- 0:49Speaker 2: How about them Cowboys?
- 0:50Speaker 1: How about them Cowboys?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Die?
- 0:53Speaker 1: Eagles Die? Wow?
- 0:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I've never ever wanted to say that. I think
- 0:59Speaker 5: that's so like, that's the thing. It's just too much. Yeah,
- 1:02Speaker 5: fly Eagles fly, not die. Eagles die. Got it, But dude,
- 1:05Speaker 5: as soon as we won that game, I felt it.
- 1:07Speaker 5: I'm like, that's right enough with that. Fly Eagles fly.
- 1:11Speaker 5: Every single time I post anything about me and my Cowboys,
- 1:16Speaker 5: I mean, you got seventy percent. Cowboys suck, Fly, Eagles fly.
- 1:20Speaker 5: You know what we got you, guys. We got you good,
- 1:24Speaker 5: and we didn't beat you by a little bit. We
- 1:26Speaker 5: beat you by a lot. We showed you who's boss
- 1:29Speaker 5: in that division.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Let's go cabbys.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Do you feel like you can win the Super Bowl?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:37Speaker 5: Yes, I've already made my futures bet. Oh it's probably
- 1:40Speaker 5: not that good though, now, huh eight hundred? What plus
- 1:43Speaker 5: eight hundred?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Really? Yeah?
- 1:47Speaker 5: And I thought after the Cowboys would beat the Eagles
- 1:50Speaker 5: and after Miami would lose to the Titans that that
- 1:52Speaker 5: would change, But they're keeping it eight hundred.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Really, I might have take a little Lookxi here, do
- 1:57Speaker 3: you feel like Dyk's coming the MVP?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yes?
- 2:01Speaker 3: Do you really feel like that way? I really think
- 2:03Speaker 3: you would recommend somebody to bet it one hundred percent. Look,
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm betting one thousand dollars on Dak toWin the end.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Let's go baby, Let's go bones. Look around the.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Lead one thousand dollars. Well, he the favorite no rock party.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Still they're both very close. Dak is right this second
- 2:16Speaker 3: plus one fifty party is at one eight. I just
- 2:19Speaker 3: bet a thousand bucks out of a eady. Party's at
- 2:21Speaker 3: one eighty five. So DAK is the favorite. Hey read,
- 2:24Speaker 3: let's let's do it. Let's call it. Dak's at plus
- 2:26Speaker 3: one fifty.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Back to school.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you've bet a thousand, Well, let's just do a hundred,
- 2:34Speaker 2: bet one hundred. I just bet.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Let's just say I bet a hundred and it's plus
- 2:37Speaker 3: one fifty.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Okay. Oh, let's see bet one hundreds plus one fifty.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I forgot everything. Yeah, hold on, I got this. I
- 2:57Speaker 2: don't know two fifty.
- 2:58Speaker 3: So if it's plus one fifty, right, it's that means
- 3:02Speaker 3: the odds of it happening are not in your favor. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 3: because plus, I mean you're gonna make plus money if
- 3:09Speaker 3: you bet it even so you're gonna one hundred bucks
- 3:12Speaker 3: makes you one fifty, gotcha? Then you get your hundred back, gotcha?
- 3:16Speaker 3: So if I bet a thousand, I bet a thousand
- 3:20Speaker 3: to make come on, come on, forget the odds, just
- 3:29Speaker 3: do the chant.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Do you know fifteen hundred plus thousands on thousand that
- 3:35Speaker 5: you've got?
- 3:36Speaker 3: So I bet a thousand. If I win, I'll get
- 3:38Speaker 3: back twenty five hundred fifty hundred on one thousand.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Gotcha, you got it all right. Let me try again.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Brock parties at plus one eighty five. Oh Jesus, no, no, no,
- 3:47Speaker 3: it's one hundred dollars. If I bet a hundred bucks,
- 3:49Speaker 3: how much do I win?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Let's see, if you've got one hundred dollars, it's plus
- 3:54Speaker 2: two eighty plus one eighty five. Oh, plus one eighty five. Okay,
- 3:58Speaker 2: you bet one hundred dollars.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'm panicking, guys five dollars because it's a bigger number
- 4:08Speaker 2: than one hundred, and then be eighteen fifty if you
- 4:10Speaker 2: bet a thousand, yeah, yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 3: If the odds were minus two twenty, how much do
- 4:20Speaker 3: I have to bet to make one hundred dollars?
- 4:22Speaker 2: Oh? Boy, one hundred and twenty two twenty two twenty.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I lost it all. I don't know what happened.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It's that you just have to learn associate one. It's
- 4:33Speaker 3: actually pretty easy math. It's just remembering which ones are which. Okay, well,
- 4:38Speaker 3: that's fun. I've bet a thousand bucks on the spot
- 4:41Speaker 3: like a idiot on dak to one.
- 4:42Speaker 5: No, no, you're not an idiot, that dude. That is
- 4:44Speaker 5: a great bet. I mean again, look around the league
- 4:47Speaker 5: right now. Who would you put in that spot right now?
- 4:49Speaker 5: Either over that or Brock Purty? Why Brock Purty?
- 4:52Speaker 1: What have you seen?
- 4:53Speaker 2: The forty nine ers have whooped the crap out of
- 4:54Speaker 2: even the Cowboys.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You know, we're talking about MVP. We're not talking about
- 4:57Speaker 1: the team.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's also played really well.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Could you put Tyreek up there even higher?
- 5:01Speaker 6: Now?
- 5:02Speaker 2: Last night? It's a quarterback award, I know, but.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I hate that too.
- 5:05Speaker 2: It looked awful without him last night.
- 5:06Speaker 5: It's a quarterback. Yeah, it's a quarterback. Why didn't they
- 5:08Speaker 5: play him? Why would they kind of sit him out?
- 5:10Speaker 5: I mean, was I guess we maybe made more hurt
- 5:13Speaker 5: than we thought he was.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I got news for you. I don't watch any of
- 5:15Speaker 3: the game.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Were you in trouble?
- 5:17Speaker 3: No, I've had a science affection so bad that I
- 5:20Speaker 3: just went to sleep.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So this is what I did.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I bet six hundred bucks on the Dolphins minus thirteen
- 5:25Speaker 3: and a half, and I woke up to see that
- 5:29Speaker 3: they lost the game.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah. This crazy ending, dude, crazy ending.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So just brief me real quick.
- 5:34Speaker 5: I mean, the Dolphins had the game, they scored, they
- 5:38Speaker 5: made it a two possession game with how much time left?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Fifty five? I believe two fifty five. They were up
- 5:43Speaker 2: two possessions, minutes left.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Twenty eight to ten, twenty yeah, yeah, now fourteen twenty fourteen, yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 4: go ahead.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And then and then I turned it off.
- 5:55Speaker 3: You turned it off after okay, after the title I
- 5:57Speaker 3: thought it was over too.
- 5:58Speaker 4: After the Titans fumbled the second time and Dolphins scored
- 6:00Speaker 4: to go up two possessions with three minutes left, I
- 6:02Speaker 4: was like, I'm turning this off. I'm going to bed. Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 4: So I went to bed, and then I got the notification.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Did you watch the all things? I missed it?
- 6:08Speaker 1: I did, and I did. I don't.
- 6:10Speaker 5: I don't really remember maybe a turnover, how they got
- 6:13Speaker 5: the two how I don't really remember how the Titans scored.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Thanks listening to our sports podcast. Everybody on those two possessions.
- 6:18Speaker 5: But what happened with what happened was the Dolphins scored
- 6:21Speaker 5: the touchdown and then the Titan. The Titans get the
- 6:24Speaker 5: ball and they score I mean in quick in less
- 6:29Speaker 5: than a minute, chunking the ball. I mean the two
- 6:30Speaker 5: possessions they were in the red zone.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I saw the Dolphins played a lot of prevent from
- 6:33Speaker 4: what got Twit was saying.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Two plays there in the red zone.
- 6:37Speaker 5: They end up scoring, and then the Dolphins get the
- 6:40Speaker 5: ball back, and I don't know if they're quick for
- 6:43Speaker 5: I think they were quick four and out, quick, four
- 6:45Speaker 5: and out three owre quick three and out and then
- 6:47Speaker 5: the and then the Texans come back, and then the
- 6:50Speaker 5: Titans Titans Sports podcast.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm literally trying money here.
- 6:54Speaker 5: I'm trying to picture I'm trying to picture the TV
- 6:56Speaker 5: screen right now because.
- 6:57Speaker 1: All I remember, let me tell you, Mike, to the end,
- 7:00Speaker 1: they got for they got the two, I.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Know, but they went for it with a will Evis.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I saw him pumping his fist. I don't watch any
- 7:05Speaker 3: of it. Yes, so he got the two. I think
- 7:06Speaker 3: they got the tube and the first time they scored
- 7:09Speaker 3: got it. Yes, they kicked filgal on the second kicked
- 7:11Speaker 3: the fix.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Myself and then the doll I did see.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Actually, the Dolphins did have a final drive and two
- 7:15Speaker 4: got sacked in the last play fourth and like three
- 7:17Speaker 4: he turned it back.
- 7:18Speaker 2: On at midfield. Yeah, I did.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I saw the Giants to beat the Packers.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Didn't watch any of that game.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Yes, right, yeah, And the Packers had their chances too
- 7:26Speaker 4: because Saquon fumbled at the end. I was watching that too.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Giants were gonna win. Saquon had a big break run
- 7:31Speaker 4: in He's like forty yards and then he just stumbled
- 7:34Speaker 4: like sniper turf Monster got him stumbled and as he stumbling,
- 7:37Speaker 4: hits the ground and he.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Fumbled the ball and the ground cause a fumble.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Yeah, nobody touches you and you don't give yourself up
- 7:43Speaker 4: then can That's what they were saying.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And then so the Packers picked it up and ran
- 7:47Speaker 2: it back like fifty yards.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Those were just two games I did not care about.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Not only was I sick, I just didn't care about
- 7:51Speaker 3: those games because I thought the Miami game.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Was over before they started. And then I didn't care
- 7:55Speaker 2: about the Giants and the Packers.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Yeah I didn't either, But there actually turned out to
- 7:58Speaker 4: be like you could have just watched three quarters and
- 8:00Speaker 4: watch the last quarter of both of them and been
- 8:02Speaker 4: totally fun.
- 8:03Speaker 5: There's also the whole like two games at one time
- 8:05Speaker 5: on a Monday, which was really weird.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Well, two bad games equals one decent game.
- 8:08Speaker 2: That's why they have a split screen though.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Oh I didn't see the split screen. All I saw
- 8:11Speaker 3: the split screen. I thought I was watching some weird
- 8:12Speaker 3: YouTube feed.
- 8:13Speaker 2: No, yeah, I was watching both games at the same time.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Really wow, all right, let's go, Mike he me the
- 8:16Speaker 3: title Time Tattle, It's time.
- 8:31Speaker 2: The Tattle. All right, let's go. How do I follow that?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Go ahead?
- 8:36Speaker 4: With Dylan Gabriel's announcement to transfer to Oregon, do you
- 8:39Speaker 4: think it makes him a contender right away in the
- 8:40Speaker 4: Big Ten?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Year, he's gonna be awesome there. He plays better for
- 8:45Speaker 3: that system. They that's for the Oklahoma system and how
- 8:48Speaker 3: they play there, He's gonna be awesome. I think he's
- 8:51Speaker 3: a Heisman top three favorite going into next year. What
- 8:54Speaker 3: a great situation for him to get into. Oklahoma didn't
- 8:56Speaker 3: even want them because they have their their five star
- 8:58Speaker 3: freshman kid they wanted to start. And he's gonna pop
- 9:01Speaker 3: up there and do his thing. It's gonna be awesome.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I'm rooting for him. They'll play Ohio State, Michigan, and
- 9:04Speaker 3: Wisconsin all on your one. It's like, welcome to the
- 9:07Speaker 3: Big Ten. Yeah, play these big meaty boys. So that'll
- 9:10Speaker 3: be media boy.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Wisconsin kidding, that's media boys. It's gonna be
- 9:16Speaker 2: fun to see that.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Like dynamic athleticism, of organ against those big meaty boys
- 9:20Speaker 4: Meadie boy.
- 9:21Speaker 2: All right.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Next question, in honor of bull season, if you can
- 9:24Speaker 4: make up your own bull what would you call it?
- 9:26Speaker 3: I call it Bobby's Bowl for Bros. And it'll only
- 9:30Speaker 3: be left handed people on walk ons. Bobby's Bowl for
- 9:33Speaker 3: bro the Bros BBFB Bobby's Bowl for the Bros. And
- 9:37Speaker 3: you can get in it. It's invite only, and first
- 9:39Speaker 3: of all, nobody in Floristate gets in. Then only left
- 9:43Speaker 3: handed people and walk ons.
- 9:45Speaker 1: That's funny. So the whole team has to be left handed.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Or walk on or had to walk on at one point.
- 9:52Speaker 3: If you walked on at any point, even if you
- 9:53Speaker 3: got a scholarship player, you can play.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Would anybody watch this?
- 9:56Speaker 3: Heck yeah, Bobby's But what's it called Bobby's for Bobby's
- 10:00Speaker 3: Ball for the brosh Yeah, yeah, that'd be awesome.
