- 0:01Speaker 1: Nowor Presents No Mark Simon Show. Hey, so a lot
- 0:18Speaker 1: going on today. We'll get to crazy Stephen Colbert, he's
- 0:21Speaker 1: all upset. We'll get to the Epstein files, We'll get
- 0:24Speaker 1: to the the kidnapping. We'll get to President Trump. We'll
- 0:27Speaker 1: get to JFK Jr. Hey, it's four weeks until spring.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Four weeks until spring, and only two weeks until daylight
- 0:38Speaker 1: saving time. Two weeks and then it'll be light out
- 0:41Speaker 1: till six thirty six, fifteen, six thirty. So we'll get
- 0:46Speaker 1: to well, let's get to it right now, Mayor. Mom, Donnie,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you Democrats, you voted for this guy, You Democrats, you
- 0:53Speaker 1: stuck us with this, Mom Donnie. I guess he's a
- 0:57Speaker 1: nice guy, but he looks like a total in over
- 1:00Speaker 1: his head, incompetent, bungling kouk who has no idea what
- 1:04Speaker 1: to do. He is suddenly confronted with a twelve billion
- 1:10Speaker 1: dollar budget gap, and he said he can't believe it
- 1:14Speaker 1: that he finds out there's a twelve billion dollar budget gap.
- 1:17Speaker 1: He can't believe that this is all of a sudden
- 1:20Speaker 1: been discovered, this twelve billion dollar budget gap. What is
- 1:24Speaker 1: he talking about? Though everybody knew about this a year
- 1:26Speaker 1: ago too. You listen to Eric Adams a year and
- 1:28Speaker 1: a half ago.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Now we get people from all over the globe have
- 1:31Speaker 2: made their minds up that they're going to come through
- 1:34Speaker 2: the southern part of the border and come into New
- 1:36Speaker 2: York City. And everyone is saying, it's New York City's problem.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Every community in this city is going to be impacted.
- 1:45Speaker 2: We had a twelve billion dollar deficit that we're going
- 1:50Speaker 2: to have to cut. Every service in this city is
- 1:55Speaker 2: going to be impacted.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Well, there's Eric Adams telling you about this a year ago.
- 1:59Speaker 1: He told you have this and what was the cause?
- 2:01Speaker 1: As he pointed out illegals coming in draining city services. Illegals. So, Mom,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Donnie loves these illegals. He wants to be a sanctuary city.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So he's caused the budget gap with his policy. Now
- 2:17Speaker 1: he's complaining about it. So what do you do when
- 2:19Speaker 1: you have a twelve billion dollar budget gap? Well, you
- 2:22Speaker 1: cut services you have to. But he's not going to
- 2:26Speaker 1: do that. He wants to raise taxes. And if he
- 2:30Speaker 1: can't get that done, he doesn't have the power to
- 2:32Speaker 1: increase your taxes, but he can raise property tax. He's
- 2:35Speaker 1: talking about raising property tax ten percent. Now, that's horrible.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Property taxes are already crazy in New York. So to
- 2:44Speaker 1: raise him ten percent. And remember, if you're just renting
- 2:47Speaker 1: and you don't own, it still affects you. You'll have
- 2:50Speaker 1: a ten percent increase because of the property tax. Well,
- 2:54Speaker 1: actually won't be ten percent because the property tax is
- 2:56Speaker 1: only part of your rent, but you your rent will
- 2:59Speaker 1: go up. Every body's rent will increase with a property
- 3:02Speaker 1: tax increase. Now, wasn't this the guy that ran on
- 3:04Speaker 1: a free rent, frozen rent, no renting. He's old. He's
- 3:08Speaker 1: in office like five minutes. He's going to increase your rent.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It's just horrible. He doesn't know what to do. First
- 3:14Speaker 1: of all, the budget of New York City is like
- 3:17Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty billion a year. One hundred and
- 3:20Speaker 1: twenty billion a year. You know what the budget of
- 3:23Speaker 1: other cities the Chicago twelve billion a year. Cities you know, Boston,
- 3:29Speaker 1: Cleveland ten billion a year. Miami, which is a big,
- 3:33Speaker 1: big city, the budget's like eleven billion a year. New
- 3:37Speaker 1: York City budget one hundred and twenty billion a year.
- 3:40Speaker 1: That's more than the whole state of Florida. It's the
- 3:43Speaker 1: craziest budget. Now thirty billion of that is pension funds
- 3:46Speaker 1: we got to pay, but a lot of that is
- 3:50Speaker 1: just waste and fraud and bloat. If you brought in
- 3:52Speaker 1: a doze team, they could cut fifty billion out of
- 3:57Speaker 1: the budget in two seconds. It would be that simple
- 3:59Speaker 1: lot of waste, a lot of fraud. We overpay for everything.
- 4:03Speaker 1: We've got a million things we don't need to pay for.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You could cut the budget easily, and you could bring
- 4:08Speaker 1: down property tax if you had like a Bruce Blakeman
- 4:12Speaker 1: in office. That's what a guy like that would do,
- 4:14Speaker 1: immediately start to bring in a doze team, find all
- 4:17Speaker 1: the waste, fraud and lower people's taxes. But mom Donnie
- 4:21Speaker 1: wants to raise property tax. It's absolutely insane.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Would rather do is ensure that they remain as they
- 4:26Speaker 3: are so that the city can be on firm financial footing. However,
- 4:29Speaker 3: in order to get to this point of closing the
- 4:32Speaker 3: gap on both this fiscal year and the next fiscal year,
- 4:35Speaker 3: we are forced to raid the Rainy Day Fund, the
- 4:38Speaker 3: Retiree Health Benefits Trust Reserve, and to increase property taxes
- 4:42Speaker 3: across these other years.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Insane, absolutely insane.
- 4:45Speaker 3: At the heart of this path is a property tax increase.
- 4:49Speaker 3: This would effectively be a tax on working in middle
- 4:52Speaker 3: class New Yorkers who have a median income of one
- 4:54Speaker 3: hundred and twenty two thousand dollars.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Now, will he actually do this? Kenny? Actually? Hey, I
- 4:58Speaker 1: guess he can. I don't know. Willie actually do this?
- 5:00Speaker 1: I don't know, but it's absolutely insane. Now, if he
- 5:03Speaker 1: can't close the budget gap, believe it or not, the
- 5:06Speaker 1: governor can take over the city budget. If the city
- 5:09Speaker 1: financial situation is all screwed up, the governor can step
- 5:12Speaker 1: in and take over. However, she's not exactly a great
- 5:16Speaker 1: genius either. I mean, she's not exactly a Warren Buffett
- 5:19Speaker 1: when it comes to finance. But I don't know. If
- 5:23Speaker 1: he doesn't have the nerve to do much, she doesn't
- 5:25Speaker 1: have the nerve to step in. But the idea of
- 5:28Speaker 1: raising property tax, raising everybody's rent absolutely insane. This guy
- 5:33Speaker 1: is totally in over his head, doesn't know what the
- 5:36Speaker 1: hell he's doing. Thank you Democrats for giving us a
- 5:39Speaker 1: guy like this. Maybe next time, get somebody who's had
- 5:44Speaker 1: a job before. Can you imagine this? He's thirty three
- 5:47Speaker 1: years old, never worked, never had a job, never worked anywhere,
- 5:52Speaker 1: And Democrats think that's a guy that should be mayor.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Absolutely ridiculous. We'll get back to him. We'll ge back
- 5:59Speaker 1: to him. So Stephen Colbert is going nuts because there's
- 6:03Speaker 1: always been this equal time rule. If you have a
- 6:06Speaker 1: candidate for office, you're supposed to have the other side
- 6:09Speaker 1: on or at least offer it to him. And we
- 6:11Speaker 1: would always do that. You remember we had Curtis on
- 6:13Speaker 1: a lot when he was running for mayor. Well, if
- 6:16Speaker 1: Cuomo called up or Mom Donnie said I want equal
- 6:19Speaker 1: to of course, we'd give it to him. It's fair,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's the right thing to do. You have to do it.
- 6:24Speaker 1: That equal time law was strictly enforced for years. Over
- 6:27Speaker 1: the last twenty years, it wasn't really enforced, but it
- 6:30Speaker 1: was understood you'd give equal time in a race. But
- 6:34Speaker 1: Colbert doesn't want to do that. So this guy Tallerico
- 6:39Speaker 1: running in Texas. He loves this guy, you know, a
- 6:41Speaker 1: crazy left wing guy. So he's been promoting this guy.
- 6:44Speaker 1: He gave him a big interview and CBS told him
- 6:47Speaker 1: he can't air this unless you offer the other side
- 6:49Speaker 1: equal time. And Colbert did not want to do that.
- 6:53Speaker 1: He didn't want to give equal time to the other side.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Typical Colbert. So CBS said, you can't, we won't run
- 7:00Speaker 1: it on the network. Now Colbert has a YouTube channel,
- 7:04Speaker 1: he ran it there. But he went on a little
- 7:06Speaker 1: tirade last night reading the letter from CBS lawyers, and
- 7:10Speaker 1: then on the air he crumpled it up and then
- 7:14Speaker 1: stuck it in a bag of a dog poop. But
- 7:17Speaker 1: here's Colbert last night.
- 7:18Speaker 4: You know who is not one of my guests tonight.
- 7:21Speaker 4: That's Texas State Representative James Talerico. He was supposed to
- 7:26Speaker 4: be here, but we were told in no uncertain terms
- 7:29Speaker 4: by our network's lawyers, who called us directly, that we
- 7:32Speaker 4: could not have him on the broadcast.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Then then I was.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Told in some uncertain terms that not only could I
- 7:40Speaker 4: not have him on, I could not mention me not
- 7:43Speaker 4: having him on. And because my network clearly doesn't want
- 7:48Speaker 4: us to talk about this, let's talk about this.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's a late night talk, a late
- 7:54Speaker 1: night show. It's like Johnny Carson The Tonight Show, Jay Leno.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It's you suppose to be entertaining people. It's right before
- 8:01Speaker 1: they go in to bed. It's supposed to be fun entertaining.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Here he is on a tirade about this crazy left
- 8:08Speaker 1: wing democrat. And now who is this guy tall Rico?
- 8:10Speaker 1: Is he a great guest? Is he phenomenal? Well, here's
- 8:13Speaker 1: part of the interview. What do you think?
- 8:15Speaker 6: I think that Donald Trump is worried that we're about
- 8:18Speaker 6: to flip Texas. Across the state, there is a backlash
- 8:24Speaker 6: growing to the extremism and the corruption in our politics.
