- 0:05SPEAKER_01: Hi guys, welcome back to So We Were Saying.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, before we get into tonight's topic, what have we all been up to?
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: Jane, what have you been up to?
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: I would say between work, volunteering has picked up a bit.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: I was there over the weekend, walked the cutest little dogs, and this podcast, I feel like I've, you know, had a pretty full plate, which has been really fun.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Very nice.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: In all different ways.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: What about you, Melissa?
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: So I have back to school night for the girlies.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: And it is at the same high school that we went to.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: How exciting.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: So I'm looking forward to being in the hallways that I was.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Does it look so different?
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: It actually looks a lot like it did.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: There's not much difference, I don't think, but it is weird to be back there because I'm like, oh my god, this is my locker.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Or it was over here.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Or even like you can remember which locker was yours.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: Maybe not the exact one, but I can remember where but like, yeah.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I don't know about the one, but like it's somewhere in that vicinity of the bar.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: That's I did not go to high school with them for the record.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: I have teller fans.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: You're right.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: They don't know.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: That's exciting.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: That's enough.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: I've just been up to uh sports with my little one, soccer, softball.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: So that's kind of nothing really too crazy.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Well, ladies, it sounds like we all got a lot going on.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Which is great.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Always.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Like always.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: So tonight we're talking about a fall reset, but the 40-something version.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: So I don't know about you guys, but whenever the fall comes around, when we get into the burr months, do you guys know what that means?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: You don't know what it means?
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: The burr?
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Burr, the burr month.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: My least favorite.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: September.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: October, November, December.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: They call it the Burr month.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: But people think of it as like a fall reset, like a back to school.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: So it's kind of like the reset before the mean reset, which is in January.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: But I always look at fall as like the main reset.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: It's like that feeling that I want to get my life together.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Summer's over.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Now I'm going to work out, eat better, get organized, which like you kind of think would be that way for the summertime, but I always associate it with the fall.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: I never would associate it with the fall.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: I always just feel like it's my new reset.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Back to school.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: So I was back to school time.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: You had to restart.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Turning a new leaf on Wadeva.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Would you look at though?
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Would you look at that?
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: You see what I did there?
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, interesting.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Well, guess what?
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: You're going to for this episode.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, here we go.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: So what are we actually getting into this fall?
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: What do we want to change?
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: What are we excited about?
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: And what are we all just done with?
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: First, what's your fall personality?
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Are you decorating, buying sweaters, making soup?
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Or are you just happy that you're not sweating?
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: I do like fall.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I do like to put the sweatshirts on and then just be nice out but not freezing.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: And I am into the crock pots.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Love a good crock pot dinner.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Of course you do.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: What do you make in the crock pot?
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Different things like a lot of chicken stuff.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: But I do sausage and peppers, or I'll do peppered steak, or just anything easy, because really with sports and stuff, it's just easy to have dinner.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: You can eat it before, after, and it's ready for whoever's in the house.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: So let me ask you this with the crock pot.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I remember when I was younger, my mom used to do this, and I would get so nervous.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Do you leave it on all day?
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Like even when you're not in the house.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: You know, that's what happened in the one show.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: What the one?
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know that.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Um I know the show.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: I can't think of the name.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: This is us.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, I God, I hated that show.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: I stopped watching it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, I didn't hate it.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: No, I didn't get that.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: I didn't watch it all day.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: It was awful.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: It was just like one sad thing after another.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: There was no like progression in the show.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I go.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: I digress, but it was so boring.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: Did them dirty.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I've never, I don't know.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: I just keep on the dye.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: I mean that's good.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Do your kids have a feeling about it when they see the crop?
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: My kids do not like a crop crop.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: No.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: I don't give a crap.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: It is what it is.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: I made dinner because you can't be picky if you're not cooking.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: So that's how I feel with dinner.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Melissa, what about you?
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: What's your fall personality?
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: What's your vibe?
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: My vibe.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like what are you into?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: I think I get pretty lazy because I hate the dark when it gets darker early and then just makes me just want to do nothing.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: But for you what you were saying about the restart and the refresh.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I get my carpets cleaned and I get my furniture all cleaned.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Every fall.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Like is that a thing?
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Well, some of it's fairly new, so I didn't do it last year, but I try to do it just to like clean everything to start because also the holidays are coming.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I want it to all be done before.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I have really good intentions.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Like I'm like, oh, I'm gonna make Sunday dinner and then I'm gonna have stuff for the kids to take to lunch if they want, like meal prepping.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: And I have been falling short of that, but I want to do it.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: And I think as it gets colder and I'm in more, I will do that more.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Like I like to cook on Sunday when it's like the games are on and I don't really care about the games as much.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: So I can be in the kitchen.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: It's also not that cold yet, right?
