Transcript
- 0:02There's nothing in the world I hate more
- 0:05than sore losers and cheaters.
- 0:07So I'm calling out one of you.
- 0:09Let's talk now.
- 0:22I love the chase and the hunt,
- 0:23and I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:25I always take what I want,
- 0:26and I always give it one hundred.
- 0:28Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
- 0:30Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:31I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:32Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:34Now wake up!
- 0:36It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:38Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:40friend to me.
- 0:42What is going on, everybody?
- 0:43It is lunchtime.
- 0:46Or as Trantala says, lunchtime!
- 0:49Here we go.
- 0:55Ken Walter, Scott,
- 0:56your bag of oranges in the back of
- 0:58the pickup truck.
- 0:58Comment on Seve's podcast was priceless.
- 1:01Yeah, I thought I'd get a little play,
- 1:03but nothing.
- 1:06Yeah, when it comes to boxers or briefs,
- 1:09like I am nowhere near a boxer.
- 1:12Man,
- 1:14I hate when my oranges are bouncing around
- 1:15the back of a pickup truck.
- 1:20See that?
- 1:21Cool.
- 1:26Scott, I like how your background changes.
- 1:28My background.
- 1:29Oh, no.
- 1:32Behind me is the same as it always
- 1:34is.
- 1:35I did change the thumbnail a little bit
- 1:36today to kind of honor my love for
- 1:39comic books and comic book stuff.
- 1:42Plus,
- 1:42I've been playing around with some AI
- 1:44things.
- 1:46converting converting some of ishmael's
- 1:48pictures from rogue into comic book cells
- 1:50which is they just look really good and
- 1:52i just wanted to highlight them so yeah
- 1:55doing a little bit of that um what
- 1:59else is going on
- 2:03So I've told you guys,
- 2:06I watch a lot of CrossFit content,
- 2:07and sometimes I just have to take a
- 2:10breath, get away,
- 2:11watch something completely different.
- 2:13And so I watch other content creators,
- 2:15too, just to see their interview style,
- 2:18try to learn what I can from them,
- 2:20how do they phrase questions,
- 2:22things like that.
- 2:25And one of the people I watch is
- 2:26a guy named The Professor of Rock because
- 2:28I love music.
- 2:31And he's been actually going through it a
- 2:32little bit these last few weeks.
- 2:34He has a baseball-sized kidney stone that
- 2:38he's having removed tomorrow.
- 2:40But before he goes in for that,
- 2:42he actually got surprised by David
- 2:45Letterman,
- 2:45who turned out being a fan of his
- 2:48and wanted to interview him.
- 2:50And here,
- 2:51this guy is a huge fan of David
- 2:52Letterman.
- 2:54And it was just this really cool back
- 2:55and forth that happened.
- 2:57And it was a cool walk down memory
- 2:59lane because when I was in college,
- 3:02we watched,
- 3:03this is way before Letterman was on CBS,
- 3:06when Letterman did The Late Show after The
- 3:11Tonight Show.
- 3:14on NBC,
- 3:16we would sit in our dorm rooms with
- 3:18the antenna out the window and half a
- 3:21roll of tinfoil to get a good reception
- 3:24would watch Letterman late at night.
- 3:27Um, and it was really fun to just,
- 3:30uh,
- 3:31uh watch them interact and and kind of
- 3:35go back and forth because i really love
- 3:37the professor of rock he does a lot
- 3:38of cool like interviews historic um stuff
- 3:42through the history of rock he does he
- 3:45goes through top tens from a certain time
- 3:48back in in the day and then when
- 3:50he's done with the top ten he'll actually
- 3:52look at
- 3:53Today,
- 3:54what do their Spotify streams look like?
- 3:59And are they in the same order?
- 4:02What's most popular now from that era as
- 4:05opposed to what they were during that
- 4:07time?
- 4:09It's just a lot of fun.
- 4:11And it's one of those kind of like
- 4:12brain dead channels that you don't have to
- 4:14be totally engrossed in.
