14: I was wasting my time, my life. You know, I
- 19:04Speaker 14: was swiping and going on having to come home and
- 19:08Speaker 14: get changed and go out again and repeat. And then
- 19:11Speaker 14: one day I went on another day, the last day,
- 19:14Speaker 14: and I thought to myself. The definition of madness, Einstein said,
- 19:18Speaker 14: was doing the same thing over and over again and
- 19:20Speaker 14: expecting different results. So I was like, there has to
- 19:23Speaker 14: be a better way.
- 19:24Speaker 2: So is this how you met your now husband, Owen,
- 19:27Speaker 2: from the skills that you learned from seeing that flirting coach?
- 19:30Speaker 11: Yes.
- 19:31Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely.
- 19:32Speaker 14: However, he approached me in the end. I was in
- 19:36Speaker 14: the bar doing my flirting skills. with tips and tricks.
- 19:40Speaker 14: But I was taught by my coach how to present
- 19:43Speaker 14: myself at the bar to be approachable.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Well, how is that? How does a woman, if a woman.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Is open to meeting someone new and then... out, what
- 19:50Speaker 2: should they be doing?
- 19:51Speaker 14: They should be centre of the room, not hiding in
- 19:54Speaker 14: a corner, not on their phone. Looking approachable, friendly, because
- 20:01Speaker 14: guys are a little bit nervous to approach women.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Oh, we are.
- 20:04Speaker 4: They don't want to be rebuffed. Do you flick your
- 20:06Speaker 4: hair and, like, twirl gum in your mouth?
- 20:08Speaker 7: And bat your eyelashes.
- 20:09Speaker 5: Is that a thing?
- 20:10Speaker 8: Like, hey, babe.
- 20:11Speaker 2: You smile.
- 20:12Speaker 14: You have an open posture.
- 20:14Speaker 6: Right.
- 20:14Speaker 14: So you don't have your hands crossed. You're not looking
- 20:17Speaker 14: down at your phone. You're open, you're facing into the centre.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Of the room.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Yeah, looking like. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I want to kind of get from you, what are
- 20:26Speaker 2: your top tips when it comes to, okay, the woman
- 20:29Speaker 2: has the man next to her, they're engaging in conversation,
- 20:32Speaker 2: what should she be saying or doing?
- 20:34Speaker 7: How should she flirt?
- 20:35Speaker 11: Touch.
- 20:37Speaker 20: Oh.
- 20:38Speaker 14: So a gentle touch of the hand. Oh, the back.
- 20:43Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 2: The lower back, upper back?
- 20:44Speaker 7: Where are we talking? We need specifics, Lizzie.
- 20:46Speaker 14: Well, if you're getting up to go to the loo
- 20:49Speaker 14: or go and get a drink, you just touch them
- 20:51Speaker 14: on the shoulder or on the lower back. Or if
- 20:54Speaker 14: you're laughing, you can reach over and go, ha, ha, ha,
- 20:56Speaker 14: and just touch their arm.
- 20:58Speaker 8: I've had that so many times, so I know what
- 21:01Speaker 8: you mean.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And what are the common mistakes that people are making
- 21:04Speaker 2: when they're trying to flirt?
- 21:05Speaker 7: What are things people should avoid?
- 21:06Speaker 14: You need to ask open-ended questions. So some people think
- 21:10Speaker 14: they're conversing, but they're actually just making statements.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:14Speaker 14: And the other person then might not know how to answer.
- 21:17Speaker 14: The best question to ask is what's... What do you
- 21:20Speaker 14: think of? So what do you think of this bar?
- 21:23Speaker 14: And you use the place where you are as a prop.
- 21:25Speaker 14: What do you think of this cocktail? What cocktail would
- 21:27Speaker 14: you recommend?
- 21:28Speaker 2: As opposed to, do you like this cocktail?
- 21:31Speaker 7: Where really that's all you're asking for is, yeah, I
- 21:32Speaker 7: like it.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Now we've got our own Jackson.
- 21:34Speaker 8: He hit the streets to ask Aussies for their pickup lines.
- 21:39Speaker 8: I don't know whether a flirting coach likes pickup lines,
- 21:41Speaker 8: but we wanted to throw a.
- 21:42Speaker 11: Few at you.
- 21:43Speaker 7: Yeah, before we get to the pickup lines, what are
- 21:45Speaker 7: your thoughts on them?
- 21:46Speaker 11: Yes.
- 21:46Speaker 14: My husband's pick-up line was, tonight you met a cheeky Australian.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Oh.
- 21:51Speaker 4: So you're married to an Australian.
- 21:53Speaker 5: I am, yes.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Well, maybe some of these pick-up lines will have you
- 21:57Speaker 2: swooning then. Let's get into the first one. We asked,
- 22:00Speaker 2: what do you call a girl that you've just met?
- 22:03Speaker 2: And this is what this person said.
- 22:05Speaker 15: A sugarplum.
- 22:06Speaker 4: A princess. Probably beautiful.
- 22:08Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 22:08Speaker 13: Their name.
- 22:09Speaker 9: A shorty man.
- 22:09Speaker 4: I call her a shorty man, you know. Baby, beautiful. Baby,
- 22:14Speaker 4: my princess, my girl.
- 22:15Speaker 9: Beautiful.
- 22:16Speaker 4: I just call her by her first name.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Honey.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Okay, baby. There's a lot of baby there.
- 22:21Speaker 7: Yeah, and there was a lot of beautiful.
- 22:22Speaker 2: So what do you think you should be calling someone
- 22:24Speaker 2: that you've just met to let them know, like, you know,
- 22:27Speaker 2: you're interested?
- 22:28Speaker 14: Oh, that's a good one. I don't know. If you
- 22:32Speaker 14: just met them, you want to play it a little
- 22:34Speaker 14: bit cool, don't you? I would call them by their name.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Okay, we then asked, what is your best pick-up line?
- 22:42Speaker 4: Have a listen.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I'm not sure why I'm picking up the guy.
- 22:45Speaker 7: That's the guy's job.
- 22:45Speaker 9: Your hand looks heavy. Can I hold it for you?
- 22:47Speaker 5: If you were a vegetable, you'd be a cute cumber.
- 22:50Speaker 9: Hey, shorty, man.
- 22:50Speaker 4: What are you doing, man? You're so fine, man. You're
- 22:53Speaker 4: the funniest shorty I've ever seen, man.
- 22:54Speaker 7: Can you get on my line?
- 22:55Speaker 2: Oh!
- 22:56Speaker 4: Are you from Japan? Because I want to see your panties.
- 22:58Speaker 7: Are you from Tennessee? Because I want to see your panties.
- 23:01Speaker 4: I just slipped on my knees falling for you. There's
- 23:04Speaker 4: a lot of panties there. What do you think, Lizzie?
- 23:07Speaker 14: Well, I always think a sense of humour is a winner.
- 23:10Speaker 14: So if you can make a girl laugh, then I
- 23:12Speaker 14: think you're in.
- 23:13Speaker 13: All right.
- 23:13Speaker 2: We asked the boys, what's the best move that you
- 23:17Speaker 2: use to get a girl?
- 23:18Speaker 7: And this is what they said.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Buy him a drink.
- 23:20Speaker 9: Vodka Red Bull.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Probably buy her a drink.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Buy her a drink.
- 23:23Speaker 9: Buy her a drink, man.
- 23:24Speaker 15: On the first date, you know, always knock on the
- 23:26Speaker 15: door and never get them to come down and text
- 23:28Speaker 15: them or anything.
- 23:29Speaker 4: And I'll say hi to the mum.
- 23:30Speaker 7: Be touchy, flirt a lot.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Put your hand around her.
- 23:33Speaker 15: Drive to her house, you know, I'll open up the
- 23:35Speaker 15: door for her and I'll give her.
- 23:37Speaker 7: A nice bunch of flowers.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Maybe just stop talking, keep his mouth shut.
- 23:40Speaker 21: Oh!
- 23:41Speaker 20: Okay.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Any you like in there? I mean, a bit keen
- 23:43Speaker 4: buying flowers on day number one.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I think a lot of people said buy her a drink.
- 23:47Speaker 2: And then the one that I really liked was if
- 23:48Speaker 2: you're picking her up, go to the door.
- 23:50Speaker 4: I like that. Yeah, don't just text. I'm out the front.
- 23:52Speaker 4: What do you think, Lizzie?
- 23:54Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, that's nice.
- 23:56Speaker 14: However, I think if it was a stranger, I don't
- 23:59Speaker 14: want a stranger hovering by my door.
- 24:00Speaker 11: Okay.
- 24:01Speaker 8: Now, interestingly, you were talking about being in the bar
- 24:04Speaker 8: and waiting for a man to come up to you.
- 24:07Speaker 8: So we asked, what's the best thing a girl can
- 24:10Speaker 8: do to pick up a guy?
- 24:12Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 24:12Speaker 9: Make eye contact.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Just go up to them, be confident.
- 24:15Speaker 7: Ask for his number.
