- 0:17[SPEAKER_02]: Bill's Mafia, what's going on?
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's Dave Myers, owner and founder of built-in Buffalo.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Today, I am joined by my guy, Peter Dbiasi.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: Happy Thanksgiving post.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thanksgiving weekend to you, Peter Dbiasi, and also, it's a little bit later in the day, but happy victory money to you.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: How you doing, man?
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing good, I'm doing good.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: We were talking off air how good the Thanksgiving games were.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: Those three games that were on Thanksgiving and looking off their grate, because there's some years you get some duds and it stinks when there's duds, when there's nothing else to watch football-wise.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: So that was great.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, victory Monday, I know the bills had nice little bit of a roll-coaster kind of victory yesterday, not in the sense of the final score, but more on how they played especially offensively.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like I always say, and I think you always say this anytime you win a game in NFL, you kind of have to chalk it up as a win and you move on.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: There's no style point that's not college football, but yeah, obviously it was definitely an up and down game, but after the Houston loss, I think any type of win was needed.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: So, what was your expectations?
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: The bill said 10 days off, obviously coming off that dud against the Texans were Josh Allen was hit, I believe, 12 times, 12 or 13 times a sec.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: like seemingly on every drive.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: What were your expectations going into yesterday's game as far as, all right, Spencer Brown's out.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Dean Dawkins is out.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: Joshua Palmer's out, Dalton can cades out.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, what are we going to do?
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, we all know about the injuries on the defensive side.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: So what were your expectations going into yesterday's game?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll kind of run through the game.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of afraid we were kind of going to get a Houston 2.0 in the sense offensively they were going to struggle to pass the ball and if the running game wasn't working which it did work but if it wasn't going to work you were going to have a Houston type of game where the team sells out for the run that they'll struggle to run the ball and then Josh Allen is either running for his wife holding the ball too long while no one else is getting open down down the field.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: But there were still not a lot of people openly, mainly receivers, opened down field.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: So it was a little bit like a Houston game, which just Alan was only sacked zero time, so he was not sacked.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: and they ran the ball really well.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, but yeah, heading into the game, I was like, this is a problem because I thought, if you mentioned Dawkins and Brown both being out, I would not being able to protect himself, they were gonna struggle through there.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And they struggled through there once again, but it was a little bit of a different style of game and credit to the bills.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Offensively, they were able to run the ball and be efficient enough to run the ball to obviously lead to a victory, but,
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was afraid of what this game was going to be and we kind of got a 2.0 of the passing game that we saw against Houston minus the the pressures on Josh.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think there was a concerted effort by not just Joe Brady, but like we were talking earlier, like Aaron Crowmer, this is a nice shout out to him because you got two backup tackles that are getting first team snaps for an entire game.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: So it was nice to see the approach from Joe Brady to say, hey,
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: If we can get this running game going, we can control some clock and we don't need to be in third and long, which third and seven plus for the bills has been the disaster.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see, this has been, nobody's open to get to seven plus yards and it seems like Josh just doesn't have time or patience or doesn't trust what he's seen on those third and longs.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: Take me through the first part of the game for you because I think you were probably like a lot of bills fans were watching that first half, seeing Josh Allen throw an interception, seeing James Cook have a fumble.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I've said this entire season, we couldn't
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: We couldn't rest on the fact that this team was historically good protecting the football last year.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think that that was ever going to be duplicated no matter how they executed this offense.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's just something that I feel like there's no way you can have eight turnovers in an entire season.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like that was something that I feel like,
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: We all kind of knew that they were going to regress in that area, but seeing how the game started when Josh threw that interception and then you look to the left and he's got two guys open.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: They may not have gotten the first down, but they were open.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like they had five or five yards separation.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: They were open.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: They were behind the sticks, but they were open.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: and then he throws the pick.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: And then the James Cook Fumble, I feel like at that point, I was like, oh, this is gonna be one of these games where the bills can't get out of their own ways.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: They had already had a few penalties up to that point on offense that just,
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: were just non-sensical penalties.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: So take me through your thought process as this game's progressing to the half where it seems like the bills just can't do anything they're punting.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: They were moving the ball a little bit, but then obviously they shot themselves in the foot a couple times the turnover but take me through the first part of your game and what your thoughts were there and what you saw there.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: The bills offensively are not good enough to be this much of a turnover team.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I agree with you in the sense that last year,
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: their turnovers was not going to be it was going to be hard to do that again, right?
