- 1:46Speaker 7: to you by Intech and First Financial Bank.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I'm going to give them a reason to get out there.
- 1:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Our conversations, for some reason, is always better off the
- 1:59Speaker 1: air than it is on the air.
- 2:00Speaker 3: But Robert Sesson is here. Rusty Burson is here.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's the Writer's Roundtable for a Monday brought to you
- 2:06Speaker 1: by Intec and First Financial Bank.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Guys, I like this A & M defense right now.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I don't know what you think.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But, I mean, I realize they gave– I get that. But, hey,
- 2:20Speaker 1: when you get two pick sixes in a game, you're
- 2:23Speaker 1: doing okay.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Okay. And what are their problems? See, they hadn't gotten
- 2:27Speaker 3: turnovers in the last few years.
- 2:29Speaker 8: No, but I'm kind of concerned you give one guy
- 2:32Speaker 8: 200 yards that's... You're talking about the receiver?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. He was good. Reed Harris is still open somewhere.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I know, he was good. He's over in England right now.
- 2:41Speaker 3: So is Jeremiah Smith, by the way.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I mean, you know, sometimes you get beat, and I'm
- 2:47Speaker 1: not defending giving up 200 yards to.
- 2:49Speaker 3: A receiver, but.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I feel like this guy's going to play at the
- 2:53Speaker 1: next level, and he's going to do this to a
- 2:55Speaker 1: lot of teams this year. And a lot of those
- 2:58Speaker 1: 200 yards are negated by the fact that you had
- 3:00Speaker 1: two pick sixes.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I get that. You're not always going to get that.
- 3:03Speaker 9: I tell you what, that pick six couldn't have come
- 3:06Speaker 9: at a better time right after the punter drops the ball.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Yep, absolutely. I mean, I have done that as a punter.
- 3:12Speaker 3: There's nothing worse.
- 3:14Speaker 9: It's such an easy. And the ball was a little
- 3:16Speaker 9: to his left, but he has to make that catch.
- 3:18Speaker 9: I remember the last game.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I ever played. It was like a high school football game.
- 3:22Speaker 3: I'm punting, and we've got this game wrapped up, and
- 3:24Speaker 3: I just dropped the stinking ball.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I was like, how do you do that i mean
- 3:28Speaker 1: i make that catch a hundred thousand times and then
- 3:31Speaker 1: people drop the ball every every game i watch.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah well i mean he bailed him out like.
- 3:37Speaker 9: He did next play he did because there was about
- 3:40Speaker 9: to be a big old momentum shift yeah you're right.
- 3:42Speaker 8: They show white all the way in the camera because
- 3:44Speaker 8: he's down you know this is a turning point and
- 3:47Speaker 8: then yes before he could even say oh crap uh
- 3:50Speaker 8: it's going the other way and it's pretty funny but
- 3:53Speaker 8: What's funny today about today's football, Chip, when you said
- 3:57Speaker 8: that guy will play on Sundays, I think in the
- 4:00Speaker 8: Power Four conferences, the way it is, everybody has about
- 4:04Speaker 8: three or four that should play in the next level
- 4:06Speaker 8: since you're paying them already to be an NFL salary.
- 4:09Speaker 3: And you know what?
- 4:10Speaker 1: That's going to make, and we've already seen it, it
- 4:13Speaker 1: is going to be crazy. And I don't think, I
- 4:17Speaker 1: think going forward, as long as this system's in place,
- 4:21Speaker 1: and as a fan, I'm going, hey, sign me up,
- 4:26Speaker 1: you know, because I think there's going to be a
- 4:29Speaker 1: lot more Oklahoma State's beating Oregon's.
- 4:33Speaker 3: And I just, because as you mentioned, Cease, this quarterback
- 4:38Speaker 3: at OSU, he can play for anybody, right? Including the NFL.
- 4:41Speaker 3: He can play, yes. Here's the deal. North Texas. North
- 4:45Speaker 3: Texas kid, yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 8: I was listening to you coming in, and I chuckled
- 4:48Speaker 8: when you said, and everybody's saying this, this is why
- 4:51Speaker 8: you love college football. Not if you're from Oregon or
- 4:53Speaker 8: Oklahoma this week.
- 4:54Speaker 6: No.
- 4:54Speaker 8: And then what happens is, are we going to see
- 4:57Speaker 8: these games? Because you hit it in the head.
- 5:00Speaker 3: If you watch that Sarkissian, if they lose that game. Oh,
- 5:02Speaker 3: my gosh.
- 5:02Speaker 8: If Manning and Sarkissian, the way he acted after the game,
- 5:05Speaker 8: if he lose, you can't tell me he wasn't feeling
- 5:07Speaker 8: the pressure.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Wait a second. You said if you're from Oklahoma.
- 5:10Speaker 9: If you're from Oklahoma and you like Oklahoma State, it
- 5:12Speaker 9: was the perfect weekend.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So I texted a friend, and she reminded me of that.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It's like, hey, and Oklahoma loss. Because she had gone
- 5:24Speaker 1: to Texas and Oklahoma State, so it was a great
- 5:27Speaker 1: weekend for her. And I wasn't even thinking of it.
- 5:29Speaker 1: She goes, and Oklahoma loss.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I go, oh, what a weekend.
- 5:32Speaker 9: Hey, you know, go back to the two pick sixes.
- 5:36Speaker 3: A & M did a great job of creating things.
- 5:38Speaker 3: And the Sam in Pimba, is that how you– Yes, yes. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 3: he was terrific.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That punch was, I mean, perfect. He created 94 on
- 5:47Speaker 1: pro football focus, by the way. Man, it was just–
- 5:50Speaker 1: I mean, the punch was perfect. You could not have
- 5:52Speaker 1: hit the ball better than what he did.
- 5:54Speaker 3: And that's why you're trained, right? Yeah, exactly. That's why
- 5:56Speaker 3: you practice. A & M generated those turnovers. Yes, they did. Which, again,
- 6:00Speaker 3: we have not seen that much of late.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Ten last year. Ten turnovers this whole year. And I've–
- 6:04Speaker 1: I thought T.J. Searcy, and he talked about him today,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I thought he was the best player on defense personally
- 6:10Speaker 1: on Saturday.
- 6:11Speaker 3: He was terrific.
- 6:12Speaker 8: I think A & M' s defensive line is a lot
- 6:14Speaker 8: better than the offensive line.
- 6:15Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And we'll see how it goes.
- 6:17Speaker 10: No doubt.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And it's also deeper than I think.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:19Speaker 3: But once again, it's hard to judge. The linebackers have
- 6:22Speaker 3: been good.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Hard to judge.
- 6:23Speaker 10: It is.
- 6:24Speaker 1: It is. This is always overreaction Monday. And here's the
- 6:28Speaker 1: deal is the way the schedule set up. I feel
- 6:30Speaker 1: this is really a and M's first game, the second game,
- 6:33Speaker 1: because Mississippi state, Missouri state was just a scrimmage. Yes.
- 6:36Speaker 8: Now interested to see what adjustments they make on the quarterback,
- 6:39Speaker 8: what adjustments they make on, on everything else on running
- 6:42Speaker 8: the ball.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Well, I will say this.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Kentucky was really good in the first half. Now they, that, that, Crowd,
- 6:49Speaker 1: they were lit up on Saturday. They had Alabama in,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and normally, and that tells me a couple of things, Cees.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Number one, when Alabama's coming to town, you just know
- 7:00Speaker 1: you're going to get your butt whipped, right?
- 7:02Speaker 3: And the crowd is not that. No, I'm serious. You're right.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And now, this is what it's changed. People know they
- 7:08Speaker 1: have a shot to get Alabama now, right? And Kentucky,
- 7:12Speaker 1: with a brand-new team, a brand-new coach.
- 7:15Speaker 3: They were lit up. And you know what?
- 7:18Speaker 1: Kentucky gave them reason to be throughout the first half
- 7:21Speaker 1: and into the second half. That game was not dissimilar
- 7:25Speaker 1: to this A & M game, right? You look at
- 7:26Speaker 1: the score and you go, well, they wiped them out.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And you go, well, the third quarter, it's a four-point game.
- 7:31Speaker 1: You know, same thing happened in Lexington. until Alabama's just
- 7:37Speaker 1: had more athletes, better defense, got turnovers.
- 7:41Speaker 3: When you're playing a team like that. Kentucky panicked, too.
- 7:44Speaker 3: I mean, they're going for it on fourth down. That
- 7:45Speaker 3: was stupid. That was dumb. That was a stupid play.
- 7:48Speaker 9: I thought it was dumb for Elko to go for
- 7:49Speaker 9: that as well. It got bailed out. I did not
- 7:52Speaker 9: like that call at all. I didn't like the call.