- 24:16Speaker 15: A subtle touch to the arm or something. Whisper some
- 24:18Speaker 15: freaky stuff in my ear. I'd say, honestly, I don't get,
- 24:20Speaker 15: I feel like girls don't do enough anymore. So I
- 24:22Speaker 15: feel like I'd like to get a drink bought for
- 24:24Speaker 15: me once in a while.
- 24:25Speaker 4: I feel like it's their time.
- 24:26Speaker 9: Maybe give him a hug.
- 24:27Speaker 4: What do you think? Can you buy a man a
- 24:29Speaker 4: drink or is that a no-no?
- 24:31Speaker 14: I think that's quite a bold move.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:34Speaker 14: But yeah, it is a bold move.
- 24:35Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 14: I do like it, but I probably just hover and
- 24:39Speaker 14: be like, that's a nice drink. Or what would you
- 24:41Speaker 14: recommend and see if they offered, but yeah, I don't
- 24:43Speaker 14: see why not.
- 24:44Speaker 7: So you're just standing there all night going, Oh God,
- 24:46Speaker 7: I'm thirsty. And it's just not picking up on any
- 24:48Speaker 7: of the cues. Oh, that'd be nice to have a drink.
- 24:51Speaker 8: It's really interesting stuff. You can follow Lizzie on Instagram.
- 24:55Speaker 8: It's I am Lizzie Lang. Thank you for joining us
- 24:58Speaker 8: so much Lizzie.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Thank you Lizzie.
- 25:00Speaker 14: That was so much fun. Thank you for having me.
- 25:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Hey, let's take your calls. Have you got a pick-up line?
- 25:06Speaker 4: I want to hear some awful ones.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to hear if there's any good pick-up
- 25:09Speaker 2: line where I'm actually like, that would.
- 25:11Speaker 7: Work on me.
- 25:11Speaker 8: Yeah, 131065, do these even work?
- 25:14Speaker 4: Have you got a good pick-up line?
- 25:16Speaker 8: Let's take your calls about that up next, all right?
- 25:18Speaker 4: Eminem playing now here on KISS. We just had this
- 25:24Speaker 4: flirting coach on, right?
- 25:25Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 4: It's a coach for bloody everything.
- 25:27Speaker 7: I know.
- 25:28Speaker 2: But basically her two big pieces of advice were touch
- 25:32Speaker 2: is very important and also when you're out in a room,
- 25:35Speaker 2: make sure you look approachable. So no phone in your hand.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Just be standing there and open, ready for people to
- 25:41Speaker 2: approach you. The other thing, though, she said is she
- 25:43Speaker 2: didn't mind a pick-up line because her husband actually used
- 25:46Speaker 2: a kind of pick-up line on her.
- 25:49Speaker 7: So if you got a good one, it may actually
- 25:51Speaker 7: still work. So we thought.
- 25:52Speaker 2: 131065, do you have a good pickup line that you
- 25:57Speaker 2: say works every time?
- 25:58Speaker 4: Here's Archie. Hey, man, what's your pickup line?
- 26:00Speaker 9: Hey, it is.
- 26:03Speaker 13: Are you a Wi-Fi router? Because I'm feeling a really
- 26:06Speaker 13: strong connection.
- 26:06Speaker 7: I don't know about that one, Archie. Has it worked
- 26:12Speaker 7: for you before?
- 26:13Speaker 5: Really?
- 26:14Speaker 7: Okay.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Would you say you're an attractive guy in general?
- 26:20Speaker 20: Oh, I wouldn't say that.
- 26:21Speaker 7: Are you good with the ladies normally, though?
- 26:23Speaker 19: I think the pick-up line's so good.
- 26:24Speaker 13: Right.
- 26:25Speaker 7: Do you think it just maybe breaks the ice a
- 26:27Speaker 7: little bit? Exactly, yeah. Yeah, okay.
- 26:29Speaker 2: So maybe it's less about what they're saying and more
- 26:31Speaker 2: about just coming in with confidence.
- 26:33Speaker 7: Confidence, exactly.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Paul, let's see yours. Hello, Paul.
- 26:36Speaker 11: How are you going?
- 26:37Speaker 21: Good.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Go for it, man. What's your pick-up line?
- 26:39Speaker 11: Is your dad a mechanic?
- 26:41Speaker 13: Because you are a machine.
- 26:44Speaker 9: Yeah, look.
- 26:45Speaker 5: What is that?
- 26:47Speaker 8: Is that a sound effect?
- 26:50Speaker 2: That worked on you more than it worked on me. Look,
- 26:54Speaker 2: it depends on the setting. That feels like a nightclub
- 26:56Speaker 2: pick-up line to me.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, a lot of them are. Wally, hey, Wally,
- 26:59Speaker 4: you're on air.
- 27:00Speaker 9: Wally.
- 27:00Speaker 19: Yes, mate, how you going?
- 27:01Speaker 9: Yeah, good.
- 27:02Speaker 4: What's your pick-up line?
- 27:04Speaker 20: Are you on Spotify?
- 27:06Speaker 2: Because you're listed as the hottest single.
- 27:08Speaker 13: Oh.
- 27:12Speaker 7: I hate all of these.
- 27:14Speaker 8: Jennifer, go on. Let's get a chick one. I didn't
- 27:16Speaker 8: know women needed to do this, but go on.
- 27:18Speaker 19: This is actually my son who's 10 years old. It's
- 27:21Speaker 19: a bit sleazy, but he always says, is there a
- 27:24Speaker 19: shovel in your pocket? Because I'm digging that ass.
- 27:29Speaker 7: Why is that my favourite one so far?
- 27:31Speaker 2: And it's from your 10-year-old son.
- 27:32Speaker 7: Why is he using pick-up lines? Where do you hear that?
- 27:36Speaker 19: He says it to our family. He's not allowed to
- 27:39Speaker 19: say it anymore. I don't know where he got it from.
- 27:41Speaker 19: But I always think about it because it's so funny.
- 27:44Speaker 19: I think it will work for him in the future
- 27:46Speaker 19: because he's.
- 27:46Speaker 2: A funny kid.
- 27:47Speaker 19: He's funny.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Did you start saying he's been saying it to family members?
- 27:52Speaker 19: Yeah, like he said it to me and to my
- 27:54Speaker 19: brother and he tells my mum. He just finds it
- 27:55Speaker 19: so funny.
- 27:56Speaker 2: He obviously doesn't really know what it means, but because
- 27:58Speaker 2: everyone laughs every time he says it, he's like, oh yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 2: I'm a comedian.
- 28:02Speaker 4: He's a cheeky little bugger.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I love it.
- 28:04Speaker 4: But I reckon that'll work.
- 28:05Speaker 8: The ladies will like him when he's older because he's
- 28:07Speaker 8: got some cheek in him. All right, Sebastian, what's yours?
- 28:11Speaker 7: Mine is.
- 28:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Mine is, you are what you eat.
- 28:17Speaker 9: And by tonight, I plan to be you.
- 28:24Speaker 8: The boys in the background are having a laugh, though.
- 28:26Speaker 4: At least they're laughing.
- 28:27Speaker 7: Yeah, nah, that one's a hard pass for me.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Thank you, Sean. Let's go to Nat. What have you
- 28:31Speaker 4: got in celebrity news?
- 28:32Speaker 2: Remember back in 2023 how Jamie Foxx had that mysterious
- 28:36Speaker 2: illness and he was in hospital and no one kind
- 28:38Speaker 2: of knew what was happening?
- 28:39Speaker 7: We've since found out.
- 28:41Speaker 2: He suffered a medical emergency that led to a brain bleed,
- 28:45Speaker 2: which eventuated into a stroke. And he was filming that
- 28:48Speaker 2: movie back in action at the time with Cameron Diaz.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Apparently it started with a headache and then he was
- 28:53Speaker 2: getting blackouts and things like that. He suffered about 20
- 28:56Speaker 2: days of memory loss. And when he woke up, he
- 28:58Speaker 2: couldn't even walk.
- 28:59Speaker 7: That's how bad it was. Yeah.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Now he's spoken out about that experience and how he
- 29:03Speaker 2: leaned on comedy to get through it. Take a listen.
- 29:06Speaker 22: The parts I do remember, like the rehab part was
- 29:10Speaker 22: frustrating because I'm like, they say.
- 29:12Speaker 5: You got a second chance.
- 29:13Speaker 22: I said, f * * * the second chance. What
- 29:14Speaker 22: was wrong with my first chance? This doesn't happen to anybody.
- 29:17Speaker 9: How does it happen to me?
- 29:19Speaker 5: It's a funny f * * * though. Like, Yeah, they.
- 29:23Speaker 22: Couldn't do wellness checks on me because I only had
- 29:27Speaker 22: comedy to lean on.
- 29:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 5: So I was just funny.
- 29:29Speaker 22: I was always joking all the time. So when they
- 29:32Speaker 22: come and say, who are you today, sir? And I
- 29:33Speaker 22: was somebody different.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Who are you today? Damn, it's crazy. I'm Diap Chappelle.
