Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Reality TV Cringe. I am one
- 0:14Speaker 1: of your hosts, Delia the Redhead, here with my real
- 0:18Speaker 1: Tight Homegirl and my daughter in law Bitchall. We are
- 0:24Speaker 1: back to talk sister wives. We are in the rewind era.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We are in season five, and as I understand it,
- 0:33Speaker 1: we're actually going to cover two episodes. Yes, but they
- 0:37Speaker 1: were shorter. They were both like a half an hour each.
- 0:39Speaker 1: We're going to combine them. So we've got some things
- 0:42Speaker 1: to talk about today. But before we get into it,
- 0:45Speaker 1: we do have to issue you a disclaimer. Please hid
- 0:49Speaker 1: your wife and hijr kids. This is a politically incorrect podcast.
- 0:54Speaker 1: We say a lot of bad words, we have dumb opinions,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and we're not going to apologize for it. I don't
- 1:00Speaker 1: know about you, absolutely not.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So if you're.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You, but if you're down and ready to get into

- 1:29Speaker 1: It's so good. You gotta check it out. If you
- 1:32Speaker 1: are watching on YouTube, please don't forget to like and

- 1:40Speaker 1: us to grow, and that is what we want to do.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We want to get bigger, we want to get fluffier,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we wanna get fatter. So thank you, thank you. Now
- 1:50Speaker 1: do correct me if I'm wrong, But I heard a
- 1:52Speaker 1: little birdie in the dumpster say that somebody has called
- 1:55Speaker 1: our speak pipe again about the Sister Wives. And now,
- 1:59Speaker 1: if you want to call us and if you want
- 2:01Speaker 1: to pop off for ninety seconds for free and give
- 2:04Speaker 1: us your opinion on all of the shows that we're
- 2:06Speaker 1: watching and or on how beautiful we are, all you
- 2:09Speaker 1: have to do is go to speak by dot com
- 2:11Speaker 1: slash reality TV cringe. That's speak by Doc God slash Rene.
- 2:17Speaker 1: We would love to hear from your so who rang Well,
- 2:21Speaker 1: we have Raccoon Rachel okay, and she's got I think
- 2:25Speaker 1: a comment about the Sister Wives trailer. Maybe, oh god,
- 2:28Speaker 1: we do have to get into it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: We do have to talk about that.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Hey, B and D. Raccoon Rachel here from Seattle. I
- 2:34Speaker 2: wanted to call out something Robin said in the season
- 2:37Speaker 2: nineteen trailer. She said that she's struggling with losing respect
- 2:41Speaker 2: for Cody. In previous seasons, Cody talks about love and respect.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Remember when he said love doesn't matter to me, respect does.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And if you don't respect me, don't bother with the love.
- 2:52Speaker 2: This tells me that he's read the Christian self help
- 2:55Speaker 2: book Love and Respect by doctor Emerson Egris, which details
- 2:59Speaker 2: how women mainly need to be adored to be shown love,
- 3:03Speaker 2: whereas men need respect. So when Robin says that she's
- 3:07Speaker 2: losing respect for him, the subtext there is that she's
- 3:11Speaker 2: falling out of love with him, and she used that
- 3:14Speaker 2: language very specifically so that the impact would land. What
- 3:18Speaker 2: do you guys think?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Have you read that book?
- 3:20Speaker 1: I have not read that book. I have not even
- 3:22Speaker 1: heard of that book. Me neither, But I think that
- 3:24Speaker 1: sounds really fascinating and I like her theory about it.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Although in that particular scene in the trailer, and for
- 3:32Speaker 1: those of you who might not know, but I mean
- 3:34Speaker 1: if you're listening to us or watching us, you already
- 3:36Speaker 1: know that. The season nineteen trailer dropped, it was like
- 3:39Speaker 1: a two and a half minute trailer. It was liddy,
- 3:41Speaker 1: like a titty. But there's a scene with Robin and
- 3:45Speaker 1: Cody filming outside in the snow because she's still not
- 3:47Speaker 1: letting production into her McMansion. Her hoarder house enter to
- 3:51Speaker 1: Kenzie and Villain. So they're standing outside and Robin is
- 3:56Speaker 1: saying that she's losing respect for Cody. Like, my feeling
- 3:59Speaker 1: about that was that it was very staged.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I agree.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I didn't believe a bit of that me neither.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I felt like she was just saying that for the
- 4:06Speaker 3: cameras because she's the last wife left and it would
- 4:09Speaker 3: be like shock value if she ended up leaving. But
- 4:12Speaker 3: I don't think she's gonna leave.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I think she's kind of doing what she has always done,
- 4:18Speaker 1: which is pretending to have the same opinion of the
- 4:22Speaker 1: other wives so that she can have the appearance of
- 4:25Speaker 1: some kind of allyship. And also I think she absolutely
- 4:30Speaker 1: knows in this moment that everybody hates her Honey, and
- 4:33Speaker 1: everybody hates Cody, everybody hates her sector of the Brown family,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and so she's trying to put on the appearance of
- 4:42Speaker 1: dissent and having a different opinion. I do not believe it, though.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I think she's orchestrated this the entire time. I think
- 4:48Speaker 1: this is fake, a f Now if it.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Weren't, I mean, that would be if it were authentic,
- 4:54Speaker 3: that would be so I'd be like, yes, Robin, his
- 4:58Speaker 3: veils are falling away, Oh my god. And I mean
- 5:02Speaker 3: I could see that as a possibility because to watch
- 5:05Speaker 3: him lose all these wives and then go on a
- 5:08Speaker 3: tirade where you just look like an absolute fucking monster
- 5:12Speaker 3: the last four seasons, and thus make Robin look like
- 5:15Speaker 3: a fucking monster as well, Like maybe there's a world
- 5:19Speaker 3: where she could be losing some respect and falling out
- 5:21Speaker 3: of love with him, because how could you be in
- 5:24Speaker 3: love with somebody?