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was almost going to be virtually impossible to replicate what we saw last year with this bill's offense and the sense of their turnovers, but this team is not efficient enough pass in the ball to be this much of a turnovers team, right?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: And we saw two turnovers to start the game.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine the game Dave is one like.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: That was a two-fold issue.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: That was a bad pass by Alan, but it was also Gabe Davis not running, like not winning his route.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like sometimes you have to trust guys to win their route.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: Gabe doesn't win his route and you mentioned this a minute ago, Dave, it goes back to Josh, not trusting guys down the field, because
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, could Josh have made a better play?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: 100%, but Game also is trusted.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Your trust your receivers to win their routes.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: Game Davis did not win his route on that slam pass.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was beating to the ball and he was beating his spot by the DB.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: Alan doesn't trust his receivers for us at the game.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of goes back to that point of not trusting receivers.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then you go to the James Cook Fumble and you're like, oh, boy.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because that James Cook Fumble was James Cook Fumble by himself.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was himself.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Phil Fumble, he needed, he needed the ball out of his own hands, and then had a chance to get back on the ball, and then it ended up not getting back on the ball, and Pitchford gets the ball.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, yes, I was thinking, for I tweeted, and I sometimes angrily tweet, but I was right, in my opinion, that this, in the first half that the bill's offense was unwatchable, like it was virtually unwatchable, and they were, they had three points.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: And Dean, I don't know if you mentioned it, but they had a chance to get seven at the first half.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a fall start on the right side of the online.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was just, and that's not a turnover, but that's the third major mistake that we had.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: And then also early in the game before two different times there, I've made field in Alghanshin had fall starts.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: that the railed the bill's offense and you mentioned it when they're getting third and seven.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: You can mention it when it's a first out and they have a holding or a fall start.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: This bill's offense until proven otherwise cannot get behind the sticks whatsoever.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying everybody has to be five yards, but it can't be first and ten to first and 15.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: It just can't.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: This bill's offense is not good enough to
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: to be behind the sticks.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: They were multiple times because of Alka Anderson, they're a false throw in the right side that led to them not having a chance to get seven days.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of getting to get three, the James Cook Fumble and the Josh Allen in a section.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the block has to mention this, but
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Or I think the German mention is going into the locker room.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: The girls' offense was moving to ball.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not saying they were, they were the offense from last year when they were, they were homing, because they were not homing, but it wasn't like they were stalling out, but when they got to around midfield, they stored out.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Cook, Fumble, Outer Interception, two out Anderson fall starts, and then by the goal line, another fall start.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: If you're taking a silver lining from that first app, you're like, we were moving the ball offensively, that's a plus, but then they were biting themselves in the ass by doing turnovers and fall starts.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, going in half time, I was like, this defense needs to kind of get a turnover, they ended up getting a turnover.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was Houston all over again, and it felt like Houston all over again, minus the sex.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the biggest thing, the biggest takeaway to me, like you said that last drive where they settled for a field goal, it's like against better teams, you can't do that.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: You can't have the ball as long as you have the ball for, I think that drive was 16 plays.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm not mistaken, 15 plays, it was long, it was like,
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: 16 plays for 60 yards seven minutes and 18 seconds.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you can't have those drives against what is this way?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: You can't be in the postseason and have a 16 play seven-minute drive end up in a fall start penalty on your one-year tackles.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: I understand Alec Anderson was, he's not a starter and this was his first game starting and he's getting more reps and he's
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: You can't have a fourth and three.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: in a critical situation, which is basically a two minute situation.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: And you settle for a field goal because you, I mean, you're not going to go forward on fourth and eight.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: You're just not.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: And you could tell Allen was frustrated.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: You could tell that Josh was like, come on, we had some momentum here.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: We finally were able to sustain a drive where we weren't giving ourselves self-inflicted wounds.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: We get right down next to the goal line.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: And here we are back in ourselves up.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever they did at halftime as far as coach speak, right?
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: If it was McDermond, if it was, you know, Joe Brady, if it was Aaron Kromer, whoever it was, the offensive line got their shit together in the second half and coming out, you know, the way they did.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: was was unfortunate what happened to Aaron Rodgers, but I'm not going to say I'm mad at it with the sack with Joey Bosa.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: So let's just get it.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's get into the second half and kind of what you saw the bills do.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think the defense played well in the first half.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they gave up the ball in that short field for that touchdown.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: So you can't
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: You can't really blame them for too much.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they kept the bills in the game for the first half.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: So tell me what you saw on the second half, not just defensively, but offensively, and how you saw things kind of change, and the bills kind of get, you know, the motivation and, you know, that's kind of, to try to push the ball down the field with the ground game.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, even in the first half, if you give up seven points in a half and then a fellow game, well, that's a good half defensively, right?
