- 0:22Speaker 2: off the pitch. We did it, dude, full hour. You're
- 0:25Speaker 2: barely even sweating.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I'm gonna it's gonna be bad. I feel like the sun.
- 0:29Speaker 2: That's right. Hey, if you just dropped the kids off
- 0:31Speaker 2: and they were making you listen to like K pop
- 0:34Speaker 2: Demon Hunters, and now you are finally able to tune
- 0:36Speaker 2: in to Off the Bench because you just got them
- 0:39Speaker 2: dropped off, well, welcome in one. Good morning eight oh one.
- 0:42Speaker 2: So you know what that means. Let him fly, don't
- 0:47Speaker 2: let him fly like you almost did last segment.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I did not, Ali did text me and so did
- 0:51Speaker 3: the laundra and multiple people.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It was good, good stuff though, but you you contained yourself,
- 0:56Speaker 2: you held it in and if you just joined us,
- 0:58Speaker 2: we appreciate you joining in. It's Thursday morning, Draft day.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Finally the talk is over, the picks are about to
- 1:04Speaker 2: be in. Yeah, and we are live from the LSU
- 1:08Speaker 2: Parade grounds, right, here in the middle of LSU's campus.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And yes, this is not Jacobster. This is Chris Marler
- 1:15Speaker 2: with me from the internet, runs the social media here
- 1:18Speaker 2: one in four five and he's also an expert at dogs.
- 1:23Speaker 2: What else?
- 1:24Speaker 3: Closing the pronunciation, that was tough? What else am I?
- 1:28Speaker 3: I'm good at mental math?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Mental math? Yeah, okay, time seventy.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Two, Okay, that's insane to do. Okay, all right, come
- 1:37Speaker 3: back an hour three and I'll have that figured out.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I wouldn't say I was gonna say like addition or
- 1:42Speaker 3: like change, like when you look at the grocery store
- 1:45Speaker 3: thirty four times two is a crazy thing.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Wow, Okay, the second the first thing that you could
- 1:49Speaker 2: come up with that you're good at. You said middle math,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and then you say that's got to.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Be addition, subtraction. That plus signe really really gets me. Really,
- 2:00Speaker 3: it's not my best Okay, anyway, I'm good at other stuff.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know what else.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Obviously, it used to be funny that was that those
- 2:08Speaker 3: are the good old days, remember when yeah, hard worker,
- 2:14Speaker 3: we established that up early. That's all I got. What
- 2:18Speaker 3: are you? What are you good at football?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Not leading the radio show, not leading the radio show.
- 2:23Speaker 3: For sure, that's about yourself. Let's all say one positive
- 2:26Speaker 3: thing about Flynn.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Listen into jam bands. I'm pretty good at that. Blink in.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I've discovered that I'm the lead at that. It's not
- 2:33Speaker 2: every blinking.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, not everybody does that.
- 2:36Speaker 2: All back here, that's good, thank you.
- 2:39Speaker 3: All right, let's talk about Tye Simpson.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Listen the NFL drafts tonight. We're about to get into it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But before we do, let's make sure that we it's
- 2:48Speaker 2: our number two. Let's make sure we get this show started.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So Tom, it's time to get glowing courtesy of Go
- 2:53Speaker 1: Flow ivy spa, where hydration, vitamins and a summer ready
- 2:57Speaker 1: glow are always on tap. Now for starters, all.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Right, gotta go flow IV Go flow iv dot com
- 3:07Speaker 2: your IV SPA IV therapy over there Jefferson Highway, nearby
- 3:11Speaker 2: cars right here in Paton Rouge Marl. Have you ever
- 3:13Speaker 2: had IV therapy.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Before, I've had therapy. I've not had IV therapy.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Okay, very We're gonna just leave that right there. I'm
- 3:20Speaker 2: just gonna gig a little bit and move on. Well,
- 3:23Speaker 2: you need to go get a little IV because it
- 3:24Speaker 2: gets straight to the veins. And we're talking about hydration.
- 3:27Speaker 2: We're talking about vitamins. Get hydrated, to get vitamized. Right
- 3:30Speaker 2: over there at go flow iv SPA. And Hey, if
- 3:33Speaker 2: you got a little sick tummy, they little something can
- 3:35Speaker 2: put in that IV. They got some ad ins. If
- 3:37Speaker 2: you got some inflammation. I know probably if you start
- 3:40Speaker 2: working out again and you got a little inflammation, a
- 3:43Speaker 2: little soreness, they got stuff for that. I'm knocked that
- 3:45Speaker 2: right out. So go in there, get you an account.
- 3:48Speaker 2: About thirty forty five minutes to get that first IV.
- 3:50Speaker 2: You'll look in Phil, You'll walk in feeling one way,
- 3:53Speaker 2: and you're gonna walk out feeling a lot better and
- 3:55Speaker 2: probably even looking better. Go to go Flow IV SPA,
- 3:57Speaker 2: Go flow iv dot com. All right, So I wanted
- 4:01Speaker 2: to kind of something's kind of peaked my interest a
- 4:04Speaker 2: little bit. Ty Simpson, he's going to be what you know,
- 4:09Speaker 2: for our everything that we know and can predict, he's
- 4:12Speaker 2: going to be the second quarterback taken off the board.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I don't know if that's going to be tonight. I
- 4:17Speaker 2: think a lot of people are probably saying he's got
- 4:19Speaker 2: a decent chance. The higher odds are he will go tonight.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Maybe it's maybe it's something crazy with the Cardinals trade
- 4:27Speaker 2: Check up into the second round, maybe they take him.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I don't know what's going to happen, but you got
- 4:31Speaker 2: to think it's a crazy world that we live in
- 4:32Speaker 2: such a quarterback driven league and a quarterback driven sport
- 4:36Speaker 2: that we could go to sleep tonight and there's only
- 4:39Speaker 2: one quarterback off the board in the first round.
- 4:41Speaker 3: At number one, at number one, thirty one straight pick.
- 4:44Speaker 3: You would not. I mean, well, here's the thing too, Flynn,
- 4:46Speaker 3: I think you brought this up the other day, and
- 4:48Speaker 3: I hope I hope the same for Ty Simpson as
- 4:52Speaker 3: I hope for Garrett Aspire, which is I hope he
- 4:54Speaker 3: is not drafted by the Cardinals and needs to go
- 4:55Speaker 3: in and play right away. I don't want to see
- 4:57Speaker 3: either of those things happen. I think there's so many
- 5:00Speaker 3: Well I was gonna say, I don't want that to
- 5:01Speaker 3: happen either of them. But yes, let's definitely hope one
- 5:04Speaker 3: of their careers just doesn't work out, right, I mean,
- 5:07Speaker 3: we'll just call it a toss a coin. No, So
- 5:10Speaker 3: I think it would be very wild to see only
- 5:14Speaker 3: one quarterback taken right now. The odds of Ty being
- 5:16Speaker 3: taken the first round or minus four hundred. The odds
- 5:19Speaker 3: of having over one and a half quarterbacks in the
- 5:21Speaker 3: first round was also minus four hundred, So it seems
- 5:24Speaker 3: like that's going to happen to night. Here's the other
- 5:26Speaker 3: thing I'm banking all this in on, right. Every year
- 5:30Speaker 3: someone does something dumb. Someone drafted Anthony Richardson. One time
- 5:32Speaker 3: they saw him throw a football at his pro day.
