Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: You get those accolades for good job on doing all of the things.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: And actually, that's not really helpful when you're an entrepreneur.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, of course, it's good to get the things done, but it's actually even more helpful to really deeply focus on the thing that's going to move the needle the most as opposed to like staying busy and filling your eight-hour day.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: I was terrified of charging multiple thousands of dollars for working with me.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: And I was very much like attached to what I had learned.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: And you have definitely been a great support, pulling me away from that and being like, okay, Leah, like you have all of this wisdom inside of you.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: And like it's you, it's your special medicine that you know is helping the people.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: It's not so much about the tools that you learned or all of the knowledge that you gained.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: It's you.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: And it's okay to trust who you are.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: My name is Elise Bassine, spiritual mentor, breathwork practitioner, and owner and CEO of Elise Breeds.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are, and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising consciousness and creating a new way of living on this earth.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Get ready to go deep.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Now let's dive in.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: So this week I have a really great episode for you.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: I loved, loved, loved recording this episode.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: So I have with me my client, Dr.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Leah Taylor, and we're talking about her journey with me inside private work.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And she was in all of my programs because when you work with me privately, you also have access to the mothership, which is all of my programs and masterclasses.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: So Leah was really immersed in my teachings and in my world.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: And she had a really powerful transformation, a really powerful experience.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: You know, we can put the tangible results at the forefront, right?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Because it's really important.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Her goals were to start creating 10K months and to leave her full-time job.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: And she did that inside of this container only in six months.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: And this is a really important piece for those of you that have a new business or want to start a business and want to leave your job.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Pretty much everyone who comes through the metamorphosis, which is always part of when you work with me in most capacities, unless you're just doing like another program or something.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: If you're inside the mothership, if you're if you work with me privately, you will have access to the metamorphosis because I believe it's so incredibly important to disentangle yourself from programming and family and ancestral trauma.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And usually everyone who goes through it who wants to ends up leaving their job.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: So Leah was no exception to that rule.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: And it's funny because a lot of times it happens involuntarily, meaning, like, and I've had people who decide to leave their job and they make that decision and they leave.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: But then I've also had a lot of people who the universe ends up pushing them out.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: And that's what happened with Leah.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: It was just such a magical experience because it just ended up that her job situation shifted and it was no longer happening anymore.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: But it was also what she wanted and what her intention was.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: So it's just really cool how the universe shows up in very mysterious ways to facilitate and support the vision that we have.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: And because you have a vision for yourself, it's meant to happen, like your higher self showing you what's next, what's available to you.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And Leah really brought that to life.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And we have a conversation about her work and her journey.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And, you know, one of the things that I loved about working with her is really helping her to go super deep into the work that she's meant to bring forward and what it's meant to look like and how she can bring it to the world through her channel.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: And, you know, really going beyond what her skill set is, what her training is, and really going deep into what her unique medicine is that is meant to come through her.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And that's really what I love doing with people.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna love this conversation.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: So just a couple of quick things here.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Don't forget to rate and review the show, and we will send you a$250 credit that you can apply anywhere in my world.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Also, we have the mothership, my membership, which includes all of my programs and masterclasses.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: It includes a Telegram chat, it includes a breathwork session live being taught every month and a QA call with me.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: This is such high value.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And, you know, all of the programs and masterclasses and all of my work really inside the mothership is really directed towards your spiritual evolution.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And if you have a business, this is such a powerful thing for you to do because all of the programs in here address the things that come up for you when you start a business.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And if you don't have a business yet, but you want to start one, it's also the perfect place for you because I give you the tools to address these things.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Because what so many people don't understand is starting a business that is about you and your work and a personal brand is very different than starting any other kind of business because ancestral trauma will come up, past life trauma, familial programming, all of your fears, all of your doubts, all of your worries, imposter syndrome, all of the things, right?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: We all deal with them.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: All of my programs are created to address these things.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: So it's just such a great resource if you have a business or you're looking to start one or you're even thinking about this might be for me.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Or if you just are wanting to evolve spiritually and infuse spiritual principles into your life so that your life becomes world better, it's a great place to be.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: So I am gonna put the link.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: So what I'm doing for the mothership is right now the pricing is still at kind of like the early bird rate.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I haven't changed it yet, and I'm gonna be changing it at the end of the month.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: So until the end of February, you can still join the mothership for only$555 a month, which is an insane value considering all of the programs that you get and considering the access you get to me, the live breathwork, the QA, like all of it is insane value.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: So if you are interested in coming into the mothership, reach out to me or click the link that we have below and you can get all of the information about it.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: And if you have questions, please reach out.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: I'd love to chat with you about it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: But yeah, that's going on right now.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: And then other than that, we have the certification.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: I am accepting people into the certification until the end of the month.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And we just had a few new signups, which was so exciting.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: This really is, you guys have heard me talk about it.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: I'm not even gonna go into it right now because it's so much.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: But if you are a coach or a healer and you are wanting to become known for your results, you're wanting to learn a process that creates tangible results that you become known for and that you can infuse your own magic into, this is for you.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: So if you have questions about the certification, reach out to me.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: I'd love to chat with you about it.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Like I said, you have until the end of the month to come in.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: And then I won't be allowing anyone else in until we start again in February of 2025.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: So this is the only time that you're able to come in this year.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: There is an extended payment plan.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: If you know you're meant to do this, I will work with you for the payments because I truly believe that everybody who feels drawn to this is meant to do it.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, it is kind of like an educational thing where I'm okay if we do an extended payment plan, it's different than a program or something else because I look at it more as like an investment in your education, a degree.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: I look at it as like a master's degree in a lot of ways.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it's a different vibe for me.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And I'm willing to do an extended payment plan in a way that I don't do for my other programs.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: So that is that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: I will leave it there.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Enjoy the episode with Leah.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: I'm sending you so much love, and I will talk to you soon.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Hi, everyone.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the show.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: So I'm super excited about today's guest.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: I have Dr.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Leah Taylor with me, and she is a client and also just an incredible human being.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna allow her to introduce herself to you.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: So welcome to the show, Leah.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much, Elise.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: So my business name is Dr.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Leah Taylor, although you can definitely call me Leah.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: I am an integrative mental health specialist and an embodiment mentor.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: And I love to help high-achieving spiritual women who are tired of the daily grind and the toll that it's taking on their mental, emotional, and physical health, learn how to create more ease, joy, and flow in their lives.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Yay! Well, I'm excited to dive in with you, and your work is amazing.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: And feels like recently there's just been all this stuff opening up, and it's super exciting, and we'll get into it, but let's just kind of start at the beginning of like our journey together.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: So, what was it that kind of drew you into working with me initially?
