- 0:21of Free tag wis Constant the week, Dak, how is the hands today
- 0:26better? I wrote my notes with it. You know, it's not good
- 0:30when your left handed cut in your left hand, but I can move it
- 0:33today. It's all good. That doesn't hurt anymore. About timers, stitches
- 0:37come out? Wow, already, I'm ready. I have no concept of
- 0:45how long stitches need to be in anything. They said ten days. We'll
- 0:50see about that, all right, Dak. How many stitches have you had
- 0:55in your life? Like total? Yeah? Didn't you have some in your
- 1:04head not too long ago? Yeah? I did. That's that's the worst
- 1:12story. But you got there are six there, six in my hands,
- 1:15six or three on my pinky, so fifteen. Look at you? Just
- 1:22accident prone all over. I'm just yeah, I'm just taking injuries left and
- 1:27right. Well, it is Wisconsin week. Nebraska basketball is playing right now
- 1:36against Stony Brook, so I have that on my phone here as we're podcasting
- 1:42live. Three point shooting lost us a little bit the last couple of games.
- 1:49Yeah, we got sweating. What was that neck? We got sweating
- 1:53last game? A little bit. I wouldn't say sweating, but can I
- 1:56say going two for thirteen one from eleven for three is not what you really
- 2:00want? Well, he was one for nine and then the TV commentator made
- 2:07some comment about wanting to see him go going downhill and then he comes out
- 2:13and just buries back to back threes right after. So that's what they say,
- 2:17shoot or shoot shooter shoot rank mass seems like the real deal. I
- 2:23love him. I love the big boy. He gets rebounds. This is
- 2:28what I love the most out of him. I agree, and yeah,
- 2:31I really like our team this year. I wasn't too worried. Obviously,
- 2:34you don't want to. You know, beating a team by fourteen that you
- 2:38should beat by thirty is never great. But Jasiah Alec I like him.
- 2:43The spread was fourteen and a half. It was not like we were if
- 2:47were a half, I got, I got sixteen and a half. What
- 2:52the are you talking about tonight's game or when? Yeah, Monday's game A
- 2:58Monday's game was four eight and a half sixth tonight it was okay. I
- 3:04was gonna say, I like, I like our non conference schedule. I
- 3:09mean we play at Oregon State on Saturday. I think that'll obviously be a
- 3:14Power five team, a tougher opponent, but I think we'll be favored in
- 3:15it, and then our toughest non con games are going to be Creating and
- 3:22Kansas State on the road. So I mean, realistically speaking, if we
- 3:25take care of business, we should go into conference play only with a couple
- 3:30of losses, which it's a lot more fun that way. I guess.
- 3:36If it seems like our record shows that we are doing all right, the
- 3:46Big Tens down big time too, do you think so? I haven't been
- 3:51impressed. Michigan State looks awful and they can't shoot the three Michigan, Yeah,
- 3:59Michigan looks pretty good, all right, they're probably Yeah, I can't
- 4:04even think of that State's supposed to be your best team. They what were
- 4:08they three to thirty at one point on the season from three? Yeah,
- 4:11it hasn't been good. And I've heard that take before too, Dak.
- 4:14How the Big ten may not be the normal Big ten that we're used to,
- 4:17which bodes well I think for this team and the way that we play
- 4:20now a lot of size that we have a lot of experience out there on
- 4:25the court, so it will be fun to see how this team progresses along
- 4:29as we get closer. I think one of our first conference games is hosting
- 4:32Michigan State, so it may be good to play them while they're still trying
- 4:38to figure stuff out, because those teams always do come along when it gets
- 4:42closer to March. But I agree, it's exciting to follow along, as
- 4:46you know. For now, we'll see how it continues on into the year.