- 5:35Speaker 3: He hit a ceiling.
- 5:36Speaker 2: They can't throw it pretty good.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Sure, sure, but not to anyone there. But like and
- 5:43Speaker 3: ty Simson, anything interesting. They look almost identical that they're
- 5:45Speaker 3: the same type of athlete, for sure. No, but my
- 5:48Speaker 3: point is that they always do Somebody always says something stupid?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Can he Pickett was a first round draft pick. Someone
- 5:54Speaker 3: will do something that I got of necessity, And I
- 5:55Speaker 3: think like the Cardinals, the Saints or not the Saints,
- 5:58Speaker 3: the Cardinals, the Rams and then also the Stealer are
- 6:00Speaker 3: all like three teams that need someone. I don't think
- 6:03Speaker 3: anyone's going to necessarily trade way up to get him.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I don't see him slipping out of the first round.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I also think he's done a lot better than people
- 6:10Speaker 3: gave him credit for. Since the season has ended, right.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I think he's done really well in like the pre
- 6:14Speaker 3: right circuit.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Right, And it's and I don't want to say, like,
- 6:19Speaker 2: looking back on it, there's a lot of picks that
- 6:21Speaker 2: look stupid. Now. It even looks stupider when it's a
- 6:24Speaker 2: quarterback in the first round because that's the most important
- 6:26Speaker 2: position in all the sports and no big deal sorry running.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Back Atlanta Falcons.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So it looks really dumb when it doesn't work out.
- 6:32Speaker 2: But a high percentage of quarterbacks taking the first round
- 6:36Speaker 2: don't work out, right, A high percentage of quarterbacks taken
- 6:39Speaker 2: in general don't work out. But a high percentage of
- 6:41Speaker 2: people just drafted in general at any position doesn't work out.
- 6:46Speaker 2: So yeah, it looks stupid on the back end, and
- 6:47Speaker 2: people who lose their jobs for that. Yeah, it is
- 6:51Speaker 2: hard to draft a quarterback because none of the can
- 6:54Speaker 2: you pick. It was not a stupid pick at the time.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It was like quarterback tiny hands.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah. I always said he was thrower, not a shower,
- 7:01Speaker 3: because they had his his hands were a size eight.
- 7:04Speaker 3: It was the smallest hands or third smallest hands in
- 7:05Speaker 3: the combine history, which is kind of wild.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Throw not a shower. I like that, but Ty Simpson
- 7:10Speaker 2: he will probably I guess we could probably say he
- 7:13Speaker 2: will be the second quarterback taken. I was looking it up.
- 7:16Speaker 2: So ty Simpson was offered a very lucrative deal to
- 7:22Speaker 2: go to the University of Miami.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I think it was like five or five and a
- 7:25Speaker 2: half at first, and then they upped it to six
- 7:27Speaker 2: and a half. Now I think this is all reportedly.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I don't know if this is I don't know if
- 7:31Speaker 2: any nil stuff can be firm because it's also dumb.
- 7:34Speaker 2: But it was reportedly offered six and a half million
- 7:37Speaker 2: dollars to go to the University of Miami, right and
- 7:40Speaker 2: just and they've obviously the Miami has done that. That's
- 7:43Speaker 2: been their path to success and it's worked, cam Ward
- 7:46Speaker 2: Carson Beck, that's like there been their path to be
- 7:48Speaker 2: relevant again in the college football scene. And you know
- 7:51Speaker 2: which is smart. And I agree college football isn't a
- 7:54Speaker 2: healthier place when University of Miami is good at football,
- 7:56Speaker 2: So it's it's a lot more fun for everybody. I
- 7:58Speaker 2: think when they are good, you might not like them,
- 8:01Speaker 2: I don't, but you still want to be good.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I don't like that sentiment usually when it said, but
- 8:05Speaker 3: I like that about Miami people say that about Tennessee
- 8:08Speaker 3: a lot, and I'm like, no, the world is a
- 8:09Speaker 3: better parents Tennessee.
- 8:10Speaker 2: So I only say that about people outside of the
- 8:13Speaker 2: secit now I do like hand in the air. I
- 8:17Speaker 2: hate Florida, hand up Marlow, hand up marks. I hate Florida,
- 8:20Speaker 2: but I always want them to be relevant because I
- 8:24Speaker 2: wanted to be able to beat them fair when they're
- 8:26Speaker 2: at their best.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I like the first part of that sentence even now though, Oh.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Okay, So Todd Simpson offered six and a half million
- 8:35Speaker 2: dollars and he did not take that. Obviously, he entered
- 8:38Speaker 2: the draft. He's going to go. He's like the opposite
- 8:40Speaker 2: of Trinidad Chambliss. He actually wants to play in the NFL.
- 8:44Speaker 2: But I was looking at it, and I was kind
- 8:46Speaker 2: of looking at projected salaries and money for all the
- 8:51Speaker 2: first round picks. Todd Simpson is going to need to
- 8:53Speaker 2: be drafted at least in the top thirty five to
- 8:56Speaker 2: break even on what he was being offered.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I think at Miami, I'm looking at her it says
- 9:01Speaker 3: ninety six is six point six million.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's total contract. I saw him making money next year.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Point okay, Yeah, so six and a half million next year.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Last year, the thirty fifth pick was uh nick immin worry.
- 9:14Speaker 2: His bonus was five point oh seven seven million, And
- 9:17Speaker 2: then it's like, I think he's a little workout bonus
- 9:19Speaker 2: than a smaller salary pick. So he made a Yeah,
- 9:24Speaker 2: he made around that thirty fifth pick last year made
- 9:27Speaker 2: eight around maybe just south of six point five million.
- 9:30Speaker 2: But I just thought it was a funny comp to say, like, look,
- 9:32Speaker 2: you gotta at least be drafted thirty fifth to break
- 9:34Speaker 2: even from your Miami offer. Now, of course, the contract,
- 9:38Speaker 2: if you're in the first round of your contract's going
- 9:39Speaker 2: to be fully guaranteed. So yeah, that contract will be
- 9:42Speaker 2: if you go in the wait, it's going to be
- 9:44Speaker 2: you know, in the upboards of let's see, I got
- 9:45Speaker 2: it pulled up here, picks thirty one through thirty two anywhere.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Pick twenty one is going to be nineteen point eight
- 9:53Speaker 2: seven to five million guaranteed. Pick thirty two is sixteen
- 9:57Speaker 2: point one sixty eight fully guaranteed. So there's not a
- 9:59Speaker 2: lot of different and no that last once you get
- 10:03Speaker 2: past twenty like you're making obviously a ton of money, and.
- 10:06Speaker 3: He's already made money. I think at BAM, I don't
- 10:08Speaker 3: know what they would have paid him. I will say
- 10:09Speaker 3: this too, I think there's some quarterbacks I think it's
- 10:12Speaker 3: a really good move for. But you saw with Carson Beck,
- 10:14Speaker 3: Carson Beck going in twenty twenty four, there were some
- 10:17Speaker 3: mock drafts that had him as the number one overall pick, yep.
- 10:19Speaker 3: And then he kind of struggled against elite teams at
- 10:20Speaker 3: Georgia in twenty twenty four, you know, like all the
- 10:22Speaker 3: interceptions he had against Bama, against Texas, against Florida, who
- 10:26Speaker 3: was elite defensively, I guess. And then you talk about
- 10:29Speaker 3: what he did at Miami, like he did not have
- 10:31Speaker 3: the cam Wards season. He had a good season, but
- 10:33Speaker 3: he didn't involve his his draft stats I think. I mean,
- 10:36Speaker 3: six and a half million is a crazy amount turned down.