- 29:37Speaker 22: Somebody said I had a stroke.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Pow, damn.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Crazy it seems like at the start he kind of
- 29:43Speaker 2: was just sitting there and like that self-pity you know
- 29:45Speaker 2: how some people when bad things happen i'm a bit
- 29:48Speaker 2: of a wallower like i sit there and i like
- 29:50Speaker 2: what did i do.
- 29:51Speaker 4: To deserve this and all that i'm like that but
- 29:54Speaker 4: i actually i.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Don't know this is going to be a bit deep
- 29:56Speaker 2: of me but i saw something on instagram the other.
- 29:58Speaker 7: Day was it a quote it's no it's i actually.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Really it really resonated with me so i want to
- 30:02Speaker 2: share it So if you put everyone's problems in the
- 30:05Speaker 2: world into this ginormous hat, including your own.
- 30:09Speaker 4: It's the biggest hat in the world.
- 30:10Speaker 7: Biggest hat in the world. You wouldn't wear it.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Let's not split hairs about what the hat looks like.
- 30:15Speaker 7: It's a big purple hat with a bow on it.
- 30:17Speaker 7: Like think of Willy Wonka's hat.
- 30:18Speaker 4: But really big.
- 30:19Speaker 2: But it's huge because on little slips of paper, it's
- 30:22Speaker 2: got to have one for every person in the whole world.
- 30:24Speaker 7: Anyway, we're taking away from the sentiment here.
- 30:26Speaker 2: If everyone's problems in the world went into this hat,
- 30:29Speaker 2: And you had the choice to either keep your own
- 30:31Speaker 2: or lucky dip and pick someone else's out.
- 30:34Speaker 7: Would you keep your own?
- 30:35Speaker 4: Oh, but is it going to be some awful like problem? Exactly. Yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 4: but it could also be some nepo baby's problem.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Daddy doesn't love me, but.
- 30:41Speaker 5: I'm a billionaire.
- 30:42Speaker 2: But it puts into perspective that sometimes your problems aren't
- 30:45Speaker 2: actually the worst thing in the world.
- 30:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going lucky dip. Did we like that?
- 30:48Speaker 7: I thought that was good.
- 30:49Speaker 6: It's good.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Picture in this giant hat.
- 30:52Speaker 7: I know, the giant Willy Wonka hat.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Also, Kylie Jenner has got some pretty big boobies already.
- 30:57Speaker 2: She's been pretty open with the fact that she got
- 31:00Speaker 2: fake ones. Like, she doesn't try and convince us they're real.
- 31:03Speaker 2: But on a new podcast, she said she still wouldn't
- 31:05Speaker 2: mind getting them even bigger than they already are.
- 31:08Speaker 7: Take a listen.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I do want them bigger.
- 31:12Speaker 11: I'm like, they need to be bigger and more gigantic.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I want my tits to walk in before I do.
- 31:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:21Speaker 7: Is there a point where the boobs can be too
- 31:23Speaker 7: big for you as a man?
- 31:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so.
- 31:25Speaker 8: And you're either like, I mean, the boob guy or not,
- 31:27Speaker 8: but like they never quite look real, do they?
- 31:30Speaker 7: Hers had done really well.
- 31:32Speaker 2: And she actually went viral a few years ago because
- 31:34Speaker 2: she revealed how she had hers done. And it was
- 31:36Speaker 2: like half over the muscle, half under the muscle. And
- 31:39Speaker 2: hers like here, look.
- 31:41Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 7: Like they're not bolt-ons.
- 31:43Speaker 4: No, they're kind of believable.
- 31:44Speaker 7: But, I mean, she's got money for the best surgeon
- 31:46Speaker 7: in the world.
- 31:47Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 2: But then I don't know why she'd want to go
- 31:50Speaker 2: any bigger than that because she's quite a small girl.
- 31:52Speaker 7: You know when you see those girls?
- 31:53Speaker 4: Like out of proportion.
- 31:54Speaker 7: It looks ridiculous.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Sometimes I think if you're a tiny girl and you
- 31:57Speaker 2: were given tiny ta-tas from God, that's probably what suits
- 32:01Speaker 2: you better.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and your problem in the hat would be you
- 32:04Speaker 4: think your boobs.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Are too small.
- 32:05Speaker 9: Yes.
- 32:06Speaker 7: I actually wouldn't mind pulling that problem out of the hat.
- 32:09Speaker 9: Alex Warren. Hello. Welcome to Australia. Well, welcome back to Australia.
- 32:13Speaker 6: Thanks for having me.
- 32:14Speaker 8: And you love it here. Have we got a special
- 32:16Speaker 8: place in your heart? 17 weeks, number one for Ordinary.
- 32:20Speaker 6: I think regardless of the charts, Australia's always just been
- 32:23Speaker 6: the place. Growing up in a surf city, this was
- 32:26Speaker 6: always somewhere I wanted to go. I say this in
- 32:29Speaker 6: almost every interview. I used to put on an Australian
- 32:32Speaker 6: accent everywhere I went growing up.
- 32:33Speaker 9: Can I hear it?
- 32:35Speaker 6: I used to tell everyone I was from Perth, and
- 32:36Speaker 6: it was like a whole thing, and no, and all
- 32:38Speaker 6: this stuff.
- 32:39Speaker 9: It's actually really good.
- 32:41Speaker 6: It's not bad, but it teeters on English sometimes.
- 32:45Speaker 9: Yeah, if it keeps going for a while.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Yeah, if it keeps going.
- 32:47Speaker 9: How did you perfect that? Do you know many Australians?
- 32:49Speaker 6: I would literally, yeah, I grew up with a lot
- 32:52Speaker 6: of Australians and surfing, so that was the biggest thing
- 32:54Speaker 6: for us. I don't know why so many were in
- 32:56Speaker 6: San Diego, but I have a lot of history with Australians.
- 32:59Speaker 9: And have you surfed here or not?
- 33:01Speaker 6: No, I will be this week, which I'm very stoked for. Before,
- 33:03Speaker 6: I was only here for such a limited time, and
- 33:05Speaker 6: it was a flight every single day. We played one show, flight,
- 33:08Speaker 6: one show, flight. And now I'm here for six days straight.
- 33:10Speaker 6: So I'm really excited to actually start. I'm doing a
- 33:13Speaker 6: bunch of wave pool sessions.
- 33:15Speaker 9: Right, okay.
- 33:16Speaker 8: And is there anything apart from that that you're really
- 33:17Speaker 8: looking forward to doing in Australia then?
- 33:20Speaker 6: There's some spots. I'm really good friends with Rob Irwin.
- 33:23Speaker 6: So Rob and I are going to do some stuff together,
- 33:25Speaker 6: which I'm really excited to see him. He's just the
- 33:26Speaker 6: sweetest man in the world.
- 33:27Speaker 9: You're not afraid of the animals?
- 33:28Speaker 18: No.
- 33:29Speaker 9: Does he bring a python around with him or anything
- 33:31Speaker 9: like that?
- 33:31Speaker 6: It's so nice to watch, and I'm just going to
- 33:33Speaker 6: give my friend some glory here. Rob is such a,
- 33:36Speaker 6: very much like his dad, or at least what I've
- 33:38Speaker 6: been able to see on the internet and growing up
- 33:41Speaker 6: with that series, but also on top of it, he's
- 33:43Speaker 6: so caring of these animals that, like, I remember we
- 33:46Speaker 6: did something together with an alligator, and he's, oh, look
- 33:48Speaker 6: right here. And he's showing me everything about the alligator,
- 33:51Speaker 6: and I was like... Dude, I selfishly love to watch
- 33:55Speaker 6: him do what he does so well.
- 33:57Speaker 9: That's good to know that you'll be hanging around him.
- 33:59Speaker 9: So Ordinary, though, 17 weeks, number one.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:02Speaker 9: You've got an album that is coming out today, Wild Child.
- 34:05Speaker 9: And now that is because your dad used to call
- 34:09Speaker 9: you Wild Child.
- 34:09Speaker 6: Is that right? Yeah, my dad used to call me
- 34:11Speaker 6: Wild Child. Whenever he would look for me, I was
- 34:14Speaker 6: either on a rooftop jumping off of it or trying
- 34:16Speaker 6: to do flips off a lifeguard tower. I was always
- 34:18Speaker 6: on something and doing flips off of it. I was
- 34:21Speaker 6: like Benson Boone before he was conceived.
- 34:23Speaker 9: You were a naughty boy then as a teenager.
- 34:24Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 6: And so I was always causing a ruckus for sure.
- 34:27Speaker 8: And then I hear that there is like a voicemail
- 34:31Speaker 8: from your dad that is on the album.
- 34:33Speaker 6: My dad's a huge part of the album actually. So
- 34:35Speaker 6: he's actually credited a good amount on this thing. So
- 34:37Speaker 6: my dad's favorite musician was John Mayer.
