Transcript
- 0:01Welcome to Winning the Week Wednesday live stream and podcast.
- 0:05This is your episode 70 for October 14th.
- 0:09Where has the time gone 20-26?
- 0:12I'm Scott Auld and I saved you a seat at the cool kids table and if you forgot
- 0:16your lunch money don't worry.
- 0:18I'll, share my fries with you.
- 0:20This is the intersection of technology, culture, and well-being.
- 0:24I heard Jenny like that saying there.
- 0:26Here for Gen-X and Boomers tired of being talked down to about tech.
- 0:31Phones, AI, streaming, and the rest of the technical world was supposed to make
- 0:34life easier but it often doesn't.
- 0:37I'll sort the frustrating from a useful.
- 0:40With optimism that holds up under real world conditions the cool kids table
- 0:44is
- 0:54a way on YouTube
- 1:00at the Winning the Week channel and jump into the chat and say hi.
- 1:07So, so Brian's in the chat saying he's a learning from GPT some stuff, learning
- 1:11how to create a topographical map from survey work and AutoCAD.
- 1:16That's cool. Now you really got a 3D print that and then paint it make a little
- 1:20miniature landscape. Right?
- 1:22Springboard says, I only want fries if they're cooked in.
- 1:25Beef tallow. That's when fries were good.
- 1:27They still are good if they're cooked in beef tallow, sir.
- 1:30Get thyself to a steak and shake.
- 1:33So for tonight's show, the see who's in Discord.
- 1:38We're going to be raking about getting force unsubscribed to YouTube channels.
- 1:43I got a wonderful tip of the day for you.
- 1:45We're going to talk about our winner and commenter and encourager and thing of
- 1:49the week.
- 1:51But talk about niche rewrite.
- 1:53Hopefully all things Ron is here by then because he's the one who asked a
- 1:56question that sent me down that rabbit hole and maybe he'll be interested in
- 2:00that. And I want to talk to you about a podcast migration project I undertook
- 2:06and successfully executed this r week.
- 2:11I want to talk to you about AI transcripts and chapters, which is useful for
- 2:15YouTube and podcasters. And, uh, we'll go through our membership Kings and
- 2:20producer shoutouts. So yeah a, I wonder who's in discord Fred.
- 2:25I wonder who that could be.
- 2:26We'll get there in just one second.
- 2:28Uh, oh, I see, I see I have a typo here that says episode 68.
- 2:33Let's change it. Last week was episode 69 statistics,
- 2:38650 comments from 36 people, which is a little down from the previous week of
- 2:43820. Let's see if we can get back up to 800 comments again tonight.
- 2:48Maybe we can do that. We're already at a hundred.
- 2:50So, uh, easily going to be able to knock that out.
- 2:53We're already 12, 13% of the way there.
- 2:56And, uh, we had 34 people visiting us last week..
- 3:00You can see there that Jenny was in first place was 68 comments and Mike and
- 3:05Devin and Richard and Susie and Ben were all Railing behind.
- 3:09Amy did good spring board.
- 3:11I know you can barely make it in, but you still racked up 31 comments and, uh,
- 3:15Allie and Fred were rounding out the lead there very nicely.
- 3:19I hope you guys liked my little award here.
- 3:21I received the wicker plaque from YouTube for 3,556 subscribers.
- 3:27I was very proud to open that up.
- 3:29Do an unboxing video of the wicker YouTube plaque.
- 3:34Um, obviously that's a joke, but before we get too much further and
- 3:41to have, our simultaneous sips, so grab your beverage, everybody in honor of the
- 3:46late great Scott Adams, who always did the, simultaneous sip on his podcast
- 3:51slash live stream, I've got my beverage here.
- 3:54I hope you've got yours. Let's get started.
- 3:56All you need is a cup or a mug or a glass, a tankard, chalice or Stein, a
- 4:01canteen, jug or flask, a a vessel of any kind, fill it with your favorite
- 4:06liquid. I happen to, like Publix diet, brewed sweet tea tastes kind of like
- 4:12vanilla frozen yogurt, if I'm being honest.
- 4:36And so good question, Fred, who's in disc, now, why don't we take a wander over
- 4:42to discord and see that's what I think we should do.
- 4:45Let's jump into the discord shared screen and look at that.
- 4:51We've already caught a couple of jokers.
- 4:52We've got a couple of jokers in discord, so we might as well hop in there and I
- 4:58will jump in the lounge and see if we can get the audio working and hopefully it
- 5:02doesn't do any feedback.
- 5:05Hello, gentlemen.
- 5:08Hi, Fred,
- 5:11let's just make sure this is, uh, hold on a second.
- 5:15I want to make sure we can get some audio working for you guys.
- 5:18There we go. Now the audio is working for you fellas.
- 5:24And if I jump into the lounge right here, we can see now I could turn my camera
- 5:28on as a well. Hello, Mike and Paco.
- 5:31Hello, Paco. Mr Paco. Don't mind me, I'm eating a sandwich.
- 5:36How was, how was, how was I doing?
- 5:37Now I could turn my camera on, how about that?
- 5:41Let's turn on, make it even crazier.
- 5:43I've got a second camera I can turn on.
- 5:47Maybe, maybe I will, maybe I will.
- 5:50Why not? I mean, the computer can handle it as we proved the computer can handle
- 5:53it. And it's just kind of weird to see me talking here to me talking, you know,
- 5:58but
- 6:00so what do you guys want to say to the live streamers?
- 6:03And since you guys are the only ones brave enough to jump into discord and say
- 6:06hi,
- 6:09I don't know. I don't know why you're not in here.
- 6:14We're always telling you to get in here.
- 6:16Who, me?
- 6:18No, everybody else. Everybody else.
- 6:21What kind of insane crazy chips are you eating today?
- 6:25I have just regular. Toothpaste flavored potato chips.
- 6:29You know, I eat regular food, but I'm not streaming.
- 6:32Okay,
- 6:34I broke it.
- 6:36All right, gents, I'm going to I'm going to leave you in here and I'm going to
- 6:39continue with the live stream.
- 6:40You can continue to entertain each other.
- 6:43Oh, it's the infinity mirror.
- 6:45Look at this. The infinity mirror of doom live streaming the live stream.
- 6:50Very good, Mike.
- 6:52Very good. All right, fellas.
- 6:54I'm going to leave you to it.
- 6:55I'm going to go back to the chat and get started because I got a lot of cool
- 6:58stuff to talk about tonight and you guys are going to have a good time, but feel
- 7:02free to everybody jumping discord did just by the way.
- 7:05I got to see if anybody else joined.
- 7:07Yep, Amy B landed. Let's make her a cool kid.
- 7:11All right. Now, Amy B, you can jump over there on the left.
- 7:14There's Jay joined the discord lounge.
- 7:17Hello, Jay. That's Moby Dick.
- 7:20How are you doing, sir?
- 7:22There he is.
- 7:24All right. I'm going to leave you guys.
- 7:25You guys can continue to have fun in here and you can listen to the live stream
- 7:29separately.
- 7:32So that's discord. We are having so much fun in there.
- 7:35It should be illegal and
- 7:38if you guys want to hang out, you don't have to hang out in the voice chat.
- 7:41There's also a ton of, uh, I mean, an absolute metric ton of cool
- 7:47chat groups over here. And I've even got a couple of bots that post links to all
- 7:51of our YouTube channels, which is a blast.
- 7:54It's great fun. So follow the link in the description.
- 7:58And, uh, if you joined tonight, I will need to turn on your
- 8:24access,
- 8:27like you just saw me do for Amy there, but, um, I will try to stay on top of
- 8:31that.
- 8:33Uh, I was trying to find my old street, uh, in Pensacola
- 8:40where my, when we lived, uh, we lived in Pensacola when my dad was stationed
- 8:43there in the Navy and I was trying to find my old street from when I lived
- 8:47there. And I would have been six or seven years old, maybe, I think
- 8:53six or seven years old. And it's hard when you can't remember exactly what the
- 8:57street was called. You just have a vague, vague memory of the name of the
- 9:01street.
- 9:02But I couldn't find the darn thing in Google maps.
- 9:05I have to ask my dad what the name of that street was.
- 9:10Amy was trying to be sneaky.
- 9:11Nope. We all saw you join.
- 9:13We all saw you jump in there and join.
- 9:18Scott's blowing my mind with his tech skills says, Jenny, I don't think it's
- 9:22that complicated. Now come on.
- 9:24I'm not doing that much in here.
- 9:25We're not doing anything crazy.
- 9:27I want to talk to you guys about something and you might ask yourself, why is
- 9:31this darn fool showing me a picture of a YouTube channel called Jet Lag the
- 9:36Game?
- 9:37Why is he showing me that?
- 9:39And the simple fact is that this is my favorite YouTube channel on all of the
- 9:45tubes. And it's hosted by these very amusing three young men.
- 9:51I call them Gen Z, but they might be millennials.
- 9:54I don't know. They're probably late 20s, early 30s, something like that.
- 9:58But they do, they do geography races, like racing the length of Japan and trying
- 10:03to do connect four across the United States and like
- 10:09treasure hunt across Europe, stuff like that.
- 10:13Why do I bring it up? Because it's my favorite channel.
- 10:16And I know for fact, I'm subscribed to these boys, except every once in a while.
- 10:23So they do seasons, right?
- 10:25They do a season. They're currently a doing season 19.
- 10:28They're just finishing up the finale of season 19 in their show.
- 10:31And between seasons, it's about a month or so with no videos coming out.
- 10:35So when I come back to their channel, a find myself unsubscribed.
- 10:39I would never unsubscribe from, from my favorite YouTube channel, would I?
- 10:44Of course not. But I come back to their channel from about a month or six weeks
- 10:48away and I find myself unsubscribed.
- 10:51And that is the only explanation that I can think of.
- 10:56For why is it that when I look at my, my analytics, I can see that, that three
- 11:02or four people subscribe to the channel every day, but two or three or four
- 11:06people unsubscribe from the channel every day.
- 11:09And I don't think I'm annoying that many people to make them unsubscribe.
- 11:14And if they're not really interested in the channel, I should be very happy that
- 11:19they're unsubscribing and be glad that they're not going to be a subscriber who
- 11:23doesn't
- 11:25watch your channel, but that said, uh, my, my commentary to you
- 11:32guys, who have YouTube channels is remind your people to check if they're still
- 11:38subscribed. Take a look at, tell your, tell your viewers in every video,
- 11:44ask them to subscribe. Just remind them to check if they are subscribed.
- 11:49If they think they should be, if they're expecting to be subscribed, to your
- 11:53channel, have them go look and tell them to tell you if they suddenly found
- 11:58themselves unsubscribed. They kind of want to track this.
- 12:01And I don't think I've got enough viewers to get the whole world to help me
- 12:04track it. But between all of us with all of these YouTube channels and all of
- 12:09the people who attend all of our YouTube channels, we should be able to get some
- 12:13data, right? So I'm going to ask all of you to over the next month or so, ask
- 12:18your viewers to double check and make sure they're still subscribed to your
- 12:22channels. And to let you know, if anybody discovers that they weren't subscribed
- 12:28and they thought they were, and then report back to me and we're going to
- 12:30aggregate these numbers.
- 12:49Crazy nefarious reasons. I could think of 13 conspiracy theory.
- 12:53Reasons why, but we won't go there.
- 12:58But on a side note, if you think you're subscribed to my channel, it would
- 13:03behoove you right now to double.
- 13:05Check and subscribe to this channel.
- 13:08And while you're at it, why don't you go ahead and hit the thumbs up button?
- 13:12We got seven thumbs ups tonight and 170 comments already.
- 13:17Fantastic.
- 13:20Cool. So, oh, that's interesting.
- 13:22See all the base housing that was outside of the naval air station was turned,
- 13:26turned into a park and subsidized house.
- 13:28Well, we lived out in a house.
- 13:30We had a regular house and I've looked all over the map and can't find what I
- 13:35remember the name of the street to be, but I must be remembering wrong.
- 13:38So I'm probably going to have to ask my dad what that street was called.
- 13:41And then I'll probably find it.
- 13:42Maybe I'll take a picture of it.
- 13:43Do a Google street view screenshot or something like that.
- 13:48But that is interesting about the base housing.
- 13:50I bet it's a nice part.
- 13:52You like green beans?
- 14:04Amy says, well, holy smokes.
- 14:05It worked this time. Chrome would never work.
- 14:07Explorer did. Now you all are in trouble.
- 14:09We're in trouble because Amy's in discord, everybody.
- 14:12That's cool. Amy, you have tried joining at least twice before because there's
- 14:16two other Amys, so I'm going to boot.
- 14:19The other accounts that aren't in use anymore.
- 14:21And we're going to keep you the new one.
- 14:25So Amy agrees with me. Yes.
- 14:26I thought they were unsubscribing to my channel.
- 14:29One would fall off sometimes two a day.
- 14:31Yeah, exactly. Brian is still subscribed.
- 14:36Nana just signed back up today.
- 14:37I signed back up in discord, Nana.
- 14:39Is that what you mean?
- 14:41That would be good to have you back in discord.
- 14:43I miss you in there. I remember when you were in there for a while.
- 14:47Green bean casserole. That's what the marshmallows on top.
- 14:50If you say so, Fred. Fred says green bean casserole is good.
- 14:54If you say so. Springer here, he doesn't like fresh green beans or frozen, but
- 14:59canned is good. Figure that one out.
- 15:02There is no explanation for that, my man.
- 15:04By the way, springboard, I sent you a private message in discord.
- 15:07I don't know if you ever saw that.
- 15:08You may not realize you got a private message because it's not super obvious.
- 15:12In the top left corner of discord, you'll see your
- 15:16you'll see your private messages.
- 15:18If you didn't know, I sent you one.
- 15:20Fred says to Amy, get in here in the discord lounge.
- 15:24Amy and discord. That's down on the bottom left corner.
- 15:27Go down to the lounge. Mike the aging retirees says Fred agreed with almonds on
- 15:33top.
- 15:34I feel like I got a sneeze.
- 15:36You guys know that trick when you think you're going to sneeze.
- 15:39And it feels like a sneeze coming on.
- 15:40And you can trick your brain into thinking it's already sneezed by doing a fake
- 15:44sneeze. Well, I'm going to try that.
- 15:46I feel a sneeze wanting to come on right now, but it's too far distant to
- 15:50actually kick through. So I'm going to do a fake sneeze.
- 15:53Ready?
- 15:58There we go. Now the fake sneeze is out and my brain should be tricked into
- 16:02thinking it's already sneezed.
- 16:05And now I don't feel the urge to sneeze anymore.
- 16:10In the PM, I have to look for the PM.
- 16:13Thank you for letting me know.
- 16:14Yeah, I was figuring. You probably didn't know that it was in there.
- 16:16I was going to tell you in the regular part of discord.
- 16:19But those messages are not very obvious to find.
- 16:23It's way on the left, all the way at the top, above your list of channels, if
- 16:27you subscribe to multiple discord guys.
- 16:31In fact, I'll show you my discord screen again.