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Well, I love both your spiritual and educational scientific background.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: You know, it's kind of the same for me.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: It's like, yes, I have my master's and my PhD, but I'm also a very spiritual woman and I love to kind of straddle both of those worlds.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Like I really love to geek out on research, but I also love to really like tune into my own channeled guidance.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: And I felt like you really held both of those.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: I also worked briefly as a school counselor, so I could relate to that with you.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: My work is very trauma-informed, so I really also loved that you have that aspect of your work too.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: So it just felt really aligned, and I felt like you were somebody who was like ahead of me on the entrepreneurial journey, but like I could really relate to.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: Totally.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: And I feel like sometimes you just kind of know the people that you're meant to work with, you know.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: That's kind of how it's been for me along the way, too, where I just know and I don't even know how I know.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's just their voice or like something they say just like resonates.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: And and I think that's how it happens.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: And I it's funny because I think so many people overthink it or they overthink the process.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: And I know some people make decisions differently than others, but for me, it's always just been like a knowing of the resonance with somebody's energy.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: So let's kind of talk about just like the journey of when we first started out, what was it that you really were wanting to shift and what was it that you were wanting to create?
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Gosh, it's been such a journey in those six months.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: There's so many like multidimensional like layers to it.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: It's funny because it's so nonlinear.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: And for me, definitely, there was a lot of things that I needed to let go of before I could really be aligned with what it was that I was calling in.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Thank you for helping to remind me too what my goal was when we started working together, which was to have signed on my first private client.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: I came in to entrepreneurial work where I was working a full-time job.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: I really loved working with groups.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: I just had a lot more experience working with groups.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: So I put had put together some group programs, which were fun, but they weren't at a high price point.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: I was really afraid of like charging really what I was worth.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: And so that was something that I wanted to step into.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: And I felt like there was some releasing and just like letting go that needed to happen and coming more and more into my power.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: So that was what I desired and signing on my first client and really starting to make consistent$10,000 months.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Which both of those things just happen.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: But we'll get into that in a minute.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: First, I want to go back though, because this is a really important piece.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And I want to like spend some time and dig in here.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Cause a lot of times people will sign on to work with somebody or sign on for a container to grow their business, right?
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: And it's like, okay, we're going to grow your business.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: We're going to get from like A to B to C to D in this amount of time.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: But as you mentioned, what you end up finding out is there's a lot of other work that needs to be done before we get to the point of growing our business.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: And you said it exactly.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: You were like, there are a lot of things I needed to let go of.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: So let's dive into that a little bit because I think this is going to be really helpful for people to understand and just what the journey can look like or what it ends up looking like versus what we think it should look like.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: So, what were some of the things that you came up against that you realized you had to let go of and what did that look like for you?
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, it was really interesting when we started working together, which we did, I think it was what, a four-month package.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you did that like new client package with me, which I think was like three months.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: And so then there was a period of maybe like two weeks where I was traveling in between us starting this more focused six-month package.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: And during that time, I had so many experiences that like I didn't even orchestrate, but that kind of the universe orchestrated for me where it was really about reclaiming my power.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: So I feel like I kind of put out this call to the universe that like I wanted to be the most powerful version of myself.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: And right in the beginning of our work together, there were two main experiences that happened to me where it was like such a healing and a just pulling back in my own power.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: And then another one that happened in November again during our time together.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: And I feel like those three experiences were really important in landing me where I am.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: So when you say bringing you into your power, like what did that look like?
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Or how did you realize that you like weren't in your power?
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: And then how did you come into it?
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: Like, what was that experience?