- 4:16It just kind of wafts over you.
- 4:18And it's fun to just,
- 4:20it's if you want to go back and
- 4:22remember things from high school and
- 4:24college, it's really a fun, fun, fun time.
- 4:29understand professor of rock is a great
- 4:31channel and Sean and Oregon Letterman is
- 4:33in a category all of his own.
- 4:35He really spoke back in the day.
- 4:37He really spoke to the college age kids.
- 4:40Um, you know, this is late eighties.
- 4:42I'm in college.
- 4:44Uh,
- 4:44my roommate and I would lay in bed
- 4:45and just excited to hear the top ten
- 4:48list every night.
- 4:50Um, and really, really enjoyed it.
- 4:53And, uh,
- 4:56was a big a big carson fan too
- 4:58so johnny carson david letterman loved
- 5:00both of them and it really really uh
- 5:05is a good time so uh esther esther
- 5:15serve uh as a classic rock fan professor
- 5:17of rock is a must see he is
- 5:20two people i watch in the music world
- 5:22on youtube and it's professor of rock and
- 5:24rick beato um i liked when rick beato
- 5:28did more why is this song great or
- 5:32their his top ten or top twenty um
- 5:35his interviews are really good too um
- 5:38professor of rock is more consistent on
- 5:41his channel but beato has like five
- 5:43million subscribers um professor of rock
- 5:46has like a million and a half
- 5:49And they're both great.
- 5:50And again,
- 5:51I really just try to reach out to
- 5:54look at different things and try to learn
- 5:57what I can from their interview style,
- 5:59things like that.
- 6:04The Neil Schoen interview on Rick Beato is
- 6:07a banger as a huge Journey fan.
- 6:10I have probably...
- 6:14six journey albums on vinyl um from the
- 6:18mid-seventies uh up through the one after
- 6:26escape um Frontiers I think yeah so I
- 6:33have those all on vinyl my wife and
- 6:36I are both big Journey fans we listen
- 6:38to those all the time um
- 6:42My favorite Journey album is Infinity.
- 6:50It has my favorite Journey song on it.
- 6:53That's one I like to listen to a
- 6:54lot.
- 6:57It's weird.
- 6:57Like today, my daughter...
- 7:00started collecting vinyl but before that
- 7:03like she didn't know what an album was
- 7:05like everything was on spotify as just
- 7:07songs and like we were losing this you
- 7:11know back in the in the in classic
- 7:13rock and i'm no i'm way off the
- 7:14rails here
- 7:16albums used to tell a story, right?
- 7:18It was one song into the next song
- 7:19into the next song that,
- 7:21that had a thread generally about what was
- 7:24going on in that,
- 7:25that artist's life at the time.
- 7:27And we've lost that with Spotify and the
- 7:29greatest hits era.
- 7:31And just being able to go pick a
- 7:33song and play it at the,
- 7:34at a beck and call,
- 7:36as opposed to like going to the store,
- 7:38buying an album and then playing it for
- 7:40cover to cover to see what it says.
- 7:43Um,
- 7:45So, uh,
- 7:48we who lived through the eighties were
- 7:50lucky for sure.
- 7:50We were, um,
- 7:53but then the downside of that is you
- 7:55went, you bought your new album came out,
- 7:56you went and bought it and it had
- 7:58one hit song on it and the rest
- 8:00of it was just crap.
- 8:02And, uh,
- 8:03so it was like a little roulette game
- 8:05you played, um, when you did that.
- 8:08So, but I have, I don't know,
- 8:11I have
- 8:12I have a very procured collection of
- 8:15vinyl.
- 8:17Um,
- 8:18it probably is about a hundred and fifty
- 8:20albums right now.
- 8:21Uh,
- 8:22but it's just the stuff I wanted and
- 8:23the stuff that I want to listen to.
- 8:26Um,
- 8:28And usually a lot of times after I'm
- 8:31done with the show,
- 8:31I just go upstairs and I put on
- 8:34a record and I work to that music.
