- 0:00Speaker 1: And now Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 1: All right, friends, we're back with another episode of Move
- 0:11Speaker 1: the Sticks. DJ is still cozied up in his bed
- 0:15Speaker 1: following a long, I mean long.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Trip back to the West Coast from Phoenix.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I mean, my goodness, Bucky, can you imagine how hard
- 0:24Speaker 1: that travel must have been for him to not be
- 0:26Speaker 1: here at this show, you know.
- 0:28Speaker 3: D I mean, everybody can say I can't bounce back.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Didn't have many guys that can play back to backs evidently,
- 0:35Speaker 4: and so DJ.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Hey had a long night, work long? Did that answer
- 0:40Speaker 5: the bill? Did that answer the bill this morning? And
- 0:43Speaker 5: say hey, we will get up but that's okay, like
- 0:46Speaker 5: some guys.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Look, but basically all we could say is, you know,
- 0:49Speaker 1: down in San Diego, it's apparently not Grit week. It
- 0:53Speaker 1: is apparently not grit week in the Jeremiah household. And
- 0:58Speaker 1: that's okay. That's okay, djail back, Grant Thos, Bucky Brooks
- 1:01Speaker 1: here with you after a Monday night football double header.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Fact you're watching.
- 1:08Speaker 1: The Manning cast even got a little Scott Hansen from
- 1:12Speaker 1: Red Zone in on the Manning cast there, which was
- 1:17Speaker 1: kind of fun to see Scott give his little red
- 1:19Speaker 1: zone twist with the red alerts there as both the
- 1:21Speaker 1: games were going on a lot of fun, and that's
- 1:25Speaker 1: where we're going to begin. It is time for the
- 1:26Speaker 1: lead block presented by T Mobile for Business. Football needs
- 1:29Speaker 1: a network willing to go the extra yard, and so
- 1:32Speaker 1: do you so go further with T Mobile for Business.
- 1:35Speaker 1: All Right, we got to start with you know, look
- 1:37Speaker 1: a game I think we thought was kind of the
- 1:39Speaker 1: Marquee matchup, one of the Marquie matchups really of the week,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and it was the Baltimore Ravens and the Tampa bay Bucks.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But boy, oh boy, the Ravens are a wagon. I mean,
- 1:50Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson, five Tuddies. We got Derrek Henry going over
- 1:55Speaker 1: a buck sixty on the ground, Bucky. They had five five,
- 1:58Speaker 1: almost five hundred yards of total offense in like fifty plays.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Look, I'm trying not to be a prisoner of the moment,
- 2:06Speaker 4: but right, I'll look, this is about as good as
- 2:10Speaker 4: we've seen this offense looks. And the thing is they're
- 2:13Speaker 4: doing it differently, but they're still the same. Meaning from
- 2:17Speaker 4: a cultural standpoint, they still want to be a physical,
- 2:20Speaker 4: smash mob team. They still want to run the football,
- 2:23Speaker 4: but they're just doing it in such a different style
- 2:24Speaker 4: than they did it. I would say in Greg romans heyday,
- 2:27Speaker 4: with Lamar Jackson playing at an MVP level, then not
- 2:30Speaker 4: as much zone read, but just a very creative and
- 2:33Speaker 4: dynamic running game. But I tweeted this in the middle
- 2:36Speaker 4: of the game. I don't know if there's a more
- 2:37Speaker 4: perfect marriage than Derrick Henry joining the Baltimore Ravens to
- 2:42Speaker 4: play the role that he's playing within the scheme that
- 2:44Speaker 4: he's playing again for the team, and the culture that
- 2:48Speaker 4: he's also participating in the rest of the league.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Let that happen.