- 8:29Speaker 6: It's a people powered movement to take back our state
- 8:32Speaker 6: and take back our country. And I feel like we're
- 8:35Speaker 6: building something really special in Texas, and clearly Donald Trump
- 8:38Speaker 6: has taken note.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I don't know, it doesn't sound like that fascinating a guest.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I wouldn't say, oh, get that guy on the show.
- 8:45Speaker 7: Now.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I see it. As I said, it's late night television
- 8:47Speaker 1: supposed to be entertaining, fun, entertaining, jokes, laughs, put you
- 8:51Speaker 1: in a good mood before you go to sleep. Colbert Kimmel,
- 8:55Speaker 1: they've ruined late night television. They've turned it into a
- 8:58Speaker 1: partisan crazy It's like a it's just a Democrat rally.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It's like a political rally before you go to sleep.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Listen when this guy talks, Listen to the audience respond
- 9:07Speaker 1: like they're at a rally.
- 9:08Speaker 6: I think that Donald Trump is worried that we're about
- 9:11Speaker 6: to flip Texas's.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Supposed to be geting laughs. It's a political rally. So
- 9:17Speaker 1: Colbert all upset. He's been fired already. He's leaving in May.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So you got a week and a half of February
- 9:25Speaker 1: and then he got all of March April. Now you
- 9:28Speaker 1: got two and a half, almost three months. Then you're
- 9:31Speaker 1: rid of this guy. You'll never have to hear from
- 9:33Speaker 1: him again. Hey, oh whoo, Pee Goldberg. You know she's
- 9:36Speaker 1: been yelling and screaming for the Epstein files. You know
- 9:39Speaker 1: on the View, they've been screaming and yelling they have
- 9:42Speaker 1: to have the Epstein files. Where's the Epstein files? Released them?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Immediately they're demanding the Epstein files be released. Well, they've
- 9:48Speaker 1: been released, and what Pee Goldberg is in the Epstein files.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So she wasn't too thrilled about that. Now a lot
- 9:56Speaker 1: of people are in there for nothing bad. I'm in
- 9:58Speaker 1: the Epstein files. I came up like five times in
- 10:01Speaker 1: the search, but it was all harmless stuff. I was
- 10:04Speaker 1: seeing some event he wanted to come to. Somebody was
- 10:07Speaker 1: emailing him telling about my show. That that's all. It
- 10:10Speaker 1: was nothing bad, but Whoopy's in the Epstein Files. She's
- 10:17Speaker 1: apparently going somewhere to do something, and she wants This
- 10:21Speaker 1: is a lot of show business people like this. They
- 10:25Speaker 1: want everything given to them by somebody. They're like somebody
- 10:28Speaker 1: to pay for everything. So she needs to get to
- 10:31Speaker 1: this event she's going to, and she wants a private
- 10:34Speaker 1: plane to take her. But she doesn't want to pay
- 10:36Speaker 1: for it. She wants somebody to donate a private plane
- 10:40Speaker 1: to her. And apparently somebody asked Epstein, because Epstein was
- 10:44Speaker 1: a starstruck guy, always chasing celebrities, would he want to
- 10:48Speaker 1: donate his plane. He didn't. He eventually didn't. But here's
- 10:51Speaker 1: a Whoopie trying to talk away out why she's in
- 10:54Speaker 1: the Epstein files.
- 10:55Speaker 8: I'm telling you, when I tell you, people are trying
- 10:58Speaker 8: to turn me into I wasn't his girlfriend.
- 11:02Speaker 9: I was for him.
- 11:04Speaker 8: I was not only too old, but it was at
- 11:06Speaker 8: a time you know where this is just not you
- 11:10Speaker 8: used to have to have facts.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Well, the fact is you're in the Epstein files. We
- 11:14Speaker 1: didn't think you were his girlfriend.
- 11:16Speaker 5: But I'm getting dragged.
- 11:18Speaker 3: People actually believe.
- 11:20Speaker 8: That I was with him. It's like, honey, come on,
- 11:24Speaker 8: every man that I've ever been with. You've known about
- 11:27Speaker 8: him because either the Inquirer wrote it about it, people
- 11:31Speaker 8: wrote about this stuff. So no, I never had this.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Ye, not a lot of people really concerned about her
- 11:38Speaker 1: love life who she's with. In fact, remember when ted
- 11:42Speaker 1: Danson was going out with her and everybody made everybody
- 11:45Speaker 1: just think ted Danson was nuts. But so she's in
- 11:48Speaker 1: the Epstein files. I think it hasn't sunk in a
- 11:53Speaker 1: Democrats yet that there's nothing really in the Epstein files
- 11:56Speaker 1: that's going to help them in any way. Oh, there's
- 11:58Speaker 1: a few business guys in there, but ninety nine point
- 12:01Speaker 1: nine percent of the guys in there. If there was
- 12:03Speaker 1: anything to do with women, it was older women, not underage.
- 12:07Speaker 1: The underage was Epstein personally and maybe maybe one or
- 12:11Speaker 1: two of his friends, maybe Prince Andrew, but that's about it.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They're having these Epstein hearings. Leslie Wexner, big billionaire, and
- 12:18Speaker 1: he was really the first billionaire a million years ago
- 12:22Speaker 1: to get behind Epstein and befriend Epstein and put money in.
- 12:25Speaker 1: So he'll testify today. I don't suggest you watch it live.
- 12:30Speaker 1: You might doze off listing the Leslie Wexner testified, it's
- 12:33Speaker 1: not going to be that exciting. Bruce Springsteen has announced
- 12:36Speaker 1: a new tour and apparently this is going to be
- 12:42Speaker 1: this is going to be a political rally tour, Springsteen
- 12:46Speaker 1: becoming highly partisan. But here's the announcement. He put out,
- 12:51Speaker 1: we are living through dark, disturbing, dangerous times, but do
- 12:56Speaker 1: not despair. The cavalry is coming. Springsteen, you might say,
- 13:02Speaker 1: a brilliant songwriter, musician, but whenever these guys start talking
- 13:05Speaker 1: about politics, they sound like twelve year olds. And I'm
- 13:09Speaker 1: afraid you're gonna get a lot of that with Springsteen. Hey,
- 13:12Speaker 1: the Guthrie kidnapping, the latest you know, the DNA did
- 13:15Speaker 1: not match anybody in the database. The problem is if
- 13:19Speaker 1: you collect DNA. There is a database, but it's got
- 13:23Speaker 1: twenty two million people in it, but it's mostly criminals
- 13:27Speaker 1: that have been arrested. I would think they'd have to
- 13:29Speaker 1: be arrested in recent years. If it was twenty years ago,
- 13:33Speaker 1: they might not have been collecting DNA. Also in the
- 13:36Speaker 1: database might be people government people, law enforcement, military, that
- 13:40Speaker 1: kind of stuff. So the DNA did not match anybody
- 13:44Speaker 1: in the database, so it's no real value. The latest
- 13:49Speaker 1: clues they've got. They're looking again at that glove. The
- 13:53Speaker 1: doorbell camera you can see the guy's big puffy glove,
- 13:56Speaker 1: but they think under it, underneath the glove, they see
- 13:58Speaker 1: a little bump that they think, I think is a
- 14:00Speaker 1: pinky ring, that he might be wearing a pinky ring,
- 14:04Speaker 1: so they're looking for that. Also, remember he had a
- 14:06Speaker 1: holster on the front, very strange the holster, which usually
- 14:10Speaker 1: would be on the side. The holster is like over
- 14:12Speaker 1: his crotch. But they're now saying the holster was a
- 14:16Speaker 1: very very unusual holster. Very few of those kind of holsters.
- 14:21Speaker 1: So they're looking at who sells those, where they were sold,
- 14:25Speaker 1: and then they'll go to whoever sells them, check the
- 14:29Speaker 1: receipts and who bought it, and then look at the
- 14:31Speaker 1: surveillance video see if they get a picture of who's
- 14:34Speaker 1: buying it. Now, the only problem is he might have
- 14:36Speaker 1: bought it online, but still they'll be able to trace
- 14:39Speaker 1: that I who was sold online, where it was delivered
- 14:41Speaker 1: to that kind of stuff. Hey, Also, where Nancy Guthrie
- 14:46Speaker 1: lived was a very quiet, very very safe neighborhood. There
- 14:51Speaker 1: was never any crime, nobody was worried about anything crime wise.
- 14:55Speaker 1: That's where there was no security that but apparently now
- 14:58Speaker 1: the neighbors are all freaked out and they're really worried
- 15:01Speaker 1: about their safety. They're afraid. You'll lot of them live alone,
- 15:05Speaker 1: like Nancy Guffrey, and they want all kinds of security around,
- 15:08Speaker 1: they want more police all of that. You know, if
- 15:12Speaker 1: you talk to law enforcement experts, even in a very
- 15:17Speaker 1: very safe neighborhood, you could have occasionally have break ins,
- 15:20Speaker 1: a home invasion, robbery, that kind of stuff. But kidnapping
- 15:25Speaker 1: for money for ransom. Kidnapping for ransom is extremely unusual.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It is very very very rare. It just doesn't happen
- 15:34Speaker 1: very much. It's extremely rare. If you're in Mexico, it
- 15:37Speaker 1: happens all the time. But in the United States, somebody
- 15:40Speaker 1: kidnapping you for ransom, it's just almost non existent. Nowadays,
- 15:44Speaker 1: there is kidnapping where it's the custody thing, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 1: the husband and wife split up and the husband or
- 15:51Speaker 1: the wife kidnaps the daughter, that kind of stuff, But
- 15:53Speaker 1: just a kidnapping of a stranger for ransom extremely rare.
- 15:58Speaker 1: That's one problem of police. Just deal with it very much.
- 16:01Speaker 1: It's very unusual. Hey, we'll take some calls next eight
- 16:04Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number
- 16:08Speaker 1: eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 16:12Speaker 10: Beck to Mark Simone on woor.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 16:21Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 16:23Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Let's go to Gino in Granwich Village. Gino,
- 16:28Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 16:30Speaker 11: It's always great here in your voice, Taizano.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Let's play a christ Sees just to keep President Trump
- 16:34Speaker 7: alive and with it.
- 16:36Speaker 12: He's the best.
- 16:37Speaker 11: He's done more to help American veterans than any other
- 16:40Speaker 11: president other than Reagan.
- 16:42Speaker 12: And he's done more than Reagan.