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And then also just in the context of our work, too, because I know you ended up being in a lot of my different programs, and sometimes it can be hard to know like what was creating what at times, but if you can relate it to that too.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: So about being in my power, I mean, I think the ways that were showing me that I was not in my power was first of all, feeling like I could charge what I was truly worth.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: I was terrified of charging multiple thousands of dollars for working with me.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Like I was just so used to working for somebody else, relying on somebody else as my source of income.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: And I was very much like attached to what I had learned because I had spent a lot of years in graduate school learning what I learned.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: And you have definitely been a great support, pulling me away from that and being like, okay, Leah, like you have all of this wisdom inside of you, and like it's you, it's your special medicine that you know is helping the people.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: It's not so much about the tools that you learned or all of the knowledge that you gained, it's you.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: And it's okay to trust who you are and what you're bringing to the table, and like you have such special magic that you're here to create in this life.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: And I feel like there was a big teasing me away from this, like, but, but, but, but, and like I'm clenching my fist here for anybody who can't see.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: So that was really helpful.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: But it was that both the calling in my power, just from some people in my past that I had given it away to, which were male energies, like for me, it was a really reclaiming of my masculine energy that I had given away to other people that then allowed me to be in my whole feminine, too, but also like teasing me away from my grip on hiding behind like what I had learned and all of my tools that I had spent a really long time learning and practicing.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: And you were really helpful in that.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: So I wanna like spend some time on this too, because I think a lot of people experience this.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: And like, I just want to say to start out, it's not that any of that stuff is wrong or bad, and it's not like it was a waste of time learning it or it doesn't mean anything.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: But you know, what really brings you into this new depth in your business and what you do is really about you and your ability to channel the medicine that's meant to come through you.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't mean that that stuff doesn't come into play or you know, your background doesn't come into play.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: And like for me, for example, like now that I look back on all of my experience working with traumatized children, that very much informs my certification and like the way that I teach people how to view trauma.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Like I needed to have those experiences, right?
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: And same for you.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: So it's not about that that is wrong.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: It's just about evolving past it and being okay with that.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Cause I think what happens too for people, and especially having your PhD and investing so much time and energy into getting this degree, it's like then, like you said, you were like gripping your hands, like you're holding on tight to it, like this is who I am.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: And I think that it was a process of like being like, it's okay for you to evolve past this and step into this much more powerful version of you that like, yes, you have this knowledge and information, but you're so much more than just this knowledge and information.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was really an unlearning of like the whole academia world that I had been a part of for so long, but also knew that I never wanted to live in.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, I didn't get my PhD to become a professor.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: I got my PhD because I was really interested in my own personal growth and I knew and I trusted my path, it was what I was supposed to do to help other people.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: It always adds something, right?
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: And I feel like when you have a business, there's always a time where it behooves you or it benefits you to have that behind you, right?
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Especially when you do things like I'm sure at some point you're gonna have a certification program.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: And like for me, being someone who like certifies people in something, like you want to be able to say, I have this accolade, right?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: It's totally something that's important.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: But now we're really talking about Leah and what Leah does.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: So I think that was a huge piece of it too.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: And then the other piece that I'm remembering too is some of the work that we did in the metamorphosis around just like evolving past your mother.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: And I know this comes up for a lot of people, like fear that you are going to be like your mother or you are like your mother.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: And I know that comes up for all of us.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: And it's something that, you know, sometimes we can live even in reaction to if we're not aware of it.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: So, how did this come up for you?
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: And then how did you shift it?
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: Specifically with my mom, there were a couple of things.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: One is, and I I still have to like catch myself with this, and actually we haven't talked about this as much, but my mom's an extremely spiritual person, and she was a life coach for a brief period of time.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: And for whatever reason, my relationship with my mom is like when my mom does something, I'm like, oh no, I don't want to do that.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Like, I kind of push away from it, you know.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: But yet she is the one that has imparted the most spiritual wisdom inside of me.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, she sent me off to college with my own magic wand.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: She sent me to a shaman to have like a soul retrieval before I left.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, she really wanted to make sure that I was going off on my own with like as wholly intact as possible with all the tools that I could possibly.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: She sent me with crystals and all the things.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: That's so cool.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: It it is cool.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: And at the same time, I was kind of like hiding it because I didn't want to be like my mom.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: I wanted to be my own person.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: And even in the wisdom that she, I was just talking to her today, and she's sharing with me the story of something that she like learned the same insight, just in a different way.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh yeah, mom, you know, like I kind of just like dismiss it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: I don't know what this whole, this whole dynamic between the two of us is, but it's almost like I want to be distinct and different from her.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: So there's definitely been that.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: But then there's also the piece that I've talked about a little bit more where I feel like my mom has shared a lot of things that she wants to create that there's something blocking.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: And what you actually helped to remind me of in our last call was that that was a great opportunity for me to realize that it's not about her and my not wanting to be like her or even being like annoyed with her.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: And honestly, I don't feel annoyed with her in that way, but I get annoyed with myself.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: And I get to the point where, and this is what you pointed out, that was really helpful was that I'm judging myself as if I am not as far along as I want to be.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: You know, I can look at myself and I can say, Oh, Leah, you should have already done that or you should have already done this.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: And maybe that's my mom saying that to herself too.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: And then I'm just a mirror of that, you know, where it's like I can feel the same thing in myself.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: But that was really helpful because that has definitely been part of my journey too, is to not look at myself as if there's something wrong with me that needs to be fixed, and to not look at myself as if I'm in the wrong place or things aren't working, as I had a tendency, especially in the beginning of our work, to do because I am very good at like figuring things out and you know, analyzing the problem and then figuring out how to fix it and how to move past it.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: And that's definitely been something that you've really taught me.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: It's like there's nothing wrong.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: If there's nothing wrong, how can you open up to this like more expansive perspective to see that everything is working for you?
