- 0:01On page 469 you're pointing out this idea and mentally one has
- 0:10to realize besides for through practice and through becoming
- 0:14accustomed to being adapting to being low key and being fine
- 0:18with that. He talks about the need mentally
- 0:22to see yourself in a low key manner, which three ways, where
- 0:25you came from, where you're headed and who you're going to
- 0:28stand in front of. And again, it initially it
- 0:30sounds like a very strong approach.
- 0:33I came from a small drop of something.
- 0:37I'm going to be to dirt eventually, and I'm going to
- 0:40stand in front of how sham be sound very tough.
- 0:42But what it's really telling you is be real yourself.
- 0:45Don't allow all the sketch and all the, you know, the persona
- 0:49that we build and the image that we think of ourselves and the
- 0:52reflection everything other people think of us, want others
- 0:54to think of us. Don't allow that to be the
- 0:57guiding definition of ourselves. Become much more real with
- 1:01yourself and you're functioning far.
- 1:03By the way, we said yesterday, being down to earth literally
- 1:06means down to earth because every person will be in the
- 1:08earth one day and down at the earth also means you're very
- 1:12real. You love when you see a person
- 1:15who's a big deal and you can talk to them like your actual
- 1:20right. You like when you see such a
- 1:21person we can talk to a normal way who actually doesn't make it
- 1:26sound like their life is perfect and they know exactly what
- 1:28they're doing, right? They actually make themselves
- 1:31silly, the human being. Oh, and their home they have,
- 1:33you know, I love when people say this because they came from a
- 1:36rabbi home. I love when people say, oh,
- 1:38really? Rabbis also deal with like, you
- 1:40know, like raising children and Shalom, buy it and, you know,
- 1:44and figure out how to pay the bills or whatever else you deal
- 1:46with. Oh, yeah, sure they do.
- 1:48Absolutely I do. And it's no condition at all.
- 1:50And maybe they have the Toronto on the side, so they have a
- 1:53little more and they definitely have a lot more guidance, stuff
- 1:55like that. But they deal with life too,
- 1:57just the same. That's called being down to
- 2:00earth. And any person that you deal
- 2:01with who's a big deal, who's a hotshot and then acts down to
- 2:05Earth, you love it. Why you love it?
- 2:06Because they're being human. What he's telling you over here
- 2:08is every single person on Earth should be down to earth.
- 2:13How they do get to get that way, knowing where they came from,
- 2:16where they're headed and whom they're going to face one day.
- 2:19Because when they face Hashem, they sure are going to be very
- 2:23real with themselves. And they got no choice but to be
- 2:26very much genuine and say, was I good?
- 2:29Was I not good? Did I make mistakes?
- 2:30Did I do the right thing? And they'll be much more real.
- 2:33So you might as well be that same real right now.
- 2:35That's what he told you right now.
- 2:37I hope so. I hope so.
- 2:41That's always my father used to say right now The Who made lift
- 2:48him freelance in the bottom of 469 more men lift him Garua
- 2:54pahoot Venezuela meets a small person going to stand in front
- 2:56of Hashem very limited in his mind full of flaws in front of
- 3:02Hashem Tami and we'll go all the with southern miles up and he's
- 3:05going to have imperfections and impurities and moments that he's
- 3:09embarrassed about Hayarimrush. You think he's going to raise
- 3:12his head. You think he's going to walk
- 3:14into God's head held high, chest out?
- 3:17I don't think so. Things open up his mouth and
- 3:20say, God, let me tell you about my life.
- 3:21Let me tell you what I did. Let me tell you about my
- 3:25accomplishments. I don't think so.
- 3:27And they ask him now where now is your mouth?
- 3:31Where's your confidence? Talk about your bravado.
- 3:33Let's hear right. Where's all your arrogance?
- 3:39Where's all your big bravado? Where's all your you know, your
- 3:41big name. Tell us about your name.
- 3:43Tell us about who you are. You think the guy's gonna start
- 3:45talking and saying you know what I did?
- 3:47How should you know what I accomplish?
- 3:49You should have seen me there. You should have seen me how I
- 3:51told them off in the meeting. You should have seen how how
- 3:54impressive I was when I made the deal.
- 3:56I don't think so. Instead, the person that go in
- 3:59is heavy to his legs. Probably right embarrassed.
- 4:01Why? Because the truth is about to
- 4:03come out. So let's be real right now.
- 4:04How about Maya or Maya sheep? I'll talk after.
- 4:08What's he going to answer? What will be his response to the
- 4:11rebuke? He Nevada.
- 4:13It's definite Shiloh vada Shiloh.