- 16:44Speaker 11: The bottom line is.
- 16:46Speaker 12: This gi genaineans.
- 16:48Speaker 11: With all this free bees marked, he doesn't mention anything
- 16:51Speaker 11: helped erecan veterans. New York City is the only major
- 16:54Speaker 11: American city doesn't have a city administered retirement home from
- 16:59Speaker 11: their veterans. It's either the shelter of the street.
- 17:03Speaker 1: All right, you know, good call, Thanks for calling.
- 17:06Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Well he actually there actually is no free stuff for anybody.
- 17:11Speaker 1: He has not come through with anybody. He's talking about
- 17:14Speaker 1: maybe doing it with one of the buses, well, actually
- 17:18Speaker 1: a couple of bus lines, but he can't get that through.
- 17:23Speaker 1: By the way, the buses are free anyway. You know,
- 17:25Speaker 1: half the people don't pay the fare, and the drivers
- 17:28Speaker 1: are told don't stop him, don't do anything about it.
- 17:31Speaker 1: If you're in a subway, you'll notice half the people
- 17:34Speaker 1: jump the turnstile. If you're on a bus, half the
- 17:36Speaker 1: people just walk in and don't pay the fair. Let's
- 17:39Speaker 1: go to Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich How you doing.
- 17:42Speaker 13: Well? Okay?
- 17:43Speaker 12: I want to thank Vincent. And I had a lot
- 17:44Speaker 12: of people call me tell me he was talking about
- 17:46Speaker 12: my videos yesterday. But I appreciate that.
- 17:49Speaker 1: From Vincent fishing videos.
- 17:51Speaker 12: Yeah, I did a fishing you know, you and I
- 17:54Speaker 12: spoke about this before twenty five years. I did fishing
- 17:56Speaker 12: on TV and radio in the New York metro area.
- 17:59Speaker 12: Be GBB Way Way Long.
- 18:01Speaker 1: That's way out on Long Island.
- 18:03Speaker 12: Yeah, but a guy is all the way up in
- 18:05Speaker 12: am signals. You know, they carry you all up and
- 18:07Speaker 12: down and skip across the water. That tower was in Freeport,
- 18:10Speaker 12: and I can hear me all the way down to
- 18:12Speaker 12: Lone Bechild, the South Jersey and up at Connecticut.
- 18:14Speaker 1: So I gotta be honest. I don't watch a lot
- 18:16Speaker 1: of fishing television shows.
- 18:17Speaker 12: It's not it's all whole things change. Now a bunch
- 18:20Speaker 12: of talking heads telling you what they did, but nobody shows.
- 18:23Speaker 1: You what a point of fishing. You're just sitting there
- 18:26Speaker 1: waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. It's
- 18:29Speaker 1: just it's a waiting game.
- 18:30Speaker 12: It's better than working.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Well, no, but if you're playing golf, you keep hitting
- 18:34Speaker 1: the ball. You don't have to wait. If you're playing tennis,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you keep hitting the ball. This fishing is just ninety
- 18:40Speaker 1: nine percent is just sitting here waiting.
- 18:42Speaker 12: Hey, listen, Mark, half my fantasies. Don't even about me
- 18:45Speaker 12: getting off the couch. You know. So fishing is perfect,
- 18:47Speaker 12: you know what I'm saying.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So all right, I mean, if you love waiting, go
- 18:49Speaker 1: go go to a doctor's office, go to the tennis
- 18:51Speaker 1: He makes your wait for a half hour.
- 18:53Speaker 12: If you enjoy waiting, how can they just don't don't
- 18:56Speaker 12: take Kolberny's people or I mean it's cost him a
- 18:59Speaker 12: lot of money. I know, Cobez fired. You're gonna get
- 19:01Speaker 12: room after a lawyer statement last night. Well that's snag.
- 19:04Speaker 12: One just tad a plug and the guy and started
- 19:06Speaker 12: putting re ones on there. Save a lot of money
- 19:08Speaker 12: and make more money on your hands.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Yeah, well, when they take them off. When they take
- 19:12Speaker 1: them off, they'll run old shows or something. They'll get
- 19:14Speaker 1: triple the ratings. But today it's complicated. It's complicated because
- 19:19Speaker 1: you have about one hundred and twenty employees. You got
- 19:21Speaker 1: to gradually find a way to do something with them.
- 19:24Speaker 1: You gotta they got a multi million dollar theater. They
- 19:27Speaker 1: got to figure out what to do with. Also, you
- 19:28Speaker 1: can't just abandon your affiliates. It's part of the deal.
- 19:32Speaker 1: When you have a network show, you can't just cancel
- 19:34Speaker 1: all of a sudden.
- 19:35Speaker 12: You have I remember that.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to give the affiliates at least four
- 19:39Speaker 1: months notice or something so they can make other plans. Well,
- 19:42Speaker 1: thanks for calling, Rich. Let's go to uh, let's go
- 19:47Speaker 1: to Dennis in Long Island. Dennis, how you doing.
- 19:51Speaker 13: Hello, Hey, Mack, good mock, great show, love a great
- 19:56Speaker 13: news Mark. I've got a suggestion. Why don't we get
- 19:59Speaker 13: Jimmy Fallon replace called it that America laugh and have
- 20:02Speaker 13: a good night, and I talk to so they fail
- 20:05Speaker 13: are the best?
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, Jimmy Taylor has a late night show. It's
- 20:07Speaker 1: on the Fox News channel. Actually has a bigger audience
- 20:10Speaker 1: than Colbert does.
- 20:11Speaker 14: So he always does.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no reason for him to believe where he is.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Fox News Channel has a much bigger audience than CBS does,
- 20:18Speaker 1: and Jimmy Faylor does the best late night show. It's
- 20:21Speaker 1: on Saturday nights at ten o'clock. You know, Colbert does
- 20:25Speaker 1: it during the week, and he has like triple the
- 20:27Speaker 1: ratings of Colbert, much bigger ratings than Colbert. So it
- 20:32Speaker 1: should be their way around. Colbert should try to get
- 20:34Speaker 1: on the Fox News Channel because you have a much
- 20:36Speaker 1: much bigger audience there. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 20:40Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 20:41Speaker 15: Good morning, Mark, Mark, I'm okay, Good morning Mara. Mark.
- 20:44Speaker 15: Speaking about rent increases. I told you several months ago
- 20:49Speaker 15: that I already received my tax assessments and everything. I'm
- 20:53Speaker 15: already playing how much I'm gonna raise my tenants and
- 20:58Speaker 15: commercial and otherwise.
- 21:01Speaker 16: Mark, speaking of as the first you're a landlord if
- 21:04Speaker 16: your property tax goes up ten percent, and that doesn't
- 21:09Speaker 16: mean you raise the rent ten percent, right, because that's
- 21:11Speaker 16: only a question.
- 21:11Speaker 15: Devern lease is up, you're gonna get raised that much
- 21:16Speaker 15: lease at least, because I'm smart enough that any property
- 21:21Speaker 15: I own is not rent stabilized, not rent controlled. It's
- 21:25Speaker 15: private property. I can do whatever I want, and I
- 21:29Speaker 15: even sing it to my tenants because a lot of
- 21:32Speaker 15: them are liberals. I told them, I tell them, you
- 21:34Speaker 15: voted for this, You're gonna pay for it. Speaking of
- 21:38Speaker 15: equal time and everything with Stephen Colbert, in Italy, there
- 21:42Speaker 15: is actually a law. It's called park condeita, which is
- 21:46Speaker 15: Latin for equal time. In Italy, during the campaign season,
- 21:52Speaker 15: you have a candidate on your show and you give them,
- 21:55Speaker 15: let's say, ten minutes of time to talk about their candidacy.
- 21:59Speaker 15: And now, like Bendami how he's going to ruin the city,
- 22:02Speaker 15: you have to put the opposing side on. You have
- 22:06Speaker 15: to give them equal time, even for TV and radio,
- 22:09Speaker 15: and if you don't, they do enforce the find. I
- 22:14Speaker 15: wish they would do something else now, because there Whoopy
- 22:17Speaker 15: Goldberger is ruling. My favorite Italian soap opera. They wrote
- 22:21Speaker 15: her in one of my soap operas. It's all an
- 22:24Speaker 15: Italian where during the World War Two, her father was
- 22:29Speaker 15: played a soldier and he was in Italy and he
- 22:31Speaker 15: knocked up an Italian broad So she's going back over
- 22:34Speaker 15: there to discover her roots. And it's disgusting.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Vincent, you don't sound a soap opera type. But I
- 22:40Speaker 1: have a feeling this is Italian TV.
- 22:42Speaker 15: It's Italian TV.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I have a feeling the women are pretty hot looking
- 22:45Speaker 1: in this soap opera.
- 22:46Speaker 15: Yeah, it's not about h it's Italian soap opera stories. Yeah,
- 22:54Speaker 15: you know what I mean.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I gotcha. I got youa Hey, where where can somebody
- 22:58Speaker 1: see this? You' always talking about Italian TV. Where to see?
- 23:00Speaker 15: Well, I've got mine. Of course, nothing's registered under my name.
- 23:05Speaker 15: Pay for it, but Roku TV. I pay an extra
- 23:11Speaker 15: fee every month and I get all these Italian channels.
- 23:15Speaker 15: And the soap opera is called posto al soli, which
- 23:19Speaker 15: means a place in the sun. It all takes place.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Sounds good. Everybody goes sign up for Hey, Vincent, we
- 23:25Speaker 1: gotta go, we gotta do the news. But Roku TV
- 23:28Speaker 1: get the Italian channels. When we come back, Howie Carr
- 23:31Speaker 1: will be with us. I love talking to him. He'll
- 23:33Speaker 1: be great. We'll talk to him next on seven to
- 23:35Speaker 1: ten wor.
- 23:37Speaker 5: The Mark Simone Show on w O I.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Well, Howie Carr one of the great talk show hosts
- 23:45Speaker 1: in America. You can hear him on the iHeart appraa iHeartRadio.
- 23:49Speaker 1: You can also get his best selling books, the Latestest
- 23:52Speaker 1: Mass Corruption. He can get everything the podcast to show
- 23:55Speaker 1: the books at howiecarshow dot com, Howie Cars Show, Howie Carr,
- 24:01Speaker 1: How you doing very good?
