- 1:39[SPEAKER_33]: So far this year, the economy has added an average of 68,000 jobs per month, a number that would be considered sort of tepid by historical standards, but certainly better than the 10,000 jobs a month created in 2025.

- 7:01[SPEAKER_24]: What do we got going here?
- 7:04[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_24]: There.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_24]: There.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_24]: Is that better?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_24]: Well.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_24]: Well, we'll try this one.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_24]: Is that better?
- 7:24[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_24]: All right, but we're going to check on a couple of things.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_24]: There we go.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_24]: That's better.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_24]: Oh boy.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_24]: People are portioned buttons, portioned buttons.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_24]: All right, 755, 1240, the phone number.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_24]: If you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today, sorry about the miscued there.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_24]: I'm not perfect.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_24]: Never said I was.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_24]: US crews are trying desperately right now in a round to recover.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_24]: the second of two crew members of a down to f-15 strike Eagle jet crashed over southern Iran earlier today and our reports one crew member has been rescued the other rescue efforts are underway we don't know that but obviously prayers with that person and the people trying to do the tough work of rescuing in hostile territory so we'll see what's
- 8:23[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know of that and uh... what else is happening today well all there was something you know and this is not even real news but earlier today somebody came into it said there was some vandalism incident that the Clayton Legion all these windows broken out of something was very convincing story and apparently it's been spreading around i'd like to check on it night
- 8:50[SPEAKER_24]: He even told Jeff Cole, I said, you know, there's a story about that.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_24]: And then I find out later, it's some idiot down there, it was a April Fool's joke, but they got everybody to believe it.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_24]: And I had to get back in touch with Mr. Cole.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, I heard my reputation there as a gadfly.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_24]: So that's not smart.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_24]: And of the folks in Clayton, I guess there's some people mad down there too.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_24]: All right, so that's done and we got a call coming in.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_24]: Is that tough for us good after doing it on the air?
- 9:27[SPEAKER_27]: Hey, may or I don't know.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_27]: Maybe you remember this.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_27]: What years ago?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_27]: Good Friday.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_24]: Mm-hmm.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_27]: If you own the business, then you should shut the business down about noon.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_27]: Do you remember that timer?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_27]: Uh, no, I don't remember it, but... Yeah, my aunt ran a Russian herner husband there.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_27]: You should shut down about noon.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_27]: You don't see that anymore.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_27]: No.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_27]: No, people don't know what good privacy is even about.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_27]: You know, when I was young, I went to a Catholic school.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_27]: First thing you did in the morning.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_27]: You remember, Mayor?
- 10:04[SPEAKER_24]: What's that?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_27]: Project of Allegiance.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_24]: Project of Allegiance?
- 10:09[SPEAKER_27]: They've done that anymore.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_24]: In school?
- 10:12[SPEAKER_24]: No, I don't think so.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, that's the first thing you did.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_27]: Different society we live in now.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_27]: Oh, yeah.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_27]: What I call about is she did a gentleman that ran a restaurant at the golf club is going to at least a golf club.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_24]: Mm-hmm.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_27]: She did that, Mayor.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_24]: I saw the story in the times, well, it said he had suggested leasing it.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_24]: It did not say it was fate a complaint.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, there's a lot to consider in all of that without getting in the individuals
- 10:47[SPEAKER_24]: you're just creating the same situation as existed before heavily subsidized ownership or operation of that at the expense of the other club in town which you're restricting now to nine holes i don't think it's fair and i don't think it's right he's just trying to shut it down well counsel's got to make a decision i mean if they don't want it quit badmouth again and shut it down otherwise keep it open
- 11:13[SPEAKER_24]: and try to make a lease that means a state uh... can't stick your nose on it we can do it on the state of all i don't know what the issue of parkland and how it is with leases and so on but that's not the point either the point is what you're going to do you can at least end up leasing it for a dollar and you're going to say well we're getting rid of the operating expense and then you're going to provide free water and free electricity like you do now
- 11:40[SPEAKER_24]: And what do you say to whoever owns Ives or anything else or any other business in town who's getting just raked over the calls by electric rates and all of that everything out now I don't think down that I'm here now I'm I would keep it open uh-huh there's a half to make money does everything have to make money
- 12:02[SPEAKER_24]: No, and that's another fall.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_24]: Let me ask you, they're going to raise the police department budget $1.5 million.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_24]: This has nothing to do with whether you back the blue or anything else.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_24]: No.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_24]: Do they make money?
