- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to KFI AM 640, the Bill Handel Show
- 0:04Speaker 1: on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Good Friday morning to you. Did you hear that bumping
- 0:12Speaker 2: music on Wake Up Call?
- 0:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:15Speaker 2: They're all dancing in the halls because it's Friday. Or
- 0:21Speaker 2: as we like to say, Fri-yay. I don't know why I'm. Well,
- 0:29Speaker 2: I just turned into Adventure Time right there. You ever
- 0:38Speaker 2: watch Adventure Time?
- 0:39Speaker 4: Not Adventure Time.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Making bacon pancakes.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Making bacon pancakes.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Actually, I met the regular show. Oh, regular show. Come
- 0:46Speaker 2: on now.
- 0:46Speaker 4: I like that one even better.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 2: No idea what you're talking about. It's an incredibly wonderful cartoon.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Oh.
- 0:57Speaker 2: And something I share with my son all the time.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I think it's on Disney Plus and HBO Max.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Give it a watch, Will.
- 1:03Speaker 2: All right, guys. Let's get over here.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Hey, Skips.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh, I love everything about it. Yeah, Skips is Mark Hamill. Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I didn't even know that for a long time. He
- 1:15Speaker 2: does a lot of voice work.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: He does the Joker. Prolific voice actor.
- 1:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But hilarious. It's just about a bird and a raccoon
- 1:28Speaker 2: living together in a room at a park, not wanting
- 1:31Speaker 2: to work.
- 1:32Speaker 4: And they're bad employees.
- 1:34Speaker 2: They're horrible.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:35Speaker 2: But man, there's some mystic crap that goes on in
- 1:38Speaker 2: that little land.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Good show.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:40Speaker 4: All right. Good show. Jolly good show.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Jolly good show. All right. Nobody knows what we're talking about,
- 1:47Speaker 2: but that's okay. That's okay.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Amy King.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Hello.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Hey, I'm just wondering, you know, Anna and I were
- 1:55Speaker 2: just talking. It's been hot and why you've never invited
- 1:58Speaker 2: us to your pool. I know, right?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 2: When did that happen? When did you get a pool?
- 2:03Speaker 5: Well, Amazon says I likely have a pool.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So, you know, we're prepping the show and all of that.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So where do you look to see what Amazon knows
- 2:12Speaker 2: about you?
- 2:13Speaker 5: OK, it's very freaky. So you go to Amazon.com and
- 2:17Speaker 5: then you click on your profile.
- 2:18Speaker 2: OK.
- 2:19Speaker 5: And it says about you. And so you click on
- 2:23Speaker 5: that and it. Knows stuff about you. You know what?
- 2:27Speaker 2: We'll do that later on in the show. We'll learn
- 2:29Speaker 2: a little bit about each other and I'll take a
- 2:30Speaker 2: shot at it. So I'm not going to do it
- 2:32Speaker 2: right now. I know you've already done that. But later
- 2:34Speaker 2: in the program, maybe in the 8 o'clock hour, we'll
- 2:37Speaker 2: all check our profile. Mine's going to say, due to
- 2:41Speaker 2: our research, you're broke.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah. I'm surprised mine doesn't say that, too.
- 2:46Speaker 2: You have no.
- 2:49Speaker 5: She's still buying stuff on Amazon and going into debt.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. If she's going to have to return half
- 2:56Speaker 2: of this enabled, there's just so much that comes our way.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Yeah. So the interesting thing is that that we were
- 3:04Speaker 5: finding out, though, is it's not just watching what you
- 3:08Speaker 5: buy on Amazon. It's also kind of branching out and
- 3:12Speaker 5: checking you out in other places, too.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah, having one child, our nine-year-old, I thought, you know what?
- 3:24Speaker 2: I came from a family of seven. There's still seven
- 3:27Speaker 2: of us. And I thought my younger brother and I
- 3:34Speaker 2: have been known to butt heads, fists, knees, whatever. And
- 3:44Speaker 2: so I thought he's not going to fight with anyone.
- 3:47Speaker 2: He fights with Alexa all the time. They're constantly screaming
- 3:50Speaker 2: at each other and he's like, and then he gets
- 3:52Speaker 2: her to do, what did he have? He'd go, guess what?