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: So where it kind of like forces you to like want to be in.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Like I know for me, I definitely love like anything cozy.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: I want a sweater, a blanket.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: I love just like being at home, especially when it gets colder out.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: But I still like want to go out and do things before it gets colder out.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: So like I want to go on like a hayride or a pumpkin patch or like pick the fruits that are, you know, popular right now, the apples and stuff like that.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: So it definitely makes me want to like go out and do things.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: But I do love just like being at home and being cozy.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: This is my favorite time of year.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: I shouldn't say it's my least favorite.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: I feel like winter like pulls.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is my least favorite.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: This just leads into that.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: So it's like guilty by association.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: It's like you know what's coming.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: But then it's like non-stop now.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Like now that we're September, we have the school, then we have Halloween, then we have Thanksgiving, then we have Christmas, and then like you said, but then we get to the cold months and you get restrapped and feel like it's never gonna end.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Well, it always go away in January, so I have that to look lower too.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Where are we going?
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: I haven't decided yet.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: So we kind of already talked about this, but like what's one thing you're actually excited about this season?
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Like the main thing that you're excited about.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: I'm excited.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Like, I love this weather to do like bonfire in the driveway, some neighbors just stopping by.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: We get invited to that because I do miss the girls, the Naveca girl.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: So do I.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: And I feel like that's very chase.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: And I feel like we've never been invited to one of these before.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: It's weird that you have this and we don't know about it.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: Listen, ladies.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, stop staring at me.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Yes, I do look forward to like that.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Well, us too now.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: We know about it.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: A little hurt, but also excited.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: This season, I am most excited about.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I think we're gonna be doing like small trips to take Lewis to look at schools that he wants to.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: And I know that is something I should be excited about, but I'm also sad about it.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: So it's very bittersweet because I'm so excited for him to go somewhere and hopefully south in nice warm weather that I can visit often.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: But it is sad.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: I guess it is that you should be proud because you raised such a great kid that he's smart, he can go to school, get a good education.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, for sure.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: But it is sad.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: My baby boy, I'm now, but you got to this point.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't know.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: It's crazy as soon as they turn 18.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: How like even with doctors, like you have no access to anything.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Like these kids just turn 18 and they're like, You're like cut off, right?
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: As a parent, you're cut off.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Like, these kids don't know what they're doing.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Like, they need help, but I know you got some big stuffs in front of you.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited for you.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: It's a lot of good things.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: It's exciting for him and it's exciting for you too.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: And plus, it's a place for you to visit because he's looking at like all warm places, right?
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: So that's exciting.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: There.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: So mine is definitely volunteering because I feel like it's getting me out of the house.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: It'll get me walking.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: Like even when it's freezing outside, I'll feel committed to still go and like take the dogs for a walk and just get out there.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: And I don't want them to be by themselves because I feel like that's when a lot of people are going to stop volunteering.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Tuck them in.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: So at the volunteering place that I go to, they do a tuck in time.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Jack, I don't know if I was telling you this also, but they do a tuck-in time in the evening when it's time to go to bed.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: They get all the beds ready for the dogs.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: They give them the little stuffed animals that they like, put it in their bed, and it's before the people that work there leave.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: They get them all ready for bedtime, which I just think is adorable.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: But yeah, so I think I am definitely looking forward to that the most.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: That's exciting.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: It is exciting.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: That you found like something that you're passionate about.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: And yeah, me too.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: When you hear fall reset, what needs the most reset?
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Your routine, your health, your friendship, your closet, or your attitude.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go first for this.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: So I've a hill girl.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: So I definitely think it's my health and my routine.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: I recently joined a gym.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: So I've been going to the gym three days a week in the morning.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Adam and I, my husband, we go at five.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: It's been like 5:30.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: We try for five o'clock, but it's been like 5:30 in the morning that we've been going to the gym.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: And then I get ready and I go straight to work.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: So like that has me in a really good like workout routine, which I'm really like happy about.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so just like working out more, taking care of myself, really getting into my skin routine.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Anyone that knows me knows that I like I love a skin routine and like a self-care routine, like at the end of the night, because I just was so tired of being like, oh, I'll start tomorrow.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: I'll start tomorrow with all the things, with all like the eating right, the working out, you know, just taking care of myself.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: So that is something that I am really excited to reset.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thanks.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: I'm kind of like all the above.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Well, I did just clean out my closet, which it does feel so good.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: How many bags of stuff did you get rid of?
