- 1:09Speaker 1: The world famous Phil Henry Show the greatest value online
- 1:11Speaker 1: other than porn. Hey, welcome to another radio archive hour
- 1:14Speaker 1: here in the Phil Henry Show. This is Lloyd bona
- 1:16Speaker 1: fide a character that eventually I think morphed into General
- 1:19Speaker 1: Galen Shaw, a Korean War veteran. And he's on the
- 1:22Speaker 1: show this particular episode to complain about Southern California Edison
- 1:26Speaker 1: rate hikes. That's the utility company here in California, in
- 1:29Speaker 1: Southern California, and that caused him and his wife not
- 1:32Speaker 1: to be able to use their Nativity scene the electricity
- 1:34Speaker 1: and so forth. And he winds up throwing a baby
- 1:36Speaker 1: Jesus doll at the Southern California Edison truck and it's
- 1:40Speaker 1: just a great classic example of Lloyd's mania. He's nuts
- 1:45Speaker 1: and he carries us all along in his little insane
- 1:49Speaker 1: world as he tosses the baby Jesus quote down the street.
- 1:52Speaker 1: He has a lot of religious guild here.
- 1:54Speaker 2: He is.
- 1:56Speaker 1: He's also quasi, you know, he's kind of a violent guy.
- 2:00Speaker 1: He's everything that makes us laugh.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Here's Lloyd has he got a gentle on the line here, Alhambra.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Hello, yes, sir, Hi, yes, sir, am on the ear.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You are on the are sir?
- 2:12Speaker 3: All right? I am very sorry. I have a very
- 2:16Speaker 3: bad temper. But last night I was in front of
- 2:21Speaker 3: my house. Has anybody called mister Henry about southern California Edison?
- 2:27Speaker 2: No, nobody has called about that. Are you talking about
- 2:28Speaker 2: the rate hike?
- 2:29Speaker 3: I'm talking about what those guys are doing to the
- 2:33Speaker 3: state of California. We have got an energy shortage, which
- 2:38Speaker 3: means we are not allowed to use our Christmas lights,
- 2:41Speaker 3: and they're going to have a rate hike.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I know that, I understand that. I hear that the
- 2:50Speaker 2: rates are going to be hiked and that they're still
- 2:53Speaker 2: going to be maybe rolling blackouts, and so it's not
- 2:56Speaker 2: a very good situation.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Well, I purchased almost eight hundred dollars worth of Christmas lights,
- 3:03Speaker 3: and I have a beautiful activity scene, and I have
- 3:08Speaker 3: an automatic reindeer and center display.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You know, so you got the whole deal.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yes, sir, I've got a very significant and impressive Nativity
- 3:19Speaker 3: scene and Christmas display, but we're not allowed to turn
- 3:23Speaker 3: them on.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Well, the governor and everybody says, don't turn on the
- 3:27Speaker 2: Christmas lights because we're gonna have blackout. We're gonna have
- 3:29Speaker 2: rolling blackouts. He is the state of California doesn't have
- 3:32Speaker 2: any juice because of deregulation.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Because of deregulation, and because of the inability of Southern
- 3:40Speaker 3: California Edison to provide electricity. That's all there is to it.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And now they want to stick their hands in my pocket.
- 3:48Speaker 3: And I'll tell you something. I saw a Southern California
- 3:51Speaker 3: Edison truck going down the street and make God forgive me.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But what may God forgive you for?
- 3:59Speaker 3: What? Whoever? I lost my temper?
- 4:04Speaker 2: What did you do? Pal? Did you didn't shoot at them?
- 4:06Speaker 4: No?
- 4:06Speaker 3: No, I didn't shoot it, though, but I threw a
- 4:09Speaker 3: I threw. I got so angry that I threw a
- 4:16Speaker 3: the the Baby Jesus at the.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Truck and you threw what.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I have a Nativity scene and I picked up the
- 4:25Speaker 3: the Baby Jesus figuring and threw it at the Southern
- 4:28Speaker 3: California Andison truck.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Is there a Let me ask you something. There isn't
- 4:33Speaker 2: any problem. You didn't hurt anybody, did you.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I didn't even hit the truck with it, But I
- 4:36Speaker 3: was so angry that I threw it at the truck.