- 2:53Speaker 4: But the Baltimore Ravens are certainly the biggest beneficiaries of
- 2:56Speaker 4: a two time rushing champion joining their squad while Steel
- 3:00Speaker 4: playing I guess in his.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Prime, I mean, my goodness, eleven yards of pop.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Obviously the eighty one yard run had a lot to
- 3:08Speaker 1: do with it, but still fifteen carries, buck sixty nine
- 3:13Speaker 1: on the ground, Lamar just Lamar had as many touchdown
- 3:16Speaker 1: passes as he did incompletions in the game.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That was fine. And you know what's kind of interesting.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I think, you know, we.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Talked a lot about you know, Za Flowers last year, right,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Mark Andrews, even though Mark Andrews you know, had a
- 3:27Speaker 1: very quiet, you know, first quarter of the season, really
- 3:30Speaker 1: started to come on the last couple of weeks. Two
- 3:32Speaker 1: touchdowns in this last game, Justice Hill is I think
- 3:36Speaker 1: a bigger piece of the attack now that Derrick Henry
- 3:39Speaker 1: is there in the backfield. And then look like Rashad
- 3:43Speaker 1: Bateman has been like the forgotten man on this offense.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Let's not forget he was a first round draft pick
- 3:47Speaker 1: for this team, and here he goes for four and
- 3:51Speaker 1: a touchdown, a fifty nine yarder like this, This Ravens
- 3:55Speaker 1: offense kind of feels like in a different way, but Bucky, like,
- 4:00Speaker 1: stop me if I'm wrong here. It kind of feels
- 4:02Speaker 1: like the Lions in that they have so many different
- 4:05Speaker 1: ways that they can beat you.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Wide outs, running backs, the whole thing.
- 4:09Speaker 4: They are really the complete package on offense and they're
- 4:13Speaker 4: doing it and I would say a very creative but
- 4:16Speaker 4: an understated way. Right, Like everyone gets touches, everyone is
- 4:19Speaker 4: getting the ball. It's not one person dominating all of
- 4:23Speaker 4: the action. They just find a way to keep all
- 4:25Speaker 4: their playmakers engaged and involved, and it makes it very
- 4:29Speaker 4: difficult for the defense. To deal with, because when you
- 4:32Speaker 4: start out, you have to have a plan for dealing
- 4:34Speaker 4: with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson in every combination of
- 4:39Speaker 4: option plays, bootleg plays, whatever it is that they want
- 4:42Speaker 4: to do to make you defend both, it starts there,
- 4:46Speaker 4: and then they have the right pieces around them with
- 4:48Speaker 4: the two tight ends, you got to play makers. They Flowers,
- 4:51Speaker 4: the emergence of Raja Bateman as a dependable high end receiver.
- 4:55Speaker 4: I mean, they throw a lot at you, but I
- 4:57Speaker 4: think they're going to have to continue to play like
- 5:00Speaker 4: this and to their defense and get back to playing
- 5:03Speaker 4: the style of the ball that we used to see
- 5:05Speaker 4: him from them. But offensively, they're as good as it
- 5:08Speaker 4: gets in the national football team.
- 5:09Speaker 1: And it's so kind of interesting to watch this thing
- 5:12Speaker 1: with the bus. I mean, they're up ten to nothing
- 5:14Speaker 1: into the first quarter. You know at home, you're like,
- 5:16Speaker 1: all right, all right, like them showing up, jumping them right, Yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know, Mike Evans catches the twenty five yard tuddy
- 5:23Speaker 1: and then the Ravens score thirty four unanswered points in
- 5:30Speaker 1: about twenty minutes a game time.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Like one o'clock.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I mean, it was just an absolute assault at that
- 5:37Speaker 1: point with with with the rains and then like in
- 5:40Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, like give it to the box. I
- 5:42Speaker 1: mean they kept kind of comming, they kept comming at them.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But this this was not as close as the ten
- 5:46Speaker 1: point margin would would lead you to believe. I feel
- 5:49Speaker 1: like in this game.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know the Bucks give them credit for
- 5:54Speaker 4: fighting back at the end, ye kind of getting into
- 5:55Speaker 4: the mix.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But it was a very costly Uh oh, tim boy.
- 6:00Speaker 4: That can call the game because not only do you
- 6:02Speaker 4: lose Mike Evans, but then at the end of the game,
- 6:04Speaker 4: I mean you talk about like the waning moments of
- 6:07Speaker 4: the contest.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Forty seconds you lose Chris Godwin.
