- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey friend, welcome back to Bible Tract Echoes.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Mike and we're curing your host.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for tuning in once again today.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to ask you if you wouldn't go to the book of Psalms Psalms one.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is the end of a two week series.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: This is actually a tenth and final broadcast in this series for now.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: Psalm one only six verses there.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: I let you read them if you'd like to.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm going to give you a quick explanation for an illustration.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to use in just a moment.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: I refer to actually what you're going to hear in just a moment is me preaching a message that I preached at my home church.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is the last part of the last of the series, a three-part series.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: I did in Psalms one and earlier in the series I referred to Flamingos and how they get their unique pink.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: coloring.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to understand it's from some shrimp or some sort of watery creature, water biting creature that they eat and it turns them pink.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: But if you want to understand, if they don't eat this pink, this crustacean or whatever it may be, that cause them turn pink, then they get a little more drab.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: They get gray.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to reference that here in just a moment.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: What you're going to hear is a recording of me.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: preaching this message.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: I preached that my home church and it was a blessing to me.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those things where sometimes you have a finger pointed out and there are three pointed back at the speaker.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you ever been there before, oftentimes the best messages I preach are the ones that hit me between the eyes, the hardest.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so I thought it might be a blessing to share on the radio as well this week.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to conclude stretches all the way back to
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: when I ask you to tune your hearts and minds if you miss the previous broadcasts.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to day, but then you can listen on demand, Bible-tracked echoes, just search Bible-tracked echoes on your favorite podcast player or in YouTube and you can find it there.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the question today.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Are you known by God?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Listen in.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: But look at verse 2 and verse 6.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: For the Lord, knoweth because the ungodly cannot stand and sinners will not be in the congregational righteous.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, he can figure out, we can put on our pink flamingo coats and fool everybody else, but the Lord knows for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: but the way of the ungodly shall perish that first phrase for the Lord, know what the way of the righteous, the Lord, while the ungodly face rejection, the Lord has respect for the righteous.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: To be known by God, second Timothy 219, the Lord, knoweth them that are his.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to a man yesterday, I think I know of you with me when we knocked on his door, a gentleman, I was considering by the knower for about,
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, three, five minutes.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to figure out, is this kind of worth my time?
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: So when I was, you've been there before, like, he's talking circles, and he's on all kinds of weird doctrine of stuff.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get to the next door, but he finally came up for air, and I got a chance to get into the gospel a little bit, and so we were talking.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: And it turned into a good conversation.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: And we were talking,
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: It seemed like he didn't quite understand baptism, didn't quite understand.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he certainly didn't seem to understand eternal security.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: I asked him, he said he went to a Baptist church within about 30 miles of here, 10s, once a month or so.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know how often you can go to church and to a Baptist church that has that name and be as wild on his doctrine as he might have been.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the first way to church or Dwight.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: I guarantee that.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: But as you talk, I said, so would you say that you know,
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's not for me to decide.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's up to God.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, he said, who's so overwhelmed?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: Have you accepted him or not?
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: I was almost getting a little frustrated with him.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully I hid that reasonably well, know it.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: But some of the banal things he was just throwing out there, but I said, oh, illustration, I could use this.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm walking you through a Walmart parking lot, we have to drive a whole 30 minutes to get there and never hold in there to drive 100 miles to get there.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: So we got things good here in Dwight.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: But if I'm walking through a Walmart parking lot with my girls, I don't stick my finger out for them to grab a hold of.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Because of some weirdo comes up, charge a grab on.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: They're six or eight.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: They don't, not how you're strong, right?
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: Or if they see something shiny over there, and they want to run over, they can let go anytime they want to.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: But God said, no man can pluck you out of my hand.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't give them.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: My think finger, I wrap my hand much larger, much stronger, now relative to God and nothing, but I wrap my hand because they both could try to take off like a team of wild horses, and they're not going anywhere that I don't want them to go, and this gentleman did not seem to understand that, but you realize the Lord know with them that are his.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: And the Bible says in the book of John chapter 10, in verse 27, my sheep hear my voice, and later on it says, and I know them.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: The Lord respects the righteous, he knows the righteous verse six.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: For the Lord, knoweth the way of the righteous, but as we conclude, the way of then Godly shall perish.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: The way of the end Godly, it leads to
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Rubin.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs 14, 12, there is a way which seem to write unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: See, what I found what we want, I've been talking about, you are what you eat and all of that, what we want is not a flamingo transformation, we want a caterpillar transformation.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: We want to gorge ourself on God.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: We want to give Him like this, this brief amount of time, gorge ourself.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then we think we're just going to curl up and then outcomes this beautiful butterfly.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, you're just going to be beautiful and everything's going to be wonderful.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: Rose, come and blast this for the rest of your days.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, every single, what do Paul say?