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: You do that twice and give up 14 points.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: You should virtually win every single NFL game you play in.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you're given a single touchdown for half, so yeah, they give up a touchdown.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: It was a short field.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: It happens, right?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: NFL team score points.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it happens, but second half they were terrific and I thought and obviously Roger just comes out Mason Rudolph comes in over shoots is receiver Christian credit for makes a pick right so that was a little bit of pressure that was also a little bit of Mason Rudolph being not a good NFL quarterback.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, and what the bill did put him in a spot where he had to throw the ball, so credit to the bill's defense, but right, I think we actually saw on the second half, and I ended those pressure rates been very good this year.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know people are talking about, uh, who shows pressure rate heading into this game.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's been very good, but the story of this of a group kind of career is pressure rate really good.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought he was good.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: The pressure was good.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: I know the Joey Bosa made a great play.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I was talking at one of my friends I was watching the game with the Bosa and I have them.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like the defense needs to make a play.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't say they needed a scoop and score touch to hunt or have a pick six.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: But they needed to get a short feel for this offense.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: And well, they took it to one step.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one step better than that.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: And both of the great pressure obviously benefited for picks and up.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: And then obviously they get the interception on based and root off that leads to more points and then that was basically it and then you also got a factor in at 16 was a 16 seven or night when in group get the fourth down stop was a 16 seven.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think it was it was 20 23 it was 23, it was 23 seven.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yeah, it was 23 seven.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was fourth and goal or was a fourth and two year and one or fourth and two and group makes makes a great play.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and in the Steelers lined up, there's 320 pound tight end in the backfield, and they don't even go to the direction where he's blocked.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was watching the game.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: I was sitting with my friend.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: There were three huge guys on the right side.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, they go that way.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: We're screwed.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's a touchdown.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: They don't go that way.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: They go left or up the middle and group makes a great play.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, that was.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: That was on the cake.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: If you see Aaron, and I don't mean to keep cutting up.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: But if you see Aaron from the backfield, he after the play, he's like,
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: because he was supposed to go that way.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I think there was just a lot of stuff that Aaron Rodgers said throughout the week about practice was just bad.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: And guys, we're showing up to film, study, and like he was said there was a couple passes that he threw or the receivers just took the wrong routes.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: There was a couple of runways that they ran where they just, they went to the wrong gap.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: And it was like,
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: How about that one touchdown pass or not touchdown pass when he threw it into the middle of the hands-on and the receiver was supposed to go left on a post and went right.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was just no one was even a bills defender.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: There was no one in the vicinity of the area.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: They did a great job of getting after the quarterback.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Rodgers finished with a 65 rating, a 6.2 QBR, so they made Rodgers a hell back there.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I think past defense, they were very good, run defense was great.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a guy you've talked about and we talked about on the show chat tops.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: is really good in the run, run defense.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's, and every damn I'm back and because I don't know how versatile he is in the past game because of just his age and where he is in the past defense I think Dorian Williams is probably a better past defender than Shaq Thompson is, but Shaq Thompson's, but Shaq Thompson's terrific in the run game, with terrific.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: And the steel is having a solid run game with Joan Warren and Kenneth Gainwell, it's not Saquan worth it, but they run the ball pretty well, they're a solid running team.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: They equipped 3.2 yards per carry on 18 carries for 58 yards.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So the bill's rush defense, which has been very suspect, was really good.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I woke up this morning and I saw that the bill's a number one of past defense in yards per game allowed, which shocked me.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, credit to the bill is passed.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, going back to the holistic of the second half, they got after Rogers.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Rogers gets injured on a normal NFL play.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: Mason's Rudolph comes in.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: And you do exactly what you're supposed to do when a back reported back comes in.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: You put him in obvious passing downs, which he did in a way to an interception.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: So, the bills that probably had, if not, probably their best defense of half, on the season, it was terrific.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it gave the offense life obviously they got himself seven points, but I think he gave the offense a little bit like, okay, it gave him a little bit like that the defense was playing that well, another seven ball.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: Now, you talked about the run defense and I have kind of a a theory.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we all know about the injuries to the bills defensive line with Michael Hoyt at Alver.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, Dave Juan was out for a little bit, so obviously the bills have been trying to.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: improve this defensive line that was their main goal all off season.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: So the games where the bills gave up huge amounts of yards on the ground.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know who didn't play?
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: Take a guess, who didn't play?
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's not a defensive lineman.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Too open hard?