- 34:39Speaker 11: Okay.
- 34:39Speaker 6: And literally like this was his dream. He loved John
- 34:43Speaker 6: so much. And I put John and my dad on
- 34:46Speaker 6: the same song together.
- 34:47Speaker 15: Wow.
- 34:48Speaker 6: Because I thought that that was so special.
- 34:50Speaker 8: Was that hard to do? You obviously have kept voicemails
- 34:54Speaker 8: from your dad then.
- 34:54Speaker 6: I think it was really healing. To be able to
- 34:59Speaker 6: take something that you can't control, like cancer and loss,
- 35:01Speaker 6: and be able to put your own beautiful spin on
- 35:03Speaker 6: it is what I think will live forever. This song
- 35:05Speaker 6: will be forever. People will be able to listen to
- 35:08Speaker 6: this when I die. I think that that's something so
- 35:10Speaker 6: powerful that this will be a part of my kids'
- 35:12Speaker 6: lives and things like that. I can't really ask for more.
- 35:16Speaker 8: And then a lot of people might not know, you know,
- 35:18Speaker 8: you were homeless for a while there. Is it true
- 35:21Speaker 8: you were eating, like, leftovers from the restaurant that you
- 35:24Speaker 8: were working at?
- 35:25Speaker 6: Yeah, and my wife got so mad at me when
- 35:27Speaker 6: she found out, which rightfully so.
- 35:28Speaker 9: But you've got to wait, right?
- 35:29Speaker 6: Well, we, and I love that I'm friends with the
- 35:33Speaker 6: owner of the restaurant, and I hope he doesn't see this,
- 35:35Speaker 6: but when people wouldn't finish their food, I would cut
- 35:38Speaker 6: off the ends and take it to go and bring
- 35:40Speaker 6: it back to my wife so we could eat because
- 35:42Speaker 6: I couldn't afford money.
- 35:43Speaker 9: Sorry, I couldn't afford food.
- 35:45Speaker 6: She didn't know that until I told her. She was like,
- 35:46Speaker 6: how are you? These burritos are like $ 17. How are
- 35:49Speaker 6: you buying this if we can't even afford a place
- 35:52Speaker 6: to stay? And I told her and she was like,
- 35:54Speaker 6: so you are not doing that anymore. So I would
- 35:56Speaker 6: do it and then I would buy her a burrito
- 35:58Speaker 6: and bring it to her.
- 35:58Speaker 18: Right.
- 35:59Speaker 11: Okay.
- 35:59Speaker 9: But it was always cut off. So you weren't eating anyone's,
- 36:01Speaker 9: you know.
- 36:02Speaker 6: I feel like it's fine.
- 36:03Speaker 9: Yeah. Well, otherwise it was going to go in the bin,
- 36:05Speaker 9: wasn't it?
- 36:05Speaker 15: Right.
- 36:06Speaker 6: I couldn't waste food while I couldn't afford it.
- 36:07Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 36:07Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 36:08Speaker 9: And talking of your wife, she's here in Australia with you.
- 36:10Speaker 6: Yeah, she comes everywhere with me.
- 36:12Speaker 8: Because you guys have been together a long time now.
- 36:14Speaker 8: You're childhood sweethearts.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Would you say?
- 36:16Speaker 6: Yeah, when we were 18 we met.
- 36:18Speaker 9: On Snapchat, right?
- 36:19Speaker 22: Yes.
- 36:20Speaker 9: Would you advise anyone who's single to pick up on Snapchat?
- 36:24Speaker 9: I mean, it works for you.
- 36:25Speaker 6: I think that I got really lucky. I got really
- 36:28Speaker 6: lucky at the time.
- 36:28Speaker 9: Do you remember how you did it? Like what happened?
- 36:31Speaker 6: My friend moved to Hawaii and they were staying together
- 36:34Speaker 6: and I had texted this friend and been like, wow,
- 36:37Speaker 6: this girl is the most beautiful person I've ever seen
- 36:38Speaker 6: in my life. And it was a photo of my
- 36:40Speaker 6: wife sleeping. And the fact that I like, she was like,
- 36:43Speaker 6: that's funny because my wife thinks that's the most horrible
- 36:46Speaker 6: picture of her ever.
- 36:47Speaker 9: A lot of women don't like the photo.
- 36:48Speaker 6: But I thought it was the most beautiful picture ever
- 36:50Speaker 6: I've ever seen. So we started talking because I slid
- 36:53Speaker 6: up on it. It's like sliding into someone's dams.
- 36:55Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 9: Yeah, and then it went from there.
- 36:57Speaker 6: Yeah, and now she's my wife and we've been together
- 36:58Speaker 6: for eight years.
- 36:59Speaker 9: And Ordinary is all about her, yeah?
- 37:01Speaker 6: All my songs that are love songs are about her.
- 37:03Speaker 6: I have plenty of them.
- 37:04Speaker 9: All of them? Okay, yeah.
- 37:06Speaker 6: Everything I've ever written is either about my dead parents
- 37:08Speaker 6: or my wife.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 37:10Speaker 6: I'm a two-trick pony, man.
- 37:11Speaker 8: How much has your life changed since something like Ordinary
- 37:14Speaker 8: came out then?
- 37:15Speaker 6: Oh my God, exponentially. I truly think that You know,
- 37:18Speaker 6: where I am today and the rooms that I'm playing
- 37:21Speaker 6: and any chances of charting on any of my music
- 37:25Speaker 6: is because of that one song. And I think that's
- 37:26Speaker 6: what it takes nowadays. You need one song or something.
- 37:28Speaker 9: And then it goes off, yeah.
- 37:29Speaker 6: I think so. And I think obviously you need a
- 37:31Speaker 6: great discography. I think a lot of my records after
- 37:34Speaker 6: start doing really well because people found me from that
- 37:36Speaker 6: one song. So it's crazy for any musicians out there, too.
- 37:39Speaker 6: I just feel like it can happen to anyone.
- 37:41Speaker 8: And talking of tonight, concert, and you're going to stream
- 37:44Speaker 8: it live on TikTok.
- 37:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:47Speaker 9: So does that mean anyone that had tickets, they don't
- 37:50Speaker 9: need to come now? They can just sit at home
- 37:51Speaker 9: with their phone?
- 37:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I guess so. I don't know how much of
- 37:54Speaker 6: an experience that would be, but I think you could.
- 37:57Speaker 6: I think it's more for the people who, I think
- 37:59Speaker 6: this album is a huge deal for me, and I
- 38:01Speaker 6: also think it's a huge deal for everyone who is
- 38:04Speaker 6: interested in it, obviously, and to be able to come
- 38:06Speaker 6: to my show which right now seems almost impossible if
- 38:09Speaker 6: it's selling out which is such a great problem obviously
- 38:12Speaker 6: um but for people to be able to watch you
- 38:14Speaker 6: aren't able to make it um it would make me
- 38:15Speaker 6: really happy for them to see it so i'm streaming it.
- 38:17Speaker 9: How do you feel when people are holding up their
- 38:19Speaker 9: phones during your concerts does it bother you are you
- 38:22Speaker 9: like can you just pay attention and watch um.
- 38:24Speaker 6: I think there's a moment during the show where i
- 38:26Speaker 6: asked them to put them down but i think that's
- 38:27Speaker 6: more just to be able to be in the moment
- 38:29Speaker 6: with everyone around them i actually don't mind it i
- 38:31Speaker 6: think that obviously having it up the entire show is
- 38:34Speaker 6: one thing, but most people are pretty like, oh, my
- 38:36Speaker 6: favorite song, let me get this moment. And I think, again,
- 38:39Speaker 6: in today's concert world where you can't, not everyone can
- 38:41Speaker 6: afford to go to a show, I think it's really
- 38:43Speaker 6: cool that someone's able to film that experience for maybe like,
- 38:46Speaker 6: like I have an aunt who is in Mexico who
- 38:49Speaker 6: can't really come to the States or can't go to
- 38:51Speaker 6: a lot of places. To be able to film a
- 38:53Speaker 6: concert of her favorite artist and be able to send
- 38:54Speaker 6: her that footage is really something special. So I put
- 38:57Speaker 6: myself in their shoes.
- 38:58Speaker 9: Well, tonight they're going to be able to watch you
- 39:00Speaker 9: if they're not there. What about you?
- 39:01Speaker 8: I mean, you got a big start from social media.
- 39:05Speaker 9: How are you with keeping off your phone?
- 39:08Speaker 8: Are you in between these interviews here? Are you going
- 39:10Speaker 8: to jump on there? Is your screen time really bad
- 39:13Speaker 8: or have you got some boundaries?
- 39:14Speaker 6: When I'm not on tour, I throw my phone away.