- 10:38Speaker 3: But I think that also Simpsons is a unique case
- 10:42Speaker 3: just because he's been a guy that waited for three
- 10:44Speaker 3: years in the same age as kind of crazy. I
- 10:47Speaker 3: think it's a white choice. But I also I like
- 10:49Speaker 3: what you're saying too, there's not that much of a
- 10:50Speaker 3: crazy drop off from It's not like how it used
- 10:52Speaker 3: to be, where like a top end guy's will cripple
- 10:54Speaker 3: your franchise if it doesn't work out.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah, if you get to the top, you start getting
- 10:57Speaker 2: to the top picks. Yeah, Fernanda Mendoza, who's likely going
- 10:59Speaker 2: to hear his name called first.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It's nice Lego nerd alert Uh.
- 11:03Speaker 2: He will have a guaranteed contract of fifty four million dollars.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Pick number two, drops of fifty two, Pick three, fifty,
- 11:10Speaker 2: pick four, forty eight.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Million loser under said, h are.
- 11:13Speaker 2: You kidding me? Pick number five will be forty five million,
- 11:18Speaker 2: and then pick number eight, which is what we're focused
- 11:21Speaker 2: on for the Saints. Of course, you know the Saints
- 11:23Speaker 2: are looking at striking that contract at thirty one million dollars,
- 11:26Speaker 2: so the diffest win one in eight is a little
- 11:30Speaker 2: over twenty three million dollars.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Well, let me tell you a little story too about
- 11:33Speaker 3: the eighth pick from someone that has a lot of
- 11:35Speaker 3: past trauma we mentioned earlier with the okay hydration therapy,
- 11:42Speaker 3: but also being from Atlanta in the Atlanta Falcons. What
- 11:44Speaker 3: you should not do? And I hope mikey, I do
- 11:46Speaker 3: know Mickey watches the show, so Mick, you can see
- 11:48Speaker 3: you again. This is really hey, mister Loomis Marl Chris
- 11:55Speaker 3: Marler from the Internet. Hope you have a great Thursday.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Do not go get a guy like her cousins for
- 12:00Speaker 3: one hundred and eighty million and then draft a quarterback
- 12:02Speaker 3: and is also pretty bad that.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Clip of the GM there trying to explain to Arthur
- 12:07Speaker 2: Blank like, hey, this is why it was a good idea.
- 12:09Speaker 2: You see, he yeah, got his shoulder into it. So yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 2: don't do that. That's a bad look. And you said
- 12:16Speaker 2: it earlier. Look, Mickey Lomis has a change. He's riding
- 12:18Speaker 2: a heater right now. He really is right there, like
- 12:20Speaker 2: he's taken a bad rap for from Saints fans, the
- 12:24Speaker 2: public of the court of public opinion in New Orleans
- 12:28Speaker 2: Saints fandom as he's taken a lot of a lot
- 12:31Speaker 2: of heat and rightfully so, I mean there's been some
- 12:33Speaker 2: there's been some bad moves made, some bad contract sign
- 12:35Speaker 2: I think it was all kind of capped off with
- 12:37Speaker 2: the Derek Carr situation of you know, not.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Only bad Derek Carr, not good guy.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Noted Car enthusiast as well for him and his bro
- 12:47Speaker 2: electric personalities kind of like us right now, did.
- 12:52Speaker 3: He announce his retirement at didn't he like clap back
- 12:55Speaker 3: at someone from a Twitter's comment like while giving his
- 12:58Speaker 3: like sermon. I remember making a graphic for this is
- 13:01Speaker 3: called like the Righteous Carstones, and it was him. He
- 13:04Speaker 3: was like, he wasn't in a pulpit, but he was
- 13:06Speaker 3: like at one of those mega churches where you have
- 13:07Speaker 3: like a Brittany mic you know what I mean? Sure,
- 13:09Speaker 3: And he was like walking the stage and he was
- 13:11Speaker 3: like talking trash back about something that was said about
- 13:14Speaker 3: him on Twitter. I think I was like, what an
- 13:15Speaker 3: odd forum for you to do that? In Derek Carr.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Time and place is what you're saying, time and place? Well,
- 13:22Speaker 2: good ridden. So I think that a lot of the.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Okay fruit was he doing?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Okay, all right, all right, let's not celebrate it. I
- 13:29Speaker 2: think a lot of the yeah, it was years of
- 13:32Speaker 2: first and second round draft picks that made it was
- 13:35Speaker 2: a little head scratching, and then the signing to Derek Carr,
- 13:38Speaker 2: and then the you know, it went so well at
- 13:41Speaker 2: the beginning, the re signing as well of Derek Carr
- 13:44Speaker 2: because it went so well, How to scratch your heads
- 13:46Speaker 2: a little bit, But Mickey write an absolute heater right now. Yeah, look,
- 13:50Speaker 2: nothing's going to light up our chat on YouTube. I
- 13:52Speaker 2: gotta say it. Mickey Limits has done a nice job.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I don't everyone's being kind of nice to me right now.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I don't want to ruin.
- 13:57Speaker 2: That that's true. Do you want to say anything bad
- 14:00Speaker 2: about Mickey then I.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Just think everyone should do their best today.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Just have fun.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I want everyone to have fun, you know what I mean.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I think that's the most important thing when it comes
- 14:09Speaker 2: to sports.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I do not love sportsmanship. I think sportsmanship is supid.
- 14:14Speaker 2: You know what we used to do?
- 14:15Speaker 3: So in baseball you have to at the end of
- 14:17Speaker 3: the weekend series, you have to like do one of
- 14:20Speaker 3: the east to the other team have five good game,
- 14:21Speaker 3: good weekend, blah blah blah. Yeah, so this is I'm
- 14:24Speaker 3: dating myself. Cassie was like negative three years old when
- 14:27Speaker 3: I was because this is like twenty years ago when
- 14:29Speaker 3: I was playing in college and so I wasn't a
- 14:32Speaker 3: key contributor. I was a great, great team guy, glue
- 14:36Speaker 3: guy off the bench, hell of a bunner. And I
- 14:40Speaker 3: remember I would lead the team though in those and
- 14:43Speaker 3: I would just we would just demoralized teams. We were
- 14:44Speaker 3: really good, and we would just demmralize teams on a
- 14:47Speaker 3: weekend and then I would lead the pack and do
- 14:48Speaker 3: like one of these like as you're like walking up, yeah,
- 14:51Speaker 3: come ah, and I'd like I do this little paper
- 14:53Speaker 3: beach rock and just watch people's hands crumble. So that's
- 14:56Speaker 3: where I'm at with sportsmanship. Okay, I'm glad I shared
- 14:59Speaker 3: that with you guys.
- 15:00Speaker 2: All right, Well that was always kind of like an
- 15:02Speaker 2: elite move, like an alpha move.
- 15:04Speaker 4: You got it.
- 15:04Speaker 2: You gotta do something or like Jack though, you're gonna
- 15:06Speaker 2: handshake then you then you dap them. You look at
- 15:09Speaker 2: them like they're the idiots.
- 15:10Speaker 3: I love that.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Two squirrels, by the way, no each other, just down
- 15:13Speaker 2: the dree I don't know if.
