Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Just grabbed the mic, grab the mike.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Put that thing nice and close to them.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Lips A.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Welcome to another episode of Busts with the Boys our
- 0:10Speaker 3: spring tour Chevrolet. We got a shout out the boys
- 0:14Speaker 3: of Chevrolet. No free shotus to Chevrolet, specifically the Silverado EV.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Chevy is a trusted company that has been innovating for
- 0:20Speaker 3: the last one hundred years. Up to now, most electric
- 0:23Speaker 3: vehicles have been either too expensive, too small, and too
- 0:28Speaker 3: limited and capabilities for most people. Chevy is committed to
- 0:31Speaker 3: make an EV's available for all Americans. There is a
- 0:34Speaker 3: growing network of public charging stations stations and there are
- 0:39Speaker 3: over nineteen hundred certified Chevy EV dealerships. Chevy has convenient
- 0:43Speaker 3: ways to research and shop EV's online. EV's for everyone everywhere.
- 0:50Speaker 3: This is an absolute pleasure. We have head coach of Chaparral, Chaparral, right.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Chaparral coach Charlie Ragel was head coach Chapero, maybe the
- 0:58Speaker 2: most winningest coach in Chaparral history, but the.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Head coach of Chaparo when you were in school. That's
- 1:02Speaker 3: why this is important, right. We get to if anybody
- 1:05Speaker 3: who listened to Dave Seigler interview. You can check that
- 1:07Speaker 3: one out when we sent on the Raiders GM. This
- 1:10Speaker 3: is the same bloodline basically, not genetically, but you know
- 1:13Speaker 3: what I mean, I'm with you that Taylor came from.
- 1:15Speaker 3: So I assume this is gonna be a great storytelling
- 1:17Speaker 3: podcast between now two.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So just background, man, I was my junior year, my
- 1:21Speaker 2: freshman through junior year, I'm playing noose tackle and Chaparral
- 1:25Speaker 2: High School, Scottsdale. It's a lot of money in that school,
- 1:29Speaker 2: a lot of like a lot of resources at Chaparral.
- 1:32Speaker 2: They come up to Cave Creek and fucking donkey us now,
- 1:36Speaker 2: Trace Carrol, his dad was just a play guy I
- 1:39Speaker 2: played with for like one year on like Pop Warner
- 1:42Speaker 2: comes up to my dad. I was like, Hey, what
- 1:43Speaker 2: are you doing with Taylor? And I's like, what do
- 1:45Speaker 2: you mean? He's just trying to play football hopefully get
- 1:47Speaker 2: a scholarship. And he's like, I think you need to
- 1:48Speaker 2: have a meeting. So he goes and sit down with
- 1:50Speaker 2: Ragel and I don't know what happened to that meeting,
- 1:53Speaker 2: but I would love to hear that conversation you had.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Well, let's back up, because first of all, that was
- 1:57Speaker 4: junior year. We go up to Cactus Shadows, you know,
- 2:00Speaker 4: and it's up about a good twenty minute drive from
- 2:02Speaker 4: the Dale, and uh, we're playing Cave Creek and alls
- 2:06Speaker 4: I know is they've got this really big, good looking
- 2:10Speaker 4: Kui and they're playing him at nose tackle. The thing
- 2:13Speaker 4: I remember most about that game is that there was
- 2:16Speaker 4: a really bad cornerback. And this is great coaching right here,
- 2:21Speaker 4: I said, tomorrow, c's up in the box. Before the
- 2:23Speaker 4: game kicks off, I said, hey, Dave, Mike Cummings, we
- 2:26Speaker 4: had a really good receiver. I said, he's covering this guy.
- 2:29Speaker 4: You just throw it to this guy all night long.
- 2:33Speaker 4: And we went for twelve catches, two hundred and fifty yards,
- 2:36Speaker 4: four tugs, sixty points on the board. The de tackle
- 2:40Speaker 4: was a non factor. That was a non factor. I
- 2:44Speaker 4: literally I wasn't even a player. You would look at
- 2:46Speaker 4: and be like, we got a block picture.