- 7:54Speaker 9: I didn't like A & M going for it. Obviously,
- 7:58Speaker 9: they got the penalty that bailed them out.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I didn't like Sark going for it on fourth and
- 8:02Speaker 1: eight early in the fourth quarter.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I did not either. And he's on his own 35-yard line. Right. Pressure. Pressure.
- 8:09Speaker 3: You're right, Cease.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I mean, when you saw that release and people are
- 8:13Speaker 1: making a thing over this Holly Rowe thing, and it's like, man,
- 8:19Speaker 1: you could see Arch's.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Face, his face, just released, right?
- 8:26Speaker 10: And....
- 8:27Speaker 1: They've got a gauntlet to go through. And they're not
- 8:31Speaker 1: going to go unscathed by any stretch. But that one game.
- 8:35Speaker 1: You're exactly right. You could see that just drain from
- 8:39Speaker 1: their faces. It was so intense. I thought the worst
- 8:42Speaker 1: call was Ryan Day going for it on fourth down.
- 8:45Speaker 3: He's got the lead. You can't– don't give the other
- 8:47Speaker 3: team– Terrible call. And he ran off tackle.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Terrible.
- 8:49Speaker 3: You need two yards.
- 8:50Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 8: And I said to Jessica, we don't want– Pressure. I said,
- 8:54Speaker 8: if he already hadn't won a national championship, they'd want
- 8:56Speaker 8: to fire him because they were on his butt before
- 8:59Speaker 8: he won that. He– He is a terrible play caller.
- 9:02Speaker 8: Or whoever's calling him. I mean, that's the best team
- 9:05Speaker 8: in the country, I think.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Ohio State is. Oh, that receiver. Oh, my gosh. But,
- 9:10Speaker 3: I mean, Texas outplayed him. Texas outcoached him.
- 9:13Speaker 8: In the second half, you talk about coaching matter or whatever.
- 9:16Speaker 1: In the second half, Texas could do no wrong. Ohio
- 9:21Speaker 1: State could do no right. Well, I will say this.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I thought Ohio State got gassed in the fourth quarter.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I think Texas ran almost 40 plays in the fourth quarter, right,
- 9:29Speaker 1: with all those long drives.
- 9:31Speaker 3: They were gassed at the end.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Because Texas could not run the football on them again
- 9:35Speaker 1: this year in the first half, right?
- 9:37Speaker 3: They couldn't, right?
- 9:38Speaker 1: Of course, they didn't have the ball very much because
- 9:40Speaker 1: they kept giving it away. But they still couldn't run.
- 9:43Speaker 1: By the fourth quarter, and especially those last two drives– Man,
- 9:48Speaker 1: they're gashing them.
- 9:49Speaker 3: You're right.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And their tongues are hanging out because that heat, you
- 9:52Speaker 1: know how hot it was on Saturday.
- 9:55Speaker 3: And you could tell. They withered. You saw that last
- 9:58Speaker 3: night in the NFL game. If you hear the ball,
- 10:00Speaker 3: I don't care what level, if you have double digits,
- 10:03Speaker 3: you're going to wear down the other team. And guess what?
- 10:04Speaker 1: I think Oregon withered too, guys. They are not used
- 10:08Speaker 1: to playing. It was 100 degrees up there too, right
- 10:11Speaker 1: in the middle of the afternoon.
- 10:12Speaker 3: You know what? See, I have to say this.
- 10:15Speaker 1: When you're down 14 points and you taunt while you're
- 10:18Speaker 1: going into the end zone, give me a break, Cowboys.
- 10:20Speaker 3: That was the stupidest play. Well, I didn't watch it,
- 10:24Speaker 3: so I don't know. That shows you what's wrong. Williams,
- 10:27Speaker 3: the running back, they're down 14 points. Cowboys, you're talking
- 10:30Speaker 3: about the Cowboys. Cowboys, yeah. He's going into the end zone.
- 10:33Speaker 3: He shoves the ball towards the defender. Did he get
- 10:35Speaker 3: a flag?
- 10:35Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 12: Oh, yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 3: And then they missed the extra point because they had
- 10:38Speaker 3: to do it 15 yards. 47-yard extra point. You know what? Karma, baby.
- 10:44Speaker 3: The Cowboys deserve to lose that game. Well, you talk
- 10:46Speaker 3: about people not having discipline. Same old Cowboys. It's just unbelievable.
- 10:51Speaker 3: You want to say something about that? Same crappy Cowboys.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I've already seen your text. You almost want to fire
- 10:58Speaker 3: somebody in that. When you go like, really?
- 11:00Speaker 10: Really? Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 3: You just gave away a point. I waited seven months
- 11:05Speaker 3: for this?
- 11:07Speaker 1: Why?
- 11:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:08Speaker 6: Why?
- 11:09Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, I rewatched. No, I didn't rewatch.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I watched games that I missed on yesterday because I
- 11:17Speaker 1: typed a bunch of games, right?
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Because I knew I couldn't see all of them. I
- 11:20Speaker 1: knew I was going to be at the game. I
- 11:22Speaker 1: knew I was going to see some of the games.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I watched a lot of college football.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you?
- 11:27Speaker 1: While I'm thinking about it, let's do this. I mentioned
- 11:30Speaker 1: it in the first hour. They moved Texas up to
- 11:33Speaker 1: number one. In my mind, I said this last week,
- 11:36Speaker 1: I know they haven't played anybody yet. The best team
- 11:38Speaker 1: I've seen so far this year is the Miami Hurricanes.
- 11:42Speaker 1: They are the best college football team I've seen.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I haven't seen them, sir. But they've got talent. We
- 11:46Speaker 3: know they've got talent. And Georgia would be number two.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And if you want to put Texas at three, I
- 11:52Speaker 1: won't argue with you, but you can throw about three
- 11:54Speaker 1: or four other teams in that mix. You know, Ohio
- 11:58Speaker 1: State is still right, I think, is still right there,
- 12:01Speaker 1: especially with that quarterback and that receiver. They're going to
- 12:04Speaker 1: cause problems. They've got a good run back.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, he's okay. I don't think he's great. They've got
- 12:09Speaker 3: line to go with it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But, you know, they're obviously going to be good. Now
- 12:15Speaker 1: that I've seen Oregon play, I think they play Oregon
- 12:19Speaker 1: on their schedule.
- 12:20Speaker 3: That was going to be a big game. I'll tell
- 12:22Speaker 3: you what, if I'm an Oregon fan, I'm a little
- 12:24Speaker 3: bit concerned. Oh, I'm real concerned.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Because remember, we talked about how– But I do think
- 12:32Speaker 1: Boise is still good.
- 12:33Speaker 3: What did we do? We give Boise State credit for
- 12:35Speaker 3: playing Oregon. We did.
- 12:37Speaker 5: We did.
- 12:37Speaker 1: But Oklahoma State had lost, what, 12 straight Division I games?
- 12:40Speaker 1: I would have taken– They are on the schedule?
- 12:43Speaker 3: Yeah, Oregon plays Ohio State November 7th. Okay, later in
- 12:47Speaker 3: the season. We were talking about– I was talking with
- 12:49Speaker 3: a friend of mine who's an Oregon guy, right?
- 12:51Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I go, you can name your score this week, right?
- 12:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I mean, like, Oklahoma State's terrible.
- 12:56Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 3: And then to see that, like, unbelievable. But you know what?
- 12:59Speaker 3: Guess what? They have a quarterback. Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And that's what, coming in, you know, you looked at
- 13:05Speaker 1: the spread, go 14, you know, but that kid was
- 13:09Speaker 1: better than I expected him to be for the most part.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I know he threw two pick sixes.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I'm going to give A & M defense a little
- 13:16Speaker 1: credit for that. It wasn't like he just threw it
- 13:19Speaker 1: right to the guys. They had to make the play.
- 13:22Speaker 1: He was pretty good. We've already said that receiver's pretty good.
- 13:26Speaker 1: The running back broke one long play, I think, Cease. Yeah.
- 13:30Speaker 1: But they weren't... You know, Bowley's got a history of
- 13:35Speaker 1: being great, then all of a sudden it turns. Yeah, yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 3: And he got hit, and the ball went up in
- 13:39Speaker 3: the air. That's a fluke. Well, you can't give away
- 13:41Speaker 3: four turnovers. You can't give away... I don't care who
- 13:43Speaker 3: you are. Exactly. Unless you're SMU in Florida State. You know, I'm.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Watching, and I think... You know, this Arizona State is
- 13:49Speaker 1: a good team, particularly in offense.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I think they're pretty decent.
- 13:51Speaker 8: And I was impressed how their defense flied the ball
- 13:54Speaker 8: and they had a lot of energy.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yes, they did. That coach did a play for them.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Yes, he did.
- 13:59Speaker 3: But how good are they? I don't know.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 14:02Speaker 3: That Julio Humphrey catch was unbelievable. He was good, right?
