  Bama, how are you? You know, it's kind of a day of

  shock down here, but not unexpected that they lost.

  I think how they lost, I'm sure we'll get into it a little bit

  later. Is, is the big issue And you

  know, everybody has an opinion and we'll, we'll, we'll see what

  pans out. Well, let's go in order of how

  they played out, if that's OK. Start on Friday night with I
• 1:10
  thought it was an unbelievable football game.

  Just the way Miami Trent was able to knock off Ohio State in
• 1:18
  the fashion that they did. Beck was OK, Fletcher ran the
• 1:24
  ball effectively. It wasn't, I mean didn't blow
• 1:27
  you away, but it's the defence of Miami that kept them in this
• 1:31
  thing. Is this defence good enough to
• 1:33
  go all the way? The defence is, Is the offense
• 1:36
  good enough to win two more games, though, to get there?
• 1:38
  Yeah, absolutely. The defense is good enough to do
• 1:40
  it. But I still think that remains
• 1:42
  the concern. And though we're not going to
• 1:44
  see Carson Beck against his former team, which would have
• 1:46
  been outstanding to see against Georgia, not many people down in
• 1:50
  Athens have a lot of great things to say about Carson Beck.
• 1:53
  That aside, we're not going to get that game.
• 1:55
  Miami has the defense to do it. Do I believe two more times
• 1:58
  though that Carson Beck can? That continues to be my
• 2:02
  struggle. His, his inconsistency, the
• 2:04
  missing what they have. But they got the weapons, they
• 2:06
  got the dudes. And I think this was more almost
• 2:09
  an indictment on Ryan Day and Ohio State, another big spot,
• 2:13
  another opportunity. They moved the ball during the
• 2:15
  first half of the game and that's why I thought they had a
• 2:17
  shot. But you kind of score points and
• 2:19
  Ryan Day, once again, maybe he wishes a Brian Hart line.
• 2:22
  He wouldn't have pulled away those playing calling duties
• 2:25
  because that thing looked like Ryan Day in a big spot that we
• 2:29
  saw really outside of last year in the playoff run.

  That's kind of what Ohio State's become under him in my mind.
• 2:34
  So do you think his seat is hot going into next year?
• 2:36
  Big Michigan this year. He beat Michigan, but if they
• 2:40
  miss the playoff, I it's got to be the expectations are
• 2:43
  completely different at Ohio State and they're outsized.

  And as we'll talk about a little bit later on with Alabama, it's

  probably not fair, but it is the reality.

  And I think there's still plenty of people that are just waiting
• 2:54
  for the disappointment to happen again with Ohio State.

  And yeah, the sea will get high. You know what?

  What jumped off to my television screen as I'm watching it is

  just so damn good. Jeremiah Smith is my good God.

  He is. I don't know if he's the best
• 3:09
  football player in the country, but you can see why so many
• 3:13
  teams are salivating. For him to come out after next
• 3:16
  year, He's got to play one more before he's eligible to be

  drafted. But my good God, what a weapon.

  Bama, let's go back to this one. Your thoughts on the on the
• 3:24
  Cotton Bowl from this past year as Ohio State falls to Miami.

  Yeah, I I echo a lot of what Trent was saying there.

  I think the play calling for Ryan Day and they mentioned it
• 3:36
  in the broadcast. I mean, it was just very uneven.

  It got better in the second-half, but it looked like
• 3:41
  a guy that hadn't called plays in two years.

  I was again surprised that Miami.

  I knew they're. Listen, we're not you can you me
• 3:51
  are not allowed to watch the ACC and we know why.

  Yeah, but that defensive line from Miami, I'm telling you, the

  Tennessee Titans are going to have the 3rd or 4th pick.

  I want Ruben Bain. Hell yeah.

  It is like baby Miles Garrett. Yeah.

  And Micah Parsons all mixed into one.

  They. Absolutely ran roughshod over

  that game. They they listen, this was a

  butt kicking. This was just a physical butt

  kicking by Miami. That defensive line over Ohio

  State. I didn't think that could happen

  to them. We saw Indiana win physically in
• 4:25
  the Big 10 Championship game, but this was overwhelming.

  I think, you know, you question can Miami do it again twice?
• 4:33
  I think they can. And the reason I say that is for
• 4:36
  what you just said, Carson Beck didn't have to play a great
• 4:39
  game. He didn't he he can win you a
• 4:43
  game, but he can also lose your game.

  We talked about that the last time.
• 4:46
  You know, he can throw you out of the game just as easy as he
• 4:48
  can as he can hit some of these weapons that he has.
• 4:50
  And look, 2124 points might be enough for them to get for them
• 4:55
  to win out, especially against an Ole Miss team who will get to
• 4:59
  that game a little bit later. What a game that was.

  But you know, they've got a weapon of Malachi, Tony, they
• 5:05
  can earn it with Fletcher. They've got a good offensive
• 5:08
  line. They're physical on both sides
• 5:09
  of the ball. But my God, that defensive front
• 5:12
  is just unbelievable. Those guys are that there are a
• 5:15
  lot of NFL team. There are a few NFL teams that
• 5:17
  would take what Miami has and swap with them.
• 5:21
  But yeah, I think they are an absolute legit threat.

  I think any, I think it's wide open now.
• 5:26
  You've got Alabama's out, Ohio State's gone.
• 5:30
  You know, Indiana's is, I think clearly the top dog.