- 2:47Speaker 1: He walked, was big, he.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Was long, good looking, and so fast forward to the
- 2:53Speaker 4: spring of oh wait, oh wait, right, yeah, oh wait,
- 2:59Speaker 4: and yeah, I guess I could say this now. I
- 3:02Speaker 4: had a breakfast with his dad, which is illegal, I suppose,
- 3:06Speaker 4: but what the hell, And there's gotta be a statute
- 3:10Speaker 4: of limitations on.
- 3:11Speaker 1: That doesn't there.
- 3:12Speaker 4: So we met and just talked about the potential. We
- 3:16Speaker 4: had a really good defensive end was Taylor's teammate, Craig
- 3:20Speaker 4: row At, And Craig was a four point zero student,
- 3:24Speaker 4: had every offer in the country as a junior. So
- 3:27Speaker 4: going to that spring, you knew that our place was
- 3:29Speaker 4: going to be packed with dudes coaches coming through. And
- 3:33Speaker 4: Taylor's dad knew that, and you know, he thought, man,
- 3:36Speaker 4: this is the opportunity for Taylor to to to get seen.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And now did you pitch him to move the offensive
- 3:41Speaker 1: line versus no tax?
- 3:42Speaker 4: Well, when I saw him, I was just like, man, look,
- 3:45Speaker 4: this guy's a no brainer offensive tackle. Like I mean,
- 3:48Speaker 4: you look at him, He's athletic, how he bins. It
- 3:50Speaker 4: was like, this is And at the time, our offensive
- 3:54Speaker 4: line coach had was in his early seventies, Ron Hibbeneck
- 3:58Speaker 4: was retired, had played at USC coach was a long
- 4:01Speaker 4: time offensive line coach for the Patriots way back in
- 4:04Speaker 4: the day. And so I'm just like, this makes so
- 4:07Speaker 4: much sense for this guy to play offensive line, and
- 4:10Speaker 4: and I just told his dad, if we can get
- 4:12Speaker 4: him there and he does what he needs to do.
- 4:15Speaker 4: He's gonna blow up. I hadn't seen the transcript yet.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Let me preface that, brother, it was bad. I don't
- 4:24Speaker 4: know that he went to school for the first two
- 4:26Speaker 4: and a half years. When I saw that thing, Man,
- 4:28Speaker 4: it was bad, bad from.
- 4:30Speaker 1: My my freshman year.
- 4:31Speaker 2: The first semester I failed three classes, and then my
- 4:34Speaker 2: second semester I failed four. So I failed seven classes
- 4:38Speaker 2: my freshman year of high school.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Yes, yes, as they say, yeah, the border and so
- 4:44Speaker 4: my man here was rocking into Chaptown with the one
- 4:47Speaker 4: six GPA. And uh but back then the NCAA right time.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Life's about timing, as we all know. And uh, back then,
- 4:55Speaker 4: you could replace as many classes as you wanted to.
- 4:58Speaker 4: There was no there was no rule on how many
- 5:00Speaker 4: classes as there is now. So I told him, man, hey,
- 5:04Speaker 4: it's time to go to work. We're gonna we're gonna
- 5:06Speaker 4: change that. We're gonna change the face of your landscape.
- 5:08Speaker 4: And uh, that's exactly what we did. A lot of
- 5:11Speaker 4: a lot of credit to a lot of people. And
- 5:13Speaker 4: you know, he left with the two point six GPA,
- 5:15Speaker 4: and uh uh there was probably forty plus Power five
- 5:19Speaker 4: Division I schools that came through that spring, and you know,
- 5:22Speaker 4: credit to Tony Dues.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys all know, dudes, he's out there. Dudes.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Dudes believed me when I told him, like, we're going
- 5:30Speaker 4: to get this dude right, Like, we will get this
- 5:32Speaker 4: guy qualified.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You just got to trust me on that.
- 5:34Speaker 4: And so Dues stayed because everybody came to see Craig
- 5:38Speaker 4: and obviously Craig was a hot commodity and a really
- 5:40Speaker 4: good player as well, but everybody was asking about Taylor,
- 5:44Speaker 4: you know, and then you show him the transcript, they're like,
- 5:46Speaker 4: good talk, coach. And so my man pounded some workout again,
- 5:51Speaker 4: a lot of a lot of resources and a lot
- 5:52Speaker 4: of help, and you know, a few months later, my
- 5:54Speaker 4: man is rocking at two six and he's on his
- 5:57Speaker 4: way to go blue.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a while. It was a while.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Like I told you a little bit about it, Like
- 6:02Speaker 2: we played those first two games, and that's like where
- 6:05Speaker 2: I got all my scholarship offers off. It is just
- 6:07Speaker 2: that I put those on film and then they went
- 6:09Speaker 2: and like he said, like a bunch of coaches would come,
- 6:11Speaker 2: and like Harball was at Stanford and he came, he
- 6:14Speaker 2: saw my transcript and literally laughed out loud. It was like,
- 6:16Speaker 2: there's literally nothing we can do here in left Like
- 6:18Speaker 2: Wisconsin did the same thing.
