- 0:04Hi I'm Pete Smith and you're tuned to compass point A verse
- 0:07today is Acts 12 verse 5. Peter therefore was kept in
- 0:10prison, but prayer was made without ceasing of the church
- 0:14unto God for him. Sizzler Baxter comments but
- 0:17prayer. These two little words mark the
- 0:19turning point in a critical situation.
- 0:21On the one hand there is a hostile world attacking the
- 0:24church. On the other is a beleaguered
- 0:26church praying without ceasing. Above them both is is a prayer
- 0:30answering God who intervenes and overrules.
- 0:33Peter was imprisoned, bound with chains, due for trial the next
- 0:37day. Over against all that was just
- 0:39this, but prayer. The result?
- 0:41Angels to the rescue. Chains broken, prison doors
- 0:44opened, Peter delivered, Herod struck dead.
- 0:47The one who imprisoned Peter while the Word of God grew and
- 0:51multiplied. Let us never undervalue the
- 0:53power of prayer.