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: Shack Thompson.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're saying we didn't play before.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: who didn't play in the games where the bills gave up those miles of a month or you're asking who didn't play yesterday.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, so I'm not saying that Shaq Thompson's the answer to the run defense.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying that I feel like Torel Bernard has been playing either injured or
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's a regressed or if there's just something going on, combination of both because we've talked about a couple of times him chasing down guys and he's like, oh, say he's hobbling with a guy and trying to chase down these guys.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so glad he's buying him and to me, it's not even that.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's more of, I watch him take really bad angles that run and he just always seems to either choose the wrong gap or he's just blown up at the line.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: And look, I'm not an exes and owes expert, but when you constantly see guys take bad angles, I don't know if that's the defensive line, just not being able to penetrate and when their battles up front, or if he's not seen whatever's happening right after the ball is snap, he's not anticipating what's happening.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: And, I mean, yesterday, there was a huge thing that came out about Shack Thompson having to be called upon during a meeting on Friday, and he's got up and spoken front of the team.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: and kind of was like, look, we need to go and win.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: We need to go win our one-on-ones, we need to win our battles, and we need to go and execute.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: We can't, we can't be doing this anymore.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: And it was kind of a running joke on Twitter because he sat down and had an interview about, you know, the first question he was asked is, how do you stop the run?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: And everybody was laughing at him.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: How the bills don't stop the run?
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: They can't stop the run.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you asking?
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, a 30 plus year old linebacker on the end of a one-year deal who's probably not gonna be here next year.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: who's been injured in an out of the line up how to stop the run and his answer was like we just need to execute need to man up an execute and it was nice to come to fruition yesterday where he actually, you know, was a huge contributor I think he was the highest grade of bills defense player from PFF and it was very nice to see that and hopefully.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: He can stay healthy and hopefully he can stay on the field and kind of let Bernard heal if we're gonna get this kind of production from Shack Thompson.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: Let Bernard heal, don't rush him back and kind of push the thing down the road.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: But all right, let's talk about the bill's offense.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, the bill's ran the ball 50 plus time just today.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember a time where I would sit here and tell you that the bill's ran the ball 50 times just today.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's nice because that typically means the bills controlled the clock and won the game.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, tell me what you saw on the run game.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: TJ Watt doesn't ever want to play the bills again.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't ever think his comments saying I can't believe this team ran the same play over and over and over and over and it worked every single time.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: So kind of walk me through what you were thinking once once you were watching this game and you know it didn't matter if it was James Cook, it didn't matter if it was right Ava, it's even Ty Johnson sprinkled in there a little bit.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: What's your thoughts on the bills run game yesterday?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, for TJ Watts, that's more of an indictment on your own defense and defense a lot of stuff.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: The bills.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: If they're going to keep running the same play over and over again, maybe make an adjustment, I guess.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of an.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: And TJ Watts, a future NFL, so stack the box.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I don't know.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: I would stack the box against this bills on passing the game right now.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they have to run the ball to win this game, winning games at this point because they're running team with Josh Allen at quarterback, which is kind of a crazy statement, but they are running team like cook kind of 144 yards and rush for under five yards per carry, but
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: he was a volume running back.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: And someone that we have not seen because he had 44 Russian yards heading into yesterday's game, which was Radius.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then we saw Radius against Tampa, and we saw Radius against Houston become very impactful in the kick return game.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like very impactful he was going to go against Tampa and then against Houston here to kick return for the for a touchdown right so he was impactful in the kick return game and then you get involved in the running back running the nine carries for 62 yards at a six point nine yards per clip on nine carries.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: use them because I think he's a very talented running back and we saw in your one with radio is how well obviously James cooks your number one running back he's second in the national football weekend in the rushing yards he's not that far behind Jonathan Taylor at the moment
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: So like you're going to obviously use James Cook, he's going to be your volume running back as he should be, but Ray Davis is good enough to get enough five to 10 carries a game.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think Ray Davis is good enough to do that in this offense and if you saw yesterday, so credit, well, Joe Brady deserves a ton of blame and I'm going to continue giving Joe Brady a ton of criticism until this passing game is fixed, also granted being as well, until this passing game is fixed.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: But credit to Joe Brady for making an adjustment in the running game and giving Ray Davis carries,
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: TJ Watts, right, they ran the same kind of style of run.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: It was a lot of, I'm gonna butcher this, but it was a lot of like kind of a cut back run by public.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: You can start up the middle and you cut to the right when I play Madden, they call it HB counter.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: Take a counter run, like you start here and you go that way.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't work in Madden because it takes too freaking long to run and no one likes to block in video games.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: But in the NFL, when someone's blocking,
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: on the right side and now the Anderson on the right side, it works.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: They can't run in the same kind of counter, kind of up the middle, it's an out to the right and cook speed.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's good enough to get to the sideline and be to the defender to the sideline.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: And now, so you can string it up field.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: So we saw him do that a ton of times.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: They're running offense.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously they're going to have to change it up a little because it's on tape now what they did.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously heading in this Cincinnati against Cincinnati on Sunday, you have to make adjustments because Cincinnati's going to be ready for the run Cincinnati's defense is also not good, but Dave like I don't know if 51 carries a game is sustainable for this offense if you want to continue to win football games, but They seem like they're just going to have to keep running the ball until this passing game if it ever gets fixed.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: This is, and I said this yesterday to a friend of mine.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: I said, I'm frustrated with Joe Brady more today than I was coming into this game.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, dude, the offense is playing great.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, that's my point.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, why is there certain times of the season this year?