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: I would say three and a half.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: Are you donating them?
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Get rid of it.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: I love a closet clean out.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: That's like something that I did.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Get rid of that.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: I do need to work on.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: My husband would say my attitude sometimes, because you know, maybe I'm like pre-menopausal.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Who the hell knows?
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: Aren't we all?
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: Jeez Louise.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: But working out, like I do walk a mile Monday through Friday.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I've been doing it since July 2024, Monday through Friday.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: No excuses, nothing.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: One mile.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Even in the snow, even when I had the flu, my mother was pissed at me, but I still went out because I couldn't break my streak.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: How many steps is that?
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Do you know?
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: No idea.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm just curious.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: I'll start doing a workout and then I'll stop.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Like I'll do it for like three weeks, don't see any results.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I can't get myself back into giving a crap.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: And I need to get better about making that kind of time for myself to work out.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: So that's kind of how I feel about I need a reset on all that.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: I think that's good.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: That's a good reset.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Well for me, I think my biggest thing would definitely be eating better.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: But even on top of that, it's and I hate to say this, it makes me sound like I drink a lot.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: I it's not that I drink a lot.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: I go out a lot and I will have a couple drinks more often in the summertime.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: I feel like since spring break, I have been going out a lot and you know, drinking.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: And I think I just need to slow it down.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Like this month, Jamie and I were supposed to not drink anything for a whole month.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: And it's now that I can't do it.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: So I've only had drinks when it's been a special yes.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Like we've had parties or something.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: So that's when I yeah, had drinks.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: I don't drink at home.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: I don't really drink during the week unless I go out.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: But like there's something every weekend.
- 12:32unknown: I know.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: October literally has something every weekend.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: But even during the week, there's stuff that comes up.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: And I've already feel like so much better since the summer, but that would be my biggest reset that I feel like I need to do.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: Another I do have one more on mine is you know how you said like friendships.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: I we do have a friend that's been going through a lot late.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: And I feel like I need to be a better friend and pick up the phone.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: But then I also feel like it's hard because I want to give that person the time like to get to talk and not keep getting cut off from like cooking dinner or doing this.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: I need to be a better friend in that aspect to make more time for friends that really need you.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: I think that's a good one.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Well, it's a habit that you know makes you feel better, but it's somehow always the first thing to go.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: We're probably all gonna say the same thing for this one.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Working out.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: I know for me that's the first thing to go.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: And I'm always like, you know, what I said earlier, oh, I'll start tomorrow.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: It's always I'll start on Monday.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: That's always the first to go.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: If I had We used to, we Jamie and I would work out and then text each other that we did the workout.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: And then we were doing really good.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: And then I don't know what happened.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: But if I have like a shitty day at work, it's like, I don't want to do that.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: I just want to go home and like so late.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: That's why I do it in the morning now.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: But like, I don't know.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: It's just like that's always the first to go.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: What about you, Melissa?
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't say that about working out because I feel like I have a standing bodies fast every Tuesday, and then I I have to sign up for my orange theory classes.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: So and I go to it because I hate to waste them.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: So that I stick to it.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: But I'm trying to see, I don't know what was the first thing.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Probably eating right.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Like I'll do really good with like, okay, I'm just gonna have this.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: And if I can eat the same thing every day because it's just easy for me, but then if I don't have that there that day, then it throws me off and I'm like, okay, I'm just gonna eat whatever you see here.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: And then it's I have junk in the house because of the kids, so I can easily go off track there.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: That would probably be my biggest thing.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Or like if you wait too long and you get to the point of like being hangry, I'll be like, I will just eat anything at this point.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: And nothing's killing you.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Like it's not what you want.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Well, my body doesn't tell my brain that I'm full.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: So like I literally could just I don't realize I'm hungry until I know I'm gonna eat, and then I'm starving, and then I'm gonna eat everything and then I won't stop.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: I used to have like a weird Yeah.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: It's doesn't work.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: I'm not like normal on that way with food.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: What does feeling good look like to you?
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: More energy, better sleep, feeling stronger, having more patience.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: What does it look like?
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Kind of feels like all of them.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: But I feel like no matter what time I go to bed, like my husband and I go to bed sometimes.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: It will like we'll go up at 7.30 and lay in bed and like we're that old.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Wait, do you guys go to bed together?
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: Not always, but like we'll get in bed.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Like if we could put Jordan down like 7:30, 8 o'clock, we'll get in bed, watch a show, kind of just like wind down.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: We're not both out, or he plays hockey.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Like last night we were in bed at 7:30.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: That just to like just snuggle and just watch a show and just disgusting.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: I don't think I've ever been in bed at 7:30.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: No.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, that part's not disgusting.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: But I feel like even if you go to sleep, like say by nine o'clock, I never feel refreshed by the movie.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: I'm always tired no matter like what I do.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: So do you track your sleep?