- 4:17He had, He said I'd done Mr. Ho, I met Azeh and you give him one
- 4:23second. There's no doubt that a person
- 4:26will imagine the truth in his mind even for one moment.
- 4:31Right parua to flock middle cola gava without a shoe.
- 4:35They'll race away from him all his arrogance and he'll have 0
- 4:40arrogance left. That's the reality.
- 4:41Real life is all is. Galva will go flying, it'll go
- 4:45to the moon because he has nothing to be arguing about.
- 4:49And it's real. When these three points tell you
- 4:51where you came from, where you headed and who you going to
- 4:55face, they don't really tell you some sort of deep punishment.
- 4:58They don't tell you some embarrassing points.
- 5:00What they tell you is be real. If you're real, you'll be the
- 5:04right person. If you're a sketch and you can
- 5:07play all this fake bravado in the world now another way and a
- 5:12person can build his mind, his sense of being low key Hashini
- 5:19who in Yan Hiluf Todotesman Vidov smood up to him, right?
- 5:25The second way a person can be humble is by thinking about the
- 5:28fact that life is so unpredictable.
- 5:31We all know that to be the case. Life is extremely unpredictable.
- 5:35Things switch, things change in a hobby, right?
- 5:39How many people do you know without the course of history,
- 5:43your life, forget about the world's history, your own life,
- 5:47who are a big deal. Take any scenario in life and
- 5:51imagine so and so is a big deal. You got a lot in school or in
- 5:54high school and an anti high school, all that where the real
- 5:56guys are a big deal. And now they're you know,
- 5:59they're they're they're nothing going for them.
- 6:02That's very sad. Think about those.
- 6:04That's classic. Those guys, as quick as they
- 6:08made it, lost it. Not as quick, but they lost it
- 6:11pretty quick. And how about people who even
- 6:14after that, literally in the community were deemed a big
- 6:17deal? No names, of course, right?
- 6:20They were a big deal. They were well known, they were
- 6:23hot shots, They were the whole thing.
- 6:25And then they had a story. They had a scandal.
- 6:28Even less than that. They just lost it all.
- 6:31And sadly, and not that case anymore.
- 6:33Not at all a big deal. Some of them are ashamed to come
- 6:36out of their home safely, right? There've been many of those
- 6:39throughout the course of the community, Jewish history, the
- 6:41world. Many, many.
- 6:43I mean, you go into the political world, how many
- 6:46politicians ended up in jail or how many politicians at least
- 6:50ended up embarrassed speaking in front of the public, right,
- 6:53because of their scandal or story or failure, you name it.
- 6:57It's a lot out there. There's so many out there.
- 7:00It's pretty much a big percentage of the famous people
- 7:03either remain famous or full. If you know this to be the case
- 7:07and you're aware of the the unpredictability of life, how
- 7:14can a person be arrogant when two years from that point it
- 7:17might be a zero, literally a 0. It's a waste of time.
- 7:20Let's see you too, Kiashi Kaliotani.
- 7:24We know a wealthy person is a couple of steps away.
- 7:27I'm becoming poor. I know a person.
- 7:29I don't know them directly, but I know someone who was their
- 7:33gardener. OK, that's a funny thing.
- 7:35Someone who was their gardener, A landscaper, OK, and his
- 7:39customer, Jewish guy had owned about 10 companies.
- 7:44And not just he owned 10 companies.
- 7:46He had them all set up in a way I don't fully understand how,
- 7:51but as I was told to me he had them all set up in a way that
- 7:55one protects the other. If this one fails, that one
- 8:00backs it up and that one fails another one backs it up.
- 8:04They were investments and they all were there to protect each
- 8:07other. That was a back in the
- 8:08structure. But in his mind this guy was a
- 8:10very well off guy and in his mind he set it up in a way and
- 8:15they protect each other. OK Literally in one day natural
- 8:20in one day one investment failed and the entire thing went
- 8:24totally to dust in one day, so much so that I know from his
- 8:29landscaper he could not pay his landscaper anymore for his lawn
- 8:33for his lawn and the guy that wasn't a small thing to do.
- 8:36The guy out of a different corporations he did he had see a
- 8:40different corporation but somehow back each other up said
- 8:42I don't know exactly how it was something some pull out the
- 8:46needle and only fell apart. Whether it made sense his idea
- 8:49or not clearly didn't. But the point is he probably
- 8:52thought he was so small. He probably thought he was as
- 8:55safe as he gets. He's not just staying.