- 14:05Speaker 3: That guy was a great catch. Oh, yeah. I mean,
- 14:07Speaker 3: I don't see how he did it.
- 14:08Speaker 9: I went back and watched that over and over again.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, that's skill-wise right there. Put
- 14:13Speaker 3: the foot down, just da-da-da-da. Pretty amazing.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You mentioned the offensive line season, and you wrote a
- 14:18Speaker 1: column about that, I think, today, about your concern for
- 14:22Speaker 1: that and how that's going to have to pick up.
- 14:25Speaker 8: Well, you look at what's happened when I turn things around.
- 14:28Speaker 8: The year they were 8-5, they were still able to
- 14:29Speaker 8: run the ball, and they wouldn't have been 8-5 if
- 14:31Speaker 8: Moss wouldn't have got hurt. You remember he got hurt.
- 14:34Speaker 8: He's going to get 1,000 yards against South Carolina. They
- 14:37Speaker 8: go down. The offensive line, all those guys came back
- 14:40Speaker 8: the next year. Zune, Adams, whatever. And the offensive line
- 14:46Speaker 8: was really good last year. And I don't expect this
- 14:50Speaker 8: offensive line to be as good as last year.
- 14:53Speaker 3: If it is, then better for A & M. But
- 14:55Speaker 3: I think everything around them is better. I spent three
- 14:57Speaker 3: quarters going, how in the world is A & M leading?
- 15:00Speaker 3: I'm with you. It wasn't clean and it wasn't pretty
- 15:04Speaker 3: for three quarters.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I mean, for three quarters, the best weapon A &
- 15:07Speaker 1: M had was stupid mistakes by Arizona State.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yes. Penalties and the muff punt. And, you know, I mean,
- 15:14Speaker 3: they gave A & M every opportunity. They did. And
- 15:17Speaker 3: finally in the fourth quarter, A & M just said,
- 15:19Speaker 3: all right, fine, you're going to give us opportunities. We'll
- 15:21Speaker 3: take it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they're going to have to be better. I don't
- 15:24Speaker 1: think anybody thinks otherwise, right?
- 15:26Speaker 3: It was Mona Lisa for a quarter, but it was
- 15:28Speaker 3: not a work part for three quarters.
- 15:30Speaker 5: No, it wasn't great.
- 15:32Speaker 8: I was impressed Arizona State seldom came in and ran
- 15:35Speaker 8: three and punted. They picked up first downs.
- 15:37Speaker 3: They did.
- 15:37Speaker 8: That little deal where they faked the running back. froze everybody,
- 15:42Speaker 8: and then he hit the wide-open receivers. And A &
- 15:44Speaker 8: M never really adjusted until the second half.
- 15:47Speaker 9: I thought A & M was being outcoached for three quarters, too.
- 15:49Speaker 9: I mean, I thought that, you know.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I'm with you. And their offense did so well.
- 15:53Speaker 8: When you looked at it, they come in and it
- 15:56Speaker 8: looked like A & M' s defense was tentative. And any
- 15:58Speaker 8: time you're tentative on either side of the ball, there's
- 16:01Speaker 8: too many good athletes out there. And if– Arizona State
- 16:06Speaker 8: wouldn't have fumbled that punt, that first punt. You talk
- 16:09Speaker 8: about one key play because they were picking up yards.
- 16:12Speaker 1: 92 yards rushing, generally speaking. That was their net rushing
- 16:16Speaker 1: the ball. See, she wrote about this. It's 2.6 average,
- 16:19Speaker 1: 10 yards from the Tyler White fumble.
- 16:22Speaker 3: You know, that took away rushing. Along with two kneel downs. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 8: But what I found that was interesting, and I didn't
- 16:27Speaker 8: have time to expound on it, do you realize, looking
- 16:30Speaker 8: at their games last year, almost all, all games for
- 16:33Speaker 8: A & M was in the high 60s in snap.
- 16:35Speaker 8: You know, how many snaps do you get? And they
- 16:37Speaker 8: had 60. And, you know, that's not a lot, but
- 16:40Speaker 8: there's not a lot in the game if you have
- 16:42Speaker 8: these 10-play possessions because the clock runs. And now it's
- 16:46Speaker 8: kind of interesting. It's not what you do because Miami
- 16:49Speaker 8: only needed 45 plays to beat A & M.
- 16:51Speaker 9: You had two pick sixes and then a five-yard drive.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yeah. So, I mean, that's why you have so few plays.
- 16:57Speaker 8: But then they didn't have that many either. It's just
- 16:59Speaker 8: like– You can make stats do anything. That's one thing
- 17:03Speaker 8: I want to get at.
- 17:04Speaker 1: 60 plays, and Arizona State had, let me see, 29-30.
- 17:12Speaker 3: They had 63 plays. Yeah, mostly during the 60s. It's amazing.
- 17:16Speaker 8: It's what you do with those snaps. It gets back
- 17:19Speaker 8: to what can you do? A & M at first. And,
- 17:24Speaker 8: you know, we talk about this a lot. Wiggins is
- 17:27Speaker 8: still settling in to be an offensive coordinator. I mean,
- 17:29Speaker 8: I'm not saying he called a bad game or a
- 17:31Speaker 8: good game. They just were discombobulated. And I definitely thought
- 17:36Speaker 8: Marcel Reed was just average. I didn't think he had
- 17:39Speaker 8: a great game.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I thought he was average, too.
- 17:41Speaker 1: He did not.
- 17:41Speaker 3: You look at all these things, because I love that
- 17:43Speaker 3: new freshman running back. He comes in. He looks like
- 17:46Speaker 3: he could run forever.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Edwards? I really like those freshmen running back. Both of them.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Much more so than the veteran. I like the way
- 17:55Speaker 3: Edwards runs over Owens. That's what I'm saying. Those guys
- 18:01Speaker 3: are better than Owens, I believe. But the deal is, all.
- 18:03Speaker 8: The pieces are there. And I'm thinking, why is A
- 18:07Speaker 8: & M so good on defense? Because their defensive line's
- 18:09Speaker 8: that good. On A & M on offense, I'm waiting
- 18:12Speaker 8: for that offensive line. I think that holds the key.
- 18:14Speaker 8: Because when you go on the road, boy, it's tough to.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Win on the road. Those two freshmen have breakaway ability.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I don't think Owens does. He falls down a lot.
- 18:22Speaker 3: He runs so hard sometimes.
- 18:24Speaker 9: There was a play during that game where I was like,
- 18:26Speaker 9: I mean, if he had a little bit more– he
- 18:30Speaker 9: would have broken that thing wide open and instead he
- 18:33Speaker 9: got six yards. He just doesn't have that breakaway home
- 18:37Speaker 9: run threat.
- 18:38Speaker 8: And, you know, like I said, they played one game,
- 18:40Speaker 8: and I think Arizona State's a good team. We'll know
- 18:42Speaker 8: a little more this week because I want to see
- 18:44Speaker 8: what adjustments they make because I think, you know, Elko.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Plus, it's an SEC game. You know, Elko talked about that.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Everything changes Saturday night. It does.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I want to see them hammer Kansas.
- 18:53Speaker 9: I want to see everybody hammer Kansas after that stupid
- 18:56Speaker 9: social media thing.
- 18:57Speaker 3: That was stupid. Who approved that? The stupid slavery stuff?
- 19:01Speaker 3: It was stupid. Oh, gosh.
- 19:03Speaker 5: It was crazy.
- 19:03Speaker 3: But I will say this, guys. I said it before.
- 19:06Speaker 9: What?
- 19:08Speaker 1: The new college football, the worst thing that's happened is
- 19:12Speaker 1: we've done away with a lot of these rivalries. We
- 19:15Speaker 1: saw it for 13 years around here. These rivalries aren't playing,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and the fact that Missouri and Kansas aren't playing now scheduled,
- 19:24Speaker 1: I think, for another six or whatever years, that is
- 19:28Speaker 1: tragedy because there is no deeper hatred, hatred, You can
- 19:36Speaker 1: talk about A & M in Texas all you want,
- 19:38Speaker 1: but it does not go back.
- 19:39Speaker 3: To the Civil War, okay?
- 19:42Speaker 1: This goes back 200 years almost to the Civil War,
- 19:48Speaker 1: They're still fighting the Civil War in Missouri and Kansas.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Those fan bases are still fighting it. That video that
- 19:55Speaker 1: surfaced that they put out, Rusty.
- 19:57Speaker 3: I loved Eli Dreekwitz. Oh, he was great. He was fantastic.
- 20:00Speaker 3: He was fantastic afterward. He's like, hey, you know, it's 9-11.
