- 0:00Speaker 1: Mmm, Bobby. We've added some merch from when Bobby wasn't
- 0:05Speaker 1: helping me figure out how to talk to him or whatever.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We have a Bobby collab that is loose now on TheoVonStore.com.
- 0:13Speaker 1: You can check it out. And we sprinkled in some
- 0:15Speaker 1: other new items and restocked some old classics. Again, it's TheoVonStore.com.
- 0:21Speaker 1: And thanks so much for your support. More there. Today's
- 0:25Speaker 1: guest is a comedian from Opelika, Alabama. He has a
- 0:30Speaker 1: new special out on Netflix called Wet Heat. Wet Heat!
- 0:36Speaker 1: He has his own podcast called We Are Having a
- 0:38Speaker 1: Good Time. I'm very thankful to spend time today with Mr.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Dusty Slay. Shine on me, and I will follow.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, what's the... I see the hat. It's a Cole
- 1:06Speaker 2: Wetzel hat?
- 1:07Speaker 3: That's a Cole, yeah. Well, what's the lightning bolt?
- 1:11Speaker 1: I don't know. It's probably weather. I mean, they're doing
- 1:13Speaker 1: all that weather seating now.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That cloud seating.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Maybe he's involved in that shit. Maybe he is.
- 1:18Speaker 3: He could be.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 1:20Speaker 3: That's how they get the record deal now.
- 1:22Speaker 1: He looks like he definitely... He looks a little humid sometimes.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I do know. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:33Speaker 1: But, uh, you look great, man.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I appreciate it. Yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Good to see you. Congrats on the new special.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Thank you. Yeah. I'm pumped. I mean, it feels good.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I'm, I'm, uh, third one. You're kind of your third one.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Kind of. Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I got a half hour, but these are, yeah, both
- 1:47Speaker 2: self-produced wet heat and working man. So it's fun to,
- 1:51Speaker 2: You know, Netflix is not like, hey, we're going to
- 1:53Speaker 2: give you a special.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I have to film it and then sell it to them. Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 3: So it feels good that they're buying it.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And you do the work, man. Yeah. I saw you
- 2:01Speaker 1: were trending yesterday or the day before on Netflix. That
- 2:05Speaker 1: had to feel good.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it felt good. I hit seven. That was, you know,
- 2:08Speaker 3: last time I think I hit two.
- 2:10Speaker 1: No way.
- 2:11Speaker 3: But seven is still good, though. I like seven.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Well, a lot of people are still really stuck in
- 2:15Speaker 1: that missing woman off the cruise ship.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And it's hard to go up against that.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, because they put a special up against TV. So
- 2:24Speaker 2: if you watch a full season of a show, then
- 2:27Speaker 2: that's like, you know, each episode is a watch. But
- 2:30Speaker 2: you have to watch a special over and over again
- 2:33Speaker 2: to get that kind of.
- 2:34Speaker 3: You're lying. I think that's how it works. Yeah. Like
- 2:37Speaker 3: if you're watching Seinfeld, every episode is a watch. Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And most people watch a comedy special one time.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Oh, if someone's watching it more than one time, they're
- 2:47Speaker 1: not– yeah, I think they're probably kidnapped or whatever. They're
- 2:51Speaker 1: not doing that.
- 2:51Speaker 3: They're locked in my basement. That's a great point, dude.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And they're also called my wife. That's another person, dude. Dude,
- 3:01Speaker 1: you know what I was thinking yesterday? Dude, they don't
- 3:02Speaker 1: have any more– there's not a lot of cross-eyed people.
- 3:06Speaker 1: anymore you know.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah you don't see it a lot maybe glasses are
- 3:10Speaker 2: fixing it but yeah you don't see it.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Were you part of like that cross-eyed realm or whatever uh.
- 3:16Speaker 2: No no I mean I don't think I was ever
- 3:18Speaker 2: crossed out I might have been in the realm yeah
- 3:20Speaker 2: because I remember people with an eye you know they'd
- 3:23Speaker 2: be now I got some land out in McMinnville and
- 3:26Speaker 2: I went into a I I wandered I thought it
- 3:28Speaker 2: was a thrift store turned out to be a museum
- 3:31Speaker 2: and the guy the guy had a bad eye I
- 3:36Speaker 2: think he had a glass eye.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I think he was excited I was in there.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Because he didn't have anybody to tell stories to.
- 3:43Speaker 2: He talked to me for a long time.
- 3:45Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 3:45Speaker 3: So they are still out there. They're just in. They're
- 3:48Speaker 3: hidden away.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And that's McMinnville, Tennessee?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yeah, McMinnville, Tennessee.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I haven't been there. Is it a nice community?
- 3:53Speaker 3: It is nice. I got a little land there.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I got a little cabin where I'm trying to build
- 3:57Speaker 2: an orchard. But McMinnville feels real tucked away. It's a
- 4:00Speaker 2: good bit off the interstate.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Wow, that's beautiful looking.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, mountain town, you got a lot of kayaking, a
- 4:05Speaker 3: lot of.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Really?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the nursery capital of the world, they say.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Because of what, just birth rate or whatever?
- 4:11Speaker 3: No, like trees, like plant nursery.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Oh, damn, brother, hell yeah. No, I'm from Opelika, Alabama. Oh, okay, sorry,
- 4:19Speaker 1: you're from Alabama.
- 4:20Speaker 2: But I got, you know, I just, during COVID, I was,
- 4:24Speaker 2: I didn't know what was happening. I had a little money,
- 4:26Speaker 2: so I bought 10 acres of land.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, God.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And I was like, if we never get to go
- 4:31Speaker 2: back out to stores again, I want to walk around
- 4:34Speaker 2: some pasture land.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:36Speaker 2: You know, and McMinnville, I mean, I walked into a
- 4:39Speaker 2: restaurant there with a mask on and that place was
- 4:42Speaker 2: packed and I don't think they had ever seen a mask.
- 4:44Speaker 3: And I was like, well, that's what I'm talking about.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I ripped it off. I mean, I was like, this
- 4:49Speaker 3: is freedom out here.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, you got to yell, right when you pull
- 4:52Speaker 1: it off, you know, just to let people know, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 1: he didn't mean the mask.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Exactly. He may have.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Gotten the shot, but they'll never get the homophobia out
- 5:04Speaker 1: of him.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:06Speaker 1: They'll never shake that.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, he may end up cross-eyed again. Oh, dude, yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Because sometimes a cross-eyed guy looks like somebody that wants
- 5:15Speaker 1: to yell a racial slur but just won't let it out.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Like if he did, it would just fix his fucking sight.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, then you don't know who he's looking
- 5:21Speaker 3: at when he says it. That's true. That's true, dude.
- 5:24Speaker 3: So it could be aimed at anybody. Yeah, that's beautiful.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Um, but yeah, you don't see it anymore. I just
- 5:29Speaker 1: remember when I was a kid, you would see more
- 5:31Speaker 1: of that. Didn't you think you saw more of that?
- 5:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I felt like there was like always like a, a
- 5:35Speaker 2: slower class when I was in high school where you
- 5:38Speaker 2: would see them come through the hallway and you sometimes,
- 5:41Speaker 2: some of them, you were like, I don't know why
- 5:42Speaker 2: they're in there.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And others, you could clearly see why they were in there.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I feel like there would be a guy with real
- 5:49Speaker 2: thick glasses and you would not know what he's looking at.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Just like he, almost like he should have
- 5:55Speaker 1: worked for a submarine, but they discontinued him when they
- 5:58Speaker 1: like made the technology or whatever.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Like, oh, he should be the one on top of
- 6:03Speaker 1: the sub holding his breath.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah. Oh dude, totally.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Bro, the first wig they ever had in our town,
- 6:11Speaker 1: they put in learning disabled, man. And I've talked about,
- 6:13Speaker 1: I actually talked about that on stage, but, um, and
- 6:15Speaker 1: shout out Brian Purvis that has put some money on
- 6:17Speaker 1: his books. Actually. He's, uh, he didn't do it. He
- 6:20Speaker 1: might've done it, but he's in, he's in, I think
- 6:22Speaker 1: he's in jail now, but, They'd never seen a white
- 6:24Speaker 1: kid that wanted to be black and they threw him
- 6:25Speaker 1: in there.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. That's too bad. The guy just had some
- 6:29Speaker 3: style and some flair about him. Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 1: But he would just be in the hall like doing
- 6:34Speaker 1: like invisible crossovers on all the other hand. So he
- 6:38Speaker 1: was just like playing like just full court offense against
- 6:41Speaker 1: the rest of the.
- 6:42Speaker 3: He probably liked that he was in there. He's like,
- 6:43Speaker 3: this is easy. This is a dream for me. Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: He probably did, man.
- 6:48Speaker 3: So far to get to the back of the bus. Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, true, dude. Yeah, man, I just, there was
- 6:55Speaker 1: times I remember you see that. Like, I just remember
- 6:58Speaker 1: there used to be more disabilities that were normal, I
- 7:01Speaker 1: felt like, normalized.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, like maybe they just didn't know where
- 7:05Speaker 2: to put people, right? So they were just wandering around. And,
- 7:08Speaker 2: you know, I grew up in a trailer park, so
- 7:09Speaker 2: I felt like there was a little bit of that
- 7:11Speaker 2: in the trailer park.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 2: You never knew if somebody was just like, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 2: real redneck, real country, or if they're just, you know,
- 7:17Speaker 2: they got a speech impediment.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh, well, dude, even the name Dusty, I mean, I
- 7:22Speaker 1: remember there were names that were kind of, I don't
- 7:26Speaker 1: want to say weather-related, but off, like, sunny.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Like a windy.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yes, sunny, windy, dusty. Drizzle got into, like, the black
- 7:38Speaker 1: kind of country group.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Drizzle, yeah, yeah. But there was other ones that
- 7:41Speaker 3: was like— Misty, did we say Misty?
- 7:44Speaker 1: No, we didn't.
- 7:44Speaker 3: That was a big one. Misty was very popular.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Misty felt like, I know some Misty, so I don't
- 7:50Speaker 2: want to talk trash, but it felt like, yeah, it
- 7:52Speaker 2: was like they were attractive, but a little loose with
- 7:55Speaker 2: it sometimes.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. Like they'd put their bra on,
- 8:00Speaker 1: but wouldn't snap it together.
- 8:01Speaker 3: In the back. Yeah, they wanted people to see it. Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Oh, dude, Mistys were usually pretty cute, weren't they?
- 8:08Speaker 2: I think so. I can't think of an unattractive Misty ever.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I know a few misties.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That was kind of country hot, man. Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 3: That was kind of country hot. Yeah, and you maybe
- 8:19Speaker 3: get a little misty-eyed around them.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Maybe that's why they named them that. Yeah, I'm trying
- 8:25Speaker 1: to think. Yeah, Sunny, Dusty, Misty. Oh, there was one more.
- 8:30Speaker 1: We had a girl, Stormy.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Oh, Stormy, yeah, yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 1: We had a girl named Stormy Bernard that used to
- 8:37Speaker 1: play– volleyball in our town and they didn't even have volleyball,
- 8:40Speaker 1: but she told her, but she played it or whatever.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah. She had good legs. Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yeah. If you have good legs, it's believable that you
- 8:47Speaker 2: play volleyball or, or softball.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 3: That's believable. Girls with good legs and you're just a
- 8:53Speaker 3: stoutness about them. Like an attractive stoutness.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 1: That's nice.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Yeah, dude.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I love that. I love that about growing up, like
- 9:00Speaker 1: in a kind of a rural area because we weren't
- 9:02Speaker 1: in a trailer park. We were just kind of like
- 9:04Speaker 1: in a white, just like, It wasn't super redneck bus.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It was just like kind of trashy. Yeah. And no judgment.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Shout out to everybody from McGee Street. But it just
- 9:14Speaker 1: was what it was. You know, they know it. Nobody
- 9:16Speaker 1: was fucking... Nobody was pretending what was going on.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, we had a trailer park. Our trailer park was
- 9:21Speaker 2: like half Asian. We had a lot of Laotian people
- 9:24Speaker 2: in Opelika.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Really? Yeah, so our bus stop was... you know, me
- 9:28Speaker 3: and the Asian kids.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Oh, that's beautiful.
- 9:30Speaker 3: It was fun.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Dude, y'all should have made a music video or something.
- 9:33Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 9:33Speaker 3: It did seem exotic.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And as I got older, I felt like when I
- 9:37Speaker 2: was getting off the bus with the Asian kids, it
- 9:39Speaker 2: made me, it's like, it felt like, because you feel
- 9:41Speaker 2: insecure about getting off at a trailer park, but when
- 9:43Speaker 2: it's with the other Asian kids, you feel like, well,
- 9:46Speaker 2: you know, we got something going on here.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Right.
- 9:48Speaker 1: It's almost like, look, I'm here supporting them. It gives
- 9:50Speaker 1: you that.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got, you know, I got a vibe. Yeah.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You know, God, we're doing something you wouldn't even understand.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Yeah. You don't get what we got going on.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Oh, dude. Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 1: If you'd have got all the Muslims a bunch of
- 10:01Speaker 1: Asian people literally people would have thought on my street
- 10:04Speaker 1: people would have thought that bus came from outer space
- 10:06Speaker 1: like they just didn't even I'm sure it had to
- 10:07Speaker 1: be like that by you like do you have Laotian friends.
- 10:10Speaker 2: There yeah I mean they were at my age yeah
- 10:13Speaker 2: we were friends we hung out one guy named Enoy
- 10:15Speaker 2: we used to hang out Enoy Enoy yeah And we
- 10:18Speaker 2: used to hang out. And there was others. There was
- 10:21Speaker 2: a guy named Chukiot. He was a little older than me.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And then there was Hook. And then they had a
- 10:26Speaker 2: sister named Sherry.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Ooh, Sherry's pretty hot.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, Sherry was hot. Sherry was hot.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I actually found some pictures of Sherry that she gave
- 10:34Speaker 2: me when I was a senior. It's probably her junior pictures.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I found them in a notebook.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Did you?
- 10:40Speaker 3: I was like, wow, I still got these pictures of Sherry.
- 10:42Speaker 1: That's nice, dude.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 1: God, she sounds hot, dude. I, um.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Namburi. Namburi was the last name.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Namburi?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Sherry Namburi?
- 10:51Speaker 3: Sherry Namburi, yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 1: God, sign me up.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:54Speaker 1: We had a girl named Treasure in our neighborhood, too,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and she was hot.
- 10:59Speaker 2: That feels oddly weather-related, like pirate ship, like you're out
- 11:03Speaker 2: on the waters finding some treasure.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah, stormy, dusty, treasure. All those are kind of— Rain.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I didn't have any rains, but that's a name. Oh, yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 3: That's a name.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I know a country-ass rain lady that lives here.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Oh, yeah?
- 11:16Speaker 1: I know, like, a real country lady named Rain. What
- 11:20Speaker 1: was that trailer park like, man? How was the vibes
- 11:22Speaker 1: over there? Was it pretty cool?
- 11:23Speaker 3: It was awesome. I mean, I loved it.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It was, like, on a dirt road, about 20 trailers probably,
- 11:28Speaker 2: some tucked away a little bit in the woods. And
- 11:31Speaker 2: then on the front, like, on the main street was houses,
- 11:33Speaker 2: so we had some brick houses. Then behind those was
- 11:35Speaker 2: some trailers. And then on the end, two double wides.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 11:39Speaker 2: We had a— Enoi lived in one double wide, and then
- 11:42Speaker 2: a guy— He went to a different school, nicknamed Squirrel,
- 11:46Speaker 2: and that was my friend.
- 11:47Speaker 3: He had an above-ground pool.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Oh.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So Squirrel had it going on. I mean, his parents
- 11:53Speaker 2: were fighting all the time. Yeah. But they were, you know,
- 11:55Speaker 2: he had a stepdad named Sid, and Sid was always
- 11:58Speaker 2: yelling at him.
- 11:59Speaker 1: But you could fight all you want when you're able
- 12:00Speaker 1: to cool off in a damn above-ground pool.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Fucking heat things up.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we would pull out the tarp, and we had
- 12:07Speaker 2: a slip and slide going, some Dawn dish detergent, huge
- 12:10Speaker 2: tarp in his backyard. Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I mean, that was where it's at. Squirrel had it
- 12:13Speaker 3: going on.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Oh, well, it sounds like he was doing well. In
- 12:16Speaker 1: our neighborhood, they had some dudes were over there smoking
- 12:19Speaker 1: and getting BJs or whatever in an abandoned above ground.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So something had happened. There'd been, I don't know what
- 12:26Speaker 1: had happened, but something had happened. It could have been
- 12:28Speaker 1: a gravity thing. It could have been domestic dispute. Somebody
- 12:30Speaker 1: knifed it out or whatever. But the above ground, the
- 12:33Speaker 1: water came out of it.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And then over time or whatever, like men would hide
- 12:38Speaker 1: from their wives over there and Smoke a little weed
- 12:41Speaker 1: or something at night or whatever, you know?
