- 0:00Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Marc Simone? Three! The
- 0:04Speaker 1: Marc Simone Show, now nine till noon weekdays, 710WOR. Well,
- 0:11Speaker 1: big speech yesterday, Netanyahu at the UN, phenomenal speech, we'll
- 0:15Speaker 1: play you parts of it a little later. Hey, and
- 0:17Speaker 1: good news, the IDF, the Israeli Defense Force, killed a
- 0:22Speaker 1: major Hamas commander yesterday, a guy who had held seven
- 0:27Speaker 1: Israeli hostages in the A tunnel in Gaza. The Israeli
- 0:31Speaker 1: Defense Forces said on Thursday they had eliminated, killed Mahmoud
- 0:36Speaker 1: Abdel Fattah Awad, a Hamas commander. This is the guy
- 0:41Speaker 1: that held seven hostages in a Gaza tunnel during the war.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Killed in an airstrike in Gaza City. Well, good for
- 0:48Speaker 1: the IDF. Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:50Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 0:59Speaker 1: You remember Butler, Pennsylvania, the assassination attempt. Donald Trump hit
- 1:04Speaker 1: in the ear. And you remember the crazed shooter, Thomas
- 1:08Speaker 1: Matthew Crooks, fired a bunch of shots. Luckily, Trump turned
- 1:13Speaker 1: his head. They missed him. One hit his ear, but
- 1:15Speaker 1: the others missed him. But one hit a guy behind
- 1:18Speaker 1: him and killed him. And another guy was hit with
- 1:21Speaker 1: a bullet. It was taken to the hospital. He was
- 1:24Speaker 1: just wounded. Only wounded in that failed assassination attempt, but
- 1:31Speaker 1: he died yesterday. He passed away. He was apparently wounded
- 1:35Speaker 1: badly enough that it took a long time, but he
- 1:38Speaker 1: died yesterday. He's in his mid-70s. His name was James
- 1:42Speaker 1: Copenhaver of Coropolis, Pennsylvania. Wounded in the assassination attempt and
- 1:50Speaker 1: died yesterday. Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to
- 1:54Speaker 1: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yes, Mike.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I love these actresses, you know, Susan Sarandon and the
- 2:04Speaker 2: rest of them, going out there, you know, once they
- 2:08Speaker 2: become completely irrelevant, and they try to look smart by
- 2:11Speaker 2: thinking that, by protesting the most liberal state in the world, perhaps, Israel,
- 2:17Speaker 2: that they're going to somehow make an impact. You know,
- 2:21Speaker 2: talk about artificial intelligence. These actresses are the exemplars of it. But,
- 2:27Speaker 2: you know, it's ironic because Israel literally is one of
- 2:30Speaker 2: the most liberal states. I mean, they treat women, nobody
- 2:32Speaker 2: treats women better than they do in Israel. And these
- 2:34Speaker 2: are all feminists, as they proclaim. I mean, let Susan
- 2:38Speaker 2: Sarandon go to Gaza, see how she gets treated there.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Maybe her career will get a rebound.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, very good point. Nobody worse to women than people
- 2:47Speaker 1: in Gaza. Nobody better to women than Israel. And they
- 2:51Speaker 1: hate it because it's a democracy. It's a real democracy.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It's a real open.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I mean, they employ more, you know, they employ Gazans
- 3:00Speaker 2: in Israel. I mean, up until a certain point, maybe
- 3:03Speaker 2: not anymore. I mean, and also there's 19 other Arab
- 3:07Speaker 2: states and none of them support Gaza.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Which is interesting.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I mean, nobody ever asked that question. Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 1: No, listen, anti-Semitism is always based on absolute stupidity, anger, rage, hatred.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's not based on anything logical of any kind, but
- 3:22Speaker 1: good call, Mike. Thanks for calling. Let's go to, uh,
- 3:24Speaker 1: Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy, how you doing?
- 3:29Speaker 3: Good morning. I want everybody to notice that you're true
- 3:31Speaker 3: to your word that you were going to, uh, be
- 3:34Speaker 3: here on Fridays in the fall. I appreciate that very much.