- 4:57Basketball. Basketball, man, I'll see you. U see the final
- 5:00four, DAK, what was your record prediction, like twenty four and six
- 5:02or something like that. I thought twenty three and seven. I think it
- 5:09was a lot that was solely off of non conference. They they basically eight
- 5:18wins coming out a non conference. Yeah, and then I didn't expect to
- 5:23State to be awful. And then I don't even I couldn't tell you the
- 5:27rest of the big team. I don't watched Second. Well, Iowa lost
- 5:29last night, never mind, that's true, they did all right. Moving
- 5:34on to football here, a lot of scrutiny, I would say for the
- 5:43coaching staff and most we've had so far after the decisions on Saturday and the
- 5:48way that game played out against Maryland. But we're playing a team in Wisconsin
- 5:56that is under a lot of pressure and heat of their own under first year
- 6:02coach Luke Fickle. From what I've been hearing and reading stuff this week,
- 6:10it sounds like they're really struggling to get the buy in the culture fixed their
- 6:16I mean, they transitioned away from the old Big ten West run ball and
- 6:23we're transitioning to which that in itself makes me happy. I think that's a
- 6:30plus an advantage for Nebraska. Did you see that Wisconsin linebacker who was interviewed
- 6:35and it was just absolutely ripping into the team, like we aren't physical,
- 6:40we aren't you know, we don't play Wisconsin football. I didn't come here
- 6:44to play this style with football. You know, people aren't. I mean,
- 6:47it was he was probably not a popular guy in the locker room after
- 6:51that. I mean, it reminds me a little bit of Frost coming in
- 6:58and just changing the entire culture and style that they're trying to play. So
- 7:06that keep that in mind that I guess as we go into this week,
- 7:10because yeah, Husker fans and right now we're coming off a couple of games
- 7:15we probably shouldn't have lost. But at the same time, Wisconsin's hurting too.
- 7:19Now we do go to Madison. It's never fun playing in Camp Randall.
- 7:24It is going to be a night game at six thirty, it's gonna
- 7:28be late. But I'm not sure that Wisconsin's going to be really getting up
- 7:33for this one like it has been the past few times we've gone to Madison.
- 7:38So I think that does help here. Which team is going to come
- 7:43out US or Wisconsin with the more juice, the more fight, being able
- 7:48to respond because they're probably gonna turn the ball over and they may too.
- 7:55Who's gonna be able to bring it to the other team more and want it
- 7:59more? Is what this gonna come down to. It's a mid November,
- 8:01late November football game, Big ten football game. Funny to say, we
- 8:05still have hopes of taking take ten title game. So that's a lot to
- 8:13play for, guys. There's a lot to play for here and and I
- 8:18think fans, including myself, I needed to get over this Maryland game a
- 8:22little bit because it did. It's stung for multiple reasons. It's stung with
- 8:26decision making, with potentially even the future of this coaching staff put a little
- 8:33damper on things. But Wisconsin's hurting too. That's that. That's the bright
- 8:37side here. I agree. Yeah. I read an interesting article today comparing
- 8:48in Nebraska and Wisconsin's programs and kind of how we're both the The article is
- 8:54basically trying to say that Wisconsin is where we were when Sean I fired Bo
- 9:03Polini, because basically the programs had been they had a really successful coach who
- 9:09then kept continues picking their successor and had were heavily involved. The old coaches
- 9:15stayed heavily involved. And they were saying Wisconsin and Barry Alvarez, Nebraska had
- 9:18Tom Osbourne and they just weren't happy with people mostly winning, and then they
- 9:22hire a guy. Then there comes a new ad who wants to make a
- 9:26big splash and hire a guy who's kind of counterculture. It's what they traditionally
- 9:30been doing. And then they had to do some soul searching, and they
- 9:33were trying to say that Nebraska is correcting its course. It's gone through the
- 9:37soul searching part after firing the ad who makes the big splash, and they're
- 9:41saying, Wisconsin may have the ad who just made the big splash, and
- 9:43now they have to do the soul searching. But it it's kind of interesting.
