- 1:23Great micro message episode here for you.
- 1:26We have Parker here and it's an honor to have her with us.
- 1:30Parker. Welcome to the millennial
- 1:32must-see podcast, and thank you for having me.
- 1:35I have been looking forward to this.
- 1:38You're interviewing authors. You've been doing this for over
- 1:40ten years now. Is that right?
- 1:42Well, just about ten years. I've been doing it now for nine
- 1:46years, showcasing, Russian authors worldwide, I wanted to
- 1:50talk about creation and I want To talk about why it is
- 1:54important for believers to create.
- 1:57Let's start off with what is creation and I'm going to use
- 2:01generic terms but we already know that creation which is the
- 2:05ability to build out of nothing comes from God.
- 2:09Because in the beginning God created we have God already
- 2:13existing who has never been created creating and he gives us
- 2:19in a small portion. This communicable attribute of
- 2:22creation. This becomes extremely important
- 2:26when you consider that everybody on the planet, has the ability
- 2:32to create every single person when he formed Adam and then
- 2:39created Eve, he created two things, a man, a woman and then
- 2:44they came together and create it.
- 2:46What a family that never existed before until they got together,
- 2:50okay? This becomes Important when you
- 2:53realize that then creation isn't just about the Arts it's about
- 2:58affecting the place and influencing the place around
- 3:03you. So again I'm going to repeat,
- 3:06everyone has the ability to create you create.
- 3:12By cleaning up your house, there's something I don't do
- 3:15very well. You create, when you build
- 3:19moments with your children, you are what creating memories, most
- 3:24people who follow my podcasts know, that my grandmother passed
- 3:27away, November 5th of last year. And there was a void in my life.
- 3:32But I have wonderful thousands of memories of her in my life.
- 3:38We created memories together and those memories live.
- 3:41One. If you affect change around you
- 3:45you're also creating so that's the general term of creation.
- 3:48Affecting influencing the place around you hopefully for better.
- 3:55Wow the that's very thought-provoking.
- 4:00What really resonated with me as you were kind of breaking down?
- 4:03What creation is what it looks like.
- 4:06You know it's one of the unique resemblance has we have when God
- 4:10said he made us in his likeness And His Image.
- 4:12It's your humps. All right, it's that God is the
- 4:15ultimate Creator and we're like these little Echoes.
- 4:18You know, spit displaying this beauty to be able to cultivate
- 4:23and create an influence and it kind of reminds me of the
- 4:27mustard seed. The thing about the mustard seed
- 4:33is that it's so small. And the Lord used that, when he
- 4:36talks about faith, he doesn't ask you to be equipped.
- 4:41He just asked you to be there. The mustard seed is there, it's
- 4:46not, it's not even doing much of anything.
- 4:48If you think about it, someone else has to water.
- 4:50It is just has to be what available and so creation
- 4:55permeates, every part of our Lives.
- 5:00Create Liberty. Rather the creative act is
- 5:03always about pushing boundaries within a framework.
- 5:08For example, a scientist can create a product or process for
- 5:13the benefit of way, Humanity. That's he's created.
- 5:17We don't often see scientists as creators but they are creators.
- 5:22That's why we should never be anti-science.
- 5:26You're basically being anti creation.
- 5:28However, we do need to understand that scientists have
- 5:31also been given the ability to create by God because he gives
- 5:36them the unique ability to understand how things work
- 5:40within the body on our planet. In various multiple disciplines.
- 5:44The cosmos, he gives us the ability to understand that when
- 5:49I saw those pictures from James Webb Rod, I was blown away.
- 5:55I was like, look how beautiful this all is and we have the
- 6:01wonderful opportunity. Unity to discover God's
- 6:04creativity in the cosmos. Wow, that he gives us the
- 6:09ability to use, mathematical equations to send a satellite to
- 6:15asteroid 7 million miles away and we can move its orbit.
- 6:21That's amazing. What are we?
- 6:22What are we doing? We're creating hmm.
- 6:25So the mustard seed is just there.
- 6:29It's just has to be available, your ability, whatever that is
- 6:32if you are one of those people who like to create flower
- 6:35arrangements, what are you doing?
