- 0:00All right, everybody, Thursday night, the twin one 50s, man,
- 0:05it's been awesome. Dale Junior, Justin Algar,
- 0:10they're a highlight. And then just now for the second
- 0:14duel, what an incredible finish. The wrecking.
- 0:18They throw the caution and they go OK at the caution.
- 0:23Austin Sandrick was leading the race.
- 0:27Eric Jones had already went to Victory Lane.
- 0:32Eric Jones was already on the front straightaway.
- 0:35I'm the winner. Yay.
- 0:37Nope. Hold the dough.
- 0:41I'm just like all you. I'm like, man, oh, man, you
- 0:44know, this is like a Rubik's Cube.
- 0:50You know, for one action, there's another reaction, right?
- 0:55All this started 100 years ago. For all of you fans that have
- 1:00been around a long time, all of this caution flag, where are you
- 1:06at? It all started when Dale Jarrett
- 1:09at Loudon, New Hampshire spun out off of turn 4.
- 1:14And back then we used to race back to the start finish line
- 1:17and they said no more of that. So I I hear you all.
- 1:22You're like, this is stupid. But I just told you when all
- 1:27this started years ago, they said we can no longer have Dale
- 1:34Jarrett spun out in the racetrack and everybody racing
- 1:37around him. What we're going to do now is
- 1:40we're going to put lines everywhere.
- 1:42We're going to put cameras that way when the caution comes out,
- 1:45everybody let's off the gas. So I just reminded you of why
- 1:50this has happened. I know you're upset that Eric
- 1:54Jones here we go. There it is.
- 1:57Yeah. So right.
- 1:59There's when they threw the caution and the two of Austin
- 2:02Sendrick is in the lead, right. But when you go to the when you
- 2:07go to the. Here we are.
- 2:09OK, so the cautions out right there.
- 2:11Watch cautions out. Cautions out right there.
- 2:16Cautions out. It's clear as day.
- 2:19Cautions out. Austin Sendrick is leading the
- 2:21race. They go 1/2 a football field
- 2:25down and you know, Eric Jones, you know, crosses the line
- 2:30first. So anyway, as old Larry Max
- 2:33said, I think we beat that with a dead horse like a dead horse.
- 2:37All right, congratulations. Congratulations to Corey Lajoie.
- 2:42I don't like the show the TV screen too much because Charlie
- 2:46get mad at me. Charlie said, Herman, we get in
- 2:48trouble. I said, Charlie, we not get in
- 2:50trouble. NASCAR is the only one that
- 2:53would get mad at me if I did that.
- 2:55And they're all my friends. So we can get away with showing
- 2:57it every once in a while. It's OK, Charlie, you can post
- 3:01this. Corey Lejoy finished 6th.
- 3:04He's locked in the Daytona 500. Before I get to the biggest
- 3:10story, which is Dale Junior, Justin Agar, let me just say
- 3:14this. What an incredible.
- 3:19What an incredible night it was. I said back at Bowman Gray that
- 3:26this was the best start for NASCAR ever, and I still think
- 3:33they follow up with the best start to their NASCAR season
- 3:39ever. I mean, we basically had two
- 3:43photo finishes, both dual, one 50s were awesome.
- 3:48OK, I know a lot of you wanted Eric Jones to win because a #43
- 3:55has not won a twin since 1977, Richard Petty.
- 3:59But just forget about that for a minute.
- 4:02Both races were incredible, All right.
- 4:05And Dale Junior. Dale Junior was giddy happy.
- 4:10I've never I've never seen Dale Junior as happy as he was when
- 4:16Justin Oggart and his car made its way into the starting field
- 4:24for the Daytona 500. Now respond right here.
- 4:28Didn't that make you happy? Let's see where this right can.
- 4:31Well, I'm not going to show all of the 22.
- 4:34Moved up a little bit. There we go.
- 4:38The 80. Who was that?
- 4:40Maybe Shane van Gisbergen. Somebody got to turn, all right?
- 4:45Anyway, all hell broke loose at that second duel and a lot of
- 4:50unnecessary wrecking, which was a bummer, but that's just kind
- 4:54of the way it goes. They get to block it and
- 4:56everything. Here we go.
- 4:59Charlie ain't going to get that There It was that 88.
- 5:02That 88 got turned. So all right, let's break it
- 5:06down. The highlight of the night, no
- 5:11doubt in my mind. Dale Earnhardt junior being so
- 5:16happy. Just euphoria and Dale Junior
- 5:19says, I love NASCAR. This is this is awesome.
- 5:24And and then they go to the Media Center, right?
- 5:27They go to the Media Center and and this is kind of hard for me
- 5:30to say everybody, but I'm just going to say what they said.
- 5:37Eric Jones, I feel bad for Eric Jones.
- 5:42He crossed the start finish line first but didn't get to win.
- 5:46They're interviewing him now. Eric's, Eric's awesome.
- 5:49OK, so they get to the Media Center with Dale Junior and they
- 5:53said, Junior, this racetrack took your father's life.
- 5:59Dale Junior said. It wasn't the racetrack that
- 6:04took my dad's life. And I'm sure my dad would still
- 6:07like Daytona. And I've I'm at peace with
- 6:12Daytona. Boy, that's heavy.
- 6:16That's very heavy. I really believe that this, this
- 6:21whole combination of everything going good at Bowman Gray, we
- 6:27get to Daytona. I mean, look at these finishes.
- 6:31I mean, what, what, what can we complain about?
- 6:35They're they're two and three wide finishes.
- 6:38These are two and three wide finishes.
- 6:40You got Jimmy Johnson in the race seven time champ.
- 6:43You got Dale Junior talking about how happy, how exciting it
- 6:48is Martin Truex is in the race. All's well that ends well.
- 6:57So let's play devil's advocate here.
- 7:01Join me, why don't you? What did we not like?
- 7:07What did we not like? I mean, it would only have to be
- 7:12that they went by the rules, right?
- 7:15So the only thing you can be mad about the whole night is when
- 7:21the caution flag fell, Syndrick was in the lead that that's all
- 7:30you can be mad about. But but they showed you, they
- 7:34showed it to you. So for all that collectively,
- 7:37everybody respond right here. Now listen, we're going to do
- 7:39coffee with Kenny tomorrow. Coffee with Kenny tomorrow is
- 7:42going to be about Dale Junior. All about Dale Junior.
- 7:46I got a lot to say about that. So, all right, that's my
- 7:50breakdown for the twin one 50s respond right here.
- 7:53I don't. I think my headline here is
- 7:57NASCAR is still off to its best start in 30 years.
- 8:03OK, somebody said no, 2006 was awesome.
- 8:07But I'm just going to say, look, I'm going to say when Dale
- 8:10Senior passed away, that was the last of the good days.
- 8:16However, the height of NASCAR was 2006.
- 8:22That's when the biggest crowds were.
- 8:24That's a fact. That's a little known deal right
- 8:27there. The height of NASCAR was 2006.
- 8:32All right, everybody, I still think NASCAR is off to its best
- 8:36start in a long time. Respond right here.
- 8:39What a there's Kim again. She walking all around the
- 8:42house. She talking, all walking all
- 8:44around the house. All right, well, I think that's
- 8:48it. Daytona 500 starting field is
- 8:50set. The Daytona 500 will be this
- 8:54Sunday. Until then, we got the truck
- 8:56race tomorrow night. Friday night, we got the Xfinity
- 9:00race. Saturday.
- 9:03NASCAR has started and NASCAR has not failed to deliver the
- 9:10goods. It's been exciting.
- 9:12It's been exciting. All right, everybody, respond
- 9:14right here. Goodnight everyone.