- 12:15[SPEAKER_24]: Is it a fire department?
- 12:16[SPEAKER_24]: No.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_24]: These are government services.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_24]: Partially offset by revenues.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_24]: Now the fact is the city.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_27]: Well, I think we need to police working overtime in what we live in now here in the city.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_24]: That's not the point.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_24]: That's not the point.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_27]: That's not the point.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_27]: is ridiculous.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_27]: You are homeless people in the city.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_27]: You're going to have issues.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_24]: Hmm.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_24]: Well, we got a lot of them.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_27]: You know what?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_27]: I know what.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_27]: I do it with them every day.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_24]: The point on this is every time they turn around.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_24]: Now they're saying the fire, the trash department doesn't make money.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_24]: And they want to close that.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_27]: That's all.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_27]: I don't think that's what I don't think to see your people.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_24]: live in the city want to trash mess with it and now what they're in essence doing is bad mouthing no they're they're on refuse service so people won't use it yeah what they should do we should go back to just pick it up as part of your taxes that's where you used to be every homeowner would say about that and if it they might be paying more in taxes but so what or both are going to raise the sticker price again according to the budget
- 13:22[SPEAKER_24]: or how about allowing people to go to a central drop off place how many people on every week here and go to the dump today you know that's a big social thing in the north country and uh... you know what people do it here in the city there's a lot of things but what you got here and and talking about cutting fifteen paid positions we talked about that months ago of course they have to in order to save money
- 13:52[SPEAKER_24]: before he brought out a budget this is what we want now you're sitting there you know all these people by the one fire and by them we all know who's if there's anybody everybody's got a opinion on who should be like though but they are going to do it so it's a useless are you know seems uh... think we have to come to least 15 people well he's right in order to
- 14:20[SPEAKER_24]: you know, bring a budget down to where it is now.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_24]: The issue is not whether you'd like the police or don't like the police or whether you'd like the fire department or don't like the fire department.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_24]: The issue is, people are struggling.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_27]: Over time, it's not necessary.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_27]: It's my, uh, probably not the fire department.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_27]: Over time, I know it is nothing you can do about because of the damn unit.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_27]: The union guy is not going to come on to show them my right of course not why were they the father chief comes on to show and he tells you what you can ask and what can ask in my correct uh... he's never been on ground rules that when you had to party find the hotline um... i don't think so my wrong or not i don't think the fire anything about the union when the gentleman was on the show
- 15:17[SPEAKER_24]: I don't recall the fire chief ever being on the hotline.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_27]: Yes he was.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_27]: Yes he was, Mayor.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_24]: When I was doing this.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_27]: He had there was a wrong route set up before he came out.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_27]: So I couldn't call in and ask the question about the fire you had.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_24]: Well, what do you want to ask?
- 15:37[SPEAKER_24]: You can ask me.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_27]: I have a lot of questions.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_27]: I wanted to what you call a people and you don't need.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_27]: 1.5 million and over time are you apping kidding me that's what's killing us the over time is killing us in the city mr. show knows it the city manager should know it again the city manager doesn't live in the city how many times have I got to say it we never had a city manager living outside the city mayor you
- 16:15[SPEAKER_27]: reach it in your pocketbooks you want a living here i want city employees living in water town well you know it makes sense it makes a lot of sense but this council doesn't believe in that this is shows you only one open this month on it one thing mayer on this park uh... i mentioned this a long time we have to get
- 16:42[SPEAKER_27]: a place where you're a snack bar in the park.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_27]: We got the old bath house, you know where it is mayor?
