Transcript
- 0:52None. What's up everybody?
- 0:59It's your boy Keith, and I am back.
- 1:01It is Thursday. You know what time it is?
- 1:03It's time for the weekly ritual. Ghost Colts rock and metal news
- 1:06show everywhere all over the web.
- 1:08The best experience for this is usually Facebook, YouTube,
- 1:12Twitch and Instagram, but I'm hanging out on TikTok.
- 1:16Pitch Black North is here. Transnister is here.
- 1:18Hello. Hello.
- 1:19Hello. Thanks for being here.
- 1:21You could use to watch anybody's show, but if you're watching me,
- 1:25I'm grateful. Seems kind of a mess up here.
- 1:29But anyway, getting out of Dodge soon, late on a Thursday, doing
- 1:35the damn thing. That's what we do here.
- 1:37That's all we do here. How's everybody doing?
- 1:40It's a spooky season. There's a lot of crazy shit
- 1:43going on in the music world. Alden and King Snake Jake is
- 1:47back. My girlfriend would like to know
- 1:52why I am so gorgeous looking on my live streams.
- 1:54I think it's the lighting is very kind to be honest, Melissa,
- 1:59the lighting is good. I do best under soft beautiful
- 2:03lighting. I look the nicest but thank you.
- 2:06I appreciate you so wild shit going on lots to talk about.
- 2:12Let's unpack the show for you. We do all the departments and
- 2:16recap you on what you have missed.
- 2:18Let us bring in the deck and rocking these Halloween themed
- 2:23images all week long, all month long.
- 2:26This is the best time of the year.
- 2:28I don't really want to think about the holidays until after
- 2:33November 1st. I like to enjoy Halloween as
- 2:36much as humanly possible. Every day is Halloween if you
- 2:38try hard enough and I just don't want to think about the
- 2:42holidays. Poppy put out a banger cover for
- 2:45Christmas already and I'm like, yeah, it's still October.
- 2:49I don't care about Christmas yet.
- 2:50Yet, you know, anyway, we always start these shows off with the
- 2:57announcements and thank you, dear.
- 2:59And we have some heavy ones. You know, we're still kind of
- 3:04reeling from the death of Ace Freely last week.
- 3:08Yeah. Ghost cult turn 13.
- 3:10We're still doing some celebrations and libations.
- 3:14Last few hours to enter our giveaway for tickets to see the
- 3:18cult Death, cult failure and patriarchy in LA.
- 3:21And this is probably the last show before the band goes on a
- 3:25very extended hiatus, if not maybe permanently.
- 3:29We'll see. I have more to discuss and put
- 3:31out a statement I'll bring to you later.
- 3:34But again, yeah, the loss of Ace Freely has just hurt me so much.
- 3:37Right after Ozzie and Brett Hines and a bunch of other
- 3:40people. John Lodge.
- 3:42We also lost Sam Rivers of Limp Bizkit.
- 3:44I think people knew he was unwell, but not as bad off.
- 3:50I don't think the reporting of that was done especially well by
- 3:52my peers in the scene. But you know, I'm going to do
- 3:55what I do with some ethics and some care because you never know
- 3:59if his family is finding out last or whatever.
- 4:02But rest to Sam, Rest in peace to Sam Rivers.
- 4:05What a definite shame that he passed away of 48 too young,
- 4:09between cancer probably and his liver and kidney problems from
- 4:14his years of drinking and Anthony Jackson, one of the
- 4:17greatest bassists to ever do the damn thing.
- 4:20He's also on the several of my favorite jazz albums of all
- 4:23time. He's also played countless
- 4:25commercials. He is was really a wonder on the
- 4:31bass instrument. Just very sad that he is gone.
- 4:36Also, this one kind of took me by surprise.
- 4:38This was sent to me. This one kind of caught me off
- 4:46guard. I won't lie.
- 4:50Where's my notes? I'm sorry.
- 4:51Here we go. Yeah.
- 4:53So this is Virginia Lily, who is like the Australian Pat Benatar.
- 4:59Hard Rock, female singer, long time artist.
- 5:02She also succumbed to a battle with cancer.
- 5:05Very sad. And then this one also kind of
- 5:08got me. You know, Glenn Leferman is a
- 5:11photographer from the LA area. You've probably seen his work
- 5:14shooting the greatest bands in heavy metal and rock and punk
- 5:18rock and was really known for his St. photography in the
- 5:23Sunset Strip and, you know, Roxy and the Rainbow era.