- 4:00Speaker 2: And she'd go chicken butt. And then he taught her
- 4:04Speaker 2: to do that. And then he makes her do it
- 4:07Speaker 2: as fast as she can. So she's going chicken butt.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And I come in there and I'm like, you're going
- 4:10Speaker 2: to break her. Why are you trying to break her?
- 4:18Speaker 2: And he sees how many times she can.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Anyways.
- 4:22Speaker 2: All right. Good morning, Amy. Nice to see you.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Nice to see you, as always. Did you also hear
- 4:30Speaker 5: about the Bigfoot Festival this weekend?
- 4:34Speaker 2: No. Where is it?
- 4:36Speaker 5: I believe it's in Lake Arrowhead.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Okay. So not that far. It's up in the mountains.
- 4:41Speaker 2: What are they doing? I want to go.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Well.
- 4:42Speaker 5: It's going to be raining.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's going to be raining. Oh, is it Saturday or Sunday?
- 4:47Speaker 5: I believe it. I don't know if it's Saturday and
- 4:49Speaker 5: Sunday or Saturday or Sunday, but there's adult beverages, probably
- 4:54Speaker 5: costume contests. I don't know what kind of entertainment you
- 4:59Speaker 5: have at a Bigfoot festival, but I can look into it.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I love those people. I love them. And we love
- 5:07Speaker 2: the Bigfoot. I love the Bigfoot. We're always looking for
- 5:09Speaker 2: Bigfoot paraphernalia. And making stuff. My wife's making stuff all
- 5:15Speaker 2: the time. She found this big toe of a Bigfoot somewhere.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It's like a.
- 5:20Speaker 5: A real toe?
- 5:21Speaker 2: No, it's not a real... But you want something freaky?
- 5:26Speaker 2: I'm not going to go through all this, but you
- 5:27Speaker 2: want something freaky? Search Google. This is going to be
- 5:31Speaker 2: great in your little dossier. Search Jimmy Stewart and Bigfoot's hand.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Craziest story ever in the whole wide world. Search that. Will,
- 5:48Speaker 2: how are you, sir?
- 5:51Speaker 5: Good, Neil.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Just checking out.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Highways in the byways.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I was getting a mark. There's a barbecue. Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 6:00Speaker 2: No, I'm good. Thank you. Something's going on in Hollywood. Hey,
- 6:05Speaker 2: the grapevine's open. It was closed yesterday. There's problems in
- 6:08Speaker 2: slow Rona, but, you know. Uh, yeah, that's, uh, I
- 6:14Speaker 2: heard about that. You're having problems and then we're going
- 6:16Speaker 2: to get some rain. Oh yeah. And then that's going to,
- 6:19Speaker 2: that's always a problem. It's going to make Monday fun. Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Challenge.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Not for me. I had to work from home on Monday.
- 6:25Speaker 1: What?
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yay. A crazy new clay. How are you, sir?
- 6:30Speaker 3: I'm doing great, Neil. Uh, today is my last day
- 6:33Speaker 3: training on this show. So next week I'm moving over to.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Monks and Merrill.
- 6:37Speaker 3: So listen, listen to monks and Merrill for more new clay. Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 5: He's good at that self-promotion.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Coming soon.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Coming soon to Monks and Merrill.
- 6:49Speaker 2: That should be fun. As if they're not crazy enough. Oh,
- 6:53Speaker 2: he's more crazy.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And last but never least, Anne, how are you? Oh, baby.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Mi Corazon, the heart of this program. Well, that's a
- 7:08Speaker 2: little bit more like the bride at Haunted Mansion. Is
- 7:14Speaker 2: that an accent? All right, let's get started. Amy King
- 7:18Speaker 2: and me, your friend Neil Saavedra, handle on the news
- 7:21Speaker 2: a lead story.
- 7:22Speaker 4: All I want.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Is to have my peace of mind.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Donald Trump.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Apparently he's our president. He said Washington will not strike
- 7:36Speaker 2: Iran ahead of the U.S. midterm elections as the Islamic
- 7:41Speaker 2: Republic steps up, attacks on commercial ships trying to move
- 7:46Speaker 2: back and forth in the Strait of Hormuz. Gosh, talk
- 7:50Speaker 2: about politics. Oh, we want to hit you. Oh, I
- 7:54Speaker 2: want to hit you real bad. But we got this
- 7:56Speaker 2: thing called the midterms, and it's a little rocky right now.