- 24:03Speaker 9: I was just reading this story about the oral histories
- 24:07Speaker 9: from the Obama years that were released. Pretty funny, Josh Ernest,
- 24:12Speaker 9: the last White House Press secretary, I'd forgot even existed
- 24:15Speaker 9: out talking about twenty sixteen. The outcome of the election
- 24:19Speaker 9: was a direct rebuke of everything we had been trying
- 24:22Speaker 9: to do for the last ten years.
- 24:24Speaker 7: No kidding, Josh.
- 24:27Speaker 9: This just occurred to you in when you were giving
- 24:29Speaker 9: the oral history of that failed Obama administration. Wow, did
- 24:35Speaker 9: they make funny?
- 24:36Speaker 1: Did they mention in this oral history that there was
- 24:37Speaker 1: Obama who sent millions of ice agents out into the
- 24:40Speaker 1: street deporting people and they had Tom Holman run it
- 24:43Speaker 1: for them. Did they mention that?
- 24:45Speaker 9: Well? I guess, I guess. So Trump's election in twenty
- 24:48Speaker 9: sixteen was the direct rebuke of that, right because they
- 24:51Speaker 9: said every it was a rebuke of everything.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Hey, Howie Carr, do you know that you're in the
- 24:57Speaker 1: Epstein files?
- 24:59Speaker 9: I am yeah, nothing bad.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I mean, well, if you go to the Justice Department.
- 25:06Speaker 1: In the Epstein Library, they call it. There's a search bar,
- 25:09Speaker 1: so I'm searching all the people I know were tangled
- 25:11Speaker 1: up with him, and then just for the hell of it,
- 25:12Speaker 1: I type my name and I come up like five times.
- 25:16Speaker 1: But I mean, well, one time he was going to
- 25:18Speaker 1: a lunch where I was the MC. One time somebody
- 25:20Speaker 1: was emailing him about my show. So just now I
- 25:23Speaker 1: typed your name in the search bar. You came up
- 25:25Speaker 1: as somebody was telling him something about an interview you did,
- 25:29Speaker 1: some guest that was on your show. Somebody's emailing him
- 25:31Speaker 1: about it. Oh but if you type Howie car in
- 25:37Speaker 1: the search bar, one hit comes up in the Epstein files.
- 25:42Speaker 9: And you got five hits. Yeah, I think that makes
- 25:45Speaker 9: me a better person than you. I think this is
- 25:51Speaker 9: a reverse, reverse measure of one's morality and ethics.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Right. But again, it was nothing bad with me and
- 25:58Speaker 1: nothing bad with you. Harmless stuff. But a friend of
- 26:02Speaker 1: mine's a comedian. He was yelling. He goes, how could
- 26:04Speaker 1: you be in the Epstein for that's disgusting, And I said,
- 26:07Speaker 1: take your name, and I hear the keyboard going. He went,
- 26:09Speaker 1: oh my god, he was in there. Epstein went to
- 26:12Speaker 1: some show where he was part of the show.
- 26:14Speaker 9: So wow, that's ah, that's something. It's a it's really
- 26:19Speaker 9: funny to watch these guys. Did you see morning Joe
- 26:22Speaker 9: I guess had Jamie Raskin on, and he asked him
- 26:25Speaker 9: the obvious question, which you know should have been asked
- 26:27Speaker 9: a million times earlier, which is, well, if these if
- 26:30Speaker 9: these files are so devastating to Trump, well why didn't
- 26:33Speaker 9: you guys do anything for four years when Biden was president?
- 26:38Speaker 9: And you know Raskin, who's you know, a fourked tongue, uh,
- 26:44Speaker 9: you know, snake in the grass. He could he was
- 26:47Speaker 9: him in an hall and he sounded like Joe Biden
- 26:49Speaker 9: trying to come up with an explanation, and of course
- 26:52Speaker 9: there isn't a reasonable explanation.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, Now Hillary has to testify in a week
- 26:57Speaker 1: or so. What do you think she's going to do?
- 26:59Speaker 1: Just him and on?
- 27:01Speaker 9: Yeah, I think she I think that's what she's I mean,
- 27:04Speaker 9: she's she really hasn't she really hasn't done very well
- 27:08Speaker 9: in that trip to Munich when she's laughing when she
- 27:10Speaker 9: was asked about the hot tub, and and then she
- 27:13Speaker 9: was saying that you know, Bill was doing Bill was
- 27:16Speaker 9: on the plane for charity's sake. I mean, even by
- 27:20Speaker 9: Hillary Clinton standards, that's kind of weak. And then he
- 27:23Speaker 9: said he was he was on the in the pursuit
- 27:28Speaker 9: and the only word I heard was pursued. He was
- 27:30Speaker 9: Bill Clinton was pursuing something on that plane, but I
- 27:34Speaker 9: don't think it was I don't think it was charite. Oh,
- 27:36Speaker 9: and she also said he saved millions of lives, not
- 27:39Speaker 9: not not hundreds or thousands, but millions of lives with
- 27:43Speaker 9: the Clinton Foundation. I guess a lot of people relied
- 27:45Speaker 9: on those private jets that they bought rent and bought
- 27:49Speaker 9: bought with the with the money they got for the
- 27:51Speaker 9: Clinton Foundation.
- 27:52Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 27:53Speaker 1: And I don't think you mentioned that Epstein was one
- 27:55Speaker 1: of the founders of the Clinton Foundation. It was his
- 27:57Speaker 1: money that helped put it together. And there was one
- 28:00Speaker 1: interview over the weekend. They asked her about Glene Maxwell.
- 28:03Speaker 1: She said, I don't recall ever meeting her. Well, you
- 28:05Speaker 1: can see the pictures of her at Chelsea Clinton's wedding,
- 28:08Speaker 1: sitting there.
- 28:09Speaker 9: Right and then I think she then I think she
- 28:10Speaker 9: backed off, you know, she you know, she she went
- 28:14Speaker 9: for the more plausible deniability, said I may have met
- 28:16Speaker 9: her a couple of times. Do you do you invite
- 28:18Speaker 9: people you've met twice to your to your only child's wedding?
- 28:22Speaker 9: I don't think so, but I don't know. If I
- 28:24Speaker 9: don't have twenty children, you in by somebody that you
- 28:28Speaker 9: only met twice, you know, to a wedding. It's I mean,
- 28:32Speaker 9: but they can't stop lying. What I wonder is if
- 28:35Speaker 9: she'll pull out the cackle or if people or you know,
- 28:39Speaker 9: someone will tell her under no circumstances do you laugh? Hillary,
- 28:43Speaker 9: and especially in that you know, at what point, at
- 28:47Speaker 9: this point, what difference does it make style cackling?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Uh hey, speaking of the weekend AOC in Munich at
- 28:55Speaker 1: that conference, I mean done. But did you know she
- 28:59Speaker 1: was that dumb?
- 29:01Speaker 3: No?
- 29:01Speaker 13: You know?
- 29:02Speaker 9: I I said on my own show yesterday. I used
- 29:04Speaker 9: to teach at Boston University for about three years, and
- 29:08Speaker 9: I'm thinking of hiring one of those internet scrubbers. It's
- 29:12Speaker 9: just that goes through the internet and make sure all
- 29:14Speaker 9: references to me in Boston University are sponged from the
- 29:19Speaker 9: If anybody who ever walked down Commonwealth Avenue in Boston
- 29:23Speaker 9: should be doing the same thing, I mean, that is
- 29:26Speaker 9: so embarrassing, how dumb she is. But again, it's the
- 29:30Speaker 9: it's it's the old thing. You know that the Democrats
- 29:33Speaker 9: don't have to worry about ever being criticized or or
- 29:37Speaker 9: a fact checked, so that this is this is what
- 29:39Speaker 9: they do. They get into, they get into trouble like
- 29:42Speaker 9: this that you know, you know who's got to be
- 29:44Speaker 9: really depressed about this though? Her her performance is Chuck
- 29:47Speaker 9: Schumer because you know, he wants her to run for president,
- 29:51Speaker 9: not for the Senate. If she drops back. I mean,
- 29:53Speaker 9: she's a she's an automat, don't you think.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, no, I didn't think about that. Yeah, it
- 29:57Speaker 1: killed their presidential chances. But that you're now she's got
- 30:00Speaker 1: to go for Schumer's seed, which but you gotta give
- 30:03Speaker 1: Schumer credit. He got new glasses. It's a whole new
- 30:06Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer with the big thick glasses.
- 30:08Speaker 9: Now, so how about how about the Hakim Jeffries. You're
- 30:14Speaker 9: the minority leader. He wants ran defying a Jewish member
- 30:17Speaker 9: of Congress to resign because he made that joke about
- 30:20Speaker 9: Muslims and dogs. I mean, is that a good look
- 30:23Speaker 9: for Hackem Jeffries to go out there? I mean with
- 30:25Speaker 9: the anti Semitic writings, that are in the background from
- 30:28Speaker 9: college days. But again it's like AOC. They don't they
- 30:32Speaker 9: don't care. They they don't think that they're ever going
- 30:35Speaker 9: to get called out on any of this stuff. You know,
- 30:38Speaker 9: in most cases they aren't.
- 30:40Speaker 1: If Democrats were to take Congress, you'd have Hakeem Jeffries
- 30:43Speaker 1: and Schumer as the leaders. They're both in the same
- 30:46Speaker 1: little district in Brooklyn, very left wing little district in Brooklyn.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Did that make any sense to have those two with
- 30:54Speaker 1: the same point of view running Congress?
- 30:57Speaker 9: No, it doesn't. Hey, how about what's going to happen
- 31:00Speaker 9: with Mamdanni's poisoned pill for local I mean she could
- 31:04Speaker 9: either she could either. It's like it's like a firing
- 31:07Speaker 9: squad in Utah. They give you the choice, right, a
- 31:09Speaker 9: firing squad or the electric chair. What is she going
- 31:12Speaker 9: to do allow a millionaires tax to drive them out
- 31:16Speaker 9: or to or to allow the property taxes to go
- 31:19Speaker 9: up ten percent so they can cater more luxury food
- 31:24Speaker 9: to the homeless encampments.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Well, the good news is people that know these two
- 31:29Speaker 1: and private will tell you they're both cowards. They don't
- 31:32Speaker 1: have the guts to actually pull the trigger on anything. Ever,
- 31:34Speaker 1: So mom, Donnie will never get his tax through. Hokle
- 31:37Speaker 1: will never get the tax through. They'll just coast along
- 31:40Speaker 1: and uh, just drive everybody crazy. But the good news
- 31:44Speaker 1: is real estate is up in New York. Apartments are
- 31:46Speaker 1: selling like crazy, Rentals are through the roof. So apparently
- 31:50Speaker 1: people aren't worried about him.