- 5:30James of the song, What's up? I am out of San Francisco
- 5:34personally, but Ghost Cult is a worldwide collective.
- 5:38Writers, photographers, you know, this is what we do.
- 5:42We do this all over the world. We are not corporate backed.
- 5:44So I'll drop the tip menu in a second if you want to give us
- 5:48some tips for good service. We appreciate it.
- 5:52And on to the happier things. Birthdays this week include
- 5:57Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, who is 61, Dan Lilker
- 6:02of Nuclear Assault and SOD and a bunch of other Total fucking
- 6:05Destruction, and a bunch of other bands also in his 60s.
- 6:10Tom Petty would have been 75 this week.
- 6:12This is an adorable photo his daughter posted of them on
- 6:15swings. Sam Loeffler of Chevelle had a
- 6:22birthday this week. Mitch Lucker would have
- 6:25celebrated birthday. The original Suicide Silence
- 6:28singer and vocalist. I interviewed him once for a
- 6:31different website and he was super nice, so I'm very sad that
- 6:35he met an untimely demise. Alden Morris passing by a ghost
- 6:40cultist. Look forward to working with you
- 6:42again soon, my friend. Also, Gerald Jennifer of Bad
- 6:47Brain celebrated a birthday yesterday.
- 6:49Arguably the greatest bassist in punk rock, Weird Al Yankovic
- 6:53celebrates her birthday this week.
- 6:54All these all this Libra activity as well as Scorpio to
- 6:59follow and Nick Oliveri, formerly of Queens of the Stone
- 7:03Age and Caius and a bunch of other bands.
- 7:05Joe Marquez is here what up what up Nick Oliveri great guy be a
- 7:10very interesting guest for dinner at your house and and one
- 7:14of my favorite drummers of all time, Dale Crover of Melbourne's
- 7:17and his solo work celebrated her birthday this week.
- 7:20He's also, I think, 61 all right, with a little different
- 7:26approach. Some albums celebrating
- 7:29anniversaries this week include Soul Fly, Ritual, Ghosts, debut
- 7:34Opus, Eponymous, Defiance, The Prophecy.
- 7:37Love this one Slipknots five, the Grey chapter after Paul Gray
- 7:42passed away and Death human easily my favorite death album.
- 7:46I love all these albums. To be honest with you, not that
- 7:49many this week. So I condensed it down a little
- 7:52bit to save time. What else is happening this
- 7:55week? All right, let's just in case
- 7:58you want to drop us some tips to you know, we'll always answer
- 8:02your questions for free. But if you'd like to support us,
- 8:05we appreciate it. Here is what we offer and I
- 8:11think I raised the price on that rate.
- 8:13Your song live is 25. And again, my preference is for
- 8:17you all to join me on YouTube where it's easiest for me to do
- 8:21that. But if you DM me your music, if
- 8:23you have a band, Mark Badger is back.
- 8:25What up? What up?
- 8:26Hell if you DM me your music or at least your your account on on
- 8:31TikTok. I will follow you.
- 8:33It's easier for me to do this, play a song live on the air on
- 8:37the show from one of the YouTube channels we have.
- 8:40And so, yeah, I'm, I'm appreciative of anybody that
- 8:43wants to support us. Again, not family, not friends,
- 8:46nobody that works for me, but anybody else.
- 8:48We do this, it's a lot of work. We do this all over the world.
- 8:53We put in a lot of hours and time to do this.
- 8:56Like I was, you know, not to disparage anybody.
- 8:59I had a hopefully Maiden announces more than 12 shows.
- 9:03We're going to talk about that Mark, because it's very
- 9:05interesting. Foo Fighters 2 announced the
- 9:07tour. We'll talk about that.
- 9:09Like not that many dates. I don't kind of know what
- 9:11they're what the logic is there. It's very expensive to come tour
- 9:14and only play, you know, 2 handfuls of shows.
- 9:17But if you feel like tipping, we appreciate it and here's our
- 9:21cash app. That's that's my cash app lately
- 9:23is the thing that I've been getting a lot of hits on plus
- 9:25super likes and super thanks on the tube of you.
- 9:29Thanks for everybody watching. All right features this week
- 9:32here at Ghost Cult. We dropped two premieres today.
- 9:36One was the Chicago Post grunge band Lavisher, and they have a
- 9:40new album coming out and they dropped the new single with us
- 9:43today. And I thought, you know, this is
- 9:45a really good band, sort of a DIY Chicago area band.