- 5:25Speaker 1: How could you love Cody Brown fat?
- 5:28Speaker 3: I mean so maybe, but I guess we're gonna have
- 5:31Speaker 3: to see. I thought that scene though, was totally stated.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I'm like, why are we out in this snow?
- 5:36Speaker 1: Right?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Why can't we go in your fucking house? Right? I
- 5:39Speaker 3: don't understand.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And it looked to me like this is footage from
- 5:44Speaker 1: around the time of the Look Back Tell All or
- 5:47Speaker 1: whatever the talk back look back that they did. Yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 1: there was like like, we're actually going to go in
- 5:52Speaker 1: depth into the season nineteen trailer on our Patreon. You
- 5:56Speaker 1: we're gonna play it, We're gonna talk about it. We're
- 5:58Speaker 1: gonna we have comments and open but just like at
- 6:02Speaker 1: first blush, I'm like, this.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Looks like a lot of footage.
- 6:05Speaker 1: From the last two seasons, not just last last season
- 6:08Speaker 1: was using footage from the season before. Like, I think
- 6:11Speaker 1: we're still using some of that footage, and it's crazy
- 6:14Speaker 1: to me. It's wild and Cody looks as toxic and
- 6:19Speaker 1: poisonous and venomous and red pilled and testosterone out as ever. Ooh,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I don't like him, honey.
- 6:27Speaker 3: It is not a good look.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I don't prefer that man, and it is not curls
- 6:32Speaker 1: are curling, honey. They are so tight, they are curls.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Those curls are crazier than your curls. I know he
- 6:40Speaker 1: has the flagrant audacity to wear that hair on television.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Because Robin styled it for him.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It's so terrible because we're in the rewind right now
- 6:53Speaker 1: so we can kind of see him season five three. Yes,
- 6:58Speaker 1: definitely flat iron hair. He's losing the hair, but it's
- 7:01Speaker 1: still better than the Shirley Temple.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I don't know. I think they're both really bad, but
- 7:07Speaker 3: I guess I would probably prefer the flatter and hair, yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 3: because it's a little bit more, it's got more volume.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, surely I would prefer just to rip it out
- 7:16Speaker 1: of his head, just shave it. Said, my god, I
- 7:20Speaker 1: do not like this man. I do not like him
- 7:22Speaker 1: at all. And I don't know, Like when I watched
- 7:24Speaker 1: the premiere, I got this like pang of oh my god,
- 7:28Speaker 1: we're going back in like this pang of oh it
- 7:31Speaker 1: is so dark. Oh he is such a vile individual.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Like I got rage, and I was just like, oh fuck,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I gotta brace myself. Yep, you gotta take because your
- 7:38Speaker 1: blood pressure going to be screaming into the void. Oh yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 1: on this podcast.
- 7:42Speaker 3: I can't wait. September fifteenth, bitches.
- 7:45Speaker 1: All right, let's get into season five. Episode was it
- 7:48Speaker 1: six and seven or five and six?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Okay, so the first episode is mourning the loss, and
- 7:54Speaker 3: a lot of this was about their dog, Drake, and
- 7:56Speaker 3: I don't want to talk about.
- 7:57Speaker 1: It, honey, I fast forward it. So I'm just gonna
- 7:59Speaker 1: tell you right now. I'm triggered.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yep.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I don't love my animals. I'm sure you love your animals.
- 8:04Speaker 1: There's probably a lot of us out there that have
- 8:06Speaker 1: had to put down an animal. I can't do it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I can't either, So I just fast forwarded it.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Yep. But the beginning of the episode was interesting because
- 8:14Speaker 3: this is where they're talking about their options for the houses. Yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 3: and they get into a little bit of the coins.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I was annoyed that it was only for like five
- 8:23Speaker 3: minutes and the rest of it is about Drake, and
- 8:25Speaker 3: I'm like, what, why can't we talk about all all
- 8:28Speaker 3: the little options and Mary bitching about what she gets
- 8:31Speaker 3: in her house.
- 8:32Speaker 1: They don't care about you, Beatrice. They don't care that
- 8:34Speaker 1: you're watching this. I know, like you have a problem.
- 8:38Speaker 1: You watch this like it is your job. It is
- 8:40Speaker 1: your job, Like they don't care about you. I know
- 8:42Speaker 1: as a viewer, I know.
- 8:45Speaker 3: But yeah, so they're talking about their options. Christine is
- 8:48Speaker 3: under budget, She's like fifteen percent under her budget, and
- 8:51Speaker 3: Cody makes a comment like, oh, don't let Mary see
- 8:54Speaker 3: that because Mary's gonna eat that up, and Christine's like, no,
- 8:57Speaker 3: she ain't.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So that was interesting because I have been wondering, and again,
- 9:02Speaker 1: I will just say to you if this is the
- 9:04Speaker 1: first time you're listening to us or watching, like, I've
- 9:06Speaker 1: never seen these seasons, so I didn't know how they
- 9:09Speaker 1: divvied up the money. I know that Janelle has been
- 9:12Speaker 1: saying that it's divvied up equally based on the fact
- 9:16Speaker 1: that they're all working at the same job, which is
- 9:20Speaker 1: TLC being on this show. Nobody else is actually working,
- 9:23Speaker 1: but they're taking I guess the salary that they're all making,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and they're dividing it up among four houses. And by
- 9:31Speaker 1: the way, Christine remarks that it makes me feel like
- 9:35Speaker 1: Mary is not going to be able to dip into
- 9:37Speaker 1: the otherwives pots and take their overage and apply it
- 9:41Speaker 1: to her budget.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I hope not, but we don't get to see that.