- 9:46Luke Fickle's first year, You're right, it's just not a fit for
- 9:50what they normally do. It didn't sound like the players were super thrilled about
- 9:54it, and obviously they haven't gotten to buy and they got beat by Northwestern,
- 9:58although they keep in mind Fickle was hired basically, I think it was
- 10:01one or two days right after we hired Rule, and that was a name,
- 10:05a top name in the coaching carouself for Nebraska as well when we were
- 10:13searching for coaches. So, I mean, if you look at it and
- 10:16compare it to that in the styles of play, like, I think Oscar
- 10:20fan should be very happy with what we have with Rule. Now. We
- 10:24still have a lot of challenges and weeknses of our own, don't get me
- 10:28wrong, but I think the style that we're playing is better than what Wisconsin
- 10:35is trying to do, and there's a lot of frustrations there. So there's
- 10:37a big opportunity I think this week to go out there and get a win,
- 10:43and I hope that the staff and the players can identify that and put
- 10:48together a good enough game plan to go in to Madison and make us be
- 10:52eligible. Dak, what do you know about Wisconsin? Well, coming into
- 10:58the off season, Fickle was number two on my list of the guys you
- 11:01should hire. Dian was one, Fickle was two. I thought, I
- 11:07thought Fickle. I thought he was a splash higher coming. Looking back on
- 11:13it now, I don't know. It's pretty can it's your one. He
- 11:16did really well at Cincinnati. I'm not gonna sell out on Fickle yet.
- 11:18It's just he is just a hard left from what they were doing. So
- 11:22it's gonna take a lot more time than they think. And I thought,
- 11:26oh, you boy would be better, a better quarterback there too. He
- 11:28isn't. Which how is he back? I thought he was out for the
- 11:31year. I looked. I looked at when they played his content or Northwestern,
- 11:33looked at stats. He he had played that whole game. I thought
- 11:35he was out for the year. Yeah, I think he must not have
- 11:39been a season ending injury. Austin he made an interesting point on you know,
- 11:46Fickle's yeer one. Gotta give him time. What's interesting? And I
- 11:48thought about this today this morning, actually, and I wasn't particularly thinking of
- 11:54rule, but I think it applies to rule as well. We're in an
- 11:58environment right right now in college football where coaches get paid a lot of money
- 12:03and schools have the money and are going to continue to get money from collectives
- 12:09and different businesses and organizations that are willing to fund these universities and coaches contracts.
- 12:16It's not like you don't you don't get five years, six years any
- 12:20more to prove yourself. It is you get your time, and if you're
- 12:24not meeting the expectations and standards of the donors and the big money people,
- 12:30then then then you're not going to be around. And I think we saw
- 12:31that with Frost and probably the extended version of it where we did try to
- 12:35hang on, and as we talked about on here, it was a couple
- 12:39of years too long. Zach Garnett taking over for Mike Leach down at Mississippi
- 12:46State lasted ten games, and at the same time, Jimbo Fisher gets fired.
- 12:54Now Jimbo was there for a little longer. Jimbo's getting paid twenty thousand
- 12:58dollars a day a day for the next eight years. So yeah, I
- 13:05get the money thing, I understand it. But there's so much money right
- 13:11now floating around in the economy and interest in college football as an an entertainment
- 13:20industry. So with rule two, but fickle two. You might get longer,
- 13:26but you might not, and you have to do whatever you can to
- 13:28win now with the pieces that you have. And if you're not doing that,
- 13:33you better be selling the fans or the people that have the money on
- 13:37your process and what you're shooting for here, because you're not gonna get as
- 13:43long as what we're traditionally used to in an ever changing college football environment.
- 13:48So for someone like Luke Fickle, we'll see. I mean it very well,
- 13:52could be a couple of years if you can't do it, And it's
- 13:56hard when you're transitioning from a team that plays one way and you're trying to
- 14:01go the other way, Like that's going to be difficult. But that's your
- 14:05job as a coach now, especially with the transfer portal nil and all of
- 14:09that, to make sure that you're doing what you need to do and rules
- 14:13very very process oriented, as he talks is and his conference is often very
- 14:20process oriented. I think that probably on the Wisconsin said there's a little less
- 14:26patience for it because they fired Paul Chris five games into last year and he
- 14:31was two and three, and the year prior to that they were nine and
- 14:35four, or I guess eight and four if you don't count the ball game
- 14:37that they won. So they, like I said, they kind of did
- 14:41what we did when we fired bow Lean. You were like, ah,
- 14:43we just can't get over the hump, but we're winning, and then they
- 14:46fire a guy who's winning, and now it's like, well, we're not
- 14:50winning now. Well it's like, yeah, that's what happens when you fire
- 14:54a guy who wins and you're bringing a whole new system. So there's probably
- 14:58a little more frustration of pressure on that side. As far as wisconsincern Wisconsin
- 15:03fans, I guess where Wisconsin fucked up is they should never fire Bilma.