- 8:38And that's how I kind of relax in
- 8:39the afternoon after the show.
- 8:41Unless it's like a day like today where
- 8:44at one o'clock today,
- 8:45we have Don Fall on the CrossFit podcast.
- 8:49And then we have Luka Jukic on with...
- 8:53coffee pods and wads at one at one.
- 8:56So as soon as this is done,
- 8:58that'll probably have to be a must list.
- 9:00And then we'll see from what to see
- 9:05from from there on out.
- 9:09So big day.
- 9:12So I want to I want to talk
- 9:13about my sore loser comment off the top.
- 9:17This season,
- 9:17we put together a fantasy football league
- 9:20in the Clydesdale media world.
- 9:22Twelve people joined.
- 9:25Carolyn, Jamie, and I all have teams,
- 9:27and we took on whatever listeners got in
- 9:29first.
- 9:32I'm a rule follower, and I hate cheaters,
- 9:36and I hate sore losers.
- 9:39And one of the members of our league,
- 9:41because he was out of it,
- 9:43decided to dump his entire roster and
- 9:48And that totally messes up the league for
- 9:52the other eleven players for the rest of
- 9:54the year.
- 9:57And what possesses someone to be so petty
- 10:01and so upset that they ruin the shit
- 10:06for everyone else?
- 10:09Why dump every player,
- 10:11put them back into the pool to be
- 10:12picked up,
- 10:14And now it's just a mad chaos thing
- 10:16and totally slants the league for the rest
- 10:19of the season.
- 10:21It ruins the integrity of the season.
- 10:23And I know it's only fantasy football,
- 10:25but it's something that people do to enjoy
- 10:27and relax and get away from the hectic
- 10:31life that they have.
- 10:32What possesses someone to do that?
- 10:36To be so petty that their inconvenience
- 10:40has to be felt by everybody else around
- 10:42them.
- 10:48It's like playing Monopoly or Risk for
- 10:51five hours, devoting all this time,
- 10:53and then one person saying, I'm bored,
- 10:56I'm going to walk away,
- 10:57and they own half the world,
- 10:59and now the game is not relevant anymore.
- 11:06I just don't get it.
- 11:07I don't get it.
- 11:11And that person was Jeff Baco.
- 11:13I'm not pulling back words.
- 11:15What he did was pissed me off.
- 11:18It upset me.
- 11:20It upset other people in the league.
- 11:22And it sucks.
- 11:26It sucks that he did that.
- 11:28It sucks that he was so selfish that
- 11:31it was more about him and where he
- 11:33was than keeping the league where it was.
- 11:40And it was just for fun.
- 11:41We were having fun with listeners and
- 11:45doing things.
- 11:48It was a jackass move.
- 11:49He's a jackass,
- 11:51and I'm really pissed about it.
- 11:57So there it is.
- 12:04Um, so there it is.
- 12:07Corey Leonard says to the surprise of
- 12:09absolutely no one.
- 12:13Yeah, I don't, I didn't know him.
- 12:14I didn't know him enough, uh, before this,
- 12:18um,
- 12:20But what sucks most is I had other
- 12:23people interested in wanting to play in
- 12:24this league that could have come in and
- 12:27played it the way it was supposed to
- 12:28be played.
- 12:29And he has to come in and be
- 12:31a jackass,
- 12:32take someone else's spot that would have
- 12:34enjoyed it and would have played it the
- 12:35way it was supposed to.
- 12:37And he ruins it for the other eleven
- 12:39people who signed it up.
- 12:40And now it makes it
- 12:43kind of a null and void season for
- 12:44everybody else because every one of his
- 12:47players is out in the waiver pool to
- 12:49be able to be picked up.
- 12:51And if you've already played him and maybe
- 12:52lost to him,
- 12:53now other people are going to get to
- 12:56play an empty roster for the rest of
- 12:58the season and get an automatic win.
- 13:00So it could affect who makes the playoffs
- 13:02or not.