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you brought this up because I think this is something that is so easy to get kind of stuck in in the personal growth and personal development space.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: And especially as people who desire to, you know, have more and to grow and to evolve, it can be so easy to kind of get stuck in like trying to figure out what you need to fix so that you can get where you're going faster.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: And that's something that I think it actually doesn't work, right?
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: And we talk about this all the time.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: It actually doesn't work because then you just continue to look for what's wrong with you and you continue to move from a place of fixing and moving from a place of assuming there's something wrong with you when there's not, instead of just being in the process and enjoying the process and allowing it to unfold in the way that it's meant to.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: And I think that you've really kind of embraced that, especially in the last like month or so, because there's been all of these things that have opened up.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: And I know that it's been like, whoa, these are the things that I've been manifesting and like here they are.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: So before we get to that though, is there anything else you would say that just going back to the like what I had to let go of conversation?
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Cause I do think this is really important for people to because it it is an identity shift, right?
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: And even with what we were talking about with the educational kind of like doctor identity to the Leah identity, right?
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: You do have to shift the way that you're looking at yourself and you do have to let go of certain things.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: So is there anything else that stands out to you as like just an identity shift or something you had to let go of?
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, the one thing that is standing out to me that I have to be careful to catch myself with is actually going from working a job to being an entrepreneur, and that is being really good at like getting a lot of tasks done, and that's like kind of what you're congratulated for.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: That's what you get those accolades for.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: Good job on doing all of those things.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: And actually, that's not really helpful when you're an entrepreneur.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, of course, it's good to get the things done, but it's actually even more helpful to really deeply focus on the thing that's gonna move the needle the most, as opposed to like staying busy and filling your eight-hour day doing all of these things.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: It's like, no, that's gonna just keep you busy.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: And I also learned really from my father that uh I was rewarded for like doing a lot of things and to continue to stay busy and like if I'm busy, then I'm worthy.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: And so that's also been something that I have worked through with the metamorphosis and letting that go, you know, not attaching my worth to my busyness.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: That's huge.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: It really is.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I find myself doing that sometimes too, like, even though I know, right?
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's hard to like let go of that working mindset, you know, and especially like as a mom, too, when you have like certain hours where your kids aren't there, you still kind of treat it as like this work day sometimes, but it really takes such a paradigm shift to realize that like it's not actually about the doing.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: And of course, like you said, yes, there's things that you want to do, but so much of it too is about the beingness and who you're being in all of these moments, even though we can say we understand it intellectually, it's still challenging to put into practice.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: So, is there anything you want to share about that piece, like the being piece?
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, when you said that, that definitely was something that really stood out to me.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, I don't remember what program you shared it in, but you know, it's like it's more important to who you're being than it is in what you're doing.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: And I really know that to be true, but it was so important to hear that from you because, like for me, who really helps people with their health, it's like it doesn't matter if you're going for a walk every day or you're doing your meditation every day, if you're doing it in a way that's like, oh, I gotta get this done and feeling stressful and just like a thing that you have to cross off your list, it's not actually being beneficial to you.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: You're doing it because you want to feel that momentum or to feel that peace or to feel that like whatever it is.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: So, why are you doing the thing?
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: How do you want to feel by doing the thing?
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: And then how can you actually just like connect to that way of feeling, that way of being in whatever it is that you're doing?
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: You know, it's not even about the thing that you're doing.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: I always say like nothing is inherently right or wrong, it's more about the intention behind it versus anything.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: So I do completely agree with that.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: One of the things that I really love about working with you is I really loved uncovering these deeper layers of your work and watching like your work kind of develop.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: That to me was so much fun.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about that a little bit because I know that's fun for you to talk about too, obviously.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: You know, because when you came to me, you were talking about mindfulness and health and these things that were more like the doctor health paradigm.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, we really went so deep to really access like the truth of your work and your magic and like allowing that to be at the forefront now of what you're doing.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about that a little bit and like what that process was for you and what your work has developed into now.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's been really helpful to just have somebody there with me on a consistent basis to like dig me deeper because just of all of my training and like you need to do things this way, and this is what you were taught.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: And I'm really good at using those tools and I've gotten people a lot of great results, but it's been working in the medical model, which is something that I really want to detach myself from because the medical model is always focused on the problem, the diagnosis, what's wrong, the symptoms, how can we, and it's really just about masking the symptoms, putting a band-aid on the symptom and helping a person just like get by and cope.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: But it's not about fully healing, it's not about elevation.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: And it's really interesting because I have these things that like come to me, like my tagline like feel, heal, elevate.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: It's like these things will come to me and I'll know that they're important, but I haven't necessarily like really connected with the deeper feeling and the deeper like meaning of them.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: And even before, like five years ago, I had this Facebook group called Discover Your Medicine, which still is aligned with the medical model with the whole medicine piece.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: But for me, the discover your medicine was like you finding what works for you, and also for me, medicine is anything that helps or heals.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: So my whole mission was to help people discover medicine that didn't come from a pill, whatever it is, and it's really about that following the joy because your joy, your pleasure, that is your gauge of what that medicine is.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Because also in the moving the focus away from stress, from anxiety, from depression, all of the words that we hear everybody talking about, you know, it's really interesting.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: We know this in manifestation.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: It's like you don't focus on what you don't want because that's what you're gonna bring more of.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: But yet in the medical model, it's all about the disease, the diagnosis that we're focused on, the stress, the anxiety, the depression, whatever it is.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: What I know to be true in my life and in my professional life is that actually you don't even need to worry about that when you can turn up the volume on the joy, on the pleasure, on what feels really good, which we're really taught not to do because that's hedonistic, right?