- 4:40Speaker 3: And I'm so disturbed because it's a sacriligion, my religion, and.
- 4:48Speaker 2: What religion are you, sir?
- 4:49Speaker 3: I'm Lutheran and it's a sin to throw any kind
- 4:55Speaker 3: of religious icon. And I was very frustrated. I was
- 4:59Speaker 3: very crazy. My wife asked me what was wrong that
- 5:02Speaker 3: I told her to go back in the house.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And I, well, what are you afraid is gonna happen.
- 5:11Speaker 3: What I'm afraid, mister Henry, is that Southern California Edison
- 5:15Speaker 3: is inspiring these acts of religious desecration because they can't
- 5:23Speaker 3: provide us with electricity.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're the guy that picked up the baby
- 5:27Speaker 2: Jesus figuring and threw it at the Southern California Edison truck.
- 5:31Speaker 2: You're the guy that, yes, I know that, you're the
- 5:33Speaker 2: guy that reached down. Was this a baby Jesus figure
- 5:36Speaker 2: that was laying in a manger?
- 5:37Speaker 3: It was an addativity scene?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yes, sir, I mean you lost your temper.
- 5:43Speaker 3: But Southern California Edison, in my opinion, drove me to
- 5:47Speaker 3: it by their inability to provide me with electricity so
- 5:52Speaker 3: that we could have beautiful Christmas lights.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And for those of you who aren't aware, everybody in
- 5:58Speaker 2: California knows. We're having a rolling blackout situation. We're having
- 6:02Speaker 2: a uh. And the guy next door in US, Yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 2: I had hold on for a minute. We're having an energy
- 6:07Speaker 2: crunch here in California because we don't have enough power.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I guess we don't have enough power stations online. We
- 6:13Speaker 2: also have deregulation, which is I'm not sure how that
- 6:16Speaker 2: figures into it. And uh. And they've got the Public
- 6:18Speaker 2: Utilities Commission asked for a rate hike and and and
- 6:21Speaker 2: that's angering, isn't it.
- 6:22Speaker 3: That angers be because they want more money.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But you're the guy that picked up the baby Jesus
- 6:28Speaker 2: figuring and through it at the Southern California Edison truck.
- 6:32Speaker 3: No, sir, I think their hearts are as black as coal.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And I'm so very sorry that I desecrated a religious
- 6:39Speaker 3: site through my anger. All right, So I just want
- 6:43Speaker 3: to say that Southern California Edison has caused me to
- 6:46Speaker 3: desecrate and to violate our religious symbol. And I do
- 6:50Speaker 3: Edison with evil and this proves it. Okay, but you're
- 6:55Speaker 3: the guy.
- 6:55Speaker 2: You hear what I'm saying.
- 6:56Speaker 3: But they're evil rate hikes forced by and I had
- 7:00Speaker 3: no choice but Defrogy that Jesus dummy, and so I
- 7:06Speaker 3: I am wanting your listeners, don't let this happen to you,
- 7:09Speaker 3: because if you feel the way most Californians do about Edison,
- 7:15Speaker 3: if you see one of their trucks, you may be
- 7:17Speaker 3: so angry that Edison will force you to you know,
- 7:22Speaker 3: I just don't know. A friend of mine, Don Steer,
- 7:24Speaker 3: which said I bet you Edison would force you to
- 7:26Speaker 3: know a nun Carneally. Edison made me do it. And
- 7:31Speaker 3: I don't know if I'll go to hell.
- 7:34Speaker 2: All right, I don't know that, sir. You have a
- 7:37Speaker 2: lot of anger obviously toward Edison.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I have anger. I feel I'll go to hell.
- 7:42Speaker 2: You're a Lutheran and you threw a Jesus dummy.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Well, it's the little baby Jesus dummy that they put
- 7:48Speaker 3: in the manger.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Okay, you threw the Jesus dummy down the street because
- 7:52Speaker 2: you were angry at Edison. And you're afraid that other
- 7:55Speaker 2: people will be angry at Edison as well.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Yes, I am, Well they are.