- 6:10Speaker 4: And the bad thing about it, like there is I mean,
- 6:13Speaker 4: people are going to ty bowles for Wise in the
- 6:15Speaker 4: game and those things. But you have to remember only
- 6:17Speaker 4: fifty three man roster. Mike Evan goes down, so you
- 6:20Speaker 4: don't know how many wide receivers you have activated. Godwin
- 6:23Speaker 4: is up and you look, it's the nightmare scenario for
- 6:26Speaker 4: every here at coach is to have someone get hurt
- 6:28Speaker 4: in garbage time. So unfortunately, Chris Godwin suffers a look
- 6:33Speaker 4: what appears to be a very catastrophic injury just located
- 6:36Speaker 4: ankle and just all bad man. It's just look, your
- 6:41Speaker 4: heart goes out for Chris Godwin. You kind of feel
- 6:44Speaker 4: bad for Todd Bowles for being in that situation. And look,
- 6:48Speaker 4: I just wanted a team that was well positioned to
- 6:51Speaker 4: be a playoff team to maybe win the division.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Where did they go from here?
- 6:55Speaker 4: Without like I would say, one receiver one beat available
- 7:00Speaker 4: while receiver one A is sitting on the sideline nurse
- 7:03Speaker 4: in a hamstring.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, And I think I'll get to that
- 7:06Speaker 1: in a second. It's it is a tough one for
- 7:09Speaker 1: Chris Godwin, right, who may have now played his last
- 7:14Speaker 1: game as a Tampa Bay buccaneer, which which makes it
- 7:17Speaker 1: all the more difficult because he's got a void. Uh.
- 7:20Speaker 1: He essentially becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season,
- 7:24Speaker 1: and you know, he's had a he's had a season
- 7:26Speaker 1: ning injury before, right, and and come back for it,
- 7:29Speaker 1: come back strong. And you know, you could see him
- 7:31Speaker 1: mouthing on the cart as he's going off to the
- 7:34Speaker 1: trainer in the back. He's like, Okay, back to work now,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and that's you know, as he's getting carted off the field,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I just what a great dude, What a great, you
- 7:44Speaker 1: know receiver he has been for this franchise. If that
- 7:46Speaker 1: is in fact the end, he has I mean, made
- 7:49Speaker 1: an immeasurable impact on that team in the years that
- 7:51Speaker 1: he has been there. I hope it's not hope he
- 7:53Speaker 1: gets to run it back again, just kind of like
- 7:55Speaker 1: Mike Evans did. And now you know, who knows what
- 7:58Speaker 1: Mike Evans hamstring injury. They can get an mr to
- 8:00Speaker 1: kind of determine what's going on there and how long
- 8:02Speaker 1: he's going to be out. But here's the thing that
- 8:04Speaker 1: keeps the Bucks afloat the NFC South. Oh yeah, I
- 8:08Speaker 1: mean there's nobody running away with this division. I mean
- 8:11Speaker 1: you essentially count the Panthers out at this point, the Saints,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I mean, who knows what's going on there?
- 8:16Speaker 2: In a five game losing streak, and you know it's the.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Bucks and the Falcons, and the Falcons just lost to
- 8:21Speaker 1: Seattle at home, and now it's like, okay, well, you
- 8:25Speaker 1: know the Bucks are four and three, like it's you know,
- 8:27Speaker 1: it's not the end of the world, and you've got
- 8:29Speaker 1: to find a way to kind of set aside the
- 8:31Speaker 1: emotion of losing two bona fide leaders of your team
- 8:35Speaker 1: one perhaps for the season, the other for maybe a
- 8:38Speaker 1: couple of weeks and figure out a way to manufacture
- 8:40Speaker 1: victories and stay afloat here.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Man, it is so tough to like say, hey, this
- 8:46Speaker 4: is how we're going to go about it, this is
- 8:47Speaker 4: what we're gonna do. But that's what they have to do.
- 8:48Speaker 4: They have to figure out a way to continue to
- 8:51Speaker 4: make it happen. And you're right, the NFC South is
- 8:54Speaker 4: wide open for them. It's there for them to take it. Defensively,
- 8:57Speaker 4: they certainly can make it very messy for everyone. They
- 9:00Speaker 4: had a competing whip and namely as the Atlanta Falcons.