- 15:14Speaker 3: They're two times.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I don't know if they're actually fighting or they are friends.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Oh three three squirrels. My god, I thought it was
- 15:21Speaker 2: a joke. No, there is actually under six. It's actually
- 15:27Speaker 2: my four thing. Well, we are here at the.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Tell Us in the chat your favorite squirrel, favorite squirrel story.
- 15:33Speaker 3: We're doing all squirrel stuff today. NFL Draft is live tonight.
- 15:38Speaker 2: But more importantly, fox squirrel is my favorite squirrel knocks
- 15:41Speaker 2: the cat squirrel.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Are there different types of squirrels we have, like some
- 15:45Speaker 3: albino ones in our neighborhood. Okay, yeah, I don't like them.
- 15:50Speaker 2: They stay out of there, try to keep killor out
- 15:52Speaker 2: of this bud. Okay, we are here, you stop, just stop.
- 16:02Speaker 2: We're here from the LSU Parade Grounds all day long,
- 16:04Speaker 2: all the shows, Bitch, the HPS Show with Cassie and
- 16:09Speaker 2: Hunt and after further of you later on, Matt Musco
- 16:14Speaker 2: will be her live here from the LSU Parade Grounds.
- 16:16Speaker 2: While we're on Team Kate today asking you to come
- 16:18Speaker 2: get a swab test to help save a life of
- 16:20Speaker 2: eleven year old little girl Katy that's been fighting cancer.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Diagnosed with cancer a rare form and she needs bone marraw.
- 16:27Speaker 2: She needs a to find a bone marrow match for her,
- 16:31Speaker 2: and they it's hard to find. Thousands and thousands people
- 16:33Speaker 2: have already gotten swabbed at different universities, and they're holding
- 16:37Speaker 2: all these events at universities because the right, the better
- 16:41Speaker 2: chance I guess of survival is if the bone marrack
- 16:44Speaker 2: comes from ages eighteen to thirty five. So what a
- 16:46Speaker 2: great opportunity it is for LSU people and people in
- 16:49Speaker 2: bat rusa show up, show out, get swabbed and if
- 16:52Speaker 2: you if that is something that speaks to you, to
- 16:55Speaker 2: come and try to save a life. So I'll be
- 16:58Speaker 2: doing it, I'll be getting swabbed and hopefully it's a match.
- 17:02Speaker 3: We're not in the age ran well because you're old right.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I am, I'm outside of the d But that doesn't
- 17:06Speaker 2: mean it can't work. It's a match as a match.
- 17:09Speaker 2: It's just the better odds.
- 17:10Speaker 3: And again you might not know that you are a match,
- 17:12Speaker 3: and so just it doesn't help it or doesn't hurt
- 17:14Speaker 3: to come down here and try to do some good,
- 17:16Speaker 3: save someone's life, get swabbed.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Up yep, and then you can also go. If you
- 17:19Speaker 2: can't make it, you can also go to I give
- 17:22Speaker 2: you one website. There's actually another website you can go

- 19:09Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in off the bench Thursday morning, Flynn,

- 19:17Speaker 2: we are happy and lucky enough to have one of

- 19:23Speaker 2: the phone, mister Ross Jackson from Lockdown Saints podcast and
- 19:27Speaker 2: Louisiana Sports dot Net. Ross, what's going on with Man?
- 19:31Speaker 2: What's up?
- 19:31Speaker 4: Guys? Thanks much for having Man. Hope you do well.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I'm doing fantastic, not as good as you are, probably
- 19:35Speaker 2: because my god, the talk is over. You finally can
- 19:39Speaker 2: stop like writing articles and answering questions about like what
- 19:43Speaker 2: you think and all this stuff, and like, I don't know,
- 19:46Speaker 2: what is it, ten hours, twelve hours, you're gonna be
- 19:49Speaker 2: able to write something about somebody specific.
- 19:53Speaker 4: It is a nice feeling. I'm not gonna lie, but
- 19:56Speaker 4: I do very much enjoy the entire draft process. That
- 19:59Speaker 4: is a lot of fun. But yeah, I think, I
- 20:01Speaker 4: think not just not just folks that are like creating
- 20:04Speaker 4: the content for people that are taking in the content,
- 20:06Speaker 4: Like the fans are very very very excited about this
- 20:08Speaker 4: as well in terms of an opportunity to finally take
- 20:10Speaker 4: this from hypothetical into reality.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yeah, is this like a is this like an event
- 20:14Speaker 2: that you know? This is this is your job, This
- 20:16Speaker 2: is what you do? Is like this is your passion.
- 20:18Speaker 2: And it's been a lot of build up that's come
- 20:20Speaker 2: to this. But do you ever like get to take
- 20:22Speaker 2: your hat off? Is this one of those moments where
- 20:24Speaker 2: at least for a little while, just kind of take
- 20:26Speaker 2: your hat off, put your Saints hat on, and just
- 20:29Speaker 2: be a fan for a little bit at the at
- 20:31Speaker 2: the draft.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I would love that, but unfortunately, no, not there yet.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Every every one of.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Those guys that get drafted is going to have about
- 20:41Speaker 4: three articles written about him by selection.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So ross, it's a Chris Marler here. I hope you're
- 20:50Speaker 3: doing well, dude.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I know you.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Yeah, we know each other. We have Christmas parties together.
- 20:55Speaker 3: So we brought this up earlier, and we're talking about
- 20:57Speaker 3: just some of the odds on some of the the
- 20:59Speaker 3: players can go at eight. And I know that you
- 21:01Speaker 3: and I have talked about this, and I know I promised,
- 21:03Speaker 3: I'm not trying to steer you in this direction. But
- 21:05Speaker 3: I brought up the fact that I know that Tyson
- 21:07Speaker 3: and Tate are are two receivers, and it seems like
- 21:09Speaker 3: it's between those two and maybe Delaine. But if you
- 21:11Speaker 3: can get Delaine at eight and then a guy like
- 21:15Speaker 3: Chris Bell from Louisville in the second round, I feel
- 21:18Speaker 3: like that's the perfect first and second round, like combination
- 21:21Speaker 3: of picks, like what would you be in your ideal world?
- 21:24Speaker 3: Where do they go with this pick? And the second
- 21:26Speaker 3: pick as well?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Oh what happened Rossy there? Oh Cassie, did you hang
- 21:38Speaker 2: up on him?
- 21:40Speaker 3: Is that my fault?
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah? That was a very good question, very well said
- 21:43Speaker 2: long wind. Did we'll put did you did you work
- 21:46Speaker 2: that one in the mirror last night?
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yeah? I was practicing a lot beforehand.
- 21:50Speaker 2: You work shopped a little bit. Yeah, hold on, I
- 21:52Speaker 2: think we got him connected again. All right, We're good.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Roger there, Yeah, sorry, I just I just could not
- 22:01Speaker 4: stand to hear Marley.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I know, I get it, dude, I've had to listen
- 22:04Speaker 2: to for an hour twenty six minutes.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Let's all get in there, all right, love it? Okay,
- 22:09Speaker 3: So I was asking about I said, I know the
- 22:11Speaker 3: two guys at eight, Tyson and Tate have been to
- 22:14Speaker 3: the two receivers that have been most linked to the
- 22:17Speaker 3: number eight pick with the Saints. Also there's Delane. I
- 22:19Speaker 3: feel like, in a perfect world, getting a guy like
- 22:22Speaker 3: Delaying at eight and then Chris Bell from Louisville in
- 22:25Speaker 3: the second round would be the most perfect first and
- 22:27Speaker 3: second round combination you can get what like, give me
- 22:30Speaker 3: your ideal one two they go off the board for
- 22:32Speaker 3: the Saints this year.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Yeah, that's awesome. I think there's like a couple of
- 22:37Speaker 4: different scenarios that I think would be perfect for them.