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: That's something bad is gonna happen if you're only focused on that joy and that pleasure.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: But, you know, if you do it in a safe way in a container with another person, it's like honestly, if you just use it as an experiment with yourself, nothing bad is gonna happen.
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: It's only gonna bring good results.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: But, you know, by turning up that volume on the pleasure, on the joy, by really prioritizing those things in a person's life, then it will automatically decrease the other because pleasure is the antidote to stress.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: Totally.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: And the other thing that is occurring to me too, when you're talking about going beyond the medical model, is like the medical model is so focused on they look at it as it's your responsibility as the practitioner to get the person results.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: And it's like that's totally like has the person give their power away.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: And then also with the medical model, too, it's so much about time for money.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: Like, okay, you're gonna get paid this amount of money for this amount of time.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: So there's like, I feel like there were so many things that you were really being called to elevate beyond, where it was like not just the way you were working with people, but just the way that you were thinking about it too.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: And then getting really comfortable, not necessarily exchanging time for money, right?
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: So you could really elevate beyond that piece as well.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: That was definitely something that I needed to move beyond.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: And absolutely, you know my passion and then empowering other people and people really being able to connect with their own inner wisdom, knowing that they can be their own guide, that they can be their own expert, that you know, there are certain things that need to happen before a person can really kind of go off on their own in that.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: And that's one, just really understanding how their body works, which people are just not taught, unfortunately, and also the ability to really truly connect with their body in a very deep way.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: And it doesn't take long to learn that.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: It's not something that is prioritized in our culture, and it's not something that's taught in our culture, but our body knows exactly what it needs in any given time.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Our body is so so wise and it has its own healing capacity, it has its own internal pharmacy.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: There's so many things that we can tap into and resource from our own body being.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: What I love to help people do is to really be able to channel their own wisdom for you know their own art of self-care and what really works for them, and also being able to trust that what their body is telling them is the right thing.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: And in doing that, and also in doing the healing work, because that is important to heal the nervous system, to a place that is able to feel to not be addicted to that chronic stress, which so many people are, because that's where the healing actually happens.
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: When a person is in a state of stress, they're not able to heal because all of the resources are going to fight what it thinks is an immediate threat that it's under.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: When you're talking about the body, it also kind of brings us to your modality that you created.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: And I think a lot of the work that we did too was just like helping you to not only develop this, but also just see it for what it was, right?
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: And I think that this was really important.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: And I'll let you talk about your modality.
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: But I just want to say before this, and this happened for me too, right?
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: Where it's like you do this thing with people, but it feels so normal to you that you're just like, oh yeah, this is just like this thing that I do.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: It's like not a big deal, and you know, I'll do it for free or whatever.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: And then I think it had to take me saying to like Leah, have you trademarked this, Leah?
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: You have your own modality here.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: Like, let's talk about this.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: So I think that to me was such a like fun thing, too, of like walking you through that to like really claim and own the power of what it is that you already were doing, but like you were thinking of it as like not that big of a deal.
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: I know, I'll never forget the call where you were like, because I have trademarked it.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: I just wasn't using the little R.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: And you're like, you have a trademark modality?
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: Like, why are you not talking about this in this way?
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh yeah, maybe I should put that little R behind it.
- 37:15SPEAKER_01: And you really helped me to speak about it in a way that didn't use the medical languaging or like the language that everybody uses.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: It's just more generic.
- 37:27SPEAKER_01: And you really helped me to create some pillars that describe it in a way that is like unique to me and the magic and the gift that that I'm bringing to it.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: So the modality is called embodied groove, and it really is utilizing music and movement to help a person learn how to feel their emotions in a safe way, in a grounded way, because so many people are just really scared of their feelings, and I used to be that way too.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: I was terrified of my feelings, and I even remember when I was going through my master's in counseling, having to sit with other people in their feelings, and I was like, ah, this is so scary.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: Isn't it funny that they don't like train us on that?
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: Because like half the people in my counseling program were like not okay.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, what are they doing for these people?
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: Like, and how are they just like throwing them out into the world to deal with other people's feelings when they haven't even dealt with themselves?
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: I know it is very true, and so many people come to that profession because they had trauma, because they went through some.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and they're like trying to heal it unknowingly.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or you know, maybe they saw a therapist for a couple of years and it was kind of helpful, and they're like, Oh, I want to do this and help people in this way.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: It's really amazing in that way.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: So embodied groove, it's so many things.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, it it takes a conscious dance format because I am a mover.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: That's just part of who I am.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: I've been a dancer since I was a little girl, like creating dances with my neighbor as we were waiting for the bus in kindergarten, and then I was a cheerleader in high school, so I could create and choreograph dances.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: I just love moving and dancing.