- 16:50[SPEAKER_24]: Oh yes.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_27]: Turn that into a snack bar.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_27]: There used to be a snack bar on the side of the hill when I was young at the zoo.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_27]: You're going to raise money there, so hot dog jammer, the building's right there.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_27]: You're going to put some money into it.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_27]: You're going
- 17:13[SPEAKER_27]: There's no stack bar at the zoo.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_27]: At the park.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_27]: There was one there at the side of the hill when I was young for years.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_27]: That bath house sat there how many years.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, I don't know why that when they put the new pool in and the new bath house.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know why they kept the old one other than some kind of.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, the old building is sitting there.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_27]: There's stuffing it with garbage.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_27]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 18:11[SPEAKER_27]: Well, I remember the old time, remember to pull over by the waterpuff, building their mayor.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_27]: Would you want a tower or is it by the playground?
- 18:22[SPEAKER_24]: Oh yeah, the waiting pool, yeah.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_27]: Remember the waiting pool, I remember that.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_27]: My god, you couldn't do that today if you'd like to depend on it.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_24]: Oh no, no.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_27]: Imagine that.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_24]: Well, I was talking to a fellow who owns a golf course in town, and he isn't too happy about this subsidizing somebody to run the city course and Who's that, Mr. Johnson?
- 18:48[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_24]: Why would he be?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_27]: I mean, I play that water town course.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_27]: When I used to play golf.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_27]: He ever played golf there?
- 19:02[SPEAKER_24]: A little bit years ago, not much.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_27]: We got, I got the bug when I played.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, but it's a nice course up there.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_27]: I had a one point from up 30 feet.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_27]: I wanted to hold up there But the only five was it would be 10 shots to get the degree.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_24]: Hey, who's a question?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_24]: Do you think do you think Tiger Woods really called the president when he got pulled over by the cops?
- 19:23[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, I think he wanted Mr. Trump to talk to the police that a lot about.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_27]: Let it go.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_27]: But he's going overseas to get his
- 19:37[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, it's not a nice guy, I'm great player probably the top two with three golfers in the history of golf He can't relate to average people like an Arnold farmer could Your partner would talk to anybody if you wrote a letter on a polymer mare He answered every letter we ever got Just a great guy It wasn't a great guy He opened up hospitals for chicks
- 20:03[SPEAKER_27]: the kind of guy you wanted as an athlete that knew how to relate to average people tell your kid relate to an average person he can't wipe his butt unless he talks to the people that run his life corporate people run this man's life yeah great all for but as far as the average person he can't relate to the average guy working 95 yeah you know
- 20:27[SPEAKER_27]: Well, he'll get around it.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, he won't do any jail time ready.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_27]: He's done an alcohol.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_27]: He's done some heavy medication because of all his surgeries.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_27]: I'm sure anyway.

- 20:52[SPEAKER_22]: Oh, is that right?
- 20:53[SPEAKER_22]: Yeah.

- 21:12[SPEAKER_27]: Mr. Homan seems like a decent guy.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_24]: No, I think so.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_27]: Yeah, yeah, he made decent, we made some mistakes, but everybody makes mistakes, you know?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_27]: But I don't know, Mayor, I think the one call was right, a poll I would call instead of if these could.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_27]: If we get all these Democrats together, they might come in and cause issues.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_24]: Well, you know, the town board put out a letter with no one signed it, but it was a letter.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_24]: And it was kind of, you know, it didn't really say anything.

- 28:05[SPEAKER_24]: Okay, so anyway, I don't know who was behind this letter, but this is considered an old-time home and thing and all of that.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, a lot of people are on both sides and there's two sides in this issue.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_24]: A lot of people are applauding the mayor for saying, I don't want to do business with this guy because he's hooked up with Trump policies on immigration.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_24]: on a people feel that way that news others is that that's not fair this guy's local these good guy and it's discriminatory you know discrimination is not new to that area years ago there was a house or a complex of summer homes down there and i can mention the name of it but they had in their in a deed and the property no blacks no jews and no italians and that i'm told is why merges beach was started to get around that

- 29:19[SPEAKER_20]: Okay.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_25]: Uh, what everybody's feeling to notice is, time-homeman is not a politician, time-homeman is a law enforcement officer.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_25]: I knew him when he first started in law enforcement.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_25]: Straight up on it's good guy.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_25]: He's doing his job for forcing the laws, the Congress path.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_25]: They don't like the laws, they don't like the laws.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_25]: He's not working for Trump laws.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_25]: He's working for what Congress wants to do.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_25]: He's a law enforcement officer.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_25]: So what's down the line?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_25]: The military
- 29:58[SPEAKER_25]: And then you're going to come back and get the welcome to get an on veteran's got, you know, is that what's down the road?