- 15:07You're right. I don't know why they ever did. I can't remember why
- 15:13they did, if he was started los or what, but it should never
- 15:16fire to him. What I was reading was Blima didn't like how much control
- 15:22Barry Alvarez wanted in the program, and Belima went to Arkansas basically because he
- 15:28didn't want Barry alva as involved. The word that keeps coming up anytime you
- 15:33talk about these new hires and retaining coaches is the word winning. And that's
- 15:41something that is stressed a lot in the coaching circle. And I think rule
- 15:48has a good grasp on it's not about how you win, it's that winning
- 15:52matters. Unfortunately, where we're at right now is we've lost a couple in
- 15:58games that you know, you don't beat yourself, you win those games,
- 16:03and that beat yourself part is something we're very familiar with over the past few
- 16:08years. And we have two games now that again are both winnable in their
- 16:14own way, but they're very important. I mean, if you lose both
- 16:18of these games, it's not gonna be a pretty off season. Now,
- 16:22Husker fans will make it into somehow us winning an offseason Natty title. Again,
- 16:26we'll find a way to do that, but it's gonna be rough heading
- 16:30in to the offseason, not making a bulgin going five and seven, and
- 16:34you have to we have to win one of these. I mean, these
- 16:37games are even more important than going into the year now because of what this
- 16:42year could have been with such an easy Big ten West schedule. So like
- 16:49talks a lot of good stuff about winning, and he did when we were
- 16:53winning, but yeah, ultimately now we we haven't the last two games,
- 16:56and so there's the flip side of that that whose fall is it? And
- 17:03if you guys listen to rules press conference. You kept saying it's on me.
- 17:07Everything falls on me, Everything falls on me. So did did you
- 17:10guys listen to that or what were your thoughts on that? Because I mean
- 17:15he did it over and over and talked about how everything falls on him,
- 17:21So like, what what are your thoughts on that? Because I have my
- 17:22opinions here. Yeah, one hundred percent, that last game is all on
- 17:30him, or whoever made that play call. I'm guessing's him made the play
- 17:34call, because he's at least I bet Sackford made the play call, and
- 17:40he just didn't say no. That's by why he's saying it's all on him.
- 17:44But whoever made that play call, that's that was probably the Dumond's play
- 17:48call all year. By mile, you cannot you take that field goal,
- 17:52honestly, kneel that ball, kick the field goal and put your defense back
- 17:56on the field. I mean, well, and you can't kneel the ball
- 18:00like you you're not kneeling the ball with three minutes left. You can run
- 18:04the ball. But I could not imagine just the irateness of people if he
- 18:08just went up there three times at the five yard line. I could totally
- 18:14fine you're right, it would have worked better. But I think he said
- 18:17just because there's a lot of heat on the quarterbacks, there's a lot of
- 18:19heat on sadderfield, and he's just like, this is I mean, that's
- 18:23what he has to say to be like, we're not gonna We're not doing
- 18:26this. We're not just gonna start to be reactionary to the last two games
- 18:32when it's it's a team game and yeah, the quarterback's fucked up and centerfield
- 18:38probably called a better play and that's all you guys want to talk about.
- 18:41But we're moving on to Wisconsin, and if you want to blame someone,
- 18:45blame me. But we're not gonna isolate people and single them out for their
- 18:51mess ups. That's my hunch. I didn't mind how we did it.
