- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, share, and embrace the power of influence in your life.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everybody, Brian Smith here with the IM team series and your daily influence and it is the last day of 2025 and it has been a crazy, crazy year.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: This week I have been opining about a few topics.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: The last one that I did was on having some reflection of, you know, the past year and using that to move you into 2026.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: What comes after that is, you know, hopefully letting go of what no longer serves you or your area of influence in a positive and responsible way.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it's really not about adding new resolutions and it's about releasing and allowing yourself to move into your influence in a more intentional way.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know,
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Carrying with you, unresolved habits or assumptions, any emotional weight that you're dragging with you, old reactions that revisit often.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: These all limit how you're going to show up intentionally each day.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: So letting go isn't really, it's not a failure.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: it's an improvement.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's discernment of what's important in your life that can maintain positivity and responsibility within whatever area of influence you find yourself.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: You also find that what you carry forward with you shapes how you influence yourself and others.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: And that's really important as we move into new opportunities for improvement for ourselves, which
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, really new years has a lot of people setting this time to think about these types of influential opportunities we have and, you know, influence never resets.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Does it reset it midnight?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't reset at new years.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: Does it reset in our birthday?
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: But responsibility does responsibility can be reset at any time.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: And we have an opportunity to use this time to reset our understanding of what that means for each of us.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: and reset some things to get us in a more positive mindset.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Influence is constant.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't wait for a calendar.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: New Year's Eve is just symbolic, but symbols often matter to us, especially as humans.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: These moments that allow us, these reset times, they allow us to think about ownership, accountability, awareness.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: And we can ask ourselves, and those around us in our areas of influence,
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: What influence are we responsible for?
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: And what do I need to do to be more intentional?
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: How can I show up better?
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And if we don't know, ask the people around you.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: get feedback from those people that potentially can really help you to be your best self and show up more positively and responsibility in a consistent way.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: New Year's Eve is allowed by design, so you know, choose intention over that noise.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Leadership isn't supposed to be
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: It requires clarity and it requires commitment.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't need a full plan to get these things done.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: The plan should be to show up and be intentional.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be clear why you're showing up and have a willingness to start where it is the most comfortable for you and to put one foot in front of the other.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Those small steps, those small milestones can add up to very big things, especially when you engage yourself in the most possible positive and
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: responsible way.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: So look, remember that intentional influence can begin and should begin quietly.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: And to get there, you need to show up first.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: You need to listen a lot.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to yourself, listen to your surroundings.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: But remember that tonight.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: isn't about who you promise to become, it's about who you choose to be responsible for, starting with self, and starting now.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: So as we begin and move into these new time opportunities for everything that we've
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: learn and you will see that the objectives and the goals that you're setting for yourself will come to light and we'll start to manifest and be real in your areas of influence.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be on a safe New Year's Eve.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: I look forward to talking to you tomorrow as we start this first day of 2026 together.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Have a great day.