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: I do, and I score like 96s.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: But okay, so yes.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: But like one time I have well, all the time, I get like eight hours and something minutes, but my quality of sleep is not good.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: So I get the high score because my I had enough sleep, like an ample amount of sleep, but the quality of sleep that I had, and I need to like look into that more.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Like, does I don't know how much REM you're supposed to have?
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: I don't know how much deep sleep you're supposed to have or lights.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know the difference between them.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: So I need to like plug that information into Chat GB Take, but I know that like I get enough sleep, but the quality is not good because I feel the same way.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: Like I wake up and I'm still exhausted.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: How are you tracking it?
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: I have a Garmin watch.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: I have an Apple Watch.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Do you track?
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: No.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's interesting.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: You should try.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: You're not like curious about it.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: I don't I wouldn't wear anything on my body when I go.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Curious about it.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: My fingers, like I feel like I don't like anything part of my sensory.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: I don't like anything on me like that.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: Like constricting or anything.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: I gotta.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I'll leave a necklace on because I forget.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: If I don't shower before bed, I'll forget that it's on and that's it.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: But nothing else.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: My hands, my wrist.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Very interesting.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: What does feeling good look like for you, Melissa?
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of it is like emotionally feeling good.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Like I would say that and how I'm feeling in my clothes.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: I those if I feel like content in some way, because I or like uncomfortable, those are like my biggest things about feeling good.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: I totally agree with how I feel in my clothes.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: If I can like not feel like I'm popping out, if I feels like my buttons aren't holding on for dear life, then I feel good, right?
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Like, so definitely that.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: And I would also see like how my skin looks that day.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Very glowing right now.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: But like I'm very in to my skin.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: So like that's another thing, too.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: I would say how I feel in my clothes and how my skin is skinning that day.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: But that's also a that's a good sign of how your body is, like your skin, and it's you know, it's gonna show up on yeah, in ways if you're not feeling good.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or taking care of yourself.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: That's very true.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: What would be a fall trend that you're into and one that you can't get behind?
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Oh god, I don't know.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: What are your guys's mine are the chunky cardigans?
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: Like, I just like the oversized stuff, like right now for the vibes.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Like you can look cute, but you're comfortable, yeah, and stuff like that.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know, that's kind of what what are you not into?
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: It's not like style, it's like some people's like Halloween decorations.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Like everybody buys all this cheap crap and then throws it out.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: At the end of the season, it's just going into landfills.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: Genie, what can you get into this fall, like trend wise?
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: I love a jacket.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: I've been really into jackets lately.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: I would say like the pest maybe like two years.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Like a leather jacket.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: No, I'm not into leather jackets anymore.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Kind of like a capy vibe.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: It's so you.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: It's very me.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: It's very me.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: I do love it.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: I love a trench coat.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: Like I'm just feeling jackets right now.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: So you said boots.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Like, what do you not like about boots?
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: So I can't get behind boots.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: I just I've never been a boot person.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Some people can pull them off and they look really, really cute with like a boot with like a slouchy jean.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I just cannot pull that off.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: I just don't like that look.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: I like that look on other people.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: I don't like that look on me.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: Sometimes, like with some of the fashion, like I can see somebody else.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, that looks adorable.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: And then I'm like, I look like yeah.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: They're just this is not made for me.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Not me.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: What about you?
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: That's I was actually gonna say that about your thing about oversized stuff is not flattering on me.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: I don't like I hate anything chunky on me because I already feel like I'm too short to like pull off oversized things.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: But I love a sneaker.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Oh I love that everything, like any jeans can go with like either like a cute sneaker, like you can dress it up, or just like any right, comfort.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Like you've yeah, it's like even when you were in Italy.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like you were in the cute dress with your little sneakers, like it looked cute, like but it was also very like necessary, practical, yeah, because you're just like doing so much walking.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love a sneaker.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: What are you into this fall?
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: I guess like the chunky sweatshirts, okay, like cardigans type thing.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, they might not look good on me, like the oversized ones, but they're like cozy.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: And then what I'm not into is like the Halloween decorations.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: That is like the cheap crack that everybody buys and then throws out and puts them in the landfill.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: And my other question would be what do they do with these ginormous skeletons that you leave out for what a month and a half?
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Like, where do they put them?