- 9:51And what a cool, what a cool song.
- 9:55Like very unexpected. Lots of different flavors
- 9:58happening in the band. And then also so Lavishere's new
- 10:03song is detached. And then we did a premiere for
- 10:06the German black metal band De Rote Milan.
- 10:09I believe that is how you say it.
- 10:11I hope I am not wrong. And their new single Aust Dare
- 10:15Finner Stearns, their new album is coming out soon out in
- 10:19Europe. So we shared those things today
- 10:22and very exciting about them. I've been doing live streams.
- 10:26I did a few this week, obviously yesterday we went live and
- 10:31premiered. Tuesday we went live and recap
- 10:34the entire sick New World, the entire Sick New World show like
- 10:41announcement, which we'll talk about a little bit in a minute.
- 10:43But if you want an in depth analysis of both sick New World
- 10:47Las Vegas and Sick New World Texas, and if it's going to be
- 10:49worth it for you to go watch that video next, of course, you
- 10:54can watch that video by liking and subscribing and finding out
- 10:56whenever we go live here on the channel.
- 10:58Also every week the rest of October and November, we are
- 11:02going to be announcing 2 new bands every Monday at 2:00 PM
- 11:06Pacific, 5:00 PM Eastern, whatever time overnight in
- 11:09Europe, probably 1:00 AM in London.
- 11:11And we're going to be announcing bands for the debut inaugural
- 11:14Amazing Mojave Experience Festival taking place in Joshua
- 11:18Tree March 20th and 21st. Very likely you will see my face
- 11:23there with a little crew of ghost cultures.
- 11:26I've never been to Joshua Tree. I would like to go not because I
- 11:29like you too, because I don't, but just be seem fun to go.
- 11:32Seems like a beautiful place and a beautiful place to hear music
- 11:35interviews. This week we ran our new
- 11:38interview with the Ekastius Trains, Devin Schittaker.
- 11:40We've interviewed him before. New album You Are Safe from God
- 11:43here out tomorrow, this weekend on Ryze Records.
- 11:47I've listened to it, it fucking kills.
- 11:49It's so good. Also also, my new interview with
- 11:54Dave Davidson of Revocation. Long time favorite of Ghost
- 11:56Called. Not really supposed to have
- 11:58favorites or play favorites, but I can't lie, I spent a lot of
- 12:01time with this guy. He is a Wizard of death metal
- 12:04guitar. He's also a genius jazz
- 12:06guitarist and you know, jazz maybe you know low key jazz
- 12:11historian. He and I have had nerd out
- 12:13sessions before talking a lot of stuff.
- 12:15So check out my new interview with those guys.
- 12:18A lot of brutality this week in the interview section.
- 12:20More stuff coming soon to the YouTube and podcasts.
- 12:24Also the glacierly musical podcast beer metal and swearing.
- 12:28We finally got the gang back together.
- 12:30All three hosts were there, the host and the two Co hosts and we
- 12:33poured one out for Ace. I did a last Friday.
- 12:36I did a little tribute to ACE with my buddy Ken Pierce, the
- 12:40Piercing Medal, and then Don, Nick and I did our usual show
- 12:45with a lengthy discussion about Ace.
- 12:47I thought we did a really nice job paying tribute to the guy.
- 12:52Anyway, again, I mentioned earlier it's your last chance to
- 12:56win tickets to see the Cult in LA.
- 12:59This is probably it for them. Scooters here.
- 13:01What up pal, Good to see you. Good to see you.
- 13:05The cult sounds like they are hanging it up for a long time
- 13:08after this it it may be forever, but they have been going for
- 13:11three straight years as a touring entity.
- 13:13So you know, anyway, metal festivals and of course we're
- 13:16starting with sick New World and I'll end begin this a little bit
- 13:19for your benefit. I have these posters backwards
- 13:23but Texas is taking place this time next year, exactly a year
- 13:28from now. System of the Down, Deftone,
- 13:30Slayer, Evanescence, Manson, Prodigy, Knock Loose, Mastodon,
- 13:34Power Trip, bunch of other bands.
- 13:35Sick New World Vegas is still going to take place in late
- 13:38April. System of Down, Corn, Bring Me
- 13:40the Horizon, and a rare American festival performance.
- 13:43Evanescence, Marilyn Manson, Knock Loose, Cypress Hill,
- 13:46Mastodon, Filter, and a bunch of others that that Texas show also
- 13:52has Down, Acid Bath and Clutch. Wow and failure, pretty fucking
- 13:58rad. And Melvins and Health and
- 14:02corporate Brew and Kitty, both of them have Kitty.