- 3:38Speaker 1: All I did in the summer, mostly August, is take
- 3:42Speaker 1: Fridays off. You know, I got all these weeks of vacation.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I don't like to take a whole week at a time.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So instead of taking a week, I.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Take every Friday. But people, for some reason, people are panicking.
- 3:55Speaker 3: But I love, you know, I want to tell you,
- 3:56Speaker 3: I love Jimmy Fallon so much. So much. And I
- 4:00Speaker 3: just want to say, Mark, that you had the perfect
- 4:03Speaker 3: Jimmy Fallon moment.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Jimmy Fallon. Fallon. Fallon.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yes, I know. You said, I fell over laughing like
- 4:12Speaker 3: I do when I'm listening to him. He needs to
- 4:14Speaker 3: steal this line. You said that the guy was so far,
- 4:18Speaker 3: as far left as your salad fork.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Well, Jimmy Fallon, one of the funniest comedians.
- 4:26Speaker 1: He's on here every night, nine to midnight. You ever
- 4:28Speaker 1: watch his Saturday night show, Fox News Channel, 10 o'clock?
- 4:32Speaker 3: I do. I do.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Best monologue in television. He's brilliant.
- 4:37Speaker 3: His jackets kill me.
- 4:40Speaker 1: All right. I wouldn't steal his wardrobe, but it's perfect
- 4:43Speaker 1: for him.
- 4:44Speaker 3: But you stole that line. That was a great one.
- 4:47Speaker 3: You need to take credit for that one. I know
- 4:49Speaker 3: I didn't deliver it as well as you did, but
- 4:52Speaker 3: it was hysterical. I've never heard that line before.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah. What do you do down there in North Carolina?
- 4:58Speaker 3: And by the way, it's very impressive that you know
- 5:01Speaker 3: where the salad fork is. That was the whole point.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Oh, okay. You know what? People aren't sure which fork
- 5:07Speaker 1: to use. Grab whatever fork you want. Who the hell cares?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Take any fork you want.
- 5:12Speaker 3: No, but the salad fork is the farthest on the left.
- 5:15Speaker 3: You're correct. And I try to always tell people that
- 5:18Speaker 3: all the time.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I know. But what the hell is it? Take any
- 5:20Speaker 1: fork you want. What happens if you don't use the
- 5:24Speaker 1: smallest fork for the salad? Oh, you used a bigger fork.
- 5:26Speaker 3: That's.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Take whatever fork. Bring your own fork. Don't even touch
- 5:30Speaker 1: their stuff.
- 5:31Speaker 3: But I also, if we have a minute, I want
- 5:33Speaker 3: to implore you again that somehow I would love to
- 5:37Speaker 3: read your Instagram feed, but somehow I got blocked and
- 5:40Speaker 3: it could not have been but by mistake. because I
- 5:45Speaker 3: never did anything, and I'm missing you on Instagram.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah, people always say that. The only way you get
- 5:49Speaker 1: blocked is if you put up an inappropriate comment.
- 5:51Speaker 3: That's not true, Mark. I know every comment I ever made.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Well, one of them was either not relevant to whatever
- 5:57Speaker 1: the post was, or it was attacking somebody. No political anything.
- 6:03Speaker 3: No, it definitely wasn't. We have common friends. We've worked
- 6:07Speaker 3: at the same stations together separately, of course.
- 6:10Speaker 1: We did? What station did we work at together?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Pro, but not together.
- 6:15Speaker 1: W-P-R-O, Providence. Oh, okay.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I do not remember my gangster story about Pro-FM when
- 6:22Speaker 3: I first worked there.
- 6:23Speaker 1: There was a gangster? P-R-O-F-M is the big, like the
- 6:26Speaker 1: Z-100 of Rhode Island.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Yes.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And what happened?