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: You know, people in my neighborhood actually will keep them out longer and like decorate them a little bit like for the holidays.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: Well, like it's very tense.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: For my listeners to happen.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Shout out to you.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Wait, are these the skeletons that are like coming out of the ground?
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: No, the giant.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: I've been seeing a lot that like come out of the ground.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: I kind of like them.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Where do you store the giant line?
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: Leaving it up to Easter, like it's done.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: We're done.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Like it's a lot.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Like they dress it up.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: All right, yellowing, then for Thanksgiving with the little pilgrim, then the Santa hat.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Like, come on.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Skeleton's gotta go.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: I know you're trying to get your money's worth, but it's not working.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: You're really passionate about it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: I am curious to wear the if you have any comments of how you store it, please comment on our Instagram.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: So we were saying it insta.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Is there a wellness trend you're into right now, or one that you are completely over?
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: So I've been trying to figure out things I can do like when I'm at work.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: So I bought this little like Pilates.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: You'll know it better, Melissa.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: But it's like a it's like a circle kind of that you can like pulsate inward and also like you put it in your thighs.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Like when I'm on calls, I'll put it in between my thighs and you pulse your thighs like back and forth.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: So I've been like doing that.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: And also you can hold on to it.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: It's like a ring.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Hold on to it and also do it for like your arms.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: So I've been trying to like multitask.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: So I listen to like wellness podcasts on my way.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: I've I have a very weird routine that I do in the morning.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: So like I get ready, I do my skincare on my driving to work.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: I listen to a wellness podcast because it just feels like it gets me ready for the day and kind of like motivated for the day.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: And then I am in morning meetings pretty much from nine o'clock until noon.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: So that is when I do my little Pilates at my desk because I keep my camera off, no one can see me and it gets a little workout in.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: So it's trying to like incorporate little wellnessy things when I'm, you know, even when I'm driving, I'll do like teeth whiteners.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: And fun fact, on my way home from work, because sometimes when I get home, like I'll eat right away.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: And like I said, I'm very into skincare.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: But there have been times where I've been falling asleep with my makeup on because I'm just exhausted.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: By the time like I'm ready to go to bed, like I don't want to do another thing.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: I brush my teeth, and that is it.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: So I keep these really good Korean makeup wipes in my car and toner wipes.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: And I'll do that when I'm driving on the way home.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: That way, if it's a day that I'm tired, that way I don't have to worry about it takes care of it and I don't fall asleep with my makeup on.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: So all I have to do when I get home is just put on my cream.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: I love that you're I am always trying to multitask to get the most out of like my time when I'm not doing anything else or trying.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: I feel like I think like I try to do so much empty the dishwasher.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to make sure my daughter's doing her home.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: I get like so ADD killing on it.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm like, I gotta just focus on one task at hand.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like and not do a thousand.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: I'll also wear my eye patches on my way into the office for my hour commute.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: I need to do her skin routine because her skin is glowing.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: I do it all on the way in and on the way home.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Gotta make the most of the time that you got.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: What about you guys?
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Anything?
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: No, just a longest trend that you're into or one that you can't get behind.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: I don't know that it's a trend necessarily.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: But just some like a routine that I've been doing.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: It's with Bray, and I'll walk her.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Like I was I was been walking her like twice a day.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: I won't do it when it gets too cold because she's lucky just to get one walk when it's too cold out for me.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: But if I feel like I'm sitting too long at home, that's like my cue to be like, all right, get up.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Like, get out.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: We'll take her for a while because it'll get my mind moving.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: And I'll listen to like a podcast.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: It's usually not wellness, it's usually Jeff Lewis.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: But and I'm so far behind because when I was away, I didn't listen.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: So I am August still, I think, for him.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Wait, can we just talk to that really quickly?
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: I am shocked that you didn't listen to that on the flight.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Girl, I was enjoying my flight.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: I know you are, but like I am just shocked that you like didn't pop a podcast.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: That's all I listen to on flights are podcasts.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: All I do.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: That's what I do.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: But I was on two really great flights.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: So you were just stoking it all in.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: It was.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: I wasn't gonna waste it on a podcast that I could listen to on just channel flights.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: That is true.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: That is true.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: So that's why normally I do listen to it on my flights.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: I'm really far behind.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: You are.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: You better listen to one on the way home tonight.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: But I listen to them when I'm at home.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: If I'm cooking, if I'm doing the dishes, if I'm folding clothes, like I am always listening because it actually helps me focus to because I'm I have so much ADD in that way, where if I'm listening to it, then it also I hate to say it gets me motivated.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know if that's the right word, but like I'm like, all right, I'm excited to listen to it.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: So it gets me up doing something.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: You're entertained, right?