- 6:20Speaker 4: So here, here's a great story. You're gonna love this.
- 6:21Speaker 4: He comes with his dad to get registered for school.
- 6:26Speaker 4: You see this guy, really like walking across the campus
- 6:28Speaker 4: is the first time I really laid eyes on Mo
- 6:30Speaker 4: other than in the uniform in the game. I'm looking
- 6:33Speaker 4: at him offensive corder and we're kind of like in
- 6:35Speaker 4: an off back in a room and he's walking across
- 6:38Speaker 4: the campus and I'm just like, man, look at this dude,
- 6:42Speaker 4: Like that's a left tackle. So I tell tell Rod,
- 6:44Speaker 4: And again Rod's old school man, and we had had
- 6:46Speaker 4: a kid that had started at left tackle for is
- 6:48Speaker 4: really good high school player. Uh and Ethan Lewis. Ethan Lewis, Yes, okay, yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 4: I say Rod, we're gonna move Ethan to right tackle.
- 6:58Speaker 4: This is gonna be our left tackle.
- 7:00Speaker 1: And he was pissed. He fought me on it.
- 7:03Speaker 4: We've got a left tackle, No, man, this this is
- 7:05Speaker 4: this is a left tackle. And so he comes on
- 7:09Speaker 4: campus and he says, I'll never forget this. He says
- 7:12Speaker 4: to he goes, I just got one question for you,
- 7:14Speaker 4: he said, Coach, Like I don't even know if you're
- 7:16Speaker 4: gonna remember it. But he goes, when you guys played me,
- 7:20Speaker 4: I was playing the nose tackle. Did you have to
- 7:22Speaker 4: double and triple team? That's a tough look. Last questions
- 7:28Speaker 4: like that, I said, let me tell you something. We
- 7:31Speaker 4: had to create a whole game plan against you. I said,
- 7:34Speaker 4: we were doubling tripling. How one point we just wedged
- 7:37Speaker 4: the whole thing at your ass. We couldn't stop you.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Complete lie.
- 7:41Speaker 1: As I told you the front end of the story.
- 7:43Speaker 4: And he looks, as Dad, let's go get me signed up. Facts.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so funny how the Taylor.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Loan era started at Shoptown, USA and uh, and then
- 7:57Speaker 4: once he got on the field, man like, and I
- 7:59Speaker 4: love this guy because he's never forgot where he's.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Come from, you know what I mean.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And he's just a genuine dude, Like it's rare in
- 8:06Speaker 4: your life to coach someone of his ability, but just
- 8:10Speaker 4: he approaches life kind of how I see it. You know,
- 8:13Speaker 4: I got a real fiery personality, and it's either you know,
- 8:15Speaker 4: I'm either in fifth gear or un parked, you know
- 8:18Speaker 4: what I mean, And it's all in. And that's how
- 8:20Speaker 4: he approached it. On the field and off the field.
- 8:22Speaker 4: You know, he was an instant fan favorite. He was
- 8:26Speaker 4: an instant students. The students loved him, man. But it
- 8:30Speaker 4: was how he played the game with just a relentless
- 8:32Speaker 4: and I mean, you know, like the dude just played
- 8:35Speaker 4: balls to the wall and there's no substitute for that.
- 8:38Speaker 4: And obviously once he put the stuff on tape, it
- 8:41Speaker 4: was a rap.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And then once we.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Got the grades where they needed to be, everybody came
- 8:46Speaker 4: slinging those offers.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Well, was it basically like they saw the first two
- 8:50Speaker 3: games or whatever, and everybody's basically lined up, And then
- 8:52Speaker 3: it just came down to the transcript.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yes, I mean.
