- 0:03Speaker 1: It's a podcast call twenty five whists stuck in fun
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they whist So, yeah.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's too bad, but what did you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 3: It's a podcast call twenty five whistles.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Whine everybody, Welcome to the show. Eddie Bowler, whistle, Thank
- 0:21Speaker 2: you very much. Bad news. If you're a Vikings fan,
- 0:24Speaker 2: we'll start with this. Oh god, yeah, suck for jen
- 0:26Speaker 2: J McCarthy. He's out for the year. We went from like, oh,
- 0:29Speaker 2: just a few weeks.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Like, well they said a few weeks, right, I mean
- 0:33Speaker 3: we didn't diagnose him, no, no, no, yeah, but it
- 0:35Speaker 3: was like, hey, could be just a few weeks because
- 0:37Speaker 3: that meniscus it's an interesting thing because you can actually
- 0:40Speaker 3: remove it and keep playing, but then your legs when
- 0:43Speaker 3: you get older, it's gonna.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Hurt real bad.
- 0:45Speaker 2: There's owners about when you're older, you know what I mean.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Exactly, Well, when you're twenty two, you probably don't or
- 0:49Speaker 3: you can repair it and it takes three, four, five, six,
- 0:52Speaker 3: seven weeks or like apparently this one was worse than
- 0:56Speaker 3: they had initially thought and shared and now he's out
- 0:59Speaker 3: for the year. That's great for uhm uh Sam Donald
- 1:04Speaker 3: like that Dud's probably like he has to do one
- 1:06Speaker 3: of those like, yes, but no way can see him.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that's tough.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Or sometimes you're like, but you can't outwardly do
- 1:12Speaker 3: that because he's there's no competition now. But I think
- 1:16Speaker 3: he will be serviceable. But also it was almost a terrible,
- 1:19Speaker 3: terrible day. Jordan Addison got taken off on the cart
- 1:22Speaker 3: so and Jordan Adison had ten touchdowns. I'm going for
- 1:25Speaker 3: a memory here, like ten touchdowns last year, six seven
- 1:27Speaker 3: hundred yards could be a number one anywhere else if
- 1:30Speaker 3: they already didn't have arguably the best receiver in football.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Turns out he's okay.
- 1:35Speaker 3: But it was almost a disaster from Minnesota. They almost
- 1:37Speaker 3: just packed up and did no team this one day.
- 1:39Speaker 3: It was like, hold on, we're gonna sit out this year.
- 1:42Speaker 3: But if you're a Vikings fan that that sucks. No,
- 1:46Speaker 3: let me.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Take it back.
- 1:47Speaker 3: It still could actually be okay because we didn't know
- 1:50Speaker 3: that Sam Donald may not be the quarterback anyway. So
- 1:55Speaker 3: probably the something good out of it is J. J.
- 1:58Speaker 3: McCarthy's gonna be here on the complex. He's gonna learn,
- 2:00Speaker 3: he's not going to be pushed in. There's gonna be
- 2:02Speaker 3: no quarterback controversy. It could be a net gain for
- 2:05Speaker 3: the Vikings, just a slight less bit of excitement because
- 2:08Speaker 3: the guy you drafted in top ten, he's a top
- 2:12Speaker 3: ten right number ten, ten, eleven, whatever, is not going
- 2:17Speaker 3: to really be able to play this year.
- 2:20Speaker 2: So that sucks for the Vikings.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yeah, a little set back, but it.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Also could actually be a set forward because they may
- 2:25Speaker 3: just Donald may be fine.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Sam Donald never really had a chance like ever in
- 2:31Speaker 2: his career.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Well, think about these quarterbacks when they go one through
- 2:35Speaker 3: eight or nine. Occasionally you have a good team that
- 2:37Speaker 3: has a bad year and they get very fortunate. But
- 2:42Speaker 3: mostly it's bad teams. That's why they keep getting the
- 2:44Speaker 3: best players, because they suck. Sucky teams usually suck for
- 2:47Speaker 3: more than one season. Usually it's incompetence inside the organization, ownership.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Bad owners hire bad executives, bad executives hire bad coaches,
- 2:58Speaker 3: and all the way down.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So like I think like Tim Kalich, I think he
- 3:02Speaker 2: would have been pretty good. He went to the stupid
- 3:04Speaker 2: Browns way back in the day. I don't know why
- 3:06Speaker 2: that comes to my head as like something yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 3:10Speaker 2: for sure.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Random, But every once in a while, like teams get lucky,
- 3:16Speaker 3: like when Golden State. This is basketball, but Golden State
- 3:19Speaker 3: was really bad because they lost everybody. Uh, and they
- 3:22Speaker 3: got they got high draft picks, which rare that a
- 3:24Speaker 3: good team gets a high pick like re me the
- 3:27Speaker 3: top because number one it well, so it would have
- 3:30Speaker 3: been Carolina, but it was the Bears. But the Bears
- 3:33Speaker 3: suck anyway. The Bears have sucked forever. The Bears haven't
- 3:36Speaker 3: had a good quarterback in forever. Yeah if ever McMahon,
- 3:39Speaker 3: and he was not even really a good quarterback. He
- 3:42Speaker 3: and again you're talking about I can barely remember Jim McMahon.
- 3:45Speaker 3: He was just somebody who was flashy. But that was
- 3:47Speaker 3: a defensive bas team with Walter Payton. It wasn't like
- 3:50Speaker 3: they threw a lot then. But yes, okay, fair enough
- 3:53Speaker 3: Jim McMahon, go ahead, that's it. Mitch Trubisky was a hero,
- 3:58Speaker 3: was supposed to be. Uh who else you want to
- 4:01Speaker 3: go with?
- 4:01Speaker 5: Rex?
- 4:02Speaker 2: Uh Grossman?
- 4:03Speaker 3: Rex Grossman supposed to be the guy. Jay Cutler and
- 4:07Speaker 3: Jay Cutler probably their best.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yes, he's entertaining. At least, that's crazy. I would say
- 4:11Speaker 2: their best quarterback ever was Jay Cutler.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so over Jim McMahon.
- 4:16Speaker 2: They won with Jim McMahon. But I'm saying, if it's
- 4:19Speaker 2: just a quarterback, who you think, Yes, super Bowl Shuffler,
- 4:22Speaker 2: that's what I remember.
- 4:23Speaker 3: If you're just looking for a quarterback to do a
- 4:24Speaker 3: quarterback things, I think Cutler is probably that guy.
- 4:29Speaker 6: I can't believe Grossman got to the Super Bowl. I
- 4:31Speaker 6: know that's crazy.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah, so Vikings that kind of sucks, but I think
- 4:37Speaker 3: it could be a net gain in the end of McCarthy,
- 4:40Speaker 3: Hills up is good. Has a year to be in
- 4:41Speaker 3: the NFL, you know, second half of the year, probably gets
- 4:44Speaker 3: to train a little bit. But and for Sam Darnold, yes,
- 4:47Speaker 3: like a secret yet it's really good. Yes, let's go
- 4:51Speaker 3: over and do the tittle tattle.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Thank you stupid his name ever? The tittle tattle? Now
- 5:00Speaker 2: what you got?
- 5:01Speaker 5: All right?
- 5:02Speaker 2: A lot of trade requests going on right now.
- 5:03Speaker 6: Hypothetical here if you get traded to one college fan base,
- 5:08Speaker 6: which one would it be?
- 5:08Speaker 2: So, so, what's up?
- 5:10Speaker 3: And by the time this airs this because we're doing
- 5:11Speaker 3: this late Thursday, this, this will put that come out
- 5:13Speaker 3: on Friday.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Is that how you've been traded yet? No?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Okay, so it kept going to the Steelers have a
- 5:17Speaker 3: plan and we all know the stuff he didn't want
- 5:20Speaker 3: to do. He didn't want to go to the Patriots. Heck,
- 5:22Speaker 3: I don't want to go to the Patriots right now.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I don't even play and I'm good. I don't want
- 5:24Speaker 3: to go to the Patriots. We kept hearing the Steelers.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Then it was like, there's a plan, so this may
- 5:29Speaker 3: all be gone. But the last I had heard was
- 5:32Speaker 3: the Steelers from making a move. But also the forty
- 5:34Speaker 3: nine Ers were like, no, we're we're building the structure
- 5:36Speaker 3: to actually keep him here so it could be done.