- 16:34If you look over on the left, you can see all these discord channels I'm
- 16:37subscribed to, right? Signum University, Florida Tolkien Society, Tone Asylum.
- 16:42VidIQ has one. Our buddy, Tommy Temper, he was in our live stream yesterday.
- 16:46The Skunk Squid, which is Jay, Moby Dick.
- 16:50He's got some, the Rev Secutioner.
- 16:52He's got some friends in there.
- 16:54Fourth wall has a discord server.
- 16:57The GGP PC. That's the get piped pipe community.
- 17:02Rings and Realms.
- 17:08What's that all about? That's an oldie.
- 17:11Knight Dev Support. That's a bot.
- 17:14Yag PDB. That's another support community.
- 17:17If you click into these, you can see they've got their own servers.
- 17:19This Yag PDB one, that's the bot that does posting our link, our videos.
- 17:25That's the guy who posts our videos.
- 17:27Podverse, the application is a podcast player.
- 17:30They've got a small discord server, but nothing ever happens in here.
- 17:34Every once in a blue moon, like this is from March, they post stuff in here.
- 17:38The coolest discord server of all, of course, is the Winning the Week server.
- 17:43And that's the one that I've got up at the top of my channel here.
- 17:46So just so you know, the cool kids table online is in the discord server.
- 17:54So let's move on along here.
- 17:58I want to say thank you to our buddy Devin.
- 17:59He's not here yet, I don't think.
- 18:02But nbwriter1. And thank you to Devin and everyone.
- 18:05Dana, everybody. Oh, Ron's, you're here.
- 18:07Good. I was just talking about you in a second.
- 18:09I'll tell you why I was talking about you, Ron.
- 18:12Everybody who's become a member or gifted memberships over the past year.
- 18:16Mike, Lori, I can't remember everybody's name who's done it.
- 18:19I'm really sorry. I wish I could remember that, but you guys have done it so
- 18:23often. I can't remember how many times you guys have gifted memberships.
- 18:28And we are about to hit 100 members in YouTube, which is fantastic
- 18:34and phenomenal. and you guys demonstrate true value for value support for each
- 18:39other. And I love to see that.
- 18:40So, all right. So we got a couple things in the chat.
- 18:44I want to bring up and see what you guys are talking about.
- 18:46FlyQuest says, military secret, training for survival if ejected.
- 18:50Feel the sneeze coming on.
- 18:51Place your index finger under your nose.
- 18:54The moisture from your finger will quell.
- 18:56I don't have any moisture on my finger.
- 18:59What are you talking about?
- 19:00Anyway, the fake snee's works.
- 19:02Ron says, I'm editing my video while listening.
- 19:04So Ron, in a little bit, I'm going to get to you.
- 19:07Remember last week you said, Scott, what would you say your niche is?
- 19:11And I pulled it up and read it to you.
- 19:12But you kind of sent me down a rabbit trail.
- 19:15You kind of sent me off on a wild quest about my niche.
- 19:19And I have sort of, I've sort of massaged it.
- 19:22I didn't change it. I would say I massaged it.
- 19:24So we're going to go through the niche rewrite exercise all because of you and
- 19:30how I came up with what I came up with, what I landed on, and what I would say
- 19:35the niche is as of today. That'll all be your fault, Ron.
- 19:40So we'll get to that in a minute.
- 19:42Brenda's broadcast is here.
- 19:43Finally joined today. Officially a cool kid.
- 19:46Thank you for joining, Brenda.
- 19:48Excellent. I'm so glad to have you here in the live stream as well.
- 19:51And look at this. Mrs. Cool Kid herself fishing with Ali.
- 19:54Gee, it's chilling in...
- 19:59Oh, I got to get rid of this thing.
- 20:01It was in my way. Sorry, you guys don't need to know about this crazy little
- 20:03button I just pushed. I got a- a whole bunch of text off my screen that was
- 20:06annoying me. But Brenda and fishing with Ali G are chilling in here, which is
- 20:12awesome. We got a nice crowd of people.
- 20:15195 comments. We're about to bust through 200 and our goal is 800 comments
- 20:20tonight. We're at 25% of that already, which is fantastic.
- 20:24So let's talk about stickers for a second because there's a change.
- 20:27Uh, there is a link in the description of the video.
- 20:32I did, boy, did I update it?
- 20:34I sure hope I did. I just now said, said there's a link in the description.
- 20:36I better look and see if I actually changed it.
- 20:39Stickers. Free stickers. Yes, I did.
- 20:41Okay. So as you can see on screen here, the new location for stickers is my own
- 20:46website that R built with the help of my friend Gronk
- 20:50and hosted on my own virtual private server with the help from my friend Gronk
- 20:56and bought the domain name.
- 20:57Well, I've had that domain name for a s long time already, but finally pointed
- 21:01it somewhere useful, which is at my VPS server with a little self-hosted
- 21:05scottall.org. And if you scroll to the very, very bottom, or if you click the
- 21:10link that's at the top of the page that says stickers, stickers, takes you down
- 21:13to the bottom and there's a little form to fill out- which is the same darn
- 21:16questions that my old Google form requested of you.
- 21:20But now you don't have to fill out a Google form and it doesn't have to go
- 21:22through the people at Google.
- 21:24It just populates a spreadsheet for me so I know where to send you guys some
- 21:28free stickers on my dime. And I would love to send you some.
- 21:33I have international stamps, by the way, so folks like my friend the chairman
- 21:37here who just walked in
- 21:40from the English countryside, he says, if my niche and I align, I have no idea
- 21:45what would happen.
- 21:46Yes, if you actually started doing items that were in your niche, nobody would
- 21:50know what was happening.
- 21:53But at the bottom of the brand spankin' new scottall.org website and you can see
- 21:58a lot of links on the scottall.org website for my various Winning the Week
- 22:03projects, including my very nifty podcasts and a couple of websites I have set
- 22:08up for some friends and a couple other things I'm doing, things for people, but
- 22:12yes, exactly CL. I am now official.
- 22:16And I think if you go to scottall.com, what does that go to?
- 22:21That goes to YouTube. Yeah, scottall.com just takes you to the YouTube channel.
- 22:26scottall.org takes you to my nifty cool stuff site.
- 22:30So FlightQuest, do I have a 16 by 20 size sticker?
- 22:35I don't know what that is.
- 22:39That would be big. That would be like a really huge sticker, dude.
- 22:43What are you gonna do, stick it on the side of your airplane?
- 22:46These stickers that I can send you are out of reach.
- 22:50I can't grab them. They're like the one on my microphone.
- 22:52See the one on my microphone right here?
- 22:55Yeah, square one. They're three by three.
- 22:57Three by three inches square.
- 22:59They're kiss cut and they are very waterproof.
- 23:01When you stick them on your Yeti, they survive through the washing, the
- 23:07dishwasher.
- 23:09Hundreds of times. Mike, Adventure Spark sticker is lasting a long time too.
- 23:15So is old man copper and my fern forest and my old.
- 23:20This is a really old sticker.
- 23:21Escaping the suburbs. You know that that sticker has been through the dish
- 23:26-washer 100 times or so, because who says escaping the suburbs anymore?
- 23:31Anyway, stickers are en route to Geraldine in Peru.
- 23:35She never did get the stickers I sent to her friend in Falls Church, Virginia.
- 23:38But I've got international stamps.
- 23:41So I've got stickers going to Geraldine in person down in Lima, Peru.
- 23:48Brian says he got his stickers no more than four days later.
- 23:51Fantastic. The U.S. Postal Service doing his job.
- 23:55Very good.
- 23:57Yes, indeed Richard. I did send some stickers to you.
- 24:01I don't know if you put the wrong address address again, but I'll tell you what.
- 24:04I did send some to you. Um, but why don't you go to scottall.org, go to.
- 24:09The bottom fill it out and I'll do it again.
- 24:12I'll send you some more stickers.
- 24:16so, um, Brian says, my sticker order should arrive by Friday.
- 24:20Did you get some stickers made up for your channel, buddy?
- 24:22That is cool.
- 24:24Excellente, Rellante.
- 24:27So flight quizzes. I like the headset around the earth sticker.
- 24:30I hang it in my music studio.
- 24:32Yep. I've got some of those things right over here, right, right out of reach.
- 24:36And I can't reach them or show them to you, but fill out the form at the bottom
- 24:39of that web page and you will get some sent your way.
- 24:43Welcome home, honey.
- 24:46Thank you for welcoming me home.
- 24:47I appreciate it. Did you have a good evening?
- 24:52Good.
- 24:54Just a side note to folks who are listening on the podcast.

- 25:15I would love to see the first person ever to say, I first found you on the
- 25:20podcast and made my way over to YouTube.
- 25:22We're still waiting for that first person to ever do that.
- 25:25I know it will happen one of these days.
- 25:27One of these days is going to happen.
- 25:30Yvonne got her stickers very quickly Excellent.
- 25:33Very good. Hello there, Dashie.
- 25:35Oh, I can see what happened.
- 25:37I say hello there. And what's actually happened is, Devon just got in the chat
- 25:42and handed out. It looks like a ton of...
- 25:46Oh my gravy. Wow, Devon, Devon.
- 25:48Thank you so much. Once again with your generosity.
- 25:52Looks like Dashing Womble was given a free membership and five memberships.
- 25:57Excellent. Thank you, sir.
- 26:02A hundred members. And you might have just put us over a hundred.
- 26:06I'll let you know. Looks like Brian and Tiffany.
- 26:12Oh my gravy. I just total brain farted.
- 26:16What is the name of their channel?
- 26:18Brian, Hi Fine, Biffany, Come On, Brain.
- 26:21What is...
- 26:24You guys got to help me out.
- 26:25I can't remember the channel name anymore.
- 26:27I'm sorry, Brian and Tiffany.
- 26:29Adventure, America, Big Dude, Paul Jokes from Wales, UK.
- 26:36Thank you, Devon. That was very kind of you, sire.
- 26:38I really appreciate that.
- 26:40Yeah, Jenny, exactly. Look who walks in with the memberships.
- 26:44That's very nice of him. It's getting to be his trademark, isn't it?
- 26:49Brian, from Have Fun in Nature.
- 26:51There we go. Thank you so much, Ciel.
- 26:52I knew somebody with a real brain on would know what the name of a channel is.
- 26:58I was really having a hard time.
- 26:59Jenny knows it, Have Fun in Nature.
- 27:01Hey, Devon. Glad you made it, my bud.
- 27:04Thank you so much, man. Just a reminder again, we talked about it at the
- 27:07beginning, having fun in the chat.
- 27:10Let's go take a peek in Discord.
- 27:12There is a link in the video description to get you into Discord.
- 27:16I'm just going to drop in here and see if anybody else tried to sign up.
- 27:19No, it doesn't look like it, but it looks like Ben is hanging out in there.
- 27:22All right, let's drop in. Let's drop in and bother everybody again.
- 27:27Oh my goodness. Ben is in the house.
- 27:29Ha, how has Ben in the house?
- 27:33I'm here. He's here. How are you doing, buddy?
- 27:38We're looking at baseball cards and listening to the air.
- 27:40Oh, is that what you guys are talking about now?
- 27:44What is it? Yeah, wow. That's fun.
- 27:49So Ben, I put together a producer shout out for you that does not mention your
- 27:54old C-H-A-N-N-E-L since you shut that puppy down with the situation going
- 28:00on with the S-C-H-O-O-L. So I put together a shout out that R keeps you
- 28:05completely anonymous.
- 28:07And the reason I'm spelling those out is so that the S-C-H-O-O-L kids don't know
- 28:12what I'm talking about because they don't know how to spell.
- 28:15They don't know what they're, they can't read.
- 28:18All right, everybody. You guys keep on having fun.
- 28:20Devin's in there too. Wow, Devin's here now.
- 28:23Everybody's chilling out. Oh, look at this Amy B's in here, but she's on mute.
- 28:27Amy, you got to unmute yourself to talk.
- 28:33Ben,
- 28:37you're not going to turn your camera on.
- 28:39What's wrong with you, buddy?
- 28:43All right, I'm going back to the live stream.
- 28:45You guys have fun.
- 28:47What a great group of people.
- 28:49What a great group of friends.
- 28:52All right, let's see what I'm missing in the chat here.
- 28:54Brenda says, Scott, because of your last video, I tried Grok as I
- 29:00call it for the first time for channel evaluation.
- 29:03Awesome. I'm going to talk a little bit tonight about AI channel evaluation
- 29:08because of that video. I'll be talking about that in a minute.
- 29:12I am curious, Brenda. What did it tell you?
- 29:14Did it give you anything useful?
- 29:17The trick with Grok is,
- 29:21well, I was going to say you can connect it to the vid MCP server, but that only
- 29:26works, I think, if you have an account at vidIQ.
- 29:29So don't, maybe don't try that unless you are already using vidIQ.
- 29:33If you're using vidIQ, connect your AI to the vidIQ MCP server, and then they
- 29:39can work together to help you out.
- 29:42Yes, Ben is incognito. He's incognito Ben.
- 29:44That's his new name. Not Ben in real life.
- 29:47Now he's incognito Ben. Exactly correct.
- 29:52So listen, I got a tip of the day for you guys.
- 29:55Speaking of AI, this is a screenshot from a post I put on X where I
- 30:02often put my social media stuff.
- 30:05I've actually got two tips of the day, but one of them I don't have a slide for.
- 30:08I'm just going to tell you.
- 30:10But the first one is this one.
- 30:11If you want your robot of choice, I like Grok.
- 30:15Some of you guys like Chad GPT.
- 30:16Some of you guys like Claude.
- 30:18Some of you guys like I can't think of any others.
- 30:22I know there's a million of them out there.
- 30:24Devon. There's one called Devon now.
- 30:26Not Devon. Devon. D-E-V-I-N.
- 30:29But there's quite a few AIs out there.
- 30:33If you wanted to remember something for future conversations, some fact or some
- 30:38project you're working on, or if there's anything where you're
- 30:42having a conversation with their bot about and you want them to remember it in
- 30:46the future, use this phrase.
- 30:48Tell the robot to save it in durable memory and the AI will remember that fact
- 30:55or behavior or behavior or preference in future chat conversations.
- 30:58So for example, I told Groa Grok, my favorite robot, to save in durable memory
- 31:04the fact that I have multiple podcasts and I told him the name of the podcasts
- 31:08and the name of the path to the XML feed for my podcast.
- 31:13I told several things that I don't want to have to repeat myself.
- 31:17I told that I have a VPS server stored at inter-server, which I'm paying $3 a
- 31:21month for with the one slice host plan, stuff like that.
- 31:25So in the future, when I'm working with Grok on anything technical, I don't have
- 31:29to repeat myself and start all over with the stupid chat window.
- 31:33If you say, save this in durable memory, that's the key word, durable memory.
- 31:39Your AI will remember it in the future.
- 31:41You can tell it what state you live in.
- 31:43You can say save in durable memory
- 31:47Springs, Florida, the town, maybe.
- 31:50That's helpful because then in the future, you can just say, what's the weather?
- 31:53Is it going to rain today?
- 31:56What's the temperature going to get down to tonight?
- 31:58And you don't have to tell it the zip code or anything where you are.