- 6:29Speaker 3: So I worked on the FM side, and there was
- 6:32Speaker 3: a man there when I first started who escorted me in,
- 6:35Speaker 3: and he looked, he was huge, and I thought, oh,
- 6:37Speaker 3: this is so nice, he's escorting me. And it turns
- 6:40Speaker 3: out he was the bodyguard for the mayor. Oh.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Buddy Cianci, he did a radio show there on
- 6:47Speaker 1: the weekends.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Yes, and it was terrifying. The guy was like, I
- 6:52Speaker 3: couldn't believe it. Every time I got there, there was
- 6:54Speaker 3: like armed guards. And when I figured out it was
- 6:57Speaker 3: a mafia connection, it just completely freaked me out. It
- 6:59Speaker 3: took me a minute to figure it out.
- 7:01Speaker 1: You know, when I worked there on the AM, which
- 7:03Speaker 1: was the big station in New England, there was a
- 7:07Speaker 1: gangster working there. He was a weekend host. Oh, I'm sure. Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 1: I don't want to mention his name. I think he's dead.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I'm sure he's dead. But he was a gangster during
- 7:16Speaker 1: the week and a DJ on the weekend. And everybody
- 7:19Speaker 1: was very cautious around him.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Oh, I thought you were talking about the mayor. No, no, no.
- 7:24Speaker 3: This was an actual Providence.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Gangster who worked there. And there were all kinds of
- 7:29Speaker 1: jokes about he's not only playing the hits, he's doing
- 7:31Speaker 1: the hits or something like that.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Anyway, I'm sure you have some minions there like Chris
- 7:36Speaker 3: or somebody who's fabulous that could help me figure out why...
- 7:40Speaker 3: I can't get you on Instagram.
- 7:43Speaker 1: You got blocked because you put up a comment.
- 7:45Speaker 3: No, I didn't.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That's the only way you could get blocked. Anyway, send
- 7:50Speaker 1: me an email. Go to my website, MarkSimone.com. Hit the
- 7:54Speaker 1: email button. I'll get to it, and we'll look in
- 7:56Speaker 1: to see why you got blocked. Okay. Nope, she went away.
- 8:01Speaker 1: What happened? All right. Thanks. One more call? Yeah, let's
- 8:05Speaker 1: go to Carl in Middletown, New Jersey. Carl?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, how you doing?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Hey, next time you call, could you try to have
- 8:14Speaker 1: more noise? You don't have enough noise behind you.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 8:19Speaker 1: For everybody listening, when you call, make sure there's a
- 8:21Speaker 1: lot of noise behind you and be 50 feet away
- 8:23Speaker 1: from the phone. That's what we like. I'm on Bluetooth.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I'm sorry. What would CNN waiting to see if we turned.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Up all the TVs in the airport? I can't understand
- 8:34Speaker 1: one word you're saying. What is it with the Bluetooth?
- 8:36Speaker 1: You know, there's like 4 million people listening. That's not
- 8:39Speaker 1: enough to get you to pick up the phone and
- 8:41Speaker 1: actually talk into it. How many do we have to
- 8:42Speaker 1: have listening before you'll actually hold the phone?
- 8:45Speaker 2: Is that better?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Much better. Now we can hear you.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I apologize to everyone listening.
- 8:51Speaker 2: What would CNN's ratings be if we turned off all
- 8:53Speaker 2: the TVs in the airports?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Well, it doesn't really affect their ratings. You know, that's
- 8:59Speaker 1: a good point you brought up. A lot of people say,
- 9:00Speaker 1: how come every airport, why do they only show CNN
- 9:03Speaker 1: in the airport? They pay for that. There's a company
- 9:06Speaker 1: that runs all the airport TVs in America, and you
- 9:10Speaker 1: pay them to put your channel on. And that's why
- 9:12Speaker 1: CNN does that. Now you say, well, why didn't Fox
- 9:14Speaker 1: pay them? Fox doesn't need to. Fox has huge ratings.
- 9:17Speaker 1: CNN pays for that. It's a form of advertising. So
- 9:21Speaker 1: that's actually paid for. It's not the airport's. decision hey
- 9:25Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to i'm here now
- 9:26Speaker 1: three hours every day nine to noon every day then
- 9:29Speaker 1: of course at noon buck sexton and clay travis and
- 9:33Speaker 1: uh we'll we'll we got to talk about that show
- 9:36Speaker 1: we'll do it in a little while coming up on
- 9:38Speaker 1: 7 10 w o r