- 6:37You're Dating something, beautiful.
- 6:39If you are a person who likes to fix broken broken things, what
- 6:43are you doing? You're creating what
- 6:45Improvement? You're making things better.
- 6:48Maybe you. Like to think really hard on
- 6:50things. There are people who are deep
- 6:53thinkers rod and they think very deeply, they'll sit there and
- 6:57mull over an issue a problem. What are they doing?
- 7:01They're creating intellectual things for people to gnaw and
- 7:07chew on. So if you like to cook whatever,
- 7:10you create an experience because some of our best experience
- 7:12happened over food, we have a good family dinner then also do
- 7:17Uncle. Sam goes crazy and does
- 7:19something weird like oh girl I was eating my mom's cheesecake.
- 7:24That's what it is. So we have to broaden our view
- 7:27of creativity and I should also say that some of this come from
- 7:30this, some of this Foundation I've run by creation, comes from
- 7:34another author of how on the show before named Alan Arnold.
- 7:37He's Really big about creation. So, if you want to get more
- 7:40about what this is about, go to his book.
- 7:42The Story of with his name's Alan Arnold, you get online, and
- 7:46he'll help you. Also broaden your idea about
- 7:49Croatia. So I definitely want to make
- 7:50sure that I give honor to whom honor is due, but he also has
- 7:54helped me develop my own source and my own ideas about creation
- 7:58as well. So let me ask you this, Parker,
- 8:01how do you see creativity being attacked in the younger
- 8:05generation today? What's one of the big red flags
- 8:09that you see like wow we need to watch out for this.
- 8:14For younger people, they are more isolated than we were.
- 8:19We go to the mall. We will go to the park.
- 8:22We go to the playground. The first thing your parents did
- 8:24was kick you out for house. We can make sure you're back by
- 8:28a certain time. So the young people are missing
- 8:31experiences, the only experiences that they're having
- 8:34tend to be virtual, they tend to be via social media.
- 8:38They tend to be able to create a facade, which is creation, but
- 8:42it's not a Real facade. It's your online Persona
- 8:46experience is something that's lacking and I like a lot of
- 8:49young people. They don't have the ability to
- 8:53deal with certain things that we do.
- 8:55So I think that's one one form of attack.
- 8:58The next form of attack is that you have institutions or some
- 9:02popular people with big voices saying certain people, cannot
- 9:07create certain things. One of those things that I get
- 9:11and this is not a very popular opinion as an African-American
- 9:14author. I have my white counterparts may
- 9:17come to me and say, hey Parker, I want to create a black
- 9:20character in my story and I'll go.
- 9:22Okay, let me know when you finish the book.
- 9:24I'd like to read it. That's me.
- 9:26This is me. And one young lady was almost in
- 9:29tears because she wanted to create a black character, but
- 9:31was told by someone else that you're white, you can't create a
- 9:35black character and I remember being so, Curry hearing that as
- 9:41a. Who are you to regulate?
- 9:42What I do with my own story? This is my story.
- 9:46Another thing that causes creativity be under attack is
- 9:50when we instead of having expression, we have a checklist,
- 9:54make sure you have this. Make sure you have this, make
- 9:57sure you have this. I think that's another form of
- 10:00attack. Satan cannot create, you have to
- 10:03understand where this comes from, because he cannot create.
- 10:06The only thing you can do is corrupt and he can corrupt us.
- 10:09Because he can influence people to tell other people how to
- 10:15create their own Creations, so he can come into someone else's
- 10:20domain and that person has a big mouth and said, okay, why
- 10:24officers cannot use Black authors in their stories instead
- 10:28of saying, hey, if you're going to use a different culture in
- 10:31your story, for example, make sure you come from a place of
- 10:35knowledge, ask questions go to people.
- 10:37Let's say when I was writing, My Chinese romance, I had to go x,
- 10:43a Chinese author, if I'm depicting, this culture
- 10:45particular way, now I should say if the culture is not important
- 10:50to the story. If the ethnicity is simply
- 10:53descriptive and I wouldn't go to them because it's not important
- 10:57to the story. I'm not trying to depict a
- 10:59Chinese culture. My character just happens to be
- 11:02Chinese, who's on, Mars, fighting off zombies.