- 10:03Speaker 5: If we had all the money in the world, could
- 10:05Speaker 5: we have the twenty five Whistles Bowl.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yes, Arstool has a bowl. They'd be like that used
- 10:09Speaker 3: to be theirs on the ball. Yeah really yeah, you
- 10:11Speaker 3: just pay for it and you can become the sponsor.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Let's do that.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I want to do Bobby's Bowl for the Bros. But
- 10:15Speaker 3: most Bawls are with real teams. Mine's more like a
- 10:18Speaker 3: East West type All Star type game.
- 10:21Speaker 2: All Star.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Well, Bobby's Ball for the Bros. I can't take people
- 10:25Speaker 3: off teams unless it's like Senior Bowl or you know
- 10:27Speaker 3: what I mean.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, I get it.
- 10:29Speaker 3: That's what I would be. That's that's the Bowl game.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I would have Bobby Ball for the Bros. Left handeds
- 10:32Speaker 3: and Walker's all right.
- 10:33Speaker 5: What about guys that weren't good enough to play in college?
- 10:35Speaker 5: That'd be a fun one, you Yeah, so it's.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Only high school guys, Uncle Rico's Yeah, yeah, forty plus Now,
- 10:42Speaker 3: now that would be funny if you do an old
- 10:44Speaker 3: timer's game. That's what I'm talking about, the OTB, the
- 10:47Speaker 3: Old Timer's Bowl. Oh, there you go, and it's only
- 10:49Speaker 3: players forty and over.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that'd be amazing. Can you imagine the
- 10:52Speaker 1: injury would in the time.
- 10:53Speaker 3: But you'd have to be out of the NFL by
- 10:55Speaker 3: five years. You have to have the same rules of
- 10:58Speaker 3: the Hall of Fame, so you couldn't come right from
- 10:59Speaker 3: the NFL to the game.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Okay, so five years out of the braid Brady can't
- 11:03Speaker 5: play but Montana.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Over forty and five years out of the NFL, and
- 11:07Speaker 3: you can play in the Old Timer Bowl?
- 11:08Speaker 2: Would you want?
- 11:09Speaker 1: I mean I want Montana right now?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I was too old, like Farver far I don't
- 11:15Speaker 4: know Peyton Peyton.
- 11:16Speaker 3: His neck gang work though, and that's sure, Yeah, that's it.
- 11:20Speaker 3: That's the problem. Would the NFL sure would won two
- 11:25Speaker 3: Super Bowls?
- 11:26Speaker 1: I know, weird?
- 11:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Philip Rivers, but he's probably not been out in
- 11:29Speaker 3: like three years. Maybe those are two good Bowl games,
- 11:30Speaker 3: though I don't watch them all right?
- 11:32Speaker 2: What else?
- 11:32Speaker 4: Going to the NFL? After blowing the game last night
- 11:34Speaker 4: against Titans? Where do you rank the Dolphins in the AFC?
- 11:37Speaker 2: They're nine to four.
- 11:39Speaker 3: They have what we were Cowboys and them earlier this
- 11:42Speaker 3: year the Cowboys Centrome where they've beat nobody with the
- 11:44Speaker 3: winning record. I don't think they are thirty seven and
- 11:47Speaker 3: they played the teams they played with thirty seven and
- 11:48Speaker 3: thirty nine their total records, so it's not like they've
- 11:50Speaker 3: played a bunch of people. Wheer the Cowboys didn't being
- 11:53Speaker 3: very good. But then Diagiles die, yeah, and then Diegles.
- 11:57Speaker 3: They're the two seed in the a f C. Then
- 11:59Speaker 3: we're DoD we rake them. Let's just say, if they
- 12:01Speaker 3: played straight up against these teams, who'd pick? So right now,
- 12:03Speaker 3: the number one seeds, the Ravens. Who would you take
- 12:04Speaker 3: in the game of the Ravens and the Dolphins too? Ravens,
- 12:08Speaker 3: the Chiefs and the Dolphins.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Dolphins, Chiefs. I don't know what's going on over there.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Man.
- 12:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the Chiefs though, just because of
- 12:18Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes the only reason. But I'll go with Chiefs,
- 12:21Speaker 3: Dolphins and Jaguars, Dolphins, Dolphins, Dolphins, Yeah, Dolphins and Browns, Dolphins, Steelers, Dolphins, Colts.
- 12:31Speaker 3: So Dolphins, I'd probably say that they're probably I would
- 12:34Speaker 3: put them at it like a probably the third best
- 12:38Speaker 3: team in the AFC. They're the two seed, probably the
- 12:41Speaker 3: third best team. See them behind the Bills or no,
- 12:44Speaker 3: you have them, I have them behind the Ravens and
- 12:47Speaker 3: the Chiefs. So the Bills are like the eleven seed
- 12:49Speaker 3: now right, which is crazy, and they they goold win. Yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 3: but well, how about Tony maybe the Giants? When the
- 12:56Speaker 3: Giants was it last year when they got to Tony
- 12:58Speaker 3: and Tony went over to the Chiefs, I was like,
- 13:00Speaker 3: I can't sity unstoppable.
- 13:02Speaker 2: These guys cannot catch, they cannot line up right.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That was crazy, man, that was crazy. How do you
- 13:06Speaker 1: line up off sides? I don't I don't understand that.
- 13:09Speaker 2: It's just you see the ball.
- 13:11Speaker 3: That was the only instance where something stupid like this happened.
- 13:13Speaker 3: But it's been happening to the Chiefs all year with
- 13:15Speaker 3: the receivers drop dropping the ball. So it's it's bizarre.
- 13:20Speaker 3: And that play that Kelsey made. And I've started to
- 13:22Speaker 3: like Kelsey less for no reason, in my face.
- 13:25Speaker 1: All the reason.
- 13:26Speaker 3: But it's like, I don't root for him anymore. I
- 13:28Speaker 3: used to like Travis Kelcey.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Shake it off, all right.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I hear you.
- 13:31Speaker 3: It's not even about Taylor. It's just it's just all
- 13:32Speaker 3: the time. Now, Yeah, you know what, he's the problem.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Here's the problem.
- 13:36Speaker 2: It's you.
- 13:36Speaker 3: It's over. I'm over exposed to Travis Kelcey. But that
- 13:40Speaker 3: was a freaking awesome play. That lateral like at the
- 13:43Speaker 3: pass like it threw like a like a shoulder pass,
- 13:47Speaker 3: not even like a sweet lateral. It was awesome. And
- 13:50Speaker 3: they didn't count because Tony was lined up off sides. Man,
- 13:52Speaker 3: that's so stupid. I still like, what do you think
- 13:55Speaker 3: about my homes.
- 13:56Speaker 2: We're getting there. We're getting getting there. Were no last question.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, after losing the second straight game, are you
- 14:02Speaker 4: worried about the Chiefs if you were a fan.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd be worried. But as long as you have
- 14:08Speaker 3: the best quarterback in the league, you got a shot.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I'll be worried. But as long as you got the
- 14:13Speaker 3: best head coach in the league, you got a shot.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I'll be worried. But they got a really good defense,
- 14:19Speaker 3: I'll be worried. Yeah, I'd be worried because offensively, their
- 14:26Speaker 3: backs are either injured, their interior line, their guard, their
- 14:31Speaker 3: center and guards are really good. Their tackles are okay,
- 14:34Speaker 3: they're fine, their quarterbacks the best. Their running back situations problematic.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I mean, uh, Pacchio, pacchio, Pachecko. Check mister angry, he's hurt.
- 14:50Speaker 3: McKinnon is fine, he's serviceable.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But it's like.
- 14:56Speaker 1: A a layer.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean at Edward's Hilaire. Yeah, I just I
- 15:03Speaker 2: still put it on the quarterback and I do have
- 15:04Speaker 2: faith in them. Will you look up the odds to it? Kensady?
- 15:07Speaker 3: Is is there a future? Because would be the probably
- 15:08Speaker 3: the best time to get them. If you're gonna get them,
- 15:11Speaker 3: all right, is that it?
- 15:11Speaker 2: But it? Yeah? But I was gonna say they can't
- 15:14Speaker 2: score over twenty right now? I know?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Right now?
- 15:20Speaker 2: Thank you his name.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Twenty five whistles presented by Draft Kings sports book and
- 15:29Speaker 3: official sports.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Betting partner of the NFL.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Download the DraftKings app use to co Bobby Sports to
- 15:34Speaker 3: get in on the action.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Do you have it?
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah? Plus seven hundred.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Oh that's pretty meaty, laughable. What's the rest?
- 15:42Speaker 1: Uh?
- 15:42Speaker 5: You got the Niners at two forty plus two forty,
- 15:45Speaker 5: and you've got Baltimore right behind that at.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Plus five point fifty.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Wow, big jump, big jump, and then the Eagles after
- 15:50Speaker 5: that plus seven hundred part of the Cowboys. Oh yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 5: that's what I'm saying. Do the Cowboys? They stay, are
- 15:54Speaker 5: keeping them eight hundred, which is crazy to me. Go
- 15:57Speaker 5: after both the win and then the Dolphins loss, Eagles
- 16:00Speaker 5: set plus seven hundred, Chiefs plus seven hundred, Dolphins plus
- 16:03Speaker 5: eight are in front of the Cowboys. Yeah, okay, And
- 16:06Speaker 5: they have the Dolphins and the Cowboys together at eight hundred. Wow,
- 16:10Speaker 5: and then behind that Bills, Lions, Jags, Cleveland.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Wow. Surprised by that.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I may want to jump in. Somebody can't City Meet, though,
- 16:18Speaker 3: have you jumped on the forty nine ers meet to
- 16:20Speaker 3: been like too expensive? I got Baltimore way early before
- 16:26Speaker 3: the season started. I think we got the Cowboys as
- 16:28Speaker 3: the season started, so.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You must have that as good good, good money.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I'd be curious. You know, our parlay did not win,
- 16:36Speaker 2: not even close. We did random too wet like that.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Oh, drawing the numbers.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and it lost all three.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Well because we drew numbers.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Well, we've lost every time we've also picked Eddie.
- 16:46Speaker 5: That's the most I've ever felt like out of control.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Who knows what this means? You can't win for any
- 16:52Speaker 3: reason whatsoever? Uh A Lions minus three they lost the
- 16:56Speaker 3: Bears one. Bears look pretty good. Yeah, Bears starting to
- 16:59Speaker 3: do the thing. Yeah, Vikings minus three to the Raiders.
- 17:03Speaker 2: They lost Vikings. That was a push, wasn't it. Yeah,
- 17:08Speaker 2: there's a three zero Yeah, still not a win win Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 3: And then the Bengals one. It was Colt's minus one
- 17:13Speaker 3: Bengals one thirty four fourteen. If you want to take
- 17:15Speaker 3: the twenty officers parlight, we advise you not to.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That's terrible.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Take our solo pet.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but you definitely want to be a part of
- 17:24Speaker 6: it when we hit yeah, you know yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Check out DraftKings Sports Book.

- 17:46Speaker 2: He is super cool.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Josh Pate came over to the studio and here he is.
- 17:49Speaker 3: By the way, Josh Pate of twenty four to seven
- 17:52Speaker 3: Sports College Football Analyst got a great story about working
- 17:55Speaker 3: at the warehouse out of high school and figuring out
- 17:57Speaker 3: how he was going to get into sports, and he
- 18:00Speaker 3: he got his sports radio the TV parts crazy. Now
- 18:03Speaker 3: he does Late Kick Live, which is a great college
- 18:05Speaker 3: football show. You can follow Josh on Twitter Late Kick
- 18:08Speaker 3: Josh stay up to date his analysis. It's really a really,
- 18:11Speaker 3: really really great show. Here he is Josh Payton, Josh, Dad,
- 18:14Speaker 3: I'm a big fan.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I think I come across your stuff more in message
- 18:18Speaker 3: boards than anywhere else, Like depending on what SEC school
- 18:22Speaker 3: it is, and if they have a problem with what
- 18:23Speaker 3: you're saying, or they love what you're saying. You may
- 18:25Speaker 3: be two threads away and one of them they love you,
- 18:27Speaker 3: one of them they hate you, and it's it's pretty
- 18:30Speaker 3: cool to see. Do you ever like, did you have
- 18:32Speaker 3: a Google search sell on your name so it tells
- 18:33Speaker 3: you who's posting about you?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Two years ago?
- 18:36Speaker 6: I did, yeah, And then I learned that's not how
- 18:38Speaker 6: I want to wake up in the morning.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I had to stop a chance.
- 18:40Speaker 6: But for real, Now, before I ever got into our business,
- 18:44Speaker 6: I was a diehard message board guy, like loved Rivals
- 18:48Speaker 6: in twenty four to seven, So I was a subscriber
- 18:50Speaker 6: to all those and I think the biggest piece of
- 18:53Speaker 6: gold that at the time twenty four seven Sports delivered
- 18:56Speaker 6: was one membership gets you access to all the boards.
- 18:58Speaker 6: And that was great because I wanted to see what
- 19:00Speaker 6: is going on with everyone. But I realized, like people
- 19:03Speaker 6: in the college football media ecosystem, they weren't tapping into that.
- 19:06Speaker 6: They didn't understand that's the subculture, like that's where you go.