- 8:57Speaker 4: The transcer was so bad in the spring that people
- 9:00Speaker 4: were scared away from it, but once he put the
- 9:02Speaker 4: stuff on tape, it was too good for people not
- 9:05Speaker 4: to come back and check back in. And then they saw, oh, man,
- 9:09Speaker 4: he's making that progress. Yeah, you know, but then dues
- 9:12Speaker 4: had been dudes had stayed the course, man, and stayed
- 9:15Speaker 4: consistent with me. And then obviously with Taylor's dad's background
- 9:19Speaker 4: in the Big Ten and having the affinity for that,
- 9:21Speaker 4: obviously he could tell you the rest of that why
- 9:23Speaker 4: he shows Michigan. But Uh, it was everybody, man, everybody
- 9:26Speaker 4: and their mom wanted this dude. It's been and it's
- 9:30Speaker 4: been fun. Like to sit here and see all of
- 9:33Speaker 4: this man, and like it's it I trade. It's an
- 9:36Speaker 4: emotional for me because how much I love this dude,
- 9:39Speaker 4: but it's also just a testament to how hard he's
- 9:42Speaker 4: worked and just eat life.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Man, you never know. It's crazy. Yeah, man, does that
- 9:48Speaker 1: make you feel good? Yeah, it makes you feel good.
- 9:49Speaker 2: He's one of those when you take compliment, you just
- 9:50Speaker 2: got to kind of receive it and sit there and
- 9:52Speaker 2: take it because it is it's tough to get compliment.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Cool to hear though, because he's somebody who obviously was
- 9:57Speaker 3: was part of that big process for were you in
- 10:00Speaker 3: pivot in your life.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And it was I remember, like you remember, like you
- 10:03Speaker 2: look back in high school now and you realize, like
- 10:05Speaker 2: how not big of a deal you made it up
- 10:08Speaker 2: in your head because you were so zoomed in on
- 10:09Speaker 2: high school like we like, uh, Rigel was always always
- 10:12Speaker 2: good to me, man, Like I I didn't get in
- 10:15Speaker 2: like by the time I got to like my senior year,
- 10:17Speaker 2: I wasn't getting in trouble like I was in the beginning.
- 10:19Speaker 2: But like I could have done pretty much whatever the
- 10:21Speaker 2: fuck I want, and he had my back and I
- 10:23Speaker 2: but we had one A couple of times we played
- 10:25Speaker 2: to worrow and uh, I fucking do. It was like
- 10:28Speaker 2: going into half, it was like seven zero and Dwayne
- 10:31Speaker 2: Garrett are running back. Who you met Dwayne at dinner? Uh?
- 10:34Speaker 2: Last last fall. He makes this diving catch in the
- 10:37Speaker 2: back of the end zone and Dwayne can't fucking catch.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You can literally throw it to him ten times, you know,
- 10:41Speaker 2: drop at six of them, just straight up. He makes
- 10:44Speaker 2: this in like crazy catch. I get a face mask call,
- 10:47Speaker 2: it gets called back. We end up living the game.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I remember you guys talked about it that we.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Were seven at half.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and four had like eight dudes going d one.
- 10:56Speaker 4: They had that rivalries. Master's ten thousand people there. It's unbelieved. Well,
- 11:00Speaker 4: me and the coach got a great food feud going
- 11:02Speaker 4: to like it's a it's everything was build up to be,
- 11:05Speaker 4: and we score. It's going to be seven to seven.
- 11:07Speaker 4: We're gonna go on the half tide, and we just
- 11:10Speaker 4: got lost all the momentum.
- 11:11Speaker 1: For us right there.
- 11:12Speaker 4: You know, he'll shut the face masks, but my man
- 11:14Speaker 4: was was doing blindside before there was blindside. He was
- 11:17Speaker 4: putting kids. We're out of patche Junction one night, all right,
- 11:19Speaker 4: on a Friday night. My guy's putting dudes on roller
- 11:22Speaker 4: skates and putting them out in the tumbleweeds, I mean
- 11:24Speaker 4: way out. And the thing was is this guy was
- 11:27Speaker 4: not shy about sharing his opinion with the officials, which
- 11:30Speaker 4: as a.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Coach, you know that's obviously not what I want. Yeah,
- 11:33Speaker 1: And so like the coach throws a flag.