- 14:04So anyway, check out our very in depth video on that.
- 14:08Our time millimeter just passed by.
- 14:10Love y'all good to see y'all new music.
- 14:12Hopefully hoping for some new music.
- 14:14So in addition to the Iron Maiden tour that we were just
- 14:19talking about, Mark, it's confirmed now.
- 14:23I was like looking at the dates, Louisville, KY, September 20th.
- 14:26So Iron Maiden is going to headline Louder Than Life in
- 14:29Kentucky in September and then we're going to talk about the
- 14:34rest of their tour, which is probably very brief for me, very
- 14:38brief. Again, Mojave Experience.
- 14:40We're now up to 8 bands announced for the festival with
- 14:43many more to come. TuneIn next Monday and we will
- 14:47share some more with you. All right, also also welcome The
- 14:54Rockville has announced a bunch more bands including The
- 14:56Offspring and Rise Against, who have a pretty cool new album.
- 15:00I didn't love The Offspring's new album.
- 15:03Is this a concert? It's a charity event.
- 15:05It's kind of got a festival looking line up this Sunday,
- 15:10October 26th in Los Angeles above ground four at the Fonda
- 15:13Theater. 2 iconic albums being performed in their entirety with
- 15:17an All Star band and special guest live on stage performing
- 15:21the New York Dolls at the Cars. Corey Taylor, Billy Idol.
- 15:25What does Corey Taylor think? DMC what up?
- 15:27Rick Springfield, Sully Erna of God's mag, Elliot Easton of the
- 15:31cars is very reclusive and doesn't come out much.
- 15:33Stevie Stevens. Billy Morrison, Uno Bettencourt
- 15:36of Extreme. Josh freeze of Nine Inch Nails,
- 15:38B Real of Cypress Hill. Billy Howardell of a perfect
- 15:41circle, Junkins of a perfect circle.
- 15:43Scott Shriner of Weezer. Gilby Clark, Fred Corey of
- 15:47Cinderella. Just see the devil hues of
- 15:49Eagles of Death and a bunch more.
- 15:52H is in there. Frankie Perez is in there.
- 15:55Pretty cool. Pretty cool.
- 15:57This this looks really good. If you are in the LA area and
- 15:59you want to support a good cause for charity, go check this shit
- 16:02out. The nation festival's around the
- 16:04corner, Corrosion, conformity, napalm death, pertubator, deaf
- 16:07heaven, amenra or big culture High On Fire.
- 16:10The haunted hellfest. Not the Hellfest in France, but
- 16:14the hardcore Hellfest that also there's some beef about that
- 16:18name. Well, we already know that
- 16:20Hellfest W is coming this February.
- 16:22Hellfest EI guess or Hellfest prime or Hellfest just will be
- 16:27taking place July 3rd, 4th and 5th in New Jersey.
- 16:32So that's pretty cool. We have some more trust Kill
- 16:36Records news later. All right, that's the brief look
- 16:39at concerts and the brief look at festivals.
- 16:41And now on to the concerts. So Rush originally announced
- 16:45like 10 shows and then they announced 15 more shows and then
- 16:49they announced 17 more shows. So understandably, a lot of
- 16:53people who bought tickets for those first dates that thought,
- 16:55oh, I better shell out a lot of money because I'm not going to
- 16:59get these tickets. Now there's a lot of opportunity
- 17:01to see these bands. And I suspect a lot of these
- 17:04tickets are going to hit the resale market closer to the show
- 17:07on like, you know, game time app or StubHub.
- 17:11And it's going to be a lot of angry people that pay like 600
- 17:14for the floor and 50 for upstairs.
- 17:17So, you know, I love Rush. I want I want them to do well.
- 17:20I think this is a dry run for other things.
- 17:24Those two guys didn't, you know, want to lose their career
- 17:27because their best friend in their drummer died.
- 17:30I don't have a problem with them coming back.
- 17:31I don't have a problem with, unfortunately, they're in bed
- 17:34with Tickyman. So like everybody else, you
- 17:36never feel confident. You know what, I've had a very
- 17:38good experience with game time for both sports and for music.
- 17:45DJ Crimson. So I'm going to tell you that,
- 17:49yeah, I absolutely, I absolutely think those are reputable.
- 17:54But I understand if you've had a personal bad experience too.