- 9:45Speaker 3: We don't get to see those conversations. We see that
- 9:48Speaker 3: scene with Christine saying, no, she's not taking my extra
- 9:51Speaker 3: fifteen percent. And then we flash to Mary, who's over
- 9:55Speaker 3: budget on the first page of what's going to be
- 9:58Speaker 3: in her house because she ah stuff, French doors, she
- 10:02Speaker 3: has to have her wet bar, she's gotta have all
- 10:05Speaker 3: of these things, and she's already over budget yep, which
- 10:09Speaker 3: is a fucking while to me.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And she's like, I'm gonna have to get another job.
- 10:12Speaker 3: You don't have a job.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Now. I know you, I know you're on a TLC program,
- 10:16Speaker 1: but like, none of you are actually working at anything
- 10:19Speaker 1: except Janelle. Yeah, that's it.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Yeah, she's the only one working right now. So I
- 10:23Speaker 3: just I didn't like that at all.
- 10:26Speaker 1: What did you think about her pitching a fit about
- 10:28Speaker 1: having French doors and that she's not going to have
- 10:31Speaker 1: sliding doors because she just doesn't like sliding doors. I would, just.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I would. That makes me so mad, Like how entitled
- 10:40Speaker 3: are you? Like, well, I have to have French stores, bitch.
- 10:44Speaker 3: If you want them, you can put them in later.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Indeed, like, what are you bitching if you don't like
- 10:49Speaker 1: the three granite options that you have? Just install something, bitch,
- 10:53Speaker 1: and then get some new granite or some new stone
- 10:55Speaker 1: in five years, get some new cabinets. Do it later.
- 10:58Speaker 3: It makes me think of when you guys moved into
- 11:00Speaker 3: this house and it was so much wood paneling. Oh
- 11:04Speaker 3: my god, it was so bad.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It was Barnaby Jones circa nineteen seventy three. When I
- 11:08Speaker 1: tell you, there were so dive different types of carpet.
- 11:11Speaker 1: There was orange shag, there was industrial berber, there was
- 11:14Speaker 1: wood paneling, there was like haunted chandeliers. I mean it
- 11:18Speaker 1: was so terrible. But you know what good bones uh huh,
- 11:23Speaker 1: good piece of land. Yeah, getting it at a great
- 11:25Speaker 1: price because it's a family property and we will put
- 11:28Speaker 1: in the sweat equity and make it shine. I mean
- 11:31Speaker 1: it's not there yet, No, yeah, there's there's still there's
- 11:34Speaker 1: still shit we gotta do. But it's so much better.
- 11:37Speaker 3: It's so much better.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Why are you so worried about it? Mary? But this
- 11:40Speaker 1: is this is a byproduct of never really having money. Yeah,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and all of a sudden you've got some money to
- 11:46Speaker 1: work with, and it's all happening under the guise of well,
- 11:48Speaker 1: Mary just has expensive tastes. You know, you don't know,
- 11:52Speaker 1: Sliding doors aren't inherently bad. French doors aren't inherently special.
- 11:58Speaker 1: She's basic, She's basic, Oh for sure.
- 12:01Speaker 3: I just thought it was so fucking pretentious in the entitlement.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm just like, bitch, come on, But I mean, there's
- 12:07Speaker 1: one thing to be pretentious because you want to go
- 12:09Speaker 1: to Capri, I guess, okay, and you want to have
- 12:12Speaker 1: fucking mimosas Okay. I think there's another thing to be
- 12:16Speaker 1: pretentious because you want a French door. I mean, it's
- 12:19Speaker 1: just basic af And I don't want the brown granite
- 12:21Speaker 1: I want them, okay, And I want my wet bar.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Why people never had i'mna stop right there.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, we'll be class.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I just I'm just like Mary, shut up, seriously, just
- 12:33Speaker 1: put it in later. I was, so it doesn't matter.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I Meanwhile, last episode, Janelle's like having to take things
- 12:38Speaker 3: away from her house because she doesn't feel like she
- 12:41Speaker 3: needs it because Mary's gonna take up her budget too. Probably,
- 12:45Speaker 3: I think Mary probably took Christine's extra.
- 12:48Speaker 1: There's no way Christine's going to let her take that
- 12:50Speaker 1: fifteen percent. And because Christine feels that way, she made
- 12:54Speaker 1: sure she added some things in so that she could
- 12:56Speaker 1: get her budget to one hundred so nobody could take
- 12:58Speaker 1: her money. But maybe in the past, maybe in the past,
- 13:03Speaker 1: there has been some kind of precedent where Mary has
- 13:06Speaker 1: helped herself to the family funds and didn't quite deserve
- 13:10Speaker 1: it based on what she contributed to those funds, which
- 13:13Speaker 1: is what is giving Janelle this ancient wound, which is
- 13:17Speaker 1: what is triggering her in this moment.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Now, well, that's what makes me wonder if maybe she
- 13:21Speaker 3: is taking from somebody like Janelle who is giving up,
- 13:24Speaker 3: and then Cody's like, oh, we have this extra money
- 13:26Speaker 3: because Janelle gave up all this migirl.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Janelle is not giving up any of that money. No way.
- 13:31Speaker 1: They've taken her gym away, They've taken I don't know,
- 13:35Speaker 1: all of these things from her. She was struggling to
- 13:37Speaker 1: feed her kids, and now she's got twenty thousand left over.
- 13:40Speaker 1: She's not putting that towards Mary's bullshit's door.
- 13:44Speaker 3: He's in eighteen not even having a fucking casita.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I know all of this money.