- 5:40Speaker 4: That's Fryuk.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's the trade I'm thinking of C. Yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 2: not C. That's gonna happen there, nothing's gonna happen. They're
- 5:47Speaker 2: gonna pay them, but they're gonna nobody.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Else we got.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I mean we got people, but yeah, you're right now
- 5:52Speaker 2: they have to get rid of all them. Everyone's gone.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yeah, Johnny McCarthy's gonna like, all right this year, that's
- 5:56Speaker 3: how much money they If I'm going that just take
- 6:00Speaker 3: out my own Yeah, I have to go be a
- 6:04Speaker 3: fan of a different fan base.
- 6:05Speaker 6: Yeah, like if you could request, like I have to go.
- 6:08Speaker 6: I want to go to this fan base because man,
- 6:10Speaker 6: it looks fun over there.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Okay, so first I could not go to a Georgia
- 6:19Speaker 3: or Alabama sec rivals.
- 6:22Speaker 2: No, just really good.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I would feel like such a freaking loser, quitter trader
- 6:26Speaker 3: just to go jump.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Well that's all I was thinking, we'll go straight to.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You don't want to go right to be a winner.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I would want to go to somebody fun environment who's
- 6:39Speaker 3: not won, but has a real shot to win. Like
- 6:40Speaker 3: Oregon comes to mind. No national championship, I have a
- 6:45Speaker 3: shot at it, very isolated, so without putting a whole
- 6:49Speaker 3: lot of thought into it.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I like Oregon.
- 6:51Speaker 3: If it's like loser teams South Carolina, I can appreciate
- 6:57Speaker 3: how passionate they are while sucking. So but I'm not.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I don't want to go there, but I can like
- 7:04Speaker 3: a pre I like South Carolina.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I like coach Bimber. What about Texas? They suck, They're
- 7:11Speaker 2: very optimistic. They they went to the college fotball plaoff
- 7:14Speaker 2: last year.
- 7:15Speaker 3: He hates them so much I would trade myself out
- 7:18Speaker 3: of sports before that. That's going to be a Longhorn fan.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I was on Paul finebaumb and Eddie and I were
- 7:25Speaker 3: on Baltimore at the at the Baseball Card Extravaganza, and
- 7:28Speaker 3: he was like, what's the worst fan base? And I
- 7:30Speaker 3: think he only puts me on because he knows I'll
- 7:31Speaker 3: actually answer the questions, because I think fine Bomb has
- 7:34Speaker 3: not a lot of really legitimate sports you know, prognosticators,
- 7:41Speaker 3: analysts and who are going to actually talk about things
- 7:44Speaker 3: that matter. But he knows me and can go like
- 7:46Speaker 3: who do you hate? And I'll just answer it. I
- 7:48Speaker 3: have no problem. And I said, I hate Texas football.
- 7:52Speaker 3: And here's why. Growing up we had to hate Texas.
- 7:54Speaker 2: They were big brother. They had everything. We had nothing.
- 7:57Speaker 3: And I said, anybody that I hate Texas and Tennessee,
- 8:00Speaker 3: you have to respect somebody to even think about them.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Like, there are teams that I probably don't like. I don't.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think about USC.
- 8:06Speaker 4: They're not at the threat.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like I'm not close proximity wise. I didn't
- 8:11Speaker 3: grow up hating them. We never played them. I don't
- 8:14Speaker 3: respect really them because I wasn't. But there are teams
- 8:17Speaker 3: I easily could be like, nah, they went too much.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I'm annoyed. But like Texas, they beat, they would beat
- 8:21Speaker 2: the crab out of us. I hate it.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I hate Texas, but it's out of respect because they're
- 8:26Speaker 3: a big program.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I wish we had the money they had. Tennessee.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I live in Tennessee now and I never really liked
- 8:32Speaker 3: Tennessee because ninety it was bad for us. We were
- 8:34Speaker 3: a game away from national championship.
- 8:35Speaker 2: We won that. We have the ball, we don't fumble.
- 8:38Speaker 4: It's on what year was that?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Ninety eight? We end up beating in ninety nine doing
- 8:41Speaker 2: the same thing to them kind of, but that hurt.
- 8:45Speaker 2: And now you born in ninety eight. No, I was
- 8:47Speaker 2: just saying, that was a good year. Man, Why would
- 8:48Speaker 2: you whisper say it like a man?
- 8:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that was a good year.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Speak up, man, Yes, took out my caon mister haircut,
- 8:55Speaker 3: it gets a haircut.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Wants to be quiet now? Yeah, man, I got scared.
- 8:58Speaker 2: What's up with the haircut? Looks good? Thanks man. It
- 9:01Speaker 2: could have been faded a little bit more in the back.
- 9:03Speaker 2: What do you mean look at this, man, I look
- 9:05Speaker 2: like a thumb.
- 9:06Speaker 4: A thumb.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Okay, I see the line. It looks like a little bit.
- 9:10Speaker 4: It's an fade.
- 9:12Speaker 2: It looks like not even a fade. It looks like levels.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's like you win and said can you level one,
- 9:17Speaker 2: level two, level three?
- 9:18Speaker 3: In the back of my head, it'll grow into a fade, though,
- 9:22Speaker 3: he said before he came on, and he goes, I
- 9:23Speaker 3: looked like, Kim Jong.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Why didn't you tell the person? Couldn't you hear that
- 9:27Speaker 2: when they were doing it?
- 9:28Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I was just like, you're doing great, man, that's the
- 9:33Speaker 3: opposite of what I know.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I'm bad about that.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Man.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Man, But you don't have to say that's funny. I'm
- 9:38Speaker 3: gonna recommend you to my friends. That's the OA that
- 9:43Speaker 3: did you. Yeah, you can easily just go, hey, what
- 9:46Speaker 3: you want fade. That's a little tighter there that nobody's
- 9:48Speaker 3: feelings are hurt.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I thought you heard cut look good?
- 9:52Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I still I still think it looks pretty good.
- 9:54Speaker 4: It does look good.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So I'm no idea I was talking.
- 9:58Speaker 3: About, but fan base, but respect Tennessee. I think Hypel
- 10:03Speaker 3: who doesn't wish Hype was their coach? He's turned that
- 10:05Speaker 3: program run quick. And I was telling Fine Bomb that, like,
- 10:08Speaker 3: I hate him, but you have to respect somebody to
- 10:09Speaker 3: hate him, or you just don't think about him. And
- 10:12Speaker 3: then he said, okay, well who is it? And so
- 10:14Speaker 3: I said okay, without a doubt. And I think he
- 10:16Speaker 3: was ready for me to go Texas or Tennessee because
- 10:17Speaker 3: I'd set him up and I said, Kentucky Basketball. I said,
- 10:20Speaker 3: I'd put them hand by hand and walk them all
- 10:21Speaker 3: into a river and say goodbye.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And individually, it's funny.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I have a lot of tennis at Kentucky basketball fans
- 10:27Speaker 3: that I like, but as a group, to me, they
- 10:30Speaker 3: are the worst. I respect him absolutely, they win, they
- 10:34Speaker 3: show up, They're annoying as crap. And so that's the
- 10:38Speaker 3: question that I answered, abut who I didn't like? Yes,
- 10:40Speaker 3: And I liked it, and I thought it was pretty
- 10:41Speaker 3: good appearance. He kept me on longer than and I
- 10:43Speaker 3: can find Bomb's cool and I like Paul a lot
- 10:45Speaker 3: and get to know him a little bit, but he's
- 10:47Speaker 3: cool because he'll keep you on longer if you're doing well.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It's like the old talk shows back in the day
- 10:51Speaker 3: where Johnny Carson they'd say, keep you for an extra
- 10:53Speaker 3: segment if you were killing And so they were like, hey,
- 10:55Speaker 3: you're gonna go on to do eight minutes with fine Bomb.
