- 0:00Speaker 1: I was, has occurred to me this morning. I was
- 0:04thinking about Gina this morning before I came to work,
- 0:08and I know Gina's having you know, everybody's having kind
- 0:12of a as Jimmy Kimmel was just talking about, you know,
- 0:14having kind of a down time. So many of us
- 0:17are feeling down, and how to how could how could
- 0:20I raise Gina's spirits a little bit? And I was,
- 0:25I was getting into the refrigerator and I and I
- 0:28got out this stick of salted butter, and I I thought,
- 0:34you know, you know Gina was saying just the other day,
- 0:39sometime Wednesday, I think it was, she said, salted butter.
- 0:42I wish I wish I could convince my husband to
- 0:46let me have salted butter. And I thought, you know,
- 0:51you know, Gina, you I think that your husband, I,
- 0:56as I understand, is a wonderful man. He's a caring person,
- 1:03he's the best, he's one flaw, he's a sweet person.
- 1:07And I just can't, I can't, I can't. I can't
- 1:10even fathom that he would say if you said, can
- 1:14we honey, Joe, dear sweetie, my love, can we can
- 1:20we have salted butter? On? I can't picture that he
- 1:23would go, No, there is no salted butter on the table.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I have never I have never asked what he never
- 1:30because if I did, you're right, you know.
- 1:33Speaker 1: What he's gonna do. He's gonna do, Honey. I had
- 1:37no idea that this you wanted salted butter so much.
- 1:42You know, I think you should.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Ask, and I think you should insist on the good stuff.
- 1:47Carry gold, you should, you should.
- 1:50Speaker 2: He buys the carry gold, he just gets the unsalted.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I got to talk to the carry Gold people about
- 1:56stop making the unsalted butter.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So, Gina, if you would like, if you would like
- 2:01me to call him, I'd be happy to do it.
- 2:04And he likes me for he likes me. We we've
- 2:07chatted and if I said, you know, I said, Joe,
- 2:11you're probably or I'd probably say, doctor Jones, you're probably
- 2:14not even aware of this.
- 2:16Speaker 4: It's uh it's my birthday this weekend. So maybe as
- 2:22a gift for my birthday.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I took this big hunk of salted butter out of
- 2:28the refrigerator this morning, as hard as a ry, you know,
- 2:32and I thought Gina should be here right now and
- 2:35share some toast with me.
- 2:38Speaker 4: It's uh, so you don't.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I should have brought you a piece of toast out
- 2:41to the car.
- 2:42Speaker 4: You don't leave the butter on the counter to be
- 2:44soft to spread on the toast.
- 2:46Speaker 1: You got it, well, yeah, but but but if.
- 2:49Speaker 4: You're out of counter butter, yeah, you keep it in
- 2:52the refrigerator until then you run.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And I should have noticed that the that the butter
- 2:57crock was empty, and I got it out.
- 3:00Speaker 3: My wife is shocked. She goes, I'm better than Joe.
- 3:02I caved a salted butter years.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Ago because he because your wife is the type of
- 3:07person who would say, we don't need salted butter. You
- 3:09add it in the recipe or whatever.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Now, no, you need to see the butter.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It's not a butter dish, but the thing that holds
- 3:17the butter that Sue got the crock. Well, it's okay,
- 3:21here's a it's a cup, okay, And then there's another
- 3:25cup that goes inside of the cup. Now you put
- 3:27water in the bottom of the big cup, and you
- 3:30put butter inside the cup that goes down on top.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Hey, what's the point of the water.
- 3:36Speaker 3: It keeps a seal so that it doesn't you know,
- 3:39it's not exposed to the air. It's it's room temperature,
- 3:43but it's not exposed to the air.
- 3:45Speaker 1: So if you're so, if there are, because butter can
- 3:47become contaminated with with particularly with odors, exactly like it
- 3:52taste the butter and you go, well, there's been cotton
- 3:54onions around this butter.
- 3:55Speaker 3: But because there's a water seal on this, it's room temperature,
- 3:59but it's not exposed.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I have not a see. Now, maybe I've got to
- 4:04convince my wife. She she's always been just a We
- 4:07have that plastic butter tray tradition, the plastic top on it,
- 4:12and I you know, I've always wanted a butter.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Croc Well, you know, we have the camel butter dish,
- 4:18which has been much.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. That should you should have salted and.
- 4:22Speaker 3: You're putting that inferior unsalted butter inside of this wonderful dish.
- 4:27Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, and I'm sure this exists.
- 4:29I think you should have camel butter, actual actual from
- 4:33camel milk, salted camel butter. I'll bet it's great. But
- 4:39you know, I we we stop at the I like
- 4:43the carry gold, yeah, but we we just we go
- 4:46with the costco and we and we buy salted and
- 4:49unsalted butter. Now a chef that I know, or he's
- 4:54a cooking expert, has the empire the Cook's illustrated guy.
- 4:59He says, it's just I just use salted butter in
- 5:02my red in my baking and recipes. The little bit
- 5:05of salt that's in it doesn't make a damn bit
- 5:08of difference. Okay, exactly using salted butter for baking and
- 5:12that sort of thing.
- 5:12Speaker 3: It's just kind of Oh, it's called a butterbell, the thing.
- 5:16Oh so look up butter Okay, see what I'm talking.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I might I might get one of those butter things.
- 5:22Speaker 1: You can still get molds, not at.
- 5:23Speaker 3: The rate that I go through.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're using it, maybe I'll just maybe I'll
- 5:28just get one and say we're using this from now.
- 5:32Speaker 4: You're you're the man of the house. You can make
- 5:34such proclamation.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah, right, So you got it at Spoons and Spice.
- 5:38Speaker 4: So, okay, okay, a butter bell.
- 5:40Speaker 2: But I'm looking I'm looking it up right. It's you know,
- 5:43we got Christmas coming up. That could be a good Christmas.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I just thought that would raise your spirits.
- 5:48Speaker 3: You you get some good bread at the Bakery.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'll call him if you.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Want but toaster oven with the butter and.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Oh it's just a wonderful thing.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Okay, butter Oh there you go.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Oh they're cute too, Yes.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Adorable, Well they better be if they're called butter.

- 6:12and emeralds. Sure.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the chat room is found the Anatomy of

- 6:21Speaker 1: The original Butterbell croc. Here I've got yeah, there you go,
- 6:24oh from the Butterbell Company. Exactly, shop all of our crocs,
- 6:28it says, shop. Well, there's here's a butter crock that
- 6:31shaped like a croc. Like a shoe, Like a shoe.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I don't want a shoe.