- 32:01You've already told it where you live in durable memory.
- 32:05Now some of you guys might be worried about privacy and you might be thinking,
- 32:08boy, I'm worried about putting too much information in the AI.
- 32:11I don't want to give up my privacy.
- 32:13Well, you don't have any privacy.
- 32:42Privacy is an illusion. Privacy, that stagecoach left the station a long time
- 32:46ago. Agreed to the terms and conditions.
- 32:48So that's when I used to have a conspiracy theory.
- 32:51I would kind of jokingly tell people, which was that the NSA invented Facebook
- 32:57because instead of spying on people by surreptitiously putting a bug and a spy
- 33:03device in your jacket when you weren't looking, they just sold it to you as a
- 33:08phone and you paid for it.
- 33:10And now you post all the information you ever want.
- 33:12Any spy agency would ever want to know about you.
- 33:15Voluntarily on Instagram Facebook and Twitter X etc.
- 33:20So don't worry about privacy.
- 33:23You don't have any.
- 33:24Sorry, if that's a little,
- 33:27if that's a little on the negative side, sorry, but springboard here will back
- 33:32me up. Tell me I'm right, springboard.
- 33:34Privacy is an illusion.
- 33:36So that was my first tip of the day.
- 33:38And the second tip of the day, I want to talk to you if you're on YouTube.
- 33:41If you're on YouTube
- 33:44and your channel has not yet become superstar, take it off yet, which is most of
- 33:49us.
- 33:51Consider taking the videos that you're already making.
- 33:54This is very little extra work and posting your videos somewhere else as well.
- 33:59Because YouTube is not the only thing in the world.
- 34:02And if you take the video that you already made and post it on a Facebook page
- 34:07for your channel
- 34:10and you don't even have to call it
- 34:41and maybe you make an X account.
- 34:46On Instagram and TikTok, if you like TikTok, I don't really like TikTok for some
- 34:51reason. I don't know what it is I have against it Rational.
- 34:54I can't point to it and say this is what I don't like about it.
- 34:56It's just something about TikTok that gives me the heebie jeebies.
- 34:59I gotta think about that. There's gotta be a good reason why I don't like
- 35:04TikTok. But anyway, I don't like TikTok.
- 35:07But that's my other tip of the day is to start posting start posting your extra
- 35:13videos to other social media sites.
- 35:16Because you never know when that site might be the one that kicks off.
- 35:19It doesn't have to be YouTube.
- 35:21You can monetize an Instagram account and a Facebook group and you can- or a
- 35:26page and you can monetize your X account once you get to a certain point.
- 35:31And man, you make a video that didn't do good on YouTube and throw it on X or
- 35:35Facebook. You never know. It might go kablooey and next thing you know you're
- 35:39monetized over there and you got 30,000 followers on Facebook
- 36:09or 50,000 people following you on X.
- 36:13And yeah, YouTube didn't work out until they block it.
- 36:15I mean, they throttle it, Ron.
- 36:18YouTube, I mean, Facebook does not want people going.
- 36:21to YouTube. So if you put a YouTube link on.
- 36:23Facebook, I think Facebook just
- 36:25I think they shadow ban it.
- 36:28I think they squelch it. They don't want people leaving their site and going to
- 36:31YouTube. But you could upload the video itself to their site.
- 36:36You can unload your video natively to their site as a video, not as a link to
- 36:42YouTube because they don't like it when you post links off to their competitors
- 36:46and Instagram and Facebook are kind of connected.
- 36:48So they probably play nice.
- 36:50But just upload the video itself to Facebook.
- 36:52Like it's a video you put on Facebook and maybe that means you don't talk about
- 36:56it being a YouTube channel in the video.
- 36:58Maybe you just talk about it generically saying, hey, welcome to all things,
- 37:01Ron. Welcome to life with Gen X values.
- 37:04And then then that video could go on X and it could go on Facebook and it can go
- 37:08on Instagram.
- 37:10Okay, Jenny solved the problem.
- 37:11Jenny solved the problem. The reason I don't like TikTok is because Jenny
- 37:15doesn't like TikTok. And if Jenny doesn't like TikTok because Jay doesn't like
- 37:19TikTok. Thank you for clearing that up.
- 37:21That was so easily explained.
- 37:23My gravy.
- 37:25So Steve Fewer, the pure Steve Fewer.
- 37:29Welcome to the chat buddy.
- 37:30Glad you made it tonight. This is a good question.
- 37:32What about posting on Myspace?
- 37:34Man, does Myspace still exist?
- 37:36That would be so funny if Myspace was still around as a as a webpage.
- 37:41I doubt it.
- 37:43I. Mean, I doubt it, but why not try it?
- 37:45Myspace.com.
- 37:48Oh my goodness. It goes somewhere.
- 37:50Myspace actually exists, you guys.
- 37:53There's a there's a Pearl Jam story.
- 37:58Pearl Jam welcomes Billy Strings at Ohana.
- 38:00Yep. Those are some words.
- 38:03Guys, Myspace is still around.
- 38:04There's I think that's Julian Lennon.
- 38:08There's Madonna. Still music central, isn't it?
- 38:12So Myspace still exists. Yes.
- 38:13So there's your answer, Steve.
- 38:15Definitely post your stuff at Myspace.
- 38:17I guess it's still around.
- 38:18When you first sign up, do you get a message still from Rob?
- 38:21I wonder you still get a message from Rob.
- 38:23Remember him?
- 38:27Chairman says was Myspace the one that could have music playing?
- 38:30If it's the one I'm thinking of, I do think it had a bit on there once.
- 38:33Yep. That is it, sir.
- 38:36Yes. All things wrong. Good call.
- 38:38Let's go on to AOL. What was it called?
- 38:43AOL keywords. You got to reserve your keyword.
- 38:46Go to AOL and go to keyword.
- 38:48All things, Ron. Man, we're really showing our age there.
- 38:56Okay, Devin, you glared to help me with this.
- 38:58I share things on my RangelfireWP.
- 39:02Is that WordPress? I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 39:04Those are some words for sure.
- 39:05Don't know what that means.
- 39:07You have to explain. Explain it like I'm five.
- 39:11Because I don't know what you're talking about, man.
- 39:13Anyway, those are my tips of the day.
- 39:16And I think we should talk for a second about our commenter and encourager and
- 39:20winner and thing of the week.
- 39:23Maybe it's you. I hope you guys saw this at the intro, but I did receive and
- 39:28unbox the Wicker YouTube plaque for 3,556 subscribers.
- 39:33Congratulations winning the week.
- 39:35You got the Wicker straw plaque, which is always nice.
- 39:41So winner of the week. I wanted to talk about this last week and I don't think I
- 39:45got a chance to get to this.
- 39:47Kind of ran out of time last week, but Lori sent me a video telling us
- 39:53how she wins the week. So I made her the winner of the week last week.
- 39:59You guys can tell me if I showed this slide last week.
- 40:01I don't remember doing it.
- 40:04No, Fred, you're not jerk of the week yet.
- 40:06Try harder, man. Come on, dude.
- 40:09Springboard says Angel Fire was the original host of a long, long ago website I
- 40:14ran. Okay. That was the web hosting service.
- 40:17Got it. Okay. Thank you, Springboard.
- 40:20Amy says, I know when I do post on Facebook, my local friends and family see it
- 40:25and the views on on YouTube go up.
- 40:27Yeah, if you're posting it on your personal Facebook page, that's Rue.
- 40:33But I'm not talking about posting it on your personal Facebook page.
- 40:36I'm talking about creating a, it would really basically be a business page.
- 40:41Create a separate page for Amy's cozy place and have a Amy's cozy place
- 40:47YouTube account. That's what I'm talking, or sorry, Facebook account.
- 40:51I've got one, isn't it? Did I make Facebook.winningtheweek or something like
- 40:55that? It's Facebook.winningtheweek.org.
- 41:00I don't remember if that works or not.
- 41:02I don't think I set that up.
- 41:03No, I didn't ever do that.
- 41:04I used to have all those things set up, but that's the pain in the butt to keep
- 41:07on top of. Anyway, Lori's Soul Circle is our winner of the week.
- 41:12So we got that going for us, which is nice.
- 41:15It's always handy and nice to have.
- 41:20And next,
- 41:22the comment the comment of the week
- 41:26is from a
- 41:30couple of things here.
- 41:32Catherine's Fabulous 60s asked a question a while back about how do I schedule a
- 41:37live stream? She actually asked this question in the Discord and I gave her a
- 41:42few screenshots.
- 41:44But that sent me down the rabbit hole realizing that a lot of people don't know
- 41:48how to to schedule a live stream ahead of time.
- 41:51And I think that's very important to do.
- 41:53I think it's a worthy thing to know how to do.
- 41:55And that sent me down the down the rope on making a video.
- 41:59So that video will come out, I think I'll have it ready for everybody for
- 42:03Friday.. Okay, I'm hoping to have that ready for you guys for Friday, a video.
- 42:08But thank you Catherine for your comment in Discord of all places.
- 42:13And be writer once as I had an angel fire and a light coast web page in the 90s.
- 42:18Jay says Scott, do you know what TTM is?
- 42:22TTM time to move. I don't know.
- 42:26No, I don't really know. But I do know your face is winning the week.
- 42:30I did show this one, Jenny.
- 42:31Okay, the mucus blocked it from my memory.
- 42:34So I did show. Lori. Okay, very good.
- 42:37Hello, porch Piper, Tom. How is it going, buddy?
- 42:40You're you're never late up.
- 42:41You know, a pipe smoker is never late.
- 42:44He arrives precisely when he means to.
- 42:48So the encourager of the week, we never get to see the Smiling Oma in the chat.
- 42:54She never joins, but she makes a lot of comments on the videos.
- 42:58And this was a great comment.
- 43:00By the way, her username Smiling Oma 333.
- 43:04If you don't know, 33 is a magic number.
- 43:0833 is an indicator. Whenever you say 33 in a news story or on a newspaper
- 43:14article or a Facebook post or something in Twitter or anything like that, you
- 43:18see a 33. That's a sign that you can be 100% guaranteed that it's an op.
- 43:24It's a PSYOP. It's the CIA planting news stories out in the wild.
- 43:29Okay, don't get me spun up.
- 43:31Sorry.
- 43:3433 is a magic number anyway.
- 43:36So Smiling Oma said love this.
- 43:38It's great when you can find a mentor and a friend that generously wants to help
- 43:42and doesn't see it as a threat, nor gate keeps you either.
- 43:46She's obviously talking about the video I made where I talked about the email
- 43:50from Rob the Maritimer. She said, I'm in R-the-big-guns-in-my-community won't
- 43:56even acknowledge you until you get to a certain level, which feels very
- 43:59gatekeepy if you ask me so with their example and actions, I try to be the
- 44:04opposite and encourage and acknowledge the smaller channels.
- 44:08Not that I'm a big potato.
- 44:09I'm still a tater tot myself, but I try my best when I can.
- 44:14By the way, if you guys have never been over to see the Smiling Oma's gamer
- 44:18channel, it is super cute.
- 44:20She is so funny to watch. I was watching a video that she made where she's, she
- 44:25put together basically a cobbled together fireworks made into a
- 44:31Flaming Phoenix.
- 44:33She's singing the hokey-pokey as the Flaming Phoenix as it's basically falling
- 44:37apart flying through the air.
- 44:39It was really funny and very funny.
- 44:41Smiling Oma 333.
- 44:44She says, I think both, with both you and Rob, your communities y'all each have
- 44:50can only benefit from having you both there to share your wisdom and tips.
- 44:54Also, as a different perspective, to me, you're a big...
- 44:58that's an interesting concept, right?
- 45:00To Oma I'm a big channel and to me Rob's a big channel and to Rob, you know,
- 45:06PewDiePie's a big channel, right?
- 45:07And while it's frustrating to not see growth, your viewers are still there and I
- 45:11think that matters more to have a community that is loyal and sticks with you
- 45:16than a viral hit where your channel explodes but then you're at the whim to keep
- 45:20doing whatever it is that did that.
- 45:22Sorry for the novel and hope you feel better.
- 45:24R
- 45:29wisdom from the mouth of Smiling Oma 333.
- 45:39Jenny says, I'll never forget the mucus episode.
- 45:43I hope you watch it on replay, Jenny, just because you love it so much.
- 45:48Flight Quest says, I haven't been to my Facebook page in years.
- 45:51Flight Quest aerial photography.
- 45:52I just kind of move on from Facebook.
- 45:54Yeah, me too. I don't really go there to participate because Facebook can turn
- 45:58into a negative
- 46:00but it doesn't hurt to go post videos over there.
- 46:03You can drop a video over there It doesn't have to be your
- 46:12X-plane videos and start throwing them on there.
- 46:17Flight Quest, why not? What's the worst that can happen?
- 46:22Amy says, speaking of live streams, live with jet X values and resident and a R.
- 46:35Yes Ron, I'm glad I'm feeling better too.
- 46:38I felt really crappy Wednesday night but by Thursday morning I was totally fine.
- 46:43Devin, aka nbrighter1 says, I never schedule live streams.
- 46:47I like to stay random. That way everyone feels bad for missing my live streams.
- 46:52Yes, thank you for the guilt trip.
- 46:54Exactly, Devin. Very good.
- 46:56Oh, Devin was live. How did I miss it?
- 46:58I didn't even see the... Man, I didn't even see the...
- 47:02I didn't see the notification.
- 47:05Okay TTM, according to Jay here, resident rev executioner or says T.T.M.
- 47:11is through the mail and that's a hint of something massive coming for the Buell
- 47:15blast project. Through the mail.
- 47:19That's a hint for something massive coming for his Buell blast r project.
- 47:25Okay, I wonder what he's got coming in the mail.
- 47:28Well, hello there. First aid class, first aid kit.
- 47:33It's our old friend, the home school army medic,
- 47:37also known as at 1439315. How are you doing?
- 47:41You forgot to say, don't get hurt in the first silly place, which is your
- 47:44trademark catchphrase, my friend.
- 47:47Good to see you. Welcome back.
- 47:50So Ron says, I'm going to load a screen share in my Ecamm and stream Scott on my
- 47:54channel while he's live. D I've always wondered what would happen if you live
- 47:59stream somebody else live streaming.
- 48:02Like would YouTube notice and call it a copyright problem or would they not
- 48:06care? I know that Mike has made videos of us live streaming and then published
- 48:11them later and YouTube doesn't care about that.
- 48:14But like, like, what if I loaded up Rome here I went over here and I went to
- 48:21just YouTube and I scrolledled in here.
- 48:26Looks like Catherine is is live right now.
- 48:29Look at this list. Let's try it.
- 48:35Like the temperature drops.
- 48:36It's working. Look at that.
- 48:40Everybody should I drop her hello in the chat.
- 48:44And she's going to wonder.
- 48:46Hello, Catherine.
- 48:49Catherine very fast. I don't know.
- 48:52I have anybody. A T G R I N E.
- 48:56There we go. So that's going to make her wonder what in the heck is going on.
- 48:59How can this guy be dropping into my live stream when he's supposed to be live
- 49:02streaming because she knows I live stream right now.