- 10:57Speaker 3: They asked me to come on, no problem, I go on,
- 11:00Speaker 3: And then it was like a seventeen minute hit and
- 11:02Speaker 3: I was like, man, I must have been on nice
- 11:04Speaker 3: because sometimes I don't know I'm really on or really off.
- 11:07Speaker 3: But I'm still gone with passion. It's not until afterward
- 11:09Speaker 3: I'm like, well, that appearance might have sucked.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Do you ever just black out.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Don't understand the question, Like when you're getting interviewed like
- 11:16Speaker 6: that and you're just in the zone and you don't
- 11:19Speaker 6: know if your off or on in the moment.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I'll do the opposite of blacking out. I'll start over
- 11:23Speaker 3: evaluating thing. I will not not say something if it's
- 11:27Speaker 3: funny in my head, I'm just gonna say it. But
- 11:30Speaker 3: in mid interview, I'm starting to go I'm starting to
- 11:33Speaker 3: reevaluate what I said, and I'm like, oh my god,
- 11:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna cancel for that. I don't care about the
- 11:36Speaker 3: team stuff. But it's something about getting kicked in the
- 11:38Speaker 3: nuts or something in the interview. Yeah, it's something like
- 11:40Speaker 3: lsu I made it like a penis or joke or
- 11:43Speaker 3: nut joke. And then I'm like, oh, I forgot I'm
- 11:46Speaker 3: on like national radio, like broadcast, not just satellites on
- 11:51Speaker 3: satellites on SEC network, and I just wanted to make
- 11:54Speaker 3: sure I didn't say anything that I wouldn't have wanted
- 11:58Speaker 3: on my show, and then I did and it was
- 12:00Speaker 3: fine because I said something like LSU were gonna kick
- 12:02Speaker 3: him the nuts or something.
- 12:03Speaker 2: But I will do the opposite.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I'll be extremely over evaluating mid interview.
- 12:09Speaker 2: But I like that.
- 12:09Speaker 3: And there are times where I do feel like I'm
- 12:11Speaker 3: in the zone, and there are times where I'll go
- 12:12Speaker 3: back and listen to it, and I was like, I
- 12:13Speaker 3: was not in the zone. But like Rick Joison, I
- 12:15Speaker 3: felt like you were rolling and I did not because
- 12:18Speaker 3: I was on ZENA.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I know that, but I'm just saying there, you might
- 12:21Speaker 1: have blacked out, yes, And that's why when I went in,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I said, hey, I just I don't normally take this
- 12:26Speaker 1: to fly.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I took it because I didn't sleep well last night.
- 12:28Speaker 3: So anything I say cannon will be held against me,
- 12:31Speaker 3: but I don't want to. I don't go back and
- 12:34Speaker 3: watch my appearances almost ever, because I always hate myself
- 12:38Speaker 3: even if I do well. But I felt like I
- 12:41Speaker 3: remember watching Rich laugh so hard. There were like two
- 12:43Speaker 3: times I didn't even sure what I said that he
- 12:47Speaker 3: was laughing so hard.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I thought, this is going pretty good.
- 12:49Speaker 3: That's awesome, that's that's usually when I can tell that
- 12:51Speaker 3: something's going well, if I can get the person who
- 12:53Speaker 3: always has people to like genuinely laugh, then it feels good.
- 12:57Speaker 2: And I think I'm gonna go with the Oregon it's
- 12:59Speaker 2: my fam even fan base. Oh yeah, back to the question.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Back to the question, A light landing. We had, good
- 13:03Speaker 2: we had. He's younger than us, which is weird.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Weird.
- 13:07Speaker 2: He's a big dude, yeah, and like it's tough. He's fun.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Yeah, like tough dude.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Like I'd be scared to play for him because he
- 13:15Speaker 1: just seems like he's just serious and tough.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Nebraska seems fun. Now, here's why they have a history
- 13:22Speaker 3: of winning. I think they hold on to their winning
- 13:24Speaker 3: a little too much because they haven't been good in
- 13:26Speaker 3: a long time.
- 13:27Speaker 2: But I can understand.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Listen, I still wear a nineteen ninety four raised back
- 13:30Speaker 3: basketball championship shirt because it's all we have. If we
- 13:33Speaker 3: had a ninety eight or two thousand and three, I'd
- 13:34Speaker 3: be wearing that one.
- 13:35Speaker 2: But it's like, well, four, he's all we have. That's
- 13:40Speaker 2: fair rules the coach there. Now, I think they're on
- 13:43Speaker 2: their way to bounce about that. To take a Baylor
- 13:45Speaker 2: Riola that quarterback.
- 13:46Speaker 3: They could number one quarterback. And their fans are really nice.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Like anytime I've been around Nebraska people for any like
- 13:53Speaker 3: sports fans, like, I feel like they're like they're a
- 13:57Speaker 3: kind group, and I like that. We're going Oregon, Nebraska.
- 14:00Speaker 3: And finally, BYU, why just.
- 14:03Speaker 6: The warmon curveball you had to throw in there?
- 14:06Speaker 2: Yeah, no drinking, no caffeine. That sounds fund style. Want
- 14:09Speaker 2: to sleep.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Like the religion part not for me, but everything else
- 14:13Speaker 3: about it, it's pretty good.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Like I love like that anyway, that's fair. I'm as
- 14:17Speaker 2: Mormon as you can be without being a Mormon. That
- 14:20Speaker 2: so I'm going to Oregon. Eddie's going whoever's number one
- 14:24Speaker 2: in the poll.
- 14:24Speaker 4: I'll Gobama's Gobama.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Okay, even after Stavment. Okay, yeah, all right, we'll move on. McCarthy.
- 14:30Speaker 1: You to coach Obama, kaylind bar and you guys will
- 14:36Speaker 1: hear that in our college preview.
- 14:37Speaker 2: That's not up yet, right, But we had to work
- 14:39Speaker 2: on Eddie remembering his name.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Gosh, I had a dig deep there too.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all.
- 14:42Speaker 6: Right, go ahead, all right, we just talked about it.
- 14:44Speaker 6: JJ McCarthy out for the year. Where do you put
- 14:46Speaker 6: the Viking ceiling out this year.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Now, I think the ceiling is higher than what it was.
- 14:50Speaker 3: It sucks and McCarthy's out. I think the ceiling is
- 14:53Speaker 3: higher though. I think there will be a year of development.
- 14:56Speaker 3: They don't get out of him.
- 14:57Speaker 2: But they were seven or ten last year.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I think they can win nine or I think they
- 15:03Speaker 3: win nine or ten games. They're a pretty good team
- 15:07Speaker 3: and Sam Donald in that offense is going to shine
- 15:11Speaker 3: a bit. And I think what I was talking about
- 15:14Speaker 3: earlier with Sam Donald, like, look, he played for the
- 15:17Speaker 3: freaking Panthers and the Jets. Those were bad, bad, bad teams.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I mean they still are. I mean the Jets will
- 15:24Speaker 3: be pretty good this year. But like he didn't have
- 15:26Speaker 3: a shot. He goes to San Francisco. They raved about
- 15:29Speaker 3: him as a backup. I think he has I think
- 15:32Speaker 3: the thing they would say about him, because I was
- 15:33Speaker 3: reading some of why they thought Sam Donald still wasn't good.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I think his releases a little slow. I don't know
- 15:39Speaker 3: the difference. All looks good to me, right right.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I never when they say that I don't know what
- 15:43Speaker 4: they're talking about.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Well, I mean I know what they're talking about. I
- 15:45Speaker 2: can't see it.
- 15:45Speaker 3: It's like what someone's like, Man, that's a great actor,
- 15:47Speaker 3: or that's a pretty good actor.