- 22:39Speaker 4: I think you're possibly landing one of those top wide
- 22:42Speaker 4: receivers in the first round and then turning around and
- 22:44Speaker 4: getting a really effective slat corner like Deontay Scott out
- 22:48Speaker 4: of Miami or trade and Suits out of Arizona would
- 22:50Speaker 4: be a really good setup for.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Them as well.
- 22:52Speaker 4: But hearing the things that Mickey Loomis talked about yesterday,
- 22:55Speaker 4: Saint shold manager how they're willing to build on a
- 22:58Speaker 4: strange how they're planning to take the best player available
- 23:01Speaker 4: as opposed to investing in a specific position, looking for
- 23:04Speaker 4: a sure thing mitigating risk, all those things.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I also think that.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Maybe the perfect player for them in the first round
- 23:10Speaker 4: might be fakey Caleb Downs out of Ohio State, last
- 23:13Speaker 4: player in the draft in my opinion, completely clean in
- 23:16Speaker 4: terms of evaluation, checkups, all.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Those other things.
- 23:20Speaker 2: A player that is.
- 23:22Speaker 4: An immediate fifth in your defense and could be a
- 23:24Speaker 4: long time piece in that defense as well. And one
- 23:29Speaker 4: of the things he talked about was like avoiding players
- 23:30Speaker 4: that have unanswered questions. There's not a single unanswered question
- 23:34Speaker 4: about Caleb Downs. He's just really good, and so him
- 23:36Speaker 4: in the first round, along with Mint or Delayed in
- 23:39Speaker 4: the first round, also checks every one of those boxes.
- 23:42Speaker 4: And a wide receiver in the second or even a
- 23:44Speaker 4: pass rusher in the second would be awesome too. So
- 23:46Speaker 4: I would say Delaine or Downs in the first round
- 23:50Speaker 4: and then like a Zion Young in the second round
- 23:53Speaker 4: and then maybe a Ted Hurst in the third would
- 23:56Speaker 4: be a really really strong first three selections. And so
- 23:59Speaker 4: I think maybe starting off with that.
- 24:01Speaker 2: dB end and maybe edge.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Rusher as early as possible could.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Also be a way that makes.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Ted Hurst from Georgia State right the one we talked about.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I think that in one of your bock drafts she
- 24:12Speaker 3: did a while back. Did I do it again?
- 24:16Speaker 2: I don't know. Shoot, I find what you're saying interesting
- 24:21Speaker 2: because we've kind of talked about you have to, like
- 24:25Speaker 2: we've kind of been on the fence on this show
- 24:27Speaker 2: at least that within the first two picks you got
- 24:28Speaker 2: to find a receiver and the number one odds for
- 24:33Speaker 2: the pick tonight based on the Vegas odds as Jordan
- 24:36Speaker 2: Tyson being there. Now we've sucked about like athletically and
- 24:40Speaker 2: his skill set might be the only guy that is
- 24:43Speaker 2: worthy of that top ten pick. But there's that risk,
- 24:47Speaker 2: there's a risk that that threat of that there's might
- 24:49Speaker 2: be some unanswered questions with that Chris have brought up,
- 24:52Speaker 2: like Chris Bell in the second But you got to
- 24:54Speaker 2: get a receiver that makes an impact quick and there's
- 24:56Speaker 2: obviously the injury risk with him. So basically kind of
- 25:00Speaker 2: what your thoughts are ross you don't see them potentially,
- 25:03Speaker 2: you don't see them having you know, you could see
- 25:06Speaker 2: them going all defense and not taking a receiver in
- 25:08Speaker 2: the first couple of picks.
- 25:11Speaker 3: I think he's gone gone again, That's what I'm saying.
- 25:15Speaker 3: After Brofit said Hrst thing, I mean, that was that
- 25:19Speaker 3: question Ross isn't on. Okay, well, all right, First off,
- 25:23Speaker 3: Ross is a great job. Let's shout out Ross for
- 25:25Speaker 3: a second. Fasting the bills. He's so getting to work
- 25:27Speaker 3: with him on the lockdown side of stuff and also
- 25:29Speaker 3: losing a sports something that it is. He's just incredible.
- 25:33Speaker 3: He's an incredible hard worker. Yep, I love Ross.
- 25:36Speaker 2: All right. He's listening now, so you got to say
- 25:38Speaker 2: those nice things when he's on.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I will never say that to his face.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Okay, Ross, what's up? I don't know if you heard
- 25:43Speaker 2: any of that, but I was asking are you there
- 25:45Speaker 2: by the way.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm here out here. I think Marler was just
- 25:48Speaker 4: getting me back there for a second.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, I know he's he's he's the worst.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Blame Marler.
- 25:53Speaker 2: So I was asking you, dude. I found it interesting
- 25:57Speaker 2: how you're kind of kind of laid laid that out,
- 25:59Speaker 2: kind of going all defense. Early. We've kind of been
- 26:00Speaker 2: saying on the show, like you have to you have
- 26:02Speaker 2: to find a way to get a receiver in your
- 26:04Speaker 2: top two picks, whether it's an eight or if it's
- 26:06Speaker 2: at forty two. Now, the only person that we could
- 26:10Speaker 2: see making an argument for at eight from the receiver
- 26:13Speaker 2: standpoint is Jordan Tyson, who actually has the highest betting
- 26:16Speaker 2: nods to be the Saints pick at number eight, but
- 26:19Speaker 2: there's that injury risk. He's got the history of it.
- 26:23Speaker 2: But with if you're taking the stance of you got
- 26:25Speaker 2: to take a receiver in the top two, And Marlard
- 26:27Speaker 2: mentioned like Chris Bell at forty two, who has the
- 26:30Speaker 2: history with Tyler Shupp, but he's also got injury history
- 26:33Speaker 2: as well, Like you would have to take somebody if
- 26:35Speaker 2: if you're not going to take Jordan Tyson because of
- 26:37Speaker 2: a risk of injury at eight, you have to kind
- 26:39Speaker 2: of think the same thing at forty two with your
- 26:42Speaker 2: second pick. Do you not see them going that route
- 26:45Speaker 2: at a wide receiver at eight or forty two? Yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 2: I think you would have to.
- 26:49Speaker 3: You would.