- 19:10Speaker 6: And so I as soon as I got here and
- 19:13Speaker 6: we started doing a national college football so I started
- 19:15Speaker 6: featuring that stuff. I mean, we would we would die
- 19:17Speaker 6: really deep into the message board weeds, and I had
- 19:21Speaker 6: never seen anything like that. Now a lot of people
- 19:23Speaker 6: do that, but at the time it was foreign currency.
- 19:26Speaker 6: It was Hey, let's all delve into the same wheelbarrow
- 19:29Speaker 6: of the same half dozen topics, and if anyone else
- 19:31Speaker 6: is talking about it, will talk about it. But if
- 19:33Speaker 6: it's not out there, it's it's not worth our time.
- 19:36Speaker 6: And it was so detached from what the actual language
- 19:38Speaker 6: and what the actual you know, juice in the college
- 19:41Speaker 6: football ecosystem was. And I think, if anything, a a
- 19:46Speaker 6: typical or non traditional media YouTube, the entire digital media
- 19:51Speaker 6: structure has allowed a lot more synergy between what's really
- 19:56Speaker 6: being talked about and what's really being covered.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Do you feel that Kentucky basketball fans are the worst?
- 20:00Speaker 3: And why?
- 20:03Speaker 6: See, here's the fortunate part about me. I don't have
- 20:05Speaker 6: to shift to talking about basketball. I just get to
- 20:07Speaker 6: do college football.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Then do you feel like Alabama football fans are the worst?
- 20:10Speaker 2: And why? All right, so right now FSU fans are
- 20:13Speaker 2: the worst? For me? That's right true.
- 20:15Speaker 6: That's tair though, because I took the extremely hypocritical stance
- 20:20Speaker 6: of saying, hey, I do think FSU got screwed being
- 20:23Speaker 6: out of the playoff but I would also have put
- 20:25Speaker 6: Alabama in over FSU, which naturally makes a rifle fan go, well,
- 20:30Speaker 6: you can't have that stance.
- 20:31Speaker 2: That makes no sense.
- 20:33Speaker 6: And my whole thing was, I think I just have
- 20:35Speaker 6: different criteria than the College Football Playoff Committee, Like I
- 20:38Speaker 6: got my own way of looking at it. If they
- 20:40Speaker 6: claim to go by their criteria, they got it wrong.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I think at.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Least I took the same And I felt like it
- 20:46Speaker 3: was a Week's stance too, where I said, yeah, Florstate
- 20:48Speaker 3: got screwed, but I don't want to say himnute. I'm gad
- 20:49Speaker 3: they didn't get in it because it had been a
- 20:51Speaker 3: bloodbath regardless, because you know that.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I mean, look at the Georgia game.
- 20:56Speaker 3: They're fourteen point dogs and a non playoff game, and
- 21:00Speaker 3: it would have been the same way, and it had
- 21:02Speaker 3: been ugly to have been tcuesque except in round one.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I think the best thing for them as if they
- 21:06Speaker 3: can go win this game claiming national championship.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Dude, this is it now.
- 21:09Speaker 6: That's why no one else said that the twenty seventeen
- 21:12Speaker 6: season when Central Florida got UF.
- 21:16Speaker 2: They hung the band right right.
- 21:17Speaker 6: No one can stop them either. This is not the NFL.
- 21:20Speaker 6: This is college sports. You can do anything, you can
- 21:21Speaker 6: say anything, you can be anything you want to. It's
- 21:23Speaker 6: like make Believe world. And so UCF. I met a
- 21:26Speaker 6: game at TWU Lane last year. It's the only G
- 21:28Speaker 6: five game I went to last year, and I was
- 21:31Speaker 6: on the sideline and they're playing UCF and one of
- 21:33Speaker 6: their administrators comes up to me and and kind of,
- 21:35Speaker 6: you know, nudges you in the ribs.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And says, hey, hey, we've heard what you've said.
- 21:39Speaker 6: We've heard you say that that year us getting left
- 21:42Speaker 6: out was the best thing to ever happen to us.
- 21:44Speaker 6: And we publicly say no, no, no, defiantly, but behind
- 21:47Speaker 6: the scenes, yeah, you're right, because we probably don't win
- 21:50Speaker 6: the title and we don't get to claim championship. But
- 21:53Speaker 6: also there's this equity that is invaluable in being able
- 21:58Speaker 6: to preach us against the world and all we got
- 22:00Speaker 6: is us and if we leave it up to them,
- 22:02Speaker 6: they'll screw us every time. Well, Florida State gets that,
- 22:04Speaker 6: but they've got the massive like power five sticker on
- 22:08Speaker 6: their helmet, they've got brand equity, and now Mike Norvel
- 22:11Speaker 6: clearly one of the best in the game. Now they've
- 22:14Speaker 6: got the right guy. And they also get to preach that, like,
- 22:17Speaker 6: they get to create that culture of back against the wall,
- 22:20Speaker 6: like all we got is in the edge of the cliff,
- 22:22Speaker 6: behind us, us against the world. I think they'll be
- 22:25Speaker 6: a lot better off for you just can't say that
- 22:26Speaker 6: right now to any FSU fan.
- 22:28Speaker 3: And luckily they're not playing someone like a Liberty if
- 22:30Speaker 3: they wanted to actually claim a championship. They're playing Georgia,
- 22:32Speaker 3: who you could argue, Michigan Georgia probably the best two
- 22:35Speaker 3: teams in college football. Right, So if it were Liberty,
- 22:39Speaker 3: because Liberty playing Oregon, that's gonna be that's gonna be
- 22:41Speaker 3: a ugly game.
- 22:41Speaker 2: That's just gonna be ugly game.
- 22:43Speaker 3: But if Florida State beats someone like Liberty, then okay,
- 22:45Speaker 3: yeah you're undefeated. But if they beat Georgia, now I
- 22:48Speaker 3: would get rings because we went undefeated and we beat
- 22:52Speaker 3: possibly the best team in college football.
- 22:55Speaker 6: So the day the selection happened, the Selection Sunday Black
- 22:58Speaker 6: Sunday as they call it down there. Now, I have
- 23:00Speaker 6: it on good authority that, of course, the presenting network ESPN,
- 23:05Speaker 6: they have a crew at every outpost. You got one
- 23:08Speaker 6: in Tuscaloosa, one in Austin, and of course you've got
- 23:11Speaker 6: a crew in Tallahassee, and the general unspoken agreement is
- 23:16Speaker 6: after the selection is made, whether you make it or not,
- 23:19Speaker 6: you're gonna give us five minutes and you know we're
- 23:21Speaker 6: gonna get some sound from you. It's the same way
- 23:23Speaker 6: in like a conference championship game, you always hear from
- 23:25Speaker 6: the losing coach, and that's predetermined, that's decided on before
- 23:28Speaker 6: the game's ever played, so that you can't have someone
- 23:30Speaker 6: wiggle off the hook. Well, I have it on fairly
- 23:32Speaker 6: good authority that when it came time for Mike Norvell
- 23:35Speaker 6: to give his post selection sound in no uncertain terms,
- 23:41Speaker 6: ESPN will told I'm not doing that.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Get out of here.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Because they've rightly or wrongly, they view major corporate college
- 23:48Speaker 6: football media ESPN being the driving force as part of
- 23:52Speaker 6: what boxed them out of the college football playoff. And
- 23:55Speaker 6: because we never get to see behind the scenes, because
- 23:58Speaker 6: you and I are not privy to the the mechanisms
- 24:01Speaker 6: that go into deciding those final four. You never get
- 24:04Speaker 6: to see a committee vote, you never get to hear
- 24:06Speaker 6: the conversation. How can I say they're wrong? I can't
- 24:09Speaker 6: say they're wrong. I got my thoughts. You got your thoughts,
- 24:11Speaker 6: but you can't say definitively that anything more went into
- 24:15Speaker 6: it than what's gonna give us the best TV product.
- 24:18Speaker 6: And I know we're expanding from four to twelve, but
- 24:21Speaker 6: I don't know that that protocol is going to change
- 24:23Speaker 6: moving forward. Like I think that Georgia TCU game last year,
- 24:26Speaker 6: I think it kicked a snowball down the hill because
- 24:28Speaker 6: I don't think the same methodology was used this year
- 24:31Speaker 6: as was used last year.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I think that was a turning point.
- 24:34Speaker 6: And someone somewhere during that sixty five seven blowout said,
- 24:38Speaker 6: we're not dealing with this again, Like if we got
- 24:40Speaker 6: it to do over again, we're gonna put an Alabama
- 24:43Speaker 6: in over at TCU. It just so happens Bama was
- 24:45Speaker 6: the team right there on the prespice again this year,
- 24:47Speaker 6: and they put them in over FSU, And it could
- 24:50Speaker 6: have been nothing more than we think that's going to
- 24:52Speaker 6: give us.
- 24:52Speaker 2: A better television product, and by the way, it will.
- 24:55Speaker 6: I just you have a whole separate debate of whether
- 24:57Speaker 6: that's ethical and the right way to go about choosing
- 24:59Speaker 6: your final teams.
- 25:01Speaker 3: With Flora State, they knew what the protocol was. Win
- 25:06Speaker 3: games and then there's a group of people that get
- 25:08Speaker 3: to decide. It's like the Grammys. You get all the
- 25:10Speaker 3: votes you want by everybody voting in, but there's still
- 25:12Speaker 3: a group of people that can go, we're not doing that.
- 25:15Speaker 3: They can still override the Grammy, which is bizarre. But
- 25:19Speaker 3: everybody knows the rules as they're playing the game. It
- 25:21Speaker 3: wasn't like the board or the group of people that
- 25:25Speaker 3: are putting in their votes. It wasn't like that was
- 25:26Speaker 3: a surprise to anybody, so them go, I can't believe this. No,
- 25:31Speaker 3: but that was possibly gonna happen to anybody. It just
- 25:33Speaker 3: so happened to you, and you don't have a quarterback.
- 25:36Speaker 3: I'm glad they're not in. They did get screwed, but
- 25:38Speaker 3: I'm glad they're not in because that would have been
- 25:40Speaker 3: pretty freaking boring. I like what the coaches do at
- 25:43Speaker 3: the end of the regular season, whenever the poll comes
- 25:45Speaker 3: out and the coaches have to say where they voted.
- 25:46Speaker 2: It's I think it's the one where you have to.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Show all of your vote, Like they should have to
- 25:50Speaker 3: do that with this, like who are the people on
- 25:51Speaker 3: the committee and show us your vote.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I think that would be a great Netflix show.
- 25:57Speaker 6: So this is a point that I took for granted
- 26:00Speaker 6: in the past. I always just assumed if you're on
- 26:02Speaker 6: the committee, you know the sport, you follow the sport intimately,
- 26:06Speaker 6: just like I always assumed ignorantly as a kid, if
- 26:09Speaker 6: someone's got a Heisman vote, certainly they love college football.
- 26:12Speaker 6: That's not the case, right, And the more that you
- 26:14Speaker 6: dive into it, the more you realize these people kind
- 26:17Speaker 6: of sort of may be ill qualified to hold these
- 26:20Speaker 6: roles or to hold these responsibilities and with the committee.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Like I had a buddy the other day, and it
- 26:25Speaker 6: was embarrassing because I'm supposed to be the one sending
- 26:27Speaker 6: this to him.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be the one who knows it.
- 26:29Speaker 6: But I had not really looked into the background of
- 26:32Speaker 6: a lot of the playoff committees, you know, day to
- 26:34Speaker 6: day activities.
- 26:36Speaker 2: What roles have they held.
- 26:37Speaker 6: You got some folks who at best have sort of
- 26:40Speaker 6: brushed up against college football in the past. But you
- 26:43Speaker 6: look at them and the bullet points on their resume indicate, Okay,
- 26:47Speaker 6: this person could be on the board of directors for
- 26:49Speaker 6: a fuel company, but why is this person deciding the
- 26:52Speaker 6: college football playoff? And that's kind of where you get
- 26:54Speaker 6: into the more granular area of Yeah, I happen to
- 26:57Speaker 6: agree with the decision they made, but you could arrive
- 27:00Speaker 6: at right decision totally flawed logic, and I've still got
- 27:03Speaker 6: a debate to have with you. And I don't think
- 27:05Speaker 6: that's going anywhere, because as you inject more money into it,
- 27:08Speaker 6: into buying the rights for these games, you're gonna want
- 27:10Speaker 6: more of a say into the product that's being given
- 27:13Speaker 6: to you. You don't want some detached committee handing you
- 27:16Speaker 6: matchups that otherwise you never would pay for. And then
- 27:19Speaker 6: that's not the spirit of competition, that's not the real
- 27:21Speaker 6: spirit of sports.
- 27:22Speaker 2: But that's where we're heading.
- 27:24Speaker 3: The ACC and Florida State don't have the best reputation
- 27:26Speaker 3: any I mean, best relationship anyway. Florida State wants out.
- 27:29Speaker 3: So does in your opinion, does this affect that in
- 27:32Speaker 3: any way?
- 27:34Speaker 2: Will they just pay now?