- 15:49Speaker 2: They all look good to me. I'm watching a movie.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I never watch a movie and go that actor sucks.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But see, like to that point though, like Tom Hanks
- 15:57Speaker 1: is good because he can play you know, Forrest gun
- 16:00Speaker 1: up and then you can play this serbian dude.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Stuck in an airport.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I can. I can.
- 16:03Speaker 4: And you're not thinking, oh that's Forrest Gump.
- 16:05Speaker 2: No, no, but I can respect that.
- 16:06Speaker 3: But I don't see a bad actor and go that
- 16:08Speaker 3: guy's a crappy actor in like a movie.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I've never done that.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You don't have Sometimes I'll watch and be like, he's
- 16:13Speaker 1: definitely acting like that doesn't I don't.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I don't buy that.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Is it because they're associated with another character?
- 16:18Speaker 5: Though?
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Yeah, like Joaquin Phoenix to me is always that's a
- 16:21Speaker 1: personal thing, not the character.
- 16:23Speaker 2: That's just weird. You're broken.
- 16:25Speaker 3: You're broken movie, Mike, you cound because you do spend
- 16:29Speaker 3: so much time. So yeah, if we had spent so
- 16:31Speaker 3: much time in a movie, I think we all could.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I don't spend a lot of time measuring the release
- 16:36Speaker 3: times of NFL quarterbacks. I will say with shooters now,
- 16:41Speaker 3: I was watching Steph and I see some of the
- 16:42Speaker 3: drills they do now where they do the very quick
- 16:45Speaker 3: and stuff did at the Olympics last game against France,
- 16:48Speaker 3: where so as soon as he catches it, it's like
- 16:50Speaker 3: catches it's not even the straight how quick can you
- 16:53Speaker 3: can you get the release off shooting at three?
- 16:55Speaker 2: But it's like super quick release. Have you guys seen those?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Yes, that's awesome, so that I can tell the difference.
- 17:00Speaker 3: But that's a whole different shot. But anyway, Oregon and nine,
- 17:06Speaker 3: nine and eight ten is a ceiling for Vikings.
- 17:10Speaker 2: For the Vikings, yah, they have two great wide receivers.
- 17:14Speaker 2: They throw the ball a lot and the Aaron Jones,
- 17:19Speaker 2: Oh he's in the backfield. Yeah, yeah, fine, Aaron Jones
- 17:21Speaker 2: is fine.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Solid Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Judges is a solid uh six out of ten back
- 17:28Speaker 3: So I think the Vikings can be pretty good.
- 17:30Speaker 5: All right?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Next up?
- 17:31Speaker 6: All right, which wide receiver holdout is more awkward? I
- 17:33Speaker 6: uke in the Niners or Lam the Cowboys.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I don't know if I used as a true holdout.
- 17:39Speaker 2: That's the weird part about it is he he's like,
- 17:42Speaker 2: find me a trade. Nah, I don't want that one.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Find me a trade. I'll pass.
- 17:47Speaker 3: So if it is a holdout that that's a pretty
- 17:50Speaker 3: awesome one because he's like making them do extra.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Yeah, he's making them work and find other teams.
- 17:55Speaker 3: No, even if he didn't want a team, like if
- 17:56Speaker 3: he just always says no, yeah, it doesn't matter, who
- 17:59Speaker 3: could he comes with, Yeah, I'm good. The ceed Lamb
- 18:03Speaker 3: one is a little more awkward because Jerry Jones is
- 18:05Speaker 3: awesome and just says crap, And Jerry Jones like, yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 3: we'll get to it. You know, we plan on talking
- 18:11Speaker 3: about it in Thanksgiving dinner. Until then, let's just play that.
- 18:14Speaker 5: He just says crap.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I mean he's done it so many times.
- 18:18Speaker 3: And I would also say ce Lamb's a better player
- 18:20Speaker 3: than a Ayuk.
- 18:22Speaker 4: So yeah, thank you to be fair at the time
- 18:26Speaker 4: about the time.
- 18:26Speaker 5: To be fair?
- 18:27Speaker 2: I mean's Ceedee Lamb.
- 18:28Speaker 3: If he's not on that Dallas offense, what the heck
- 18:30Speaker 3: do they even do nothing?
- 18:32Speaker 2: They don't have anything.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I mean, well, Brittany, now we put Zeke at center
- 18:35Speaker 1: and we just do that play over.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I saw that. Yeah, that is not going to work.
- 18:40Speaker 3: The Ceedee Lamb one is a little awkward and hilarious
- 18:45Speaker 3: because it's been so much more public by the people
- 18:48Speaker 3: doing it. The Brandon Ayuk trade, it's we're just hearing
- 18:51Speaker 3: about what's happening more than actually seeing the star players
- 18:54Speaker 3: talk about it, like Jerry Jones even like Ceedee Lamb,
- 18:59Speaker 3: didn't he like did he like read like retweeting the Lol? Yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 3: that's what I'm talking about.
- 19:05Speaker 2: That's what I like. So that's why it's awkward, But
- 19:07Speaker 2: that's fun for me, all right.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Next up, last one year after trading for Jude on
- 19:11Speaker 6: this week, where do you rank the Falcons in the NFC?
- 19:15Speaker 3: I don't know because it's different, they're different. New coach,
- 19:21Speaker 3: he's now offensive coordinator.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Where did he Where did he go to? Arthur Smith? Yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 2: he's now OC somewhere. Obviously.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Kirk Cousins is a quarterback that doesn't really get his
- 19:37Speaker 3: do his flowers because he's been really consistent without ever
- 19:41Speaker 3: being like super awesome.
- 19:43Speaker 2: He's been really consistent Steelers. That's what it is.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I was thinking, because Brandon I was
- 19:48Speaker 3: going to go play for Arthur Smith. And that was
- 19:50Speaker 3: the thing too. He was like, I'd like to go
- 19:51Speaker 3: play in that offense. He said that for Arthur Smith.
- 19:55Speaker 3: And then really he's like.
- 19:56Speaker 2: He's messing with it.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Yes, right, so that's all new to me. I think
- 20:03Speaker 3: they can win ten or eleven games. They're playing in
- 20:05Speaker 3: a division that's not great, and so I think when
- 20:07Speaker 3: you play all those teams twice like that helps the total.
- 20:10Speaker 3: So I think, I mean, I think they can win
- 20:12Speaker 3: eleven games. I think Kirk Cousins as a healthy quarterback
- 20:15Speaker 3: all year, ceiling at eleven, maybe maybe twelve. I don't
- 20:21Speaker 3: think you get to twelve unless you're playing those a
- 20:23Speaker 3: week division.
- 20:23Speaker 2: But if Kirk gets hurt.
- 20:28Speaker 3: And now all of a sudden, they're going to panix,
- 20:31Speaker 3: I think they can win nine or ten. I think
- 20:34Speaker 3: hopefully this is gonna be the year that Pitts catches
- 20:37Speaker 3: more than a ball.
- 20:39Speaker 4: You're gonna draft him again, I have to.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you, cause I've drafted him. I've had
- 20:44Speaker 2: him every year.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Every year I've either drafted him or been like I
- 20:48Speaker 3: really messed up by not drafting him. I'm a trade
- 20:50Speaker 3: form in Week one's and every year it sucks, and
- 20:53Speaker 3: he doesn't suck, but no one's allowed him to be
- 20:56Speaker 3: good or great. So Kirk Cousins also, the only time
- 20:59Speaker 3: he it's a shine is when they pay him, meaning
- 21:01Speaker 3: you give them a hundred million bucks.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Is deal in Washington, his deal in Minnesota. They were
- 21:06Speaker 2: all big deals.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Everybody's like, I can't believe he makes so much money.
- 21:08Speaker 3: But the reason that we're not like Kirk Cousins is
- 21:10Speaker 3: the greatest is because he's never like super dynamic, but
- 21:13Speaker 3: he's always really good. He's always really good to solid
- 21:18Speaker 3: in that space. So I do think that because Atlanta
- 21:22Speaker 3: has that, I think they can win ten or eleven games.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I think it's pretty cool. I'm rooting for him.