- 12:43Speaker 2: I always heard about that kind of stuff, like these
- 12:45Speaker 2: kind of things going on. I never could get involved
- 12:48Speaker 2: in that as a kid.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Really?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I felt like I was like, you know,
- 12:51Speaker 2: I was like a good kid. I never could get
- 12:54Speaker 2: involved in that BJ's in the above ground pool situation.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Damn, brother.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And maybe that's for the best, you know?
- 13:01Speaker 3: I think it is.
- 13:02Speaker 2: It turned out, you know, because the cool kids in
- 13:05Speaker 2: the trailer park life, they go to jail.
- 13:09Speaker 3: They end up in jail.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 13:12Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Because they got, you know,
- 13:14Speaker 3: they're getting into trouble and it.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Seems cool, but they're trouble. They don't have a shirt on.
- 13:18Speaker 1: They're tattooing each other. Yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 2: But then they end up in jail. And you're like, oh,
- 13:24Speaker 2: I'm glad I wasn't like as cool. Now, I was cool,
- 13:27Speaker 2: but I was, you know, cool in the not getting
- 13:29Speaker 2: in trouble way.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you were like a Laotian hero.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, because the Laotian parents weren't letting that go down.
- 13:34Speaker 2: They weren't involved in that either. I don't even know
- 13:37Speaker 2: that they liked them hanging out with me, to be honest.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Wow, just because you were like, you were close enough
- 13:42Speaker 1: adjacent to the other group. They don't want you to
- 13:44Speaker 1: be a gateway drug to.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And I was wearing bandanas and stuff, you know, I
- 13:50Speaker 2: was like, you know, camouflage bandanas, not.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Red or, or, or blue. Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Like Willie Robinson or whatever.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Is it Roberson?
- 13:59Speaker 3: Oh yeah. Yeah. More like that. You know what? I'll
- 14:01Speaker 3: be honest with you. I always put a T in
- 14:03Speaker 3: there unnecessarily.
- 14:05Speaker 1: And it may have, it may have, they may have
- 14:06Speaker 1: gotten rid of it. Who knows? A lot of people are,
- 14:09Speaker 1: Trying to hide from taxes.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 3: They're trying to hide from taxes. They're like, oh, no, no, no.
- 14:16Speaker 3: This is Willie Robertson. I'm Roberson. Yeah, now I will
- 14:22Speaker 3: admit we look simpler. Yeah. I'll tell you straight up, man.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I'm Roberson.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Are you too hot or cold?
- 14:33Speaker 3: No, I feel great.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Okay, great.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Perfect temperature, really. Feels good. Thanks.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel pretty good. I'm wearing, I'm trying a
- 14:41Speaker 1: different shirt. I'm trying to look a little different some days.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I don't, there's a lot of times I don't feel
- 14:47Speaker 1: like doing, I want to stay in a similar pattern.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I don't want to try something super new, but then
- 14:51Speaker 1: every now and then maybe three times a year, I'll
- 14:53Speaker 1: get up and like, I'm gonna try something different today.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:56Speaker 1: You know? And so I try, I thought I would
- 14:58Speaker 1: try this.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Shirt kind of.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Those kinds of shirts are hard for me. I feel
- 15:02Speaker 2: like the nips always come through for me.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Oh really? Yeah. This, this is working here. I guess so.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I guess I do.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 3: I don't feel like that.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I don't feel like it all the time, but if
- 15:13Speaker 2: I wear a real thin, like I used to wear
- 15:15Speaker 2: thin shirts for work and yeah, I could feel like
- 15:18Speaker 2: I need the undershirt.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Ooh, the undershirt.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I never got into the undershirt.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I was a big undershirt guy.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You were?
- 15:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 1: What took you there? Well, I guess you just told me.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Well, I feel like undershirts were the thing for a while.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Even t-shirts. When I was in school, we would wear
- 15:36Speaker 3: two t-shirts.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Oh, that's crazy.
- 15:38Speaker 3: You never, well, you grew up in Louisiana. It's a
- 15:40Speaker 3: bit hotter there.
- 15:41Speaker 1: That's true. But you already had a shirt on to
- 15:43Speaker 1: flex and be like, oh. Because in our neighborhood, we
- 15:46Speaker 1: have people with no shirts on.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 15:48Speaker 1: So to be like, I'm going to wear two shirts.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And some guys like, you know.
- 15:53Speaker 3: It looked like you took his shirt.
- 15:57Speaker 1: He didn't know a lot of math, but I'll tell
- 15:59Speaker 1: you this, that didn't add up.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Or either he was like, you hold my shirt. If
- 16:04Speaker 3: I need it, I'll come to you, but don't wrinkle it.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Keep it on. Keep it fresh.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I did.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I do remember in the neighborhood and like in our neighborhood,
- 16:13Speaker 1: like if you got good grades, like that kind of
- 16:15Speaker 1: shit wasn't cool, really. you didn't want to be like
- 16:18Speaker 1: too smart. You didn't want, you know, you kind of
- 16:20Speaker 1: just had to play the game of like fitting in,
- 16:23Speaker 1: but not fitting too in.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 2: You know, my dad would make fun of me for reading,
- 16:29Speaker 2: but also wanted me to make good grades. And I
- 16:32Speaker 2: was like, I got, it's one or the other here.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You can't make fun of me for doing the homework
- 16:38Speaker 2: and go, why are you not passing?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Oh, you can't have your C-A-K-E and eat it too.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:43Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 16:44Speaker 3: Yeah. If you spell in front of him, he wouldn't
- 16:45Speaker 3: get it.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Oh God.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 2: He would make, my dad has said, I've heard my
- 16:50Speaker 2: dad say, I ain't never read a book.
- 16:52Speaker 3: He likes that. It's a brag for him.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 3: And I'm not a big reader, but I've read a book,
- 16:59Speaker 3: you know? Yeah, dude.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Oh, in our neighborhood, it was like, if somebody could
- 17:03Speaker 1: whistle really good, they had fucking clout, you know?
- 17:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Like, oh, fucking get Donnie over here. You can fucking hear,
- 17:10Speaker 1: get him over here. And somebody would go get Donnie
- 17:13Speaker 1: and he'd come down on his bike and he'd, you know,
- 17:15Speaker 1: he's an adult with a bike, you know, but he'd
- 17:17Speaker 1: get there and he'd pull up and he'd fucking have
- 17:20Speaker 1: half a can of beer and then he'd whistle, you know?
- 17:23Speaker 3: It's the weird talents.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 3: It's like you got a little something.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah. There was just something like, but I think it
- 17:29Speaker 1: was just like what it was like. That was just
- 17:31Speaker 1: the energy around, you know, it was just kind of
- 17:32Speaker 1: calm people doing stuff. It was just pretty basic back then.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Like even just have a squirrel had laser disc.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And I remember that my mom worked at a plant
- 17:43Speaker 2: that made VHS tapes. Oh, God. So I told my
- 17:46Speaker 2: mom that squirrel had laser disc and she got real
- 17:49Speaker 2: mad at me because I guess I came home bragging
- 17:52Speaker 2: about the stuff that squirrel had at his house. And
- 17:56Speaker 2: laser disc was a potential threat to her income.
- 17:59Speaker 1: To your family.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 1: You're down there on the other double wide.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Look, swimming in an above ground pool, watching laser desk.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Living high on the hog.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:09Speaker 1: God.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Meanwhile, my mom wasn't yelling at me like squirrel's mom was,
- 18:14Speaker 2: but I'm like, these things seem cool.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Yeah. I could take a little yelling for a few perks. Oh, yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 3: for sure, dude.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Oh, my big thing was peeing on the floor in
- 18:24Speaker 1: my room. I remember when I was a kid, that
- 18:26Speaker 1: was like one of my big tricks or whatever. Like,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I never could whistle. And then I'm trying to think
- 18:32Speaker 1: of what else. Oh.
- 18:33Speaker 3: What would peeing on the floor give you?
- 18:35Speaker 1: Just fucking.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Being like, I can do whatever I want?
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Like, my mom can't do nothing. I'll pee on the
- 18:42Speaker 3: floor if I want.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Okay. We'll show them.
- 18:44Speaker 3: You can't pee on the floor at your trailer or
- 18:46Speaker 3: your house, but I can.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, dude, I think there was a part
- 18:51Speaker 1: of me that thought, like, One day I'm going to
- 18:53Speaker 1: have my whole room fucking collapse right into the fucking
- 18:55Speaker 1: living room and I'll show all these motherfuckers.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Like an alien spaceship just landing, you know?
- 19:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 19:03Speaker 1: What else? Yeah. Oh, I remember my buddy's dad got
- 19:06Speaker 1: his wife. So my buddy's mom got her a window,
- 19:11Speaker 1: like their window had been out for a while. And
- 19:13Speaker 1: he got him a window and he put it in
- 19:16Speaker 1: upside down, right?
- 19:17Speaker 3: So it was like, fuck. But it wasn't coming out.
- 19:20Speaker 3: So you just let it down like that. You let
- 19:22Speaker 3: it down like it's a car.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah. It wasn't bad, but it was just.
- 19:29Speaker 2: He might be sitting out there with his arm propped
- 19:31Speaker 2: up on it like he's riding in the truck.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he just leans into the house like, how you doing?
- 19:39Speaker 3: Misty's out in the yard. He's letting it down. Yeah. dude.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Shit like that. Just regular shit. I've just been in
- 19:51Speaker 3: here peeing in the floor. Yeah, yeah. Hold on.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Let me put a cork in my wiener and I'll
- 19:56Speaker 1: come out there and take a look at that new...
- 20:00Speaker 1: That's fucking damn. That thing works with gravity. That window, huh?
- 20:04Speaker 1: That's different.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Yeah. That's the way.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It really is. Yeah. Because the old way where you
- 20:09Speaker 1: push the window up, you're defying gravity.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 1: That's damn wizardry. Most guys enter the room... Wiener first.

- 22:23Speaker 1: like that about growing up. Was it real poor by you,
- 22:26Speaker 1: or did it feel organized? Did anybody have that trailer
- 22:29Speaker 1: with the lattice work around the bottom of it?
- 22:32Speaker 2: I think we all had 10. I mean, I got
- 22:34Speaker 2: to think somebody had lattice. But, you know, our trailer,
- 22:37Speaker 2: we had 10 around it.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Okay, but you did have that skirt on it.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah, we had it covered.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, that's actually not bad right there.
- 22:45Speaker 3: That looks good.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 3: But, you know, then cats can get in there and
- 22:48Speaker 3: have babies under the trailer.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Oh, with that lattice work?
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they could squeeze their little head under there.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And then they get in there and they start tearing
- 22:55Speaker 2: out your insulation. And they have babies up in there.
- 22:58Speaker 3: God. You just hear a lot of meowing all the time. Oh, dude.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Well, also, a lot of those baby cats are the
- 23:05Speaker 1: asbestos cats or whatever, because a lot of them get
- 23:09Speaker 1: up in that insulation like you're saying. They get that
- 23:11Speaker 1: asbestos on them.
- 23:11Speaker 3: And then you let them in the trailer, and now
- 23:13Speaker 3: you're all itchy.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Oh, dude. I would notice I'd pet a cat about
- 23:17Speaker 1: 40 times, and my hand would have little cuts on it.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. You could give a cat allergy.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Oh, dude, the asbestos cats needs to be a group
- 23:27Speaker 1: of cats that save a fucking trailer park.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Yeah, you could line the cats up as
- 23:32Speaker 3: insulation if they got enough.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Just put a little bit of tuna paste on the
- 23:39Speaker 1: walls in there and have them in there.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 1: God, yeah, there was something. They had lattice work. I
- 23:44Speaker 1: remember that was one good thing you would see. Dude, somebody,
- 23:47Speaker 1: we had a balcony or whatever. We lived in like,
- 23:49Speaker 1: it was like four apartments next to each other. And
- 23:53Speaker 1: somebody stole our– would steal the wood from our balcony, right?
- 23:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 2: And so– Like just wood they had laying up there
- 24:00Speaker 2: or like– or you're railing?
- 24:02Speaker 1: Oh, they'd steal it all. If you can find that photo,
- 24:05Speaker 1: it's out there somewhere. So we come back sometimes. And
- 24:08Speaker 1: my sister, each one of the bedrooms had like a
- 24:10Speaker 1: door upstairs upstairs. That would go out to the balcony, right?
- 24:14Speaker 1: And it didn't get you anywhere. It was still in
- 24:15Speaker 1: our neighborhood. We thought, like, you know, I remember the
- 24:17Speaker 1: first time going up there. There you go, right there.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Now zoom in on that bitch.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Oh, they took your whole porch.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Oh, fuck yeah, they did. But then you'd see it,
- 24:26Speaker 1: you know, three weeks later, you'd see they'd have built
- 24:29Speaker 1: a fucking fence or something in their shit.
- 24:30Speaker 3: And we're like, bitch. You're like, that's the color of
- 24:33Speaker 3: my porch.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's our fucking balcony, bitch. And they're like, no,
- 24:36Speaker 1: it ain't. Like, motherfucker. Who do you think carved God
- 24:41Speaker 1: help us into one of those boards?
- 24:43Speaker 3: Yeah. With my initials under it. That's why you got
- 24:50Speaker 3: to pee in your room. You can't go out on
- 24:51Speaker 3: the balcony anymore. Dude, I mean, shit. Zoom back in
- 24:54Speaker 3: on that bitch.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I haven't looked at this in years. But yeah, dude,
- 24:57Speaker 1: people would fucking steal the wood and they would steal.
- 25:00Speaker 1: We had a fence right in front of that bottom
- 25:03Speaker 1: door downstairs. And so people would steal that shit. So
- 25:05Speaker 1: you have to go fucking find it. My mom slapped
- 25:08Speaker 1: a kid one time because they took it, and she
- 25:10Speaker 1: had to go to jail.
- 25:11Speaker 2: My dad had a barn, and we would take wood
- 25:16Speaker 2: off the barn to build a clubhouse.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 2: And we thought the barn was abandoned. And my dad
- 25:21Speaker 2: went out there one day, he's like, where's all the wood?
- 25:24Speaker 2: And then he sees our clubhouse.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Dude, imagine having such a shitty childhood that you think
- 25:31Speaker 1: part of your fucking home is abandoned.
- 25:34Speaker 3: You're like.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Well, fucking that's a band. He's like, that's where I work.
- 25:38Speaker 1: That's crazy, dude.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:43Speaker 2: But the trailer park that I lived in, it did
- 25:45Speaker 2: feel good. It felt organized. It felt, you know, but
- 25:48Speaker 2: there was, you know, there was for a while, my
- 25:50Speaker 2: sister lived next door to us in a trailer. So
- 25:52Speaker 2: we had a trailer, my sister and her husband had
- 25:54Speaker 2: the next one. And she married into a guy who
- 25:57Speaker 2: had two kids already. So there was, you know, a
- 25:59Speaker 2: bunch of kids. We had our own little courtyard there.
- 26:01Speaker 3: In the middle.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Oh, that's nice. And it kind of sounds like.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And then people, my mom had a phone and people
- 26:07Speaker 2: would come over and borrow the phone, you know, landline.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 26:10Speaker 2: So it'd have that long cord. And so people would
- 26:12Speaker 2: be out on the back porch on the phone with
- 26:15Speaker 2: the door closed.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Like they still want privacy. Even though they're using my phone.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Hey, look, we're going to listen. If you came over here,
- 26:27Speaker 1: we're going to listen.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Oh dude. That was things like that were so much fun. Well,
- 26:33Speaker 1: one thing that money gets you is privacy or even
- 26:36Speaker 1: just like, that's one thing I even saw, I think
- 26:38Speaker 1: when I was young, like when you were poor, everything
- 26:40Speaker 1: was right there. You could hear the neighbors, you know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: in the apartment, somebody else would cook something. It would
- 26:45Speaker 1: come through your vents.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So you're hungry and you're like, fuck, they got all
- 26:48Speaker 1: that shit. And now you're yelling through the vents, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 1: fuck y'all, you know, but order, you know, but also
- 26:54Speaker 1: ordering like a number seven or whatever, you know? So,
- 26:58Speaker 1: you know, it's just like, but you would hear if
- 27:00Speaker 1: somebody was doing something bad or whatever, if somebody was
- 27:02Speaker 1: domestic dispute, you would hear.
- 27:04Speaker 3: All of that. Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 2: My buddy, his, his mom, he lived next door. His
- 27:08Speaker 2: mom had him when she was real young. So she
- 27:12Speaker 2: was like, you know, we were like, you know, early
- 27:15Speaker 2: teens and she was still pretty attractive and her and
- 27:18Speaker 2: her husband, I, or her boyfriend, I heard them like
- 27:20Speaker 2: having sex and the, and their trailer walls real thin.