- 20:04Speaker 3: We need unity. He's like, I don't care if we
- 20:07Speaker 3: ever play them again. He's like, you know what? I
- 20:09Speaker 3: tried to embarrass them because they embarrassed themselves. Yeah, yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Good for him. No, it was awesome.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Eli's not a loss for us. But I sure wish
- 20:16Speaker 1: they'd play again.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I'm just glad Missouri beat them. It was stupid. And
- 20:21Speaker 3: I hope Arizona State hammers them in England. Yeah, this week,
- 20:27Speaker 3: Arizona State didn't go home. They flew to England. To England,
- 20:32Speaker 3: to the pond. What about their classes? Classes?
- 20:36Speaker 11: What?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Are we talking about classes? Come on, man. It's hot.
- 20:40Speaker 3: They're all student athletes. I have these moments. It gets
- 20:43Speaker 3: so hot out there, you know. 92 yards rushing. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Got to be better.
- 20:49Speaker 8: Got to get up about 120 because they got all
- 20:52Speaker 8: the– their wide receivers are so good because I think
- 20:56Speaker 8: Phil Horton was a great add. He fills in for Concepcion.
- 21:00Speaker 8: Bossy is playing a lot better than he played last year. Craver,
- 21:05Speaker 8: they probably didn't use him enough. When you have those options.
- 21:08Speaker 3: He was targeted five times, and you're right.
- 21:10Speaker 1: There's a lot of different weapons, but I would like
- 21:13Speaker 1: to see him targeted at least ten times a game.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I'd actually like to see him get ten touches a
- 21:19Speaker 1: game because he's electric, and I don't think we've seen...
- 21:24Speaker 1: And again... I started to say we haven't seen enough
- 21:27Speaker 1: of it. They couldn't save anything Saturday. It was a
- 21:31Speaker 1: four-point game. Like you said, Rusty, they were in danger
- 21:35Speaker 1: of losing that game for three quarters. Early in the
- 21:38Speaker 1: fourth quarter. Had they gotten that punt, had they marched
- 21:42Speaker 1: in there, who knows what the game turns out.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Cause you're at home. You're supposed to win. You're supposed
- 21:48Speaker 3: to win easily. I want to see Mario Craver touch
- 21:51Speaker 3: ball 10 times. I do too. I mean, he nearly
- 21:54Speaker 3: busted that one punt return. Um, I like the little
- 21:58Speaker 3: inside handoff to him. He got the first down on
- 22:01Speaker 3: that little inside.
- 22:03Speaker 8: Other than the drop punt, they're good on special teams.
- 22:06Speaker 8: The field goals are finally a given inside the 40.
- 22:09Speaker 1: You don't have to worry about what's going to happen.
- 22:12Speaker 3: That was nice to see.
- 22:13Speaker 8: They have a lot of the ingredients. I'm just hung
- 22:17Speaker 8: up about the offensive line.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I want to see what happens.
- 22:20Speaker 3: You're right.
- 22:21Speaker 9: I don't think, and I've heard it said many, many
- 22:24Speaker 9: times by many coaches, You cannot microwave an offensive line.
- 22:28Speaker 3: It has to gel. It takes time to gel. I
- 22:30Speaker 3: believe that. Four newcomers. Did you ask?
- 22:34Speaker 1: Somebody asked about that today, Cease. Everybody asked about it.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I didn't ask questions. I just waited and listened because
- 22:38Speaker 1: I knew everybody was going to ask about the offensive line.
- 22:40Speaker 1: About getting better, right.
- 22:41Speaker 8: And, you know, a lot of people, let's face it,
- 22:43Speaker 8: the media is always, you know, the coaches in waiting.
- 22:48Speaker 8: You have to ask yourself if indeed– Naboo is the
- 22:54Speaker 8: best lineman, would be better suited at guard or tackle. Now,
- 22:58Speaker 8: Cushing gets paid a lot. He's the old line coach.
- 23:00Speaker 8: But if you have who's your best player, where do
- 23:03Speaker 8: you put them? Like you said, Jalen, sometimes maybe you
- 23:06Speaker 8: move one guy here and one guy there, and suddenly
- 23:09Speaker 8: they play a lot better. I don't know if that's
- 23:11Speaker 8: the case, but it'll be interesting to see moving forward
- 23:13Speaker 8: what they do.
- 23:13Speaker 9: You know, I watched some of that Alabama-Kentucky game, and
- 23:16Speaker 9: it was a tale of two halves right there.
- 23:18Speaker 3: No doubt. Same kind of game.
- 23:20Speaker 9: So Alabama had five yards rushing at about the half, right?
- 23:24Speaker 3: They ended up with 155 yards rushing.
- 23:26Speaker 9: Do you realize in their last three games last year,
- 23:29Speaker 9: they rushed for like.
- 23:30Speaker 3: 28, 23, and minus three. Couldn't run the ball.
- 23:34Speaker 1: They had less than 50 yards in three games combined.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Couldn't run the ball. And then they ran for five
- 23:39Speaker 3: yards in the first half. Alabama is soft. I never
- 23:43Speaker 3: thought I would say that.
- 23:44Speaker 8: Here's what happened, Rusty, is the new way– Nick Saban
- 23:49Speaker 8: had prayed all Americans waiting to play in the offensive line.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right.
- 23:53Speaker 8: Now with NIL, they go, oh, I can get half
- 23:55Speaker 8: a million dollars and I can go play in Penn State.
- 23:58Speaker 5: I'm out of here.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Who cares about Alabama? Nick Saban took a really good
- 24:02Speaker 3: time to leave.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I was talking to my family about this last night.
- 24:05Speaker 1: We were discussing this, and he knew. He saw it
- 24:09Speaker 1: coming because he's very smart. He knew what it was
- 24:12Speaker 1: going to do. He knew that he was no longer
- 24:15Speaker 1: going to be able to dominate because of the money.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Because that's what he said.
- 24:22Speaker 1: He has everybody in right to talk about the season.
- 24:25Speaker 1: And right before he retired, he has his whole team
- 24:28Speaker 1: in and every player. He said every player asked, what
- 24:30Speaker 1: are you going to do for me? He said, that's
- 24:32Speaker 1: when I knew it was time to quit because it
- 24:35Speaker 1: was widely known and publicly. that players were coming there
- 24:40Speaker 1: and getting the, quote, Nick Saban discount because they knew.
- 24:44Speaker 3: They were going to the NFL.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Sure.
- 24:46Speaker 3: And that's what he did. He turned out NFL players.
- 24:49Speaker 1: And now it's like, hey, I can go to the
- 24:51Speaker 1: NFL and go play at UC Davis if they give
- 24:55Speaker 1: me enough money.
- 24:56Speaker 3: I like his commercials now. I mean, I really do.
- 24:58Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 25:00Speaker 3: This is a very talented guy. He's building his own shelves.
- 25:05Speaker 3: You know what? I wouldn't put it past him.
- 25:09Speaker 8: They can get NFL money right now by just switching schools.
- 25:13Speaker 3: I don't need Nick Saban.
- 25:17Speaker 1: But, I will say again, it's going to be a wild,
- 25:22Speaker 1: crazy season. In two weeks, we've already seen what can
- 25:29Speaker 1: happen and what's going to happen, it's going to be nuts.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like that Oklahoma State game. What does that
- 25:37Speaker 3: rank on your all-time upsets? Oh, it's way up there.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Because they just lost to Tulsa. I know. How bad
- 25:43Speaker 3: is Oklahoma State? It's Appalachian State, Michigan.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 3: I mean, it's up there. Oh, I laugh because when
- 25:49Speaker 3: you— Or Appalachian State A & M. Ah, you didn't
- 25:52Speaker 3: have to go there.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 25:53Speaker 3: You look at it two ways. Sorry.
- 25:55Speaker 8: Because, you know, when Oklahoma State lost last week to Tulsa,
- 26:00Speaker 8: you go, Oklahoma State, when you think they couldn't hit
- 26:02Speaker 8: rock bottom, they just did.
- 26:04Speaker 3: They lost to Tulsa.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:05Speaker 3: And you're thinking, like, they can't even beat an in-state sister.
- 26:09Speaker 8: And then next week, now you've got a top five
- 26:12Speaker 8: team coming to town.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Okay, so while we're on Oklahoma State season, you follow
- 26:19Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Oklahoma State opened this week.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Did you see this? 57.5 points over Murray State. I
- 26:30Speaker 1: have never, and you may have, I don't remember ever
- 26:35Speaker 1: seeing a spread at 57.5. See, it's already gone down
- 26:38Speaker 1: two points, which, as you know. It means there's been
- 26:41Speaker 1: a lot of money put on Murray State after that
- 26:44Speaker 1: 57-and-a-half came out. It's now 55-and-a-half.
- 26:47Speaker 8: It's the way the game's being played because you put
- 26:50Speaker 8: your subs in, and they're going to run up the
- 26:52Speaker 8: score because they want to throw the ball. They want
- 26:54Speaker 8: to catch the ball. They're not there to take the
- 26:56Speaker 8: knee and just run off tackle.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't see that anymore.