- 18:56Like I agree with taking the blame piece of it. And you're right,
- 19:02whatever the play call, whatever that is, it falls on Yeah, you
- 19:06can say it falls on the head coach. And like, I think that
- 19:11thought makes sense. What I did not like about this press conference and he's
- 19:17done it multiple times now, it was thirty six minutes long, and he
- 19:23just feels it just feels like he rambles on he's trying to like explain something
- 19:30or counter something that really isn't even there. And when he talks about this
- 19:34like it's what it was Monday. So I get it, a lot of
- 19:41questions about what happened on Saturday and having but it just seemed like he was
- 19:45trying to defend. He looked, honestly a little bit stressed, more so
- 19:49than he ever has, trying to again just explain himself. I don't like
- 19:59that. I get to the point, get what you need to say,
- 20:02say it well, and move on. And I think our first loss,
- 20:07I believe against Michigan it was very short and quick and to the point and
- 20:11all right, move on, But it's just felt like it just lingered on
- 20:17way too long than it needed to be. And and I hope that doesn't
- 20:19then carry over into the locker room with the players, because after a game
- 20:23like that, you have to get refocused, you have to dial back in
- 20:27now I know you do, to address all the fans and the whatever.
- 20:33I mean, he clearly pointed that out too, but I don't know.
- 20:37I just wasn't a big fan of the way it was delivered this time.
- 20:41And that's one of the first times I with rule. You know, I'm
- 20:45not happy with it. Now, I will say this one thing that I
- 20:51small thing that he does that it's intentional and I really like that he does
- 20:55it. Several times he throws in nuggets about well on the current roster that
- 21:02are young, or talking about recruits about retaining them, and I can't remember
- 21:07his specific examples, but saying like Jaylen Lloyd, can you imagine when he's
- 21:11a senior, Like he just puts that thought into players minds, and no,
- 21:15you're staying here for three or four years, like you were going to
- 21:18build and get better every year, and then by the time you get to
- 21:23be an upperclassman, like, look what you can do. And I like
- 21:26how he's doing that. He's setting the picture for these younger players, because
- 21:30that's what matters in these press compsons. Right, Who gives a shit what
- 21:33the fans and media think after it, but what are the players taking away
- 21:38from it? And I think he did a good does a good job it,
- 21:41did a good job of that in this press conference as well, and
- 21:47then also taking the blame like, yeah, it's on me. Everything falls
- 21:49on me, and we don't need to point fingers on what Scott Frost point
- 21:52and a lot of fingers, a lot of fingers. I remember the one
- 21:56press conference he's like, I don't coach a defense. Oh man, yeah,
- 22:00of course I remember that one that was so bad, just random stuff
- 22:04like that, rules like nope, everything falls on me. It's it's mine.
- 22:07So at the same time, then you are responsible for losses too,
- 22:11right, you're for the wins and losses. He said that, you know
- 22:14that fake punt that goes that goes through me. So mixed emotions, I
- 22:19think from from what we heard. But uh, we'll see two very very
- 22:26very very important games coming up, and it starts this weekend against the Badgers
- 22:33of Wisconsin. You w what's what's crazy is these last two games left,
- 22:44you have a good shot of making the Big ten style game. You also
- 22:47have a shot a good shot make not making a bowl game. I know
- 22:51that's not for you. That is how many five of them, I think,
- 23:03So something like that. All right, let's look at Wisconsin here a
- 23:11little bit deeper. They've they've had some injuries themselves we mentioned there. They're
- 23:18trying to find themselves really where they're at, and they are four and a
- 23:22half point favorites this weekend. I think the line opened at like seven,
- 23:29So that's coming in on the Huskers. Dak already mentioned Tanner Mordecai coming back
- 23:37and playing last week after being hurt. Thought it might have been a season
- 23:41at ending injury. Braylan Allen and Chez Mlucy there two running backs. Something
- 23:48about Wisconsin running backs against Nebraska just scares the living ship out of me.