- 49:04That'll be pretty funny.
- 49:07Um, I'm not going to stick around to see what happened afterwards, but do it
- 49:11Devin. Why not Ron? I mean, okay.
- 49:15So the thing of the week- I want to show you guys the thing of the week.
- 49:18I don't know what to call it.
- 49:19It's the thing of the week because I don't want to call it, but I get Lori
- 49:23Soulcircles
- 49:25sub-stack emails and she had this really good post.
- 49:29What if retirement was never the destination?
- 49:31It's a great article. She's got some great thoughts in here.
- 49:35Retirement. We've all been to this retirement and everyone's congratulating the
- 49:38guest of honor. Telling them how lucky they are.
- 49:41You made it. But do what- I actually looked up the definition.
- 49:45So I think it was a great post.
- 49:46I want to encourage everybody to subscribe to her sub-stack and read this
- 49:50article.
- 49:52By the way, as you can see on the right, I have a video on the exact same topic
- 49:57called This is Why I'll Never Retire.
- 50:00That's an old one. It's about a year ago and that video did pretty darn good.
- 50:072600-2600. That's not too shabby, you guys.
- 50:092600 views. That's not shabby for me.
- 50:13Jenny says, sorry, Devin. I don't know what she said that was wrong.
- 50:16I need my beauty sleep. Boy, I tell you what, you get any beauty-er, you're
- 50:20going to be exploding with too much beauty.
- 50:21So be careful taking your beauty sleeps there.
- 50:24That's going to be overload.
- 50:26Porche Piper Thomas says, I think I've got the outline ready for the podcast.
- 50:30I'll be in a touch. Very good.
- 50:32Yeah, I'm waiting on- Ball's in your court, buddy.
- 50:35Your homework was to go record your first podcast and you say you got the
- 50:40outline ready. You just need to sit down and press record, bud.
- 50:44Press record and make your audio and then we'll work on the edit and all that
- 50:48stuff later. So let's jump into the chat and see if I've been missing anything
- 50:52super crazy. I probably did.
- 50:54Let's see what I've been missing that's fun and entertaining and exciting.
- 50:58We're at 367 comments, you guys.
- 51:02Fantastic.
- 51:04Yeah, Richard here, the chairman, when we were looking through discord, he goes,
- 51:08do I detect some Lord of the Rings-ish stuff here?
- 51:11Yeah, just a little bit.
- 51:14And let's see here. Of course.
- 51:16When the homeschool medic came in and started talking about the prep stuff, CLs,
- 51:21like we had our kits ready before the hurricane.
- 51:24Preparation is key. I tell you what, you live in Florida or along the Atlantic
- 51:27coast,
- 51:29you learn, sometimes you learn the hard way, but you learn to be prepared for a
- 51:32hurricane and be prepared for a week without power.
- 51:36CL, how many days was it before they restored power to your house?
- 51:39Were you down three or four days?
- 51:42Hurricane Wilma, I was talking about this in Daniel DG Outdoors livestream.
- 51:48Hurricane Wilma came through and hit us and we were without power here for five
- 51:53days, which was not really any fun.
- 51:56Not really any fun. Not have any power.
- 52:00Everything that was in the fridge got eaten or cooked on the very first day and
- 52:04I basically built a big campfire on my driveway.
- 52:08I didn't have a grill,
- 52:10but I built a campfire on my driveway and cooked hamburger meat in tinfoil,
- 52:16rolled up in tinfoil like I was camping and some Chef Boyardee cans and stuff
- 52:21like that. And anything we could spoil got cooked the first day.
- 52:26Yep, Ron, going back to that idea of talking about putting links on Facebook.
- 52:30You don't want to give a link.
- 52:31You just want to do uploads.
- 52:33That's exactly right.
- 52:35Yeah, I know you don't gain any extra views.
- 52:37Don't think about it. Don't think about it as trying to get views back to
- 52:40YouTube. Just think about it as posting over there and that's its thing.
- 52:44Post something on X and that's its thing.
- 52:46You're not trying to get people to go from one side to another.
- 52:49You just never know which one of these social media platforms is going to be the
- 52:53one. And if you are posting the three platforms, you got three times as many
- 52:59chances for that to be the one that kicks off someday.
- 53:02You know,
- 53:05you know.
- 53:09All right. So see, else is do better.
- 53:11Walter. I mean Fred, Walter the cat is one of my favorite cat channels.
- 53:15I know that channel. Walter the cat.
- 53:17You're the one who told me about that.
- 53:20All right. Let's get caught up on the chat here before we move on to any other
- 53:24discussion. I do want to get through the rest.
- 53:28I see that homeschool army medic just celebrated three months of membership.
- 53:32Happy anniversary. Very nice.
- 53:35Devin. Yeah. Very few have support me on a daily live streams.
- 53:38LOL. Yeah. I wonder why. Maybe because you don't schedule them.
- 53:43All right. You guys are going to go live 9am on Saturday, Amy.
- 53:48Is that the plan? You guys conspiring to do a group live stream together.
- 53:53That'll be nice.
- 53:57And Devin here lying his lying his face off.
- 54:00I have nothing to do with Leo's live streams.
- 54:03well with his live streams.
- 54:04Yeah. You do his videos, right?
- 54:06His video upload edits. Steve says, what about posting on school or a school
- 54:12community? SKOOL. Yeah. I know a lot of people who do that.
- 54:17I think it's a great idea.
- 54:18It's another place. It's another community.
- 54:21Another place to build an audience.
- 54:23I know that
- 54:27Pops. Was it Pops? I know Mike.
- 54:32You guys help me out. What's Mike's channel?
- 54:34Not Mike Otis, but the other Mike.
- 54:36Old man. Old me living well.
- 54:39Old me living well has a school.
- 54:41SKOOL community.
- 54:43And I can't remember if Lori put one of those together or not.
- 54:46Somebody else. I can't remember who somebody did, but yeah, absolutely great
- 54:49idea.
- 54:53Poor chairman. He's not been feeling good since my last live stream.
- 54:56You must have caught what I had through the interwebs.
- 54:58Yeah, those internet tubes.
- 55:00You caught it.
- 55:04Oh, Devon says the key is 30 minute live streams really early in the morning
- 55:07before people wake up. Yeah, that is a good way to get the world's largest
- 55:12audience tuning in 30 minutes before the rest of the world like wakes up.
- 55:16Devon, you're a master. You should be teaching this stuff, you know.
- 55:20You should definitely be teaching this stuff.
- 55:24Depends on the original streamer.
- 55:26Weather channels do it all the time.
- 55:27Yeah, weather channels do restream other people's live streams, so yeah.
- 55:35Yeah, CL says, who has time to read?
- 55:40I do. I read a lot. I like reading.
- 55:45Port you here. Tom says, I think you'll find that when you retire, you, you're
- 55:48busier than when you were actually working.
- 55:50Well, I will never know because I'm not going to retire.
- 55:53Devon says, I'm going to retire when I have a million dollars.
- 56:00If I had a million dollars, hey, that's a Canada Dadian band, isn't it?
- 56:05Yes, that is a Canada Dadian band that sang that song, right?
- 56:10Devon says, I lost power in an- from December, blah, blah, best Christmas ever.
- 56:16It was 20, so keeping stuff frozen wasn't a problem.
- 56:20Wow. And here's the answer from CL, almost four days.
- 56:23We still have people without power in town.
- 56:25Yeah, I had heard that. They still have not got a hundred percent
- 56:30power restored. The cool thing is, there's power electrical workers who come
- 56:34from electric companies all over the country when something like this happens.
- 56:37Come down and lend a hand and help out FPL.
- 56:41Get things turned back on.
- 56:46So here's from springboard.
- 56:48Okay, I have Mrs. Springboard on the TV.
- 56:50Tell her, Don, have a successful gambling trip and she might get one over.
- 56:54Alright, so Don, listen, have a really, really, really, profitable and
- 56:59successful and providential gambling trip.
- 57:03I don't know what a gambling trip is.
- 57:05Does that mean you're going gambling like Atlantic City or Las Vegas or
- 57:08something? Anyway, whatever.
- 57:10I hope you have an awesome trip and we're all pulling for you.
- 57:14Double sixes, baby!
- 57:17No power for a month for Hurricane Ivan.
- 57:21CL, yikes.
- 57:22That's crazy.
- 57:25And
- 57:26Mike is over there watching Catherine's Fabulous 16.
- 57:29He says she's having a conversation with me, but I had already left.
- 57:32Sorry, Catherine. We just did a quick drop by.
- 57:35We did a, we did a, what do you call it?
- 57:38We, on her live stream, we did a, we should do a raid.
- 57:41That's what we should do some days.
- 57:42All of us go join somebody.
- 57:43I'll drop a link in the chat.
- 57:44We'll all go do a raid one day.
- 57:46That'll be a lot of fun and then drop back out.
- 57:48We did a hit and run. We dropped in,I said,
- 57:54interesting question from Jenny, the Brit, who lives in Canada, Dadia land.
- 57:58She says, who's your favorite Canada Dadian?
- 58:00Me or Walter, the cat? Well, the obvious answer to that
- 58:05is Pam. Pam's Stories for Human is our favorite Canada Dadian because she lives
- 58:10in Alberta where there are no rats.
- 58:14If you don't know,
- 58:17Steve says, to retire about two years after I'm dead.
- 58:20That's funny. Yeah. All right.
- 58:23Talks about how living in the cold is tough, says Devin, but it's so much easier
- 58:28to heat a space in the wintertime without power than it is to cool a space in
- 58:32the heat without power. Yeah.
- 58:33That was the problem when the power gets knocked out here in Florida during
- 58:37hurricane season, you're basically stuck in the heat.
- 58:41But I'll tell you what, when hurricane, hurricane Wilma came through and knocked
- 58:44out the power after it passed, we had about three or four days of cool weather
- 58:49because the hurricane took all the moisture with it, all the muggy weather was
- 58:53gone and the temperature dropped and was actually really, really pretty glorious
- 58:57days.
- 58:59I think that was September of 05,
- 59:03maybe 2005. Pretty sure it was around September.
- 59:06Anyway, the weather thankfully cooperated in that situation.
- 59:12Well, listen, let's talk for a second about what our friend all things Ron asked
- 59:17me last week. Scott, what's your niche?
- 59:19And I read to him what my niche was.
- 59:21But we've kind of rewritten it and you can see it on the screen here.
- 59:26But Ron kind of spun me out into a down a rabbit hole.
- 59:30Like I said, you kind of go off on these wild goose chases.
- 59:33And I was kind of thinking my niche is changing.
- 59:36I have kind of broken down and embraced the idea that yes, I'm going to go ahead
- 59:41and try to help people with whatever I can, whatever I do know about YouTube,
- 59:47which is not a lot. And by no means am I an expert,
- 1:00:16but I had been resisting helping people with YouTube.
- 1:00:20So I'm going to talk a little bit about some of the videos about that.
- 1:00:22Here's a little bit of a heads up from the video I am working on for you guys..
- 1:00:27I think it'll be ready for Friday where I talk about mastering live stream
- 1:00:31scheduling. I go through the control panels on the desktop and I show
- 1:00:35screenshots of what to do on your phone if you want to do that.
- 1:00:39I talk a little bit about how I get really good audio while I'm driving in the
- 1:00:43car. I talk about that while I'm driving in the car.
- 1:00:46I'm driving in the car doing a famous truck talk and I'm talking about how I do
- 1:00:50truck talk basically in that video.
- 1:00:53And I talk a little bit about building some of these new websites including that
- 1:00:56fancy snazzy scotall.org that I told you guys about.
- 1:01:00So I talk about that a little bit as well at the end of this video, which is
- 1:01:05basically me trying to go ahead and embrace this new aspect of the channel,
- 1:01:11the intersection of technology, culture, and wellbeing.
- 1:01:14And as part of that, I made a video which already came out earlier this week.
- 1:01:20You can see the little thumbnail I made with the chat GPT icon talking to the
- 1:01:26YouTube icon, right? But if you remember in that video, I talked about
- 1:01:29understanding MCPs and how to connect your favorite AI to a MCP.
- 1:01:35I use the vidIQ MCP. Boy, that's a lot of letters.
- 1:01:39That's, a routhful as an example.
- 1:01:42And how to do that, how to analyze your channel with AI, as Brenda was was
- 1:01:48saying a little while ago, she got chat GPT fired up, or grok, actually, she got
- 1:01:52jumped into Gronk and asked Gronk to help her analyze her channel.
- 1:01:56I would love to see a video from Brenda talking about what she learned from
- 1:02:00Gronk about her channel and what kind of analysis she came up with.
- 1:02:03That would be pretty cool.
- 1:02:05But, you know, 188 views, 98 more than usual for me.
- 1:02:10So I guess the audience in some way is appreciating this kind of technical talk
- 1:02:15and technical help. I made that video sitting right here at this computer, and I
- 1:02:21basically filmed myself in Ecamm just like I was live streaming, except it
- 1:02:26wasn't live streaming. It was just recording.
- 1:02:29And then I took the video and edited it, edited it,
- 1:02:33and put some screenshots in to go along with it.
- 1:02:36And I also made a video which you guys Rady Seen, which was actually a cut up
- 1:02:44of edited segmented version of last week's live stream.
- 1:02:48So in last week's live stream, I talked to you guys about connecting to the
- 1:02:51podcast index robot. And it's MCP and how I use that to improve my own
- 1:02:57podcast. And I cut that up into its own video.
- 1:03:02And again, it's just part of embracing the new side of the niche.
- 1:03:07I did not pivot. I did not pivot.
- 1:03:09I just added two. I added to the existing chat,
- 1:03:15the existing pivot. So Ron says, usually when I do something outside my niche, I
- 1:03:20lose subs. Yeah, it's going to depend on what your niche is.
- 1:03:25You know, if your niche is like, think about, think about walking the next
- 1:03:31chapter, right?
- 1:03:33And outdoors, walking,
- 1:03:36getting some exercise in nature channel that suddenly did a video about
- 1:03:42Pokemon cards like Fred does.
- 1:03:46He's going to, he's going to definitely alienate or at least confuse the people
- 1:03:51who are there for the walking stuff, right?
- 1:03:54Meanwhile, you know, Fred, Fred's got adventures out in the wild,
- 1:04:00visiting cemeteries, going on bike rides.
- 1:04:03But he talks about his other topics on those adventures.
- 1:04:09And then he also participates in those kinds of activities like opening up
- 1:04:13Pokemon cards, for example, or talking about the WNBA or soccer or stuff like
- 1:04:18that. The audience is already expecting that crossover.
- 1:04:22So I, I don't think that that really hurts Fred.
- 1:04:25I know Fred was kind of playing with the idea at Rob the Marientimer about maybe
- 1:04:29separating that out to a separate channel.
- 1:04:31And we talked about it. I don't think we ever came to a decision, but I know
- 1:04:35you'll make the right decision, Fred, whatever you end up doing, you're going to
- 1:04:37be successful at it. One way or the other, to be great.
- 1:04:42So Ron says, since you're going in a different direction, sort of, are you going
- 1:04:46to unlist some of your videos or do you even care about that?