- 13:49Speaker 3: So I feel like Janelle probably rolled over and just
- 13:51Speaker 3: let it happen.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know. I see her being angry at
- 13:55Speaker 1: the end of the couch. She's sitting at the end
- 13:57Speaker 1: of the couch, and anytime Mary talks about her pain
- 14:01Speaker 1: because she's been judged for asking for equal like, I
- 14:04Speaker 1: just look over to Janelle and her jaw is hard
- 14:07Speaker 1: and she's like hard, I'm ready to fight. Put me
- 14:09Speaker 1: in the octagon with this bitch.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Maybe I don't know, or maybe she's taken that out
- 14:14Speaker 3: on some ice cream later or something.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Or Cody stick.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Ew eh, I'm sorry, nasty.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Probably my bad, probably though.
- 14:22Speaker 3: But then speaking of Janelle and her stress eating, we
- 14:25Speaker 3: didn't we I don't mean to make that transition, but
- 14:30Speaker 3: that's what was in this episode. So I'm just reporting
- 14:33Speaker 3: the facts. Janelle is talking about her fitness journey, how
- 14:37Speaker 3: she's still working out, but she's been sabotaging herself and
- 14:41Speaker 3: her trainer.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yeah, she hasn't been working out. She has. She left
- 14:44Speaker 1: the trainer who was a terrible person who weighed her
- 14:47Speaker 1: on national television and yelled at her and shr the problem,
- 14:50Speaker 1: You've got the biggest problem. And she left that gym,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and she's she decided she was going to work out
- 14:57Speaker 1: at home. Then she didn't, kept eating and now she's
- 15:00Speaker 1: concerned about her health. Yeah. And Janelle, my homegirl, my
- 15:05Speaker 1: Torian sister weighs two hundred and seventy one pal. I know, and.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I would never say my weight on TV. No, Like
- 15:15Speaker 3: she's talking about how she's like, I would never have
- 15:17Speaker 3: weighed myself on national TV. And then you're saying your
- 15:19Speaker 3: weight again.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, why are you doing that to yourself? Oh, she's based.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I think that's pretty cool. I mean she's just like, look,
- 15:24Speaker 1: this is what it is. I have a problem. I
- 15:27Speaker 1: emotionally eat. Yeah, I binge eat and I've got to
- 15:31Speaker 1: take care of it. So now I have a new trainer.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And she's like, it's amazing how these trainers are different. Yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: the trainers are so different, and that's because she didn't
- 15:40Speaker 1: go back to that awful trainer. She's with somebody who listens.
- 15:44Speaker 1: She can kind of share her psychological triggers. He's working
- 15:47Speaker 1: with her, he's curating a great fitness plan, and she's
- 15:50Speaker 1: excited again. And so I like that she's sharing her weight.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I just can't believe it. To me, she does not
- 15:54Speaker 1: look like she's almost three hundred pounds.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Oh. I know, it's crazy, but she does have a
- 15:58Speaker 3: goal to lose one hundred. She's like, that seems super daunting,
- 16:02Speaker 3: but I'm gonna do it. And I'm like, work queen. Yes,
- 16:05Speaker 3: I love that for you, me too, that's great. And
- 16:09Speaker 3: then the last half of the episode is Cody and
- 16:12Speaker 3: Barry going to Utah to take their dog.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Why do we have to take their dog Drake to
- 16:17Speaker 1: Utah to see a veterinarian that they are just meeting
- 16:21Speaker 1: for the first time there because I thought maybe they
- 16:23Speaker 1: knew the veterinarian. I thought maybe this was a family
- 16:26Speaker 1: friend or a family connection. But lo and behold, when
- 16:29Speaker 1: the veterinarian rolls up in his van, they're like, Hi,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I'm Cody. Like they're introducing themselves, so The question is,
- 16:35Speaker 1: why did we have to go all the way back
- 16:37Speaker 1: to Utah? Why did we have to see Cody crying
- 16:41Speaker 1: as he's digging Drake's grave, which is so macab and morose.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Uh huh?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Why did we have to do that just for another
- 16:48Speaker 1: opportunity to talk about polygamy and Utah and how unsafe
- 16:52Speaker 1: it was. Why?
- 16:54Speaker 3: I don't know. I thought this was like super produced,
- 16:57Speaker 3: and I just didn't like the way that they handled it.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I think they did it just to bury the dog
- 17:02Speaker 3: next to their other dog up in Lehigh. But I'm like, why,
- 17:06Speaker 3: you're never going back. You're never going back.
- 17:08Speaker 1: You say you're gonna stay in Vegas, which, by the way,
- 17:13Speaker 1: it just it just seemed performative.
- 17:15Speaker 3: It seems like very.
- 17:16Speaker 1: God Cody's crying now, Okay.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Well, and then Mary being like, I don't want people
- 17:20Speaker 3: to think I'm a terrible person because I'm getting rid
- 17:23Speaker 3: of my dog for ease. But I'm like, that's kind of.
- 17:25Speaker 1: What you're doing. I didn't watch it. Is that what
- 17:27Speaker 1: she said?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's exactly what she said.
- 17:29Speaker 1: What do you mean for ease? Why?
- 17:30Speaker 3: Because well, because it started with him like peeing on
- 17:33Speaker 3: the carpet or something, because old dogs like they lose
- 17:36Speaker 3: their faculties.
- 17:38Speaker 1: My dog is old, My.
- 17:40Speaker 3: God, don't say that, I mean, but she does like
- 17:42Speaker 3: she's on medication because she's in continent because she's old.