- 39:10SPEAKER_01: And then when I discovered live music, that like really blew me open because it was my first spiritual experience.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: It was my first time fully feeling embodied and feeling my body in a way that felt good to me.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: So, like I was saying, I was always really scared of these emotions because I felt like they were gonna overtake me and they felt really uncomfortable.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: And so I would just self-medicate through alcohol or smoking pot just so that I didn't have to feel, but so I could deal, which so many people are doing with so many different things out in life, but we're never going to be able to fully heal unless we are able to fully feel, right?
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: You know, we talk about going through the feelings to be able to get to the other side.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: We have to be able to feel them.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: And and so there's the fully feeling them in your body, the ability to heal, which with embodied groove, it's not about talking about it, because you know, I got my master's in somatic psychology because I know that it's not just about the head, it's not like talk therapy has been done for centuries, it hasn't really given us any great results yet, you know.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: We're still waiting.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: We're still waiting.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: We're we're like still have our fingers crossed for that.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: But we are a multidimensional being, we have this physical body that we're inhabiting, and the uniqueness of us as humans is that we have all of these feelings, a whole range of feelings.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: And the thing is, is that if we are pushing away the sadness, the despair, the grief, all of those feelings, we also can't feel the immense joy and the immense pleasure and the immense gratitude.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: And that's what I've really learned on my journey of being able to safely feel those feelings in my body, is that now I have access to all of them.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: And it's almost like being a little kid again that can like cry in one moment and then laugh in another moment.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: And it's like no emotion lasts for forever.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: Although I definitely have cultivated the ability to be able to hold those high emotions, and that's what Embodied Groove does too, because people are not, they don't even feel that those are safe to feel for a long period of time.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Those are what actually turn that needle up on our health and our well-being.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Those are what activate that internal pharmacy inside of our brains and our bodies that rush us with all of those really good feeling chemicals.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: So there's the feeling there's a healing, and then there's also that elevation, right?
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: That ability to be able to connect with that sense of joy and that pleasure through the body while you're moving it, you're moving energy, you're moving the breath.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: You know, one of the things about Embodied Groove is really inspiring people to move in big ways because we can get really, even with people who love to dance to live music, we get kind of stuck in our own way of moving.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: And yet there's like all of these opportunities for us.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: I'm opening my arms right now, which is something that a lot of people don't do, especially at concerts.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, we don't always have the space to be able to do that.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: And I love to use live music because there is that energetic resonance of the vibrations, right?
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: And we are energy, and you know, we have seen what energy can do, what thoughts or vibration can do to water, right?
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: And how water reacts to it.
- 42:30SPEAKER_01: Well, we are comprised primarily of water.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: So, like what happens when we, and we always said intentions in the beginning of Embodied Group because it's really important to me to focus those thoughts on what it is that we do want to create, and so that we can be able to then have that embodied experience in a safe and fun and playful way in connection with other people, because this is the other piece, and I really want to do some research on this.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: But my hypothesis is that embodied groove can really help with attachment disorders because it helps people to feel really safe and comfortable with others in a very non-threatening way, and that's what heals those attachment traumas.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I totally agree.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: I feel like any kind of group, like because even I've had that experience too in group breath work sessions, too, because you're like able to have your experience, like your big experience in a group of other people who are not judging you and are just supporting you.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: Did you ever do network chiropractic?
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: In network chiropractic, it's like they don't really crack you.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: They just, it's kind of like energy, like touching.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: But traditional network chiropractic, they do it in a room of a ton of people.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: So it's like everyone's energy is like bouncing off of each other and like affecting each other.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: So I share that to say.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: It totally makes sense how that would happen.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: But I feel like the dance is also incredibly powerful because I'm sure you are more comfortable dancing in front of people.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: Me, I'm not always, but I feel like if I got to that place where I felt really comfortable, it would be like an elevating experience for me or a f experience of like connection to the people around me because you kind of like let your walls down, I'm guessing, is what it is like.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, I loved just like seeing what this was.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: And then it's like, okay, well, how do we bring this into everything that you're doing instead of it just being something that you do at live shows?
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: And obviously there's been so much movement with you just like getting on these stages.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: And you can talk about that obviously too in a second, and you've just come through in that department.
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: But then it was also like, okay, we need to take this beyond just being only at live music, right?
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: To like being actually like a signature part of your work.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about all that a little bit.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's been really helpful.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: Cause I can get a little stuck on like, this is the way that it looks and this is the way that it has to look.
- 45:16SPEAKER_01: So you've been really helpful, you know, and that's why you hire a coach, right?
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: So that you have a different perspective.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: You're not just stuck in your own head and what it's supposed to look like.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: The thing about Embodied Groove is that it's not about learning specific movements, it's actually about developing and cultivating your connection with your own body, just like I was saying.