- 30:05[SPEAKER_25]: Because the soldiers are four-drunk, got deployed to a work.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_25]: No one wanted to know what would be like.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_25]: We got, you know, the guy is a pop.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_25]: You know, so what you're going to start hate on is your tax collector.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_25]: You're going to, because your tax is one up, or the IRS, the guy who lives on the street and works for the IRS.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_25]: but not his laws for the laws of the past by Congress.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_25]: Where do you draw the line?
- 30:35[SPEAKER_25]: This is just so much bologna.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_25]: And I bet you back in the day, back at Harvard people during their back to be a non veterans.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_25]: Just like most of this nation did.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I don't know.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_25]: They leave the path on discrimination.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_25]: They're showing it.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_25]: They're showing their colors.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_24]: Wow.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_24]: Well, there's a lot of, a lot of chance about how many people live out there.

- 31:05[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_25]: You man's doing his job.

- 31:11[SPEAKER_24]: Do you know him?
- 31:12[SPEAKER_25]: Anyway, I just, I had to vent.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_25]: I've been here in this crap, you know.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_25]: Do you know me?
- 31:18[SPEAKER_25]: And you know what I've done for 40 years.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_20]: Oh, I know.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_25]: He discriminated here to get signed because of that.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_25]: It just really crossed me.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you, by now.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_24]: Good afternoon, Ronier.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_18]: How are you doing sir?
- 31:33[SPEAKER_24]: Good, what's up?
- 31:35[SPEAKER_18]: I'd like to repeat his sentiment.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_18]: Although I would like to add to it.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_18]: I see this as him repeatedly targeting, you know, woman.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_18]: And try to understand his personal business,
- 31:57[SPEAKER_18]: And I think that Alex knows now because the people are speaking now and people know or know, rather we aware of it because I'm getting full goals of my being entered on the radio last night, but he just has to realize that you're treating a law enforcement officer.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_18]: He promised not all of this and he's a cop, you know?
- 32:21[SPEAKER_18]: You're basically saying, everybody in law enforcement that's on the other side of the eye of you, Alex, shouldn't have the rules in sack of cyber, shouldn't have the both.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_18]: Just because they parted, he had business with you, you should have made it a private matter, but you may have public, once again to attack Mr. Roman, it's crazy because in the thing about this is the law of evil, don't mention this.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_18]: And I want to misresteer this, Mr. Obama is the one who will originally hire Mr. woman to the job, okay?
- 32:56[SPEAKER_18]: He was fired originally to do the job he's doing right now, but it doesn't occur.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_24]: Okay, yep, we know, and Mr. Obama gave him a reward too, so.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, I mean, this is crazy, you know, I really don't know if there was a personal left, is it, does?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_24]: this personal animosity between well you know let me yeah but let me just say i've i've read a lot of comments online and heard people who are saying yeah i'll put my boat there now or yeah good good for you for standing up for principle there are a lot of people on the other side now there's a lot of people who agree with you don't get me wrong but a lot of people on the other side that support the mayor well okay okay that's fine let me get a little deeper here okay
- 33:40[SPEAKER_18]: The pre-support, where does what blackness support?
- 33:43[SPEAKER_18]: Does he support the flooding of satin all under our funds?
- 33:47[SPEAKER_18]: Try to act, let's ask Alex what he supports.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_18]: Get him out of his show and ask him.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_18]: Why do you so keen on ponding Mr. Hammond?
- 33:56[SPEAKER_18]: It's a moment, and I've brought the riddles, the grazing of land.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_18]: Thank you.

- 34:17[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_24]: All right.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_24]: But I know.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_24]: And of course, the mayor is welcome here if he wants to come in, more than he was gracious enough to respond to me when I asked him about this question and begin with, so, you know, whatever.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_24]: Hey, listen, we're going to read that letter now.