- 26:50Speaker 4: You're absolutely right, Like you have to be okay with
- 26:52Speaker 4: that at one of those spots, and maybe you're more
- 26:54Speaker 4: okay with it in the second round, kind of like
- 26:56Speaker 4: how the things we're okay with Tyler Shuck's injury history
- 26:58Speaker 4: in the second round last year, and so maybe you're
- 27:01Speaker 4: just more okay with that risk in the second round
- 27:03Speaker 4: than you are in the first. I also do think
- 27:05Speaker 4: that there is something about the repeated injuries not repeated
- 27:08Speaker 4: because they weren't the same injury. But there was multiple
- 27:10Speaker 4: injuries throughout Jordan Pyson's career ACL MCL PCL in twenty
- 27:14Speaker 4: twenty two, which cost him the twenty twenty three season,
- 27:17Speaker 4: collar bone in twenty four, and then the hamstring in
- 27:19Speaker 4: twenty twenty five, whereas with Chris Bell, you're talking about
- 27:22Speaker 4: a single injury here with this ACL, right, And so
- 27:27Speaker 4: I think, and as you guys know really well, ACL
- 27:30Speaker 4: injuries now are not what they used to be, right,
- 27:32Speaker 4: Like that used to be a career threatening injury and
- 27:35Speaker 4: now it's like, all right, we'll see you in eight months,
- 27:36Speaker 4: which is insane. And so maybe you're just more comfortable
- 27:40Speaker 4: with that in the second round than you are in
- 27:41Speaker 4: the first, but it is still something that you have
- 27:43Speaker 4: to answer those questions about one way or another. Right,
- 27:47Speaker 4: is this player medically okay.
- 27:48Speaker 2: And ready to go?
- 27:50Speaker 3: How do you think that the fan base would react
- 27:53Speaker 3: to you guy a name that has like fallen on
- 27:55Speaker 3: draft boards. But as also you bring up the fact
- 27:57Speaker 3: you need a pass rush, and then you look at
- 27:58Speaker 3: the Zion young thing. I love Young. I don't know
- 28:01Speaker 3: if he's going to be there in forty two. I
- 28:02Speaker 3: feel like he's going to be taking the first thirty
- 28:03Speaker 3: five picks. How would you feel if they took ruben Bain.
- 28:08Speaker 4: I think I'm all about that too. I mean, look,
- 28:10Speaker 4: ruben Bain's got some of those questions. You just have
- 28:12Speaker 4: to be okay with the answers to those questions, right,
- 28:15Speaker 4: I think you know, you listen to what Mickey Lyombus
- 28:17Speaker 4: said yesterday, and they don't want to draft the guy
- 28:19Speaker 4: with a lot of questions. They want the short thing
- 28:21Speaker 4: all that. But just because the player has a lot
- 28:23Speaker 4: of questions doesn't mean that there aren't satisfactory.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Answers to those questions.
- 28:27Speaker 4: And so as long as you have those answers and
- 28:29Speaker 4: you feel like okay, heyy yeah. Historically short arms for
- 28:33Speaker 4: a first round and rusher, but you look at the
- 28:36Speaker 4: tape and you look at the play and can you
- 28:39Speaker 4: see those short arms creating any issues for the player?
- 28:43Speaker 4: Not a lot When it comes to ruben Bain Junior
- 28:45Speaker 4: right fifteen and a half backles for a loss last
- 28:47Speaker 4: year thirty thirty three plus over the course of his career,
- 28:50Speaker 4: nine and a half sacked last year twenty or more
- 28:53Speaker 4: than twenty over the course of his career, and so
- 28:56Speaker 4: if you can answer those questions and you feel good
- 28:57Speaker 4: about that as well as the course of twenty twenty
- 28:59Speaker 4: four fatal car accident followed by the citation in twenty
- 29:02Speaker 4: twenty five for the same offense, as long as you
- 29:05Speaker 4: can answer those questions, then you're fine. And so to me,
- 29:09Speaker 4: like that would have to be the biggest thing. But
- 29:11Speaker 4: I think investing in that defensive line and you know, look,
- 29:15Speaker 4: we've seen this thing do that a lot in the
- 29:16Speaker 4: first round over the course of their years with this
- 29:19Speaker 4: front office. I think that it would be something that
- 29:21Speaker 4: would at least make sense.
- 29:22Speaker 2: For Yeah, Ross, give me your thoughts on I know
- 29:25Speaker 2: Mickey spoke yesterday kind of give me just pull that
- 29:29Speaker 2: like summarize that. Put a little bow on just his messaging.
- 29:33Speaker 2: How comfortable you think he is going into this draft.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I mean, he seemed like they're very comfortable at eight.
- 29:38Speaker 2: He seemed like by talking that he's going to be
- 29:40Speaker 2: very risk averse. And I just don't I don't know
- 29:44Speaker 2: how they can really screw this pick up because there's
- 29:46Speaker 2: going to be some There's going to be and let's.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Say, like wea jin said Matt all right, relaxed, relax.
- 29:51Speaker 2: You can always do something, but they're going to have
- 29:54Speaker 2: an immediate impact guy in a long time starter, well
- 29:57Speaker 2: from what we think at least available at eight. But like, well,
- 30:00Speaker 2: how do you feel about after what Mickey after after
- 30:02Speaker 2: him talking yesterday?
- 30:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's hard to look at his presser
- 30:07Speaker 4: from yesterday and not walk away like, oh, Mickey's really
- 30:10Speaker 4: confident about what's going to happen in the ground of
- 30:13Speaker 4: the drought, and he was just kind of like he
- 30:17Speaker 4: had that bravado. He had that sort of confidence and
- 30:20Speaker 4: everything like that that we're kind of used to seeing
- 30:22Speaker 4: from him, and so I think that he is in
- 30:26Speaker 4: a really good he feels like they're in a really
- 30:28Speaker 4: good place at eight.
- 30:29Speaker 2: One of the other things.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Everything that you highlighted or are also things that I
- 30:33Speaker 4: would highlight as well. But one of the other things
- 30:34Speaker 4: that he mentioned was that his view of the team, Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 4: they had a really strong finish the season last year,
- 30:40Speaker 4: but the way that he kind of laid it out
- 30:42Speaker 4: was like, look, that was a five game stretch, six
- 30:43Speaker 4: game stretch.
- 30:44Speaker 3: They're not buying into that.
- 30:46Speaker 4: They do not consider themselves as a team that's one
- 30:49Speaker 4: player away. And I thought that it was really interesting
- 30:52Speaker 4: because you're seeing all the trade up rumors right now
- 30:54Speaker 4: that are there. One of the things that Mickey Limba
- 30:56Speaker 4: said outright yesterday is that because they're not one player
- 30:59Speaker 4: away like they used to be in the Drew Brees days,
- 31:02Speaker 4: that they're not in a place to where they're really
- 31:05Speaker 4: looking at it going up there and giving up a
- 31:07Speaker 4: bunch of assets in order to move up for one
- 31:09Speaker 4: player because they're not one player away. And so I
- 31:12Speaker 4: thought that was another interesting piece of insight. I do
- 31:15Speaker 4: think that it feels like they're very comfortable at eight.
- 31:17Speaker 4: I do think that it feels that they're going to
- 31:19Speaker 4: be able to get a very good player at a
- 31:20Speaker 4: I agree there's a lot of ways to not mess
- 31:23Speaker 4: this up, and so they like to me they're in
- 31:26Speaker 4: a really really good place going in here. I could
- 31:28Speaker 4: see them maybe getting more aggressive and trading up in
- 31:30Speaker 4: or out of day three, like up from day three,
- 31:33Speaker 4: but I don't. I think they're pretty comfortable with where
- 31:35Speaker 4: they are, at least within you. There's three selections in.