- 1:04:49So that's a very good question, my man.
- 1:04:51When I first started doing outdoorsy nature, get away from the city type videos,
- 1:04:58I unlisted a ton of old motorcycle content.
- 1:05:02The channel started life as a motorcycle content channel, and I unlisted and hid
- 1:05:07some 1,500 videos that I had made over the previous nine years.
- 1:05:14And maybe that wasn't the right thing to do..
- 1:05:16I don't know. It didn't help me any.
- 1:05:18I can tell you that. It didn't help me any to unlist It didn't make the nature
- 1:05:24outdoorsy stuff grow any faster to hide the motorcycle stuff.
- 1:05:28Maybe keeping the motorcycle stuff up would have hurt me more, but I don't see
- 1:05:32how because it- didn't really grow anyway.
- 1:05:36I eventually ended up deleting most of those videos off the channel just because
- 1:05:40they were kind of cluttering up my view.
- 1:05:42It was kind of hard to navigate around and find the videos that I wanted to see
- 1:05:46because there were so many, you know, tons and tons of old videos that were
- 1:05:50irrelevant. So I actually ended up removing them, but I am not going to to
- 1:05:56answer your question. I'm not going to unlist anything now now
- 1:06:06sort of, but not really. Because this channel ever since I stopped doing the
- 1:06:10motorcycle stuff has been about helping people and it still is about helping
- 1:06:14people. And so it was trying to encourage people to get out of cities and get
- 1:06:18out into the green spaces because I wanted to help people.
- 1:06:21And then it was about trying to help people find some mental well-being and- and
- 1:06:26de-stress and find some mental peace by getting out into nature because I wanted
- 1:06:31to help people. And more recently I've been talking about other different ways
- 1:06:59to try and help people. And now I'm just trying to also fold into that.
- 1:07:06At least enough, you know, you don't have to be an expert.
- 1:07:09All you got to know is you got to know more than the next person over.
- 1:07:12Just the next person down.
- 1:07:14You can teach the next- there's scales of knowledge.
- 1:07:17You only need to know more than the person one notch down because you can share
- 1:07:22one thing with that person and you've helped right?
- 1:07:26So I might have 100 levels above me of knowledge that I want to get to and only
- 1:07:31let's say there's five levels below me of people who know less than me.
- 1:07:35I can help those five levels without knowing the 100 levels above me.
- 1:07:39I can still share whatever that gap of information and knowledge and
- 1:07:43experiences. That's how I'm going to help people.
- 1:07:46So, sorry, very long answer to a good question.
- 1:07:50I am not going to be unlisting or changing or taking off.
- 1:07:52I'm leaving all the nature and outdoors and walking and hiking and fishing and
- 1:07:56going into the Everglades and going to visit Mr.
- 1:07:59Chompy and going I'm looking for owls, the old burrowing owls and stuff like
- 1:08:05that. That's not going to leave the channel.
- 1:08:07I like it. So, good question though.
- 1:08:10Very good question.
- 1:08:12Jase says I got flac for doing different editing styles but I know you're a the
- 1:08:16kind of guy who cares what people think..
- 1:08:19You don't care what they say.
- 1:08:21Fred says I'm all over the place, LOL.
- 1:08:23Yeah, that's okay. You try a lot of different things and you wait till you find
- 1:08:27the one thing that works, man.
- 1:08:29When you find the one thing that works then you do another video like it, you
- 1:08:35know.
- 1:08:36CL says I like seeing different editing styles.
- 1:08:39It shows creativity to me.
- 1:08:40Yeah, I agree. I agree. Why should you want every single video to be the same,
- 1:08:45right? We don't want that.
- 1:08:47We don't want every video to be the same.
- 1:08:50Amy says I'm all over the place.
- 1:08:52I'm about adapting to the challenges.
- 1:08:55Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am.
- 1:08:58Brian uses the QQQ is community walk and talk and niche.
- 1:09:03First of all, QQQ doesn't do anything because unlike our friend Rob, I don't
- 1:09:07filter on that, but it is funny to see that.
- 1:09:13And in my opinion, yes, community walk and talk is absolutely a niche.
- 1:09:18And I think it's a popular one.
- 1:09:22You know what's really a niche?
- 1:09:23Your personality is a niche.
- 1:09:25Your way of speaking,
- 1:09:28the way you talk to your audience, the way you learn people's names who comment
- 1:09:32on your videos. If you do a live stream, and you meet the people and you
- 1:09:38remember them and you greet them, that's your niche.
- 1:09:42You know, when I see you guys' names on the screen in here, I feel like I know
- 1:09:46you like friends, like buddies I hang-out with all the time because we do hang
- 1:09:51-out all the time, whether it's in Discord or in the YouTube chat or in other
- 1:09:55people's live streams or in these live streams.
- 1:09:58That's the niche. To me, that's the niche.
- 1:10:01The thing that we call the niche is just the excuse to get to the family, the
- 1:10:06community here.
- 1:10:09This was the big video. The first kind of kicked it off where I basically just
- 1:10:13talked about Rob the Maritimer and the email with him saying, listen, I don't
- 1:10:17see it as competition. It's all of us helping each other.
- 1:10:21And basically Rob said, you know, if he helps me to help someone else, then
- 1:10:27that's a win for everybody, right?
- 1:10:30But that was a good video.
- 1:10:32119 views, not too shabby.
- 1:10:33A little bit on the high end for me.
- 1:10:35So that was kind of nice. So this is what the niche ended up saying once I
- 1:10:40rewrote it. And I did work a little bit with Mr.
- 1:10:43Gronk to help me word this nicely.
- 1:10:46You know, all the ideas are mine.
- 1:10:48None of this was Gronk's ideas, but he did help me phrase it a little bit.
- 1:10:53And then what I usually end up doing is going back and reading it the next day
- 1:10:57myself without Gronk or NEAI and sort of take out superfluous words.
- 1:11:04There's always extra words and extra wordiness that we can get rid of, you know?
- 1:11:09So like, there's a difference where this is the screenshot from the channel.
- 1:11:13This is this channel is for Gen X and Boomers.
- 1:11:16And I think I've paraphrased down that just say this is for, or this is Gen X
- 1:11:22and Boomers who are doing this thing, you know.
- 1:11:24So, yeah. So this channel is for Gen X and Boomers who are done being talked
- 1:11:30down about the modern technical world.
- 1:11:32Phones, AI, streaming, privacy, outrage, media, podcast, the tools that we're
- 1:11:37supposed to make life easier and often don't.
- 1:11:40We sort the frustrations from the useful in plain language without the hype.
- 1:11:44So that's kind of the new niche rewrite.
- 1:11:49That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
- 1:11:52Ron says, walk in, he says, walk and talk videos are good every once in a while,
- 1:11:58but really what I think is long form, more than 30 minute videos is where
- 1:12:02YouTube is going more like, yeah, more like Netflix.
- 1:12:04I agree. I think YouTube knows that a lot of people are watching on television
- 1:12:09just like our friend Dawn sitting there watching us on TV thinking about getting
- 1:12:13ready for her trip.
- 1:12:16And YouTube wants long content, for sure.
- 1:12:19I agree. And does that mean that they're gonna make long videos?
- 1:12:24Are they gonna suggest more, you know, long videos to more people?
- 1:12:28Maybe. Can you use that in your, can you use that in your, in your favor?
- 1:12:33Maybe. Try it. Let me know.
- 1:12:36I hope so. I think so.
- 1:12:39My videos aren't that short.
- 1:12:41They were for a long time.
- 1:12:42I was trying to keep them in eight minutes, eight or nine minutes.
- 1:12:45But I don't worry about that I just say what I want to say.
- 1:12:48And I like when Rob the Maritimer says, say what you got to say, but nothing
- 1:12:52more. Don't try and pad it.
- 1:12:54Don't try and speak slowly.
- 1:12:55Don't try and grow it artificially.
- 1:12:58Say as much as you can say.
- 1:13:00So that's why in the video I've been working on that's coming out soon.
- 1:13:04I talk about a few different topics in that video.
- 1:13:07Not because I'm trying to make it long, but basically as I was on a few errands
- 1:13:10in my car and I said, hey, here's some things I can talk about.
- 1:13:13Could I have split that up and made that into multiple videos?
- 1:13:16Yeah. But I ain't got time to be releasing a bunch of videos.
- 1:13:20The week is already short as it is.
- 1:13:21I got a video on Monday. I got a video on Friday.
- 1:13:23I got a live stream on Wednesday.
- 1:13:26Just throw everything out there and let's just let everybody enjoy it all.
- 1:13:29Let them have it. That's what I say.
- 1:13:32CL says I'm making videos that help you take a power nap.
- 1:13:37That's not true. That's not true at all.
- 1:13:39Hello there, Granny. How is it going?
- 1:13:42I was enjoying your live stream.
- 1:13:44What was it last night? Right, Granny?
- 1:13:45I didn't get a chance to drop in.
- 1:13:46Never even left a comment, but I was there.
- 1:13:49That happens a lot. A lot of times I'll be driving, and I can't say any
- 1:13:52comments, but I'm there.
- 1:13:55Ron says that's some good advice, learn your commenters' names and call them
- 1:13:59out. Yeah, community is where it's at and you can't fake it, buddy.
- 1:14:02Create it. 100% correct.
- 1:14:05I like to remember people's-real names as well as their usernames, like our
- 1:14:09friend resident-rev.secutioner here goes by Moby Ick in Discord, but he is
- 1:14:15really J.
- 1:14:20Let's see.
- 1:14:22So on the topic of the niche re-write there, this is kind of where we landed.
- 1:14:27Everybody, we're still the cool kids table.
- 1:14:29Nothing's changing. As far as the name of the channel, I did name it.
- 1:14:33I guess I could show you this to you in Chrome.
- 1:14:36It's not a really big change, but it's just minor.
- 1:14:38I think CL was the first person to point it out.
- 1:14:41Jenny saw it.
- 1:14:43The channel is Scott Auld,
- 1:14:57maybe I didn't need to do that.
- 1:14:59Maybe I shouldn't have done that.
- 1:15:00a I don't know. I just felt like it.
- 1:15:02It just felt like being me.
- 1:15:03I just felt like being me, but the cool kids table isn't going anywhere.
- 1:15:10These are some screenshots of CL's pre- hurricane updates that she was giving us,
- 1:15:14which just kind of reminded me that this is a community.
- 1:15:17It is a family. This is a group of a friends.
- 1:15:19This is a group of people who care about each other.
- 1:15:22All of us were worried about CL.
- 1:15:23All of us were praying for her and for her community and her area.
- 1:15:27And it's not just a bunch of people watching YouTube channels leaving comments
- 1:15:31and being stupid.
- 1:15:3415 years ago, there was a saying about YouTube and the comment section,
- 1:15:43and it said the you I'm sorry, I got a yawn coming on.
- 1:15:47It said the YouTube comment section.
- 1:15:49You will never find a more wicked hive of scum and villainy, but it's not
- 1:15:55true anymore. The YouTube comment section is not a place of strife and
- 1:16:02argumentation and evil and pain and suffering like it used to be.
- 1:16:26It so I had CL says you better be petting Suzuki around that chaotic YouTube
- 1:16:32schedule. She is in my lap more often than she's not.
- 1:16:36Trust me, she is. I don't know where she is tonight.
- 1:16:40She kind of be doing something cool because I haven't seen her tonight since I
- 1:16:43started live streaming.
- 1:16:45But she's here a lot. So I did a big thing this past week.
- 1:16:49I did a major migration on my podcast.
- 1:16:53Oh,
- 1:16:56and Porsche Piper, if you're still here, you know, I recommend new podcasters
- 1:17:01who are just getting used to it.
- 1:17:03Start with a hosting website like fireside rss
- 1:17:08.com or R-S-N-L-I-B-S-Y-N.
- 1:17:13Library Sync is what that stands for.
- 1:17:15I had been using fireside for quite a long time for.
- 1:17:20Probably since last spring and putting my putting my YouTube live stream
- 1:17:27audio files on fireside and hosting it as a podcast.
- 1:17:32I still think it's a great service.
- 1:17:35It's not expensive. It's a great service for someone just getting into
- 1:17:38podcasting. But I'm not just getting into podcasting and I wanted to take more
- 1:17:43control. So I wanted to migrate my podcast over to my self-hosted VPS
- 1:17:49server.
- 1:17:51So I said to my friend Gronk, I need you to come up with a project plan for a
- 1:17:57migration of my podcast from fireside to my own server.
- 1:18:04And I want you to come up with a plan.
- 1:18:06I want you to write some goals and I want you to write a test plan, a validation
- 1:18:12and test plan so that we know we succeeded.
- 1:18:16And so you can see up here he gave us some goals.
- 1:18:18Move winning the week with Scott Auld from fireside.fm to a self-hosted inter
- 1:18:23-server VPS under the existing domain Scott Auld.org, preserve listeners and
- 1:18:28directing. By using the fireside 301 direct, that's the way that podcast.
- 1:18:33Podcasts use a feature called 301.
- 1:18:36If you, you move it from one place to another, you never want to just go create
- 1:18:39it at the new place willy-nilly.
- 1:18:42The right plan at a high level is set up the new location, copy the stuff
- 1:18:48off the old location onto the new location, but keep it on the old location for
- 1:18:52about 30 to 60 days and then turn on redirecting and redirecting from the old
- 1:18:57place to the new place means every time anybody comes to your podcast to get
- 1:19:01your newest episode, they get told it's over there now and they go over there
- 1:19:05and get it. And that's called a 301 redirect.
- 1:19:08So that's part of the plan.
- 1:19:10And you can see some core principles back here in the back that Gronk came up
- 1:19:15with. Current feed URL is going to have a pointer to the new feeder.
- 1:19:19Keep the fireside podcast up, preserve the original GUID files so that all of
- 1:19:25the old episodes were. Still marked as read or listened to in people's podcast
- 1:19:30apps. I didn't want people to see 67 new episodes and think that which one that
- 1:19:35I listened to and like if they had listened halfway through an episode, I didn't
- 1:19:39want them to lose that right.
- 1:19:41And so you can see phase one of the plan here is inventory everything that's on
- 1:19:46fireside. Confirm the live feed is this.
- 1:19:49Download every MP3. Note the total storage that's needed.
- 1:19:54We're going to need to know that on the new place.
- 1:19:56Confirm the feed path and folder layout for the new location.
- 1:20:00So we came up with what that was going to be over at scotall.org and you guys
- 1:20:04don't need to know that to find the podcast.
- 1:20:06You just search for the podcast but in the back and it's hosted on scotall.org
- 1:20:10now.
- 1:20:12And you can see phase two was prepare the folders on the existing server.
- 1:20:17So on the new server I mean we created all these new folders.
- 1:20:22We created a new path. We created some folders to hold the files.
- 1:20:25Phase three build the new feed and we staged it but we didn't turn it on and
- 1:20:30make it public yet. So we uploaded the MP3s.
- 1:20:33And this is the plan a but you can see all these green check marks, which means
- 1:20:37we did it. So after the plan was created, I just walked through this step one
- 1:20:42step at a time with Gronk at my side walking me through every's single step.