- 17:46Speaker 3: But I'm not gonna sit there and take her to
- 17:48Speaker 3: the vent and just offer because she's peeing on my carpet, right, So,
- 17:52Speaker 3: I don't know. I just have kind of a weird,
- 17:53Speaker 3: ichy vibe. If you guys think I'm a piece of shit, fine,
- 17:56Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 17:56Speaker 1: But but it's it kind of runs counter to who
- 18:00Speaker 1: Mary shows us to be in later seasons in Flagstaff
- 18:03Speaker 1: with her dog. Who's the only being who's willing to
- 18:06Speaker 1: spend time with her during COVID and otherwise. But like
- 18:09Speaker 1: she loves this dog. She seems to be an animal lover,
- 18:12Speaker 1: which is what I'm saying.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but but yeah, I.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Didn't because I didn't watch it. I didn't know that
- 18:18Speaker 1: she was putting the dog down due to convenience for herself.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It's one thing to put your dog down because they
- 18:25Speaker 1: are suffering, suffering, you know, like you don't want them
- 18:29Speaker 1: to suffer. And Drake did look old and overweight, and
- 18:33Speaker 1: maybe Drake was suffering. But if it's for your convenience
- 18:37Speaker 1: and that's pretty awful.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Well, it just seems like a weird thing to say,
- 18:41Speaker 3: Like she said that, like I don't want people to
- 18:42Speaker 3: think I'm doing that for ease. And then the veterinarian
- 18:46Speaker 3: that they just met that day is like, yeah, I
- 18:47Speaker 3: know he's suffering for sure. So it's time sad. It's
- 18:52Speaker 3: like it's sad all around. Like the whole moral of
- 18:55Speaker 3: it is just like that they're losing this life that
- 18:58Speaker 3: they had in Lee High. And Cody's like, I didn't
- 19:01Speaker 3: get a chance to mourn when we.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Left our house.
- 19:03Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't fucking care.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's because you guys left in three days time
- 19:07Speaker 1: and you took your whole family and your caravaned it
- 19:09Speaker 1: down to Las Vegas and you pretended the cops were
- 19:12Speaker 1: after you. It was stupid.
- 19:13Speaker 3: You did it too.
- 19:14Speaker 1: You said that to yourself.
- 19:15Speaker 3: So congratulations, you played yourself.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:18Speaker 3: And then the next episode entitled Confronting Failures.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Oh God, Christine, Christine and.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Her real estate.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yep, she took the real estate exam a few months ago,
- 19:31Speaker 1: if you recall, and she failed while Janelle passed. Uh huh, Well,
- 19:35Speaker 1: little did we know, but Christine has been studying her
- 19:38Speaker 1: little ass off, yeah, because she wants to take that
- 19:41Speaker 1: exam again. Unfortunately, however, in order to study, it's gonna
- 19:45Speaker 1: take away time from her family, and her kids are like, Mommy,
- 19:49Speaker 1: when are you gonna make us a meal? Mommy, when
- 19:51Speaker 1: ken we see you again? And she's like, I work,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I gotta study, leave me alone. And I thought this
- 19:58Speaker 1: was a very clarifying kind of situation because this allows
- 20:04Speaker 1: Christine to open up about what's really been happening. And
- 20:09Speaker 1: based on what she says, it's been two years since
- 20:12Speaker 1: they've been in Las Vegas, and slowly over time she
- 20:16Speaker 1: has lost touch really and lost connection with her other
- 20:20Speaker 1: sister wives. And what she wanted when she got into
- 20:23Speaker 1: this relationship with Cody and the other women was she
- 20:26Speaker 1: wanted the sister wives. She wanted to help with her children.
- 20:29Speaker 1: She wanted somebody to be there for her. She wanted
- 20:31Speaker 1: the kinship and the friendship. And here she is trying
- 20:34Speaker 1: to get a job essentially, and there's no other wife
- 20:37Speaker 1: around to help with her kids, even though she raised
- 20:40Speaker 1: all them babies. She raised all them babies, but now
- 20:43Speaker 1: nobody's there to help her. Cody's not coming by, and
- 20:47Speaker 1: the way she describes it, it's like we're failing as
- 20:50Speaker 1: a family, and that makes me sad.
- 20:52Speaker 3: It makes me sad too, And she mentioned something kind
- 20:55Speaker 3: of weird, like when she ultimately spoiler passes the real
- 20:59Speaker 3: estate exam later in the episode, she's like, now I
- 21:02Speaker 3: can feel like I'm actually contributing to the family. And
- 21:05Speaker 3: I'm like, is somebody making you feel like you're not
- 21:07Speaker 3: contributing to the family because you fucking homeschooled all these
- 21:10Speaker 3: kids and cooked all their meals for them, and you
- 21:13Speaker 3: raised not only your kids, but also Janelle's kids while
- 21:16Speaker 3: she's fucking working, and Mary's kids. So I'm like, is
- 21:19Speaker 3: somebody in the family telling Christine she's not contributing. Cody
- 21:23Speaker 3: he's not working.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Yes, look him. I would like you to pay her
- 21:27Speaker 1: per hour of the going rate in twenty twelve twenty
- 21:31Speaker 1: thirteen of a nanny, seriously, and or a teacher, and
- 21:34Speaker 1: you're gonna find out that you would be owing that
- 21:36Speaker 1: woman woman for all of those kids something in the
- 21:38Speaker 1: realm of about three hundred thousand dollars a year. So
- 21:41Speaker 1: she's contributing more uh h on any other person. I
- 21:44Speaker 1: know that Janelle works. She was an accountant or a bookkeeper,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but Christine monetarily just a monetary basis, was contributing more
- 21:51Speaker 1: to that family than anybody else. And it's a pity
- 21:55Speaker 1: that she feels like she hasn't contributed because she's just
- 21:57Speaker 1: to stay at home mom.
- 21:59Speaker 3: I know. Fuck that, Like I got that, and I'm like,
- 22:01Speaker 3: that's so fucked. I mean, congrats that you're gonna be
- 22:04Speaker 3: a real estate agent. That's great, like if you want
- 22:06Speaker 3: to have a career or whatever, but like, don't feel
- 22:08Speaker 3: like you have to because you've been a mom. Like
- 22:11Speaker 3: that's a job, like a very important job, a very
- 22:14Speaker 3: important job.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Women just can't do anything right, No.