- 13:03And I know most people don't care about
- 13:05my fantasy league.
- 13:06But I just want to point out that
- 13:08Jeff Baco's an ass.
- 13:09And don't let him in anything you're doing
- 13:12because he will ruin it on the spot.
- 13:17And so he will never be welcome back
- 13:19into anything we do on this channel.
- 13:23That is for sure.
- 13:27So...
- 13:30Here we go.
- 13:32I also put out a reel clipping something
- 13:34I talked about with,
- 13:35about Laura a couple of days ago and
- 13:37the comments have been crazy, man.
- 13:41So I'm going to share that real quick.
- 13:47Here we go.
- 13:48So,
- 13:49and this is talking about how Tia is
- 13:52Laura's white whale.
- 13:53I think that there's a chance she comes
- 13:54back to the games because the one thing
- 13:57on her resume that she doesn't have is
- 13:59a win over Tia.
- 14:02Here we go.
- 14:04There's so many topics in this I want
- 14:06to talk about.
- 14:07So here's a comment.
- 14:09Rogue matters more than CrossFit games
- 14:11since twenty twenty four.
- 14:12She is a woman with principles and I
- 14:14don't think she will go back to the
- 14:15games until and until no changes happen.
- 14:19She is happy with Rogue WFP and her
- 14:21gym and I think would not want to
- 14:24represent a company if she would win like
- 14:26CrossFit HQ right now.
- 14:27And that is why she won't go.
- 14:29She doesn't care about Tia as much as
- 14:31people think.
- 14:32I think that is completely false.
- 14:35Now she may be pissed at HQ.
- 14:36I did say that in the full long
- 14:38form of this.
- 14:39And she,
- 14:40I think she was grieving from twenty
- 14:41twenty four.
- 14:42Some people grieve in different ways.
- 14:46And and that is her entitlement to to
- 14:49to grieve.
- 14:50And I get that.
- 14:51But to say she doesn't care about Tia.
- 14:54Tia is the piece that makes her improves
- 14:57her greatness.
- 15:00Proves her greatness.
- 15:02And if you can beat the king of
- 15:05the hill and become the king of the
- 15:07hill, that means something.
- 15:10That means something way different than
- 15:11winning a rogue event.
- 15:14And I think it has been shown over
- 15:16the last two years.
- 15:18Yes,
- 15:19there was a death at the CrossFit Games
- 15:20in twenty twenty four.
- 15:22But there has been deaths in other sports
- 15:24during competition as well.
- 15:26It doesn't mean they fade away.
- 15:28It doesn't mean they go away.
- 15:30People grieve.
- 15:31They get past it and it moves on.
- 15:35And people are coming back to the CrossFit
- 15:38Games and watching the CrossFit Games.
- 15:40And it still gets the most streams.
- 15:42It still gets the most attention.
- 15:45And Bill and Katie themselves would tell
- 15:48you that the CrossFit Games matter more
- 15:51than what they do.
- 15:52What they do is a showcase.
- 15:54What the games do is find the fittest
- 15:55on earth.
- 15:56That is very different.
- 15:58To say that it doesn't matter to Laura
- 16:02is a cop-out.
- 16:06And someone else made a comment that just
- 16:09really fried me up.
- 16:13This guy, Didi Dottie.
- 16:16I think that is one more reason she
- 16:17doesn't do it.
- 16:18I don't think she has the honor or
- 16:19gumption to want to try to beat Tia.
- 16:22You don't become as good as Laura is
- 16:26without having gumption and honor and the
- 16:31work ethic to get her to where she
- 16:33is today.
- 16:36She is arguably, I would argue,
- 16:38the second best CrossFitter to ever walk
- 16:42the planet.
- 16:43She has one hole.
- 16:46I think if you put Laura up against
- 16:48Katrin and Annie in their primes,
- 16:51Laura wins.
- 16:52They have more holes.
- 16:54She has one.
- 16:56She has one hole that she has to
- 16:57overcome.