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: And isn't that such a crazy thing?
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: No, I waste so much time doing nothing because a lot of times I have too much to do.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: So I don't do anything because I don't know where to start and I'm all over the place.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: But that's why when I walk, if Bray sees me put earbuds in, oh, she goes crazy.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: She knows we're going for a walk.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: So do you know what I have to do in order just to do my dishes with my airpods?
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: I have to like my diver them into my ears because she stares at me.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Do you ever see those things where it's like somebody's mud?
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: All of my animals at all the time.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: I can't do anything.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: So I like sneak the airbands in my ears.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: And then I do my things.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: But sometimes I have to walk her first because she sees that and then she just doesn't understand.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Isn't it funny how they catch on to things?
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: I and she knows it.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: She's so smart.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: So that would be my trend that like listening to podcasts and either walking her or faking her out, one or the other.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: By the end of this year, I really want to be less puffy about that.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: So I think I'm really trying to do all of the things to make me feel less like with the inflammation and everything.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: That is my biggest like goal.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: So check me now and then in January.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: I have so much to say about that.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: But Jaffy, I want to hear, I want to hear what yours is.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: So the question was what small thing could we do?
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: I would love to make meals and have them in the freezer, and it's less like thinking.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: I hate making dinner.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Wait, like a meal prep situation or just like having meals ready to go to pop out for the whole family?
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Pop out for the whole family.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: I think because like my husband and I have been married 20 years or close to 20 years, that I've been making meals for a long time.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: I'm so overcooking, but you still have to feed your family.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: So I feel like if I can get ahead of the game and have meals ready to go and be like, oh, tonight's dinner is lasagna and it's already done.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: You made it, so you know it's like, you know, fresher stuff.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: And then before December, I mean, I would love to say lose weight, but I just feel like I'm a slump.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: I feel like as soon as you turn 40, it's like so hard, hard to like get out.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: And like your body's changing so much.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: And like, I don't know if you guys feel that way.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Like as soon as I turn 40, I mean, I had three kids.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: I had like I just cannot get my weight off, and it's working me.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: But it's very important for you to lift weights for your bones.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: I did hear that, yes.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: So I try to get into the routine of like lifting weights, and then same thing.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: Like, I couldn't do it in my house.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: I have to go somewhere.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I don't have time to go somewhere.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: I get it.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: I don't have that discipline at home.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: I would I'll sit on the couch before I do something.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: See, once I get in, I mean Jamie knew it was like once I get my.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: I remember when you were doing your I was skinny a beach body shout out, but I just I don't know what it's like.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: It's just getting into it.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: And I think too, because like I said, I was doing like different things and I would do it for almost a month and not really see that much change.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: And I know food is just as important.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but when you don't see any changes, you're like, Of course.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: You give up it's hard, it's so aggravating.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and yeah, that's it's like disheartening.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so discouraging.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: So I kind of want to like try to focus on that.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: So I love the less puffy one.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: I had so many thoughts around that.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: So much of it's inflammation, right?
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: It's the food that we're eating, that's the stress, it's the environment, it's all of those things.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: A, I just bought an inflammation blood thing off Lab Corp today.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: That's so funny that you say that to test at the levels of inflammation that you have in your body.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Tell me if I'm funny that.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: I will, I will.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: And you don't have to fast for it, which I hate when you have to fast for a test because like I have to have my coffee in the morning, but I'm getting that done on Thursday.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: So I'm so curious about that.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Secondly, there's a place that opened up in Marlton called The Tox, and it's all lymphatic drainage.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: So you go there and they do a full body lymphatic drainage.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: And if you have never been there before, they'll do like a free lymphatic drainage on your face, which I'm very interested in.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: I've had it done before multiple times.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: So, like, I'm really curious about that.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: No.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: So apparently, this place, like other places that I've gone through lymphatic drainage, they do it very softly.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: It's just like cut, they kind of like touch your skin and then they brush it, right?
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: So by touching your skin, it's and don't quote me on this, but it's like opening up like is this when your face is like really red?
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Like it no, I think that's like a vampire facial or something like that.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or like microneedling or something that you're thinking of.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: But they basically like tap your skin, that opens up something, and then they they like swifting motion to your arm, which kind of like drains all the fluid out.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: And so apparently you be it out or you sweat it out.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, you definitely feel less puffy, but then it's just like keeping up with it afterwards, you know what I mean?
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Because just like that, you can get back to being inflamed.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: So so much of it is like what you eat, what you drink, your environment, all that stuff.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: So I'm just I I'm gonna steal your idea.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: I want to be less puffy too.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: Let's do it together.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: And I hold it so much on my face, right?