- 45:37SPEAKER_01: And with any modality that I use, because I love also interactive guided imagery, which is also not specific in me, you know, creating something for someone is actually me deepening the experience and talking back and forth to the person.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: It's the same thing with embodied groove, it's just in a movement way.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: I am loosely facilitating, I'm helping to drop a person into their body in a safe and fun way.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: I am inspiring by my own movement, which people can follow.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: You're like the conduit of it, you're the channel of it.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: And then the people get to really have their own experience of, oh, look, when I move my hips in that way, gosh, that feels really good.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: And of course, we hold a lot of emotions in our hips, you know.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: So when we can begin to move these areas of our body that just get stuck in rigid, because what happens is as we move through life, we have these experiences, we collect them in our body, and you know, emotions get stuck in our body, we have these holding patterns, they get stuck in our body that then just continue to create the same experiences over and over and over again because we're holding our bodies in the same way.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: When we can begin to really open up our bodies to free those emotions that are stuck in there, and also to have, again, that like range of movement and of motion that is different than our traditional ways of moving, that's when we can really find that flow and that creativity in our own lives.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, for me, I really bring everything back to the body.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: And it's like if you're stuck in your life, if you're, you know, experiencing the same thing over and over and over again, the way to change that is to begin to move your body.
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: And as you're doing that, the beauty of it is that you can continue to heal again without having to talk about anything, without even having to remember what it happened, just like trusting that your body is doing what it needs to do to release the things that it needs to release so that you can open up to whatever it is that you're desiring to call in or the path that you're desiring to move forward in.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 47:46SPEAKER_00: I think of it too, because I usually walk the dog for like, you know, two or three miles every morning.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: And I a lot of times will like go on the same walk, especially during times where I feel like things are changing.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: I have to go on a different walk or like I have to move my body in a different way.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: It's like a physical representation of like the same pattern over and over again.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: So it is so true, and everything like plays out in the body.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: And I think that people don't realize like what a mirror the body is for everything that's going on.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: So that's so powerful.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: So let's just talk about all of the amazing things that you have created in the last six months together, because there's been a lot of things.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: And I know the different stages you've gotten on just to teach and body groove are like pretty impressive.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: And then the stuff that we said we wanted to create by the end of January has officially been created.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: What's today?
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: January 26th.
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: So, and also feel free to share too anything else just from a feelings perspective or, you know, just anything that that you want to share just about your results.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: Well, I think I'll start there just because it's coming up for me.
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, I just feel like so much lighter and more open and expansive.
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: That's my desire to help everybody else.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: And I think we get to this point where we think we're really good at that, but then we realize that there's actually an even deeper level for us to embody in that.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: And so that's really been helpful for me.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: And one thing that really has shown my progress in that is the fact that my job that I was working at, uh, which was the job that I got right after I finished my PhD program in 2018, I just found out, I think it was January 4th, they told me that it was ending and pretty much effective immediately.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: I just want to interject very quickly just to say that literally happens to everybody that works with me.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: I was thinking about that this morning.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: If they wanted to, right?
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying like if you don't want to lose your job, you won't.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: But if like they wanted to, or like that's what's meant to happen, it always happens.
- 50:04SPEAKER_00: It's and it always happens in a way that like they weren't expecting.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: So I just love that that happened.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: So thank the least.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: So I was told that the job was ending.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: And while it was a it was a shock, and I was definitely in shock for at least 24 hours.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Once the shock wore off, of course, there are thoughts that like momentarily popped into my mind about like, oh, how am I gonna make this work?
- 50:28SPEAKER_01: And oh crap, like what's gonna happen.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: But the 98% majority of of it all was this is exactly what is supposed to be happening, this is all happening for me.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: And like this just such deep feeling of gratitude and expansion.
- 50:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, the reality is that when I got the job in 2018, I set a timeline for myself of five years where I was like, okay, I'm gonna work this job for five years and then I'm gonna do my own thing.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I was also reminded of that, like, okay, Leah, you you already set this up five years ago.
- 51:04SPEAKER_01: Here we are now.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: And I just did a live about skydiving and graceful change because I felt like I was like pushed off of this cliff because I didn't willingly jump off the cliff.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: I was still in the, well, this is easy and this is cushy and it's reliable income, and I'm still building my business.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: And you know, there'll be a point where I'll choose to leave, but like right now I feel pretty comfortable.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: But obviously, the universe felt like I was ready, and and I do truly trust that I am ready.
- 51:33SPEAKER_01: And so I was pushed off the cliff, and beautifully I also got my first private client.
- 51:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I think it was two days after I was told that this job was ending.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: I had a uh sales call with a woman who actually I worked with through my job.
- 51:49SPEAKER_01: So that's how how she knew me.
- 51:51SPEAKER_01: And that had never happened before either.
- 51:53SPEAKER_01: So it was kind of crazy, like that all conspired.
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: And so then I had my first private client, and I had another woman book another session.
- 52:01SPEAKER_01: And so, like, I was getting this income from my business, it just felt to me like a sign from the universe, like, yes, Leah, everything is okay.
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: This is all gonna work out.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: So that just felt really good, and I've been able to land in that trust of that.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: And then also, there's been so many things that have have come up, really, even to in this past week, around embodied groove and places that I've really tried to bring embodied groove to to just get it in front of larger audiences, also being compensated for it, because in the live music world, like the wellness part of the live music world is just not prioritized, it's not seen as important.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: And if you go to a festival and you go to a yoga class, it is most likely that that yoga instructor just got a ticket for that festival if they were lucky.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: Some festivals are like, oh, you're lucky to come and teach in front of all of our people.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: And so you have to pay for a ticket.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's really quite ridiculous.