- 42:17[SPEAKER_24]: That wasn't why we had him on.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_24]: Exactly.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_24]: So I mean, and he's welcome to come back again as is any member of the police or fire department, but they don't seem to water.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_24]: So I'm not going to, you know, I don't go out and beg for guests.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_24]: You know, if they want to get a message out, it's like anything.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_26]: I just wanted to let you know you were right and it was just cat and little okay.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_24]: Right now.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_24]: Of course I'm right.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_24]: Okay, we ran the ladder.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_24]: I think it's on news junkie too.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_24]: And I don't know if the other media is doing anything on it today but we'll see.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_24]: Other things in the news.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_24]: the other big story again was the lead story in the waterjohn times today about Mr. Markone wanted to lease the you know he's the one who does the concession up there now he wants to lease the golf club we don't know any proposals any dollar amounts any whatever's so
- 43:33[SPEAKER_24]: You know, everybody says all of release it won't cost us anything and there's no guarantee of that.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_24]: But after dinner on the air.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_10]: Good afternoon, Jeff.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_10]: I want to comment on a person called yesterday about treason the margin damage in the sewer lines.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_10]: That's true, but she's got a real eyes.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_10]: The city's infrastructure, the plumbing.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_10]: The sewer lines under their cast iron pipes.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_10]: The next, the leaking.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_10]: And the tree roots in the margin.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_10]: find their way down to a sewer pipe and crush it.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_10]: Those pipes are already.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_24]: Well, yeah, no, I got that.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_24]: And the trees are nice.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_24]: After these decades are getting kind of on really, I think he was, the caller was discussing whether we need a tree person on staff and, you know, well, no, that's just true.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_10]: Don't budget because I realize that, but it's not really a tree's fo me.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_10]: The tree's
- 44:31[SPEAKER_10]: They'd be able to find the area.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_10]: There's a lot of streets, you know, you go down a lot of streets when they read that green avenue, green avenue looks great with all those trees down there.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_10]: Of course, the maintenance end is another thing.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_10]: Just because you're playing a train, you're you argue that that's not the end of it.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_10]: There's constant maintenance, okay.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_10]: Prown in, cleaning up the mess and all that.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_10]: And I drove around a lot of city streets, he'll be there.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_10]: There's leaves and people's yard to haven't even been rake since last fall.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_20]: Mm-hmm.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_20]: So I mean, kind of take a little pride in your property.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_10]: the budget but they're going to have to make some decisions because the problems are haven't right now listen just they just didn't happen overnight.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_24]: Somebody said my voice is super loud I'll try to tone it down but now I understand that what's you're feeling on the golf course and the trash service.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_10]: Well the golf course should be closed because then it could run between 500,000 and a million
- 45:31[SPEAKER_10]: The clubhouse is not in good shape.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_10]: You've got the golf carts, and there's a lot of things that need to be done, and we just just, and I'll believe down to what you can afford, okay?
- 45:46[SPEAKER_10]: We shouldn't be ashamed to say we just can't afford it.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_10]: This trip all day and say, well, there's nothing going on in the city, listen, we're small town, we can't afford it, and we just have to,
- 46:00[SPEAKER_10]: Because if you don't, these are decisions that should have been made a long time ago, and now they're catching up with us.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_10]: And if you don't make them now, if they can't, if they can't make the right decisions right now, I agree with Mr. Show and 100%.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_10]: And he knew this was coming years ago.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_10]: If we don't make the decisions now by 2013, and I don't even like to say 2013, I like to say three years and nine months, because that's what it is.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_10]: We're going to be in Solve, and we're actually going to have a ton of water that's going to have to take us over.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_10]: The county's going to have to take us over.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_10]: And everybody, so the whole land won't happen, and we have that will happen.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_10]: We've been moving figures around, you know, yourself, you're a mayor for five terms.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_10]: By a budget time, they can't pull the trigger on decision-making, so they'll shuffle a few figures around here and there, and they'll say that'll get us by next year.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_10]: But guess what, next year is here.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_10]: we're deeper and deeper into debt.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, it seems that way.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_24]: We're going to have to make a judgment right now.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_10]: They're not part of the living.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_24]: But everybody says we got to do something.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_24]: You got a city manager won't say was never put on a spot and said cut 15 positions.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_24]: Give us a memo with what you want to cut, but even be a secret memo.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_24]: And
- 47:20[SPEAKER_24]: But they don't do that.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_24]: They just talk about it.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_24]: But what do they want to cut?