- 26:58Speaker 8: And it's pretty funny because I was reading somebody last,
- 27:00Speaker 8: whoever Kent State, I think it is, played in South Carolina,
- 27:04Speaker 8: like Kent State, had given up like 50 points or
- 27:08Speaker 8: more to like four or five power fours. The guy,
- 27:11Speaker 8: people said, just jump all over. And, of course, they
- 27:13Speaker 8: ended up losing by that many. I mean, the game
- 27:16Speaker 8: is just played. No one goes, oh, I'm going to
- 27:18Speaker 8: take the knee. We're just going to run straight in it. No,
- 27:20Speaker 8: you're going to put points up. But 57 and a half.
- 27:23Speaker 3: That's a lot.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I don't bet, and there's a reason for that. But
- 27:28Speaker 1: I would have seen that. That would have tempted me.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And I know that's why they put the line out there.
- 27:33Speaker 1: That's why the line's out there.
- 27:34Speaker 3: So you will bet.
- 27:36Speaker 8: And I chuckled when you talked about the money coming
- 27:40Speaker 8: in on the money line. For Oregon, a lot of
- 27:45Speaker 8: big gamblers say, oh, you know, hey, I'm only going
- 27:47Speaker 8: to get like X amount back on my $ 10, 000.
- 27:50Speaker 1: But it's a sure thing. I don't have $ 10, 000. How
- 27:53Speaker 1: many people lost $ 10, 000 and $ 100, 000?
- 27:55Speaker 13: 95%.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Unbelievable. That's amazing. But like you said, that's why we
- 28:00Speaker 3: love college football.
- 28:02Speaker 1: The reason Aggie fans are so happy right now is
- 28:06Speaker 1: they've covered two weeks in a row.
- 28:07Speaker 3: They've not only won. Yes, they have. But they've covered
- 28:09Speaker 3: two weeks in a row. It's 15-16, I think I saw.
- 28:12Speaker 10: Right.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Right at 15 or 16 with Kentucky.
- 28:16Speaker 8: It's the world of the NIL because everyone knows, even
- 28:19Speaker 8: the players know what the line is.
- 28:21Speaker 3: There are some really good games coming up this weekend, though.
- 28:24Speaker 3: There really are. We've got a few. We'll talk about
- 28:26Speaker 3: some of that. 16 and a half.
- 28:27Speaker 1: 16 and a half right now with Kentucky. Stay tuned
- 28:30Speaker 1: for Chip Howard's line. That's two more than it was
- 28:35Speaker 1: against Arizona State. Hey, Lake Walk development is going on.
- 28:39Speaker 1: The Lumen at Lake Walk. First class office experience. A
- 28:44Speaker 1: modern hub. State of the art.

- 28:55Speaker 1: They are building it right now. Right on the lake.
- 28:58Speaker 1: The Lumen at Lake Walk on Lake Atlas.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Go over to Lake Walk.

- 29:11Speaker 1: I mean, they've got a lot of stuff going on.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I know most of you have been, but if you haven't,
- 29:16Speaker 1: you need to go check that out. And when the
- 29:17Speaker 1: weather gets cooler, they have a lot of outdoor activities
- 29:21Speaker 1: scheduled around Lake Atlas with exercise teams. runs, yoga, that
- 29:28Speaker 1: kind of stuff. Hey, maybe we can get Lane over
- 29:30Speaker 1: to do some hot yoga. Go online at lakewalktx.com. lakewalktx.com.

- 32:22Speaker 1: It's the Writer's Roundtable for Monday. Brought to you by
- 32:26Speaker 1: First Financial Bank and InTech.
- 32:29Speaker 3: LSU Ole Miss this week. Is it going to get
- 32:32Speaker 3: better than that?
- 32:33Speaker 10: Maybe.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I don't know. I think SMU and Louisville is going
- 32:36Speaker 3: to be really entertaining. Oh, I think that's going to
- 32:37Speaker 3: be a good game.
- 32:38Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Entertaining game.
- 32:40Speaker 1: There's not going to be as much hatred. Let's talk
- 32:43Speaker 1: LSU Ole Miss first. Yeah. You know, you get concerned
- 32:48Speaker 1: because fans being fans and this game being at night
- 32:51Speaker 1: and there's already a lot of alcohol involved.
- 32:54Speaker 3: They have alcohol in Mississippi? Oh, man. The Grove? Moonshine, man.
- 32:59Speaker 3: They got good stuff. There's two places that stick out
- 33:02Speaker 3: to me for drinking. Okay. LSU?
- 33:05Speaker 1: No, no.
- 33:06Speaker 3: LSU, okay, three.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:08Speaker 3: But Bush Stadium in St.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Louis, I've never seen so much beer consumed before, during,
- 33:13Speaker 1: and after any game in my life, ever.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Well, it's named after a beer. I understand.
- 33:18Speaker 1: They come by it honestly. The Grove at Ole Miss, oh,
- 33:23Speaker 1: my gosh. And they have those rules. Everything's got to
- 33:24Speaker 1: be in a solo. There's some weirdest drinking rules I've
- 33:28Speaker 1: ever seen in the city of Oxford, right? Right.
- 33:31Speaker 3: And at the game.
- 33:31Speaker 1: But it is crazy the amount of alcohol that's available there.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 33:36Speaker 1: And they're going to have all day. It's going to
- 33:39Speaker 1: be a night game. The emotions are really, really, really high.
- 33:45Speaker 1: And you just, you hope that cooler heads prevail, right?
- 33:50Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not predicting anything. I don't want to
- 33:54Speaker 1: see anything ugly, but you just, all the ingredients are
- 33:59Speaker 1: there for things to get ugly. And if LSU were
- 34:01Speaker 1: to get a big lead or something in that game,
- 34:05Speaker 1: I'm just, I'm seriously concerned about what could happen at
- 34:09Speaker 1: that game Saturday night.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, that's a good point.
- 34:13Speaker 9: You would hope that, I mean, the best thing that
- 34:16Speaker 9: could happen for an Ole Miss fan.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Is to win. No doubt. Just win the game. No doubt.
- 34:23Speaker 3: He's gone. He ain't coming back.
- 34:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 34:26Speaker 9: And you don't want him back because he chose LSU
- 34:29Speaker 9: over your school.
- 34:30Speaker 3: So just beat him. And then dissed you on the
- 34:34Speaker 3: way out the door. Yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of emotion in that game. And
- 34:39Speaker 1: I saw LSU as an early three-point favorite in that game.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I thought it might be the other way just because
- 34:44Speaker 1: the home field. Because we've seen Ole Miss win some
- 34:48Speaker 1: games at home that they wouldn't have won anywhere else.
- 34:51Speaker 5: Historically, they have.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I think one year they beat LSU. What was the score?
- 34:54Speaker 3: It was unreal. And Alabama a couple of times. And Alabama.
- 34:58Speaker 8: That being said, you'd think Kiffin would be smart enough
- 35:02Speaker 8: not to go to the Grove four hours at a
- 35:05Speaker 8: time and see his buddies.
- 35:06Speaker 3: He's probably not going to do that. That's what I'm guessing.
- 35:09Speaker 8: But if one guy can handle that circus on the
- 35:12Speaker 8: other side, it's Kiffin.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I think he thrives on it. He's going to love it.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I think he thrives on it. I tell you why
- 35:18Speaker 1: I like Ole Miss. Not only the emotion, but sometimes
- 35:22Speaker 1: there can be too much of that. But I still
- 35:24Speaker 1: love the quarterback. I think Levitt's going to have a
- 35:26Speaker 1: rough time. I think he will. I still love the quarterback.
- 35:30Speaker 3: I'm with you.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I mean, you know, when in doubt. Okay, you mentioned
- 35:34Speaker 1: SMU Louisville, Rusty. I think that's going to be a
- 35:36Speaker 1: highly entertaining, high-scoring football.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 35:39Speaker 9: Of course, I saw Louisville and Ole Miss play, and
- 35:41Speaker 9: that was a really entertaining game.
- 35:43Speaker 3: What's the spread on that? It is minus one and
- 35:46Speaker 3: a half. By who? Probably Louisville. Oh, Louisville is favored
- 35:53Speaker 3: by a point and a half. Okay.
- 35:54Speaker 11: Man.
- 35:55Speaker 3: I think that's going to be a heck of a
- 35:57Speaker 3: football game. Well, Louisville really impressed me when they played
- 36:00Speaker 3: Ole Miss. They did.
- 36:01Speaker 1: And that quarterback in the second half, he got better.