- 27:23Speaker 3: So I can hear it out in the yard.
- 27:25Speaker 2: And I was like, me and my buddy, not the
- 27:27Speaker 2: buddy that was his mom, but another guy, we're like
- 27:29Speaker 2: creeping up to the, and my mom's out there raking
- 27:31Speaker 2: the yard.
- 27:32Speaker 3: She's like, get away from there. But we're like, you know,
- 27:34Speaker 3: we're like, this is pretty fun. Yeah, what's happening? Yeah,
- 27:37Speaker 3: we're hearing this attractive lady have sex. God. Middle of
- 27:41Speaker 3: the day. Oh, yeah. That was like, you know, that
- 27:44Speaker 3: could have been Cinemax for us.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Oh, dude, you don't just get something like that unless
- 27:50Speaker 1: God has favor.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I don't think anyway. That's not an accident. First of all,
- 27:55Speaker 1: two people comfortable enough to make love. Was it drug-induced,
- 28:00Speaker 1: you think?
- 28:01Speaker 3: At least alcohol-induced.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Okay. But, yeah, at least two people making love during
- 28:05Speaker 1: the day and neither one of them is a victim
- 28:08Speaker 1: of something.
- 28:09Speaker 3: And they're being loud. Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 1: They're brave then.
- 28:13Speaker 2: It's like you know we can hear it. My mom's
- 28:17Speaker 2: doing yard workout. We're into it though. We're like, this
- 28:24Speaker 2: is what I'm talking about.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Well, what if you don't really figure out it's not,
- 28:27Speaker 1: and you see your mom just rubbing the, like the,
- 28:29Speaker 1: the rake across the ground. And it's like, Oh, and
- 28:32Speaker 1: you're like, what is she? kind of new grass is
- 28:35Speaker 1: that she's like she just keeps raking.
- 28:38Speaker 2: You're like i'm like you're working too hard she's like
- 28:40Speaker 2: i enjoy it.
- 28:43Speaker 3: She's trying to cover for him yeah she's over there.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Sorry man i was just laughing like this much but
- 28:51Speaker 1: that's hilarious dude yeah i just look like there was
- 28:54Speaker 1: always something great about being in like in a shitty
- 28:57Speaker 1: neighborhood kind of you know um Because everybody was right.
- 29:02Speaker 1: If you wanted a friend, they were right there. They
- 29:04Speaker 1: were everybody. Everything was right there. But then also all
- 29:08Speaker 1: the drama and the bullshit was right there. Like if
- 29:11Speaker 1: people were fighting, if people were like, you know, the
- 29:14Speaker 1: dad was leaving, everything was right there. So everybody knew
- 29:17Speaker 1: everything you couldn't. It kind of was sad sometimes because
- 29:21Speaker 1: you didn't feel like anything was personal to you. There
- 29:24Speaker 1: was nothing you could keep for yourself.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Does that make any sense?
- 29:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think living in trailers, you're at least spread
- 29:30Speaker 2: out a little bit. Whereas apartments, yeah, you would be
- 29:33Speaker 2: right up. I mean, because I've lived in apartments since then.
- 29:36Speaker 2: But yeah, we called the police on a church one
- 29:39Speaker 2: time for playing. their music too late on a weekday.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Like the church was real close. I still think about that,
- 29:46Speaker 2: that we all agreed at the trailer to call the
- 29:49Speaker 2: police on the church. It couldn't have been that loud.
- 29:54Speaker 2: We could just hear it.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Yeah. It wasn't keeping us up.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:58Speaker 3: But we were like, no, I don't think so, guys.
- 30:00Speaker 1: God, this is... I mean, they need to turn that shit...
- 30:02Speaker 1: Because that's how it starts. I mean, should they turn
- 30:04Speaker 1: that down and somebody else is like... Somebody else has
- 30:06Speaker 1: had a beer and they're like, well, fuck.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that music. I can't hear my music. Yeah, dude,
- 30:13Speaker 3: it just gets weird.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Um.
- 30:16Speaker 1: There's always talk like tornadoes is such a big thing
- 30:18Speaker 1: with trailer parks. Was that a part of y'all's thing
- 30:20Speaker 1: or not really?
- 30:20Speaker 3: Well, I think any storm is scary when you live
- 30:24Speaker 3: in a trailer, right? It's like, you know, we were
- 30:27Speaker 3: just talking like about weather and like what storm is
- 30:31Speaker 3: the scariest. And somebody said earthquakes was the scariest for them.
- 30:34Speaker 3: But I'm like, I grew up in a trailer. Earthquake
- 30:37Speaker 3: was the least of our worries. There's nothing even really
- 30:40Speaker 3: to fall on you. But it's tornadoes. Tornadoes, even wind.
- 30:44Speaker 3: We grew up under pine trees.
- 30:45Speaker 2: We had an ice storm once that froze a tree limb,
- 30:49Speaker 2: and the tree limb fell, and it stabbed through the
- 30:52Speaker 2: roof of the trailer.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Oh, hell yeah.
- 30:54Speaker 2: And hit a shelf. My mom had a bunch of
- 30:56Speaker 2: ceramic owls on it, and they went everywhere. Yeah, it's heartbreaking.
- 31:01Speaker 1: That shit is heartbreaking.
- 31:03Speaker 3: But so all weather. And so, yeah, tornado. We had
- 31:06Speaker 3: tornadoes blow trees down on our trailer one time.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Oh, well, down in Alabama, I think. they have the
- 31:11Speaker 1: worst trees. If a strong storm tornado does show up.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:16Speaker 1: They literally have these tall ponds there. You can't really
- 31:20Speaker 1: do anything with them. They drop pine cones or someone's
- 31:22Speaker 1: fun around the holidays or whatever, but they're a million
- 31:25Speaker 1: feet tall and literally just waiting to fricking kill somebody.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Fell one fell across the trailer. Another one fell
- 31:31Speaker 3: on top of it.
- 31:32Speaker 1: It's almost like they're doing a game like that. Um,
- 31:34Speaker 1: like hands on the baseball bat. Like whoever gets to
- 31:36Speaker 1: the top, you know?
- 31:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 31:37Speaker 1: It's like the pot, they're just going to keep falling
- 31:40Speaker 1: until somebody. Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 2: And trailers are just right under. I mean, the tree
- 31:44Speaker 2: weighs more than the trailer does.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Oh, there's more wood in the tree.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Than there is in the trailer. Oh yeah. It's
- 31:51Speaker 3: like the tree is almost like here, use us. We're
- 31:55Speaker 3: right here. You're living in this aluminum. The tree's trying
- 31:59Speaker 3: to help. Oh, God, dude.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that kind of shit just fucking– I'm trying to
- 32:06Speaker 1: think of whatever else really got me.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Oh, dude.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Well, one time when it froze, when there was a
- 32:12Speaker 1: freezing in the south, it was a big thing.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Huge deal.
- 32:16Speaker 1: And one kid– I remember we had a basketball game,
- 32:19Speaker 1: and it was a freezing, and we were playing like
- 32:20Speaker 1: the rival town, and it froze, right? And it snowed
- 32:24Speaker 1: at halftime, and it hadn't snowed in our town in
- 32:26Speaker 1: probably 30 years or something.
- 32:28Speaker 3: And so people were.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Fucking going crazy and fucking– drinking Dr. Pepper really fast
- 32:33Speaker 1: and just fucking amped up, you know, and stealing gas
- 32:36Speaker 1: from each other, that kind of shit. People were excited.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And one kid, this kid Lucas, had went outside and
- 32:42Speaker 1: an icicle, I guess, had formed on a tree at
- 32:45Speaker 1: some point and had fallen and hit him right under
- 32:47Speaker 1: his fucking eye and messed his eye up really bad.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And his mom tried to, like, sue the city or
- 32:52Speaker 1: whatever and all kinds of shit. And she's like, I remember,
- 32:55Speaker 1: she's like, he was never the same. And I knew
- 32:58Speaker 1: that fucking kid for that. He was never the same
- 33:01Speaker 1: before it happened. You know what I'm saying?
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, the icicle didn't really mess up his path.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I think you didn't get a strong take on your
- 33:09Speaker 1: son before that icicle hit him. Right. Oh, it's easy
- 33:14Speaker 1: to show up once there's a weather lawsuit, you know?
- 33:17Speaker 2: Yeah, the city's like, well, show us some of his
- 33:19Speaker 2: accomplishments prior to this.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Yeah. yeah and he was just a downward stock out
- 33:25Speaker 1: of the gate i think you know i mean he
- 33:27Speaker 1: couldn't even fucking whistle i remember people like boo but
- 33:32Speaker 1: yeah there was something growing up like in like a
- 33:34Speaker 1: place that like i don't know shit like that was
- 33:36Speaker 1: just fun man.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Well yeah you just get you got some character there's
- 33:40Speaker 2: not a lot going on uh you know i mean you.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Know we you made the most of it.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Yeah i mean we were just hanging i mean talk
- 33:46Speaker 2: about pine cones it's like We love pine cones.
- 33:49Speaker 3: We used to throw them at each other.
- 33:50Speaker 2: You build fires out of the pine straw, burn pine cones,
- 33:54Speaker 2: get a fresh pine cone that's not spread out.
- 33:57Speaker 3: It's real hard.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 3: A lot of spikes on it.
- 33:59Speaker 1: A virgin one or underage when some guys call them.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Not like these old wore out, stretched out pine cones. Oh, yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Like a fresh green one. We'd throw rocks at each other.
- 34:11Speaker 3: We'd ride the bike. I remember there were these girls
- 34:14Speaker 3: riding bikes up and down, and we were throwing rocks
- 34:16Speaker 3: at them.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Fuck yeah.
- 34:17Speaker 3: And my buddy missed and hit me in the head.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 34:21Speaker 3: And I was bleeding. I started crying. There's no one
- 34:25Speaker 3: to sue.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Well, also, dude, that's another thing about being poor. Who
- 34:30Speaker 1: are you going to sue? The other person? Nobody has shit.
- 34:33Speaker 1: No attorney is going to support either one of you guys. Dude,
- 34:36Speaker 1: one time we're riding on the school bus, and this kid,
- 34:38Speaker 1: Jason— And he came from a pretty shirtless family. Somebody
- 34:43Speaker 1: got this shirt, but not everybody got it or whatever.
- 34:47Speaker 1: But he, on the bus that day, he found a
- 34:50Speaker 1: rock that was pretty good. And he's like, I'm throwing
- 34:52Speaker 1: this bitch today. He was just fired up or whatever
- 34:55Speaker 1: because I think his birthday was coming up. And he's like,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm throwing this motherfucker today. Somebody's going to get hit
- 35:00Speaker 1: by this bitch. And he kept showing it to me.
- 35:03Speaker 1: We kind of hung out in different little realms of school.
- 35:06Speaker 1: At our school, they had the hick tree, prep tree. um,
- 35:11Speaker 1: blacks kind of went out wherever they wanted kind of, um,
- 35:15Speaker 1: and then Hick tree prep tree. And one other thing,
- 35:17Speaker 1: I think it was just like people that listen to
- 35:19Speaker 1: sound garden or whatever, you know?
- 35:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Like a, yeah. Like a grunge.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Like a grunge thing. And so anyway, he was over
- 35:28Speaker 1: by the Hick tree and he's like, and I would
- 35:30Speaker 1: hang out over by the prep tree. I just had
- 35:31Speaker 1: more friends over there. And at one point, uh, He
- 35:36Speaker 1: had his Rockies all ready. I forgot about it. So
- 35:38Speaker 1: at recess that day, I'm fucking hanging out over there.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Fucking Rock comes, hits me right.
- 35:43Speaker 3: In the fucking head. Of all the people, he didn't
- 35:45Speaker 3: even aim at him.
- 35:46Speaker 1: He just hummed that bitch. Fucking took me right out.
- 35:50Speaker 3: You were hanging out under the wrong tree that night.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but still. I'm like, dude, just fucking, I'm the
- 35:56Speaker 1: only guy you know over there.
- 35:58Speaker 3: And he probably was just throwing at the prep tree.
- 36:00Speaker 1: 100%.
- 36:00Speaker 3: He's just like, I want to hit somebody under the
- 36:03Speaker 3: prep tree. They think they're better than me. Totally.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I want to hit people under the prep tree. That's
- 36:08Speaker 2: my attitude. That would have been my, I didn't throw
- 36:11Speaker 2: the rock, but yeah. You know, my mindset was I'd
- 36:13Speaker 2: like to throw a rock over there.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody's going to feel a little bit of my
- 36:16Speaker 1: pain today, dude.
- 36:17Speaker 3: And I had friends over there, too.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 3: I had friends in the Hick Tree, the Prep Tree,
- 36:22Speaker 3: the Black Tree. I had friends under all of them.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:24Speaker 3: You know? God, dude.
- 36:26Speaker 1: And I might have even been over there just bumming
- 36:27Speaker 1: money off.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Of some kids. Even the Laotian Tree. Yeah. They were
- 36:30Speaker 3: all my friends.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Oh, dude, I met some good Laotians. You know who's Laotian?
- 36:35Speaker 1: There's a comedian named Lucas Seeley.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know Lucas.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Lucas Seeley. He lives in Montana now, I believe. He
- 36:43Speaker 1: took me up there. They had a Montana comedy festival.
- 36:46Speaker 1: We had a good time up there.
- 36:47Speaker 3: But he's Laotian.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I met some decent Laotians over the years, and I'd
- 36:51Speaker 1: love to meet more of them, to be honest with you.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Well, Opelika's the spot. I think that's the Laotian of Alabama.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Yeah? Laos of Alabama. I guess Laotian's not the country. Yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Oh, there you go right there is Lucas. I believe
- 37:05Speaker 1: he is Laotian. He runs a, yeah, a lot of
- 37:08Speaker 1: good food there. His family has a... Egg roll truck.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Wet heat, man. That's what you're calling the special.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Yeah, wet heat.
- 37:19Speaker 2: And I like the name because you don't know what
- 37:23Speaker 2: the name might mean, right?
- 37:24Speaker 3: You don't know. It could be, hey, we're doing a
- 37:28Speaker 3: 90s sitcom. There's a little murder, a little sex. You
- 37:31Speaker 3: don't know.
- 37:31Speaker 2: It could be a buddy cop film that takes place
- 37:34Speaker 2: in Miami. But it's a weather joke. Wet heat, humidity.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I go out to Phoenix, you know, and they're always like, oh.
- 37:42Speaker 2: I'll go, it's real hot out here. And they go, yeah,
- 37:44Speaker 2: but it's a dry heat.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 2: And like their heat is better than my heat, right?
- 37:49Speaker 2: And I get defensive and I go, yeah, but I
- 37:51Speaker 2: like a wet heat. So that's what I tell them.
- 37:53Speaker 3: I like a wet heat. So that's why it's called that.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I like it.
- 37:58Speaker 2: It's a great special. Like I had another one called
- 38:00Speaker 2: Working Man that's on Netflix now.
- 38:02Speaker 3: It's very good. I think wet heat's better.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I like that.
- 38:05Speaker 2: I'm very pumped about it. I'm all about a full spectrum.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I got a lot of callbacks. You know, I got
- 38:10Speaker 2: a lot of things that, a couple of themes that
- 38:13Speaker 2: come around a couple of times. And I like that.
- 38:16Speaker 2: It's like a, you know, it's like a Pink Floyd album.
- 38:18Speaker 2: The whole thing matters.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched about 15 minutes of it. And I
- 38:22Speaker 1: enjoyed it, man. I like how I kind of get in.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And then there's some spots where I'm really just surprised. Like,
- 38:28Speaker 1: I knew, you always know you're going to laugh most
- 38:30Speaker 1: of the time. But there's some spots where I really
- 38:32Speaker 1: just found myself just like....
- 38:36Speaker 3: Surprise.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I can't tell if it was the delivery. I don't
- 38:39Speaker 1: know what it is, but just really enjoying it, man.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate that. And you know, it's about 70 minutes.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So if you watch it 15 minutes at a time,
- 38:47Speaker 2: you got, you got about, I don't know, I'm not
- 38:50Speaker 2: good at math, but maybe about four more settings, you know?
- 38:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I can invite friends over and have it
- 38:56Speaker 1: in installments.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Come over, watch another 15 minutes of the special.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I was trying to think because I don't
- 39:03Speaker 1: know if I'm at the part. Oh, I am at
- 39:05Speaker 1: a part where there's a lot of urine in it
- 39:06Speaker 1: and talking about peeing and growing up and how many
- 39:09Speaker 1: times men pee or don't pee.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I got a lot of bodily functions
- 39:14Speaker 2: in there, probably more so than any special I put out.
- 39:16Speaker 2: But I like, you know, I just pee a lot.