- 7:58Speaker 2: People are angry at Southern California Edison. They're they're angry
- 8:01Speaker 2: at their mismanagement of our resource. They're angry at their
- 8:03Speaker 2: mismanagement of our electrical power. Okay, it doesn't mean that
- 8:07Speaker 2: Southern California Edison is necessarily going to make somebody go
- 8:11Speaker 2: out and have sex with a nun. Okay.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Well, I believe that I'm a very religious man, and
- 8:19Speaker 3: by Lutheran faith is important to me.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And I appreciate that.
- 8:25Speaker 3: And if they can make me get so angry that
- 8:28Speaker 3: I tossed the Jesus the baby, did.
- 8:32Speaker 2: You find it? What did you go down the street
- 8:34Speaker 2: and get the Jesus dummy that you threw?
- 8:36Speaker 3: Yes? I did, sir, Yes, I did, sir, And I
- 8:39Speaker 3: brought it back and glued they headed come off, and
- 8:43Speaker 3: I glued the head back on, but it was crooked.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I just feel I'm an instrument of their evil.
- 8:50Speaker 2: All right. Well, you know, I am not happy with
- 8:53Speaker 2: the way Edison has managed things either. But I have
- 8:56Speaker 2: to say to you that you tossed that baby Jesus
- 8:59Speaker 2: dummy down the streets, sir.
- 9:01Speaker 3: They did it to me, sir. They forced me the They.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Didn't pick that dummy up and throw it. And let's
- 9:07Speaker 2: not call it a Jesus dummy. Okay, the little baby
- 9:10Speaker 2: Jesus figuring what's it made out of?
- 9:11Speaker 3: It's made out of some kind of plaster of Paris.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So it's not that, no, I just yeah. I mean,
- 9:18Speaker 2: you see the Southern California Edison truck down the street.
- 9:21Speaker 2: You get angry, you reach down, you grab the baby
- 9:23Speaker 2: Jesus dummy, and you throw it.
- 9:24Speaker 3: It's just like that. And the Edison trucks are orange,
- 9:28Speaker 3: just like the flames of Hell. It was almost as
- 9:31Speaker 3: if I was throwing Christ into Hell.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Well, I think you're overreacting.
- 9:38Speaker 3: And I don't think you don't know my religion.
- 9:40Speaker 2: All right, I may not know your religion, but I
- 9:42Speaker 2: think you're overreacting. I don't think you're through. It's a figure, okay.
- 9:46Speaker 3: It is a replica of the way the baby Jesus
- 9:50Speaker 3: looked the day he laid in of Ajor. It had
- 9:54Speaker 3: diapers on and a little pig face. And all I'm
- 9:59Speaker 3: saying is I'm gonna run in the hell for the
- 10:02Speaker 3: things that I think about doing with it.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Sometimes you think about doing other things with it, do you?
- 10:11Speaker 3: I do?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Like what? Like what?
- 10:20Speaker 3: I don't want to say.
- 10:24Speaker 2: It's one thing to throw the baby Jesus dummy down
- 10:26Speaker 2: the street at the Edison truck. Now you're telling me
- 10:29Speaker 2: that you think about doing other things with the Jesus dummy, Yes, sir,
- 10:36Speaker 2: you're scaring me.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Man.
- 10:38Speaker 2: This guy is he's so angry at Edison because he
- 10:40Speaker 2: can't use his Christmas lights that he picked up a
- 10:42Speaker 2: baby Jesus out of the manger that he has and
- 10:45Speaker 2: threw it at the Edison truck and that was going
- 10:49Speaker 2: down his street. And apparently he thinks he's gonna burn
- 10:53Speaker 2: in hell. Phil Henry Show, still, Henry Show. And I
- 11:15Speaker 2: understand your name is Lloyd, sir.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Is that right, Yes, sir?
- 11:18Speaker 2: And you live in Alhambra, Yes, I do.