- 7:58Speaker 2: We're trying not to lose a lot of Strength and
- 8:02Speaker 2: the like. So we'll let you do what you're going
- 8:05Speaker 2: to do. So Trump's war on Iran. Who wrote this?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Trump's war on Iran. FT.com. What is that? What's FT.com?
- 8:18Speaker 2: F Trump? Is that what it is? No. I don't know. FT.com.
- 8:24Speaker 2: It's just the editorializing there. Having created a global energy
- 8:30Speaker 2: crisis and triggered an inflation shock. This is not imbalanced
- 8:35Speaker 2: at all. That is hitting American voters' ability to afford
- 8:38Speaker 2: everyday products and services.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Financial Times.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It's what? Financial Times? No, it's F Trump. So he
- 8:47Speaker 2: says he's not going to attack Iran at any time
- 8:51Speaker 2: prior to the midterm elections. So we can wait till afterwards.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Handel's going to watch this, I'm sure. Fort Hood shooter
- 9:02Speaker 5: Nadel Hassan is going to be executed December 3rd. And
- 9:08Speaker 5: apparently it's going to be live streamed. It's the first
- 9:10Speaker 5: military execution in more than 65 years. It's going to
- 9:14Speaker 5: happen at Fort Hood. Now, Hassan was convicted of killing
- 9:18Speaker 5: 13 people at Fort Hood.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah, bye.
- 9:20Speaker 5: And injuring 32 others in 2009. Remember when that all
- 9:24Speaker 5: happened and they're, They called it a workplace incident.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, which isn't wrong, but it ain't the whole story either. Yes,
- 9:37Speaker 2: I do remember that and how annoying it was.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Is this pay-per-view or what? Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Let's get ready to rifle.
- 9:45Speaker 5: It's going to be public.
- 9:47Speaker 2: And then they go, in this corner, we have 12
- 9:50Speaker 2: handsome military men carrying rifles. Well, good riddance. My last
- 9:57Speaker 2: day with you flying solo with the game. Handel will
- 10:01Speaker 2: be back. Actually, Handel will be back on the air
- 10:03Speaker 2: tomorrow for Handel on the Law and then back with
- 10:06Speaker 2: us on Monday. I talked with him yesterday. Anybody want
- 10:11Speaker 2: to take a guess? Two seconds into the conversation, what
- 10:14Speaker 2: we were talking about?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Anyone?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Bueller?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
- 10:19Speaker 2: He brought up Trump.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Oh, are you serious?
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'm like, dude, you just got back from vacation. He's like,
- 10:29Speaker 2: did you hear about what Trump said? And I'm like, well,
- 10:30Speaker 2: I've been kind of doing the show for a couple
- 10:32Speaker 2: of weeks. Pretty nose to the grindstone. If I miss anything,
- 10:37Speaker 2: Ann's got it right there for me. We're working together.
- 10:40Speaker 2: That's what we do. But oh boy, he's going to
- 10:46Speaker 2: come back. All right. Back to a handle on the
- 10:50Speaker 2: news with me, your old pal, Neil Saavedra, and your
- 10:54Speaker 2: other pal, Amy King. Yeah. Oh, it's me.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Yep.
- 10:59Speaker 2: But I still want to introduce you.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Oh, thanks.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I believe in you. I need you.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Somebody needs to.
- 11:07Speaker 2: We're being nice just in case you do have a pool.
- 11:10Speaker 2: All right. The city of Los Angeles shelled out nearly
- 11:13Speaker 2: 480 million dollars. God, we spend money on nothing, don't we?
- 11:18Speaker 2: Over the last five and a half years to end
- 11:20Speaker 2: legal disputes involving the LAPD. And this is according to
- 11:24Speaker 2: the L.A. Times. You know, critics say all these costs
- 11:32Speaker 2: that keep going up and up and up are depriving
- 11:34Speaker 2: the city of money and pressing needs such as fixing
- 11:37Speaker 2: roads and sidewalks. Some of these are absolutely political, stupid,
- 11:43Speaker 2: and it's very simple. If there's a bad cop, fire them.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Get rid of them. If there is, I think it's
- 11:52Speaker 2: the FBI that does regular lie detector tests. They do
- 11:56Speaker 2: the polygraph test. And I don't think you should trust
- 12:01Speaker 2: the old, you know, ask the partner. I think there
- 12:05Speaker 2: is a lot of pressure on not tattletailing and not
- 12:08Speaker 2: being as get rid of that. Wire them up, sit
- 12:12Speaker 2: them down and said, have you seen any crimes done
- 12:14Speaker 2: by your partner or any other law enforcement? Whatever you
- 12:18Speaker 2: have to do, we need to clean systematic racism out
- 12:21Speaker 2: of there. We need to clean any of the bad
- 12:23Speaker 2: people because there's a lot of good men and women
- 12:27Speaker 2: that are out there and they keep getting dragged into
- 12:30Speaker 2: all this garbage with what I'm going to say is
- 12:34Speaker 2: probably 10 percent or less, probably less than in society.