- 39:18Speaker 2: I drink a lot of water and I'm out here peeing.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's a wet heat.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it is a wet heat.
- 39:24Speaker 1: How do you?
- 39:25Speaker 3: Pee is a wet heat.
- 39:26Speaker 1: It's the ultimate wet heat.
- 39:28Speaker 3: That's something. I missed. That's a theme I missed.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Well, I won't even wear, I noticed at night, honestly, Dusty,
- 39:35Speaker 1: I won't even wear those tight underpants anymore because I don't,
- 39:40Speaker 1: it pushes on my bladder.
- 39:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't like that.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I need to think about this because I've been buying
- 39:44Speaker 1: these kind of semi-tight undies or whatever and it kind of,
- 39:48Speaker 1: You know, it's tight. The band up here is tight.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:51Speaker 1: And so then my bladder didn't even get to fully
- 39:53Speaker 1: expand and hold a normal amount.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 39:56Speaker 1: And so like twice a night I have to get
- 39:59Speaker 1: up extra just because I've chosen tight undies.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you got to just get loose with it. Just
- 40:03Speaker 3: let it free, you know.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I want to almost make a good cotton undie because
- 40:08Speaker 1: they say a lot of those polyamorous or polymethylene underpants
- 40:11Speaker 1: or whatever. The plastic's getting in people's nuts and everything.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I'm all about 100% cotton. I wear 100% cotton underwear.
- 40:18Speaker 2: These socks are not.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Jeans are. Shirt is. 100% cotton. God. I'm all about it.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I like linen, wool, cotton. That's where I'm at these days.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Really?
- 40:27Speaker 3: Not together. All on their own. Oh, yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I don't mix meats. You know what I'm saying?
- 40:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't want to blend it. That's crazy. Yeah.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:35Speaker 2: That's where it's at, though. And I think I got
- 40:38Speaker 2: like a pee paranoia almost.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Yeah. If I'm getting on the plane, I'm like, I
- 40:43Speaker 3: got to go pee because if I get on the
- 40:44Speaker 3: plane and then we sit there for a while, I
- 40:47Speaker 3: won't have, you know, because if you board early, you
- 40:50Speaker 3: sit down.
- 40:51Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 40:51Speaker 2: And then by the time everybody else is boarded and
- 40:54Speaker 2: then you take off, it's like, it's a long time to.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Get to pee.
- 40:57Speaker 1: There's no way to win that exactly.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 2: And then some flight attendant goes in the bathroom and
- 41:03Speaker 2: they're in there all day.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I'm like, what are you doing in there?
- 41:06Speaker 1: Sudoku.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:07Speaker 1: We know it.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:08Speaker 1: So we know it.
- 41:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 1: But yet I, it's like, there is no way to
- 41:15Speaker 1: leverage that perfectly where you, cause if you get on early,
- 41:20Speaker 1: then you have to wait all that time before you
- 41:21Speaker 1: even leave. Whereas if you wait and pee and get
- 41:23Speaker 1: on last, that's kind of nice. But then you have
- 41:26Speaker 1: to wait all that whole time in that line. Yeah.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I feel like sometimes I feel like I go now
- 41:30Speaker 2: I want to board at the end. I'm just going
- 41:32Speaker 2: to chill, but I can't, I can't chill. I'm like, nah,
- 41:35Speaker 2: I got to get on right now.
- 41:36Speaker 3: I got to get on. Let's go ahead and get on.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Yeah. There's a lot of, I don't want to call
- 41:40Speaker 2: it anxiety because I'm not anxious about it, but I'm like, nah,
- 41:44Speaker 2: I could get on right now.
- 41:45Speaker 3: I'm going to go ahead and do it.
- 41:46Speaker 1: And then I'm on.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Because anything out there, you see the gate agent, you
- 41:50Speaker 1: see them, the gate agent, they're basically the St. Peter
- 41:56Speaker 1: with a lot of times mental conditions, right? They don't fucking,
- 42:00Speaker 1: they'll be like the gates closed, gates not closed. They'll
- 42:02Speaker 1: be like, we're full, not, you know what I'm saying?
- 42:04Speaker 1: You don't know how they're going to be feeling.
- 42:07Speaker 2: And they don't get treated well by people. I realize that,
- 42:10Speaker 2: but it must be a hard life. They don't seem happy.
- 42:14Speaker 3: No.
- 42:14Speaker 2: And then every time you go talk to them, they
- 42:17Speaker 2: just do like this. They just do like this. They're
- 42:19Speaker 2: just typing away.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Like that cat meme?
- 42:21Speaker 3: Yeah. They're just typing away, and it's like, what are
- 42:24Speaker 3: you typing? What are you typing back there?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Oh, they're probably just typing down the F word over
- 42:30Speaker 1: and over again.
- 42:30Speaker 3: That's what I'd be doing, you know?
- 42:34Speaker 1: I think anyway.
- 42:36Speaker 3: I'm going to ask to see the screen.
- 42:43Speaker 1: What else? Oh, you sold pesticides. Is that true?
- 42:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I sold pesticides. I sold to Lowe's and Home Depot.
- 42:50Speaker 2: That's what I did for years. I lived in Charleston,
- 42:52Speaker 2: South Carolina.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Did you really, dude? I used to live on King Street.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Oh, you lived on King Street?
- 42:55Speaker 1: I used to live above the Bebe store for probably
- 42:57Speaker 1: about eight months.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Oh, amazing. I lived on Burns Alley, which is right
- 43:02Speaker 3: off King.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Was it over there by Kickin' Chicken or something?
- 43:06Speaker 3: Yeah, really close to Kickin' Chicken.
- 43:07Speaker 1: God, it was so good.
- 43:08Speaker 3: I used to tear the Kickin' Chicken up.
- 43:10Speaker 1: If it was good, God.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Oh, hell yeah, dude.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I lived in Charleston for 10 years from 2003
- 43:18Speaker 2: to 2014.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Great place.
- 43:20Speaker 3: I loved it. So that's where I started comedy and
- 43:24Speaker 3: I waited tables.
- 43:26Speaker 1: That's Kickin' Chicken right there.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:28Speaker 1: But it used to be different. That must be another location.
- 43:31Speaker 1: They had a downtown, like.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Just a little- I think downtown's gone now. The downtown
- 43:34Speaker 3: cake and chicken's gone.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been a while. Yeah. They had a little alley.
- 43:37Speaker 1: And then they had Harris Teeter over there.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Was that there? Harris Teeter, yeah.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Yeah. They had that joint. And then I worked at
- 43:43Speaker 1: a bar called O'Brien. I think it was called O'Brien's.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I think I remember an O'Brien's.
- 43:48Speaker 1: It was an Irish bar.
- 43:49Speaker 3: On King Street. Yeah. Yeah, I think I remember that.
- 43:51Speaker 1: And they had a band that played in there like
- 43:52Speaker 1: once a week. It was a cover band. And I
- 43:54Speaker 1: would go listen to them.
- 43:55Speaker 2: What was the cover band? Um, J- I feel like
- 43:59Speaker 2: there was like a Molly Jane's or a Jane's. Ah,
- 44:03Speaker 2: there was something like that. They were there forever.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Dude, I've tried to remember the name of that cover
- 44:09Speaker 1: band for the past five years, and I can't remember.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Ah, yeah, they were there forever. I remember hearing them
- 44:15Speaker 2: when I first moved there. Everybody was advertising them, and
- 44:17Speaker 2: then they were still going.
- 44:19Speaker 1: And they would play Climb to Safety while widespread panic,
- 44:21Speaker 1: and I would. They played a lot of songs that
- 44:23Speaker 1: everybody knew, like sing-alongs.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 1: But they also played Climb to Safety while widespread panic,
- 44:27Speaker 1: and I would. loved it and one time they let
- 44:30Speaker 1: me get up there and ring like a ring a
- 44:32Speaker 1: little bell or something oh.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah i mean like pre-internet charleston was like i
- 44:39Speaker 3: don't know it was just great it was like this
- 44:40Speaker 3: nice little hidden city i lived on folly beach for.
- 44:43Speaker 1: A while dude folly beach people would surf out there
- 44:46Speaker 1: yeah people would get surf angry out there and she's
- 44:48Speaker 1: like you dropped in on my wave and she'd be
- 44:49Speaker 1: like dude what are you i know What is anybody
- 44:53Speaker 1: talking about here?
- 44:54Speaker 3: I know, I know, I know. We were just supposed
- 44:56Speaker 3: to be, yeah, I used to hang out on the beach.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I used to drink all the time on the beach.
- 44:59Speaker 3: It was great. They had a place called the Sand Dollar,
- 45:01Speaker 3: which I had to get a membership.
- 45:03Speaker 1: They had a place called the Silver Dollar Bar, which
- 45:05Speaker 1: was over off on across, that was kind of downtown,
- 45:08Speaker 1: but across.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I got beat up outside the Silver Dollar
- 45:11Speaker 3: one time, I think.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I almost did.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 1: So.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was the Silver Dollar, yeah.
- 45:16Speaker 1: And Portside, they had a place over there called Portside
- 45:19Speaker 1: Silver Dollar. Yeah. Yeah, there it is, Silver Dollar.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:22Speaker 1: But there's always people doing blow over there.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Thankfully.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, that's, yeah, a lot of that going on
- 45:29Speaker 3: in Charleston.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Dude, I was there during 9-11. I went up there. Actually,
- 45:33Speaker 1: I hitchhiked up there to meet. There was a girl
- 45:35Speaker 1: that I was in love with that moved away, and
- 45:36Speaker 1: she didn't want me to be around her, and she
- 45:38Speaker 1: was right. You know, it was getting. You hitchhiked to
- 45:40Speaker 1: see her.
- 45:41Speaker 3: That's. That's bad.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:42Speaker 3: That's bad.
- 45:46Speaker 1: When you're willing to. This is before Uber.
- 45:48Speaker 3: This is when.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:49Speaker 3: How'd you get here? I just rode with some strangers.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Anything it took.
- 45:54Speaker 1: And it was like, it was 12 hours down from Louisiana,
- 45:57Speaker 1: but I got up there and yeah, it wasn't good.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I remember I was on her porch one night and
- 46:03Speaker 1: I was like, this has got to stop, you know?
- 46:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 1: And that's when I shut it down and got my
- 46:07Speaker 1: act together.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Took some of the wood from the porch on the
- 46:09Speaker 3: way out. I'm trying to rebuild something.
- 46:12Speaker 1: At home here. What am I going to make a
- 46:14Speaker 1: shrine out of? Yeah. Obviously, her porch wood is the
- 46:18Speaker 1: best thing to make it out of. But, yeah, thankfully,
- 46:21Speaker 1: nobody caught me over there. And I just remember I
- 46:23Speaker 1: was on that porch petting a cat that wasn't mine.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I don't know if it was hers. And I was like, God,
- 46:28Speaker 1: I am emotionally– I've got some emotional issues, you know?
- 46:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:34Speaker 1: And then 9-11 happened when I was there. That was
- 46:36Speaker 1: kind of wild. But, yeah, I love Charleston, man. Great place.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's awesome.
- 46:41Speaker 2: My friend said you gave a speech at his school
- 46:43Speaker 2: in Louisiana. Metairie, I think, is where he grew up.
- 46:47Speaker 2: I forget the school. He told me.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I believe you.
- 46:49Speaker 3: It's a boys' school.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I can't even remember. Oh, it was a boys' school?
- 46:51Speaker 3: Yeah. He said, yeah.
- 46:53Speaker 1: It was Rummel or something?
- 46:55Speaker 3: I think so. Maybe so.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Oh, my God, dude. That just came back to me. Oh,
- 47:01Speaker 1: it might have been when I was just in student council,
- 47:03Speaker 1: but maybe not. I don't know. Dude, I fucking forgot
- 47:06Speaker 1: about that. That's crazy. It's weird how life will go
- 47:09Speaker 1: on and you just remember things that happened.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I mean, like, yeah, the brain is super weird. Like
- 47:15Speaker 2: you can just– it feels like channels just open up
- 47:18Speaker 2: and you go, oh, whoa, here's a bunch of memories
- 47:21Speaker 2: locked in here.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Do you think our brain– that all of our memories
- 47:24Speaker 1: are available in our brain?
- 47:26Speaker 3: I think so.
- 47:27Speaker 2: But maybe our brain remembers them differently because people will
- 47:31Speaker 2: tell stories about me and I go– That's definitely not
- 47:35Speaker 2: how it happened.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:37Speaker 2: But am I remembering it wrong or are they remembering
- 47:40Speaker 2: it wrong? I got punched in the face by a
- 47:44Speaker 2: female firefighter one time.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:46Speaker 2: And this guy, my buddy, he tells the story all
- 47:49Speaker 2: the time and he always tells what I said. And
- 47:52Speaker 2: I just know that I didn't say that. But I
- 47:55Speaker 2: was drunk enough to get punched in the face. So
- 47:59Speaker 2: maybe I don't remember.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Right, and then at that point, if you know you
- 48:03Speaker 1: were drunk enough, it's like, well, do I want to
- 48:04Speaker 1: disrespect this story by just trying to put maybe my
- 48:07Speaker 1: current ego in it, even though I, but if I
- 48:10Speaker 1: was drunk, I was out of control, could that have happened,
- 48:13Speaker 1: you know?
- 48:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:14Speaker 1: And then it's, what I realized from growing up, a
- 48:17Speaker 1: lot of my friends, I'll tell stories from growing up,
- 48:18Speaker 1: my friends are like, dude, I don't even remember that.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I'm like, you don't fucking remember that? I'm like, dude,
- 48:22Speaker 1: that's like the only thing that, like, that year, that
- 48:25Speaker 1: was the only thing that happened. You don't remember?
- 48:27Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 1: I'm just amazed that some people don't remember things.
- 48:31Speaker 2: I think sometimes with us as comedians, like we're spending
- 48:34Speaker 2: time thinking about stuff to write jokes about it, that
- 48:37Speaker 2: we can recall all these things. But like people that
- 48:41Speaker 2: aren't trying to think about it, they're like, oh, I
- 48:43Speaker 2: can't believe you remember that.
- 48:44Speaker 3: And I go, this is all I do is sit
- 48:46Speaker 3: around and think about this stuff.
- 48:47Speaker 1: That's a good point. And even if it's not me
- 48:50Speaker 1: actively doing it, there's a part of my brain that
- 48:53Speaker 1: I think is obsessed with being young and growing up
- 48:56Speaker 1: and like wants to have all of that as much
- 48:58Speaker 1: as I can. Here it says right here. Is this perplexity, man?
- 49:02Speaker 1: We started using this perplexity. Have you heard of this?
- 49:04Speaker 3: No.
- 49:05Speaker 1: It's an AI. The brain holds and organizes all the
- 49:09Speaker 1: memories we are able to form and retain, but it
- 49:12Speaker 1: is not a flawless or complete archive of everything we've
- 49:15Speaker 1: ever experienced. Memories can be changed, lost, or difficult to recall.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Not everything is stored perfectly. That's interesting.
- 49:10Speaker 3: I know.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I wonder if I should get someone to come on
- 49:13Speaker 1: sometime who knows really the deepness of this. Yeah, and
- 49:15Speaker 1: how could you open it up? They used to say
- 49:17Speaker 1: acid would open different parts to your brain.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Yeah. That's what they always said. That's why we like
- 49:35Speaker 2: to take it. We would– because we didn't think we
- 49:37Speaker 2: were partying.
- 49:38Speaker 1: No.
- 49:38Speaker 3: We were like we're doing an experiment. Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 1: We're hiding in an above ground pool for four hours
- 49:46Speaker 1: laughing at we don't know what, but this is all
- 49:48Speaker 1: under the guise of science.
- 49:52Speaker 3: Yeah. We're opening– we're expanding our minds here.
- 49:55Speaker 2: We want to– I want to listen to this Pink
- 49:57Speaker 2: Floyd album and understand what he means.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Oh, dude, I remember my friend, we did some LSD
- 50:06Speaker 1: or something, mushrooms, I don't remember. And he had a
- 50:11Speaker 1: flashback of an Asian kid that had allegedly lived in
- 50:14Speaker 1: our town or something. And he got so scared. And
- 50:16Speaker 1: then he went and he locked himself in a closet
- 50:18Speaker 1: for like five or six hours. And we're like, fuck, dude.
- 50:23Speaker 3: On acid? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 50:26Speaker 1: And he had anxiety ever since then. That was a
- 50:29Speaker 1: lot for him.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I don't understand how locking yourself in a closet would
- 50:33Speaker 2: make yourself feel better.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Yeah. He needed some better, a better, but I don't know.
- 50:38Speaker 3: What do you do? You know?
- 50:39Speaker 1: Yeah. And if I knocked on the door, he got
- 50:42Speaker 1: very racial and very like, I don't want to say
- 50:45Speaker 1: anti-Asian or whatever. He just was going through a lot.