- 31:52Speaker 9: So just keep telling yourself that, Just keep whistling through
- 31:59Speaker 9: that graveyard.
- 32:02Speaker 1: You're right, Okay, it's only been like two months.
- 32:05Speaker 9: You're right, right now, all the real estate listings are
- 32:08Speaker 9: going to have to have no pets allowed.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah, well, all right, that's a good point two months,
- 32:14Speaker 1: and I shouldn't be But the snow got picked up,
- 32:17Speaker 1: well actually had melted, all right, so that's good.
- 32:20Speaker 9: Hey, how he was defeated, Ice was defeated by nature.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Howie Carr's latest book is Excellence mass Corruption. You love
- 32:28Speaker 1: all of his books, you can get them. What's the
- 32:30Speaker 1: best place Amazon to go get your books?
- 32:32Speaker 9: Yeah, just go to Amazon dot com. Or you can
- 32:34Speaker 9: go to HOWI carshow dot com and don't order them

- 34:05Speaker 1: to this hour. Also, we have a special guest in
- 34:07Speaker 1: the studio. It's IRV. Right, turned the mic on. Try
- 34:12Speaker 1: it again, Hi, it's IRV Goldfarb, IRV Goldfard. Now you
- 34:15Speaker 1: might be saying, whoserve Goldfard? Well, every year we do
- 34:19Speaker 1: this big event for charity where we raise money for
- 34:23Speaker 1: what was the world.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Hunger thigh feeding America.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I'm not sure we're feeding America. And one of the
- 34:27Speaker 1: prizes you can bid, you have to bid a lot
- 34:29Speaker 1: of money, but you can win a visit to the
- 34:32Speaker 1: studio to come sit here and IRV, why do I
- 34:35Speaker 1: seem to know you?
- 34:37Speaker 5: I won the same auction in twenty twenty two actually
- 34:40Speaker 5: and spent a fun hour here with you at that time.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Well, I think you're the first auction winner ever to
- 34:45Speaker 1: come back again and do it twice. So now, but
- 34:48Speaker 1: the last time you did a couple of years ago.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Were we in the other studio?
- 34:51Speaker 5: I got it was impossible to find that, but the
- 34:53Speaker 5: cab driver had no idea what I was talking about.
- 34:55Speaker 5: This one was a lot easier.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, our old studios were in Tribeca. Left Tribeca.
- 35:00Speaker 1: We're now in midtown Manhattan, right here on fifty fifth
- 35:04Speaker 1: in a big, beautiful skyscraper, much better here. Did you
- 35:07Speaker 1: get a chance to look around?
- 35:08Speaker 5: I did, Yeah, walked around so some of the studios.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Yeah, we got Charlemagne over in that studio over there,
- 35:13Speaker 1: Elvis Duran down the hall, Jim Kurr that way. And
- 35:17Speaker 1: Irv's gonna just sit and is this exciting to sit
- 35:20Speaker 1: and watch this for an hour?
- 35:21Speaker 5: Well, I mean last time I was here, I was
- 35:22Speaker 5: able to participate a little bit.
- 35:24Speaker 1: So yeah. And of course you want to plug anything mentioning,
- 35:27Speaker 1: that's part of the deal. Do you want to? I do.
- 35:29Speaker 5: Actually, I actually started writing a blog about a year
- 35:33Speaker 5: ago because I oh no, I was in radio for
- 35:36Speaker 5: twenty years and I worked at ESPN, So like you,
- 35:38Speaker 5: I met a lot of famous personages and I had
- 35:41Speaker 5: some interesting stories. So I sent it to seventy five
- 35:43Speaker 5: of my closest friends and I got good feedback. So
- 35:46Speaker 5: now I'm uploading those blogs onto substack.
- 35:49Speaker 1: And where did people go?
- 35:50Speaker 5: They can go to substack. It's called Irvin's substack. IRV
- 35:53Speaker 5: I n aostrophe s Iervin substack. Unfortunately I found out
- 35:56Speaker 5: last night there are two Irvin's substack, IRV gold Farb.
- 36:01Speaker 5: You see my name, and you can read stories about
- 36:03Speaker 5: me chauffeing Bruce Springsteen around back when he was a
- 36:05Speaker 5: human being. I worked for Hardy Winstein one night. I
- 36:09Speaker 5: had a lot of interesting story.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and people like them not crazy about the name Irvin's.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Well, my name is Ervin, so I just put my
- 36:15Speaker 5: name in it, just popped up his Irvin's substack. So
- 36:18Speaker 5: I just kept like gold Farb stup stack.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Gold Farb sounds like something like a like a German
- 36:23Speaker 1: candy boy or something.
- 36:25Speaker 5: I will go back and change it, and so I
- 36:27Speaker 5: won't confuse with the other Irvan. I'll make a gold
- 36:29Speaker 5: Farm substack.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Well, as long as it's doing well, that's important. Now,
- 36:32Speaker 1: where'd you drive Bruce Springsteen to.
- 36:34Speaker 5: A record store in Rochester? I met him at the pool.
- 36:37Speaker 5: He asked if there was a record store around. I
- 36:38Speaker 5: knew there was a record store. He said, thank you.
- 36:40Speaker 5: I said, you want to ride, Bruce? He said, yeah, Man,
- 36:42Speaker 5: I'll take a ride, put him in the car, draw
- 36:44Speaker 5: him to the record store. People recognized him after a while,
- 36:47Speaker 5: chased us down the escalator and we sat in the
- 36:50Speaker 5: car and talked for a while after. It was an
- 36:51Speaker 5: unforgetable as right.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Well, you can read these stories.
- 36:55Speaker 5: On Irvin's substack.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Ervin's substack. And what did you do with the ESPN?
- 37:00Speaker 5: I was mostly I did stats, baseball stats, hockey stats.
- 37:04Speaker 5: I put the graphics up on the scene on the screen.
- 37:07Speaker 5: So oh, very good numbers excellent. So and paid a
- 37:11Speaker 5: lot of money to be our auction winner. Money goes
- 37:14Speaker 5: to charity to feed the hungry. And again, first time
- 37:19Speaker 5: anybody's ever done this twice. So should I do it
- 37:21Speaker 5: again next year? Should I back off?
- 37:23Speaker 1: Yeah, if you want, as long as you keep winning.
- 37:25Speaker 1: We have a high roller audience and they do spend
- 37:28Speaker 1: a lot of money on charity.
- 37:29Speaker 5: I would have thought that with a lot of people
- 37:31Speaker 5: would be into this.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Yeah. So anyway, ev will be with us throughout the hour.
- 37:36Speaker 1: We'll get back to IRV and so jump in if
- 37:39Speaker 1: you want. Hey, Rosie O'donnald snuck back into the country.
- 37:45Speaker 1: You remember, she's leaving. She's leaving the country, never going
- 37:47Speaker 1: to set foot in America while Trump is president. She
- 37:50Speaker 1: did sneak back apparently about two weeks ago, said she
- 37:53Speaker 1: wanted to see her family. She missed her family. You
- 37:57Speaker 1: ever see her family. I don't think anybody want to
- 37:58Speaker 1: see them again. But she did come back, and she
- 38:01Speaker 1: also said being insane, she said she wanted to make
- 38:05Speaker 1: sure it was safe. She wanted to make sure she
- 38:07Speaker 1: could get in and out of America. Now. I don't
- 38:10Speaker 1: know what she's picturing, getting kidnapped, getting arrested Ice agents.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I don't know what she's pretty imagining. But she came
- 38:18Speaker 1: and went. Everything was fine, she saw our kids. Nobody cared.
- 38:21Speaker 1: If you look at her nowadays, nobody would recognize her.
- 38:23Speaker 1: You wouldn't know it was Rosie O'Donnell. She looks absolutely
- 38:26Speaker 1: she looks like Jim Acosta. Now she looks totally different.
- 38:31Speaker 1: She does have Irish citizenship. And you got to remember
- 38:36Speaker 1: she started the feud, this blood feud with Trump back
- 38:40Speaker 1: when she was on the View. She started talking about
- 38:42Speaker 1: him one day and you remember she somehow took her
- 38:44Speaker 1: hair and put it in the shape of Trump's hair,
- 38:47Speaker 1: and she really got ugly, personal ugly, imitating him, and
- 38:50Speaker 1: then he went after and she got worse. You know,
- 38:52Speaker 1: these are like two insult kings going after each other,
- 38:57Speaker 1: so it really got ugly, and she did sneak back
- 39:01Speaker 1: into the country. Now, also Allen who left the country,
- 39:04Speaker 1: I just bought another twenty five million dollar mansion in
- 39:07Speaker 1: Santa Barbara, indicating she's going to want to come back
- 39:11Speaker 1: a lot more so. Apparently when you leave America, you really,
- 39:16Speaker 1: really really don't enjoy it. Other celebrity news, Spike Lee
- 39:20Speaker 1: a lot of people upset with him. He showed up
- 39:22Speaker 1: at the NBA All Star Game, the first Israeli born
- 39:26Speaker 1: player competing in the NBA All Star Game. Spike Lee
- 39:30Speaker 1: shows up wearing a Palestinian outfit, a Palestinian flag, a
- 39:34Speaker 1: Palestinian this, a Palestinian that. It's stupid, it's disgusting, it's
- 39:39Speaker 1: anti Semitic in that situation, but it's Spike Lee. Would
- 39:43Speaker 1: you've expected any different from Spike Lee. It's just it's
- 39:48Speaker 1: the problem that Democrats have. You know, when Jesse Jackson,
- 39:52Speaker 1: first he had Martin Luther King, big civil rights leader,
- 39:56Speaker 1: big left wing guy. Great job. Then you had Jesse Jackson,
- 40:00Speaker 1: not Martin Luther King, but it wasn't so bad. And
- 40:02Speaker 1: then somewhere along the way, the Nation of Islam Fharakhn
- 40:06Speaker 1: jumps into the civil rights movement, bringing with him anti Semitism.
- 40:10Speaker 1: It then starts to creep into the Democratic Party. Maybe
- 40:14Speaker 1: I don't know. Has it been there all along, maybe,
- 40:17Speaker 1: but it brought it out. There's an anti Semitic problem
- 40:20Speaker 1: that Democrats are going to have to deal with. It's
- 40:23Speaker 1: gonna it's gonna just haunt them forever if they don't
- 40:25Speaker 1: get rid of it. It's gotten worse. But then everything
- 40:28Speaker 1: in the democratic world has gotten worse. They've just gotten
- 40:31Speaker 1: totally insane, absolutely crazy, just over the top nuts in
- 40:34Speaker 1: the last few years. So, hey, have you seen the
- 40:38Speaker 1: JFK Junior mini series?