- 17:57OK, moving on. Just saw Judas Priest and Alice
- 18:01Cooper last week. Our coverage of this tour is
- 18:05coming tomorrow morning to the site.
- 18:08There are just a few dates left in the tour.
- 18:11Austin to Austin and Houston. So basically Saturday and
- 18:17Sunday. Yeah, no worries.
- 18:21No worries. DJ Crimson, no worries.
- 18:22I wouldn't steer you wrong. I have nothing to gain.
- 18:24Thank you so much for liking the live.
- 18:27And if you guys like rock and metal news and interviews with
- 18:30bands and all kinds of fun, cool things, give us a subscribe.
- 18:33And you like Iron Maiden. So here's this tour 12345678
- 18:419/10/11 dates plus Louisville 12.
- 18:46That is a very short run of dates for a world tour for the
- 18:50North American tour and they are doing Mexico this winter.
- 18:54But like, it's a lot of money to do a big tour like this and I'm
- 18:59super pumped. Megadeth and Anthrax, although
- 19:02kind of with the Anthrax new album coming out, I sincerely
- 19:05hope Anthrax is going to do a real proper headline tour.
- 19:08They have not really done a headline tour with two openers
- 19:11in a long time. And I don't really, I want a
- 19:13long set from Anthrax and I'm not really crazy about a, you
- 19:18know, I'm not really crazy about half 1/2 an hour of Anthrax.
- 19:22Not enough for me as a huge Anthrax fan.
- 19:24But you know, it's a great looking tour and these these
- 19:27shows are going to be insanely in demand from Iron Maiden's
- 19:32debut to Fear of the Dark, so it should be very interesting.
- 19:34Nothing after the year to 1992 is going to be played.
- 19:41That's fucking rad if you love Iron Maiden.
- 19:44Old school set of hits. Mudvayne is wrapping up their
- 19:47tour this weekend. I'm hopeful we're going to cover
- 19:50them in Boston. Not 100% sure, but I think we
- 19:53will would like to get this tour covered with Static X invented.
- 19:57If not, we'll catch them on the next one.
- 19:58I still Ghost Cult broke the news that Mudvayne was reuniting
- 20:02and touring and we I personally, we've covered them, but I
- 20:05haven't been able to go see them personally.
- 20:07So that's a bummer. Foo Fighters also announced A
- 20:11brief tour today and again, like maybe it's just financially not
- 20:16viable. I know they have a new album
- 20:17coming up and I know they have, you know, a lot of new things,
- 20:20but here's the Foo Fighters stadium tour.
- 20:23Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Philly, Nashville, DC
- 20:29Fargo, Regina, Canada, Edmonton, AB, Vancouver, BC, Las Vegas.
- 20:37So maybe they're going to add more dates, more shows to come
- 20:41as well. Keep an eye out, but not a lot
- 20:42of dates, not a lot of confidence.
- 20:45Yeah, absolutely, man. I mean, I I saw Iron Maiden and
- 20:49Anthrax many, many times. Anthrax, probably one of the
- 20:51bands I've seen the most over 30 times.
- 20:53I'm from New York City. I have a lot of opportunities to
- 20:55see them. Maiden I've seen quite a bit,
- 20:57and I always love them and they always put on a great show.
- 21:00And Megadeth will bring it because it's their farewell.
- 21:03You know, Megadeth in the middle slot should be pretty solid for
- 21:06like 45 minutes. And I think that, you know, 45
- 21:09minutes to 55 minutes, maybe almost an hour, but very, very
- 21:14solid, Very solid. So Foo Fighters, also new stuff
- 21:17with them. Dream Theater.
- 21:18We're covering the Dream Theater show tonight in upstate New York
- 21:23in the Albany area of the Parasomnia and Evening with
- 21:26Dream Theater should be a fantastic show.
- 21:29Await the coverage for that next week or the week after Russian
- 21:33Circles is announced. A European spring and summer
- 21:35tour with Pelican, including festivals like Desert Fest, the
- 21:40Dunk Festival, Desert Fest Berlin.
- 21:43So Desert Fest Oslo, Desert Fest Berlin and a few others.
- 21:47So that that's really cool. Love both those bands.
- 21:51Ithaca, Yeah. Just about Bay Way has been on
- 21:56the road since some of that Biohazard tour got cancelled.
- 22:01They are picking back up with the tour tonight in Pontiac, MI,
- 22:04so that show is probably already underway.