- 50:47Speaker 1: And I was like, I'm not going to fucking bother.
- 50:49Speaker 1: What am I going to do?
- 50:49Speaker 3: We're having a good time. Yeah. What am I going
- 50:51Speaker 3: to do?
- 50:52Speaker 1: Get a fucking one of those like straw hats and
- 50:54Speaker 1: like a fish basket and fucking just go in there
- 50:56Speaker 1: and rattle his cage. Hell no. I'm going to support
- 51:01Speaker 1: my buddy. And that night we're at my buddy, we're
- 51:03Speaker 1: at another dude's house. And I was like, I'm getting
- 51:06Speaker 1: out of here. And he's like, you shouldn't leave. Do
- 51:07Speaker 1: you fucking took all your clothes off in the backyard?
- 51:10Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, well, fuck you guys. I'm
- 51:12Speaker 1: not being caged up by this fucking white hate or whatever.
- 51:14Speaker 1: You know, I just, I'd get out there. I go
- 51:17Speaker 1: get in my car as a 1984 Ford Escort. And
- 51:20Speaker 1: thankfully I accidentally got in the back, right? I kind
- 51:24Speaker 1: of stumbled trying to get out of the door, push
- 51:25Speaker 1: the seat, went forward, honk the horn, the front horn.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Because I was in the back seat, the seat moved
- 51:32Speaker 1: forward and honked the front horn. And his mom came
- 51:35Speaker 1: out and thankfully shut it down because I could have
- 51:38Speaker 1: fucking driven off.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:40Speaker 1: You know? Drugs can get scary, man. Drugs and driver's licenses.
- 51:44Speaker 3: I've driven on acid many times. Really? Yeah. And it's
- 51:48Speaker 3: a blast. I mean, it's a disaster. It shouldn't happen.
- 51:52Speaker 2: But that's another thing. Small towns, you know, you're out
- 51:55Speaker 2: late enough. Nobody else is out there. No.
- 51:57Speaker 3: What's the danger, really? Oh, yeah.
- 52:00Speaker 1: The birds are gone. The dogs even shut down. Everybody.
- 52:03Speaker 3: Yeah we would drive around me and my buddy we
- 52:04Speaker 3: drove around we were like so out of our minds
- 52:06Speaker 3: i was like biting the steering wheel while i was
- 52:08Speaker 3: driving oh dude.
- 52:14Speaker 1: I remember one time we drove pat we just taken
- 52:17Speaker 1: this lsd and we drove past uh a cop and
- 52:20Speaker 1: he stopped us dude and he's like what the fuck
- 52:24Speaker 1: y'all doing blah blah blah and we caused trouble in
- 52:26Speaker 1: town or before and he's just like uh I don't
- 52:30Speaker 1: remember what his reason was, but he's like, I don't want,
- 52:32Speaker 1: I don't want to see you. I don't want to
- 52:33Speaker 1: see you guys out again tonight. And we're like, yes, sir.
- 52:35Speaker 1: No problem. Not a problem. No, definitely not. Yes, sir.
- 52:39Speaker 3: No, sir. Right. We covered every base. Dude, fast forward
- 52:45Speaker 3: five hours.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Later, we are just gleaming on this LSD.
- 52:50Speaker 3: We are fucking, you know what I'm saying?
- 52:52Speaker 1: Like, I'm like kind of fucking being like, oh, you're
- 52:55Speaker 1: saying shit like, oh, I think there's way too many
- 52:57Speaker 1: teeth in my mouth.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Like, oh, yeah, we're not doing good. And we realize
- 53:02Speaker 1: we are coming up on the same street exactly where
- 53:04Speaker 1: that cop is parked. And he's fucking parked there again.
- 53:07Speaker 1: And we're like, motherfucker, we promised this dude we would not.
- 53:12Speaker 1: And we're fucked up. We are. This is not going
- 53:15Speaker 1: to do this. Not going to end well. And we
- 53:18Speaker 1: thought if we go, this is our idea.
- 53:22Speaker 3: If we go.
- 53:23Speaker 1: As slow as possible, he won't see us, right?
- 53:29Speaker 3: He's sneaking by. Yes, yes. Yeah.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Dude, yes, if we go fast, that's how they catch everybody, speeding.
- 53:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:35Speaker 1: We go as slow as fucking possible, dude.
- 53:38Speaker 3: All looking.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Probably caught us so fast, dude. Put us all in
- 53:47Speaker 1: for the night.
- 53:47Speaker 3: You're like, hey, we're trying to get home. You told
- 53:50Speaker 3: us to get home. We're just looking for it, man.

- 56:18Speaker 1: That's betterhelp.com slash Theo. Did you ever run any issues
- 56:25Speaker 1: with the pesticide? You run any good tales from the.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Well, you know, I did that for like nine years
- 56:31Speaker 2: and I'm just like, I got one joke out of it. And,
- 56:34Speaker 2: you know, I used to, you know, there was four companies.
- 56:36Speaker 2: We sold to Lowe's and Home Depot, those four companies.
- 56:40Speaker 2: I dated a girl that was on the competition for
- 56:43Speaker 2: a while. I'm pretty sure she had a boyfriend and
- 56:47Speaker 2: she was dating me at work.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that.
- 56:50Speaker 2: So we would just, you know, like you had to
- 56:53Speaker 2: go to the store and you'd have to call into
- 56:56Speaker 2: the office from the store phone. And then so I
- 56:59Speaker 2: would go in and I would call us both in
- 57:02Speaker 2: and then we would go drink for a while. And
- 57:05Speaker 2: then we would go back to the store and she
- 57:08Speaker 2: would call us both out. That way the store didn't
- 57:10Speaker 2: see us coming and going. So we had, I mean,
- 57:14Speaker 2: we had a wild summer. I had not all the
- 57:17Speaker 2: same territory that she had. So some days I had
- 57:19Speaker 2: to work. But on those days, it was great. I mean,
- 57:23Speaker 2: we would just party, me and her. And she was like,
- 57:26Speaker 2: she was real hot. And it was like, even the
- 57:28Speaker 2: other pesticide reps were like, she's dating you?
- 57:31Speaker 3: Yeah. And I'm like, I guess so, guys. I guess
- 57:34Speaker 3: things are turning around.
- 57:36Speaker 1: You just take a hit off that side, baby. Off
- 57:40Speaker 1: that peace side.
- 57:42Speaker 3: That's all right.
- 57:43Speaker 2: You know, and it felt good. And, you know, I
- 57:46Speaker 2: should have been fired. I had, but, you know, I was,
- 57:48Speaker 2: my sales numbers were good.
- 57:50Speaker 3: I looked good.
- 57:51Speaker 1: I mean, sometimes it's just, who do we want pulling
- 57:54Speaker 1: up to the door to sell pesticide? Who are people
- 57:56Speaker 1: going to believe when they open the door and they.
- 57:59Speaker 2: See Well, I'm just selling to the stores, right? So
- 58:02Speaker 2: I don't have to go door to door. But I
- 58:05Speaker 2: looked all right. You know, I probably was a little heavy.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I've been drinking a lot. I was probably, I was
- 58:10Speaker 2: drinking all the time. So, you know, a lot of
- 58:12Speaker 2: times I'd pull up to the store, clock in, go
- 58:15Speaker 2: sit in the car, smoke cigarettes, go to sleep, you know.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Yeah, work.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Right, right. Yeah, because it's like- Yeah, dude, look. Don't
- 58:22Speaker 3: act like I haven't had a job.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:24Speaker 2: And my boss was like, you got to be there
- 58:26Speaker 2: at a certain time. And I was like, it doesn't
- 58:27Speaker 2: matter because- The stores have no idea if this is
- 58:31Speaker 2: my first store of the day or my second store.
- 58:33Speaker 2: He's like, no, you got to be there. And I'm like, well,
- 58:35Speaker 2: if I got to be there, this is how I'll
- 58:36Speaker 2: handle it. I'll clock in and then I'll go, you know,
- 58:39Speaker 2: eat a bagel in the car and smoke cigarettes or dip.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I mean, you got to find ways to
- 58:48Speaker 1: kill time.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, I'm the king of killing time. Oh,
- 58:51Speaker 3: that's got to be your next special. Yeah.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I mean, I can sit in a car all day.
- 58:57Speaker 2: It doesn't make any difference to me. You give me
- 58:59Speaker 2: the radio, some nicotine, I'm there all day.
- 59:02Speaker 1: Yeah, God, I love that shit, dude. I used to
- 59:04Speaker 1: love fucking sitting in a car. I remember I'd fucking
- 59:07Speaker 1: sit in there. Like a lot of times my dad
- 59:09Speaker 1: would go, do something. I don't know what he was doing,
- 59:11Speaker 1: but he, cause he didn't have a job or anything,
- 59:12Speaker 1: but he would leave me in the car and I
- 59:15Speaker 1: would put, try to put all the seatbelts on. I'd
- 59:17Speaker 1: like try to sit in the middle and put all
- 59:20Speaker 1: fucking five seatbelts on.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Just do cool shit like that.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Yeah, nothing like being left in the car as a
- 59:26Speaker 3: kid back then. Oh. With no, yeah, I mean, there
- 59:29Speaker 3: was no.
- 59:29Speaker 1: The cigarette lighter thing?
- 59:31Speaker 3: Yeah. I had a cigarette. I had a Bronco.
- 59:33Speaker 2: The cigarette lighter would, like, if you didn't have your
- 59:36Speaker 2: hand up there, it's so spring loaded, it would pop
- 59:38Speaker 2: out onto the floor.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it had some power to it.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Oh, you don't wear sandals around this motherfucker. Oh, yeah.
- 59:45Speaker 3: No, no.
- 59:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:47Speaker 3: I loved it. Yeah, I loved that.
- 59:48Speaker 2: The way the cigarettes were built, you know, you smoke
- 59:50Speaker 2: the cigarette and they just hold that thing right up
- 59:52Speaker 2: there to it.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Thing felt real. Yeah.
- 59:55Speaker 2: I had an ashtray in there with ashes in it.
- 59:57Speaker 2: I mean, it wasn't coins in there.
- 59:58Speaker 3: I was using that.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Oh, that was so nice to win that cigarette. Cause
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: when you were a kid, if your grandparents, your parents
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: left you in the car, you could push a cigarette
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: lighter in and you knew it was going to get hot.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: You were not allowed around hot stuff. You weren't allowed
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: to have hot stuff, but that thing, you figured out
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: how to work it. And then you take it out
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: and you're like, I wonder if it's hot. And It
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: would be, it was the hottest thing they had.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: And then you're lighting paper on fire. You're putting paper in,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: but your grandma's like, where's all the receipts?
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Yeah. And.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Where's my bookkeeping? Where's my missing posters for your stepfather?
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I don't know. God, that was fun, dude. My buddy's dad,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: my friend, Bubby Jenkins, his dad would, uh, I'd miss
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: the bus or just say fuck it or whatever because
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I didn't really love the government or whatever. But his
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: dad would give me a ride to school and his
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: dad would do my spelling words and blow cigarette smoke
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: in my face to fucking make it harder for me
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: to fucking memorize them to challenge me. Dude, he'd rip
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: two or three darts on the way there.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: You got to love that kind of help.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: You're like, I really appreciate that, you know, because then
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: you're good under pressure.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: Like I learned to drive a stick shift with my
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: dad yelling at me.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Like yelling at me about not knowing how to work
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: a clutch that I've just tried for the first time today.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: And so you're like, now I'm good. I can drive
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: a stick shift for the rest of my life.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Especially when your sexuality is under threat when
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: it came to anything back then. It was like, you
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: don't know how to do this shit, damn it.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like this is my first time and he's
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: like yelling at me and we're on a back road.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: There's not traffic behind us.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Everything was a Vietnam back then at times, man. And
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: also the pressure just growing up. Everything felt intense, you know,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: learning things and want to get them right and be
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: cool and know the cool stuff.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, my dad knows how to do a
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: lot of things, but is not a teacher.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Right. So, like, you, like, think you're doing it right,
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: and you're like, there's a lot of pressure to be
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: doing it right. Yeah. But it's never right. Yeah.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: He's going to tell you how to do it. Even
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: if he told you how to do it and you
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: did it that way, he's going to be like, nah,
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: like this.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm like, no, this is the way you told me, though. Yeah,
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: but do it like this.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Yeah, we're not doing it like that. I don't know
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: where you learned that shit.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't do it like that anymore, I'll tell
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: you that.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, dude. Yeah, I mean, I would tell you
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: a story about my dad teaching me something, but he
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: didn't teach me shit, dude. And then, but he would,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: once I was tall enough, would expect me to be
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: able to drive in places, right? Because, yeah, I mean,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: my dad was just so old, and one day he's like,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I think you can do it. And I was like, what?
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: And he's like, I think you can drive me to Slidell.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know. You know, and.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: How far would that be for you?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Probably 17 miles, right?
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I was like, I could... I don't know, but you
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: want to do it.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: You want to support your dad or whatever. And I
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: did it, man. We fucking got out there on the interstate.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: And why would he need you to drive?
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: He was so old he couldn't see that good.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: But we had to get there. And so it was like,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: you know, what are you going to do?
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Because he used to do those credit card signups at colleges.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: He'd get people to sign up for credit cards. And
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: he'd get me out there on the table to call
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: them over and whatever, you know, and, you know, make
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: promises to them or something. And so we'd drive over
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: to like Southeastern Louisiana University or Delgado or some school somewhere.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: And we'd pull all this shit out. And he's giving
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: out free candies or whatever, whistles or something, you know.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Or it would be like a whistle that yells a
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: slur or something if you hit the right octave on
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: it or Frisbees, you know. Shit like that.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: So he got money for signing people up for credit cards?
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: If people signed up, I think he got like $ 1.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: 50.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Wow. But I think it had to be approved and shit.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: But I'd sit there and fill a couple extra out
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: while I was there. Yeah. We're killing time. He had
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: no idea what was going on. He'd be fucking asleep, awake.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: He'd go to get a sandwich, fucking fall asleep over there.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: It was like a huge game of hide.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: And go seek.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: And that's why you'd need to get to slide out. Yeah,
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: for sure. So you're driving, you're working it. This is
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: learning things.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: He may not be teaching it, but you're learning things.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that was it, man.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: You're learning to hustle. Yeah, it was the hustle, dude.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: It was fun, though. Yeah, any other blue-collar kind of
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: jobs that you had?
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: Well, you know, I did restaurants mostly. I worked at
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: a restaurant called Hyman's in Charleston. I don't know if
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: you ever went there. It would have been around. It
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: was nice. It was nice. It's a tourist spot, but
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: it's good food.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Bring it up. I mean, it's... I think I went
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: there not long ago.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: It's a hot spot.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: They have a lot of pictures on the wall of
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: famous people that have been there over the years.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: And I finally.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: have my picture on the wall. I'm finally on the wall.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: I was like, that's what I'm talking about.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Let's go, Hyman's, baby.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and Hyman's is great.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: There were so many employees at Hyman's that I run
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: into people still all over the country that I used
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: to work with.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Why was there so many?
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: It took up three addresses on the street, and then
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: it was a second floor, first floor and second floor restaurant.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Yeah, actually it took up, It was like from 213
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: to 221, that many addresses on the block.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: It was great.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: We should go to do a show there sometime, man.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: We should. I mean, Charleston is the best.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: That would be cool. I started this, the tour my
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: now started in Charleston. And so.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: What did you do?
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I don't even remember.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: It's probably North Charleston Performing Arts Center.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: On campus.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: Oh, the Gillyard?
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Very nice.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Very nice.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: I just did the Gale yard too.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Very nice. I watched the Gale yard be built. So
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I was like very happy to do that. I mean,
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: because a lot of people that I, that's where I
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: started comedy. So a lot of people I started comedy
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: with and people that knew me around that time all
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: got to come there and see me.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Dude, that's pretty exceptional.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: It was a big deal. Yeah.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause being a comedian, you're not, everybody thinks you're
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: just hiding from your parents or whatever until you get
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: something people can see.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: It's a weird thing to tell people you're doing. I
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: feel like, did you feel like that?
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: I mean, even doing TV, uh, it can still be like,
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: you could still be, uh, not necessarily seen like you're
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: doing great until they see you in a big venue
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: and they go, Oh, look at.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: All these people that bought tickets to see you.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: It like means more.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Than you're on a show. They have to see something.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: And I'd be like, well, what do you, you know? Yeah.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: I just did Hollywood squares. I think a lot of
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: older people in my life feel like I made it
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: when they saw me on Hollywood squares.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Oh, definitely.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: There's everybody has their own idea of kind of what
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: making it is, you know, and it could be anything
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: and it could be from any, you know, it could
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: be some people thinking it's Charlemagne, the God show. It
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: could be some people. Oh, here you are right there, dude.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Justin Long and Drew Barrymore were on there.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: I did another episode with them and I was where
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Jeff Dunham's at. So I was right next to Drew Barrymore.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: And she was up in my square, so it was
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: very fun. I was like, yeah, it felt good.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: She's cute. What some great folks in there.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Dude, that's exciting. That's like a huge show from growing up.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Ron Funches is on there. Oh, who's the host?