- 11:36Speaker 4: He's got this literally dude on the track, I mean,
- 11:38Speaker 4: and the coach the ref comes to me and says, look, man,
- 11:41Speaker 4: that's just unnecessary rough as he's got this kid fifty
- 11:43Speaker 4: yards down the field.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And I said, well, what do you mean? What do
- 11:45Speaker 1: you want me to do?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Man?
- 11:46Speaker 4: Like, I can't tell my guys stop blocking him. That's
- 11:48Speaker 4: not what we're preaching this program. So honestly, you know,
- 11:51Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the fifteen. And so he comes, get
- 11:54Speaker 4: his ass off the field. I got to talk to
- 11:56Speaker 4: him and bring him over there. He comes the official
- 11:58Speaker 4: Do you remember that? I remember, I remember excessive blocking
- 12:02Speaker 4: and reaching in his pocket.
- 12:03Speaker 1: He's like, are you getting paid for this? To the
- 12:06Speaker 1: rest throws another flat and that's What I loved about him, though, man.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Is the dude was just he he had that passion
- 12:16Speaker 4: and that intensity that made him a lead And that's
- 12:19Speaker 4: that's what it was like. He is obviously physically gifted.
- 12:22Speaker 4: He could run, he could bend with with his length,
- 12:25Speaker 4: which is rare. But it was the mentality and the
- 12:28Speaker 4: passion that he brought to the field every day and
- 12:31Speaker 4: off the field too, that that has gotten him where
- 12:34Speaker 4: we are today. It was a cool deal, man, Yes,
- 12:37Speaker 4: bring bring him back to ASTU. Like you've been in
- 12:39Speaker 4: a lot of places. You're you went to U of A,
- 12:41Speaker 4: went over to cal for a while right five years,
- 12:44Speaker 4: and and then Idaho State. Yeah, it was just a
- 12:47Speaker 4: just a nice cup of coffee as a.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Head coach twelve months.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, and then obviously you know, bringing
- 12:53Speaker 4: it all back with with coach Ziggler, you know, and
- 12:55Speaker 4: coach I coached coach Dillingham that first year. So he
- 12:59Speaker 4: came my second year. That first year, Kenny was a
- 13:02Speaker 4: senior and got hurt and was going to hang up
- 13:05Speaker 4: the cleats, and so I got him, you know, I
- 13:07Speaker 4: just he was a smart young man. I just said, hey, man,
- 13:09Speaker 4: we gotta get this guy into some coaching, you know,
- 13:12Speaker 4: and and uh, that's how the process of his journey began.
- 13:15Speaker 4: And you know, here we are now back here full
- 13:18Speaker 4: circle in uh in Tempe, working working for for Kenny Man.
- 13:22Speaker 4: It's uh and sitting here doing a podcast with you guys,
- 13:24Speaker 4: it's it's pretty wild.
- 13:26Speaker 1: So you were a senior when Coach d was about
- 13:29Speaker 1: to come in.
- 13:30Speaker 4: He so, Uh, Coach D was a senior. He was
- 13:33Speaker 4: at still at Cactus Shadows.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and so my junior I transferred in spring break,
- 13:39Speaker 2: like Cat Shows was going on spring break. Chaperon was
- 13:41Speaker 2: off spring break, and I just took that weekend and
- 13:43Speaker 2: then went to the new school. Yeah, and so their
- 13:45Speaker 2: season was already done. He was I didn't even know
- 13:47Speaker 2: coach Dellingham at all because he was a senior, but
- 13:51Speaker 2: you know, he he was hurt, couldn't play. I got
- 13:54Speaker 2: this really sharp kid. His dad was a very intelligent
- 13:57Speaker 2: lawyer that was on our booster club. I got to
- 13:59Speaker 2: know his dad and Kenny had come off some knee
- 14:01Speaker 2: injuries and just i'd got to really build a relationship
- 14:04Speaker 2: with Kenny. I'm like, man, this kid's pretty sharp. And
- 14:06Speaker 2: I said, what are you going to do?
- 14:07Speaker 1: Man?
- 14:07Speaker 4: And He's like I think I'm just gonna go to issue,
- 14:09Speaker 4: probably a lawyer like my dad. And I was like, well,
- 14:12Speaker 4: I don't really give a ship what you what you
- 14:13Speaker 4: can I say that on here?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah everything up here?