- 22:17Speaker 3: They really fucking can't. And so then we have the
- 22:20Speaker 3: family going to the Could assoc. Because they're starting construction
- 22:24Speaker 3: on their homes, and like all the kids are super excited.
- 22:27Speaker 3: They're finally going to be around each other again, finally
- 22:30Speaker 3: going to see their dad again.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Not really psych.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Not gonna happen, yeah, which I thought was kind of
- 22:38Speaker 3: interesting just to see like the beginning of the cul
- 22:40Speaker 3: de sac because their dreams are going to be totally shattered,
- 22:43Speaker 3: They're gonna be shattered, And I thought it was more
- 22:45Speaker 3: about showing the kids, see we are doing this. See right,
- 22:50Speaker 3: you guys didn't believe we would follow through, but we're
- 22:52Speaker 3: following through. I'm just like, mmm, okay, yikes, but you
- 22:57Speaker 3: ultimately don't you ultimately pull up steaks, uproot everything and
- 23:02Speaker 3: move to flag staff.
- 23:03Speaker 1: But we got Robin on the couch saying, well, hopefully
- 23:07Speaker 1: this is permanent. We've got these four homes. We can
- 23:10Speaker 1: finally put down roots right, uh.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Huh right, saying all the right things wrong. Yeah, but
- 23:16Speaker 3: you're going to be hogging Cody the entire time and
- 23:18Speaker 3: not feeling bad about it at all. And then we
- 23:21Speaker 3: have McKelty, Christine and Cody going to visit a fashion designer.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Wow, I couldn't care less. What was her name? Somebody Henry,
- 23:31Speaker 1: Jennifer Henry. I should have googled her to see if
- 23:33Speaker 1: she's still doing fashion design. She made some sort of
- 23:36Speaker 1: the cellophane dress that was really preposterous and funny, and
- 23:40Speaker 1: McKelty was so impressed. And all I want to be
- 23:43Speaker 1: is a world wide or world world class, world class
- 23:48Speaker 1: fashion designer, world renowned fashion designer. And I guess hilarious.
- 23:53Speaker 1: This is a segment that they could produce to pad
- 23:56Speaker 1: out this episode. As we know McKelty goes on to
- 23:59Speaker 1: so a Lula row, which is the worst of the
- 24:02Speaker 1: worst in terms of fashion. Yeah, but I guess it
- 24:06Speaker 1: was cute.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:07Speaker 3: And then there was like a weird conversation about modesty
- 24:10Speaker 3: because Cody sees a lady in a brawl. Oh yeah,
- 24:14Speaker 3: and he hides his eyes or whatever.
- 24:15Speaker 1: And what a good guy.
- 24:16Speaker 3: I mean, he's so chivalrous, so amazing. And then Robin's
- 24:20Speaker 3: on the couch he's like, yeah, it's like inner Mormon culture,
- 24:23Speaker 3: like the men are not supposed to look at other women.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I'm like, huh, okay, except for their wives, except for
- 24:29Speaker 3: getting more wives. And that's right, that's whatever. But let's
- 24:33Speaker 3: talk about how great Cody is because he's modest. And
- 24:36Speaker 3: then we have the live launch of My Sister Wives closet.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, I didn't think we were going to
- 24:43Speaker 1: get that in that episode. So good. That was fantastic.
- 24:47Speaker 1: So all of the adults go over to I don't know,
- 24:49Speaker 1: Robin's house, Yeah, somebody's house. They've got the web designer there.
- 24:54Speaker 1: He's got a flash page up, which is the page
- 24:56Speaker 1: that you see when you're waiting. You're waiting for the
- 24:59Speaker 1: website to launch. You can't wait to see it and order.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I think we have like seventy people on the flash page,
- 25:06Speaker 1: which is not that much for a national television show,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and I'm presuming they're blasting this out over their socials
- 25:14Speaker 1: and so that's not a lot. And then they go
- 25:17Speaker 1: live and they're watching the numbers climb and climb and
- 25:20Speaker 1: climb to like two hundred and seventy people.
- 25:23Speaker 3: But nobody's ordering.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Nobody's ordering for quite some time. I think at the
- 25:27Speaker 1: end of the day they got like twenty eight orders, and.
- 25:33Speaker 3: They got a bunch of comments of people being like
- 25:35Speaker 3: this shit's expensive. And then this is where Cody and
- 25:40Speaker 3: I think Mary defends it on the couch, being like, well,
- 25:43Speaker 3: we wanted a brand that was unique to us and
- 25:46Speaker 3: that was high quality, not cheap.
- 25:49Speaker 1: So that's why we have the prices of real sterling silver.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Robin says, but that's so special and the designs are
- 25:58Speaker 1: so specific to the show, and they're horrible, Like I'm
- 26:02Speaker 1: not gonna wear a necklace that has four women with
- 26:05Speaker 1: diamond like I'm married to one person. I mean, I
- 26:07Speaker 1: like your show and all. Maybe I'll wear one of
- 26:09Speaker 1: your t shirts or some merch, but I'm not gonna
- 26:11Speaker 1: like buy a two hundred dollars necklace signifying four women
- 26:15Speaker 1: and a man in a marriage. It doesn't make any sense.
- 26:17Speaker 1: It's like a bad business idea on its face.
- 26:19Speaker 3: It's so bad. Or the necklace that says s W
- 26:22Speaker 3: like what is that?