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Drew Barrymore. Oh, the host is Nate Burleson. Nate Burleson.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: He's awesome, dude. Yeah, he was great.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Nate's a great dude.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Very nice, very funny.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Super talented, man. I mean, what a neat guy. That
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: guy's going to be able to have two careers, great
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: football player and– Does a great job hosting.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I don't know how long this goes,
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: but he's really great.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: He does a couple of different things. He does some
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: different stuff. You know, I'm trying to think of any
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: other blue-collar jobs.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Well, you know, I was a pizza delivery guy for
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: a long time. I worked at Papa John's. I mean,
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: that feels blue-collar. I mean, it feels like stoner blue-collar.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: That's what I did out of high school. I did
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: deliver pizzas, and it was great. You know, I was
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: getting high a lot, so it was like, You know,
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: you're riding around your own hometown. You know where everything's at.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: There was no GPS back then. So you know where
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: everything's at. He's just getting high, listening to the radio.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: It's a perfect job.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: You ever whip a slice out of somebody's order or anything?
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: No, no. I was very anti that, but I would-
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: And I respect that.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I want to say that.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I never mess with people's food. I can't do it.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Yeah, me either. I've never done anything like that.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: But I used to pick up my friends at the
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: gas station. They would meet me at the gas station.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: I'd pick them up and we'd all smoke weed together
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: while I delivered pizzas.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: That's fucking cool.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: I don't think they had anything going on, but I
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: also think it was cool for them to just ride
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: around while I was working.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: So I'd pull up to people's houses with four or
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: five dudes in the car. Had a guy one time
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: meet us outside and we were still smoking. you know,
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: and it's like a little awkward. You start to get
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: extra polite. You're like, how are you today, sir? Thanks
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: for choosing Papa John's.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: Oh, dude.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: There's nothing better than that shit, dude. The awkwardness. Dude,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I used to get fucking high and fall asleep all
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: the time. My friends didn't want me to go out
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: with them because they're like, dude, you just hit all
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: you hit like, and I would, I would hit a
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: lot of the weed and then I would literally fall
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: asleep for the next four hours.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: And they just pick me up and they'd still have
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: to drop me off at the end of the night.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I would just lay in the back of the car
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: or whatever. And I think I was just growing at
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: the time, whatever your body's just dealing with shit or whatever. And, uh,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: one night we got so high and they just started
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: a taco bell in our town. Right. And this was
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: like the grand opening. So people had come, people came
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: from 30 miles. One guy rode a horse there. People
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: were coming however they could. Um, Some people didn't even
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: get out of their cars. They just drove by. They honked.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: You know, people would drop off their spouses, just do whatever.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: They didn't even know what was going on. Yeah, it's
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: a big day. And I got out of my buddy's van.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: And they'd all been inside. I'd fallen asleep. I'd wake up.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I'd open the door. And my fucking folks are right there.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: They had just pulled up. And I'm so high. And
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: I'd never seen them. when I was high before.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: And I'm just trying to pretend like I'm not high,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: you know? Like, great seeing you guys tonight, huh? And
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: they're like, oh, fuck.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: That was not it. That was not it, dude.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: You're like, am I talking enough? Am I talking too much?
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Do I normally look this happy? Good seeing you guys
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: here tonight, huh?
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: This is so bad. Big deal, Taco Bell. Big deal.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: And then somebody did, I've told this before, somebody defecated
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: in the meat and they had to shut it down.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: And that was a true thing that happened. That was horrible.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: I bet that's happening all the time. Not just Taco Bell.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: It happened in our town. I'm not saying, and Taco Bell,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: nothing against you guys. I don't want to go there, but.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not even trashing Taco Bell, but I'm like,
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: you know, I don't trust people working these days.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: You ever go to a restaurant and see the people
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: working there and go, I don't think so. Oh, yeah.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: I've walked in and be like, let me get a
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: good look at it. Is there anybody in here who's not?
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: Does anybody look like they care in here? Yeah. I
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: don't think so. I'm going to head on out.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Somebody is just making, and there's even like a
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: guy who's like, he's just doing TikToks of him peeing
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: in people's food or whatever. And you're like, what the fuck?
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: That's insane. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: There was like a, there was a, you know, it
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: was a bit of a Taco Bell thing going on
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: for a while where people were.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, tell me.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: It wasn't Taco Bell, but they were working there. And
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: these people would take the hard shells and they would
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: just lick. They would go down and lick all the
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: hard shells in the stack. And that was TikToks for them.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: And then there was a thing where people were going
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: around opening.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: Ice cream in grocery stores and licking it and then
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: putting the lid back on.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: And that was, I think, kind of a black community
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: thing too.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: It's just like, but if you're not putting the plastic
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: over your ice cream, I'm not buying it.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Yeah, here we go. Look at this guy.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: That's the white version of right there.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: But hold on.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: You knew he was doing that for you, even fucking...
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: And that dude should be cross-eyed. The thing is, these days,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: that guy, both of his eyes are functioning well.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: We don't know if the other one looks good, though.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: That's a good point. He may be looking straight ahead
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: on the other one. That's why this one's so far over.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Dude, we had a cross-eyed dude, and he'd always try
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: to do his hair different. He's like, how did... I'm like, dude.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Just fucking do you. Like, no judgment. We love you.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: We fucking love you, dog. But you could have the
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: fucking mohawk, and people are still going to be like, damn,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: that cross-eyed guy is doing wild, you know?
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you see the mohawk on the cross-eyed guy? Yeah.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: It's like, yeah.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: It's like, God, he must not be doing well. It's like,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: you need a very organized cut, you know?
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to be everywhere else you want to
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: be as presentable as possible.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you need a cut that tithes. Yeah. Your haircut
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: needs to look like it gives 10% a month to
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: the Lord, brother.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to look like something just happened to you. Yes.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just I fell out of a business meeting.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: I lost a wheel on the rolling chair.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I just fell out of a business meeting. It
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: hit my head really hard.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: Fell out of my limousine on the way here.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: This is horrible to say, but if I were across that,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I would just always pretend like it had just happened,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: like something.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: Had just happened. Oh, yeah. Like, look at this eye, guys.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: Fuck. Just sneezed really hard. Do I look okay? That's
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: what I would do.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's like if you got a zit
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: or something, you go, oh, yeah, look at this thing.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: You know, I would always point it out.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Like, God, my stepdad is patting me on the back
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: real hard. Do I look all right or something like that? Or, man,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I just got bit by a dog. How do I look?
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: And people are like, God, you're fucking, you know? Yeah,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: you'd have to do something like that. Sudden cross-eye, this is...
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: What can cause sudden crossed eyes? That's a good question.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: Sudden crossed eyes or strabismus in adults or older children
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: can be caused by serious neurological conditions and should be
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: evaluated promptly by a healthcare provider. The most common causes
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: include stroke, brain tumor, head injury, thyroid eye disease. Interesting.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: I think I'd go with this. Cranial nerve palsies. That's
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: what I'm rocking. That's what I tell people.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's my cranial nerve.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I hit a fucking speed bump and my fucking
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: cranial nerves all acted up. You know, that's what I
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: would say. Or you could always tell the old lie
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: to your friends, both through Frisbees to each other at
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: the same time.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Or the uncorrected vision issues. Just go
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: with that one.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: Just needed glasses and just wouldn't get them. Yeah. Wouldn't
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: get them. Yeah.
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: My dad ain't no pussy as he says it. You
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: Didn't need to read those books.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of weird because I would have
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: to get two of the same book and just hold
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: them each right here, which is very expensive.
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: It's like two monitors on a computer.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Oh, man, that's ridiculous, dude. How do you feel? At
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: this point, you have to start to really feel like
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: you've made it in comedy, right?
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel good.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, I feel like I never thought I
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: would make it this far. I mean, I was just
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: messing around with comedy.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: I hear you all the time now.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: Oh, good.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: I mean, I was just, you know, I was drinking
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: and I was like, yeah, we'll do comedy. And it
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: was a good, good way to meet women. And I
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: was like, this is something to do on Friday. And
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: then I won a contest in Charleston and I was like, well,
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: maybe I can do something with this. And then I
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: just started, you know, figuring out how to work the road.
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: And I started, you know, traveling around and doing road gigs.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: And then, you know, I did some festivals and got
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: on late night and I was like, oh, this is
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: working out.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: And it just feels good. Yeah. I mean, this is,
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: cause I don't, This is what I.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Want to do. You know, I don't, I'm not trying
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: to do other things. This is what I like doing.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: Stand up is so fun. We just did that outdoor
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: festival in Winnipeg and outdoor comedy is typically not that
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: fun to me, but this was great.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: It was a really fun show. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: That was awesome, dude. You saw the trailer park boys here.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I did. I got to hang out with them
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: a bit. Yeah.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: They were funny.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: They were funny.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: Julian, the guy that seems like the real mean guy
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: in the show, was the nicest.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: With the black hat on, you mean?
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a really, really interesting guy.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: What a lineup they had there. They had Miss Pat.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: There was still smoke in the air when I got there.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: That was Miss Pat's friends, I'm sure. What a lineup.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: We had Martin Short, Mulaney. That's so cool. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: that was fun, dude. And just to be up there
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: and see what it was like there. I wish I
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: had gotten to stay a little bit longer. And I
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: called out the mayor too much, I think.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: You know, I didn't know. I heard you calling out
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: a guy, but I didn't know who the mayor was.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: I was like, release the Epstein Files.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Gillingham. He just had the perfect name to call out.
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: I have no idea who he is. But I got
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: there a day early and I walked around a little bit.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: It was fun. I liked the area.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: I thought I went to a nice steak restaurant. Turned
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: out I went to like a chain.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: The keg is what it was called i thought this
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: seems like a cool spot and then my wife who's
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: canadian uh who brought you a mug by the way
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: uh tim horton's mug we had a tim hortons in
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: hermitage now are.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: You serious they're coming over here yeah what's the tariff
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: on those tim bits i wonder.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: I don't know i've not been but i do see
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: the credit card when she spends money she brought you
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: a note there i don't know if that's a love
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: letter or not i hope.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Not but oh it's sweet thank you dude.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: But yeah, we had a Tim Hortons in Hermitage, but
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: she told me that the keg is kind of a change.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: It's kind of like the Outback of, which I don't
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: mind the Outback, but.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: No, but it's, tell her I said thank you.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: That is, well, dude, my fricking sister used to work at,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: what's the one with a birthday one? Texas Roadhouse.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Oh, I was just in a Texas Roadhouse in Alabama
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: and they do, they do quite a birthday thing in there.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: It's big. And they would always get Benjamin. He was
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: like the gay dude that worked there. And first of all,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: when you see a gay dude working at a Texas Roadhouse,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I support it. But at first, I feel like there's
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: some conflict of interest if some guy's like, this is
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: supposed to be Texas or whatever. And then some guy's
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: just over there fucking just like, you know, he's just like,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: you know, he's just he's bouncing his dangly earrings off
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: his own shoulders, you know. And he's like, they say
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: it's your birthday. Because the problem is they're all supposed
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: to sing the birthday song, but they start monopolizing the
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: use of the gay employee to do all of them.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: And that would happen a lot. I would notice at
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: my sister's restaurant, Benjamin, gay Benjamin or whatever they called him.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I didn't call him that. We'd get out there and
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: he would have to do all the birthday songs. So
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: he started feeling kind of taken advantage of. But anyway,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: I don't know what we're talking about.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Well, you know, I mean, it's, you know, you work
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: what you got, you know what I mean? You got
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: to feel good. Like they're like, it feels like nobody
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: can take your job.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Ooh, that's a good point.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: You know, you, like, oh, before long, birthdays are like,
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: they're coming in and they're going, hey, it's my wife's
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: birthday today. Is Benjamin working?
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: And Benjamin's not working. So they're like, we'll come back tomorrow.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: We'll come back when Benjamin's here for the birthday.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: We'll come back not even on my wife's birthday.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Because we want the big dog to do it.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: It's like going to McDonald's and only Grimace is there
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: or whatever. You're like, eh.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Right, right. Where's Ronald?
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: We want Ronald. Do you remember when Ronald used to
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: be at the birthday parties?
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: I mean- I don't know if he was ever at
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: my Burger King.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Was it Burger King or McDonald's?
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: McDonald's.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: I don't remember who the crew was. The Burger King
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: had the king.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that guy's a fucking creep, though. They just
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: had some issue with McDonald's. What was there, something I
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: saw on the news? Oh, yeah, that's what it was
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: right there.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: There's some Laotians, huh?
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's probably Opelika.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: There was some McDonald's news. So I'm trying to think
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: if I had another blue-collar job. Oh, yeah, I used
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: to clean out wisdom wells. I've talked about that before.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: We had a lot of wisdom wells in our town,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: and they give kids, like, summer jobs. You could go
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: clean them. And you have to get down there, right? Yeah.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: And oh, dude, I remember they had this.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: Like a fountain?
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: No, like a wishing well.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: Like you had to get down in the well.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: So you had to get a ladder and get down
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: there and get all this stuff out. But there'd be
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: money down there. Oh, and you got to keep the money.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: You got to keep a share of it. Now, you
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: didn't get to keep all of it, but they didn't know.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: But you didn't want to be dishonest. But anyway, the
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: kid I partnered with was this black kid. And he,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: I'd go down. And he was supposed to keep people
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: from making wishes or whatever while I was down there.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: But he, when I got down there, he was like,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: this is at a time in the world when I
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: think a lot of black people didn't, they were scared
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: of like magic and shit like that. Some of that
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: was still, you know, because, because of whatever had happened
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: in the past. I think, you know, like, get in
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: this box and, you know, I'm going to make you
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: a millionaire or whatever, whatever, whatever trick had been played
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: on a lot of black comedians or whatever. So anyway,
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: I'd be down there. But when I started just talking
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: up to him, it sounded real scary, I guess, because
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: of the echoes and shit. So he'd get all fucking scared.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: And I have to go back up. But dude, it's
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: just me like fucking chill out, dude.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: He's a nice kid, dude. This kid named Alton. And
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: but fucking.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: He's like, I'm not trying to make a wish. Yeah.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: But he'd just be like, what's happening to you? He'd
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: get so freaked out. And I'm like, it's just me.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: And he'd be like, it's just me, you know? So
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: he'd fucking run off and get help and shit. I
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: was like, we're fucking, it was horrible there, dude. It
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: was just fucking a nightmare. But he was so freaked out.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: But anyway, that was one job I had.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: You're down there collecting wishes.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Well, you're getting the money, but there's also a lot
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: of people throw trash down there. Oh, yeah. Crime equipment.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Crime equipment.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: I like to think there's somebody there coming to make
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: a wish and sees you come up with all the money.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: And it ruins it for them. Yeah.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: I hope not. I hope that, you know, that wasn't witnessed.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: It wasn't a lot of money. It's a lot of
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: bullshit down there.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: It's not. I mean, you might get $ 4 out of there. Oh, jeez.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: You know, nobody's coming up the ladder with fucking 75 bucks.
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: It's not the ye olde wishing well. This is not
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: the original.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Well, it's not, yeah, and they're using dimes and shit.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: There was no, you know, there's no dollars down there.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: You're not even trying to get a wish if you're
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: using a dime.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you're just fucking, yeah. You're just trying to take
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: a little weight out of your pockets.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Yeah. The well's like, you're never trying to get this wish,
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: are you?
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the well even is like, boo.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: Yeah. You think it's a ghost? You're just getting booed?
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: And then Alton runs off. He can't handle it. But
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: they should have had some sort of a censor in there.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: If a dime goes in the well, just yell something
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: at you.
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Like, fuck you. It's got to be enough
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: weight to trigger it. Right.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: But, you know, when I was a kid, you don't have,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: you know, we found some crime equipment in there. We
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: found a sword, like a bloody sword, I remember. A
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: lot of to-go containers, people just driving out there, throwing,
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: having a picnic, throwing all their shit in there.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: You know, people didn't, you know, a lot of people,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: I think, thought it was like just recycling and shit. Like,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: so just shit like that. But anyway, those are the days, man.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: What's happening in the news right now? What do we got, dude?
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: A nationwide McDonald's boycott planned for August 1st. So that's
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: just happened.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Whoa. So why are people boycotting? I guess you're finding
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: this out right now.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: Yeah, the planned boycott of McDonald's in August was announced
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: by John Schwartz, founder of the People's Union USA. Why?