- 22:07And then Montreal, Toronto, Brooklyn, which we may cover,
- 22:10Worcester, Allentown, Sayreville and New Haven, CT.
- 22:15So that's pretty exciting. Better Lovers is on tour in the
- 22:23UK and Europe. Very exciting for that.
- 22:25Bon Jovi announced the big tour today.
- 22:28Not that many shows also. And you know, Bon Jovi, Jon Bon
- 22:32Jovi's been having hearing problems and voice problems.
- 22:35So I hope we don't have another Gene's addiction situation on
- 22:38our hands where he can't hear himself and the band is getting
- 22:41louder and louder. I do The Elves is back.
- 22:43What's up? So, you know, I just I just
- 22:46worry about. But big year for Bon Jovi new
- 22:49album, recent deluxe edition of their album Coffee Table Book.
- 22:54I'm still trying to get my hands on it.
- 22:55FedEx is kind of killing me with this, but yeah, very, you know,
- 22:59Bon Jovi fans get excited. I don't know that Bon Jovi is
- 23:03going to do 10 more years of this.
- 23:04I could see 5 or less. John Tate is doing his final
- 23:10four of Queens Reich ministerial operation Mind crime.
- 23:13The final chapter is kicking off in just a few weeks in Salt Lake
- 23:16City. Beverly Hills has a show that's
- 23:20weird. Roseville, Fresno, San Juan
- 23:22Capistrano a lot of a lot of California, mostly Southern
- 23:26California. Oh well.
- 23:29But yeah, looking forward to that this again these shows
- 23:31coming up in December bleeding through God forbid darkest hour
- 23:35and Nora at Wally's Holy hell, holy hell Pussifer.
- 23:42We have a new pussifer song and album.
- 23:44The Normal Isn't tour was announced with opening guest
- 23:47Dave Hill. Brenda Ghost Cult would love for
- 23:50him to hang out with us for a while for maybe.
- 23:53So that's going to be fun and new pussy for selling kind of
- 23:56rips. We'll talk about that in a
- 23:57second. Today is the day never give in
- 24:00tours coming soon. Very exciting for that Masters
- 24:04of the Holy. RIP Atomic bitch reaction.
- 24:06Crowbot are kicking off their new tour tomorrow night in
- 24:09Syracuse. Well Speaking of Trust Kill,
- 24:12Walls of Jericho has booked a handful of shows around their
- 24:15appearance at the Headbangers boat coming up soon.
- 24:19We get Lamb of God, check out Oceans run Black, that sounds
- 24:23cool. Give us Adm there and I will
- 24:25check out the band. My friend and I think Walls of
- 24:29Jericho also has like some first time ever on vinyls put out by
- 24:33Trust Kill so that's kind of fresh.
- 24:34Hopefully they have them to sell at least at the local shows.
- 24:42I have always liked Walls of Jericho.
- 24:45Paradise Lost continues their ascension tour with Mesa and
- 24:49High Parasite. Our review of this is already
- 24:52live. What else?
- 24:55Helmet Dwarves? Blood vulture on tour?
- 24:58I'm going to miss this show in my town because I have other
- 25:01things I have to do, but I'm hoping we're going to cover this
- 25:04later in the tour this week perhaps Iron Maiden the pooper?
- 25:07Thanks to Don de Lamont for sending this to me.
- 25:10I have some Dawn related news coming soon.
- 25:14Again, if you feel like feeling tipsy, feel free to give us some
- 25:18tips. Show us some love.

- 26:32We have a link tree that we update daily with the latest
- 26:34stories and the biggest stories of the day.
- 26:37That is all the festivals and concert tours.
- 26:40Now for a quick blast of all the news, rumors and drama this
- 26:44week, Ozzy Osbourne has another best time New York Times
- 26:48bestseller, right. It was talking about this last
- 26:52week that it was probably going to land on the bestseller list.
- 26:54It did. So Last Rites by Ozzy is a New
- 26:59York Times bestseller yet again. Also at the Ozzy Osbourne
- 27:03Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery with the Working Working
- 27:07Class Hero exhibition about Ozzy in his hometown.
- 27:11They have the ultra rare Ozzy Osbourne shell toe Adidas.
- 27:16Maybe they're not shell toe, but they're the black with the
- 27:18purple for the colors of Ashton Villa and Black Sabbath.
- 27:21These are apparently some of the rarest sneakers in the world.
- 27:23They were never really sold to the public.
- 27:25They were only made for like 300 pairs ever.