- 39:16Speaker 6: You throw it away. Like I don't go on it.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Like I literally chuck it on my couch and I
- 39:21Speaker 6: don't go back to it for like a week, which
- 39:23Speaker 6: drives my team crazy. That can't reach you. Well, all
- 39:26Speaker 6: I do is just go surf. Like i literally that's
- 39:28Speaker 6: all i do um but yeah no i think that
- 39:30Speaker 6: on tour it's so easy to pick up and you
- 39:33Speaker 6: have so much hurry up and wait and i think
- 39:35Speaker 6: people realize how much waiting there is until the show
- 39:37Speaker 6: and so we try to fill our time with surfing
- 39:39Speaker 6: or going to go see landmarks or zoos and stuff
- 39:42Speaker 6: like that and so yeah i do catch myself going
- 39:44Speaker 6: on it a.
- 39:44Speaker 9: Lot Yeah, it's hard to beat that addiction, isn't it?
- 39:47Speaker 8: I know.
- 39:48Speaker 6: Well, it's not. I can throw it away when I'm
- 39:49Speaker 6: not on tour.
- 39:50Speaker 9: Alex Warren, mate, thank you so much.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 39:52Speaker 9: Enjoy your time in Australia.
- 39:54Speaker 6: Thanks for having me.
- 39:55Speaker 9: And thank you for coming here.
- 39:56Speaker 6: Thank you very much, man. I appreciate you.
- 39:58Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 39:58Speaker 8: Let's do our pop quiz where you can win thousands
- 40:01Speaker 8: every day.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Andrew is on to play. Good morning, Andrew. Andrew, your
- 40:07Speaker 4: silence will only incriminate you further.
- 40:10Speaker 7: All right. You miss out. Let's get someone else over. Bye, Andrew. Sorry.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Let's speak to Sam. Hey, Sam.
- 40:17Speaker 21: Hi.
- 40:18Speaker 12: How are you going, guys?
- 40:19Speaker 2: Oh, you just got in there because Andrew's phone sucks.
- 40:22Speaker 2: You now have a chance at $ 1, 000. What are you
- 40:25Speaker 2: going to spend the money on?
- 40:27Speaker 19: I'm probably going to take some time to relax.
- 40:29Speaker 20: I'm working full-time and studying full-time, so I need a
- 40:32Speaker 20: bit of a brain break.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Yeah, totally.
- 40:34Speaker 7: Let's do this. Are you ready to go?
- 40:37Speaker 13: Yep, ready.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Good luck, doll.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Question number one. What letter is on the Kmart logo? K.
- 40:44Speaker 2: How many members were in the children's musical group High Five?
- 40:47Speaker 8: Five.
- 40:49Speaker 7: In which city would you find the Eiffel Tower?
- 40:52Speaker 5: Paris.
- 40:53Speaker 2: When talking about the MTV VMAs, what does VMA stand for?
- 40:57Speaker 14: VMA Park.
- 41:03Speaker 7: Which Hogwarts house is Harry Potter in?
- 41:07Speaker 13: Gryffindor.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Name a movie starring Tiffany Haddish.
- 41:10Speaker 9: Pass.
- 41:14Speaker 11: Pass.
- 41:15Speaker 8: Pass.
- 41:15Speaker 7: 20,000.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Else.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Which artist just announced they're coming to Australia on the
- 41:37Speaker 2: Romantic Tour?
- 41:39Speaker 13: Bruno Mars.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Let's go back to what the VMA stands for.
- 41:41Speaker 13: Uh.
- 41:46Speaker 20: Music Video Academy Awards.
- 41:49Speaker 5: Video Music Awards.
- 41:50Speaker 7: You were close.
- 41:51Speaker 2: But unfortunately, even with that correct, it would have been eight.
- 41:53Speaker 2: So you got seven out of ten. It's the MTV
- 41:56Speaker 2: Video Music Awards. Movies with Tiffany Haddish. You could have
- 41:59Speaker 2: said Girls Trip, Night School, Bad Trip. Loves a trip movie.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Haunted Mansion, The Secret Life of Pets. And then On
- 42:05Speaker 2: Purpose is On Purpose with Jay Shetty.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Man, so close, so close. Let's do it again Monday.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Yeah, more chance to win thousands of bucks Monday morning
- 42:16Speaker 2: from 6 a.m.
- 42:17Speaker 13: All right.
- 42:17Speaker 8: Got to remind you of the day. So it is Friday.
- 42:19Speaker 8: And how much does filling up petrol suck?
- 42:23Speaker 4: It's like the worst thing in the world.
- 42:23Speaker 7: It's actually like one of my most hated jobs.
- 42:25Speaker 4: I'd pay someone just to do it.
- 42:27Speaker 2: I wish we had what they have in America, or
- 42:29Speaker 2: they don't even really anymore, but the petrol pump people.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, they used to. Even down the.
- 42:34Speaker 8: Coast, there was a servo for a while there that
- 42:38Speaker 8: still had it.
- 42:38Speaker 9: You'd pull up.
- 42:39Speaker 8: This old man had come out. He was about to die.
- 42:42Speaker 8: It was getting a bit pathetic. And he'd fill it
- 42:44Speaker 8: up for you.
- 42:44Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:45Speaker 4: And you'd just sit there.
- 42:45Speaker 7: It's just so boring.
- 42:46Speaker 12: Mm.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I think that's what it is and it shows how
- 42:49Speaker 2: short our attention spans are that we can't even feel it.
- 42:51Speaker 7: It takes three minutes.
- 42:52Speaker 4: You're not even meant to play on your phone while
- 42:54Speaker 4: you're doing it. Oh, yeah.
- 42:55Speaker 7: I don't.
- 42:56Speaker 9: Do you?
- 42:56Speaker 2: Nah.
- 42:57Speaker 8: Mine's plugged in for the Apple CarPlay or whatever. I
- 42:59Speaker 8: don't want to take it out.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Cain pulls up and he leaves his car on and
- 43:02Speaker 2: takes his phone out there. And fills up petrol with
- 43:04Speaker 2: it on. Yeah, and I make him turn it off
- 43:06Speaker 2: and get off his phone. But when I'm not with him,
- 43:08Speaker 2: he's 100% doing that.
- 43:10Speaker 8: Can you fill your car up with it on? I
- 43:12Speaker 8: thought that was illegal or, like, dangerous.
- 43:15Speaker 7: Go find him.
- 43:16Speaker 17: Arrest him.
- 43:16Speaker 5: I've never heard of anyone doing that.
- 43:18Speaker 4: No, but I thought it would blow up or something.
- 43:20Speaker 7: I think it's only the risk if you've got a
- 43:22Speaker 7: leak or something.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 43:23Speaker 7: Or the car's too hot.
- 43:24Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 43:25Speaker 7: I don't know. But I've seen him do it, and
- 43:27Speaker 7: I tell him not to when I'm in the car.
- 43:28Speaker 4: But God knows what I'm doing.
- 43:30Speaker 7: He's definitely always on his phone.
- 43:32Speaker 10: Always.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Car's on, and he's smoking a Cuban cigar.
- 43:35Speaker 15: Mental.
- 43:36Speaker 7: Yes, and he's doused himself in petrol.
- 43:40Speaker 4: So, look, they've done a study. Because going to the
- 43:42Speaker 4: servo sucks, we'd all agree. But one of the most.
- 43:44Speaker 8: Annoying things when you are filling up petrol, 28%. People
- 43:50Speaker 8: hate this. When you pull up at the pump, I
- 43:52Speaker 8: do this. But you're not actually buying fuel. You're just
- 43:55Speaker 8: going in to do other things.
- 43:56Speaker 7: Oh, no, you can't.
- 43:57Speaker 2: You only pull up at the, no, there's spots at
- 43:59Speaker 2: the front for that.
- 44:00Speaker 8: Yeah, I'll just pull up next to it. Like, you're
- 44:02Speaker 8: not going to be that long. You're not doing a
- 44:04Speaker 8: full grocery shop in the servo.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Oh, some people make a coffee at the back and
- 44:08Speaker 2: then peruse the aisles. Is this on the list? Because
- 44:11Speaker 2: this is my pet peeve. When they pull up at
- 44:13Speaker 2: the back pump and not the front pump.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Yes, I agree with that. Go to the front.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Always go to the front.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Yeah, so there's room for people.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Or people that reverse and then go the other way
- 44:24Speaker 2: because they didn't want to wait and their pump is
- 44:26Speaker 2: clearly on the other side, but they're on yours.
- 44:28Speaker 8: And they're dragging the hose across the car.
- 44:30Speaker 7: They're scratching the roof of their car.
- 44:32Speaker 5: Here's another one.
- 44:33Speaker 8: Well, on that, a quarter of people can't stand it
- 44:35Speaker 8: when people move their car forward.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Too slowly.
- 44:38Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 44:39Speaker 7: You filled it up.
- 44:40Speaker 4: Get out of there.
- 44:41Speaker 2: But same rule applies if you're at the shops and
- 44:44Speaker 2: you can see that I've been driving around for 15
- 44:46Speaker 2: minutes trying to find a car spot. You're back at
- 44:49Speaker 2: your car. You're loading it in like with your shopping
- 44:51Speaker 2: or whatever. Get out of there as quickly as possible,
- 44:54Speaker 2: you rude dog.