- 9:04Speaker 4: It'll be tough. But with the trade deadline coming and
- 9:07Speaker 4: a snag a wide receiver, maybe Mike Williams to kind
- 9:10Speaker 4: of temporarily fill the void at their wide receiver spot.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Do they have enough cap space to be able to
- 9:15Speaker 4: do that, But I think they have to at least
- 9:17Speaker 4: explore the possibilities of adding a wide receiver that can
- 9:20Speaker 4: kind of make them hole while the number one gap,
- 9:23Speaker 4: Mike Evans, is on the sideline.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Indeed, so we'll we'll kind of keep an eye on
- 9:27Speaker 1: how the Bucks move forward here as they deal with
- 9:30Speaker 1: injuries to keep players. I mean, one thing to keep
- 9:33Speaker 1: in mind is that they kind of now have like
- 9:35Speaker 1: three guys though in the backfield.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Rashad White came on, you know, at a big day
- 9:41Speaker 2: through the air.
- 9:41Speaker 1: He caught two touchdowns from Baker Mayfield, I know one
- 9:44Speaker 1: of them was late in that kind of you know,
- 9:46Speaker 1: that run up. And then Bucky Irving has been really
- 9:49Speaker 1: good as a rookie. Sean Tucker, the second year player
- 9:52Speaker 1: out of Syracuse, we were already talking about last week.
- 9:54Speaker 1: So maybe they can kind of morph a little bit
- 9:58Speaker 1: offensively into something, you know, that accentuates the guys that
- 10:01Speaker 1: are going to be available for them on the field.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Let's move to the second game here, Buck and the
- 10:06Speaker 1: second game, of course, featured DJ's Chargers going.
- 10:10Speaker 2: On the road all the way, I mean all.
- 10:13Speaker 4: The way, all the ways.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Glendale Arizona to be to be accurate there where the Cardinals,
- 10:22Speaker 1: you know, came in at three and three. Chargers, you know,
- 10:25Speaker 1: came in at three and two and now leave at
- 10:30Speaker 1: three and three. After Arizona comes up with kind of
- 10:32Speaker 1: a gritty win, seventeen to fifteen win on a last
- 10:35Speaker 1: second field goal from Chad Ryland.
- 10:38Speaker 2: It was all field goals for the Chargers.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Cameron Dicker hit five field goals, they could not get
- 10:44Speaker 1: the ball in the end zone. In fact, their best
- 10:47Speaker 1: player on offense in this on this day was Will
- 10:49Speaker 1: Disley eight catches eighty one yards, a guy we don't
- 10:53Speaker 1: think about a lot in the past.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Game that way, Buck.
- 10:56Speaker 1: So let's let's first start with the Cardinals and James
- 11:02Speaker 1: Connor at a big day, like would you see from
- 11:04Speaker 1: that unit and that outfit to get this win?
- 11:07Speaker 4: And the Cardinals continue to be like a team that
- 11:09Speaker 4: can surprise, you know, they have these ups and downs
- 11:13Speaker 4: where one week they played really well, the next week
- 11:15Speaker 4: you just don't know what you're getting. But I give
- 11:17Speaker 4: Jonathan Gannon a lot of credit as Calin Murray is
- 11:21Speaker 4: rounding in the form and really getting back to the
- 11:23Speaker 4: Klin Murray that was offensive Rookie of the Year, a
- 11:27Speaker 4: gut that has played at a Pro Bowl level. This
- 11:29Speaker 4: offense can do a few different things, and even though
- 11:32Speaker 4: he didn't have a magical performance, it's thread of him
- 11:35Speaker 4: being able to do it as a runner and as
- 11:37Speaker 4: a thrower that assess up some things. But James Connor
- 11:39Speaker 4: having one hundred yard game, being able to average over
- 11:41Speaker 4: five yards to carry the physicality and the toughness.
- 11:44Speaker 3: That he brings.
- 11:45Speaker 4: It was just enough for an offense that really couldn't
- 11:48Speaker 4: find his sea legs early, but did just enough to
- 11:51Speaker 4: win the game in the end of the Fourth War.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a good way to put it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: The ups and downs, Like they got to find a
- 11:56Speaker 1: way to kind of flatten out that bell curve because
- 11:59Speaker 1: they do the highs and the lows here, and I
- 12:01Speaker 1: think that's the sign of a good team is to
- 12:04Speaker 1: kind of limit well, certainly to limit the lows. I mean,
- 12:07Speaker 1: like you certainly live with the highs, but they need
- 12:09Speaker 1: to find a bit more consistency and how they're kind
- 12:12Speaker 1: of going about their business in these games. You look at,
- 12:15Speaker 1: you know, the numbers, and it's like it wasn't overly
- 12:17Speaker 1: impressive really from anybody mentioned. You know, James Connor had
- 12:20Speaker 1: maybe the best individual performance you know, of the day.