- 36:03Speaker 1: He showed he can play, right? We know the SMU
- 36:08Speaker 1: quarterback can play, but he gives the ball away.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah, he's turnover prone.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he's very turnover prone. But he's also prone to make.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Up for those turnovers. He takes chances. He does. That's
- 36:16Speaker 3: how he scores. Houston, Texas Tech.
- 36:19Speaker 5: And love it.
- 36:21Speaker 3: I'm surprised to see.
- 36:24Speaker 1: We know that's a hard place to play. But I
- 36:26Speaker 1: think this is an afternoon game. Would you check that
- 36:29Speaker 1: for me? I also think it is an afternoon game. Okay,
- 36:32Speaker 1: so Houston got a break on that.
- 36:34Speaker 3: It's a Friday night game. Oh, it is night game.
- 36:36Speaker 3: It's Friday night? Yeah, Friday night. That's a hard place
- 36:39Speaker 3: to play. In the fact that Tech's coming off a
- 36:41Speaker 3: poor outing. Tech was not impressive to me. So I
- 36:44Speaker 3: think Tech will be out to prove.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Do you know that's the first non-conference road game Texas
- 36:49Speaker 1: Tech has won in like seven or eight years? Really?
- 36:51Speaker 3: I don't believe it.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Yeah, because their schedule has always been directional schools at home,
- 36:55Speaker 1: their non-conference schedule. They hadn't won a non-conference road game
- 37:01Speaker 1: since 2017, I believe. And they almost lost that one
- 37:04Speaker 1: to a really, really average or below Oregon State. Without
- 37:08Speaker 1: a doubt, Oregon State's not that good. So they did
- 37:10Speaker 1: not impress me. Without a doubt, not that good.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Their quarterback did not impress me. So Miami plays Friday night, too.
- 37:17Speaker 3: They play at Wake Forest. That's their second Friday night game. See,
- 37:20Speaker 3: people are missing out on Miami. Did y'all happen to
- 37:22Speaker 3: see Purdue in Wake Forest? No, but I saw that online.
- 37:25Speaker 3: I mean, Purdue fans are celebrating because they think they
- 37:29Speaker 3: won the game.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 37:30Speaker 9: And then Wake Forest gets the first down. They go
- 37:33Speaker 9: back and they review the first down.
- 37:35Speaker 5: That was overtime, wasn't it?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yes, it was.
- 37:37Speaker 9: It turned out to be overtime, two overtimes. It was overtime,
- 37:39Speaker 9: second overtime. And they thought they got it even short
- 37:42Speaker 9: of the first down. Matter of fact, they ruled it first,
- 37:45Speaker 9: short of the first down. They got it right when
- 37:48Speaker 9: they reviewed it. And then saw all those fans who
- 37:50Speaker 9: had been cheering and, you know, Purdue's first win.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'm just telling you, we've got to get used to
- 37:55Speaker 1: this this year. I'm just telling you. It's going to
- 37:59Speaker 1: be wild. I'm waffling on Houston and Texas Tech. I
- 38:04Speaker 1: love Willie Fritz. I think Wegman is a better quarterback
- 38:08Speaker 1: than Texas Tech has right now. I was astonished because
- 38:13Speaker 1: Tech's defense is supposed to be what they're hanging their
- 38:16Speaker 1: hat on. I'm telling you, Oregon State has an NFL player.
- 38:20Speaker 1: This freshman kid, Legree, caught like 240 yards worth of
- 38:25Speaker 1: passes on Saturday. I mean, they could not cover him.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Wow. Could not cover him. Yeah.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Well, he has to stay. He can't go to the NFL,
- 38:35Speaker 1: but he won't be at Oregon State.
- 38:37Speaker 3: By the way. He'll be making a lot of money.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Talk about drinking places. They do some drinking in Lubbock.
- 38:42Speaker 3: They do a little.
- 38:42Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they do a little drinking in Lubbock.
- 38:44Speaker 8: At night.
- 38:45Speaker 1: It's a night.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Game, but it is on Friday. But that won't matter.
- 38:49Speaker 3: That will be drinking all day in Lubbock on Friday anyway.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Even though you have to go outside the city limit.
- 38:54Speaker 3: That's why you text it like a 7.5 point favorite
- 38:56Speaker 3: in that game. Something like that. I may have to...
- 39:00Speaker 3: They opened at 12.5 and now it's 7.5. Wow! I
- 39:05Speaker 3: think that's because of text. Mattress Mac.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I think it's the Tech-Oregon State game.
- 39:12Speaker 3: I'm sure you're right.
- 39:13Speaker 1: I mean, you watch that game and you're going, they're
- 39:16Speaker 1: not as.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Good as I thought they were. I wouldn't touch that.
- 39:18Speaker 3: But again, it's only game two. I know. It's only
- 39:23Speaker 3: game two.
- 39:25Speaker 9: You know another good game that is underrated is BYU
- 39:29Speaker 9: and Colorado State.
- 39:30Speaker 3: I didn't know Colorado State was good. But they always
- 39:33Speaker 3: play well against BYU.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Did Colorado and Colorado State play this year? Because I've
- 39:37Speaker 1: always loved that game, too. Yeah. They don't like each other.
- 39:40Speaker 1: They don't like each other. It's always an underrated game.
- 39:43Speaker 3: They do not play. Oh, man. That's a shame. Save
- 39:45Speaker 3: it for the playoffs.
- 39:46Speaker 1: All right, we're going to take a break. It's the
- 39:47Speaker 1: Writer's Roundtable for a Monday. Thanks for being with us.
- 39:50Speaker 1: This portion of the program, the entire second hour of

- 41:20Speaker 15: against the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Final score, 7-6.
- 41:25Speaker 15: Corey Seager got the scoring kicked off early with a
- 41:28Speaker 15: two-run homer in the first inning.
- 41:30Speaker 3: And to the plate, and there's a swing and a
- 41:32Speaker 3: blast deep right center field. This one's way back, and
- 41:35Speaker 3: that one is history.
- 41:37Speaker 15: Call courtesy of Eric Nadel and the Rangers Radio Network.
- 41:41Speaker 15: Arizona would cut the lead in half in the fourth,
- 41:44Speaker 15: but the Rangers went on to score four unanswered runs
- 41:47Speaker 15: in the fifth and sixth innings. Arizona would manage to
- 41:50Speaker 15: cut the deficit to one in the ninth, but the
- 41:52Speaker 15: Rangers held on to win their first road series since June.
- 41:56Speaker 15: The Rangers will be back in action tomorrow night against
- 41:59Speaker 15: the Boston Red Sox. First pitch at 7.05, coverage on
- 42:03Speaker 15: the Rangers Sports Network. With your Texas Rangers report, I'm

- 42:47Speaker 3: Love is a burden. That's the great John Arkash.
- 42:50Speaker 1: It is the Writer's Roundtable for a Monday. Aggie football,
- 42:56Speaker 1: college football on the bill. A lot of things happening
- 43:02Speaker 1: and a little better slate of games this week. I
- 43:08Speaker 1: tell you, I played some Eric Morris, the Oklahoma State coach,
- 43:11Speaker 1: in his postgame, watched his postgame. Really impressed just with
- 43:15Speaker 1: his demeanor. after winning such a huge game. It wasn't
- 43:20Speaker 1: anything like Sarkeesian, by the way. He was calm. He
- 43:24Speaker 1: was collected. He said, look, we were really, really hard
- 43:29Speaker 1: on them after last week. He said, you know, as
- 43:32Speaker 1: hard as I've ever been. And he said, guess what?
- 43:36Speaker 1: They did respond the right way. And he said, so
- 43:40Speaker 1: now we know how we're going to coach this team.
- 43:44Speaker 3: And I love that.
- 43:45Speaker 1: He said, I know how this team is going to
- 43:48Speaker 1: respond now, and this is how we're going to coach
- 43:51Speaker 1: going forward. And I don't know if Oklahoma State's any good.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I really don't. But I know they have a quarterback.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I know they have a shot to win most of
- 44:01Speaker 1: the games.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, when he was, what he did
- 44:03Speaker 3: at North Texas Impressive. Impressive, yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 8: And then when I took like 20 players with him,
- 44:08Speaker 8: I said, oh, that's going to be a big improvement.
- 44:10Speaker 8: Then they lay a neg against Tulsa, and I just
- 44:13Speaker 8: basically mentally turned them off.
- 44:15Speaker 3: No doubt, cross them off, right?
- 44:16Speaker 8: But they're at Kyle Field watching. They go, look what
- 44:19Speaker 8: Oklahoma State's doing. And I go, holy cow.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Actually, they lost to Tulsa. I even said, I mean,
- 44:24Speaker 3: how bad? How far rock bottom can they get?
- 44:28Speaker 1: But again, they had started that slide under Gundy. And
- 44:33Speaker 1: we've talked so often how hard it is to get back.