- 26:24Speaker 1: I'm not a sister wife? Though? No, Like did they
- 26:27Speaker 1: not get business advice? I don't understand how they came
- 26:31Speaker 1: up with the hearts on hearts and hearts, the boobs
- 26:34Speaker 1: on boobs and boobs, the balls designs of it all.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It's terrible, and it's reflected immediately in the amount of
- 26:42Speaker 1: sales and conversions. And so what you want to look
- 26:45Speaker 1: at is how many people visit your page and then
- 26:47Speaker 1: how many people convert, And it's actually a really low number.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I think it's like, I don't know, one to five percent.
- 26:53Speaker 1: If you can get five percent of the views on
- 26:56Speaker 1: your page converting into a sale, you're doing fucking great. Yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 1: but the conversions for them are really really bad. Because
- 27:04Speaker 1: these people have an audience at this time of certainly
- 27:07Speaker 1: hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions of people,
- 27:11Speaker 1: for sure, and across their socials they've got probably hundreds
- 27:14Speaker 1: of thousands of people following them. So the fact that
- 27:17Speaker 1: on their launch date they have less than three hundred
- 27:19Speaker 1: people showing up and most of them just want to
- 27:23Speaker 1: make fun of it. Oh yeah, most of them are
- 27:24Speaker 1: just like, what are these fuckers doing? Like, what is
- 27:26Speaker 1: this their bullshit jewelry? Yeah, it was cringe.
- 27:30Speaker 3: It was so cringe, And maybe they thought it was
- 27:32Speaker 3: going to be successful purely because they had such a
- 27:35Speaker 3: big fan base at the time for TV. But I'm like,
- 27:38Speaker 3: it has to be good, Like why didn't you start
- 27:41Speaker 3: out with T shirts and mugs and shit? Yeah, I
- 27:43Speaker 3: mean I totally would have bought a mug. Yeah, shirt,
- 27:46Speaker 3: totally would have bought a sweatshirt. I mean that would
- 27:48Speaker 3: have been fantastic, and then you would have made a
- 27:50Speaker 3: lot of money. Yeah, and then you could have expanded
- 27:52Speaker 3: to other shit if you wanted to have jewelry or whatever.
- 27:55Speaker 3: But to start off with sterling silver jewelry that's clunky
- 27:59Speaker 3: and as fuck is wild. But just wait. The only
- 28:04Speaker 3: episode that I remember, and I don't even know if
- 28:06Speaker 3: it's in the season, I can't remember if it's in
- 28:08Speaker 3: the season or another season, is when they do the
- 28:10Speaker 3: shark Tank episode.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Oh my god, in front of the investors.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And they're like evaluating my sister wives closet like at
- 28:16Speaker 3: ten million dollars.
- 28:17Speaker 1: That has to be based on actual sales. Yeah, it
- 28:20Speaker 1: can't be like speculation or conjecture based on the people
- 28:22Speaker 1: that watch your show. Yeah, and I'm very curious to
- 28:25Speaker 1: see by then, when they're sitting in front of investors
- 28:27Speaker 1: how many web visits they're getting per month. I'm very
- 28:31Speaker 1: very curious to see that. But the thing that I
- 28:33Speaker 1: wanted to say was like, once you identify, oh, this
- 28:35Speaker 1: shit isn't converting the way that it needs to, like,
- 28:38Speaker 1: you immediately pull back, you reevaluate, you change your strategy exactly.
- 28:42Speaker 1: That might mean you change your actual product, maybe the
- 28:45Speaker 1: way that you're marketing it and how you're marketing it,
- 28:47Speaker 1: but like, you change your strategy. But I'm just putting
- 28:49Speaker 1: on my racoon thinking cap I am a prognosticator, and
- 28:53Speaker 1: I already know they're not going to change anything because
- 28:55Speaker 1: I think this jewelry is tied to Robin's ego. And
- 28:59Speaker 1: as much as all the wife think, oh yeah, we
- 29:00Speaker 1: really believe in this business venture because we have to
- 29:04Speaker 1: pay our mortgages, yeah, this has really gotta work, as
- 29:07Speaker 1: much as they're saying that it's really Robin's baby, and
- 29:10Speaker 1: so all of her designs they're probably inspired by God.
- 29:15Speaker 3: H and her love for the family.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Manifested from God. Yeah, and so she's probably got a
- 29:20Speaker 1: fundamental unwillingness to change anything like that totally, which means
- 29:24Speaker 1: they're gonna fail. And I know they go on to fail.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I think there's still a website, but like there's no sales,
- 29:29Speaker 1: it's dead.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, But I love that Janelle at every point
- 29:33Speaker 3: always brings it back to like, yeah, this is like
- 29:35Speaker 3: a fraction of the cost of what my gym would
- 29:38Speaker 3: have been. So that's why we're gonna go with this.
- 29:40Speaker 3: But like, you know, the undertone of that is that
- 29:42Speaker 3: she's bitter that they're not starting the gym. She still
- 29:45Speaker 3: says it's a dream of hers, which I'm surprised to
- 29:48Speaker 3: this day that she still hasn't opened up a gym.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Maybe well, she opened up a website so that she
- 29:53Speaker 1: could mentor people in fitness. Yeah, I mean we saw
- 29:56Speaker 1: the copy on that website. I don't know that she's
- 29:58Speaker 1: actually doing that. And then she went and bought like
- 30:00Speaker 1: a farm in North Carolina. Farm. She wants to have
- 30:04Speaker 1: a flower farm like her head's kind of all over
- 30:07Speaker 1: the place. But back to that premiere bitch. When she's
- 30:10Speaker 1: sitting down with Christine in the season nineteen trailer and
- 30:15Speaker 1: she's talking about lawyering up, she's talking straight to my soul.
- 30:19Speaker 1: She's talking straight to my butt.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Honey.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I'm like, if you would only I don't think she has, though,
- 30:24Speaker 1: because if she has, we would know about it. Yeah,
- 30:27Speaker 1: but oh my god, please lawyer up, Please sue the cock,
- 30:30Speaker 1: the wheels, the dickensiean village out of that hoarderhouse.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Oh my god, if all three of them lawyered up,
- 30:37Speaker 3: Oh my god, Cody and Robbi would be done far.