- 16:58They have several holes.
- 17:02Their holes were just more,
- 17:03they were minimal to the rest of the
- 17:05field.
- 17:09So to say she doesn't have the gumption
- 17:11or honor is asinine.
- 17:15Asinine.
- 17:17You don't get to where she is without
- 17:20having gumption, work ethic,
- 17:22champion's mindset, all of those things.
- 17:26You just don't.
- 17:30Everybody that's at the CrossFit Games has
- 17:32a mindset that none of us can understand
- 17:34or comprehend.
- 17:35They are the top tip of the spear
- 17:37of everything.
- 17:40We have to understand that when we're
- 17:41looking at people and we're saying that
- 17:44they're just mailing it in or they're just
- 17:46doing this or that.
- 17:47You don't get to that spot mailing it
- 17:50in.
- 17:52You don't.
- 17:57Everybody is letting their hate for Laura
- 17:59cloud logic.
- 18:05And I said this yesterday,
- 18:06and I'm going to say it again today.
- 18:07The more people pile on the hate,
- 18:10the more I'm starting to love her.
- 18:15I want now,
- 18:16because of all of the hate piled on
- 18:18her, I want her to kick everybody's ass.
- 18:24That's what's crazy.
- 18:27It's insanity that people are letting this
- 18:31hate for her cloud her judgment.
- 18:36FFS says,
- 18:37there are other girls who are a lot
- 18:38closer to beating Laura than she is to
- 18:41beating Tia.
- 18:45Okay.
- 18:46Show me the proof.
- 18:48I think there are some athletes on the
- 18:50up and come that are going to come
- 18:52close.
- 18:54I would agree with that in some
- 18:55circumstances.
- 18:57But none of them have proved it yet.
- 19:00None of them have put down the resume
- 19:02that Laura has put down.
- 19:09And like I said before,
- 19:11I think Laura is closer to being a
- 19:13bulletproof athlete than anybody else has
- 19:15been in the past.
- 19:17The only female bulletproof athlete that
- 19:20we have ever had is Tia.
- 19:21And that's why she is the standard bearer.
- 19:25To beat her when she is bulletproof.
- 19:29She is the predator.
- 19:31She is the villain at the end of
- 19:32the movie that you have to overcome to
- 19:37be the hero.
- 19:40Because she is bulletproof.
- 19:41Because she is invincible.
- 19:44No other athlete has ever been able to
- 19:46say that on the female side.
- 19:48None.
- 19:50Laura has one hole.
- 19:53She can't do strict deficit handstand
- 19:56pushups.
- 19:57That is it.
- 20:00She's as close to bulletproof as we have,
- 20:05other than Tia actually being it.
- 20:08Now,
- 20:08do I think other athletes are getting
- 20:11closer and closer to that?
- 20:12Yes.
- 20:16But right now,
- 20:17Laura is the closest we have.
- 20:25Aaron Frazier,
- 20:26Mal had the potential but bowed out.
- 20:29She was coming close, but apparently,
- 20:34and this is not to be mean because
- 20:37Mal got to places nobody else did.
- 20:41Her overall mindset and commitment wasn't
- 20:44there.
- 20:46She walked away.
- 20:48She found out that there was more to
- 20:50life than CrossFit,
- 20:52and that is why she did not reach
- 20:54bulletproof status.
- 21:03My friend's son was a hockey player
- 21:04playing in England and was a past player
- 21:09on the Penguins whose throat bled out on
- 21:12the ice and family didn't stop being
- 21:13involved in the NHL.
- 21:14They got more involved to find solutions.
- 21:20I understand that.
- 21:21I know that story.
- 21:24I'm sorry for their loss.
- 21:26I like the example that that sport went
- 21:28on.
- 21:28The family went on.
- 21:29I get that.
- 21:30But we all grieve differently, too.
- 21:32We have to understand that as well.
- 21:39Mike DeVito,
- 21:40Mal's getting close to the perfect
- 21:42sourdough bread recipe,
- 21:43so she still has that.