- 27:35Speaker 6: I think it probably it was already going in that direction,
- 27:38Speaker 6: and I think it probably just just kicked it in
- 27:40Speaker 6: the butt a little bit. And maybe let's just say
- 27:42Speaker 6: you had fence riders. Let's say you had folks that
- 27:44Speaker 6: were indifferent that you know, may may wear a suit
- 27:47Speaker 6: that costs more than my wardrobe per week, and they
- 27:50Speaker 6: were like, we're so far above all of the message
- 27:54Speaker 6: board and twitter noise. Well, now all of a sudden
- 27:56Speaker 6: they see this directly impact their bottom line and they
- 27:59Speaker 6: take it seriously. And maybe that was the signature you
- 28:02Speaker 6: needed to really expedite the process. I get the feeling
- 28:05Speaker 6: that that sort of the overlying or maybe underlying storyline
- 28:10Speaker 6: that's that's emerged from this, is anyone who was a
- 28:12Speaker 6: holdout down there about getting on board and getting out
- 28:14Speaker 6: of the acc no matter the cost.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I don't think anyone's on the fence on that anymore.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Florida SA fans, because I know you messaged me I
- 28:22Speaker 3: love you. You got screwed, and I'd be upset too,
- 28:24Speaker 3: but we're glad you're not in because it would.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Have been bad. We saw them. We saw them bally
- 28:28Speaker 2: play Louisville and it was terrible.
- 28:30Speaker 3: And I think I could have been convinced had they
- 28:31Speaker 3: what Louisville. I think I could have been taken to
- 28:35Speaker 3: the direction of we should let them in. It was
- 28:38Speaker 3: a third string quarterback plan too, right there. Second string
- 28:40Speaker 3: quarterback had a get like a concussion and left. Yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 3: I was there on the third So I think I
- 28:44Speaker 3: could have been convinced, but I wasn't and I'm not.
- 28:47Speaker 3: And I think they also know. I think deep in
- 28:49Speaker 3: their hearts they also know well they do. So here's
- 28:52Speaker 3: here was my biggest problem. We can spend an hour
- 28:55Speaker 3: or one more minute on this if you want to.
- 28:57Speaker 3: My biggest problem was the week before the finals selection.
- 29:01Speaker 3: The committee chair, not the committee chair, the executive director
- 29:03Speaker 3: of the playoff, Bill Hancock just voluntarily comes out in
- 29:07Speaker 3: an interview with ESPN and says, Yeah, most deserving is
- 29:11Speaker 3: not even a phrase that is in our nomenclature. It's
- 29:15Speaker 3: not even in our We don't care about that. We
- 29:17Speaker 3: care about putting the best teams in. That was the
- 29:19Speaker 3: canary in the coal mine. That was them telling you, hey,
- 29:21Speaker 3: we're deviating from past protocol because this is no matter
- 29:24Speaker 3: what he said, that's not the way they've always gone
- 29:26Speaker 3: about it. And if FSU folks want to be mad,
- 29:29Speaker 3: don't be mad at you, don't be mad at me,
- 29:30Speaker 3: don't be mad at Bama.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Be mad at those folks. They're the ones who left
- 29:33Speaker 2: you out.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Also, Georgia got screwed. If that's the case, very true, accurate.
- 29:36Speaker 5: So is it pure entertainment or is it the best
- 29:41Speaker 5: for football teams.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I think they're pretty synonymous. They would say yes to that.
- 29:44Speaker 6: They would just say yeah, yeah, there's no separation, right, yeah, okay,
- 29:49Speaker 6: but not the most deserving. Most deserving is not even
- 29:53Speaker 6: in their language. Who cares about deserving? Who cares what
- 29:56Speaker 6: you deserve? We just care about what we want. Yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 6: so we can move on. If Floridas State can beat the.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Georgia we got our on demand playoff.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and now Florida State can be Georgia and claim
- 30:06Speaker 3: a championship. Other than that, there's really nothing else to
- 30:09Speaker 3: do except hopefully you get in the graces next year.
- 30:11Speaker 3: If you're like thirteen the committee, it's like arguing with
- 30:14Speaker 3: a nump, like you're not gonna get the call you're
- 30:17Speaker 3: arguing about or arguing with the ref. You're not gonna
- 30:19Speaker 3: get that call. However, God, he doesn't want to do that.
- 30:22Speaker 3: He want to have to go through that again. So
- 30:24Speaker 3: if it's close, maybe you get the benefit of the doubt.
- 30:27Speaker 3: How does it make Jordan Travis look like baller?
- 30:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 30:31Speaker 6: Baller liked by the way, you know. An another point
- 30:34Speaker 6: of hypocrisy. FSU fans have pointed out that I could
- 30:37Speaker 6: not immediately push back on is they said, Okay, this
- 30:40Speaker 6: dude is so valuable that without him we don't war
- 30:42Speaker 6: in a playoff spot, right, Okay, yeah, well why didn't
- 30:45Speaker 6: he win the Heisman? And I'm like, I got no response.
- 30:50Speaker 6: I don't even know what to say.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Would in the move have been in hindsight and you
- 30:53Speaker 3: wouldn't do it now and you didn't know to do it.
- 30:55Speaker 3: But just lie about how injured he was? Oh yes,
- 30:58Speaker 3: and just yes, he's.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Day to day.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Definitely be back for the ball game, because then they
- 31:02Speaker 3: can't use that with him possibly. I mean, that's what
- 31:05Speaker 3: we all just learned here, like our parents taught us.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Lie right, it's just lie because it's about money. It's
- 31:10Speaker 3: all money.
- 31:11Speaker 6: I got a buddy in the odds making world who said,
- 31:13Speaker 6: that's the biggest lesson we took away from this is
- 31:16Speaker 6: they're pushing very very quickly with the NCAA for like
- 31:20Speaker 6: universal legislation about overriding injury reports, because they want it
- 31:24Speaker 6: to be like pro sports are, where you have to
- 31:26Speaker 6: report injuries and there's like an independent doctor involved, to
- 31:29Speaker 6: where it's out of your hands whether you're going to
- 31:31Speaker 6: mislead the public.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Because they looked at it like you just did.
- 31:34Speaker 6: And they said this was just a signal to everyone
- 31:37Speaker 6: to lie about injuries in the future, which is going
- 31:39Speaker 6: to damage the integrity of the odds we put out
- 31:41Speaker 6: and it's going to make us very vulnerable to people
- 31:45Speaker 6: gaining that that information before we do. So they got
- 31:47Speaker 6: to fix that. Like that injury report. I think that's
- 31:50Speaker 6: going to be in the next one to two years.
- 31:52Speaker 6: If what I'm hearing is right, that's going to be
- 31:54Speaker 6: totally overhauled and you will see uniformity in reporting injuries
- 31:58Speaker 6: the same way that they do on Sunday.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Is a question about just being cool.
- 32:04Speaker 3: We're somewhere what we're at Arkansas this last week we
- 32:07Speaker 3: do a show. We travel around and talk to head
- 32:09Speaker 3: coaches and we have we put on the pads. We
- 32:11Speaker 3: were doing basketball with coach Muster Arkansas though, and we're
- 32:15Speaker 3: doing we're professional ish And let's say somebody here on
- 32:19Speaker 3: our little crew grabs like a hat during the interview
- 32:21Speaker 3: and says, coach, will you sign this their own personal thing?
- 32:23Speaker 3: How do you feel that makes your establishment look if
- 32:27Speaker 3: you're asking for autographs.
- 32:28Speaker 1: It's a good question.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you for that great question. Thank you.
- 32:31Speaker 2: All right, So.
- 32:34Speaker 6: It it's Okay, if it's a temp worker, if it's
- 32:40Speaker 6: someone that you've brought along that is not part Like
- 32:42Speaker 6: if I pull up his shirt, there is no Bobby
- 32:44Speaker 6: Bones tattoo.
- 32:45Speaker 3: On his lower definite tattoo. Yeah, always a tattoo across
- 32:48Speaker 3: as genitals like that dedicated. Yeah, that's pretty pathetic, That's
- 32:51Speaker 3: what I'm saying, especially right in the middle, maybe even
- 32:54Speaker 3: at the very end end. Maybe it's I don't know
- 32:56Speaker 3: if anybody has anything they want to say about this,
- 32:58Speaker 3: did anybody here anything?
- 32:59Speaker 2: Will say? Hold on? Hold on?
- 33:00Speaker 6: Let met me ask you a question, because mus is
- 33:02Speaker 6: a pretty awesome guy, right, yes, did he save their
- 33:04Speaker 6: dog from a burning building?
- 33:05Speaker 3: Like?
- 33:06Speaker 6: Is there some extenuating circumstance that I need to know?
- 33:08Speaker 6: Great question, Well let's go to Read. I feel like
- 33:11Speaker 6: Read would be pretty knowledgeable on this situation. Read, you
- 33:13Speaker 6: had a hat in your bag and I just finished
- 33:15Speaker 6: talking to Mons like half an hour, and go ahead.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I just want to say I was trying to do
- 33:19Speaker 2: a good thing for my future brother in law.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Okay, it wasn't for me, Okay, but.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Uh I wanted to uh just make him happy for
- 33:27Speaker 2: the Christmas season, just he loves Coach Muss man, he
- 33:32Speaker 2: loves coach Mousk. He was like, I would die if
- 33:34Speaker 2: I could get his autograph. I saw the opportunity and
- 33:36Speaker 2: I took it. But he's still alive.
- 33:39Speaker 3: He's still alive. Does he know what you went through
- 33:42Speaker 3: to get that?
- 33:43Speaker 2: He does not. No, well maybe maybe you don't tell him.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I don't tell.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Do you feel did you ever think again, like, maybe
- 33:49Speaker 3: that just wasn't the perfect time. Maybe I should have
- 33:50Speaker 3: waited till we were packing up and leaving. Yeah for sure, Yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 3: for sure, Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 2: For sindsight, just making it. That's hey.
- 33:56Speaker 6: So so I had something like this happen. So we
- 34:00Speaker 6: are I'm with CBS at SEC Media Days two years ago.
- 34:04Speaker 6: We're down in Atlanta, and the benefit of that is
- 34:07Speaker 6: if you have the media rights to the conference, every
- 34:09Speaker 6: head coach has to come to you. So we're set
- 34:11Speaker 6: up in a room not too dissimilar to what we
- 34:12Speaker 6: are right now, only I'm over there and every.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Head coach sits here.
- 34:15Speaker 6: So Nick Saban comes in, and when Saban walks in,
- 34:18Speaker 6: it's totally different than when any other coach walks in
- 34:20Speaker 6: the room, and everyone just kind of stands at attention.
- 34:22Speaker 6: So our company owns Max Preps as well. And there's
- 34:26Speaker 6: a kid over there, Chris Stonebreaker, nicknamed Stony. He is
- 34:29Speaker 6: the loosest, freest spirit in the world. Everybody loves him.
- 34:33Speaker 6: He does not have a natural enemy on this planet.
- 34:35Speaker 6: He's basically read.
- 34:36Speaker 1: He's basically.
- 34:39Speaker 6: Max preps read. He walks around with his lav mic.
- 34:42Speaker 6: He's just put the lave mic in your face sort
- 34:43Speaker 6: of guy. So Saban sits there. Every second of this
- 34:46Speaker 6: man's day is taken into account on a master spreadsheet somewhere.
- 34:51Speaker 6: Saban sits down. I do nine minutes and thirty five
- 34:54Speaker 6: seconds with him, because we have ten minutes with him.
- 34:57Speaker 6: And then Saban's on his way out the door, and Stoney,
- 35:00Speaker 6: without asking anyone, just walks around the table and takes
- 35:04Speaker 6: a live mic and puts it in Nick Saban's face
- 35:06Speaker 6: as if that's actually about to happen.
- 35:08Speaker 2: And then you have like swat.
- 35:10Speaker 6: And I think Saban's got a couple of FBI guards
- 35:12Speaker 6: with him. It's just like Stony's against the wall and
- 35:14Speaker 6: Nick Saban's like, what are we doing here? But he
- 35:17Speaker 6: looks at and he doesn't have to say it. He
- 35:19Speaker 6: looks at him, what are we doing here? And then
- 35:20Speaker 6: everyone on the CBS crew has to look at stony
- 35:22Speaker 6: and say it's okay. When Eli Drinkwitz comes in here
- 35:27Speaker 6: in five minutes, Hitman will probably play ball with you too.
- 35:29Speaker 6: This guy, we're just gonna treat a little bit differently.
- 35:31Speaker 6: We should have told you, but we didn't let you
- 35:34Speaker 6: know ahead of time because we just assumed everyone got it.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Yeah that is Max preps read. Yes, you're a good dude.
- 35:39Speaker 2: We love you. Thanks. I screw up sometimes, Okay, Yes,
- 35:43Speaker 2: it's okay.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Then you're human. Yeah, you're human.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and at the end, we'll just do it at
- 35:46Speaker 3: the end for now on.
- 35:47Speaker 6: Look, Look, it's like my mema always told me, if
- 35:49Speaker 6: no one ever threw their reputation under the bus to
- 35:51Speaker 6: get an autograph, you wouldn't have anything to regret for
- 35:54Speaker 6: the rest of your life.
- 35:55Speaker 1: It's true.
- 35:55Speaker 3: We all need regrets because we learn and grow absolutely
- 35:58Speaker 3: and get better.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Yeah, good, good.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 36:01Speaker 3: The story about your show and how I got to
- 36:03Speaker 3: where it is now it's super inspiring because, I mean,
- 36:05Speaker 3: you're a hustler. Obviously you're talented, but this wasn't always
- 36:10Speaker 3: what you were doing. You kind of had to take
- 36:11Speaker 3: some risks in order to step away from even paying
- 36:14Speaker 3: jobs in sports to do and build the show that
- 36:17Speaker 3: you're doing now. So how did it start for you
- 36:20Speaker 3: when you wanted to get into sports.