- 8:56There is no interesting thing. He's saying I'm as safe as it
- 8:58gets because I know we have many examples of people who were
- 9:03extremely well off and made a mistake and the whole thing went
- 9:06off. The whole thing when they made
- 9:07an investment, they were guaranteed that they were fine
- 9:10and now they have to pay it back, right?
- 9:13Is that? Destined to happen.
- 9:15Definitely is. Or is that actual bomb going to
- 9:18happen to his brother the ship sink?
- 9:20I don't know. Yeah, it definitely happens to
- 9:23many people. Who was it?
- 9:24That's not happened. It might have been this guy
- 9:26might have shown a little bit extra arrogance, or maybe he
- 9:29probably played into Inshallah and Munan himself.
- 9:32I'm pretty confident about that. But Hashem still had his opinion
- 9:37and still had what he does. And this tells the person, chill
- 9:42out. Don't be so arrogant.
- 9:43There's no way in the world, any person I had a conversation with
- 9:47someone who's a very big deal today, last week, I had this
- 9:49conversation. I told them any person I know I
- 9:53can play out for you and they're 2 steps away.
- 9:56Outright failure. I'm talking about in our
- 10:00circles, which means in the rabbi shul school, you can find
- 10:05in 2 minutes I can do if you don't want to do it in words out
- 10:09to FEPE, but you can do in 2 minutes how in someone's own
- 10:13could be an outright failure. That school, that shul, that
- 10:16organization, you name it. Right, that's the coded lesson.
- 10:20Right, exactly all the. All the real estate.
- 10:23Together humble them two minutes right it's the way it is and
- 10:26they're all structured that they're based on they're.
- 10:28Selling paper towels with a millionaires.
- 10:30Right. It is no based on one donor.
- 10:34If you go to organizations, they're based on one big thing,
- 10:38or a big family, or a big this or a big block.
- 10:41Anything could change in a minute if you know that it's not
- 10:44meant to scare you, which it does to me.
- 10:46It's meant instead to make you chill out.
- 10:49There's no way you can walk around and bang your chest.
- 10:51How many people don't need to go into details?
- 10:54How many people throughout the history of the community have
- 10:57risen and fallen? How many schools have had their
- 11:01highs and then their lows? How many schools have had the
- 11:03highs and those organizations big time memes.
- 11:06It's been a million. And it's not meant to scare
- 11:09people, but it's meant that people chill out.
- 11:11You're having your high right now.
- 11:12You're on your peak. Just thank our sham and continue
- 11:14walking. Don't be a guy who starts to
- 11:17turn around and say, let me tell you how it works.
- 11:20Let me tell you how you're doing things.
- 11:21Let me tell you how I made it. I don't know how you made it.
- 11:23You don't know either. Let's just let's be real.
- 11:26And this is meant to make people very low key and that people
- 11:29understand this are the best people.
- 11:31If they ignore this, they're really the most impossible
- 11:34people to deal with because they have no sense of reality.
- 11:37That's what he's telling you, right?
- 11:38The unpredictability of life is scary.
- 11:41I mean, you can take a ballplayer.
- 11:43How many guys do you know who the guy drafted?
- 11:46They were first round draft picks.
- 11:47They were top over all, right? Top over all.
- 11:51And they had that whole scene by the draft where they put the cap
- 11:53on and they had the family around and two minutes later
- 11:56they were a big deal. They signed a big contract and 5
- 11:59minutes later they they ripped their Achilles and goodbye.
- 12:02You look, there's been a lot of them, right?
- 12:05So what did I tell you, Chalamet?
- 12:07Just tell us you relax, be down to earth.
- 12:10Val Moshelle levee. How many rulers have become
- 12:13servants? Val Mahubali declare how many
- 12:17people who were extremely inspected became embarrassed?
- 12:20They've we a whole Coco on the Calais esu al Hamat Saavan of
- 12:25Zebe Navajo. If any person is technique
- 12:30speaking, prone to fall into this predicament in a minute,
- 12:33eh, you volleyball. How can it be arrogant based on
- 12:38outside factors? So people say no, I'm not
- 12:40arrogant cause of that. I don't feel good 'cause I feel
- 12:43good 'cause what I've done, that too can be undone.
- 12:45Alma Savo I said no. But what makes people arrogant
- 12:49is not themselves. They don't control themselves.
- 12:52What makes you arrogant is the situation and the situation is
- 12:55dictated by God. No guy is too arrogant 'cause
- 12:58he's a very small man, right? People are arrogant because of
- 13:03their money and their power and their fame.
- 13:05And there was. People inflate them.
- 13:07Yeah, it's true. It's part of the problem.