- 12:23Speaker 2: In fact, you know, he was.
- 12:24Speaker 1: The guy I think that punched out the football from
- 12:27Speaker 1: tier Tart when he had the interception early in the game,
- 12:31Speaker 1: Like tier Tart picked off Kyler Murray and then I
- 12:34Speaker 1: think it was Connor knocked the ball out. Cardinals recovered,
- 12:37Speaker 1: so they avoided having a you know, a turnover there
- 12:40Speaker 1: early in the game, and you know they end up
- 12:43Speaker 1: getting their first touchdown from Greg Dortch. Again, Marvin Harrison
- 12:47Speaker 1: kind of limited in this game. Three catches, twenty one yards,
- 12:50Speaker 1: just didn't have a ton of big time performances. But
- 12:52Speaker 1: again credit to them for figuring out a way to
- 12:54Speaker 1: get the win. Kyler Murray again with one of those
- 12:56Speaker 1: long runs forty four yards for score for the Chargers.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I mean, justin Herbert throws for three hundred and forty
- 13:04Speaker 1: nine yards that you can't get it into the end zone.
- 13:06Speaker 2: What do you make of that?
- 13:08Speaker 4: Well, I mean some of it is by design in
- 13:10Speaker 4: terms of what the Cardinals were doing defensively. I didn't
- 13:13Speaker 4: mind conceding, and the fact that you know, it's funny
- 13:15Speaker 4: when you look at the stat sheet.
- 13:17Speaker 3: There is not a notable name that has a big day.
- 13:20Speaker 4: So it's kind of by a committee that he gets
- 13:23Speaker 4: twenty seven receptions three hundred and forty nine yards.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I mean, that's different.
- 13:27Speaker 4: But what always is kind of the litmus tests or
- 13:30Speaker 4: the tailtale for the charge will be the running game.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Twenty two carries only fifty nine yards like that, that's
- 13:36Speaker 4: not enough to do it any football the way the
- 13:39Speaker 4: way that they want to get it done.
- 13:41Speaker 3: That's not going to do it.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Averaging two point seven yards per carry that is not enough.
- 13:45Speaker 4: And when you think about how they're trying to do
- 13:47Speaker 4: it to grind it out, the longest run was eleven yards.
- 13:51Speaker 4: It's hard to win football in the National Football win
- 13:54Speaker 4: games in the Nation Football League when you don't have
- 13:55Speaker 4: an explosive play on the ground.
- 13:58Speaker 3: It's hard.
- 13:59Speaker 4: And they are not getting the explosive plays. And you know,
- 14:01Speaker 4: after you see the success that JK. Dobbins had early,
- 14:05Speaker 4: man just botted them up and they made it a
- 14:06Speaker 4: very one dimensional game for the Chargers, and it's not
- 14:09Speaker 4: the dimension that they want to rely on, which is
- 14:11Speaker 4: a passing game.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and I mean I'm looking at this, you know now,
- 14:15Speaker 1: only one trip to the red zone, right, only one
- 14:18Speaker 1: trip on five scoring possessions, and that one ended at
- 14:21Speaker 1: the Arizona ten yard line. The other possessions end at
- 14:23Speaker 1: the Arizona forty four, the forty one, the thirty two,
- 14:26Speaker 1: the Arizona forty six, the Arizona twenty nine, the Arizona
- 14:29Speaker 1: twenty two. Like they really that Cardinals defense, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 1: perhaps by design, as you're talking about, really kind of
- 14:35Speaker 1: stiffened up when they got a little bit, you know,
- 14:37Speaker 1: closer into their own ends. So see if the Chargers
- 14:40Speaker 1: can figure out a way to kind of punch through,
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, that ceiling when they get in close and
- 14:45Speaker 1: have an opportunity to put a put the football on
- 14:47Speaker 1: the paint, can't settle for three in those situations. The
- 14:51Speaker 1: Chargers finish six of fourteen on third down, and that's again,
- 14:57Speaker 1: that's not quite winning football. I'd like to see that now.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I mean, that's it's almost fifty percent, I guess. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: mean you could have worse, certainly. I mean, the Cardinals