- 47:25[SPEAKER_10]: Well, listen.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_10]: It's up to counsel.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_10]: What you say is we need to cut 15 positions.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_10]: That's what is that's what we're paying here.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_24]: Right.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_24]: You're paying a city manager to have the management expertise.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_24]: So you say we got to get rid of 15 positions in order to bring this budget in the line.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_24]: Well, some of the department heads might be the ones who have to go.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_24]: So, you know, he's got to make that recommendation.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_24]: So far, that's been not been forthcoming.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_10]: Well, several meetings ago, he says, I don't have a problem.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not afraid to tell people they have to be laid off.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_10]: Well, apparently he does, okay, because it isn't getting done.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_10]: All right, apparently he does have a problem.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_21]: See in there.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_10]: make them, and they've got to make them this year.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_10]: We can't keep shuffling around telling the mills to shuffle these figures around.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_10]: Move a few figures here, raise a few projections here, that'll get us by this year.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_10]: Then guess what, next year comes along, we're deeper and deeper into debt.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_10]: You're going to have to make a decision this year.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_10]: I don't know what they're going to do if they can pull it.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_10]: And I don't know how in the trash service last year could be.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_10]: I go in all the meetings, I pay attention to what they say, it's trash service, they said it was actually one of the quote-unquote This was one of the few services that's making money in this city.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_21]: Hmm.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_10]: How do you go from last year making money to this year you're not making money?
- 48:55[SPEAKER_10]: Exactly.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_10]: Because they want to get rid of the trash service and I mean, I don't have a problem getting rid of the trash service or picking up leaves or brush.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, I don't.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_10]: I don't mind getting rid of those services really, because you know what, if people like those services then you better go to the council meeting and speak up, and I know a lot of people want to go to council meeting to have a fine.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_10]: They go on the internet and they can, they're phone numbers, they're all the council fees, they're cell phones.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_10]: They don't even have to talk to a person if they don't want to, they can text message them and tell them and express their concerns.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_10]: But you got to say something to them, because lay in silence and not say nothing.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_10]: they're going to do what they want to do.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_10]: So you've got three.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_24]: I still say six percent and they all go home.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_10]: No, I'm not happy with six percent.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_10]: No.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_10]: Absolutely not.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_10]: Because six percent is not really addressing the issues that are going on.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_24]: The unfortunate thing is all of the other things in our lives that keep costing more and more and more.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_10]: We have no control over it.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_10]: I don't mind spending 12, 14% tax increases.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_10]: Well, that's fine.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_10]: I don't know where you work, but the majority of the people on the east, the north, and the west, and the city, the paycheck, the paycheck that got expenses, like you said, it's accumulating.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_24]: Well, a 12% tax increase in and of itself, whatever that amount of money is, is not going to kill any individual, but doubling of electric rates, everything else goes up.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_10]: accumulation of all the other expenses on top of that.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_24]: And then the gas prices, they're going to use that as an excuse now.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_24]: Hey, listen, I got a run, okay?
- 50:43[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_24]: Bye now.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_24]: Good afternoon, Ron here.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_16]: Good afternoon, Jeff.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_16]: I heard you're talking about nice attacks in water town yesterday and you were commenting about how the number of nice attacks has been increasing and the reminded me of an article
- 51:00[SPEAKER_16]: in the national media about a couple of years ago I was saying that knife attacks no more people in the United States each year die from knives than they do from guns and I thought that was an interesting statistic and I just thought I'd raise it in the view of what you had to say yes to him here.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_16]: Have a good weekend happy Easter.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you, too.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_24]: That's probably true.