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: The action has been spearheaded by progressive groups who have
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: expressed a number of concerns over issues including company tax
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: avoidance and workers' rights. in addition to backlash over companies
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: scaling back diversity hiring commitments?
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Well, I've been boycotting McDonald's for a long time, I think.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: I don't eat there, but not a real boycott. I
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: just don't eat there. I don't like it. I don't
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: think it's good.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: That's fair.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: You know what?
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: I think... Yeah, is it good? That's a great question.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: I don't think it's good anymore.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: There's hardly any fast food that I think is good anymore.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I lived off Hardee's growing up. I mean, that's all
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: we ate. There's a Hardee's right down the street from
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: our trailer park. We had to pass it going to school,
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: from school. I would eat breakfast, lunch, dinner. We ate
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: Hardee's nonstop.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Hardee's used to be really good.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: I like a Hardee's breakfast still, but I'm not into
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: a Hardee's lunch and dinner.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Well, I don't think these places should be doing dinner.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Lunch, I'll buy it. I'll buy it. You guys are
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: doing lunch, but you're doing dinner. Now, I will say this.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Hardee's is just a Carl's Jr. in disguise. A lot
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: of people don't know that.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Well, Hardee's breakfast, though, is banging, though. These biscuits, yeah,
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: I mean, biscuits and gravy. I used to get a
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: loaded omelet biscuit. This was back when I was drinking,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: and I was pretty fat. I would get a loaded
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: omelet biscuit, and then I would get biscuits and gravy,
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: and then I would put the gravy on the loaded
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: omelet biscuit.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: No way.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: It was unbelievable.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: And they weren't offering that?
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: They weren't offering it at the time. I think later
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: they did, but I think somebody found out about what
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: I was doing in the parking lot of a Lowe's.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: One of these fucking ops watching me eat.
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: That's how it is, dude. Well, I sometimes will get
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: a double hamburger from McDonald's, and then it's not on
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: the menu.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: Wow. It's not on the menu? You just have to
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: ask for it?
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: I want a double hamburger. And, you know, they'll make
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: a sound or something if it's a, you know. If
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: it's a black lady, they'll get kind of pissed or
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: whatever for a second. You can hear them getting pissed
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: even when the mic's off.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Sometimes. Well, the drive-through's like that. You can
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: hear that. You can feel the tension. Yeah.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: You can hear, yeah. But that's it right there, that
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: double hamburger.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: See, to me, that doesn't even look good. And this
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: is the picture to make it look the best it's
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: ever going to. It doesn't even come out looking that good.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Oh, this is its Olin Mills photo.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: This is its headshot. And it's, yeah, you're right. I think,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: bring up a picture of a hamburger from McDonald's, I
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: would say from the 1970s. Let's see what it looked
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: like then.
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I bet they had some sesame seeds on
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: it back then.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Ooh, that's true. They didn't even put those on. Probably
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: saves them a millim cent.
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, look at that.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about. Extra bun in there. I
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: guess that's probably a Whopper or something. I don't know what,
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: who has what, but yeah, look at that thing.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: That thing was pretty good. Now, the Big Mac used
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: to be– you don't even hear about the Big Mac anymore.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: And, dude, my mom, we would take us– I've said
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: this before, but we would go sometimes and get a bacon, egg,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: and cheese biscuit in the morning from McDonald's. That was
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: something nice that we got to do.
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: Those were good.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: During Thanksgiving week or whatever.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: The hash brown was a full thing. I like that.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: I like a McDonald's. McDonald's hash brown I still like.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: It was good.
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: Full thing. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: It was good, dude. And my mom– She would order
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: the McFish or whatever, but she would act like after
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: we'd all ordered, I've said this before, but it still
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: blows my mind. She'd be like, and I'll have, and
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: she would make sure we were all kind of quiet so.
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: She could order it. Yeah.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Like she was ordering from like a special fucking menu,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: like we're going to eat in a private room or something.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: She'd be like, and I'll have the McFish.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, she wants to separate it. This is what the
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: kids have had. 100%. Now I'm an adult and I'll
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: be eating this.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Guys, go get your sodas. And she's like, and I'll
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: have the McPherson.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: Well, you know, I do that if I order coffee
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: at like a Starbucks at the drive-thru and I'm ordering
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: for my wife. I'll go, my wife will have this.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: And then I'll have a black coffee.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, my wife will have a fucking wedding cake in
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: a cup.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry to do this to you. Yes. This
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: is what she'll have.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: My wife needs to take a nap in an hour,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: so she's going to have so much sugar so that
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: she can do that. Dude, my ex-girlfriend would put like
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: eight sugars in her fucking coffee, dude. We'd go to meetings,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: and she'd put like eight sugars in her coffee.
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: I'd be like, God, that's bad.
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: In my wife's defense, she is just getting cream in
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: her coffee, but still, I'm like, I want you to
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: know I'm not doing that.
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: And this may be a note for help. Okay, so
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: we don't know. What's really going on there?
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: We don't know what's in there. I didn't read it.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: She did seal it, which I found interesting.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Well, that's sweet of her, dude.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: If it wasn't sealed, I could have read it in
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: the car.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: Oh, there was the jelly roll wrestling. I saw that thing.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: You see that?
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: I didn't see it.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: This is jelly rolls wrestling now. Look at this fucking
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: jelly roll, dude. Look how fit he is.
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Look at that clothesline. Oh, jelly rolling Logan Paul. Oh,
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: Jelly Roll's the new Undertaker. Yeah. Just when you thought
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: wrestling couldn't be more realistic. I know, it's crazy.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: But I think Logan didn't like some of Jelly Roll's songs,
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: and that's how this happened.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: So... and I know Jelly Roll's doing a lot of
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: stuff to lose weight, but this is, this is like
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: one of those things you get out of South America
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: to get done.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: Who's this other guy? Is this other guy got any
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: albums out, or?
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: I don't know. It's Jake Paul's brother. Yeah.
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: Okay, I think that's enough. And look, they hug at
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: the end. They're trying to fucking kiss real quick. But
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: hold on, go back just a little bit on this
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: video that is also, first of all, great job.
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: What a move by him, Logan Paul. Yeah.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: Oh, Logan Paul is a good wrestler.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: He is what it takes for the sport. You know,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: he does that thing. Have you seen that down syndrome
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: guy that hits those two beers together and then gets
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: in the glass?
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: I only know Stone Cold to smash the— that' s all I know.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: I kind of tapped out a while ago on wrestling,
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: but— But.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Go back to the beginning of the video, please. You'll
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: see Jelly on the table when they put him on
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: the table. Watch. He kind of— this is like me, like,
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: say if I'm at a girl's place, and, like, she's like,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: I'm going to go to the restroom or something. I'll
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: try to make myself look cool, like get in the
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: right position. Watch him kind of scoot over.
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: He kind of just moves it to the right spot
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: so that it works out. Dude, that was pretty cool.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: But that's wrestling, dude. That was big in our town. Dude,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: one of our neighbors dated a Hulk Hogan impersonator, actually. Oh.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: And that was pretty cool. We'd always get excited. He'd
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: come in the yard and fucking.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: Rip his shirt off. Yeah. Yeah. You know, Jelly Roll's
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: a real Nashville guy. Yeah.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: My friend— used to work at Hooters, and she would
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: say that Jelly Roll used to come in back in
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: the day. He's always been a rapper in town. So
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: I think that's cool.
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: Yeah. I met Jelly Roll a few times. Nice guy. Oh,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: the best.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: Jelly Roll sang to my mom outside of Zany's on
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: the sidewalk one time.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Really? Yeah.
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: Yeah. That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Oh, he's just so heartfelt, man. Yeah. He's just a
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: human hug, you know. And just his dieting. How much
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: has Jelly Roll lost? It's got to be 150 pounds.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: It's got to be a lot. I've not seen him
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: like that. He looked very thin. You would think you
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: would want a heavier jelly roll to be in the WWE.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: 200 pounds. It says in a year, almost 200 in
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: a year.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: And his energy, dude, I saw him a couple weeks ago.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I was just after Shane Gillis had done his show
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: at the Espy's. We stopped in to say what's up on.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: He was like out, just great energy saying, you know,
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: just like his energy level, everything.
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: I remember seeing him a couple years ago and I
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: was like, man, it just seemed like he was in
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: unsafe territory health-wise. I mean, just visibly, you know, you
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: don't know. But that's pretty amazing, dude. Yeah, we're going
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: to go to Hulk Hogan's funeral this week.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm bummed about that. I always wanted to meet
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: Hulk Hogan. I was always a fan as a kid.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: I got a little Hulk Hogan alarm clock at home.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: I mean, I don't use it still.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: But I got one. But I had it as a kid.
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: Someone sent it to me. But I had one as
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: a kid, like, you know, wake up, eat your vitamins,
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: you know, say your prayers.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: He was exceptional, man.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: He was exceptional, dude. Yeah, dude. I mean, this dude
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: would come over to date this lady in our neighborhood,
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: and he would get out of his car and do
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: the whole Hulk Hogan thing, like when he was going
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: up to the door to knock on her door.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, doing the, yeah. I'm a real American.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: And he'd play the song in his car, and we'd
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: all get out there and fucking chill.
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Fucking party, dude.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the clock. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got one
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: of those.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: Yeah, man, it's kind of sad. I mean, when I
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: grew up here, it's just like my buddy Eddie Joe,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: my buddy Larry Tisdale, William Teague. On our street, we
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: loved Hulk Hogan, bro. We loved him, dude. We loved
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: all of WWE, WWF, NWA, all those guys.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. We used to go– in Opelika, Columbus, Georgia
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: is close, and that's where they had– Georgia Championship Wrestling
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: and WCW, so we used to go there, watch Ric
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: Flair and Sting back in the day. Yeah. Steiner Brothers.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: Steiner Brothers, dude. Those guys. Bushwhackers. I got a bunch
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: of pictures that we just took on our camera.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: Steiner Brothers are the only Jewish mentally challenged people, I think,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: in the South.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: You know, they just didn't have that back then.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: But that, I mean, that just shows you, like, Jewish
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: people are just so, like, they'll always figure out a way.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: You know, they take their two mentally handicapped people, they
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: put them into wrestling.
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: And look at them. They're stacked.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: Well, some cultures, we're putting our best people into wrestling.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. We're giving up good guys for this.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: Dude, and the crazy part was, though, that guy and
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: that lady, they got in, like, a domestic dispute. And
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: the cops would think it was just them fucking practicing
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: wrestling and shit. Like, that was the craziest thing. If
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: you dated, like, a Hogan impersonator or, like, a Jimmy
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: Snook impersonator or whatever because they'd fucking be clotheslining somebody
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: in the.
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: Yard and the cops were like, that's awesome, you know?
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: Want it back.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: She's helping. She's a good wife. She's helping in practice.
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: Getting ready.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: It was just different times, dude.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: Little Miss Elizabeth out here. Um.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Are you worried about AI stealing your job at all?
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: Do you think about that as a comedian?
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: I don't think so, but I do think I'm in
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: a good place to, because AI can't even get the
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: way that I look right.
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: Maybe the way I look to other people, but it
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: never looks like me. It can't get my jokes down.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: People try to get it to write an AI joke.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: It never makes any sense. And then I feel like
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: my delivery is my comedy. Uh, so I think, and
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: people tell me all the time, I try to help
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: them write jokes and they go, well, that's funny if
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: you say it. Uh, so, uh, and I'm, but I
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: also think I'm in a good spot to make enough
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: money to where I can, uh, just chill because I
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: live a normal life. So I can just chill out, uh,
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: if AI does steal my job. But there is, apparently
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: there is something where they're trying to get some kind of, uh, uh,
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: pass some legislation with AI where it's like, If someone
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: is using your likeness for AI, then you can get
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: royalties off of it.
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: So maybe AI could do corporate gigs for me.
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: Ooh, that'd be nice.
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: I wouldn't get hired for a lot of corporate gigs
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: because I like, just because I have more profanity in
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: my setting. Your set's pretty clean.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: Is your set fully clean?
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: I wouldn't say it's, I like to say I'm relatively clean, right?
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Where I go, I go, I don't want kids to
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: come to my show, but you know, you can watch
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: with your aunt and not be embarrassed that you're watching
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: it with her. I get, you know, I got, I
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: got a few sex jokes and stuff like that, but
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: nothing too graph, nothing graphic at all and nothing.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: And I like to talk about drugs. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: That's fair. Yeah. Yeah, that doesn't even look like you
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: very much.
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: Right. I mean, it's like people could say, oh, there's
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: a guy that looks like Dusty, but he really doesn't
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: look like me.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, Microsoft just dropped a study showing the 40
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: jobs most affected by AI and 40 that they can't touch.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: Let's look at through these. Phlebotomist, that's true. Getting blood
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: out of somebody.
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: Nursing assistants.
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: I like that nursing assistant is listed higher here than
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: like a nurse.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: Yeah. So are they saying.
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: Hazardous materials, waste, reverbal. What is that? Removal workers. Embalmers.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: Fuck yeah. Yeah. Tire repairs. Hell yeah. Yeah. Prosthodontist, dude.
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: People that make prosthetics and shit. We had a place
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: that made some prosthetics near us and they would throw
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: all the bad ones over the fence, dude. And they'd
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: be in the woods back behind our house. We'd be
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: fucking humming thumbs at each other and shit.
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: We'd flip each other off with fucking kneecaps and shit.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: It was awesome.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: My wife read this book. It was like by Klaus Schwab.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Like it was like called The Great Reset. And it
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: was like COVID-19 and The Great Reset.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: I've heard about that.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: And it wasn't like some conspiracy book. It was a
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: book he wrote.
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: And he had talked about in there that like entertainment
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: jobs are safe because people are always going to need entertainment.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Yeah. But what if we don't have any money to survive?
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: Do you think people are going to spend it to
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: like rent a film or something?
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: I mean, if there's no money, that will be tough.
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: it'd be tough to make money off live performance, but
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: I think we just make less money.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: Like you do it for cabbages or something. Right.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: Totally. I think you would still show up and have
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: a tent or something and do it like that, you know,
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: and sell like, you know, make it a nickel or dime,
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: you know, whatever the thing is. I agree. Um, and
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: maybe that's what it would become. You're just traveling around
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: with a cart and that's what you're doing.
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Now working for drink tickets. Wouldn't be so bad.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: We're like, yes, please.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: Dude.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: I always had a dream of working under a tent,
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: you know?
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: Yeah. I really like a carnival. Yeah.
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: And it's peer to peer that way, too. It's just
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: this is it.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be I mean, like comedy would be
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: so fun in a way that if you could you
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: just travel to different towns and just do comedy under
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: a tent. And nobody like the old days of comedy.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: Nobody knows what you're going.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: To be doing. Yeah. And you just do the same
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: act for 10 years.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: It was all a surprise. Yeah. Yeah. OK, here's some
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: at risk jobs, writers and authors. Historians. That would be
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: one I would be kind of scared.
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: Writers and authors. That's at risk right now because no
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: one's reading. Right. Including myself. Yeah.
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: It's different times. Statistical assistants, data scientists, web developers. Kind
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: of things you would think of, sort of. Let me
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: see if there's anything out there. Concierges. Yeah.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Models well concierge because you can just google restaurants near me.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: Yeah but then you almost do want to be like
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: what's really good you know you want I feel like
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: to me you want but you're probably.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: Right models I feel like they'll be fine.
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: Yeah models dude they need somebody to freaking do blow
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: or whatever Yeah.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Who's going to do that?
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, now roofers?
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: No.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: Roofers are already doing drugs of their own. That's for models.
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: I did drugs with roofers in Gulf Shores, Alabama one time.
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: I was like a late teenager and was looking for weed.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: I met these guys, real tan on the beach, jean shorts.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: And they gave me a little weed and then they
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: took me and my buddy back to their trailer. And
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: they had all this weed in the freezer. And the
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: guy had a bong, but the slide, the bowl was
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: made out of a piece of two by four and
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: it was carved out. So he had, you know, still
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: a slide where you take it off to clear the chamber.
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: And he packed it in and he goes, he was like,
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: let me hold it.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: Let me hold. And then he wanted to clear the chamber.
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: And then we both coughed our heads off. And then
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: we got so paranoid.
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: It's 4th of July. Fireworks are going off. We think
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: it's gunshots. We're freaking out. This guy loves it. He
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: loves it.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: We're freaking out. And that makes it even scarier. He's
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: just laughing.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: He starts playing electric guitar to your fears.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: That's scary, dude.
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: When you're scared and somebody's like, oh, you're really scared
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: right now? Let me play this electric guitar for you. Yeah.
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: Yeah. And then it was fine.
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: We got to leave. But it was like terrifying. And
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: then you're finally– you never think you're going to get
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: out of there. And then you're in the car and
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: you're like, ah, and we got some weed.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: Dude, is there anything better than you trapped in some
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: place you're so fucking high when you finally get out
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: of there and you're like, oh. And it could have
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: just been anywhere. It could have been a conversation. It
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: could have been a car ride. It could have been anything.