- 31:37Speaker 3: The top seventy five russnty. I view a scenario. Two scenarios, okay,
- 31:42Speaker 3: and you tell me which one you think is more
- 31:45Speaker 3: likely to happen. There are, there's only one quarterback taken
- 31:49Speaker 3: in the first round, or the Falcons do something inexplicably
- 31:54Speaker 3: stupid and get into the first round and make another
- 31:58Speaker 3: dumb pick like they tend to do.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good one.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be more likely that one quarterback
- 32:07Speaker 4: goes in the first round. But if number two becomes true,
- 32:12Speaker 4: maybe that means that number one doesn't become true.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Because what if the Atlanta Falcons.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Do something really stupid and trade up into the first
- 32:18Speaker 4: round and select the second quarterback.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be good. You know, honestly, I don't
- 32:23Speaker 3: know who they would if they went and got Carson
- 32:26Speaker 3: Beck and had Tua on the roster as well, that
- 32:28Speaker 3: is my personal hell, I think that would be awful.
- 32:33Speaker 4: They already have done with Michael Penick.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Michael, Yeah, all right, we appreciate your time, but I'm
- 32:39Speaker 2: gonna give you one last chance to make your final
- 32:42Speaker 2: pick lead it up to the draft, unless, of course,
- 32:44Speaker 2: you change it a little bit later today. But this
- 32:47Speaker 2: is your final answer to the Saints to take a
- 32:49Speaker 2: number eight tonight.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna change from where I've been
- 32:54Speaker 4: throughout the Yeah, right, Yeah, You're welcome, enjoy the click
- 33:02Speaker 4: the I think for me after Mickey's press conference yesterday,
- 33:06Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with Ohio state safety Caleb down. I
- 33:09Speaker 4: genuinely think that that is a player that checks every
- 33:11Speaker 4: single box that Mickey Limbits laid out over the course
- 33:14Speaker 4: of the thirty minutes that we spoke to him yesterday.
- 33:16Speaker 3: And so if he's on the board.
- 33:17Speaker 4: At number eight, I think he's going to be a
- 33:18Speaker 4: really tough player for them to pass up one.
- 33:20Speaker 2: There we go, Well, I think that would be a
- 33:22Speaker 2: hell of a pick.
- 33:24Speaker 3: And plus a thousand right now.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Plus one thousand, So hey, you want to make a
- 33:27Speaker 2: little money? Ross, Thank you so much, Locked on Saints
- 33:32Speaker 2: podcast and writer for louising A sports a dot net.
- 33:35Speaker 2: So Ross, we appreciate your time. How fun today. Write
- 33:38Speaker 2: in as many articles as you can and we appreciate
- 33:41Speaker 2: the time.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Thanks guys, I appreciate you. Hey, plus one thousands not
- 33:45Speaker 4: just crawfish money, that's cruffish love money. Sorry, thanks having one.
- 33:53Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, we'll get into the crawfish glove situation.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Left glove when we come back, live life glove that
- 34:00Speaker 2: print them on the shirts people we went fay Ross
- 34:02Speaker 2: right there for coming on the show. So let's go
- 34:05Speaker 2: to break. We'll come back and talk crawfish gloves right
- 34:07Speaker 2: here on. Off the match, off the bench, all right,
- 34:13Speaker 2: go to central Plumbing dot org. Central Plumbing dot org

- 34:25Speaker 2: nothing that you can throw at them that they hadn't
- 34:28Speaker 2: seen before. Whether it's I don't know, cloud toilet, whether
- 34:32Speaker 2: it's you just pipe first in the middle of the
- 34:34Speaker 2: night for no reason, it doesn't really matter. They are there,

- 34:45Speaker 2: greater Baton Rouge area. But one of the most like
- 34:47Speaker 2: convenient thing that they do and the like the biggest
- 34:51Speaker 2: peace of mind that they have is at twenty four
- 34:53Speaker 2: to seven emergency service called two two five two three
- 34:57Speaker 2: zero nine nine five seven. If there's ever an emergency,
- 34:59Speaker 2: does a matter when it is middle of the night,
- 35:02Speaker 2: middle of the first round of the draft, It doesn't

- 35:17Speaker 1: You locked in on LSU football twenty four to seven.
- 35:28Speaker 1: You're listening to Off the Bench.
- 35:33Speaker 2: All right, welcome back into Off the Bitch. Thursday morning, Thursday,
- 35:37Speaker 2: Thursday Thursday. It is Draft Day.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Great movie.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Hey is in the barn, the picks are about to
- 35:43Speaker 2: be in. Yeah, Roger Goodell's about to get booted. He's
- 35:47Speaker 2: the worst part of the whole, do you know what?
- 35:48Speaker 3: You know what my least certain part about the draft
- 35:50Speaker 3: is is Roger makes the jokes to the like he'll
- 35:54Speaker 3: go out there and everyone with Booby. He's like, come on,
- 35:56Speaker 3: oh you guys, that all you got?
- 35:57Speaker 2: He is. He's like it, it's just called being self aware. Marler.
- 36:01Speaker 3: No, he's like if AI create, like if like a
- 36:04Speaker 3: Belk mannequin came to life and was AI like Chad
- 36:08Speaker 3: to like just like to talk with like that, like
- 36:10Speaker 3: him talking trash back and forth. The fans really bad. Also,
- 36:12Speaker 3: what I hate is when ESPN does their their the
- 36:16Speaker 3: part where they're like, hey, this is this kid's biggest moment.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Let's tell you his backstory. Yeah, and the backstory is
- 36:21Speaker 3: like something horrific.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Sure, like you know, story, something horrific.
- 36:26Speaker 3: He was abandoned in the show Neees and he lived
- 36:28Speaker 3: off ketchup packets for two years. And you're like, what,
- 36:31Speaker 3: He's a great receiver here at four to three, right, Like,
- 36:34Speaker 3: but the ketchup packets.
- 36:35Speaker 2: But the ketchup well, I mean doesn't Kelly makes you stronger.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Kelly Parks has said.
- 36:40Speaker 3: That, God, it's a great, great line.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Thank you. Do you know how much Roger Goodell gets paid.
- 36:44Speaker 3: I believe he makes over hold on, isn't it something
- 36:48Speaker 3: pretty green? It's like twenty or thirty million? Uh?
- 36:51Speaker 2: It used to be forty Yeah, it's sixty four million now.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I was actually shot that just like that, because that
- 37:00Speaker 2: was like when I was playing, it was like that
- 37:01Speaker 2: was the thing. Like roder Godell makes forty million.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Dollars a year, that's insane.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Info Commission Roderck Goodell earns approximately sixty four million, anywhere
- 37:09Speaker 2: between that and sixty three point nine million per year.
- 37:13Speaker 2: The compensation is highly incentive driven and largely driven from
- 37:16Speaker 2: bonuses haven't earned nearly one hundred and twenty eight million
- 37:19Speaker 2: number two year period. Oh my god, that wasn't twenty
- 37:21Speaker 2: nineteen and twenty one when this yeah, just kind of
- 37:24Speaker 2: like it said r yeah during COVID.
- 37:27Speaker 3: All right, goodness, I don't like Roder Goodell for a
- 37:29Speaker 3: number of reasons. But I don't I don't.
- 37:31Speaker 2: You don't like him anymore? Even more because of that.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Yeah, this is this is kind of like heighten the hate.