- 44:55Speaker 4: Yes, especially if you're at the back pump and you're
- 44:57Speaker 4: not letting someone get into the frame.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Oh, like I know you might want to like make
- 45:00Speaker 2: it quickly send a text message.
- 45:02Speaker 7: Do it in your own time.
- 45:03Speaker 4: We're all busy.
- 45:03Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 45:04Speaker 4: Hey, I see the phones are going off.
- 45:06Speaker 8: Are people calling in about filling up with your engine
- 45:09Speaker 8: turned on?
- 45:10Speaker 4: Is that what's happening out there?
- 45:12Speaker 8: They also want Bruno Mars tickets because people haven't got
- 45:15Speaker 8: the memo that it's actually happening on Monday and we're
- 45:18Speaker 8: not giving them away yet.
- 45:18Speaker 7: Just impromptu throwing the calls. I think one of the
- 45:20Speaker 7: calls is Tracy Grimshaw.
- 45:22Speaker 11: Oh.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Tracy, good morning.
- 45:25Speaker 7: She's there talking to her.
- 45:27Speaker 4: We'll talk to her next. This normally happens back end.
- 45:30Speaker 7: He's just sometimes.
- 45:32Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 45:33Speaker 8: I just wanted to know about the fuel. I wanted
- 45:36Speaker 8: to know if you can.
- 45:37Speaker 2: We never asked anyone to call. They can Google. Hey, Alec,
- 45:41Speaker 2: the pom, could you please Google exactly these words? When
- 45:46Speaker 2: filling up petrol, is it, are you with me?
- 45:52Speaker 5: Yeah, following.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Is it illegal to leave the car on? I have
- 45:57Speaker 2: already looked into this.
- 45:58Speaker 5: Dial up.
- 45:59Speaker 10: It is generally not a specific traffic crime to leave
- 46:02Speaker 10: your engine running while filling up with petrol, but it
- 46:04Speaker 10: is a major safety violation, and this bit's in bold,
- 46:07Speaker 10: against servo rules.
- 46:09Speaker 7: Oh, he's breaking it. Arrest him. He's breaking servo rules.
- 46:13Speaker 4: But it's not dangerous.
- 46:15Speaker 7: No, it said it's a major safety concern. You took
- 46:18Speaker 7: the wrong thing out of that message.
- 46:19Speaker 5: It's not illegal, but you just shouldn't do it.
- 46:22Speaker 7: It's frowned upon, if you will.
- 46:24Speaker 8: Your fiancé, he's got a bloody child. He's expecting a child.
- 46:28Speaker 8: He needs to turn the car off when he's filling up.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I already told him none of that behaviour
- 46:33Speaker 2: if he's got the child in the car.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Oh, nah.
- 46:35Speaker 8: I bet there's a whole bunch of other things you
- 46:37Speaker 8: can't do once a baby comes along, yeah?
- 46:39Speaker 9: You've been strict.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Not really, no.
- 46:41Speaker 7: I think I could be stricter, if anything.
- 46:43Speaker 4: Well, what about Tracy Grimshaw? Should we chat to her next?
- 46:46Speaker 7: Is she ready?
- 46:48Speaker 2: She will be after this.
- 46:49Speaker 11: Okay.
- 46:50Speaker 4: Should we play a song first then? It's what we
- 46:52Speaker 4: usually do.
- 46:52Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Hey, Steve-o. Our CEO's out there.
- 46:56Speaker 9: Hey, Steve-o.
- 46:57Speaker 4: I wonder if he fills his car up with his
- 46:59Speaker 4: engine on. We'll have to ask him.
- 47:00Speaker 7: We'll find out and then we'll tell you after the break.
- 47:04Speaker 8: Tracy Grimshaw is joining us live on air right now.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so there's a special 60 Minutes episode airing this
- 47:10Speaker 2: Sunday where Tracy will speak to Leah Stewart. She's the
- 47:13Speaker 2: young mum that was mauled by a suspected 3.5 metre
- 47:18Speaker 2: great white shark back in June at Coogee Beach in Sydney. Now,
- 47:22Speaker 2: she was swimming between the flags when it happened as well.
- 47:25Speaker 2: So she suffered multiple bites to her arms and legs.
- 47:28Speaker 2: She was placed in an induced coma and had several
- 47:31Speaker 2: surgeries and ended up having to have one of her
- 47:33Speaker 2: arms amputated.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and Tracey sits down with her in a special
- 47:38Speaker 4: and we're going to chat about it right now. Good morning, Tracey.
- 47:40Speaker 20: Morning, Mike.
- 47:42Speaker 11: Morning, Matt.
- 47:43Speaker 13: Hello.
- 47:43Speaker 4: So, I mean, this is the first time she has
- 47:45Speaker 4: spoken to the public. How is she going? Because it's
- 47:49Speaker 4: been a horrible experience.
- 47:52Speaker 11: Awful. Look, she's a remarkable girl. She has been through
- 47:57Speaker 11: the worst, most catastrophic events that we could all imagine,
- 48:00Speaker 11: of course. She's got a few bumps ahead of her. Obviously,
- 48:05Speaker 11: she's lost her arm. She's lost her arm below her elbow.
- 48:07Speaker 11: She's lost a massive chunk of her left side, basically
- 48:11Speaker 11: the entire, the shark bit her left thigh and took
- 48:14Speaker 11: the entire outside muscle out which obviously that's gone so
- 48:18Speaker 11: she's had to learn to walk again using a different
- 48:21Speaker 11: set of muscles on that leg um the skin graft
- 48:24Speaker 11: hasn't taken so she may need more surgery she has
- 48:27Speaker 11: to wear a pump to try and you know, pull
- 48:29Speaker 11: that skin together. So, you know, it's not plain sailing.
- 48:33Speaker 11: There's no question about that, but she's trying to look
- 48:35Speaker 11: on the bright side. She's a very resilient girl. Okay.
- 48:39Speaker 8: Now look, I was actually in the, not that beach,
- 48:41Speaker 8: but I was swimming around that same time. I swim
- 48:44Speaker 8: a lot. I love my ocean swims. Does she talk
- 48:47Speaker 8: about the moment? Because from memory, they were only about
- 48:50Speaker 8: 30 meters off Coogee beach. Does she relive the moment
- 48:55Speaker 8: that the shark came up?
- 48:57Speaker 11: Yeah, she does. She remembers everything. It's extraordinary. Normally people
- 49:01Speaker 11: who have a big trauma, you know, I think there's
- 49:05Speaker 11: something about self-preservation in the body that wipes your memory.
- 49:09Speaker 11: It's not blacked out for her. She remembers every single
- 49:13Speaker 11: chilling minute of it. And she will tell you that
- 49:16Speaker 11: on Sunday night. I mean, look, any, it was very
- 49:20Speaker 11: close to shore you know she broke none of the
- 49:22Speaker 11: rules on the day she loves swimming and she swims
- 49:25Speaker 11: across Coogee Bay or she used to swim across Coogee
- 49:28Speaker 11: Bay pretty regularly but she was always mindful of sharks
- 49:31Speaker 11: you know she would always swim close to shore and
- 49:35Speaker 11: only on a clear day. And it was the middle
- 49:37Speaker 11: of the day. It wasn't dawn or dusk, all of
- 49:39Speaker 11: those things that we're told. you know, dodgy times to swim,
- 49:43Speaker 11: you know, in terms of shark activity. She didn't break
- 49:46Speaker 11: any of the rules. But, you know, clearly the shark
- 49:48Speaker 11: broke the rules. I guess the shark didn't read the
- 49:50Speaker 11: press release.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I mean, going to the beach and having a swim
- 49:54Speaker 2: is kind of part of Aussie culture. And obviously something
- 49:57Speaker 2: horrific has happened to her. But did she talk to
- 49:59Speaker 2: you about whether or not she's happy to go in
- 50:02Speaker 2: the ocean and have a swim ever again? Or has
- 50:04Speaker 2: that kind of turned her off something that she loved
- 50:06Speaker 2: for life?
- 50:08Speaker 11: She's a long way off being able to go in
- 50:11Speaker 11: the ocean again. She can't have a shower now without
- 50:14Speaker 11: wrapping her leg in plastic because the skin graft hasn't healed. But,
- 50:18Speaker 11: you know, looking into the future, I think that she
- 50:22Speaker 11: will swim again. And I think that she, you know,
- 50:26Speaker 11: I think she probably thinks that she would like to
- 50:28Speaker 11: go in the ocean again. I think she's a way
- 50:31Speaker 11: off that. Honestly, in terms of reality, she's a way
- 50:34Speaker 11: off doing that. But I think her plan is that
- 50:37Speaker 11: she would like to get back there again. Yeah.
- 50:39Speaker 2: And over your career, Tracey, you've reported on some pretty
- 50:42Speaker 2: amazing and unbelievable stories. Is Leah's story up there with
- 50:45Speaker 2: one of the most traumatic and impactful that you've done?
