- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Well, we are increasing the birthday wheel yet another week.
- 0:03SPEAKER_02: So what are we up to for next week now?
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: Because nobody called in ten minutes and six seconds.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: Six hundred and thirty-six dollars.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Okay, there you go.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: You now know next week could be a big week for you.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: We were going through some ways that you might be able to help yourself from uh getting, you know, a tick bite uh or getting your pet one.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: It's just an epidemic around here.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: We've we work with multiple people that have gone through this now.
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: Already just this deal, yeah.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Just this year.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Like this isn't just like in their entire life.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: This year it's happened to a couple coworkers.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I don't want Lyme's disease.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: I know somebody, actually, we know a couple people who've gotten Lyme's disease.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: And the backlash of these ticks is insane.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Anyway, if you missed it, you can catch it on demand.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Uh, just go to either the Wink 106 app, Twin Tears Magic app, or My Radio Jams app.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: It'll be on the Scott Nelly on demand.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: So you'll be able to get just little a couple little things that you can do around your house.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: One of them that we received in our text line.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: So when you download either the Wink 106 app, the Twin Tears Magic app, or My Radio Jams app, is that we get texts throughout the morning about just everything.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And one of these is a kind of, I think, a genius little hack.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: It says two of my family members have already gotten ticks and we have to treat the yard, so that'll be fun.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: People have also said to put duct tape like sticky side out on your ankles to catch them before they crop your leg.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it works though.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: I don't know either.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: How do you get it to stick together?
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: You know, if it's the wrong side out.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: Like if the sticky side's on the outside.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess you could fold it around.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: I see how you're doing it.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: I just put that together in my head.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: You just wrap it around.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Why he's not the doctor of the show.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Then Pony Joe.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Pony Joe just said, I got tested when I took off a tick for Lyme, but the worst is the anaplasmosis that a tick carries.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: What the hell's that?
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: I have no clue.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Now you're giving us a whole new medical thing going on today.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne bacterial disease spread primarily by the bite of an infected black-legged tick.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: Oh, those the black-legged ticks.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle pain, chills, typically starting one to two weeks after a bite.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's right the outside.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: So you forgot you got bit, and then you're sitting there going, I feel like death.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Um, they said it is highly treatable with antibiotics like doxycycline, but early detection is vital.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Well.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Hint that the truth.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Let me play you this audio.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: You're a server.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: You're you're not servers aren't rich, you know, but once in a while you get that big fat tip.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: They're like, yes.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Like I've gotten a hundred dollar tip before.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: I felt Oh, that's gotta feel great.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, I felt like I mean the bill was four thousand dollars, but either way.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Well, this person got a big fat tip, but then got fired.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: She received a$700 tip on a$30 tab from a regular customer that hadn't been in a while.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: She didn't notice it until after he left.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: When she took it to the manager, the manager told her to put zero in the tab because that was just too much money to hand out.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Clearly, she was upset.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Her manager then said to her that she's here to do a job, and if she can't do it, then she needs to leave.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: My daughter got herself together, completed her shift, and at the end of the shift, they then told her that they could give her 20%.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: So they gave her$6 on the$700 tip.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Today she was gonna go in, which she did, they just fired her.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: So she's like, I don't want to leave because why all of a sudden do I have a$700 tip and I'm fired the next day?
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So they tell her that they're calling the police, and she's like, good, call the police because you're stealing my money.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: I also want to note this the customer even wrote underneath$700.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Like they wrote out.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: You answered my question because my first thought is the customer hadn't been in in a while, maybe a little bit older, maybe somebody that doesn't quite have everything connecting up top anymore, and they were sitting there going, they didn't know what they did.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: Because then I would feel as though she was taking advantage of somebody, you know, like I meant seven dollars or you know, even seventy dollars.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Even even the customer said, Hey, I only have a charge of$38.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: I was expecting to see$700 on my credit card and it's not there.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Who who is it that's up on top that is gonna steal her money?
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Because that's exactly what it sounds like.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I get it.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: You might not have$700 right then and there to pay her out.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: That's that's a pretty common thing in a restaurant, especially with the.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Well, I didn't know.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: Well, you you have to like uh like till the money.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: So what happens, we would have a cash register that we would use, and after I we would do it, it's called a drop.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: So after$200, we would put$200 in a back and it would go through a slot and it went to like some safe or something.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: But now people don't really carry cash.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: No, usually it's on card.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: I thought though those would show up like digitally in your check or something like that if it was, you know, were non-cash.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: I I guess I never thought of the back end of this.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, no, no, no.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: You so they have to pay you out your tips for the night.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: So what would happen is uh we would all stand in line.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: This is so cattle cattle-like, but we would stand in line and our manager Eric would hand us all.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: He's like, Okay, you got cashed out.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: You you we you print a receipt, and the receipt would say, like, okay, Allie made$138 in tips tonight, and he would give you$138 in tips.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: So I can understand if there wasn't$700 on hand that day.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: Well, make the agreement then and say, hey, we're gonna have to go to the bank and actually get this.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: So we'll get it for you by tomorrow.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: But it sounds like they were trying to pocket her$700 because they fired her when she came back the next day.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: The way you're describing it now, I absolutely agree.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: So how does she get her$700?
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: At this point, which I'm so glad this has gone viral, I assume somebody from the higher up and even the customer complaining saying, I'm expecting a$700 fee on my card.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So with the customer's help, thank God, then I think that she's gonna get her money because of the case.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: Thank God that customer wrote something because I would have immediately gone to that was a mistake.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: But if this didn't go viral, I don't know if she would have ever sold her money.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: No, I don't think she would have.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: I think you're right.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: Whether whether it was somebody further up that because you're right.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: It where would it go?
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: It's going somewhere and somebody's getting something.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, somebody's pocketing.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: I hope she gets offered her job back and the person that fired her gets fired.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't even want it at this point.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Nah, you're right.