- 21:27Speaker 3: It'd be fun to have a do that division, have
- 21:29Speaker 3: somebody that we're not like, Wow, they get to host
- 21:31Speaker 3: a game in the playoffs and they don't have a
- 21:36Speaker 3: below five hundred record because both the South divisions, that's
- 21:41Speaker 3: kind of happened.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So yeah, and I like with the trade.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Obviously they're building an organization now, so I like it.
- 21:51Speaker 3: I'm rooting for the Falcons. I don't want to trade
- 21:54Speaker 3: them for a fan base, though I don't really have
- 21:56Speaker 3: an NFL.
- 21:57Speaker 2: You do you do?
- 21:59Speaker 4: It's the Cowboys?
- 22:00Speaker 2: How old is Kirk Cousins? I founding a guest thirty six,
- 22:03Speaker 2: thirty seven, I don't know.
- 22:03Speaker 4: I was gonna put him at forty.
- 22:05Speaker 2: No ways forty, Kurt's what is he thirty five?
- 22:09Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 22:10Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Dang, you look so old in me.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Did you guys know Nick Foles was known for having
- 22:15Speaker 2: a huge penis. Yes, okay, thank you. And I mentioned
- 22:19Speaker 2: that on the show.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yes, I mentioned that on the show and they were like,
- 22:23Speaker 3: what are you been looking at it?
- 22:24Speaker 2: No, it's it's just kind of been urban legend.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and like he's like like the other players would
- 22:28Speaker 3: talk about it as a joke, like.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yes, his nickname was big Nick. Yes, oh really.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and they actually like what kind of fantasy fiction
- 22:38Speaker 3: or you subscribed to? And I was like no, because
- 22:40Speaker 3: Foles were tired. Yeah, and then Foles is thirty five,
- 22:43Speaker 3: he's like young and crap made eighty eight million dollars
- 22:47Speaker 3: or something. Okay, so no, it's not missed it because
- 22:53Speaker 3: on the show I asked and we were talking about
- 22:56Speaker 3: I think Alex Morgan came up and she didn't play
- 22:58Speaker 3: on the Saw your team, Yeah, and I think Amy
- 23:02Speaker 3: or Eddie asked Lunchbox why wasn't she on there?
- 23:04Speaker 2: And he goes, cause she's old just sucks, And I'm like, well,
- 23:07Speaker 2: you need to say she's old. Because your skills deteriorate.
- 23:09Speaker 2: You're not just fast.
- 23:10Speaker 3: And then I said, nick Foles also retired because Alex
- 23:14Speaker 3: Morgan is so young as a human.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I said, nick Foles just retired. And I said, do
- 23:17Speaker 2: you guys know about Nick Foles a penis? And then
- 23:20Speaker 2: they had this whole thing where they're like, you're weird.
- 23:23Speaker 4: What algorithm do you have?
- 23:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and I was like, no, no, I think he's
- 23:25Speaker 3: known for that, Like the other players would like make reference.
- 23:28Speaker 4: You heard that one time, Kevin or you knew.
- 23:30Speaker 2: No, it's like a well known thing. I thought so too. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 2: I thought like it's just something you bring up.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I never talked about that, never heard it, Like
- 23:36Speaker 1: hump day is Wednesday.
- 23:38Speaker 2: You just know what day is? Okay, when you talking
- 23:41Speaker 2: about Nick.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Foles, Well, from now on, I'm gonna know that, so
- 23:44Speaker 1: I can add to that conversation.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Right, that's the tittle tattle, stupid name, it's the tittle tattle. Okay,
- 23:52Speaker 2: how are we gonna take a break. We'll come back.
- 23:57Speaker 2: But we are at Fanatics Fest in New York City.
- 24:00Speaker 3: You right now, and so big Apple, that's true, okay,
- 24:04Speaker 3: absolutely accurate, And so a lot of the show it's
- 24:07Speaker 3: gonna be back in the studio today, but we're gonna
- 24:09Speaker 3: play one thing in particular from here, and then we
- 24:12Speaker 3: have a bunch of the interviews up next week. But
- 24:15Speaker 3: this thing's awesome, This Fanatics Fest. It has you can
- 24:19Speaker 3: like do athletics stuff like run and you can watch
- 24:22Speaker 3: Tom Brady talk. As Tom Brady spoke earlier, Gronk was here.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Dude, I got the chills.
- 24:26Speaker 5: Guys.
- 24:26Speaker 2: You got to what I saw Tom Brady. I swear
- 24:29Speaker 2: it gave you a chill.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Tom Brady gave you the chills.
- 24:33Speaker 2: And wasn't you wearing sunglasses inside?
- 24:37Speaker 7: I wish I gonna wears in the inside.
- 24:38Speaker 2: That'd be awesome.
- 24:40Speaker 5: So you know what scares me about this though?
- 24:42Speaker 4: What you just said.
- 24:43Speaker 2: He's like, let's go look around, and you're like, we're
- 24:44Speaker 2: gonna buy some stuff. I know, my goodness, how much
- 24:47Speaker 2: money we're gonna spend here? Good luck boys. I felt
- 24:51Speaker 2: like I'm going to spend a lot of money.
- 24:52Speaker 8: M hmm.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Maybe not today because we're here tomorrow too.
- 24:56Speaker 7: So we are in New York Fanatics Fest is.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I was able to get here before everybody else was
- 25:01Speaker 3: in because we have a stage. So they were like
- 25:03Speaker 3: just go walk around if you want. So before the
- 25:05Speaker 3: people came in, we walked around. There's like it's like memorabili. Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 3: there's cards. It doesn't even have to be that for
- 25:10Speaker 3: you though, if you're not into that at all, painting
- 25:12Speaker 3: there's yeah. So if you get a chance to come,
- 25:15Speaker 3: and they're gonna do this like four times a year,
- 25:16Speaker 3: come a lot of the interviews we have the next
- 25:18Speaker 3: couple of days, I do want to play this interview
- 25:22Speaker 3: from Jesse, who's on a podcast that I listened to
- 25:27Speaker 3: called Sports Cards Nonsense, and it's mostly about a box
- 25:32Speaker 3: of cards that I bought that we're thinking about breaking
- 25:34Speaker 3: here today. So we're gonna play that. We did the intro,
- 25:37Speaker 3: we did the tittle tattle. We're gonna play this with Jesse.
- 25:39Speaker 3: We got some more stuff to do later, but more
- 25:42Speaker 3: from Fanatics Fest. We'll do that coming up early this week.
- 25:45Speaker 3: So New York City, that's where we are. Here is
- 25:47Speaker 3: Jesse from Sports Cards Nonsense. Thank you guys. So this
- 25:51Speaker 3: is Jesse. One of my most listened to podcasts. Is
- 25:54Speaker 3: I'm just proving it here. That's on the list.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Yes, what percentage at the end of the year. It
- 25:59Speaker 5: gives you the percentage of like, what top listenership were
- 26:02Speaker 5: you in? Was it? Well? None from last year.
- 26:04Speaker 7: It's only started this year, so zero percent last year.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I'll at December thirty, first setting in the calendar to
- 26:09Speaker 5: ask what your percentage is.
- 26:11Speaker 3: So Sportscard Nonsense is a podcast that I listened to
- 26:13Speaker 3: with Jesse and Mike recently. On the show, you guys
- 26:17Speaker 3: have been talking about people CT scanning card boxes.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Yeah, was at work.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Oh my god, dude, it's a whole really, it freaks
- 26:26Speaker 3: me out and it's a controversy.
- 26:27Speaker 7: Would you please tell Eddie about the scanning of cards.