- 50:50Speaker 11: It is definitely, it is an epic story of survival.
- 50:54Speaker 11: And I've done, you know, I also spoke with the
- 50:57Speaker 11: Beaconsfield miners, you know, from Launceston. And that was another
- 51:02Speaker 11: epic story of survival under radically different circumstances, of course.
- 51:06Speaker 11: I think when you talk to someone who's been through
- 51:09Speaker 11: a catastrophic event in their lives, you learn something. You
- 51:14Speaker 11: learn something about human resilience. You learn something about human nature.
- 51:18Speaker 11: And every story teaches you something different. This story, you know, well,
- 51:24Speaker 11: I think in a lot of them, you learn that
- 51:26Speaker 11: it takes a village. And in Leah's case, it was
- 51:29Speaker 11: a village of people who saved her on that day.
- 51:31Speaker 11: She would have died multiple times. on that day without
- 51:34Speaker 11: human intervention, starting with her own in the moment of
- 51:37Speaker 11: the attack and the decisions that she made and the
- 51:40Speaker 11: fight she put up. But then, you know, she had
- 51:42Speaker 11: a world champion paddleboarder a few metres away, Charlie Bercow,
- 51:46Speaker 11: paddled into bloodstained water and pulled her up.
- 51:49Speaker 7: I know, what a hero.
- 51:51Speaker 18: Extraordinary.
- 51:52Speaker 11: And then an extraordinary ambulance, high-level ambulance doctor, emergency doctor,
- 51:58Speaker 11: who happened to be on the beach buying his kids
- 52:00Speaker 11: a milkshake before he you know, his daughter's dance class,
- 52:03Speaker 11: who took control of everything on the beach and drilled
- 52:06Speaker 11: into the bones of her shoulder to get, you know,
- 52:09Speaker 11: blood and fluid into her bone marrow because her veins
- 52:11Speaker 11: had collapsed. I mean, what are the chances of him
- 52:14Speaker 11: being on the beach when this happens?
- 52:15Speaker 5: I know.
- 52:16Speaker 8: It is just an incredible story. We will be watching.
- 52:18Speaker 8: So 60 Minutes special. It's airing on Sunday, the 30th.
- 52:22Speaker 8: So this Sunday, Channel 9 and 9 Now. It'll also
- 52:26Speaker 8: be available on Stan from Monday. Tracey Grimshaw, an incredible story.
- 52:32Speaker 8: Thank you for coming on.
- 52:32Speaker 4: Thank you, Tracey.
- 52:34Speaker 20: Thank you.
- 52:34Speaker 13: Good to talk with you.
- 52:35Speaker 9: Thanks a lot.
- 52:36Speaker 4: All right, I'll be watching that on Sunday night. Now,
- 52:39Speaker 4: what is it, half past eight?
- 52:40Speaker 8: We've still got some celeb news to come up with
- 52:42Speaker 8: Nat and your last calls on 131065.
- 52:46Speaker 4: It's Friday morning and you're on Kiss.
- 52:48Speaker 2: You know Jennifer Garner, the actress? She was married to
- 52:51Speaker 2: Ben Affleck for over 10 years. They've got three children together.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Ended up getting divorced back in 2018 and then he,
- 52:57Speaker 2: of course, famously went back.
- 52:58Speaker 7: To Jennifer Lopez after that. Loves a Jennifer, Ben does.
- 53:02Speaker 7: So like a lot of women.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Jennifer felt the pressure to look after her kids when
- 53:06Speaker 2: they were young, so she had to take a step
- 53:08Speaker 2: back from work. But then when she was off work
- 53:10Speaker 2: looking after her kids, as an actress, she started freaking
- 53:13Speaker 2: out and panicking, thinking, how long am I actually going
- 53:15Speaker 2: to be able to act for? If I take so
- 53:17Speaker 2: much time off, I'm aging, I'm no longer relevant. So
- 53:20Speaker 2: she spoke about that in a new interview.
- 53:22Speaker 17: I panicked when I was first out of my marriage
- 53:26Speaker 17: and realized I had taken such a step back in
- 53:29Speaker 17: my work. Suddenly I realized, like, I don't know how
- 53:31Speaker 17: long I'll be able to work. It's not this isn't
- 53:33Speaker 17: a career that's like, hey, you're 60, you're 55, you're 43.
- 53:37Speaker 17: Come on, let's let's pay you more than you've ever made.
- 53:39Speaker 7: You know what I mean?
- 53:40Speaker 17: That's not been traditionally the role. And I was suddenly like,
- 53:43Speaker 17: wait a minute, I have to. take care of myself.
- 53:46Speaker 17: I have to take care of these kids.
- 53:48Speaker 8: I mean, I suppose women in acting or whatever feel
- 53:50Speaker 8: it anyway. Like, you take time out to do maternity leave.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Us blokes don't even think about.
- 53:54Speaker 13: It, right?
- 53:55Speaker 7: It's the same in the music industry, though, as well.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Like, have you noticed that as soon as any artist
- 53:59Speaker 2: has a kid, their career just becomes less successful?
- 54:02Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 54:03Speaker 4: It's like people want to see them sort of young
- 54:05Speaker 4: and hot and dancing around.
- 54:06Speaker 2: And then I think it's just ingrained into the industry,
- 54:09Speaker 2: even though people don't realise they're discriminating against someone.
- 54:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Subtly doing it.
- 54:13Speaker 2: I wonder what will happen to someone At the scale
- 54:16Speaker 2: of Taylor Swift when she eventually, because she's now married.
- 54:20Speaker 4: As a kid, will her record career take a dive?
- 54:23Speaker 7: But then again, you know what?
- 54:24Speaker 2: When Adele had some of her biggest songs, she was
- 54:26Speaker 2: a mother.
- 54:27Speaker 7: Yeah, but it's... Different style of music.
- 54:29Speaker 4: It is, right? And it's not like going after the
- 54:31Speaker 4: teens or whatever?
- 54:32Speaker 7: Yeah, she was releasing music for mature women.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's like never a dude thing, is it?
- 54:37Speaker 7: No, you guys never have to worry.
- 54:38Speaker 8: No, but there'll be heaps of like dudes, singers in
- 54:41Speaker 8: rock bands and stuff, Sean.
- 54:42Speaker 5: Yeah, it doesn't happen. It's true. It's unfair, but that's
- 54:45Speaker 5: the way it goes. I don't know.
- 54:47Speaker 7: I don't like that it's unfair, but that's the way
- 54:49Speaker 7: it goes.
- 54:49Speaker 8: You can try and change it.
- 54:51Speaker 2: How?
- 54:51Speaker 4: Can't fight the system.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Well, I'm going to try.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to be a working mum. So I'd
- 54:55Speaker 2: like to think that I can do both.
- 54:58Speaker 8: Yeah, have you thought through all the extreme details you're
- 55:01Speaker 8: going to have.
- 55:02Speaker 7: To go through?
- 55:02Speaker 2: No, because I think you can't until you know what
- 55:05Speaker 2: kind of baby you're going to have. Like I could
- 55:07Speaker 2: have a very needy child, which could affect how long
- 55:11Speaker 2: I need to take off work. It's all those things
- 55:13Speaker 2: and it's so specific to everyone's individual situation.
- 55:17Speaker 4: What's the agenda again?
- 55:19Speaker 7: Not telling you. Give it a rest, mate. I'll tell
- 55:21Speaker 7: you soon.
- 55:22Speaker 5: I reckon you'll get it one day.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I said I want to get it by the
- 55:25Speaker 4: end of the show.
- 55:26Speaker 2: I do have baby brain too, so it probably will happen.
- 55:29Speaker 7: What's the gender?
- 55:30Speaker 17: No.
- 55:30Speaker 4: You ask quickly. Gender of your kid?
- 55:32Speaker 7: I'm not telling.
- 55:34Speaker 5: Gender.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Also, massive news yesterday that Bruno Mars is coming to
- 55:39Speaker 2: Australia on the Romantic Tour. So he's going to be
- 55:42Speaker 2: touring Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth in Feb and March
- 55:45Speaker 2: of next year. And he caught up with Kiss's very
- 55:48Speaker 2: own Smallsy and spoke about why he loves fans staying
- 55:51Speaker 2: off their phones during his concerts.
- 55:53Speaker 4: Oh, I agree with that. Here we go.
- 55:55Speaker 12: For people who don't know, you would go into your
- 55:57Speaker 12: show when you were doing the residency and people had
- 55:59Speaker 12: to put their phones in a bag because... you wanted
- 56:01Speaker 12: them to be present and in the moment.
- 56:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:04Speaker 9: And you walk away from.
- 56:05Speaker 12: The show going, that was the best experience of my life.
- 56:09Speaker 12: No distractions, just focused, squared in on stage.
- 56:11Speaker 6: That means the world to me, Smallsy.
- 56:13Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 56:13Speaker 21: I know how people feel about having their phones, but
- 56:17Speaker 21: I feel like there's a magic effect that happens when
- 56:21Speaker 21: you're immersed in a concert or experience that everyone is
- 56:27Speaker 21: with you.