- 27:29So that's Ozzy's pair. I think lot of comments and
- 27:34commentary on Metallica's performance last week at
- 27:37Dreamforce. Some people are saying they were
- 27:40there and they had an incredible time.
- 27:42Other people are like, yo, it was a whole sea of non Metallica
- 27:45fans. You know, it was a corporate
- 27:47event. It's a corporate convention that
- 27:51Metallica plays. They have a long time
- 27:52partnership with Salesforce here in the Bay Area.
- 27:54Not a big fan of their company, but you know it is what it is.
- 28:01Axl Rose is back to being Axl Rose.
- 28:03Hopefully this means we're going to get some more kick ass music
- 28:05from Guns and Roses at some point.
- 28:07Apparently he was having a inner ear monitor malfunctions and
- 28:11threw a complete fucking hissy fit meltdown on stage during his
- 28:15recent concert. He absolutely kicked Isaac
- 28:20Carpenter's drum and tossed his microphone into the drum kit.
- 28:24Not particularly mad at Isaac, it's kind of very unprofessional
- 28:27behavior. But I know that Axel, when his
- 28:31situation is not to his liking, he gets kind of pissy.
- 28:35And then they put out a statement today.
- 28:36Like obviously we love Isaac, he's been great.
- 28:39We are just mad at the sound myth is fucking awesome.
- 28:44The brand new Prime Minister of Japan, who for the first time
- 28:47Japan has a female Prime Minister.
- 28:50I believe this is Tanake Jakaki, I hope I said that correctly.
- 28:54She is a huge metal head and was a metal drummer in her younger
- 28:58days and listens to metal. So Japan just got 100% more
- 29:02metal? That is fucking rad.
- 29:05I'm into it. Speaking of Trust Kill, if you
- 29:08were a fan of soundtracks like Saw, the Saw 6 soundtrack is
- 29:12getting a vinyl re release for an anniversary edition for the
- 29:1615th anniversary of Saw Six and the vinyl looks like Saw Blades.
- 29:20That is fucking cool. I don't know how much it is but
- 29:24it's got my interest piqued. Plus for again, their new album
- 29:28Normal isn't just coming out soon and they said that it's
- 29:31going to be a much more guitar orientated album while also
- 29:34leaning into the bands like post punk and goth, you know, vibes
- 29:38as opposed to maybe some of the synthy synth wave and pop sort
- 29:42of dream pop that they've been doing.
- 29:44But hard because that's pussifer.
- 29:46They go hard. But I'm really excited based on
- 29:48that first track, self-evident and looking forward to this
- 29:52record coming out in February. We're already getting the
- 29:54announcements of the 2026 albums already shaping up to be a
- 29:57banger of the year. Another Tres Kyle band,
- 29:59Shattered Realm has some first times on vinyl.
- 30:02Pretty cool. Dave McLean, one of my favorite
- 30:05drummers of all time. I just saw it last week with
- 30:07Dark Angel is now out of sacred, right?
- 30:10Sacred right put out a statement.
- 30:11It was pretty so the point and terse as we say.
- 30:15They do have a backup drummer coming on Edward Baldo for to
- 30:18play the tour with Hate Breed in a couple of days.
- 30:21And then Dave put out a statement today like I love
- 30:24performing for you. I'll be back.
- 30:25I just I'm not in that band anymore.
- 30:28So that kind of sucks, huh? I love that guy.
- 30:31Dave McLean, formerly of Machine Head and now once again formerly
- 30:33of Sacred, here's Jon Bon Jovi. Speaking of Jon Bon Jovi just
- 30:37hanging out at the No Kings protests in Philadelphia.
- 30:40Pretty rad to see. You know, Jon Bon Jovi's not a
- 30:43billionaire, but he's like at least 100 millionaire, right?
- 30:45And he's at the No Kings protesters hanging out with
- 30:47people. And someone saw him and I was
- 30:49like, hey, I want you, Jon Bon Jovi.
- 30:50And he was like, yes, I am. He's a little runaway.
- 30:54I'm kidding. Hey, if you watch some of our
- 30:58other podcasts or seen some of our interviews on our YouTube in
- 31:01a podcast, you know my buddy Don de Lamont, he is actually
- 31:04putting out an incredible album of dark folk in Americana.
- 31:08One of the lucky things about Ghost Cult is because we are
- 31:12don't have rock in our name or metal something we can kind of
- 31:16cover whatever we want to do. So if you like Marissa Nadler
- 31:19and Amigo the Devil and Nick Cave in the Bad Seeds, you might
- 31:23dig this record from Dawn. So yeah, check it out.