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: Where he figures out what is the best course of action for that game.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: But then when we see games against teams that have bad secondaries,
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: or games against teams that aren't good against the run.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't pick the right formula.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it worked yesterday.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: And like you said, I don't think that it's sustainable to run the ball 50 times.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you're going to have teams that are better at stopping the run.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, there's going to be games when your offensive lines just not dominating the way that the bills did yesterday, even with two backup tackles in.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I do feel like there is a formula that can be had from that game.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it doesn't need to be 30 carries for James Cook.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like that was done yesterday because it was working so well.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we're getting to the part of the season where you're going to want to have him as fresh as possible, right?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I think with them sprinkling in Ray Davis, yes, Cook probably needed some rest because he ran the ball so much.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_02]: But I think like you said, if
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to run James Cook 20 times and run Ray Davis 510 times or, you know, Cook 25 times, whatever you want to do, I feel like that's a good recipe for success.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: And as well as getting those guys involved in the past game, because it was very effective one Josh.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: seemingly all of a sudden figured out read one read two read three worst cook oh he's over there let me just throw it to him and don't seem like that's something that Josh has stopped doing this year and it was nice to see yesterday that he realized okay James Cook is big Jimbo's right over there I'm just going to get it to him first down and then they obviously involved Ty Johnson like they usually do and and Ray Davis a little bit in the past game so to me
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: Going forward, I just, I understand this Bengals team is not a great defensive team, but they do have Joe Barrow back, right?
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: Jamar Chase is back.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Teahagans, I'm not sure if he's slated to come back or not for this week, but the Bengals are going to be able to score a bunch of points.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: They just put 32 up on the Ravens and I feel like they're fighting and scratching and
- 25:00[SPEAKER_02]: take over first place in the AFC Nord.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: So to me, I think the run game needs to be another priority this week.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care if Josh Allen has 115 passing yards.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think if it's going to work, it's going to work.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: James Cook is the second best player on the team.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got more 100-yard rushing games than anybody else in the league with seven.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: So what's your thoughts about what the bills and what kind of will wrap up and will end on this a little bit?
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're a thought process as the bills head into 34 the ABC's wide open obviously it's I don't know who's good and who's not who's average who's better above average.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: So like Denver should all last night
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like Denver should have watched like watch it had chest to go for a two-foot conversion.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: They don't convert like He's not a girl anymore.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the NFL is drunk this season like I didn't understand like teams that blow other teams out Few week later loose to really bad teams and vice versa, so the Panthers to me to me this game and I feel like I said this a couple weeks ago every game here on out is must win because
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: You have to start stacking wins.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think the division is probably out of reach, but you need to just keep distance between the teams like the Texans and the teams that are trying to bite at your heels.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that wild card spot.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: So against the Bengals.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: A desperate team.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that that brought Joe Burrell back from I thought he was going to be done for the season, especially when the record that they had, but he's back, they beat the Ravens and a couple weeks if if they're, you know, winning games, they might be right in it to win the, the AFC North and they might win that division and the,
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, hopefully not because that would mean they'd be to bills, but you know, so what's, what do you think the bills need to do this this Sunday because the bills history, Josh Allen's history against the Bengals has not been great.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, this stuff happened with the Maramelan obviously, the playoff loss, the bills just seemingly don't match up well against the Bengals.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: And now this is a different year.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: what the bills number one priority should be going into this Sunday.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's at home against the, against the Bengals.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you mentioned the bangles Dave, right?
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: The bangles have eight losses right now.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: So this is basically, they're on a one game season type of thing because they can't, now it's not going to get them a wild card spot.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: Just based off, I think you have to get it.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, you have to get to 10 wins to get a wild card spot.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: And there's going to be a 10 winning that might not make the playoffs.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: It could be the cheese.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: It could be Houston, right?