- 37:35Speaker 3: I think he's just not like I don't, I don't
- 37:38Speaker 3: love the way he's handled some stuff. And then like
- 37:40Speaker 3: like like okay, you know what we're on there, we'll
- 37:42Speaker 3: say it. Calvin Ridley is a this is like off
- 37:45Speaker 3: the top of the head. He got to spend it
- 37:46Speaker 3: for a full year because he was betting fifteen hundred
- 37:48Speaker 3: dollars in games like a like like you get a
- 37:51Speaker 3: parlay or something for in the Jameson Williams the other
- 37:53Speaker 3: guy soon trying to.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Kind of protect the shield on the betting stuff.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Sure, you also have your highest your your highest overall
- 38:00Speaker 3: I think besides alcohol sales in terms of like marketing,
- 38:04Speaker 3: dollars that you're spending are on gambling related things. Sure,
- 38:08Speaker 3: my biggest issue is if we're doing that, and I
- 38:10Speaker 3: know this is dating myself, but then we're also having
- 38:14Speaker 3: the video of certain things like the Ray Rice thing,
- 38:17Speaker 3: and we have access to it, and he is the
- 38:19Speaker 3: only one that has access to it and knows that
- 38:21Speaker 3: he has it and then chooses to suspend him for
- 38:23Speaker 3: two games.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I don't like.
- 38:24Speaker 3: I just I will never get over that.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a little there's some hypocrisy certainly out in there,
- 38:30Speaker 2: but like the gambling thing, like there's I think everybody
- 38:33Speaker 2: can get behind, Like you can't gamble on your sports now.
- 38:36Speaker 2: If you want to make the argument like kind of
- 38:39Speaker 2: football player should he be able to like go and
- 38:41Speaker 2: gamble on baseball or prop bet like whatever, Like, you
- 38:45Speaker 2: can make that argument, but I think it's a slippery
- 38:47Speaker 2: slope when you start talking about the gambling. But like, yeah,
- 38:49Speaker 2: the ray ricing, like not everything's on the up and
- 38:52Speaker 2: up right with the NFL, shockingly, but you know what,
- 38:56Speaker 2: it's in a healthy place and I'm glad we do
- 38:58Speaker 2: have it, and you do have to have somebody in
- 39:00Speaker 2: that position, and whoever that somebody is, they're gonna not
- 39:03Speaker 2: be liked no matter what. Really does bother me about
- 39:07Speaker 2: the draft though, in the first round is the big
- 39:09Speaker 2: bro hug that he gets from every play.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Is he a good hugger?
- 39:15Speaker 2: Apparently? Apparently, like these dudes cannot wait to get their
- 39:19Speaker 2: mits around Roger Goodell, and they do. Every single one
- 39:23Speaker 2: of them does it because, like you, once they become
- 39:26Speaker 2: part of the NFL Players Association, it's like kind of
- 39:28Speaker 2: the PA versus the NFL. Like it's not like your buddy,
- 39:32Speaker 2: I guess, because he's fighting what's best for the shield.
- 39:35Speaker 2: You're fighting us best for players in yourself. And they
- 39:39Speaker 2: don't always agree with each other. I just don't like
- 39:40Speaker 2: the big bro hug when they go right now, I mean, don't.
- 39:45Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 39:46Speaker 3: So let's seek like a Ruben Bainne hug. Just's pretty good.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I don't know what that was. Those are two elbows
- 39:55Speaker 2: sticking out. Okay, guess what Landra was really yelling at
- 39:58Speaker 2: us a big time a second ago about clockmaan managment
- 40:01Speaker 2: and hand in the air. Not my fault, Marler's fault.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Hand up, Marler, I don't remember. He had his hand
- 40:06Speaker 2: up for three hours at SEC media days last year,
- 40:09Speaker 2: trying to get a question into every single head coach,
- 40:12Speaker 2: every person that took the mic hand up immediately so
- 40:14Speaker 2: you can get in line to ask those very important questions.
- 40:18Speaker 2: So we appreciate your service. So somebody's got it. Somebody's
- 40:20Speaker 2: got to do it.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Somebody's got to do it.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Somebody's got to do it. We will. We're gonna go
- 40:24Speaker 2: break and try to get back on track a little bit,
- 40:27Speaker 2: even though we're still late. We're gonna try to get back.
- 40:29Speaker 2: But again, a lot of squirrels out here. Today. We
- 40:31Speaker 2: were at the LSU Parade grounds and we were on

- 41:49Speaker 2: you have it, like if you if you have pictures
- 41:51Speaker 2: and you know exactly what you want, great, But maybe
- 41:53Speaker 2: you just don't. Maybe you got to talk with them,

- 42:33Speaker 2: All right, welcome back here off the bench. Closing out
- 42:35Speaker 2: our number two. I want to thank Ross Jackson for
- 42:37Speaker 2: stopping by joining in the show a couple of minutes
- 42:41Speaker 2: ago giving us his final thoughts. Who do you say,
- 42:44Speaker 2: Caleb Downs? Caleb Down was finally I like that a lot.
- 42:47Speaker 2: He's a great player. Do you think if Caleb Downs
- 42:49Speaker 2: were to get drafted by the Saints his first crawfish
- 42:54Speaker 2: bull do you think he's putting gloves on?
- 42:55Speaker 3: It depends on if he's in the comfort of his
- 42:57Speaker 3: own home with this on. Say who is also wearing gloves?
- 43:03Speaker 3: And maybe they have some cuts on their hands because
- 43:05Speaker 3: they've been doing interior design.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I made up on your hands.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Sometimes you get a little.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Okay, So people. You know, there's you started quite an uproar. Yeah,
- 43:16Speaker 2: because you said, did you put rubber gloves on your
- 43:19Speaker 2: hands and eat crawfish?
- 43:20Speaker 3: I had some drinks and I told Matt Moscone. I
- 43:22Speaker 3: opened the sentence by saying you're wrong, which is never
- 43:26Speaker 3: a way to start a conversation with Matt. And and
- 43:30Speaker 3: then I followed that up with it's it's way better
- 43:34Speaker 3: to wear gloves swell eating crawfish. It's such an easy cleanup.
- 43:38Speaker 3: And then I was told you should leave this state
- 43:41Speaker 3: and so, and I haven't yet because I don't know.
- 43:43Speaker 2: We're still here.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's all the house will be tough. I don't
- 43:45Speaker 3: know in this economy, in this economy, come on.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so is it every time you eat cool?
- 43:56Speaker 3: And also it's in the I'm not going to do
- 43:57Speaker 3: it in public, right, It's a lot of stuff you
- 44:00Speaker 3: do in the privacy of your own home. Crawfish. I
- 44:04Speaker 3: don't like that response.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Do you even like crawfish?
- 44:07Speaker 3: I love crawfish. I love crawfish.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Okay, so, but I mean it's a fair question. Caleb
- 44:12Speaker 2: Down's glove guy.
- 44:15Speaker 3: He seems a lot, he seems got more, He's got
- 44:17Speaker 3: tougher hands than me.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Did you get called out yesterday, Michael Bonnett.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Oh man, not about the craffice gloves.
- 44:24Speaker 2: That was that was about the crawfish gloves. Yeah, you
- 44:26Speaker 2: get you get in arguments with people on social media.
- 44:30Speaker 3: So what sucks is it? I just always I just
- 44:32Speaker 3: always assumed Bonnet didn't know who I was, sure, and
- 44:35Speaker 3: he scares me because he yelled at me one time.
- 44:37Speaker 3: It was my fault because I was filming and I
- 44:38Speaker 3: wasn't supposed to be and and so then I was like, well,
- 44:41Speaker 3: he probably just doesn't I mean, I'm just there.
- 44:44Speaker 2: He just doesn't know me. Yeah, he yelled at me