- 26:31Speaker 5: I will tell you that the last three episodes have
- 26:34Speaker 5: had a portion about CT scanning. We almost never covered
- 26:37Speaker 5: the same topic so much, but we've had to because
- 26:40Speaker 5: it is such a big topic right now. People are
- 26:43Speaker 5: legit taking CT scanners that you use in the medical field,
- 26:46Speaker 5: and they're applying well, if I can see inside a body,
- 26:49Speaker 5: I can see inside a box of cards, and what
- 26:52Speaker 5: if there's a box of cards that may be worth
- 26:54Speaker 5: tens hundreds of thousands of dollars. If they have a
- 26:57Speaker 5: certain card in it, great, well let me scan it.
- 27:00Speaker 5: If it's not in there, No one has to know
- 27:02Speaker 5: I can now take my box that does not have
- 27:05Speaker 5: the card. I want sell it at market value and
- 27:07Speaker 5: then keep trying it till I do get the one.
- 27:09Speaker 5: I like it.
- 27:10Speaker 3: It's okady okay, oh, okay, okay, okay.
- 27:13Speaker 5: So I like it too if it's not happening to me, right.
- 27:17Speaker 3: So I was blown away by the idea that people
- 27:19Speaker 3: were using medical devices to scan inside of card boxes,
- 27:22Speaker 3: and so I started just fangirling them on their account,
- 27:26Speaker 3: like how true is this? So I bought this car this,
- 27:29Speaker 3: So I bought this box here for thirteen thousand dollars.
- 27:32Speaker 5: So this is I'm afraid of it. I'm like looking
- 27:35Speaker 5: at it and I don't want to breathe on it.
- 27:37Speaker 7: It is the Upperdack Ultimate Collection.
- 27:38Speaker 3: It's the oh three Lebron Rookie year, and there is
- 27:42Speaker 3: a card that has not been opened yet if you
- 27:47Speaker 3: ask collectors, it's the one of one Lebron signed Rookie. Yeah,
- 27:50Speaker 3: the probably the most valuable card ever. If it goes
- 27:53Speaker 3: up to auction, it'll be four or five million dollars.
- 27:55Speaker 5: It could be in there, right.
- 27:56Speaker 7: So my fear is somebody had scanned this box already.
- 28:00Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie, do you shield that is the
- 28:02Speaker 5: box that they would scan. Of course, I mean, but
- 28:05Speaker 5: it is. It is also how long have you had
- 28:07Speaker 5: the box? How long have you had it for? Five days?
- 28:11Speaker 5: It was it was just that I not translates to podcasts. Well,
- 28:15Speaker 5: but I cringe. Yes, because here's the thing. If you
- 28:17Speaker 5: had had it for a while, I wouldn't be too worried.
- 28:19Speaker 5: But the fact that you just got it five days ago,
- 28:21Speaker 5: it just started. Though. There literally has started doing this.
- 28:25Speaker 3: If they have, Jesse, I appreciate you trying to make
- 28:27Speaker 3: you feel better. I saw I was watching the clips
- 28:30Speaker 3: three weeks ago. And so then this goes up for
- 28:32Speaker 3: sale on Fanatics okay, on collect yes, yep. And so
- 28:36Speaker 3: I won the auction and again I spent thirteen thousand
- 28:41Speaker 3: dollars on this box of cards where someone could have
- 28:44Speaker 3: easily Now my question to you, as.
- 28:46Speaker 5: A former doctor, Yes, yeah, doctor Jesse.
- 28:49Speaker 3: The CT scan it mostly is able to see things
- 28:54Speaker 3: protruding from cards, because what if it's just a flat surface,
- 28:58Speaker 3: can it still read the cards?
- 29:00Speaker 5: Okay? So I asked this question to the salesman the
- 29:03Speaker 5: company that is doing this. I reached out to because
- 29:06Speaker 5: I was like, I need to know more, and this
- 29:08Speaker 5: is what I have heard. There was also a guy
- 29:10Speaker 5: Boston card hunter. I believe he did a podcast with
- 29:13Speaker 5: him and he asked them some of these questions too.
- 29:15Speaker 5: They clarified that so long as the card does not
- 29:20Speaker 5: have any foil, any engravings, any difference in materials, or
- 29:26Speaker 5: a part like a ballpoint pin signature, if it has that,
- 29:31Speaker 5: then what is in the bottom though one has what
- 29:34Speaker 5: that's a lot of variable. Here's the thing. It definitely
- 29:36Speaker 5: has one, if not multiple of those things. Yeah, so yeah,
- 29:41Speaker 5: it's got it's gonna have metallic materials in there, and
- 29:43Speaker 5: more than like like if he used the marker pin,
- 29:45Speaker 5: you wouldn't be able to see this auto. But if
- 29:48Speaker 5: it's I don't know for sure if that's an on
- 29:50Speaker 5: card auto or a cigaretto. I think it's on it's
- 29:52Speaker 5: gonna be on card. I would think it's on card,
- 29:54Speaker 5: which means you would not technically be able to see
- 29:58Speaker 5: the auto in that CT skin. So if someone did
- 30:00Speaker 5: scan it, they may not be able to know if
- 30:03Speaker 5: that auto was there. You're saying if and maybe a lot.
- 30:05Speaker 5: I know. I'm just trying to tell you thirteen thousand
- 30:07Speaker 5: dollars a lot of money. I don't want you to
- 30:09Speaker 5: lose thirteen thousands. When were these boxes issued? Like, when
- 30:12Speaker 5: could the first time you can buy this box? Like
- 30:14Speaker 5: oh four, oh yeahzen three, late three, early thousand four, yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 5: more likely early dozen. So that's a lot.
- 30:20Speaker 4: That's a long time for people to see.
- 30:21Speaker 7: Tess, Well, this has only happened in the last six months.
- 30:25Speaker 5: Well, so here's the man I am fighting here to
- 30:28Speaker 5: trying to help you better help me.
- 30:30Speaker 7: No, no, no, I want, I want honestly, I want yeah,
- 30:32Speaker 7: I want honest.
- 30:33Speaker 5: This is what the companies that when I reached out
- 30:34Speaker 5: to them about this, I asked them like, okay, is
- 30:37Speaker 5: there any proof of this? Has anybody been doing this?
- 30:39Speaker 5: And they showed over the last six months or three
- 30:43Speaker 5: to four months, six months and a year progression going
- 30:47Speaker 5: back of people posting online of Hey, if I was
- 30:50Speaker 5: going to do this, this is how I would do it,
- 30:51Speaker 5: and I'd have a CT scanner work. Let me try
- 30:53Speaker 5: this with a Pokemon box and all these so so technic.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Yeah that's possible.
- 30:59Speaker 3: What do you think, talking honestly, what do you think
- 31:02Speaker 3: the odds are that box has been scanned?
- 31:05Speaker 5: Oh, very any box in the world, the odds are low.
- 31:10Speaker 5: That box in particular, I would say less than point one. Oh,
- 31:15Speaker 5: it is very.
- 31:16Speaker 7: Don't You're not saying it as a friend.
- 31:17Speaker 5: I you to say this, Okay, I know this. I
- 31:19Speaker 5: am saying this because the service that they are offering
- 31:23Speaker 5: for people to go out and do this, you would
- 31:24Speaker 5: have had to had a uncle who has a CT
- 31:27Speaker 5: scanner in his basement, which we all have that uncle.
- 31:30Speaker 5: But other than that rare uncle, you are more than
- 31:34Speaker 5: likely not gonna have this sent into that service that
- 31:36Speaker 5: just started a few weeks ago.
- 31:39Speaker 7: Isn't that scary?
- 31:40Speaker 5: Though?
- 31:40Speaker 3: That is tasty, And it's all I can think about
- 31:42Speaker 3: now is do I not even want to open the
- 31:43Speaker 3: box and then resell the box?
- 31:45Speaker 5: Let me help you out here. Go ahead, go ahead
- 31:47Speaker 5: and get that CT scan That way, you don't have
- 31:49Speaker 5: to open them. Yeah, that's possible to you joined the
- 31:51Speaker 5: dark side, start scanning all your boxes. No, see, that's
- 31:55Speaker 5: not fear, that's whatever. I'm afraid people are gonna be
- 31:57Speaker 5: too worried about it, and they're like, oh, well, now
- 32:00Speaker 5: I need to make sure so I will scan my box.