- 15:04Speaker 1: only converted two third downs in this game. It's still
- 15:07Speaker 1: in the winnings, So I mean sometimes it's just kind of,
- 15:10Speaker 1: you know, it's it's like who can make a play
- 15:12Speaker 1: for us in a in a big spot.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And the Chargers just didn't seem to have it in
- 15:17Speaker 2: that one. Okay.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So everybody is back in next week, so a chance
- 15:24Speaker 1: for both the Chargers and the Bucks to recover as
- 15:28Speaker 1: they go into Week eight in the NFL. For the Chargers,
- 15:31Speaker 1: it's going to be a matchup at home against the
- 15:33Speaker 1: two and five Saints, and then for the Bucks they'll
- 15:36Speaker 1: try to get back on track. Is a big one
- 15:38Speaker 1: against the Falcons next week, and they'll get the They'll
- 15:41Speaker 1: get the Falcons in Tampa at home, and then for
- 15:44Speaker 1: the winners, the Ravens are traveling a ball to Cleveland
- 15:47Speaker 1: to battle the Browns, and then for the Cardinals, they'll
- 15:50Speaker 1: head down to Miami to take on the Dolphins. Okay,
- 15:54Speaker 1: so that right there is a rap for the lead

- 15:59Speaker 1: network willing to go the extra yard, and so do you,
- 16:01Speaker 1: so go further with T Mobile for Business.
- 16:04Speaker 2: All right, we're.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Gonna take a quick break and when we come back,
- 16:07Speaker 1: it's time for the Week seven Rookie Draft recap and
- 16:11Speaker 1: the Week eight actual draft that's next.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Well, it's good. It's a good thing.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I'm wearing uh, wearing my Hoosiers gear here because we
- 16:24Speaker 1: are winning in that regard. Did not win in the
- 16:28Speaker 1: rookie draft. Uh this week, Bucko used to dominate.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Dominate. You went Drake May and dominated.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna gets myself that's hard.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Well, you had one on both sides, right you You
- 16:42Speaker 1: won with both Drake May and Brian Thomas Junior. So
- 16:46Speaker 1: you got three points there. Uh, and then you probably
- 16:49Speaker 1: would have won if we had just chosen running backs,
- 16:51Speaker 1: because Bucky Irving ends up with sixteen Fantasy points. But
- 16:54Speaker 1: I end up winning that round because I had brought
- 16:57Speaker 1: Bowers end up scoring nineteen, so he gave me three points.
- 17:02Speaker 1: DJ remember had the first pick. It took Jade and
- 17:05Speaker 1: Daniels unfortunately got injured.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Part of the game. Injuries part of the game week
- 17:10Speaker 2: to week for Jayden Daniels.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Hope he is back. So that didn't work out. He
- 17:15Speaker 1: got one point or what do we give him a
- 17:18Speaker 1: point for.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Participation? Kind of like it?
- 17:22Speaker 1: I guess I guess we did, yeah, because he give
- 17:27Speaker 1: him looking at him as as third in everything, So
- 17:31Speaker 1: that's that's the way it works. Right now, Bucky's got
- 17:33Speaker 1: the lead thirty two overall points. DJ and I are
- 17:39Speaker 1: tied for second at twenty or tied for last. However
- 17:42Speaker 1: you want to look at it with twenty six points
- 17:44Speaker 1: after week seven, so Nebil is going to fearlessly make
- 17:49Speaker 1: picks for DJ here and I am going to have
- 17:55Speaker 1: the second pick. You're going to have the first pick Bucky.
- 17:58Speaker 1: So it's going to go Bucky me and then DJ
- 18:01Speaker 1: will go back to back with no Bill picking our
- 18:04Speaker 1: race producer in his stead.
- 18:07Speaker 2: All right, no buys this week, Bucky.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Only injury that we're dealing with is Jaden Daniels, which
- 18:11Speaker 1: kind of does throw a wrench in a little bit
- 18:13Speaker 1: of our draft strategy.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Here. Where are you going with the first pick?