- 23:53Now, our run rush defense is the best that's been in over a decade,
- 24:00so hopefully we don't have to deal with that again. But there's just
- 24:03still something about going to Camp Randall and just getting rushed for two hundred three
- 24:07hundred yards by their running backs that still worries me. That needs to be
- 24:11the number one focus in my mind, even though we've done such a good
- 24:15job of it, has to continue to do that. And they're expecting brilliant
- 24:19Allen back. I believe he didn't play last week, but you should be
- 24:22coming back this week. So he averages almost six yards to carry and he's
- 24:27there starting running back, So you should be worried about it. That is
- 24:30a totally, totally, totally reasonable thing to be worried about. But you
- 24:36talk about their running game, guess how many receivers they have. They have
- 24:41more receptions than our leading reception leading receiver Billy Kemp. Six is it probably
- 24:48a lot five or six? They have four that have more than Billy Kemp,
- 24:55but the guy there there will Pauling, their number one receiver has fifty
- 24:59six or seve and Billy Kemp has twenty three. Ear lead receiver has twenty
- 25:03three receptions. So but we don't throw it, so we don't throw it,
- 25:10but usually Wisconsin doesn't either. That's what it's kind of worrying is bringing
- 25:12them. Allen's really good on the ground, but they got they have four
- 25:17guys who can who have caught the ball more than we any of our guys
- 25:19have this year. Well in Wisconsin, as we mentioned, is they're more
- 25:23of a spread team. So yeah, they might still have a couple of
- 25:26really good running backs. They're still throwing it a lot more than we are.
- 25:30It's not gonna be the Wisconsin that we're used to seeing. But they
- 25:34also are not putting up points still with the spread offense. The last couple
- 25:38of games, they've lost twenty four to ten against Northwestern and Ohio State.
- 25:45They did beat Illinois twenty five to twenty one, lost to Iowa, and
- 25:48that lovely fifteen to six shootout in the middle of October, Iowa or so
- 25:56name it just it's just it's all over the place. Who knows what we're
- 26:00gonna get, uh, but it's gonna come down to stopping the run.
- 26:04And I think getting pressure on Mordecai back there, that's going to help.
- 26:10And our defense is I don't think the issue. I think we all can
- 26:14say that we're not too worried about our defense stopping either Wisconsin or Ioway here.
- 26:19We gotta find a way to produce points. Yep, how help do
- 26:25that? That's why I was thinking why that line went down? They probably
- 26:29sell your depth chart like Dann, They might not actually have a quarterback.
- 26:32So the line the line went down. Who's it gonna be Saturday? I
- 26:38mean, who do we think it's if he's helped? So what if it
- 26:45is only Sims healthy? Do they do they honestly consider going all wildcat?
- 26:55They put Sims out there, guys. I don't know. I just I
- 26:59whatever we do and if we can't turn the ball over and I don't know
- 27:07rules. No fear of failure line came out today. It wasn't exactly worded
- 27:11that way or Monday. It wasn't worded that way exactly, but like Frost
- 27:15did, but there was something the effect that we don't want our guys playing
- 27:18with fear. And I'm like all right, And then he said something about
- 27:22someone messing up, because what do you want me to do chew him out?
- 27:25And I'm like, yeah, kind of like I do want you to
- 27:26rip his ass because that's turn the ball over. Like it's frustrating, and
- 27:34I don't know how they're addressing it. I have no idea what they're doing
- 27:37in practice, he said, you know, real talks about He's like,
- 27:41we don't throw interceptions like this in practice. Well, okay, they're happening
- 27:45in games though, and Rule said, well, we're working through it.
- 27:48We're trying to figure that out. We're solving it. Okay, like that
- 27:51you think so I sent that in the text to the center field moving to
- 27:56the box. Now being on the sideline coaching, do you think has any
- 28:00impact? No, I think that's very menus. I don't I think I
- 28:03think media blows that way out of a portion. I really don't think it
- 28:06matters. I think he sucks either way. I mean, there's a different
- 28:14level of coaching you can do in between plays on the sideline versus in the
- 28:17box as the quarterbacks coach. Yeah, I didn't think about that. You
- 28:22can communicate better on the sideline. I feel like you can talk. Yeah,
- 28:26you can in person talk. I guess to them a lot more.
- 28:30Yeah, I do also appreciate that, like the comment was made, we
- 28:37don't want to start all over an offense next year with a brand new coordinator
- 28:41or a new system, like I get that. And it's not the style,
- 28:44guys. The style is not the problem at all. In fact,
- 28:47the style what we're choosing to run as plays like is actually probably better than
- 28:56expected coming in how run heavy we have been just from a run pass count.