- 36:22Speaker 6: I was working in a fabric warehouse in Columbus, Georgia,
- 36:26Speaker 6: had no end whatsoever.
- 36:27Speaker 2: I didn't know anyone in the business.
- 36:28Speaker 6: I had dropped out of college for a little while
- 36:30Speaker 6: because I was wasting money. I didn't know what I
- 36:32Speaker 6: wanted to do. And I would sit there and there
- 36:34Speaker 6: was this little blue like transistor looking radio that I
- 36:38Speaker 6: would listen to sports talk on all day.
- 36:41Speaker 2: And I knew that I.
- 36:43Speaker 6: Would love to do that, and I thought I had
- 36:45Speaker 6: like reasonable amounts of god given talent. But everyone thinks
- 36:48Speaker 6: they can do it, so I had no proof. But
- 36:51Speaker 6: I had no end. I didn't know, like I had
- 36:53Speaker 6: no idea which way to go. So I listen every
- 36:56Speaker 6: day and there was there was a local sports talk
- 36:59Speaker 6: show there in Columbus that emanated from just down the
- 37:01Speaker 6: road at fifteen eighty the zone there in Columbus, and
- 37:04Speaker 6: so I hit up the PD over and over and
- 37:06Speaker 6: over again. I think through Facebook Messenger at the time,
- 37:08Speaker 6: and I was like, genuine, now, I'm not looking to
- 37:11Speaker 6: be put on air. I just want to come observe
- 37:13Speaker 6: I've never been in a working radio studio.
- 37:14Speaker 2: How old were you at this time? I wanted to
- 37:16Speaker 2: have been our early twenties, so not twelve.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Oh no, no, yeah, like an adult man going I
- 37:20Speaker 3: want to come and watch this.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow.
- 37:22Speaker 6: I just wanted to observe the process, and so he
- 37:24Speaker 6: hit me up. He hit me back finally and let
- 37:26Speaker 6: me in. And so I did that a couple of
- 37:28Speaker 6: times a week for about two months, and there was
- 37:30Speaker 6: this random Thursday. It was in the heart of college
- 37:32Speaker 6: football season in twenty twelve, I want to say eleven
- 37:36Speaker 6: or twelve, and his co host just calls out, just
- 37:39Speaker 6: like stomach bug, five minutes before airtime. I got to go,
- 37:41Speaker 6: and with no time to prep, he just tosses me
- 37:44Speaker 6: on air. He says, hey, do you want to fill
- 37:45Speaker 6: in for him today? And I'd never got taken off
- 37:47Speaker 6: air after that because what I had done about three
- 37:50Speaker 6: years leading up to that is I would drive in
- 37:53Speaker 6: my gray Toyota Tundra and I would turn the radio
- 37:56Speaker 6: off and I would just simulate sports talk radio.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Those were my reps.
- 37:59Speaker 6: I was always told, you're going to have to get
- 38:01Speaker 6: thousands of hours of reps before you ever sound like
- 38:03Speaker 6: you know, what you're doing, and so I did that.
- 38:05Speaker 6: I just simulated it in my truck, and it paid off.
- 38:08Speaker 6: I never knew it was going to pay off like that,
- 38:10Speaker 6: but it paid off because I got put on air
- 38:11Speaker 6: that day and halfway sounded like I had some experience.
- 38:14Speaker 6: And afterwards he asked, like, where have you worked before?
- 38:17Speaker 6: Where have you been in the business. I said, nowhere.
- 38:19Speaker 6: I just I told him the story, like that's why
- 38:21Speaker 6: I kind of sound like I've done radio before. And
- 38:24Speaker 6: so we stay on air every day. I was on
- 38:26Speaker 6: there five days a week for two or three years,
- 38:28Speaker 6: and a general manager of a local TV station calls
- 38:30Speaker 6: me and says, I listened to you every day. You've
- 38:32Speaker 6: never met me, but I listened on the drive home.
- 38:34Speaker 6: We were afternoon drive show, and he said, I'd love
- 38:36Speaker 6: to just do a local college football show here on
- 38:38Speaker 6: our D two or CW affiliate at night. Would you
- 38:41Speaker 6: like to do it? I said, of course, I've never
- 38:43Speaker 6: done TV. Is that a problem? Of course, it's not
- 38:44Speaker 6: a problem. It was a problem, by the way. But
- 38:48Speaker 6: so I get over there and they had some churn
- 38:51Speaker 6: in the sports department. He said, oh, by the way,
- 38:52Speaker 6: do you want to be the sports anchor?
- 38:53Speaker 2: As well.
- 38:54Speaker 6: Totally ill qualified for every one of these positions, but
- 38:56Speaker 6: I took it because I didn't notice say no, and
- 38:59Speaker 6: so work my way up and end up doing, you know,
- 39:01Speaker 6: an Auburn, Alabama, Georgia themed show weeknights at ten o'clock.
- 39:07Speaker 6: No one's really watching, but you're getting experience. And I
- 39:10Speaker 6: realized about twenty fourteen or fifteen that these platforms like
- 39:15Speaker 6: Facebook they were starting to add live streaming capability, and
- 39:18Speaker 6: these platforms like YouTube shortly thereafter they started to add
- 39:21Speaker 6: live streaming capability. And to that point, I had looked,
- 39:24Speaker 6: as many people probably have, and there was like this
- 39:27Speaker 6: huge Berlin wall in front of you. If you didn't
- 39:29Speaker 6: come out of Syracuse from Northwestern, like, if you didn't
- 39:32Speaker 6: have a family member in the business, if you didn't
- 39:33Speaker 6: have an n or classical training or education, you weren't
- 39:37Speaker 6: going to be a big time legacy media type sports broadcast.
- 39:41Speaker 2: You just weren't. And then all of a sudden, those.
- 39:43Speaker 6: Those big streaming platforms start to give you live capability,
- 39:47Speaker 6: and it's like that Berlin Wall comes down because all
- 39:49Speaker 6: of a sudden, overheads no longer an obstacle. You can
- 39:52Speaker 6: do whatever you want in your bedroom distribution is no
- 39:55Speaker 6: longer an obstacle. You have a worldwide audience at your fingertips.
- 39:59Speaker 6: And so I realized, I don't have to be local anymore.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Everybody can be national. If you have the wherewithal and
- 40:04Speaker 6: you want to grind a little bit, you could be national.
- 40:06Speaker 6: And so I started to do that independently, and they
- 40:08Speaker 6: shut it down because my employer said, you can't be
- 40:11Speaker 6: doing what we pay you for. Your employer shut it down.
- 40:14Speaker 6: My employer shut it down. And that was okay because
- 40:16Speaker 6: I had about a year left on my contract. So
- 40:19Speaker 6: it came time to renew and I declined an option
- 40:21Speaker 6: from them. And I'm the news anchor by the way,
- 40:23Speaker 6: at the time, I've been elevated to news anchor and they.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Gere anchoring the freaking news. Yes.
- 40:27Speaker 6: Sure was wow, that's crazy. The last thing I wanted
- 40:30Speaker 6: to do. But it was a paycheck. And so they
- 40:33Speaker 6: come to me, the GM and the news director come
- 40:35Speaker 6: to me, and I sit down in their office the
- 40:37Speaker 6: last day of my contract, and they had been calling
- 40:39Speaker 6: my bluff essentially, and they said, we thought you were
- 40:42Speaker 6: just trying to get more money out of us. Are
- 40:43Speaker 6: you really not going to sign this contract? And I
- 40:46Speaker 6: said no, because you won't let me do what I want.
- 40:48Speaker 6: And they realized that was legitimately the sticking point. It
- 40:50Speaker 6: wasn't a leverage tactic. That was really the sticking point,
- 40:53Speaker 6: and so they said, okay, we need to come to
- 40:55Speaker 6: an agreement, like we don't want to lose you as
- 40:56Speaker 6: a news anchor.
- 40:57Speaker 2: We got good numbers, like there's good viewer interact. So
- 41:00Speaker 2: what do we do?
- 41:01Speaker 6: And I said, well, if I can't be employed here
- 41:03Speaker 6: and do my independent stuff, how about I work ten
- 41:05Speaker 6: ninety nine. I'll work independent contract for you, but in
- 41:09Speaker 6: exchange for you paying me far less than you're going
- 41:11Speaker 6: to pay me salary wise, I want studio time to
- 41:14Speaker 6: be able to produce my own content. And at the time,
- 41:16Speaker 6: since we only produced a six pm and eleven PM newscast,
- 41:18Speaker 6: there was this wide open, wide out of time, and
- 41:21Speaker 6: so the GM almost laughed and said you want it,
- 41:24Speaker 6: you got it. And so immediately I launched a YouTube
- 41:27Speaker 6: channel and immediately we're able to do a studio quality broadcast,
- 41:31Speaker 6: first of its kind on digital media like a streaming platform.
- 41:36Speaker 2: And it set us apart a little bit.
- 41:37Speaker 6: And it took about a year and a half and
- 41:39Speaker 6: the folks at CBS and twenty four seven saw it
- 41:41Speaker 6: and said, we don't even have anything like that, like
- 41:44Speaker 6: do whatever you're doing, copy and paste it, but will
- 41:46Speaker 6: you move up here and do it for us?
- 41:48Speaker 2: And so I started just down the road.
- 41:50Speaker 6: We broadcast out of the CMT building and I started
- 41:52Speaker 6: there in twenty twenty, working for CBS in twenty four
- 41:55Speaker 6: to seven, and that was right before COVID set in,
- 41:59Speaker 6: and COVID sucked for everyone. But there was like a
- 42:03Speaker 6: side effect of it that, strictly in professional terms, ended
- 42:06Speaker 6: up being a blessing because so many people in the
- 42:08Speaker 6: sports media world deviated. So many people in the sporting
- 42:13Speaker 6: world period, not just college football, they fooled themselves into
- 42:16Speaker 6: thinking that the public cared about their opinion on nonsports
- 42:20Speaker 6: related topics, and so they started to go down that avenue.
- 42:23Speaker 6: And we just stuck to college football strictly on the show,
- 42:26Speaker 6: and we saw this massive influx of viewership. And it
- 42:29Speaker 6: really wasn't that we were doing anything too special. It
- 42:31Speaker 6: was that people were leaving their traditional watering holes in
- 42:35Speaker 6: droves because they were getting content they didn't want. And
- 42:38Speaker 6: so we scaled while there was no college football happening,
- 42:41Speaker 6: which was the craziest thing ever and the show started
- 42:45Speaker 6: making money immediately. Advertisers came in immediately, I mean we
- 42:48Speaker 6: got Academy Sports and Outdoors on board immediately. FanDuel came
- 42:52Speaker 6: in shortly thereafter, and at that point, it's like the
- 42:55Speaker 6: company just gives you free rain, do whatever you want to.
- 42:57Speaker 6: Here are unlimited resources. You decide your schedule, you decide
- 43:01Speaker 6: your travel, and so you go very quickly from making
- 43:05Speaker 6: twenty seven grand a year down in Columbus to you're
- 43:08Speaker 6: in a world you never dream possible. And on the surface,
- 43:11Speaker 6: it looks like that happened over the span of twenty
- 43:14Speaker 6: four to thirty six forty eight months, and in reality
- 43:17Speaker 6: it's about a ten year process. But that point in
- 43:19Speaker 6: twenty fifteen where the walls came down and those platforms
- 43:22Speaker 6: started offering streaming, like that was the game changer. That's
- 43:26Speaker 6: out of my control, Like that's being blessed enough to
- 43:28Speaker 6: exist in the right time and hopefully you just got
- 43:31Speaker 6: yourself in the right place when the right time happens.
- 43:34Speaker 6: And that right place, right time. It kind of changed
- 43:36Speaker 6: my perspective on that because it sounds like a happenstance
- 43:38Speaker 6: thing right place, right time is just oh wow, this
- 43:41Speaker 6: happened in reality. You put yourself in the right place
- 43:45Speaker 6: and then let the right time find you. And that's
- 43:47Speaker 6: how it happened for me.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Do you deal with because again, for me, it's all
- 43:52Speaker 3: about eyeballs. I just want eyeballs. I don't care how
- 43:54Speaker 3: I get them. I don't care if I'm doing a
- 43:55Speaker 3: TV show on Disney Plus or if I'm doing something
- 43:57Speaker 3: on TikTok. Eyeballs are currency currency. Do you feel at
- 44:02Speaker 3: all because of how you did it? Because I do
- 44:04Speaker 3: in other ways too, because you came up through the
- 44:06Speaker 3: digital media that some people look at you as, oh,
- 44:08Speaker 3: you're just the internet guy, because that piss me off.
- 44:10Speaker 3: And it's like on the Internet guy, but I got
- 44:12Speaker 3: like eight times more listeners than you do.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Yes, I don't let it. I don't let it control
- 44:19Speaker 6: our methodology. But that is there, and look, I understand
- 44:23Speaker 6: it to an extent, you know, because not everyone over
- 44:26Speaker 6: in the legacy side is just this like trust fund baby,
- 44:29Speaker 6: who has handed their position. There are folks over there
- 44:31Speaker 6: who have grinded their way right and worked for nothing
- 44:34Speaker 6: as well, and so you know, they look at a
- 44:36Speaker 6: process that took them maybe thirty years to get where
- 44:39Speaker 6: they are at the highest rung of the ladder in
- 44:41Speaker 6: a company, and then they look over here, and relative
- 44:44Speaker 6: to their story, my story looks like a fast forward button.