- 40:41Speaker 5: I saw the promos for it, I haven't seen the series.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Apparently this is the hottest series in the world. JFK Junior.
- 40:46Speaker 1: It's mostly about his meeting Carolyn Bissett. You know, he
- 40:50Speaker 1: was like the ultimate playboy of Manhattan women, all of them,
- 40:54Speaker 1: but then he met this one woman. And this is like,
- 40:56Speaker 1: for a lot of women, the fairy tale love story
- 40:59Speaker 1: that the ultimate bachelor can fall in love and want
- 41:02Speaker 1: to settle down and want to get married, and it's
- 41:05Speaker 1: all about their relationship and this and that how they
- 41:09Speaker 1: got married. This incredible love story. Now JFK. Junior was
- 41:12Speaker 1: a very good friend of mine. We used to go
- 41:14Speaker 1: out a lot, and he was quite the unbelievable bachelor,
- 41:18Speaker 1: and he did meet Carolyn Bassett and settled down. I
- 41:20Speaker 1: didn't see him as much after that, but then I
- 41:22Speaker 1: started to see him again a lot, and he was
- 41:24Speaker 1: going out. So I don't know what they show in
- 41:26Speaker 1: this mini series, but after a while with this marriage,
- 41:31Speaker 1: he was out again roaming around. So it wasn't quite
- 41:34Speaker 1: the fairy tale you imagine. Now, Apparently in the in
- 41:38Speaker 1: the series, he meets her and he takes her on
- 41:41Speaker 1: the first date to a certain restaurant in the village
- 41:44Speaker 1: East village. I don't have the name of it. It's
- 41:46Speaker 1: an Indian restaurant, and they I guess they actually went
- 41:50Speaker 1: to the real place and filmed it there and you
- 41:52Speaker 1: see them going the first date to this Indian restaurant
- 41:55Speaker 1: in the village. Well, apparently because of that, this restaurant
- 41:59Speaker 1: is now the hardest reservation in the world to get.
- 42:02Speaker 1: People are lined up for miles. They all want to
- 42:04Speaker 1: get into this restaurant. Now, again, I knew the guy
- 42:06Speaker 1: pretty well and he was a great guy, but nobody
- 42:10Speaker 1: had worse taste in food than him. He didn't know
- 42:13Speaker 1: anything about The only person that had worst tasting food
- 42:16Speaker 1: probably his mother. They the fact when his mother had
- 42:18Speaker 1: a big dinner party, everybody knew to eat first, because
- 42:21Speaker 1: you it's like that old waspy society food where that's
- 42:26Speaker 1: nothing has any flavor. But so I wouldn't go by
- 42:29Speaker 1: him on what restaurants to go do. But it doesn't matter.
- 42:32Speaker 1: The place is packed all the time. I've noticed a
- 42:37Speaker 1: lot of this. This is the new thing with making
- 42:39Speaker 1: the movies about people, Like with JFK. Junior. You make
- 42:43Speaker 1: it into much more of a perfect marriage than it
- 42:46Speaker 1: actually was. Or have you seen the movie Marty Supreme
- 42:49Speaker 1: just saw it a few weeks ago. Yes, it's unbelievable,
- 42:52Speaker 1: action packed, it's amazing. Now I knew the real guy.
- 42:54Speaker 1: His name was Marty Reesman, and he was a nice guy,
- 42:58Speaker 1: but he was maybe the most boring human being you
- 43:00Speaker 1: could ever be around. He was and he was a
- 43:03Speaker 1: ping pong player champion. And if you see the movie,
- 43:06Speaker 1: all the ping pong stuff is true, but all the
- 43:09Speaker 1: other stuff is just made up. The gangsters, the gun chasers,
- 43:12Speaker 1: the car chases, gunfire, the movie star, all of that
- 43:15Speaker 1: was made up. Total fiction. So that's the new style
- 43:18Speaker 1: of biography. Start with the real story and then just
- 43:21Speaker 1: make up all kinds of nonsense. Hey, there's a nail salon.
- 43:26Speaker 1: I don't want to mention the name, but it's really nice.
- 43:29Speaker 1: It's beautiful, it's excellent. Everybody tells me it's the finest
- 43:32Speaker 1: nail salon in the city. So I'm looking. I don't know.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I just looked it up on Yelp. It got the
- 43:37Speaker 1: worst review I've ever It's got horrible reviews. What it's magnificent?
- 43:42Speaker 1: How could I get such bad reviews. I'm reading the
- 43:44Speaker 1: Yelp reviews. This woman says it's I will never set
- 43:47Speaker 1: foot in there again. They had Fox News playing on
- 43:51Speaker 1: the TV. There's another one. You've got the boycott. I
- 43:56Speaker 1: won't mention the name, boycott it. They have Fox News
- 43:58Speaker 1: on the TV there. This is unbelievable. This is how
- 44:02Speaker 1: just modern day democrats the most intolerant people in the world.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I've had a lot of restaurant managers tell me that,
- 44:10Speaker 1: you know restaurant that has TVs around the bar or
- 44:12Speaker 1: all of it, but that if Fox News is on,
- 44:15Speaker 1: people will start yelling and screaming, demanding they changed the
- 44:18Speaker 1: channel or demanding they changed their table so they don't
- 44:21Speaker 1: have to look at Fox News again, counting the left
- 44:24Speaker 1: wing to be totally intolerant all the time. Hey, HERV,
- 44:28Speaker 1: where do you live in Jersey? Union City? So when
- 44:31Speaker 1: you came into the city, what was your impression as
- 44:33Speaker 1: far as garbage snow?
- 44:35Speaker 5: Well, I was kind of brought up in New York,
- 44:37Speaker 5: so that doesn't surprise me. What did stand out this time?
- 44:41Speaker 5: I am seeing more masks again. I'm seeing more, I say,
- 44:44Speaker 5: a little bit in Jersey, but I'm seeing them here.
- 44:46Speaker 5: The more I come into the city. I'm not sure
- 44:48Speaker 5: what that's all about.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Oh, well, it's good. It's the left wing identifying themselves
- 44:53Speaker 1: with the men. Although it was pretty cold the last
- 44:55Speaker 1: few weeks. I saw a lot of people wearing masks
- 44:57Speaker 1: during the cold snap. But it was great. The snow melted,
- 45:01Speaker 1: it's almost all gone. The garbage got picked up, although
- 45:04Speaker 1: today walking around I know it's the garbage's back. Enormous
- 45:07Speaker 1: piles of garbage on every street. So that's Mom, Donnie.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Not good with the not good with anything right now,
- 45:16Speaker 1: a management disaster. And by the way, the emergency response
- 45:19Speaker 1: director who's been there for years just left. He quit now.
- 45:23Speaker 1: The good news is he kept recommending his number two,
- 45:27Speaker 1: the deputy director, and said she'd be perfect. She's been
- 45:31Speaker 1: there almost thirty years. She knows what she's doing. The
- 45:34Speaker 1: good news is Mom, Donnie just appointed her, made her
- 45:37Speaker 1: the director. A lot of people thought he'd bring in
- 45:39Speaker 1: some left wing crazy kook, but he did appoint her.
- 45:43Speaker 1: So that's pretty good news. Hey, we'll take a break.
- 45:47Speaker 1: We'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 45:50Speaker 1: one zero seven. Ton is the number eight hundred three
- 45:54Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten Elison. As I said, we
- 45:57Speaker 1: got a lot of big high rollers in the audience.
- 45:59Speaker 1: This station has the highest they're called the c Suite Index.
- 46:05Speaker 1: That's how many CEOs CFOs coos listen. Our c suite
- 46:12Speaker 1: index is two seventy two normals one hundred. So we
- 46:15Speaker 1: got a lot of big executives. We got IRV over here.
- 46:20Speaker 1: There's a big winner of our auction price. But what
- 46:23Speaker 1: we're doing is we're going to have a big exclusive
- 46:26Speaker 1: business networking event coming up. It's going to be March nineteenth,
- 46:31Speaker 1: six to eight pm. It'll be in the evening cocktails
- 46:34Speaker 1: and it'll be a lot of CEOs, a lot of
- 46:36Speaker 1: business leaders, and if you want to come to it
- 46:38Speaker 1: you can. You have to RSVP because the space is limited.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Now we're going to have this at this beautiful new venue.
- 46:45Speaker 1: It's called two Park Avenue. It's Park Avenue. I think
- 46:49Speaker 1: it's like fortieth Street. It's just two blocks from Grand Central,
- 46:53Speaker 1: but two Park Avenue. It's this beautiful office building. The
- 46:56Speaker 1: venue is on the top and it hasn't credible views.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Also has this big, magnificent terrace. So the event's going
- 47:03Speaker 1: to be a lot of CEOs, a lot of business leaders.
- 47:05Speaker 1: If you want to come to this and network and mingle,
- 47:08Speaker 1: you can do that. I'll be there. I'll be talking
- 47:11Speaker 1: a little, Larry MENTI will and Curtis Sliwa will speak
- 47:15Speaker 1: and if you've never seen if you've never seen Curtis speak,
- 47:18Speaker 1: he's just dazzling doing those speeches. But if you want
- 47:21Speaker 1: to come, it's six to eight pm. You have a
- 47:24Speaker 1: chance to meet a lot of business leaders CEOs to
- 47:27Speaker 1: Park Avenue. This is a beautiful if you want to
- 47:29Speaker 1: do a corporate event, a business event, this is one
- 47:32Speaker 1: of the most beautiful new event spaces to Park Avenue. Now,
- 47:37Speaker 1: if you want to come, you got an RSVP, just
- 47:39Speaker 1: go to seven ten WR dot com slash Live seven
- 47:45Speaker 1: ten WR dot com slash Lives in March nineteenth. But
- 47:51Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next on seven ten WR.
- 47:55Speaker 10: Insight from the inside this seven ten.
- 48:01Speaker 15: Show.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Well, take some calls in the studio, is IRV. It's
- 48:06Speaker 1: part of the deal. When you're the big auction winner,
- 48:08Speaker 1: you got to spend a lot of money. It's all
- 48:10Speaker 1: goes to charity. You get to sit in the studio
- 48:12Speaker 1: U and watch for an hour. How exciting is this, IRV?