- 32:03Speaker 5: That's how that that whole downslide starts to happen. I say,
- 32:07Speaker 5: let's nip it in the butt. Well, I'm not gonna
- 32:09Speaker 5: talk about it for at least five minutes, five six
- 32:12Speaker 5: more minutes.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, because because every time I listen to you
- 32:16Speaker 3: guys the last three episodes, like I'm not gonna think
- 32:18Speaker 3: about it, and then you guys bring it up.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Yeah I know. Uh, that is the problem though. It's
- 32:23Speaker 5: it's a hot topic, and you know it's it's the
- 32:25Speaker 5: next iteration of packway the guys people that are trying
- 32:29Speaker 5: to be collectors of cards that are more valuable. Typically
- 32:32Speaker 5: those cards might be off by a little difference because
- 32:35Speaker 5: there's a patch in them, or they weigh a little
- 32:38Speaker 5: more because they've got a sticker on there. So the
- 32:39Speaker 5: way the boxes to see, hey, is there something special
- 32:43Speaker 5: in this box? This is the next iteration of weighing boxes.
- 32:46Speaker 5: And people have kind of accepted that, hey, there are
- 32:49Speaker 5: people that weigh and we are gonna move on past that.
- 32:52Speaker 5: We're just not gonna worry. I think, like it's not
- 32:54Speaker 5: real and we're just not gonna worry about it. The
- 32:56Speaker 5: real thing is going forward. If you're being getting new products,
- 32:59Speaker 5: you don't have to worry about it. It's all coming
- 33:01Speaker 5: straight from the factory. That's not CD scan. This is
- 33:04Speaker 5: the only time it's going to be a concern, and yeah,
- 33:07Speaker 5: I don't there's not anything to say. You have the
- 33:10Speaker 5: Cercain stickers that have like a some guy actually reached
- 33:13Speaker 5: out to me. He said, I work in the medical field.
- 33:15Speaker 5: They have stickers you can put on things that show
- 33:18Speaker 5: if it was CT scan they need maybe they need certain.
- 33:21Speaker 3: And then I'll develop a sticker that does the opposite
- 33:23Speaker 3: reverses that he I was looking because I am a
- 33:26Speaker 3: fan of you guys a show. I was looking on
- 33:28Speaker 3: eBay to find Michael J. Fox, like Auto's Back to
- 33:32Speaker 3: the Future.
- 33:33Speaker 5: You listen to that? Yes, oh my god, Yes, Michael J.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Fox's Lloyd. That's your thing. That's what you want. I
- 33:39Speaker 5: want a Michael J. Fox Back to the Future, either
- 33:43Speaker 5: a hover deck, you know the hover Bordex. I would
- 33:46Speaker 5: like to hoverboard because they do sell those. But honestly,
- 33:49Speaker 5: there are cards that would be I would just treasure
- 33:52Speaker 5: that thing forever. I'd put it under my pillow. I'd
- 33:54Speaker 5: put it between me and the wife, and I just like,
- 33:56Speaker 5: don't this is that's Christopher Lloyd and Michael Jay's spot.
- 34:00Speaker 5: We don't enter their spot. Yeah, yeah, that would be
- 34:03Speaker 5: my precious.
- 34:03Speaker 3: And because again you're if I'm correct me if I'm
- 34:07Speaker 3: wrong here, but your main collectibles and cards are not sports.
- 34:11Speaker 3: They're more they're some but more celebrity.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Yes, base yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm a big shaquilonial
- 34:17Speaker 5: as a big man myself, I feel a little closeness
- 34:21Speaker 5: to him. But other than you know, the few different
- 34:24Speaker 5: sports guys that I grew up with, I really am
- 34:27Speaker 5: more into the non sport thing like uh, in fact,
- 34:30Speaker 5: Star Wars. Probably there's this thing tops Chrome. Not only
- 34:33Speaker 5: do they make baseball and all these other works, but
- 34:35Speaker 5: they are now doing Star Wars. Bobby. Do you know
- 34:38Speaker 5: Bobby's never seen Star Wars.
- 34:41Speaker 4: That's not have it.
- 34:41Speaker 5: If I show myself off the stage, That's what I'm saying.
- 34:44Speaker 5: It's weird. How do I do? You've never seen? You
- 34:47Speaker 5: don't just don't care about it.
- 34:48Speaker 3: And that's not that I like the Game of Thrones,
- 34:50Speaker 3: Liort of Rings, I like. I've very like Aliens and
- 34:53Speaker 3: time travel. So I am very I'm yes, I'm very
- 34:56Speaker 3: nerdy and what people would consider traditionally nerdy. I just
- 35:00Speaker 3: as a kid never watched it and then there were
- 35:01Speaker 3: fourteen of them and I was open by catch.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Up with so I just never got in. Can I
- 35:07Speaker 5: be honest with you, I've never seen Godfather.
- 35:10Speaker 7: I mean either oh really, I never watched the Banos
- 35:12Speaker 7: either do we hold.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Hands or something?
- 35:13Speaker 5: I don't know. And there's only three of us or
- 35:16Speaker 5: four of them? Yeah, exactly. Here's the thing about Star Wars.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Are you a Star Trek fans?
- 35:21Speaker 3: Do that? No?
- 35:22Speaker 5: No, no, okay, never mind. I was gonna say, but I
- 35:24Speaker 5: did lantasy.
- 35:25Speaker 7: To be fair, I did like Star Search and Ed
- 35:27Speaker 7: McMahon no really, not saying that's different.
- 35:29Speaker 5: Now, did you did you try out for Star Search?
- 35:31Speaker 5: I could see that too young. I've listened. I was
- 35:33Speaker 5: literally in my daughter's room the other day. I told
- 35:35Speaker 5: you this on the podcast that she listens to. She
- 35:38Speaker 5: was listening to the The Granny. I saw Grandma Naked song.
- 35:42Speaker 7: Just I was stye, that's us, I know, I know.
- 35:44Speaker 5: I was thinking that we did we?
- 35:46Speaker 8: Do you like that?
- 35:47Speaker 4: We're cool that way?
- 35:47Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, what yeah, yeah, I
- 35:53Speaker 3: was in the room she was listening to that.
- 35:54Speaker 5: Anyways, we got way off Trek. Star Wars, the product
- 35:57Speaker 5: that just came out is like one of these things
- 35:59Speaker 5: where now we're seeing not only is it just a
- 36:02Speaker 5: non sport thing because It used to be like you
- 36:04Speaker 5: had your sport card guys, you had your non sport guys.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Now you're seeing so much crossover between the two because
- 36:10Speaker 5: Star Wars is such classic IP intellectual property that everybody,
- 36:14Speaker 5: even your sports card fan, can get in on that
- 36:17Speaker 5: and want the Han solo. The Mark Hamill have no interest.
- 36:22Speaker 4: So no, that's a that's a Han solo interest.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Luke Scott sports card nonsense, you guys is my favorite.
- 36:28Speaker 3: They also talk about sports and but turn it into
- 36:31Speaker 3: really valuable sometimes Mike go is a little too deep
- 36:33Speaker 3: for me. But you know that show based baby. Yeah, uh,
- 36:37Speaker 3: congratulations on Bill. It's such a good show. I really
- 36:39Speaker 3: appreciate your stopping by.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Where are you guys out of Really? Yeah, I didn't
- 36:44Speaker 5: know it, like I'm coming to do the radio show
- 36:45Speaker 5: one morning with you guys. Awesome.
- 36:47Speaker 7: Yeah, he's actually right, Yeah, he's Uh did you know though?
- 36:50Speaker 5: I did not? So you thought about it? No, I
- 36:52Speaker 5: said I was gonna read your.
- 36:53Speaker 7: Money there we go.
- 36:56Speaker 5: No, uh, no, I were right down the road. We
- 36:59Speaker 5: want to come hang out.