- 18:18Speaker 4: You know, Red, this is This is tough, right, because
- 18:20Speaker 4: normally you always want to go chalk when you have
- 18:22Speaker 4: the number one overall pick. Uh.
- 18:24Speaker 3: The easy pick would be to.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Say, hey man, I'm gonna take Kaya Williams. I know
- 18:28Speaker 4: it's a battle between potential rookies with Jayden Daniels, but
- 18:32Speaker 4: then I'm looking at bo Nick's taking on the Carolina Panthers,
- 18:35Speaker 4: and I'm just looking at how everyone has had like a.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Lot of fun, and there's a part of me that
- 18:41Speaker 3: is pulled in that direction. But I don't want to
- 18:45Speaker 3: get too cheous. I'm gonna take Kaya Williams. But it
- 18:50Speaker 3: was a thought. I was thinking about it.
- 18:53Speaker 2: But just okay, so you can do it, all right.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Hopefully we get that rookie versus rookie matchup at quarterback
- 18:59Speaker 1: with Kayla and the Bears going to landover Maryland to
- 19:02Speaker 1: battle what we hope is Jayden Daniels and the Commanders
- 19:05Speaker 1: but I can't in good faith make that selection, or
- 19:09Speaker 1: I suppose I could. I suppose I could, although, like
- 19:13Speaker 1: what if he gets hit again and he goes he
- 19:15Speaker 1: has to go out, you know, because maybe I could
- 19:17Speaker 1: sub one out if Jayden does, in fact play, I
- 19:21Speaker 1: don't know.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I don't know if I want to do that. I
- 19:22Speaker 2: don't know if I want to do that right now.
- 19:23Speaker 1: So what I'm gonna do, uh in this case is
- 19:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna look at the fact.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Oh gosh, I got the Jags playing the Packers this week,
- 19:34Speaker 2: stay away from.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Brian Thomas Junior. I got the Giants playing this elite
- 19:39Speaker 1: neighbors playing the Steelers this week.
- 19:42Speaker 2: That's not great.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I think what I'm gonna do is, I'm gonna take
- 19:45Speaker 1: the safest pick right now. Oh man, we got brock
- 19:48Speaker 1: Bauers playing the Chiefs.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Oh, these are tough matchups here, guys.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Goodness gracious, that's what it should be.
- 19:55Speaker 3: It should be very tough, it be challenging.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I suppose it good.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Okay, So with that in mind, I'm gonna go back
- 20:05Speaker 1: and take Gosh, I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Melik Neighbors.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I just I feel like there's gonna be something there,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and uh give me Melik Neighbors to get back on
- 20:17Speaker 1: track here with the Giants.
- 20:19Speaker 2: So that means DJ's up with two picks. Who you
- 20:21Speaker 2: got Nobil? All right?
- 20:22Speaker 1: Nobile is gonna take brock Bowers with one. I just
- 20:26Speaker 1: think if you're the if you're the Chiefs, like, that's
- 20:27Speaker 1: all you're That's all you're scared of is brock Powers.
- 20:31Speaker 1: And he's gonna go BETJ. So he's gonna go brocking
- 20:33Speaker 1: BETJ two favorite on the mo.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Yeah, whoa, what what? What? What are we doing? BTJ
- 20:42Speaker 3: is supposed to be my guy?
- 20:43Speaker 1: No, no, no, you're not gonna get it. You're not
- 20:47Speaker 1: gonna get it, all right. So I think what I'm
- 20:48Speaker 1: gonna do here is probably take a look at the quarterback.
- 20:52Speaker 1: So I've got the choice. I've got Drake May against
- 20:57Speaker 1: the Jets. Matchups are not not great. Or bow Nicks
- 21:02Speaker 1: against the Pants. Give me bo Nix against the Panthers. Baby,
- 21:05Speaker 1: let me have it.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Give me Bo Nicks.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I gave you, I gave you. I gave you that pick.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, you did, like you just I mean,
- 21:13Speaker 4: I just get points for that if it if it works.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Out, yeah, yeah, maybe you can get an agent fee
- 21:17Speaker 2: on that one.