- 30:39Speaker 3: It would be amazing. Drag them, drag them through the.
- 30:44Speaker 1: But you have to see, Janelle just doesn't like stick
- 30:46Speaker 1: to shit. No, she doesn't stick to her fitness plan,
- 30:48Speaker 1: she doesn't stick to her dreams like of opening a gym.
- 30:52Speaker 1: She just tries to make shit work all the time.
- 30:55Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, like, well, what
- 30:56Speaker 1: have you actually accomplished even with Coyote Pass. And I'm
- 30:59Speaker 1: not black aim her because she's part of a unit. Yeah, people, right,
- 31:03Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, with Coyote Pass,
- 31:06Speaker 1: you don't even have a structure on that. I don't
- 31:09Speaker 1: even know if you can actually build on it for real.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't even know if you can actually build on
- 31:12Speaker 1: it at this time. Like what do you have, Janelle?
- 31:15Speaker 1: You got to make smarter decisions.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yep, Like especially at your age. But maybe she is
- 31:20Speaker 3: with her flower farm, maybe he maybe she's gonna make money.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I wish that for her.
- 31:25Speaker 3: That's great. I want she's making money from Plexus and
- 31:28Speaker 3: the gut Hell's Drinks and whatever.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Did you hear that Savannah is going to go to
- 31:33Speaker 1: school in North Carolina or in the in the general area.
- 31:38Speaker 1: So we've got Janelle there, We've got Machelte moving there,
- 31:40Speaker 1: now we've got Savannah moving there. So a lot of
- 31:44Speaker 1: the family is going to be relocated and nobody, nobody
- 31:48Speaker 1: wants to be around Cody and Robin.
- 31:50Speaker 3: I love that for them, that's what they get. Yep.
- 31:53Speaker 3: That's what she deserves the.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Consequences of your actions, Zacs.
- 31:58Speaker 3: And the last part of this episode is everybody getting
- 32:01Speaker 3: together at a park because they're waiting or they're gonna
- 32:04Speaker 3: have some dinner or something. For Christine, she's gonna go
- 32:07Speaker 3: take her real estate exam. She failed the practice test
- 32:10Speaker 3: that she took, so she's really worried she's gonna fail
- 32:12Speaker 3: this test. So everybody's waiting around to see if she's
- 32:15Speaker 3: gonna pass. And she shows up and she passes. But
- 32:18Speaker 3: this opens the conversation about failing as a family, right,
- 32:22Speaker 3: And when Christine says this, Mary immediately tries to defend
- 32:26Speaker 3: it and be like, well, I wouldn't go as far
- 32:28Speaker 3: as to say that we're failing. We're a work in progress,
- 32:33Speaker 3: like just invalidating what Christine is saying. And Christine's telling
- 32:37Speaker 3: the truth.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Yeah, if anyone's gonna tell the truth, it's Christine. And
- 32:40Speaker 1: again you can kind of see Cody's face fall when
- 32:44Speaker 1: she says that. And I don't think it's because he
- 32:47Speaker 1: disagrees necessarily with the sentiment. It's because she's saying it
- 32:50Speaker 1: on camera.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yep.
- 32:52Speaker 1: She's outing the family and the facade that the family
- 32:54Speaker 1: projects to us. And he doesn't like that because he's
- 32:57Speaker 1: always performing. And so Mary comes in. She starts skaping,
- 33:00Speaker 1: she starts sweeping, she starts doing what she always does.
- 33:03Speaker 1: But no, Christine's right, Oh, yeah, how often are you
- 33:06Speaker 1: going over there to see Christine? Cody? How often are
- 33:09Speaker 1: you seeing your kids with her or with Janelle, like,
- 33:12Speaker 1: what's your schedule, Like, what's the calendar? Like when does
- 33:15Speaker 1: Mary even get to see you?
- 33:16Speaker 3: Yes, it's just crazy to see how quickly she called it,
- 33:20Speaker 3: like in.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Season five, in season one, bitch, I mean, yeah, she
- 33:23Speaker 1: did in season episode wide. I mean it's crazy.
- 33:27Speaker 3: That she's just been the one saying it this whole
- 33:29Speaker 3: entire time, but yet she's stuck around and still tried.
- 33:32Speaker 3: It's wild. It is, it's wild, and I feel sad
- 33:36Speaker 3: for them, but you know, I don't. I don't. And then
- 33:41Speaker 3: we have a bring me for next episode and they
- 33:44Speaker 3: take some RV trip two Nauvoo, Illinois.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, some sort of polygamist Mormons sight like where polygamy
- 33:53Speaker 1: began or something. But they've got to rent two RV's
- 33:56Speaker 1: to do it, so you know it's going to be
- 33:57Speaker 1: a Brown calamity road trip.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yep.
- 34:00Speaker 1: And we see Brown Cody Brown, getting all upset and
- 34:03Speaker 1: staying up until three in the morning, driving for five
- 34:06Speaker 1: days and screaming at Mary because she should drive you.
- 34:10Speaker 1: He's just he's just too much, is so much.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I don't know how any of these women dealt with
- 34:16Speaker 3: him for as long as they did. But I'm excited
- 34:18Speaker 3: to see that disaster because it's gonna be chaotic. Yes,
- 34:21Speaker 3: and then we're going to finish out the season and
- 34:22Speaker 3: then season nineteen permires. Wow, I can't wait.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I can't either. It's been a good year so far,
- 34:29Speaker 1: Yeah it has. Yeah, I look forward to it me too. Well,
- 34:32Speaker 1: is there anything else that we want to say to