- 44:47Speaker 6: And they look and they say, you wait, you didn't
- 44:50Speaker 6: have to spend mid six figures to gain a degree,
- 44:53Speaker 6: and you didn't have to work for nothing at a
- 44:55Speaker 6: newspaper here in the newspaper there, and do local radio
- 44:58Speaker 6: here and there, and you're still in this position. Like,
- 45:01Speaker 6: I don't respect that as much, and I don't have
- 45:03Speaker 6: a problem with that mentality as long as you give
- 45:06Speaker 6: it a chance, like something someone who has come from
- 45:08Speaker 6: a different path, as you give it a chance. And
- 45:11Speaker 6: what I've noticed is once folks gave our show a
- 45:14Speaker 6: chance and gave our college football content a chance, they
- 45:17Speaker 6: understood that I hold our content to as high a
- 45:20Speaker 6: standard as there is in the business.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Let's go get anything else.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:23Speaker 6: Yeah, And it's not just production quality, it's what am
- 45:26Speaker 6: I willing to let come out of my mouth. Because
- 45:28Speaker 6: I knew I was at the forefront of something as well,
- 45:30Speaker 6: Like I was kind of first in line, and so
- 45:32Speaker 6: I knew even though it's not necessarily my job, I
- 45:35Speaker 6: took it as my responsibility to know I'm the first
- 45:38Speaker 6: one here, and there are people in our business that
- 45:41Speaker 6: are going to judge every future opportunity they're willing to
- 45:44Speaker 6: offer someone who comes down the same road I came down,
- 45:47Speaker 6: based on whether they respect our content or not. And
- 45:49Speaker 6: so I take that really seriously, and I think that
- 45:52Speaker 6: we've been able to get other folks opportunities because of
- 45:55Speaker 6: the work we've done and because we don't sacrifice quality
- 45:58Speaker 6: and standard just because we can get away with it.
- 46:01Speaker 6: Other folks choose to take that approach, that's cool, We
- 46:03Speaker 6: don't take that approach. But over about the past two years,
- 46:08Speaker 6: the higher ups at CBS have realized that, and they've
- 46:11Speaker 6: looked at traffic patterns, and they've looked at revenue. And
- 46:15Speaker 6: two years ago, had you told me they were going
- 46:17Speaker 6: to put us on the main broadcast for the SEC
- 46:19Speaker 6: Championship game last week, I would have thought you were crazy,
- 46:21Speaker 6: Because even as recently as two years ago, I would
- 46:23Speaker 6: have thought we're in a good spot. But there is
- 46:26Speaker 6: a clear distinction between legacy CBS Sports and CBS Sports Digital.
- 46:32Speaker 6: And there are some very forward thinking folks you know,
- 46:35Speaker 6: that are in positions of power over there that have
- 46:37Speaker 6: seen what you really can't deny at this point in
- 46:40Speaker 6: terms of audience and traffic patterns, and to their credit,
- 46:43Speaker 6: they've said, let's invest more resource over here. Let's take
- 46:46Speaker 6: this bright white spotlight we've had, and we're not going
- 46:49Speaker 6: to totally invert it, but let's shift it a little
- 46:51Speaker 6: more over there.
- 46:51Speaker 2: And that's really all you need.
- 46:52Speaker 6: I mean, if you're doing quality work, that's all you need,
- 46:54Speaker 6: because at that point it should be like a crack
- 46:57Speaker 6: and a damn. You just kick the rest of the
- 46:58Speaker 6: thing down. If you get a crack, just kick the
- 47:00Speaker 6: rest of the thing down.
- 47:01Speaker 3: And old people die if I catch you. Guys in't
- 47:02Speaker 3: know old people with old method.
- 47:04Speaker 2: I've learned old people, old.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Execs die or they're out and they get sick, and
- 47:07Speaker 3: you're like, oh, I guess I'll just so let's talk
- 47:10Speaker 3: about Nil for a second. I'm a big NIL fan
- 47:13Speaker 3: because I think if a dude who's a great skateboarder
- 47:17Speaker 3: can get paid in a college classroom to skateboard on
- 47:19Speaker 3: the internet and have a brand, a football player shouldn't
- 47:22Speaker 3: be punished because he plays football. Obviously, you know the
- 47:26Speaker 3: dependent on. I'm a swinging hard right now, and it
- 47:29Speaker 3: is a wild west. I do anil deals with players
- 47:31Speaker 3: as well, just personally.
- 47:34Speaker 6: I do find and maybe you could tell me your
- 47:37Speaker 6: experience that are wrong. I do find that a lot
- 47:39Speaker 6: of these NIL deals, though, are a little inflated when
- 47:42Speaker 6: they're shared publicly, where people like I can't believe all
- 47:45Speaker 6: these millions of dollars and I'll talk to people and
- 47:48Speaker 6: it ain't that. What is your experience and what have
- 47:51Speaker 6: you learned about the NIL deals and what's reported versus
- 47:53Speaker 6: what's real. You don't have a players union that is
- 47:56Speaker 6: overseeing anything, okay. We talked to Nick Saban about this
- 47:59Speaker 6: last year year and he said, hey, my problem's not
- 48:02Speaker 6: with NIL like it's I'm Alabama. It's in my best
- 48:06Speaker 6: interest to be able to pay players, obviously because we
- 48:08Speaker 6: got more money than most of y'all do. He said,
- 48:10Speaker 6: my problem is there's no oversight. So everyone wants to say, hey,
- 48:14Speaker 6: these are essentially pro athletes. Okay, we're making money off
- 48:18Speaker 6: of their services, so in a sense, they are and
- 48:20Speaker 6: everyone wants to say, well, they should be paid for
- 48:23Speaker 6: their labor. Okay, who's going to oversee it? Like the
- 48:26Speaker 6: devil's in the details as usual, So in the NFL,
- 48:29Speaker 6: like every dime of your contract is going to be monitored,
- 48:32Speaker 6: and it's going to be facilitated by pre existing guardrails
- 48:35Speaker 6: and rules. In college total wild West, you can go
- 48:38Speaker 6: and completely take advantage of a kid. I mean, I,
- 48:41Speaker 6: as an agent, could walk up to you and I
- 48:44Speaker 6: can say, Hey, Bobby, your kid over here is a
- 48:46Speaker 6: four star receiver out of Jones bro He's going to
- 48:48Speaker 6: go to the University of Arkansas. We're gonna help facilitate it.
- 48:51Speaker 6: We're gonna get him deals with JB. Hunt and Tyson
- 48:53Speaker 6: Chicken and whatnot. And you just need to sign this
- 48:55Speaker 6: piece of paper. You don't worry about anything. We've got
- 48:57Speaker 6: the relationships will bring them to him.
- 49:00Speaker 2: And you sign a.
- 49:01Speaker 6: Piece of paper because you don't know any better, and
- 49:02Speaker 6: you don't have an agent or an attorney or lawyer
- 49:04Speaker 6: look it over, because you're a low income family who's
- 49:07Speaker 6: never been through this process before. And unbeknownst to you,
- 49:10Speaker 6: on that piece of paper, you signed away fifty five
- 49:13Speaker 6: percent of your earnings two said agent. And also you
- 49:16Speaker 6: locked in his right to represent you over the next
- 49:20Speaker 6: ten years of your career. And so he's got minimal investment.
- 49:23Speaker 6: There's minimal risk on his part if you don't pan out,
- 49:26Speaker 6: who cares. I'll just go get ten more kids. But
- 49:29Speaker 6: if you do pan out and you become an NFL player,
- 49:32Speaker 6: you just signed a piece of paper.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I'm representing him.
- 49:35Speaker 6: You can't go elsewhere, And so there is no player's
- 49:38Speaker 6: union overseeing that.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Like that's the big issue.
- 49:40Speaker 6: But when you start having that conversation, you notice it
- 49:43Speaker 6: took me like two and a half minutes to say
- 49:45Speaker 6: that no one wants that.
- 49:46Speaker 2: They wants it.
- 49:47Speaker 6: They want to do a SoundBite or a snapshot and
- 49:49Speaker 6: it needs to look good on a graphic at it
- 49:51Speaker 6: or it needs to go thirty thirty five seconds max.
- 49:53Speaker 2: So you're gonna lose the audience.
- 49:54Speaker 6: And you cannot explain nil in thirty or thirty five seconds.
- 49:57Speaker 6: It's not just about should a kid get paid? How
- 50:01Speaker 6: does the kid get paid? Who oversees it? Who's there
- 50:04Speaker 6: when the kid gets screwed? Like what guardrails and parameters
- 50:07Speaker 6: do you want to have in place? Who police?
- 50:08Speaker 3: Is that?
- 50:08Speaker 2: Is that the NCAA, is that the university?
- 50:11Speaker 6: I think ultimately it's gonna fall in the lap of
- 50:13Speaker 6: the conference, and ironically conferences are probably the best equipped
- 50:18Speaker 6: to deal with it because it's not so in the weeds.
- 50:20Speaker 6: But it's not so fifty thousand feet either.
- 50:22Speaker 3: Final question, Michigan, they got really lucky because we don't
- 50:25Speaker 3: talk about them cheating every day.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Sure or false? Very true.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's the greatest thing for them to ever happen. That
- 50:29Speaker 3: Florida state was left out. Very true because we loved it.
- 50:33Speaker 3: We loved We love cheating, don't we boys loved cheering?
- 50:35Speaker 2: We love it.
- 50:35Speaker 3: I roode for Michigan every game because I wanted that
- 50:37Speaker 3: story to stay alive. They lost a couple games, the
- 50:38Speaker 3: story goes away or what happened now no one's even
- 50:41Speaker 3: looking at him as the big cheaters, which, by the way,
- 50:44Speaker 3: cheat all You can't just don't get caught like everybody
- 50:46Speaker 3: does that.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I have multiple friends.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Let me not be specific. I have multiple people I know.
- 50:52Speaker 1: That you talking about, like person of their personal life.
- 50:55Speaker 2: No, I'm just.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Saying this cheating happens.
- 50:56Speaker 6: Okay, the cheating happens, but if you get caught, then
- 51:01Speaker 6: you suffer the consequences.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 51:03Speaker 3: That is a rule. You cannot scout. You can't. Everything
- 51:07Speaker 3: that Michigan was doing was against the rules. Even if
- 51:09Speaker 3: you think, well that's easy. Anybody can go sit in
- 51:10Speaker 3: the stands and record it. True, and people do, and
- 51:14Speaker 3: people hack computers and people get practiced.
- 51:17Speaker 2: All just don't.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Get caught because when you do get caught, then you
- 51:20Speaker 3: have to serve the punishment. And uh, Michigan getting caught
- 51:26Speaker 3: was my favorite thing of the year.
- 51:28Speaker 6: So it's not what your cousin Randy does with the
- 51:30Speaker 6: I Hop waitress. Necessarily, it's that there's a paper trail
- 51:34Speaker 6: and he left the shades.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Open, exactly.
- 51:36Speaker 6: It.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Everybody's doing stuff with the I Hop waitress, right, but no, no,
- 51:40Speaker 3: if it's to ihop waitress, absolutely.
- 51:43Speaker 1: All good.
- 51:44Speaker 6: But it's everybody is doing it or something similar, but
- 51:48Speaker 6: not everybody's getting caught. So the punishment is you just
- 51:50Speaker 6: got caught, and so you should be punished not for
- 51:53Speaker 6: doing it, but yeah, for doing it because you got
- 51:55Speaker 6: caught doing it.
- 51:56Speaker 2: So I hated that. It's not a story anymore. You
- 51:58Speaker 2: want to hear you want to hear a story I
- 51:59Speaker 2: haven't told publicly.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I would love to hear it.
- 52:01Speaker 6: So the week that happened, the week he got suspended,
- 52:03Speaker 6: they're going to go play Penn State. We're at the game.
- 52:06Speaker 6: I'm up Michigan's tunnel. Before the game, they get to
- 52:09Speaker 6: stadiums Absurdly early. They're like two and a half hours
- 52:12Speaker 6: ahead of time. Most teams are two or one forty
- 52:14Speaker 6: five Michigan as a whole team. Yeah, they get to
- 52:17Speaker 6: the stadium. Wait, Washington does that as well. So anyway,
- 52:20Speaker 6: they back four team buses up to the locker room
- 52:24Speaker 6: and everyone gets off, and then three of the buses
- 52:26Speaker 6: drive down the road and they park wherever the visiting
- 52:28Speaker 6: team would normally park. One bus stays outside of Michigan's
- 52:32Speaker 6: locker room cranked. And remember this this Saturday morning game
- 52:37Speaker 6: kicks off at noon Eastern. That Saturday morning was when
- 52:39Speaker 6: they had filed for the injunction in court, and they
- 52:42Speaker 6: were trying to see is he going to be able.
- 52:44Speaker 2: To CoA restraining order?
- 52:45Speaker 6: So they kept calling right yeah, s Eah, yeah, yeah,
- 52:47Speaker 6: which churched it up way above and beyond what it
- 52:49Speaker 6: should have been.
- 52:49Speaker 2: But I loved it like you did.
- 52:51Speaker 5: Well.