- 11:05You know, I'm saying. So not really important to the
- 11:08discussion. Unless, you know, we have an
- 11:12alternate world where instead of Earth being colonized we have
- 11:15Mars being colonized and this is a massive Martian caught, you
- 11:17know? Chinese Colony.
- 11:18There is something like that. You know, I just went off the
- 11:21deep end but but that's what I mean.
- 11:24So that's why I think how creativity is being attacked
- 11:27through those various means, oh, very well said.
- 11:30And I definitely agree with a lot of what you just said right
- 11:33there. My next question.
- 11:36How do we inculcate the next Narration.
- 11:40How do we get them? So deeply involved with wanting
- 11:45to create and how do we kind of like assure them along in a
- 11:49healthy way? What kind of advice would you
- 11:51have for us? Nowadays from what I've been
- 11:55told because I don't have kids of my own.
- 11:57So this is what I've been told. Children want to be heard,
- 12:01listen to what they're saying. They want someone they can
- 12:04depend on that. They can go to it doesn't matter
- 12:07that you're older. I just recently had a
- 12:10conversation with someone saying well I'm in my 60s.
- 12:13Can I really be effective with someone with a kids and the kids
- 12:17were Spellbound by her when she went to go speak out of school
- 12:20because they want to hear you. You have to be open to that.
- 12:24Let your children create if it's a story, fine.
- 12:29If it's them working and fiddling with their things if
- 12:31they're clean up the house, if your home if they are naturally.
- 12:34Homemakers, for example, there is one of my people my spirit
- 12:38influence. Daughter likes to cook and bake.
- 12:41It's not something someone put inside of her.
- 12:43It's a natural thing that she does, which even when she was a
- 12:46baby, she liked to have the little not a baby because you
- 12:50can't hold anything in your baby while she was a little toddler.
- 12:52She used to use a little toy Ovens that she would make things
- 12:57and pull out want to serve you dinner.
- 12:58It was something that was naturally inside her, because
- 13:00her mother hated cooking. It's a natural thing.
- 13:05Go ahead and courage that find out what you kids like to create
- 13:09and Most important of all create with them.
- 13:13Wow. Create some build those things
- 13:16together. One thing Alan Arnold says that
- 13:18when we co-create, what? God, we don't, we want to
- 13:21sometimes create for God instead of co-creating with God.
- 13:26And when God allow, when we co-create with God, he builds it
- 13:29up because we're actually creating for audience of one for
- 13:33him because all this can pass away.
- 13:36If something happened on my bus can go.
- 13:39Now, but if I'm creating for him, guess what?
- 13:43He's going to be glorified? He's going to be blessed.
- 13:45So, in the same way as he called create with the Lord, and
- 13:49whatever capacity that is, if our children want to create,
- 13:52co-create with them, help them along their way.
- 13:54They want to be entrepreneurs and that's happening a lot.
- 13:57More often Rod you have these young entrepreneurs, wanting a
- 14:00man, 9 years old, a millionaire. Remember think who's your mom
- 14:06and dad because I have questions, So that's what I
- 14:10would suggest. So one of the last questions I
- 14:14have for you is what is one of the most influential experiences
- 14:20regarding feedback from someone who's read one of your 40?
- 14:24Different books is something resonated with you so deeply and
- 14:29you just kind of understood that something that you captured
- 14:32during this creating process of whatever book.
- 14:34It might be had such a significant role in changing or
- 14:40Meeting the need of the reader that it stuck with you.
- 14:47In one of my earlier works, I wrote about a character who
- 14:51hated herself and that was also a reflection of my own low
- 14:55self-esteem at the time. And in the story, the young lady
- 15:01realizes that beauty is in the eye of the Creator, not the
- 15:05beholder. And I had a young lady, reach
- 15:09out to me and said, thank you so much for putting that in this
- 15:13book because I have also struggled with that.
- 15:16And And it is the Lord who makes me beautiful, not anyone else.