- 56:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:29Speaker 21: You know, I feel like sometimes when the phones come out,
- 56:32Speaker 21: it's like there's a separation.
- 56:35Speaker 5: So being able to.
- 56:36Speaker 21: Have these moments and feeling that is what.
- 56:39Speaker 6: I do it for.
- 56:39Speaker 8: Hey, the full interview is live now on the Smallsy
- 56:43Speaker 8: Show podcast on the free iHeart app.
- 56:45Speaker 4: I've got to say, I agree with him. Not Smallsy.
- 56:48Speaker 8: Well, I agree with Smallsy on many things, but I agree.
- 56:51Speaker 8: with Bruno Mars. Why do you go to a concert
- 56:54Speaker 8: and film it? No one's watching your grainy crap story
- 56:57Speaker 8: on Instagram.
- 56:57Speaker 2: No, I think one story or you weren't there, whether
- 57:00Speaker 2: that be a photo or a video.
- 57:03Speaker 4: Do a photo.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I normally do a photo in all honesty. But
- 57:06Speaker 2: then also when I've done that before because you do
- 57:09Speaker 2: fall victim to it because you see other people or
- 57:10Speaker 2: your favourite song comes on and you're like, oh, my God,
- 57:12Speaker 2: and you film it or another one comes on and
- 57:13Speaker 2: you're like, I forgot about this song. But I have
- 57:15Speaker 2: never in my life watched any video back that I've
- 57:19Speaker 2: ever recorded at a concert.
- 57:20Speaker 8: Right, so you don't watch your own and I don't
- 57:22Speaker 8: think anyone watches anyone's. If you're going to Alex Warren tonight,
- 57:25Speaker 8: he's playing in Sydney.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Phone down.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Yeah, put your phone down.
- 57:27Speaker 8: No one wants to see your grainy Instagram story where
- 57:30Speaker 8: we can barely hear it and there's bloody.
- 57:32Speaker 7: Heads in front of you. And you're singing in the
- 57:34Speaker 7: background and you sound like shit.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Hey, Monday morning. Every single caller who gets on air
- 57:40Speaker 2: with us is going to win tickets to see Bruno
- 57:43Speaker 2: Mars on the romantic tour in our famous Kiss You
- 57:47Speaker 2: Get A Series. So make sure that you are listening
- 57:49Speaker 2: from 6 a.m. Monday morning and you'll be there. I've
- 57:52Speaker 2: been to his concert, by the way. Best one I've
- 57:53Speaker 2: ever been to.
- 57:54Speaker 9: Well, there you go.
- 57:54Speaker 4: And it could be you. I harmonize.
- 57:57Speaker 8: Yeah, you've been singing all morning.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Last calls now. All right, Chris, you're on air. Hello.
- 58:03Speaker 13: Hey, guys. How's it going this morning?
- 58:05Speaker 5: Good, man. Good, Chris.
- 58:06Speaker 7: What did you want to say?
- 58:07Speaker 2: That's good.
- 58:07Speaker 13: Okay, so you were talking about turning off your car
- 58:11Speaker 13: when you're getting fuel and using your phone near the car. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 8: Like, do you have to turn your car off? Because
- 58:17Speaker 8: Nat's fiancé doesn't. And are you allowed to use your phone?
- 58:20Speaker 8: Or is it like a wives' tale that the thing's
- 58:21Speaker 8: going to blow up?
- 58:22Speaker 13: Right. Okay, so when I was a console operator, I
- 58:26Speaker 13: was a console operator for 15 years, I had a
- 58:28Speaker 13: fuel safety book, which was about a half inch thick.
- 58:31Speaker 13: So as far as I'm concerned, as soon as you
- 58:34Speaker 13: come onto the forecourt, And I've actually noticed while I
- 58:37Speaker 13: was working there, I noticed a lot of people lose
- 58:40Speaker 13: 100 points of IQ when they drive onto the forecourt,
- 58:43Speaker 13: which is a bit of a shame because not very
- 58:44Speaker 13: many people have 100 points of IQ to lose.
- 58:47Speaker 2: It's like when you say everyone at the airport acts
- 58:49Speaker 2: like it's their first day on Earth. He must feel
- 58:51Speaker 2: the same at the servo.
- 58:53Speaker 13: Yes, and I mean, so as soon as you come
- 58:55Speaker 13: onto the forecourt, you turn your car off. A lot
- 58:58Speaker 13: of cars, a lot of trucks that I've actually driven,
- 59:00Speaker 13: I'm in logistics now, but a lot of trucks that
- 59:03Speaker 13: I've driven, you can't actually have the engine running because
- 59:06Speaker 13: you need the key to open the cap to put
- 59:08Speaker 13: the fuel in.
- 59:09Speaker 8: But can you answer the question, is it bad and
- 59:12Speaker 8: dangerous if the car is on while you're filling up
- 59:14Speaker 8: with fuel?
- 59:15Speaker 11: 100%.
- 59:16Speaker 13: I won't authorise your pump if I know that your
- 59:20Speaker 13: car's running or you're on the phone.
- 59:22Speaker 4: Okay, there we go.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Oh, yes, because nowadays they basically have to always unlock
- 59:26Speaker 2: the pump, not even just overnight.
- 59:27Speaker 4: Yeah, they can shut it off.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Remember it used to just be overnight when they weren't
- 59:30Speaker 2: always in the servo itself?
- 59:32Speaker 8: And what's the phone going to do? Like, what's wrong
- 59:34Speaker 8: with me having a chat on the phone?
- 59:37Speaker 13: They did this on Mythbusters. Did you notice on the
- 59:39Speaker 13: Mythbusters channel, they had the phone inside this area. No
- 59:43Speaker 13: one was touching it or anything, and they called it. Okay,
- 59:46Speaker 13: so as soon as you touch your phone, you are
- 59:48Speaker 13: creating a spark.
- 59:50Speaker 19: Even if only tiny.
- 59:51Speaker 13: When you're talking fuel vapour, you're sitting on tens of
- 59:55Speaker 13: thousands of litres of motorised spirit. Have a guess what
- 59:59Speaker 13: happens when you add a spark to that.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: It goes black.
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: He sounds like Husey. He's so angry. Thank you, Chris.
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: We appreciate your call.
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: Shannon, you wanted to comment on servos too, yeah?
- 1:00:12Speaker 20: Yeah, yeah. My father-in-law, he used to make me, when
- 1:00:16Speaker 20: you fill up the potential, he would pull into the
- 1:00:19Speaker 20: park before paying.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Pull into the what?
- 1:00:21Speaker 20: And then go into pay. Pull into the parking spot.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: Oh, what a good guy.
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: Because we were saying one of the things that annoys
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: people is you're too slow to move on from the pump.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: No one else can get in. So he would fill up,
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: then he'd go pull into a car spot to pay.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:00:35Speaker 20: Yep, to pay in case somebody else wanted to use
- 1:00:37Speaker 20: the pump. You know what?
- 1:00:38Speaker 7: If it's really busy, everyone should do that.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Yeah, what a good guy. Although they'd probably think you're
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: doing a runner.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: Yeah, I've noticed they think that.
- 1:00:44Speaker 18: I've never been able to do it.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't do it?
- 1:00:47Speaker 20: No, I freak out because I'm like, no, they're thinking
- 1:00:50Speaker 20: I'm driving away or something.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: They would think that.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Because even when I have gotten back in the car before,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: because I'm like, oh, my wallet's like on the floor
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: of the thing, I'll notice they always look out.
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: And I'm like, you've got cameras everywhere. You're going to
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: get me. I'm not that dumb.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: Has anyone ever filled up and just drove off because
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: you forgot?
- 1:01:05Speaker 18: No.
- 1:01:06Speaker 20: No.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: You could do.
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: You know what I did?
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: I did an accidental restaurant run the other day.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Oh, you ate and laughed.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: So me and my partner were eating. We had breakfast
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: and then we ran into a friend and stood up,
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: started talking to him, blah, blah, blah, got distracted and went,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: all right, anyway, see ya, and just walked away.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: And then he called me and said, hey, you just
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: did a runner. And I was like, oh, my God.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: He's like, don't worry.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Don't come back. I'll pay and you transfer to me.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: And I'm like, I bet you that bastard took the
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: credit and was like, I'll just pay for them.
- 1:01:33Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: He did not.
- 1:01:34Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: So now I'm scared to go back there in case
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: they think I did a proper runner.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: It could happen.
- 1:01:38Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:01:39Speaker 8: That is it for the week. We're getting out of
- 1:01:41Speaker 8: here tomorrow. It's Saturday.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: So enjoy the weekend.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: But Monday, every single caller on air wins tickets to
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Bruno Mars in our famous Kiss You Getter. series so
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: make sure you are listening 6 to 9 a.m monday
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: morning to get yourself tickets have a
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: Good weekend then we'll see you monday goodbye