- 1:20:48And this sounds like a complicated plan but we just basically went through phase
- 1:20:52one step A phase one, step B, phase one, step C.
- 1:20:56And I told Gronk at some point I need some phase numbers and I need some step
- 1:21:01numbers or letters so I can keep track of where we are.
- 1:21:04Let's have these check marks to remind us what we finished, and Gronk put all
- 1:21:07that in there. Every time we finished a step I said print the project plan and
- 1:21:11he showed it to me with the green check marks, right?
- 1:21:14Phase three, build the new phase.
- 1:21:15We keep the feed generation method simple validate the staged feed with multiple
- 1:21:20tools. Step E, do not publish the new fee URL anywhere or unable it until
- 1:21:26validation is clean. And then we had phase four, which was the cut over.
- 1:21:31And step A was in fireside.
- 1:21:33We went to advanced and we enabled the new feed URL as a redirect.
- 1:21:40and then we validated and verified that fireside was pointing people to the new
- 1:21:44redirect. And then step C, we left and this is not checked because it's still
- 1:21:49going on to this day. Leave the fireside podcast and redirect in place for 30 to
- 1:21:5460 days. Don't delete it yet ongoing.
- 1:21:59And then as you can see the next step was over at GoDaddy.
- 1:22:02That's my host that has the DNS.
- 1:22:04Update the existing forwarder.
- 1:22:06I used to have podcast.winningtheweek.org pointing to the FM fireside website
- 1:22:12and I pointed it to a new feed URL so that it went to the new place.
- 1:22:16You know, a new web page for the podcast.
- 1:22:20Step E, publish any new episodes only to the new feed.
- 1:22:23So that's what I'm doing now.
- 1:22:24Any new episodes that come out like tomorrow morning, those are going to get
- 1:22:27pushed to the new feed, which the old feed is pointing at the new feed.
- 1:22:31And then step F is ongoing.
- 1:22:33Monitor directories over the following days.
- 1:22:35Most will pick up the redirects.
- 1:22:36I've been following directories like the podcast index and Apple iTunes and
- 1:22:40Spotify to make sure they're are all correctly pointing at the new one now.
- 1:22:46Step G, decide the exact destination for GoDaddy Forward.
- 1:22:49We already took care of that.
- 1:22:50And the last phase was phase five.
- 1:22:52That's the post migration test plan.
- 1:22:55Very important. Step A, we confirmed the old fireside feed returns to 301.
- 1:23:00It did. We confirmed the new feed is valid.
- 1:23:03It was. We test the playback of several existing episodes.
- 1:23:07They worked. I went through several podcast applications on my phone and on the
- 1:23:11computer and tested that multiple episodes played correctly on those podcast
- 1:23:16apps.
- 1:23:18Step D, check the VPS logs for successful downloads.
- 1:23:22The worked.
- 1:23:24Step B, confirm artwork and show notes render correctly.
- 1:23:27They did. We took care of all that.
- 1:23:29Step F, verify the GoDaddy Forward was working.
- 1:23:32Yes, it was. Everything was good and hunky dory.
- 1:23:34So the next few steps here are just things to do over the next one to two weeks.
- 1:23:39And I'm still working through all of this stuff and it's really not a big deal.
- 1:23:42Just making sure that everything's rocking and rolling.
- 1:23:45And the pod, I would say this podcast migration is successful.
- 1:23:50I did it basically on a Saturday.
- 1:23:52I spent, I don't know, I think I spent an hour and a half to two hours on the
- 1:23:58project. Doing the steps interrupted by lunch.
- 1:24:01At the end of the, at the end of the session, I did ask Gronk,
- 1:24:07take out any long pauses between comments because that was probably me going to
- 1:24:11the bathroom or making lunch or something and estimate how long
- 1:24:16this project took. So we had about really less than two hours of actual work.
- 1:24:20And this is the kind of move that if I had just tried to do this myself through
- 1:24:23documentation, that would have taken, oh my gosh, days and days of work.
- 1:24:31So what do I got here? Did I make separate sheets?
- 1:24:33Yeah, I made separate sheets for all these.
- 1:24:35I should have been showing you guys these screens as I was working through those
- 1:24:38screens. It'd be a lot easier for you to read, but too late now.
- 1:24:42But you can see these screens and we had all the phases and we went through the
- 1:24:47steps and everything's working and everything's hunky dory.
- 1:24:52I will also show you something else.
- 1:24:54I came up as a separate project unrelated to the migration.
- 1:24:58If you've never seen a podcast feed, this is what a podcast feed looks like.
- 1:25:02And by the way, PorchPiper, if this looks too intimidating or Ron or anybody
- 1:25:07who's thinking about podcasting, you guys don't have to worry about any of this
- 1:25:10stuff.
- 1:25:11I still recommend new podcasters go to Fireside and do it the easy way, which is
- 1:25:16through a web browser and you upload and type in the name of your episode and
- 1:25:21upload your MP3 and hit publish.
- 1:25:22And that's all you gotta do.
- 1:25:24But I'm geeking out on this kind of stuff.
- 1:25:26I wanted to share it with you because I find this kind of stuff pretty
- 1:25:28interesting. So this is a typical XML file for a podcast feed.
- 1:25:34This is for my Northwest Broward podcast, which is a hyper-local news podcast
- 1:25:39that I'm doing for my area.
- 1:25:43And it looks complicated. It looks like a lot of crazy stuff.
- 1:25:46But this section down right here is basically one episode.
- 1:25:50Everything above this is just defining the name of the podcast and the date that
- 1:25:55it was last put out and some some tags like who owns it and what's the
- 1:26:01location and a unique ID. There's a section right here in the middle, which is
- 1:26:07basically like a referral service that I say here's some other podcasts that I
- 1:26:11like, right? There's a podcast here that I like.
- 1:26:15Podcasting 2.0. There's a podcast here that I like.
- 1:26:19No Agenda. There's a podcast here that I like called We Get to Do This.
- 1:26:22There's a podcast here called PBD.
- 1:26:24Here's a podcast, The Tolkien Professor,
- 1:26:27DH Unplugged, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History.
- 1:26:29So that section right there is just other podcasts you kind of like, right?
- 1:26:35Here's the iTunes code just so you can get into the iTunes thing.
- 1:26:39But what's important is this section down here.
- 1:26:42This is one episode. I'm going to zoom in so we can more easily see one episode
- 1:26:47right here. That's block, item.
- 1:26:50And at the bottom it says end item.
- 1:26:52This is all the code that basically defines one- one episode.
- 1:26:56It's got a title. Episode 3, Northwest Broward Podcast News for October 9th.
- 1:27:02And then we have a link. There's a link to the website and then we have a
- 1:27:05publication date.
- 1:27:27That's the MP3 file that plays when you click on the podcast, right?
- 1:27:31And then you see these next two lines that are right down here, podcast
- 1:27:34transcript and podcast chapters.
- 1:27:36Well, if you put these two lines in your podcast feed, it creates a transcript
- 1:27:43in the podcast player for people to be able to read and see what you said.
- 1:27:47And it's really good for like closed captioning.
- 1:27:50But you have to come up with a transcript of your audio file yourself.
- 1:27:54And then the next line there, you see podcast chapters.
- 1:27:58Oh my goodness.
- 1:28:00Chapters, as you guys know from YouTube, is basically just a list of time
- 1:28:03-stamped titles for when you talk about different things in your channel, in
- 1:28:08your videos, and in a podcast.
- 1:28:11So, there's two separate files they get created.
- 1:28:15And each of these two lines in the item are pointing to these two separate files
- 1:28:19that I've got kind of screenshotted down at the bottom.
- 1:28:22The one in the bottom left is the transcript of the podcast.
- 1:28:26So, you can see time-stamped zero says it's September 30, 2026.
- 1:28:30And this is episode two of the blah, blah, blah.
- 1:28:33And then at eight seconds, it says, hello Coral Springs, Parkland, Margate, and
- 1:28:37Tamarick. And then down here at 17 seconds, it says the Northwest Broward
- 1:28:41podcast is part of the Winning the Week Network, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:28:44And then 29 seconds says, visit Northwest Broward.
- 1:28:46So, basically this is a line by line time- stamped transcript of every single
- 1:28:53thing I say. And you can imagine how tedious that would be to come up with.
- 1:28:57and on the right, a separate file here that has all of my time stamps.
- 1:29:01Start time zero seconds, 34 seconds, 39 seconds, 125 seconds.
- 1:29:06Each one of these are a different chapter like the intro, the news, amendment
- 1:29:10three, Margate fair got canceled, DEI, value for value, and outro, right?
- 1:29:17Well, I didn't want to make these transcripts and I didn't want to make these
- 1:29:20chapter files. So I went to my buddy Grunk and I started up a bot.
- 1:29:26A separate bot is basically a reusable chat R that you can use over and over and
- 1:29:32drag things onto. And I told this bot, I said, listen, you are my podcast
- 1:29:36transcript and chapter bot.
- 1:29:39I will give you an MP3 file of the format and I gave it a file name.
- 1:29:43You will transcribe this MP3 file into a podcast ready transcript file.
- 1:29:49Used a small English model.
- 1:29:51That's the one model that does all the transcript and AI that uses the least
- 1:29:56amount of tokens. I said, the transcript file name will follow the naming
- 1:29:59convention of the MP3 file I gave you.
- 1:30:01So whatever the MP3 file is called, that's what I want the transcript file to be
- 1:30:05called to. And then I said, you will examine the context of the discussion in
- 1:30:10the MP3 file and create a podcast ready chapters file similarly naming it after
- 1:30:15the MP3 file. Finally, you'll create a third text file that contains the two
- 1:30:20lines. Basically, these two lines that I showed you here.
- 1:30:23I said, your last job bot is to create these two text file lines and put them in
- 1:30:27here. So you got three jobs.
- 1:30:30You're going to create a transcript.
- 1:30:31You're going to create a list of chapters.
- 1:30:32You're going to create this other file that's got these two lines.
- 1:30:35You'll put these into three text files in a zip file called this and make it
- 1:30:39available to me. And I'm going to give you the MP3 files.
- 1:30:42If I give you multiple MP3 files at once, you'll create a separate zip file.
- 1:30:46Do you got all that Gronk?
- 1:30:48Well, my buddy Gronk replied said, got it.
- 1:30:50I've saved this as my standing job.
- 1:30:53One other thing to settle, your chapter line points to this, but you asked for
- 1:30:57the file to be named this, so the link would match.
- 1:30:59So it even noticed a typo in my instructions, right?
- 1:31:03So good job Gronk bot. You're my new bot.
- 1:31:06So I told it, okay, I've made a choice.
- 1:31:08I said, name it this and he goes, okay, done.
- 1:31:10I'll name it this so it matches up.
- 1:31:11You want to send over your first MP3?
- 1:31:14And I said, I tried dragging whenever and it said it's too big.
- 1:31:17It said it's over 150 megs, but it wasn't.
- 1:31:20It was only 75, 79 meg megabyte file.
- 1:31:23So I said to Gronk here, why are you rejecting a 79 megabyte file if the limit's
- 1:31:28150? Well, Gronk here said, the file never reached me, so the rejection is
- 1:31:33happening before I can see it.
- 1:31:34Why don't you put it in Google Drive and I'll get it?
- 1:31:37I said, oh man, if we're going to use Google Drive, you might as well put the
- 1:31:41three text files in the same folder in Google Drive instead of zipping it.
- 1:31:44And Gronk said, yeah, it makes sense.
- 1:31:46For drive files, I'll skip the zip and put the three files right into Google
- 1:31:50Drive.
- 1:31:51I said, okay, first, print out the full instructions for this bot so I can make
- 1:31:55sure we're on the same page.
- 1:31:56And it did it. He said, you give me the MP3, I transcribe it, I read through it
- 1:32:00and make chapters. I make a text file with these two lines.
- 1:32:04It looks like this. If an MP3 came through chat, I zip it.
- 1:32:08If it came through Google Drive, I put it in Google Drive.
- 1:32:11And if there are several at once, each one gets its own thing.
- 1:32:13Are you ready? What's your first MP3?
- 1:32:16Give me an MP3. So, I answered this question, one last question about what we
- 1:32:20should name this file and goes, okay, which MP3 in Drive should I start with?
- 1:32:24I said, okay, start with episode 69.
- 1:32:26That was my most recent one.
- 1:32:28It says, okay, got it. Grabbing it.
- 1:32:30I'm working on it. The transcript is running.
- 1:32:32A long episode can take a while.
- 1:32:34I'll send you the chapter list when it's done.
- 1:32:36Because I found it in the drive, but I couldn't download it because my drive
- 1:32:39connection only reads text documents, not audio.
- 1:32:41That also means I can't save the three files back files back to the folder so
- 1:32:44nothing's been made yet. Dagnabbit.
- 1:32:47So, he said, well, how do you want to get it to?
- 1:32:49You can share the link R in Google Drive.
- 1:32:51He thought of this. Gronk thought about that.
- 1:32:53Share the file in Google Drive the way you share files and either share me a
- 1:32:58link or I'll shrink it. I said, all right, man.
- 1:33:00I'll thought about it. I don't want you to put the three in the text files in
- 1:33:02the drive. That just makes more work.
- 1:33:04After you finish, I'll get the zips here no matter what.
- 1:33:06He says, okay, no problem.
- 1:33:08Share the file in Google Drive and I said, can I just share this whole folder
- 1:33:12with you? He goes, yeah, that's a good idea.
- 1:33:15Share the folder in Google Drive where the MP3 files live.
- 1:33:18I said, okay, in that case, you can start working on
- 1:33:41episodes of my podcast. As you guys know, we're on live stream episode 70
- 1:33:45tonight, which is going to be podcast episode tomorrow.
- 1:33:49So he had 69 to work on and he got busy and it took about 24 hours to go
- 1:33:53through, but he did all the work.
- 1:33:54He made the chapter file. He made the transcript file and he made the code file.
- 1:34:00So I didn't want to be the one to put all that code into that big file.
- 1:34:06I wanted him to insert those two lines.
- 1:34:08So I said, listen, I'm giving you my podcast XML file and I'm giving you a text
- 1:34:13file that has all that junk that you just made for me.
- 1:34:17I want you to rewrite it. You do the work.
- 1:34:19He goes, yeah, I can do that.
- 1:34:21I'll do all the work. I'll locate it.
- 1:34:23I'll put it in there and I'll give it back to you.
- 1:34:25So I dropped the file on his head and Grunky got to work and he said 45 seconds
- 1:34:30later, he goes, I'm done something that would have taken me three or four hours
- 1:34:34of editing in text files. What I did, I inserted two lines.
- 1:34:37I use the exact six space index.
- 1:34:39I left every blank line if there was any blank lines because I didn't want I'm
- 1:34:43messing up my formatting. He says, these three episodes, which I already had,
- 1:34:47I'll deal with those later.
- 1:34:49Here's the file. Boom, hit download.
- 1:34:51Well, that's the end of the story.
- 1:34:54So boom, it only took about 30 minutes to put chapters
- 1:35:00and transcripts in 69 episodes of a podcast.