- 44:37Speaker 1: And especially for the Oklahoma States of the world. And
- 44:40Speaker 1: especially after T.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Boone died. They don't have his money anymore.
- 44:45Speaker 1: And they didn't have it about the last two years
- 44:47Speaker 1: because Gundy really angered him.
- 44:50Speaker 3: And it started that kind of slide.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Now, I know there's other oil people in Oklahoma that
- 44:57Speaker 1: Oklahoma State can use, but I like the hire right now.
- 45:02Speaker 1: They may be one in ten for all I know
- 45:04Speaker 1: when the season's.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 45:05Speaker 1: But like I said, if Mestermaker is healthy, they're going
- 45:11Speaker 1: to have a shot.
- 45:12Speaker 8: Here's the deal. Think about college football today. I think
- 45:15Speaker 8: it was like 20 players you brought with them.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Yep, from North Texas. Winning culture in North Texas.
- 45:18Speaker 15: Yep.
- 45:19Speaker 8: You've got to remember, they came to Oklahoma State to
- 45:22Speaker 8: get more money. They got more money. Now, even if
- 45:24Speaker 8: they lost that first game. It's just like Curt Cignetti
- 45:26Speaker 8: did at James Madison. They lost that first game. They're
- 45:29Speaker 8: still really workers. I mean, they're getting paid. And they
- 45:33Speaker 8: probably said, hey, you're not earning your money. And I
- 45:35Speaker 8: get it. College football is.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Still in motion when you look at the home crowd.
- 45:39Speaker 3: That place they say was electric. Oh, I want to
- 45:40Speaker 3: speak to that.
- 45:41Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 45:41Speaker 8: And the deal is, but these guys are really professionals.
- 45:45Speaker 8: These guys that came from North Carolina State, North Texas,
- 45:49Speaker 8: call them a little bit of carpetbaggers. But I give
- 45:51Speaker 8: them credit because they come out and they did the job.
- 45:53Speaker 3: So that's a great point.
- 45:54Speaker 1: You know, I'm thinking about this when I'm watching games
- 45:58Speaker 1: all day and I'm seeing.
- 46:00Speaker 5: All these emotions, right? And these are.
- 46:04Speaker 1: A few of these guys, not all, and I don't
- 46:06Speaker 1: want to paint it as all, but a few of
- 46:07Speaker 1: these guys are millionaires, right?
- 46:09Speaker 3: They're multi-millionaires. There's more than a few.
- 46:12Speaker 5: There's more than a few.
- 46:13Speaker 3: More than a few, yeah. But you look at them
- 46:16Speaker 3: and you see how important it is for.
- 46:18Speaker 5: Them to win.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Now, they may not be playing for the old hometown
- 46:22Speaker 1: team anymore, right?
- 46:24Speaker 3: But they're still really passionate about the game, right?
- 46:28Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 1: And they seem to be passionate mostly about the team
- 46:35Speaker 1: that's paying them a lot of money. And, you know,
- 46:37Speaker 1: as a fan, you look down, if you're losing. What
- 46:41Speaker 1: are you going to say? We're paying this guy $ 3 million.
- 46:44Speaker 3: He's terrible, right?
- 46:45Speaker 1: That's what these guys now are going to deal with.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Like you said, Cease, just like professionals. They're going to
- 46:52Speaker 1: get booed like professionals because they're professionals.
- 46:54Speaker 9: Well, you're watching anymore, and you're like, Isaiah Horton, okay.
- 47:00Speaker 3: He played for Miami. Oh, he played for Alabama. Now
- 47:02Speaker 3: he plays for Texas A & M. It's like boom, boom, boom.
- 47:05Speaker 8: But if you're also Horton, think about it. You come
- 47:08Speaker 8: to Cal Field. You come to one of the meccas
- 47:10Speaker 8: of college football. More than likely, he's going to have
- 47:14Speaker 8: a better environment there than he does wherever he gets
- 47:16Speaker 8: picked in the NFL. And he's already making NFL money.
- 47:20Speaker 8: He's just excited. Think about if he loves the game,
- 47:22Speaker 8: there's not a better place to play than Kyle Field.
- 47:25Speaker 3: And he's making X amount of dollars. This is a
- 47:28Speaker 3: great deal for him. Well, yeah, I mean, you've got
- 47:31Speaker 3: millionaires all over the field. I mean, it's like guys
- 47:34Speaker 3: that are making more than the coaches. I mean, more
- 47:38Speaker 3: than the position coaches.
- 47:39Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure.
- 47:39Speaker 8: Like Smith, he's got to be the highest-paid college football
- 47:42Speaker 8: player maybe, and he proved it.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith?
- 47:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Saturday, that guy's a man of my voice. Yeah, they're
- 47:48Speaker 3: underpaying him. Somebody else will pay him more if he
- 47:52Speaker 3: doesn't make the year left. But you're lucky. But?
- 47:56Speaker 1: He dropped two passes in the second half.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Yes, he did. And he didn't do anything in the
- 48:00Speaker 3: fourth quarter.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Of course, they didn't throw the ball a lot, but
- 48:03Speaker 1: whatever kid that was that they put on him, they
- 48:06Speaker 1: found somebody that could give him some problems, finally. Right?
- 48:10Speaker 3: I mean, but yeah, he's a man.
- 48:14Speaker 1: I've already said Malachi Toney's already jumped up in my Heisman,
- 48:18Speaker 1: you know, balloting the first two games. He did nothing
- 48:21Speaker 1: last Friday, and I watched him again last Friday night.
- 48:23Speaker 1: They're playing a terrible team.
- 48:24Speaker 3: I get it. Terrible team.
- 48:25Speaker 8: I'll watch this Harris guy from Arizona State, see what
- 48:28Speaker 8: he does in the next five or six games.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Reed Harris was good.
- 48:32Speaker 3: He may have been the best player on the field.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Bottom line, as a college football fan.
- 48:37Speaker 1: T.J.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Searcy was pretty good Saturday.
- 48:39Speaker 10: Yeah, he was.
- 48:39Speaker 3: There's a lot of good games out there. We hadn't
- 48:42Speaker 3: even really talked about Marcel. I thought he was just
- 48:44Speaker 3: pretty average. He was average Saturday. There's no doubt about it.
- 48:48Speaker 9: He focuses on his receivers too much. Like that interception
- 48:53Speaker 9: first play.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Out of the half.
- 48:54Speaker 9: I mean, he was looking at the receiver the entire
- 48:58Speaker 9: way and didn't even see the safety over there.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Didn't have good form either. I've got to.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I've got a theory on Marcel and most college and
- 49:09Speaker 1: pro quarterbacks.
- 49:11Speaker 3: It's a really hard position to play. It is.
- 49:15Speaker 1: It is a really hard position to play. And one
- 49:21Speaker 1: of the reasons it's hard is because we're sitting here
- 49:23Speaker 1: on Monday going, you know, you didn't play very well.
- 49:26Speaker 8: You need to pick things up.
- 49:28Speaker 1: I know your team won by 28, but you didn't
- 49:30Speaker 1: play very well.
- 49:31Speaker 3: You're going to have to be better. It is a
- 49:33Speaker 3: really difficult.
- 49:35Speaker 1: But now, again, These guys, if you're playing here or
- 49:39Speaker 1: whatever big school in college football, you're going to pay
- 49:43Speaker 1: a lot of money to produce.
- 49:44Speaker 3: And that's, you know.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I bet he makes more than you do. Yeah, a
- 49:48Speaker 1: little bit more. That's how you're going to be judged.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I mean, that's just, that is.
- 49:53Speaker 1: The nature of what we're dealing with today, right? Because
- 49:56Speaker 1: you're going to be judged by it. It's like, hey,
- 49:58Speaker 1: we're paying you not.
- 50:00Speaker 3: To be judged.
- 50:00Speaker 1: 15 of 25 or whatever.
- 50:03Speaker 3: For 163.
- 50:04Speaker 1: We're paying you to be 20 of 25 for 300.
- 50:07Speaker 13: Right.
- 50:09Speaker 1: And, you know, again, I don't know. Maybe there were
- 50:12Speaker 1: a couple of bad routes run, right? Maybe the guy
- 50:16Speaker 1: missed a.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Block on somebody. Well, he was under pressure. There's no doubt.
- 50:19Speaker 8: And luckily, we know Marcel Reed would be the first
- 50:23Speaker 8: to tell you he didn't play well.
- 50:24Speaker 1: You know, the kid, it's hard not to like this kid.
- 50:26Speaker 1: He's a straightforward guy. He is a high-character kid. The
- 50:29Speaker 1: team loves him. That's what you want playing quarterback. That
- 50:33Speaker 1: is who you want as your quarterback. And that's who
- 50:36Speaker 1: you want representing your university.
- 50:38Speaker 3: I'm just going to tell you right now.