- 21:46You got to have goals in life.
- 21:48And honestly,
- 21:49like if that's what is making Mal happy,
- 21:51then that is awesome.
- 21:54Like go for it.
- 21:54Be the best sourdough bread maker you can
- 21:56be.
- 21:59I've said on this show a million times,
- 22:01when I grew up,
- 22:02I wanted to be a sportscaster.
- 22:03That's all I wanted to be in my
- 22:05whole life.
- 22:06And then like your brain kicks and said,
- 22:08how am I going to make money doing
- 22:09that?
- 22:10So I'm go to college and I get
- 22:12my business degree and I get my MBA
- 22:14and I work in this corporate nine to
- 22:16five BS my whole life.
- 22:18And at forty nine, I said,
- 22:20this is dumb.
- 22:21Create your own podcast and be what you
- 22:23want to be.
- 22:30If you find what makes you happy and
- 22:33you go at it a hundred percent,
- 22:35if that's making sourdough bread, Mal,
- 22:37go for it.
- 22:38And I support it a hundred percent.
- 22:43But to say that Laura doesn't care about
- 22:46beating Tia didn't watch Rogue a couple
- 22:50years ago.
- 22:52And when you watch the reaction to her
- 22:54beating Tia, it meant something to her.
- 22:57Now she needs to do it on Tia's
- 23:00home court.
- 23:01The problem with that is if Tia comes
- 23:03out that she's pregnant,
- 23:05we're not going to have that matchup
- 23:06anyway.
- 23:08But I digress.
- 23:09That's not what this is about.
- 23:11This is about assuming that Tia will be
- 23:13around to take on.
- 23:21I just find it preposterous that people
- 23:25would think that Laura doesn't have the
- 23:27mindset to take on Tia.
- 23:29That girl ain't afraid of nobody.
- 23:35And if she could get that win,
- 23:36it would mean her career to her.
- 23:44Laura cares about beating everyone,
- 23:46just like Tia.
- 23:46Two sides of the same coin.
- 23:48Yes.
- 23:48Yes.
- 23:49Yes.
- 23:55John George,
- 23:56I think Tia wants Laura there just as
- 23:57much as Laura wants to take on Tia.
- 24:01I agree with you.
- 24:04If you are a champion and you have
- 24:05a champion's mindset,
- 24:06you want to beat the best there is
- 24:08out there.
- 24:18I agree.
- 24:19I agree.
- 24:20Completely.
- 24:21Completely.
- 24:23All right.
- 24:25So what else do we have?
- 24:27I have to,
- 24:27I have a meeting at one that I
- 24:28think is going to get canceled, but I've,
- 24:31I just got,
- 24:32I have to end in time to be
- 24:33there just in case it wasn't a wonder
- 24:38percent.
- 24:38John Tia doesn't want to beat scrubs.
- 24:40No one at the top does no fun
- 24:42in that, right?
- 24:44You want to prove you're great.
- 24:46If you're Tia or Laura,
- 24:48you want to beat the best out there
- 24:50because you want to show that you are
- 24:52the best who has ever done it.
- 24:59There was also a comment about watching
- 25:01out for Lucy because she beat Laura at
- 25:03Wadapalooza.
- 25:04And again,
- 25:05I think that Wadapalooza is down on the
- 25:07priority list of wins.
- 25:09I think you have a couple competitions a
- 25:12year that people make sure they're at
- 25:14their best to be at.
- 25:16And Wadapalooza isn't necessarily one of
- 25:18those.
- 25:25Ken Wolters,
- 25:25then the argument would be that Laura
- 25:27didn't beat Tia in her prime.
- 25:28There's always going to be arguments.
- 25:29There's always going to be speculation.
- 25:32But if she gets the win,
- 25:35it makes that argument tighter.
- 25:37It makes the gap between who was better
- 25:41tighter tighter.