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: Could the bills potentially hopefully not.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: But there's going to be a 10 win team that I think doesn't make the playoffs in the wild card.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Since he's only real crack or tracked in the postseason, is the division, they're not going to win the division eight and nine, like I would be utterly shocked if they won the division at eight and nine.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: So they're in a one game season.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: So you could talk this up to Bangalore's little Sunday,
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: They've heard it's a long, long run to them to even sniff the posties.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: So there could be a desperate team, and they're also really bad at stopping the run.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: They're the second worst team in the national football league at Russian yards allowed to forget.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: The only worst team is the giant.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: So the bills I would assume would have a similar recipe, but then you also factor into the fact that
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: That, and I mentioned it, I've treated a couple of days before the Pittsburgh game didn't really come to fruition, since it hasn't passed defense, is atrocious tip, so they're not against the run, and I couldn't against the past, so the build off that offensively should be able to have their their way was to see, I would assume at this point they would stick to the run game, I don't know if it's 50 carries, but I would, if I didn't, if I didn't bet and I had a guess it would be a similar recipe to what they did against Pittsburgh.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, they're going to want to throw the ball a little bit more because what are they have 120, 22 yards through the air, they need to be better pass them all.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's pretty obvious, but I would expect Davis similar style game, Russian the ball of cooking Davis, Alan using his legs.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was the first time we saw Alan use his legs a ton, like he used it and you about that.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: We mentioned that a month ago, I think we talked about a show like Alan hasn't really used his legs any time.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, right.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it wasn't my concern, they weren't a lot of design.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: There was only one or two maybe design runs that I kind of can remember off the top of my head.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of it was Josh is kind of getting out of like the mud of trying to make a boy.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and my concern earlier in the season was I'm I'm never going to sit here and say that Josh Allen has lost a step or he's got to his ceiling or it's to the
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to continue to do the things that Josh Allen does where, you know, scrambled drills and he's making 15 guys miss before he throws a pass 40 years down field or the sidelines stuff.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: Any of that magical Josh Allen putting the cape on.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: you know, avoiding negative play stuff.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: But it seemed like he was not able to avoid the stuff that he was used to avoiding.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like it seemed like the guys were getting to him a lot easier than they would in previous seasons.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I know that's saying a lot because you can't expect Josh Channel into or any quarterback too.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: being a pocket run around run around and make magic all the time like I feel like Josh's is one of one when it comes to that, but yesterday reminded me that he still can do that when he wants to do that I don't know if it's
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on with the play calling?
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he's not trying to do that because of the receivers he knows are not coming back to the ball and running the off script, scrambled real like in years past.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: But it was nice to see, I shouldn't say it's nice to see because obviously it meant that there was some offensive line breakdowns, but it was good to see Josh as mobile as he was.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I got to say this too, like when he scored that touchdown, yes, it was the record breaking touchdown
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: His passion after that play.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we don't know what happens in these scrums, right?
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: When the offense is out there in Josh is getting tackled and there's piles and all the arguments ensue and we can talk about the cam hayward stuff if we want to, but it was nice to see Josh after that touchdown.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: He was very visibly angry, but it was angry in a good way.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: It was like,
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we've, we've accomplished something, you know what I'm saying?
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, I like that Josh.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: I like the, all the, the, the, the jifts that are out there online of him yelling on the sideline and stuff like that, because that's when I feel like Josh Allen is he goes into that Superman moment.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's like,
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: We need that Josh Allen for four quarters.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need it after he gets hit, which was the late hit in the penalty if you're asking me on that one when he's slid on the sideline.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you this, too.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: I want to ask you this.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it was Alec Anderson or Ryan Vendomark said post game that after Josh got hit when he was sliding by Patrick Queen.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: It lit a fire under the team.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: How do you feel about that?
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Because that was not that the beginning of the game.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like it happens as the game was progressing through.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what I'm saying?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like don't you want your guys to be fired up coming out of the locker room?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like you've had it.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: I would say so.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's my,
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: opinion would be why aren't not fired up as soon as the kick off starts or the first snap is played.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever side of the ball you play, and you should be fired up to go.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't to be fair that the end of the defense was fired up.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, defense was ready to go for four quarters.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Give up seven points offensively.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: They were not ready to go, but Josh always mentions that he needs to get hit once, and he's kind of ready to go, or he likes to get hit once.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's a lot of nothing.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't love that that they weren't like fully ready to go, but whatever works, I guess, but I don't love that that you need your core.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think it absolutely popped.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: And here late, so is out out.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: A Galagherians always been the guy.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: I was he's been that extra O-line men at times.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: Not as much this year because they use Jackson Halls on that, which is obviously more valuable, because Jackson Halls is a better way better past, catcher than.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'll get understand this so it should add another dimension to the offense, but he's open the guy and like pushing guys getting in fights, getting in scuffles and you like, let's guys like, back up right tackle and he's always getting in scuffles.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I get a guess and make sense for out condition.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't love it that you need your old, your star quarterback to get hit late on the sideline for you to get fired up.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess,
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: You should always be fired up, but it's their humans and maybe they needed something, right?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, their offense was, maybe the thing is, maybe they were fired up.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: The stuck was not working.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't functioning like offensively and they needed something like, okay, guys.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's, let's, now we got, like, we got to figure something out here because they just hit our quarterback way.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're dominating us on that side of the ball.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: It can't happen anymore.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: And still talking to the second half to real outside of the drive.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: Then the first half that went into a field goal.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: outside of the fall start to go off with often still obviously eventually get going and they did especially through the on the ground, but they don't love that they need to that, but whatever works I guess, and to be fair, that was a way to a Patrick with.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: There was a dirty set of every scene, but that was a pretty obvious 15-yard panel.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Josh Allen had totally given up on the play.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's on the ground sliding.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and you see a lot worse call.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: Not a lot on, like a lot worse in the sense of not worse hits, but like, Corbyte barely goes down to the guy just like kind of, he breathes by him and they call off 15 yards.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, that was tough.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so we'll kind of wrap it up on this outlook for the bills for the rest of the season.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously eight and four now five games left.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think like you said.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think 11 probably guarantees at this point a playoff spot.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like how there's just that log jam right right behind the bills because the Texans have.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: the head to head, the bills have that head to head over the chiefs, which is good.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to be really interesting.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: So what's what's your outlook going forward?