- 13:08The power is given to you by others, your mother, your
- 13:12respect of your money. If people know about the money,
- 13:15respect of the money is given to you by others.
- 13:17And so it is true when it comes to overall success.
- 13:21And it's done by other people. Between you and I, I've said
- 13:24this all the time, our wonderful community, the best community
- 13:27out there, it, it builds and destroys people in a sense.
- 13:32Because when someone does well and becomes a name and become a
- 13:36name in a few minutes, it takes very short of them to become a
- 13:38name. And then they run the risk of
- 13:40living the rest of their life living up to their name.
- 13:43And then they can't function because it's the reality is life
- 13:46has ups and downs. Not even as human as he's
- 13:49telling us here. It's basic business.
- 13:50I mean, guy, he sells to Walmart and then sadly, he doesn't sell
- 13:54to Walmart anymore. That's it.
- 13:57And that thing, it's over. That's one buyer turning him
- 14:01down. And it's, it's completely very
- 14:03different change. It's very tough for people to
- 14:05function this way. It's very hard to exist this
- 14:07way. So when you tell that person is
- 14:10don't be worried about eyeing that opera, say just chill, just
- 14:14relax. I want people to say someone's
- 14:17always doing so well. And this person knows that he's
- 14:20doing well because of one person that he knows in Arkansas.
- 14:24It's one connection and change his fortune, right?
- 14:29He lives life with that mindset and he keeps himself down to
- 14:33earth and low key because he knows that he can flip on a
- 14:36dime. He's not scared, but he's just
- 14:39real. Am I right there or you're
- 14:41always scared of Walmart Always scared, right?
- 14:44He's not even exactly. He's not even out of him.
- 14:46It's true. So you God listening.
- 14:48But how should you not be scared?
- 14:52No, if you a a person who's about beat the horn, right,
- 14:57knows, right, that the source is on a string and we don't, and
- 15:01then we know that we don't really deserve what we're
- 15:03getting. Yeah.
- 15:04So it is like scary, I mean. I'll tell you in my process, I,
- 15:10I have to worry about certain things in the shoe, right?
- 15:13Same. My my mechanism.
- 15:15And for example, the how it is coming up.
- 15:16This is coming year. It's a big concern for all the
- 15:19shoes because a lot of people are going to be in Jersey.
- 15:21It's Labor Day is right after the, the, the whatever.
- 15:24Yeah, two more. I'm sorry.
- 15:26It's three days before the Russian.
- 15:29It's a fetus Russian. It's a big fear.
- 15:31And the wise person was told me you being the wise person,
- 15:34they're all by this is your tariffs.
- 15:36You're right. This is your tariffs.
- 15:37So let's look at tariffs for a second.
- 15:39Now, I'm not saying everyone, some people got hurt by tariffs.
- 15:42Very Bailey. But there are people I've spoken
- 15:44to in the business world who are about to make it big through
- 15:49tariffs. How so?
- 15:51Because the government took away their money.
- 15:53All right, big money. The government held it.
- 15:56They're giving it back, I believe, with interest.
- 15:58And even without that, you work and you negotiate your margins
- 16:02with the retailers right out with China.
- 16:04And it turns out for many people, I don't serve people
- 16:07personally. They're actually making a lot of
- 16:10money because of this process, whether they're making money or
- 16:12not. The fear that they have, the
- 16:15devastation that they felt. I mean, I fundraised last year
- 16:18through tariffs, right? That's a great time to
- 16:21fundraise. Being sarcastic.
- 16:23That's literally he became a therapist when you funded his
- 16:25new diapers. He called a person and he got
- 16:28the story. I.
- 16:33I I thank God happens to be we did as I this sort of fundraiser
- 16:38I did as well as ever done. That's because people are very
- 16:40nice, but the truth is, is that techniques become the the
- 16:44conversation open up with that type of fear.
- 16:47And it made a lot of sense. And yet most probably for many
- 16:50people, they'll be fine. What that tells you is that you
- 16:54don't know the story. I am nervous that shul realize
- 16:59every shul realized about at least 20% of their entire year's
- 17:04funding comes from the holidays. At least 20%, maybe more, 30,
- 17:07maybe more, right? And now that's that's for many
- 17:09people that's going to be wiped almost completely out unless
- 17:12they figure something out. Am I nervous?
- 17:14Yes Wasn't on my mind the entire year.
- 17:16Yes. Do I know for a fact that
- 17:18something's going to come along and they may even be better?
- 17:21I know that should I figure out a way to chill out?
