- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the very windy chicken coop.
- 0:31So if you hear some wind in the background, yes, it it is
- 0:34definitely very, very windy this morning.
- 0:37So today we have a Turkish proverb we're going to read.
- 0:41And I want to make it very clear to everybody, I am not doing
- 0:44this as a political statement. I am doing this because it's
- 0:48good. In our life overall.
- 0:50When we are dealing with humans, we are often being swayed one
- 0:54way or another. As you've heard me say,
- 0:56influence happens constantly. Whether it's from my chickens
- 1:00influencing me to give them snacks, or my dogs or humans, it
- 1:04doesn't matter. Influence happens constantly.
- 1:07So this Turkish proverb really does sit in that realm and
- 1:11that's why we are reading it today.
- 1:13So here it goes. The forest was shrinking, but
- 1:17the trees kept voting for the axe.
- 1:19For the axe was clever and convincing to the trees that
- 1:22because his handle was made of wood, he was one of them.
- 1:27Wow, isn't that so profound. When I read that, I was like,
- 1:31that is just killer because it's just such an insight into the
- 1:38styles of manipulation that are used everywhere on us all the
- 1:42time. And it's not just, you know,
- 1:44people will ask me, do you think it's gotten worse over the
- 1:47years? No, I don't.
- 1:48I think there has been, there's more access because of social
- 1:52media and phones and technology, but it hasn't gotten worse in
- 1:55the sense that people are doing it and they've always done it.
- 1:59They've it was just a slower process before.
- 2:01What's happened now is it's just faster.
- 2:03It can happen faster that we are manipulated and influenced
- 2:08quicker. But this is such a great 1 based
- 2:11on the fact that it's very clear that when someone tells you
- 2:15they're like you, I'm like you, and you know they're not like
- 2:21you. You know, they're not like you
- 2:22in many senses of the words and they're trying to say things to
- 2:27you to influence you, but you know you would never do those
- 2:31things. Then are they really like you?
- 2:34So the question you have to ask yourself is who am I?
- 2:38You have to be very clear, very staunch on the core principles
- 2:45that you choose to believe in yourself.
- 2:46Now, that does not mean you're immovable.
- 2:48That does not mean that you don't take on things and learn
- 2:51from things. It what it does mean, though, is
- 2:53that you have a very high sense of awareness for yourself.
- 2:57So you know wholeheartedly that you do not need to be influenced
- 3:03in certain areas that, you know, this is what my core belief is.
- 3:07I'm very, very clear on my core beliefs.
- 3:09So, so for instance, my animals get treated a certain way
- 3:12because I have respect for the souls that animals are.
- 3:16I, I mean, I don't look at them just like they're the, the lowly
- 3:19chicken and they're just meant to be on a plate at all.
- 3:24I don't have that. I don't think things should be
- 3:25treated with disrespect or be handled improperly.
- 3:29I, I, it, it physically hurts my heart with the way I am wired at
- 3:35the core of my being, which is why I come out here and I do
- 3:38this with them in the morning and they're spoiled having their
- 3:42shredded zucchinis and bananas and whatever else they're
- 3:45having. Yesterday they had pasta.
- 3:47Doesn't matter. Whatever it is that they're
- 3:48having, I make sure that they are loved and shown care, shown
- 3:55deep affection every single solitary day.
- 3:59And that's important to the core of my being.
- 4:01That's important to the person that I choose to be.
- 4:04So that's why we're having this conversation this morning is
- 4:08because that proverb really reminds you that you have to
- 4:12know if you're going to be in an association with the handle of
- 4:17the axe, then you really have to pay attention to the fact that,
- 4:21OK, just because it says it's like me doesn't necessarily mean
- 4:26that I am aligned at the core of who I am.
- 4:29At the surface, there may be things where we are aligned, but
- 4:32are you at your core, the person that I want to align with?
- 4:37And that's where we have to pay attention.
- 4:39Go deep inside yourself and say, who am I at my core?
- 4:43And do I align with those things all the time?
- 4:46Because sometimes we have to bring ourselves back and say, am
- 4:48I really aligning with who I choose to be at my core?
- 4:52It's hard, my friends, to constantly say, hey, listen,
- 4:55I'm, I'm really aligned to who I am.
- 4:58And we forget and we retract because we get wounded in this
- 5:01world and we retract and we say, oh, I'm not going to, you know,
- 5:05let's say you donated to a charity and then you found out
- 5:07charities take the money and use it for something else.
- 5:10Therefore, now I will never donate to another charity.
- 5:13Well, at your core, you want to give and you decide not to give
- 5:17because of that. So when you check back in and
- 5:20you go, you know what? I miss giving.
- 5:22I miss doing things. OK, then fix that.
- 5:25Find someone that you know you can give to and feel good about
- 5:29it. You know, that's the important
- 5:30thing. Like, I don't, I don't sell
- 5:33these eggs in this chicken coop, but I give them all away and I
- 5:36give them to people like first responders.
- 5:38I give them to the fire department, Police Department.
- 5:41I give them to my chiropractor. I give them to the girls to come
- 5:44and help me take care of the farm.
- 5:45I do all of that and I do it because it makes me feel good.
- 5:50Selling them wouldn't make me feel good.
- 5:52That makes me feel good. All right, my friends, go out
- 5:55there and remember the proverb. Please remember the proverb.
- 5:59And I will see you all tomorrow and I hope you have a blessed
- 6:02day. Bye.