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: What did yesterday do to kind of get the bad taste out of everybody's mouth from the Thursday night, Texans lost?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like what's your thoughts?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then kind of like what's your, give me one quick key to kind of help this bill's team get successful and get some winds down the stretcher.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think 11 wins definitely gets you in.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you look at some tiebreakers and some like the playoff predictor tend wins for the bills, might get them in as probably gets them in as well, just based off how things fall.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: And the good thing is that there's three AFC South teams battling for obviously ones battling for the division.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: You have the cold and then you're Houston right outside looking in.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: they all play each other a couple more times so the theory is that they beat each other up right and one team might just drop out of the playoffs just because they cannibalize themselves and that obviously will help the bills.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think you got to get to 10 wins right and I think I looked at a couple of tie-breakers like 10 wins probably guarantees them the spot.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying I'm not going on a limb and say it's 100% they get in with 10 wins.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: The rain for with Cleveland and the jet stall on the schedule right the jet games at the end of the year they still
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: You would think that's 10 that I get you to 10 right there, but you know, this bill seems been a little weird, but you would think that get you to 10 ones right there.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then the final other three games are home against and see at New England and then home against Philly.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: So two of those three games are in Buffalo.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then you never know what that New England game is.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: If New England drops a game before, I don't know who, I know New England plays the Giants and I who stink at football.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_02]: They play the bills off their buy.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, and then they pull out the more.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: So, the Patriots will, they're going to have to, the bills obviously if they want to win the division after the Patriots, right?
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's obviously what they have to do.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then,
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: If the Patriots have either loose the Giants and then after the bills, they go to Baltimore and the Jets and the Dolphins.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know what the tiebreaker is if we both finish with full losses, right?
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like if the bills run the table, go 13 and 4, Patriots lose the bills and it lose to Baltimore and we're both 13 and 4.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who has the tiebreaker.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say knowing when does because we would have it be, yeah, it would be the division record.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: They have to lose to the Dolphins or Jets.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously the bills need to beat them.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to obviously adopt or object to loss is more important than the both of them.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: They can lose the boat.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted to.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: So the vision and look, they lose tonight.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: Then obviously it's a little bit different conversation.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect them to lose tonight, but we know how it is.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's an efforts a week to weekly.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you Dave.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think the division's probably out of reach at the moment, but
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: It can be brought back in, like if you wrote on the table and you beat Cincinnati and you beat New England in a couple weeks, then there's an outside shot looking at if New England drops the game or two and you obviously wrote the table.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not going to put my stock in that until after the New England, like until whatever happens in that New England game.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what's crazy is somebody pointed this out to me yesterday that every other year
- 38:46[SPEAKER_02]: And you can go all the way back to 2020, they were 13.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: 21, they want 11, 22, they 11, 13, 23, they want 11 last year, they want 13.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: So if they finish 11 and 6 that they're probably, they're probably in the postseason.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I wouldn't be shocked if they're not in the postseason at 11 and 6.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't kind of get you in.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty, I think this point often that.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: At this point it.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: And in the wild card, the bills, and the less they, like you said, and the less the bills run the table in New England, stumbles a couple times, and the bills beat New England.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's, the bills are, are just plain to get into the, the, the dances.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: You can't, you can't talk about the division until after the new way, like it.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: Am I right?