- 12:39Speaker 2: What are you doing? Oh, I thought you were kissing
- 12:42Speaker 2: the stories for the next. I'm like, oh, do you
- 12:45Speaker 2: bless them?
- 12:46Speaker 4: I'm blowing on the ink.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I was like, wow, we're going to have a great show, everybody.
- 12:54Speaker 2: So I just wish we could get our hands on this.
- 12:57Speaker 2: We give out so much damn money and then don't
- 13:00Speaker 2: know where billions go. And then we get taxed again.
- 13:03Speaker 5: You know, Tony Orlando is playing in my head nonstop.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Where's Don?
- 13:09Speaker 5: With this story.
- 13:10Speaker 2: What? Where's Don?
- 13:11Speaker 5: Well, and Dawn. They're there, too. Finally home. After more
- 13:16Speaker 5: than 10 months at sea, thousands of sailors have poured
- 13:20Speaker 5: off the USS Abraham Lincoln in San Diego to thunderous cheers,
- 13:26Speaker 5: streaming tears, and emotional hugs. Even some new dads who
- 13:30Speaker 5: met their babies for the first time, the sailors and Marines,
- 13:33Speaker 5: had been deployed in support of Operation Epic Fury. They
- 13:39Speaker 5: were in the Middle East. And, of course— I know, right?
- 13:44Speaker 5: And I got to tell you, one of the coolest things,
- 13:46Speaker 5: seeing a carrier come back, is all of the sailors
- 13:50Speaker 5: in their dress whites lining the deck. Oh, yeah. It's
- 13:53Speaker 5: so cool to see them show up. Just amazing.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Uniforms are, symbolism is strong with me. I think symbolism,
- 14:01Speaker 2: you know, from a wedding ring to the flag to
- 14:03Speaker 2: whatever is powerful. When you see men and women in uniform...
- 14:08Speaker 2: and know what they're giving up to do what they're
- 14:10Speaker 2: doing is always powerful to me.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Absolutely. So we had new babies that they hadn't met
- 14:15Speaker 5: yet there. And I saw a couple of proposals, a
- 14:17Speaker 5: couple of settlers got down on one knee. It was
- 14:20Speaker 5: very sweet.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Are you sure they weren't just tired? Could you imagine
- 14:24Speaker 2: if one was just like, oh, my knees from standing
- 14:27Speaker 2: in the uniform.
- 14:27Speaker 5: And his girlfriend's like, oh, he's proposing. And he goes, no,
- 14:30Speaker 5: I just need a break.
- 14:31Speaker 2: He's like, oh, I was resting.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a sucker for that. I still stop at
- 14:37Speaker 2: Disneyland when they lower the flag around five something or whatever.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I still have a hard time not tearing up during
- 14:45Speaker 2: the national anthem or seeing service members current and past
- 14:53Speaker 2: salute the flag.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Oh, and, you know, they do an honor to military members.
- 14:58Speaker 5: It's like the military member of the game at Dodger
- 15:00Speaker 5: games every every home game.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 5: I tear up every time.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Always.
- 15:05Speaker 5: It's so great. They're amazing people.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, none of this is worth anything unless
- 15:11Speaker 2: you're going to defend it. And having something worth fighting
- 15:17Speaker 2: for is a powerful thing. All right. Instagram is sorry.