- 1:35:05Something that would have taken me probably a couple of days of work and writing
- 1:35:09the transcripts and writing the chapters.
- 1:35:15I don't want to do that kind of lazy work.
- 1:35:16So now I can just go back to my bot and drag an MP3 on him and he does all the
- 1:35:21work for me. It saved me so much time and not to mention the migration itself
- 1:35:26onto my own server, my VPS server.
- 1:35:29My goodness, that would have taken so long.
- 1:35:32Let's take a simultaneous sip.
- 1:35:33I've been talking a long time because we got to get into our producer shoutouts.
- 1:35:38But before we do that, let's jump into the chat.
- 1:35:42Let's jump into the chat and see if I missed anything.
- 1:35:45What did that say? I'm being honest.
- 1:35:47Just being honest. I think I missed a comment.
- 1:35:50Just being honest who you really are is the most valuable niche we have to
- 1:35:53offer. Correct, Porchpiper Tom.
- 1:35:55Good point, buddy.
- 1:35:59CL says, I had so many comments when we finally got power and internet back that
- 1:36:02it took forever to respond to them all.
- 1:36:04That's pretty funny. I enjoyed every bit of it.
- 1:36:07Very good. Hello there, Dr.
- 1:36:09Didier Geopolitica. He says, I went from theology channel to a geopolitics
- 1:36:15channel. I have reached 93,000 subs.
- 1:36:18But there's always a button.
- 1:36:19For the last three months, I have been stuck.
- 1:36:22By the way, I'm 64 years young.
- 1:36:23Well, I tell you what, 93,000 subs ain't too shabby, buddy.
- 1:36:28Congratulations. That's awesome.
- 1:36:31From a theology channel to
- 1:36:37a
- 1:36:42video
- 1:36:44talking about something that's in the news that happens and you get the video
- 1:36:49out the same day. Can you do that?
- 1:36:52Dr. Didier Geopolitica. That's an interesting name, by the way.
- 1:36:59Could youI make a video the same day some breaking news happens and get it out
- 1:37:03the same day? Is that too difficult?
- 1:37:07Amy says, oh, Lordy, I cannot talk 30 minutes.
- 1:37:11Maybe if I did one video a week.
- 1:37:15I'm getting caught up on the chat, guys.
- 1:37:17I know it seems like I'm way behind on the chat because I was talking for so
- 1:37:20long, but not really- The negative commenters on YouTube were still around just
- 1:37:24on the other millions of channels, just not on our channel, exactly, correct.
- 1:37:30Ron says, I don't delete the comments unless they're really bad, like all of
- 1:37:34them good or bad. You guys know what I do when somebody makes a jerk troll,
- 1:37:38comment or insults or says, cut your hair, you hippie or anything like that.
- 1:37:42I pin those comments. I pin my trolls so that the rest of the world can see that
- 1:37:47person making a fool of themselves.
- 1:37:53Tom says, I quit worrying about what other people think about my looks due to my
- 1:37:56disability a long time ago.
- 1:37:57It's a difficult challenge but very doable.
- 1:38:00You are inspiring, my friend.
- 1:38:03You guys wouldn't know it from watching his channel or his livestreams, but
- 1:38:06Tom's only been livestreaming about three weeks now, took to it like a fish to
- 1:38:11water, I tell you.
- 1:38:15See, the CL, I know the CL is somebody like me.
- 1:38:18I always sit near the exit with my back to the wall.
- 1:38:20I always got to be sitting where I can see the entrance to the room.
- 1:38:26You know?
- 1:38:28Go, Amy, go. Your confidence is up now.
- 1:38:31You got this, Amy. You're much better at this than you think you are.
- 1:38:36You know that?
- 1:38:38Hey, look who dropped in. Catherine says, hey, our power went out again.
- 1:38:41Back on now, it went out during my live.
- 1:38:43Oh, did it get you get knocked off of your livestream there, Catherine?
- 1:38:47Boomer. I'm glad you made it over here.
- 1:38:49I made that little hit and run visit to your livestream there and I actually
- 1:38:53livestreamed your livestream for a second there.
- 1:38:55I brought your livestream up on my livestream.
- 1:38:58Left a comment on there for you and we all got to see you livestreaming for a
- 1:39:02second.
- 1:39:05Fred, you want to visit Northwest Broward County?
- 1:39:07Come on by, buddy. I'll take you out for the best lunch you'll have, my man.
- 1:39:12We'll have a good time.
- 1:39:14CL says, Scott's going to be a supervisor of the worker bots.
- 1:39:17He'll be rewarded by the bot overlords.
- 1:39:19Hey, listen, I for one welcome our robot overlords.
- 1:39:23I read a lot of sci-fi magazines when I was a kid.
- 1:39:26Me too, CL. Lots and lots of Isaac Asimov, and all kinds of that stuff.
- 1:39:31Oh, man, Omni magazine and sci-fi anthology magazines and
- 1:39:38short stories. Such good stuff.
- 1:39:40One of my favorites. I'll tell you one of my favorites.
- 1:39:43The moon is a harsh mistress.
- 1:39:45Never read that one, CL.
- 1:39:48That
- 1:39:51is... Oh, I wrote...
- 1:39:54Speaking of Grok, who wrote Stranger in a Strange Land?
- 1:40:03My brain is wanting to say Missioner, but it's not Missioner.
- 1:40:06Who's a science fiction writer.
- 1:40:08Stranger in a Strange Land.
- 1:40:09That's where the word Grok comes from..
- 1:40:11Anyway, he wrote, The moon is a harsh mistress.
- 1:40:16I could almost see it on my bookcase.
- 1:40:19You guys know who the author is.
- 1:40:21You know who I mean.
- 1:40:23Amy says, That would be funny, CL.
- 1:40:25I can't imagine having multiple bots.
- 1:40:27I only have one kept man. Not a man, but I pay for my AI assistant each month.
- 1:40:31So, Sam is a kept man. That's pretty funny.
- 1:40:35Yep.
- 1:40:37Looks like we lost Jay. Jay had to go.
- 1:40:39Take care of business.
- 1:40:42Very cool. Hey, Mac. Moving.
- 1:40:44How's it going? So, I'm still screen recording to get my stuff.
- 1:40:47Yeah, that's totally cool.
- 1:40:48I was recording here in Ecamm.
- 1:40:51This Ecamm software, this live streaming software.
- 1:40:54If you guys want to see what it looks like, I.ll show it to you real quick.
- 1:40:57Let's go to my desktop and show you my desktop and turn on this button.
- 1:41:00It turns on live demo mode.
- 1:41:01This is what Ecamm live looks like.
- 1:41:04And you can see all these palettes.
- 1:41:05And this is my live streaming window right here.
- 1:41:10And everything else is in the background.
- 1:41:12Over here is the comments.
- 1:41:13Well, this will live stream, but also just record.
- 1:41:15So, I use it to record a video that I put out last week.
- 1:41:20I'm going to turn that back off.
- 1:41:21There we go. Get everything back to normal.
- 1:41:26But that video that I walked everybody on how to go through using MCP robots and
- 1:41:31stuff. b I used Ecamm live to record my screen.
- 1:41:36Not difficult. There's a lot of different tools that will do that.
- 1:41:39Jenny wants to know how many comments we are up to 610.
- 1:41:43We are nearly at 800. We're 75% of the way there.
- 1:41:49Jenny's getting tired, turned into a pumpkin.
- 1:41:51It is getting late. Coming up on 10 o'clock.
- 1:41:53Let's do the producer shout outs guys.
- 1:41:55We got to get through the producer shout outs because I went through all the
- 1:41:58extra work to pretty them all up and make them all look super nice and
- 1:42:01everything else. So, why don't we do that?
- 1:42:04I want you guys all to remember, by the way, you're not a consumer.
- 1:42:07You are producers. You guys support the channel here with value for value.
- 1:42:12You guys know how value. For value works.
- 1:42:15I don't hide anything behind a paywall.
- 1:42:17Everything's available. You get to see it all.
- 1:42:19You get any value out of the live stream or the podcast or the videos.
- 1:42:24Put a number on it, decide what it's worth and send it back in the form of time,
- 1:42:27talent or treasure. You guys leaving comments, visiting the live stream, hanging
- 1:42:33out here. That's your time.
- 1:42:34That's your talent. And if you want to go to donate.winningtheweek.org and leave
- 1:42:39a financial donation, I love that.
- 1:42:42You guys are super generous.
- 1:42:43Mike hit me with a surprise out of nowhere.
- 1:42:46Mike's Adventure Spark's super generous.
- 1:42:50I don't know if he wants me saying how much he donated.
- 1:42:53Unexpectedly, not. Rnot in the middle of a live stream, but he hit me with the
- 1:42:56donate.winningtheweek.org, which really just funnels money over to PayPal, is
- 1:43:00all that is, is just a PayPal link.
- 1:43:03So, Mike, if you want to tell people how much you donated, you can where tell
- 1:43:06them.. I thought that was super generous of you and you're a good bud.
- 1:43:11So, let's get into our producer shout outs, everybody.
- 1:43:14I just talked about value for value, so I don't need to talk about that again.
- 1:43:19Here's everybody who was a producer last week on episode 69.
- 1:43:23You guys knew who you were.
- 1:43:25All things Ron, Amy, Blonde Traveling, Gypsy, Catherine's Fabulous 60s, Kyle,

- 1:43:51Matthew, I think Matthew Stump, is that, Matthew Stump, is that Sally's Matthew
- 1:43:56or is that a different Matthew?
- 1:43:57You guys gotta tell me on that one.
- 1:43:59I think that might be Sally's Matthew, right?
- 1:44:01Mike's Adventure Sparks, Mike's Adventure itself, that's the second channel.
- 1:44:05Miss M was here, Devon was here,
- 1:44:09Not Winning the Week, there's a channel or a bot

- 1:44:47that Devon bought earlier, five memberships I believe, it's going to put us over
- 1:44:51100 members. Lori has been a member for 11 months now, if you can b.
- 1:44:58And Mike's Adventure Sparks is up there at 9.
- 1:45:01We've got Amy, I'm sorry Ali and Glenn and the Age of Retiree.
- 1:45:07At 8 months as a member, the Traveling Woodcombs have been a member for 7
- 1:45:11months, that's crazy.
- 1:45:13G-G-G and Daniel have been members for 6 months, amazing.

- 1:45:21Appreciate every single one of you guys.
- 1:45:23This is value for value in action and if you want to become a member, it's only
- 1:45:26like a dollar. It's only a dollar a month or something like that.
- 1:45:35Did, did anybody remember the name of that book?
- 1:45:37The author? In the chat, I'm just scanning the chat.
- 1:45:40Yeah Robert Heinlein, very good Brenda,
- 1:45:43very good Brenda. 50 points for Gryffindor.
- 1:45:49Good work, Robert Heinlein, I knew somebody in the chat would help us out with
- 1:45:53that. So our executive producers, the people who keep this channel afloat, keep
- 1:45:58us running, keep r us motivated, hit us up with the value for value.
- 1:46:03Lori Soul Circle, this is a great post from her school.
- 1:46:08Ron was asking about the school before, so Lori's got a school and she's doing
- 1:46:13Lori's Soul Circle Live every other Tuesday, noon-Eastern time in school.
- 1:46:18She's doing basically like a live stream, get together, hang out,
- 1:46:23group chat session ring at the school.
- 1:46:28C, CL Fantasy Waves R Studio, of course everybody loves CL a beautiful kitty
- 1:46:33cats. She's got a relaxing YouTube channel, awesome stuff, lots of videos she
- 1:46:37thinks that puts everybody to sleep, but it doesn't, a she's got great music.
- 1:46:42And I could take that thing off of the bottom where where I say, what's Inktober
- 1:46:46precious? Because we got the answer to that last week, didn't we?
- 1:46:49So I should take that off.
- 1:46:50But keep up the good work with your talking on your videos, CL.
- 1:46:54I love videos where you speak, you should talk a little bit more, like all the
- 1:46:59way through the video. That would be super cool and groovy.
- 1:47:03Jennie, aka Life with Gen X Values, Jen is focused on the specific life
- 1:47:10experiences and challenges of these homeboys called Gen X.
- 1:47:14Gen Explorer seems relevant to this group of people, often addressing the unique
- 1:47:19stress. We don't face any stress.
- 1:47:21What are you talking about, Jen?
- 1:47:22Gen X is the most unstressed group of people in the history history of
- 1:47:27the world. But if there is any stress, Jen's got you covered.
- 1:47:33Don't forget that Fred finds out is hosting a Halloween murder mystery on
- 1:47:38October 30th in Discord. He needs people to join.

- 1:48:10summer sale at shop.winningtheweek.
- 1:48:15Mike's Adventure Spark still camping in his new camper at the new spot.

- 1:48:37in the chat tonight. Springboard breaks down the stories everyone's talking
- 1:48:41about. Challenges, assumptions, refuses to treat any party or narrative as
- 1:48:45sacred. It's a very political channel.
- 1:48:48He's got honest disagreement is one of the fastest ways to learn something new.
- 1:48:53And America gets better when every day people speak up instead of waiting for
- 1:48:57permission. Yeah, but what about Canada today?
- 1:49:00Springboard. If America gets better, what happens to Canada when everybody
- 1:49:06speaks up instead of waiting for permission?
- 1:49:09You don't want to ignore our beloved Canada didadian friends, man.
- 1:49:13If you ignore them too much they go out to Tim Hortons and then you.
- 1:49:15You don't see him again. So you gotta you gotta rewrite your you gotta rewrite
- 1:49:20your shout-out to include our beloved friends from the Great White North.
- 1:49:25Our newest executive producer pal here is Steve
- 1:49:30Fuer keeping it pure. His channel is about building a YouTube channel in public
- 1:49:36documenting YouTube growth and outdoor content.
- 1:49:39Steve's aiming to pass 500 subscribers before Christmas so it would be super
- 1:49:43cool. If you guys could go subscribe to Steve Fuer F U I R and
- 1:49:49you know what I should do?
- 1:49:51I think I have the ability if I was super cool
- 1:49:58I think I can put the link to his channel in the chat.
- 1:50:02Would that be a good thing?
- 1:50:04Because a lot of us are not subscribed to him.
- 1:50:05Some of you guys don't have his subscription.
- 1:50:07So there's a link to his channel so you guys can find him and sub.
- 1:50:12He is currently at 328 subscribers and he wants 500 by Christmas.
- 1:50:17So let's help him out. If you think his channel is something you're interested
- 1:50:21in, don't subscribe to somebody just trying to be friendly.
- 1:50:25Subscribe to somebody if you're interested in their channel.
- 1:50:28But he does have an interesting channel.
- 1:50:32We are at 659 comments well on our way to 800.
- 1:50:39Okay, Jenna Sam and Allie.
- 1:50:41I'll drop into Discord tomorrow and sign up.
- 1:50:44Okay, cool for the Fred thing.
- 1:50:46Excellent. We got Amy in. We got Jenny in,
- 1:50:50hopefully got Allie in there.
- 1:50:53I'm hoping.