- 25:43And it would take a monumental end of
- 25:46her career for Laura to get close to
- 25:49being the best ever.
- 25:50I mean, Tia is the GOAT.
- 25:53She has eight championships.
- 25:56Laura's never going to have eight.
- 26:07Mike DeVito agreed.
- 26:07You can't really count Waza or WFP for
- 26:11that matter.
- 26:13Wadapalooza had a few and a few others
- 26:15for many are just a check-in comp to
- 26:17see themselves in the field.
- 26:19Agreed.
- 26:20I think Wadapalooza has become, well,
- 26:22I don't know what it's going to become
- 26:23now that it's more in the season.
- 26:26But the January Waterpalooza version was,
- 26:29hey, I've been training in the offseason.
- 26:31I want to go see where I stand,
- 26:33where I sit going into the season and
- 26:37just kind of see where that is.
- 26:39And I don't think it's necessarily always
- 26:42about the win for people there.
- 26:45Now, once you're there,
- 26:45you're trying to win,
- 26:47but you're not preparing for it going in.
- 26:50You're not changing up your training going
- 26:52into that.
- 27:05Sorry about that.
- 27:07My nose was filling up and I needed
- 27:09to get that out so I could keep
- 27:10talking.
- 27:11All right.
- 27:14So what else do I want to talk
- 27:15about?
- 27:17I only have a couple minutes left.
- 27:19I wanted to let you guys know that
- 27:21yesterday we had Justin Cutler in the
- 27:22chat.
- 27:23We had some interesting back and forth
- 27:25with him and some of the people in
- 27:26the chat.
- 27:27So I gave him a call.
- 27:28He's going to be on tomorrow.
- 27:29We're going to get to talk to him
- 27:30live.
- 27:32It's lunch with friends tomorrow at noon.
- 27:35So I'll be on fifteen minutes earlier
- 27:37tomorrow with Justin Cutler.
- 27:39We're going to talk about Alex Kazan.
- 27:41We're going to talk about the move to
- 27:42HWPO.
- 27:44And we're going to talk about what a
- 27:45bulletproof athlete is.
- 27:46He's the one that like made me familiar
- 27:48with that term.
- 27:50And,
- 27:51and that's what he's trying to get Alex
- 27:52to be is the next bulletproof athlete.
- 27:57So we're going to talk about all that
- 27:58stuff in a very,
- 28:01if you haven't seen the lunch with the
- 28:02friends yet, it's less interview style,
- 28:04more kind of back and forth,
- 28:06just conversation.
- 28:07But we're going to do that tomorrow at
- 28:09noon for our lunch break tomorrow.
- 28:12Also,
- 28:12I watched the Mayhem podcast this morning.
- 28:16If everybody's forgotten,
- 28:18the Everyday Heroes final is in a week
- 28:24and a half.
- 28:26In a week and a half.
- 28:27So I think it's on the seventeenth.
- 28:32No, fifteenth.
- 28:33Fifteenth in Mayhem.
- 28:36And so what it is,
- 28:36is all the people, the firefighters,
- 28:38the police officers, the military,
- 28:40the educators,
- 28:42the medical staff who all finished in the
- 28:45at the top of their category.
- 28:48are going to be competing in Cookville to
- 28:51see who the champions are.
- 28:53Our very own Carolyn Prevost is
- 28:56representing educators.
- 28:58So she will be there competing in a
- 29:01week and a half for that.
- 29:05In addition,
- 29:06they announced that Jack Rosema is going
- 29:08to represent military.
- 29:10So there's some bigger hitters in this
- 29:12Everyday Heroes comp.
- 29:14And Mayhem is going to make a documentary
- 29:16about the competition and show kind of
- 29:20what happened as a post-production piece.
- 29:23So you can watch that and see how
- 29:25it all went down.
- 29:26And they always do a great job of
- 29:28that.
- 29:29So it's going to be really cool to
- 29:30see that happening.
- 29:34What else?
- 29:35I think that's pretty much everything that
- 29:37I had today.