- 54:44[SPEAKER_24]: Depend on it.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_24]: Indeed.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_24]: We're one of our liberal collars.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_24]: Texted in, close on Easter, a national grid bill would be less.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_24]: Well, yeah, it would be in a sense that you wouldn't see the neon lights, television sets, maybe a couple other lights.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_24]: stereo, maybe, uh... production of this.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_24]: There would, there are some marginal cost, but with this color doesn't realize that in a business there's idling cost no matter what.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_24]: Whether you're open or not.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_24]: And a place like Pearl Street problem, you know, when you want to thank you plowing an average at over the year, take your cleaning supplies, take your heat, and all of that, and phone and cable.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_24]: And maybe you average it out and it comes up to a hundred dollars a day or something.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_24]: Let's just pick a figure and that's a hundred dollars you're paying, whether you're open or not.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_24]: You might say five dollars, a marginal cost, a electricity or a little heat or something, but I don't know.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_24]: The same person also texted no layoffs.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_24]: Well again, this is an individual who doesn't understand the value of a dollar and thinks that, oh, but he's an endless trough of which to extract dollars.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_24]: And I don't think it is, I don't think it is.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_24]: Okay, 755, 1240, our phone number, if you'd like to give us a call to get in in the last few minutes here.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_24]: See if there's any other text messages?
- 56:15[SPEAKER_24]: Somebody says, angry guy and Frank are both good callers.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_24]: They are, yes.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_24]: They are.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_24]: um... the dot says that letter i've read is meaningless without a signature well-dough i think yeah a kind of is and it doesn't really say anything anyway other work committed transparency and whatever so i i don't know what the purpose was other than perhaps it extends the new cycle a little bit if the other media and talent chooses to cover what's in the letter
- 56:55[SPEAKER_24]: So, I don't know what the purpose of it was either.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_24]: And if you're not going to sign it, what's the purpose of it?
- 57:02[SPEAKER_24]: Not very much.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_24]: And they don't need to explain anything.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_24]: It's a lovely village, a food squad.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, they got some great businesses there.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_24]: You know, people who want to go there are going to go there.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_24]: And, like I said, I think, you know,
- 57:22[SPEAKER_24]: I think the mayor gains as much as he loses on business at his places.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_24]: Whether it be his hotels or his liquor store or his.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_24]: Marina.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_24]: Yes, there might be one or two people who might say I'm going to put my boat somewhere or they're going to put it.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_24]: But.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_24]: You know, everybody else is like there's a lot of people who are going to come to that area and say I'm going to spend my money because
- 57:52[SPEAKER_24]: He stood up to Trump, and that means a lot to some people, not everybody, but some people.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_24]: All right?
- 58:02[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_24]: Now, what's our forecast with it?
- 58:07[SPEAKER_24]: What a beautiful day today, isn't it?
- 58:09[SPEAKER_24]: Looks like a gorgeous gorgeous day, so why don't we take a peek and have to weather?
- 58:20[SPEAKER_24]: We'll look at Fox weather today.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, come on.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_24]: Blood warning in effect.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, today we're going to get to 68 we're already there.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_24]: Tomorrow morning, I have some rain in 35 in the morning, 59 in the afternoon.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_24]: We'll get up to 57 on Sunday.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_24]: So it looks like a very nice weekend.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_24]: for April flowers and then cool's off a bit on Monday down to 30, high of 39, low of 24 on Tuesday morning, high of 34, then it starts to warm up again.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_24]: We get to 45 on Wednesday up 62 and we start hanging up there in the 50.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_24]: So I think it's fair to say, waiters over, yes, they'll be a foot of snow on Mother's Day.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_24]: But I think we've made it through the
- 59:15[SPEAKER_24]: they've already taken at least one or two of the plows off the road down in barn squerners but you know they keep a couple of plows suited up and ready to go all year round because you just can't be sure this is the north country happened any time of the year so there you go always prepared just like the boy scouts down always prepared well Glen Couriel be in at five o'clock today he's going to have a live at five show for you don't want to miss it it'll be interesting and beyond that
- 59:44[SPEAKER_24]: I just want to say to you happy happy happy Easter and remember what it all means have a good time and it's a AM-1240 WAT and Watertown New York the time one a clock yes news next again