- 52:51Speaker 6: Anyway, So I've got I've got production in my ear
- 52:54Speaker 6: and they're telling me, hey, there is there is an
- 52:56Speaker 6: outlet that's reporting that he's over at the team hotel
- 53:00Speaker 6: and he's waiting to see the court ruling and if
- 53:03Speaker 6: he gets the injunction, he will then be led via
- 53:05Speaker 6: police escort to the stadium, and I'm trying to tell production, well,
- 53:09Speaker 6: I got eyes on a bus that's twenty feet from
- 53:11Speaker 6: me right now, and he's on there, So he's not
- 53:14Speaker 6: unless that's the hotel they stayed in last night with
- 53:16Speaker 6: wheels on it. He's on that thing. And then of
- 53:18Speaker 6: course it didn't get granted. I don't know where he
- 53:20Speaker 6: went the rest of the day. But the thing about
- 53:22Speaker 6: it is all those dudes are seniors. Like he's got
- 53:24Speaker 6: a player led team. So he takes the hands off
- 53:26Speaker 6: the wheel or they forcibly remove his hands from the wheel.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Bus just keeps right on going. And now he's back.
- 53:32Speaker 6: And I think it's crazy that we were sitting there
- 53:35Speaker 6: debating should Florida State be in over Texas? Should Florida
- 53:39Speaker 6: State be in over Alabama? And Michigan never even got
- 53:41Speaker 6: inserted nothing, even though they cheated.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and now everybody I'm saying, not say to people,
- 53:45Speaker 3: don't other people are cheap?
- 53:45Speaker 2: Theyn't get caught. Yeah, you're right. They never once said
- 53:50Speaker 2: should we penalize Michigan for cheating?
- 53:52Speaker 1: No one said it.
- 53:53Speaker 6: My girlfriend is the one who brought it up to
- 53:54Speaker 6: me and said, why aren't they talking about.
- 53:57Speaker 2: They you just don't get it.
- 53:59Speaker 6: And she said, I don't think you people get it
- 54:01Speaker 6: and this you dropped a you people on us, and
- 54:03Speaker 6: that put you people.
- 54:04Speaker 2: What do you mean to your people?
- 54:06Speaker 3: You guys what we talked about earlier. Watch Late Kick Live.
- 54:08Speaker 3: You watch on YouTube too. I mean, you have so
- 54:10Speaker 3: many followers on YouTube. That's where I watch, Like I'd
- 54:13Speaker 3: consume it on YouTube, and then I watch the clips
- 54:16Speaker 3: on message board when people are mad at you.
- 54:18Speaker 2: That's how I watch. And that's it's such a same here.
- 54:20Speaker 3: You have infiltrated in a beautiful way because I'm a
- 54:22Speaker 3: message board guy and I'll just randomly see you a
- 54:26Speaker 3: clip at a time. One thread, people love you, the
- 54:28Speaker 3: next one down they can't stand what you said about
- 54:30Speaker 3: their team of their quarterback. And that is exactly what
- 54:32Speaker 3: what you're supposed to be doing. That's the spirit of
- 54:34Speaker 3: the holiday season. The holiday is all days. You guys
- 54:37Speaker 3: can follow Josh at Late Kick, Josh on Twitter and Instagram.
- 54:40Speaker 3: I'm a big fan, have been for a while. I
- 54:42Speaker 3: had no idea you recorded in the sea that.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Building.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Yeah sure, Yeah, there's a whole whole situation up there.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Huht A got a second floor all to ourselves. And
- 54:51Speaker 3: then after COVID, no one came back. So it's like
- 54:53Speaker 3: we could if they inserted a shower in that building,
- 54:55Speaker 3: I would not leave the building yet. How much do
- 54:58Speaker 3: you bench press? I just matched the first time, like
- 55:01Speaker 3: fifteen years.
- 55:01Speaker 2: What was yours?
- 55:02Speaker 3: And I'll give you an over under if I well, okay,
- 55:05Speaker 3: So I don't do ses. I don't do single rep
- 55:08Speaker 3: because I'm told that's not good for you. So I've
- 55:10Speaker 3: never done it. But I was like, let's go tenth
- 55:11Speaker 3: grade again. And so my trainer, his name is Kevin Klug,
- 55:15Speaker 3: he was like roll his eyes. We'd finished the workout
- 55:18Speaker 3: and he was like, are you serious? You want to
- 55:19Speaker 3: just try to max out? And I was like, let's go.
- 55:22Speaker 3: And so I weigh about one seventy two. I was
- 55:26Speaker 3: able to push up one time, but no help to
- 55:27Speaker 3: forty five?
- 55:28Speaker 1: Oh boy, And that's the asterisk. It was post workout.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we had done a whole workout, and I'm not
- 55:32Speaker 3: sure how that compares now, but I feel like it's
- 55:34Speaker 3: way about my body weight it is, and so I
- 55:36Speaker 3: feel pretty good now. I'm not near as jacked as
- 55:38Speaker 3: you are. I I could go above two forty five.
- 55:41Speaker 3: I don't know what I can do well.
- 55:42Speaker 2: No, I knew that.
- 55:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I know, I was never comparing.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Me to you.
- 55:46Speaker 3: I think he was doing over underbones, Oh way, over
- 55:49Speaker 3: look at it and shoulders are cues.
- 55:52Speaker 2: That's the metric.
- 55:53Speaker 6: I'm over by the metric system too, though I don't
- 55:55Speaker 6: even know what the conversion to you do in UK
- 55:57Speaker 6: A British doing Jolie good. Let me ask you this, Yeah,
- 56:01Speaker 6: how much? So you work out fairly regularly? Do you?
- 56:03Speaker 6: I do?
- 56:03Speaker 2: Okay?
- 56:04Speaker 6: Do you do you showcase any of it on your platforms?
- 56:07Speaker 6: Or do you just keep it between you and the gym?
- 56:09Speaker 2: Very little? Okay?
- 56:10Speaker 6: Because I found and I made this mistake a couple
- 56:13Speaker 6: of times, like people would ask me constantly, hey can
- 56:16Speaker 6: you give me workout advice? So I just posted like
- 56:20Speaker 6: a workout mash up. You don't look like that guy,
- 56:23Speaker 6: though you should, like all the other girls do exactly
- 56:25Speaker 6: like all of us. I would believe you. Yes, well,
- 56:28Speaker 6: the problem is if you could see what it does
- 56:30Speaker 6: to your DMS when you do that, and not by
- 56:33Speaker 6: Peter Bad, not by people you want to be in
- 56:34Speaker 6: your DMS either.
- 56:35Speaker 2: It's like it's a cesspool. I'm out.
- 56:38Speaker 6: I don't know how fitness models do it or the
- 56:40Speaker 6: answer is you never go in your unopened messages.
- 56:42Speaker 2: That's different reasons.
- 56:43Speaker 3: I don't go on the unopened messages either, smart but
- 56:45Speaker 3: now like I would believe you ought to watch yours
- 56:47Speaker 3: because you look like that. For me, if I put
- 56:49Speaker 3: something up that's even remotely my wife's like, that is cringe,
- 56:53Speaker 3: that's crunch.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Take it down, and I'm like, all right, hell, you're welcome.
- 56:56Speaker 2: I do put Eddie pictures.
- 56:58Speaker 3: That's usually Eddie, look at you trying to show off.
- 57:01Speaker 3: But for Eddie, like, dude's gotten a lot stronger.
- 57:04Speaker 5: Well, mine's more like look at him. You remember him
- 57:06Speaker 5: being fat, Like, look at him now he's working hard.
- 57:08Speaker 5: It's that kind of thing. But I improve man.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Like I don't get people yelling at me for putting
- 57:11Speaker 3: you up. I get people yelling and putting me up.
- 57:13Speaker 3: And then my trade is I put Bobby up on mine.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Now, you never have one time, not one time? Do
- 57:17Speaker 2: you go Do you go to a big public gym,
- 57:19Speaker 2: or you go to a private place. We have a
- 57:21Speaker 2: gem on our property and the trainer comes there. That's awesome. Yeah,
- 57:24Speaker 2: that's awesome.
- 57:24Speaker 6: Do you get to do it at the time of
- 57:25Speaker 6: day you want to do it or do you have
- 57:27Speaker 6: to work it around no time and day, because I
- 57:29Speaker 6: get like, the best perk of structuring your own schedule
- 57:32Speaker 6: is I can go to the gym at one o'clock
- 57:33Speaker 6: in the afternoon. Yeah, and it is the biggest blessing.
- 57:36Speaker 6: Like I hate morning workouts and I hate going after work.
- 57:39Speaker 6: So to be able to do that, like I would,
- 57:41Speaker 6: I would shave, so I would dedicate so much of
- 57:43Speaker 6: my salary if they said you don't get to do
- 57:45Speaker 6: that anymore to being able to maintain that because it
- 57:47Speaker 6: is worth its weight. And I don't know whatever the
- 57:49Speaker 6: most valuable commodity is, but it's above gold.
- 57:51Speaker 3: I hate working out, and the more I hate working out,
- 57:53Speaker 3: I'll be honest with you. I like competing. I hate
- 57:56Speaker 3: exercising for the sake of exercise. But I'm also not
- 57:58Speaker 3: twenty five anymore. And so we work out three every
- 58:02Speaker 3: day because we wake up at three in the morning,
- 58:04Speaker 3: and three is kind of the break between the first
- 58:07Speaker 3: part of the day and then when we get back
- 58:09Speaker 3: into it at night.
- 58:10Speaker 2: And so yeah, it's we're pretty fortunate to be able.
- 58:12Speaker 1: To do that.
- 58:13Speaker 2: And d he's been killing it.
- 58:14Speaker 3: Our other friend as a singer songwriter, named Ben Rector
- 58:16Speaker 3: also works out with this and it's just three dorky
- 58:20Speaker 3: white You're not.
- 58:20Speaker 2: White, are you?
- 58:21Speaker 6: No?
- 58:21Speaker 1: But I mean pretty much.
- 58:23Speaker 2: You know, going hard for the trainer and we do
- 58:25Speaker 2: pretty good. Have you worked out in Arkansas's weight room?
- 58:28Speaker 2: Not worked out? Have been there a bunch but never
- 58:31Speaker 2: worked out. I never want the players to feel bad
- 58:32Speaker 2: about themselves.
- 58:33Speaker 6: That's also the holiday spirit. The other biggest blessing is
- 58:36Speaker 6: it we're on the road. Yeah, I bet, and we
- 58:38Speaker 6: get to go. Most places we go will open their
- 58:41Speaker 6: weight room to us. That is like five year old
- 58:44Speaker 6: version of me. I mean five years ago version of me.
- 58:46Speaker 6: If you told me, hey, Bama, Georgia, Penn State, Arkansas
- 58:50Speaker 6: have been in there and worked out, They're just going
- 58:51Speaker 6: to say, hey, we got time for you. Here's a
- 58:54Speaker 6: two hour spot on Friday. Come work out that.
- 58:56Speaker 2: Even I'm in there taking video of myself and I
- 58:59Speaker 2: never do.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Thisannessey Camp we started doing a show called Too Much Access.
- 59:02Speaker 3: We're like sixteen episodes in where we've traveled everywhere from TCU, Cincinnati,
- 59:07Speaker 3: Kansas State and.
- 59:09Speaker 6: So we go and you see that grass hill in
- 59:11Speaker 6: Kansas State's right, we ran it. So and they give
- 59:15Speaker 6: us our strength coaches and they'll run us through workouts.
- 59:18Speaker 6: You know, we're in the middle of basketball now, and
- 59:20Speaker 6: who are working with NBA Acey? Who is the coach
- 59:23Speaker 6: Wichitol State?
- 59:24Speaker 2: Oh Quincy Acy? Yeah? Sorry, yeah, so you say said, like,
- 59:28Speaker 2: maybe I'm wrong.
- 59:28Speaker 1: We got their boys.
- 59:29Speaker 3: So like he's running us through ball handling drills. It
- 59:32Speaker 3: literally was fantasy camp. Is my dad to go fantasy camp?
- 59:34Speaker 3: And so we need to get in full pads in
- 59:36Speaker 3: football and then talk to hanging out with the coach
- 59:38Speaker 3: or go in the gym and they give it to
- 59:39Speaker 3: us for an hour with the coach and do stupid stuff.
- 59:41Speaker 2: And here's here's what's awesome. Those strength coaches.
- 59:44Speaker 6: When I go in there, they're trying to ask me
- 59:46Speaker 6: questions and I'm like, stop, I'm the one who needs
- 59:49Speaker 6: to pepper you.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Well.
- 59:50Speaker 6: First off, we're not on camera here, and secondly, even
- 59:52Speaker 6: if we were, I am so much more fascinating in
- 59:54Speaker 6: what you do than you should ever be in what
- 59:56Speaker 6: I do.
- 59:57Speaker 2: That's like a dream world to be able to hop into.
- 59:59Speaker 2: It's super cool what you've.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Been able to do, man, what you've built, like really
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: just like I recognize it. It's awesome to see you
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: really thriving, and you're you're just generally existing in the
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: college football space, which is hard to generally do anything
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: because there are ten thousand people trying to exist. So
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: congratulations and all your success.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Well coming from you especially, I appreciate it.
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: When you were coming to yet and you live in town,
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: live like five minutes away.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Really, how long have you lived in Nashville?