- 29:03I will say, I don't think we're right now very creative, and
- 29:07the design of plays is not very but we turned the ball over with simple
- 29:14points, so real we got I think they're scared to do that. Yeah,
- 29:18so and maybe we are, and and maybe that's okay right now.
- 29:22So there does need to be development growth with the execution piece of it.
- 29:29And yeah, it's just hard. It's when you when you're talking to players
- 29:33and you're coaching that way, you know you can't come out and say all
- 29:36the players should have to make plays. We've heard that line before, but
- 29:38the same time, like that's also somewhat true, like you can have the
- 29:44perfectly designed play, just like the third third down play that that's what they
- 29:48were talking about, that third down, third and seven from the goal line.
- 29:52Real broke down the whole play from each receiver and what their roles were,
- 29:57and yeah, well, feel like anyone did anything they were supposed to
- 30:02based onf of what he was saying. Yep, And so again, who
- 30:07does that fall on? And it's not the is it the players? The
- 30:10coaches rule? Say it's on me? Okay, so then find a way
- 30:11to fix it. And yeah, I get it. We're in year one,
- 30:15we're now moving into game eleven of year one. So if that's that's
- 30:19on you, if that's on the coaching staff, then better find a way
- 30:23to fix it, because you're not gonna get four years to fix it.
- 30:26It's not gonna happen. And you better show progress in the areas that we're
- 30:33lacking, which right now everyone would agree that turnovers is our number one problem.
- 30:38It has been for a very very very very time. I don't even
- 30:44know what our number two problem is. I'm gonna be straight up honest with
- 30:47you if you're like, namely, the top two problems were in Nebraska football.
- 30:49I really struggle to think of the second one, not that there isn't
- 30:52one, but I mean, guys, this is gonna sound real funny,
- 30:56but I don't know either. If we lose these next two games and have
- 31:00zero turnovers both games, I feel good. I feel great. And that's
- 31:06that's that's even saying. If we literally run the ball every time and never
- 31:08throw it and still lose, like that's totally okay with because that shows that
- 31:14we're at least stressing that and we're not letting them play loose and free,
- 31:18and like that is our problem. That is our problem right now. And
- 31:22if we're not gonna dress it and say, oh, we don't want them
- 31:26to be afraid to make mistakes and if they throw a pick, yeah they
- 31:27do. They messed up. Well how they mess up? Why they mess
- 31:30up? Like you gotta they gotta get down to the why behind it to
- 31:34figure it out. So turnovers again, don't if you don't turn the ball
- 31:40over, don't beat yourself. That's what's going to establish his team as a
- 31:42good team. So okay, Dak, I know you have a game prepared
- 31:48for us. I thought when you said that in our text as we were
- 31:52prep and I reminded me of Saw. So maybe it's like a solid game.
- 31:56What do you got for? Well? How how much timing? I
- 31:59left the It is my favorite for Sunday. You've got six minutes. Okay,
- 32:05here we go. Who where will these guys be playing class coaching next
- 32:09year? You can say NFL or whatever? College? Here we go,
- 32:14Jim Harbaugh, Michigan. We name the team or the NFL or college.
- 32:21If you say NFL, you stay NFL college. You guys say the team
- 32:23Michigan. I'll go NFL. All right, let's go uh Shador Sanders alight?
- 32:34SEC team? Uh? MISPI State? All right? Jane Daniels,
- 32:45I'm gonna say, are you saying elis NFL? NFL? I mean Jalen
- 32:51the Kansas quarterback? You want me to stay Nebraska? Uh? Uh?
- 33:00In this still? No, he's gonna he'll be in the portal somewhere.
- 33:02I don't I don't know where he's gonna end up. I don't know.
- 33:07I'll say some SEC school, all right? Last three here, Dion Colorado.