- 17:24I can't I wish I could, but overall that should make me low
- 17:30key. Even if I were a businessman and
- 17:32they sure were a business and then we made a lot of money that
- 17:35year. I'd I would never say to myself,
- 17:37wow, we're rolling because I know next year is coming.
- 17:40The goal of this is to know, be completely humble, be low key,
- 17:45and then you realize you're hanging on Hashem's balance.
- 17:49Will He take care of you? Yes, because He'll be the one to
- 17:52take care of you and not you. And because you know that
- 17:55there's no plan for tomorrow without Him and you know that
- 17:59well, that makes you remain the same person.
- 18:02The only reason people change is because they start to believe in
- 18:06something outside of Hashem. If you believe in Hashem
- 18:09totally, which we do, how can I change?
- 18:12How can I be be reliant and trusting and be feel good about
- 18:17my own abilities and when I know there's so many angles in a
- 18:21goggy, even if there are a lot of Buddhas on my own and I am
- 18:24very good good at producing a product and I am very good at
- 18:27selling. All that might be true.
- 18:29All you need is 1 snafu and it's all game over.
- 18:32We all know that. All you need is they need.
- 18:35They don't ship. They make it wrong.
- 18:37The buyer's upset. One day they find they've been a
- 18:39competitor. We all know the game.
- 18:41We've all been down the road. So because you know that, how
- 18:44can a person be arrogant? How can a person think to
- 18:46themselves? I figured it out.
- 18:48There's not one area of business that a person can see.
- 18:52I figured it out. You can't figure out real estate
- 18:54because your laws can change on a dime, right?
- 18:57Commercial real estate, local real estate.
- 18:59You can't figure out wholesale. You can't figure out retail,
- 19:03that's for sure. You can't figure out anything,
- 19:05right? You can't figure out anything
- 19:07because all these things can change tomorrow and you can't
- 19:11figure out the more with the community.
- 19:13You can't figure out schools, you can't figure out schools,
- 19:15you can't figure out organizations.
- 19:17It can't be settled in any of these areas.
- 19:19So therefore not being the case, every person says to themselves,
- 19:23I am blessed to be here. I'm fully confident that someone
- 19:26will take care of me going forward, but it won't be me.
- 19:29And because it won't be me, how can I be the one to really look
- 19:34at myself in a manner that makes me think I'm great?
- 19:37I'm not great. I didn't do anything to get
- 19:39myself here and I won't do anything to get myself there.
- 19:41And therefore I'm gonna remain low key.
- 19:43Low key is being real. It's always a thing.
- 19:46And he's telling you to do this. And how do you convince yourself
- 19:50use the vulnerability of life? Is life vulnerable today, Today
- 19:55with the news and everything going on and you just watch the
- 19:57stock market over the last couple of years, guy?
- 19:59Sneezes the wrong. Way right, right.
- 20:01And the stock market is because it gets crazier and crazy
- 20:04nowadays because of the news being much more hectic and
- 20:07because no one knows settled. There's no such thing as being
- 20:10settled anymore. There's just no such thing.
- 20:12All right. I've learnt that if I follow the
- 20:15the World News, I will not be settled on days that I follow
- 20:19the World News. I have a little bit of a high
- 20:22blood pressure on this tense right right now.
- 20:25I'll give you an example. Right now, if you ask the
- 20:27Israelis, they're choked. They're back to normal in Israel
- 20:32today. He's back to normal right in
- 20:35America's version of Israel today, because you have Iran
- 20:38officially hanging over the heads and America officially
- 20:41about to attack at any point, which we both know.
- 20:43I don't think he's true anymore, but that's the side point.
- 20:46But that's irrelevant. We know it's only over already,
- 20:48but he's just the president talking talk for some reason.
- 20:51Now it is real. It's fine and they know it's
- 20:54fine. They knew the Iran attacks were
- 20:57coming when they were coming and they know they're not coming
- 20:59now, right? So based on that, but we from
- 21:02our perspective, we have World News and we have the fear of
- 21:06World News. And because of that, we are
- 21:08tense about Israel. OK, I'm debating to book tickets
- 21:11for now for a month from now and I'm tense.
- 21:13I don't know. People who are going to come
- 21:15along on me backed out. I have to convince my wife now
- 21:18they come alone and I don't know if she's going to come alone
- 21:21because she's scared. I'm not really scared, but I am
- 21:24when I follow the news. Life is very volatile, evolved
- 21:27news. If that's the case in the world,
- 21:29it's so much so the case, very much so the case and our
- 21:32business life as well. And that is meant to keep us
- 21:36humble. The vulnerability of the world
- 21:38around us is meant to chose out. I think we can rely on.