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: January twenty twenty, So okay, right right at the COVID,
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: right at the beginning.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Yeah, nice, that's a good time.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: No, it wasn't had anything for Joshua Goes.
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: No, just just Josh You're you're so inspiring, like you've
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: inspired me just this whole time to possibly start my
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: own show pretty soon and just go on the limbit
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: Wait Cowboys Nation, you know something like that.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's good. They need they need some coverage out
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: on tap market. That's an interesting inspiration.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: I don't know if there's no way I'm alone, everyone
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: listening right now is thinking the same thing.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: So thanks Josh.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: You guys follow at Late Kick.

- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Steelers eighteen.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Here's my note. Patriots don't need to win and stop?
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Yeah right now, thank god, we're still the second pick.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: What's wrong with you? Guys? Just stop?
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: What about we.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Beat the Steelers? We're good? All right? Calm down.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: The fact that whenever Zach Bailey's abbey came in and
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: went over to his offensive coordinator he was teaching the
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: head coach, Yeah, bill O Brian Gay in Alabama. Yeah,
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: went over and hugged him, and then he saw Belichick
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: and he gave him a thumbs up hilarious.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: And then it was like give him a half handshake.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: It was like, yes, sir, yes, yeah, he's like, good game, sir, hilarious.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Patriot's got to stop winning them. I know. Leave mac joneson, yeah,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: tell them call him.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Okay, did you like Zeke running the ball?
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: He looked great overall, I mean catching the ball, running
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: the ball, Yeah, he looked great.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Bucks twenty nine, Falcons twenty five. Baker leads the Bucks
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: on a big game winning touchdown or the Baker's Show,
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Big Baker's Show. I told you, I'll sleep on the Bucks.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Somebody's got to make it. The Saints, the Bucks of
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: the Falcons, somebody's got to make it. Our morning show
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: has the Saints.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Of the future.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Man, if they make the playoffs, though, what there's no shot.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: So there is a shot. They're tied for first place.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and the worst division ever.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but I thought you meant to make the playoffs.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but I mean to win it.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: That's not our bat, I know it. But you can
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: always hedge out. If you can just win out playoff
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: game or something you probably hedge out.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Okay, okay, we'll talk about that.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Bears twenty eight, Lions thirteen lines often struggle, but man
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: fields look good.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Do you still get Caleb? Yeah, yeah you do too.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Bengals beat the Colts, Browning and Tuner sit about past yards.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Bengals pulled away. Hey, look pretty good, and they do it.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: They got a pretty I think they have a pretty
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: easy schedule the rest of the year if I feel
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: like some of their last games are winnable.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Games Vikings, Steelers, Chiefs, and Browns, so they can definitely
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: win the next two.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: They can go. I think they can go to and two,
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: maybe three and one.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: Yeah, are they still investigating the injury report on bro
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: they closed it up.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Of course they're going to close it out because they don't. Yeah,
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: they have would not be looking not look good. Browns
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: beat the Jags. Joe Flacco is that dude? Joe Flacco
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: is who I would have picked in our league, our
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: bowl game. Yeah, he's playing with the freaking Browns. Now,
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: he can't move over the crab, but he was. He
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: looks solid. He looks exactly like what you think the
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: best version of film would look like. Now and he
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: just gets the ball the people and they wouldn't get
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Their defense is so good. You just need somebody in
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: there to make to not screw up and occasionally make
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: a pass.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: And he does that. Blacko had three hundred yards and
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: three touchdowns and then you gotta put back on the
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: practice squad. Yeah, just for Ross Ross. Yeah, it's weird.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Saints twenty eight, Panthers six. You know, we'll move on.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Jets whooped the Texans, but Strout left with a concussion
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: and Zach Wilson at three hundred yards. The whole game
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: was bizarre. It was probably Zach Wilson's best looking game. Yeah,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I watched a lot of it. I was like, dang,
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: it looks it looks pretty good. Ravens beat the Rams.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: The Rams are pretty good.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: That was a great game. Yeap, the Rams are pretty good.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: That was fun to watch. Ravens went get this. I
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: went to the bathroom real quick during that punt.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: So there was a walking so yeah, So it goes
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: into overtime and the Rams are gonna punt over to
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: the Ravens.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm single peal quick because it's punt.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: I don't know what's gonna happen on the punt freaking
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: come back games games over. Oh no, obviously I got
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: to watch it in replay seventy four times. Not the
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: same at all. Vikings and Raiders. Worst game I've ever
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: seen in my life.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Oh gosh.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: They were talking during.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: The game about how it was probably gonna be the
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: first game ever going to overtime, a zero zero that
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: had never happened before. And finally the Vikings had a
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: field goal in the four to quarter to win the game.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Is terrible. What a terrible game.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: And I don't know, how does somebody, like, how does
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: a quarterback come on on the scene. You already have
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: all the scouting on him and he's played a ton
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: of now he played Arizona Raiders, play the Raiders.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Who are you talking about, Dobbs?
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, he's playing with everybody.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: But how does he suck so bad so quickly after
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: not sucking.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Like two games?
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's because it's not he didn't like show
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: up from Japan. They had all the scouting on him
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: for the first couple of a few games. Maybe that
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: first game did expect him to play.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: I don't know, man like Kevin O'Connell. Guy, I don't know.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Forty nine ers. The game wasn't as close as the
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: score is.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: Forty nine ers twenty eight Seahawks sixteen pretty at three
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: hundred and sixty eight passing yards.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I should have bet him for MVP.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: No, you're good right where you're at.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: Bill's beat the Chiefs. That Chiefs Chiefs filed. He was
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: so stupid. He is so stupid. Which one are you
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: annoyed by the mahomes whining? Though?
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: No?
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: I like it because he doesn't ever do that. He
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: never whins. He never shows a motion when he slammed
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: his helmet. I don't even who I was watching. I
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: feel like he's just breaking down because it's happening every game.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: He's been so con rolled and press conferences and he's like,
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: we have to do better.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: I have to do better.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: And then finally he is mad at the ref, but
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: really he is mad at all his receivers from yeah
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: that last sure.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Yeah eight games. And then he went to Josh Allen
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: said it too, and Josh was like, well, what do
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: you want me to do?
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: Josh just tapped him on the shoulder. Sorry, sorry, man.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Frustration just bubbled over. I liked it. Uh, Broncos beat
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: the Chargers.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Listen, I've been telling you guys, and I don't think
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: I'm right, but I've been telling you guys, Herbert's just
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: didn't He didn't win games.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Everybody annoints him top three quarterback, top four quarterback.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: Hasn't done crap. Now, I don't know if Stale even
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: called an offensive player, just says, you, guys, figured out,
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: I'm gonna call defense. But Herbert left with a fracture finger.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: But they lost again. They lost again the shirt finger
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: on his throwing hand.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: And the Broncos won again. That's like five of six
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: or six of seven. I believe what it is. Yeah,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: that's awesome. Yeah, and they're right behind the Chiefs. Now
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: one game now, I'm rooting for the Broncos.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: One year ago to they were like, he's such a douche.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: Russell Wilson, such a dude, Let's go Russ.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Yeah, let's ride.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: Right Cowboys with the Eagles. That got two hundred seventy
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: yards two touchdowns, and it's just I mean, how about
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: the turnover. It wasn't really a game, I mean, was it?
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Did you ever feel?
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: No? No?
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: It really no, I never felt that there was one
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: when the Eagles scored, you know, when they was like,
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: oh we might have a game here now.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: That was the closest.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: It got three fumbled. It was over Hurts in the
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: first half.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: Oh dude, Hurts fumbled, DeVante Smith fumbled and A J.
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Brown FuMB. I mean it was just I don't know.
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: Everything was just going the Cowboys way, which was just fantastic.
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: And then our kicker, dude, is just unbelievable.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Unbelievable, and our promises where two people survive. So Reid
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: had the Chiefs minus two and a half versus the
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Bills that did not win. Reid had the Saints minus
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: five versus the Panthers that did win.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Oh, good job, Reid.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and he had Navy plus three. Person's Army, oh
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: the Army Navy game that did not win read with
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: one correct. Eddie had the Texans minus five and a
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: half at the Jets that did not win.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: I did not win.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: You had the other side of the Army Navy that one.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Let's go baby.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: You had the Cowboys minus three versus Eagles that one.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Ow wow wow, I can smell that money from here.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: And Kevin, you had the Seahawks plus ten and a
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: half to forty nine ers that did not win. Nope,
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: you had the Broncos plus two and a half at
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: the Chargers that won big time, sir. And you had
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: the Rams plus seven at the Ravens you win again
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: by one boy, Eddie and Kevin going to the final round.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Oh, you're going down.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: I'm not the Eagles.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Okay, not the Eagles, Kevin, I'm not the Eagles.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: Take all the money? All right, Well that's a good show.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Anything else you guys want to say, Shorey? Oh yeah,
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: seven hundred million, but all on the very backhand so
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: they can buy other players too. Yeah, and then it's
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: a great strategy unless you're playing them.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: Even when he starts getting paid all the big money,
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: if he's not living in California, then he doesn't have
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: to get tax and council.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Pretty smart, pretty smart.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: I was talking to my wife about this, and she said,
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: what if the world ended though, or what if the
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: economy crush? What if the Dodgers, like a clare bankrupt,
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: Like what I.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: If they declared bankrupt?
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: That's a problem, you know, it's like that whole bat.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: It would be a problem anyway, because if he signs
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: a ten year deal and they declared bankruptcy in four years.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: He's not gonna pay the other six anyway.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but at least he gets the seventy seventy seventy You're.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Right, but he's betting that they don't based on historical
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: data and even economic collapse two thousand and eight, and
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: still the Dodgers are okay, and that if he moved
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: out of California, which I wear the second I don't
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: play for them, Hm, he'll probably make eighty ninety million
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: dollars extra.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, what is the best?
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: Okay, so he's probably calculating, Laura like, and I'm sure
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: it's all part of the deal, but what's the least.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: I can get that I want to live on?
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: You know what I mean as a superstar, as the
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: highest paid athlete, Like, what is the most I could
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: I can get out of it?
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: He decided what how much did he get in a year?
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Basically seven hundred Oh no, no year, two million, two million
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: to two Yeah, which that's a lot of money. No,
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: it's not not to him. He has plays tons of money.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: He already has limp you know, limitless pockets.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: That's not even off the field stuff.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: Yeah, no, yeah, he's fine.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: We're going to market him like crazy.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: He can't spend all the money that he's going to
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: be getting and already has. It's like Jay Leno, he
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: has so much money that he'd never spent a dollar
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: of his Tonight show money salary money. Ye had never
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: just put it away. He only spent his touring money
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: because he made so much touring. Still, dang, and I
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: want to have a different level. I want to have
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: those conversations. The Lakers won the nd season tournament. Good
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: for them, that's awesome.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I'm glad they won their championship.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: They did, and as we compare Lebron and MJ. MJ
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: never won a freaking mid season tournament.
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: They didn't have one who cares, but they didn't didn't have.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Hey do you guys have that in two K?
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: No? No, I sure don't.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: Eddie hasn't played a single game, bro, I'm still hacked.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: All you have to do is call I did. And
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: how quick was that?
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: It's been like a week. It's like eight minutes.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Its been more than a week.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: No, it's it's all. It's been over a month's been
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: over like he.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Keeps saying I've been blocked out me.
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: Honestly, it's a little refreshing, man, not to like come
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: home and be like.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Oh, I gotta play a game.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: But you don't have to do what I do. I
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: don't play every day at all, but sometimes if I
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: get any time, I'll play a couple at a time,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: or a middle of the night if I wake up I
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: can't sleep.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: I'll play the rout.
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: Bro.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: You're getting up at like two in the morning, I.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: Know, but that's I just I've played my basketball games
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: times whenever I just have oddly extra time, which I
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: don't very often, but I save it for that, like
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: like super Dessert.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: I do enjoy playing the video game. I love it.
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: But since I've been away from it for about a
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: month or whatever, like it's been like pretty.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Well, then bail out. No no, no, I'll kick you out tomorrow.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Relax.
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: Here's the thing, Kevin. I fund the league like people
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: play it.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: I fund it.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: I give prize money out for people that are dedicated players.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: And Eddie didn't have the respect of the league to
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: get in there.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: I got hacked, man. That's not by respect.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: You got to make a phone call called, make a
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: phone call today?
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Are you going to account? I still got the game.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: By the way, Jane Daniels won the Heisman Trophy.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: I had no money for.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: You because you bet Yeah, and his third right, you
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: bet next? Yeah, Marvin Marvin Harris Junior finished fourth. Yeah,
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: so well, it is what it is. I just want
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: to say thanks aging to Josh Pat.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: That was really a good conversation.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: I like that dude.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: That's rip man.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a pretty muscular guy.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: We talked about that.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Read. Is that the hat must signed? What are you
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: talking about?
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Is that the hat thought you were given to your buddy?
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: No, it is, it's it's signatures right there. This is dude.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: The plot thickens this dude.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: It wasn't for your you make it out to my
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: buddy ride.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you spell that? Ri I d I
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: switched it, Guys, y'all didn't notice that I was wearing
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: a different hat until like five minutes ago. No one
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: even pays attention to me. Guys. Oh no, he's the
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: youngest child. He's the youngest child. I'm not loved.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Follow us at twenty five whistles, Thank you, goodbye, everybody'll
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: not notice it.