- 21:18Speaker 1: All right, So you got back to backers to close
- 21:20Speaker 1: it out here, Buck, So you've got your quarterback, you
- 21:22Speaker 1: need two skill position players.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Sixth and seventh pick of this draft.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Right now, I'm I'm really at a loss because you
- 21:29Speaker 4: guys took my security blanket.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you gonna do? I mean, let's just
- 21:34Speaker 2: let's take a look here.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Let's well, I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking the forty
- 21:39Speaker 4: nine ers, and I'm thinking Ricky pearsall wow, I'm thinking
- 21:43Speaker 4: pretty richy is because I got Deebo Samuel who doesn't
- 21:47Speaker 4: feel well. I have Brandon Nyuk whiz out. I have
- 21:50Speaker 4: John Jennings who's unavailable.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yeah, we okay, I.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Gotta throw it to somebody. Pearsol, come on down.
- 21:58Speaker 3: We got to figure out a way to get him in.
- 22:00Speaker 2: We're just gonna let's go slick, Rick, come on, pay me.
- 22:03Speaker 4: So we got we got Pierce, we got Pearceal on deck,
- 22:06Speaker 4: and now you know I couldn't get Oh you know what,
- 22:11Speaker 4: I could get him. I'm gonna do it two for one.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I'm gonna do Caleb Williams and Roma Doomsday. Oh I'm
- 22:19Speaker 4: gonna say that he targets the gup early and often
- 22:22Speaker 4: and somehow they find a way to get into the pay.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Interesting, that's interesting.
- 22:27Speaker 4: I don't really have a choice. I mean, he guys
- 22:30Speaker 4: out there. Not a lot of Ricky's out there putting
- 22:33Speaker 4: up big numbers.
- 22:34Speaker 2: No, no, there isn't.
- 22:37Speaker 3: And then Marma Harrison Junior with the concussion. I don't
- 22:39Speaker 3: know when he's gonna be available.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Well, I mean like he was.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You know, he's back this week, but it just didn't
- 22:44Speaker 1: feel like he was all the way back. You know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: he's healthy, but like involved in the offense, it just
- 22:51Speaker 1: didn't feel totally right there. And so what I'm gonna
- 22:55Speaker 1: do then is.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Oh and a tough week for the rookies.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I'm thinking here is I'm gonna
- 23:09Speaker 1: go back to the well with Bucky Irving. So you
- 23:13Speaker 1: give me Bucky Irving here to continue to be a
- 23:17Speaker 1: bigger piece of the Bucks offense. Bucky Irving and the
- 23:21Speaker 1: Bucks taking on the Falcons in a big game. Oh no,
- 23:25Speaker 1: Bill is doing the is doing the kind of the
- 23:28Speaker 1: slick move here. He's gonna say, I'm gonna take Jaydon
- 23:30Speaker 1: Daniels for DJ and if he doesn't.
- 23:33Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, no, you gotta make it big.
- 23:37Speaker 3: You don't get you don't get to have option one to.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Come on, Yeah, what are we doing? It is tough.
- 23:44Speaker 2: It is tough, all right.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I think what we're gonna do is is we're gonna
- 23:50Speaker 1: say we're gonna give DJ Drake May. We're just gonna
- 23:53Speaker 1: make an executive decision here and you're gonna yeah, that's
- 23:58Speaker 1: you can't you can't do that with a number one pick. Okay,
- 24:01Speaker 1: so you're gonna go, DJ gets Drake May, mark it down.
- 24:05Speaker 1: That's where that's where we're at with this one. I
- 24:07Speaker 1: appreciate your effort on that one to Bil and I
- 24:09Speaker 1: know DJ would have appreciated it too. But we're gonna
- 24:11Speaker 1: make the executive decision because he decided not to show
- 24:13Speaker 1: up today.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Okay, that's where wrapping no stick and lobster there, it
- 24:18Speaker 2: is no surf and turf today. All right. That's good.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Do it for us here on this episode of Move
- 24:24Speaker 1: the Sticks. But of course back with each and every
- 24:26Speaker 1: day this week. So for Bucky Brooks, I'm reet Lewis
- 24:28Speaker 1: and the cozily sleeping Daniel Jeremiah will be back later
- 24:32Speaker 1: this week as well, and we'll see you down a road,