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: That includes bills beating sincey.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Right, well, if the pages lose to the giants tonight, that I guess you can talk about it a little bit early.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: And assuming the Patriots take care of business tonight, you can't talk about the division until the bill is beat the bangles, if they beat the bangles, and then after the Patriots game, whatever that result is.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, it's a loss, it's over, if it's win, then you can talk as far back into three games we'll have to see.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: Patriots potentially stumble, but also to answer your other question.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: What does the bill need to do kind of like the guarantee of playoff spot?
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would say twofold defensively like Christian Benford needs to keep playing at the lockdown corner.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's been some like criticism of him online about his kind of been a little bit up and down, but
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he was terrific.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hand-man cover drops against DK, no completions allowed.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to spit some stats and you like, wanting to recover snaps, your yards allowed, zero passing, rating allowed, had an interception, picked up a fumble for a touch shot.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he was very good last night.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: He was like the corner that we've seen for most of the year, but there's been a couple other games.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then, a couple games where he's been a little bit up and down.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: On the other side, don't arcade.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Spencer Brown and the Adolphins need to get healthy, right?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are obviously crucial to the bill success.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: don't concede needs to be healthy because I don't have the stats in front of me, but the those often with and without them is they're glaring differences in their past night and day.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's night and day and I'm not saying you get don't concede in automatically you're a top five passing team because I don't think this bill's team can be a top five passing in this year.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: You get don't concede, I think you can kind of go back to what we've seen a couple of times this year when those actually can throw the ball up the bear and can move the sticks on
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: Until you get don't get back this passing game, I think it's gonna be a show of itself.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: So, I know he was questionable heading in the Sunday.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was kind of a game title decision ended up not playing.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: They would expect him to play Sunday again since the night.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a doctor of here, but it sounds like he's trending towards that one.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: The bills didn't have their two best pass catchers.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't have, well, Shakira, I should say that, but they didn't have their best, their best outside receiver and the bills didn't have their best pass catching tight end, which is probably the best pass catcher on the team and can cade in Palmer.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: And those guys went through the pregame warmups and I 100% expect them.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: Unless something happens, knock on wood throughout this week of practice, I expect them.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: to be getting treatment right now.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: They're in Buffalo.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have to travel.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I they have to play on Sunday and that would definitely help open up this playbook a little bit more.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: Um, concave hasn't played in a while.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that he was becoming Josh Allen's favorite target.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: I really do.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's, I don't think it's secure.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's, I think it's Dalton concave has proven that when he's there, Josh has hit him on some really big plays.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: And some really important plays that that chiefs game stands out to me that when he needed plays,
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: he went to concede and he got them.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm hoping that the bill's not only get Dalton concede and Joshua Palmer back, but they also get Spencer Brown and Dianne Dawkins back because I feel like that's not a question protocol.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: So he's coming back.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hoping so I Spencer Brown.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's he's got a whole bunch of ailments.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he is our team.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big complaint.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: I reckon.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: So it could be that they're
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: And he just needs to play the next man up, right?
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: He needs to play the way he did yesterday.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_02]: So anything else before we get out of here, Peter?
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: Just predicting the bill is predicting the bill's went on Sunday.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: Just maybe be a little bit better than it through the air past in the world, please.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: So my, like, I don't get, like, it's, I was joking.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, like, it's like watching the 1945, never watched really 1945, but if he was like, it would be like, if I was watching 1945, football like the bills,
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the first I couldn't throw the ball in.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: And even in the second, I couldn't throw the ball past the gate yards outside of like a one or two boys one and ox and they'd want to Brandon Cooks from the first half.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's kind of crazy to what those offense of what what this offense do there as it become.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: So well, it's kind of sad to yesterday.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: I was watching a lot of the games yesterday and watching teams with below average quarterback play or backups plane running a bunch of play action.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: to put their quarterback in a position to be successful when they don't have the experience.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: You have Tosh Allen in your handcuffing him by making him drop back and wait for these guys to get open in these long developing routes and the past, the past protections not holding up and he's running around.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_02]: And then everybody gets mad that Josh is bailing on pockets.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's because he has to because you got routes that take for five seconds to develop and then the guys don't get separation.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_02]: So it's it's crazy watching teams yesterday take a below average or a backup quarterback and run them in play action to get them on the move to have them be more successful in a high percentage pass, running across the field with receivers, running across the field and trying to make things happen.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's frustrating that Joe Brady doesn't think that he has a guy who just scored his 76 regular season rushing touchdown is as mobile as Josh is doesn't run a whole bunch of play action, especially when the run game is really working.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's when you can start pushing the play action and it's frustrating.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's going to take care of our show for today.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you to everybody that's watching.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you Peter.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: We will see you again next week.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_02]: I am Dave Myers, owner and founder of built in Buffalo.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: Peter, let me get a go bills and then we're going to get out of here, man.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: Go bills.