- 53:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: I am now getting paid to do embodied groove.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: I'm on the wellness at sea team on Jam Cruise, which is essentially a music festival on a cruise ship that was really so definitely something that I called in.
- 53:20SPEAKER_01: So that was officially announced yesterday.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: And then I'm really trying to move Embodied Groove, at least in the live music world, to an artist because it does utilize live music.
- 53:30SPEAKER_01: And I want to elevate it beyond just a wellness class because it's so much more than that.
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: It's it's an experience, it's a healing experience for all that are involved.
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: And so all of that is happening in addition to me now just feeling really solid and connected to my own work.
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: You know, we were just talking on our call yesterday about me creating embodied groove videos for helping people, you know, to heal ancestral trauma, to really elevate into their pleasure, to whatever else, really connect with their own part of embodied groove is connecting with your own embodied groove because we all have this own groove, this own life force that moves through us, and it is unique for every single one of us.
- 54:14SPEAKER_01: And so often we get stuck in this trying to fit into the box and and just trying to fit in that we forget our own beautiful uniqueness.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: And so part of Embodied Group is also just really helping to connect people back into their own authentic way of being so that they can express it in whatever way they want to.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 54:36SPEAKER_00: It's funny because movement has never been the thing for me, just because I don't I mean, I love dancing, but I don't think I'm a good dancer.
- 54:44SPEAKER_00: My husband always tells me I dance like Elaine from Seinfeld.
- 54:48SPEAKER_02: I love Elaine's dancing with away.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: I don't think that's true, but you know, it's never been the thing that I feel the most comfortable with, but I do so see why it's important and probably especially important for people who don't feel comfortable with it because it gets you into a different like space within your body.
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: So I love that it's so important.
- 55:10SPEAKER_00: And then also, you know, financially you had a goal, right?
- 55:14SPEAKER_00: That happened this month as well.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: I hit over$10,000 this month, which was and just again, another, I feel like, nod to from the universe to say, yep, Leah, you got this.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: We're we're with you.
- 55:30SPEAKER_01: Trust in yourself, trust in us.
- 55:32SPEAKER_01: That's a message that really comes through to me.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: I love that so much.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: And I just feel like you've really like birthed this new level for yourself, you know, and it just keeps going, right?
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: But it just goes to show that this is such a journey.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: And most of the time, like what we think it's gonna look like starting out, it doesn't always look that way, or we're required to look at things or deal with things or release things that we didn't realize we needed to or whatever.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: But it's just we just have to go through the process, you know, and like be on that journey and just be in like knowing that that's just a necessary part of the path, right?
- 56:14SPEAKER_00: Instead of like fixing or feeling like, oh my gosh, I have to figure out what the problem is so that I can get here faster.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: But it's like actually maybe this is what you're supposed to walk on this journey, right?
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: And it's just is what it is, and there's nothing wrong with it, right?
- 56:32SPEAKER_00: And obviously there's things we can do to move faster, but at the same time, like there's still this place of just like embracing where you are because it's all part of it.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I'm just really excited for you and excited to see where everything goes.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: Is there anything else you'd like to share just about your results or anything else that you want to share about before we close?
- 56:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I'll just say thank you so much.
- 57:00SPEAKER_01: It's just been such a joy and a pleasure.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: You're very like I felt really comfortable around you.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: And I think that was also a reason that I really chose to work with you in a private capacity.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: You know, I feel comfortable with you, but also I know that you're gonna like take me up a notch.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: It's not gonna stay the same, but I need that comfort to be able to reach higher, right?
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: Because totally, yeah, and I think that's really important when we feel like people can be activating to us, but sometimes in that activation, there's still like a layer of defense that comes in.
- 57:32SPEAKER_02: Totally.
- 57:33SPEAKER_01: There's like that a little bit of a a barrier between growth.
- 57:38SPEAKER_01: So with you, you have that comfort, but you also have that ability to like help a person rise.
- 57:43SPEAKER_01: And so that's just been really lovely, and I'm I'm very grateful for that.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, I'm just I'm so excited for you and just to see how everything continues to evolve.
- 57:54SPEAKER_00: So, can you just let people know where they can find you and also if they can try your work?
- 58:00SPEAKER_00: Like you you have a freebie that people can try.
- 58:03SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, if you can just tell us about that and we'll link everything below.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: Well, you can always go to my website, which is drleataylor.com.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: That also talks about embodied groove there as well.
- 58:14SPEAKER_01: I am on Instagram at drleahler, and I am growing my following on TikTok too, at Dr.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: Leah Taylor.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: I'm doing a lot of videos over there right now.
- 58:25SPEAKER_01: I'm kind of in between the changing my freebie.
- 58:29SPEAKER_01: Right now, I have an aligned embodiment toolkit, which is really helping a person connect with their own sense of being in their body.
- 58:37SPEAKER_01: So it includes a guided meditation and also a movement practice, but that may be shifting into something else really soon.
- 58:45SPEAKER_00: We'll stay tuned for that.
- 58:49SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Leah.
- 58:51SPEAKER_00: This was amazing, and I know everyone's gonna love it.
