Today is National Moose Day, light, airy and gone in seconds.
• 0:17
Moose originated in France and was made by whipping eggs and
• 0:20
cream together into a light, airy foam.
• 0:24
Now we associate it with dessert, but originally it was
• 0:27
also made as a savory dish. That is interesting, but I think
• 0:32
the delicious, sweet version is what we're talking about today.
• 0:36
And that brings us to today's quote from Nicolette M Dumkey,
• 0:40
who once wrote dessert is one of the simple pleasures of life
• 0:44
which have sustained people during difficult times.
• 0:48

• 0:56
And that's exactly why it matters.
• 1:00

• 1:03
When everything is complicated, dessert is simple.
• 1:08
So today, find something light. Literally, Make moose.
• 1:12
  Or just choose lightness figuratively.
• 1:16
Not every moment needs weight. Some deserve to be airy.
• 1:20
Dumpke understood. Simple pleasures sustain us.
• 1:26
That's going to do it for today. I'm Anna McGivern, signing off
• 1:29
for now, but I'll be back tomorrow.