- 37:00Speaker 7: We know, we know we only want to talk to
- 37:02Speaker 7: you a professional setting.
- 37:03Speaker 5: So anyway, Yeah, I've worn out my welcome. Goodbye.
- 37:06Speaker 9: Jesse, Thank you, buddy. Yeah, see thanks, Right, that's.
- 37:17Speaker 2: It for the show. Uh, we have to say goodbye to.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Katie A right.
- 37:22Speaker 2: No, I was gonna say to our audience, but also Katie. No,
- 37:24Speaker 2: I wasn't gonna say.
- 37:27Speaker 4: I just found out.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I had no idea this is our last show. It's
- 37:29Speaker 2: her last show.
- 37:31Speaker 3: So the thing about Katie, Just so you guys can
- 37:34Speaker 3: understand the story, I went and spoke. I got like
- 37:37Speaker 3: an award the anybody of Arkansas, and I went to
- 37:38Speaker 3: a big ceremony.
- 37:39Speaker 2: They gave me a medal. It was my doctor. Right now,
- 37:42Speaker 2: I think I'm like a scientist or something. I'm not sure.
- 37:44Speaker 2: They keep adding enoughpgrade yes, thank you, and an astronaut.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I'm not sure what I am now, but it's pretty cool.
- 37:49Speaker 2: It's pretty cool.
- 37:50Speaker 8: You're the head coach of the football team.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Oh that's awesome.
- 37:53Speaker 3: And so I went and spoke to different classes. I
- 37:56Speaker 3: get to like seven talks for different levels of classes
- 37:59Speaker 3: in media, and I want to spoke to a small
- 38:01Speaker 3: group of older students, not non traditional but like seniors
- 38:07Speaker 3: grad students. And I had like a little video because
- 38:11Speaker 3: some of them just have no idea who I am.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I don't expect them to.
- 38:13Speaker 3: And I'm like, hey, before I start telling you my
- 38:17Speaker 3: version and vision, watch this tape so you can like
- 38:20Speaker 3: watch my resume so you don't think I'm just full
- 38:21Speaker 3: of crow cool. So it's like a ninety second thing
- 38:24Speaker 3: and it's like TV stuff, radio stuff, whatever. And Katie
- 38:28Speaker 3: was the person who I gave the file to to
- 38:30Speaker 3: load it in, so she took it to put it up.
- 38:33Speaker 3: And so I told the class anybody that needs anything
- 38:36Speaker 3: like let me help you, just email me.
- 38:39Speaker 2: And so Katie emailed me, was like, hey, can I
- 38:42Speaker 2: like do an internship or something?
- 38:43Speaker 3: And I'm maybe paraphrasing how it goes, and I'm like, no,
- 38:45Speaker 3: you can't do an internship, but if you moved to Nashville,
- 38:47Speaker 3: I will pay you so you can say you had
- 38:49Speaker 3: a job and add that to the resume.
- 38:52Speaker 5: It's pretty cool.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Yeah, again you can just you can in turn your
- 38:56Speaker 3: lights out and that's great and you make connections or
- 39:00Speaker 3: and you know Peter, and you can say you actually
- 39:03Speaker 3: had a position in a somewhat respected organization. And so
- 39:08Speaker 3: Katie's been here, but she's going back to finish her masters.
- 39:11Speaker 2: How much I just have.
- 39:12Speaker 8: Two semesters, so almost done. Finish line is really.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Close, and so she and she's still gonna do some
- 39:19Speaker 3: stuff for me and us.
- 39:20Speaker 2: As she's doing that, I'm not gonna kill her with stuff.
- 39:22Speaker 3: But she's still gonna do some videos like you can
- 39:24Speaker 3: kill me with light stay if you don't get your degree,
- 39:28Speaker 3: will I will kill you.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Then she flunks her finally because she was doing a video.
- 39:33Speaker 3: But but this is it, She's going back to Arkansas.
- 39:36Speaker 3: I did not know her beforehand. There was it was
- 39:38Speaker 3: simply an email and I was like, I.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Would love to help you.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I hope that this has been a really cool experience
- 39:43Speaker 3: for you.
- 39:43Speaker 8: It's been incredible, Like Private Bland, Steve Young.
- 39:50Speaker 2: That's what she goes to. What show was that? But
- 39:57Speaker 2: that's also not normal. No, she came in to like
- 40:00Speaker 2: an organization.
- 40:01Speaker 3: That we're pretty yeah, Private Plane, Stave Young, Jim.
- 40:08Speaker 8: Aside from that, you guys have all been so welcoming,
- 40:12Speaker 8: like this is one of the fewest work environments that's
- 40:14Speaker 8: just been like so incredible from the day one and
- 40:17Speaker 8: consistent the whole way through. So I appreciate all of
- 40:20Speaker 8: you guys so much for that.
- 40:21Speaker 2: And when once you leave here, we will forget who
- 40:23Speaker 2: you are.
- 40:23Speaker 4: But still.
- 40:25Speaker 2: So you're going to go get your degree. Then what's
- 40:28Speaker 2: the goal.
- 40:29Speaker 8: What's the goal working in the entertainment industry. I mean
- 40:33Speaker 8: I can't sing and I can't act or anything like that,
- 40:36Speaker 8: but I can talk to people. So something with that
- 40:38Speaker 8: end of it, whether it be hosting something or anything
- 40:41Speaker 8: in that area, would be the goal. I went to
- 40:44Speaker 8: school originally to do sideline reporting, so something with that
- 40:47Speaker 8: or something with hosting, I'm open to anything in the industry.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Really well, we're rooting for you. We care about you.
- 40:54Speaker 3: You've been awesome, You've had a lot of great stories.
- 40:57Speaker 3: And I don't know a plus all the way. Oh
- 41:00Speaker 3: we give you an A plus. So now you just
- 41:01Speaker 3: need one more semester that counts as a grade. But
- 41:04Speaker 3: if there's something too, if I can write like a sheet,
- 41:06Speaker 3: because you're not an intern.
- 41:08Speaker 2: We said that from the very beginning.
- 41:09Speaker 3: You are a paid employee, and we're going to create
- 41:11Speaker 3: some cool name for a position.
- 41:12Speaker 2: To like director of make it. Oh yeah, of course.
- 41:16Speaker 3: And then that's really what I'm going to say, the
- 41:17Speaker 3: job boy, so she can put it on her resumes.
- 41:19Speaker 2: And so.
- 41:22Speaker 3: If there's like a job we can help you with,
- 41:25Speaker 3: or if you need me to write a letter to
- 41:27Speaker 3: say you did. In turn, if I give you credit,
- 41:29Speaker 3: I'll also do that if it'll but if not, you're
- 41:32Speaker 3: not really an enter.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I mean, and this could be in her resume, right
- 41:34Speaker 2: like this is that she worked here. No, no, it
- 41:36Speaker 2: should be.
- 41:36Speaker 3: That's why we did it, like head head director of
- 41:41Speaker 3: digital for multiple properties including Yeah, whatever it is, we'll
- 41:46Speaker 3: create a cool style, long title. So she's going back
- 41:49Speaker 3: to school. We just hired Casey now not just for
- 41:53Speaker 3: this show, but Casey.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Welcome to the group.
- 41:55Speaker 4: Thank you very much.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Casey is not replacing because nobody could.
- 42:01Speaker 3: But Casey is now working but working for the entire
- 42:03Speaker 3: podcast network, and so I hied Casey full time.
- 42:06Speaker 2: But Casey is also a big sports.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Fan and it's going to be doing some editing for
- 42:11Speaker 3: like the video and be part of the you know,
- 42:13Speaker 3: the group. But so it's almost like Katie was reincarnated
- 42:17Speaker 3: and she lives within Casey.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Came a boy from New York.
- 42:23Speaker 5: Mets New York exactly.
- 42:25Speaker 2: So you might hear Casey a little bit. Who's your team?
- 42:29Speaker 3: Jay E t Jess jests, jests, that'll be something we
- 42:33Speaker 3: talk about it other point.