  I think Miami absolutely can win.
• 5:36
  I think this is a good match up for them against Ole Miss.

  And then, you know, you get you get one game for all the marbles
• 5:43
  and anything can happen. And it really is surviving
• 5:45
  advance. It's different than what you
• 5:47
  play during the regular season because you're worried about
• 5:49
  polls and rankings and who's in and who's out and, you know,
• 5:51
  quality wins and FPI and all this other crap.

  This one you just got to win. You get to keep playing.

  I was very impressed with Miami overall.
• 5:59
  And what Mario Cristobal has done is taken a while, right?

  And good for the Miami administration.

  You see all these, all these, you know, LSU number one is an

  example, get impatient with a guy who can't get anything done.

  But Crystal Ball was doing it the right way.

  They had faith in him. They let him do it and man, as

  he got rewarded and that's a sleeping giant down there.

  Don't let them get that recruiting base going again
• 6:22
  because there are so many players in Miami.

  They don't have to. They don't have to have a whole

  lot of NIL and recruit have a big reach in recruiting, but

  excellent outstanding win for them.

  Year's Day, Trent Condon, and we get started with Oregon and

  Texas Tech. And I thought Texas Tech would

  give him a game and they did not give him a game.

  Oregon was much the best in that football game.

  I don't know if it's on Baron Morton.

  I don't know who is that where it starts and stops.

  I think it's absolutely has to. They went out, they spent, and I

  thought they spent very smart. You build the lines and that

  defensive line was disruptive and that defense as a whole for
• 8:26
  Texas Tech was outstanding. And they went out and they
• 8:29
  brought in another running back we didn't even get to see this
• 8:31
  year. The running back game was pretty
• 8:32
  good overall and those running backs were fine, but they did
• 8:35
  not go to what you have told me now for decades as the most
• 8:39
  important position in sport. Aaron Morton is a nice
• 8:42
  quarterback. He's a fine quarterback.
• 8:44
  He's not a national champion win quarterback.
• 8:47
  And we saw it once again. I know he was banged up
• 8:48
  throughout the course of the year, but now Cody Campbell, get
• 8:52
  out the bag once again and go find a quarterback.
• 8:55
  That's what you have. And if they would have had a
• 8:57
  different one, I got to believe that Baron Morton doesn't finish
• 8:59
  the game because he was hurting his team.

  And now David Bailey, my God, what a player he is.

  I mean, everybody focuses, and I'm guilty of it too, on
• 9:07
  Rodriguez. But David Bailey, my good God.

  What did you see in Oregon, Bama?

  Impressive. Listen, it's hard to blind and

  and I got, I guess the question I post to you guys, is this kind

  of an indictment on the Big 12? Yeah.

  We're trending that direction. They're now, I think one in
• 9:27
  eight in playoff game. TCU the only one, yeah.

  I mean, you have a you have a team that that wins the Big 12
• 9:34
  undefeated. Well, no, I guess they lost one
• 9:36
  game. Yeah, Arizona State.

  Yeah. Beats BYU twice, gets a number
• 9:39
  four seed, gets a bye and it gets shut out in the in the
• 9:43
  playoff game. And I know Oregon's good, but I
• 9:46
  agree with you on the defense. And this is one of the pros, if

  you will, of NIL and transfer and all that is a team like
• 9:54
  Texas Tech or a team like Indiana can't compete with the
• 9:58
  blue bloods and beat the blue bloods at their own game, right?

  Because, hey, you know, I understand we need rules and all

  that around it, right? But this was just this case.

  It's hard to blame Texas Tech's defense because there was a
• 10:11
  fumble that, you know, happened in the red zone and then I think
• 10:14
  they got one really late was the last 10 seconds of the game,
• 10:17
  right? So you take that away, their
• 10:18
  defenses, you're right. And they got some guys on
• 10:20
  defense, they got some studs, they got some dudes and they got
• 10:24
  the guys that are going to be playing on Sunday.

  But that was that was a hard watch offensively.

  And again, I don't know if it was the quarterback or the
• 10:31
  scheme or or Oregon's defense or playing in Miami or an
• 10:36
  indictment on the B12. You know, you really play a
• 10:39
  whole lot of great teams this year.

  The best team you played might have been BYU.
• 10:43
  And then you run up against a team like this and and they just
• 10:46
  bump you. But it was it was a bad look for
• 10:49
  Texas Tech Good season, can't take it away.

  Big 12 champion and you get a you get to the playoff.

  But I mean, it's just they just went out with a whimper, man.

  This is this is like a, you know, a two seed in the in the

  NCAA basketball tournament that loses that early game on

  Thursday. Were they ever really there?

  You know, so it was a bad look for them and the conference.

  And I feel bad for some of the players on there.

  where they spend a little bit for next year.

  to quit, the other teams got to make them quit.

  3/4 during that game. I think they showed a little bit

  of fight and they kept playing hard.

  But finally they just realized it ain't happening and that was

  it. And so you credit to Indiana for

  making that happen. But it's going to be a long,

  invisible offseason for Caitlin de Boer and Ryan Grubb and Kane

  Womack, who's the defensive coordinator.

  Because they got to fix something.

  They got to get more athletic upfront.

  They've got big guy, they don't have athletic guys.

  And again, the fact they can't, it doesn't matter who your

  watched these two teams, it shouldn't have been a 7 point

  spread. It should have been 2 touchdowns

  and there should have been 5 touchdowns because that's how

  significant the gap was between these two teams.