- 11:20Speaker 3: And the very Christmas dealers.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Henry, thank you. You threw a baby Jesus figurine from
- 11:27Speaker 2: a nativity scene that your wife and you have in
- 11:29Speaker 2: the front lawn.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Yes, a nativity scene. We've had that for a lot
- 11:33Speaker 3: of years.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And you were angry at the Southern California Edison utility
- 11:38Speaker 2: truck going down the street because there's no power in
- 11:40Speaker 2: California these days.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Oh, yes, sir, and nobody is allowed to use their
- 11:46Speaker 3: Christmas lights. And I saw these and I won't use
- 11:50Speaker 3: the word, but it begins with a bee and I
- 11:52Speaker 3: think you know what I'm talking about, Yes, sir, I do.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Going down the road and I got so angry. I
- 11:59Speaker 3: just reached out and the grab of Jesus dummy, and
- 12:02Speaker 3: I threw it, and I thought, oh God, what have
- 12:05Speaker 3: I done? Oh God, this is the symbol of our
- 12:09Speaker 3: Lord Jesus Christ as an infant. And I threw it
- 12:12Speaker 3: in a truck and it broke in half, and I
- 12:15Speaker 3: felt as if I had committed rape.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And just just just relax because I've got some people
- 12:21Speaker 2: who want to talk to you. I have some people
- 12:24Speaker 2: who would like to talk to you.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Yes, sir, I could get my wife out of the.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Other No, no, no, just just you you hold on, okay, yes, sir?
- 12:33Speaker 2: All right? What do we have here? Susan, you're at
- 12:36Speaker 2: a Phil Henry show? Hello? Hello, Yes, ma'am, go ahead.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Hi.
- 12:40Speaker 5: I just wanted to make a comment to a gentleman
- 12:42Speaker 5: in California. I have family in California, and I certainly
- 12:45Speaker 5: commiserate with the pain that the Californians are going through.
- 12:49Speaker 3: They won't let us come on the Christmas lights out
- 12:51Speaker 3: of here because of the electricity.
- 12:54Speaker 5: I just want to make one comment to you. First
- 12:56Speaker 5: of all, I do believe that we all get angry,
- 13:01Speaker 5: regardless of how regardless of how.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Angry we get, I did get angry.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Well, let me finish. I have two coming. We all
- 13:10Speaker 5: get angry, but we are all held accountable for our actions.
- 13:14Speaker 5: I think what you're feeling is you're feeling badly because
- 13:19Speaker 5: of what you did, not that it was Yes, it
- 13:22Speaker 5: was a baby Jesus, and that makes it worse.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Welled, the infant Jesus is saying.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Let them, Let the lady finish. Let the lady finish,
- 13:34Speaker 2: all right.
- 13:36Speaker 5: My point is, and I wanted to. I called because
- 13:39Speaker 5: I also am Lutheran, and I believe what you're feeling
- 13:46Speaker 5: is embarrassment and or uh, you're you're sorry for what
- 13:51Speaker 5: you did. And if you are a Lutheran, you know
- 13:54Speaker 5: that you ask for forgiveness and forgiveness will be granted.
- 13:57Speaker 5: So that's all you know.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I did do that, And then I looked down at
- 14:01Speaker 3: the Jesus dummy that I tried to glow it back together,
- 14:05Speaker 3: and a funny thing happened. Mister Henry and this good lady,
- 14:08Speaker 3: I'll tell you the Jesus the wooden Jesus head looked
- 14:13Speaker 3: back at me, and I felt so ashamed.
- 14:17Speaker 5: You're feeling wouldn't you're feeling bad about its getting angry?
- 14:25Speaker 2: All right, hold it together, the Lloyd. Okay, look, all
- 14:28Speaker 2: it was was a wooden head man.
- 14:31Speaker 3: But why was it looking at me?
- 14:33Speaker 2: Because you laid it back in the manger, didn't you?
- 14:35Speaker 3: Yes, I did.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Well, it's going to look back up at you.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Oh that's a rough one.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Look man, you picked it up, you threw it. Take responsibility.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Think of what you're saying, Susan, right, take responsibility for
- 14:48Speaker 2: your actions.