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: I, you want a caterpillar?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: You want the caterpillar?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I die daily.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're going to have to look yourself in the eye as I do me one finger porn out, three porn and back, and you're going to have to look yourself and go, uh, you're looking a little gray, not of shrimp in your diet.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're not really blending in with the other flamingos.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: How can that Christian, how can they handle, how can they, how can I talk to a pastor, Mitch Eastep?
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: This was a couple days.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: This was,
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: This would have been, hold on, five days.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Five days I talked to him before she woke up and said, I don't think I have cancer anymore.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Five days ago, I said, but he said, how you doing?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: He said, well, you know, people keep asking me.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: Are you guys overwhelmed?
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: Are you overcome?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: He said, no, God's mercies are new every morning.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: got enough just like the widow of Xerapheth.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: God didn't back up the brinks truck or the FedEx truck with barrels of meal and sacks of oil and sacks of meal.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, she woke up every day and just had enough for that day.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: For a man like that, can see his daughter-in-law dealing with something like that.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's son.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: Try them and marry for less than a year.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: They're coming up on a year here in August, I think.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: If he can deal with that, and then all the crushing weight of the weights of a pastor all that in addition to this going on, and he can say, we're not overwhelmed.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, death, where is your sting?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: Grave, where is your victory?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: You lost a long time ago, devil.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're just waiting for the final bell.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: The referee's just doing the 10 count and maybe just maybe Jesus wants to see how well we're going to do over the next little while here and maybe he's going to give us and who knows who the next president is going to be.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I can tell you, you don't need to be overwhelmed.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: If you get nothing else out of this message, eat more shrimp, that's what you need, all right?
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: Look more like a flamingo, no, no, seriously, what's your diet though?
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you wake up tomorrow morning feeling a little gray, a little drab, a little dreary,
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we would go back to, but his delight is in the law of the Lord.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: And in his law, death he meditate day and night.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't imagine the E-step family was reading less Scripture a few weeks ago than they were two months prior before she got that diagnosis.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: Why do we need a weight?
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying they did.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: But why do we need a weight to get those terrible news from the doctor?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Before we sing, I'm talking to myself here.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't we need a wait until we sink our nose into this book?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's known by what he doesn't do.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: Blessed is a man that does not.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's known by what he delights in.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's known by what he develops into.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: But there are also some dangers to be aware of.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: The ungodly are not so.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: I can't put a thermometer under your tongue and tell you.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Their fruits buy their fruits, you shall know them.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: And God's given our past to great discernment.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: The same time, you can fool anybody, but you can't fool God.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I wanted this evening, as you look at this first Saul, could you look at your life the past week, even?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: And say, I'm blessed, or would you say, not so.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: We need to reset.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: Going into another week, not so.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: But this week, this week's going to be different.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: This week's going to be blessed.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Every head about it, every eye closed.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, I wanted it today.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Are you known by God?
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: First number six of Psalms won for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the and Godly shall perish.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you were to die today, if you were to enter eternity, are you for sure you'd go?
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know the Bible tells us there are only four simple things you must understand.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: That will provoke a decision for us to be accepted into God's family.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's no good works we can do.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's by grace to faith, this gift of God, but you must understand that we are all sinners.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a sinner, you're a sinner.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the ungodly shall perish.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: That sounds like terrible news.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's the second thing.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Not only that we're sinners, but number two, we have to go to a place in a turning separated from God, a place that we call hell, because of our ungodliness, because of our wickedness.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: But then the good news starts.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus Christ paid the penalty for us.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: so that we could, as verses two and three talk about, he should be like a tree.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: The God they mentioned would be like a tree playing about the rivers of water.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: How does that happen?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: Not because of a geographical location, but because of being grafted into the family of God.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we're all sinners.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was a penalty for us.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: But Jesus Christ paid the penalty for us.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: and that prompts the fourth thing which is also a decision.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: We must accept the free gift of salvation.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: I can't force you to be saved.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: only you can make that decision.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you have questions about that today.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you'd have to pray and ask God to save you.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, would you mind reaching out to me?
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to hear from you.
