NorthWestern Energy is turning up the thrill on West Rosebud Creek with big whitewater releases—perfect for rafters and kayakers—scheduled for July 4, 5, 11, and 18. Each release dumps 500 cfs for five hours, peaking around noon and lasting two and a half hours. Sign up at the Emerald Lake boat launch for safety, and while Pine Grove Campground is closed for tree work, Emerald Lake Campground stays open.