- 29:40Mike DeVito,
- 29:40her leg might actually be bulletproof now.
- 29:43There may be some metal in there.
- 29:46Good point.
- 29:47Good point.
- 29:49Yesterday in the chat,
- 29:50Justin was saying that Alex did that
- 29:53performance at Rogue with five weeks of
- 29:59being cleared to squat.
- 30:02So can you imagine with a full training
- 30:08session how good she might do at an
- 30:11event?
- 30:13We're going to talk about all that with
- 30:14Justin tomorrow for sure.
- 30:20Howie, I'm on a delay, Scott,
- 30:22but whoever did that in the league is
- 30:24just not a good person.
- 30:26I said it flat out.
- 30:27He's a jackass and will not be welcome
- 30:29back in any of our leagues again.
- 30:36So, yeah.
- 30:38So with that, guys,
- 30:40I wish I knew if this one o'clock
- 30:42meeting was being canceled or not,
- 30:44but I can't take that chance because I
- 30:47want to keep my job and keep doing
- 30:48this at the same time.
- 30:51So with that, it's been a blast.
- 30:54Dawnfall in like fourteen minutes.
- 30:59Fourteen minutes or so will be on the
- 31:00CrossFit podcast.
- 31:02Luka Jukic in the same fourteen minutes
- 31:05will be on Coffee Pods and WODs.
- 31:07So pick your poison.
- 31:09Go over there.
- 31:10Check out some stuff.
- 31:12See what you want to hang out for.
- 31:17Say hi for me.
- 31:22Mike DeVito.
- 31:23I risk my job every day for the
- 31:24Stevon podcast.
- 31:26Always around my meeting times.
- 31:28yeah yeah i have some morning meetings
- 31:32every week that i i have to like
- 31:34bounce in and out of stuff but that's
- 31:36why i'm not in the chats a ton
- 31:38on those because i just have them where
- 31:41i'm listening not necessarily
- 31:43participating um sometimes i get to
- 31:45participate sometimes i don't uh but i
- 31:48always listen um
- 31:52my day is every morning I, I,
- 31:54I literally get up,
- 31:55I sign into work and I put on
- 31:57get up and that's my,
- 31:59my breakaway to other sports.
- 32:01So I can hear about the bears and
- 32:03hockey and football and baseball.
- 32:06And then I go into the savant show
- 32:09if I don't have meetings.
- 32:11And then the afternoon is just picking and
- 32:13diving into all the content that's out
- 32:15there.
- 32:16So there it is.
- 32:21a Sean in Oregon.
- 32:22I faked having something,
- 32:24having to do something to get out of
- 32:25a meeting to listen to this live today.
- 32:28Well, thank you.
- 32:29That means a ton.
- 32:31Uh, uh, Mike DeVito.
- 32:35And if my boss is watching this,
- 32:37my laptop was hacked and it's not really
- 32:39me.
- 32:40Yeah.
- 32:40Good point.
- 32:42Way to, way to cover it up.
- 32:43Mike.
- 32:44Good job with that guys.
- 32:46It's been fun.
- 32:48Um,
- 32:49Still begging for that Sriracha
- 32:51sponsorship.
- 32:52If anybody has any connections.
- 32:54I know Holly clipped a picture and tagged
- 32:58in the owner of Sriracha.
- 33:00Trying to get us that Sriracha
- 33:01sponsorship.
- 33:03But I had it on my eggs again
- 33:04this morning.
- 33:04I sent a picture to Corey.
- 33:06And it was delicious.
- 33:09Every morning.
- 33:10Broccoli slaw.
- 33:12Egg whites.
- 33:13One egg.
- 33:14And Sriracha.
- 33:17My Chinese ketchup.
- 33:18With that,
- 33:19I'm going to leave you on that note,
- 33:20and we will see everybody tomorrow.
- 33:23For Justin Kotler, Lunch with Friends,
- 33:26noon tomorrow, fifteen minutes early.
- 33:28Be here.