- 15:21Looking at me who makes you beautiful?
- 15:24And when I heard that it was the first time I realized that there
- 15:27are deeper things going on that just telling a good story even
- 15:31though I was just using my own experience of coming to grips
- 15:35with being happy with who I am in the Lord, as opposed to
- 15:40wanting to look As nice as I can for the outside world and low
- 15:46self-esteem is something I've talked about before and I still
- 15:49struggle with it. Sometimes I can't help.
- 15:51Is that monkey on my back, it can't get rid of, you know, they
- 15:54just have to keep fighting every day and that was a very profound
- 15:59moment that there was more to this thing that just telling
- 16:01good story. And that people are reading,
- 16:04what I am writing now was the earlier book and that made me
- 16:08feel pretty good. Lately, I had a reader who said
- 16:11I have read all Books and you have grown.
- 16:14As a writer that was probably one of the best moments of my
- 16:18life. This conversation so far has
- 16:21been edifying for me. I it's really neat to be able to
- 16:25actually be talking with you and kind of like get to ask the
- 16:28question and just sit back and listen to your answer.
- 16:33I think it's you definitely have a gift to be doing what you're
- 16:36doing and I would just say don't grow weary in doing good due
- 16:41season. We're definitely going to reap.
- 16:43That's the hard part is don't grow weary in trying to create
- 16:48particularly people who Our authors, we grow weary we get
- 16:52tired, life interferes, if you create by making sure your house
- 16:58is clean. So when your family comes home
- 17:01they have a safe place to rest. If you are at work and you work
- 17:06really hard to make sure the project is done, but you may not
- 17:08get the accolades and acknowledgements that you doing
- 17:12remember as my mother would say Jesus is the best paymaster, not
- 17:16anyone down here. So why are you creating member
- 17:19York? creating 41 and don't get weary
- 17:21of that present as an offering to him and offering a creation
- 17:25if you will what a refreshing message and reminder, in the
- 17:31days that we live in, I know that There's not a lot of pure
- 17:39motive in the world today at least not under the Limelight.
- 17:46So it's just very refreshing to be able to hear your perspective
- 17:49and your answers for some of these questions and Creating
- 17:54yeah let's let's all kind of think about that as wherever you
- 17:58guys are. When you listen to this, think
- 18:00about creating a safe environment for our family.
- 18:04Mmm. That's a message that clearly
- 18:06is. Barely non-existent in the
- 18:09Public Square today. Creating peace and her household
- 18:15by taking every thought captive Into The Obedience of Christ.
- 18:20Creating a conversation intentionally with somebody who
- 18:23may hold different views than than you.
- 18:26Some of my greatest rewards have literally been from taking the
- 18:31step of faith and cultivating areas that people like to stay
- 18:35very far away from. I found it to be so rewarding
- 18:38and it's also challenged me to go further and dig deeper and
- 18:44Depend on God, more. So with all that being said,
- 18:47Parker do you want to leave us with some information as to
- 18:51where the listeners can find one of your 40 different books and
- 18:55where they can find your show? You can find me online at Parker
- 19:00Jake, all.com. And if you want to get any of my
- 19:03books, for those who may I do, write romances, we clean
- 19:07romances. And for those who don't like
- 19:10those, I'm sorry, that's my primary work is so I am working
- 19:15on some By for those who like sci-fi, but you can find them
- 19:18all online. I right exclusively with Amazon,

- 19:30this discussion with you. Thank you so much for joining me
- 19:32and I really look forward to doing a longer form conversation
- 19:37in the near future. Me to thank you so much for the
- 19:40opportunity. Absolutely well that's it.
- 19:43That's the micro message episode Try to keep it around the
- 19:4720-minute marker. The idea of these shorter
- 19:50episodes are just to give you guys some healthy perspective,
- 19:55something that you can listen to while you run to the grocery
- 19:58store or something. That will challenge you to think
- 20:00a little bit different about your day.
- 20:02And hopefully, you walk away with a smile and learn something
- 20:05or you're entertaining. Come and see from Southeastern
- 20:08Pennsylvania. God Bless America.
- 20:12Goodbye.