- 1:50:56Let's see. I was just looking to see in Discord if there was anything I just
- 1:50:59missed but I don't think so which is good.
- 1:51:01The traveling Whitcomb's YouTube channel features Brandon and Ashton their
- 1:51:05journey together up in Wisconsin.
- 1:51:07Hanging hanging out with beautiful baby Charlotte and their fun trips out into
- 1:51:10the wild. And they go to some cool museums and all kinds of neat stuff.
- 1:51:15They're taking us on all kinds of cool adventures.
- 1:51:18Look at this beautiful graphic that our friend Allie G fishing with Allie G sent
- 1:51:22me. Allie focuses on the joys and techniques of bass fishing doing all kinds of
- 1:51:28cool bank fishing and hopefully not catching alligators but catching cool
- 1:51:32fishies etc. It's an educational and entertainment channel centered around
- 1:51:38fishing.
- 1:51:40Pam's Stories for Humans helps viewers slow down be present and prioritize real
- 1:51:45life relationships and experiences over digital consumption.
- 1:51:49I'm on the same page as Pam with that one right there buddy.
- 1:51:53Stories for Humans is for those seeking a slower pace and a deeper look at the
- 1:51:56human experience in the AI-heavy world.
- 1:52:00I was just talking to my boss about this at the end of the workday today about
- 1:52:03how easy it is to get spun out on AI.
- 1:52:07And AI helps us do so much work and kind of get dug into it and addicted to it.
- 1:52:12But AI will keep working as long as you want.
- 1:52:15And we're only human so we got to remember to take breaks.
- 1:52:18And go watch some dumb Star Trek show or something silly.
- 1:52:22Go watch jet lag the game or something.
- 1:52:24Get your brain unplugged from AI once in a while because it's way too easy to
- 1:52:28get spun out overstressed and frazzled because that thing don't work as hard as
- 1:52:34you want to work. And sometimes you need to take a human break.
- 1:52:38The AI will never tell you it's time for a break, unfortunately.
- 1:52:42Yes, ma'am, CEO. I agree with you.
- 1:52:44Pam rules.
- 1:52:47Absolutely.
- 1:52:49Porch Piper says, it's hard for me to remember everybody.
- 1:52:52The links help. Yep. And you can always go to my live stream video description
- 1:52:58sometime tomorrow. And I will have everybody's name with links that you can
- 1:53:04click to get to their channels except one person.
- 1:53:07And that is our friend walking the next chapter.
- 1:53:12For some reason, I can't tag you.
- 1:53:14I think that must be a setting that you have in your YouTube.
- 1:53:17You must have it set so that somewhere so people cannot tag you because when I
- 1:53:21try to tag you with the ad sign, it won't let me.
- 1:53:23So Brian, if that's on purpose, then I respect your privacy.
- 1:53:27But if it's an accidental setting and you don't know what's causing that, go
- 1:53:30look for the setting. Maybe ask AI or somebody to help you.
- 1:53:34He says AI told me to take a walk earlier.
- 1:53:37Well, very good. But get your AI to help you figure out why I can't tag you
- 1:53:41unless that's on purpose. And if that's intentional, I respect that privacy,
- 1:53:45sir.
- 1:53:47Yes, Amy. AI is like going down a rabbit hole and a half.
- 1:53:51Yep, absolutely.
- 1:53:54Jay, the resident Rev.secutioner.
- 1:53:59Gritty before glory. Forgotten machines, hard work, real wrenching from dual
- 1:54:04blast restorations to budget builds and questionable rescues.
- 1:54:08We're bringing projects back from the brink one wrench at a time.
- 1:54:12No fancy shop. He's usually out working in his driveway.
- 1:54:15No Hollywood perfection. He just gets there done.
- 1:54:18Just grit, grease, and the fight to bring forgotten iron back to life.
- 1:54:23Subscribe and join the nation.
- 1:54:24The glory comes after the grind.
- 1:54:27And as you can see, it says at the bottom presented by Rev Jay Productions, LLC.
- 1:54:33So Jay's taking it seriously you guys.
- 1:54:35Jay is taking it seriously and Jay wrote this producer shout out and I wish more
- 1:54:39of you would go into Discord.
- 1:54:41Go to the producer shout outs channel and write something that I can tout and
- 1:54:46shout out and bless for your channel.
- 1:54:50Because most of this stuff is just stuff I made up and you guys would come up
- 1:54:54with something much better than what I said.
- 1:54:56Like Dana, the cookie mom here makes baking and cooking videos and it does
- 1:55:01occasional live streams and she's in our Discord server
- 1:55:11Melbourne Australia focusing on interesting and upbeat aspects of life.
- 1:55:19Brian says I will look into it.
- 1:55:20Yeah, go see why I can't tag you.
- 1:55:22It's kind of weird.
- 1:55:25And Amy says my AI keeps asking how Timmy is doing today.
- 1:55:29I guess I was asking about campy low baiter and FODMAP too-much.
- 1:55:35Yeah, it is funny. The AI does get to know your life if you talk about it a lot,
- 1:55:40right? Mac movement says AI can be a gatekeepers remover but it does have its
- 1:55:45downsides. Yeah, you can so easily get spun out on the thing and spend too much
- 1:55:49time
- 1:55:50AI-ing and don't forget to take a break everybody.
- 1:55:55Fred finds out if something catches Fred's curiosity he's going to find out
- 1:55:59about it. Expect history exploration bicycle trails cultural phenomenon and
- 1:56:05videos about staying curious and discovering new things along the way.

- 1:57:45of a senior creator. The content primarily focuses around health wellness and
- 1:57:50self-improvement but as you know Catherine and Roger have bought some land and
- 1:57:56are really doing a lot of great videos talking about trying to get that land
- 1:58:00ready to bring their transportable home and drop it down on top of there.
- 1:58:05And boy, I tell you they've got one challenge after another but they're not
- 1:58:09letting them. Get them down.
- 1:58:10They're staying positive and they know they're going to get through this and
- 1:58:13they're going to look back on this move and this land and realize it was
- 1:58:18probably the best and the best thing they ever did.
- 1:58:22It's not easy to get through it.
- 1:58:24Moving is so stressful and if you got to take a break Catherine if you need to
- 1:58:28take a break from your YouTube for a little while don't be afraid to do that.
- 1:58:32Did you like that? Shout out Amy.
- 1:58:33That was a good one.
- 1:58:35CL says that Kyle is doing cheesy jokes in shorts.
- 1:58:39That's a great great. I love that cheesy jokes in his shorts.
- 1:58:44I mean in short short video.
- 1:58:45Not in his shorts. That would be that would be pretty funny.
- 1:58:50I agree Amy her land is gorgeous.
- 1:58:52That's going to be so nice R when they got the house on there and the trees
- 1:58:56cleared out in a nice little yard.
- 1:58:58It's going to be so pretty and peaceful.
- 1:59:01Cobus Cat Tales by Tracy is a YouTube channel
- 1:59:30primarily focused on the life and experiences
- 1:59:37important supporter of winning the week.

- 2:00:07Flight Quest 40. He was here earlier.
- 2:00:10I don't know if he is still here or not right now.
- 2:00:11But Flight Quest 40 is a YouTube channel that blends passion for flight
- 2:00:15simulation with a technical resource for X-Plane.12 Enthusiasts.
- 2:00:20That's a really cool flight simulator software.
- 2:00:23Daniel.19 Outdoors with Daniel.19 was watching his livestream earlier tonight
- 2:00:28sharing his outdoor oriented hunting, fishing, archery, sometimes cooking,
- 2:00:32health maintenance, all kinds of topics.
- 2:00:35Daniel has a video
- 2:01:02for every I think that icon means DaVinci.
- 2:01:07He said speed ramp tutorial and the thumbnail doesn't tell us going exactly what
- 2:01:12it is. But I believe that's a DaVinci logo in the thumbnail.
- 2:01:16So I know that the shout out said he's using DaVinci Resolve.
- 2:01:21But I wasn I'm 100% sure that's what the new video is.
- 2:01:24But speed ramping is really cool.
- 2:01:25You definitely want to learn how to do speed ramping in your editing experience.
- 2:01:30And here's Warren. The optimistic absurdist.
- 2:01:34Don't call him the absurd optimist.
- 2:01:36He is the optimistic absurdist.
- 2:01:38His channel is dedicated to personal growth, mindset, exploration, philosophical
- 2:01:42introspection Warren helps viewers navigate the complexities of life by
- 2:01:48embracing vulnerability and building authentic connections.
- 2:01:52Now look who's here. I know he had to leave.
- 2:01:55I know he couldn't stick around.
- 2:01:56It is late over there in Nova Scotia.
- 2:01:59But the one great and powerful NB writer one known as DaVin.
- 2:02:04He's got metal detecting drone flying, hockey time with his family, traveling,
- 2:02:10and then down below I put one blind grandpa on the same page because DaVin helps
- 2:02:16one blind grandpa with his edited videos and managing his channel.
- 2:02:20I don't know if you guys got a chance to see this video the beach fail.
- 2:02:24Too much tide. He and his wife just walked down to the beach and it was high
- 2:02:29tide so they couldn't go out on the beach.
- 2:02:31Not to mention getting attacked by a swarm, a massive swarm of mosquitoes.
- 2:02:36So that was a cool video too.
- 2:02:38So that is the end of our producer shout outs.
- 2:02:42We have made it to the end of the shout outs and we have made it to the end of
- 2:02:45the night. And as Brian says here, we are kids at heart.
- 2:02:50We are cool kids at the cool kids table.
- 2:02:52We are all kids at heart. So hey, it is late.
- 2:03:05693 comments. You guys want to push it over the finish line to 700.
- 2:03:09If we get seven more comments, if you guys want to do that real quick, we can
- 2:03:13probably knock that out.
- 2:03:15Make sure you're still subscribed to the channel.
- 2:03:18If you think you're subscribed to this YouTube channel, sometimes YouTube
- 2:03:22unsubscribes people. I don't know why YouTube does that.
- 2:03:25Just go in there and make sure you're still subscribed.
- 2:03:28Click in there.
- 2:03:30We are at 695 comments. Very good.
- 2:03:33Yvonne's dropping us up to 695.
- 2:03:37Who's going to do comment 700?
- 2:03:38I wonder who is going to be the one.
- 2:03:41We are at 696.
- 2:03:44Let's see who that was. That was Jenny saying good night to everybody.
- 2:03:49696. We got four to go. Oh, that was a blast right there.
- 2:03:53Four in a row. Amy was number 700.
- 2:03:56But before that, Jenny said I can do that.
- 2:03:59And CL said good night everyone.
- 2:04:01And Jenny said I'm still subbed.
- 2:04:02And then Amy said yes, comma, comma.
- 2:04:04And that was comment number 700.
- 2:04:07And then Brian says we tried tonight.
- 2:04:11Chairman Richard says good night everyone.
- 2:04:14CL says have a wonderful rest of the week.
- 2:04:17CL, be sure you're taking care of yourself.
- 2:04:19Drink lots of water. I know you got a lot of work to get through now.
- 2:04:22And just because your power's back on now.
- 2:04:25Be sure you're taking care of yourself and your family and the folks around you.
- 2:04:29Be sure you drink a lot of water.
- 2:04:32And you guys keep praying for CL's area, her region, her and her family.
- 2:04:39And thanks to everybody for hanging out.
- 2:04:40We had a great time tonight.
- 2:04:41This has been a blast. 716 comments as of right now.
- 2:04:45And knowing you guys, you'll keep chatting for a while.
- 2:04:47While the music plays me out.
- 2:04:48But I'm going to have one last simultaneous sip here with you guys.
- 2:04:52Yeah, if we're not careful, Amy will get to.
- 2:04:55800 before I finally get signed up.
- 2:04:58That's a good point, CL. Once I got kind of into the weeds on the XML file and
- 2:05:03the code and the podcasting and all that stuff.
- 2:05:05The chatting kind of died off a little bit as everybody was kind of eyes glazed
- 2:05:09over saying, what is this fool talking about?
- 2:05:13But I was I was in my element.
- 2:05:15I can't help it. I was having a good time.
- 2:05:17If bnothing else, it's a good video you can put on to go back to sleep.
- 2:05:22You know, if you're having trouble sleeping at night, you can always watch that
- 2:05:25video to help you get back to sleep.
- 2:05:29Alright, everybody. 720 comments.
- 2:05:31That's a good time to call it a night.
- 2:05:32Thanks a lot for hanging out with me.
- 2:05:34Don't do anything. I wouldn't do.
- 2:05:36I'll see you next time. Don't forget video coming out probably Friday.
- 2:05:40Talking about all kinds of different cool stuff.
- 2:05:42And there's pizza.
- 2:05:44There's pizza. Alright, see you later.
- 2:05:48He likes to sing in the chat after I sign off.
- 2:05:51Yeah, Devin likes to sing in the chat.
- 2:05:52But he's gone. He's gone. He's gone.
- 2:05:55Oh, that's interesting. CL use XML files at work.
- 2:05:58Now, what are you guys using XML to control?
- 2:06:01What could you be controlling?
- 2:06:03Are you controlling CNC machines or something?
- 2:06:06That's a mystery for CL. I was about to sign off and she posts something
- 2:06:10mysterious. We use XML files at work.
- 2:06:13What are you controlling with XML?
- 2:06:17CNC maybe.
- 2:06:20Plotters. Maybe plotters. Maybe I don't know.
- 2:06:24XML is so useful. It can control any different things.
- 2:06:29Such a useful thing. I hope I see a comment from CL to answer that mystery for
- 2:06:33me. Yes, Amy. It's always nice hanging out.
- 2:06:36One comment here from Brenda.
- 2:06:38Before we finish, Scott family get together.
- 2:06:40We were split up amongst a couple of tables for dinner.
- 2:06:42So the few that were at my table, I told him we're the Cool Kids Table.
- 2:06:46You stole my line. Very good.
- 2:06:48It's not my line. It's all of our line.
- 2:06:50We are all the Cool Kids Table and I encourage you to go use that at your own
- 2:06:55YouTube channel too. Feel free.
- 2:06:57Spread the love. Spread the word.
- 2:06:59The YouTube, the Cool Kids Channel expands to whatever size number of people
- 2:07:06want to sit at it. And that includes across multiple YouTube channels.
- 2:07:10All of you guys have a seat at the YouTube channel and you are invited to invite
- 2:07:14your own audiences to the YouTube, to the the Cool Kids Channel.
- 2:07:18The Cool Kids, the Cool Kids Table.
- 2:07:20You can tell I'm tired. I'm calling it the Cool Kids Channel and the YouTube
- 2:07:23Table.
- 2:07:25All right. Thanks everybody.
- 2:07:27Digital imaging systems. Thank you for explaining CL.
- 2:07:32That sounds like a fun job.
- 2:07:34I don't know what you do over there, but it's sounds pretty cool and darn fun to
- 2:07:37me. But I'm a geek. You know, I'm a nerd.
- 2:07:40So of course that's gonna sound fun.
- 2:07:42All right everybody. Love you guys very much.
- 2:07:44I will see you later. Have a good night.
- 2:07:45Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