- 14:50Speaker 3: But I desecrated it.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Is there such a thing in the Lutheran faith of
- 14:54Speaker 2: desecrating a religious symbol?
- 14:58Speaker 3: At that? I broke the head off on it included
- 15:02Speaker 3: on crooked.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Well, oh god, I think I've made my point.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Thank you very much for your call. Here is uh Dorothy?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Hello Dorothy or on the Phil Henry Show.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Hey, hi Dorothy, Hi him.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I feel so bad for you, but.
- 15:17Speaker 5: You should know by luther and that are you Lutheran?
- 15:22Speaker 4: No, we used to be Catholic, though I'm a Christian now.
- 15:25Speaker 4: So the thing that you have done, I've.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Pitched the Jesus down the street. No, sir, yes, I do.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Listen. Your sin was the sin of anger.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And all right, That's that's what I'm trying to tell him.
- 15:38Speaker 4: An all you need do is go before the Lord,
- 15:40Speaker 4: confess your anger, go to your church.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Oh but I'm doing that right now. On the Mister
- 15:45Speaker 3: Henry show, they're in Good and the Merry dummy, the
- 15:49Speaker 3: merry figurine that my wife and I have, it looked
- 15:52Speaker 3: at me because I threw the w Jesus.
- 15:54Speaker 4: These are merely plastic. They don't they don't they represent
- 15:59Speaker 4: something but church. No, I mean that's not a that's
- 16:02Speaker 4: not a human being.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, this is your Nativity scene on your
- 16:06Speaker 2: front lawn, sir?
- 16:06Speaker 3: Right, yes, sir?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Is it made out of plastic?
- 16:09Speaker 3: There? There wouldn't well, they wouldn't, uh huh.
- 16:13Speaker 4: You know what it says in scriptures that people make
- 16:17Speaker 4: images of wood and adore them. That's an idol. And
- 16:21Speaker 4: you don't do that.
- 16:23Speaker 3: No, I don't. But I noticed that the Joseph dummy
- 16:27Speaker 3: and the Mary dummy looked at me as if I
- 16:30Speaker 3: was a piece of crown.
- 16:31Speaker 4: You know, you know full well they didn't.
- 16:33Speaker 3: You know, I know that they weren't doing it, But
- 16:36Speaker 3: that was the feeling I got.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Well, you were, yeah, you were feeling guilty for being angry.
- 16:42Speaker 2: So when you looked at the merry figurine, she was
- 16:44Speaker 2: looking at you, and you thought, oh, Mary hates me.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yes, and I know she hates me. No, I threw
- 16:50Speaker 3: your kid. I don't know her kid.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Mary doesn't hate anything.
- 16:55Speaker 3: What a mother? What you are? You a mother?
- 16:57Speaker 5: Dear?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Have you had? I was a mother?
- 16:59Speaker 4: Six?
- 17:00Speaker 3: Okay? If someone picked up one of your babies and
- 17:03Speaker 3: pitched it down the street, you would obviously be very angry.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Sir. That was wood. That's that was not a vital
- 17:11Speaker 4: human being. That's wood, and it has it has no feeling.
- 17:16Speaker 4: It's merely a representation. And you know full well in
- 17:20Speaker 4: your in your religion, and I know that you're not
- 17:25Speaker 4: supposed to you're not supposed to give that representation any
- 17:31Speaker 4: kind of of of how I say, you're not supposed
- 17:38Speaker 4: to very But I pitched the baby Jesus down the
- 17:43Speaker 4: street and busted off its head.
- 17:45Speaker 3: The merry dummy would would be angry if she would,
- 17:48Speaker 3: Wouldn't she know?
- 17:50Speaker 4: A dummy? That's a dummy. You just said the words
- 17:53Speaker 4: can't do anything.
- 17:55Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 17:57Speaker 3: There's something in the hallways, Poor sir. Why are you
- 18:02Speaker 3: laughing at me?
- 18:03Speaker 4: Because you're you're still.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Okay, it's the Mary. Wait a minute, the Mary dummies