- 31:28Jeff, DFW is here. What up?
- 31:30What up? Yeah.
- 31:32Check out Don's new single Drop today.
- 31:34And he's got pre-orders at Band Camp and Ampwall.
- 31:37Also, not necessarily something you come to go call for, but
- 31:41there is a 25th anniversary edition coming out of Brian
- 31:46Wilson of The Beach Boys live at the Roxy Theater.
- 31:49Now. This live album really put him
- 31:54back in the game as far as being a touring musician, you know,
- 31:59kind of acrimony between him and the rest of The Beach Boys was
- 32:02something very real. I'm very sad that Brian was ill
- 32:05and passed away earlier this year, but this album is fresh
- 32:09and it has kind of like Brian solo stuff, stuff he was
- 32:12inspired by and influenced by, as well as all The Beach Boys
- 32:16classics, and it really gave him the confidence to come back out.
- 32:19So I'm hoping to pick this up at some point or have them send it
- 32:22to me. Just a little bit of movie
- 32:26minutiae for you. I saw Tron Legacy Tron Aries
- 32:29last night. Sorry.
- 32:30Tron Legacy was 15 years ago. Tron Aries was fucking awesome.
- 32:33I might do a review of it on the channel alongside the soundtrack
- 32:37review. I thought it was great.
- 32:39I know it's doing bad at the movies and it may not get a
- 32:41sequel, but it seemed like they were setting up future sequels
- 32:45with Jared Leto and the cast. And also coming out this week is
- 32:49Springsteen, Deliver Me from Nowhere, which is the biography
- 32:53of the early, you know, pre Nebraska Springsteen, Born to
- 33:00Run and all that stuff. Jungle Land, all those songs
- 33:02came from there. And yeah, Jeremy Allen, White of
- 33:08the Bear and formerly of the TV show, the American version of
- 33:11Shameless is the star as the young Springsteen.
- 33:14It also features a pretty great cast, so I am interested in
- 33:19seeing this at some point this weekend.
- 33:21I'm not the biggest, like I love Bruce, but I'm not the biggest
- 33:24die hard Bruce fan. I'm from New York, I love Billy
- 33:26Joel, but Bruce is cool. He's got some great songs.
- 33:30And that is all the news I whipped through that we're about
- 33:33to run to the end of the show. We've got just a few more things
- 33:36to discuss and one of the things we're going to discuss is the
- 33:38new albums out this week for New Music Friday.
- 33:41Every week we do a video preview of the new records you need to
- 33:45pick up and spend and you can check it out on all our socials,
- 33:48but it's usually on YouTube and our website.
- 33:50Tomorrow we'll have a post on our website with those albums
- 33:54with by links. So this is where you can get.
- 33:57Here's all the records coming out this weekend.
- 33:59I'm going to do band the title, the label if they have one and a
- 34:02little commentary if that helps you.

- 37:59We're going to do the mailbag and what is in the mailbag re
- 38:03Big and me and this week in the mailbag.
- 38:06This is really cool. If you've been a fan of the
- 38:08channel, there's an artist I'm a huge fan of named Joey Diabolic.
- 38:11Joey is originally from the Hudson Valley region in upstate
- 38:15New York. He lived in LA for a while.
- 38:17He's a solo artist, graphic designer, metal guy.
- 38:21He's done an array of covers as diverse as John Carpenter,
- 38:25horror movie soundtracks, Type O Negative, you know, just
- 38:29incredible stuff. And he has actually put together
- 38:32a brand new magazine called HV Scene and Beyond, and this is
- 38:37the debut issue. She sent me a bunch.
- 38:39I maybe, you know, if you check out Joey Diabolic on YouTube and
- 38:43on Facebook and things, you can order this from him.
- 38:46But if you're interested, I have a bunch of copies, so maybe I
- 38:48will give them away if people ask for enough interest.
- 38:52It's photography, interviews, just very cool looking magazine.
- 38:56Ghost Cult started as Zen in much the same way.
- 38:58So I'm always very respectful. And yeah, shout out to Joey for
- 39:04putting this together and making this.
- 39:05I'm really proud of him. DJ Crimson, DM us and if you
- 39:10want to share your address, we'll send you a little care

- 39:32I understand not every, I'm not for everybody.
- 39:35And with that out of the way, that's the end of the show.
- 39:37I am TV Ghost cultman.com. We will be back on Monday with