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Where my face just gets like it balloons out.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: So I think that's a good one.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: Beyond the bandwidth.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: All right, let's do it.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Let's all be less puffy by December.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: How do I do it?
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: We'll figure it out together.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: We'll all figure it out together.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: All right, Jackie.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: What does your perfect fall Saturday look like?
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: It would be Tim making pancakes.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: Sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee, and watching Family Matters with Jordan.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Is she into that or are you into that?
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: That's cute.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: And she'll do it.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: And then like going to a sporting like soccer or softball.
- 31:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Watching a movie, just doing yard work or I don't know, and then bonfire.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: That would be like a perfect Saturday.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: So what about you?
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: For me, a perfect Saturday.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: I think it could go one of two ways.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Because if I do like to work out on Saturday mornings, so and that gets me going and I'm actually like doing stuff that I will do stuff around the house and maybe like decorate, which I need to do.
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: But if I was gonna be lazy and not do that, I would have my cup of coffee that wouldn't keep me on the couch for a while.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: But then have something to do.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: Like this past weekend, I went to the winery with my aunt and my sister, and we just had like a fun like lunch.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: And then we did, we had the party.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: I like having stuff to do that gets me out.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: I love like what you were saying before about anything fall, like the craft fairs or I feel like just stuff like that.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: Like no pressure, just like fun stuff.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: And yeah, my kids don't really play sports on Saturday anymore, so I don't have that to that.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: Which I'm I think I'm fine.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: So when you like are home on a Saturday and you're just sitting there with your coffee, what are you doing?
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: Probably watching something on TV.
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, usually like below death.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: For example, just like are you doing scrolling too?
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: It depends.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: Because if I'm if I'm into the show, I won't.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: But if I'm like half in, half out, yeah, I will like look on my phone too.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: It really depends.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: I'm really trying to be on my phone less, but I just find myself, it's a dopamine.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: I know it's so stupid, but it's like I'll just get bored and I'll be like, oh, me to just looking through.
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: But like, here's the thing.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Here's my question.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: I understand if people don't want to be on their phone because like their kids are around or your family's around or friends are around and you're trying to be more present.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: But if they're not, who cares?
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Like, why are we trying to be off our phone?
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: Which is true.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Because I'm not, I I'm not used on my phone if people are around me, I feel like.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: But because I think it's just like such a waste.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: It keeps me in such like a pattern of it makes me just sit there and do it.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: And I'll like, I actually listen to, I think it was just like a reel about about like watching reels.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: And it'll make you feel good and productive in that moment.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm going to clean this space and I'm going to do this, and I'll declutter, but there's no action behind it.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: You'll feel good in that moment.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: You gotta do it, and then you don't end up with it.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: You have to watch orders, and then I'm like, I gotta clean my house.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: Let's get the motivation going.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: But I also did watch every single hoarder episode that's crazy.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: So my Saturday, it's probably what I do now on Saturday.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: So, like, I don't go every week because I would just feel a stalker if I did this every week.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: But like, I get up, I have my coffee, I'll lay around for a little bit because I get up very, very early, like 5:30, even on the weekends, have my coffee, chill for a couple hours, and then I usually go into this little town nearby called Haddonfield.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: And I go to like my all of my little stores.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: I know the people that work in them and just kind of walk around and enjoy the weather.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: They have a farmer's market that I go to.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: So I will do that.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: I'll come home and then you forgot to get a hot dog.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'll stop at our favorite hot dog place, get a hot dog.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: And then, I mean, if it were my perfect Saturday, I'd come home, hang out with Adam.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: He'd make like a good dinner that night, or we order in.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: And then just hang out and watch TV, like be in my PJs by like four, have the windows open, get that fresh air, right?
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: Like that is my perfect Saturday.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: That sounds really good.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: All right, a few more questions.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Do you feel better with the routine or do you need spontaneous plans mixed in?
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: I know mine will be very quick.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: I need a routine.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: I am a routine worse.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: I have to have a routine.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: What about you guys?
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: I feel like I know the answer, so I want to hear from you guys, Melissa.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: I think I'm more productive with a routine.
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: But I love spot night.
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say that about you.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I could see that.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: I feel the same way.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: Like, I do like routine to some extent, but I also love like a random night that turns into something even more fun and just like think it's something so stupid.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: But my neighbors and I on a Thursday, we went over to the new playground near our house, and then like the other neighbors came and it just turned out to be like this the kids were having a blast.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: We were just hanging out, like pictures, and it was just like so random, but it was so fun.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: And I just love like I don't know, just random nights like that.