- 15:22Speaker 2: It gave users too much creed. I.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I'm like, the band? Yes, the band. So going through this,
- 15:39Speaker 2: you're going to be like, the band? Just no. Yes,
- 15:42Speaker 2: the band. At first, when I had read it, I
- 15:44Speaker 2: was like, what? You know, like your religion, your belief system,
- 15:48Speaker 2: your creed. Okay. Creed is, to most people, apparently a
- 15:53Speaker 2: band that represents a particular moment. You know, the turn
- 15:55Speaker 2: of the millennium. It was one of the biggest musical
- 15:59Speaker 2: acts in the world. 1999. Anthem higher. Many people found
- 16:11Speaker 2: out later was mostly about Jesus. And it was all
- 16:16Speaker 2: over the place. And people could not get away from it.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Lately on Instagram, Hire has been linked to all kinds
- 16:24Speaker 2: of other moments used around the internet. So they've noticed
- 16:27Speaker 2: on social media platforms keep suggesting it, if not insisting
- 16:32Speaker 2: that Creed would be the perfect soundtrack for whatever they post.
- 16:36Speaker 2: So I make my own videos or posts or things
- 16:39Speaker 2: like that on Instagram. You could join me there, by
- 16:42Speaker 2: the way, if you wish. at Fork Reporter, at Fork Reporter.
- 16:46Speaker 2: My art and making stuff is not there. My art
- 16:50Speaker 2: and making stuff is at Savco Industries, S-A-A-V-C-O Industries. All artists, welcome.
- 16:59Speaker 2: And so they do sometimes force songs on you. Like,
- 17:03Speaker 2: this is the most power. This is what would go
- 17:04Speaker 2: really good with you. And I'm like, no, no, because
- 17:06Speaker 2: I like the obscure stuff. I'm looking for cramps. I'm
- 17:09Speaker 2: looking for the cramps. And it's like, you know, Miley Cyrus.
- 17:14Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, no, thank you. So I guess
- 17:17Speaker 2: nobody can prove it, but they believe there is a
- 17:21Speaker 2: conspiracy theory that Creed is paying Meta to suggest their
- 17:25Speaker 2: song higher on everything. But there are some that get popular,
- 17:29Speaker 2: especially ones that like if someone gets hit in the
- 17:32Speaker 2: face or they fall or whatever, there are some that
- 17:36Speaker 2: get used over and over and over. And so I
- 17:40Speaker 2: get those, but higher, why is that?
- 17:44Speaker 3: Can you take me higher?
- 17:48Speaker 2: I think more. Can you give me fiber is what
- 17:52Speaker 2: I when you sing like that sounded like.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 2: You think I'm backed up?
- 17:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Can you give me fiber?
- 18:01Speaker 4: Two things can be true.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 2: At the same time.
- 18:04Speaker 5: More controversy for the Kennedy Center. It plans to name
- 18:08Speaker 5: a longtime talent manager who has worked with several prominent
- 18:11Speaker 5: rock stars in the 80s and 90s. to become the
- 18:15Speaker 5: artistic programming director at Washington's premier performing arts center. His
- 18:19Speaker 5: name's Rick Canney. He has been working as an outside consultant,
- 18:24Speaker 5: but now will be elevated to an executive artistic director position.
- 18:29Speaker 5: The Kennedy Center, of course, mired in recent months in
- 18:31Speaker 5: a court fight over its renovations and also the controversy
- 18:35Speaker 5: over whether Donald Trump can have his name put on
- 18:38Speaker 5: the building, which the courts say no. Multiple sources inside
- 18:41Speaker 5: and outside the Kennedy Center say this is a bad
- 18:44Speaker 5: decision because Kenny does not have traditional artistic pedigree in
- 18:51Speaker 5: the genres for which the center is known. And they
- 18:54Speaker 5: question which direction he will take the Kennedy Center.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I understand that, but I also get annoyed by that
- 19:04Speaker 2: because when you start judging art, it's like, who are you? Hmm.
- 19:09Speaker 2: You know, Banksy is in museums. And who gets to
- 19:16Speaker 2: decide if that was art or not? I love his work,
- 19:20Speaker 2: but I get annoyed when people start doing that. President
- 19:28Speaker 2: Donald Trump and his administration announced just yesterday that It
- 19:32Speaker 2: was suspending Microsoft and several other firms from a program
- 19:37Speaker 2: allowing foreign workers to apply for green cards. It also
- 19:41Speaker 2: lashed out at certain universities that bring international students to
- 19:45Speaker 2: the U.S. on exchange programs. This announcement came from the VIP.
- 19:52Speaker 2: So J.D. Vance was part of this in the latest
- 19:56Speaker 2: swing from the Trump administration on employers and universities. But
- 20:03Speaker 2: here's the hypocrisy that bothers me about things like this.