- 33:15I don't see a lot of movements. He's going He's going to State
- 33:19or Texas A and m all right, Dylan Gabriel, NFL, Yeah,
- 33:29NFL, Oklahoma. Last one, Jeff Simms, ohere Nebraska switch to switch
- 33:39to d end or safety, he'll be on the well Josh Well, Jeff
- 33:47Simms ever play quarterback? Like anywhere? Again? No, no, outside
- 33:53of this year for Nebraska or maybe in desperation mode next year. I can't
- 34:01I can't see anywhere that he could even go lower like D two right,
- 34:07not even like power I mean you could go to non power five, like
- 34:10a group of five school. But even then, I don't think so.
- 34:15Would Wesleyan take him Nebraska question? Yeah, I don't know. Probably he's
- 34:23a freaking god out there. He wouldn't have to throw the ball. He
- 34:27could literally run for three hundred yards a game. Yeah, then he fumble
- 34:30it. They couldn't catch him. Are you crazy? Nebraska? Leslian,
- 34:35No way, exactly your next next segment here, you got your picks ready?
- 34:45Yep? What I added him up? I went five and five the
- 34:50week I wrote the NCAA letters, six and five last week. I'm forty
- 34:53one and forty on the year. Now, wow, look at you right
- 34:57above five hundred. I'm rolling. Sounds like the oddsen Vigers know what lines
- 35:02to make and they know who's gambling. All right, one minute on the
- 35:08clock. Ready, go all right, we'll start out here. Louisville money
- 35:15line against Miami. I don't know how Miami's favorite that I think. I
- 35:17don't think Louisville's a good number ten Nation, but they're pretty good. I
- 35:22owe you minus twenty four and a half. Agins b Au eight touchdown Dylan
- 35:23Gabriel last week, shout out him. Tennessee plus ten against Georgia. I
- 35:30I don't think Georgia is that good. They looked really good last week.
- 35:35Arizona mine is one against Utah. Arizona is really damn good and Utah ever
- 35:38since last tim rising is is downhill. Illinois plus three against Iowa. I
- 35:44hope to god Illinois wins that game. I went Nebraska maybe the the championship.
- 35:49Can't watch Iowa excellent. Washington money line against Oregon State. I think
- 35:53Washington's just better. That's gonna be a hell of a game. I always
- 35:57State plus samon against Texas, puck Texas case date my seven and a half
- 36:00against Kansas also fuck Kansas take that goal, fos out of the water.
- 36:05The Frasco's consent under thirty six and a half, that's gonna be just hell
- 36:08of what time? Getting thirty six and last one? Maryland plus nineteen it's
- 36:13Michigan. I think Maryland keeps it within seventeen points. All right, Dak,
- 36:21no locks of the week anymore? No more? Are you? You
- 36:25didn't get by a record on those? Oh? I lost that. I
- 36:32went out the window. I feel like if I had a lock of the
- 36:37week, you'd be leave the money line, Louisville money line. Yep,
- 36:45didn't you say they were favored by ten? No, they're they're underdogs.
- 36:49Oh by Miami by half point. I've never saw a spread half point oh
- 36:53a half point. So that's the first spread I've ever saw like that.
- 36:58All right, what do you go? What are score predictions for Nebraska Wisconsin?
- 37:01If you think the unders, it's gonna be a struggle. Damn.
- 37:07Oh yeah fourteen Nebraska? Wow? Okay, Yeah, I'm I'm gonna go
- 37:15seventeen fourteen Wisconsin. I think I'm taking twenty seventeen Nebraska. I here's why
- 37:22I'm scared too. I hate playing teams coming off losses that they shouldn't have
- 37:28lost, like bad losses, because then they go into practice extra motivated.
- 37:36I just I hate that, and I guess yeah, we were kind of
- 37:38like that too in a weird sense. But you shouldn't lose in Northwestern I
- 37:45mean ever, especially not at home looking good. They're turning the corner.
- 37:52Honestly, if Party trots out, there's a quarterbacks fourteenthen Nebraska. If sim's
- 37:57fourteen ten Wisconsin, that down, mark it down. What if Harvard trots
- 38:02out? Oh fuck, I don't think there's any shot he comes out there,
- 38:07uh more, same as I think he's same as Party fourteen to the
- 38:12Nebraska. All right, all right, we'll be back Sunday recap game.
- 38:17Go Big Red t v R Bloomer sooner