- 50:40Speaker 1: They're going to lose some games this year, and people
- 50:43Speaker 1: are going to be pissed off about it. And he's
- 50:46Speaker 1: probably going to be right at the top of their
- 50:48Speaker 1: target list. But I will tell you again, if I
- 50:51Speaker 1: represent that university, I want this kid on my side.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Here's the deal. Coaches and quarterbacks, they probably get too
- 50:59Speaker 3: much blame. And they probably don't get enough credit.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Which is why they make all the money and get
- 51:03Speaker 1: all the publicity.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Yeah, we talked about that defense, too.
- 51:06Speaker 9: And I liked Saka almost getting to the quarterback a
- 51:10Speaker 9: couple times.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. He's twitchy. Speaking about him, man. He is twitchy.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Man among boys. Yes, he is.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Yes, he is.
- 51:17Speaker 3: He's a beast.
- 51:18Speaker 5: Yes.
- 51:18Speaker 3: I wouldn't want to block him. He is twitchy. Was
- 51:21Speaker 3: that Pat Forty's list of freaks?
- 51:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Who does the freak list?
- 51:24Speaker 12: Yes.
- 51:24Speaker 3: He was on that list. I'd say, here's $ 1, 000.
- 51:26Speaker 8: Go hit the guy beside me.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Yeah. He stood out as well.
- 51:33Speaker 8: You know, Phil Mickelson used to bet during what the
- 51:36Speaker 8: round was going on.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Oh, he bet with everything.
- 51:39Speaker 8: If I had a guy like Saka coming over me,
- 51:41Speaker 8: I'd say, hey, how much do I got to pay.
- 51:42Speaker 3: You to go the other side? You don't want to
- 51:44Speaker 3: face him. No, he got real close to a couple sacks. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 51:48Speaker 3: So I think he's going to get there.
- 51:51Speaker 10: Did he?
- 51:51Speaker 1: You guys probably didn't watch. You were watching the Rangers.
- 51:54Speaker 1: You didn't watch any U.S. Open tennis, did you?
- 51:56Speaker 3: I did not. Okay. So the great Jimmy Connors was
- 52:00Speaker 3: there yesterday.
- 52:00Speaker 12: Oh, wow.
- 52:01Speaker 1: He handed out the trophy. I hadn't seen him in
- 52:03Speaker 1: so long. I'm just a huge Jimmy Connors guy because he.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Was my age. Has he got long hair yet?
- 52:09Speaker 11: No.
- 52:10Speaker 12: No.
- 52:10Speaker 1: But he's still got his hair, and he still looks good.
- 52:14Speaker 1: I had some– we're rocking some glasses, but he looked good.
- 52:18Speaker 1: But I hadn't seen him in forever. Can he be
- 52:21Speaker 1: bored yet?
- 52:23Speaker 3: You know, McEnroe is up in the booth, right? Uh-huh.
- 52:29Speaker 1: And everybody has said they would love to see him
- 52:31Speaker 1: back in the game in some form or function.
- 52:33Speaker 10: Sure.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Because McEnroe is right in the middle of the game, right?
- 52:36Speaker 1: And Andy Roddick. Now, Andy Roddick, you need to listen
- 52:39Speaker 1: to him do color in tennis because this guy's a star.
- 52:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 52:43Speaker 10: Right?
- 52:44Speaker 1: He's like Romo when he first came up. You understand
- 52:47Speaker 1: what I'm saying?
- 52:48Speaker 10: Right.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Everybody's raving about Romo. And Andy Roddick is brilliant as
- 52:54Speaker 1: a color analyst.
- 52:55Speaker 3: He is really good.
- 52:57Speaker 1: And what makes, in my opinion, color analysts good, Johnny
- 53:01Speaker 1: Miller was one of the best ever. He's not afraid
- 53:04Speaker 1: to criticize, but he's not doing it just to get headlines.
- 53:09Speaker 1: He's doing it from a perspective that you look at,
- 53:13Speaker 1: and he's doing it matter-of-factly. He's not trying to get
- 53:17Speaker 1: clicks or any of that. He's just telling you what happened.
- 53:21Speaker 1: That's what makes a good color analyst, in my opinion.
- 53:24Speaker 1: The golfers hated Johnny Miller.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Yes, they did. Because he used the words chose.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Spoke the truth. And he spoke the truth. They hated
- 53:30Speaker 1: him because they're used to not getting all of that.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Because all the golf people are.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Like, oh, this guy's the best, blah, blah, blah. Johnny Miller,
- 53:37Speaker 3: come on. He'd tell people what he thought. He's got
- 53:39Speaker 3: the hips. Yeah, he's got the yips.
- 53:42Speaker 1: You brought up a good point. We're going to see
- 53:44Speaker 1: Tony Romo this year. He's going to have to sit
- 53:46Speaker 1: out a year. I think he's going to sit out
- 53:48Speaker 1: a year. I think he'll be at some other network
- 53:51Speaker 1: next year. That's what I think. I don't think you're
- 53:53Speaker 1: going to see him this year.
- 53:54Speaker 3: I read his apology. Yeah, I hate it for him.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Of course you do.
- 53:59Speaker 5: I hate it.
- 53:59Speaker 1: But, you know, you have to– there's consequences for your actions.
- 54:05Speaker 3: You have to have consequences. For his family, but he
- 54:08Speaker 3: should have hired a driver. Okay.
- 54:10Speaker 1: That kills me with these guys. Of course, Tiger now
- 54:15Speaker 1: has to have a driver for, what, five years? He
- 54:18Speaker 1: got his license suspended, I think, for five years. He
- 54:20Speaker 1: has to have a driver. These guys, why don't you
- 54:23Speaker 1: hire a driver? Now, I know Tiger's cheap. He's notoriously cheap.
- 54:27Speaker 1: But it's like, hey, get a damn driver, Tiger. Right?
- 54:32Speaker 3: And quit drinking so much.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Right. I mean.
- 54:35Speaker 8: You see these guys have everything, and you go, like,
- 54:38Speaker 8: how could you do that? Well, people can say the
- 54:40Speaker 8: same thing about us.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I think people say that about me every day. What
- 54:52Speaker 1: are you talking about, you idiot? I might as well
- 54:56Speaker 1: be a quarterback, but I just don't make the money.
- 54:58Speaker 3: A quarterback makes. So you're saying, like, Johnny Miller would
- 55:01Speaker 3: call out Greg Norman for choking?
- 55:03Speaker 11: Yes.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Oh, he would have been Greg Norman's worst nightmare at
- 55:06Speaker 1: that Masters.
- 55:07Speaker 3: There's no doubt about that.
- 55:08Speaker 9: Because Greg Norman choked it off quite a few times.
- 55:11Speaker 3: He did. He'd have gray hair. Bless his heart. He did.
- 55:14Speaker 3: But you know what?
- 55:15Speaker 1: I will say this about Greg Norman. No one likes
- 55:17Speaker 1: Greg Norman. I don't know him, and I don't care.
- 55:19Speaker 1: But he was always, after a dreadful loss, he was
- 55:26Speaker 1: always up front. He would always look in the camera
- 55:30Speaker 1: and answer the questions.
- 55:31Speaker 3: You know, not too many people do that anymore. Steve
- 55:34Speaker 3: Sarkeesian wouldn't do it, and he won the damn game
- 55:37Speaker 3: on Saturday night. You're right.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I mean, not everybody has the grace that that guy,
- 55:41Speaker 1: and he had experience.
- 55:42Speaker 3: I give you, but you know what? He had the choke, baby.
- 55:45Speaker 3: He had the choke. But he had.
- 55:46Speaker 1: The grace every single time to answer people's questions.
- 55:52Speaker 3: I like Greg Norman. So I'll always, being in.
- 55:54Speaker 1: The business, I'll always admire him for that. I don't
- 55:56Speaker 1: know what kind of person he is, but for that,
- 55:58Speaker 1: I'll always admire him.
- 55:59Speaker 3: I had a couple Greg Norman golf shirts, too.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Hey, a lot of people did, which is why he's
- 56:04Speaker 1: living where he is and has the yacht that he
- 56:07Speaker 1: does and the toys that he does.
- 56:09Speaker 3: And he was a nice guy, and that's part of
- 56:10Speaker 3: why he was able to do that. And you know what?
- 56:12Speaker 3: They pay second place pretty good money, too. Yes, they do.
- 56:15Speaker 3: He made a fortune on that kind of stuff. He
- 56:17Speaker 3: made a lot of second place money. And he was
- 56:18Speaker 3: a smart businessman. Yes, he was. Gentlemen. We'll have more
- 56:23Speaker 3: games to talk about Monday. That's the beauty. I'll have
- 56:26Speaker 3: another game under my belt. I'll be better next week.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I'd like to say I would, but I'm sure I won't.