- 20:08Speaker 2: You can't say– We can't have dregs or the poor
- 20:14Speaker 2: or whatever label he wants to put on them coming
- 20:18Speaker 2: into the United States. We want the best of the best.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I'm fairly sure that Microsoft and universities aren't looking for
- 20:28Speaker 2: people without some skills and abilities, right? So if this
- 20:32Speaker 2: is what you want, then why would you cut off
- 20:35Speaker 2: some of the best of the best you'd assume that's
- 20:37Speaker 2: going to university or going into Microsoft? To get green
- 20:41Speaker 2: cards and be a part of the American dream. There's
- 20:47Speaker 2: a disconnect on the good people, and that could be
- 20:52Speaker 2: somebody who's just a family man. I don't have a
- 20:55Speaker 2: problem with that. But there's got to be some sort
- 20:58Speaker 2: of good neighbor policy for these things. Otherwise, it is
- 21:02Speaker 2: just you're brown. Bye. Which seems asinine to me.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Another ICE shooting. This one happened in New York City.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Federal immigration officers opened fire on a man from the
- 21:20Speaker 5: Dominican Republic who they were trying to arrest.
- 21:23Speaker 2: And his child, huh? Or there was a child?
- 21:26Speaker 5: DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen says at DHS that they
- 21:30Speaker 5: did not know there was a child in the backseat.
- 21:32Speaker 5: They say that the 28-year-old man, identified as Oscar Belgal,
- 21:38Speaker 5: was shot in the neck and They say that he
- 21:40Speaker 5: knew the kid was in the back of the car
- 21:42Speaker 5: and still made the decision to try to flee.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, there's the rub, right? Is that ultimately.
- 21:54Speaker 5: Well, and there was some. Mom, Donnie came out last night.
- 21:57Speaker 5: The New York City mayor came out and said that
- 22:00Speaker 5: it was an unconscionable, incredibly serious situation. Agents surrounded the
- 22:07Speaker 5: car and the five-year-old choice. child before firing multiple rounds
- 22:12Speaker 5: um but ice had issued a detainer that he runs
- 22:16Speaker 5: with a gang and so it's not like he was
- 22:22Speaker 5: not the target they say that he was the target
- 22:24Speaker 5: of this.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Investigation so yeah there's nothing at this point there's nothing
- 22:31Speaker 2: they can do right there's nothing you know there's no
- 22:34Speaker 2: one's ever going to go oh this was a good
- 22:35Speaker 2: clean it's everybody split down Party sides, party lines, rather.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Number 10.
- 22:42Speaker 5: OK, some very opportunistic bad guys have been busted. Large
- 22:47Speaker 5: scale federal crackdown on drug dealers around Skid Row has
- 22:52Speaker 5: been carried out. More than 20 people were arrested early yesterday.
- 22:57Speaker 5: The LAPD teamed up with the FBI and DEA to
- 23:01Speaker 5: carry out the raid that not only happened on Skid Row,
- 23:05Speaker 5: But also search warrants were served in Pasadena, West Covina,
- 23:09Speaker 5: Simi Valley, Paramount, Gardena and Hellendale in San Bernardino County.
- 23:15Speaker 5: So they're saying they're going after the guys who are dealing.
- 23:20Speaker 5: And these guys are particularly bad because they sell to
- 23:25Speaker 5: the people on Skid Row. And they know where they are.
- 23:28Speaker 5: They know when they get their benefits and when to
- 23:31Speaker 5: go after them to sell the drugs to them. And
- 23:34Speaker 5: Mayor Bass came out and she said, we've got to
- 23:35Speaker 5: be clear about what the operation is about. It's about
- 23:39Speaker 5: getting criminals off the street who prey on the people
- 23:43Speaker 5: in Los Angeles who are homeless because being homeless isn't
- 23:46Speaker 5: a crime. Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 2: No, but pooping and peeing on the street is.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Apparently not in LA.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Doing drugs on the street and living on the street.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Right, but they're kind of preying on them and just
- 23:58Speaker 5: exacerbating the problem.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Oh, also stealing electricity, rewiring the light poles. What else? Oh,
- 24:06Speaker 2: taking wrenches and pulling water from the fire hydrants, starting
- 24:11Speaker 2: fires in a public place. So being homeless isn't, but
- 24:15Speaker 2: all the stuff that comes with it is, I guess.