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:19Speaker 4: Uh. Anyway, so uh, I said, you know, I don't
- 14:22Speaker 4: really care what you do, you know, in terms of
- 14:25Speaker 4: your career, but I want you to come back here
- 14:26Speaker 4: and coach. And that's how the Kenny d train started
- 14:30Speaker 4: rolling out of Shaptown and uh. And then my man
- 14:33Speaker 4: joined the crew that spring after the spring break, and
- 14:36Speaker 4: you know, here we are, rest is history.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Well what did you see in?
- 14:39Speaker 4: Uh?
- 14:40Speaker 1: I was gonna say, Kenny coach, Coach Dillingham. Yeah, you
- 14:42Speaker 1: know what.
- 14:42Speaker 4: The thing that I say about about Coach Dillingham that
- 14:45Speaker 4: that is the most impressive is he's always been driven,
- 14:48Speaker 4: even at that young of age.
- 14:50Speaker 1: You know.
- 14:50Speaker 4: I tell the story that we were sitting around one
- 14:52Speaker 4: time and we were in a staff meeting and he's
- 14:54Speaker 4: the young new kid, eighteen years old, and he says, uh,
- 14:58Speaker 4: we were talking about why people do this, and I
- 15:00Speaker 4: can't remember what the particular situation was, and he just
- 15:01Speaker 4: pops about of nowhere and just says, you know, it
- 15:03Speaker 4: really comes down to one thing, Coach Rigel, and I said, well,
- 15:06Speaker 4: what's that He's got all's of his life life principles
- 15:09Speaker 4: is the.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Juice worth the squeeze.
- 15:11Speaker 4: And I looked at this guy and I'm like pretty perceptive,
- 15:14Speaker 4: especially in what we were talking about, and that dude
- 15:17Speaker 4: was driven. Like from that point on that that quote
- 15:20Speaker 4: stayed with me for whatever reason, and then I just
- 15:23Speaker 4: watched him stay focused to what he wanted to do
- 15:26Speaker 4: and achieve his goals and to get here at at
- 15:28Speaker 4: the age of thirty two years old and be where
- 15:31Speaker 4: he's at. Man, that that that takes the resolve. That's
- 15:34Speaker 4: you know, young people, and you guys are young man,
- 15:36Speaker 4: it's hard to stay that course with the temptations and
- 15:39Speaker 4: the things that come with the success. To stay driven
- 15:41Speaker 4: and in that goal oriented tells you a lot.
- 15:44Speaker 1: About what he is. I oh, really do you know?
- 15:50Speaker 1: I just you can just tell by listening. You're the
- 15:52Speaker 1: speech giver. Brother.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I told you before we've walked in here like this
- 15:56Speaker 2: would get it seems like the fucking I got to
- 15:59Speaker 2: know one more thing before we go theter When you're
- 16:01Speaker 2: playing Moraine in the first game senior year and you
- 16:04Speaker 2: gave a speech about your dog.
- 16:05Speaker 4: You're throwing the ball, the ball, the dog dies. Is
- 16:09Speaker 4: that a real story that really happened. No shit, a
- 16:12Speaker 4: dog was hardy man, purebred lab. My wife had it
- 16:14Speaker 4: before we got together. We're out labor day weekend. We'd
- 16:17Speaker 4: come from practice and come home. It's midday. Took the
- 16:20Speaker 4: dog out to the park, was throwing the ball and
- 16:23Speaker 4: the dog collapsed. Uh, you just collapsed.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Now, how are you? How are you funneling that into
- 16:28Speaker 1: a pre game speed.
- 16:29Speaker 4: No matter what you do in life, man, you do
- 16:31Speaker 4: it till you till the wheels come off. Like you've
- 16:33Speaker 4: got to be so ingrained in the passion and in
- 16:35Speaker 4: the process you run till an end. It's like you
- 16:38Speaker 4: run till the end. Man, there's no there's no limit.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Like it's you got to be all in or all out,
- 16:43Speaker 4: and that's the only way that you really achieve greatness.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Most people will never understand that. Hey, you gety, he's
- 16:48Speaker 1: got the fucking juice.
- 16:50Speaker 4: So I'm gonna come to nash Vegas, Nashville and sit
- 16:53Speaker 4: on the bus at some point.