- 48:14Speaker 5: This is incredibly exciting. By the way, I forgot to
- 48:16Speaker 5: congratulate you on the I see the sign that to
- 48:19Speaker 5: the Barret Media Award Major.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we were voted the number one show and that's
- 48:22Speaker 1: actually for last year. We just wanted again this year.
- 48:26Speaker 1: We've got to have a new poster, another one put
- 48:28Speaker 1: over there, I guess, but it's deserved. Are they're working
- 48:32Speaker 1: on it. Oh, I have a new one coming pretty soon.
- 48:34Speaker 1: So an IRV, what do you want to tell everybody
- 48:37Speaker 1: to go to your.
- 48:37Speaker 5: Substack, go to my substack, Irvin's substack on substack, if
- 48:41Speaker 5: hopefully you can find.
- 48:42Speaker 1: It, Irvin's substack should be easy to find. All right,
- 48:45Speaker 1: Let's take some calls. Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike,
- 48:49Speaker 1: how you doing, Good morning, Mark as Mike, and.
- 48:53Speaker 12: A big shout out to irv uh.
- 48:55Speaker 7: You know, one thing these lipples keep.
- 48:57Speaker 14: Proving is they all have glass jaws, whether it's Colbert Rose,
- 49:00Speaker 14: o'donald Hakeem Jeffries, who, by the way, his uncle Leondard
- 49:03Speaker 14: Jefferies was the biggest anti semi jew hater on the face.
- 49:07Speaker 7: Of the earth at one point.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Wow, he's got competition.
- 49:11Speaker 7: Yeah, true, now he does. But back in the day
- 49:14Speaker 7: he was like the leader of this stuff.
- 49:16Speaker 9: But they none of them could take a punch.
- 49:18Speaker 14: And not that the Republicans punch back that often, but
- 49:20Speaker 14: when they do, they go cry into you know, themselves,
- 49:23Speaker 14: and that their award show. They go out and they
- 49:26Speaker 14: you know, they cry to the public and it's amazing
- 49:28Speaker 14: that none of them can take a punch.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Well, the reason for that is because the media just
- 49:33Speaker 1: caters fake news New York Times watch. All they do
- 49:35Speaker 1: is just cater to them. So if you're a Republican,
- 49:38Speaker 1: if you're a Trump you're used to getting attack left
- 49:40Speaker 1: and right all day and night. They're not used to it.
- 49:43Speaker 1: They live in this bubble. They never turn on anything
- 49:46Speaker 1: except mainstream media. But thanks for calling, Mike. Let's go
- 49:49Speaker 1: to Joe and Elmwood Park. Joe, how you doing?
- 49:52Speaker 12: Good morning, Mark, how you doing?
- 49:54Speaker 1: Kudos to Vincent?
- 49:56Speaker 12: I heard your guests lived in New Jersey.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Could I ask go ahead how he.
- 50:01Speaker 12: Likes his utility bill.
- 50:03Speaker 5: I am not crazy about my utility bill, thinking of a
- 50:06Speaker 5: lot of Jersey just because of that. It's it's the
- 50:09Speaker 5: jump was incredible the last couple of years. My jaw
- 50:11Speaker 5: is open. I couldn't believe it.
- 50:13Speaker 1: So what's the deal your electric bill?
- 50:14Speaker 5: And that was PSG and it jumped from like on
- 50:18Speaker 5: the bad months, it jumped from like six hundred to
- 50:20Speaker 5: like eleven hundred out of nowhere dos one month. I
- 50:23Speaker 5: was right, it was it was crazy for electricity. Well
- 50:27Speaker 5: it's gas electricity.
- 50:29Speaker 12: You thank Phil Murphy.
- 50:30Speaker 5: And then she's gonna she was supposed to put a
- 50:33Speaker 5: cap on it, and it went up thirty dollars more
- 50:35Speaker 5: a month.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Well, you can also thank Andrew Cuomo for closing Indian
- 50:39Speaker 1: Point that was twenty five percent of our energy and
- 50:41Speaker 1: then killing natural gas, which would have brought everybody's bill down.
- 50:45Speaker 1: So where are you gonna? Where are you gonna move
- 50:46Speaker 1: if you want to get away from that, I.
- 50:48Speaker 15: Have no choice.
- 50:49Speaker 1: I'm stuck here.
- 50:50Speaker 5: I've been told Pennsylvania, I've just batched the advice. I
- 50:53Speaker 5: got low taxes, cheaper houses, and nice areas, all right,
- 50:58Speaker 5: thinking about it, But you.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Know, you know, you got all the trouble to move.
- 51:03Speaker 1: And then you know, like Florida, who knows one day
- 51:05Speaker 1: they could get a democratic governor and it goes crazy.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Let's go to Bill and Lafayette. Bill, how you doing okay?
- 51:13Speaker 12: Mark?
- 51:14Speaker 11: There's an author out of and he's a retired professor,
- 51:18Speaker 11: George Skia Lava out of Harvard.
- 51:21Speaker 1: And he already I can't stand the professor Harvard.
- 51:25Speaker 11: Oh my god, he is a crazy guy. He runs
- 51:29Speaker 11: a common wheel spellbound article and he uses Catholicism as
- 51:35Speaker 11: a springboard into telling everybody how evil and disgusting President
- 51:42Speaker 11: Trump is. And I'm wondering about these people from Harvard
- 51:45Speaker 11: between the ages of seventy and eighty. I wonder if
- 51:49Speaker 11: they were all followers of Timothy Leary and just got
- 51:52Speaker 11: some hit cells on some bad acid trips.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Well, you remember, in the late sixties early seventies, all
- 51:59Speaker 1: the left wing radicals on campus, the hippies, the left wing.
- 52:02Speaker 1: They grew up and they became the professors. They're the professors,
- 52:05Speaker 1: and then they've raised and indoctrinated generations of crazies. Hey,
- 52:09Speaker 1: by the way, you know he's talking about the Epstein files.
- 52:11Speaker 1: How you can search When you go to the Epstein
- 52:13Speaker 1: file site, you can just type in the search bar.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Nothing comes up more than Harvard. There is no no
- 52:20Speaker 1: person place that gets more hits than Harvard. Epstein was
- 52:23Speaker 1: an enormous part of Harvard, from the president to the professors.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Nobody was more involved with Epstein than Harvard. So, uh,
- 52:33Speaker 1: just remember that. Let's go to Johnny and Staten Island. Johnny,
- 52:36Speaker 1: how you doing, Hey, Mark.
- 52:39Speaker 7: A long time those spook Listen? New taxes do want
- 52:43Speaker 7: to add on to the city. Yeah, he get it
- 52:46Speaker 7: said from the rich or to corporations. That's no good. Uh,
- 52:50Speaker 7: they want to put charge poppy taxes.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Worse than me. I got allergies too, I could keep coughing.
- 52:56Speaker 7: And yeah, but why do we start with the The
- 53:00Speaker 7: MTA spent two billion dollars on the metro call to
- 53:04Speaker 7: get rid of it. How about we stopped all the projects,
- 53:07Speaker 7: we got the buzzes and trained we got enough employees.
- 53:12Speaker 1: And MTA is a disaster. But that's that's local. That's
- 53:15Speaker 1: not MTA is not Mom Donnie, that's HOCl. She controls
- 53:18Speaker 1: the MTA.
- 53:19Speaker 12: No.
- 53:19Speaker 7: But the thing is, you know she can take the
- 53:22Speaker 7: money and give it to Mom Donnie and then you
- 53:25Speaker 7: go and get rid of wold management and MTA.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Well, she did actually give Mom Donnie one point five
- 53:31Speaker 1: billion to just tie him over for a few weeks.
- 53:33Speaker 1: But the MTA budget could easily be cut in half.
- 53:36Speaker 1: It's all waste, you know. They spend like I forget
- 53:39Speaker 1: what the number is. It's like five hundred million attract
- 53:42Speaker 1: mile to build subways. The actual cost should be like
- 53:44Speaker 1: two million. You know, it's to pave a mile a highway.
- 53:48Speaker 1: It's forty thousand dollars. We spend a million and a
- 53:50Speaker 1: half a mile to pave highway. It's just all waste
- 53:54Speaker 1: and fraud. You could easily easily clean that up. Well, Hey,
- 53:58Speaker 1: coming up next, talk to irv's favorite and cold Hey
- 54:03Speaker 1: and Coulter coming up next. Lots to talk to her about.
- 54:07Speaker 1: On seven to ten w R.
- 54:09Speaker 10: Mark Simon on R.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Well and Culter, the best selling author, the great columnist.
- 54:17Speaker 1: You can make sure you follow her on Twitter. Great
- 54:19Speaker 1: stuff on Twitter, but even better her substack, where she
- 54:23Speaker 1: does columns and podcasts and interviews, videos, all sorts of stuff.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Go to Andculter dot substack dot com and culter.
- 54:31Speaker 10: How you doing fantastic, Homon.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I'm good. Now. We have a visitor in the studio today.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Every year, well every year we do this big charity
- 54:41Speaker 1: auction for hunger and one of the prizes is for
- 54:44Speaker 1: a lot of money, you get to come sit in
- 54:45Speaker 1: the studio. And the winner this year is ERRRV Goldfarb.
- 54:51Speaker 1: And he's the first guy to actually bid and win
- 54:53Speaker 1: this thing twice. He did a few years ago and
- 54:56Speaker 1: he talked to you back then. He wants to talk
- 54:58Speaker 1: to you again.
- 54:59Speaker 10: H it's a good verb. I hope this charity isn't run.
- 55:03Speaker 1: By the Somali No, it's a real one. But he
- 55:06Speaker 1: has a substack too, right.
- 55:08Speaker 5: I just I started uploading my blog onto substack a
- 55:10Speaker 5: few months ago. Based on your success, I decided to
- 55:13Speaker 5: do the same thing.
- 55:14Speaker 10: Oh excellent, doesn't substack fun, No no ads, no censorship.
- 55:19Speaker 5: I really like plus people try to help each other,
- 55:21Speaker 5: Like if you don't have a lot of subscriptions, they're like, well,
- 55:22Speaker 5: send me your substack and I'll send you mind people
- 55:24Speaker 5: kind of it's like a community.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I like it. Oh, I don't like that part.
- 55:31Speaker 5: It gets readers. And I had a question for you
- 55:34Speaker 5: if it's okay. I don't want to take too much.