- 36:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sometimes those are the best, right?
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: They are the best.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: What is your favorite store in the fall time to visit?
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: I could just walk around Home Goods and just see all of like they have the most random things there.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: So you could spend like an hour, two hours just walking around looking at all of the random crap that they have, but I absolutely love it.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: How they sell pasta in there with the Halloween decorations.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: It is random.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: It's so random, but I absolutely love it.
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: So especially around this time of year.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: What about you, Melissa?
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I don't go in stores that much because I have too much stuff.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: So I have been really trying hard.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: And this has been years.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: Like, I've really been trying hard to not buy stuff just because I'm trying to get rid of stuff.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: But are you guys like browsers?
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: Like, I could easily go to a store and just browse.
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: Like, I sometimes just like walk around just like seeing what they have, like just for like something to do.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: See, I like that.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: Like when I went to Mystica with my mom, like I could just walk around in the little shops.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's super overpriced.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: Just looking.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: My husband, Tim, is not about that.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: Like, he wants to get into the store to get what he wants and get out.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: So I do hate shopping with him, which I know you're listening, Tim.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, he's the worst shopper, dude.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: But I do like to just go and just like browse around.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: So I feel like we are officially in our fall era.
- 37:50SPEAKER_01: We are ready for the fall season.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: I feel excited.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: I feel like we are ready to depuff and just get right into Iron Man.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Now I know what a bird one is.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: All right, it's time for our PS.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: One thing we each want to leave you with this week.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: But I kind of have two.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: Is that okay?
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: That's fine.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: One is I will give you a wonderful recipe for pumpkin cookies.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: Which she gifted us this evening.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: They were delicious.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: All it is is a can of pumpkin, a can, I mean, a a box of vanilla cake mix and chocolate chips.
- 38:32SPEAKER_01: Just mix it together.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: They come out a little puffy.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're very good.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: So that's maybe why we're oh, I'm sorry.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: $3.50 for like 10 to I would say 15 minutes.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: Kind of like just check on them.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: But you just don't want them doughy in the center.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: But even if they were, they're not really raw.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: And then my other one is because we're in October, I would say women go get your mammograms.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: Because I just had mine and all is good, but I just feel like you gotta take care of yourself and just get checked because you're not allowed to wear deodorant if nobody's ever done it before.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: It's really not scary.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: The first time I went, because Jamie talked me into it, and I was scared to death, and I didn't get my results right away.
- 39:20SPEAKER_01: I thought I was dying and I got myself so sick.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: And then this time I didn't get my results back for like a week and a half.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: No news is good news.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: So all is good.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: God proud of you.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: Do you feel like when I have it done and they say hold your breath?
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: I can hold my breath for a long time.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: But the second they say it, I'm like, oh my god.
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: I have to be oh my god, I feel dizzy.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: Yes, Alex.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: But I can literally hold my breath for a really long time.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: So for whatever reason, they tell me not like I can't breathe, and then I panic.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: It is uncomfortable, but the worst you second the worst when it is squishing in.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, damn, you have my stomach.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: They're the nicest thing.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: They are because they know it's so awkward.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: As you have your arm up and you really can't have your mom saying you stink because you're stuck.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: Actually, did not stink, so I don't know why you stink.
- 40:15SPEAKER_01: But anyway, I showered right before I went.
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: So did I, but I get nervous and I'm sweating.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: But yes, so go get your mammograms.
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: That's my PS.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: That's a good one.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: My PS is about not saving the good stuff.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: So what do I actually mean by that?
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: You know, when you get like a new candle or a new outfit and you're like, oh, I'm gonna save that for like the perfect day.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not gonna wear that outfit.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna save it for like the perfect night out, or I'm not gonna burn this candle.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna burn like the other ones I don't love.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: Like, mine is about doing that stuff now.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: Like, burn the damn candle, wear the cute outfit that you've been saving.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: Like, that is a good one.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: Like, don't wait for that stuff.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: And I feel like I do that so often that it's like, why?
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: Because I know if you're quasi cleaner, you probably get rid of it.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: So miss that opportunity.
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: That's my PS.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Something hinted about one of us.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: That's exactly right.
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, keep doing it.
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: I love it over to us.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: She is a giver.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: Melissa Grace, what's yours?
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: So I actually, because you guys gave like PSAs more than a PS.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say I am over beta men and nonchalant men.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 41:27SPEAKER_01: Tell us more.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: Or is that all we need to know?
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: Look it up if you don't know.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: Damn it.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: Gotta get Google.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: Ladies, this was fun.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: This was fun.