- 24:18Speaker 2: All right, NASA's SpaceX crew 12 splashes down off LA
- 24:24Speaker 2: coast after 100 million mile orbital journey. And Amy and
- 24:30Speaker 2: I were watching and we were just talking about how it,
- 24:32Speaker 2: that's another point of pride. It's just cool. And that's
- 24:36Speaker 2: around the world. Sure, do we, you know, USA, USA.
- 24:40Speaker 2: But the achievement of humanity benefits all of us and
- 24:46Speaker 2: around the globe. And just to still see that we're
- 24:51Speaker 2: exploring things. And some people think that the space program is,
- 24:55Speaker 2: you know, not important, but it absolutely is. And if
- 24:59Speaker 2: you read about Elon Musk and SpaceX and some of
- 25:04Speaker 2: the things that he pushed through is fascinating. So like
- 25:09Speaker 2: they would go to get a part and it would
- 25:11Speaker 2: be $ 120, 000 for the part. And he'd look at it
- 25:16Speaker 2: apparently and go, that's about $ 1, 000 in material. And the
- 25:28Speaker 2: technology is not that crazy. So that does not make sense.
- 25:33Speaker 2: So he'd have one of his personnel. He'd go, I'm
- 25:37Speaker 2: giving you $ 5, 000 to make that same thing, which is plenty.
- 25:41Speaker 2: And they'd figure out to do it, and they'd come
- 25:44Speaker 2: in almost $ 1, 900 less than the $ 5, 000. The way he
- 25:50Speaker 2: cut the costs by being more efficient because the space
- 25:54Speaker 2: program was like, well, that's just what it costs, not
- 25:57Speaker 2: based on what it took to make it or the
- 26:00Speaker 2: materials or the time or the tech. And so it's
- 26:04Speaker 2: pretty amazing to see how that all came together there.
- 26:12Speaker 5: I don't like the way he does business. That's what
- 26:15Speaker 5: a mega donor says. This guy is an attorney. His
- 26:20Speaker 5: name is Eric Dieters. And he says that Kimberly Guilfoyle,
- 26:24Speaker 5: who's the new U.S. ambassador to Greece, asked him to
- 26:28Speaker 5: wire $ 100, 000 to her ahead of a hearing to get
- 26:31Speaker 5: her confirmed. and also paid the president's two oldest sons,
- 26:39Speaker 5: Donald Trump and Eric Trump, $ 300, 000 in speaking fees. That's
- 26:44Speaker 5: according to the Wall Street Journal. Dieters says that he
- 26:47Speaker 5: has no issues with the speaking fee payments, but did
- 26:50Speaker 5: express disapproval over cryptocurrency ventures from the Trump people. The
- 26:56Speaker 5: only thing that bothers me, he said, about Donald Trump Jr.
- 26:58Speaker 5: and Eric Trump is how they, along with their father,
- 27:00Speaker 5: are getting rich out in the open with crypto and
- 27:03Speaker 5: everything else. He said President Trump said he hated crypto.
- 27:07Speaker 5: His sons get into crypto, and now he loves crypto.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Did you hear about– I think this is the same guy.
- 27:13Speaker 3: He ended up giving her $ 300, 000 and wanted her to
- 27:17Speaker 3: pass along a song that he wrote to Kid Rock.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Is that what that $ 300, 000 was for? We heard about
- 27:24Speaker 2: the $ 300, 000.
- 27:25Speaker 3: It was for a couple things. It was to get
- 27:28Speaker 3: some meetings done. you know, kind of introduce him to
- 27:31Speaker 3: people in politics. But he was mad that she didn't
- 27:34Speaker 3: ever pass that Kid Rock song along.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Please make that not be true, Lord. Sorry.
- 27:42Speaker 5: He did say she didn't do anything for him. But
- 27:46Speaker 5: I didn't hear the part about Kid Rock.
- 27:48Speaker 2: She doesn't do anything for me either. Alrighty, on that note,
- 27:52Speaker 2: I say we wrap this up and come back with
- 27:55Speaker 2: even more good times on this Funtime Friday on the
- 28:00Speaker 2: Bill Handel Show. Oh, I like that. Funtime Friday.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Funtime Friday.
- 28:03Speaker 2: That's what I'm doing now. Okay. We're giving it new names.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I'm like Trump. I'm just going to rename everything on
- 28:09Speaker 2: Handel's show until he comes back and renames it back.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Funtime Friday with Neil Saavedra and the Morning Crew. Go nowhere.