- 55:36Speaker 5: Can But I'm thinking about this. You do say surprising
- 55:39Speaker 5: stuff once in a while that that makes the left
- 55:42Speaker 5: very angry. It makes me think, and a lot of
- 55:44Speaker 5: times when I think about it, I'm like, you know
- 55:46Speaker 5: what she was right about that you inferred you I
- 55:50Speaker 5: think a lot about it. You inferred I think on
- 55:52Speaker 5: the show a few years ago that Joseph McCarthy was
- 55:55Speaker 5: misunderstood and gets a bad rap. And I'm having a
- 55:58Speaker 5: little trouble rap in my mind around that. Can you
- 56:01Speaker 5: explain that a little bit?
- 56:03Speaker 10: Yes, I am so glad you asked. More than that.
- 56:08Speaker 10: It is laid out in in I would say, verb
- 56:11Speaker 10: and detail an exciting story in my book Treason. Uh,
- 56:17Speaker 10: it's a good couple of chapters that. The argument of
- 56:19Speaker 10: my book Treason is that liberals have consistently rooted for
- 56:23Speaker 10: our country's enemies basically since the mcarthy era. And I
- 56:29Speaker 10: had just you know, my first book was High Crimes
- 56:32Speaker 10: and misdemeanor spout pointon and that was the first time
- 56:35Speaker 10: I really I mean I was a practicing lawyer before that.
- 56:37Speaker 10: That was the first time I really noticed just the
- 56:41Speaker 10: the the mountains of lies that were deployed to defend
- 56:47Speaker 10: Bill Clinton, to malign anyone who was opposed to him,
- 56:51Speaker 10: from Lucy Angoldberg to Ken Starr and and reading the
- 56:57Speaker 10: true history, which is very hard to get on Joe
- 56:59Speaker 10: McCarthy of Joe McCarthy, I realized, Oh my gosh, it's
- 57:04Speaker 10: the same thing, except we didn't have the Internet. It's
- 57:08Speaker 10: it's Clinton was like the comical mirror image of what
- 57:13Speaker 10: they did to McCarthy he had. I'll say briefly, but
- 57:17Speaker 10: I do recommend that you read the book, for you'll
- 57:20Speaker 10: be amazed at the facts of the case. One thing
- 57:23Speaker 10: you will notice, I'll say this quickly, is that all
- 57:26Speaker 10: of the attacks on McCarthy, they're always as they were
- 57:30Speaker 10: on people like like Ken Starr and Lucy Aanner. And
- 57:32Speaker 10: I suppose me there are all these generalities. He was
- 57:35Speaker 10: a liar. He was a big fat liar. He destroyed reputations.
- 57:40Speaker 10: But my book has the facts, and you'll notice their
- 57:45Speaker 10: side does tend to not rely heavily on facts or
- 57:50Speaker 10: to repeat the the myths that they have created about him.
- 57:55Speaker 10: One of my friends is living in Japan at the
- 57:58Speaker 10: time a lot of the public they published my book Trees,
- 58:01Speaker 10: and he said the publisher came to him and when
- 58:04Speaker 10: he read the book, he said, this book says the
- 58:05Speaker 10: opposite of everything I've ever heard about Joe McCarthy, every
- 58:09Speaker 10: book we've ever published about that period of history. But
- 58:13Speaker 10: I believe hers because she has facts.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Now, Joe McCarthy with the communist stuff, I assumed communists
- 58:18Speaker 1: to be talking about Russians. Who was looking for Russian
- 58:20Speaker 1: influence in American government? Is that what it is?
- 58:22Speaker 10: Well, specifically, that was the only thing he was interested
- 58:26Speaker 10: in in our state, our state department. I go through
- 58:29Speaker 10: what the equivalent would have been at the beginning of
- 58:31Speaker 10: the War on Terror in the Bush administration of all
- 58:35Speaker 10: of these active, active agents with the Communist Party just
- 58:39Speaker 10: riddled throughout our government. He was not going around attacking
- 58:44Speaker 10: journalists or actors, not that I mean Ronald Reagan took
- 58:49Speaker 10: on the Communists in in in Hollywood. It was a
- 58:53Speaker 10: big problem that they were influencing movies in popular culture,
- 58:57Speaker 10: but that wasn't that wasn't McCarthy's thing his. We have
- 59:01Speaker 10: and FDR knew it. We have known members of the
- 59:07Speaker 10: Communist Party working in our government and undermining having enormous
- 59:13Speaker 10: influence on our foreign policy. Now, what was crucial about
- 59:16Speaker 10: when I published Treason is the Venona Papers had had
- 59:20Speaker 10: been released thanks to the work of Daniel Patrick moynihan.
- 59:26Speaker 10: This whole time during the fifties. We couldn't release it
- 59:29Speaker 10: because we didn't want them to know, so the public
- 59:31Speaker 10: never knew. We had figured out how to read Soviet cable.
- 59:37Speaker 10: Some small outfit within I think it was within the military,
- 59:43Speaker 10: and they yeah, and it was called the Venona Project,
- 59:45Speaker 10: but I think it was within the military. They were
- 59:47Speaker 10: reading all of these Soviet transcripts. Only a small percentage
- 59:52Speaker 10: of them, like ten percent have been decrypted at this point,
- 59:56Speaker 10: and basically everything everything we Carthy was saying it was
- 1:00:01Speaker 10: it was so much worse. We know, for example, that
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: the Rosenbergs that were communists. His his code name was Liberal.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: But but the myth was created that it was just
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: some poor guy who as a college kid, went to
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: one meeting and he didn't know what it was, and
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: now his whole life is ruined, right, right, and.
- 1:00:25Speaker 10: That was certainly not the case. No, And you could
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: see it in their policy making decisions. I mean the
- 1:00:30Speaker 10: biggest one was, oh, I can't even think of the
- 1:00:35Speaker 10: one that that elder Hiss, Elder Hiss. He was the
- 1:00:40Speaker 10: most damaging to our foreign policy. Sat at Roosevelt's right hand,
- 1:00:46Speaker 10: and he was I mean they were all, you know,
- 1:00:48Speaker 10: these very elite Harvard educated three name wasps and oh, well,
- 1:00:55Speaker 10: you know, some of our children will grow up and
- 1:00:57Speaker 10: be musicians, some will be Communists. But it was just
- 1:01:01Speaker 10: it was just sort of accepted by our elite.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: So we had this problem with the alger Hisses around.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: But didn't McCarthy once the camera showed up go a
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: little crazy and go too far, too many people, too
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: much grand standing.
- 1:01:12Speaker 10: No, actually that that is well for one thing. I mean,
- 1:01:16Speaker 10: look at Trump. Sometimes you do need to be He
- 1:01:20Speaker 10: was very McCarthy was funny, he was boisterous, He was charismatic.
- 1:01:26Speaker 10: He had that Irish charm.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Charismatic McCarthy.
- 1:01:29Speaker 10: Yes, he got Oh he got America's attention. I'll mention,
- 1:01:36Speaker 10: by the way, you know the beause they try to
- 1:01:38Speaker 10: bury this. But the Kennedy family loved McCarthy wanted McCarthy
- 1:01:43Speaker 10: to marry the father Joseph McCarthy wanted his daughter to
- 1:01:48Speaker 10: marry Joe McCarthy. Bob Robert Kennedy worked for McCarthy. He
- 1:01:52Speaker 10: only aside because Roy Cone was was was very, very
- 1:02:00Speaker 10: very smart. McCarthy knew it, so Macarthy so wrote, kne
- 1:02:04Speaker 10: was definitely the top of the heap on that committee.
- 1:02:08Speaker 10: But you know, when I interviewed Robert Kennedy Junior on
- 1:02:13Speaker 10: my sub stack, I started off, I was kind of
- 1:02:16Speaker 10: joking about it. I said, because you know, he's always
- 1:02:18Speaker 10: talking about I don't know measle, vaccines, all this other stuff.
- 1:02:22Speaker 10: And I said, you know, I was thinking he was
- 1:02:23Speaker 10: doing this entire subsect just asking you about Joe McCarthy.
- 1:02:28Speaker 10: And he must have been I had just mentioned to
- 1:02:31Speaker 10: a joke. But the first like twenty minutes, well ten minutes,
- 1:02:34Speaker 10: let's say, is him talking about McCarthy coming and hanging
- 1:02:37Speaker 10: out with the family. Wow, they were so close.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Interesting. So is this still up on substack?
- 1:02:43Speaker 10: Yes it is.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: And what's the book you wrote that deals with McCarthy treason? Treason?
- 1:02:49Speaker 10: Well, now it's all footnoted. And by the way, that
- 1:02:52Speaker 10: was my third book written. I think around two thousand three,
- 1:02:58Speaker 10: two thousand and four. Now, I love all of my books,
- 1:03:02Speaker 10: but this this was all sprung on me, So I'm
- 1:03:05Speaker 10: doing it for memory here. I'm not sure if I
- 1:03:07Speaker 10: was as smooth and describing it as I hope I
- 1:03:10Speaker 10: was when I was promoting the book.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Well, I have the book, and now I got to
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: go back and read the McCarthy stuff. Sounds fascinating. So hey,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: we only got a thirty eighth Ye.
- 1:03:17Speaker 10: Is that it's really interesting and it's nice to talk.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: To you or thank you very much? Ann, thanks for
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: the answer.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Wow, we only got like thirty seconds here. Hey, you know,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: if you go to the Epstein files, you know what
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: name comes up the most in the Epstein Harvard? Harvard.
- 1:03:31Speaker 10: You know, it's funny you say that. I almost made
- 1:03:34Speaker 10: that last put that in last week's column. I wrote
- 1:03:37Speaker 10: about other things, but I had a few points I
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: was going to make about the files, and one was
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: I was just randomly searching names to see how many
- 1:03:44Speaker 10: names came up more often than Trump's. Though, you know
- 1:03:48Speaker 10: you need an asterisk with that. As you know the
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: mentions of Trump that the media is going so crazy over.
- 1:03:57Speaker 10: It's all the mentions are Jeff Epstein announcing Trump. Yeah,
- 1:04:01Speaker 10: something like Trump emailing with him. We're saying, hey, when
- 1:04:05Speaker 10: gonna come to the end, can we see the girls again?
- 1:04:08Speaker 10: It's nothing from Trump. It's that this pedophile hated him.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Yeah, there were bitter enemies for like twenty years in
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: that file. So hey, we're out of time, But everybody
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: get to book treason by and Culter. Read that stuff