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: Yeah. And then you're finally out of there and you're like, oh,
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: it's over now.
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: Free at last.
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: I'm free. Yeah.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: God, that shit was fun.
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: I love that. What else we got? Oh, in two
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: separate– Recent WNBA games have been plagued with a new problem.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: Unruly spectators throwing sex toys onto the court. Hmm.
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: Indeed, officials had to pause two WNBA games this week
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: because a person in the stands threw a sex toy
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: on the court. The first incident happened on Wednesday in Atlanta,
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: while the second happened on Friday in Chicago.
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: Sounds like they're trying to pump it up.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: Yeah, they're trying to get you excited. Indiana Fever Guard
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: Sophie Cunningham shared on her social media that Her concerns
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: about people throwing these NSFW items on WNBA courts with
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: an ominous warning. You're going to hurt one of us.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: And what are they throwing?
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: Let me see.
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: I'm guessing it's.
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: I saw a picture.
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: You did?
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: And then what is it? Okay.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: We don't get to see it hit the court though. Somebody,
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: first of all, great accuracy. And that lady kicked it
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: just into the stands, which seems crazy. That doesn't even
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: make sense. That second one, I thought, I mean, that
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: second one, that was a great shot. Oh, 35 to
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: 70 bucks. So somebody's, you know, you're not just screwing
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: around out there.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: Yeah, somebody's putting some money into it.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: I mean, it is kind of wild, I guess, to–
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: but first of all, I'd embrace it if I'm the WNBA, right?
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: I would shoot those things out of a t-shirt candidate
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: during Pride Month or whatever.
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: I mean, if things get wild and people start tuning in,
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: that's great.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: It's good money.
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: You don't want people to get hurt, and I guess
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: that's disrespectful, but it's like, yeah, turn the negative around.
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: Yeah, let's put a positive spin on it. I mean,
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: that lady was excited. And I don't know if that's AI.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: It could be AI. It's allegedly a picture of a woman. Um,
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: but that's an attractive lady who is very fired up.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: And then maybe you make it like a, there's one
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: minute during the game. It's almost like where they throw
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: the fish on the ice.
- 1:42:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: It's like this. There's like, if somebody hits three, three
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: pointers in a row, they hit a hat trick.
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: They throw a catfish on the ice.
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: Are they, they, uh, you know, they trolling sex toys
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: out there, bro.
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: Yeah, make it like a pom-pom. Like in Mississippi, they
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: have the bells. Isn't it like Mississippi.
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: State has the bells, the cow bells? Yeah.
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: And then you have pom-poms and you have different, you
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: could have little vibrators.
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: Yeah, just a bunch of vibrations. Welcome to the hive.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: Call your place the hive or whatever.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: We're buzzing tonight. And then you also.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: Have, yeah, like if somebody has three three-pointers in a row,
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: everybody throw a dildo out there, you know?
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: You know, bounce a plastic keg off the floor or whatever.
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: And then you see people taking them home with them
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: after the game. Oh, yeah. I mean, look.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: Like I bought a $ 20 ticket. I took home a
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: $ 40 dildo. I made money here.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Some kid has a collection in his room from like,
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. I mean, look, I think
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: you have to embrace it. You don't get free advertising
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: like this a lot. And Caitlin Clark's out. She's been
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: injured half of the season this year almost, or not half,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: but a decent amount. So you need people to tune in.
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: I don't know. You got to get those viewers.
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: TBD, man.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: We're all trying to get views out here. We're doing
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: what we got to do.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: If somebody starts throwing dildos on the stage at my
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: show and it gets people into it, I say let's
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Okay. You heard him, guys. You heard him.
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: Only if it gets people into it. If it's not
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: driving sales, then we got to shut it down.
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: But, dude, you're telling me a t-shirt can full of
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: five or six dildos and they just popping them bitches off.
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: People are catching them in the stands. That's fucked.
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: There's a way to do it and there's a way
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: not to do it, guys. We're just helping you think. Um,
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: but yeah, yeah. I think the, the WNBA can embrace
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: more like lesbian style stuff or tactics. People call them.
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah.
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: And, uh, and we don't have to call him that.
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: What else? Oh, comedian Matt Rife buys home of couple
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: who inspired the conjuring becomes guardian of the haunted Annabelle doll.
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: This is interesting.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: Yeah. I've seen this. This freaks me out.
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: I feel like I'm your I'm your friend at the
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: top of the wishing well now. This is freaking me out.
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: I didn't know about this.
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: Matt Reif is pivoting to the paranormal, at least when
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: it comes to his new pad. The stand-up comedian has
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: bought the former house of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: ghost hunters who inspired the couple played by Patrick Wilson
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: and Vera Famiglia in The Conjuring franchise. I've officially purchased
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: Ed and Lorraine Warren's home and occult museum. Where is that?
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: I don't know, but I saw him talking about that
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: this morning and I like him, but I think this
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: is scary.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: It's interesting.
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: Freaks me out for him.
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: Ed and Lorraine Warren's famous house, which includes the occult
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: museum and the artifacts featured in many other investigations, is
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: located in Monroe, Connecticut. The museum housed in the basement
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: in a separate outbuilding at this location contains many allegedly
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: haunted and occult items collected by the Warrens. The museum
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: was closed to the public in 2019. As of recent years,
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: the property is not open to the public due to
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: zoning restrictions. Visitors are strongly discouraged. Wow, how much did
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: he pay for it? How much does something like that cost,
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: I wonder?
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: You like that?
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: Are you into this kind of paranormal stuff like this?
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if I would want to
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: sleep around that or encourage another portal to hell to
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: be open in my life.
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: I just think there's already a lot of dark arts
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: going on out there. And I do not know if
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: this is the other type of behaviors we need.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: It feels like he's going, this is going pretty well.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: Let's try to mix it up a bit.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and he also has a shirt on
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: that says God's country. So maybe he's trying to get
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: in there and refurbish some of what they're doing.
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe so.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: Insane announcement. I've officially purchased Ed and Lorraine's home. I'm
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: prominent properties in paranormal history.
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: The other guy's shirt says rise above fear. I mean,
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: maybe they're, yeah, they're trying to, Yeah. Trying to turn
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: it around.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: They could be the new Bieber and Carl Lentz.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know what they did, but.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Bieber and Carl Lentz, where they kind of had joined
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: up and just had a relationship. I think that part
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: of it was based on both of their religious views.
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: Oh, yes, yes. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe so. What would you buy if you could
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: buy something like that? Or if you just spent money
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: on something wild?
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: See, I like land. If I could just buy a
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: lot of land. Oh, yeah.
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: Because land is so expensive now, but it's so... So valuable.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: I just love to buy a lot of land. I'd
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: like to have, you know, a lot of woods and
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: mountains and creeks and water.
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: Well, we could just, me and my kids could just
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: get on the four-wheeler and just ride around out there
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: or just walk and explore, get some animals, get some,
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: I went to a museum and, or not a museum,
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: like a eagle thing in, outside of Gatlinburg where they
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: have like a lot of eagles and falcons and owls.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: Birds.
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: I love that stuff.
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: God.
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: I'm all about it.
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: I want to build a food forest, you know, where
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: everything in the forest is all fruit bearing, food bearing,
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: you know, vines and trees and bushes.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: And would it become like a pass through for starving people?
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: Like what's the strategy kind of behind it? Or just
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: to have it for yourself?
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: Yeah, just so, you know, me and my kids and
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: family could, and my wife could just go eat fresh
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: fruit and vegetables all the time. I mean, maybe if
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: you're starving, yeah, you could walk through there too. Get
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: yourself some food.
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: Dude, that's awesome. I'd stop through there if I was
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: really hungry. I would come by there. Yeah. Yeah, that's nice.
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: I would like to have a place like that. If
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: I get a family and stuff, I'm going to get
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: me a little bit of land, get me a dog
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: or two.
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: Maybe a cat. I don't know. Who knows? That's crazy.
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: I'm not getting a cat. But I will– try to
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: get something nice but i love that dude but would
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: you if you could buy something like matt must really
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: be in the paranormal i'm guessing because this seems that's
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: definitely unique um unless they partnered with matt this is
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: the thing you have to realize about advertising they may
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: have just partnered with matt let's put this article out
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: and let's revamp let's make this museum really pop you
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: know oh yeah who knows you just never know but
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: i mean that's how advertising is um Yeah, do you,
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of what I would buy.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: Maybe like a small castle. You ever see, like, I
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: don't know, I think that'd be fun. Have a little,
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: you know, like whatever they call the little, I don't
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: know what you call them, but on the sides of
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: the castle, it kind of has the round thing that
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: goes up. Have a little tower up there, have a little.
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: Yeah, what is that called? It looks like a rook
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: in chess. Yeah, put a little perplexity on it though.
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: Round part of castle tower.
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: Yeah, like that's what I'm talking about. A drum tower.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: The drum towers, yeah.
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: I'd love to have something like that.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: God, that would be nice.
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: Little castle walls so you have to go through a door,
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: but inside is a little courtyard so you're protected, but
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: you could still have a little village inside.
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: Get a bunch of my friends to come live with
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: their families.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: God, it'd be fun. Yeah, I wouldn't mind being part
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: of a commune or something one day. Yeah. Or group
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: living where you just live off the land and you're
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: kind of.
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: I'm into that too. People get so negative about it,
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: but I'm into that. I don't think there's anything wrong
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: with it.
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: I think that'd be great. Yeah. You don't want to
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: be like a cult, but close to it.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I think they only get negative about it.
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: It often gets panned off like on white people too.
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: It's like, I don't think if white people, if they're
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: not being racist, they can support other people like themselves.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: I mean, and I just think it'd be fun to
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: just have a little community where you're like, you know,
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: you're all You're like, one person does this, one person
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: does this, and then you trade.
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm the shoemaker or whatever.
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: Like, I'll make you something.
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you're repairing your shoes and your boots, and one
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: person's really good at cooking, and one person's good at farming.
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: One person's good at, you know, I don't know, working
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: on cars or raising a horse.
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: Yeah, or I'll do like the little methadone area if
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: we need it.
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and you might need it.
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: Cause people likely will come to the commune and need
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: to need a little.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: Help, you know? Oh yeah.
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: You got to have that area too. Like, Oh, I'll
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: meet you over there in the methadone teepee.
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: And eventually that's the most popular teepee in the place.
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: Now the shoes aren't getting repaired. That's the thing you.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: Start to worry about is how does this all break down?
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I just bought Dustin. I bought
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: Dustin Poirier's gloves from his last fight from his UFC fight.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I wanted the last one so bad, but, um,
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: somebody beat me on ebay or whatever but i would
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: buy james j braddock something like a memorabilia of his
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: remember him from cinderella man oh yeah i would buy
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: some memorabilia of his yeah the bulldog of bergen baby
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: that's who i would buy some of his i mean
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: that's just something like a specific thing i would get you.
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: Know yeah but oh yeah when i was just thinking
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: in reference like in the same world of a house
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: like he's bought so i was just like that's why
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: i said castle or But yeah, I mean, I would
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: love just a lot of land. I think it just,
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: cause you can just do so much. I got 10
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: acres that I've been doing all these things. I've been
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: building little swales and put fruit trees and all these
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: different things on it. I've been trying to cultivate it.
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: I'm into ponds now. I want to build a, I
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: want to build a pond at the top that kind
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: of pumps water from the creek and comes down and
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: runs all throughout.
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: And do you have access to a creek?
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: Wow. I want to build a lot of water channels.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Do they allow how much water you can access and stuff?
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: I've not looked into it because I don't live out
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: there in McMinnville. So I don't know how much I
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: can do right now, but I would, I don't want
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: to steal it. I just want to borrow it and
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: then channel it back to the creek. I like that.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: I love that. Or borrow it, put a flavored syrup
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: in it, channel it back. Imagine.
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: Imagine somebody's upstream like, oh, this is nice water downstream. Like, Motherfucker,
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: that's Sprite.
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, and you're like, you're just out. You think, oh,
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: I'll get a nice drink from the creek.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: Yeah. Mountain Dew.
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: That's it.
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: They think you're making a pun because it's coming from
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: a mountain, and you're like, no, this is really just
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: Mountain Dew.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: Yeah, dude.
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: Now, if somebody's just peeing in the river, you're downstream
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: of that. That's Mountain Don't.
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: That's right. That is right.
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: That's damn Mountain Don't, dude. Oh, this part. Rife noted
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: that he and Castee plan to open the house for
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: overnight stays and museum tours so you yourself can experience
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: and learn all the haunted history surrounding this amazing place.
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: I think that's cool, man. Matt's a creative guy. And, oh, yeah,
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: Elton Castee. He's a paranormal guy.
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: Hell, yeah.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: Fuck them well fuck all them ghosts dude or whatever
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: dude don't touch them you know but.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: I'm in the don't touch them camp but you know
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: everybody's got to do their own thing.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: Well look i'm sorry we've you know i don't know
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: i don't really want to walk with satan.
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: Yeah that's what i'm saying so i'm not into it
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: but you know people you know somebody's got to be.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Yeah to each their own yeah i'm glad it's not
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: me but i'm good luck to those guys yeah that's
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: what i say um Hot dog spill shuts down highway
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: in Pennsylvania. Commuter's worst nightmare.
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: Little hot dog pun in there.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: Yep, W-U-R-S-T.
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: Look at all those Franks on that freeway.
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: It's like a WNBA game out here.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Dude, that's the kind of stuff we need.
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Get the news pumped up.
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: Dude, here's what they do. Now I have a great idea.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: In the middle, in the middle of the court at halftime,
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: You can hum a dildo, right?
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: Or H-A-D, whatever they want to call them. You can
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: chuck a dildo out there. If it lands in that
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: middle area, the middle circle where they do the tip
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: ball in the middle of the court, if it lands
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: in there, you get a free frank.
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: Free hot dog. Yeah, I love that. That's a good idea.
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: You know, what they could call, you know, ring a
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: wiener for a wiener or something like that.
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: Wiener, wiener, hot dog, diener. Yeah.
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: You get a hot dog sponsor. You get some dildo
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: sponsors in there. You get it all working out.
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: Yeah. Everybody's making a little extra money out here.
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: I like it. And you're feeding the fans, man. Yeah.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: You telling me a lot of these ladies don't want
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: that hot frank?
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: They do.
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: Look at these guys with the shovels, though. Imagine your
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: day of shoveling hot dogs.
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: Yeah. Lucky, dude.
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: Let me get a gander at these guys. All right, Shrewsbury, PA,
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: a truckload of hot dogs spilled across a Pennsylvania interstate
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: Friday after a crash that briefly clogged the highway in
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: both directions. Crews were stuck with a job they did
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: not relish. More play on words. Rolling up the scattered
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: tube stakes for disposal.
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: Heavily traveled artery.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: Oh, another one.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: Once those leave the truck and hit the road, that's
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: all garbage and it's still pretty warm. Okay. So one
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: guy was upset that they couldn't use them. A front-end
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: loader was used to scoop, which also I'm going to
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: say is what my dad referred to my stepmom as once.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: So I'm not saying she got around, but a front-end
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: loader was used to scoop up the hot dogs and
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: drop them into a dump truck. I can tell you personally,
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: hot dogs are very slippery, the fire chief said. I
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: did not know that.
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: You're telling me the fire chief's never had a hot dog?
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: Come on, dude.
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: Dude, that's their main source of sustenance. If you've ever
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: been to any firehouse, there is always a crock pot
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: going with a couple hot dogs in it.
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: I think he was just like, if you're quoting me,
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: I want you to know I've never touched a wiener before.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. A lot of those guys will keep it
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: straight no matter whatever they got to do to get it.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Four people required medical attention, Dowerman said, for injuries that
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: police said were not life-threatening. Okay.
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: What happened to them?
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: God. Hopefully this ends up becoming a 30 for 30.
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: You got to know. Tie it into the WNBA. Meanwhile. Yeah.
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: Ah, Dusty Slay, man. Thanks for hanging out, dude.
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks for having me. This is great. I appreciate it.
- 1:57:18Speaker 3: So much fun. Yeah.
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: Congrats on wet heat. It's out there now. People can
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: go watch it.
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's on Netflix. It's streaming. It's hot. It's a
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: good special. It's not a time waster.
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: No, it is not. People love it. And they get
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: to know you, too. I think you have your own
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: kind of pentameter. your own sort of style. I mean,
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: most comedians do, but I think you really feel it here,
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: you know?
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: I modeled this hat after this one I'm wearing right here. See,
- 1:57:50Speaker 2: this is a Kodiak wintergreen, so I can't really wear
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: this hat, but that one on my head there modeled
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: after this one.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: Oh, they wouldn't let you wear that one.
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: Well, I think that we were just worried about it.
